We bought all KitchenAid appliances for our new home just under 10 years ago. The dishwasher lasted just 2 years before it needed replacing! Now the refrigerator leaks water everywhere! We found a sheet of ice under the freezer drawers…no drain plug or anything! It appears the ice was melting all over the kitchen floor! It will cost more to have someone come out to fix it than it would to just buy another appliance!! We’re buying a new LG refrigerator that Consumer Reports gives rave reviews! Staying away from KitchenAid forever!

I always bought KitchenAid for my appliances. I considered myself a good customer but right now Im completely dissatisfied and angry because on what is happening with my Range Oven/Microwave (Model KEMC308KSS01 - Serial XR5013510). I bought it on Nov. 2004. I had the Service Saver Agreement until 2005. On Jan 2005, the microwave glass door exploded for the first time. We replaced the glass with their service rep, Allstate Factory Service, for $400. On Nov 2005, the same glass exploded again, another $400 to replace it. We replaced the glass with their rep from Appliance Expert Appliance Repair. For the Third time on March 05 2012, the glass exploded again. The microwave glass door always exploded when was not in operation. We already spent $800 replacing the microwave glass door for a microwave that should work fine at the first place. We never experienced such a bad performance by any KitchenAid products before. I have to assume that the Range Oven/Microwave that I bought has a defect from manufacture, faulty and represent a safety hazard. Maybe they should have issue a recall of this model. But to tell you the truth, we feel scared about this product. We know it will cause an explosion or a fire or glass will start flying in the air, etc. We expecting to obtain a replacement since the unit never work properly and represent a safety hazard.

KitchenAid dishwasher KUDS35FXSS that retails for over $1000 was installed. One month later, the vent on the side of the door blew steam on my new Cherry cabinets damaging the finish. Talking to KitchenAid is useless. They made me purchase a $6.00 part (and pay $15 in shipping) to divert the steam from the vent. Dont they have engineers who could have figured out that you should blow hot steam on wood cabinets?

Kitchenaid 29 cubic ft. refrigerator is a complete lemon. Repair company has rebuilt whole fridge twice, from computer system, evaporator, dehumidifier, gaskets, drawer rollers, ice/water LED pad, and not to mention the pitting (rust) on the outside stainless steel. Best part, its not even 5 years old.

Warm up time of oven is very slow. The Baking (bottom) heating element lasted a year and is VERY DIFFICULT to replace. The thermostat is inaccurate and fluctuates with different amounts of error at different points in its temperature range. Oven door removal is not straightforward and can be jammed requiring replacement parts for repair.

I waited many years to finally get my KitchenAid appliances. I purchased them at Sears and I even bought the Premium service agreement. For unknown reasons, my refrigerator doors began to rust (I have pictures and would be happy to send them). There is no apparent leak or reason for this rust. When I contacted my service agreement, of course, they told me doors arent covered. I was told the only thing I can do is buy new doors. I would gladly do that if the damage was the result of neglect on my part. The refrigerator was purchased 11-02-99. I realize it is 13 years old but my last refrigerator was 25 years old when I gave it away (still running perfect and no damage - Kenmore). Since I have not received satisfaction about repairs, I have decided to keep my refrigerator as is. I make it a point to show it to everyone that comes to my home and telling them about how KitchenAid stands behind their product lines. Rest assured I will never purchase another KitchenAid anything. As much as it is embarrassing to have this in my kitchen, I feel spreading the word is more important.

Bought this June of 2016. Looks great and worked great. Received the ultimate error code. PO flashed every 10 minutes or so. Fridge shuts down and restarts. Fridge and freezer parts stopped working correctly. Replaced the pantry Drawer UI PCB circuitry board and the harness attached as instructed by Whirlpool through an authorized repair facility. Six hours later, error code returns and there are no noticeable changes. Had the evaporator motor replaced at a follow-up date, as the original part was wrong that was shipped. This cooled the fridge and freezer correctly, but the PO error code returned.$800 later, tech support at Whirlpool has 2 or 3 more ideas as to what else it could be. The fridge is out of warranty and customer support can only offer me $75 to help for the $3,500 spent. My 14-year-old Conquest fridge by Whirlpool in the warm garage is working better and has only cost me $45 in parts since new for a new fan motor. The design problem is that there is a circuit board under the water dispenser, and no way to keep any leaking water from frying the circuit if that was ever a problem. Im hoping the next dart we throw hits the problem(s) and fixes the issue.

Since the day I purchased this range, gas/convection oven, I have been disappointed with the quality. First of all, the salesperson at ABT told me the same thing about limiting the amount of self cleaning you do (but said you should do that with all self cleaning ovens.) Then, the fan on the oven sounds like a jet engine when it is on convect or cool down mode. I purchased this range in 2005 I believe, and this Thanksgiving, literally moments after the turkey was done, the oven shut down and will not turn back on. After reading all of these reviews, it clearly does sound like a recall issue and it is unfortunate that Kitchen Aid refuses to acknowledge their poor workmanship or design on this product.

KitchenAid 5 French door Fridge - Dont buy any KitchenAid appliance, everyone is way better off buying a Kenmore, GE, Whirlpool at least you know the product will last and do the job. My fridge does not dispense water after changing the filter, I followed all the instructions including running the water, NOTHING!!! On top of this my freezer door keeps getting stuck with frost, no kids in my house either. I have tried to clean it, keeps happening over and over! I am so done with this stupid fridge, no water, frost and all it is, is Eye Candy for the kitchen but does not function or work. I Might as well go get my 20 yr fridge from the garage and bring it in the house!

My mother-in-law, like many people of her generation, swore by the quality
My mother-in-law, like many people of her generation, swore by the quality of KitchenAid dishwashers. We have always bought them until now. Reading the complaints on the internet it is apparent that these dishwashers were once of high quality, but that this is no longer so. We bought one a little over a year ago to replace a 20 year old trouble free model (without doing any research). As predicted by the complaints on the internet, the top shelf failed within a year. We have had several service calls for other reasons and today we decided to simply pull out the KitchenAid, throw it away, and install a Miele (without great hopes). So, why has KitchenAid become so bad. The first thing to note is that Whirlpool now owns Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana and many other brands due to a purchase in 2008. They are all one company and, in a published peer-reviewed study (you can find it at the National Bureau of Economic Research website), it has been established that prices for dishwashers made by this mega-company increased and the number of models declined. In other words, Whirlpool has virtually no domestic competitors. Your only choice is foreign or domestic. Get used to it. The practical effect is that prices for dishwashers of the same quality have actually increased more than the above study indicates. It is a sad comment on an old American brand.

25 month old KERS505XSS Electric Double Oven Range - Apparently, the self-cleaning cycle of KitchenAid ranges should not be used! After reading about the problems people are having with the self-cleaning cycle on KitchenAid ranges, we had a different problem. After using the self-cleaning cycle, a three-inch long section of the lower front corner of the Interior Porcelain coating was missing creating a deep groove where grease would collect. The KitchenAid Customer Service Department has a stock answer, We do not cover that problem! When we told Customer Service that we were worried about grease collecting in the groove and starting a fire, we were told Thats very simple, do not use the top oven!

Since posting the initial review, I was contacted by a KitchenAid engineer who scans online reviews about their dishwashers. Im happy to say that the dishwasher has now been repaired at no cost to me. Hopefully the replacement rails and adjusters will last longer than the original ones did. Im very pleased that KitchenAid stepped up to make this right. Ive been a loyal customer of KitchenAid and will continue to be in the future. But this is only a great dishwasher if it stands the test of time and thats yet to be seen.

When we moved into our new house (new build) this was our refrigerator. It looked wonderful, but thats about all I can say positive about it or Whirlpool. Constant icing issues with no resolution from Whirlpool. This is a known issue as Ive come to find, but all Whirlpool does is provide a repair to melt the ice. No replacement, this is the third or fourth time this has happened. My recommendation is to NEVER buy this model, and if possible, never buy from Whirlpool.

DONT BUY!! This range DOES NOT CLEAN!! The technology of AquaLift Self Clean is falsely advertised. Do not use oven cleaners. No commercial oven cleaner or oven liner protective coating of any kind should be used in or around any part of the oven. Quote from manual. Dictionary: self-clean (of oven, filter, etc) - having a mechanism to clean itself. They have a customer service number dedicated to the AquaLift Self Clean system. This model, #KGRS202BSS, vents out thru center of oven door, venting out the front top of door positioned immediately below the range top handles causing handles to heat to VERY HOT! The oven tempered glass is cleaned by removing the whole door, disassembling - then cleaning both panels inside of glass & outside! HAZARD. A scratch to tempered glass can compromise it. NO one tells you that; do they!! How does this help improve to free up your schedule? What surface does one place the door on to clean it? HAZARD is cumbersome, possible breakage and injury while handling. Black stove top is NOT porcelain & stains permanently... as do the burner caps and burner flame tops. The top non-fingerprint stainless by panel scratches incredibly easy. It takes a long time to heat to desired temperature. UPSIDE: Range is attractive looking if thats all you require out of a range.Beware, KitchenAid is not customer complaint friendly to resolving issues - read reviews, they just keep sending out repairmen! They will chase you around the Cuckoo Clock! Once out of warranty, they will not talk at all! Check out the BBB complaints too! From www.whirlpoolcorp.com: We are the number one major appliance manufacturer in the world, with approximately 20 billion in annual sales. We provide purposeful technology that helps free up your schedule for what really matters. We feel that our products positively impact your life right now. Mission: Create Demand and Earn Trust. We are NOT feeling this right now!! They manufacture just about every brand, hmm.. monopoly springs to our minds. They are a global company. The sad part, this type of technology is fast becoming the future of all ranges! Why not! Whirlpool owns just about every brand so what they do becomes the design of all our product choices.

We bought a new Kitchenaid refrigerator French door bottom freezer model # KFIS29BBWH03. The Fan noise is horrible. Sounds like an Ambulance coming down the road. Very unacceptable. We also have ice on the back of the unit inside the refrigerator part which the latest service man, whom we have had four come, said it was a problem with the indoor ice. It also causes the shelves to be wet all the time. The service man has ordered a new computer board for that issue but says the fan noise is normal even though we can hear it throughout the house. Just want to throw this refrigerator in the trash but it was very expensive and if they could fix the noise problem I would be happy. But the noise is driving me up the wall. Wont buy anything from Whirlpool, who owns Kitchenaid and Maytag, again.

Please let me preface my following KitchenAid experiences with stating... I am well educated with university degrees in science and mechanical disciplines. Further, I completely understand that machines can be complex and occasionally need maintenance/repairs. I do not consider myself a complainer or online-junkie. However, KitchenAid warrants my outcry and warning to other consumers.December 2015 we replaced every major appliance in our kitchen with top-of-the-line KitchenAid appliances. A bad $9000 decision! Within 9 months the French Door refrigerator had two major repairs including a complete tear-down of the unit to replace the compressor. Since then it has been running more loud! The dealer (Anthonys TV and Appliance in Midwest City, Oklahoma) would not authorize replacing the defective unit despite an expensive extended warranty that was purchased during original acquisition. At least, on the refrigerator, we had the extended warranty or the compressor replacement would have cost huge dollars.Within 6 months the expensive built-in oven had to be re-calibrated because the temperature was so far off. It takes FOREVER for the unit to pre-heat. The screen readout on the unit shows the pre-heat is on, Low, and customer service states there is not a correction. This is a known issue on forums!Currently the dishwasher is awaiting pump motor replacement and has already had (a) the water valves replaced and (b) the expensive upper rack assembly replaced because it literally fell apart from becoming too brittle in the plastic sliding mechanism (another known problem on forums). Three (3) expensive repairs (out of warranty) on a dishwasher in 24 months? Bad! The $900 microwave has a mind of its own and often starts running again after a cycle is complete. And, sometimes when we close the microwave door, the unit starts running by itself necessitating the opening and closing of the door 2-3 times until the unit remains off. Bad!In summary... we purchased KitchenAid over Korean brands Samsung and LG in part to support the Made in USA label. Also, prior to purchase I contacted three appliance repair companies in the Oklahoma City area to ask their advice on brands that had good reputations for reliability and availability of parts. All three of the appliance repair companies recommended KitchenAid because Samsung and LG were reputed as having poor parts availability and did not offer training to techs as well as KitchenAid/Whirlpool Corp. does. Well, the Korean companies may have supply-side problems but... KitchenAid has very poor quality problems! To date we have had six (6) service calls and spent $100s to repair a suite of top-of-the-line KitchenAid appliances within 24 months of acquisition. That is unacceptable and I do not recommend KitchenAid to anyone. Avoid KitchenAid appliances. KitchenAid appliance have very poor reliability record. KitchenAid appliances are expensive to repair. KitchenAid appliances break down often. KitchenAid appliances are overpriced. KitchenAid appliance dealer (Anthonys TV and Appliance in Midwest City, Oklahoma) will not authorize replacement of lemon units and instead choose to force expensive warranty repairs onto customers, resulting in big cash flow to dealer from Whirlpool Corp. The dealer makes money and the customer must live with appliances which have lost factory integrity. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID APPLIANCES.

We bought all new appliances for our lake house from the same company we had bought appliances for our primary home (and NO it was not from a big box store but a legitimate appliance company). In 2013 we purchased KitchenAid refrigerator, dishwasher, double oven, range, microwave. The first season we had issues with the freezer draw icing shut and condensationing. Called the company. They came out and made some adjustments. Everything seemed ok. In 2014 we noticed the ice would work periodically, but then just started working. The range and microwave have never kept the correct clock time. Then late summer about a month prior to shutting the house down for the season. The freezer just stopped working. Then wishing 14 days the refrigerator stopped working. Being the end of the season, we emptied the appliance. I have called the company that we had purchased the appliances from (which had went bankrupt and was purchased by another vendor). I have yet to receive a call from the vendor. Know Im stuck on an island and trying to find an appliance company to hopefully repair my 3-year-old refrigerator. Unless the appliance can be repaired reasonably soon and at a fair cost I would never purchase or recommend KitchenAid appliances again.

Unfortunately, I am joining a long list of customers who purchased the Kitchen Aid Superba microwave oven/oven built-in combination. After less than 5 years, the bottom oven door locks, without warning or just cause. KitchenAid is aware of this manufacturer defect, but chooses to ignore it, and refuse to resolve this issue. Turning off the circuit breaker should reset the computer, but dont count on it. The other solution you may be given is to turn on the self clean feature, cancel it after 2-3 minutes, and hopefully it will unlock. I am appalled that managers like Kia (ID 8592), has no concern for customers. Kia basically stated that after one year, warranties expire, it becomes the customers problem. The licensed technicians are stumped to fix the problem, but wont tell you until they collect a service call fee. What is even more outrageous is the model and serial number are inside the oven, but when the door is locked, you cannot not see the number. It is a no-brainer to relocate the model and serial number, so it is accessible when the oven locks up, because it will. The bottomline is, a class action lawsuit needs to be filed, and a national recall needs to go into effect. Please send me an email if you want to be included in this lawsuit. Send facts with your complete information to **. This is an obvious manufacturer defect which is a hazard. The oven light will not turn off, and the oven door locks for no apparent reason. I am writing to the president Mark Bitzer and the CEO Jeff Fettig about the issues that should be a concern to them. Others experiencing this problem should write to them at ** Benson, MI 49022.

I purchased a KUDS30CSX in March. This is our 3rd call and 5th visit (including the 2 for replacing the parts once they came in). We have had the whole electrical panel replaced twice now. This time, the upper basket wheels are broken (one on each side). The locks do not hold fast and the rack slides out, falling off its guide. I also requested a silverware basket replacement as the basket came with one hole in the bottom, but now has two adjacent to each other. Just wanted to throw my $.02 in for what its worth. We bought a KitchenAid side by side refrigerator and have been totally dissatisfied with it right from the beginning. First, it is very loud when running. When we complained, the response was, to paraphrase, give it a few weeks, youll get used to it and you wont even notice it. That hasnt worked. Second, the ice maker is a joke. Very slow to make ice, cubes are small, and it wont keep up with the ice needs of only 2 people in the household. I have had Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) refrigerators for many years now. The older side by side was efficient but difficult to fit all frozen items in especially Pizza Boxes. So the newer Freezer I have is a Bottom Drawer Freezer, which may seem like a good Idea but is quite the puzzle to use efficiently. Most of the time, items are just stacked and get lost or hidden so you wind up taking more things out just to get to what you want. This type of freezer is not user friendly, but I guess is designed to allow better use of the Refrigerator portion of the unit. One last note, mine do not seal properly and frost built up around the drawer and now Whirlpool needs to replace it, the refrigerator is less than 1 year old and was $4,200.

We have had this range since March and it is a huge disappointment! On four different occasions the control panel has blown and shut down the power to the range. In order to restart it we had to reset the circuit breaker. After the second call to service we were told that we should put the stove on a separate circuit by itself. We hired an electrician and had a separate circuit put in for the stove. After the third outage KitchenAid replaced the control panel, but last week it went out again.Next problem is that the knobs and front panel get extremely hot when you run the oven for more than 30 minutes. You need a potholder to turn the knobs. Reported this concern to safety dept. who sent the serviceman again to test the temperature. It was 140 degrees at the knobs, but 160 is the legal heat level. A child could easily burn their hands. Lastly, the AquaClean does not work very well. The edges dont come clean and the large glass door is impossible to clean. There is heavy grease stains all on the glass that cant be removed. This range is not acceptable and is not recommended. There doesnt seem to be any resolution.

I have a Kitchen Aid gas range thats 5 years old now, and I have had nothing but problems with it since the first year i paid $1,800 for it. I called Kitchen Aid and they told me its my problem, cause its so, old 5 years old! Its not right that they can take peoples hard earned money like this. This to me is a scam and something should be done about this. People should get together, and not take this. Put a stop to it. Their appliances should be inspected by goverment officials to see whats going on with their products.

I regret every day that I bought a KitchenAid. I bought top of the line double oven and upon installation we noted that the oven door was crooked and installed wrong by manufacturer. I have not even used the oven but KitchenAid refuses to replace the oven door. They say that according to their manufacturers warranty, they are only obligated to repair it once the appliance is in your house. That is the worst customer service that exist.

Two years ago I bought what I thought was a beautiful new refrigerator (Model KFFS20EYMS01). It was a lot of money for a teacher. However I was excited to replace my 20 year old Whirlpool. What a dumb mistake. I thought Id done my research but apparently not. Six months after the warranty had worn out the machine began to over chill and making a racket of noise. After jumping through hoops and many many angry phone calls to KitchenAid and their repair contractors they agreed to pay for the repair. But it didnt fix the problem. This went on for two months. It was a nightmare. Now a year later, again the machine is building up ice. Do not buy a KitchenAid. I will never again.

In November of 2010, we had just finished our $18,000 kitchen renovation. Our $2500.00 side-by-side with freezer drawer on the bottom is a beautiful stainless steel. Was delivered and installed by Lowes. That is when the fun began. After about 2 weeks, we noticed that the food in the freezer was soft to the touch but cold. We gathered the children and told them of the importance of making sure the drawer was closed all the way. After several days and several lessons in proper door closing procedure, I noticed that there was never any ice when I wanted a cold drink. I soon came to realize after the food in the top part of the new $2500.00 beauty became room temperature that there might be a problem beyond my children and proper door closing procedure. Then the real adventure began. I called the customer service number in my trusty manual and spoke to one of the clear speaking people in charge of handling such situations. I was told that they would send a repairman to look at the refrigerator and the appointment was scheduled. When asked what to do about all the food in my stainless steel showpiece, I was told that they are not responsible for food loss in this type of situation. Maybe one of your neighbors could store your food for the time being. Yes, maybe I could have a neighbor store food for my family of 5 until I could get my metal closet repaired (midnight trips to get a snack are now more exciting). I then had the pleasure of meeting a repairman who was more than happy to look at my wonderful now skunky-smelling top-of-the-line food storage device. Mr. Repairman started poking and tapping and doing repairman type things. I will need to go through this section by section to try to eliminate possible causes to the problem, Mr. Repairman told me. When I asked what kind of time frame we were looking at, I was told, Minimum of 4 hours to dismantle, however many hours to do the repair once diagnosed and another 4 hours to re-assemble. Great, I said, My new state-of-the-art cold food making contraption will be spread out all over some repair shop for who knows how long?Oh no, said Mr. Repairman, We do it right here in your home. You what?????? You are going to take apart my appliance here, diagnose the problem, order the part, come back when the part comes in, repair it and then re-assemble it ????? Yes. How long are we talking about ???? 7 to 10 days if the parts come in. After a quick dial, I was back on with customer service telling them what I had just been told. Let me call the repair company, please hold. After a brief hold of about 20 to 30 min. I was told to have Mr. Repairman contact his office. When Mr. Repairman was done with his call, he printed out a slip from his little portable printer and told me that his office and KitchenAid determined that the repair was going to cost too much and that the unit should be replaced as totaled. Wow, what a relief. I was now put in contact with a customer service rep to arrange for my nice new right out of the box stainless steel replacement. Within 2 weeks, will have the new one delivered. What? 2 weeks? What am I to do for 2 weeks without a refrigerator? You can rent one until your new one comes, I was told. Anyway after my waiting period and lots of take-out, my new ice box arrives and is installed to numerous cheers from the kiddies. We thanked Mr. Deliveryman who left and we went on with our lives... until about 2 and a half months later. Honey, did you leave the freezer door open? Everything is soft. And there is no ice. Ring, ring. Hello, customer service. How may I help you? After an even more entertaining episode and even more trips from Mr. Repairman who used the term deja vu, it seems like I have been here before (long term memory is not an issue here). Mr. Repairman said that this was common and that a part needed to be replaced. He didnt have the part but it will be ordered. How long are we talking about? 7 to 10 days. Well eventually Mr. Repairman came back and replaced this little rubber part that lets condensation drip onto a pan so that it can evaporate. Problem solved... NOPE!!!!!! Several more visits from Mr. Repairman and several times telling him that yes, he had been here before KitchenAid decided that this unit also was too much to repair and authorized a replacement. And yes, it was going to be another 2 weeks. At this point I said, Hold on. Why would I want this thing replaced a third time? Can I get a different model? No, that is not an option. 2 weeks later, my brand new stainless steel right out of the box replacement replacement food keeper cold thingamagig makes its grand entrance. Mr. Deliveryman who also say it feels like he has been here before installs and again leaves. Wow what a journey. All this just to keep food from going bad even though twice it did. And after all this, I am still sane. I liked the refrigerator when I saw it in the store. It looked beautiful. Now all is going well and we still have our KitchenAid and it looks like everything is finally going to be... Oh wait I forgot to tell you that I just got off the phone with customer service because unit number three is doing the exact same thing. If anyone is interested in a stainless steel boat anchor, please let me know because I have one made by the good people at KitchenAid.

I had an old KitchenAid microwave that Sears could not fix, so they offered a $575 credit replacement for it. I went to Sears and the one they stated was the same one was on sale for total of $484.49, so I ordered it and a week later it was installed. With just the two of us, we barely used it. Three weeks later while doing a baked potato in it on sense position, it caught on fire melting the plastic inside. They came out and stated it wasnt repairable so now they would only give a replacement value of the $484.49, so I had to add money to it just to get another microwave. Only this time I bought a GE. It should be here on Saturday and I hope it lasts longer then the KitchenAid did. Do not buy KitchenAid KHMS 2040, it will catch on fire.

Model KFIS29PBMS French Door Bottom Mount bought July 2013. Have had repeated problems for 3 years. Serviceman comes almost on monthly call. Nearly ALL parts have been replaced. KitchenAid refuses to own up to a bad product although I have found numerous reports online of perpetual problems with this model. KitchenAid (Whirlpool) says its warranty for one year only -- thats about all this product is good for. Serviceman replaced parts 3 times in last 2 months. He was here yesterday and I will be calling for his return again ASAP. Refrigerator ices up, leaks, fails to keep food cool, etc. etc. etc.

An unusual problem occurred with my 1999 refrigerator. A screw broke inside
An unusual problem occurred with my 1999 refrigerator. A screw broke inside one of the back wall brackets that hold the shelves. I called KitchenAid for an authorized factory dealer thinking their experience would know how to resolve the problem. KitchenAid informed me the cost to send someone would be $129 plus parts, and if the tech stated it could not be repaired, they would offer something towards the purchase of a new refrigerator. The tech was not able to get the broken screw out of the bracket. I called KitchenAid in his presence, and they refused to stand by their original statement. The tech called his employer, A&E Service Co. and was told to do the best he could. He claims he inserted another screw near the broken one and put tape across the top and bottom of the bracket to hold it. He said this is a temporary repair that might last 3 months and then I would have to buy a new refrigerator. A&E charged me $166.20. I complained stating that wasnt the quote I received, and the tech was not able to fix the problem. They said they will reimburse me $26. I feel because the refrigerator was not able to be repaired, I should be reimbursed the full amount (A&E Factory Service, 35 Melville Park Rd, Melville, NY 11747, tel.# 800-905-9605). The tech arrived on January 7. I spoke to KitchenAids repair department, customer service, and the sales department stating what I was initially told about partial compensation towards a new refrigerator. Each department refused based on the year of the appliance. This is a very unusual matter. The tech noticed only very light items are placed on the 2 shelves involved. He said he never saw anything like this in all his time as a repair person. He noted it wasnt weight that caused the bracket to separate from the back wall. Am I entitled to a full reimbursement from A&E since they could not fix the refrigerator and I will eventually have to buy a new one? Is KitchenAid responsible in any way?

We purchased a new home with KitchenAid appliances and from day 1, my wall
We purchased a new home with KitchenAid appliances and from day 1, my wall microwave did not work and my stove malfunctioned. I called to register my products and was given a quote for an extended warranty (because apparently I am going to need it with these garbage appliances). I was told that they had to ship me some parts, which were out of stock and that I had to wait. After a month, I received the wrong part and called back. I was told the right part I needed was out of stock and had to wait again. After several weeks, I was told that they no longer made my microwave and that they would be sending me a new one. I was told that I could not get the extended warranty at this time because I would be getting a new microwave and if I bought the warranty now, I would have to pay extra to add my new microwave once it came. After several more weeks, the microwave came in and it was a countertop microwave, not a wall microwave. Obviously, it did not fit in my wall cabinet so the installers had to make modifications for it to fit. This whole process took about 3 months to resolve and I did not have a working microwave. Next, my oven malfunctioned with an error code and it would not turn off. I called customer service again, armed with my extended warranty price quote because clearly these appliances have significant issues. I was told that it is common for the error code to appear on my double wall oven model and that I had to shut my power off and on for it to reset. When I complained and said that it was unacceptable, I was told that it was an unfortunate situation involving these appliances and nothing could be done. I asked about my extended warranty, ready to shell out hundreds more on these appliances so that I could get them replaced when they break (which is clearly going to happen). I was told that the price had now gone up over 100.00 because it had been over a month since I registered my appliances. I told Jasmine, the call taker that I had a faulty microwave and had to wait months for a new one, so that is why I did not get the warranty when I first got the quote. She told me repeatedly that there was nothing that she could do and the quote was computer generated and she could not change the price. I asked for a supervisor and was told that Amber (supervisor) wanted me to know that she could not change the price either.I have decided not to purchase the extended warranty on these products. I spent over $10,000 on my gourmet kitchen and now I am stuck with these expensive appliances that will no doubt breakdown again and again. For now, I will make sure my flashlight batteries are charged up so I can make the trip to re-set my circuit breaker each time my oven acts up. Thanksgiving should be especially fun.

We purchased a KitchenAid 48 KSSC48QT side-by-side (for custom wood panel inserts) from Factory Builder Store along with a double oven, microwave, dishwasher, all KitchenAid. The ice maker on the refrigerator has been a joke from the beginning. The ice dispenser does not work, we have to open the freezer door in order to scoop ice out of the bin on the door. When we open the freezer door, ice always falls all over the place and the flap on the ice maker is covered with an ice sheet from some type of leakage. After reading everyones comments, I have come to the conclusion that KitchenAid will soon be a past American icon and I will need to just take it as a loss. What a shame. My kitchen is the heart of my home and was featured in our local newspaper and in MySanAntonio website. We entertain almost every weekend and I make sure all my guests and neighbors know that I dont have any ice from the freezer in my kitchen because KitchenAid makes a lousy product. Guests have naturally gone to the freezer door during a party to dispense ice and I just comment Oh sorry, it’s a KitchenAid. Don’t ever buy one! Please get the ice from my old freezer in the garage! (which for 10 years has worked perfectly). Some of these folks are CEOs, contractors and custom home builders so I make sure the word gets out. I guess I will just keep a supply of bagged ice till the whole ** thing gives out on us, which I expect will happen soon based on everyones feedback!

My husband and I bought all new kitchen appliances about an year and a half ago. We bought all KitchenAid: microwave, range, dishwasher and fridge. I always thought KitchenAid was a good company with good products... I was wrong. Within a matter of months, the range wouldnt work property. It couldnt be fixed so it was replaced. The replacement didnt work also and needed to be replaced! Five weeks later, we finally got a replacement range that worked. Now the fridge isnt working right. We have a French door with the freezer on the bottom and ice/water in the fridge door. It has been making loud noises and the freezer is not keeping items as cold as they should be and the ice maker stopped working. The warranty is only for a year so now after spending over $5,000 less than two years ago, we have to pay to get it fixed. We are stuck with the appliances for a while... they arent even paid off yet. I used to love KitchenAid but I will not buy one more thing made by them or recommend them. Beyond frustrated!!!

The KitchenAid refrigerator we have is just over 1 yr old, 6 weeks over 1 year. With no warning, when opening the pantry drawer inside the fridge, the pantry drawer lid just dropped off - a piece of plastic (end cap) holding that lid just snapped off. My girlfriend had the same thing happen with hers and predicted this when she saw what we bought. I did not expect it to happen so soon (especially as we no longer have kids home), a mere 6 weeks past the one year mark!! Kitchen Aid calls it cosmetic as we still have a refrigerator though this lid piece can no longer be in place... Im not happy. I first called a parts supplier and they knew exactly what piece it was as they are continually supplying this piece to customers as they know it to be a weak design.

Double Oven Glass exploded - I was preheating my oven to make chicken nuggets. I put the chicken into the oven and when the oven reached 235 degrees, the inside glass of the top oven exploded. We built a brand new house in 2011/12. New house means all new appliances. Our KUDS30IXSS6 from Sears seemed like a great product at first. So quiet you sometimes didnt even realize it was on. But then the wheels of the top rack broke off one by one. I realized my brand new Hickory floor boards were beginning to warp - the leak apparently inviting a colony of ANTS to live under my dishwasher!!! And the control panel would stop working from time to time, only to magically start working again after a week or two - just as I was about to call in a repairman. Well it has stopped working again and after reading countless stories of people with the same exact experiences as mine, Im not going to waste my money getting it fixed because according to the reports of others it will only happen again and again. This dishwasher is only 3 years old!! Within the first few months the problems started. A $900+ dishwasher that is worth nothing but a headache.

We purchased a kitchenaid dishwasher kude60hx 18 months ago. We purchased the extended warranty with it. The dishwasher pump clamp failed and drained a large amount of water on my hard wood floors. I was at home which saved me from lots of damage to my floor. Its amazing how much damage could have been done. A and e came out and replaced the clamp and the motor which failed from the water. A second motor was needed because the first would not work. Another one was ordered and they came later that day to replace it. Dishwasher still not working. Now a control board would be needed. Part was ordered. I had to wait another week to get that. The new control board was put in. Dishwasher still not working. Now a wire harness would be needed. That part was ordered - or so I thought. It would take 3 days. I called on my appointment day. The part was not in. They would be back in a week to put in the wire harness. The day before the appointment I called because I still did not have the part. I was told that was ok, they were bringing the part. The appointment day arrive. The tech arrived and asked me what was wrong with the dishwasher. He did not have the part. It was never ordered. Now I have to wait a week for that part. I will never buy a kitchenaid dishwasher. Its amazing the damage that can be done by the pump clamp failures. I called kitchenaid to complain. They could care less. I think a class action suit needs to be started. The part that fails costs several dollars. A and E has been a challenge. 4 visits and still not working. Its a shame. No one cares. No one is responsible. Almost exactly one month past the one year warranty, our KitchenAid Refrigerator/Freezer Model KRSC503ESS is having intermittent freezer issues. Came home from vacation to find water leaking from ice bin because temp inside compartment was well above freezing. Had hoped appliance store would stand behind product but did not/would not and passed it on their contracted repair service. I thought I was upgrading to KitchenAid when spending $2600. Thought I was buying years of satisfied ownership. I was wrong on both accounts. Fortunately (for the time being) the purchase was made through AMEX and we are hoping their warranty extension will see us through this matter. Regardless, I had much higher hopes of quality from KitchenAid.

We have had this dishwasher (KDFE204E) for less than a year. Within five months the dishwasher motor went out. The company was prompt and came out and replaced the motor. However now with the new motor, the dishwasher will not dry anything (not even regular dishes and pot and pans) and leaves soap residue on everything. The dishes seldom get clean, even with the soap residue left behind. I cannot recommend this company/product to anyone. Their newest solution with our appliance being only eight months old... use rinse aid or well be charged for a service call.

I have owned the KitchenAid Pro Scrub for two years. I purchased on the previous reputation of KitchenAid, and what a complete disappointment. What I was told about the dishwasher was, it is quiet, heats water to ultimate sanitation, no need to rinse, with garbage disposal, high powered, is an excellent option... the dishes have not gotten cleaned even pre-rinsing from day 1. Called the company I purchased the dishwasher from and the claim is I was not using the correct chemicals to clean the dishes. Really? I was told the dishwasher was the top product for cleaning the dishes... not chemicals. The dishwasher was somewhat quiet at the beginning but progressively became noisy, cleans off and on, and now, water does not make it up to the top basket. Followed the troubleshooting recommendations to check for blockages, although I always pre-rinse. No blockage; however, no water is getting to the top basket. Even tried dropping the basket to the lower setting and no luck. The top basket drops down and forward. The plastic pieces to the top sprayer in the back of the dishwasher does not line up properly, the plastic piece on the back is possibly warped. This is a very bad product.

At that time, the operator told us to turn down the temp of the freezer (below the recommended temp) so that it will freeze faster. Within a few months, dishwasher had a leak (fixed) and rust spots and discoloring of door panel - poor quality steel. Customer Service says these are cosmetic and they are not responsible. Trying to get panel replaced again. Quality Control needs to look at hundreds of complaints on the internet. Still have great stress from Hurricane Sandy - KitchenAid is causing more stress. We have an 18-month old KitchenAid refrigerator - high end model with the freezer on the bottom. It began to leak water that settled at the bottom of the freezer. After a time, it would freeze so much that it would eventually leak out onto the floor. We looked in the book - no help there. I found your forum and a problem just like ours (same model even). They said it turned out to be a grommet that was too small and that a new style had been developed. So we wrote to KitchenAid about this. They denied that there were any problems. After several conversations with them and a copy of one of your forum notes on this, they finally did agree to at least pay for the part. Well the appliance man came and fixed it. It was indeed the old style grommet. He said it happens all the time. We wrote to them again and asked them about paying the labor (part was about $12 and the labor is $100). No, they would not do this. Apparently, according to the repairman, this refrigerator is not the only one with this problem. This model is also sold by Maytag and some other - maybe Sears? Just slap a different name on them and they all have this problem. So buyer beware. Make sure that they check this out before you bring it home or you too will be paying the price to fix it. We really bought what we thought was a quality product (now that we are retired and didnt want to have to deal with repairs all the time). So much for that! KitchenAid support was of no help at all. If I had to do it over again, I would not buy another KitchenAid product!

Purchased new KitchenAid Architect Series French Door Bottom freezer refrigerator KF1S29BBMS02 for new house. This is the top of the line unit and we were extremely happy with the look, features and functionality. After 10 months of use the unit suddenly stopped working. Freezer temperature would barely get below freezing, the top refrigeration unit would not cool below 50 degrees and no ice would be produced. Obviously disappointed, but knew that we were under warranty and the unit would be fixed at no cost to us.Calling into warranty service was not too painful, short wait time and easy phone tree. People manning the warranty service line were all very pleasant and respectful. The issue is the process. The process as I understand it based on conversations with KitchenAid warranty service is that they will exhaust all options to attempt to repair the unit and then and only then will they consider other resolutions. In our situation we are in week five of the process. Four visits to repair unit, none successful and another visit planned in 2 days, which will be the start of week six, and we are still without a working unit. They will not offer a rental unit, but if you push they may offer you some minor value to offset the cost of a rental unit. In our area the shortest rental term was one month and the cost was over $160 per month. When I brought that number to KitchenAid, they would not provide that amount so we have to spend additional money due to their faulty product. When asked how long this may go on, they stated until the KitchenAid Warranty techs decided that the unit could not be repaired. Sounds reasonable, but what it equates to is weeks and weeks of back and forth between the third party service companies and KitchenAid Warranty techs trying different things to fix the unit. With each visit taking 3-5 days to schedule or longer if parts need to be ordered. Sounds like this effort goes on until the KitchenAid Warranty tech has replaced every part possible and there is nothing else to try. Based on current trend...this could take 8-10 weeks for our situation.I understand that process is necessary to protect business interest, but this has been a very frustrating customer experience that has completely thrown me off the KitchenAid brand and any other brand owned by Whirlpool. This is both from the quality and durability of the product standpoint and especially how the company deals with unsatisfied customers. While KitchenAid wont commit to what resolution they will offer if the unit cant be repaired, my preference would be a refund so that I can buy a product that is more reliable. My advice, Bing search how many complaints against whatever model of appliance your are considering and look for models with the lowest number or less significant type complaints. Reading the complaints about the model we bought after the fact, I very much doubt we would have purchased.

You can not tell me that isnt an issue with the model. KitchenAid said not my Problem. Have to pay for a service call. They didnt even have technical support... for DYIs. Do not buy KitchenAid gas range unless you are ok with cleaning the oven yourself using harsh chemicals. The Aqualift technology does not work one bit and this will deter me from ever buying another KitchenAid gas range again. I am sick to my stomach... Just redid my entire kitchen in KitchenAid products thinking they were a good investment. The built-in wall oven is the WORST. I have used it once, for one batch of cookies - 350 degrees, bake time - 10 minutes. The first sign of trouble was how loud the oven was when cooking, seriously annoying. I figured I could get used to that, thinking it was just new technology at work. Was I ever wrong. The fan (and it is loud) has continued for an hour... As I write this, it is still as loud as can be. And we are talking only 10 minutes of cook time at 350 degrees! I am so bummed I cant stand it. I have never written a review for anything in my life, but because I know that I am going to have absolutely no recourse on this (I can hear it now... But there isnt anything wrong with the oven), Id like to prevent someone else from making the same mistake.

I have lost all perishables both times. KitchenAid refuses to replace this defective appliance. Today is the third day I have missed work waiting for a repairman. This unit cost me $2800.00. Kitchen remodeled in spring 2005 and thought I was buying quality products, KitchenAid. The refrigerator when delivered appeared to work correctly but in fact was not. There was no Freon in the unit so several hundred dollars worth of food was spoiled and KItchenAid denied any responsibility. The appliance company I bought the appliances from replaced with a new unit. The KitchenAid microwave came with a broken plastic handle. KitchenAid refused any responsibility so I have been using it as it with tape holding the handle in place. The KitchenAid range I purchased had a problem with the control panel. I could start the oven, but could not turn it off with the off button. I had to replace the control panel, at a cost of almost $300.00. The last issue is the dishwasher, which went on fire on 14 Dec. 2011. I am still trying to deal with KitchenAid (Whirlpool) on this issue and am thoroughly disgusted by the company’s attitude as well as the personnel who manage these types of complaints for them.I will never purchase a KitchenAid appliance ever again and will spread the word among my family and friends about the lack of conscience this company has in selling inferior products.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (model # KUDS30IXSS4) about 3 1/2 years ago when we remodeled the kitchen. The plastic clips that held the upper rack in place broke 2 different times... This was shortly after the warranty expired so I paid both times for the repair. KitchenAid did finally replace this plastic clip with a metal clip on all of their dishwashers but they called it an upgrade and not a recall so they did not reimburse me for the almost $300.00 I had spent on previously repairing the faulty clips. Shortly after the plastic clips had broken the second time the dishwasher made a funny noise. I shut the washer off and then restarted it... Upon restarting it...it seemed fine... However, shortly after this it stopped cleaning the dishes...This was right in the interim when KitchenAid replaced the plastic clip and went to the metal. What we did not realize is that pieces of the broken plastic went down into the chopper/grinder and broke that section of the dishwasher. When the repair man finally realized what had happened we called KitchenAid. I asked KitchenAid to step up and take responsibility for the faulty design and they declined saying that there was not enough evidence/proof that it was faulty design. Needless to say I will never purchase another KitchenAid/Whirlpool product only because they will not step up and take responsibility for their product. Final note...this new repair will cost another $300.00.

Upper rack was over designed with too many moving features causing inherent weaknesses in plastic components. One year after use started the first plastic tabs started breaking. Without buying a whole new rack there was only one option. Had to figure out stainless steel bolts and nuts to replace broken tabs. Tedious but do-able. I believe most people (probably 95%) do not adjust the racks anyway because they are complicated to adjust. Why build things that break? Just keep it simple! Otherwise this dishwasher works great. It is very quiet and washes well. Clean look. If they would make the upper rack as simple as the bottom rack it would be bullet proof. But no, the Kitchenaid engineers and marketing people had to complicate it by putting in breakable features most people do not use. Thanks for messing up an otherwise great product. Now figuring out my fourth set of bolts to keep the upper rack in place and gliding like it should.

My wife and I bought a KitchenAid Dishwasher, Model KDTE334DSS, just about two years ago. The top rack on this appliance is the biggest piece of GARBAGE Ive ever seen in an appliance, and has been falling apart since we bought it, and paid close to $1000 with installation and delivery. The entire rack system is supported by chintzy/cheap plastic parts that constantly break. Now the control panel is not working so we cant run it. The repairman tells us the part is $250, without installation, BUT IS ON BACK ORDER WITH NO DATE LISTED FOR AVAILABILITY. To make matters worse, I call KitchenAid and the arrogant response I get is theres nothing we can do to help you, and when I ask why a part for a two year old appliance is on back order, and if theres a problem, Im told its because its a popular dishwasher.I ask to speak to a supervisor and Im told sure but then get hung up on. KitchenAid products are clearly GARBAGE and KitchenAid employees will treat you like GARBAGE. Reminds me how the US auto industry lost so much consumer confidence. I will NEVER buy any other KitchenAid product and wouldnt shed a tear if they went out of business...

IN 1953 my parents built a house after I was born. They had a KitchenAid dishwasher that was still working perfectly in that house when they retired to Florida in 1986. I figured that was a good reason to look at KA appliances when I remodeled the kitchen in my current house in 2011. BAD MOVE!! I bought a whole stainless KitchenAid kitchen (warming drawer, cook-top, double built-in convection oven, hood, etc.). Im now looking at the four repair tickets that document the three months it took for them to get the double oven model #KEMS308SSS04 brains working - thankfully covered under warranty as it was within weeks of installation that the troubles began - and thinking I didnt know how good I had it then compared to the dishwasher travails Im still going through!.The dishwasher - Model #KUDS30FXSS1 - has broken down four times. The first time was just after the warranty ran out and we paid for labor when they replaced the controller circuitry. The second was shortly after the first and we paid again for the part to be installed - both times having to wait several days, dishwasher less, for the part to be delivered after the diagnosis. On the third time the control panel went dark, about two months ago, I opened the unit (having seen techs do it four times) and after jiggling the circuit boards and re-seating the plugs it lit up and worked... until we loaded it after dinner last Thursday. Now the control panel is once again dark. Im waiting for some response from Kitchen Aid and Im warning you not to buy Whirlpool corporation stuff as it doesnt dont work and the company doesnt care.

Bought my KitchenAid dishwasher just over two years ago. Last week ago the top rack crashed down into the bottom rack. They were both full of dishes, lots of broken glass. Long story short, glass bits ended up in the motor costing me nearly 400 dollars to replace. The good news is that after I told the phone rep that I had owned only KitchenAid dishwashers for nearly 30 years and was disappointed in how this one had failed, she got them to mail me a set of adjusters for free. If only she had gotten an authorization for the repairman to install a set, he could have taken care of the problem while he was here. I am still waiting for the adjusters to arrive in the mail, then I have to install them. Whirlpool should just admit they screwed up and take care of this problem.

Last summer, my KitchenAid Refrigerator (not a year old) stopped working. After two months of repairmen being sent by KitchenAid (A and E Services) and numerous ordering of wrong parts, the refrigerator was repaired (or so I thought). Now this week, the control board does not work. A repairman came, and after two hours, the refrigerator still is not fixed. The required parts are supposed to come and be installed next Saturday. I paid over $2,500.00 for my KitchenAid refrigerator/freezer, and I have been totally dissatisfied with this appliance. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again. The KitchenAid representatives seem to lack any concern for this problem.

We have a KitchenAid KHMC1857WSS--0. We purchased it on 1-29-10; it was delivered on 2-14-10. It first quit working last 12-29-10. I was using the Convect Roast, auto mode, pizza, when it went out very near the end of the cook time; about 15 minutes into the cycle, it blew the fuse. We called and they scheduled service for 1-3-11. They replaced the fuse and said it worked. On 1-18-11, it broke down again in the same mode. Service was scheduled for 1-20-11. They replaced the fuse and some other part, and they offered to extend the service warranty for one year. Good thing, cause it broke again and was serviced on 2-3-11. I asked for a replacement microwave; they dont want to do it, saying that it is more than a year old and is not covered. It broke again and was serviced on 3-7-11. After much complaining, they agree to offer us a microwave replacement for $300. The new microwave was installed on 3-30-11. For some reason, I thought this would fix our problem. But we have the exact same problem on our new microwave. It was first serviced on 10-5-11. They came back on the 13th to put in the new parts, and the service man declared it fixed. I ask that he run it in the pizza mode before he leaves. Guess what, it blows the fuse again. He called it in, and they want to put in another new part.I am fed up. I want a microwave that works. I paid about $1000 for a new one and then paid $300 for a replacement, and I still have junk. The only offer from KA is to continue to service it. I want my money back for the replacement and a microwave that works for more than a month without breaking. KitchenAid will not stand behind their product and has done nothing but steal money from me.

I purchased an expensive refrigerator based on previous experience with Kit
I purchased an expensive refrigerator based on previous experience with KitchenAid. In 2003 I purchased a refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. No calls ever to the customer service for any problems. They lasted 14 years. Thats why I went with them again. BIG BIG MISTAKE. This refrigerator Model#KRMF706ESS has been a problem since I plugged it in. I have missed almost two weeks of work waiting for technicians. I have had many service calls for the same issue and Im still not sure if its resolved. The last technician came out last week and within days my refrigerator is broken again. We started seeing puddles on the floor. The ice was melting in the container. We emptied container and now it doesnt make ice. I called KitchenAid, nothing they can do, when is enough, enough with these people. There was nothing wrong with the money I gave them for the refrigerator. I purchased a new appliance and its been nothing but a pain. They have replaced the same part three times. It still wont fix the problem. I am beyond frustrated. If I could give negative stars I would. When I contact the customer service department its like I am bothering them and wasting their time. They are wasting mine. Customer Service is a thing of the past with their rude customer service people and they dont care now that they have my money. It wasnt working right from the start and it continues to be a problem. I have lost faith in my refrigerator. I dont know if I could go on holidays and leave this appliance on. I wonder if anyone else is having a problem with this refrigerator. The service guy said that they have had nothing but problems with this model. They didnt test it long enough. I guess whoever buys it is a guinea pig. I would never ever ever recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid again. This is the absolute worst service. Since Day 1 it hasnt worked properly. They tell me in order for it to be replaced it has to not be cooling. A technician has to report to them that it is unrepairable and then after he does that, they send it to their engineers and then they see if they can come up with a solution. They could care less how many days of work I miss. They are waiting for my warranty to expire so they can take me to the cleaners for the continued work I know will have to be done once it is out of warranty. Thats the day they are waiting for... class action... thats the day I am waiting for. I know its only $5000.00 but it has cost me more than that now with all the time off work. What happened to the days where companies actually cared about the customer??? I was told the first time I bought the KitchenAid back in 2003 was when it was KitchenAid KitchenAid, now it is KitchenAid Whirlpool and now it sucks!!!!

Horrible manufacturing!!! KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDE20IXSS8. Motor only mounted with a very SMALL PLASTIC grommet. Further, from the motor is a rubber hose/gasket that is clamped with a one-time-use flimsy ring. This attaches to the plastic drain pipe. When the grommet failed (vibration, etc), the flimsy plastic ring could not hold the weight of the motor separating the motor with the rubber hose FROM the drain pipe. SEE where Im going here, yes, catastrophic failure. Yup, water gushed out all over my kitchen floor. Under flooring, cabinets, under refrigerator. Water/moisture mitigation was encouraged by insurance company before repairs. Repairman also mentioned he has repaired this same problem 5 times. Shame on KitchenAid (made by Whirlpool), this should be recalled and at a minimum manufacturing resign is a must!

We contacted the company, a repairman came out and had to order a new part for the fridge (which took another 2 weeks for the order to ship and installation). Less than one month later, the ice machine broke again and the LED light on the shelf started blinking like a strobe light. Repairman called again, new parts had to be ordered again and another 2 week wait for the parts to come in and be installed. I wish I had never purchased this product. There were many that were practically identical/very similar to our horrific experiences with our KitchenAid dishwasher and the accompanying atrocious customer service. At this very minute I am typing to the sound of 3 industrial size fans in my kitchen drying out my wood flooring and kitchen cabinetry for the third time in 2 years. My guesstimate for all this is in the realm of a year of college tuition (private, liberal arts) as we have now had 3 replacements of flooring, cabinetry, and plumbing. So I definitely hope my daughter is cramming in those college classes, because she is going to have to hurry up and graduate in 3 years as KitchenAid has burned up one year of her tuition!

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with KitchenAids failure to stand by their product. I purchased a $3000 stainless steel fridge last year and my fridge is still under warranty, but because the rust is cosmetic, KitchenAid feels no obligation to stand by their expensive stainless steel product and Ive been told that it is rust resistant, but not rust proof. They say all stainless steel can rust in certain environments. I have only used soap and water and never used a stainless steel cleaner or corrosive or abrasive product on the fridge and it is in my newly built and dry house. It is under a year old and I wonder what itll look like in another year. Kitchenaid offered me the opportunity to extend my warranty for hundreds of dollars, but offered no repair or replacement of the rusting door panel I called them about. What kind of stainless steel exists? Low-quality stainless steel with impurities. My stainless steel Bosch range hasnt started rusting and I clean it constantly with various cleaners. Clearly KitchenAids product is inferior and low quality.

I looked and looked at gas ranges - I was very excited to be able to use gas again. I selected this Kitchen Aid stove and was not told that the central oval burner, which I paid extra to have, would not provide more than a low flame. You buy the whole 5th unit for just pancakes only! The self-cleaning oven will not clean the sides of the oven, only the pan over the burner. The little top oven is meant only for warming, not baking or cooking because it cooks so unevenly that toast, food and cookies are done on the glass side and burned on the back side. I have had KA service people out twice and they say that thats the way it is and that it registers 350 degrees when checked. I could have bought an oven for less than 1/2 and had a better oven. We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher three months ago. We have had at least two previous dishwashers which were fine. This model KDFE104HPS O leaves water on the dishes and the door. We had two repairmen look at it. The most recent said there seems to be no problem even though the dishes do not dry. He stated that 1) The stainless steel models seem to have that problem; 2) We need to get the water hot before starting the dishwasher so it does not lose the first cycle heating the water; 3) We should use a special rinse agent to aid the drying and 4) We should use the extra dry cycle. In addition, there is an odor that smells like a wet blanket and I think I have even smelled mold. I have owned five dishwashers over the years and have never had this problem. The solutions provided by the repairman actually will cost us more money to run the machine. The only good feature is how quiet it runs.

The owners manual contained nothing about this. I attempted to call KitchenAid about the filaments. Per page 22 of the owners manual, After checking Troubleshooting, you may find additional help by checking the Assistance or Service section or by calling KitchenAid. When I called, they cited numbers I encountered only a recording directing me to choose from ordering parts or scheduling a service call. I had to learn from non-KitchenAid online sites the filaments are fiberglass. The salesperson, from whom we purchased the oven, directed us to heat the oven to 350 degrees for 2 hours to burn those off and any other oils. We did not find anything in the owners manual identifying and addressing this. We do not want to suffer harmful health effects from eating fiberglass filaments in our food, there is a reason why people wear respirators while installing fiberglass installation. Why would KitchenAid think its okay to be eaten in food?Nor did the owners manual say anything about having to remove the entire appliance to change the microwave light; only that it is inaccessible. This was not disclosed to us when we previewed and later purchased the unit. We were further angered by what we have read today on this and other sites concerning exploding glass, locking doors and temp controls necessitating pulling the circuit breaker to shut it off, self-cleaning leading to exploding glass, inability to replace the microwave light without removing the entire appliance, and KitchenAids knowledge of all of this and more with an unbelievable lack of response reminiscent of Fords fatal exploding Pinto gas tanks and failing Explorer tires. We were already without a microwave and oven during several weeks of our kitchen remodeling, now my wife is afraid to use this appliance, wanting it removed from our home. Most likely, this will necessitate rebuilding the cabinet to accommodate another companys microwave and oven combination, and whatever additional expense and time that will require. Needless to say, after reading this and other complaints we do not hold our breath that KitchenAid will assist us in any way.We have contacted the appliance dealer from whom we purchased this oven to return it. We await his response. We strongly suggest filing complaints with the FTC and reference this and other sites in our complaint.

Just purchased this dishwasher (KTA 44 dBA) mainly because it matched the refrigerator KRFF707ESS I wanted and am pleased with. However the top tier drawer of dishwasher is pretty much useless. I thought it was for stacking flatware but the prongs are so short, the flatware falls over. Wish I had bought a Miele which is more expensive but definitely superior. So now Im not using the upper tier for flatware. Alternative is this enormous basket which takes up so much space. No one would ever have need for that much basket space... takes up the whole depth of bottom drawer, which by the way, slide out on their own volition often. Dont stay closed unless you forcefully push it into place. Not thrilled with this dishwasher. It is quiet and it does clean. Thats it. Spend the money and get a Miele.

The machine has refused to operate properly from day one. We were offered a manufacturers rebate because the prior dishwasher was recalled. The Lowe’s sales woman in Flint, Michigan assured us were buying a top rated machine. As a rule, I can spot bull. Did I ever miss on this one? If you are on Facebook and on my friends list, feel free to block me. If you buy KitchenAid, please remove me from your list.

While at my parents house they described a plastic odor from their Kitchen Aid Convection oven when the oven is used (all electric). I turned the power off inspected the connections on the outlet for the oven and also the connections to the oven itself. All are tight and no signs of heating up etc. I plugged everything back in and we turned it on, nothing at first but after about 3-5 minutes you could smell an odor from the upper portion of the unit. Again turned everything off, opened up the back panel and there it was, the oven control board had a larger connector which feeds power to the oven elements and it was melted to the board. I removed the board for replacement. A local company near us (Servall) had a heck of a time finding this part and the connector as well, the board is manufactured by Eletrolux but is in the Kitchen Aid. As of now, the cooktop just works but no displays since the oven control board also controls the displays. I am a master electrician with in-depth knowledge of controls, there has to be something wrong with the board from Electrolux which has been causing all the headaches for all these customers. I am not sure if the self cleaning function has been used but will recommend that it not be used unless someone is there and they want a possible fire. What a shame and shame on Kitchen Aid for not doing something for all these people who have paid in excess of $1000.00 for a heater. Buy another brand and let other know about it as well, Electrolux is a large company or brand that is well known in Europe for its quality, too bad Kitchen Aid botched this one up. Someone needs to step up to the plate make it right before someone gets hurt. You can fix a house but not a life.

Purchased dishwasher and had it professionally installed 4/16/2013. 9/13/2015 unit stopped working. Called Home Warranty Company who sent out repairman and diagnosed problem as bad Electronic Control and Console Assembly. Repairman called back and advised that items were covered under second through fifth year warranty by manufacturer. Contacted KitchenAid 9/14/15 and appointment for their repairman was scheduled for 9/24/2015. At time KitchenAid was notified, I advised the parts that we were told were required.9/24/2015 KitchenAid repairman came and confirmed that electronic control was bad and needed replacement. He subsequent, 9/28/2015 returned and replaced electronic control and then confirmed that user interface was bad and needed replacement however, that was not covered under the warranty because, even though it is the electronic interface between the user and the electronic control, it was not considered an electronic control. My opinion is that seeing as it is a set of electronic pressure switches, connected to the electronic control by wires, it is an electronic control.9/28/15, I contacted KitchenAid and was curtly informed that it is not a covered part and that I could purchase it if I wanted. I am now back with the initial Home Warranty Company to determine if they will obtain and install the required part.

My top of the line, three year old, stainless steel KitchenAid refrigerator
My top of the line, three year old, stainless steel KitchenAid refrigerator stopped cooling. Main circuit board is defective. Exactly like Ians review, I was told directly by a supervisor that no replacement boards have been made since the tsunami. In over two years, KitchenAid has not obtained a US based company to make these replacement boards. They have to be mailed to a company that rebuilds the boards and it takes at least two weeks before the repaired board is returned. This is the worst and most shameful business practice I have ever heard of from a world wide company. I have the KitchenAid Extended Warranty, but a loaner is NOT part of your KitchenAid warranty. And you are supposed to be perfectly happy going without a refrigerator for over two weeks. I purchased the KitchenAid built in wall oven, convection oven/microwave combo at the same time, along with a top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher. After spending more than $8000 on this suite, I cant wait for the non-existent circuit boards to go out on these other appliances. My husband wanted to buy the Samsung refrigerator, but I insisted on buying American made since the US was in the middle of the Great Recession. I will be spending my money on Korean appliances from now on, now that I have learned that KitchenAid has knowingly left all of their appliance customers without a source for new, replacement circuit boards. Heres a suggestion KitchenAid... Jabil Circuit, a gigantic, world wide circuit board company is based right here in St. Petersburg, Florida, where I live. If you cared one bit about your customers or your reputation, you would have them or one of the dozens of other companies in the US that manufacture the same things, supply you with new replacement boards. Yours is a shameful business model. I am done with KitchenAid.

We had the worst experience with a Kitchenaid dishwasher. I made many attempts in calling them and nothing was ever done. All they did was they send me the same technician over and over. Today we had the technician come and he recommended to get a simple model and not to go with the KitchenAid brand. The sides of my kitchen where the steam vents are in the dishwasher, they are destroyed them completely.

I believe the adage is true, things just arent made the way they used to make them. Its 4 years old, the wheels pop out of the top track constantly and weve had some problems with leaking. Maintenance was out to fix a problem within 6 months of owning because the motherboard fried. It went almost a year without working through certain commands. For instance: if you wanted to use the normal or heavy wash cycles, forget it, the machine would only run the one hour cycle. Its just been a pain in the butt. However, it is quite quiet. Especially compared to our last dishwasher. Not as quiet as some, but it is sufficiently quieter than I had expected.

We bought the dishwasher about 2 months ago, I have had Sears service out to check it out and the tech basically said it was all my fault. The dishwasher doesnt clean, it doesnt dry, you cant interrupt the cycle (add a dish) without starting over. I have to make sure the dishes are spotless before putting them in the washer. Many times the detergent door wont open and when it does the packet just sits in the holder and never gets into the washing area. I feel that I have wasted close to $850.00 which is something I can not afford. I would never buy anything they manufactured again.

In the past 8 year I have built 2 new homes on the upscale side of the housing market. In both situations I used higher appliances from KitchenAid. For the investment made, I am very dissatisfied with quality of the produce drawers. On both drawers, the chrome deco on the drawer handle has come loose dueto faulty adhesive and both drawers have cracked in the center of the drawer handles. This is something I would expect from a 300.00 refrigerator, not one over 2000 dollars @ builders cost. In addition, I had the ice maker replaced in 6 months due to a faulty board, which is something you as manufacturers are aware of, but failed to advise the consumer. We have replaced the ice maker board and now will address replacing both produce drawers. I must say that after less than one year of ownership and facing the fact that all the other series of appliances are also KitchenAid products, I am waiting for the next problem to occur. I come from a family of builders, both residential and commercial and intend to advise them to consider other upscale appliance manufacturers on future projects. If this letter never goes up the management ladder I am sure I will receive the same reply as my last e-mail, indicating that your Customer Service Department also needs repair. Being an owner of several national companies myself, I am very aware of the damage that can be done by not reacting to a problem, where consumers are involved. Thank you.
