Smeg Dishwasher Error Codes

If you're looking for help fixing your Smeg Dishwasher, look no further! Our comprehensive Smeg Dishwasher error code guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and show you how to read your model's error codes.

CODE: E1 or E9
PROBLEM: Overfill Issue
FIX: The flood protection system has been activated which means the water level in your dishwasher has reached a higher level than it is supposed to. This could be caused by a faulty valve that lets water into your machine, a blocked filter stopping water from draining or excessive foaming as a result of adding too much detergent.

CODE: E2
PROBLEM: Overfill Issue
FIX: As above this fault occurs when the water level in your dishwasher is too high. E2 errors are likely to be caused by the pressure switch, the part which monitors the water level in your dishwasher. Check the switch itself and the wiring and connections between the switch and the control board.

CODE: E3
PROBLEM: Dishwasher Not Heating
FIX: If the water in your dishwasher is not heating as expected the most likely cause is a faulty heating element which you’ll need to replace. This error code can also be caused by faulty wiring or connections between the heating element and control board.

CODE: E4
PROBLEM: Faulty Temperature Sensor
FIX: The temperature sensor monitors the temperature of the water in your dishwasher. Check the sensor itself and the wiring and connections to it and repair or replace as necessary.

CODE: E5
PROBLEM: Dishwasher Not Filling
FIX: If your dishwasher has not been able to fill with water the inlet valve that lets water into your machine could be faulty. It’s also worth checking that the tap that connects your water supply to your dishwasher is on completely and that the inlet hose is not kinked or squashed.

CODE: E6
PROBLEM: Dishwasher Not Draining
FIX: A dishwasher that has been unsuccessful in draining water could have a blocked filter or pump. These will need cleaning out to allow water to leave your appliance. The pump could also be faulty, in which case it will need replacing.

CODE: E7
PROBLEM: Flow Meter Detected
FIX: This error code indicates that a flow meter (the part in a dishwasher that monitors the amount of water coming into the machine) has been detected when there is not one fitted in your dishwasher. This fault could indicate an issue with your control board and your machine may need to be reset according to your user manual.

After our old dishwasher an Asko died we looked for a replacement. Two dishwashers would fit into the space provided an Asko and a SMEG , Decided on the SMEG and I am super pleased we did. It washes dishes superbly clean (much better than the ASKO ) while being quiet in use. The controls are easy to use and in ECO mode uses very little water. Strongly recommend this product to you Fred T

It’s a good dishwasher with useful settings. The size allows a lot to fit in quite easily, the cutlery holder sits in the dishwasher well. The dishwasher does a really good job of cleaning and drying the dishes. It’s pretty quiet while washing. I always use the “eco” wash option for dishes and it does a really good job.

I purchased the Smeg after my 3 year old Bosch died. Overall, I am much happier with the Smeg dishwasher as it does a much better wash than my Bosch ever did. Dishes with baked on food are left clean without the need for pre rinsing or soaking. The dishwasher is quiet, has a simple push button interface with plenty of wash cycles and extra features such as half load, delay start and time remaining display. I use the condenser drying feature when I run the dishwasher at night, which opens the door at the end of the cycle which saves on energy.. By morning most dishes are dry, if I need dry dishes in a hurry, I turn the feature off and everything is dry. The dishwasher has a cutlery drawer, and cutlery basket. The drawer can be removed, however I like it and if the cutlery is placed correctly, it stays in place. My only complaint is that cutting boards and baking trays cannot be placed upright and they have no be laid flat which isn't that big of a deal. I especially like the fact that the dishwasher only uses 9 litres of water. Overall I think that this is far superior to the Bosch that I had, and to anyone who may be considering a Bosch, do some research, specifically about the E15 error that is extremely common.

THE SMEG is beautiful and a great machine. Very quiet and dishes are always very clean. No problems. Adjustable racks and we always use it on auto.seems to be the best setting. The shorter setting does leave some things wet, like Tupperware plastic etc. But this is normal. Happy i paid more for the italian job

3 months and everything is very good. A quiet, efficient machine. Nice looking washer, easy to clean with no sticking out bits. Buttons require firmer pressure for a little longer than I have encountered before. I actually like that. Decided to go Smeg as all appliances in a rental we owned (14) years were totally trouble free.
