We originally bought all KitchenAid products because they were suppose to be superior compared to other brands at the time. We also took into consideration that the warranty was suppose to be better than the rest. We recently had issues with ice building up under bottom of freezer causing water to leak onto our floor. We contacted KitchenAid and they wouldnt send someone out unless we paid $100 for them to look at it. They sent a guy out and fixed a plastic piece which was the problem (but of course wasnt under warranty either). So now we are left with a wrecked cork floor and a bill for $170. Wont be buying another KitchenAid product again. Thanks KitchenAid.

We purchased what we considered to be a top of the line Kitchenaid wall oven 3 years ago. On Thanksgiving morning this year the oven display said meat probe thermometer error. I was not using the meat probe, and have never used the meat probe thermometer. I cannot get the message to clear and cannot use my oven. My oven purchased ONLY THREE years ago!!! Will never buy another Kitchenaid anything! We thought we did our research – this oven received good marks from Consumer Reports. In addition while reading the manual that came with the oven shortly after purchase, it warned against using the self-cleaning feature. What?? Kitchenaid includes a feature and Im sure we paid extra for it – that can cause the glass in oven to shatter. And then warns you in their own manual against using it! Do NOT Buy a Kitchenaid wall oven.

Five years ago, we fully remodeled our kitchen with all KitchenAid appliances including ice maker, side-by-side refrigerator, cooktop and wall oven/microwave, all supposed to be the top of the line. We have had nothing but problems with everything except the icemaker. Junk! We have just replaced both refrigerators with Samsung and we are looking for a new oven and cooktop, both of which died this past weekend. Junk! My sister and a close friend have the exact story. KitchenAid is junk!

We bought our KUDS301XWH6 dishwasher in the spring of 2012, and we have had nothing but trouble. Two wheels on the top rack have broken off, and the control panel only works when it wants to. Even flipping the switch on the circuit breaker doesnt work most of the time. Like others, we bought this *more expensive* machine because we wanted to buy an American-made product, and because we grew up with KitchenAid dishwashers that lasted, problem-free, for decades. KitchenAid is coasting on the reputation earned many years ago, but their reputation will change as more people learn of their current line of shoddy, overpriced products. We will never buy a KitchenAid product again.

Stay away from buying a KitchenAid refrigerator. We purchased a $3,500 fridge in 2013 and we are on our 3rd one. Every 2 years or less the compressor goes. We wait over a week to get it replaced and the food all has to be thrown out. Pathetic appliance. In fact, I put it in the garage and purchased another fridge that we can rely on. Too bad as my son and 2 nephews all purchased homes this year and we made sure they did not buy KitchenAid!

I build new houses and new high end rentals. We have in the past used KitchenAid Refrigerators and dishwashers and stoves. I have 20 year old KitchenAid appliance in my own house. I purchased a new refrigerator 2 years ago for a new house I was building. It lasted less than 5 months before total failure. KitchenAid eventually replaced it after I spent 8 hours on the phone. This week a 15 month old KitchenAid dishwasher stopped working. The failure rate for Bosch appliances is about 1/2 the failure rate for KitchenAid. Customer Service for the new KitchenAid sucks at best. KitchenAid is now owned by Whirlpool and cannot care less about the old customers. If you want reliability and customer service buy Bosch or Miele. If KitchenAid cannot warranty their product for both part and labor for 2 years do not buy KitchenAid. The old KitchenAid company and its products and customer service is gone.

I got this new KitchenAid stove 1500 and was so happy with the way it looks, but... What a horrible product this company made! First, I had to exchange this stove, because of the computer problems it had (exchanged it two times). Unfortunately it was over 30 days so I could not return it. Second, it takes over 30 minutes to preheat the oven! Third, after a month of using it two light bulbs went off!! At the same time!!!Last, but not least their service team checked and stated that the temperature in the oven is right, but to roast or bake it takes twice as long! Not to mention that the glass top is made from some horrible material and it is very difficult to clean! And one area of glass is already chipped off!! I bought it in June 2016 four month ago! Dont buy Kitchenaid products!!!

Remodeled kitchen and purchased 4 kitchen aid appliances - thinking they were of great quality and would last. Had nothing but problems since purchased shortly after purchased. Had problem with microwave door problems with fridge - ice maker. Problem with oven when self-clean - shuts down and cant open door. Had fixed 2x -this is the 3rd time! Dishwasher fixed more than once - refused to get fixed again and pay over $300 - can buy a new one.I currently have an ice maker, dishwasher and oven that does not work. Raising 4 children, I am VERY dissatisfied with Orvilles where I purchased the appliances and ESPECIALLY KitchenAid - that doesnt back up the products they manufacture with defects. I will NEVER purchase anything KitchenAid EVER again or shop at Orvilles. I have paid so many service charges and part bills. I refuse to give them any more money!

I purchased a built-in refrigerator 7 years ago. Now my control board is not working according to the technician. I called KitchenAid directly and was told that there are very little choices. Tech said that the factory that made that part was damaged by the tsunami and destroyed the factory and blueprints. This is crazy and why they have no other viable backup plans or solutions to offer me.

Do NOT purchase Kitchenaid dishwasher model KDPE234GPS0. I purchased one on 21 APR 2018, model did not work, all it could do was fill with water and sit there for about 5 minutes and then drain. I removed the unit and exchanged it at a different store across town for the same model. I installed the new unit this morning of 24 APR 2018 and it appears to have the same problem. The unit will not agitate or spray water, whatever the term is. Ive recorded a video with my phone inside the dishwasher. All it does is fill, sit around for a bit, and then drain. I will more than likely be returning this for different model, if not a different brand entirely. I dont place any fault on Lowes for this failure, except for maybe selling this product to begin with. Theyve been more than helpful with my problems and I will continue doing business with Lowes.

Last summer, my KitchenAid Refrigerator (not a year old) stopped working. After two months of repairmen being sent by KitchenAid (A and E Services) and numerous ordering of wrong parts, the refrigerator was repaired (or so I thought). Now this week, the control board does not work. A repairman came, and after two hours, the refrigerator still is not fixed. The required parts are supposed to come and be installed next Saturday. I paid over $2,500.00 for my KitchenAid refrigerator/freezer, and I have been totally dissatisfied with this appliance. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again. The KitchenAid representatives seem to lack any concern for this problem.

KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDC101X with touch-sensitive control panel too sensitive! Dishwasher can be turned on and off by my dogs or just standing in front of it. Most frustrating, I hate it! Dishwasher gets turned on by mistake then does not drain so it stays wet and smells, gets turned off mid-wash cycle and the KitchenAid customer service reps says, Sorry, it is working as it should. I say, bad design, and Im a very unhappy customer. No more KitchenAid/Whirlpool for me!

Obviously, I am extremely dissatisfied with this refrigerator to take time to write a review. I dont even know where to start to list the problems weve had. Repairs have been time-consuming and costly. One repair to replace almost all of the working innards was 4 hours of labor. At least Whirpool covered the parts ($1500) and labor ($700) but only covered the labor after I called customer service and complained. Other problems include the metal strips on drawers discoloring and peeling after only 2 years, plastic vegetable drawers breaking and needing replacing at $100 each (out of pocket). The protective kick panel is broken and wont re-attach so bottom wires sticking out. The fridge and freezer doors are permanently misaligned and dont line up at top and one door protrudes at bottom. Technician says cant be fixed. Husband has tried to fix using instructions in booklet with no luck. Ice maker stopped working. Fridge occasionally leaks large amount of water into kitchen. Technician cant seem to fix problem. It is absolutely the worst appliance I have ever owned. Im 63. Its a total of piece of junk.

We purchased the KUDS30IXWH in November of 2014. The unit works perfectly to our great satisfaction. Extremely quiet and dishes/glass are sparkling clean. We have only used the Normal Cycle. Cannot vouch for the other ones. At delivery the unit looked great. No problems were visible. Suddenly three months later blemishes/spots/watermarks mysteriously appeared on the white front panel. We tried every possible way to remove them. When wet they disappear but all reappear as soon as the surface dries up. Very strange! We are trying to find out whether other people experienced the same problem before contacting the company.

Our Gas Range/Oven is a little over two years old. It has a self cleaning feature, that you would think I should be able to use. The first few times it worked fine, no issues. I used the self cleaning feature in November of 2017 and received an error message, but didnt really tell me the problem, after it was done the oven door locked and I could not get it to open, even after I tried to cancel and reset. I had to call a repair person, since KitchenAid wanted no part of it, since it was no longer under warranty, how convenient. $180.00 dollars later it was repaired, I needed a new part, since the technician said that with the self cleaning feature it tripped something in the electrical system, and he also added that it will probably happen again. So I have this self cleaning and I cant use it. Unbelievable.Anyway, I did use it again, and no issues, but last night I set to self clean for one hour and guess what, it happened again. My door is locked and the inside oven light is on, and I cant turn it off. I reached out again to KitchenAid, and they were very sorry and would refer this to their support team, but no recalls on my appliance are on file, therefore, they cant do anything for me. Unbelievable, now Im waiting for the repair person again to fix the issue again, and Im the one paying for it. NEVER EVER again will I buy a KitchenAid product. Obviously this is an issue with their product and not my fault, but they could care less.

Our microwave has failed more times than I can count: two circuit boards, the handle, the plastic grill, etc. The first failure was its turning itself on randomly. This unit is a fire hazard and the quality is absolutely the worst I have seen. I am a product design engineer and the plastic materials chosen are the cheapest and the design of the mechanical support features are like a rookie engineer did the work and knew nothing about plastics. The cosmetic cover and the air grill are now held on with black electrical tape. All of our KitchenAid appliances have had numerous failures. As near as I can tell, their product line is a total joke. Dont buy any of it ever.

Kitchen Aid Refrigerator MOD # KSF26C6XYY04 Low quality - I bought this refrigerator from Sears as a slightly physically damaged product. That didnt bother me. What bothers me is that the cheap plastic draws inside the refrigerator side have all cracked and broken. When I called customer service in a right to work for less state they said that they would replace them, but that if it happened again it was a one time thing. Why I asked? They said the fronts of the drawers are cosmetic? Are you kidding me? You cannot open the drawer without the front on it. Can you open a cabinet without a handle, a front door without a door knob? I am incredibly disappointed with this company. We had a Kitchen Aid refrigerator we bought in 2000 and it was great. This is a $2000 sub par product. Stay away from companies like Kitchen Aid that build low quality products and then dont back up their own warranties. I will not buy from this manufacturer again.

25 month old KERS505XSS Electric Double Oven Range - Apparently, the self-cleaning cycle of KitchenAid ranges should not be used! After reading about the problems people are having with the self-cleaning cycle on KitchenAid ranges, we had a different problem. After using the self-cleaning cycle, a three-inch long section of the lower front corner of the Interior Porcelain coating was missing creating a deep groove where grease would collect. After using the self-clean option on our Kitchen Aid range, the oven door locked, the oven could not be turned off or regulated, and an indicator light for the probe was on the display screen. Due to the inability to turn off the oven, weve had to unplug the unit, not use the oven, and light the stove top with a lighter. Ive read numerous complaints on the internet regarding this product and am applaud that KitchenAid has not recalled this item. Agreeing to replace a part through 2010 and not pay for the service call in unacceptable. We did not use the self-clean option until this year (2011) and had no reason to question the product prior. KitchenAid KDTM404KPS Bought this dishwasher for new Kitchen Reno. Very disappointed with it so far. While it appears to clean well, it is very noisy on the wash cycle, definitely not the 44 db they claim. The grids on the racks are far apart and if smaller items are placed they can fall right through. No grips on the racks that would normally hold these items in place. My biggest disappointment is the third rack. I would have preferred a full cutlery rack. This one does really not hold too much cutlery or cooking utensils. Also plastic items on the racks are not kept secure and I think fly around during the wash. I now wash these smaller items by hand! Have been trying to contact someone at Kitchenaid through CHAT on their website, and after a few minutes, before any one responds to me, I am disconnected. Would like to ask Kitchenaid if they have any grips I can install in the dishwasher to secure smaller, lighter items. I hope they get to read this review. I would have bought a BOSCH instead, like the previous one I had. Just loved the third rack on it and with a higher db of 50, it was a lot more quieter. It too held a 16 place setting, and more as the area where the cutlery basket sits could hold large serving dishes. I bought my items in a rush during Covid-19, and was anxious to get out of the dealership as soon as possible.

Like many other reviewers, we purchased high end KitchenAid appliances base on reputation. The steaming sensor was the only thing that ever impressed me. The fan never did much except make a lot of noise and the unit seemed underpowered compared to every other 1200 watt unit Ive owned. At just over 2 years old (and just after the warranty expired) we started getting error messages directing us to open/close the door. That resolved nothing. I unplugged it and fiddled with different buttons and controls, got it to limp along for a few months. Then the appliance went black. The local appliance technician says its a design flaw. The heat from the cooktop overheats the electronics that are in the door directly above burners. Most microwaves have controls in a side panel. $900 wasted.

We purchased KitchenAid fridge, Model # KFIS29PBMS00 from Lowes in May of 2015. We began having problems within 2 weeks of it being installed in our home. We had to have it serviced 7 times to finally get it repaired. It was finally repaired by the end of June. Subsequently, I had to keep throwing away food, taking off of work, etc. Now, 9 months later, it is working infrequently now. It started making a noise, like a lower sound like a leaf blower. Then, it started losing temperature. Main purpose of my writing a review... dont be fooled by KitchenAid supposedly being one of the top the line fridges/freezers at Lowes. At our old home, the fridge was there when we moved in and was still working perfectly when we left 10 1/2 years later. It was a GE.Result: I will never buy another Kitchen Aid or Whirlpool product. Although some of their products may be acceptable, the company has cost my family money through the loss of food and work and inconvenience for 9 months for a fridge that cost almost $2000! They should replace it because apparently it is a sub-standard product.

In September, 2019, the replacement failed and was again not repairable. I recently bought a condo which has KitchenAid appliances; a French-door refrigerator, a dishwasher, and an over-the-stove microwave. Although I am writing about the microwave as garbage, so is the refrigerator. The microwave is model YKHMS1850SS2. I knowingly bought the condo with this microwave, which is damaged, the door handle had broken off and the grill cover at the top has broken mounting tabs, thinking I could fix the damage at a reasonable cost which is not possible because Whirlpool, which owns KitchenAid, is replacement part price gouging. The parts are made of very cheap easily breakable plastic which probably cost Whirlpool very little to manufacture and look to be designed to break. If I could, I would take the door apart and replace the handle but the handle is not available as a separate part, only the whole door which costs half as much as a new KitchenAid microwave is available so I currently use a cheap suction auto body dent puller stuck to the glass door until I get a metal towel bar which I am going to cut down to the right size and mount it with the microwave handle screws that are currently protruding from the holes in the door cover which will last the lifetime of the microwaves electronics. The grill cover also costs quite a bit, the plastic mounting insert that fits in the stainless steel cover is not available separately so the two-part assembly also costs a lot of $$$ and is very wasteful because the stainless steel cover part, which is not damaged, will be redundant and dumped in the landfill. Instead of doing that, I am going to judiciously drill some holes in the plastic insert and use black tie-wraps to fasten it to the microwave. Kludged together but cheap and quick.Theres a big difference in the quality of appliances made in the 1970s and 1980s and now, the quality has very significantly declined and the price has significantly increased. In my house, I had a Maytag dishwasher, purchased in 1981, model WU300, which washed dishes very well and I kept it going by repairing it myself until about two months ago. It would still be running except the part needed is extremely hard to find. I replaced it with a Bosch dishwasher, probably made in the same US factory as Maytag/Whirlpool/KitchenAid. Ironically, just after it was installed and the old dishwasher was taken away I managed to find the repair part for it at an online used appliance parts supply for a very reasonable price. There really were the good old days for appliances.

This Kitchen Aid gas range was less than a month old when the first stuck and shorted key message popped up. The oven would spontaneously try to turn itself on at random times. I had to keep it unplugged when not in use. Then it got so I couldnt turn it on. After four repair sessions (thank God I had protection plan), they replaced it. My biggest mistake was getting the same oven!! How could I have been so stupid. Less than a month after getting it, the oven timer would try to go on and it would keep beeping. Then when I tried to start baking temp, it would only go to 6 degrees and I couldnt push any other buttons. The thing is a piece of crap. AND I have wasted countless days on the phone with SEARS and waiting for the repairman. No more Kitchen Aid for me. So frustrated....

Bought a Double Over, Dishwasher, and 42 Built In Refrigerator, all KitchenAid to match replacing 10+ year old GE Monogram appliances. Thought I did the research required to make the best educated purchase on the market, decided on these as our local dealer had the best deal on all three. After a week, the refrigerator began to frost over in the upper area of the freezer section, all other areas seemed to work as described with no issues. We contacted KitchenAid Warranty for help. They sent out a warranty repair service company and after three attempts with help from their KitchenAid Tech Support Center, they could not repair the problem! Our problems continues and during the final repair call the technician, stated that the Tech support people dont have a clue and that theyve never seen this problem before. We were told by KitchenAid Warranty Call Center that the warranty does not include replacement but is only good for repair service. We want the unit replaced, we didnt buy cheap. We bought what we thought was the best on the marker at the time based on what research we were able to do. The refrigerator cost $9K, overall we spent $12K for all three appliances and now realize this was a huge mistake. The local dealer, Pacific Sales has told us we would be getting a replacement unit soon, nothing yet but we have faith as they seemed to know how to handle bad products sold. We also asked to talk to a KitchenAid representative wanting to express our concerns to a human being. We were told by the Warranty KitchenAid call center that no one was available, that they were the only people we could talk to! This is the most frustrating event weve purchased as 10+ years ago we bought similar appliances from GE for a house we built in CO. We had no issues with what we purchased than compared to this experience. We now have a nightmare going on! If we did this current purchase all over again, we would have never bought KitchenAid, probably stick with GE or Sub Zero or for the money LG or Samsung! Why buy KitchenAid, they have no warranty with their built in products.

I bought this model (Kitchen Aid Oven KERS 205TSSO) a couple years ago. When they delivered it, draw on bottom was all dented in & scratched. They left it and said to call customer service. We called Lowes a few times. They told me to call Kitchen Aid. I called them half a dozen times. Few of them couldnt speak English. Kept telling her the problem. Big Joke. I checked to make sure they received my warranty. No answer. Now my stove wont come on and the oven wont come on. When I put the knobs on, no red light. We pulled it out and made sure it was clean. Knobs fell on and cant get on. Now we are stuck. Glad I didnt the cheap one as this one is a piece of junk. Dont know what to do. I figured the mixer is awesome. Not the appliances. My husband is disabled now and I am stuck with nothing to cook on. So disgusted. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid appliance again. They do nothing to help. I will make sure I tell everyone too. I am sorry I didnt hear about it before I bought this piece of junk.

KDRS483VSS - DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID RANGES!! They dont know how to repair them and their policy is not to replace them but to repair them. I am talking about an $8000 dual fuel range that I have waited years to purchase only to find out that once it was delivered the only thing working properly was the gas top. This is a very classy looking expensive piece of JUNK metal. The hinges on the large oven dont pull the door closed enough to turn off the oven light and you have to press the door in to turn light off. I now have no working ovens at all and this was through the Thanksgiving Holidays. No one cared!!! The oven shows several error codes and now just does nothing. I thought that KitchenAid was a reputable company but that is not the case. This is a known problem with these units. After many complaints still no results!!

Model KUDS301XBL - This dishwasher was purchased in May 2011 at a total cost of almost $1,000. Since having it installed, it has required service and the motor has been replaced twice - in 2012 and again in 2013. The wheels and rollers have repeatedly broken off. Now, after less than four years, it has failed again and the motor will need to be replaced for the third time. Each time services required, it is a minimum of one week - and typically 2 to 3 weeks - that our family of six is without the use of a dishwasher. In addition to its lack of reliability, this high-end dishwasher has never adequately done a good job of washing dishes. Even the service technician has said, I dont care what the salesperson told you, if you want your dishes to be clean, you will have to pre-wash them. Perhaps we just got a lemon, but the manufacturer has done nothing to correct our situation.

I purchased, unfortunately, the complete upper end Kitchenaid appliance for our kitchen 5 years ago from Home Depot and with the extended warranty with Asurion. Within 2 years the dishwasher had many problems that required several repairs: new computer board, new pump, new door, new seals, new wash arms and more. The self clean for the oven never works at all and never fixed. The microwave often refuse to work at all and must unplug and wait 15 or more minutes to work and never fixed. The worse... the $3500 French door refrigerator freezer has died 4 times. Needs new defective wire system that the fix damaged interior parts that were never covered or fixed. Next the freezer fans died. Next the ice maker stopped making ice...still waiting for that fix. And now the water will not flow as well. And each time we must shut it down and lose lots of food. Asurion coverage is slow and limited and uses distant repair companies that break things and never follow through for many weeks. Do not buy their coverage. Home Depot never back these awful appliance either. And Kitchenaid simply does not care and says sorry its is not their problem. Worse appliance I ever had in over 50 years. Avoid at all costs.

Two years ago we purchased all new kitchen appliances. We did all appliances with KitchenAid, french door refrigerator, dishwasher, countertop range and built-in oven and microwave. The appliances were all mid range models, not bottom of the line. In the two years, we have had a gas stove top burner that would not light, the refrigerator stop cooling and freezing and now the upper rack on the dishwasher is broken and falls out when it has the weight of dishes. The stove top was in excess of $100 (but covered by warranty) and the refrigerator was in excess of $1200 (just squeaked in under the 2 yr warranty), the dishwasher part is $45, not covered by warranty. I would NEVER recommend KitchenAid. This has been just way too many problems with these appliances in such a short period of time, makes us worried by the quality and long term functionality.

My dishes were coming out dirtier than when I put them into the machine. The machine was not using the soap, it just piled at the bottom. I tried powder soap, liquid soap, and pod soaps with no help. Finally my husband made it so he could watch the washing process. The spray was only going up about 4 inches - not hitting my dishes. No wonder I have problems. We are trying to put in a new motor at $100.00. I have only had this machine for 2 years and I already have to make costly repairs. Very disappointing!!

Our Failed Kitchen Aid Refrigerator KFIS29BBMS02 Ser#K35102755 - We purchased this refrigerator January 2013. The ice maker went out right away and was replaced on under warranty. Then in 2016 it fell apart. Another ice maker (Two) more actually, new control panel, new compressor. Service Dealer in Omaha tried to fix it 5 times with new parts and recharge the system. Last repair was 1-3-2017. Sent a letter to KitchenAid & Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha. NFM called back and said they could do nothing since we did not buy extended warranty. KitchenAid did not respond. It went hot again this week and no ice and lost frozen food for the 5th time. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! They told my service guy that they know they have a problem but my serial number does not apply. If I ran my company this way we would be broke with no customers. Buyers beware of KitchenAid.

If youre thinking of buying KitchenAid major appliances, read the letter I recently sent to KitchenAid below. I got a legalistic form response offering nothing, not even an apology. They even got my name wrong. Never again.I am writing about a series of problems I have had with several large KitchenAid appliances. I have never written a complaint letter before, but the coincidental problems with your products reminds me of the planned obsolescence complaints from 30 years ago about American made cars. I thought about just posting all of this on the internet, but thought I should give you a chance to respond first. Here is my story. On December 2, 2004, I bought three major KitchenAid appliances as a part of a high-end kitchen renovation. A built in refrigerator was the big ticket item, but I also bought a gas stove/electric range, and a silent dishwasher, all brushed silver. Together, the three items cost me $11,494.35.Everything worked fine until this past spring, but within six months, all three appliances have had major problems. The compressor on the refrigerator failed. You covered the parts, but I paid over $600 in labor. A hinge on the door of the dishwasher rusted out, and I replaced it for over $300. Currently, the washer motor on the dishwasher is screaming every time it runs. Ive been quoted a cost of about $500 to replace it. What about the stove? This past summer the small control board (near the dials) failed, and I had to replace that at a cost of over $400. Last week, the large control board misfired, turning the oven my 16-year old daughter was using to make cupcakes on to clean mode, locking the door, setting the cupcakes on fire, and sending plumes of smoke throughout the house. Luckily, I was home from work with an injury, and thought to flip the circuit breaker. The fire died after about an hour, and the door opened when I put the breaker back on. I just replaced the big control board at a cost of over $500.All told, Ive paid over $2,200 to repair very expensive appliances that are less than 10 years old, and I still have a screaming silent dishwasher. How do you explain this? Planned obsolescence? If so, you certainly have the timing down pat. So why am I writing? I am hoping you will do the right thing by me and in making appliances that last. What is the right thing to do for me? Cut me a check for $2,200? Fix my dishwasher for free? Give me all new appliances and install them? Send me a letter of apology? Im not sure. I will leave that to you. I do hope someone responds. It might be cathartic for me to post a bunch of nasty reviews on the internet, but I hope there is a more constructive alternative.

Bought a KitchenAid stainless steel dishwasher with top controls. First thing to go was the wheels on the bottom rack ridiculously pricey to replace. The next thing was the pullout Glides on the upper rack all the ball bearings fell out as the Glides had disintegrated. Over $200 for parts alone. Finally the pump seized which would have been a $400 repair. Basically in less than 5 years you would have been buying the dishwasher twice. Also when taking it out observed the discharge hose from the pump was just about to fall off which would have been a catastrophic failure sending water through the floor. KitchenAid USED to be top drawer appliances.I remember our first dishwasher when I was a kid 48 years ago. It was a KitchenAid when they used to say HOBART on them. Seeing that Hobart on them whats comforting as they made fantastic commercial equipment. It was a portable that you had to wheel up to the sink and hook up to the tap. It worked great! That was then... They definitely dont make good equipment now.

We purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (model KFIS29PBMS) with a 5 year extended warranty. We started having trouble with the unit after 1 year, in that the freezer compartment was making a lot of noise. About a year later, it started again. the problem was the freezer was not keeping ice cream hard. They diagnosed the problem to be the automatic defrost cycle not working properly. Ice would build up around the fan causing the loud noise. This time, the service technician replaced the control panel and another panel in the rear of the unit. The noise subsided, but two problems continue to exist. The unit periodically beeps (every five to ten minutes) and the refrigerator freezer compartment continues to not freeze ice cream.I called for extended service and was told they would NOT come out to fix the problem because it was already repaired. After an hour with their extended service rep, they agreed to find another service company but said I may have to pay for the repair. I have had KitchenAid products in all three of my homes in the past. The quality of their products has changed - unfortunately for the worse. When they refuse to stand by their extended service contract, then its time to find another company. After reading several reviews on this refrigerator, I found that I am not the only one who has had this problem. Do yourself a favor, when you look at a KitchenAid product in a store, just walk on by. Save yourself a lot of aggravation!!!

Ok, here we go! I am writing this review in the midst of having to repair an only 2-year old KitchenAid KRFF507ESS01 refrigerator. I wish I had seen these consumer report reviews prior to purchase!! Please take my review seriously so that I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake!! The major issues started about 3 months ago!! First, we noticed a noise (maybe fan) coming from back of fridge... louder at some times than others. I also didn’t realize at time that water leaking from ice dispenser when in use had preceded the noise! I just previously ‘chalked’ that issue up because it didn’t occur all the time! After about a couple of weeks of the noise getting louder and softer, it went away! The bigger issue a couple of weeks later became that the fridge was not cooling properly... Supposed to be 37* in fridge. And at this point the ice maker was not working well; making a handful of ice cubes that were not fully formed! My husband and I ran through the manuals extensive list of troubleshooting advice but could not find the issue! We cleaned the front vent from dust thinking this may be the cause... This seemed to resolved issue or so we thought!! 2 days later the fridge and ice maker were malfunctioning again with same issues except the noise!! I also purchased a thermometer for fridge and freezer to see what internal temps were... 50* in fridge and 30* in freezer! I purchased these because there is no other way that fridge indicates internal temps??? Only set temperature is accessible from LCD panel!I called a repairman who walked in and immediately knowing the (common) issue from a bottom freezer fridge, pulled out the deli drawer which revealed ice formed completely covering condenser cover. He proceeded to tell me these are the worst refrigerators (bottom freezer) and also that they are not built to last more than a year before needing repairs! He said he recommends anybody purchasing one to get the extended warranty because the manufacturer warranty is EXTREMELY limited beyond 1 year as stated in manual. He then ordered a fan, wire and harness and cover (I imagine because he may break existing cover removing it). Boom! $169. For service call. He wasn’t sure what parts will cost yet because his iPad was not working and had to place order on phone through his employer. He then gave me instruction to empty fridge and freezer and leave doors open to defrost ice for 2 days! Thanks KitchenAid once again!! I had to throw out over $500 worth of food from fridge and freezer!! He then said that it will get down to proper temps and that I could use again but that buildup of ice will start again but hopefully be resolved with replacement parts. Hopefully doesn’t sound promising!!Unfortunately, I didn’t purchase an extended warranty but that isn’t the point I’m trying to make! The fact of the matter is that KitchenAid builds a crappy fridge!! Unfortunately, I purchased matching dishwasher and wall oven/microwave combo at same time so now I’m just waiting for issues with these (As a side note, the handle on freezer drawer loosens all the time for which I have to tighten with allen wrench every few days!)!! Well that’s my story as I wait for replacement parts and looking forward to that bill! Sincerely FRUSTRATED KitchenAid customer!

We used the Aqualift feature for the first time this weekend on our Kitchenaid oven. The oven really wasnt that dirty, but we wanted to get the glass door cleaner. The Aqualift process did nothing to clean the oven door. No matter how many times we ran the process. We ended up using a half of box of Brillo pads to get the oven door glass clean. This is not what we expected for the price of the range we paid from a kitchen specialty appliance dealer. This experience was unbelievable. The inside of the oven wasnt that much cleaner either. But the 2 cups of water were still sitting on the bottom of the oven like the manual stated. Note: We did not use the Brillo pads on the oven cavity as we did not want to scratch the finish. We have used the pads on other glass items without scratching the glass; therefore did the oven glass door only. It took about 2 hours of manual labor to get the glass cleaned. This will be the last Kitchenaid product we purchase as a result.

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with KitchenAids failure to stand by their product. I purchased a $3000 stainless steel fridge last year and my fridge is still under warranty, but because the rust is cosmetic, KitchenAid feels no obligation to stand by their expensive stainless steel product and Ive been told that it is rust resistant, but not rust proof. They say all stainless steel can rust in certain environments. I have only used soap and water and never used a stainless steel cleaner or corrosive or abrasive product on the fridge and it is in my newly built and dry house. It is under a year old and I wonder what itll look like in another year. Kitchenaid offered me the opportunity to extend my warranty for hundreds of dollars, but offered no repair or replacement of the rusting door panel I called them about. What kind of stainless steel exists? Low-quality stainless steel with impurities. My stainless steel Bosch range hasnt started rusting and I clean it constantly with various cleaners. Clearly KitchenAids product is inferior and low quality.

I bought a KitchenAid dishwasher (Model: KUDS30IXBL) and within a couple of months, I noticed that the side air vent was damaging the wood cabinet and the drawer next to it. I called KitchenAid customer service and was told that there was nothing they could do about it because, according to them, the dishwasher was functioning properly. I called the store where I purchased it from and they sent out a couple of installers who looked at the damage and said,I knew this was going to happen when I saw the side air vent design. They took a couple of pictures of the damage and said that they would let their boss know. I have been waiting for two weeks and no word yet from them.

Side by Side KSC24C8EYY01 - We put in a new counter depth KitchenAid refrigerator 3 1/2 years ago. The freezer recently stopped working for no apparent reason, then kicked back on after 24-36 hours. This has happened 4 times in less than 3 weeks. By the time the service man gets here to check it out, the freezer is back to working, and he cant find a problem. The 2nd time he called Whirlpool and went through an entire diagnostic testing and still found nothing. He thought the Whirlpool technician that he spoke to was not too bright, and actually rather rude and indifferent. The only recommendation they had was to replace the mother board for a cost of $800 - with no guarantee that replacing it will solve the problem - it was just a guess. The service man told us that he wouldnt buy a KitchenAid appliance for anything - their service department was difficult to work with and trying to get parts needed for repair can be a nightmare. We will NOT be repairing this refrigerator and we will NOT EVER purchase another Whirlpool appliance - EVER.

We bought a 29 cu. ft. French Door stainless refrigerator model KFIV29PCMS
We bought a 29 cu. ft. French Door stainless refrigerator model KFIV29PCMS in 2013. We had repairmen out three years in a row. Each time required several visits. The air tower, ice maker evaporator fan, two fresh food evaporators, valves, a compressor, and a UIn were all replaced. We were out of a refrigerator for 18 days one time and over a week this last time. On one visit they sent a repairman out only to say that he couldnt fix it as it is a closed system. Every time its something different. We have had frost on the top left shelves with water leaking into them, water coming out of the ice dispenser, ice building up on the freezer drawers, water on the floor, and it just quit working. Although we had insurance, it only paid $300 for spoiled food. We have lost more than that. It is always so inconvenient to schedule time for them to come, then reschedule when the part finally comes in. I have complained to Good Deals where we bought it. I dont think they should sell appliances with so many problems. I complained to KitchenAid but all they did was take my complaint. Needless to say I have complained to the repair place,Gulf Appliance. My old Sears refrigerator lasted 26 years without even a service call, and it was a fifth of the cost. I cant believe a company cannot do a better job making an appliance. Did they even test them before putting them on the market? Apparently not. I will never buy another KA fridge again. Our microwave, stove, and oven are all ok but I wonder if they too will go out soon.

Design problems: Veggie & meat bins difficult to remove to wash as fridge door hinges don’t open far enough; ice bin jams, mechanism is frozen in place & won’t dispense, warm water must be poured in to release it, making a huge wet mess; front panels on both freezer pull-out baskets fall off dumping items on kitchen floor; very poor insulation - outside of fridge is always cold. Would not buy a KitchenAid again.

Purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator to replace my ten year old Kenmore. Model is KRFF300ESS. After a few months...noticed spots of rust on the stainless steel. Called KitchenAid...and they replaced the doors. After ten days of having the new doors installed, I can see rust forming on the steel again! I never even touched them with any sort of cleaner at all! Their customer service experience has been the worst. They keep promising theyll resolve the issue but never follow through. At this point theyre blaming me. Very disappointed in the construction of the product and their customer service. We remodeled our kitchen in July of 2006. We installed all new KitchenAid appliances. The slide-in gas range/oven (model # KGSA906PSS01) is a terrible product. I had 2 service calls on the oven in the first few years. Once the 5 year warranty had expired the motherboard had to be replaced, followed by the gas valve, the sparker module and the gas range circuits. Buying a new oven now seems like a smarter move. The customer service was unsympathetic and didnt even try to stand by their product.

I have had my refrigerator for about 4 years (MOD: KSSC42QVS02). I have had a multitude of problems with the unit ranging from a broken ice maker, frost causing a leak from the freezer, but most frustrating is a repeated problem that the refrigerator will not cool appropriately. I have had 5 service visits from an authorized repair person and now am told I have to buy a part because there is a known issue with the one that shipped with the unit. Since I had reported this problem within the first 12 months and it was never fixed, I assumed it would be covered. Instead I get into a circular conversation with customer service reps who are obviously trained to say no. At this point Ive spent close to an additional $1000.00 for a refrigerator that is 4 years old. This had led me to boycott any future KitchenAid or related company products.

An unusual problem occurred with my 1999 refrigerator. A screw broke inside one of the back wall brackets that hold the shelves. I called KitchenAid for an authorized factory dealer thinking their experience would know how to resolve the problem. KitchenAid informed me the cost to send someone would be $129 plus parts, and if the tech stated it could not be repaired, they would offer something towards the purchase of a new refrigerator. The tech was not able to get the broken screw out of the bracket. I called KitchenAid in his presence, and they refused to stand by their original statement. The tech called his employer, A&E Service Co. and was told to do the best he could. He claims he inserted another screw near the broken one and put tape across the top and bottom of the bracket to hold it. He said this is a temporary repair that might last 3 months and then I would have to buy a new refrigerator. A&E charged me $166.20. I complained stating that wasnt the quote I received, and the tech was not able to fix the problem. They said they will reimburse me $26. I feel because the refrigerator was not able to be repaired, I should be reimbursed the full amount (A&E Factory Service, 35 Melville Park Rd, Melville, NY 11747, tel.# 800-905-9605). The tech arrived on January 7. I spoke to KitchenAids repair department, customer service, and the sales department stating what I was initially told about partial compensation towards a new refrigerator. Each department refused based on the year of the appliance. This is a very unusual matter. The tech noticed only very light items are placed on the 2 shelves involved. He said he never saw anything like this in all his time as a repair person. He noted it wasnt weight that caused the bracket to separate from the back wall. Am I entitled to a full reimbursement from A&E since they could not fix the refrigerator and I will eventually have to buy a new one? Is KitchenAid responsible in any way?

Purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator Model #KBFS22EWMS7 in November, 2012 along with a 4 yr extended warranty with a price of $1800. The first week in October 2013, there was a big pool of water on the floor near the refrigerator. Pulled out the fridge thinking a hose had been punctured or a connection was loose. But no, that was not the case. All connections on the back of the fridge were dry. Husband checked more thoroughly and could not find where the leak was coming from. Called the customer service number on the refrigerator user instructions and they set up an appointment with a service person. The service person came out on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, checked all connections and pulled off panels and checked the back and could not find where the water was leaking. He confirmed there is a leak by seeing all the water on the floor, which looks like had been leaking for a while after seeing the edge of the wall with water damage and mold. But he could not find it and could not tell where it was coming from. So he gave my husband a homework assignment to somehow keep a watch underneath the fridge to determine exactly where the leak is coming from. How about that for customer service!!!! Now after seeing all the similar complaints and issues with KitchenAid, I am so afraid that we are in store for a nightmare of our own!!!! Our current plan is to put some type of rubber mat on the floor underneath the fridge and somehow jack up the fridge a little to be able to see underneath to watch for the leak. This is very frustrating and wish now that I had gone with Maytag!!!!

The oven shuts off in the middle of cooking, then will turn itself back on, anywhere from 30-60 minutes later. My husband and I moved into our just built, brand new home with brand new appliances, in November 2006. We have a Kitchen Aid Gas Range Architect II series (model KGRS807SBL00). The first Christmas meal, in December 2006 was just shy of a disaster. The fan in the oven kept making a horrible sound, and then the oven shut off in the middle of convection cooking the prime rib roast. Luckily, the neighbors let us use their stove to finish the roast. Our entire family and guests didnt eat, until almost 9PM that night. The oven, of course, turned itself back on within an hour or so. A service call the next day showed nothing was wrong with the oven, and the issue couldnt be replicated. Next year, no noise from the fan, but during the Thanksgiving dinner, the oven shut off again unexpectedly, in the middle of a regular baking cycle, and of course, with no warning, turned itself back on 30 minutes later. This year, same thing happened, and again, a $30-$40 service call to a licensed Kitchen Aid technician shows nothing. The diagnosis cant be made, because the issue cant be replicated. The oven is barely 5 years old, and of course, is outside of the warranties, and frankly doesnt get much use. Its just me and my husband cooking. Were often not even home, and Ive used the self-cleaning cycle twice in the 5 years weve had it. This oven doesnt take a beating in terms of use, and certainly seems to be a faulty product. The only similarity to the occurrences when the oven shuts off appears to be that several burners are going while the oven has been on for a while. Its like the system overloads, which sounds like a computer or electrical sensor issue. Ive spoken with several customer service agents, and and ultimately, my calls to Kitchen Aid are a waste of time. They continue to recommend more service calls, which cost money every time, with no resolution and a stove Im stuck with, which wont work consistently. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool oven again, and will tell everyone who will listen what a crappy product they produce, and how they wont stand by them.

This range (Frigidaire Gallery 30 electric range model# CGEF304DK) was included in our new home purchased last year. The range looks nice but the oven racks repeatedly fall down causing the food and pans to spill out! This problem I was told was due to my neglect. Are they kidding? Steel racks are not long enough to stay in contact with the oven sides! The racks are not distorted or bent they just fall down. This could cause serious flesh burns and or a catastrophic fire if unattended for any short time period. KitchenAid totally abandoned their responsibility in this matter. Also the convection fan failed to operate. This upscale range is not older than 3 years, its a disgrace. We put tin cans in to support the racks when using the oven. Pitifully sad. I was talked into purchasing a KitchenAid dishwasher by a sales associate. I went in to buy a Bosch (great product) but was talked into spending a little more because KitchAid is suppose to be the best. I am here to tell you it is NOT!! First, my heating element went out. It was a recall for that particular year so they sent me the parts free of charge but I had to pay someone to replace it! Then the wheels dry rotted on my top rack. That was another recall so once again, they sent me the part (top rack) free of charge, but it was up to me to install it. NOW...the wheels on my bottom rack dry rotted, not a recall (how odd bc the top rack did the exact same thing), this time they are not doing anything to remedy the faulty part!! This company is terrible! DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT buy KitchenAid Appliances! They are truly a waste of money and they do not stand behind their products!! Terribly Disappointed!

I looked and looked at gas ranges - I was very excited to be able to use gas again. I selected this Kitchen Aid stove and was not told that the central oval burner, which I paid extra to have, would not provide more than a low flame. You buy the whole 5th unit for just pancakes only! The self-cleaning oven will not clean the sides of the oven, only the pan over the burner. The little top oven is meant only for warming, not baking or cooking because it cooks so unevenly that toast, food and cookies are done on the glass side and burned on the back side. I have had KA service people out twice and they say that thats the way it is and that it registers 350 degrees when checked. I could have bought an oven for less than 1/2 and had a better oven. Its not the company that produced my 30-yr-old KA mixer, is it?

We were warming some food in our KitchenAid upper oven when it spontaneously started the self clean cycle. It locked, and we were unable to open it. We called 911 and the fire department was sent. We turned off the circuits to the oven. The oven proceeded to incinerate the meat and started a fire, with smoke coming out of the oven. The firemen arrived and broke open the oven lock, and took out the incinerated meat. When we turned the circuit back on, the lower oven signaled that it was too hot to use. When we called Kitchen Aid, they were unhelpful, repeatedly placed us on hold, sarcastically told us that they were glad that the house was not burned down and offered to pay for an inspection of the oven, but insisted that we would be responsible for all parts and repairs. I purchased a new Kitchenaid dishwasher from Lowes. It cost over $600 and had to be ordered. Two weeks later it was installed. It leaked all over our floor. We called Lowes and they sent the installer back out. He removed it and could find nothing wrong. He reinstalled the machine. It leaked again and he told us we would have to call Whirlpool factory warranty. I did and they sent a repair company. This company worked on the machine for over an hour and could not fix it. They told us to try it. We did and it leaked. I called them back and they came. They worked on the machine, again over an hour. He told us to try it again. We did and it leaked again. The repairman said he had Whirlpool training and he would present our issue to the instructor. The instructor told our repairman they would replace the machine. We have now been notified that they will not replace the machine and are sending a new tub to the repair shop to be replaced in the machine, even though they do not actually know what is wrong. I went to Lowes and spoke to the assistant manager and he said that we should have called them back and they would have replaced the machine, even though their installer told me to call the Whirlpool warranty people, not Lowes. And, Lowes told me that had I bought their extended warranty plan they would replace the machine. But why should I buy an extended warranty when the machine is brand new and has its own warranty. It has been five months now and we still have no dishwasher. Our floor is ruining from the leaked water and no one at Lowes or Whirlpool cares. Im just out $600+. My recommendation is: dont buy anything made by Whirlpool; no Kitchenaid, nothing. And buy nothing from Lowes unless you buy their added warranty.

I like my oven a lot....except the cooking surface scratches so easily! How am I ever going to clean around the burners when it seems the surface scratches when barely touched. Our microwave hood (KHMS2040) had turned out to be a terrible choice. The vent fan is horribly loud. Service came out to look at it about 3 weeks ago and determined we needed a new motor. (That wont come for another 3 weeks). This past weekend, the fan AND microwave suddenly turned on by itself. The microwave light came on and the turntable started turning. And it was louder than ever. We couldnt turn it off by pushing the cancel button or the fan button. Finally had to unplug it. Now we are afraid to leave it plugged in. Well, we pretty much gave up on the KitchenAid KUDS30CX dishwasher after the second control panel break and then it quit giving enough water to clean the dishes. The repair man came for the water flow. He put a coffee cup in the top rack of the dishwasher and let it run. Because it filled, he said that it was working. However, after he left, we noted the locations of the sprayers before we closed the door. After running for an hour or so, we opened up the door and the sprayers were in the same position. We did it several times with the same results. So, we decided it was a clogged line of a bad pump/motor.I opened up the area around the bottom sprayer to reveal any filters and also anything else. I saw no debris. I did get to see the food grinder. It’s pretty wimpy looking. We gave up when it was ruled as a problem with the pump/motor. Who knows how many times this is going to happen over its life? It’s just not worth it. I went and got another brand. It’s a Whirlpool. They also make KitchenAid, but I could tell it was different underneath and in the panel. Hopefully, this one will be better as they are known for reliability. I did not get the food grinder because I could not help think it was part of the problem. Could the grinder be putting extra load on the motor and allowing it to burn up?

My Kitchen Aid double oven which is still under warranty was not heating up properly and when it did heat many, many items came out burned. I checked the temperature with an oven thermometer and the temperature was way off when the beep sounded that the desired temperature had been reached. It took about 20 minutes longer to reach the correct temperature (35-40 minutes in all).It is loud both pre-heating, cooking and cooling. I sent my complaints to Kitchen Aid. A repairman came out and told me the beep really doesnt indicate the temperature had been reached. Must heat another 20 minutes at least and put bread in the oven and see which pieces come out burned to identify the hot spots. Dont want hot spots? Use the convection feature and bake at a lower temperature. It rattles and whirrs and makes a deep throbbing noise. Apparently this is all normal!Called Kitchen Aid, said nothing had changed. Talked with a rep, then her supervisor. She kept with the party line and repeated what the repairman had said but added, If you open the door, heat will escape. I hope she didnt say this with a straight face!! To top it off, this is only 1 authorized repairman in our area. Guess who?? NOT OKAY!!!!!
