Rheem Heat Pump Warranty

Rheem offers warranty coverage for their heat pumps to provide peace of mind and protection for homeowners. Warranty terms and coverage can vary depending on the specific model and series of the heat pump. Here is a general overview of Rheem's heat pump warranty:

Limited Parts Warranty: Rheem typically offers a limited parts warranty for their heat pumps. This warranty covers certain components and parts of the heat pump that may fail due to manufacturing defects. The length of the limited parts warranty can vary based on the specific heat pump model and series. Common parts covered under this warranty may include the compressor, coils, heat exchanger, and other essential components.

Compressor Warranty: The compressor, which is a critical component of the heat pump, often receives specific warranty coverage. Rheem's warranty for compressors may extend beyond the general parts warranty. Compressor warranties can range from several years to a more extended period, depending on the heat pump model.

Registration Requirement: To activate and qualify for the warranty, it is usually necessary to register the product with Rheem within a specified timeframe after installation. Failure to register the product within the required timeframe might result in a shorter warranty period.

Terms and Conditions: It's important to carefully review the terms and conditions of the warranty for the specific Rheem heat pump model you are considering. Warranty coverage may be subject to certain conditions, such as proper installation by a licensed HVAC professional, regular maintenance, and use according to Rheem's guidelines.

Transferability: Some Rheem heat pump warranties are transferable to subsequent homeowners if the original purchaser sells the property. Transferability can add value to the property and provide assurance to potential buyers.

Optional Extended Warranties: Rheem may offer optional extended warranty plans that provide additional coverage beyond the standard limited warranty. These extended warranties may offer more comprehensive protection for a longer period.

To get accurate and detailed information about the warranty coverage for a specific Rheem heat pump model, including the duration and terms of the warranty, it is recommended to contact Rheem directly or consult with an authorized Rheem dealer or HVAC professional. They can provide you with the most up-to-date and accurate information about warranty options for the Rheem heat pump you are interested in purchasing.

I recently had a new Rheem air conditioner/heat pump installed. The Rheem service partner, Blanton & Sons, did not disclose that the Rheem unit they recommended does not qualify for the federal energy tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act. Further, the contractor indicated Rheem does not have equipment that meets the SEER2 rating requirements for the tax credit. BUYER BEWARE! The tax credit for a split unit is $2,000, so be sure you get equipment that qualifies for this credit. Don’t trust Rheem or their service partner to disclose their noncompliance before you agree to install a unit. Consider other manufacturers.

We bought a beautiful new Rheem HVAC which included a heat pump and gas furnace. The trouble started after our system was two years old. Aug 8th 2020 -(1) The fan motor on heat exchange stopped working and had to be replaced. Within one Month's time we had to replace: (2) The coil and (3) The reverse valve. Although the parts are under warranty the labor cost us around $3000.

Buying Rheem Seer 20 heat pump/ac unit is the worst investment of our lives
Buying Rheem Seer 20 heat pump/ac unit is the worst investment of our lives. Three months after buying it quit and installer said it needed to replaced but under warranty. Waited 2 months and installed in December. Incredibly loud!!!! Sounds like a loud compressor running beside the house. If the outside temperature gets cold it is very inefficient warming the house. At -10C (14F) it couldn't keep the house warm and we had frozen pipes! Incredibly disappointed to have to live with this horrible investment. If I win the lottery this will be the first thing I replace.

Less than a year ago, I had two brand-new Rheem heat pumps installed to the tune of $16,000. One of these units had a factory defect which resulted in nearly $1,600 in electric overages (as the defect made it so that our home was unknowingly running on the ‘emergency heat’ setting for two months). As soon as I realized that something was amiss, I contacted the company – where their customer service agent led me to believe that such charges would be reimbursed provided it was deemed a defective part. HOWEVER, given the situation with COVID, she also informed me that unfortunately no agents would be able to do a home visit – and therefore the defect could not be verified.

I had 3.5 ton Sure Comfort heat pump installed in May 2020, failed one month later. Repaired and then failed again the same week, a different part. Made it through the summer then the winter failures began. It is only January 2021 and I have had this worked on so many times. The screws won't hold the doors and covers on anymore. This is complete garbage. I have deep regrets buying a Rheem product. I will not buy any Rheem products because of the quality of this product.
