I bought the Sharp drawer microwave for a home I was building. The home is for retirement and used primarily for vacation. The unit was bought three years ago from Metro Appliances in Lowell Ar. (very nice people by the way). The unit was installed two years ago. Used infrequently for vacations and holidays. Last night I put a bag of popcorn in the unit and it made a grinding sound, flashing lights, smoke. I called Sharp and their attitude was it is out of warranty you are on your own. I contacted the authorized repairman and he came and said the unit is unfixable. I went online and literally see scores of people this has happened to. I'm glad I was standing by the unit and it only went for 20 seconds because my house could have been in flames.

It works really well and this price point is good. It’s lasted me a few years and it is still in new condition. It has a nice modern look also. Good microwave for a great value.

Both the microwave and French door fridge handles are crap. The microwave has completely broken and the fridge is very loose and will soon break, I'm sure. Both are less than 5 years old. I will never buy Maytag again.

LG will get sued when someone dies from a knob being turned on accidentally. I’m surprised it hasn’t already happened. It happens all the time. Especially when friends/family are over. How could LG think was a good design? Was there no testing? Were they 3 feet tall? Also the burner disc discolor and never clean up. The super burner stains on the silver and you can’t get it clean. Bought this and the microwave you can’t see into without a stool. And it’s still hard to see in. LG, you dropped the ball here, learn from those mistakes. NOT recommended.

Purchased this microwave 1 year ago after my SHARP microwave of 11 years quit working. This Panasonic unit is only exactly one year old... Apparently the units have cheap wiring and are only designed to last one year so you have to pay money to their online support or purchase a new one. With no warning it just quit working after having for 1 year. My household has only 2 adults over age 50 and the microwave is not overused at all.I attempted calling Panasonic their product and refuse to because it is 1 year old and will charge me for advise on the phone or send me to a service center who will charge me. We ended up opening the unit to look for fuse issue. It turned out having melted wires which obviously blew the fuse. All of the information that I now read online about this Microwave model catching on fire and other internal electrical issues are apparently true due to the cheap wiring in the units. The units with the "inverter" seem to be the ones with faulty cheap wiring that makes the machine go bad after a year. We are lucky the fuse blew in the unit, as the unit turns out it would have been a fire hazard.Panasonic unlike Sharp will not offer any assistance at all in repairing the unit unless you pay upfront. They will say to you over and over that your unit is out of warranty (even though by only a few days). This Panasonic cost twice the price of the SHARP until that I had for over 12 years. Panasonic loves to fill the landfills with faulty microwaves or find a way to get additional money out of you minutes after the warranty expires. In my opinion the worst manufacturer of consumer electronics. I will never purchase another Panasonic brand product again. I will never recommend the Panasonic brand to anyone. I will warn people against purchasing any electronic products from Panasonic.

We bought a Whirlpool microwave model # GH7208XRY4 at the Habitat For Humanity store. It was brand new still in the unopened box with the warranty card in the box. The box was undamaged and in perfect shape. We loved this microwave until six months later, it started to throw a code F6 and wouldn't work - it wouldn't turn on or off and we couldn't use it at all. Since this is an under the cabinet model, it was a little hard to uninstall it as it's a built-in. I called the customer service center and they don't cover it because the ordinal purchase date was 2012, we bought it in Oct 2014. I guess someone bought it in 2012. They say that since the ordinal purchase date was 2012, they don't warranty. They also said because I had bought it from the ReStore, it was a donated item and would cover it. I told them the box was unopened and it worked for several months, so their stand was it might have been damaged when I bought it. Again I told them it worked for 6 months, so how could it have been damaged when I bought it? They were very unhelpful.

Panasonic microwave has self-timing or manual timing, a minute button which is used very often. The self-cook is easy to set and the food is perfect every time. Also, the cost was reasonable for this fine product. The microwave fits nicely on the countertop. It has a turntable which makes turning the container continually not necessary. It holds larger size containers which makes it easy to cook a goodly quantity of food. I do recommend Panasonic.

We purchased the Sharp 30 inch drawer microwave in the fall of 2013, by August 2017, it is broken, with a repair estimate of $720 (broken magnetron) - the microwave brand new cost $850 - which we considered a high end microwave at the time. The replacement unit is now priced over $1,000. We were told by the repairman that popcorn and bacon ruined the microwave. Tried to work with Sharp to at least get a discount on a new one and we were declined. Now we are understanding that the magnetron usually comes with a 5 year warranty... Which neither Sharp nor the technician bothered to mention. Very disappointed with the quality of the microwave - our previous microwave lasted 15 years. Also disappointed with the follow up service and their lack of support for their own product.

Bought a Samsung microwave almost two years ago, and this is the second time we’ve had a major repair. Just before the warranty expired, the fan went out. It was challenging to get Samsung to agree the repair was covered and then to schedule the repair. Now the magnetron tube and couple other parts need to be replaced, parts and labor costing around $275. I’m debating whether to sink more money into this thing. When it works, it’s great, but with this record of repairs, I’m hesitant to invest more $$.

I have a GE microwave. It stated that I had a 10 year warranty on the magnetron on the computer website. Now GE says it's not warranted. I have owned this microwave for a little over a year and its pile of **. All they wanted to do is sell you their products and they don't stand behind what they make anymore. Nothing is made to last in this time and age. I will never buy GE products from Home Depot again.
