This refrigerator fit perfectly into our built-in space, and is great looking and has all the latest features. The interior space of our side by side style fridge however, is a little cramped. Weve had excellent service and support on this brand.

We used the Aqualift feature for the first time this weekend on our Kitchenaid oven. The oven really wasnt that dirty, but we wanted to get the glass door cleaner. The Aqualift process did nothing to clean the oven door. No matter how many times we ran the process. We ended up using a half of box of Brillo pads to get the oven door glass clean. This is not what we expected for the price of the range we paid from a kitchen specialty appliance dealer. This experience was unbelievable. The inside of the oven wasnt that much cleaner either. But the 2 cups of water were still sitting on the bottom of the oven like the manual stated. Note: We did not use the Brillo pads on the oven cavity as we did not want to scratch the finish. We have used the pads on other glass items without scratching the glass; therefore did the oven glass door only. It took about 2 hours of manual labor to get the glass cleaned. This will be the last Kitchenaid product we purchase as a result.

I purchased a refrigerator from HH Gregg. My one year KitchenAid refrigerator broke down right before the warranty was up. They had to put in a new compressor - after one year the fridge was toast. It took me many calls to KitchenAid/Whirlpool to have them provide a reputable servicer. The first one, provided by HH Gregg (A&E Factory Service) took my fridge apart and left, never to return. The second, VIA Services came and fixed the fridge, but now after one month is it not working again. KitchenAid said it is no longer under warranty even though it is the same problem. NEVER buy a KitchenAid Whirlpool product. The company has no integrity and their products STINK! Stay far away.

KSC23C8EYY02 - Bought new with all other KitchenAid appliances. Thus far the dishwasher is the only appliance that has not given us problems. The refrigerator/freezer (less than 36mos. old) has stopped cooling for the second time. Their customer service folks are well trained and nice, but the product is terrible. And, if you have service done under warranty by their contracted service folks (in our case Alabama Power) dont take Freon leak as a problem answer and solution of replacing Freon. I am now on my second go round of throwing out a fridge of wasted food in the last 6 weeks. Only to be told it will be 6 days before they can come out.

The over the stove KitchenAid microwave has been in daily use for 6 months. It usually works well, but there are random times when a message code appears rendering the micro unusable. The open/close door message will flash and it doesnt matter how many times you obey the command. The microwave will not allow a time to be entered or heat. After an hour or two the microwave will work just fine... Always after the meal is finished without those baked potatoes you allowed 12 min. cook time for.

First, after less than one year of use, the soap dispenser broke, so we got less-than-satisfactory washes from that point on. Now, the top rack is broken. All wheel assemblies are off, and it cost $80 for replacement parts that they gave us no instructions for. This has been the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. I have owned less-expensive units that cleaned better and never fell apart. Only reason we changed was we upgraded other appliances to stainless steel, and this dishwasher was much quieter. Never buying this brand again. Cheaply made!!

I tried to find the diagrams for KitchenAid Model KDTE204DSS1 to no avail, as they keep providing a different but supposedly similar model. The washer has a pump that whines and screams and now it will not pump. I did the usual, and cleaned the filters etc. Finally with a turkey baster, I emptied all of the water from washer. I then carefully removed the three prong brown wire from the pump. I twisted the pump and it came out in my hands. Once the pump is totally dissimilar to all pump on the dishwashers that Kitchen Aid lists. This does not make very happy. As I write this, should I find/buy a pump in the morning and put it in place and the machine again fails, I look at the circuit board and head to Sears to buy a Kenmore. Kitchen Aid needs to be in the garburator.

My 5-year old KitchenAid dishwasher (Model: KUDP02FRSS3) pops open during run cycle. I have had 6 or 7 service calls, and none of which have fixed the problem for a few weeks or months. When working, we have good results as far as cleaning is concerned, unlike some other KitchenAid owners. I cannot count the number of times we have used a chair propped up against the door to complete a cycle. The door striker and/or latch have been replaced 3 times, while the springs and nylon cord have been replaced once.During this repair, the tech bent the hinges inward and installed a single rubber bushing on one of the hinges to increase friction with the door in the closed position. He would have installed 2, but he only had one. The door did stay closed for 2 or 3 months. Eventually, the single bushing worked its way off. Probably because the original hinge was not designed for this bushing. During my third most recent service call, the tech installed a new plastic latch. The machine would close but it would not start.I checked the CB and was advised on the phone to do a hard reset (i.e., leaving the CB off for 30 seconds or so). This did not solve the problem. When the tech returned, he was stumped by this problem. Looking at the new latch, I figured out the problem - the latch requires a wider striker to activate the power switch. The tech then installed the correct striker for the new latch. The door closed and the dishwasher worked for 2 or 3 days.My wife was afraid to tell me it stopped working again. When she did, I set up another service call. The same tech came out with no parts on his truck. He tried to bend the striker so it would stay latched - no go, the door would not stay closed. He then removed the door sea and found that the door striker and latch open with almost no effort. He decided to order a new latch and striker assembly - a new door seal and new hinges. These should come next week and when I get them, I have to call for another service appointment, which I should get 1-2 weeks after my call.In the meantime, I am using a small metal L bracket and a C clamp so we can use the dishwasher. There is no doubt that this product is defective in design construction and materials. I have spoken to KitchenAid and they claim no problems with this machine. In the end, KitchenAid/Whirlpool will get what they deserve, fewer customers! Fortunately, I have had an extended warranty from Sears and just extended it for a year. The lemon law requires 4 repairs within the preceding 12 months, the fourth being within 60 days of the third repair. Should the next repair fail, I will use every resource available to get a new machine, obviously not a KitchenAid, including filing a claim in small claims court.

After only a year and a half we started noticing ice buildup on the inside of the freezer and the refrigerator was not as cold. Made adjustments to the temp settings and still no difference. Called manufacturer and they pointed out that the warranty was expired but if we paid $129.00 to have a service technician check the refrigerator the part that might not be working could be covered or maybe not. A shot in the dark in other words. So I’m checking website troubleshooting tips and this is a common problem. If that’s the case why don’t they show some class and fix it!

We bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher from a wholesale dealer in Mississauga, Ontario less than a year ago with a 3-year extended warranty. Seven weeks ago, the fuse burnt and had we not stopped the machine, there could well have been a fire hazard. The repairs was called via the wholesale dealer who directs you to KitchenAid head office who eventually send a repairman who tells us that the parts have to be ordered and will be in touch. Weeks drag into months and it 7 months now. The handler for the company incidentally is in the USA and we live and bought the equipment in Canada. Multiple calls followed and we are offered a 3-year extended warranty to placate our annoyance. It seems 94 people ahead of us are waiting for their parts. Threats to reach the decision makers are blocked. We are given 48 hours notice which turns to 3 days. We are thinking of connecting with the Toronto newspapers and the Better Business Bureau. Where else can we complain where it will be noticed by other consumers and heed taken?

We purchased a KitchenAid 48 KSSC48QT side-by-side (for custom wood panel inserts) from Factory Builder Store along with a double oven, microwave, dishwasher, all KitchenAid. The ice maker on the refrigerator has been a joke from the beginning. The ice dispenser does not work, we have to open the freezer door in order to scoop ice out of the bin on the door. When we open the freezer door, ice always falls all over the place and the flap on the ice maker is covered with an ice sheet from some type of leakage. After reading everyones comments, I have come to the conclusion that KitchenAid will soon be a past American icon and I will need to just take it as a loss. What a shame. My kitchen is the heart of my home and was featured in our local newspaper and in MySanAntonio website. We entertain almost every weekend and I make sure all my guests and neighbors know that I dont have any ice from the freezer in my kitchen because KitchenAid makes a lousy product. Guests have naturally gone to the freezer door during a party to dispense ice and I just comment Oh sorry, it’s a KitchenAid. Don’t ever buy one! Please get the ice from my old freezer in the garage! (which for 10 years has worked perfectly). Some of these folks are CEOs, contractors and custom home builders so I make sure the word gets out. I guess I will just keep a supply of bagged ice till the whole ** thing gives out on us, which I expect will happen soon based on everyones feedback!

We bought all KitchenAid appliances when we moved due to their reputation for quality. We didnt get it. The refrigerator has leaked (a recall that we werent notified of) and it marked our hardwood floor. The ice maker quit and now the deli door has broken off. The gas cook top hums all the time and the double oven heats slowly and cools with a noisy fan for a long time. It also snaps and pops when heating and cooling. Our dealer says this is normal. Im writing this so people dont pay extra for KitchenAid quality that is no longer there.

I purchased a KitchenAid induction double oven range, model KSIB900ESS1 through my home builder, who installed it in July 2017. We moved into the home August 1. It worked correctly until October, although the induction burners make a lot of noise. In October the ovens quit working. We called KitchenAid, who sent an appliance repairman out in two days. A week later we hear nothing from the appliance guy. After several calls, I found out that the part that needed replaced did not exist. Confused, I called KitchenAid again and asked for another repairman. This one came out, found the problem, and located a replacement board within a week. I preheated the top oven two hours after he left and both of the ovens quit again. It is now a week later (tomorrow will be a month without an oven) and we are no further along in getting this fixed. Added to that: today I received a large box on my doorstep from KitchenAid (which I did not order) that I think might contain pots and pans that I dont need. Im afraid to open it because I dont want them saying I accepted pots and pans in lieu of a workable oven. What the heck is going on with this company?? Two days til Thanksgiving but we wont be able to cook anything in the oven this year. Thank goodness the range still works or wed be eating microwaved everything.

After six years, our microwave stopped working. A service repairman said he could fix it for $375, something to do with the panel door message. I figured I could go without the microwave for a while. Then after cleaning the oven, the glass shattered in the microwave. Heat must have risen and too hot. The oven still works, but the glass is still getting into the oven and on the floor. Of course, this model is discontinued. Im looking at GE as a replacement. Too bad as everything else in our kitchen is KitchenAid. I would not recommend anyone doing their kitchen with this company.

Purchased a Kitchen aid dishwasher on 01/21/21 to replace a Kitchen Aid dishwasher that did not last 3 years. Was not what I wanted but beggars cant be choosers. Model number KDFM404KPSO, the first issue was that it smelled like an oil refinery when operating, and still does. Called the manufacturer, and was told oh that is the material they used to help with heat retention. It should dissipate in 6 months or so. Believe me that this smell was/ is nauseating. Second issue was the noise level. It was touted as one of the quietest on the market, believe me it is not. It was making noises that the service rep sent to check it out could not explain. Now scheduled for a complete rebuild after less than 2 months.Third issue. It does not get some of the dishes dry especially on the top racks, and yes we use a drying agent. Both kitchen aid dishwashers have proven unreliable, but at least while the old one worked it did not stink up my kitchen, and you could not tell it was running when standing over it. Will NEVER buy another product made by this manufacturer, and they make several different brands.

In 2012 I purchased my new home and upgraded to ALL KitchenAid appliances. It was costly and I wish I would have done better research on appliance manufacturers. Just before the warranty was up on the first year, my refrigerator was leaking water. KitchenAid came out and fixed the water dispenser tubing. The repairman suggested that I buy another warranty and to keep buying them. He added that KitchenAid appliances are constantly breaking and the refrigerator was the worst appliance for reliability. I purchased a new 1 year warranty and that was up 1 month ago. I did not renew the warranty this year due to recent unemployment. Now the thermostat is out and it is going to cost me $300.00. I am going to purchase the warranty on all of the other appliances and ride this out. BBB and Consumer Reports recommend Thermador. I will be certain to never buy KitchenAid again and will go with what is recommended by the experts. Thanks KitchenAid!

KitchenAid offers to replace it, oh by the way it will cost you $600.00 because it is out of warranty. I ask KitchenAid if they are for real, $600.00 for a light bulb, are you kidding me. Everything else on the fridge works but the LED lights. Poor design such that the connector pulls off the wires that are buried inside the cabinet and the modern techs do not know how to repair, therefore, need new fridge is the answer. We also have the KitchenAid model KUDS30CXBL1. The supports for the upper basket have now broken on each side. We were lucky that in the first instance the person we contacted sent a replacement part for no cost and intimated that he would do so even though we did not have a service contract. Well the second time this happened, just the other day, we did have a service contract but they told us this part is not covered by the service contract. So we wasted $85 on a service contract that does not cover what we needed and we now have to pay $25 plus tax and shipping for the part. Needless to say, we are most unhappy with this product and the service contract. We have to pay to replace a part that is a design defect as we have not abused the product in any way. Just normal use. We will not be purchasing a KitchenAid product in the future and do not recommend it to anyone reading this review. The KSSC48QTS00 refrigerator I put into service in Dec. 2007 failed Aug. 3, 2015. I am having the same experience with KitchenAid as many others. The circuit boards controlling the refrigerator failed due to an overheating problem brought on due to a design flaw of the compressor housing on top of the unit not being large enough to adequately have proper air flow which caused the circuit boards to overheat and fail. Like the rest of you, I too was told the of plant being destroyed making the parts unavailable to fix the problem. They are now available at the consumers expense because of the warranty expiring. That seems reasonable until I find that the failure was caused by the enclosure being too inadequate to handle the heat load generated by the compressor and motor. I was told that their authorized service technicians have been trained on how to modify the upper enclosure to add more air flow to the newly designed circuit boards to keep them from overheating. I was told that the new board will carry a one year warranty. That seems reasonable, except that if they fail due to heat not being dissipated properly that I would again be responsible for any parts and labor to fix the unit.If a product has to be redesigned for the new parts to work properly, that the expense of the modification should be borne by the company that initially designed the product, not the consumer. I tried in vain to relay this to them. All I got was that it is out of warranty. The consumer is responsible for the parts, labor, and any other expenses associated with the repair. They do though say that they are sorry for our inconvenience and that we have a good day, and thank you for choosing KitchenAid.

Warranty service technicians so far made every excuse imaginable for us using wrong soap, wrong quantity of soap, machine can make occasional splash?! but practically fixed noting and problem remains. We tried their remedies but to no avail. KitchenAid indicated they only replace the dishwasher in proven non-repairable cases but refuse to specify how many tries to fix the problem are needed to qualify for that. In the end, it may prove cheaper to buy another dishwasher than to skip work another 4-5 times that will likely take KitchenAid to fix or replace this unit. If you live in the Philadelphia, PA area, consider a non-Whirlpool brand just to get more useful warranty support, if for no other reason.

Well for the send time our expensive KitchenAid Built-in Side by Side Refrigerator Freezer Failed. It is almost 10 years old. The refrigerator repairmen from Judd and Black Electric arrived about 12:00 and fussed around with our fridge for an hour. In my opinion they didnt have a clue really and ** thought they were rude. At the end of the process they said the main control module was out, KitchenAid didnt make the part, it wasnt available anymore and they couldnt fix the KitchenAid KSSC48QMS01 side by side built in refrigerator. Period. They said that Core Centric could rebuild the control board but they didnt offer to take it out or send it in to Core Centric. The entire afternoon I researched the issue and learned that there are several companies that will rebuild the control board for about $100, found a YouTube Video on how to remove it and learned the serial number (W10219463-119) of the offending part. I will NEVER buy a KichenAid product again.

After installing a Kitchenaid Microwave Convection oven we found that the door steamed to total fog, remaining this way often for 24-30 hours. After a service call and a recommendation to replace the unit by the service people, the exchange was denied by the product exchange department - who did not even have the grace to call and tell me of the denial. After protesting that 24-30 hours is not acceptable for a door to fog over (never has happened with any other microwave oven I have owned) was not normal, I was told point blank that the product exchange department has the last word and it is final. It is a $500 unit and I cannot believe that they would not just exchange it. I am a designer who specifies products often - I will not work with Kitchenaid again based on this experience.

Purchased KitchenAid refrigerator in Jan. 2013 for 2,500. Fast forward to Feb 2017, freezer defrosts food overnight. Freezer full of food lost. Next fridge no longer cooling. Call local appliance repair company. Comes out same day! Informs me he is unable to repair issue and advises that it is a recall issue and provides me all recall info. Well, calling Whirlpool customer service was the worst customer service I have ever received. After 2 calls and 2 hours later, finally got an appointment booked for a tech to come repair issue, but was told this repair would be at my expense as Whirlpool disputes the fact that this is a recall, even though I had the service point number quoted to me by a qualified repair technician. Regardless refrigerator needed repair. Was told I would receive call from agent evening before appointment date. No call. Appointment window I was given was 9am-5pm, by 2pm not even a phone call yet. Called CS line again and was advised no tech would be coming out to my home. No sympathy at all from any agent I dealt with, in fact, found them all to be extremely rude!! Next available appointment not for one full week. Was told they will not provide any compensation! Worst experience ever. Will NEVER recommend KitchenAid to anyone nor will I ever purchase another KitchenAid appliance in the future. So disappointing.

This is probably the worst oven Ive ever had. It take 20 minutes for it to heat up to 425 degrees and just as long for any other temp. The noise it makes is annoying. Why they put the fan in the oven is beyond me. I wish I was told that it was noisy and slow! It gets hotter as you bake also. I would not buy another one.

Constant icing issues with no resolution from Whirlpool. This is a known issue as Ive come to find, but all Whirlpool does is provide a repair to melt the ice. No replacement, this is the third or fourth time this has happened. My recommendation is to NEVER buy this model, and if possible, never buy from Whirlpool.

Our stainless steel, French door, KitchenAid refrigerator is a year old. The ice cube maker stopped working, so we had to have a service person come out. The diagnosis is that the ice maker broke, due to ice build-up. The part is under warranty, but the first service charge is $189.00 and they have to come again after the part is ordered. How can they charge to fix a part that is still under warranty that broke because it is defective? I will never buy from KitchenAid again.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS30IXBL2 - This dishwasher was purchased in May of 2011 by the previous owners of the home we purchased in March 2013. I started having problems in December 2014 with the dishwasher running about 10 minutes then stopping. Called Lowes who had sold the dishwasher. The previous owners had purchased a 4 year extended warranty, but Lowes wouldnt honor this because we werent the ones who bought the dishwasher. Just another rip off of getting out of honoring the warranty. Repairman came out and ran all the diagnostic codes. Came back and replaced the console. This didnt fix the problem. Called again. Still running intermittently. Sometimes completed cycle and sometimes not. He came and replaced the sensor. Meanwhile the rollers and glide holding the top rack started to break. As I see on this site, that seems to be a common problem. Called back to get repairman to come again and mentioned the rack problem and was told the company had a call back on the rack parts. So repairman came and replaced all the broken parts for the rack, ran codes again and said it might be the control. He got into the control and took off and reattached every wire and found no problems but said it might be the control. I ran the dishwasher again, and it quit after about an hour. Restarted it with no detergent in it, and it still didnt complete the cycle. Called back today and was told they could order the control, at a cost of $189. To date, I have spent $378.81 with another $200 part ordered and still have a dishwasher that doesnt work. The original dishwasher cost $773.19 so I will soon have an all redone dishwasher that may still not work. This is absolutely unforgivable. I have had about 3 dishwashers in 2 other houses in 40 years and NEVER had any of these kinds of problems. I was always led to believe Kitchen Aid was a top of the line dishwasher. This one is NOT EVEN 4 YEARS OLD and has almost cost its original purchase price! I want to see something done about this by the company. And I will NEVER, repeat NEVER purchase another Kitchen Aid product.

Did you know KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool which includes Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Kitchen Aid... Pretty much all the heavy hitters from the US fall under the Whirlpool umbrella now. Just keep that in mind as read through all of these disappointing posts about quality, service and general safety. I, like many, replaced my entire kitchen with what I believed was the TOP quality KitchenAid appliances. I bought the KEMS308SSS05 which is a Micro/Convection oven combination. Its failed now 5 times since I purchased new in 2012. I am 4 months outside of the 2 year warranty but the first problems (for which theyve never corrected because it continues to happen) started with the first 90 days.I get sometimes there are lemons at ANY company, we are humans and were not perfect, but a company when realizing their faults need to step up and cure the deficiencies. Thats the difference between an average company and a great company, and sadly whirlpool seems no longer to be or even want to be a great company.

Kitchenaid Oven Model # KEBC177K5503: This was the second time it quit working after using the self-clean feature. We paid to have it fixed the first time but called KitchenAid the second time. After seeing all the other complaints, we thought they would at least send out a DIY kit to replace thermo piece that keeps the oven from working. They would only charge me for a service call and then any necessary parts. Their reasoning is that they wont fix something that hasnt been recalled but who has the authority to recall the defective ovens? KitchenAid! I will never, ever purchase any KitchenAid product again! And I will spread the word every chance I get. When I see how many complaints there are out there for this product and KitchenAid is laughing all the way to the bank, it makes me angry.

Im a commercial dishwasher repairman. My 10-month old dishwasher failed, dead, no lights, nothing. I checked the power and performed troubleshooting steps, determined the problem was a bad control board. I called the folks who sold it to me. They did not have a control board in stock. I asked that they bring a board with them so they could fix it with one visit. They said no, they could not be sure the board was the problem. I was going to have to wait 5 days (including Saturday & Sunday) for them to show up between 1 and 4, and then have to go through another wait until they were able to get the part. I am not very fond of washing dishes by hand, so I called around and found a parts place that could have the part by the next day (Saturday). The part came in and I installed the part, which fixed the problem. I called the dealer and canceled the service call and asked if it was possible to get any credit on the part. They said no, but I could call KitchenAid. I called KitchenAid this morning. No luck, it did not matter that Id saved them two service calls. It did not matter that I had taken the risk for the cost of the part if my diagnosis had been incorrect (with electronic parts, once the box is open, you own it). After speaking with Shari and David (a supervisor), KitchenAids policy is inflexible. If a customer touches it, they dont warranty it. In addition, they refused to send someone out to inspect my work or to confirm the board was bad. Im very disappointed! Heck, if they had offered to split the cost of the part or even to give me credit towards my next KitchenAid Appliance, Id have been thrilled. Instead, I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth.

I bought a KitchenAid dishwasher May 2013. HORRIBLE. Within weeks, problems showed up. Wine glasses exploded in top rack, their shards damaging the engine. Food sticks and dries on dishes, requiring hand washing of ALL items first. Plastic mixing bowls melt in top rack. And that top rack, so flimsy, falls off its track at will. When I complained to KA, they said it was my tough luck and, because they dont replace their faulty products, that I should shell out more money for extended service. I did that. And wow, what a nightmare thats become! Horrible and rude technicians come out, late and almost always accusatory: dont use right detergent, dont use right amount of detergent. Today, the guy summarized, Youre having trouble because you dont know how to use a dishwasher. Time to cut my losses and frustrations and look for a reliable appliance, NOT KITCHENAID.

We had this oven range delivered in early December 2019. By Dec 26, the inside top oven enamel had shattered. On February 1st, 2020, the oven enamel shattered again. The oven was used a handful of times, never over 400 degrees F. Enamel could have easily gotten into my food while cooking. I am a very dissatisfied customer! I bought a KitchenAid Side-by-Side with Ice Dispenser Refrigerator (Model #KSRV22FVSS04) on 10/22/11 and have had to have 3 service calls within the warranty period (now about to end 1 year later) on the same problem with the ice dispenser. The dispenser chute mechanism is not strong enough to always close and will remain open and not properly dispense ice. When that happens, this allows warm air to get up into the auger mechanism and freeze it up completely, and water flows all over the floor. With the first service call, it was identified that we had been delivered an older model that had a design flaw in the chute mechanism that the company knew about, but didnt fix, and was also missing a part that had to be ordered and replaced in March 2012. We have maintained as per the manual, so any references to any manual maintenance are not applicable to this problem. However, on October 4, 2012, the same problem happened again, and I came home from work to find a leaking mess all over my kitchen floor again! I called their Customer Care for service, but they were unable to get someone right there for 2 days, and I had to take care of the mess to prevent damage to my kitchen walls and floor again! When the service person did come out today, they did not diagnose the problem correctly, and I still have this problem! To make matters worse, I immediately called KitchenAids Customer Care phone (now I understand why they are experiencing high call volumes) and again waited for 15 minutes, only to have to talk with a very rude Selicia who was unwilling to assist me in resolving my ongoing problem. When I asked to talk to her supervisor, Joetta came on the line and continued with the same rude, snobbish, refuse-to-assist-you attitude, almost calling me a liar; and when I requested for the service repair to come back out and fix the problem, she refused. She also refused to forward me to anyone else to enable me to resolve my customer complaint. For over 20 years, I had GE appliances, including a refrigerator with an ice dispenser, and never had any problems. This KitchenAid Refrigerator is my first and will be my last (and I will never buy another appliance that has the name, KitchenAid) because they sell inferior products that dont work as they are advertised, then they refuse to stand behind their products, and they do nothing to ensure good customer service and satisfaction. I will also be telling everyone I know about my horrible KitchenAid Experience and hopefully prevent others from falling victim to KitchenAids poor quality and service.

Beware of this company. Unfortunately Kitchen Aid /Whirlpool contracted with company. Cheap unprofessional, poor service and absolutely no customer service. Had tech guy from Field appliance. His name was Steven. Came over my house. Already complaining that he was an hour late because of his GPS. He proceeded to look at my refrigerator and say he wasn’t sure if it was a thermostat. He went outside and called whirlpool. Spoke to the tech named Bruce. Came back inside very frustrated and angry that he had to take my refrigerator completely apart. Therefore the evaporating system was behind my freezer panel. Took apart my entire freezer. He then complained that he told whirlpool this was not going to work. It was a waste of his time. Stephen then proceeded to re-put my door completely together while I was on the phone with Kitchen Aid to put a formal complaint because now he wants to change my motherboard of my refrigerator. When I came out of my bedroom he already packed and was ready to leave. I checked my freezer door and my door does not align correctly. Call him back into my house to fix it. He looked at it. Said he’s not fixing it. Find another tech. Gotten his vehicle and left. This is poor customer service. He then proceeded to write a fabricated report that I was aggressive and use foul language. Thank God I did record this gentleman. This gentleman is nothing but an habitual liar. Then I had tech-support Steve from field appliance supposedly a manager. Don’t know what they think a manager should be but the customer is always right, I felt this guy was not listening to a word I said. Apparently they must get a lot of customer complaints. I proceeded to tell this gentleman the story of what happened and told him that his tech was completely a liar. He continue to protect his employee and told me to call Kitchen Aid. Like I said no customer service. Very unprofessional. Poor service and fixing. I don’t think their techs know what they’re doing. They’re just second-guessing everything. And just want whirlpool to keep paying them to come out to keep fixing parts and pieces. Now I have an ice chest that doesn’t slide open and close and my door is completely off alignment. Just beware of this company and stay away. It’s a shame to Kitchen Aid now subcontract to this company that’s two hours away from our destination. Very cheap labor, cheap customer service and low quality work. Beware!

I purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator in 2013, stainless steel model #KFIS29BBMSOO. Ive had numerous problems with it, many service calls. The first was the hose in the freezer splitting, which took 5 service calls to figure out, costing me for each one. Finally they said it was a recall item and I should not have had to pay. It was difficult to get my money back from the service people, took months. Now there is ice building up behind the drawers in the refrigerator, blocking the vent. There is about 2 of ice built up so the drawers do not close completely. Everything in the drawers freezes. When I called repair people suggested by Whirlpool. As soon as they heard the model number they refused to come. I called Whirlpool again, they said they have never heard of any problems like this, however, when I read all of the reviews listed here there are a lot of problems with these refrigerators. The repair guys said KitchenAid is one of the worst brands now, made so poorly, but so expensive. They finally found me a repairman, he is about 5 hours away, I told them he is not close, they said he probably knows someone closer to me, however the call is from 8:00-5:00, I have to wait. This has been so frustrating. I purchased 7 appliances at the same time, I did a remodel on my kitchen. My dishwasher failed after one year, the motor actually fell on the floor, it slow leaked onto my wood floors doing $40,000. damage, cabinets had to be pulled out walls repaired, took 5 months. KitchenAid would do nothing. The motor was not installed right at the factory, they tried to blame it on the installers. Im fed up with KitchenAid, would never recommend it to anyone. Im a building contractor. Ive installed many different brands of appliances, from the very expensive to the low end disposable ones. About twenty years ago KitchenAid made a good, reliable, and well priced fridge. It was easily installed with well thought-out and user friendly adjustments for installation. For years I felt confident in recommending KitchenAid as a well-balanced alternative to higher end appliances or European appliances. In 2009 I purchased the full KitchenAid kitchen. Everything about my KitchenAid kitchen has been nothing less than disappointing, from the supplier, to the service, to the parts supplier. KitchenAid is now the disposable appliance at a rich price. I WILL spend the extra, and buy European and will verify it is NOT made in China/PRC!

KDRS483VSS - DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID RANGES!! They dont know how to repair them and their policy is not to replace them but to repair them. I am talking about an $8000 dual fuel range that I have waited years to purchase only to find out that once it was delivered the only thing working properly was the gas top. This is a very classy looking expensive piece of JUNK metal. The hinges on the large oven dont pull the door closed enough to turn off the oven light and you have to press the door in to turn light off. I now have no working ovens at all and this was through the Thanksgiving Holidays. No one cared!!! The oven shows several error codes and now just does nothing. I have never complained publicly before but for the protection of other consumers, I must share what happened to me yesterday with my KitchenAid stove and oven that I purchased 7 years ago for $1,245.00 (model number KGRA806PBT). It is supposed to be the top of the line product with convection oven. First of all, I agree with many people who have written here. I tried the self-cleaning oven one time when I first purchased it and it overheated and the thermal protector failed. The part was covered but not the service call ($100.00). I have never used the self-cleaning feature since. Also, for the past year, the oven has not always worked. As it heats up, I will often get an error sign on the panel. So, I just have not done much baking. Yesterday, I was not even using the stove or oven, and I heard a hissing noise in the kitchen and then a popping sound and then fire! The printed circuit board started a fire in the oven which immediately filled the entire kitchen with black smoke and flames. If I had not been home, I would have lost my house! But I happened to have been home! My husband was also home, although he was supposed to be at work. Thankfully he had a fire extinguisher in the barn so before much damage was done, he had the fire out. Of course Elders Appliance in Grandville, MI, where we bought the stove and oven, (and all our other KitchenAid appliances) said they have never had any complaints! Ya, right! Please do not ever buy a KitchenAid product. Terrible!

We purchased a new KitchenAid KSC23C8EYY for $2600 at the end of Jan. The ice maker didnt make ice for the first 48 hours and then the water started coming on but not shutting off. This happened at night so we didnt notice it until the morning. This filled the freezer with a frozen waterfall of ice and spewed water all over my new kitchen floor and under the new dishwasher. I called Western Appliance to have them replace it since it was brand new and now was covered with ice. They had to send a tech out before they could/would do anything. So I waited 2 days and the tech said a valve was bad. They had to order it. Western Appliance finally agreed after much angry conversation to replace the refrigerator which they had to order. That was another 3 days. Now, 2 months later, the water dispenser and ice maker stopped working. The first tech from A&E that came out had to call Whirlpool service and they recommended that he replace the wiring harness that he had to order, 10 more days! The second tech from A&E that came out said it wasnt the wiring harness and found that the coil inside the refrigerator was iced over. He said to unplug it for 24 hours and it would fix everything. He said that we had left the door open and that was what started the whole thing. Well, this refrigerator door slams shut if you leave it anything less than 90 degrees open, so it is not at all possible that we left the door open. I told the tech that he needed to find the problem that was underlying the frozen coil before I would agree to unplug the refrigerator for 24 hours thawing out all of my food. He said that was what the Whirlpool Service Center was recommending.I called KitchenAid service again and explained my concern and told them they still needed to fix the problem. They agreed to send out another service company. J&H came prepared. They brought their own towels, a cup to test the water dispenser, a floor protector, and a steam generator to defrost the coil. Yipee, someone who actually knows what they are doing! They diagnosed that the two thermistors that defrost the refrigerator and freezer were drawing different voltages. They are ordering parts and should have them in 3 days. Hopefully this fixes the problem. Im not sure that I would go the KitchenAid route again. But I understand that Whirlpool makes KitchenAid, Kenmore, and a few other refrigerators so I dont know how you get a refrigerator that wont have the same problem. I also understand that Samsung and LG have way more issues from the 5 technicians that I have talked to in trying to get a working unit.It seems like a lot of money for something that has had this amount of problems in the first 3 months of purchase. I guess this just reaffirms the old adage, Buyer beware! It sucks!

We have had this stupid side by side shiny stainless steel refrigerator for less than 2 years. The heater or Defrost Thermostat has gone out. There is a buildup of ice on the back of it. We dont know exactly which one has gone out until we turn off the fridge for 24 hour and let it thaw out. After that, the repairman will come back out. We have lost food and this has been a tremendous inconvenience for us. This should not happen on a fridge this old. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND. It sucks!!

I purchased a KitchenAid side by side with french doors and an in-door ice maker. It retailed for around $3,000 and is by far the worst appliance I have ever owned. Periodically it runs very noisily. If the refrigerator door is left open for more that a brief moment, the ice in the bin begins to melt and fuses together and must be dumped. I have replaced the ice maker four times in the six years I have owned this refrigerator. Ridiculous for any unit but especially one in this price bracket. I attempted to contact customer service to discuss the fourth replacement of the ice maker but simply received a form letter indicating that they have no obligation once the warranty runs out. With all the other manufacturers available, select from one of those!

Kitchen Aid range KESK901SSS08 - The cooling fan which runs when the oven is turned on is EXTREMELY loud and has a loud whistling sound which resonates throughout our entire home. Kitchen Aid has said there is nothing wrong with the fan motor and therefore will not honor a return or replacement of this unit. This unit was delivered August 5, 2014 and was not in use until a few weeks later when the oven was first used. We are STUCK with an expensive range which we cannot use!

I have had my KitchenAid slide in range for 3 years, model KGRS807SSS00. Ive had the panel burn out twice while cleaning the oven. Repairman said that this happens quite often due to the fact that the oven heats up so high that it burns out the panel. This seems like a defect with the appliance yet KitchenAid refuses to believe it is their problem and wont repair it. Last time I will ever buy a KitchenAid.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator just over 1 year ago and have been having issues with the ice maker since about month 10. I just dont understand how consumers are left holding the bad end of the stick with products that are sub-par when we purchase in good faith and even purchase extended warranties. I was asked when I called for service of the same issue for the second time in about a month, if I had called the manufacturer to inquire about the issue. I quickly responded that this is the very reason that I purchased a 3-year extended warranty and that I consider this to be her/the companys job to investigate and find out and not mine. I suggest before anyone purchases a major appliance to do a considerable amount of research to find out the good, the bad, and the ugly about the product. Otherwise, you will spend a lot of time being frustrated.

He replaced the electronics and the compressor. Now we have to wait till the end of the month for them to replace the coils. Customer service is horrible, they will not talk about replacing it because we don’t meet the “CRITERIA”, for replacement. We have always bought Kitchen Aid appliances but never again they don’t live up to their past reputation. Where are the class action attorneys? Model KRFC704FBS01.

My Kitchen Aid dishwasher is less than two years old. I had one repair at 6 months. My dishwasher stopped working recently so I called Kitchen Aid and they said I needed to have it serviced at my cost because it wasnt under warranty. When the repairman came he found the clamp detached from the pump and water was everywhere. He stated that Kitchen Aid has many issues with this type of clamp. In fact there is a recall of the clamp on certain models but not mine... However it is the same clamp. Kitchen Aid refuses to admit that it is a similar problem even though I now have a blue dot on the model number plate indicating that the clamp has been replaced. I have had repairs to appliances and never have I noticed that unless it is a recall.

I purchased a resale home with existing KitchenAid appliances (four years old). In the short time I lived in my new home, I have seen multiple issues that doesnt seem normal to me. During cooking and when self-cleaning the oven, all the sensors turn off automatically including the clock and will turn back on its own after about an hour. It almost seem like the stove is overloaded even with one burner on. It shut the fan and all of the buttons on--the touch screen also stopped functioning. On 12/30/2011, while making dinner, the oven light came on and I cant turn it off. When I pressed the turn off button, it beeps and wouldnt turn the light off. It has been three hours and the light is still on and this concerns me very much as this is a safety issue for my family. I unplugged the stove and plugged it back in but the light is still on.

Again appointment was rescheduled and then he came in again, did troubleshooting and said he will replace door. The same model - a KitchenAid counter depth 29 inch depth refrigerator was put in our new kitchen by a reputable contractor, in addition to a new KitchenAid dishwasher, stove and in counter microwave. The refrigerator lasted exactly 22 months at which time the freezer stopped working. We called a service repair man and he noted that it was a very serious problem - the entire cooling unit of the refrigerator needed to be replaced and would cost $1500-1600 to repair. He advised we buy a new refrigerator. We are in the process of doing so, as the repair man said the refrigerator portion of it may last 2 days or 2 weeks. This is totally unacceptable. We contacted our kitchen contractor and he said he would call Whirlpool to see what they will do to remedy the situation. I would not want another KitchenAid appliance if they gave it to us for free.

We purchased this dishwasher in December 2013. We immediately noticed that the dishes on the top rack and in the utensil tray were coming out dirty, in some cases dirtier than when they went in. In particular, the coffee cups had a baked on residue of detritus that meant we needed to wash them by hand after soaking for a while. We contacted the vendor, Corbeil Electric, who referred us to Whirlpool to get the dishwasher repaired. We had a repair done in January 2014, which did not fix the problem although it was better. We had another repair done in about March, and we waited for a new piece for more than a month. The problem recurred in the summer, and we had it repaired again (same piece replaced) in September. 1 week later, the same problem is still happening. If someone had mentioned in the reviews that the dishwasher did not get the dishes clean, we would not have purchased it. The service from Whirlpool is appallingly bad, with wait times up to 30 minutes to get through to the service line and they apologize profusely each time but say they cannot do anything about our dud dishwasher. The dishwasher is very quiet, but the dishes are dirty when they come out.

I have a kitchenaid (owned by whirlpool) refrigerator. It is a built in unit that cost almost 8k when purchased six years ago. A small electric board went out on the unit. In contacting whirlpool I was told that the board was not made any more and the only way to resolve my issue was to receive a prorated amount against the purchase of a new Whirlpool refrigerator. I was sent to a review board who got back to me within a couple weeks to relate to me I could purchase a new unit from them (I will never purchase another Whirlpool product ever again) and can get a 1,500 credit toward a new unit. So if you buy anything from these people dont expect it to last. Not only does it break but it is irreparable. Not to mention it is a racket. Think about it, they sell you an over-priced unit that to their own admission only last 6 years and then they hook you to keep buying from them. Crooks!!!

Superba YKEBC107KM - 2 issues; Door hinges seized and new thermostat blew after one self clean. 2 authorized repairmen failed to fix my door hinge problem. The 2nd guy said it would be $600 parts & labor in addition to the $150 service call that left my oven torn apart! I ordered new hinges and receivers from Partselect.ca and installed them myself. All good. I thought it would be smart to replace the 12 year old thermostat while I had the unit out. The replacement thermostat blew with the first self clean cycle. Partselect sent me a replacement which I just installed (now Im a pro at working on this unit!). I suspect the part is NOT at fault. Its more likely the lack of ventilation in the cabinet space to dissipate the extreme heat created during self clean. The thermostat is actually working properly. It senses the operating temperature has risen beyond what the components can handle and shuts it down. Unfortunately, this solution is not prioritized by manufacturers and technicians. The feature is what sells more units. So its true; more bells and whistles doesnt necessarily mean better! KA will not give consumers any insight into repair of their products. It is a racket that insulates the manufacturers through the technicians, financed by the consumer.

Plus, the companies they send out can only give you a full day appointment and the company they sent doesnt even come in the window set up.I tried to talk to a manager but shockingly one wasnt available. We decided to purchase a Kitchen Aid dishwasher (KUDC10FXSS) to replace our Whirlpool dishwasher in the spring of this year. We have had nothing but problems with it. I noticed that it was running through rinse aid very quickly and then completely shut down. We were told that it needed a new control board, which was then replaced. It took three weeks to get this part in because it was on back order. Less than a week later, the rinse aid began pouring out from the dispenser, so once again a repairman came out and told us that we must have a bad dispenser so that was replaced next. Even with the new dispenser, I am now having to add rinse aid every two weeks and have a terrible film on my glasses and dishes. I called the business where we bought it and they sent out the same repair guy, who told me that he doesnt know why its going through rinse aid so quickly and that he would research it for me. Well, its been three weeks and no word from him or the business which he works for. We asked to replace this dishwasher because we think its a lemon and we were told that unless we have three separate incidents with it, Kitchen Aid will not replace it. We are very frustrated and will not buy any Kitchen Aid products in the future!

This is a good looking, rather expensive refrigerator. It has a very well styled and functional interior; more room than I anticipated and much easier to store things neatly in freezer than my last side by side. The major disappointment is the drawers in the refrigerator part. They are so flimsy that they came apart and had to be taken out and put back together after using a short time. This was extremely disappointing since the rest of this appliance is sturdy, well thought out and beautifully styled. What were they thinking? I am very careful dealing with opening and closing filled drawers so they dont come apart again. Our KitchenAid dishwasher is about 5 years old. I just loved it for the first two years, and then it never seemed to clean the dishes. So I rinsed them before putting them in the dishwasher; then, it didnt even remove the soap. I washed them and then put them in the dishwasher to rinse them. About a month ago, it started to run on its own. It was just the top drawer. I could not shut it off. Now, both drawers will not stop running. I consider this a fire hazard, and this dishwasher should be recalled before someone dies in a fire. My husband is totally disabled and is scared to be in the house in case the thing catches fire. Presently, I cannot afford to replace it. So we have to put up with two drawers full of water, which is beginning to smell. I add a little bleach every day.
