Product Reviews:

Fourteen months after buying my new built-in GE Profile Microwave/Convection, it stopped heating. I was told by GE that it was not under warranty. I paid close to $300 to an appliance service operation locally to fix my nearly $1,000.00 GE built-in (depending on the microwave to help feed four kids under the age of nine). So, about 13 months later I had another heating issue and I called the appliance service operation and they found another problem with the microwave. They said it was a faulty piece of equipment, replaced it and didn't charge me since they were local and said this shouldn't have happened (knew I was recently divorced and took pity on me). Almost 18 months after this, so three years after the purchase, the microwave started to act up again - it continues to "work" even after you open the microwave. Just dealt with it since it still worked. However, 6 months later, the microwave now doesn't heat. The power is on, and nothing happens inside. This started a week ago, but it was off and on. Now it's dead. Never buying a GE anything. I've got to buy a microwave and a refrigerator in the next six months. It is NOT going to be a GE!

My Whirlpool Microwave was installed in my new home by the builder. As write this, my microwave is 1 year 2 months old. Just out of warranty. On this day first the turntable wouldn't stop turning with the door open or closed. One hour after this event, the interior light would not turn off. On half hour after this event...the microwave died.

I bought a Maytag microwave model mmv4203ds00 on May 2010. On 8-20-10, the microwave stopped working. It was serviced under warranty. However, on 10-31-11, the microwave stopped working again.

I bought a Maytag microwave in Feb of '16. Six months later, last August, it stopped working correctly (light doesn't come on, will not start, continually says "open/close door to start"). I have been trying for THREE MONTHS to have this fixed. Multiple calls to Maytag have resulted in nothing but empty promises. Calls to the store where we purchased it do no good - "you have to call Maytag." We got 6 months use out of a Maytag microwave which we paid EXTRA to have installed. At this point I don't want it fixed. I want it replaced. The Maytag brand used to stand for durability and integrity; now it stands for badly made products and pathetic customer service. Look up my phone number on your computers, Maytag, and you will see all the efforts I've made to get this fixed.

We just bought new Samsung appliances from Nebraska Furniture Mart. We've had them for 1 month. Last week, the fan on the microwave started coming on by itself. After reading these reviews, I don't even want these appliances. SMSGA-ME18H704SFS/AA-Otr Micro 1.8 Cu.

I have had this GE microwave for over a year now and have not had a problem with it. It has a variety of settings and it doesn't quit if something causes a spark/feedback, like a tiny piece of foil. It has a spacious interior and a large turntable. Also, the light stays on while cooking and comes on when the door is opened allowing one to watch and check on the cooking process even in a dim night light environment. Mid-morning munchies without having to turn a bright light on. I have tried other GE products and was disappointed with their performance. This GE microwave has worked well and I have not had any problems with it.

I tried to microwave food like you normally would, there was no metal in the microwave or any other substance that would cause an adverse reaction. The result was sparks flying all over the inside of the microwave and awful smelling smoke filling the kitchen, also a fun filled visit from the local fire and police departments. Zero help from customer service. I will NEVER purchase this or any other item from this company and I urge others to do the same. Stay safe and stay away from this product!!

The performance of my microwave is great - not fancy but does the job. It's size is fine as it fits just right where we wanted to put it. No complaints. I haven't had any problems, therefore I consider it a great value. Plus, I would get the same size if and when I replace it!

If I could give it less than a star, I would. We bought the GE model JEB18600M2WW as a wall insert microwave earlier to replace a 1999 GE of similar version that went out earlier this year. We use it 2-3 times daily, 30 seconds here, 2 minutes there. Today, I went to warm up the baby's bottle, and it made a weird sound and went dead. I'm sure it's the same thing everyone else is complaining about. I won't be buying another GE microwave again.

We bought a new townhome in with new Bosch appliances in Nov 2013. Someone said the appliances were "high end". For the past 6 months the microwave has tripped the circuit breaker upon opening the door. So much for "high end". We called an appliance company who charged $129 just for driving to our house. After nearly two hours, and speaking to a Bosch technician, the appliance tech said we need a new "board" for a total of $315, parts and labor! WHY DID IT BREAK DOWN AFTER ONLY TWO YEARS?!! I could have bought a cheaper Walmart microwave that would still be working right now. Bosch needs to make better appliances or extend their crappy one-year warranty! No wonder the warranty is only good for one year and doesn't cover circuit boards!
