I purchased a 50 gallon water heater a week ago. From the day it was installed it leaked. I have had someone from the installer, Rheem or Home Depot at my house every day. They replaced a heating element and it still leaked. Now they are trying to blame me that it was not leaking, as there was no water in the pan when the repair guy left. Really... It leaks every time about an hour after they leave. Now, they tell me it might be the pressure valve and I have to pay for the visit and fix. Funny, old heater worked fine with no leaks, just old and lots of crud in the bottom. In the last discussion, the Rheem agent told me that it might be an expansion thing that happens naturally and leaks into the pan. Now, I am beside myself and not dumb, you should never have water in the pan. Rheem/Home Depot, stand up and take responsibility for the products you sell. I pay $1400 for nothing but headaches and stress hoping the thing doesnt explode and flood my home.

I purchased a new water heater from Rheem and had it installed. I never got hot water and it took almost 2 weeks for Rheem to give me a new one. Customer Service was horrific and the most incompetent people I have ever had to deal with. I spoke with them and told them that my water heater has never worked and they shipped out part after part and finally gave me a new one. My family was in a new place and had no hot water for almost 2 weeks!! There was nothing but an, Oops, Im sorry. from Rheem. I have never been so dissatisfied and so infuriated at a company before in my life! I will never buy anything from Rheem again. I suggest everyone save their money and buy from anyone but Rheem!!

Rheem 40 Gal tank installed in February 2021. In early July tank started shutting down... 3 different case numbers. Its now August tank is inoperable. Pilot issues, part will take 2 -4 days to get here. Already been without hot water 2 full days. Long waits on customer service lines, nobody cares. Worst company and product ever! I will NEVER again deal with Rheem products or furthermore Home Depot for installs either. Do yourself a favor. Stay away from both of these places and go with an actual plumbing company that does tank installs and provides the warranty!!!

My A.O. Smith water heater began to leak so I went to Home Depot and purchased a 50-gallon electric heater. I installed it and turned it on. Everything seemed normal but the next morning as I was checking it for leaks, I noticed water on the very top of the heater. I thought it was one of my connections but upon further inspection found it to be coming from under the cap. I tightened the two nipples that were mounted by the factory and tightened my home connections. The next day there was water again. I called Rheem and they sent out a plumber and he installed two new nipples sent from Rheem. The next day more leaks. Rheem told me to take it back to HD and they would pay the plumber to take it. He brought a new tank and installed yesterday and this morning there was water all over the top! This is nothing but faulty manufacturing! Two tanks in a row that leak internally? Something is wrong with Rheem. I asked the Rheem rep if they had a problem with certain models and he said no.

Our tankless water heater failed within the extended warranty time, no problem, we will just contact Rheem customer service and get them to send a new one. Paid $80 in shipping, installed the water heater, errors out with an ambiguous error code 13 while using water at a normal flow rate. Dozens of calls to Rheem customer service, they tell us we need to have gas guy come out and check our gas service. We have to pay $200 for that check of the service, and it turns out the service is fine. Call Rheem about their defective unit and advise gas is fine, they start their claim for sending another replacement unit, another $80 for shipping. We have not had hot water now for weeks and will be waiting for another week and a half for a new one to be installed. I started looking into the company to find out that, they have a TON of defective units out there and unfairly expect the customer to shoulder the burden of proof, and costs associated with shipping, inspection, and installation. Will never buy or recommend Rheem to anyone, unless I really want to tick them off.

We had our Rheem water heater installed less than a month ago and we recently noticed an awful smell in our hot water. We are on a well and do not chlorinate our water. We do have an iron reduction filter and water softener and have never experienced a bad odor to our hot water. We had to call the plumber out to look at the water heater because of the odor being so bad and were told that we needed to replace the anode rod to eliminate the smell. The anode rod that came in the water heater was not intended for well water. We tried contacting Rheem to see if this could be processed through our warranty and we were told it was not a defect in the product. It may not be a defect, but this product was not advertised correctly. Nowhere does this product say For Chlorinated Water. I am very disappointed in this product and this manufacturer for not advertising their product in a way that allows a consumer on a well to make the best decision for their home. We had our previous water heater for over 15 years with no odor in our water. Customer Service told us we can replace the anode rod and will probably have to do it quite often, or we can completely remove it and the water heater will not last as long. He also said we could add a chlorination system to our water, but all the options he listed are at our cost. I will never purchase a Rheem water heater or any other product with their name on it ever again.

This is to anyone who is considering a RHEEM hot water heater. I just purchased the 50 gallon 40K BTU unit and I have had no luck getting it to ignite. I called the service number and they told me it was a faulty igniter. They gave me an option to have it overnighted or look for it locally. I found the part locally but they told me to check the igniter out of casing first because they usually dont fail. Long story short it was not the igniter. Through a secondary check the RHEEM tech figured out it was the entire gas control box. I now have to wait for 2-3 business days for the entire assembly. I just paid $600 from HD and my family has no hot water for 4 days! ITS A TOTAL JOKE. DONT BUY THEIR JUNK!

My experience thus far with Rheem and the support has been dismal. We bought and installed our first solar hot water tank using a recommend Rheem System. Since install, the 15 year old tank used to fill a soaker tub but the new one will not. Apparently we were recommend the wrong one and this unit is meant for a large solar heating array, not a small 2 collector system. Nobody asked about the size of the collectors. A month to get the proper spec sheet once it would not even fill the tub half way. Over a month to be told that it is the wrong unit and it is not meant for our cold climate and a small collector system. This have been going on since January and still no real response from them. No solutions and no help to follow up from our rep or Rheem to date.

I have a Rheem hot water heater, 50 gallon, that is still under warranty. On Friday 061716 I woke up to no hot water. After checking the tank we find out the pilot is out, so we re-lit the pilot only to wake up on 6/18/16 with no hot water again. We called technical support at Rheem and we were walked through a few diagnostic steps. The tech tells us it is the thermocoupler and that he can have one shipped out. We received the part on Tuesday, now 5 days without hot water, and we had it installed on Thursday. One hour after the pilot was re-lit it went out again and we were not able to re-lit. On Friday morning we call Rheem again and speak to a supervisor named Shakira. Before calling we had checked online and see that this issue we are having is happening to a lot of Rheem hot water tank owners out there.Shakira was no help what so ever, all she could do was refer us to repair companies in the area that we will have to pay. She also tells us that the tech rep that we spoke to on Saturday really was not qualified to make a diagnosis of what was wrong with our tank. I was lucky enough to get a company to come out Friday afternoon at the cost of $297... The tech tells me that the problem is the gas valve which is very common in Rheem tanks. He even showed me that the valve he was replacing the bad one with had been re-engineered because the original valves were faulty. It seems Rheem has a pattern of sending out the thermocoupler part, even though they are very well aware that the problem is their Gas Valve. It seems to me that Rheem is WELL aware that there is a problem with their hot water heaters but refuse to stand by their product. What has happened to customer service and making things right for the customer? I have also contacted a local tv stations consumer department to see if they can look into this. If more of us would call Rheem out publicly and go after them then perhaps we could all be reimbursed for our repair costs as well as help the next person out that goes through this. I was without hot water for 8 days and I have read that others have gone even longer. I would never buy anything from Rheem, as they have horrible customer service and they could care less about their customers.

After three years I had to replace my Rheem gas water heater. Due to issue in the gas chamber and it having a leak. After going back and forward with customer service for four days. They finally agreed to replaces it. Since it was still under warranty. But first I had to pay a license plumber to speak/confirm it to them. They didnt even asks for his license #. Two weeks later Im back with no hot water. Due to new water heater having issue with gas chamber AGAIN. I had City Public Service come to check my gas lines/flow. They places a red tag on the heater and stated it was the CONTROL VALVE. Once again customer service said it could not be the control value. Due to it being new. They required a gas pressure count. Which is not cover under the warranty. Im just ready to give up and just go buy a new one AND IT WONT BE RHEEM!!!! But this is what they.

We have decided to replace our hot water tanks before it fails. My wife figured it was about 13-14 years old. I was shopping around for a tank and it finally clicked, why don't I see what brand we have now, as 13 years is pretty darn good. The installer had the date of installation Dec 24/2001... WOW. It’s a Rheem Professional 410 professional grade. So that's what I will be looking for now. A instructor at my work in the plumbing department suggested I get a basic model (6 year warranty), but make sure I drain the tank once a year and wait until the water runs clear to get all the sediment out and prevent corrosion. Don't forget to turn off the breaker first. I'm definitely getting another Rheem. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I replaced my old hot water tank with a Rheem energy efficient model Guardian System RHGPRO50-40F. Same size as my former tank. When I fill my bath tub the hot water turns lukewarm after a few minutes. The licensed installer told me that this is the way that all new energy efficient hot water tanks work and that the next person to run hot water for a bath or shower would not experience this. Seriously? His suggestion was to run some hot water about 20 minutes before I filled the bath tub and when filling the bath to only turn the hot water faucet on the bath 1/2 way. I tried that and the temperature of the water continued to decrease. So I have to stand by the tub as it fills constantly checking the water temperature and turning down the cold water to maintain the water temperature. I have turned up the temperature on the hot water heater to almost max. That had not solved the issue. I have tried to get this addressed or get an answer from someone and even asked if perhaps I needed a larger tank with no luck. If it is indeed working as designed how can they call this an energy efficient hot water heater when I have to waste water and keep the water at a much higher temperature than I did with the one that was not energy efficient and it was able to fill my bath tub.

There are lots of problems at the start. Finally, it was fixed after Rheem sent a man from the home office. it worked for four years then went to heck. The cost to me at this point is over $1800 from their techs out of Denver and plumbers in the Greeley area trying to fix them. Rheem sent one new unit out but not enough pipe to install, and then I was informed that I was going to have to tear out part of my finished home to install and they wanted me to install the 1st unit before they replaced the 2nd. What a mess, and thousands to install. Now the head tech at Rheem, Mr. Daniel **, has been dragging this out; hes not returning phones and doing nothing to help me. Hes not even giving me an answer to what they will do. I am so sick of this. So very much money to buy and install at the start and now there is no hot water and more and more costs, all because Rheem 1st tankless system and venting was not right, so you, the homeowner, must figure out how to get hot water in the home where there is no place/room to install, no electric or water or gas lines to change to some other type of heat. Just tear down a new home and pay thousands of dollars to get hot water.

We purchased a Rheem water heater less than 8 months ago. The product was manufactured in February of 2013. There are only 2 adults in the household and this morning when trying to shower before work, we found there was no hot water. My husband called Rheem to receive no assistance other than Rheem would cover the part, but not the cost of a plumber to install. My husband could install, but Rheem would not even overnight the part, telling my husband it would be 2-4 days before the part would arrive. My understanding is that these water heaters are no longer made in the United States and therefore the thermal coupling will likely go out many times. After reading other reviews, I see there are others with the same problem. It is amazing that Rheem does not stand by their product and take care of all costs (the plumbers fees). We will never buy a Rheem product again and will be sure to tell others not to purchase Rheem products. Perhaps if Rheem stood by their product and took care of their clients, they wouldnt lose business.

Worst Experience of my life. Do not, I repeat, do not buy their unreliable products. Customer support is horrible, and impossible to reach. My new water heater broke down after 1 year of installation. I called their customer support, they hung up on me after waiting for an hour and half to talk to them and mind you I called them at 8:30 AM. The next time I called I had to wait 3 hours. If the average waiting time is 2:20 hours then maybe just maybe you should hire more tech support!!! Or maybe stop selling cheaply made equipment!

Hot water heater pilot light problem. I purchased a hot water heater on October 21, 2015 and on January 14 no hot water! I was told to call our local gas provider PG&E. The service technician for Pacific Gas & Electric arrived at my house Saturday, January 16 and stated that the water heater was no longer good. I then on the same day went to Home Depot with my receipt and the statement from Pacific Gas and Electric. I was then told that they would not take it back. A Home Depot employee told me I would have to call the manufacturer and gave me the phone number. The employee from Home Depot stated that the manufacturer would have to give Home Depot permission to accept the defaulted product. On January 20, 2016, I called the manufacturer and described to him what had happened and read the Pacific Gas & Electric statement to him and he said that they would not allow Home Depot to take it back and exchange it. The employee that I spoke to you from the manufacturer stated that he could mail me some parts or something. I then told him that as a consumer and from what my statement from my local gas company states the product is defaulted.

Your product and customer service is a complete joke. I purchased one of your hot water heater in March. From day one we had problems. Finally after a week of no hot water and your customer service department playing games and the service company you referred playing games, we were able to get a new hot water heater. With that said, that hot water heater has been leaking since day one. I called and they sent me out a replacement part but, still it is leaking. I then called in today and spoke to a miserable supervisor named, Shakir.I called to get service along with request that my warranty that will expire in March be extended. He was rude and to the point of advising no and that he will get the service company out. For 2 hot water heaters to go in less than a 9 month period. What is that saying about your product. Also not extending the warranty even shows your own company doesnt stand behind its own product. Unbelievable! I will never purchase anything with your name attached to anything again!

Spoke to 4 people and the last person I spoke to was so rude and refused to let me speak to a manager. Im out $1500 for a water heater that last 3 months. This is complete ** and not sure how you guys still have a company. I will do everything in my power to make sure everyone knows my issues. And after looking into it Im not the only one with this issue. You guys should be ashamed to have such a ** company. And to take advantage of people in times like this. 100% the worst company I have ever dealt with. And to not be able to speak to a manager and I even let them know I have numerous emails since February 2021 regarding this issue. I have all my documents of all conversations. So this will be taken to the next step.

I have a small apartment building that was serviced by a 40 gal water heater for over 10 years without one problem. In the last 2 years I bought a 40 gal Rheem water heater and it failed. I was told it was too small, so I purchased a 50 gal Rheem water heater which failed in 6 months. They sent me parts and it failed 2 additional times. Each time requiring a whole new boiler, valve, and thermostat assembly. My question is how did one 40 gal last 10 years and I can’t get 3 years out of a water heater with new technology and a larger capacity? My calls to Rheem were in excess of 30 minute wait times and 20 + callers ahead of me. Another bad sign!

Model # 22VR40FN - Water heater needed repair after just a few years of service. Had to pay $235.00 for a tech to repair. Rheem makes you jump through hoops just to try to get a $45.00 parts reimbursement covered by their warranty. Almost 40 minutes on phone, repair invoice from plumber marked paid with our check number on it sent previously but I guess, not enough (insulting), image of both sides of our cancelled check needed as additional proof of repair. So that means more time wasted - special trip to bank to get cancelled check copy. Will never buy a Rheem product again. Never a problem other than age with the other water heaters Ive owned in my lifetime. Generally speaking, theyve all lasted 12-15 years without repair or failure.

Well thought I was making a good purchase. The first electric water heater that I bought had the element go out twice. The first time they came and repaired it. Now the heater was only 6 months old on the first repair. After that not even a month passed and the element went out again with water also leaking everywhere. So after that on the third visit they notice that the element was not screwed in right causing it to leak again. They replace it with a newer model that was going to be better but my luck, one week into it and eco goes out. They send the part. Had to wait a week for it just for the repairman to put it on and now my breaker is jumping. The repairman then tells me thats its probably my breaker. Hint my breaker had never jumped having the first water heater. So technically the repair did an incomplete job because I still have no hot running water. Now customers services doesnt want to deal with my wife. It is up to you if you think its worth buying this product. But I will never buy from them again. Not worth dealing with the repair people and their customers services. Best of luck if you buy.

Summary: $1,500 water heater was declared a lemon by Rheems tech support -- Rheem will not issue a full refund. I purchased a 50 gallon Rheem water heater (PROPG50-40N RH67 PD) from an authorized Rheem dealer, Johnson Thermol Temp Inc., Washington, MI. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi feature, used to raise/lower the water temperature from a smartphone, never worked consistently. After a seemingly random period of time (a few hours to a week) the Wi-Fi connection would drop, resulting in lukewarm-to-cold showers.During the next several months I placed many calls and invested dozens of hours of personal time working with Rheems tech support. To prove my home network wasnt the issue I was required to purchase and install two different Wi-Fi extenders. Rheem/Johnson Thermal made several attempts to troubleshoot the problem. They replaced the Wi-Fi unit. They replaced the gas valve three times. Nothing worked. Unable to solve the problem Rheems tech support declared the water heater a lemon (their words, not mine, case number 3137948) and told me to return it and Johnson Thermal would provide a refund.Johnson Thermal took the water heater back. A few weeks passed; no refund. After two more phone calls to Johnson Thermal and another week went by I received a partial, $700 refund. Attempts to discuss the refund amount with Rheem failed. I placed two calls to their warranty group. Both times I was told that the manager was not available but would call back. Neither call was returned. Attempts to discuss the refund amount with Johnson Thermal failed. I placed a call to the manager -- it was not returned. A partial refund is not acceptable for a water heater that *never* worked properly. My expectation was/is for a full, $1500 refund.

We installed a brand new Richmond 40 Gallon (Rheem) water heater which we purchased from Menards. It has a faulty Thermal shank. This has left me (and a renter) out of hot water for 3 days, while waiting for the part to arrive. Unfortunately no one has the part in town and there are no service technicians for the Saint Paul Minnesota area. I have called 15 plumbers off the list that was sent to me and I had difficulty finding one who will come out on short notice. I will not trust that I can have someone arrive after hours (@$259 an hour) and still be reimbursed. I will have a person tomorrow morning, but that means I will literally be boiling water for my renters bath. I am not looking forward to the paperwork I need to fill out for my claim. And I am disappointed that I will need to wait for my check to clear as proof of payment before finishing my claim. This is just more of a time delay to an already time consuming situation. This purchase has hurt my rental business. I will encourage others to buy another brand - especially Rental Managers and landlords who cant afford this type of hassle. I wish I could have just returned the product, but it is already filled with water and the gas and water lines are installed. I dont dare try to haul it back to the store for fear that it would be damaged on the way and then Id have an even bigger drama on my hands. And one more frustrating bit to this is the wait time when calling in. It was near a half hour. (Though the service line is faster).

I bought a 75 gallons water heater and it stopped working in 6 months. Contacted Rheem to have it fixed. And they sent me replacement parts while claimed that my labor warranty is not available (on the heaters specification and receipt stated 1 year labor and 6 years parts warranty). They took almost a month to have this issue solved with multiple parts sent. 6 months later, the heater failed again. I bought a Rheem water heater in June. Well 5 months later, it started showing errors on the gas control. Also I would sometimes have hot water and other times I would not. Had their service techs come and try and fix. Called Rheem Numerous times and they said it was the gas control and sent me a new one. The tech comes over and installs the new gas control and guess what still doesnt work and I have no hot water. I call Rheem and they say we will send you another gas control. I say you just sent me a brand new one. He says Yes I know. I say I have a family with no hot water for two weeks now and I want you to get me a new water heater under the warranty as its only 5 months old. Rheem says no we wont do that. So I had to buy another water heater and not Rheem of course because I had no hot water heater that would work and all three techs said they couldnt fix it and Rheem wouldnt replace it. Rheem doesnt stand by their warranty. I called Rheem again and told them Im going to have to take them to small claims court and they said ok, good luck to you. This company is horrible and doesnt stand by their work or warranty. I asked them to reimburse me for the water heater and they said no.

Alright, so after having bought a home (Spring, 2017) My water Heater started failing (which was okay with me, its a new house, things fail, it was still under warranty, but I wanted longer showers). So, I bought a new one. Within 3 days, the water heater failed, knocked out my power, and began leaking from the electrical components. Yep. So, I called, and emailed, to get it replaced. After having spent a non-consecutive time span of 15 hours on hold between Rheem and Home Depot, I was continuously growing more and more frustrated. FINALLY, a poor customer service girl, who spent around 45 minutes of her day at Home Depot, had to jump through about a thousand hoops--2 months later. Yep, because of these people, I had been 2 months without hot water, and all of the fun that that brings (YAY!). That was over two weeks ago.Two days ago, I received my new water heater--sorta. They botched the delivery. It was supposed to be delivered to my house, but instead, they shipped it to Home ** Depot, so I had to scramble out of work, and go pick up the thing--did I mention it was delivered a day late? On my work Monday, and I do not work in an industry where you can just pick up and go. I open the box to find, a dent about the size of a baseball, or so--but it gets better. The box was undamaged. They had to ship it in this condition, knowingly. I have emailed them, I have tried calling them, but I have yet to hear back.I am appalled, by this level of unprofessionalism, and lack of quality oversight. And after reading the preceding reviews, I can assure anyone who reads this, that Rheem will never, ever receive any of my business, ever again, and I do not understand why anyone would give them theirs. Go for GE, or Westinghouse, or something else and save yourself the trouble; at least their products sometimes work, and their staff has the decency to at least lie to you.

Rheem Marathon water heaters come with a lifetime warranty. A licensed plumber installed this water heater just under a year ago. The heater began making loud noises, like a metal object was hitting another piece of metal. I called the same plumber back to check on the noise. He examined the heater thoroughly and found nothing that would have caused this problem to arise. He asked me to call Rheem Customer Service to see if they could explain and offer a solution to the noise. (The noise has no relation to water use, time of day, or any other variable I could think of). My first call was answered by Lori, who asked for my serial number, then told me to adjust the flue baffle and that would eliminate the noise. She was in a hurry to get off the call. The electric Marathon has no baffle. My second call was answered by Valerie, who also took my serial number. I specifically told her the heater was electric. She then told me to take off the two covers on the front, determine which light was on when the noise occurred, then call her back with the information. I took off the covers to find that there are no lights. She was also interested in ending the call. My third call was answered by Nick, who apologized for the other two agents of Rheem, which he could see from the record of calls I had made previously. He suggested draining the tank to see if that would eliminate the noise. I asked the plumber about this and he stated that there would be no need to drain the tank given its age. So I am left with either calling Rheem yet again for what appears to be sketchy advise or learning to live with the noise.Rheems Customer Service seems to be time on the phone driven: when you get a trouble call, give some kind of answer and get off the phone as soon as possible. Not a good system to encourage customers to buy any Rheem product in the future. Their responses to my problem seem to treat the Lifetime Warranty as a mere piece of paper used as a sales aid only. Beware of Rheem products!

We have a five year old tankless water heater. The gas control valve went out. We were told this rarely happens. There is only a five year warranty on parts and we missed the deadline by four months. Rheem customer service rep was very rude. Our plumber recommended Rheem because they had a reputation for good products and parts. I wished I would have researched instead of taking his word for it. I would never buy a Rheem product again.

I purchased Rheem water heater in May 2017 form Home Depot. After installation it didnt heat water in 24 Hrs. $350 paid to plumber. Then go back again to HD and buy another one which also after another $350 installation stopped working after a day. Plumber has no clue how to debug this as the unit is completely closed, no way to see if even pilot light is on. It has 5 LEDs but the code can be deciphered into many different things that could be wrong. Then my property manager cleaned the blower and it worked again for 15 months. It seems just by sitting in Home Depot it collects dust in the blower. Then when it stops to run again after 15 months, I get another supposedly Rheem certified plumber to debug it and pay $195 to basically get bad reviews of Rheem and no real debug information. I call Rheem many times and get a part shipped by them which again after calling the plumber and paying $200 doesnt work. I then start to debug it myself with tech support and this time they want to send me blower. By now 5 days have gone by with tech support, Fed Ex shipment, etc. But they miss sending me the blower and I lose one more day. By now I have lost over $700 dollars on plumbers for this Rheem water heater. I call the tech support, give them piece of my mind and of course she has no empathy for me and escalates the call. The customer support manager is very well trained (A+), listens to my frustration, empathize with me, apologizes and reacts right away by authorizing a return to HD. So, I go to HD and after spending another 1.5 Hrs I could return it with help of a plumber (spend money again on the plumber). But I did get back full refund of $965 + Tax for the water heater in Home Depot store credit (not the best option but better than nothing). I am overall very unhappy with Rheems quality but I doubt if any other brand is any better. It seems A. O. Smith is also as bad. I have taken a leap of faith now on Bradford White as thats what my plumber sells and installs. So, basically I am out about $1100 dollar for choosing Rheem (2 installations, 2 repair visits) plus so much grief and days without hot water.

Reported problem to Rheem who requested service invoice, electricians license number, phone number, serial number, model number, and proof of service payment. Twice I sent Rheem requested information. Twice Rheem requested the same information. To date, Rheem has not reimbursed me for service and has been unwilling to process claim. It happen over a weekend so that was 4 days no hot water. Here we are 4 months later and the hot water heater wont stay lit again. Weve been on hold the whole day waiting for a customer service personnel that never answered the phone. I finally hung up around 3:30 p.m. to call back and find out that they are now closed. Are so many people unhappy with their water heaters that I couldnt even talk to a person? Guess so. Ive given up. I guess Im out of the $792 I spent because Im buying a different new water heater. I have been trying to deal with this problem for four days now. I called Rheem company several times today and was given divergent information. They gave me the number of installers, which then asked me to get a work order. I called Rheem they said they sent the order but it got refused. I called installer back again and conference called Rheem which then said that I would have to call the distributor instead. I was finally able to locate the distributor, who said they would be able to replace the water heater for a $150 service (provided I transport the old/new tanks). But they requested a voucher or authorization in order to provide me with a water heater replacement. I called Rheem 800 number yet again and the person transferred me to the warranty department which is now closed for business. Im going to be yet without hot water for another weekend. This is horrible customer service, giving me the running around!!! The water heater is less than a year old!

After explaining what was happening, They reassured me that they would have someone come out and call me tomorrow. That never happened! Purchased a water heater 5/26/20 and it stopped working within 10 months. Called company and they stated that a part in water heater was faulty and they would replace it. They sent me an e-mail that I was able to pay up to $450 for product and installation. Needless to say, the contractors that I spoke to, laughed at that amount. Plus, I could not get any of their contractors out for at least another 2-5 days. I called back and spoke with a supervisor who said I could take it back to store and get replacement. I told her I did not have receipt but I did purchase date and product registration. She said that would not be a problem because they have the ability to look that up in their system. The store only prorated the product. I called again and spoke to another supervisor, Mike #**. I told him that the price difference it ended up costing me was $65.42. He said they would not be able to reimburse me because I didnt have original receipt. I told him that the supervisor I talked to previously said it would not cost me anything. I exchanged the water heater for the EXACT same water heater and they would not reimburse me that difference. Now Im told that I will receive an e-mail in a couple of days telling me how to get a part a couple of days after that. That means no hot water for six days. Request to speak to a supervisor. After 30 minutes on hold, I get tier 2 support - just another call center. Told that the warehouse is closed at 3:00 pm and the part might ship tomorrow - meaning only five days with no hot water - If they really do ship the part and it isnt defective - which some other posts suggest it might be. After we get the order squared away I ask if someone is going to come and install this new part and they told me a service contract we had expired in Sept. 2021. I told them since they screwed us and didnt place our order the first time they should come install this for us anyways and they said THEY CANT. Plumber came back later to see what was wrong. Plumber contacted Rheem and explained what was going on with the water heater. Rheem told him it was defective and gave him a case number. They also told him a plumbing company in Maryland would handle checking out the heater to see if it could be repaired. By the way, I live in Georgia! Plumbing company in Maryland told my plumber they did not have a work order for my water heater. My plumber contacted Rheem at least ten times concerning the heater. Rheem could find the case number, but could never find any paperwork concerning my plumber contacting them. They put the burden on me by telling me to find a licensed plumber and having the heater repaired and then they would reimburse me. Is this the best they can do to stand behind their product? In Feb. 2014 my home warranty company who by their very nature replace cove
In Feb. 2014 my home warranty company who by their very nature replace covered parts with the cheapest product they can. That’s an issue in and of itself. Sent out a technician who replaced the previous failed water heater with a Rheem 48 gallon tank made in Mexico. It states it right on the model number and serial number sticker. This tank came with a 6 year limited warranty. On 6/28/2020 the tank failed and was leaking out the bottom, luckily I caught it quickly and was able to shut off the water and attach a hose to the tank and drain it before further water damage could occur. I called a plumber who came out first thing in the morning and he took one look at it and confirmed what I knew that it had to be replaced. I asked why this would fail within five months of being out of warranty and he informed me that Rheem is a consumer grade product that’s not very good. As he disconnected the unit and wheeled it away, a stream of red colored water followed it as it exited my garage. I asked the plumber if that was rust and he confirmed that it was.I asked if my whole house water filtration system could have helped the unit fail faster as salt is used in the filtration process. He and my filtration company whom I already had scheduled to come out that day to change our filter medium, both confirmed that this would not have caused this and more so would have helped prolong the system as no sediment would build in the tank.Plumber installed a new tank made in America and told me that this was a solid tank and should easily last 10 years. I contacted the Rheem warranty department and explained my situation and the front line rep stated since I was out of warranty there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak with a supervisor as I felt this was just a few months past warranty and how it failed seemed like planned obsolescence.A supervisor called me the next day and I explained my plight and asked if Rheem could do something given the circumstances. The supervisor stuck to his story and kept referring back to the warranty and that he couldn’t do anything. I even asked if they could do some form of partial compensation as I was out $1800 for the new tank and install. He kept to his company line and stated he couldn’t do anything. In business you can ALWAYS do something, especially for exception situations where it’s clear your product failed sooner then it should have. I asked the supervisor if he truly couldn’t do something or is it more the case he wouldn’t do something. That was a little to close to home and we promptly ended the call as I knew I was dealing with a terrible manufacturer who they and companies like them are more concerned with profits then manufacturing and standing behind their product.Rheem is a common brand sold at Home Depot and Lowe’s outlets. My plumber would never touch them because of their shoddy manufacturing. Rheem is a key example of the current discordant atmosphere in this country as their business practices are focused on greed, period. Use cheap labor in Mexico, less than adequate materials for the purpose of the product and make their margins by mass volume through these national retailers. Staff your customer service with minimum wage or barely over minimum wage to dodge claim calls and ultimately only compensate as few claims as possible. It’s more cost effective to staff customer service and train them to avoid claim fulfillment than it is to make good when their products fail. This company should be shut down, liquidate all its assets, attempt compensate customers who were in warranty and denied and proceed down the list as best as possible. Residual if any, should then be used to fund a start up in either America or Mexico or both and bring in best in class manufacturing processes to produce a truly viable product that the new company will stand behind. DON’T BUY OR INSTALL A RHEEM WATER HEATER. Install a better quality tank and pay the extra cost. You will easily recover that cost in performance as well as not having to deal with costs of home and property damage from a failed tank.

I just got gas hot water heater in October 2015 and already having problem with unit. Called to get technician to come and look at - only be told technician will not come in my area. So now I have to come out of my pocket to have someone replace a part when I am under warranty and be reimbursed within 4 to 6 weeks. First I advise not to go through Home depot cause even though they install, they do not service. Secondly, run when you hear Rheem. I thought one of top companies for heaters, but found customer service practices nightmarish. Why would you ever do business with technicians who would not service your customer areas. I will be writing whomever I have to, because that is just lousy customer service. The customer have to find a technician to fulfill the labor part of the warranty. Whatever happened to our country where you buy a product and a so called solid company stands behind it and makes the customer experience pleasant at best. I should have gone through PSEG - at least I know I could get service in my area. Just a damn shame.

Manufactured Sept 4, 2018; failed October 9, 2018 - I thought I bought a premium water heater with a good reputation and service. The lower heating element failed (error code A105), which they say they will send me, and then I can either hire a technician to replace it or I can empty the water heater and do it myself. This is not the warranty I expected. This water heater was just installed, and they sent a bad product. I expect Rheem to bear the entire cost of fixing it in the first year -- not to send junk and make a customer bear the cost of repairing their mistake.

I bought my water less than a year ago and a defective part made the heater stop working. I called the number on the warranty and got a complete run around for 2 hours kept transferring from one to other. They told me final that in two days they would send some out. The company they said they called didnt get the request for three days and said they couldnt come out for a week anyway. Rheem told me to call my own plumber to fix problem and they would reimburse me. I did what they asked, sent all documents to them, they replied. It will take 6 to 8 weeks for a refund. Needless to say as of today June 11, 2021 I have not received my refund after countless emails. What do I do, please advise. This started in March 2021. Thank you.

I bought a Rheem water heater 3 weeks ago. Installation went well. But then the pilot light went out the next morning. I restarted it right away. After 1-3 days it keeps going out. It never stays lit. I called Rheem - they told me that they would replace it or fix it. They told me to get a plumber to come out. The plumber called up Rheem and told them that everything was hooked up properly but it is not working correctly - that it needs to be replaced. They told them that there was a tiny leak in the water that they tighten and fixed instantly but it had nothing to do with the problem. Rheem told them that it is not covered now because there was a water leak. I cant even begin to tell you how small this leak was. It was nothing. Rheem was just looking for any excuse not to replace it. They are such a joke.I would never buy another Rheem - I would never recommend one. My plumber kept telling them that the water had nothing to do with why this is not working. But they didnt care. They told me to go buy another one. Horrible customer service. Horrible product. Stay away from Rheem. Even my plumber told me that I should have read more reviews - most of their repairs are for Rheem.

This company was rated highly, but then they started having their product made in China. After 4 years our water heater started leaking. It is covered under warranty, but not installation. Rheem does not honor their warranty. My plumber installed two Rheem water heaters in my two family and it worked great for two years. Three months ago, one of them burst at the bottom and flooded my basement. It was not a problem because I got 6 or 7-year warranty on the product. I then called Rheem they confirmed that the product is under warranty. They gave me a return number and advised me that I should take the defective heater back to where I purchased it.The contractor took it back but the distributor where it was originally purchased said that they will not exchange. I contacted Rheem and they told me to try another distributor--same thing, no exchanges. I called several more and asked Rheem if they could ship me one they said no. This has been ongoing for three months so I eventually contacted the BBB. Rheem said that they would give me a fair market value. This turns out to be about $400 when a new heater cost is about $800--not fair at all. Please do not purchase from Rheem because they do not honor their warranty. I purchased a different brand to replace the defective one. You will get ** when your heater fails. I had to pay an additional $400 for a new heater.

I hope future customers read and take heed. Dont buy a Rheem hot water heater if you desire a good product and even fair customer service. I have waited since July for a refund check, that I had to pay ($225.00) to the contractor. He refuses to work with RHEEM. I can see why! He only worked on mine because I am a regular customer. Today (2 months later) I called to find out WHEN I should be getting a check. I was told 4-8 MORE weeks. Because I didnt submit my cancelled check with my claim - therefore - it hasnt even been processed. No call from them to tell me I needed to send cancelled checks. That shouldnt be any of their business. SO HERE I SIT - at least I have hot water now, BUT for how long? Who Knows????

I tried to leave a review on Home Depots website about my negative experience with Rheem water heaters. Both times my review was not accepted due to not meeting quality guidelines. Im starting to wonder how many other reviews arent showing from their site. We have had a lot of experience with Rheem. They used to make one of the best water heaters available even though they made all of the GE water heaters that had so many quality issues, the Rheem tank brand was still a good tank. Since Rheem no longer makes water heaters for GE and now has the Home Depot contract they have folded many cheap tanks into them.On two separate occasions we had purchases a Rheem short 40 gallon water heater when a standard water heater would not fit. Both times we made the long haul of getting the tank and just as we got them out of the box we found big dents on both heaters. They had to be returned because while it was only the shell that was damaged, we had concerns about the condition of the glass liner.

I have RUUD tankless water heater (Model # RUTGH-950VN). On June 25th, 2016, it started leaking continuously. Since customer service was closed for that day (8:30 PM), I called the customer service on the following day! As soon as I told them that the water heater is leaking, they told me to send them the photos of the water heater before any further assistance. Once they received the photos they told me that I have to take the water heater to the dealer, from where I bought it. Since it was under warranty, Ill get a new one from the dealer. On June 27th, my plumber took it to the dealer. Since that model was not in stock, the dealer told me that it will arrive on July 1st, 2016.But on July 1st I came to know that the tankless water heater will only be shipped on 10th July (!!), and the dealer will receive it on July14th, 2016. So I contacted the Rheem customer service to complain. They (a male) told me that they cant do anything about shipping. It is out of their control. I had not hot water for all these days. I waited one more week and again contacted the Rheem customer service on July 6th, 2016. This time a new representative (female) told me that it is unacceptable that I am waiting for the water heater for so long. She told me that the required model is in stock. Since we were expecting the heater by July 14th, there is no point in shipping one more heater directly to the customer. Resigned, I decided to wait for one more week (thankfully it is summer). But July 14th came and went. Still no water heater at the dealer!! So I decided to contact THE CUSTOMER SERVICE again. This time lady told me that they never take care of the shipping and they cant if the heater has shipped from warehouse. I would never buy Rheem water heater again. Meanwhile I am still waiting for the new water heater from Rheem. I still dont have hot water at home and I have three small kids.

Hands down the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with in my lifetime. Not only do they have you holding on the phone for hours and when I mean hours I mean whole hours, they cant even assist or communicate reimbursement procedure effectively. After being told by one representative that he would be sending an email with how to submit for reimbursement within hours, I had to call back after a few days to advise I did not receive such email. Another rep advised the reason I didnt receive the email was that they did not have the necessary voucher to send...so why not say that from the first call or someone reach out me to advise instead of me waiting on an email that was never to arrive. As we speak Im literally on hold for what seems like another hour just to speak to a manager. P.s. This is all due to a defective part on a water heater that was installed less than year ago.

I have purchased Rheem Tankless Water Heater. Their warranty states 5 years. My heater broke recently and had to be replaced. Rheem renewed their water heater since my purchase and new unit had to be installed. Even though it was under warranty I was charged $100 extra to get the new unit. Their warranty is not really good if they charge you for the new unit especially when there is an issue with their own equipment. On top of that I had to pay labor again which was not covered under the warranty and I understood. I contacted Rheem directly, however, they pointed me to their distributors and it is not up to Rheem while the distributor clearly pointed to Rheem.

My Rheem 50 gallon water heater started leaking after 4 years and was replaced. Rheem refused to honor the their warranty, mind you the heater broke after 4 years! We also have a water softener to mitigate leak issues. Left on hold multiple times for long periods. Obviously symptomatic of the many issues with their cheaply made products. Would never buy from this company again and recommend avoiding at all costs. Their reps are not courteous and don’t give a crap. Rheem wanted me to bring back the broken water heater to the place of purchase. Of course the previous plumber who installed it bought it so no clue where they purchased. Why would I need to return a broken water heater??? Answer, to make it difficult for customers to get compensated. The warranty is terrible and not worth the paper its printed on but more importantly, the water heater broke after only 4 years. Terrible product, customer service and terrible company.

I just acquired a new hot water heater and wanted to learn more about preventative maintenance needed to prolong its useful life. One agent was helping me with ensuring warranty dates are accurate as their records show warranty start date as date of manufacture. Date of install is 5 months later.. They have a website for registration but that did not help update their warranty records. He told me to use their website again. I told him I already did that and nothing changed. Then, he said all I had to do reply to his email with copies of invoices and extended warranty info and all will be taken care of. A day later, nothing. So I called back and somebody else says she will look into it, update records and EMAILl me a screenshot to show it is done. No email received but warranty record was updated to correct start at date of install but did not include extended warranty date of additional 4 years. So now I have to call them back regarding this. Why is it so hard?In addition, I wanted to buy extra anode rods (secondary, connected to HOT WATER Side) so that I have them readily available 5 years or so from now. That seems to be a VERY complicated process. Always requires Serial number which is totally irrelevant. All manufacturers anode rods are universal. Difference is length of rod, length of nipple (for those that are installed in the HOT WATER side of the tank) and material composition. After half a dozen emails back and forth, still no info as to how I can get the anode rod needed. I even gave them part numbers and they told me to contact another department as the department I contacted do not handle customer service inquiries, just website related. HUH???Another customer service rep emailed me instruction on how to maintain as well as user manual. I thanked him for it, asked him more questions, and.... NO RESPONSE since then.. A couple of follow up emails and still no. WHY? Frankly, I worry about the service I will be getting from this company when something really wrong happens.. I may have made a mistake buying their stuff. Their A/C unit is outstanding. Water heater is another story as I had problems with inaccurate thermostat BUT, to their credit a new thermostat was immediately sent and that fixed my problem. I worry what else will go wrong and the runaround I will get. Caveat Emptor !!!

I had completed construction of my new home in 2001 with a 40 gallon Rheem water heater. It lasted until mid year 2012 at which time it developed a leak in the side of the tank about half way down from the top. I was surprised that it only lasted eleven years when past experience was more like 20 to 25 years. I purchased a Rheem 50 gallon water heater on 6-20-12 and immediately experienced trouble with the lower element leaking. The plumber came out and removed the element, cleaned everything and put it back together with Teflon sealer. I notified Rheem, but no one ever returned my call. Yesterday, 11-27-17 I noticed water in the containment pan. I pulled the lower cover and found the lower element leaking again. I tried to reach Rheem customer service with no luck! I strongly recommend avoiding Rheem Manufacturing water heaters. Looking around on the internet, I am not the only one who feels this way. What a terrible company.

No parts were available from any supply house and Rheem was not answering phone. I talked Home Depot into an exchange and I got new electronic brain. I still have same problem and have been on hold for 30 min. now. They say I have $125 limit for in home repairs and I have two trips for repair now. New brain being sent. 6 hours of time dealing with this. Over 2 hours on hold and a hour just calling with no answer. New unit still not working correct for a month. I bought a Rheem water heater in May 2017 from Home Depot. 7 months later it failed right on Christmas Eve. I called Rheem and the warranty part was sent quickly, but since they could not find any contractor in my area to do the work, they said I can use anyone local. I filled out the warranty claim and sent all the required paperwork back on Jan 2nd, 2018. First they said itll take 6 - 8 weeks to process the claim. Its now 2 1/2 month (March 16th, 2018) and my claim was still not processed. The last time Ive called, I was told that they were back-up in the warranty claim department (wow... imagine how many units have failed that could create such a back-up), but since its more than 8 weeks, theyll expedite my claim. Guess what, expedite or not, my claim is still in limbo somewhere. Very disappointed with how Rheem handles customer claim. No wonder no contractor in my area wants to work with Rheem. People, please dont buy Rheem, not worth it when you have to be hold 45 minutes on the phone with them or call them every month to check on your warranty claim just to hear the same excuse.

My son who lives out of state does home repair and said it was a 15-minute job. I am trying to order the party under warranty but that is not going well. I bought a gas water heater at Home Depot by Rheem about 1 1/2 year ago. It failed, Rheem labels the water heater not to take the water heater back to Home Depot but, to troubleshoot the problem thru the phone with them, after they “think” they know what the problem is, they mail you parts for you as a customer, replace them (like the customer is a plumber or a technician). It didnt work the first time, troubleshooting thru the phone again, now they thought they knew what the problem is, send another part, replace it. It worked for 2 month, and failed again. Call a third time, troubleshoot, then they authorized to take the water heater back to Home Depot for a partial credit... after everything you have to go thru, not having hot water for 2 weeks, paying a plumber for all the labor, taking the water heater back to Home Depot. Tankless water heater would work for few weeks then start flashing error code 11 or 12 on the monitor, and no hot water. This issue continued on and off for a while and now, it has gotten worst. Weve contacted Rheem customer care several times and each time, they all seem to tell us different reason for our problem. It really is a challenge trying to see if we will have hot water each day. Just recently, Rheem representative told my husband the gas line pipe is the wrong size. Thats not true because weve already checked the line, valve, gas flow, etc. They dont know what the heck they are talking about. They must read the problem manual given to them when they were hired. Weve also had Rheem authorize repairer looked at it. They have no idea what or how to fix this problem. Between Rheem customer care and Rheem authorized repairer, I dont know which one is worse because they are just one sorry ** after another. My husband and I are seriously thinking about switching back to the good, old-fashion water heater because we never had any problem with it. When our friends talk about installing tankless water heater, we tell them dont get Rheem tankless water heater because it sucks!

We have had nothing but problems with our Rheem tankless hot water heater.
We have had nothing but problems with our Rheem tankless hot water heater. Right now at this moment we are without hot water and have been so for almost 2 weeks now. Our unit is under warranty and needs to be replaced. Rheem did send us the vent kit, but no heater. We have called customer service. The first two ladies we spoke to were nice then we were transferred to another lady that was quite rude and absolutely no help at all. She told us that we need to contact the parts service department, our problem isnt HER problem. On the phone for hours with no results. Our plumber is at his wits end dealing with this company. We were told to go to Menards and purchase a new heater ourselves and Rheem would reimburse us for the cost. Yeah right! Rheem needs to send the unit, because I do not trust that they will reimburse us after all the trouble we have had getting anything out of them. We are still under warranty! We have company coming for Thanksgiving and no hot water! Im snapping and so sorry we ever went with Rheem. We are so disappointed in this company and the way they treat their customers. My advice to anyone considering a tankless, DO NOT BUY ONE FROM RHEEM!!!

Bought new water heater Tuesday, got the 9 year warranty. Guess what, new water heater doesnt work. Friday called toll free number see if warranty would cover parts that need to be replaced and work. Rheem calls back to inform us that we live too far away from a tech to send one. That we would have to call the plumber ourselves and pay for all work. We then send the invoice to Rheem and they decide if they will reimburse us for it, but only up to $125.

While we understand the terms of a warranty, when a product dies only a few months after the warranty expires it is extraordinarily disappointing. When we spoke to Rheem about this matter and were concerned about what appears to be a planned obsolescence of a product, they could have cared less. They were disrespectful and rude. Given the option to purchase another water heater in the future we will NOT use Rheem. And when we checked at the local Home Depot we find their warranty which was 9 years has now been reduced to 6 years. And based on their previous warranty if you purchase a Rheem expect it to die around 6 years and a few months. Sad and disappointing.

Recently purchased a home (Feb 2018). The seller replaced all appliances prior to selling including a Rheem water heater. The water heater became defective in less than a year. The company refuses to honor its 12 year warranty for the product installed less than a year ago due to the fact I am not the original purchaser of the unit. What happened to companies standing behind their products? I started looking at reviews and have found very few that have been positive about this household name company. Will not be purchasing any products from Rheem in the future. Very disappointed.

10/11/19 I bought a Rheem 50 gallon hot water heater with a 10-year warranty. Model #: PROE50 T2 RH95. Serial #: Q401935323. 10-Year Warranty #:02-0415647. Installation by the Water Heater Guys was done professionally. When I tried to register the 10-year warranty, it was entered incorrectly as a 6-year warranty. Both Rheem & The Hot Water Heater Guys say they agree that I have a 10-year warranty, but my registration can’t be changed to show it. I must keep my water heater stickers & invoices to prove I bought it with a 10-year warranty, if I ever need it. Sound true? It is!

My water heater was recalled due to fire hazard. I was informed by Rheem that the control panel they normally provide (free of charge) is back-ordered with no ETA. I was told that I had to return the faulty water heater to the point of purchase for a new one. I got the exact model, just a few years newer and had to pay ~$500 more for the new one, okay fine. Here is where it gets bad. Rheems deal was to reimburse me the installation fee up to $450. I provided all of the necessary paperwork, filled out their forms as instructed and have email confirmation that my reimbursement is approved and a check would be mailed to me in 6-8 weeks. Here we are over 10 weeks later, and counting, and no word from Rheem. They will not respond to my emails and I cannot reach anyone on the phone. What started as their faulty product, barely halfway into the products warranty, should have been a free fix has ended up costing me well over a $1,200! I would have been better off to cut my losses and purchase a water heater from a different manufacture, which is exactly what I will do when this one craps out before the warranty period is up. I held up my end of the deal, they will not hold up theirs.

I have had a hot water heater from Rheem for under 2 years now and first my pilot light and igniter went out. I thought nothing of it. I continued to relight the pilot light and it worked. After about a 2 weeks or so I was down in my basement and smelt gas. I was alarmed I called Elizabeth Town Gas, and they told me to evacuate my house. I did. With that being said I found out that the tubing coupling was sliced. I called Rheem for replacement parts. First they sent out the pilot light igniter. Now that we know that the coupling is sliced we called Rheem and it has been a week for them to ship out this part. I live on the East Coast, where Rheem is located, there has been no tracking number. The replacement part is in stock, says one of the assistants from the call center. But still no replacement part. With two kids and one parent this is tough on me. Working multiple jobs and coming home to no hot water to bathe and any household chores. This has been a struggle.

The Rheem 40 gallon gas water heater never worked properly, temperature could not be adjusted and stayed at 120 degrees, even in low or vacation mode. Customer service had 45 hold time, but finally sent out a local plumber, who believed it was a faulty temperature controller. I again had difficulty getting to Rheem customer service, but they ordered a new temperature controller which was installed by a local plumber. After running hot water for a considerable time with controller in vacation mode the temperature dropped but stayed above the 91 degree stated in owners manual. The next morning I ran hot water on a home thermometer and the temperature shot up to 120 degree, the maximum the thermometer could read. Now I must call to get a third plumber out to correct situation. The owner manual does not say it is a Rheem water heater and it appear to be the same water heater at Home Depot and Lowes. Also the owner manual shows the temperature controller to be a brand name Honeywell but the controller provided appears to be the same, only the Honeywell name is missing. Bottom line; I will not buy another Rheem water heater.

Very displeased with Rheem warranty experience. My water heater burned up and it was a part of a warranty claim. I called and was sent an email and opened up original case where I sent pictures of my burnt up water heater (which I still have my pictures) which this water heater was 4 years old and a part of a recall. After I sent in the pictures I had talked to a lady in regards to getting the pictures. She mentioned that it was really bad and Rheem was going to send me an email so then I can go to Home Depot and find an equivalent water heater at no charge. But when I called in the next day no one had any clue what I was talking about and sent me an email but they started a new case. Which is really odd they would give me a new case number... they must have gave me a new case number since they didn’t want help out with a recalled product. The second case number I got the email that mentioned I am now getting a new part instead of getting a new electric water heater. I have yet to see this supposed part that was issued. There is no way anyone can go this long without a water heater... literally 1 1/2 months. I am truly disappointed with the customer service and time it is taking for this to get taken care of. I had to go out and buy a brand new water heater because I couldn’t wait that long for the part to come in and this was issued 4/28... I had to spend over $600 dollars on this new unit as well as a $250 labor charge for them to remove and replace the new unit. It is pretty sad because when I first sent the picture I was told that because it was burnt up badly that I should be getting an email in regards to an approval to go to Home Depot and find an equivalent one at no charge. But when I called since I didn’t receive the email on the approval to go to Home Depot to get an equivalent one. I called then a new case easy wrote up and they were supposed to send a part. I am very unhappy with the customer service since pretty much nothing has been done to get this fixed fast enough done. This went out 4/23... and it is now 6/15 and I still have not gotten any response back from Rheem. No one ever get Rheem product since they are not helpful at all. This needs to get straightened out because there is no help at all because I am out a lot of money to get this taken care of when Rheem should have taken care of a majority of the expense.
