Kitchen Aid 3-door fridges, that is double door on top of a freezer door are the WORST design ever. After few years the doors will not close the hinges will break and the compressor will fail. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GARBAGE AND CHEAP PRODUCT. Save your money and go with the competition.

Im a building contractor. Ive installed many different brands of appliances, from the very expensive to the low end disposable ones. About twenty years ago KitchenAid made a good, reliable, and well priced fridge. It was easily installed with well thought-out and user friendly adjustments for installation. For years I felt confident in recommending KitchenAid as a well-balanced alternative to higher end appliances or European appliances. In 2009 I purchased the full KitchenAid kitchen. Everything about my KitchenAid kitchen has been nothing less than disappointing, from the supplier, to the service, to the parts supplier. KitchenAid is now the disposable appliance at a rich price. I WILL spend the extra, and buy European and will verify it is NOT made in China/PRC!

After purchasing a high end dishwasher from KitchenAid, I am so disappointed in this machine. It has leaked water so long and ruined my kitchen floor to the extent it had to be replaced. The racks never stay up on the top shelf and had to be replaced three times. The dishwasher is just two years old and another leak, this time it was the motor/pump assembly to the tune of $210.00. I will never buy this brand again. I called customer service to complain and they wanted to give me a few hundred dollars discount on a new dishwasher, like I can afford another one. At any rate, it would never be this brand again when I do buy. So frustrated and so disappointed in this washer. You think you are paying more and getting a better machine, what a joke that is. Just not happy. Wish I would of read the above reviews before I had bought mine...

My architect series built in fridge was purchased in 2008 along with my other same series appliances. On January 11, 2014 it stopped working. After several service calls the circuit board has been returned for a second time to be rebuilt. It is February 22 and I still am waiting for a repair. The expected wait time going forward is 3 more weeks! This refrigerator cost $6000!!! KitchenAid has dropped the ball big time and all of my friends and myself will never be customers again. It takes time to build a reputation.... This company has lost all credibility.

I just came in the house after spending about an hour and a half mowing the lawn. To my surprise, the KitchenAid Microwave (Model KHMS155LSS-3 Oct 2005) was running by itself. I tried to turn it off using the buttons, but none of them worked. I ended up opening the door and unplugging the unit to get it to stop running. The inside of the microwave was absolutely smoking hot! Before unplugging it, the digital display was indicating PAN. I plugged the microwave back into the outlet, and PAN again appeared. Seconds later, the microwave started to run by itself again so I unplugged it again. I called Whirlpool (800/331-7456) and they said it was most likely a control board problem, and that they would be mailing a new one to my house. They also scheduled a service call which is a week and a half from today. Thank God I was at home or we might not have a home (and pets) to come back to. This unit should have been recalled! Do I really want this unit in my house even if it has been repaired?

Just 4 years ago we purchased this dishwasher (KUDC101XWH) to replace another KitchenAid that we had for almost 20 years with literally no problems. The new dishwasher has now stopped working for the 5th time. The first time was under warranty but the fuse was not covered - of course. Then it was the latches, and then it was the wiring which was fixed two months before. We have spent about what it cost to purchase it in the first place. KitchenAid has been no help. I was told by one of the service people never to buy this brand nor Whirlpool nor Maytag. I am attempting to get my last service payment refunded and will go out today to buy another dishwasher - not KitchenAid!

I just spent $165 for yet another service call to replace the latch on my KitchenAid range that was purchased in July 2006 from Builders Source in Albuquerque, NM. This makes a total of almost $500 spent on repairs to a range for which we paid $1,346. This was the third call and the second latch for the oven door. The technician noted that the door hinges, replaced in November 2011, need replacing also. The oven door would not shut; it is losing heat and it couldnt maintain temperature and could not extinguish the light. Then, it would not open. All of these are safety and performance issues. There is no response to emails and calls to KitchenAids customer service.” Builders Source offered a discount if I want to buy a new range, but I dont want to shop for major appliances every 5 years. I dont want KitchenAids unsafe, over-priced, and unreliable junk in my house either. In addition to the range, the handle fell off my KitchenAid microwave, the compressor failed on the refrigerator, and the latch, springs, and door failed on the dishwasher. There was a time when an appliance’s longevity and dependability relied on being well-made, and buyers weren’t saddled with purchasing extended warranties. Until retailers like Builders Source insist that manufacturers stand behind serviceable appliances, consumers will be deluded and disappointed with shoddy merchandise and choosing between which brands will provide the least trouble and expense. I expect that KitchenAid will continue manufacturing unsafe, overrated products and unresponsive, uncaring service until their once-respected reputation and the retailers that push these shoddy products disappear.

Bought this refrigerator 6/13/12 after home power surge destroyed our other KitchenAid refrigerator Model KSC23C8EYY. We were very happy with the first one so decided to buy another, counter depth side by side. We had no problem the first year but shortly after the warranty expired, had an issue with hose connecting to freezer. After they realized it was a faulty part on the hose, they covered it. We have a wood floor in our kitchen so that also needed to be repaired. Thankfully, I decided to purchase the 5 year Extended Service Plan. We have used it three times, so far. We discovered water accumulating in bottom portion of the refrigerator and called service plan. In April, 2017, had the drain unclogged in fresh food side. Today I pulled out bottom drawer to find the same thing happening. It also had a lot of black mold on side of drawers and refrigerator. (I took lots of pictures). I set up appointment to have repair service come out to fix clog and also to check on why mold is appearing (probably related). Extended Service plan seems very responsive so I would recommend purchasing it.

I have a KitchenAid double wall oven, convection on top. While running the self-clean on the top oven for the first time, the oven door glass shattered about 1.5 hours into the cycle. There is a near identical complaint on this website. KitchenAid will cover the part, but not the labor. I had shattered hot glass all over my kitchen floor because it slides out the bottom crack. It got into the bottom oven, shards come out every time I open either oven, even though I tried to vacuum in the cracks. Really KitchenAid?

We purchased this oven (KitchenAid Superba convection oven) some year ago. Approximately two years later, we began to experience problems controlling the temperature. We had the oven serviced by an authorized repair company. The problem ultimately revealed itself to be the control panel. The oven was repaired. Sometime later, the same issue appeared. The oven was serviced and repaired. Months later, same issue. After a lengthy fight with KitchenAid, we replaced the oven paying a pro-rated price. Some months later; the same issue, more repairs. Same problem: the control board. Despite having an extended warranty in place, KitchenAid did not honor the warranty. The problems lie with the control panel which obviously suffers from a design flaw. Whatever reputation they may have enjoyed, we would never buy anything made by them under this or any other label, nor would we recommend their products. However, we receive regular correspondence regarding purchasing an extended warranty on the very product whose warranty they won’t honor.

Purchased a new KitchenAid dishwasher in June 2015, model # KDTE254EBLO. Love the look and its ultra-quiet. However, the dishwasher smells after washes and continues to smell. Several inches of water sit inside the solid catch basin at the bottom. I sucked out the water and it just fills back up after the next wash. Got all kinds of excuses from customer support about quantity of dish soap and the need for after rise agent. None of it helps.

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with KitchenAids failure to stand by their product. I purchased a $3000 stainless steel fridge last year and my fridge is still under warranty, but because the rust is cosmetic, KitchenAid feels no obligation to stand by their expensive stainless steel product and Ive been told that it is rust resistant, but not rust proof. They say all stainless steel can rust in certain environments. I have only used soap and water and never used a stainless steel cleaner or corrosive or abrasive product on the fridge and it is in my newly built and dry house. It is under a year old and I wonder what itll look like in another year. Kitchenaid offered me the opportunity to extend my warranty for hundreds of dollars, but offered no repair or replacement of the rusting door panel I called them about. What kind of stainless steel exists? Low-quality stainless steel with impurities. My stainless steel Bosch range hasnt started rusting and I clean it constantly with various cleaners. Clearly KitchenAids product is inferior and low quality.

Ice dispenser never sealed properly. Ice bin would freeze solid and local repair wasnt satisfactory. Finally, after the electric panel on the freezer door shorted out, we were told we needed an entire new door for over $1700. These doors are apparently made when ordered, so it took over 8 weeks to get the first door. It arrived crushed and unusable. Then the morons at KitchenAid made a second door, which also arrived damaged and unusable. Now we are waiting for third door to be delivered. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID MAJOR APPLIANCE! We had GE refrigerators for decades and never had a problem. KitchenAid goes out of its way to make crap and offend customers!

KUDS30IXBL Superba Series Dishwasher - Having the same issues as the other
KUDS30IXBL Superba Series Dishwasher - Having the same issues as the other owners have described. The control board has died three times in 2 years. When I called customer service they said the control board was under a 5yr limited warranty and that they would send out a technician to fix the dishwasher. Keep in mind they select the repairman who comes to your house to do the work. What they do not mention is that you are responsible to pay for labor, the initial diagnostic visit AND the second visit to actually fix the broken device. The day of the scheduled visit, the technician calls to remind me that there is a $70 charge to just come look at the device. What angers me most is that even though this is a repeat issue, and that Kitchenaid/whirlpool chooses the repair company (who should fix the issue right the first time), the company will not take care of the labor fee. Their official line is we just take care of replacement parts and that I should take up labor issues with the technician. I feel like this process is put in place intentionally to take advantage of their customers and to absolve themselves of any accountability for their poorly manufactured product. This company is perfectly fine letting their customers total cost of ownership grow out of control. At this point, I could have purchased another dishwasher just from the cost of repairs. To summarize, this dishwasher is garbage and the company treats their customers like garbage. Another example of that is that I also own the front loading washing machine that has mildew issues (currently in a class action lawsuit). Their defense is that their customers should know how to properly use a washing machine. This is a great example of a company that does not stand behind their product nor do they care about their customers. Im sure there will be a class action with this line as well.

I purchased counter depth refrigerator in 2017. My daughter and were getting sick. Months later I noticed the fridge was not cold. The evaporator was not cooling. The repairman put another one in and that one broke as well. They sent me a new fridge. It was dented but I took it. AGAIN...noise coming from evaporator area in the back panel. It was repaired and the ice cube maker stopped working well. A couple of months later it completely stopped. When fields appliance repair came out the older man leaned on the drawer I am guessing. The ice cube maker is finally working but the drawer is bent out on the upper right hand corner. There is warm air and air leakage on the upper right corner. Icicles and frost on the top inside seal with frost on the tray. I can easily put my fingers under the seal. My freezer is not cooling properly with air leakage. I wont mention the dent that they put in the frame of the door either. I want someone to fix my freezer door.

We have had nothing but trouble with our new refrigerator (Counter depth refrigerator with French doors on top), which was delivered Aug 14th 2017. By Aug, it quit. We had to get everything out to save it, hauled it to our daughters extra refrigerator and freezer, and it took 3 1/2 wks to get it fixed. The computer board went out and of course, it had to be ordered. We didnt get our refrigerator back until sometime in Sept. Then, just before Christmas, it quit again. Finally got someone out between the holidays to take a look at it, and of course, it couldnt get fixed until the 3rd of Jan because a panel was out on the new computer board. There is a serious design problem with this refrigerator, and KitchenAid will not replace it or refund our money. Not a reputable company! Theyve cut corners on their products and are not the quality they used to be. Steer clear! We are in our 18th home and have had many refrigerators over the years. This is the worst. I also have a brand-new KitchenAid microwave that has been fixed and replaced because it had issues. Just wouldnt buy this brand.

This refrigerator is an expensive $9000 built in KBSN602ESS00. It is a replacement for another KitchenAid of the same size. I have had 4 service calls hoping for a tech that can stop the loud, disruptive shaking, rattling noises this unit makes. It is so loud it can easily be heard in the next room where I watch tv. I have spoken to Kitchenaid numerous more times hoping for a solution.Besides the loud ice maker filling with water, the obnoxiously disturbing loud noises from ice cubes dropping, the compressor humming loudly at two different speeds, this built-in makes a sound like metal being shaken and rattling. It can make this noise 6 times in 20 minutes. It does it in the middle of the night, during the morning, every time water is being added to the ice maker. Even if you push the ice maker arm into the off position, this refrigerator still makes the shaking, rattling noises. It wastes your time with tech appointments. Whats worse is Whirlpool apparently tells techs its a water line moving problem. Two techs have told me the noise is internal to the refrigerator. Each tech has called into Whirlpool for a solution, yet that expensive, disruptive unit is still sitting in my kitchen. It has also had temperature control issues. Thirty-four degrees is the coldest setting for this refrigerator. It does not always maintain this temperature on its shelves though. It also has the capacity to drop the freezer to -15 F. That wasted a good portion of my day. Waiting for techs, 4 times has wasted another 4-hour blocks I had to fit in to still be left with this disturbing refrigerator. The salesman quit working for the store I purchased it from about a month after the unit was installed. A second salesperson assured me she would contact Kitchenaid. I have heard nothing back.

I had no idea that the quality of the KitchenAid appliances had such a low standard. This is the third time that I am having problem with my dishwasher. Last year, I spent $120.00 on the door hinge and now problem with the dishwasher not working at all. I called KitchenAid and was informed I will either need to spend another $300 to fix the unit, or purchase a one-year warranty and pay $275.00. Unfortunately, I also have a KitchenAid refrigerator that so far I had to spend over $600 in the last 3 years for repairs.Do I need to keep on wasting $500.00 every 6 months with further service calls and parts? Why would KitchenAid make disposable appliances? They will need to disclose to consumer at the time of the purchase that appliances made by Whirlpool and KitchenAid are disposable, and every year we need to replace them with a brand new unit. KitchenAid is responsible for taking care of my dishwasher. I can no longer invest more money on the defected appliances made by Whirlpool and KitchenAid.

My wife and I bought a Kitchen made dishwasher model # KDS301XBL at Lowes store in Clermont, FL on August 23, 2011. It cost over $700.00. After about a year, we started to have problems with the control panel lights: going dim, not lighting up, etc., then the ceiling lights in our kitchen started to blink and the circuit breaker clicked off... We then called a repair service who replaced the control panel. Within 3 weeks, the panel started to leak water down the front of the new control panel unit. We called the service tech again and he said that the first tech should have replaced the vent and deflector because that is why the water was getting into the control panel causing it to short circuit. $130.00 spent on the first visit and $130.00 on the second visit all for a dishwasher that was not near 3 years old. This D/W has a control panel problem and should have been recalled. There is a class action Lawsuit in the USA and one in Canada also. Avoid this D/W at all costs ....

When I was a kid my mom loved KitchenAid but we bought a Bosch because the style we wanted. After it failed miserably I said we will purchase a KitchenAid. We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher in 2014. We Paid for installation also. With it we bought A warranty. After just over two years, the top rack of the dishwasher failed. The top rack will not slide out and weve found metal ball bearings in the dishwasher that we assume are from the side rails. So frustrating... This is standard use and it is crap. When I called to get it repaired I was told that this type of repair is not covered by the extended warranty and the estimate was 2/3rds. The cost of the dishwasher. I was talking to my mom and she told me Son they will take care of it... They didnt and I told her It is not the brand it used to be. The top rack finally completely broke and now we have a bottom rack only. We are so over it and so sad.

This is the second review I am writing about this oven. The first review I wrote was a couple weeks after it was installed and I gave it 5 stars. Its a beautiful oven. The stovetop/burners work great. The top oven is the one I use the most and at first it was fine, but after about a month, I noticed the blue interior is peeling off the base plate on the top oven and black splotches started appearing. I removed the base plate and tried to clean it but there wasnt anything on it. The blue was just disappearing in places. I took the oven plate back to the store I bought it at and they ordered a new one.The second plate started doing the same thing after only a couple of weeks. The blue coating is clearly not perfected and I really wonder if it is releasing chemicals or flaking off into the food. I cannot recommend this to anyone. KitchenAid - you need to do more testing before you release products into the market. I am a product developer - I know when something hasnt been tested appropriately. Im waiting for my third base plate to arrive but I am likely going back to the store to tell them to replace the oven. My preference would be to replace it with a different brand, but the over the oven microwave that a purchased at the same time is also KitchenAid brand (ut-oh).

As a retired chef I have preference for gas cooktop but electric oven. I built a new home with floorplan that did not offer separate cooktop and wall oven so I was very pleased when I found a Kitchenaid dual fuel product offering gas cooktop and electric oven combination. I had past experience with KitchenAid and thought I was purchasing a quality product.Although the cooktop and oven function well, the so-called AquaLift self-cleaning feature is useless! I do not let my oven become heavily soiled but found my first use of this feature did nothing to clean the oven. Even worse, instructions indicate even if I was willing to use an oven cleaning product and elbow grease I am warned this will damage the oven surface. It appears there are currently class action suits on this topic. Wish I had known this before purchasing this expensive product.

On 8/12, I came home and loaded dishwasher (purchased 2/12), attempted to run. My wife said she didnt think it was operating correctly, so she tried it again. After a short time, she noticed it was off. I then went to check it out myself. I turned it on and at that time, I thought I heard water. I quickly turned it off and opened the dishwasher. It was dry. I closed the door and started to remove the trim panel and water started coming out. I then went downstairs (finished basement) and my ceiling was flooded and falling apart, carpet soaked and furniture wet. I was upset at first but thought, well, its just the basement, it wont affect us too much while repairs are being done. I called the insurance company and they sent out Water Mitigation Crew right away. They started to clean up in the basement and drying the floor joist. They then tested the kitchen floor and found that the water had seeped under the backer-board and they had to tear up half of our (less than 6 months old) kitchen floor/tile to dry it out properly. It had also worked its way into the living room area and cupped up some of my hardwood floor. So upon calling KitchenAid, they said they would send a certified tech out. He came out to see what went wrong and found the pump had came off at one of the factory clamp (crimp style). The tech called tech support, they said put a hose clamp on it. The tech did not feel comfortable with doing that, to be honest with you, neither does my wife and I since there are multiple crimp style clamps on the unit. The tech did not do the repair and recommended replacement. KitchenAid said they need a second opinion and that either way, they would not replace the unit and they need to install a hose clamp on it. Keep in mind, this appointment is now over 2 weeks away and my insurance company is not authorizing any repairs to my home until the defective dishwasher is replaced or repaired. Im just outside of Atlanta city limits and the best they can do is 2 weeks for service? I didnt mention the day this happened was the first day we brought home our newborn (really doesnt matter) but it adds to the stress level, and half of our kitchen is torn apart. Im not even going to get into how poor the customer service was over the phone with KitchenAid other than the fact nobody in that company can make a decision and you speak to someone different every time and they pass you around and you have to re-explain the situation. We are not sure what to do. We may remove the dishwasher and buy a different one (not comfortable with existing) so we can move forward with getting our home fixed. With what we paid for the deductible and what our insurance has authorized for the basement and new kitchen floor, we are at almost $11,000. The Water Mitigation Company is coming back out to check out the hardwood floors again and may have to replace that. We were not expecting an unscheduled remodel of our kitchen and possibly our living room floor. One of my biggest problems Im having is, when I ask customer support if a repair is done, what kind of peace of mind do we get knowing this wont happen again via house damaged/flooded, the answer I keep getting is, as long as its within 30 days, we will come out for no charge and fix the dishwasher. It seems to me they couldnt care less our home is damaged. I would imagine now that I have a water damage claim with insurance, I will have to disclose this when we try to sell the home some day. My insurance could go up. We are so upset/angry/dissatisfied. Words cannot describe. I have asked more than once to speak to someone above a supervisor in the company and I was told that person doesnt talk to customers. I want my house fixed back to the way it was and I really dont feel I should be responsible for the deductible and I dont think its fair to my insurance company either. Im very frustrated and dont know what to do.

Unfortunately we have several KitchenAid appliances that came with our new house. They are all crap. In our previous house, we had a Samsung refrigerator (which cost a lot less than the KitchenAid) that was well made and worked perfectly. Even though we have a luxury KitchenAid model, the drawers dont fit, the ice maker freezes up regularly and the whole unit just feels cheap. Even our builder does not use KitchenAid anymore. In addition, because they are so poorly made, the company cannot afford to (or chooses not to) fix real issues when they occur. Avoid KitchenAid at all costs.

The KitchenAid is big and room inside the adjustable shelves make the difference. The deli drawer is large and the veggie drawer is really big. The French doors are great so that you can open either door. You dont have to open the same door all the time. The ice & water on the outside is also very handy also for the kids.

I have a 4-5 year-old KitchenAid Dishwasher. It leaked badly on the kitchen floor the day before Thanksgiving. I could see underneath that the drain pump and motor was lying on the floor. It had fallen off its mount and was barely hanging by its rubber hose connected to the drain sump. I pulled the machine out from under the counter and turned it on its side to investigate the problem. I found that the 2-inch hose that connects the pump to the dishwasher sump was cracked from holding the weight of the pump and motor. Call to the tech dept at KitchenAid to get a new hose. Tech could not find a part number to get the little hose. Said he would email the info in a few days. This rubber hose is about 2 inches long with a one-inch opening on one end and about 1.25 inch opening on the other. It attaches with two simple hose clamps. Several days later I received an email stating that the hose was not available for purchase, as it only comes on a motor/pump assembly which will cost me $264. All I need is a little rubber hose. This is a serious RIPOFF.

Bought a very nice KitchenAid refrigerator less than a year ago, was one of the better models (KFIS29PBMS00) and today it is repairable but according to the warranty service technician, it would be cheaper to replace it but that will take 5 BUSINESS days. WHAT? Surely that is a joke, this company makes good products and I thought would stand behind their warranty as in replacing something quickly. In 5 Business days when THEY make a decision, all my food will be spoiled ($600 down the drain). If they know they have an issue, and my issue is known, and they determine it is best to replace the appliance, why in HELL does it take 5 business days to make that decision? Obviously there is an issue with this model.Do yourself a favor, find a different brand, or expect any issues that are essentially recalls to take 5 business days to decide upon and who knows how much longer to actually get appliance in house. I have called them 3 times, and no remedy. Just the standard it takes 5 business days to go before a review board... WTF? That is BS. We should have bought the Sub Zero. KitchenAid has gone the way of any other use to be good product. The customer service rep thought it comical that I would get on the social media sites and provide this information. If you are in the habit of spending 3K for a throw away item and like to buy new major products every year, this is the one for you. For the rest of us, run and find something else and make sure the company will actually do as they claim on the warrant in a reasonable time frame. The issue is a known problem with the compressor that causes a leak of refrigerant over time. The company has determined it is cheaper for them to replace the product rather than fix it with proper materials. Yet, they take 5 business days to make this determination? If it is a known issue with all the same error codes and profiles of the same problem, the right thing to do is to apologize to the customer and ask them when they are available to receive the replacement. Now I am out $600+ on food.

I own an entire set of KitchenAid appliances. I am writing about our range, which I tried to self-clean for the first time on December 23. Dont you know that the oven shut down, and door is locked, and control panel is dead? I contacted KA to see what their remedy was. They are sending out a repairman, but will only cover parts, not labor. I was ticked off. I had a turkey to cook for Christmas and visitors are coming to stay for a week. It’s completely absurd to not have an oven to use. I asked the guy on the phone if there had been other issues reported on the same self-clean issue. He said no. Then he said that he didnt have access to personal records. Which is it? I am totally in for a class action suit as well. I’m waiting for a technician. It’s way to expensive of an appliance to have a repair 3 years later.

I had a KitchenAid dishwasher for 20 years and finally, I decided to replace it only because it was not dispensing the soap completely. I wish I had my old one back. The new model (KUDC10FXWH) I purchased in May 2011 and cost $940 including installation, warranty and tax is a big disappointment. So far, the repairman has been out 3 times. The last diagnosis was a control panel malfunction, which causes the dishwasher to shut itself off. It is almost useless to me because I have to run a cycle twice and/or a separate rinse to be sure the dishes are clean. Mostly, I have reverted to washing dishes by hand to save water and frustration. So far, I have not had to pay anything out of pocket due to the regular warranty. But thank goodness I got the extended warranty because I think I will need it. Buyer beware!

We bought this fridge in 2013, it looks good and has all the features that we need. We are senior citizens, so, prior to 2013, we had owned a number of fridges and never ever had a problem with any of them. This fridge is different, in 2019 the fridge stopped cooling because of the ice buildup. Repairman removed the ice, but he could not find was was wrong. Since then the fridge has not worked properly. In 2020 we placed another service call with Whirlpool (every service call cost a few $$ ).The tech suspected that there is a problem with a control panel, however he was not sure. He informed us that the repair would be quite expensive and it is not covered by warranty. The fridge is still not working properly - the cooling is on and off and we found an ice buildup under the freezer. By now we have had enough with costly repairs and persistent problems. It is time for a new fridge and we will make sure that it is not KitchenAid or Whirlpool. Stay away from these brands.

On June 27, 2018 my parents purchased side by side KitchenAid refrigerator model: KRSF505ESS. They made this purchase at Canadian Appliance Source. The product was delivered on Sep.20.18. The product has not performed well since opened, the freezer didn’t freeze and the ice maker didn’t work. To resolve the problem, we contacted WHIRLPOOL CANADA, at phone 1-800-807-6777 as they are taking care of the appliances after the purchase as a manufacture warranty. We scheduled an appointment for Sep.27.2018 and the technician appeared on the wrong address, even though he was provided with the address shown above and the postal code. We called to Whirlpool Customer service again and scheduled new appointment for Oct.1.2018 from 9am-1pm, Spoke to Brenda. We arranged the time and took time off from work, nobody appeared, no phone call made to notify us.When called Whirlpool on Oct.2.2018, they advise that the appointment from Oct 1st rescheduled for Oct. 2nd (without any notification to the customer) and the technical behind the schedule. The time of my call was 8pm Est. on Oct.2.2018. The tech didn’t come (spoke to Stephanie). I called Whirlpool on Oct.3.2018 stating that the technician wasn’t at the place and they offered to reschedule the appointment for Oct.10.2018 for 8am-12pm (Spoke to Tylor). At this time the technician Ram **, from “The Appliance Pros came. He did some maintenance and advised to wait for 24 hours to see if the fridge is working. The refrigerator didn’t work, and at this point both the fridge and the freezer weren’t operated.I was calling Whirlpool Canada on Oct.11.2018 and explaining that the fridge is not working. The representative after a long wait on hold explained that we are on emergency status but unfortunately she doesn’t have any records or documentations from the technician about the issue. I called Whirlpool Canada on Oct.12.2018 at 8:30am Est, and they said that the technician should come secondly to monitor the issue, and it is scheduled for Oct.16.2018, and again nobody notified us about this.I am very frustrated customer of being offered poor service, very long waiting times on hold, NO COMMUNICATION between the customer, the Customer Service and the maintenance team, and no resolution in timely manner. I would like to address it, since it is not the way Whirlpool should serve their customers. I would like to get faster response for the addressed issues, need to be notified about any changes that done by the customer support representative about any changes or updates about the service. Im not typically writing reviews but this situation should definitely be addressed. I hope my review will avoid people of dealing with CAS in particular and Whirlpool Canada in general.

Like so many others on this site I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator almost 5 years ago and it has begun to fail because of defects in the motherboard controller part number 225-9350. After repeated phone conversations with KitchenAid in Michigan I have reached the sad conclusion that KitchenAid has defrauded its consumers by providing consumer products with defective parts and failing to provide the replacement parts in a timely and effective manner. This of course may be due to the Japanese tsunami, however it has been a number of years since that disaster and KitchenAid is undertaken not to find manufacturing facilities to manufacture this rather simple part. Nonetheless this situation may very well be designed to compel the owners of defective merchandise to purchase yet another KitchenAid product. In this respect this is consumer fraud.

I purchased my KitchenAid French door fridge (Model # KFCS22EVWH2) new in Jan. of 2012. It is now September 2012 and I have a river flowing out of the bottom of my fridge. I have hardwood floors and the water is destroying them. I called Customer Service and a repairman came today. He explained that he reports this problem every day to KitchenAid. Apparently there is a small hole at the back of the freezer that allows condensation to drip into a pan under the freezer. When that hole becomes plugged, the water does not drain and creates an ice dam. When my kitchen heats up from weather or cooking, the ice melts and flows out of the freezer onto my floor. The only way to fix it is to unplug the fridge, let it defrost for 2 days and then plug it back in. Well, that does not fly with me. My husband and I are handicapped and we cannot go through this process every six months to save our floor. This is ridiculous. I called the company back and was told that this is new to them (right!) and they are sending another repair person in tomorrow. I dont know how this will turn out but I do know that I am not very happy right now. Can I trust the person tomorrow to tell me the truth? If he does get it to work, will the problem return after the warranty is up? Who fixes my floor? In all fairness to KitchenAid, I will post the results of tomorrows visit and a follow-up in a few months. I am in hopes that they will take care of this for me without a problem. I purchased a dishwasher and stove at the same time (also KitchenAid) so I hope that this is isolated and not an across-the-board disaster.

They told me the part could not be repaired. My repair man found a place that repairs these boards and the cost was $500. CoreCentric Solutions, Inc. out of Illinois. I wish I had seen this site before we purchased our KitchenAid Stainless Steel range, Model #YKESS907. One year after buying, we tried the self-cleaning function for the first time. It blew out the thermostat, shut down the front panel, and locked the oven. I had it replaced under warranty and didnt think to try it out again, until one year later. Turned it on and exactly the same thing happened. My retailer picked up the cost of the thermostat but I paid the $175 service call. Once up and running, I turned on the self-cleaning function with the service guy still there. I have had this Electric range KSEG950E for about 2 years and have had major problems with its self-cleaning technology. For starters, it simply doesnt work, even after repeated cycles. Cleaning out the water after the cycle is finished is tiresome. And the side and back panels never come clean. Its nearly impossible to scrub out these areas, as you can only use nonabrasive pads, and the oven is so deep, you cant reach in far enough to clean effectively. Even soil on the reachable areas is a challenge to clean, using only the recommended non-scratch scrubbing sponges and fresh kitchen appliance cleaner (the addition of which is recommended for hard to remove soil).Im not a heavy oven user and have tried to clean oven at the slightest sign of soil build-up. Once more, being 5 7, Id think that reaching around inside the oven to scrub should be easy. But after the lengthy clean-up sessions, I hardly need to go to the gym for exercise! Surfing the net, I see that Im not the only very dissatisfied customer! It may be good publicity to have low-energy cleaning technology. But if it doesnt work well, it cant earn high marks for the company.

We purchased this new model stainless dishwasher on 11/27/2010. Our 1990 Maytag had served us well, but didnt hold enough dishes, I thought. Everyone said the new dishwashers hold more dishes, but not KitchenAid KUDE60HXSSO! First, this holds less dishes and glasses than my old Maytag. Second, whoever designed the KitchenAid racks should be fired. Its like doing a puzzle to get your dishes to fit. Many dishes and glasses just dont fit - same for pots and pans. And third, silverware holders fall into silverware rack. Very cheaply designed!Dont ever buy a dishwasher with the extra rack for silverware. All dishwasher holes are the same size. Because we have this top (3rd) rack, nothing fits into our dishwasher. Its supposed to be removable, but its difficult to get in and out. Anyhow, its too big to store anywhere in our small kitchen. We have an adjustable top rack which we keep in the upper position. As a result, only saucers fit into the top rack. High glasses must be in the front or they hit the extra shelf. If we lower the top rack, our dinner plates are too tall to fit in the bottom rack. The KitchenAid racks are ridiculous. Many glasses dont fit at all, some just in the far right and far left. There is nowhere to put cocktail glasses with rims. They are too tall. We had a place for them in our old Maytag. The silverware holders fall inside the silverware holder, so that it is time-consuming to put silverware in or take it out. We wanted a replacement.Immediately, our door didnt open all the way, so that the bottom rack was tilted when opened. We complained right away to customer service and they werent interested in listening to any complaint or reporting it. They sent a serviceman who wasnt interested either. We persisted and he finally made the door open more, still not completely, but he says that is normal. The 2nd serviceman was nice, so we got him to call technical service (a customer is not allowed to speak to technical customer service!). Anyhow, they sent a new silverware rack; and of course, its just as bad a design as the first. Right away, the dishes and glasses did not get clean on pro-wash and pro-dry. I had film and lipstick on all my glasses and dirt remaining on my dishes. Immediately, I complained to customer service who were unfriendly, rude, sarcastic and insulting. They sent service who ran some stupid diagnostic that told them that the dishes were cleaning as they were supposed to. So no one cares about my dirty dishes and glasses. As long as their test is okay - customer be damned. We complained to customer service, and they said we needed service again. Our dishes were clean with the old Maytag. But for this dishwasher, we needed to buy Cascade Complete and still the dishes werent clean. I now use the single tablets and only Heavy duty, Proscrub, High Temp Scrub and sani-rinse. My dishes are cleaner. Pro-wash and Pro-dry do not clean them even though I scrape and even rinse most dishes and glasses.I hate this dishwasher because I cant fit my dishes into the racks. Ill never buy another KitchenAid appliance. The KitchenAid customer service is horrible. They could care less about any complaints. Ive complained to KitchenAid supervisors - time-consuming and unsatisfying. Now, I see that many others complain about KitchenAid. Now, we need a new refrigerator and I see all the complaints about KitchenAid. However, Whirlpool and Maytag are the same box and same company. So what do I do? Why cant they make appliances that work? Its disgraceful!

Three years ago I upgraded my entire kitchen with stainless KitchenAid appliances, after much research - with a hefty price tag. I liked that the products were made in the USA and that they were considered high-end appliances. I even replaced a Bosch dishwasher (it did not live up to its reputation). The oven cost $1500 and change at the time of purchase, and the model is now over $1900. Two and a half years later my oven started having problems - it turns off during cooking and will not come back on. I had repair people out several times but they could not fix it. Turns out it needs a whole new keyboard, which is over $800 just for the part. I tried to contact KitchenAid customer service - yes, this was out of the 1 year warranty but I felt that it should not be having such problems after only 2.5-3 years (the oven that I replaced was 15 years old and was in perfect working order - and was a much lower-end appliance).Anyway, I have tried in vain to get KitchenAid to help me but they will not. My dishwasher has also had several pieces fall off that have had to be replaced. You would think this company would help their customers but no, they ignored my letter. All I wanted was to purchase a new oven at a discount - which they would normally allow but they will not let me do so because I have a home warranty plan (which I had not used to help in any way other than to diagnose the issue). Shame on KitchenAid for such horrible customer service, and for selling overpriced appliances that do not last and definitely are NOT worth the high prices. We have a Kitchenaid Superba stove and oven model KGRT607HWH6. It was in our house when we moved in 2004. It has a glass backsplash. Three years ago the backsplash exploded with my 10 year old twin sons and a teenage friend and myself standing within three feet of it. We are lucky we were not hurt. I think the pots cooking on the stove may have been touching the backsplash and it just got too hot. But, what a stupid design for a stove top! The repairman did order a new backsplash for $100. For years I would find tiny pieces of glass stuck in corners and crevices in my kitchen. I guess I should be ashamed to admit it, but I have never used the self-cleaning feature and the oven is quite dirty. I started to look for instructions on-line, but, after reading all the complaints I am scared to try the self-cleaning feature. The instructions say to not use a commercial product. KitchenAid drop-in stove/oven bought in January of 2015. DONT YOU JUST HATE IT WHEN YOU BUY SOMETHING AS BIG AS A STOVE -- RELIABLE ONLY ON THE NAME? It is my fault for buying from SEATTLE HOME APPLIANCE THAT WAS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. I didnt know that but it was KitchenAid so was thinking they would stand behind their product. I paid for the person to come and I paid for a new element on a new drop-in stove/oven and it made no difference at all. IT SUCKS!!! I dont cook/bake at all. I cant afford to buy another one and Im almost 70 and just wanted to bake cookies. well you cant!!! They need to replace these terrible products and give me one that does work.

Moved into a new house in 2017. It is 2020 and the dishwasher is leaking from the motor. Repair person come in and told us he is not able to find the part. Called Kitchen Aid and they basically told me too bad the washer is broken. Man-made things break. Would never buy a Kitchen Aid product again. Lousy workmanship and customer service is of NO help.

We purchased a French door KitchenAid refrigerator six years ago. Two days after the warranty expired there was a leak. We contacted a repair company and he said KitchenAid’s aware of this problem and they aren’t doing anything to fix it. He did fix the leak. The next year the icemaker went. We had that replaced. Now there is a different leak from the water reservoir. The water reservoir and assembly is obsolete and there is no replacement. After doing some research I found a replacement part number, but that replacement part is also obsolete. We will end up turning off the water supply for the water dispenser and just start buying bottled water again. This is the second time we had a KitchenAid refrigerator. We had no problems with the first one which was at a different property. Was still going after 12 years when we sold the property. When we remodeled the kitchen in our current home we went with KitchenAid. Now we are so disappointed. We can’t justify buying a new refrigerator only because of the water reservoir leak.

We purchased a KitchenAid side-by-side in April 2004 for our new home. The fridge never was very cool and we ended up calling for service in Jan 2005. The service tech told us to clean the compressor and it should work. The fridge was barely cold, but the service tech told us the fridge was fine. In May of this year (2012), the fridge stopped cooling completely. We lost hundreds of dollars of food. It took a week for the service tech to come out. He told us to defrost the freezer as there was ice inside it. We turned the fridge off for 24 hours as per his instruction. That didnt fix the problem. I called the tech back and he told us it must need new parts. We thought he ordered the parts but 2 weeks later, I followed up with KA customer care and were told that the service tech had closed our file and had noted in the file that we had decided to purchase a new unit. We had decided no such thing. I asked for the parts to be ordered and were told they were on backorder. Another 2 weeks went by with no word from KA or the service tech. Meanwhile, its the heat of summer, I have young children and no refrigerator. I called KitchenAid back and were told that one part was still on backorder and they had no idea when the part would be available. They offered no solution to the fact that our family had no working fridge. I asked them for the name and part number and tracked the part myself and ordered it. It took another week for the service tech to come out. I had to take another vacation day and waited for over 4 hours for him. KitchenAid techs only work 9-5, Monday to Friday. The service tech replaced 2 parts and said the 3rd wasnt needed. That was on July 6th. On Friday, July 23rd, the fridge and freezer completely stopped working and was actually hot. I called the service tech twice with no response. Today, July 30th, I called KitchenAid customer care and asked for the tech to come out tomorrow (July 31st) early in the morning as I cannot afford to take another vacation day. I was told that their techs only work 9-5, they will not make any provisions to accommodate working families and the rude, arrogant customer care supervisor told me that I needed to make the necessary arrangements to be available when the service technician turns up.We have been without a working refrigeration since May 2012. Its now the end of July. Weve wasted hundreds of dollars in spoiled food and KitchenAid has no care or regards for our situation. Furthermore, no one at KitchenAid appears able to resolve our issues. For a company whose slogan is For the way its made, I feel like they are falsely advertising their products because they are poorly made. I will never ever buy a KitchenAid product again and will do my best to inform anyone who asks me of my dreadful experiences with KitchenAid Canada.

I bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher in Nov 2016. The one with the window on front door. Gave trouble within a week. Waited 2 weeks for a serviceman who said pump was faulty. Said it would be another 2 weeks before that arrived. In meantime I insisted on Best Buy (where I bought it) giving me a new one. What a saga. A month later the new one eventually arrived. Guess what? Within a week same problem. Repairman again. Pump faulty again. Another 2 weeks. Pump replaced. Within a week same problem. Contacted KitchenAid direct which is really Whirlpool. Awful customer service. Scheduled a replacement this week but failed to keep appointment. Got a few hours notice. Theyre giving me another new one. Have told them this is the last one. If this one is crap like the last 2, then they just take it away. Not getting another. No appreciation of fact that a family of five have been washing dishes by hand for several months while $1200 piece of crap sits in our kitchen.

Then after cleaning the oven, the glass shattered in the microwave. Heat must have risen and too hot. The oven still works, but the glass is still getting into the oven and on the floor. We purchased a KUDE40 dishwasher in January of 2011 complete with stainless steel interior. The top rack glides keep popping open, letting the rack fall off. To make matters worse, the plastic wheels fell off the top adjustable rack due to the breaking of the plastic pieces that hold the wheels in place. Of course, this happened right after the year warranty was up. Luckily, I saved the service call and ordered the part online for $25 each and replaced the parts myself. Based on what I have read on other places on the internet, this is a problem for everyone and KitchenAid will do nothing about it. I will not buy another KitchenAid dishwasher and plan to tell as many people as I can not to buy one either.KitchenAid needs to listen to the public and fix this issue free of charge. If it happens to you, order the part online and carefully disassemble about 4 parts to replace the plastic piece with the wheels. A small screw driver to pop off the plastic parts was all that was needed and we used the other side as a guide to what goes where were putting it back together. Total time: about 15 minutes to replace one side. The part is the same for the right and left sides. Save yourself the service call!

I would NOT recommend any KitchenAid appliances. The customer service with KitchenAid is not helpful at all and basically blamed me, the consumer for the problem. KitchenAid double wall ovens/ WALL OVEN- ELE BI 30 - My LOWER oven (the one not used except on holidays) went out on me on CHRISTMAS as Im cooking a prime rib (at 500 degrees). The ovens have only been installed for a year! Got an error message asking for probe temperature. Wasnt using the probe although I do have the ability to use it. Checked the manual and found I did everything right. I then ended up with an under cooked prime rib for 13 guests. Thanks for that! Then I tried to clean the damned thing since it hadnt cleaned well after Thanksgiving (I usually try to do this when we are in bed because the fumes are so awful). Guess I know why it didnt clean! This time after waiting till everyone left, I opened the windows (glad its a warm December) and the oven wouldnt clean. Got an ERROR message this time of E3F3. Heck if I know what it means. They were able to schedule a service appointment quickly but if they have to order parts, then I have to have another service appointment. All I know is, Ive got an oven that doesnt work during the holidays (Im cooking for NY Day too). I called the extended warranty number and sat on hold for 42 minutes. THIS AFTER HAVING SPENT NEARLY 2 MONTHS TRYING TO GET MY BUILT IN KITCHEN AID DISHWASHER FIXED THAT HAS ONLY BEEN IN USE FOR 6 MONTHS! It needed an entire new drum. Nice since it already damaged my NEW cabinets and NEW floor in my NEW kitchen. No offer to fix the damage they caused even though they finally fixed the dishwasher. KitchenAid used to be really good appliances. NOT ANY MORE. I will avoid them in the future!

After waiting for parts and then put on the service schedule, the repairman came but had the wrong part. Now, again waiting for the part and to be put on the service schedule. Without a refrigerator for three weeks. Also, the fan is encased in styrofoam held together by tape. No wonder there is a problem. Also the reviews for the repair company sent by KitchenAid were not favorable. I found this out firsthand.Updated on 03/10/2016: In August I had ice built up behind the drawers in the bottom of the refrigerator. KitchenAid replaced the fan and thermistor. Seven months later, same problem. KitchenAid denied any problems with these parts.

We purchased our dishwasher (as part of a full set as a matter of fact) 2 years ago. It’s quiet, but has stopped washing dishes. We only use the soap and dry aid recommended by the manufacturer, and the dishwasher itself is cleaner regularly. The soap dispenser opens, but unless the bottom rack is left half empty, Ten soap doesn’t come out of the dispenser, or comes out but doesn’t dissolve. This started about six months ago, as an occasional problem, but by now it happens more often than not. Based on this, as well as my experiences with the rest of my appliances, I would not recommend this brand.

I bought a new French door with bottom freezer refrigerator in July 2010. I had continued problems with the seals on the French doors and the doors not closing properly. Also, the ice maker is freezing over. After 4 warranty service calls, the problems were never fully resolved. Now, we have water which flows into the freezer compartment and freezes on the bottom. Once its full, the water flows onto our wood floors. This was a fairly new model for KitchenAid at the time of purchase and I would recommend do not purchase this style. The ice maker storage in the door is heavy and the doors do not seal properly, leading to a host of other issues.

Do NOT purchase Kitchenaid dishwasher model KDPE234GPS0. I purchased one on 21 APR 2018, model did not work, all it could do was fill with water and sit there for about 5 minutes and then drain. I removed the unit and exchanged it at a different store across town for the same model. I installed the new unit this morning of 24 APR 2018 and it appears to have the same problem. The unit will not agitate or spray water, whatever the term is. Ive recorded a video with my phone inside the dishwasher. All it does is fill, sit around for a bit, and then drain. I will more than likely be returning this for different model, if not a different brand entirely. Just purchased this dishwasher (KTA 44 dBA) mainly because it matched the refrigerator KRFF707ESS I wanted and am pleased with. However the top tier drawer of dishwasher is pretty much useless. I thought it was for stacking flatware but the prongs are so short, the flatware falls over. Wish I had bought a Miele which is more expensive but definitely superior. So now Im not using the upper tier for flatware. Alternative is this enormous basket which takes up so much space. No one would ever have need for that much basket space... takes up the whole depth of bottom drawer, which by the way, slide out on their own volition often. Dont stay closed unless you forcefully push it into place. Not thrilled with this dishwasher. It is quiet and it does clean. Thats it. Spend the money and get a Miele.

Very disappointed with Kitchen Aid refrigerator quality. This is 2nd one. First one was replaced by Kitchen Aid after many attempts at repair. The ice maker spewed out water into refrigerator trays, water dispenser not working properly, pathetic (not wholly formed) looking ice cubes, ice buildup around ice cube dispenser chute and under ice maker. This one has similar ice maker problems as first except water dispenser works and water doesnt spew from ice maker to same degree as first refrigerator. Now after 2 years the LED lights on the top and in the freezer compartment have gone out except for one dot in the middle of each light set. After replacing the freezer light without fixing the problem, authorized repairman thinks a new computer board at over $1,000 MAY fix the problem. Refrigerator costing over 3 grand needs 1 grand repair after less than 3 years of residential use. Spend your money elsewhere.

I purchased my KitchenAid dishwasher from hhgregg in January of 2011. I purchased model KUDS30IXSS. I also purchased a 5 year warranty for the dishwasher. The first time I called for service for the dishwasher was for the top rack in the dishwasher. The rack was broken and needed to be replaced. The rack was not covered and I had to pay nearly a $100 for the part. The next time I called for service the pump was broken on the dishwasher. This part was covered by the warranty on the dishwasher. The next time I called for service the grinder was broken on the dishwasher. The next time the dishwasher stopped working because a fuse blew on the dishwasher. The last time the dishwasher stopped working was in October of 2015. In October I was told that two pumps were not working, the circuit board was replaced, and the control board on the front of the dishwasher was replaced. Today 3/31/16, my husband informed me that there is water in the bottom of the dishwasher again and he cannot get it to turn on. None of the lights light up again and furthermore since the control board is melted he is afraid it is going to burn our house down. We just want it out of our house. I called hhgregg and they are of no help. I did not renew the warranty this time because they wanted $700 to renew the contract. I could purchase a new dishwasher for $700 and believe me, it would never, ever be another KITCHENAID product. I am so very, very disappointed with this product. The repairman told me when he was here in November that because the dishwasher is 5 years old they would only offer us half what we paid for the dishwasher. At this point I do not know if I want another dishwasher. It is only my husband and me. We eat out for dinner almost every night anyway. Why go through this aggravation? What has happened to pride in American workmanship? My husband owns his own business. If his job performance was like this, he would be out of business tomorrow! Shame on you KitchenAid! I trusted in a product I had purchased 25 years ago! My sister-in-law is having the same problems and sadly, I recommended she purchase KitchenAid! I will not be recommending that anyone buy this brand again. We are building a new home and we will be researching appliances before we buy...but it wont be KITCHENAID!

We purchased the KA model KFIS29BBMS02 in December 2013. We noticed it was rather noisy but we were told that refrigerators make some noise. We have already had technicians out 4 times. They have replaced the evaporator fan motor on July 25 for a flapping noise. That noise is still present. We have a high pitched whirring noise that happens a few times each day. We have found out the mostly constant humming noise is the compressor, as it is always running. We have been told at todays appointment that the compressor needs to be replaced since it is apparently leaking Freon and will hopefully keep working until the repairman can get the part - which is on back order because so many have needed to be replaced!!!! We have also had to replace the touch pad control panel as it popped out of the front of the fridge! After 9 months, we are still unsatisfied with the refrigerator and the KitchenAid brand. We purchased a new KitchenAid KSBS25TVBL01 Side by Side with ice maker in the door. The design is lousy! The flapper valve is supposed to close after ice is dispensed but it is so poorly designed that it closes weakly. As a result, warm air flows into the ice bin area and starts to melt the ice. It slowly leaks and leaks. Our refrigerator has a wooden panel on the front and water builds up behind the thing. I just took it off today and the wood had swollen so much that I had to gently pound it off. We will call tomorrow and ask for another repairman. Initially we bought this thing because supposedly it was one of the best warranty-wise, but this part of it is junk. We are afraid to use the ice maker so will just shut it off. Based on what I am reading, it looks like the only solution is to dumb the thing and buy another brand. We paid a bunch for this thing and I think have been hosed!

KitchenAid® Superba® Series EQ Built-In Dishwasher - KUDE40FXBL1 - Like m
KitchenAid® Superba® Series EQ Built-In Dishwasher - KUDE40FXBL1 - Like many others in this column, we spent a bit more money to buy a Kitchenaid dishwasher, thinking that the quality was better. The delivery date for our dishwasher was April 26, 2011. As many have noted, the wheel system on the upper racks continues to fail. The plastic tabs that hold the wheels onto the dishwasher rack adjuster breaks, allowing the wheels to come off and ultimately leading to the upper rack dropping down on top of the dishes in the lower rack. On April 7, 2012, a few weeks shy of one year, and just before the end of the full coverage warranty, we had the dishwasher rack adjuster replaced for the first time by Sears technicians (since the machine was purchased from Sears). In January 2013, two of the four wheels were falling off again and allowing the rack to unexpectedly drop from the upper rails. After much complaining to Kitchenaid, they agreed to send replacement parts (2 dishwasher rack adjusters, one for each side, part number W10350376). The new parts are exactly the same as the two sets of dishwasher rack adjusters that failed in the past. I had hoped that Kitchenaid would have made a design change to the parts by this point in time, but it appears as though they have not addressed the issue. I will be replacing the parts by myself, and if there is no change in design, it looks like this may be an annual task. If anyone knows of a solution, kindly advise.

Dont burn down your house, I survived 9/11 today. The under counter dishwasher (KUDPO1ILBS0) KitchenAid had a few seal problems 5 years ago. Last night, I heard a loud noise in the kitchen at 1:30AM (Sept. 11, 2012) while the whole family was sleeping. I got up and waited 1-2 minutes to compose myself and then noticed light rubber burning smell in my bedroom. I walked down the stair to the kitchen and felt stronger smell of electrical wire burning. I turned the light on and noticed that the dishwasher passing out steam after complete cycle and also white smoke from the front panel where buttons are situated. I tried to open the dishwasher while placing hand on the electronic panel as usual, when I heard sparks and more intense smoke. I ran to the basement and turned the switch from the main electrical panel and noticed smoke diminishing, but smelled very intense. When steam and smoke stopped and I felt safe, I took the dishes out which were clean and well dry as usual. The whole family was down by this time due to the commotion and ready to call 911 and exit to pre-plan spot. I noticed that it was only front panel smoke and now no sign of fire or smoke. I asked everyone to go back to bed and watched TV until 3:00AM on guard. I later went to bed and in the morning, the family decided to replace our 10-year old dishwasher.

After a month, a new panel arrived and then A&E Factory service called and set up appointment for repair. The panel was changed and again, a couple months, the same issue. I called the service department and to my surprise, they told me that they do not warranty cosmetic issues. I complained that this is a defect in design or their manufacturing process. They did not care. I sent a letter through my attorney to Jeff Fettig, President and CEO, Whirlpool Corporation. I had a call from their executive office and they promised the problem will be fixed for good. Next, we had a call from A&E Factory service for repair schedule. They changed the front panel, top tray and a burner. I thought this fixes it and were excited, but the serviceman hinted on similar problem many places which has been reoccurring. Anyway, the problem is back after four trips and now I called Whirlpool service and they are telling me that it is over a year and out of warranty. I am sure this product has a major defect and they need to do a recall or get a panel which the paint stays on. I will never buy anything from Whirlpool corporation for as long as I live.

This is a good looking, rather expensive refrigerator. It has a very well styled and functional interior; more room than I anticipated and much easier to store things neatly in freezer than my last side by side. The major disappointment is the drawers in the refrigerator part. They are so flimsy that they came apart and had to be taken out and put back together after using a short time. This was extremely disappointing since the rest of this appliance is sturdy, well thought out and beautifully styled. What were they thinking? I am very careful dealing with opening and closing filled drawers so they dont come apart again. I would certainly make checking out how well the drawers were made a priority when buying a new refrigerator. Something I would never have thought of before.

KitchenAid® 25 Cu. Ft. Standard-Depth French Door Refrigerator - After about 6 months, the fan went out for the refrigerator, $250 Part cost. After about a year, the baskets in the freezer compartment are rusting and bleeding through the plastic coating. After about a year and a half, the bar between the two doors is worn out and will not properly close. You have to open the right door and slam close the left door to make sure it properly closes. Thank god for the temperature alarm. Do not buy this product!!!

WE bought a complete kitchen set but after one year the 4 lights in the top of the refrigerator stopped working. The place where we bought it, Heber Appliance, could not fix the problem because of the way its designed. It wasnt the bulbs but the wiring. So they gave us a deal on a new one. Now the exact same problem is occurring. The 4 lights in the top of the fridge started flickering a week ago and now are out completely after one year. We will never buy KitchenAid again ever!
