I am in the middle of what all the other reviewers have said about LG. I am so frustrated that I just had to tell somebody my story. My 1600.00 French Door Freezer on the bottom is nine months old. It just stopped working. I have talked to LG 3 times and get the same answer. We have only one repair person in the area and he can't see it for 3 weeks. I have talked to Home Depot where we purchased it and they said there is nothing they can do for us. I have spent one week on the phone and from what I am reading it looks like I have a long road ahead. Never will buy another LG anything. We are living out of a college dorm sized refrigerator in the house and our old Sears Kenmore in the garage. My 87 year old blind mother lives with us so needless to say this is difficult for her. I can only keep the things she needs in the house. PLEASE if you are reading this DO NOT buy LG.

Okay as I was cleaning out the drawers, shelves and inside of my refrigerator for the third time. I purchased it from HHGregg on 11/30/2015. I decided I needed to let others know about this refrigerator so they wouldn't have to go through the same thing. Thankfully I purchased the extended service plan. We replaced the main board on July of 2018 and then the compressor went out on 1/14/2019. I am currently cleaning out the refrigerator again a year later because it quit cooling once again. Luckily, we have another refrigerator in our basement we can transfer all the food to. We have had that refrigerator for over 18 years and have never had a problem. It is a Whirlpool. We have a company coming out on Monday, two weeks from when I put in the order to fix it again. I do not recommend this refrigerator to anyone.

We purchased our Samsung refrigerator 4 years ago as new homeowners. Towards the beginning of July this year, we started having issues with the freezer not keeping things frozen - ice cream melting, meat thawing, etc. After trying the recommendations in the manual and unplugging it to "reset" it per Samsung, it seemed like our problem was fixed... for about a week. So I called Samsung again. On July 21, a technician from one of their service centers, MidAmerica, came out and discovered our sealed refrigeration system was leaking (evaporator & compressor - attached is a picture of the evaporator; all the coils are supposed to be covered in ice and only the top one of ours is due to the loss of coolant)... he also informed us that the sealed refrigeration system was still under warranty (5 year warranty stated in manual). However, he "couldn't fix it" because he supposedly just moved to our state and didn't have the insurance/licensure to carry the parts... a little fishy, but he said we should be able to call Samsung and they will find a trained technician to fix it. Turns out - Samsung has no trained technicians for sealed refrigeration systems in our area, so they told us to find our own and they will reimburse us but only if the technician we found diagnosed the same problem... okay? So we call Mr. Appliance and they were fantastic! They came out on 7/30. They diagnosed the SAME problem but stated it would be over $2000 to fix it. They also informed us it was probably only a matter of time until our "fresh food" side stopped keeping things cool too. We were shocked. The refrigerator did not even cost that much to begin with and we also don't have $2000 lying around. So I contact Samsung again, spoke with a girl named Brady. I offered to email her the quote as well as our proof of purchase to show that it seemed ridiculous that we were going to repair a refrigerator under a manufacturer's warranty for more than it was worth when we bought it. She put me on hold for a brief moment and came back to say we just needed to pay it and Samsung would reimburse us (mind you, there has never been anything in writing stating they would reimburse us... they're expecting us to just go on their word). Refused to let me email the quote to them and also refused to let me speak to a supervisor about the issue. She stated a supervisor would email me... which never happened. In the meantime, we called Mr. Appliance about ordering the parts and they stated it would probably take over a month to get the compressor from Samsung... so my fiance calls Samsung to inform them of this. In our minds, it should not take a month (possibly longer) to get a warranty issue fixed! Asks to speak to a supervisor, on the phone for over an hour and talks to three separate people who are not supervisors and just keep saying it's "their policy" to have us pay this exorbitant amount of money and expect them to reimburse us. We suggested that they just replace the refrigerator - they keep indirectly saying they will find a way to get the issue resolved. They say a supervisor will call us back in 24-48 hours... we wait 3 business days and haven't heard anything, so I call them on 8/6. I spoke with Michael, who was very nice and genuinely seemed shocked that it was taking this long to get this fixed. He actually wanted me to email him the receipts and proof of purchase unlike "Brady" and stated they would be calling Mr. Appliance since they were the only people who said they could truly fix it. We were relieved. This was short-lived however because the next day they assign our ticket to MidAmerica AGAIN and some other local company (J&D) who had already told us they don't have someone trained in sealed refrigeration systems. By this time, I am irate. I call again and tell them to refer to the images of the receipts I sent, associated with the ticket number from my phone call on 8/6 with Michael. "Gregory" tells me there are no images with that ticket number. I felt like I was going crazy! These people are ridiculous. They are like robots every time you call - there is no history of ongoing issues, they close ticket numbers before the problem is resolved and just open a new one every time. They give you the run-around and obviously no one truly cares about resolving your problem. I submitted the images again and am still waiting on another phone call. If this product wasn't still under a manufacturer's warranty, I would've been done weeks ago. It has affected our quality of life from the stress and time we've put into this and we've spent more money than anticipated on going out to eat and frequent grocery trips for fresh food. I feel defeated. I wish there was a "no star" option. It is somewhat comforting to see that so many other people have had issues with their Samsung refrigerators, as well as their customer service department, but also so unfortunate. I would NOT recommend any of their products to anyone at this point. I would never want anyone else to go through this like we have. Please consider this review (I know it's long - sorry! ), as well as all the others, before purchasing a Samsung product.

Purchased Samsung RFG237 AARS in 2011. It stopped working completely in Aug, 2019. It needed $850 worth of repairs including a new compressor. Before this we had $650 in repairs for the freezer, draining, misc items. I was expecting this to last more than 8 years. The spare fridge in my garage is 34 years old and has not required any repairs.

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator (Model # RF4287HARS, French Door, with the Flex Zone drawer) early Sept 2013. This refrigerator costs me over $2000. After about 2 months, the refrigerator section wouldn't get cold anymore. The digital display read 34 degrees, but I knew it wasn't. After reading up on trouble shooting tips, I unplugged the fridge, waited a few minutes, plugged it back in, then it read 58 degrees. I called for service (a 4 hour window, of course). The technician said it was faulty temperature sensors. He didn't have the parts and said he would have to call it in. It may be up to 3 to 4 weeks to get the parts. I thought this was ridiculous (and it was just the beginning). I called Samsung headquarters, asked them if they would kindly replace my refrigerator with a new one, since it's only about 2 months old. They said it's "NOT THEIR POLICY". They said if it's fixable, they will get a service technician to fix it. I FLIPPED!!! I told them, "I do not have the luxury to wait 3 to 4 weeks for parts to come in...... I DON'T HAVE A PROPERLY WORKING REFRIGERATOR!!!" Their answer..... it's "NOT OUR POLICY". So I ask that they transfer me to upper management. I spoke to their "Executive Customer Service Relations", told them my situation and my request. Their response was, "IT'S NOT OUR POLICY". These are the most useless customer service department heads I've dealt with. So I bit the bullet, waited about 2 weeks, parts came in, called for service technician again. They replaced the temperature sensors. I'm thinking, "Whew, I'm glad that's over with." About 2 weeks later, I notice the fridge is not getting cold again. Temperature is reading 48 to 52 degrees. Called for service again, they are going to replace ice maker and heating element. I asked the service repair man, "What is the root of this problem?" He says he doesn't know, just that the fault indicator is telling him to replace these parts. This is where I'm at right now, don't even know if this second service will solve the problem. I'm infuriated at Samsung. How dare they put out a product on the market without conducting extensive tests. Do they realize what a burden they are putting on their customers? I'm never buying Samsung again, EVER!!! If you work for Samsung (refrigerator designer or customer service), shame on you for all the trouble you put me through. Shame on your POLICY. If you make a faulty product and you know about it, OWN UP TO IT! The customer is always right! MAKE IT RIGHT FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS! Or pretty soon, you will have no more customers.

Had to return my first 2019 purchase due to refrigerator freezing food and imbalanced top doors. I was unable to get straight answers from Whirlpool and so the mgr at BB gave exchange same problems except door not as off. Cheap product make/model. A class action lawsuit from 2016 has occurred and the company continues to distribute the same issues in their new make/model.

Model GB2FHDXWS04 - This refrigerator dumps water all over the floor at least 1 time a week. We just leave a towel on the floor to absorb it because you never know when it is going to happen. Have removed the stuff and cleaned all of the ice out of the bottom of the fridge but in no time it is back. What a crummy unit. I am going to drill a hole in the bottom of it and put in a drain I guess.

Bought this piece of crap French door bottom pullout freezer refrigerator made by Samsung with water and ice less than 2 years ago for $3000! I've had 4 repair visits and I waited a 5th time yesterday with a no service show!!! I'm frustrated because I have two small kids and keep having to throw away a ton of food EVERY TIME fridge dies. Ice builds up on back plate of fridge and water stops working! I wish people would get together and form a class action lawsuit so Samsung would be forced to refund all of our money!!! And stop making these useless refrigerators!

Integrated fridge freezer, so expensive item. Not working in less than 3 years. Terrible customer service, didn't even get back after numerous calls and emails. Tried to have mended but unsuccessful. Had to buy new one. Now found out 4 out of 10 in customer reviews - expect more from big brand.

Advertising LG is life is good until you have a problem with appliance. Covered part but not labor. Had refrigerator for 24 months into a 120 month warranty. The approved service provider charged labor and service call which is NOT covered by the life is good company. The service technician stated he had already replaced three other linear compressor on LG refrigerators in my local rural area. Shouldn't there be a recall on them?
