Product Reviews:

I have had this microwave for several years now and it has always performed as expected. So far, my wife and I have only used it for warming up leftovers. My wife also uses it to make corn-on-a-cob. It works perfectly for this particular task and is very quick. I would definitely purchase this same type of unit again.

I haven't had problems with safety or power but do have some issues with the poor design of my Sharp Carousel Model R-651ZM: 1) Condensation and small food particles have made the inside of the door look dirty all the time. There is no way I can see to clean between the inside of the door glass and attached metal screen that prevents microwave leakage. Viewing the unit with the door closed, this microwave unit looks permanently dirty because the door has a space that is unreachable and covered with steam and tiny food particle deposits. I have never had this occur with other microwaves. 2) Like all newer microwaves, the 'key pad' buttons one uses to input time and power settings is flat......but these 'buttons' are harder to push than they should be. 3) The audible signal that tells you cooking is finished is Obnoxiously Loud......and there is no way to turn down the sound level. I won't be buying another Sharp microwave in the future!

In May, 2016 we purchased a Samsung Microwave Model # ME16H702SES/A... and the rest of the number is not visible due to the fire which burned off the serial number and part of the model number. I suspect the fire started due to "electrical arcing" between the microwave housing and the door, because I had that on another model six years ago, and the arcing started while the unit was not being used. The fire started in October 2016 and we contacted Home Depot Canada, the vendor. They took the information and said someone from Samsung would be coming to look at the damage and by the middle of November 2016 no one had come. We called Home Depot again and they told us to contact Samsung Canada for help. We did so, and on December 2, 2016 we received an email from Meyson **, asking us for a copy of the store receipt and photographs of the damaged area. On December 14 I sent the photographs, also asking him to confirm the receipt of the information. He replied the same day stating he had not received the photographs, I sent them again the same day, both times I sent them, there was no negative feedback from the email system, and this indicates the emails had gone through. On December 23 I had not received a reply from Meyson ** so I emailed him again indicating the length of time it was taking to acknowledge and repair this product, and heard nothing from him.December 27, I called the Samsung Canada Specialty Group (where Meyson ** works) and he wasn't available so we described the problem to another support person, they said in order to help us they required an order number. Obviously they didn't know the difference between an order number and a ticket number. After 30-35 minutes on the phone with a few individuals, it was useless going forward. We called Home Depot again asking for the appliance rep in the store where we purchased the unit and he was on vacation. At this point there is little use in pursuing this through the Customer Support area so we will file an incident with the Better Business Bureau and the CSA Group since we have had more success with the CSA in the past than the vendor.

I got the dreaded SE error message and went online because there is no troubleshooting article in the booklet. Did the Fix from a YOUTUBE video... and also learned from YOUTUBE videos that Samsung was providing new keypads on these because it was such a known defect. So I called Samsung... and was told that indeed they are NOT doing that... that I needed to contact the local repair person. So I did... and he told me to call Samsung again and lie to them that I was worried my microwave was going to burn down my house... thus forcing them to provide the free part (and service to install). So, all that to say that I wish I had purchased some other brand of microwave... note taken.

Our builder installed our GE microwave Model: JVM7195SF1SS as part of our kitchen appliances. It worked fine for about 3 1/2 years. Then it stopped heating. It turns on and appears to work, but after inserting a cup of cold water and running it on high 10 minutes, we remove cold water. I looked into this and found that the magnetron (spelling?) tends to fail. Apparently, it's a known issue, based on the reviews. GE won't allow consumers to replace this and doesn't provide replacement parts. Getting it professionally repaired will cost more than the microwave is worth. GE sent me a certificate for $150 to replace it, but it will cost at least twice that to purchase a new unit and get it installed. Plus, we have to buy another GE. I don't want to end up in the same situation. So we didn't use the certificate.

My Maytag microwave caught fire and burned our cabinets and wall. We had just arrived home from vacation and our fire alarm went off. No one was using the microwave at the time, it just caught fire. We put the fire out with the extinguisher and called the fire department. Our wall and cabinet are charred and our house smells of burnt plastic and is covered with the residue from the extinguisher. Maytag sent a technician to investigate the microwave and, just like the fire department, determined that the cause was internal within the microwave. A Maytag agent called us and offered us 10% off a new microwave and 15% when we told them our house had been damaged plus we wouldn't have to pay tax. They'd even deliver and install it for free. According to my estimation, that's probably less than $50. They told me that the microwave had no value and tried to make it seem as though they were being generous. It's an 11 year old microwave but there should be some kind of warning that they spontaneously combust after a certain period of time. If the microwave had just stopped working because of age, that would have been understandable and I would have just purchased another the next day. Instead these microwaves just self-destruct and Maytag seems to be ok with that. I was not surprised that they had a 1.5 star review when I came here. I have 4 kids, ages 2-9, who wouldn't sleep that night because they were afraid of the microwave.

We needed a microwave for a small space, and this was the only one we could find that would fit. We were pleasantly surprised at the options and full capabilities this microwave offered. It was a little pricey for the size.

We got a Samsung microwave in 11/30/2013 and by June of 2014 first, the vent fan would come on when no one was home. So we call the repair line and they came out and change out parts. Then one month later, in July 15, 2014 did the same thing and when you turn it on, would get a SE and cut off. When the repair man call me to come out (without looking at it) and clear my schedule, said, "I will order parts and then come out", so that means I need to wait again to see if he show up then.

My microwave (SMH9207) that I never took out of the box until about two months ago has gotten this nice wonderful SE error code. Samsung refuses to fix the microwave. They also are saying I bought the microwave in 2010, but that isn't true. The executive slipped up and told me that they actually go by date of manufacture and add two months to it. Next they just keep saying that they are not going to fix this problem even though you can go look anywhere online and see that they are having problems with all the keypads on their microwaves. Next, the tech support people really don't want to transfer you to anyone higher than them. They are smart ** over that. They are not going to do anything for you. Plus, they act like robots and read off the stuff that they have on the screen, and that's all instead of being like real companies and standing behind their product. I refuse to ever buy anything from them again.

I like ours because it’s also an oven. It would have been nice if there is a reasonably priced model that fits in a kitchen island or cabinet drawer instead of top of stove because it’s in the way while someone is cooking.
