We purchased a 5000.00 dollar fridge from Kitchenaid 3 door french and 3 weeks have gone by and the ice maker quits working! Call customer service. What a joke. No help there! Do not buy anything from this company ever! This fridge is a piece of junk. Model number is KRFC704FPS. This company needs to be sued for the garbage they are unloading on people!

I purchased counter depth refrigerator in 2017. My daughter and were getting sick. Months later I noticed the fridge was not cold. The evaporator was not cooling. The repairman put another one in and that one broke as well. They sent me a new fridge. It was dented but I took it. AGAIN...noise coming from evaporator area in the back panel. It was repaired and the ice cube maker stopped working well. A couple of months later it completely stopped. When fields appliance repair came out the older man leaned on the drawer I am guessing. The ice cube maker is finally working but the drawer is bent out on the upper right hand corner. There is warm air and air leakage on the upper right corner. Icicles and frost on the top inside seal with frost on the tray. I can easily put my fingers under the seal. My freezer is not cooling properly with air leakage. I wont mention the dent that they put in the frame of the door either. I want someone to fix my freezer door.

Ive had this dishwasher model KUDS30iXSS4 with stainless steel tub for 5 years and the only way to get dishes clean is to set it for pot scrubber and on the longer cycle. The top rack has plastic wheels to roll it in and out that completely broke off so it cant be used. Replacement parts are over $135 and I dont know if I can fix it myself. Ive had dishwashers last 15+ years with 0 problems so I think this one isnt living up to expectations. I bought the stainless tub because I thought it would last. I can see from these reviews the top shelf wheels are a major design fault. Many complaints about the plastic wheels breaking off as well as other plastic pieces failing. When I replace this and Im sure I will have to, I wont replace it with another KitchenAid.

KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDS02FRSS2 - We bought this dishwasher from a local distributor to the trade for more than $1100 in September 2006 and now, in less than 6.5 years, the control panel has stopped working. I tried all the suggestions in the manual and that customer service recommended without results. We set up a service appointment with a KitchenAid certified repair firm with a ridiculous $150 appointment charge. The tech tried to run diagnostics on it with no apparent success and just came back with a, It looks like you need a new control panel! Of course, he tried to sell me a $300+ extended warranty, in case anything else goes wrong. For just $430, I could have my gently used (run less than once a week in its life) $1200 dishwasher back in use. This unit was installed with our kitchen remodel when we also bought KitchenAid cabinet-depth refrigerator, dual fuel range, microwave and dishwasher, $7500 in what we thought were premium appliances. Im pissed at the lack of customer service support and, based on what I read here, are significant quality issues with KitchenAid dishwashers and a company focused more on selling extended warranties. Im a very dissatisfied customer.

After purchasing and installing a new Kitchenaid Architect Series II convection wall oven (KEBS109SS), the noise from the convection fan was overwhelming. I removed the oven from the wall and opened the rear panel when I noticed that the fan motor was loose. Further investigation helped me determine that the mounting screws were accessible from the inside of the oven by removing the panel covering the fan. Once I tightened the mounting screws, the sound from the convection fan is almost unnoticeable. I can understand the complaints made from other Kitchenaid owners concerning the irritating fan noise. Hopefully, this simple repair will eliminate their problem so they too can enjoy their ovens too.

KBLS19Ktms1 - My wife and I purchase the above refrigerator and from day one we had a noise issue, clogged drain tube which causes leaky water situation every day. I did some research and apparently Im not the only one having a problem. The internet is loaded with complaints for these product. Ive had two repair call - both cost $125.00-150.00. Ive complain to KitchenAid, however they just pass me off as a non-valued consumer. Ive reported them the BB and will no longer purchase their product and I would strongly recommend not to purchase any of their products because of inferior design workmanship and customer support.

Dishwasher Model KUD535FXBL9. If I could give this dishwasher a zero I would. I have had this dishwasher about 2 years and 7 months. The motor and pump assembly are shot. Seriously. I live alone and do about 2 loads of dishes a week. Also mailed in the registration but never received notice about the top shelf recall. Between my KitchenAid gas range and the dishwasher I am absolutely disgusted.

I have owned my KSF26CXYY04 side by side for about a year. It does keep food correctly cooled and there have not been problems with leaks or other mechanical issues. However, the drawers (bins) are designed so that all the tension is on tiny triangles. We have had two drawers crack at this stress point and consequently they are unusable. Replacement drawers were ordered $90 a piece plus $20 min. fee for delivery ($200 and counting). It wouldnt be bad if that solved the problem, but it is a matter of time before these also break. I have never had this issue with any other refrigerator.

Model # KUDS03STSS3 - stainless inside and out is a piece of **! I purchased it on March 2009, as of this weekend (when it went down again), I have had six service calls! So many that they extended the warranty (or so they said) - voila - no extended warranty and the pos is down again! I now need to pay to service this lemon because Whirlpool (parent co) would not classify as a lemon and replace. This is the very last time I purchase this brand. The customer service people had done nothing but apologized for the inconvenience. They could care less that you are taking multiple days of off to wait for service that should never be in the first place. I have filed a complaint with the NJ Consumer Protection and have asked for compensation for the cost of the dishwasher, and time taken off from work. I will post consequences when finished - but I am finished!

Our 8-year-old refrigerator, KSSC36QMS01, stopped working just before the holidays. After struggling to identify the source of the problem, we found the comments and instructions from Chris of Vancouver to be exactly what we needed. The symptoms for the refrigerators were identical and the instructions he posted were easy to follow. We were able to fix the refrigerator the day I found his instructions here and was saved having to purchase a new refrigerator when this one was only 8 years old.

I guess we wont be doing Christmas party or Christmas dinner for family unless we use the stove and outdoor grill.

We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher model # KUDS301XSS in February 2012. We previously owned a KitchenAid for 18 years and NEVER ever had a service call on it! Now this new one is less than 2 years old and the rollers on the top rack have broken (they are plastic). Then when I set the buttons to run the washer, it would act like it was going to start, then cancel and drain! Found out today from the repairman that this is a common problem. The pump is out! Says this happens frequently usually within the first 5 years! Thankfully I did purchase the extended warranty but on a dishwasher that cost nearly $1,000 one should not have to! I will NEVER purchase a KitchenAid again! Also, bought KitchenAid Refrigerator a year ago. And have already had to replace the ice maker and had a service call about a leak in one of the hoses! So disappointing!

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (KUDP02FSPA3) for my new home. We moved in December of 2007 and by December of 2011 the door to the dishwasher broke. It would no longer spring close. Because this model has the customizable front door to match the cabinets, the door is extremely heavy - heavy enough to kill a small child when the door broke. We immediately removed the cabinet part so that my 12-month-old baby girl would not be harmed or killed by this defect. I called last week to have someone come out and fix my dishwasher door and the cost was $164. Now that I am doing the research online, I see this is a common problem with this dishwasher model. Why does KitchenAid continue to sell a product that has a defect which could kill a small child? Why did we have to pay $164 to fix this common problem? Is KitchenAid waiting for the defect to actually kill a small child before coming up with a permanent solution to the problem?

In December, 2013, I purchased a replacement dishwasher for my then 20 year
In December, 2013, I purchased a replacement dishwasher for my then 20 year old KitchenAid. Shortly after it was installed, we discovered that the handle was improperly attached and one end stuck out, catching on clothes and tearing them. KitchenAid informed me, That was just the way it was on some units. I found that unsatisfactory, so they sent a technician out who basically did nothing. I called the retailer, who replaced the unit completely with a new dishwasher within a couple of weeks. The new unit was installed in January, 2014. It came with a one year manufacturers warranty, and I purchased an extended warranty good through 2019. Since we are at our second home much of the time, and use this dishwasher twice weekly on average, we thought we would be safe with the new unit, which had a properly installed handle, by the way. No such luck. Shortly before Thanksgiving, 2015, while the unit was less than two years old, the top pull-out drawer fell down, landing on the dishes below. We removed the top drawer/pull out unit, and tried running it without the top drawer, but no luck. The unit would not operate without the top drawer. I called the warranty company, Bankers Insurance. They dont cover mechanical parts, I was told. So I called KitchenAid, and the wait was so long I was directed to their website, where I was instructed to enter my zip code to find a service technician. So I did, and the results? NO SERVICE in my area... impossible to believe, with over a million people in my greater metro area! Nonetheless, I contacted the retailer, who gave me the name of a service company. Their technician came out today, took one look, and said that the problem was a repetitive one, a defective part that KitchenAid was replacing with metal parts. No more plastic -- they had so many issues with this part that they were in most cases repairing the defective parts at no charge. That of course, was not my luck when I called KitchenAid. Nope, no replacement. We are not showing any problems with that model! Exact words. Not their problem! But they would be happy to direct my call to the parts department where I could order the parts, and pay for them, of course. I spent over a thousand dollars on this dishwasher, it gets light use, is less than two years old, and it wont run without a cheap plastic pull out part that will cost me well in excess of $200 to replace, because they only sell the entire mechanism. My biggest regret? I specified KitchenAid for my dishwasher in my second home. Trust me, they are not what they used to be, nor is their customer service department.

Purchased range KSEG950E in January 2016. The oven never has worked properly. I have had service out at least a dozen times. Purchased the extended warranty out of necessity and have regularly had technicians out for service. I’m told each time that there is nothing wrong. My oven does not hold temperature. I set it and it will vary up or down 50-75 degrees during baking time. This is totally unacceptable to me as a baker. I am very disappointed in KitchenAid, I usually love their products. We are about to trash this very expensive range and buy another brand!

I purchased two of the same KitchenAid Dishwashers (KDTE204) in September of 2015. The first one began leaking in March 2019 and was repaired by the repair company that KitchenAid referred me to. This $405 repair bill. In November 2019, the second dishwasher began leaking. In between the time I placed the service call for the second dishwasher and the repair man coming, the first dishwasher began leaking again. When the repair man came out, he indicated that the repair would be $435 for each dishwasher. The price of repairing the first dishwasher twice would be $840 and the price of repairing the second is $405.When I called customer service at KitchenAid they said we cannot control when a product fails and offered me $185 toward parts for repairing the first dishwasher again. I spent an hour on the phone and spoke with three different customer service people. None of whom seemed to think a dishwasher should last longer than a year. So if you plan to throw out your dishwasher every few years, then by all means get a KitchenAid but if you want one that will last, you should definitely look elsewhere.

Im on a mission to let everyone know how much KitchenAid sucks. They obviously have no quality control on their production. They have no ethics about making a quality product. About 8 years ago, we upgraded our kitchen and bought all new KitchenAid appliances. Since then, every appliance has had issues. Microwave (KHMS155LSS), weve had to replace the face plates (all of them) at least once because the cheap plastic latches broke. Dishwasher (KUDS01FLSS), the spring holding the door has broken twice so that the door flies open and bruises any body parts in the way. Hand mixer (Classic Plus 5), less than 1 year after purchasing, one of the beaters separated (has been fine since we replaced it though). Stand mixer (KSM9O), the cover over the motor doesnt stay close and easily pulls open if you touch it. Oven/Stove (Superba Range), the final straw, I was baking potatoes tonight and the oven shut off and locked shut with my potatoes inside. I cannot open the door. I tried all the things I saw on the internet and its still locked with my potatoes inside. Im going to replace it with a non-KitchenAid appliance ASAP!

We purchased a KitchenAid slide in gas range, over range microwave and dishwasher in 2007 when we renovated our kitchen. We have had to replace the control panel twice because when we attempted to self clean, it overheated and locked up. After reading other reviews, I am grateful the glass didnt break as well. The off button for the oven no longer works. Our work around is using the cook duration feature and setting it for 1 minute when we are finished using it. I couldnt tell you the model since everything has melted off the inside of the oven. The top grates broke almost immediately, the knobs are hot and the color has worn off. What I find most upsetting is the over range microwave starts by itself and beeps randomly and then shuts off with an F2 error. We have kept it unplugged when not in use. Out of principle, we have not wanted to replace these as we paid a considerable amount thinking we were buying quality. While apparently the microwave is known to start fires and Kitchenaid never sent us notification. Now our front burner on the stove is having excess gas and conducting mini explosions. We have had to repair the dishwasher multiple times as well. What garbage! I cant believe all of the reviewers who have the same problems and the KitchenAid does nothing to correct the flaws in their appliances. Never, NEVER AGAIN!

Then after cleaning the oven, the glass shattered in the microwave. Heat must have risen and too hot. The oven still works, but the glass is still getting into the oven and on the floor. We have owned a KitchenAid self-cleaning oven which recently caught on fire while in the self-cleaning mode. The door locked and could not be opened and the fire department had to remove the stove in an emergency call. We have had lesser problems with the electronic system malfunctioning in the past but this episode nearly cost us our home. There have been many reports of this malfunction but KitchenAid has not put out a warning to consumers, much less tried to correct it. We did a lot of research and talked to appliance salesmen before we purchased our Kitchenaid dishwasher two years ago. Everyone gave this make and model great reviews. When it worked, it was great. It had the extra arm in the bottom. 3rd rack. Then about three months ago it would not drain a lot of the time. We would find soapy water after the cycle. We called kitchen aid, looked on Youtube and tried to correct the problem. Had to press drain cycle to get rid of water and then we did rinse. Sometimes still water in bottom. We called our local repair man and he diagnosed it as being a defective drain pump. Called Kitchen aid. They will cover the part only if we use their repair service. So now I will have to pay them after paying my guy a diagnostic fee! THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN IN A TWO YEAR OLD Dishwasher. !! Repair guy said all new appliance are not built to last. Next time I will get a minimum feature model. I noticed others have had similar problems. Wish I had seen these reviews before buying.

I purchased a second Kitchenaid microwave KMCS1016GSSo after my first one lasted about 11 years. My custom cabinets were built to fit this microwave and trim kit. I purchased the extended warranty coverage although this model received poor ratings. But it fit perfectly into my cabinets. I specifically asked 2 years ago when purchasing the second unit if anything goes out on microwave would I receive a replacement. I was told “yes, we’ll replace the microwave since we don’t repair countertop models.”About 2 weeks ago the lcd display digits started to burn out. I checked online and found this same model is still being produced. I called Whirlpool who’s the parent company to discuss my options since I had 2 more years on extended warranty. After escalation to 3 levels of supervisors I was told they would only send me the depreciated amount of the microwave. The terms state replace or give cash settlement. But I was told at this time they are not replacing the microwaves. This is very upsetting and breach of what I was told when I purchased the extended warranty because this model fits my cabinet and trim kit.

Well for the send time our expensive KitchenAid Built-in Side by Side Refrigerator Freezer Failed. It is almost 10 years old. The refrigerator repairmen from Judd and Black Electric arrived about 12:00 and fussed around with our fridge for an hour. In my opinion they didnt have a clue really and ** thought they were rude. At the end of the process they said the main control module was out, KitchenAid didnt make the part, it wasnt available anymore and they couldnt fix the KitchenAid KSSC48QMS01 side by side built in refrigerator. Period. They said that Core Centric could rebuild the control board but they didnt offer to take it out or send it in to Core Centric. The entire afternoon I researched the issue and learned that there are several companies that will rebuild the control board for about $100, found a YouTube Video on how to remove it and learned the serial number (W10219463-119) of the offending part. I will NEVER buy a KichenAid product again.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in March 2011 from Lowes. I chose the KitchenAid brand and paid a slightly higher amount as I was told they are well built and work better than any other brand on the market, and because I thought they would stand by their product. In December 2012, the upper rack adjuster broke because it is made of plastic and the dishwasher has the lift higher feature, that is used quite a bit. I contacted customer service and they said the part was out of stock and finally in late January I received the replacement part. Last week it broke again, same place, so I contacted customer service again and I asked them if anyone else has this issue and I was told they could not discuss this with me but there is no recall. Was told I am sorry but the part is in stock, call Marcone to order the part. The cost is $40.00 plus shipping. I am so angry right now. I have a dishwasher that is useless. We purchased the KA model KFIS29BBMS02 in December 2013. We noticed it was rather noisy but we were told that refrigerators make some noise. We have already had technicians out 4 times. They have replaced the evaporator fan motor on July 25 for a flapping noise. That noise is still present. We have a high pitched whirring noise that happens a few times each day. We have found out the mostly constant humming noise is the compressor, as it is always running. We have been told at todays appointment that the compressor needs to be replaced since it is apparently leaking Freon and will hopefully keep working until the repairman can get the part - which is on back order because so many have needed to be replaced!!!! We have also had to replace the touch pad control panel as it popped out of the front of the fridge! After 9 months, we are still unsatisfied with the refrigerator and the KitchenAid brand. Last year the whole touch pad freaked out when trying to use the self cleaning mode which we had used on several occasions before. The last two years before the oven stopped working all together the convection oven didnt cook evenly. This is the absolutely biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased! About the only thing I think this range is good for is to use it as a boat anchor! KitchenAide/Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to produce such a faulty product. My KitchenAid dishwasher has been a problem for some time, it was making the dishes dirtier than when they went in from the beginning. KitchenAid refused to fix it, then after the warranty, it started to melt items that were extremely heat resistant and would not move through the cycles. We called a repairman and paid him to have the board replaced. It didnt make a difference. Upon further investigation, we realized that the fire in the dishwasher had damaged the heat element and the plastics around it. We thought that the circuit board might have been the cause so we moved on replacing the element and associated parts around it.It worked better for a little time, now its looking like its back to trouble again. Its not moving through cycles, dishes are filthy and I smell that burn again. I am afraid that its dangerous. We dont run it while we are asleep or away from home for fear of fire.

I have had this Electric range KSEG950E for about 2 years and have had major problems with its self-cleaning technology. For starters, it simply doesnt work, even after repeated cycles. Cleaning out the water after the cycle is finished is tiresome. And the side and back panels never come clean. Its nearly impossible to scrub out these areas, as you can only use nonabrasive pads, and the oven is so deep, you cant reach in far enough to clean effectively. Even soil on the reachable areas is a challenge to clean, using only the recommended non-scratch scrubbing sponges and fresh kitchen appliance cleaner (the addition of which is recommended for hard to remove soil).Im not a heavy oven user and have tried to clean oven at the slightest sign of soil build-up. Once more, being 5 7, Id think that reaching around inside the oven to scrub should be easy. But after the lengthy clean-up sessions, I hardly need to go to the gym for exercise! Surfing the net, I see that Im not the only very dissatisfied customer! It may be good publicity to have low-energy cleaning technology. But if it doesnt work well, it cant earn high marks for the company.

KSC23C8EYY02 - Bought new with all other KitchenAid appliances. Thus far the dishwasher is the only appliance that has not given us problems. The refrigerator/freezer (less than 36mos. old) has stopped cooling for the second time. Their customer service folks are well trained and nice, but the product is terrible. And, if you have service done under warranty by their contracted service folks (in our case Alabama Power) dont take Freon leak as a problem answer and solution of replacing Freon. I am now on my second go round of throwing out a fridge of wasted food in the last 6 weeks. Only to be told it will be 6 days before they can come out.

My four year old Kitchen Aid dishwasher (model kudko31twh2) has been a headache. Numerous calls for leaks has not fixed the problem through Bestbuy extended warranty companies. Now, my new kitchen floor is damaged, and this past Saturday, Feb 18, the machine gave off a burning smell. I had to remove the machine from the premises, due to the smell, and felt compelled to purchase a new dishwasher, even though there is still time left on my extended warranty. I am very angry and frustrated that Kitchen Aid said it is Best Buys problem, and not theirs. They might be right, but they should stand behind their products better.

KitchenAid makes a beautiful refrigerator - and that’s it. It is dysfunctional. The water dispenser is not user friendly & EVERY time a guest uses it, ice and water spill everywhere. The â€water’ sign on the dispenser is wearing off after 4 months of use (2 adults in house only). The adjustable shelves are not. I’ve tried moving the shelves only to gouge the sides of the fridge - so they stay at unusable height. Plastic - so much plastic! I wish I had bought something else...

I spent $2000.00 on a fancy KitchenAid range with the touchpad and had it fail on me! When I called KitchenAid, they wanted $150.00 to check it out and I was told that the life of appliances is only about 8 yrs! Wow! KitchenAid is now crossed off my list of worthy appliance makers along with GE! This is my third appliance to break down within three yrs. The other two were GE products, a monogram dishwasher and refrigerator! I cannot believe how, we as consumers, are being scammed by these big companies who offer no help!

We purchased this new model stainless dishwasher on 11/27/2010. Our 1990 Maytag had served us well, but didnt hold enough dishes, I thought. Everyone said the new dishwashers hold more dishes, but not KitchenAid KUDE60HXSSO! First, this holds less dishes and glasses than my old Maytag. Second, whoever designed the KitchenAid racks should be fired. Its like doing a puzzle to get your dishes to fit. Many dishes and glasses just dont fit - same for pots and pans. And third, silverware holders fall into silverware rack. Very cheaply designed!Dont ever buy a dishwasher with the extra rack for silverware. All dishwasher holes are the same size. Because we have this top (3rd) rack, nothing fits into our dishwasher. Its supposed to be removable, but its difficult to get in and out. Anyhow, its too big to store anywhere in our small kitchen. We have an adjustable top rack which we keep in the upper position. As a result, only saucers fit into the top rack. High glasses must be in the front or they hit the extra shelf. If we lower the top rack, our dinner plates are too tall to fit in the bottom rack. The KitchenAid racks are ridiculous. Many glasses dont fit at all, some just in the far right and far left. There is nowhere to put cocktail glasses with rims. They are too tall. We had a place for them in our old Maytag. The silverware holders fall inside the silverware holder, so that it is time-consuming to put silverware in or take it out. We wanted a replacement.Immediately, our door didnt open all the way, so that the bottom rack was tilted when opened. We complained right away to customer service and they werent interested in listening to any complaint or reporting it. They sent a serviceman who wasnt interested either. We persisted and he finally made the door open more, still not completely, but he says that is normal. The 2nd serviceman was nice, so we got him to call technical service (a customer is not allowed to speak to technical customer service!). Anyhow, they sent a new silverware rack; and of course, its just as bad a design as the first. Right away, the dishes and glasses did not get clean on pro-wash and pro-dry. I had film and lipstick on all my glasses and dirt remaining on my dishes. Immediately, I complained to customer service who were unfriendly, rude, sarcastic and insulting. They sent service who ran some stupid diagnostic that told them that the dishes were cleaning as they were supposed to. So no one cares about my dirty dishes and glasses. As long as their test is okay - customer be damned. We complained to customer service, and they said we needed service again. Our dishes were clean with the old Maytag. But for this dishwasher, we needed to buy Cascade Complete and still the dishes werent clean. I now use the single tablets and only Heavy duty, Proscrub, High Temp Scrub and sani-rinse. My dishes are cleaner. Pro-wash and Pro-dry do not clean them even though I scrape and even rinse most dishes and glasses.I hate this dishwasher because I cant fit my dishes into the racks. Ill never buy another KitchenAid appliance. The KitchenAid customer service is horrible. They could care less about any complaints. Ive complained to KitchenAid supervisors - time-consuming and unsatisfying. Now, I see that many others complain about KitchenAid. Now, we need a new refrigerator and I see all the complaints about KitchenAid. However, Whirlpool and Maytag are the same box and same company. So what do I do? Why cant they make appliances that work? Its disgraceful!

Do not buy KitchenAID refrigerator KFIV29 model. My refrigerator stopped working in less than 2 years. I had an extended warranty and they basically kept on sending a service contractor to address the issue who kept on finding new issues as to why my refrigerator was not working. KitchenAid refused to take any responsibility in regards to the quality of the product or the extended warranty that they sold to me in the first place, and refused to help solve the problem. The extended warranty company refused to stop the payment to the contractor until they had a confirmation from me that the refrigerator was actually working and six weeks in I still do not have a refrigerator.

KitchenAid® 27-Inch Single Wall Oven, Architect® Series II - I purchased this Oven October 5, 2013. It was installed October 24, 2013. On December 31, 2013 it stopped working. I called for service and they could not get to me until January 6, 2014. The serviceman came out that morning and took a look at the oven and found that the fuse had blown in it. Lucky me they did not have one in stock and they had to order one. The fuse came in on January 8, 2014 and they came out and installed it. I did not use the oven again until January 14, 2014 because of some other issues in my kitchen. January 14, 2014 I turned it on and used it to bake something. It worked fine. I walked away from it after I was done baking and came back about 45 minutes later and it had died again. It will not come back on. My guess is that it is the fuse again. I would not recommend this oven to anyone!!!!! At this rate I will have a serviceman at my house every week to repair this oven. I called a supervisor at Kitchen Aid January 16, 2014 and they want me to keep the oven and they want to extend the warranty. This will happen when some place freezes over!!!!

I have never had this problem with any other dishwasher before. Very disappointing.

We have the big side-by-side stainless steel model, purchased in 2005 for our new home. We are in the same situation as the previous reviewer. The circuit board was removed and taken for repair. The problem is that the part is no longer available, so they are refurbishing them and must have weeks of backlogged work to do to fix them. We are also waiting on A&E. Unfortunately, they dont give you this information. They say the part is on backorder. Hello, its not on backorder. There is none.KitchenAid and Whirlpool are big companies and they should order some circuit boards because there seem to be an awful lot of unhappy customers losing food and waiting weeks or months for the repair to be done. If you have one of these big units, you can only leave the door open for a couple of minutes maximum. If you need to clean, remove the shelves or drawers and close the doors. Otherwise, the alarm will begin beeping and within days or weeks, the circuit board will fry. This is a known problem and a recall should be conducted to replace the offending parts on these units!

We recently purchased a Kitchenaid stainless steel dishwasher from Lowes. It is the quietest dishwasher I have ever had but it stinks! I mean it SMELLS terrible a day after it has been run. Smells like stale garbage filled water. When I questioned KitchenAid about this I was told the dishwasher does not entirely drain as not to dry out the gaskets... Well, that is all well and good but the leftover water stinks. I leave the dishwasher open almost all the time, which is very inconvenient in my small kitchen, to try to get it to dry. I would never recommend this dishwasher to anyone because of this. I tried running the cleaning product (Affresh) thru it but that didnt work. After one additional use, it was back to the same smelly condition. VERY disappointed in the expensive dishwasher.

DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID PRODUCTS. They look nice in the store, but are actually poorly built and worse, performance is awful. I have dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator and all 3 have deteriorated in quality after just a year of use. Their customer service is the absolute worst. Ive seen other comments on this site and they are accurate. Customer service will not help in any way. Their only answer is Im sorry. Our refrigerator has a documented design flaw and they refuse to replace it. Their solution is to have someone come to our house and completely strip the inside out so we are left with a metal box. Then, the person is going to build one out of all new parts. I will have a frankenstein that will not be inspected by anyone, no quality control, and no idea if its being done properly. The model is KFIS29BBMS00 -- but dont worry, because of the known design flaw they dont make it anymore. Kitchenaid is horrible and their customer service is worse. Buy ANYTHING else.

KitchenAid keeps saying sorry to hear that but that doesnt get me a working Frig!!! So Im stuck with a $2600 piece of junk. Its a nightmare!! If youre thinking of buying KitchenAid major appliances, read the letter I recently sent to KitchenAid below. I got a legalistic form response offering nothing, not even an apology. They even got my name wrong. Never again.I am writing about a series of problems I have had with several large KitchenAid appliances. I have never written a complaint letter before, but the coincidental problems with your products reminds me of the planned obsolescence complaints from 30 years ago about American made cars. I thought about just posting all of this on the internet, but thought I should give you a chance to respond first. Here is my story. On December 2, 2004, I bought three major KitchenAid appliances as a part of a high-end kitchen renovation. A built in refrigerator was the big ticket item, but I also bought a gas stove/electric range, and a silent dishwasher, all brushed silver. Together, the three items cost me $11,494.35.Everything worked fine until this past spring, but within six months, all three appliances have had major problems. The compressor on the refrigerator failed. You covered the parts, but I paid over $600 in labor. A hinge on the door of the dishwasher rusted out, and I replaced it for over $300. Currently, the washer motor on the dishwasher is screaming every time it runs. Ive been quoted a cost of about $500 to replace it. What about the stove? This past summer the small control board (near the dials) failed, and I had to replace that at a cost of over $400. Last week, the large control board misfired, turning the oven my 16-year old daughter was using to make cupcakes on to clean mode, locking the door, setting the cupcakes on fire, and sending plumes of smoke throughout the house. Luckily, I was home from work with an injury, and thought to flip the circuit breaker. The fire died after about an hour, and the door opened when I put the breaker back on. I just replaced the big control board at a cost of over $500.All told, Ive paid over $2,200 to repair very expensive appliances that are less than 10 years old, and I still have a screaming silent dishwasher. How do you explain this? Planned obsolescence? If so, you certainly have the timing down pat. So why am I writing? I am hoping you will do the right thing by me and in making appliances that last. What is the right thing to do for me? Cut me a check for $2,200? Fix my dishwasher for free? Give me all new appliances and install them? Send me a letter of apology? Im not sure. I will leave that to you. I do hope someone responds. It might be cathartic for me to post a bunch of nasty reviews on the internet, but I hope there is a more constructive alternative.

In April of 2014 we purchased an expensive KitchenAid refrigerator from Best Buy, later delivered & installed by Best Buy. The refrigerator was purchased for the ice machine and water filter. From the time we purchased the frig, the ice maker made very small ice cubes and then stopped making them all together. The frig began leaving a puddle of water on the floor, so we turned off the ice maker and I asked my husband to call KitchenAid, while the product was under warranty. He finally did and in September the first repairman came out from Quaker Appliance who said the product was installed improperly, then Best Buy, who came out and showed us the product was installed properly. We went back to KitchenAid and they sent out Ace Appliance. The Ace Appliance repairman has been out here 6 - 7 times, replacing tubes that are broken, electric boards, the actual ice maker itself and still it does not work. We contacted KitchenAid today, after Ace Appliance did not show up for an appointment, and begged them to please end this and stand behind their product. I have had to take numerous half and whole days of vacation, resulting in greater cost to our family than we ought to bear. When I pointed it out to the Supervisor after speaking with 2 customer service reps, she said that they will do nothing to replace the item until both a technician and the KitchenAid technician deem it unfixable. I asked how many times would that mean someone should have to schedule an appointment, take time off work and she said it could be once or 20 times. Her name was Shannon. We told her we were going to submit a complaint to BBB and she didnt seem to care. All the repairmen who have been out here have told us that KitchenAid will just wait for you to give up, toss a few dollars at you or keep wasting your time. They do not return their faulty products. This is what we were told from experienced technicians...

We have a KitchenAid refrigerator. This refrigerator is less than 5 years old. It started having problems keeping the correct temperature. Called my service guy, he comes out, checks it out and states it has a freon leak. This involves the sealed system, a repair he does not do. Whirlpool was called and this issue was discussed. An authorized service provider from Whirlpool was sent out and yes it is a sealed system leak but he does not do sealed system repairs. I pay him his diagnostic fee. Called Whirlpool again and another provider is sent out to ascertain that yes it is a sealed system problem and guess what I get to pay another diagnostic fee. Whirlpool stated they sent out the first provider because they are on the List. Somehow this appears to be my problem that they sent out a company that doesnt do the repair that was clearly the issue per my appliance guy. I called to see if Whirlpool would cover one of these fees but nope. I wasted one hour and five minutes on the phone and got zero satisfaction. I also want to add that this repair parts and labor are covered under warranty so it seems doubly ridiculous that I have to pay two service fees. There will never be another Whirlpool, KitchenAid appliance in this house again.

Our $600 KitchenAid microwave failed after less than 2 years. I spoke with customer service about repair, and was told that replacement parts are not made for this item as its a countertop appliance. Was not marketed as such - was sold to me as an installed piece with a matching trim kit. I was told that I would just need to purchase another microwave given that Im out of warranty. Very disappointing to discover that a seldom-used microwave that retails for that much money cannot be counted upon to last for 2 years. Sadder still that KitchenAid is not willing to stand behind their product by at least offering a discount toward the purchase of a replacement product. Based upon this experience, I will not purchase another KitchenAid appliance.

We purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator, bottom freezer, Model No D-KBFS20EVMS approximately nine months ago. The compressor failed over a week ago and we are still waiting to have it repaired. Unfortunately, neither the retailer nor the KitchenAid Customer Service can find a replacement part and we have been unable to pin down when we will be able to have the appliance fixed. We have been told it may be another week but at this point we have no confidence in the company or the retailer. We have had to purchase a dorm refrigerator in order to keep several medications cold. KitchenAid refuses to replace the refrigerator but they did offer us a $100 gift card, good for another KitchenAid purchase. We understand that any appliance can fail, even those that are rated as very reliable, but we do believe a company should back up their products. This was our first, and now last, KitchenAid purchase.

We bought the Kitchenaid Architect Series model # KDTE104DSS0 after much research for $800. 2 years later the motor is dead (typically lasting 10+ years) and KitchenAid will do nothing. The customer service rep got a supervisor but they refused to even help on the part cost. So now after spending $800 we must pay another $400 to fix. I could have bought another Bosch to last another 11 years (the last dishwasher in this house) but went with a domestic piece of garbage instead. Im appalled that they wouldnt even give a discount on the part - instead tried to sell me a NEW dishwasher at a discount! I will never ever ever buy KitchenAid again. So disappointed in their customer service. I understand, things break - but own up to it instead of relying solely on us coughing up another $200+ at the time of purchase. We could barely afford the dishwasher and trusted that the brand would hold up. Obviously a mistake.

Had purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator new in September 2013. On January 3 the refrigerator broke AND WAS LEFT WITH NO REFRIGERATION. Being under warranty KitchenAid sent out their service repair service. On January 8, the service repair came and said they had to order a part. On January 14, service came back, installed part and that was not problem, had to order another another part. January 22 came, installed part, didnt work, said had to order another part. January 29 returned installed another part, still didnt work, said that new part installed was defective, had to order another part. On January 30, I called KitchenAid and stated that I wanted a different repair person and they would not do so because their repair service are qualified technicians. January 31, installed yet another part, didnt work and said it was unserviceable and wouldnt come back and refrigerator had to be replaced. KitchenAid said they would not replace but wanted to get another opinion. February 6, 2nd company came out and wanted to order more parts. In the meantime, we have Four children and have been LEFT WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR for excessive amount of time. Never seen service like this before. Please help because in the middle of all this more than several phone calls transpired and its obvious that no one at KitchenAid could care less that a family is left without a refrigerator.

I was a builder in Atlanta for 30 years and used KitchenAid in my homes many times. I installed a high-end side by side just under 2 years ago in my personal home and it suddenly started forming ice. When the technician came he took apart the panel with the cooling element and found the sealer wire which was installed crimped had destroyed the thermistor which regulates the fridge. When I called KitchenAid their answer was over time, which could be anywhere from a week to years the parts or the way it was put together could break down. Really? I never would have used KitchenAid if I knew they weren’t responsible for the correct installation of original parts. It cost $325 to fix.

My $8,000 refrigerator just became scrap metal. It is less than 6 yrs. old. If there is a U.S. regulation that parts be maintained for 10 years, why are these not available from another sub-contractor? I am assuming they were defective to begin with or the computer assembly sub-contractor was so shortsighted they neglected to back up the specs. New house, new appliances - the repairman was here three times because our $7,000 SXS KitchenAid fridge/freezer (Model: Kss048FTX03) was not cooling. The repairman said the first time he was here that he installed the part that would solve the problem. Well, he will be back in 4-5 days with another part. It seems that the wall between the fridge and the freezer builds up ice that prevents cooling in the refrigerator. At least, that is what I am told. I was also told that he is very frequently called out to repair this issue.I mainly bought this product because we wanted to install custom door overlays to match our cabinets and a large unit. Not a lot is available in Hawaii and we were able to order this from Lowes. We are so sorry we did. Im glad that I purchased extended warranties on all appliances and am real glad that only two of them are KitchenAid! We, too, have lost all our food twice, not to mention the hassle of removing everything together with the thaw out and order process for parts. Should we have a class action here? We shall see. Im glad I found this site. My husband is a litigation lawyer with just such experience, so I may be back in touch with everyone when the next repair fails!

It is amazing to me that KitchenAid is continuing to stick their head in the sand when it is obvious that a problem exists with the oven shutting off. I preheated the oven to 375 and put the food in the oven for no more than 15 minutes and the oven shut off. I have tried shutting off the breakers, pressing 3, which I read on a blog resets the lock-out, and nothing worked. So, I googled KitchenAid Superba wall oven and sure enough found the same complaint on multiple sites. This does qualify for a class action lawsuit. I am not one for suing as the lawyers make out the best in the long run. But it is ridiculous that the company has not stepped up and helped out their customers. Shame on you, KitchenAid!

It looks great in the wall, but I HATE this oven & wish I could replace!! It blows a very loud fan any time it is on - and it takes FOREVER to preheat! I mean 30-45 minutes to reach 350. And then blows an hour after you turn it off. No way to shut it off. After reading reviews of shattering glass, I am scared to death to try the self-clean feature! How do they get away with selling us these problem appliances?!

Kitchenaid Model KDFE104DSS0 - I have before me FOUR repair records on a machine less than one year old. I bought it in January, and by June, the motor had burnt out. In October, yet again, another new motor needed. It still didnt work, did not even get the dishes wet. The company repairman from Platinum Factory Service came back again, ten days later, and replaced a board and wire assembly. Still didnt work; same problem as the one he came over twice now to fix, and both times left me with a machine that didnt work. Lowes, where I bought it, sent over their own repairman. It needed a new motor! After six weeks with a machine I couldnt use, it was finally fixed. Its been working okay now for almost two months.

Purchased this model in 2016 and found that both upper and lower ovens are very poor at accurate temperature readings. Set for 400 but often register at 350. Lower oven very slow to come to temperature and inaccurate at sustaining set temperature. Despite using recommended cleaning products stovetop has stained noticeably. We are plant-based eaters thus stress on stovetop is minimal yet discolouration around elements is greater than expected.

We purchased our Kitchenaid Refrigerator, model # KFIS29BB with great excitement in January 2014. We had done our homework, looked at many fridges and were confident in our choice, having owned wonderful Kitchenaid appliances before. Right away I noticed that it seemed to run a lot, and seemed louder than would be right. Ironically we had also purchased a Kitchenaid Dishwasher which is among the quietest in the industry. By August, the icemaker stopped working. It was under warranty, so the repair team came out. This required two visits, one to diagnose and one to actually repair. On repair day, it took two men four hours. They removed every shelf and bin and replaced the compressor and the evaporator. The repairman confided that he had fixed quite a lot of this particular model. Within two weeks, the ice maker quit again. And this time a loud annoying buzz from the motor began. Another two call repair. The second repair did not require as much time and effort as the first. But within 2 weeks the second repair failed, and the loud buzz was back. The fridge seemed to run constantly, but the temp in the freezer was about 18 degrees, and the fridge, 45. And the buzzing was crazy making incessant. At this point the store agreed to exchange it and we did not purchase another kitchenaid. Im hoping to save someone else the level of aggravation this purchase caused. On a brighter note, the kitchenaid architect series dishwasher rocks!

This refrigerator is just over 1 year old and it has stopped cooling 5 times. It is a defect that KitchenAid is aware of and they arent doing anything to fix it. They have an internal service bulletin on this issue. They send a repairman out and he replaces a part and 2 months later it stops cooling due to ice build up behind cold cut/vegetable drawer. They continue to make different repairs until your warranty is expired, then you are out of luck. KitchenAid knows they have a bad product. They dont have a permanent solution, yet they continue to sell this model. What kind of company does this? How do they get away with it? AN ATTORNEY NEEDS TO FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! Maybe that will get KitchenAids attention.

2 months ago, purchased new counter-depth KitchenAid from Sears. It never reached safe temp, and was 68 degrees after first week. Woke to spoiled food, and alarm beeping. Fast forward two months, and this refrigerator has turned our summer into numerous calls to Whirlpool (where you wait 45 min on hold before reaching anyone), 4 service appointments, (where you must be present at home waiting, for a 5 hour window), parts replacement, (must wait at least a week for parts), followed by still nonfunctioning refrigerator, then, start process over, again!!! We have had 3 service calls in the 2 month, now waiting for a fourth, each with major parts repair, only to still have 68 degrees, NON-FUNCTIONING, $3,000 refrigerator!!! Spare yourselves, if you can by staying clear of KitchenAid/Whirlpool. Tell your friends and family!!! I wouldnt wish this experience on ANYONE!!! They refuse to exchange or refund. Only continue to attempt to repair... UGH!!!

I made a choice to buy all KitchenAid appliances when I built my home. I have had problems with all of them. Mostly the refrigerator. The first one only lasted 9 years. (From what I read I did good.) They did give me a good discount on a new built in refrigerator (2001). Now this one lost all the refrigerant from a copper line that corroded through. Called to get it repaired and found that no-one is willing to come out to repair it. I did find a place that said $1900.00. Looks like its time to buy a different brand this time!!

Like many other reviewers, we purchased high end KitchenAid appliances base on reputation. The steaming sensor was the only thing that ever impressed me. The fan never did much except make a lot of noise and the unit seemed underpowered compared to every other 1200 watt unit Ive owned. At just over 2 years old (and just after the warranty expired) we started getting error messages directing us to open/close the door. That resolved nothing. I unplugged it and fiddled with different buttons and controls, got it to limp along for a few months. Then the appliance went black. The local appliance technician says its a design flaw. The heat from the cooktop overheats the electronics that are in the door directly above burners. Most microwaves have controls in a side panel. $900 wasted.

We have been dedicated KitchenAid fans for two decades. Two years ago, we renovated our kitchen and purchased brand new KitchenAid Stainless Steel Appliances. Within ONE year, the side-by-side refrigerators ice maker motor died. Through the warranty, a new motor was installed. Recently, the Freezer component that generates Freon died. KitchenAid Extended warranty was incompetent and arguable. Finally, after THREE weeks, our freezer was repaired. However, our refrigerator stopped working. KA Extended Warranty offered a repair man in 9-12 days. I cancelled the KA Extended Warranty contract, hired my own appliance doctor, and within 5 hours it was fixed (the previous tech did not plug-in the valve to the refrigerator!). Poor product and even poorer service through the extended warranty.

KitchenAid needs to do a recall on this dishwasher. We have required repair to the top rack tracks on the left and right sides! The circular piece on the track that pops into the dishwasher rack keeps breaking. I am now going online to find replacement parts to (temporarily!!!) fix it myself. When I asked the repairmen who covers KitchenAid warrantees about the rack, he said he had not seen problems so I showed him the hundreds of comments and reviews from people who hate this dishwasher for this very reason. KitchenAid does not care and they can forget this customer forever.

I have a 4 year old Kitchenaid Dishwasher. We spent over $1,000 for it thinking we were investing in a very nice, long lasting machine. After a year, the right clip on the top rack broke and needed to be repaired by a technician. 6 months later the other side broke and we needed another service call. In the last few weeks, all 8 wheels have fallen off the bottom rack. We run the dishwasher about once every three days. I spoke to Kitchenaid customer service this morning via their online chat. The service representative admitted that there were so many complaints about my model that it should have been recalled. She said there was nothing she could do for me. I called and spoke to a customer service representative and their supervisor and they both refused to provide the replacement parts. My model is KUDE 40FXSP3. I will never buy another Kitchenaid product. Even when they know theres an issue, they will not take responsibility for it.

KitchenAid Refrigerator KSSC48QMS01 - Do not buy this refrigerator. We bought a home with a beautiful custom kitchen with this KitchenAid refrigerator and its just given us grief. Thank goodness we bought an insurance package to cover appliance repair. After three different repairmen and waiting weeks for parts to arrive, we found out most parts were not the right ones. Finally we got a Sr. tech guy to assess what was going on and we had to have the mother board sent out to be re-done. Well that seemed to do the trick, but 8 months later we are having issues again. Our insurance carrier would NOT insure the refrigerator. We ended up buying insurance from another carrier which should have told us something. We have rented a refrigerator while new parts are being ordered. We have lost several full freezer and refrigerator loads of food. No fun. I have no confidence with this unit ever being repaired. Its built into its own lacquer custom cabinet. Ugh. We now have another rental refrigerator sitting outside on our patio as we wait two weeks for parts. Would I buy a KitchenAid unit again. No Way.....there is no help out there to fix this mess.

Purchased KitchenAid Architect II 24 45 decibel built-in stainless steel dishwasher in May 2014. Problem with lower basket wheels falling off. This has happened twice, with the last time two wheels fell on to the heating element and burned up. A week later the burnt smell is still in the machine. Whirlpool, who makes this, said this is not considered a hazard because even though it burned up the plastic wheel, it did not cause a fire. A ridiculous answer! I suggested better fitting wheels are needed along with a screen over the heating element to prevent anything from landing on it. They wont do anything, even replace the wheels, because it didnt catch on fire!! Buyer beware - poor product, poor customer service!!

I always thought KitchenAid was a good company with good products... I was wrong. Within a matter of months, the range wouldnt work property. It couldnt be fixed so it was replaced. The replacement didnt work also and needed to be replaced! Five weeks later, we finally got a replacement range that worked. Now the fridge isnt working right. We have a French door with the freezer on the bottom and ice/water in the fridge door. It has been making loud noises and the freezer is not keeping items as cold as they should be and the ice maker stopped working. The warranty is only for a year so now after spending over $5,000 less than two years ago, we have to pay to get it fixed. We are stuck with the appliances for a while... they arent even paid off yet. I used to love KitchenAid but I will not buy one more thing made by them or recommend them. Beyond frustrated!!!

After 2 years my KitchenAid Dishwasher model #KUDC10IXBL2 needed a new circuit board replacement. We had an extended service contract - great you would think, but not so. After replacement, we had water leaking from the dishwasher. Now my hardwood floors are lifting and I have bowls under the door to catch leaking water. This is after numerous repairs of the gasket. KitchenAid does not take responsibility for damage done to your personal property. KitchenAid also contracts with a repair company called A&E. A&E gives you a time frame for repair between 8 am and 5 pm, so to say the least we have lost out on vacation time as we need to take a day off for repair. Each time the repair guy comes additional damage is done - most times they forget to have ordered the necessary parts, so need to reschedule to come back out. This last time I phone KitchenAid who told me the service guy could deem the appliance a lemon, however the service guy told us they would not allow him to do this. A&E has put into repairs on this dishwasher over $800 and we paid $535 for the item. Last week A&E came out again, it ran well before they left. The next day I went to run the dishwasher and bolts popped off and the unit gushed water. Seriously! My recommendation would be research your product well, not purchase a service contract through KitchenAID and ask if the service repair company contracted with is A&E. Bad experience and the poorest customer service ever!

KUDS35FXSS 8 is a Kitchen Aid dishwasher that has an obvious design flaw. We had a similar style KitchenAid at our last house which was a good product. When we built our new home we got the next level up. In less than 1 year, 3 of the small plastic pairs of clips that hold the wheels on the upper rack broke off. Today the dishwasher would not go into wash cycle and after watching a how-to video I found 3 of the little plastic triangle clip parts in the food chopper. One was wedged against the chopper blade. I removed it and the dishwasher works again. I wired on the top rack wheels with stainless steel wire. The lady at the service center said that they hadnt heard of the problem. We bought it a few months before installation so nothing was going to be covered. A friend just had the same rack breakage issue and several people on this site say so too. This has been so frustrating. I purchased 7 appliances at the same time, I did a remodel on my kitchen. My dishwasher failed after one year, the motor actually fell on the floor, it slow leaked onto my wood floors doing $40,000. damage, cabinets had to be pulled out walls repaired, took 5 months. My KitchenAid dishwasher KUDS35FX is 18 months old and has worked fine up until a few days ago when it just went completely dead. I didnt buy the extended warranty because I think they are a ripoff. I immediately started looking online for possible causes and solutions. It quickly became apparent that the problem was the thermal fuse. I called KitchenAid customer service 3 times, trying to get them to give me some help and what I got was ticked off. The first thing they told me was that I need to make sure and run hot water into the sink before starting the dishwasher, because the thermal fuse was overworked trying to get to the optimal temp, in this case when it failed, because I had the dishwasher set to sanitize. My issue is that I almost always start the washer right after dinner when I have finished rinsing off the dishes in hot water. They argued that the water needed to be 105, and I asked who in hell stands at the sink with a thermometer checking water temps? Why would they use such cheap and flimsy parts on a machine that I spent close to $900 on? If theres a sanitize feature, why do I have to worry that its going to wreck my machine? Next, they asked what temp my hot water heater is set at and did I know it was supposed to be 120. I said thats right where mine is. Then they suggested I could still spend $250 for their extended warranty and my repair would be covered. They refused to acknowledge that they are fully aware of these defects and refuse to make good on them. It is their cheap design and my tough luck. I called for repairs from the business that I bought the machine from and the tech told us that there is a harness kit for the wiring to keep it stable that KitchenAid came up with, because the connections would become loose from vibration, thus burn out the fuse when it became stressed. So they know they have a problem and they created a fix for it, but dont just fix it on their dime. They expect the consumer to do it. The service call and part cost me $170. I dont have money to waste on this ripoff.

We replaced our old dishwasher with a KitchenAid one hoping to have a long-lasting efficient one that would really clean our dishes well. We have had several repairs from Best Buy where the dishwasher was purchased. Our problems started six months after purchase and are as follows: First, the heated dry function does not come on with normal cycle. Second, the on-hour wash cycle does not clean well at all, so we can only use the longer cycles which are more time-consuming. We have replaced the racks three times. KitchenAid was contacted and they feel Best Buy should take responsibility for the machine while Best Buy held Whirlpool responsible. We did not purchase the extended warranty on the faith that KitchenAid is a good brand with a quality product. We will not purchase a Whirlpool or KitchenAid product in the future.

We purchased a KitchenAid range/oven, model # KGRS505XSS approximately 3 years ago. This is a gas unit, running on propane. Since we dont have supplied gas, in conjunction with the purchase, we had installed a propane tank, and supply line. Total cost, just over $3,000. Since purchase, we have had service for breakdowns 3 times, and I am currently taking time off from work for the fourth breakdown. The machine is out of warranty. My wife is meticulous with her equipment, and we purchased this based on other KitchenAid appliances purchased (albeit many years ago). UNEQUIVOCALLY, THIS IS THE WORST APPLIANCE PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE! We have repeatedly contacted the manufacturer to address the issues. The local appliance dealer, KLECKNER APPLIANCES, has REFUSED to help other than sending a paid tech. to address each breakdown. They refer us to the manufacturer. In my latest contact with them, they offered a PAID WARRANTY, TO THE TUNE OF $350. All aspects of this experience have been horrible. We host a number of family functions, and my wife is petrified that this appliance will break down Thanksgiving morning! From the appliance dealer to the customer service people at KitchenAid, not one individual has agreed that the breakdowns (complete, loss of use of one or more burner, now oven non working) that this should not happen, nor has anyone offered to address the situation, other than to send the tech. for what will probably not be less than $200. NOT CONSIDERING MY COST OF TIME...I STRONGLY URGE THOSE CONSIDERING THIS, OR EVEN OTHER KITCHENAID MODELS, TO LOOK ELSEWHERE. Had I known any of this would have occurred, I would simply have bought the Wolf or Jenn Air we considered. Absolute junk!!

I am very frustrated. I bake daily and am wasting a lot of food. We have tried everything theyve told us to do, but yet still the top layer is being dried out and the bottom remains raw. Does anyone else have the same problem or had it resolved?

Purchased a French door refrigerator from KitchenAid in 2017. To date, they have had to replace one of the French doors and the freezer door, now the rubber seal on the other French door is broken. The refrigerator is not used hard, we are a retired couple. The two doors that were replaced were due to a rust like discoloration bleeding through the stainless finish. In calling customer service to get the torn seal replaced, I have been placed on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes and still have not spoken to a person, I honestly don’t know if anyone will ever answer. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy these products, expensive and not worth it.

Heys guys anyone looking to buy KitchenAid think twice or maybe not think at all and move on to the next brand. I got the Kitchenaid fridge two years ago and this fridge has costed me more than 600 dollars now. My fridge stopped cooling and I called an guy to fix it. Then few weeks later it stopped cooling again so I called in another outside guy and he fixed it. Now it broke down again so this time I call the KitchenAid repair guy. He tells me that the computer has been messed up and it need to be replaced and ya its not covered under warranty. Its been not even 17 months and the computer has broke down. What a marketing hype it has created in market. I dont think you guys should make the same mistake.

We purchased the dishwasher (plus five other appliances) as we understood they were a quality product. After 30 months of minimal use we woke up to a major leak from our dishwasher thankfully not reaching our finished basement. Call in appliance repairman of high quality and had the the whole pump system replaced. The repairman said it was very common replacement on KitchenAid and it was probably a manufacturing issue. Talked with customer service and was told under no circumstances would KitchenAid stand behind their product as we did not call customer service first for service. Without a paper trail they would do nothing. I hope this will help other consumers make a decision on what products they will choose.
