I originally purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (model# KRFC604FSS) May 313 2017, along with 4 other KitchenAid appliances (this is a new build). All but the stove arrived 6/21/17. When we plugged the fridge in, it was making a very loud noise and many of our contractors said it was abnormally loud and I should call Pacific Kitchen & Home/Best Buy. When I did, I was told to talk to the Geek Squad and then call KitchenAid directly. That was the beginning of long wait times on the phone, automated voice messages, getting disconnected after providing endless details (they cannot call you back) and waiting to speak with a human that could take action. When I finally did speak with someone they argued with me about the date of purchase (which I have the receipt for) and how loud the noise was. They refused to replace the fridge and sent someone out. The first time I sat home for 8 hours and no one showed up. They rescheduled. The second time, they said they would be there between 8 and 12. They didnt show up and said they would come at 2. I was not able to wait, so I asked to cancel, and they said they couldnt cancel the appointment after the driver was already en route. They showed up and no one was here. When I called to reschedule they said that I wasnt there for my appointment which I explained was not the case. Then they fixed the fridge but not the dent or the rust on the front door. So I started the process all over. Finally after many calls and arguments, asking them to just replace the door, they refused and sent me free stainless steel cleaner. Pacific Kitchen & Home agreed to replace the fridge since they thought KitchenAid should have done this. The new fridge came the end of September. The ice maker stopped working early December (who needs ice during the peak holiday season?) So I made another appointment and they then canceled it, a few days before. Today the repairman came (12/29) and said that he didnt have the parts. He will be back next Friday. So this is the general gist of my experience so far. When the repair person arrives he is polite and does his best. Pacific Kitchen & Home have also tried their best (by replacing the fridge in September). The bottom line is that KitchenAid produced a poor-quality product, would prefer to fight with the consumer than provide service, and sends their repair people out without the required parts. It is important to note that this fridge was over $2600 and I have now had to take time off from work, on four occasions, and it is still not working. I have had THE SECOND fridge in my house for three months. It is still not working properly and failed during the month that I have the most people at my home. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND going elsewhere with your business.

The top racks are difficult to load with glasses and cups as the metal rods interfere with loading. Equipped with eco wash and top tray can be adjusted vertically. Probably a good size as any larger would require second setting of dishware. The only beef I have with this unit is the fact that its noisy. What can a few inches of insulation cost?

I had a KitchenAid dishwasher for 20 years and finally, I decided to replace it only because it was not dispensing the soap completely. I wish I had my old one back. The new model (KUDC10FXWH) I purchased in May 2011 and cost $940 including installation, warranty and tax is a big disappointment. So far, the repairman has been out 3 times. The last diagnosis was a control panel malfunction, which causes the dishwasher to shut itself off. It is almost useless to me because I have to run a cycle twice and/or a separate rinse to be sure the dishes are clean. Mostly, I have reverted to washing dishes by hand to save water and frustration. So far, I have not had to pay anything out of pocket due to the regular warranty. But thank goodness I got the extended warranty because I think I will need it. Buyer beware!

I bought a KitchenAid dishwasher (Model: KUDS30IXBL) and within a couple of months, I noticed that the side air vent was damaging the wood cabinet and the drawer next to it. I called KitchenAid customer service and was told that there was nothing they could do about it because, according to them, the dishwasher was functioning properly. I called the store where I purchased it from and they sent out a couple of installers who looked at the damage and said,I knew this was going to happen when I saw the side air vent design. They took a couple of pictures of the damage and said that they would let their boss know. I have been waiting for two weeks and no word yet from them.

We recently bought a kitchen full of appliances and have already had the double wall ovens replaced (after less than a year) and the ice maker in the refrigerator has NEVER worked properly. Kitchen Aid is a pro at disassociating themselves with resolving the problem. I have now had service on my refrigerator 4 times, replaced the ice maker only to have it still dispensing crushed ice I have neither selected or wanted. This time, they kept me on the phone for over an hour (really) as they passed me from person to person only to schedule service but not tell me that they did. Each time they come out, it will generate yet another visit if they need to order a part. AT WHAT POINT WILL YOU TAKE THIS APPLIANCE OUT OF MY HOUSE! I foolishly purchased the extended warranty for all my appliances - well this only lets the manufacturer off the hook because they push everything off to the extended plan that I paid for even if the problem occurred under the original warranty! What a hoax. LEARN FROM ME AND DO NOT PURCHASE THESE APPLIANCES.

Purchased two KitchenAid (owned by Whirlpool) under-counter refrigerator/freezer drawer units for a remodel. Both had issues from day one. I called Whirlpool, and they scheduled their choice of tech to come look at the units. After the third tech visit the unit started leaking. After the 5th service call (they came out 7 times before it was fixed) for the leak I had to go out of town and while I was gone my buildings maintenance team entered my condo and found that the unit had been leaking again and ruined the wood flooring. I filed claim with Whirlpool. They promptly denied any wrong doing and blamed Panasonic for a faulty part. Because I did not keep the faulty part, how was I to know to keep the faulty part?? Panasonic is denying the claim saying, How can we prove it was their part that caused the damage! How about all the notes from the multiple tech visits to try and fix the POS I bought!? Also, how is it that Whirpool can push blame to Panasonic and not have to take ownership of the problem??? Its been over a year that I filed with them. Whirlpool wont answer or return any calls. Total BS. I will not buy any of their products again and I will let everyone I know about this issue!

KitchenAid refrigerator model #Ksf26c - We purchased our refrigerator less than a year ago and already have dents and scratches on the metal trim of the humidity control drawer and meat drawer. The quality of the metal trim is substandard. I called the parts department at KitchenAid and they will not replace the defective drawers because it is cosmetic. I would definitely recommend not purchasing this refrigerator.

I bought a new KitchenAid dishwasher and within 6 months the dishwasher was not cleaning and leaving residue all over the glasses and dishes. It has ruined all off glass ware. We have had numerous service calls and nobody has been able to fix the problem. They keep telling us it is the detergent, so we switched and we still have the same problem. They then told us that there is a problem with all detergents but nobody with a 30-mile radius seems to have the problem we are having with the now 12-month old dishwasher. I called customer service and they told us there is nothing they can do and we are stuck with this bad dishwasher. I will never buy a KitchenAid appliance and will actively tell people that there service and product sucks.

I purchased a new KitchenAid dishwasher 1 year ago! Model #KDTE104ESS. It’s a piece of garbage. I was taken by KItchenAid. The dishwasher has tore up 2 times and had to have the repairman. Before it was a year old. It still doesn’t work correctly! It doesn’t clean the dishes. I prewash the dishes before I put them in. I paid almost $1,000.00 for this dishwasher and it doesn’t clean the dishes at all. I have to rewash the dishes by hand. It was a waste of money. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid product. Buyer beware.

KitchenAid 21.9 cu ft Refigerator - KBFS22EWMS. Two year old 22 ft french door fridge with bottom freezer is falling apart. Poor build quality, poor service. For over two months, the freezer portion has be experiencing a build up of ice. We defrosted (manually) and build up began again. Waited for over a month for service man to visit. Upon inspection, service noted two things: 1) thermal defrost coil was faulty and 2) fridge door seal needed to be replaced. Our fridge does not experience abnormal usage, two adults and two university students. Why does a door seal deteriorate after two years unless...... its poor quality or defective... but no warranty?? (I have a 20 year old back of fridge in the basement, no problems other than its almond in colour). Why does a coil not work other than its defective or poor quality..... No warranty??? (I have a 25 year old deep freeze that still works). In addition to the defective manufacture and poor quality of this fridge, neither KitchenAid / Whirlpool or the service company can identify the part (i.e part number) to order, replace and fix the fridge. How do you build a product and not know the parts that go into it? Poor or lack of quality control! In the last two years I purchased a fridge, dual fuel range and dishwasher; all were KitchenAid. All were billed as being the best Kitchenaid had. I have had major repairs now on all three appliances! I bought and paid extra for KitchenAid, their quality was in theory better than most, NOT in my experience. In our home KitchenAid stands for KitchenDisabled or Kitchen in need of first aid. Poor build quality and poorer product knowledge and documentation. Run do not walk away from Kitchenaid/Whirlpool. They have a 1 year warranty on parts; is this because they know that within 14 months you will need to be replaced and thereby earn extra revenue from their parts sale? Interesting strategy and sales plan, poor customer service and reputation. Built NOT to last.

We have had a #kitchenaid fridge for 2 years now. The service techs from #PoirierSalesandService have been here at least 4 times. Each time I asked that they replace the fridge, and each time they elected to repair it, stating that my fight was with KitchenAid, not Poirier, despite the fact that they sold it to me. We recently noticed a leak coming from the fridge that has now damaged our cabinets and floor beyond repair. The technician said that theres a crack in the drain pan which you couldnt have caused, meaning that it has been there since the fridge was installed. We have an 7 month old baby girl, and now have mold growing from where the unit was installed. Poirier has at least agreed to file a claim with their insurance to address the cabinets and floor. This is however, apparently of no concern to Kitchen Aid as they have told me that replacing the unit is not an option. I urge all of you reading this to not buy from a company like Whirlpool/KitchenAid, who clearly disregards the well being of their customers, for the sake of profit, and as such chooses not to stand by their product, post sale.

Remodeled kitchen and purchased 4 kitchen aid appliances - thinking they were of great quality and would last. Had nothing but problems since purchased shortly after purchased. Had problem with microwave door problems with fridge - ice maker. Problem with oven when self-clean - shuts down and cant open door. Had fixed 2x -this is the 3rd time! Dishwasher fixed more than once - refused to get fixed again and pay over $300 - can buy a new one.I currently have an ice maker, dishwasher and oven that does not work. Raising 4 children, I am VERY dissatisfied with Orvilles where I purchased the appliances and ESPECIALLY KitchenAid - that doesnt back up the products they manufacture with defects. I will NEVER purchase anything KitchenAid EVER again or shop at Orvilles. I have paid so many service charges and part bills. I refuse to give them any more money!

Every time we use the self clean program, the oven locks up and blows the high limit. This is the third time that we have had a service tech out to repair this wall oven today. He said that he had to replace the blower fan. Its because the old one did not produce enough CFH to keep the oven jacket cool near where the limit is. So, today was another $350.00 added to what we already paid for service calls! I called the customer service number again to register my concerns. The fellow at the other end of the line said that there was nothing he or the company will or would do to rectify the problem or recall the oven, or even say I am sorry. So, I told him that I was going to put the bad mouth on the product and company every chance I get. So, here goes buyer beware: KitchenAid will not stand behind their products!

We had this oven when we purchased the house and it was perhaps the appliance that was least used. Over the past several months we have been getting an error in the control panel F6E0 - Lost Communications. The error would sometimes solve by itself, but this time we waited for about a month before calling a technician. He told us that the control panel would be $700 and the problem may be solved. It may require another control panel replacement which is in the $200 range. Why would Kitchen Aid design products that would last for 5 years when the good old Electric ranges with much less electronics lasted for 20 years. Where is quality? Where is reliability? I perhaps should not blame KitchenAid alone on this. Since we are all demanding (or receiving) products that look more like a computer - we replace it as often as a computer and trash the old ones in China. Further, they declined to post my review on their website - Sure they dont want to see it on their site!

I purchased my KitchenAid French door fridge (Model # KFCS22EVWH2) new in Jan. of 2012. It is now September 2012 and I have a river flowing out of the bottom of my fridge. I have hardwood floors and the water is destroying them. I called Customer Service and a repairman came today. He explained that he reports this problem every day to KitchenAid. Apparently there is a small hole at the back of the freezer that allows condensation to drip into a pan under the freezer. When that hole becomes plugged, the water does not drain and creates an ice dam. When my kitchen heats up from weather or cooking, the ice melts and flows out of the freezer onto my floor. The only way to fix it is to unplug the fridge, let it defrost for 2 days and then plug it back in. Well, that does not fly with me. My husband and I are handicapped and we cannot go through this process every six months to save our floor. This is ridiculous. I called the company back and was told that this is new to them (right!) and they are sending another repair person in tomorrow. I dont know how this will turn out but I do know that I am not very happy right now. Can I trust the person tomorrow to tell me the truth? If he does get it to work, will the problem return after the warranty is up? Who fixes my floor? In all fairness to KitchenAid, I will post the results of tomorrows visit and a follow-up in a few months. I am in hopes that they will take care of this for me without a problem. I purchased a dishwasher and stove at the same time (also KitchenAid) so I hope that this is isolated and not an across-the-board disaster.

Purchased the machine almost 3 years ago. It has been a good machine with the exception of the plastic support for the top rack which breaks about every 12 to 14 months. Apparently looking on YouTube this is a common occurrence and not just an isolated incident. The part is $20 plus shipping, but buy 2 and replace the other side at the same time, it will save on inconvenience. I am baffled by dishwashers these days. None seem to last. We have a KitchenAid KHMC1857WSS--0. We purchased it on 1-29-10; it was delivered on 2-14-10. It first quit working last 12-29-10. I was using the Convect Roast, auto mode, pizza, when it went out very near the end of the cook time; about 15 minutes into the cycle, it blew the fuse. We called and they scheduled service for 1-3-11. They replaced the fuse and said it worked. On 1-18-11, it broke down again in the same mode. Service was scheduled for 1-20-11. They replaced the fuse and some other part, and they offered to extend the service warranty for one year. Good thing, cause it broke again and was serviced on 2-3-11. I asked for a replacement microwave; they dont want to do it, saying that it is more than a year old and is not covered. It broke again and was serviced on 3-7-11. After much complaining, they agree to offer us a microwave replacement for $300. The new microwave was installed on 3-30-11. For some reason, I thought this would fix our problem. But we have the exact same problem on our new microwave. It was first serviced on 10-5-11. They came back on the 13th to put in the new parts, and the service man declared it fixed. I ask that he run it in the pizza mode before he leaves. Guess what, it blows the fuse again. He called it in, and they want to put in another new part.I am fed up. I want a microwave that works. I paid about $1000 for a new one and then paid $300 for a replacement, and I still have junk. The only offer from KA is to continue to service it. I want my money back for the replacement and a microwave that works for more than a month without breaking. KitchenAid will not stand behind their product and has done nothing but steal money from me.

For the last nine years I have replaced refrigerator parts every year. Most of the time it is the diffuser that needs to be replaced or ice maker will burn up and need replacement parts. I understand with the ice maker being used so much it will need parts every so often but every two years is a little outrageous. Beware. Many other refrigerators use these same parts and more than likely have the same problems.

2 months ago, purchased new counter-depth KitchenAid from Sears. It never reached safe temp, and was 68 degrees after first week. Woke to spoiled food, and alarm beeping. Fast forward two months, and this refrigerator has turned our summer into numerous calls to Whirlpool (where you wait 45 min on hold before reaching anyone), 4 service appointments, (where you must be present at home waiting, for a 5 hour window), parts replacement, (must wait at least a week for parts), followed by still nonfunctioning refrigerator, then, start process over, again!!! We have had 3 service calls in the 2 month, now waiting for a fourth, each with major parts repair, only to still have 68 degrees, NON-FUNCTIONING, $3,000 refrigerator!!! Spare yourselves, if you can by staying clear of KitchenAid/Whirlpool. Tell your friends and family!!! I wouldnt wish this experience on ANYONE!!! They refuse to exchange or refund. Only continue to attempt to repair... UGH!!!

We bought a new house in February 2007, and a few months later, we came back from vacation and we had mushrooms growing out our baseboards behind the dishwasher. We called the builder and they came out to take a look. The dishwasher had faulty pump that was leaking. The builder replaced the whole washer, carpet, and baseboards. Now, the pump went out and KitchenAid says it is two months out of warranty and cant help and that I have to shell out $400 to fix the pump. KitchenAid does not stand by their products. I purchased the French door with bottom freezer style fridge from KitchenAid and couldnt be happier. It was bought at a Scratch and Dent store, which made me a bit uneasy for any possible damages that may show up later, but so far everything has been great. Fairly quiet in our open layout kitchen / living room floor plan.I love that it has a water spout on the inside, leaving the exterior clean without the typical water/ice dispenser eyesore. Also leaves less room for broken parts to be fixed. 8 months of ownership so far and the only thing we had to change was the water pressure on the spout. Very easy.

Architect Series II Electric, free standing range: Overall, DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID product due to user error, we needed to replace the oven door seal/gasket. After searching online & by phone in our area and being told that part is not available, I called KitchenAid. As we had registered our appliance they were able to verify our range was only 5 years old. THEY NO LONGER HAVE GASKETS FOR THIS MODEL. No other model gaskets will fit this model. Instead of the anticipated $60.00 repair cost we were told all they could do was sell us a comparable model for employee cost... not including shipping, installation and haul off of our current unit. I blew MY gasket & told them absolutely not. Not one .00 over the stated cost!! The upshot? $700.00+ later, with a wait of over 2 weeks, we will get a new range. They had us over a barrel with no other options for the price. I am flabbergasted, frustrated, disappointed & without a working oven for over half a month. I have always thought of KitchenAid as a quality product & in fact have been happy with the unit. I cannot recommend KitchenAid any longer with its program of planned obsolescence. KitchenAid as a company is horrid. Decent products, lousy policies with employees stuck in an awful position.

This refrigerator is not even 2 years old and one of the LED lights burned out. Long story short, technician could not fix it, he said you need a new fridge, say what, for a light bulb??? KitchenAid offers to replace it, oh by the way it will cost you $600.00 because it is out of warranty. I ask KitchenAid if they are for real, $600.00 for a light bulb, are you kidding me. Everything else on the fridge works but the LED lights. Poor design such that the connector pulls off the wires that are buried inside the cabinet and the modern techs do not know how to repair, therefore, need new fridge is the answer. Do not buy this fridge if you want something that lasts. Also do not bother to call KitchenAid customer service, they are no help at all. This refrigerator is an expensive $9000 built in KBSN602ESS00. It is a replacement for another KitchenAid of the same size. I have had 4 service calls hoping for a tech that can stop the loud, disruptive shaking, rattling noises this unit makes. It is so loud it can easily be heard in the next room where I watch tv. I have spoken to Kitchenaid numerous more times hoping for a solution.Besides the loud ice maker filling with water, the obnoxiously disturbing loud noises from ice cubes dropping, the compressor humming loudly at two different speeds, this built-in makes a sound like metal being shaken and rattling. It can make this noise 6 times in 20 minutes. It does it in the middle of the night, during the morning, every time water is being added to the ice maker. Even if you push the ice maker arm into the off position, this refrigerator still makes the shaking, rattling noises. It wastes your time with tech appointments. Whats worse is Whirlpool apparently tells techs its a water line moving problem. Two techs have told me the noise is internal to the refrigerator. Each tech has called into Whirlpool for a solution, yet that expensive, disruptive unit is still sitting in my kitchen. It has also had temperature control issues. Thirty-four degrees is the coldest setting for this refrigerator. It does not always maintain this temperature on its shelves though. It also has the capacity to drop the freezer to -15 F. That wasted a good portion of my day. Waiting for techs, 4 times has wasted another 4-hour blocks I had to fit in to still be left with this disturbing refrigerator. The salesman quit working for the store I purchased it from about a month after the unit was installed. A second salesperson assured me she would contact Kitchenaid. I have heard nothing back.

Since my kitchen cabinets were installed just before the refrigerator I hope it fits.

Serviceman yesterday said the magnetron had burned holes within the machine and was not replaceable. Unbelievable! Has this product been recalled? What is wrong with this manufacturer allowing this product to be sold?

I purchased this dishwasher about 5 years old based on the BEST BUY rating from Consumer Reports. What a mistake. I have had at least 4 issues with the left side of the top rack coming off the rails or leaning which causes the dishwasher not to start. The first time it happening the dishwasher was under warranty and the service guy said that this happens often with this model. Why has KitchenAid not recalled this machine?

I build new houses and new high end rentals. We have in the past used KitchenAid Refrigerators and dishwashers and stoves. I have 20 year old KitchenAid appliance in my own house. I purchased a new refrigerator 2 years ago for a new house I was building. It lasted less than 5 months before total failure. KitchenAid eventually replaced it after I spent 8 hours on the phone. This week a 15 month old KitchenAid dishwasher stopped working. The failure rate for Bosch appliances is about 1/2 the failure rate for KitchenAid. Customer Service for the new KitchenAid sucks at best. KitchenAid is now owned by Whirlpool and cannot care less about the old customers. If you want reliability and customer service buy Bosch or Miele. If KitchenAid cannot warranty their product for both part and labor for 2 years do not buy KitchenAid. The old KitchenAid company and its products and customer service is gone.

My water line that runs inside the freezer door freezes up causing water and ice dispenser not to work. Service call and repair two weeks ago - $98.00. Now it has happened again. This KitchenAid refrigerator is not quite 3 years old. Paid extra to get water and ice inside door. I really think it should last longer than it does. Repairman said it seems as though water line is placed too close to cooling and we made need to buy a new door for $900 to fix it. This wont happen. This will be my last experience with Sears and KitchenAid.

The glass on my KitchenAid lower wall oven shattered (it was not on at the time). When I called KitchenAid they gave me the name of their local approved repair vendor. I ordered the part and paid the high price for a replacement. When the repair technician came to replace the defective part HE COULD NOT DO SO! The replacement part had not been manufactured properly. It was defective. The subject part was the outside glass pane attached to the stainless front panel. The glass was not centered and there was a 1/8 gap on one side and the other side was attached so that the part was twice as thick as it should have been. The thickness prevented the attachment screws from connecting. Obviously, Whirlpool is not familiar with the concept of quality control. The technician took the defective part back to their shop and ordered a new replacement. That part has the same defect! I am told that the vendor has tried several other suppliers and have not been able to find a non-defective replacement part.I never had trouble with replacement parts when Hobart owned KitchenAid! The Whirlpool organization negotiated the lowest price possible with their replacement parts vendor--probably in China--who gives Whirlpool their moneys worth and KitchenAid owners now suffer with the result. IT HAS BEEN SIX WEEKS and there is not a properly manufactured replacement part in sight!!!! This oven is almost twelve years old but for the price KitchenAid charges it should last one hell of a lot longer than that! Model: KEBC208KSSO, SN: XM4400465. Sadly, the approved Whirlpool vendor who is suppose to be repairing my oven door has not bothered to call me back since the first week this fiasco began.

In the Spring of 2006, I purchased 4 new KitchenAid appliances for my new gourmet kitchen. Within a month, the control panel of the slide-in oven had to be replaced. The oven stopped working a month ago. The dishwasher has been performing worse and worse every week for a year.I am tired of rewashing by hand all my gritty dishes and glasses. We rinse dishes before we put them into the machine and they come out dirtier than when they went in! Today I will spend the day taking it apart in the hope of cleaning out the guts and getting it to work. Never had to do this to any other dishwasher before. The Magnatron in the microwave had to be replaced one year ago ($125) out of pocket. Two months ago a chip in the control panel had to be replaced ($150), I should have listened to my girlfriend who said throw it out and buy a different brand. My french-door Kitchen Aid fridge has half a dozen broken plastic parts. I have never seen anything so flimsy. I have no kids man-handling my appliances, they are just poorly made.Thirty years ago I got a top quality Kitchen Aid mixer, it still works like new. That is what led me to buy Kitchen Aid everything when I did my upgrade in 2006. I had forgotten that the mixer was really made by Hobart (a really good company) What happened to Kitchen Aid? When did they start making the worst quality appliances? Or was it always this way with them?

The 3 year old refrigerator leaked water on the floor constantly. The ice maker worked sporadically and now the unit has stopped cooling. Called repairman who replaced a fan motor. Unit cooled for about a week then stopped cooling again. Called the repairman again who came and replaced the same part claiming the part was defective. Again, the unit stopped cooling after 3 days. Called Sears Appliance Repair who diagnosed the control board as having to be replaced. We ordered the control board which took a week to arrive. The Sears repairman then said he could not service the unit because Sears did not want to be responsible for future repairs that may be required. Apparently problems with this unit is well known. We are still without a working refrigerator. Going on 3 weeks now. I am giving up trying to fix it and purchasing a new unit.

When I had my brand new Superba Microwave Convection Oven installed, it did not work. The light came on and the timer counted down as if the oven was on but the microwave never turned on. The manufacturer would not replace it and I was furious. The warranty only covers repairs. It never worked from day 1. After three visits by repairmen over 7 weeks, the broken part, the appliance manager was installed and it worked temporarily. Then a few weeks later, the same thing happened. My builder was disgusted and took the oven out and gave me a brand new model (Whirlpool/KitchenAid wouldn’t). It was the same model but a brand new unit. After a few months, I had a similar problem and the repairman came out. And guess what, it’s the appliance manager again. I do not want this model back in my house. Stay away from the Steam Oven. We purchased this double wall oven which is a high-end Steam Oven on October 9, 2014. I cleaned it for the first time last week. The door does not seal between the panes. They are now streaked. There are big stains in the floor of each oven from the steam cooking. This is not able to be cleaned. I called Kitchen Aid, 800-422-1230. I was told the staining is normal. It is considered cosmetic and not covered under warranty. The doors are also cosmetic, even though I would need a repair man to disassemble the doors in order to clean them. I would not purchase this high-end item again, EVER. Although it cooks wonderfully, I want it to look clean. I am going to pull out the oven and purchase a different unit because having a double wall oven that cannot be cleaned is out of the picture in my house, as I am sure it is in yours.

Then after cleaning the oven, the glass shattered in the microwave. Heat must have risen and too hot. The oven still works, but the glass is still getting into the oven and on the floor. So disappointed. Worst fridge Ive ever had, at any price. Its runs so loud that it sounds like a machine gun. Seriously, it wakes me up. In addition, after only two years the ice maker broke. Its only got a one year warranty. I replaced it, and one year, ten days later, it started leaking, so my ice container constantly has a big block of unusable ice in it that I have to break up and throw out. Im not spending $300 annually to replace the ice maker, so I shut the thing off. Ive been making cubes in my $500 fridge/freezer thats in my garage. Kitchenaid obviously knows its an inferior ice maker, or they would warrantyit longer than one year. Its a piece of junk. Never again.

I read a post where someone said their KitchenAid fridge had finally broken down after 15 years and that it served her well. Major appliances used to last decades, and still should last that long. Think about how much you pay for them 15 years is nothing. Our fridge has a pull down bin in the door that pops open every time we open the door. Even with nothing inside, rendering the space useless. Plus, the bottom of the freezer pools with water which then turns to ice making it impossible to close the freezer door. So far I have had to unplug it and thaw it out five times. If that sounds like nothing, remember you have to put all your groceries somewhere. Tonight instead of enjoying the beautiful summer evening, I made many trips up and down the basement stairs bringing groceries back into the fridge. My oven is also a mess. The knobs get so hot that my friend burned her arm on them. I cant imagine how this passed inspection. NOT SAFE if a toddler was around. Thats okay because she was in the middle of a remodel and was considering my oven until that happened, and I filled her in on the rest. Also, the back panel on the stove is made of resin! I thought it was stainless in the store. So needless to say it is peeling. I guess that is the reason they had the stupid idea to put the smaller burners in the back and the mega burners in front. So much fun trying to reach over a large pot of boiling water to stir a small saucepan in back. Does KitchenAid have third graders designing their appliances??? Clearly not someone who has any knowledge of a cooks needs. I will never purchase anything by KitchenAid ever again. Not even a can opener.

A little less than three years, we bought a high-end KitchenAid stove at Sears in Sarnia. I cook and bake a lot. I like to use the convection oven as well. However, right from the start, the fan seemed to be kind of noisy. When, after a cleaning cycle, the door did not open, I was very upset. They came out to repair it, and the repairman suggested that I should not clean it on a long weekend. He fixed it and the very bend fan from the convection.Today, remembering the affair, I did all my baking first and did the self cleaning. Once again, the door did not open at the end of the cycle; the front panel is also not lit at all. Paying this much money for an appliance and have such a let down is intolerable. Why is there no recall of such non-functioning appliance? These stoves should be taken back. I need to call them to come out and fix it once again. I have never had such unreliable appliance in all my life and I am certainly not recommending KitchenAid to anyone.

I didnt expect them to give me a new one for free, maybe just fix this one or offer some assistance with the expense. Two microwaves in 6 years? I will find another brand next time. After using the Kitchenaid Smart Oven Plus powered attachments I found the following flaws: 1)Steamer attachment - Steam will escape and cause the oven to shut down. The only way to reset it is to let the steam completely out and turn off your circuit breaker. Kitchenaid did not design the control panel to be steam proof so you cant use this attachment without issues. They do have the ability to do this but wont respond. 2) Grill - You cannot set the attachment beyond a certain temperature so you cant grill like you can on an outside BBQ. 3) Baking Stone - It is difficult to clean if anything gets stuck on it. Again, your temperature for this attachment is limited so you cant bake a good pizza.4) The temperature is lower than indicated, especially in the lower part of the oven. When the oven reports the temperature to be ready, you need to wait an additional 15 minutes for this to take place. Calibration is a joke.

Extremely dissatisfied with the KitchenAid product, warranty and customer service. I contacted them Feb. 5th 2015 to inquire as to the procedure to resolve an issue with the door of my microwave not opening. After a considerable time of answering questions, I was told that my unit was no longer covered under warranty. We were told by C&D Appliance that we had a deadline to order or the price would go up. We explained to them that we would not need the appliances for several months as the house was under total remodel. They said no problem as they would store them until we were ready so all the appliances were ordered at the same time and stored at C&D Appliance warehouse. We get a call one day that they needed to deliver the appliances as they need more room in their warehouse so we stored them in our shop area. Little did we know at the time of purchase that the warranties started on the day we ordered them which was also the date of invoice. It cost me $660.33 to use the microwave for 21 days. I also have no warranty on the KitchenAid dishwasher, the Jenn-Air cook stove and the Jenn-Air refrigerator, all of which are product lines of the Whirlpool Corporation. Adding insult to injury, I filed a product review with KitchenAid that they REFUSED to post!

I inherited a KitchenAid dishwasher (model KUD102CRBS) when I bought my house. It appears to be a mid to high-end model. It worked fine for the first 8 months or so. Then the counterbalance system for the door (which is quite heavy) broke, and the door came crashing down. Now, the latching mechanism has failed, and the door keeps popping open. The unit doesnt do such a great job at cleaning the dishes, either. From what I have gathered, KitchenAid used to be a good brand. I have purchased smaller items with this brand name. However, given my experience with this unit, the price that the previous owners surely must have paid and the surprising number of complaints on this site, I have changed my position. Its probably not worth the cost to repair it, so I will probably replace it with a high-quality make & model as rated by its users. Unless I hear much better things about the brand in the future, I will never buy KitchenAid again.

We purchased this new model stainless dishwasher on 11/27/2010. Our 1990 Maytag had served us well, but didnt hold enough dishes, I thought. Everyone said the new dishwashers hold more dishes, but not KitchenAid KUDE60HXSSO! First, this holds less dishes and glasses than my old Maytag. Second, whoever designed the KitchenAid racks should be fired. Its like doing a puzzle to get your dishes to fit. Many dishes and glasses just dont fit - same for pots and pans. And third, silverware holders fall into silverware rack. Very cheaply designed!Dont ever buy a dishwasher with the extra rack for silverware. All dishwasher holes are the same size. Because we have this top (3rd) rack, nothing fits into our dishwasher. Its supposed to be removable, but its difficult to get in and out. Anyhow, its too big to store anywhere in our small kitchen. We have an adjustable top rack which we keep in the upper position. As a result, only saucers fit into the top rack. High glasses must be in the front or they hit the extra shelf. If we lower the top rack, our dinner plates are too tall to fit in the bottom rack. The KitchenAid racks are ridiculous. Many glasses dont fit at all, some just in the far right and far left. There is nowhere to put cocktail glasses with rims. They are too tall. We had a place for them in our old Maytag. The silverware holders fall inside the silverware holder, so that it is time-consuming to put silverware in or take it out. We wanted a replacement.Immediately, our door didnt open all the way, so that the bottom rack was tilted when opened. We complained right away to customer service and they werent interested in listening to any complaint or reporting it. They sent a serviceman who wasnt interested either. We persisted and he finally made the door open more, still not completely, but he says that is normal. The 2nd serviceman was nice, so we got him to call technical service (a customer is not allowed to speak to technical customer service!). Anyhow, they sent a new silverware rack; and of course, its just as bad a design as the first. Right away, the dishes and glasses did not get clean on pro-wash and pro-dry. I had film and lipstick on all my glasses and dirt remaining on my dishes. Immediately, I complained to customer service who were unfriendly, rude, sarcastic and insulting. They sent service who ran some stupid diagnostic that told them that the dishes were cleaning as they were supposed to. So no one cares about my dirty dishes and glasses. As long as their test is okay - customer be damned. We complained to customer service, and they said we needed service again. Our dishes were clean with the old Maytag. But for this dishwasher, we needed to buy Cascade Complete and still the dishes werent clean. I now use the single tablets and only Heavy duty, Proscrub, High Temp Scrub and sani-rinse. My dishes are cleaner. Pro-wash and Pro-dry do not clean them even though I scrape and even rinse most dishes and glasses.I hate this dishwasher because I cant fit my dishes into the racks. Ill never buy another KitchenAid appliance. The KitchenAid customer service is horrible. They could care less about any complaints. Ive complained to KitchenAid supervisors - time-consuming and unsatisfying. Now, I see that many others complain about KitchenAid. Now, we need a new refrigerator and I see all the complaints about KitchenAid. However, Whirlpool and Maytag are the same box and same company. So what do I do? Why cant they make appliances that work? Its disgraceful!

We purchased the top of the line in the KitchenAid dishwasher - KUDS301VBL3. This was the second KitchenAid dishwasher that I had owned. The first one I purchased was a workhorse. No problems, just got old and wasnt worth fixing. So I updated my kitchen and bought the new top of the line model. I am now waiting for a repairman to show up to fix the door that keeps breaking. This is the second time. There is something in the door that keeps slipping off and causes the door to slam down hard when it opened. I have a 16-month-old granddaughter who could easily pull on the door and suffer an injury if this door fell on her. I have called KitchenAid and left messages and so far have not been contacted by anyone. I had no idea that the quality of the KitchenAid appliances had hit such a low standard. This is the second time that this door thing has happened, so there must be a problem and KitchenAid needs to take responsibility and fix it before they have a lawsuit on their hands where a child has gotten hurt by this door malfunction. I am going to complain to all the consumer and product safety organizations that I can find on the internet.

Kitchenaid KUDS35FXSS type 5771 dishwasher - The top rack pins broke and the rollers fell off, making the top rack useless. Trying to find the part but unable. Re: KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDE20IXSS8, serial # F22604005. In September 2012 my wife and I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (referenced above) that can only be described as a lemon. Here are the reasons: Within a month of purchase, the drain pump needed to be replaced. Less than a year later, the touchpad and left-side top-rack support had to be replaced (the touchpad was under warranty, but not the rack support or labor). Total charge: $193.78. Eight months later the top rack had come loose again. Total charge: $182.60. Just two months after that the machine sprung a bad leak -- the motor and pump assembly had to be replaced. Total bill: $399.00. Exactly one year later the top-rack roller needs replacing. The service technicians estimate: $275.00. In less than three years of ownership, our overall repair bill adds up to $1,050.38. Thats just $71.66 short of what we originally paid for the machine, installation and sales tax included! But we have decided not to make that final repair. This machine is clearly a losing proposition. Instead, well save our money toward buying a new machine of another brand.

We purchased all new appliances for our new house about 2 years ago. After almost a year this refrigerator went downhill fast. Out of nowhere, the ice machine quit working. Then we went to the refrigerator one day and all of our food in the freezer and refrigerator had gone bad because at some point it just quit cooling. We got a KitchenAid service tech out to fix it. Turns out it was some sort of sensor that went out. The ice machine never worked like it originally did. Now, this hunk of junk is acting up again. The water/ice is not working, the control panel is not responding, and the interior lights will not come on. I wish I had gone with a different brand. I hate to replace this refrigerator because it matches all the appliances in our kitchen. This refrigerator was way too expensive to be having this many problems.

KitchenAid Aqualift model KGRS306BSS - This is by FAR the worst oven I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing. Where to begin...? The glass door has condensation build up between the outer and inner panes. The oven heat vents through the FRONT of the oven door right below the gas burner knobs which makes them hot and difficult to use when both oven and burners are in use. The gas cooktop itself has so many indentations that cleaning spills/residue is a multi-towel project by itself not to mention the materials used to make the cooktop hold on to residue like Ive never seen. Theres another oven heat vent at the rear of the cooktop below the control panel for the oven which can heat up the key pad above it. When the oven is in use for prolonged baking (think turkey), the rear right burner gets hot when not in use. If I could shout it from the rooftops I would tell the world not to buy this oven and to forget about KitchenAid all together as an appliance brand.

We purchased a rather expensive KitchenAid refrigerator-freezer, model KSF26C7XYY04, one with a computerized, electronic control system located on outside of the freezer door. What we have found is that the ice maker inexplicably quits working and then equally inexplicably starts working again---days later. Two calls to the store where the unit was purchased (Lowes) resulted in two different technicians coming out to fix the problem. The first technician replaced the computerized electronic control unit. This did not solve the problem. The second technician had no lasting success either, even confirming that the temperature control settings were at the factory recommended levels. With the problem still continuing, we phoned KitchenAid and were eventually transferred back to Lowes. The only solution offered was to have still another technician come out to fix the problem (at our expense). A return chat contact with KitchenAid produced the same results. What is disappointing is the extent to which KitchenAid refuses to accept responsibility for a design/manufacture flaw in their product and the futility of their so-called solutions. Why would anyone pay for a third technician to address the same problem when two others couldnt? Is the third technician (reportedly more of a KitchenAid authorized technician) an admission that the first two that Lowes sent out were something less than competent? Why wasnt a KitchenAid authorized technician sent out the first time? I was asked if I purchased an extended warranty. What good is an extended warranty, if the same problem cant be fixed under the first warranty period? We need better products and better solutions.

Product was 1 year old in Dec of 2014. Stopped working on Dec.31 2014 with a large party going on. Repair service came out promptly the next week. Continued to come out for the next three weeks. Have replaced just about every part in the thing and it still doesnt work. Two more items left, the main computer boards, that are on backorder. So, one month later and still no working product! Call center takes a minimum of 10 minutes to get through due to large number of calls. I wonder why!! A $1700 microwave/convection oven should last for more than a year. Kitchen Aid should have offered a replacement after the third service call as all the major parts are being replaced. Should have known products were not of high quality when the double oven needed to be replaced upon arrival.

As above, with normal use, first one, then a second and a third wheel has come off the top rack rendering the rack unable to be moved. We took it out and are using only the bottom rack. Kitchenaid dishwasher model kuds301xwh7 - This dishwasher is 23 months old. 3 of the 4 upper rack clips have broken. When I called Maytag to schedule service for 10/30, the service provider Bragdon Appliance never showed up. When I called, on 3 occasions, I left messages with no return calls made to me. I called Maytag again to be told they couldnt get them back until 11/7/14. I escalated to a supervisor, Benjamin, who told me they couldnt anyone out any sooner b/c there arent any other providers. I have scheduled service and I am going to buy the replacement part and try to fix on my own. Looking @ the racks they are highly corroded and brittle looking. We dont use high heat or heated dry. We use the silverware rack from our old GE from 7 years ago that is not as corroded nor does it feel brittle.

We purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher about 3 years ago. KUDS35FXSSO. This dishwasher had the wheels on the top rack fall apart within the first 2 years. Then just days ago, the main controller just stopped working. It looked like the controls were not getting power. So we called Whirlpool and they sent out a local company to see what was wrong. I had to pay $100 for them to tell me that the controller is known to go out and be defective. Also the internal control box was hanging by the wires, also known issue and has caused fires. I also found out the valve was not working so the top sprayers were not getting water so they were not cleaning the top dishes. The parts for these items are covered from years 2-5, but not labor. Total labor cost for all of this plus the previously mentioned cost is around $300. That is not to mention that a heating error was also found (another known issue) but not covered by the warranty. My question is if all of these are known issues, and have occurred to many people, why are these dishwashers not recalled? Or why hasnt there been a class action lawsuit! I will not have them fix this piece of garbage, just so I can pay again down the road to replace or have it fixed again.

I’ve had the cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave for three years. THREE YEARS!!! The refrigerator stopped cooling. The next day the freezer stopped freezing. We waited five weeks for the one and only repair company in our area, Guinco, to come out. Was told that a part, which was no longer under warranty $507, had malfunctioned. Waited another four weeks for the part to come in. When the part arrived they put it on and then discovered the condenser, which thankfully is under warranty, $1,000+, was no good. So now we’re having to wait another six weeks for the new condenser. Practically four months. That is totally absurd. Why they feel only one company in my state is authorized to work on these substandard appliances, I don’t know. Luckily we have an older refrigerator in the garage. My husband went out and bought a portable ice maker, also. I read on the website that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool products can last between 15-17 years. If that’s the case for the “few” products that do not last longer than three years, it should be an automatic replacement. That would be excellent customer service. Do not buy this product. Run, do not pass. Go as far away from this cheap as heck product. The product “looks” fabulous but it’s all a delusion. Again, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS CRAP PRODUCT.

Bought a KitchenAid dishwasher (Mod KUDS35FXWH8 Ser F24801339) and clips holding the top rack on its rails broke within months of purchase, causing top rack to partially or fully collapse very often. Been living with this for the past several years. Too much spent and too much hassle to replace, as Id have to break tile to replace the unit. Very disappointed. Done with KitchenAid, as if a fairly premium model uses cheap plastic that cant support a top dish rack with normal use, then I have to question the quality of the entire unit. My thinking is that if they do not have the right people, process and engineering sense to add .05 to the cost of key parts in a dishwasher that would allow it to endure at least an average life without breaking, then why should I trust that they would have skills and sense to make the rest of the unit last an average life. KitchenAid made an extra .05-.10 cents on my purchase and lost potentially hundreds or thousands of future customers as a result. Word of mouth, bad online reviews, Consumer Affairs notice... will lead to this. KitchenAid: time for a change.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator with French doors and a bottom freeze
I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator with French doors and a bottom freezer compartment for about $2,600 in July of 2013. By mid-2016, we began to experience problems with the refrigerator. There was water leaking onto the floor after water had filled the tray at the bottom of the refrigerator and had frozen. A certified KitchenAid repair person replaced the defective part. The repair person was very familiar with the problem as the company had replaced quite a number of these. KitchenAid supplied the part free of charge because of the frequency of this problem. There was a service charge of $125.00 and a labor charge of $89.00, bringing the total to $214.00. Within two months, we had another problem, this one with the ice maker. The KitchenAid recommended company sent its technician out again. This time the bill totaled $335-$125 service, $129 labor, $75 new ice maker, and $6.37 tax. We had given the service provider the exact make, model, and description of the problem. Again, they were very familiar with the problem, but sent a technician out who did not have the part on the truck! He is scheduled to return after the weekend. Frankly, after reading others reviews on this site, I have to agree that I would not buy a KitchenAid product again. Why should anybody be shelling out over $500 for parts and labor on a three year old, high end, appliance? Our last KitchenAid refrigerator, which we left at our former residence, was 17 years old and had never required service of any kind. KitchenAid is apparently not interested in providing a quality product, though were paying for one and, according to the reviews on this site, KitchenAid is not interested in providing good customer service. Im frustrated with this refrigerator, which never produced ice as well as my old KitchenAid. Im frustrated with the certified KitchenAid repair company, and Im not willing to become frustrated by contacting customer service because all these reviews have all made it clear that it would be a waste of my time.

My KitchenAid dishwasher stopped working, no power to machine, after 18 months. I had a family plumber look at it and he said the machine was getting power to all parts, but front panel must be broken. I called KitchenAid and they gave me a number of a local certified repair place and said all parts are under warranty. The repair place came in 2 days and didnt even look at the machine. The man took the front panel off and fixed it in 5 minutes by replacing the thermal cutout, he said. He said it is a common problem with this model, that this part overheats and blows out and the company knew about this but did not recall these models. He replaced it with a newer version now made to not let this happen. I feel KitchenAid should pay for the service repair since it was a part they knew was defective. I called KitchenAid customer service and they said they wont pay because there was no recall on this model. Great customer service. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again and will tell all friends and family to do the same.

I bought this KitchenAid Refrigerator in February 2017 for almost 8000 dollars. I had my first problem in April. My food was freezing in my refrigerator. When the Technician came he said that the temperature board has a defect and needs to be changed. The same problem occurred in August and after having the Technician come to my house 6 times and changed couple things I called customer service to find a solution. They said that they will send another technician for a second opinion and that he needs to call their tech line and document the problem and they will replace my refrigerator after that. When the technician came and called and told them about the food in my freezer that is showing ice flakes because of the change of temperature they told him that this was normal and I need to vacuum my food and because the reading of the temperature was zero in the freezer and 37 in my fridge everything is running normal. When I called customer service again they said that they are not technicians. They need to send another one over and when I asked what is next step they said they cant give me an answer. The temperature change on its own. Sometimes it goes to -18 in my freezer sometimes to 32 in my fridge and sometimes 55 and for them everything is running normal. I cant put any food in my fridge and I am stuck with this defected fridge because they refuse to replace it even if it is a 6 months old one. Please let me know what kind of company is this and what kind of product are they selling. Does anybody know of any way I can get this refrigerator replaced?

In 2007, I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator from Pacific Sales. The refrigerator made funny noises when it ran but I put a piece of tile on the interior metalwork and the noise went away. Seven years later in 2014, an alarm went off inside the control board indicating a problem with the evaporator cooler. As it turns out, KitchenAid or Whirlpool used substandard capacitors in their control boards leading to premature failure. Mind you, this is a $6,000 refrigerator. When I contacted KitchenAid, they informed me that the part was no longer available due to a tsunami in Japan. KitchenAid referred me to an aftermarket control board manufacturer that wanted $800 for the part. They said that they used to have the boards repaired but that was no longer an option. After following the instructions on Steve Jenkins blog, I was able to have the board repaired at Rockstar Computers in Upland, California. Total cost of the repair was $55.

Our KitchenAid oven stopped working after we used the self-cleaning feature for the first time last month. When we tried to use the oven to bake again, the oven would not heat up. We purchased our KitchenAid wall oven, model KEBC147VSS00, serial No. XW5000833 in January of 2009. We called KitchenAid customer service concerning the problem with our built-in wall oven. KitchenAid offered to sell us a one year extended warranty on our oven for $300. That would be in addition to the charge we would pay to have the oven repaired this time, which we estimate to be over $200. They did not have an answer to our question, How has the faulty KitchenAid oven part or parts been improved so as to not malfunction again and cause our oven to be inoperable each time we use the self-cleaning feature? We do not want to have a repair done that may not really fix the problem. We called Consumer Reports. They recommended that we call the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). We will file a complaint with CPCS. In our opinion, this oven should be recalled by KitchenAid.

We purchased a KUDE40 dishwasher in January of 2011 complete with stainless steel interior. The top rack glides keep popping open, letting the rack fall off. To make matters worse, the plastic wheels fell off the top adjustable rack due to the breaking of the plastic pieces that hold the wheels in place. Of course, this happened right after the year warranty was up. Luckily, I saved the service call and ordered the part online for $25 each and replaced the parts myself. Based on what I have read on other places on the internet, this is a problem for everyone and KitchenAid will do nothing about it. I will not buy another KitchenAid dishwasher and plan to tell as many people as I can not to buy one either.KitchenAid needs to listen to the public and fix this issue free of charge. If it happens to you, order the part online and carefully disassemble about 4 parts to replace the plastic piece with the wheels. A small screw driver to pop off the plastic parts was all that was needed and we used the other side as a guide to what goes where were putting it back together. Total time: about 15 minutes to replace one side. The part is the same for the right and left sides. Save yourself the service call!

I purchased a KitchenAid 42 Built-In refrigerator through Western Appliance
I purchased a KitchenAid 42 Built-In refrigerator through Western Appliances (located at 1976, W San Carlos Street, San Jose, CA 95128). Within 1 year the right door would pop open after closing. I called Western Appliance first and they said they can’t do anything and I should call KitchenAid directly. I called kitchen-aid and they sent service technician, but it didnt fix the problem. In last 1 year they have sent service technicians almost 6 times and the problem still persists. After paying $8389.31 I am using a duct tape to keep the door closed, otherwise the food will go bad.I would like to get either my money back or product exchanged for a good one. Customer service said that they have sent my compliant to Pex department, but they didn’t give me any assurance on when it would be replaced. For last 1 year I am tired of calling them, getting a service scheduled and then staying home from work for the service technician to come home. They have changed hinges, they have even changed the door, but the door still pops open within seconds after closing. Here are more details on the fridge. Our kitchen aid refrigerator is just over 5 years old and of course like clockwork, it stopped working. Weve been told that K will pay for a new compressor but the labor will cost $1050. Could that be any more exploitative? When the tech guy was here, he said the labor would be $600 and the part $400...now they changed it to look like theyre being cooperative by saying theyre paying for the compressor but the price is still outrageous because they say the labor is $1050. I offered to pay half of the labor but the answer is no, of course. Really horrible company and product....never again.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS30IXBL2 - This dishwasher was purchased in May of
Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS30IXBL2 - This dishwasher was purchased in May of 2011 by the previous owners of the home we purchased in March 2013. I started having problems in December 2014 with the dishwasher running about 10 minutes then stopping. Called Lowes who had sold the dishwasher. The previous owners had purchased a 4 year extended warranty, but Lowes wouldnt honor this because we werent the ones who bought the dishwasher. Just another rip off of getting out of honoring the warranty. Repairman came out and ran all the diagnostic codes. Came back and replaced the console. This didnt fix the problem. Called again. Still running intermittently. Sometimes completed cycle and sometimes not. He came and replaced the sensor. Meanwhile the rollers and glide holding the top rack started to break. As I see on this site, that seems to be a common problem. Called back to get repairman to come again and mentioned the rack problem and was told the company had a call back on the rack parts. So repairman came and replaced all the broken parts for the rack, ran codes again and said it might be the control. He got into the control and took off and reattached every wire and found no problems but said it might be the control. I ran the dishwasher again, and it quit after about an hour. Restarted it with no detergent in it, and it still didnt complete the cycle. Called back today and was told they could order the control, at a cost of $189. To date, I have spent $378.81 with another $200 part ordered and still have a dishwasher that doesnt work. The original dishwasher cost $773.19 so I will soon have an all redone dishwasher that may still not work. This is absolutely unforgivable. I have had about 3 dishwashers in 2 other houses in 40 years and NEVER had any of these kinds of problems. I was always led to believe Kitchen Aid was a top of the line dishwasher. This one is NOT EVEN 4 YEARS OLD and has almost cost its original purchase price! I want to see something done about this by the company. And I will NEVER, repeat NEVER purchase another Kitchen Aid product.
