Kitchenaid KUDS35FXSS type 5771 dishwasher - The top rack pins broke and the rollers fell off, making the top rack useless. Trying to find the part but unable. After using the dry cycle I still had to dry my dishes by hand. Replaced all my appliances, my biggest complaint is the dishwasher. Never buy Kitchenaid again.

I am very happy with my stove. I have a gas stove and it also has a convection option. The heat seems true to temperature. The convection is a great option when you need to cook in less time. The only drawback is the knobs are not a solid piece and the wrap they put on it seems to be coming off. I use the stove a lot!

Im a commercial dishwasher repairman. My 10-month old dishwasher failed, dead, no lights, nothing. I checked the power and performed troubleshooting steps, determined the problem was a bad control board. I called the folks who sold it to me. They did not have a control board in stock. I asked that they bring a board with them so they could fix it with one visit. They said no, they could not be sure the board was the problem. I was going to have to wait 5 days (including Saturday & Sunday) for them to show up between 1 and 4, and then have to go through another wait until they were able to get the part. I am not very fond of washing dishes by hand, so I called around and found a parts place that could have the part by the next day (Saturday). The part came in and I installed the part, which fixed the problem. I called the dealer and canceled the service call and asked if it was possible to get any credit on the part. They said no, but I could call KitchenAid. I called KitchenAid this morning. No luck, it did not matter that Id saved them two service calls. It did not matter that I had taken the risk for the cost of the part if my diagnosis had been incorrect (with electronic parts, once the box is open, you own it). After speaking with Shari and David (a supervisor), KitchenAids policy is inflexible. If a customer touches it, they dont warranty it. In addition, they refused to send someone out to inspect my work or to confirm the board was bad. Im very disappointed! Heck, if they had offered to split the cost of the part or even to give me credit towards my next KitchenAid Appliance, Id have been thrilled. Instead, I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth.

We bought all new KitchenAid appliances for our new home in late 2011. Two years ago I had to replace the refrigerator after losing the compressor. It was going to be almost $900 to replace the compressor or $1300 to buy a new refrigerator, so we bought a new fridge, but NOT a KitchenAid. Also in 2017 two of the five burner knobs seized up and could not be turned on. Another service visit and about $500 later these were fixed. Now this week I’ve had to call for service AGAIN because two other burner knobs have seized up and cannot be turned on. This will cost me another $400-500 again to get it serviced. I’m seriously thinking about replacing it with an electric range. It takes forever for the oven to preheat and also takes forever for water to start boiling. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER KITCHENAID PRODUCT!! They used to be great but nothing but problems now.

This dishwasher (KitchenAid Dishwasher KUDSO1FLSS6) is seven years old and I have spent more money than the dishwasher is worth. I wish that years ago I would have just bought a new and different brand dishwasher. The control panel has broken several times, the motor stopped working, the plastic utensil holders have melted and my dishwasher is not working again. I just had the panel replaced for close to $300 in February 2012 and the dishwasher does not turn on again! I also find that customer service is awful. I am waiting to hear a response from a representative but I wont sit by the computer. Another reason not to purchase a Kitchen Aid appliance is they use A&E Factory Service and they never show up. I think they are worse than KitchenAid. I had to have my refrigerator replaced several years ago because of a part flaw. I am done with KitchenAid products.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher a year and a half ago. When I moved in the house, there was a perfectly good working dishwasher in the kitchen, only problem was it was from the 1970s. I replaced it with a sleek stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher. It worked flawlessly until just after the warranty expired. First, the top shelf did not get very clean despite my efforts to clean the jets. Then the rollers of the top tray broke making it very difficult to operate the tray. I suspect this is why it is not cleaning well because the tray is misaligned. Now, the dishwasher often does not work at all. It beeps and nothing else. It even beeps if both trays are removed. KitchenAid was not helpful at all when I contacted them. Avoid!!!

I had 2 different KitchenAid Dishwashers in 9 years. Neither lasted more than 5 years. One only lasted 4 -- AND I bought the 5 year warranty. However, it doesnt cover the PUMP which broke. What is the use!?! I am so frustrated. I was dismissed by their customer service, and just told sorry. Well, that is certainly not good enough. This is a rip-off. If you are ok with spending over $800 every four years, good for you, but I am not. I called repair people in my area and they said the minimum cost to repair is 400. They said that model was not good to begin with, but I researched and researched, and I trusted the name. But they dont stand behind their product to even have parts in their warranty. I have to buy a new dishwasher, and I looked here for recommendations. I hope this helps someone avoid a KitchenAid mistake.

I bought KITCHENAID FRIDGE IN FEB 2013 and paid $2500. It broke in 2 months. Then in 2 months, then in 3 month. I LOST FOOD, TAKING TIME FROM WORK AND HAD YESTERDAY (OCTOBER 29TH SERVICE DONE) FOR 8TH TIMES OF SAME/SIMILAR ISSUES. I was forced to buy extended warranty and paid another $300 for it. I contacted the Whirlpool and they said there is nothing they can do or replace the item and it is not their problem. They said I need to contact the dealer or warranty place. I contacted them. They said they can not take it back because it has been used. What is wrong with this picture? How do I know if I am satisfied or unit works if I do not use it? There is no right for customer specially who has kids and needs the fridge to store food? Now I have to wait until they order important cooling parts again second time so I can use my fridge. Can some lawyer help me to get legal action against the company? I need help to raise voice to this. I also bought Kitchenaid dishwasher and after one time use it smelled and dishes did not dry. The company again said there is nothing they can do as it works just fine with smelly dishes. We all need to take an action to solve this. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP TO FIGHT THIS. Thank you all for reading.

I bought this a KitchenAid dishwasher model number KUDS30IXSS7 maybe 3 years ago and it hasnt worked for half of that time. In the first six months of owning it the circuit board went out then it stopped working again right after the warranty ran out. Had a service man come out to fix it. A wire burn in half in the panel that lasted a few months and again the board has gone out. My service guy said wed be better off buying another dishwasher without the touch controls because the boards are always going out in them due to bad design. Thought KitchenAid was a great brand maybe for mixers but not dishwashers.

I have mixed emotions on this as it has been a great dishwasher. Used probably every day for 7 or so years. No problems. Then my wife comes home from walking the dog... she had started the dishwasher 15 minutes before. Smoke was pouring from the top of the dishwasher.... but no lights or sound. Smoke dissipated but really smelled bad. I got home, took apart and the control panel was 1/2 charred. I check the internet and find that a lot of people have had this happen. Its a good thing it didnt start the house on fire. I figured I would just buy a new control panel and wire harness but the wife refuses to have the thing in the house anymore.

Architect Series II Model KDTE704DBL0 is a $1,799 piece of junk. We purchased this top of the Kitchenaid line dishwasher to replace a 16 year old Bosch dishwasher. It was installed on May 11, 2015. Just two years later, in May, 2017, the control panel which operates the entire machine failed. It was still under warranty (labor not covered). It took a week to get the part which was replaced on May 26, 2017 at the cost of $100 for labor. About two weeks later, on June 10, 2017 the replacement control panel failed. This time it took over two weeks to get the replacement part. It was installed at the end of June. The owner of the appliance store gave me a break and only charged $50 labor this time.On Thursday, September 7, 2017 the second replacement control panel failed. And I am once again without a dishwasher. I have not yet heard when the third replacement control panel might be delivered and installed. And even when the dishwasher is repaired... After this how can I have any confidence that it will work for long? It was a horrible decision to buy this dishwasher. The price was three to four times the cost of the average dishwasher. I thought we were purchasing a quality product that would last for many years. I am so disappointed by how unreliable this dishwasher has proven to be. I wish I had stuck with the Bosch. My sister bought a Bosch for $1,200 a few months before I needed to replace my 16 year old Bosch. Its working fine and she loves it.

This will be my last experience with Sears and KitchenAid.

On January 22, 2014, we were sold a used, returned, older model and/or LEMON KitchenAid Dishwasher without our knowledge by Pacific Sales Kitchen and Home in Oceanside, California. We are requesting that KitchenAid stand behind its products and repair or replace our nonworking dishwasher for no charge to the buyer. We purchased a floor model for $931.54 including $100 installation and were informed by Pacific Sales Kitchen and Home that this dishwasher was brand new and in perfect working condition. This dishwasher was installed in a two person household and has been used less than 50 times since the purchase date. The correct detergent and rinse aid have always been used and the filters have always been kept clean. This dishwasher has never cleaned the dishes properly and stopped working all together on September 9, 2014. We contacted Pacific Sales Kitchen and Home to request a service repair and they instructed us to contact KitchenAid directly. It was then we were informed by your company that the dishwasher we purchased was actually four years old and had gone through two previous owners. We contacted Pacific Sales Kitchen and Home and they said this was not true and that they would handle the service repair themselves at no charge to the buyer. We told them that we did not believe them and that we wanted a brand new replacement dishwasher immediately. They would not comply and only offered to make the necessary repairs. So, with great hesitation, we agreed and they replaced the broken main board, which allowed the dishwasher to function, but still not up to par. Then in November of 2015, the dishwasher stopped working altogether once again. The dishes actually run through the entire cycle now, but they are dirtier than when they went in. The water appears to be lukewarm only during the wash cycle and the rinse dispenser does not function properly. It has read full for over a year now without adding any additional rinse aid. Furthermore, the soap dispenser appears to not always open during the wash cycle as well.We spent $931.54 on a KitchenAid Dishwasher less than two years ago and as of today, we do NOT have a working dishwasher. Again, we are requesting that KitchenAid stand behind its products and repair or replace our nonworking dishwasher for no charge to the buyer or we will be forced to take further action at this point. Thank you.

I have recently and angrily blogged about my KitchenAid dishwasher as well as the other appliances. That wasnt the only issue with the dishwasher either. The springs on both the dishwasher and the microwave broke leaving the doors to open precariously. My husband was able to fix the dishwasher with a $5 piece of plastic, yes, thats right, plastic piece that fit on the pulley system that opens the door properly. Of course, that would have been a $100 operation had we had a repairman do it. Where is our Consumer Ombudsman?

Now refrigerator completely stopped working. Service just left after stating that the main control board is fried. Freezer is ridiculously small and v-shaped. Fridge parts started deteriorating a few years after purchase—after warranty had run. Deli drawer lid broke, door stripping ripped and continues to do so, mold grows in the stripping in the refrigerator, the doors don’t close well/easily, especially left door, water drips from doors, the water filter is difficult to change. When you remove your glass from the dispenser, the dispenser continues to eject ice, all over the hardwood floor. This has occurred since the refrigerator was purchased six months ago. I have a brand new Kitchen Aid Conversion Oven/Microwave combo. The way the microwave is designed, you open the door down, like an oven, toward you. Thus, my child opened the microwave, took out some warmed milk, and spilled it on the door as he was getting it out. Some of the milk seeped in between the glass of the door. Apparently, there is no way to clean it! It looks terrible!I called KitchenAid customer service and they told me this a cosmetic issue but a repairman could come and take the door apart for $129 to clean it! Clearly, this is a design flaw! Spills happen all the time with food preparation. The owner should be able to clean it themselves!!! There are no warnings about this in the instruction booklet. How is the consumer supposed to know they cant fully clean the appliance? Why isnt the glass sealed? I want the public to know about the design flaw in the appliance.

We have had KitchenAid dishwashers for 20 years. I got this dishwasher three years ago after six months, it wasn’t cleaning the dishes. The repairman came out and told me that I was using the wrong detergent. I switched to Cascade. The fact that you need to buy a special detergent to go with these dishwashers seemed pretty peculiar, but I did it. Since then I’ve had a repairman out three times because it leaks, wasn’t cleaning the dishes, water wasn’t emptying, and now all of the wheels have dissolved and fallen off the dishwasher on the bottom rack. They have melted onto the drying bar. I am grateful they didn’t start a fire. The repairman came out and told me that I was using the detergent Cascade and that dissolves the plastic on the dishwasher wheels.... WHAT???? I finally called kitchenaid and she told me that have never heard of this ever happening and that my warranty was out. I told them that not have if any wheels on my bottom rack was inexcusable and I demanded they send me wheels. Finally they said they would. That was 7 days ago. They said they would send them but if I couldn’t put them on I’d have to hire someone, they would not pay for that. I am very disappointed in kitchen aid, and will never, ever buy another.

The fridge started leaking at the top. I paid $115 from a repairman to be told this is a known defect for this fridge (air leak at the top). So KitchenAid should offer free repair for anyone who this affects. They are now made differently, so why should I be stuck with a lemon? I am so mad right now, repairing it is out of the question as I was quote $650. Also if this is a known defect, why didnt KitchenAid alert us? I could have saved $115 by not having a repairman out to our house. The solution for this is to turn the water off to our fridge and not having a water or ice maker, which is half the reason we bought the fridge. Stay away from this entire brand. We are also dealing with a Kitchenaid microwave that the whole door has fallen apart, literally, cracking and chipping away and I spent $225 for a new door that should arrive any day.

Bought a KitchenAid Dishwasher 15 months ago. Almost $900. Wife wanted it to match our KA fridge. I thought, for that kind of $$, the KA DW would clean better and last longer than my moms $300 Kenmore. But the KA has never cleaned well, even with top-line Cascade products. This week, it would start but not complete a cycle. Nothing in the manual about this. Called customer service. Took them 20 minutes to tell me they have no troubleshooting advice for this problem. I purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator in 2013, stainless steel model #KFIS29BBMSOO. Ive had numerous problems with it, many service calls. The first was the hose in the freezer splitting, which took 5 service calls to figure out, costing me for each one. Finally they said it was a recall item and I should not have had to pay. It was difficult to get my money back from the service people, took months. Now there is ice building up behind the drawers in the refrigerator, blocking the vent. There is about 2 of ice built up so the drawers do not close completely. Everything in the drawers freezes. When I called repair people suggested by Whirlpool. As soon as they heard the model number they refused to come. I called Whirlpool again, they said they have never heard of any problems like this, however, when I read all of the reviews listed here there are a lot of problems with these refrigerators. The repair guys said KitchenAid is one of the worst brands now, made so poorly, but so expensive. They finally found me a repairman, he is about 5 hours away, I told them he is not close, they said he probably knows someone closer to me, however the call is from 8:00-5:00, I have to wait. This has been so frustrating. I purchased 7 appliances at the same time, I did a remodel on my kitchen. My dishwasher failed after one year, the motor actually fell on the floor, it slow leaked onto my wood floors doing $40,000. damage, cabinets had to be pulled out walls repaired, took 5 months. KitchenAid would do nothing. The motor was not installed right at the factory, they tried to blame it on the installers. Im fed up with KitchenAid, would never recommend it to anyone. After 16 months of use, our microwave displayed error messages to open/close door and soon the microwave went black. We hadnt purchased an extended warranty because we expected a better product. Unlike Emmas microwave which had control panel on the bottom, ours is on the side. I feel KitchenAid cannot successfully design a venting microwave to install over a cooktop. I want to start by saying that the only KitchenAid appliance I have in my kitchen is a fridge. Model #KBLS19KTMS1 S/N K21016987. If you are in the market for a fridge, dont buy this one. I purchased it from a company called Trail Appliances. It made a loud noise from day one. They attempted to fix it, it started again, too loud to sleep. They came again and when they left it started again. I asked them to take it away. I did not want a KitchenAid. They would not do that. They did an in-apartment surgery on it that took two hours and replaced the generator. The noise stopped. It is still loud but not screeching loud. But now the bottom drawer freezer just turns off. It has ruined food a number of times. Ice cream...forget it. Ice cubes, meat..defrosts to the point where it either has to be thrown out or cooked immediately.I hate this appliance. I tell everyone I know not to buy KitchenAid. I have a Miele dishwasher, an LG gas convection stove and a Breville convection counter oven. They all work. KitchenAid sucks. It is a total disappointment and was from day one. Today it ruined another load in the freezer. I will be getting rid of this appliance because it continues to cost me money. It arrived with a dent in the front panel. KitchenAid refuses to replace the dishwasher even though it is within their 1-year warranty period. They want to send a new tub then have the repair technician disassemble this one and rebuild it from the old and new parts. And, because we didnt install it within 30 days of purchase (because our kitchen reno took longer than expected), their cosmetic warranty has expired and they wont replace the door without a charge to me. The dent in the door seems to indicate damage to the unit before I ever received it. The leak of this brand new dishwasher is in no way my fault yet they refuse to replace the unit. If I had known this was their policy, I would have NEVER purchased a KitchenAid. I have a Samsung refrigerator. The delivery people scratched the outside cabinet - Samsung replaced the entire refrigerator with a new one. It appears that when it comes to KitchenAid, buying American is not the prudent thing to do.

I purchased a suite of appliances after a home renovation and recently took delivery. The refrigerator (Model KRFC704FBS00) has not worked properly since it was installed on January 10, 2018. The water on the door does not work at all, the door for the filter does not snap closed. The water was leaking so badly at one point I had to shut the water line off. I am on the my second service company and they still cant get it right. And that is just the refrigerator!!! Two of knobs on the stove were bent. The vented microwave above the stove has a handle that gets so hot you risk third degree burns if God forbid you forget to cover your hand before you pull the door open! I rarely use the dishwasher so I cant comment on that. PLEASE stay away from KitchenAid especially the Bella series!! I have learned that KitchenAid stopped making this series because of so many problems but that does not stop stores selling this garbage. I am really upset with Whirlpool, the service companies , the salesman and the store on Route 35 in Middletown, NJ that sold me this mess!

Upon baking a heavenly apple pie for desert, (we live in the Okanagan Valley of BC) the well stuffed pie spilled over during baking. After the range cooled off, we set the self clean oven on. The next day, we proceeded to wipe the residue with a damp cloth and we noticed that the oven base was badly pitted. We reported this damage to the manufacturer (1-800-807-6777) and it went on deaf ears. Our range is only four months old. Burnt sugar will pit all porcelain surfaces, we were told. That is not so!! We have never experienced damage to our porcelain ovens from other manufacturers. Our VIP SUPERIOR PROTECTION PLAN also will not cover this situation. We would not recommend Kitchen Aid Ranges. We would appreciate a settlement.

Kitchenaid dishwasher broken for 2nd time in 3 years. Weve had a repairman out once already at a cost of $200 to fix an electrical problem with the control panel. I watched him as he reconnected some word, and got the power to return. Worked for about another year and its broken again. Obviously, the front sensor panel is defective. Ive never seen such crap. My old Maytag which just wore out after 14 years, was replaced with the KitchenAid which consumer reports was the most reliable. I have to have another expensive repair technician, who from the looks of things, is equally incompetent. I learned this from a previous repair on my refrigerator. Until they sent out a guy with 20+ years of experience, it wasnt fixed right.

Model KFIS29PBMS French Door Bottom Mount bought July 2013. Have had repeated problems for 3 years. Serviceman comes almost on monthly call. Nearly ALL parts have been replaced. KitchenAid refuses to own up to a bad product although I have found numerous reports online of perpetual problems with this model. KitchenAid (Whirlpool) says its warranty for one year only -- thats about all this product is good for. Serviceman replaced parts 3 times in last 2 months. He was here yesterday and I will be calling for his return again ASAP. Refrigerator ices up, leaks, fails to keep food cool, etc. etc. etc.

I am writing on behalf of my elderly mother. She purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears in July 2013 Model KUDL15SXWH5. After two years it leaked water all over the carpet and floor. The problem was the motor and clamp fell right out of the dishwasher. Sears said warranty is over. The repairs will be $300-$500. This is unsatisfactory. She should get a new machine or the repairs no charge from Sears and they should go after KitchenAid. Apparently there are a lot of unhappy customers and no way to contact KitchenAid!

I had an extended warranty and they basically kept on sending a service contractor to address the issue who kept on finding new issues as to why my refrigerator was not working. KitchenAid refused to take any responsibility in regards to the quality of the product or the extended warranty that they sold to me in the first place, and refused to help solve the problem. The extended warranty company refused to stop the payment to the contractor until they had a confirmation from me that the refrigerator was actually working and six weeks in I still do not have a refrigerator.

Thank God we opted for an extended appliance warranty because after every holiday with lots of use, we need to have the hinges replaced on one or both oven doors. Our KitchenAid stainless steel 5 burner built-in cooktop with Downdraft Vent has also needed replacement four times in the last 10 years and has been repaired five times in between the replacements due to the burners failure to light, or the burning of the bottom of our pots and pans due to burner malfunctions needing the burners to be removed and replaced.

In the Spring of 2006, I purchased 4 new KitchenAid appliances for my new gourmet kitchen. Within a month, the control panel of the slide-in oven had to be replaced. The oven stopped working a month ago. The dishwasher has been performing worse and worse every week for a year.I am tired of rewashing by hand all my gritty dishes and glasses. We rinse dishes before we put them into the machine and they come out dirtier than when they went in! Today I will spend the day taking it apart in the hope of cleaning out the guts and getting it to work. Never had to do this to any other dishwasher before. The Magnatron in the microwave had to be replaced one year ago ($125) out of pocket. Two months ago a chip in the control panel had to be replaced ($150), I should have listened to my girlfriend who said throw it out and buy a different brand. My french-door Kitchen Aid fridge has half a dozen broken plastic parts. I have never seen anything so flimsy. I have no kids man-handling my appliances, they are just poorly made.Thirty years ago I got a top quality Kitchen Aid mixer, it still works like new. That is what led me to buy Kitchen Aid everything when I did my upgrade in 2006. I had forgotten that the mixer was really made by Hobart (a really good company) What happened to Kitchen Aid? When did they start making the worst quality appliances? Or was it always this way with them?

My 5-year old KitchenAid dishwasher (Model: KUDP02FRSS3) pops open during run cycle. I have had 6 or 7 service calls, and none of which have fixed the problem for a few weeks or months. When working, we have good results as far as cleaning is concerned, unlike some other KitchenAid owners. I cannot count the number of times we have used a chair propped up against the door to complete a cycle. The door striker and/or latch have been replaced 3 times, while the springs and nylon cord have been replaced once.During this repair, the tech bent the hinges inward and installed a single rubber bushing on one of the hinges to increase friction with the door in the closed position. He would have installed 2, but he only had one. The door did stay closed for 2 or 3 months. Eventually, the single bushing worked its way off. Probably because the original hinge was not designed for this bushing. During my third most recent service call, the tech installed a new plastic latch. The machine would close but it would not start.I checked the CB and was advised on the phone to do a hard reset (i.e., leaving the CB off for 30 seconds or so). This did not solve the problem. When the tech returned, he was stumped by this problem. Looking at the new latch, I figured out the problem - the latch requires a wider striker to activate the power switch. The tech then installed the correct striker for the new latch. The door closed and the dishwasher worked for 2 or 3 days.My wife was afraid to tell me it stopped working again. When she did, I set up another service call. The same tech came out with no parts on his truck. He tried to bend the striker so it would stay latched - no go, the door would not stay closed. He then removed the door sea and found that the door striker and latch open with almost no effort. He decided to order a new latch and striker assembly - a new door seal and new hinges. These should come next week and when I get them, I have to call for another service appointment, which I should get 1-2 weeks after my call.In the meantime, I am using a small metal L bracket and a C clamp so we can use the dishwasher. There is no doubt that this product is defective in design construction and materials. I have spoken to KitchenAid and they claim no problems with this machine. In the end, KitchenAid/Whirlpool will get what they deserve, fewer customers! Fortunately, I have had an extended warranty from Sears and just extended it for a year. The lemon law requires 4 repairs within the preceding 12 months, the fourth being within 60 days of the third repair. Should the next repair fail, I will use every resource available to get a new machine, obviously not a KitchenAid, including filing a claim in small claims court.

The refrigerator is still under the warranty period. We have had the assigned repair company come out three times. They have replaced the control module voltage inverter. The refrigerator is still not working and now the repair person has stated he is not sure and will start replacing more parts. KitchenAid has stated that they will NOT do anything but allow this technician to replace part by part. This is a $10K refrigerator and they have little regard to helping resolve the issue. The oven door locked and the digital display was dead. So, I called KitchenAids troubleshooting number--no help and no acknowledgement that this is a known issue! I had to wait five business days, pay $55 and stay home for four hours today waiting for the repair guy via our insurance to come. He replaced the dead thermostat and told me its a known issue and not to use the self cleaning. Now, after reading this list, I see that more problems may still follow! The interior bottom of the stove is now completely damaged from previous owners. I purchased my second KitchenAid in 2005 since we were renovating our kitchen and wanted the counter depth model. I already had a KitchenAid that I was happy with, though it was only 2 years old. Within 18 months, the ice maker stopped working in the new one. We didnt replace it right away and we just used the ice from our other one, which was now in our basement as a second refrigerator. We finally had a new ice maker installed in July 2009 at a cost of $200, parts plus labor. Again, 18 months later (with a 1 year warranty), the ice maker stopped working. We went 2 more years without fixing it but finally did on February 27, 2013 at a cost of $242 when we needed it for a large family gathering. It broke again last week, June 20, 2014. 1 year and not even 4 months from the install date. It was suggested by the repair company that there may be a recall and I should call KitchenAid myself. After speaking to a customer service rep and then her supervisor, I was told they only warranty it for a year. Period. I explained that there was obviously a defect in my refrigerator, but that didnt seem to matter. They would have a service person come out for the usual fee. Meanwhile, my 11 year old other KitchenAid has started freezing food - but guess what? At least the ice maker works!! So unless you want to buy two of them to work as they should, I would buy another brand.

The problems started right after the 1-yr warranty expired. So first the top rack came off, the roller plastic part broke. Although the racks are supposed to be a 2-yr warranty item, only the rack itself, not the mounting parts are and therefore the roller part was not covered. Next, the Control Cycle lights for the 1-hour Energy saver wash cycle stayed on, dim when not chosen and bright if chosen. I called Customer Support and was not given any help except an offer to hire a technician starting at $180 to see what is wrong. I went online to see what was available, tried a few recommendations but nothing helped turn the light completely. Next came the detergent door latch not working. I ordered the part for $110 and it came with no installation instructions. I called customer service and nothing was available to help us install the replacement part. I managed to replace it and that works now, but now again, at only 1 yr and 7 months, the dishwasher now has additional lights that will not shut off completely and none of the wash cycles work. So I am without a dishwasher and just horrified to call them again. I wish we never got our KitchenAid Dishwasher.

The issue I am currently having is trying to get a new control panel for our built in refrigerator. The day after Christmas the refrigerator went out. The following Monday I called a local appliance repair business so we could get the refrigerator fixed. They showed up the following day and informed us it was the main control panel that was out and this part was not available. They suggested we either were going to have to have the control panel rebuilt or if that did not work the only solution was to buy another refrigerator. I found that hard to believe so I called KitchenAid and eventually got to the Built-In Department. I was told the part was getting ready to be available and would be ready for distribution on 1-7-16. Was also told until now this part had not been available due to the manufacturer being destroyed in a storm and it had taken them several years to redesign a part that actually worked. I also found that hard to believe. However, I now thought all issues were taken care of and excepted the wait. Well, yesterday I decided to call checking on things only to find the part did not go out as stated and there was still (0) showing in their availability. The parts distribution company that our repair shop orders their product from had not even placed an order because there was still 0 showing available. After several phone calls and talking to several different people my frustrations only grew. It appears that even though the folks in the built in department could see the inventory was available nobody was able to order the part because the part is still not showing up as available in their system. Finally, the part was made available for me to order, shipping at my expense, to be shipped to my repair Co. I also then found out that I would then be responsible for shipping the core back and that I would have NO warranty on a $350.00 part. If the part was ordered through my repair Co I have a warranty and no shipping expense. They were not even willing to ship next day or 2nd day mail. For a part this expensive and with as many issues it appears there have been with it, I decided I needed the warranty so Im back at the mercy of KitchenAid and the wholesale part supplier to get the part to my repair Co. I found the policies at KitchenAid and the procedure they go through to be very non-flexible and not consumer friendly. In addition, we put all KitchenAid products with the exception of our gas stove in our house. We have already replaced the built in Ice maker and the microwave. This will be the last KitchenAid/whirlpool appliance we ever purchase.

I purchased a stainless steel french door Kitchenaid refrigerator. This has been the worst purchase of my life. This refrigerator is on the blink constantly. It gets caked up with ice behind the meat drawer constantly. It also does not stay cold enough and the food molds before we can eat it. This is the worst piece of crap I have ever purchased and I am constantly paying someone to look at it. As of yet no repairman has been able to tell me why ice gets caked up inside of it.

My 7 months fridge is broken since end of January, high temperature in fridge and freezer area. Service man come on Feb3, run diagnostic test and left. He said it may need some parts. Called him next day that is not working. I was told no parts in stock, 3 weeks later serviceman show up with no parts and starts to look for leaks, found couple, fridge still is not working. Your warranty doesnt tell you when they will replace fridge. I was told 21 days then whenever serviceman will say it is beyond repair. This brand name doesnt stand for quality or consumer satisfaction. Still waiting for parts and no guarantee when it will be fixed or replaced.

As one lady from Mount Pleasant, SC reported, we are experiencing the very same issues. Weve owned our 30 inch slide in gas range for 3 years and when you brush up against it you wont even know until later on when you smell gas that one of the knobs was turned ever so slightly emitting the gas fumes. I contacted KitchenAid Customer Experience and reported this matter and to see if they have come up with a fix or recall. There hasnt been any. With all the news of gas explosions happening to houses across the country, this is definitely a safety issue. Im hoping Consumers Union and/or the Consumer Product Safety Commission can do something before someone else experiences a horrifying event.

This top of the line KitchenAid refrigerator has not worked properly since Day 1. One problem after another. Whirlpool Corporation is a disgusting company to deal with. Told they will repair, but never allow a return. Every time we had a service technician come out, they would say something different from the previous technician. Whirlpool said they needed to pull the whole ceiling out, including wiring, to stick in a small foam pad to correct a problem issue with this model rather than replace this Lemon. They knew all the problems this French door model had but refused to fix them properly. Both refrigerator and freezer made me lose expensive medication and groceries more than once. They would not reimburse.

Purchased a higher end Kitchen Aid dishwasher model KUDE60FVSS3 in 2010. End of 2016 dishwasher was having issues with it not draining at the end of the cycle. Had a local repairman out twice. He replaced the drain pump and repositioned the drain line - didnt fix the issue. Contacted Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer service and set up an appointment with a factory authorized technician. Factory certified tech couldnt figure out what was wrong (test was not producing an error code). He suggested replacing the main board and drain valve sensor - ($400+). He couldnt guarantee that this would fix the problem since he couldnt get an error code. I understand that appliances break down, and I was prepared to have this one repaired, but when the fix is a trial and error throw money at it approach, this deems a product as disposable, since its cheaper to buy something new.Although the dishwasher is 6 years old, I estimate that it has run less than 1500 cycles (running it every 3-4 days over the 6 years). Also, in the 6 years Ive had to replace the cutlery baskets twice - cheap plastic garbage. I sent a complaint letter to Whirlpool executives and their response, although quick, was one basically one of Were not prepared to do much. KitchenAid use to have the reputation for quality and reliability. Now they have cheapened the design to where the higher end models are no different than a cheaper $300 disposable machine. There was nothing wrong with the quality of money I paid for this dishwasher, but certainly Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid quality and reliability leaves a lot to be desired. Will never buy another Whirlpool product, nor will I recommend.

So the electronic panel on the front went out yesterday and the unit totally shut down. Repairman came out and guess what... THEY DONT MAKE THE PART ANYMORE! REALLY. How can you not continue to make a major part for an appliance that you made and sold only 6 years ago. So now it is totally useless. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID APPLIANCES! I hope this company goes the way of Sears.

$1000 dishwasher that is 2 years, 3 months old left upper rack rail rusted at the spot welds and broke off. Customer service would not honor replacement part. Upper rack was under warranty (5 years) but not the rail. New rail is ~$60. This dishwasher replaced a working cheaper model (noisy) that was 15 years old. Can’t believe the poor construction.Customer service is the worst. On hold for ~1 hour then Was told it would be a $139 service charge just for the guy to come here to evaluate the failure, I said no and just wanted the part so I could install they then transferred to the Parts dept. on hold for a half hour only to be told they don’t do warranty orders. Then transferred back to escalate issue for another hour just to be disconnected. Never buy Whirlpool or KitchenAid again.

Purchased two KitchenAid (owned by Whirlpool) under-counter refrigerator/freezer drawer units for a remodel. Both had issues from day one. I called Whirlpool, and they scheduled their choice of tech to come look at the units. After the third tech visit the unit started leaking. After the 5th service call (they came out 7 times before it was fixed) for the leak I had to go out of town and while I was gone my buildings maintenance team entered my condo and found that the unit had been leaking again and ruined the wood flooring. I filed claim with Whirlpool. They promptly denied any wrong doing and blamed Panasonic for a faulty part. Because I did not keep the faulty part, how was I to know to keep the faulty part?? Panasonic is denying the claim saying, How can we prove it was their part that caused the damage! How about all the notes from the multiple tech visits to try and fix the POS I bought!? Also, how is it that Whirpool can push blame to Panasonic and not have to take ownership of the problem??? Its been over a year that I filed with them. Whirlpool wont answer or return any calls. Total BS. I will not buy any of their products again and I will let everyone I know about this issue!

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (Model KDFE304DWH0) on 09/02/2014 from Lowes in Simpsonville, SC. We purchased a 3 year warranty. On 10/05/2016 the dishwasher stopped drying the dishes. We called Lowes. On 10/07/2016 a service tech from WFCC AUTHORIZED SERVICE INC. (ASI) came out and said the (owl??) water sensor needed replacing, and they would order the part(s) and call to schedule replacement. On 10/12 I called ASI and was told they would call me when the part was in. On 10/21 I called Lowes and they could not find out if the part had even been ordered & would get back to me in 7-10 business days. We have now been without the use of the dishwasher for 3 weeks and no repair has been scheduled. Based on my experience, I would not recommend anyone buying a KitchenAid appliance from Lowes.

Just had the service man leave the house after determining that my 5-year-old built-in KitchenAid fridge was not working because of a malfunction in a now obsolete computer board. Only option is to wait weeks for a refurbished board which may or may not work and for how long, no one knows. Not very much choice as this fridge had custom panels made to match the kitchen cabinetry and the panels will not fit any other fridge. After reading the reviews on this site I see that this is a very common problem. I have always purchased KitchenAid - thought they were reliable and reasonably priced - no more. Clearly KitchenAid is a brand name which stands for nothing in the way of reliability and durability.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in June 2011, model number KUDE70fvss2, and I have had nothing but problems with it. I bought it because KitchenAid is notoriously quiet and I live in a smaller home and I did not want to hear noise all over my house. Nothing has fallen off or apart, but this dishwasher has never and I do mean not one time cleaned my dishes properly. All dishes and glasses are left with stuck on food. Lipstick never comes off of cups, glasses or silverware. All glassware is cloudy with all kinds of drinking matter still inside. I have to wash everything by hand when the cycle is over... I have had the repair and warranty people out too many times to mention. Water that runs through is scalding. I use recommended products and have even made my own hoping something would help. Alas, this seems like nearly $2k down the drain. Anyone else with this problem? Im a senior and should have written Kitchen Aid a long time ago, but now that I plan to buy another dishwasher, I think I will deal with them. Has anyone else out there gotten their money back?

Although it was fairly expensive, this is the best microwave we have owned to date. It is mounted in the wall (along with the regular oven) and is extremely quiet. The door opens down like a regular oven door. It is all stainless steel inside so is very easy to clean. You can cook with it as a regular convection microwave or if you want to cook pizzas or something like that, it has an upper heating element and the oven will heat to 450 degrees.

Kitchenaid kdrp767rss01 range/oven - Have had the third (expensive) problem with my KitchenAid combo gas range and electric oven within a year. There are three expensive control boards in the appliance (each $200+). As of today, all three have failed and been replaced over the last 12 months. KitchenAid doesnt seem to know that heat is the arch enemy of electronics and that when you put electronics in a high temperature appliance, you need to take special care to protect them. My next stove will be a wood-burner with no electronics. Maybe not, but it wont be a KitchenAid.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2014 and purchased a KFIS29PBMS03. It immediately started frosting up in the freezer on the left side and ice and water would form below the ice maker and drip into main fridge. After three service visits the dealer replaced the unit. Again the same process happened again with multiple services and updates. Our dealer, Fergurson had another unit shipped out and installed that supposedly had been updated and fixed of these two issues. The third unit is actually worse with the frosting up and the drips and icing is about the same under the ice machine as the two others. Whats disturbing is the last service guy did order a new freezer door and gaskets but stated all these units do this and yours is not bad enough to fix as of now, but they do have another update to the top of fridge. I have ask just to refund my money and come get this jewel of design. The many days of scheduling services and deliveries and exchanges has become extremely time consuming and expensive.

Ive had more issues with this dishwasher due to its design flaws than any other appliance Ive owned.Design Fault #1: Attach for wheels for the upper rack are weak and regularly break with normal use. Ive had this happen 3 times so far and no amount of gentle use or babying will keep these from breaking over time. The design flaw is the thinness of the plastic used to hold these on. If you dont want to replace these, you can sacrifice some ease of mobility and use a wire twisty tie to reattach the wheel to the rack. It makes it harder to pull in or out, but at least its attached.Design Fault #2: Upon my wife complaining that it wasnt cleaning well, I found that the chopper had broken off from the shaft. No idea why, Ive seen others say that it is a design flaw and that over time it hits the housing enough to break the plastic. I cant say why it broke as I saw nothing in the housing that would have caused it to break off.Customer Service Issue: My wife called them and they told her only the rack itself is covered by the warranty and not the attached components. I called them and asked them if a hypothetical customer were to buy the dishwasher and it came without the upper dish rack, whether they would simply send the rack bare without any of the supporting components. She sheepishly told me they would and I told her that was ridiculous and I needed to talk to a supervisor. Upon returning after a hold she told me shed send me the parts under a one-time goodwill gesture from the company. So I had them send me 3x of the wheels and 1x of the chopper for the parts that had broken to-date. Ill hold these in reserve for when these items break again. Its simply ridiculous that they dont either fix the design flaw or cover the part as part of the warranty. I think they have to be aware of the design flaw otherwise they wouldnt explicitly refuse to cover it when you call.

It’s a $250 part, ok. Frig is 10 years old, I’m ok with that. WELL THEY DONT MAKE PART any longer and there is no work around! KitchenAid customer service’s best response was to send me to a discount supplier of new refrigerators. I’m beyond frustrated. Like many others, we bought the KitchenAid based on recommendations from HD and other appliance stores. We spent a bit more to get the high temp wash and power scrub features; basic wash by most products simply does not cut it. After about 2 years the pump started making a racket like a hammer tapping very fast on a metal plate. And...no warranty for the pump. The pump!!! Jeesh. Our first dishwasher from GE lasted 20+ years without touching it. Our second, from JennAir, lasted 6 and that is after I replaced the pump, the door seal, the main filter system and the top rack. The KitchenAid we bought...seems about 2 years. KitchenAid is no better than the worst manufacturers out there. What a joke.

In about a month the ice and water quit. Now not cooling and makes a noise similar to a leaf blower or lawn mower. Going on my 4th month. Service has been awful. Awaiting my 3rd time for Diamond Appliance to arrive and not be able to fix. There was a delay because Diamond had my name, address & phone wrong. I am not Carol in Virginia. I’m Linda from Kansas. Geez. BUT the latest is that I have to defrost the refrigerator on Sunday prior to my Tuesday appointment. Now its not cooling. Food is ruined. I had a bout of food poisoning this week that I think may have been the eggs. Now moving all the food to the garage. Some to the trash and some to the garage fridge. I have been told the warranty doesn’t cover food loss. I know Tuesday will not be the day it gets fixed because Diamond gets paid EVERY time they come to my house. What is the incentive to fix? He will tell me another part needs to be ordered and set another appointment for the following Tuesday .. But if he does, he will have to help me push this to the curb for pickup. I cannot help to think that mine is the only bad apple. It’s a good looking fridge but I wouldn’t get it if you intend to use it.

I purchased a KitchenAid stainless steel dishwasher on 5/9/2009, model number KUDX03FTSS. As of now, the stainless steel is rusting. How can this be? All of my other stainless steel appliances are over 10 years old and they are not rusting. The bottom line is KitchenAid is using a sub quality of stainless steel in all of their appliances. I called KitchenAid and they said there is not a warranty for finish on their appliances. How convenient is it for KitchenAid to reduce their cost of materials by using substandard stainless, then say there is no warranty on the finish? That is nothing but a ripoff by KitchenAid. I will never purchase a KitchenAid appliance ever again. I hope who ever reads this seriously considers another brand.
