Horrible service. We had a technician come to fix issues over 3 times. Everything is falling apart. (Fridge is less than 5 years old.) It makes lots of noise, ice maker freezes up, we had water leakage and the list goes on.
Sat 8/11/18 our Samsung Refrigerator was delivered. 2 1-2 days later (Tues eve) I noticed nothing was cold. Wed morn we both took off work throughout all food purchased Sat (160.00) and started calling JCP & Samsung who after many calls blamed each other. The General Mgr Besu ** (JCP) stated over and over JCP has a returned policy of 48 hours. I explained this is not a return you need to REPLACE IT. IT IS DEFECTIVE IT... DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. He advised me to call back Samsung, again we called back went thru same story and person hung up, called again they said best they can do is send a repairman. Why am I going to repair a 3 days old refrigerator? REPLACE IT. He then said, Ma I understand the food probably doesnt take good warm. I got no resolution. They do not understand. There is no food, it doesnt work at all. This is a brand new appliance that nobody will help me fix. I have a 2 yr old in the house and milk in a cooler. Please help me.
We bought the over-the-range oven, Samsung model# SMH9187ST in May 2010. In June 2011, the error code - SE - appeared on the display. Tried to unplug/restart. That worked for a couple of times. Called to Samsung customer service, that told me that nothing can be done, since the 1 year of warranty has expired, but we can pay out of pocket to get it serviced. Naturally, we refused, since it would make more financial sense to buy a new oven, than to service an old one that would get broken in another year or so. Samsung doesnt stand for its products. Its a fairly simple kitchen appliance to be broken after 1 year of use. Would be very reluctant to buy another Samsung product, again. For the past 2 years, its been used as the over-the-range night light.
Purchased Samsung fridge and had problems with ice not coming out of dispenser. For months they kept telling me to reset ice maker. Then they told me it was the ice tray. It was because the auger wasnt turning. They sent me 2 replacements. Both were the wrong size. Sent a repairman over with wrong size tray 3 times. Finally told me ice tray was no longer available then it was available then it wasnt. Found out from part dept at Samsung it will never be available. They gave me the run around for over a year just so they could prorate longer, so they could give me less money. I may accept their offer but have a feeling they will find some excuse not to honor it. Does any anyone know what is in the acceptance package? Email me at **. We should all get together and sue them. I am serious.
Donât buy the 4 door flex. Purchased 2 years ago. Paid more than we have ever paid for a Refrigerator. I was so excited because I wanted an all Refrigerator but wanted a door ice and water dispenser. This was perfect. All was great the first year, then the ice maker quit working. It was extremely difficult to open and when we did it was jammed with ice cubes and ice on the side and frozen ice on the bottom. Had to use a ice pick and hot water to clear it out. When we looked online we found many complaints regarding the same issue. Now EVERY 2 weeks it freezes up. It takes 18 hours to get ice again after I spend 30 minutes clearing and cleaning it out. The amount of ice it produces is very small. I regret this purchase. Donât buy it unless you donât need ice.
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in 2016. I have since had to manually defrost the coil and fan three times and as I am writing this, the fan is running noisily and tomorrow I will have to pull off the back panel behind the shelves and defrost it yet again with a hairdryer because this build up keeps the refrigerator from cooling. I am a disabled man living mostly on a fixed income. The refrigerator cost roughly $3000 which took me a year to pay off. I called customer service and the rep told me that he could do nothing about it. I asked to speak to his supervisor to see what recourse I had if any and was met with extreme hostility. He outright refused to resolve my issue or offer anything helpful. Samsung needs to teach its people what professional customer service looks like. I did not appreciate the condescending tone of their customer support agents. I also work for the largest home goods and building material retailer in the United States and have actively informed customers not to purchase any Samsung appliance until they improve the quality of their product and customer support. I would suggest that others provide the same service to family and friends who need to spend their hard earned money on a new appliance. Recently, we needed a new dishwasher and purchased a GE which my wife and I are very pleased with. Presently, we will never buy any Samsung product whether it be a household appliance, phone, tablet, TV or anything else. After the âconvenientâ freezer door handle, being only supported through plastic, broke off for the second time and after having manually defrosted the fan, coil, and heating element for the third time in two weeks, I bit the bullet and bought a new fridge. It seems you have to purchase the entire freezer drawer to fix one plastic piece. By the way, the Whirlpool I purchased has performed great with all the features of the Samsung for about 40% less cost. I have just finished writing a rather lengthy letter to the consumer protection agency documenting the numerous issues and failed CS conversations. I advise anyone thinking of doing the same be sure to document all calls (i.e. date, time, rep name, etc.). Take pictures with your phone of all visible issues including the rust spots your stainless probably has because of its apparent poor quality. I am hopeful someone may read this who can help...
Am happy to be accurate and fair but why isnt same required of company? I owe it to everyone to advise that the Samsung refrigerator is a very poor investment. This refrigerator purchase was part of my kitchen remodel and after just 7 months it has flooded my kitchen floor. Their response when called for service - we can be there in a week. So think twice try any other brand - I have a Kenmore in my barn purchased new 15 years ago that still works and always has - not pretty or stylish but functions.Great difficulty discussing with tel reps due to poor language skills, fairness by a company that was paid on the spot for a product only in use 7 months that does not work as intended is not waiting a 4 days for service. If I had not paid immediately, it would have never been delivered or it would have been removed from my home immediately or I would have received a court action - most likely immediately. Whats fair about that? Whats fair about a refrigerator costing $3000.00 that breaks in 7 months? Whats honest about a refrigerator that makes the promise of quality, etc., that breaks in 7 months?
I purchased this new refrig. when my old one gave out, so I was in a hurry to get one and did not do any homework as to the appliance. I went by the name alone. Big mistake. Right from the front door inside the house this thing was making noises like crazy. After 2 weeks of trying to get a repair man out, they finally replaced the fan and the ice maker. These loud banging noises, and cracking sounds, then sounds like hot water hitting cold, sizzling noises continue. All day and All night!! My dogs are barking all night thinking someone is coming into the house it is so loud, when company comes, I have to shut their door, in hopes they can sleep. I would never buy another Samsung ever!! I would like to get some sleep at night, I do have to work. I hope someone reads this and can do something about this problem, or replaces this haunted device. Thank you for reading.
The Samsung refrigerator stopped cooling and the unit is barely five years old. After reading the reviews on this site and after being told that the replacement part was going to be $300-$500 (and may not fix the problem), I will be buying a new unit! Luckily, mine came with the house I bought and not out of my own pocket.
This refrigerator was purchased late April 2015. Since purchasing this product, the upper ice maker has been faulty. It constantly freezes over and does not produce ice. Numerous occasions we have defrosted it and it remedies the problem for approximately 2 to 3 weeks. As of the last week, the refrigerator is making a very loud noise when the doors are shut. Upon doing much research, there are numerous complaints of very similar issues. The customer service reps I talked to on two separate occasions offered me no remedy to this problem other than me paying a service company $100 to come look at my refrigerator plus any cost of parts and repairs. For a $2000 refrigerator from a big brand name company, this response is unacceptable. I will never again purchased a Samsung refrigerator, as I upon doing much research, there are numerous complaints of very similar issues. The customer service reps I talk to you on two separate occasions offered me no remedy to this problem other than paying a service company $100 to come look at my refrigerator plus any cost of parts and repairs. My ref has freezing up issues that cause a lot of problems and the need to manually defrost the refrigerator often makes me not want to ever buy a Samsung refrigerator again.
Absolute horror story so far with Samsung Customer Service. New Samsung Refrigerator Model RF31FMEDBSR/AA was received and installed September 30, 2013. Worked fine until day before Thanksgiving. Freezer stopped working and all food for holiday was ruined as well as party to be held. Contacted Samsung at 1-800-726-7864 Wednesday morning and explained our problem in full. We were told we would receive a call back 24-48 hours for help. Samsung finally called back the following Monday. Samsung stated they would give us a reference number and would be assigning the repair work to USSI who, in turn, would call us back for the service work to be conducted. USSI was then supposed to contact Samsung informing them what parts would be needed to correct the condition with the refrigerator. I asked how would they know what parts to order if they did not have anyone, initially, look at the refrigerator to know exactly what the problem was. Per USSI, they would call me back when they receive the parts from Samsung. I called Samsung on December 13, 2013 asking what the status was regarding the parts as I had not received a call back from USSI. Samsung representative told me USSI received the parts on December 11th but failed to call letting us know when a technician would come to our house for repair work. On Sunday morning, December 15th, the technician called stating he would be at our house between 3:00 and 5:00 P.M. A little after 3:00 PM, he showed up and replaced two items (Evap cover, Main PCB) and then left. Next morning, the refrigerator had a lower temperature than before and the freezer was not functioning at all. December 16, 2013, I called Samsung back and was put on hold for three times after explaining my problem. The fourth time I called, I spoke with a woman (Sherry) who informed me that the repair work would be handed over to another company known as All American Appliance at 386-631-0076, who would be calling me back for an appointment. After not receiving a call from All American or Samsung, I called All American to learn my status. A woman informed me that they received information from Samsung but they were not servicing my area. I asked for their location and was told they are located in Daytona Beach, Florida. Next, I informed the woman that their location is 5 miles from my house and would be in their immediate work area. She replied that they could not send anyone out until after the end of the year - December 31, 2013. I called Samsung back and they stated they would be assigning another company but I would not know what company until I get a call back between 24-48 hours.
After only four years, the evaporator went out with this horrendous noise. Had tough time finding a Samsung repairman in my area. When I called their support line I was told to trouble shoot. In no way was this a trouble shooting matter. I was finally put in touch with a repairman who would actually work on the thing. The evaporator was changed out. The next week, the fan in the new evaporator went out. A whole new evaporator was ordered and put in. This took approximately three weeks. After another two weeks, the refrigerator was not cooling. The repairman came back and said that the unit was working, but the water line froze up. It was defrosted and the unit worked for about 2 weeks and the thing started heating up again. The temperature read 57 degrees. So, I was out a refrigerator for a total of 2 months, not counting the amount of food lost. I am joining a class action suit and getting rid of this piece of crap. Will NEVER recommend anything Samsung to anyone.
I called a Samsung-authorized repair company to fix the ice maker in my 4-door refrigerator/freezer. The ice maker kept icing over and stopping. The technician was familiar with the problem because Samsung had sent out a service notice to the effect that this ice maker was defective in many of this model refrigerator. Although this is a known defect, Samsung does not support its product if the problem becomes evident after the 1-year warranty has expired. My refrigerator is 2 years old. I have to pay $450 in parts and labor to replace the part. When I called, Samsung refused to pay even for the parts because it is not their policy to do so. Thats the last time Ill buy a Samsung appliance.
We bought a Samsung refrigerator 5 1/2 years ago and the compressor stopped working by end of April 2019. Called customer service and they promised to refund full amount as the compressor had 10 year warranty. I have been calling Samsung on my day off for past 3 months, and every time there is a different person with different story. Today they offered me a big $200 refund for a $1600 refrigerator and took 3 months for them to tell me this!!!! Samsung has the WORST customer service and do not train their people at all. I do not know whom to talk to get my money back. CAN anyone from Samsung contact me. DO NOT BUY ANY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS PLEASE.
Samsung is the WORST. Dont ever buy one, if you see someone considering samsung tell them dont. Let our voices be heard... Thank you.... Any fridge would be better than samsung.
Iâve had my fridge for about 8 years and so far have not had any major problems with the fridge. The only thing that had to be repaired was the ice maker that kept getting jammed. The fridge is a 4 door bottom freezer. It is a large capacity fridge. I have two teenage boys that eat a lot so the fridge is large enough to hold a lot of food and large freezer. I really like the large capacity since that is what I was initially looking for.
Paid $2,000 for our Samsung fridge in August 2014. Last May started hearing a very loud rattling noise, ice was crushed most of the time too. Had technician out to the house 3 times to be told all normal! I will never ever buy from Samsung again! BUYER BEWARE!!!!
Microwave just over 2 years old model SMH8165ST. I got the SEcode. I took it apart, cleaned all the terminals. Now the touch pad doesnt work. I called Samsung, got a guy on the phone, who was very bad with English. I tried to explain the problem to him. He couldnt understand me. Im very frustrated. I seen all these negative reviews on the Samsung microwaves. The bottom line is Samsung microwaves are JUNK!!!!
We purchased a Samsung Black Stainless, 4 door flex zone fridge. After being ordered it arrived May 27, 2016 for a new home that was being built. It was installed July 4, 2016 which was when we moved in and started using it. By August 2017, the ice maker completely malfunctioned. We had frozen solid icebergs all around the ice maker, no ice in the ice cube tray. Looked up troubleshooting in the manual, cleared all the built up icebergs and it worked for about 2 days before it completely froze up again. After trying for a couple of weeks we called a repair person which cost $80 for him to come to look at and possibly repair ice maker. He indicated that the ice maker needed to be replaced. In September we called Samsung support, they told us we had to call a Samsung approved repair person and provided us with a name of the company they approved and then I was told I be referring to the troubleshooting area in the manual in the future before contacting support (apparently if you feel you need support you shouldnât call them). Anyway, called the approved repair company and they came out and said ice maker probably needed to be replaced but tried to seal the ice maker with weather stripping to see if it might have been warm air coming from the fridge that was causing the ice maker to malfunction. That didnât work, again, within 2 days, everything was surrounded by frozen icebergs again so the repair people said they would contact Samsung to get parts to replace the defective ice maker. They also indicated that Samsung had admitted there was a design flaw in their icemakers that was causing them to fail. This repair company came on Nov. 15, 2017. It took 3 months for the parts to come in after according the repair company said they âhad a struggle with Samsungâ. They arrived on Feb. 14 with the parts and repaired the ice maker and handed us a bill for $614.00!!!! The defective ice maker has now cost us a total of $850.00!!! We had no forewarning from the repair company that it was going to cost this much. They had told us in Nov. that it wouldnât be more than $300 so we were completely blindsided. We never would have agreed to have the ice maker repaired if we had known we were going to be charged another $614.00. I was very upset so contacted Samsung customer service. They asked for a copy of the receipt for the service, a copy of the receipt for the fridge, serial number, etc. I asked them to be reimbursed for the cost of the parts which was almost $500 of the $614 bill. Samsung responded back saying the fridge was past warranty and they would not reimburse me for anything. The fridge lasted 13 months, just long enough for Samsung to clear the warranty period and not have to take responsibility for their admittedly defective product. It appears it is reasonable to them that their fridges last for only a year before major malfunctions and repairs are required. Samsung in my opinion provides inferior, knowingly defective products and does not stand behind their products. Their customer service is poor and I will never, ever buy anything Samsung again. I would also like to add that I told Samsung customer service that we had purchased the fridge, gas range, washer and dryer. So we had been a good customer, purchasing several of their higher end products. They couldnât care less. I would tell anyone considering Samsung anything to run as fast as they can in the other direction, stay away from Samsung at all costs. They are a company that supplies an inferior product, poor customer service and takes advantage of their customers by selling admittedly defective products, and then charging exorbitant prices for parts to repair them. Please warn people about how horrible this company is and to stay away from their products. We should not have had to pay $850.00 to repair a virtually brand new higher end refrigerator.
Never have any ice! Ice maker very slow! Difficult removing vegetable and fruit drawers to clean underneath. Nice to the eye but freezer on bottom and lacking storage space. Does not get cold enough to prevent deli meats from spoiling within 3-4 days!
We purchased this dishwasher at Lowes in July 2012. Earlier this year it stopped running and gave an 5E code. We looked it up in our manual and it said drain error. We checked everything and could not clear the code. We tried the cancel & drain to no avail. We ended up pulling everything out and scooping all the water out. We had a plumber come over and he checked all the drains/hoses etc. and found nothing. He then called Samsung and told them he thought it was the electrical panel and they would not tell him anything since he was not an authorize Samsung repair person. Unfortunately around this time my mom went into hospice care so hand washing dishes was going to have to suffice. My mother passed away in the summer. By late August I started contacting Samsung to get an authorized service person to come out. What a nightmare. I had to call a couple of times to get someone on the phone who would even help me. They will not give you the local persons number. I was finally given a ticket number and a phone number to call for Service Quick. This was a long distance call for me. They then said they would have a local person call with a quote and set up an appointment. So finally 6 days later I got a voice message. I returned the call now at least 4 times (another long distance number) which nobody answers the phone. It does not say the company name or anything, just a standard automated at the beep please leave a message. In the meantime I went in the phone book and called a local appliance repair person. They took the whole thing apart and told me it looked like the pump was out and possibly the electrical panel and that it looked like the parts would be about $350. That is half of what this thing cost! They suggested I just buy a new dishwasher. That in their experience the Samsung are a lot of trouble and expensive to repair. They were very nice and only charged me for a short service call. I am very frustrated. Every time I talked to a Samsung person I was asked did you purchase the extended warranty?. That is ridiculous! A dishwasher should not need an extended warranty for something not even two years old! It is now September 9th and I Still have not spoken to anyone on the repair side! I dont have money lying around to just literally throw down the drain on new appliances. But I think that is what is going to happen. I will Never buy a Samsung appliance again!
We purchased a $2,172.96 Samsung French Door Refrigerator, model number RF4287HARS in January 2014 from Best Buy. From the beginning, when the cooling motor came on it was noisy and irritating. The ice maker was very noisy. The clincher was after 16 months, the molding on the door split and tore. We have owned multiple lesser expensive Refrigerators but never had the molding rip. We contacted Best Buy who referred us to Pacific Sales who sells in the Best Buy store. They wanted $200 to replace the molding stating that there was a 1 year warranty on parts. Contacted Samsung who was cold and clinical verifying that we only had a one year warranty. Would never buy another Samsung refrigerator. This one was a top of the line unit and we want to warn others.
Terrible, terrible. We purchased this but we didnt install or use it for 12 months. From the initial washing it didnt drain - left nasty water in the bottom of the tub. (Called Lowes/Samsung but we missed the grace period by 2 days.) Had a repairman out twice but he cant fix it. Now Im finding that based on this terrible specimen, do not buy any Samsung dishwasher.
We have the same problem that a lot of the consumers had. Our fridge makes this grinding sound that just kept getting louder to the point where it would freak out my dog. We shut it off to defrost whatever ice was built up on the fan and when I yanked the bottom drawer (which by the way is always stuck by the ice built up) a sheet of ice about an inch thick fell on my foot causing a gash on it. Luckily my little Yorkie jumped out of the way otherwise shed be dead. So please be careful when defrosting the damn fridge.
I purchased a side by side Samsung Refrigerator (RS263TD) in 2014. It began freezing at the bottom in 2017 and I had it serviced for $200 replaced the cooling panel. Now in early 2018, the problem is back. The service company guarantees their service for 1 year if there are problems with the unit; it was not charge. I have now reviewed the consumer complaints related to Samsung refrigerators -- they are all the same. What about a recall on the products. This product was a replacement for my GE (21 years of use). I will never purchase another Samsung product. GE only.
My icemaker failed a month ago and I have only encountered more issues. After the first few service calls, the repair center fixed the icemaker; however, now the fridge compartment freezes everything. Samsung now wants a sixth service appointment to look into the issue deeper. Samsung warranty support has been a nightmare and I have made no progress with the Executive Relations Team. Additionally, I completed an online forum regarding my experience and nobody has followed up. I cannot afford to take any additional time off work to be present for service calls and need a working fridge. The lack of follow-up and ownership of my issue is concerning. I am very quickly becoming a detractor and am having difficulty finding anything good to say in my product reviews.
After less than two years with very little use, the microwave started beeping and giving error code SE. I tried all suggestion of unplugging, disconnecting wiring, etc. but still have defective unit. Obvious defective unit needing warranty recall! I started looking for a replacement but you can bet it will not be a Samsung.
Samsung French Door Model RF4287HARS/XAA - In April 2013, we bought our $3,000 Samsung fridge. On June 29th, 2013, I called to report a problem that we couldnt activate the electronic circuit board. We couldnt switch from cubed to crushed ice. On 18 Jul 13 the complete fridge failed. Today is 25 Jul 13 and its still not fixed. Thats after over 5 calls to Samsung and the same to the local retailer. We were traveling so all the food was lost and what amazes me is the cavalier response from Samsung always apologizing and promising to have someone else to call but having no one to fix it. This is the worst customer support Ive ever experienced by a long shot.
Purchased all new Samsung appliances for our kitchen. The Refrigerator failed within a less than a year. The dishwasher failed within a year and now has failed again. The response and service is very poor - that is saying kindly. I will not purchase another Samsung product ever again in my lifetime and will be telling as many other people to do the same. Canada should not allow any company to sell products to consumers in Canada who are not willing to have an office within Canada to assist those consumers. Shame on Samsung and all who work for this company. Should have bought from Sears, not Future shop. They are just as bad, or worse than Samsung because they are absolutely no help to anyone, unless you purchase insurance through them and then they pass it off on the insurance claims. The government is also not doing a very good job of protecting consumers from this sort of thing. I have read so many other stories from people who are facing the same troubles with Samsung products. Never again.
We have been without a Dishwasher for 5 weeks!!!! First Company said the Drain hose was too long there 15 minutes and left. Never pulled Dishwasher out from Cabinet. 2nd Company came out found a bad hose on Dishwasher that was a Samsung Part. Dishwasher is only 6 months old & hose has a hole in it. Took a week to get parts and had to raise the roof for Service or it would have been another week for repair. Been on the phone with Samsung so much and took off work until I could have bought another Dishwasher!!!!
I purchased a Samsung microwave SMH1611B at the Lowes in Douglasville, Georgia in Sept. 2012, paid $167 (sale) for the beautiful merchandise. I brought it home and in Oct. 2012, the microwave began to make a loud noise. As the timer decreased, the noise became louder. I contacted Lowes. They sent out service people to make the repairs, had to replace the transformer. All worked well until Dec. 2012. The microwave started doing the same thing except the noise wasnt as loud so again, I called Lowes. Appointment was set up and the repair man came again but, this time, after explaining to them that it was doing the same thing, they came without the transformer and had to reschedule and they came back on this past Monday in Jan. 2013 to replace the transformer. Today is Wednesday, January15. Now there is no noise today. Its not heating. Must I say how disappointed I am with this microwave? You have to have 3 service calls and the technicians have to tell you that the microwave is no good for them to give you another microwave. This doesnt make any sense. I should have taken the microwave back and got my money back. I will never purchase another Samsung microwave as long as I live. It is, however, still under warranty being that I just purchased it in Sept. 2012 and its now Jan. 2012.
I just moved into a new house late last year and it had a fairly new Samsung Over-the-Range Microwave Oven installed. This was working fine for the last few months until one day, it started giving us an SE error on the display and none of the other buttons would work. Initially, this would go off on its own but would then come back and until one day, it came back and just wouldnt go off. We browsed the internet and found that there was a whole sea of people that have reported this issue and turns out that it is a quite common problem. The microwave has just passed its warranty and Samsung now expects us to pay for the service and parts if they fix it. Considering this is a common problem faced by so many people, I think they should do a recall and get these fixed for everyone. The model I have is SMH9207ST. I would not recommend anyone buying these Over-the-Range microwaves from Samsung.
My oven (NE595ROABSR) quit heating and it took over an hour to come up to temp. Read all the reviews here and decided to check the broiler which I dont use much, that does not work either. I am waiting on repair man but after reading all the reviews I assume mine will go in JUNK Pile after diagnosis due to all that will have to be replaced. I dont believe in investing more money if it is expensive to repair. I do use the self clean oven and that may have burnt out the modules/sensors. I will NOT Buy another Samsung stove. I also called SAMSUNG and they will not take accountability.
I have Samsung side-by-side refrigerator model RS267LASH/XAA bought in March 4th, 2006. A few days ago, its fridge side stopped cooling and all the food inside went bad. Now the fan on the fridge side is noisy. The noise stops as soon as I open the fridge side door. There is no cooling on the fridge side. When I investigated this issue, it seems like this is a very common issue with Samsung refrigerators. This is a just a six years old refrigerator and I always clean it every month. Never in my life had I any problems with the refrigerators I used. I have found out that Samsung people know about this problem, but they wont fix it. I have to pay for it as the warranty is over.
Microwave 5e error code - Will never purchase another Samsung product again! Problems with both refrigerator and microwave after only a few years.
We spent a lot of money for this and it hasnt been what we hoped. Removing the protective film was difficult. There are still small pieces of it wedged in various places after three years. The material at the base of the cup holder scuffed within the first month from merely placing a cup to get water. I have been unable to find anything to cover the scuff so that area looks permanently nasty. No children are in this house so it wasnt rough handling that caused the scuffing. The frost free freezer is not. Ice feathers had grown to where I had to unpack everything, wipe it off with towels, allow the freezer to thaw and remove all ice and water and then repack. At that time, I cleaned all of the seals. For three weeks, the freezer was fine, and now it is as bad as it was before with ice feathers. Whenever I remove something from the freezer, ice chunks fall on the floor. I guess I will have to defrost the frost free freezer again.
I purchased a NEW Samsung dishwasher DW8OJ 302045-AC from a clearance centre on July 4/15. I had it installed, July 12th. By July 25th, it would not operate. July 29th I reported it to the Samsung service centre. It was transferred to a local appliance centre who ordered parts, and Sept. 7th, two electronic panels were replaced. It created a new problem. Now Samsung wants me to disconnect it, and they will pick it up, and after 2-3 weeks refund my money. They acknowledge that their product is defective but refuse to replace it or compensate me for the installation or disconnection or inconvenience.By the time I receive my refund, I will have owned this inferior product for almost 4 months and used it only 5 times. Never buy a Samsung dishwasher - this is not an isolated incident. Read the other negative reviews. The Samsung service department is located in eastern Canada. You can e-mail but good luck reaching them in the afternoons. QUALITY CONTROL AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION ARE NOT IMPORTANT TO SAMSUNG!
Unless you enjoy taking your fridge apart for a couple days on a routine basis to remove a back inner panel, defrost the inner workings, and then it all back together again, I do not recommend this product. Weve taken it apart at least six times in the last three years. It is poorly designed. There is a clip that is supposed to help keep an evaporator drain defrosted, but it is too short. The drain freezes up, the ice backs up, goes all throughout the cooling coils, up into the wires and fan--all frozen into one solid block. I finally found a replacement clip that is longer. It is supposed to be here tomorrow--until then I have the fridge. This problem is well documented throughout the internet and this should be fixed by warranty. Its ridiculous and has soured me on Samsung entirely.
I bought a Samsung Refrigerator in June 2012. The ice maker never worked right and I just replaced it in June and this one doesnt work right either. Its always out of ice and Im the only person using it. The Refrigerator got stuck in the cooling off setting last night and I lost everything in the freezer. The Refrigerator side freezes everything on the warmest setting. Im replacing the Refrigerator in December and I will not be buying a Samsung.
Bought 4 appliance package from Costco. All are good except for the range. Could not be worse. When it heats on high (say to boil pot of water), to turn down you have to go all the way to low and then come back up to where you want. Had repairmen out for the second time today. They agreed itâs weird and contacted designers who said THATS THE WAY THEY DESIGNED IT. Are you KIDDING??? They obviously donât cook and donât test these things themselves. Iâve had at least 25 stoves in my lifetime. Four of them glass top. And with NONE of them did I either have knobs that didnât immediately respond when turned up or down (mine take up to 39 seconds to respond!!!), or did I have to nearly turn off and restart over to choose a new heat setting. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG RANGE!!!!!!
Updated on 08/02/2018: It has continually built up of ice, under the ice maker every 5/6 weeks. Have notice partially melted ice in the storage bucket, in which it jams the ice dispenser. Either I use a hair dryer to defrost or chip the sheet of ice off the ice maker. To free the ice out of the ice maker bucket I run warm water through it. Have updated the motherboard, and replaced the ice maker twice. With one new revision, that has a physical square rectangle water intake housing. None of these parts fixed my problems!Original review: I have a Samsung Refrigerator model RF263BEAESRAA purchased on 6/13. Ice seems to build up on bottom of ice maker & also around ice dispenser rod to the point in which itll freeze solid & will no longer dispense ice. Every week Im having to dump out semi-melted ice out of the ice jammed dispenser & ice thats build up thats located under the ice maker. Having replaced ice maker, motherboard, auger motor & fan assembly. Its still doing the same thing as far as ice building up.
Broke down less than two years old. Itâs defective and company knows it. Refrigerator doesnât keep safe temperature. Back panel freezes up and fan cannot turn. There are numerous complaints about this refrigerator all over Facebook. Costs thousands of dollars and stops working.
Bought this RF261 French door/bottom drawer fridge and dishwasher in same style in Sept 2012. Within a month or so we found accumulated water in the drip pan under at the bottom of the fridge. Now the ice maker has failed and consumer service fix (reset button) did not work. Dishwasher does not clean well even with pre-rinse and accumulates sludge under door. No more Samsung products for me!Updated on 12/28/2015: We found only two appliance technicians in our area who would work on a Samsung; one had to come 70 mi. one-way, and the other was Sears. The Sears technician quoted a price of nearly $900 to repair these two problems. We also bought a matching Samsung dishwasher, and although it works, it doesnt clean well, and the door gasket collects food debris and stinks. Since both are out of the warranty period, Samsung wont do anything. I will, though: Ill never buy a Samsung product again.
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator from Croma, Bangalore on 17/10/2014. Model number FF253LRT27HAJMASE. In June I noticed that some food particles in the plastic grid in freezer. My shock I found that the plastic grid is lined with Thermocol, obviously it cannot be cleaned properly because Thermocol is a porous material and particles got embedded in the same. My grievance is - why make a grid in the base of freezer compartment which cannot be cleaned by the user? Secondly, why use Thermocol embedded in the grid so it impossible to clean and subsequently it will develop fungus. The design is absolutely defective. In the door of the fridge, there are only two and a quarter racks, why like normal fridges 3 or 4 racks have not been provided?
Nice to look at, but difficult to keep clean. Shows streaks. It is pretty much problem free and we enjoy water and ice in the door. I love freezer on the bottom.
There arent enough characters allowed to explain why I would never buy anything Samsung ever again! The latest in a long nightmare of disgust (after the Blu-ray player that scratched circles in our discs and ruined them), is the fridge (RFG297HDRS) that decided to turn itself into a waterfall water feature in our kitchen overnight. Water was streaming rapidly from the ice maker exactly 15 months after purchase. Fortunately (well, maybe not) we got a store extended warranty because, Samsung itself told us good luck and Godspeed. The authorized Samsung repair people from the warranty company changed the ice maker and left. Two hours later and after business hours, the thing started leaking again (not as bad, but pretty bad once it started). Unrelated to Samsung, the morons at Warrantech wont let you put in a new call for service for 24 hours. Insult added to the injury of this regrettable purchase (all electronics and appliances in our new home are Samsung - I loved their monitors from 10 years ago, but that was when they were scrappy upstarts, not bloated Chinese wannabes), lesson learned. My advice is, avoid these and any store-branded warranty, since youll need it and both are total trash!
My extended family has 3 Samsung fridges - 2x RL67 and one RL62. After approximately 16 months, two of them developed noise. The noise stopped each time the fridge door was opened. The problem was with the coil in the cooler - it had iced over. I called a technician for our fridge (RL62), and he repaired the problem. He offered me insurance for three years at a cost of $360. I refused, then he offered me insurance for one year for $200 (the cost of the repair). After Googling the type of fridge problem, I discovered that there is a serious problem with Samsung fridges. It appears that there is every chance that the problem in my fridge will return in several months!
Purchased dishwasher Jan 2019. Samsung not installed till March 2019. Used maybe once a week. 2 people in household and now will not shut down. So maybe used 100 times. Circuit breaker has to be turned off till repairman gets here in 5 days so no power to certain places in house. Paid 500+ for dishwasher. Very disappointed in product and the situation I have been put in because of this. Never again purchase their products.
Turned the oven on this evening. It wouldnt heat past 150. There appears to be no sound coming from the fan. I cant believe that a Samsung appliance would stop working this quickly. Called Samsung and they said Out of warranty. So sorry youre screwed. I absolutely will never buy another Samsung Appliance again.
I bought this expensive Samsung 4 door refrigerator from Sears in 2012. The ice maker is the worse. Within 3 month it stopped making ice. Sears came to repair. This replaced the ice maker. It started working 2 month later stopped. Replaced all mechanism starts working again. 8 months later stopped again, replaced again 3rd time. 1 year later out of warranty. Called Samsung. They refused to do anything about it. Called local appliance dealer, had it replaced $595. Broke again within in 2 months. I looked up this refrigerator and not only this one, but other Samsung units have had many problems with the ice maker and Samsung is doing nothing about it. I would not buy this refrigerator or any Samsung if I was you. It was a $4,000 cost with no ice. They have terrible products.
Our Samsung DMR77LHW model that we purchased as part of a kitchen renovation some 5 years ago has been a source of frustration for the last 4 years. We had it repaired twice under an extended warranty (thank God!!); the first time just a year after purchase (replaced circuit board) and then again this past winter (entire top rack, door gasket, top rotary washing arm). Between those 2 service calls (and continuing to this day), nothing but poor performance and failing parts: Brittle and broken rack clips, recurring SE error (and now a PE code yesterday!) during normal cycle, cleaned dishes and glasses with odd food particles caked on, very wet items after the drying cycle, etc. We will be replacing this piece of cr*p in the next month because we have endured it long enough. Shame on Samsung for STILL producing such low quality products 5 years after we bought our own. I thought that this manufacturer would improve its appliances based on all this consumer feedback, but apparently Samsung doesnt care about that. So, junk products + poor customer service experience = a company to boycott. Bye bye Samsung. You have lost another client. Not just for dishwashers, but your ENTIRE line of products, I.e., Mobile Devices, TV & Audio, Cameras & Camcorders, PC monitors & Printers, Home Appliances, and Memory/Storage (as per your products list at Samsung.com). You will not get my business again!
In November of 2015 we purchased a Samsung refrigerator French door BLK SS unit model number RF263BEAESG. In June of 2017 we started having trouble with the ice maker not working, and frosting up. On June 30th 2017 I contacted Samsung and they put a online service request ticket in for me. They told me I would be notified within 3 business days of when someone could come and repair the refrigerator. On July 10th I received another email from Samsung support and it said that my ticket had been cancelled the email read as follows your repair for service ticket has been cancelled. If you need service please contact us and it gave the phone number 1 800 Samsung. Thank you for your cooperation. Since then I tried to find someone in the local area that could come out and look at and or repair the unit. After several phone calls I was able to find someone that works on Samsung appliances. On July 18th a service tech came to my house and told me I had three issues the ice maker was going bad the fan in the freezer was going bad and at this point it was making a horrendous noise and then the fan in the refrigerator in the back that whole unit needed to be replaced. The total cost for these repairs are going to be about $800. At this point I have a really tough decision to make do I dump an additional $800 into this refrigerator and hope that it lasts, or do I bite the bullet and buy another refrigerator from a different manufacturer. I have responded to the emails from Samsung support I have gotten no further response from them. I do intend to let them know what is wrong with the refrigerator and what it is going to cost to repair it. While I understand it is out of warranty, it is not even 2 years old yet and should not be having these major issues.I will never buy another Samsung Appliance and I would never recommend to anyone that I know to buy one whether they are family friend or Foe. This has been such a disappointing experience for me. I can only hope that some attorney somewhere reads all of these complaints and puts together a class action lawsuit against Samsung. Someone needs to hold them accountable for making a product of such poor quality. People buy for the Samsung name because their Electronics have always been number one in the market. Their total lack of customer support has me wondering if I should even keep my Samsung smartphone. I find it hard to support a company that will not support its customers.
Stupid box keeps freezing. Suspect a bad evaporator. Have to constantly break out the ice from the refrigerator section. Online support was useless telling me to tilt the refrigerator 2 degrees. Wont buy one like this again.
Purchased the Samsung Showcase fridge October 11, 2014. It stopped working Saturday November 15, 2014. Paid $3323.11 for it. CONNS WILL NOT REPLACE OR REFUND. What they can do is add me to a list, that I will receive a call to schedule an appointment to have a repairman inspect and fix fridge. I should receive a call Thursday November 20....My fridge is about 35 days old, not 1 or 2 years...
I have had nothing but problems with the ice maker since I bought the refrigerator in 2014. Its less than three years old and have had it serviced four times and it still is not working. Samsung is not doing anything about it. In fact they made me pay 150.00 for labor to have it fixed and its still not working. No ice.
In September 2009, I purchased the whole 9 yards of Samsung. I purchased the microwave over the oven, the oven, the dishwasher and the refrigerator - costing me a total of $6000... Last year, I replaced the microwave, and I learned my lesson and purchased the extended warranty. The only OTHER issue I had which is MAJOR and a reason for me to probably bring my business elsewhere, as I will never say never buy Samsung again, is my refrigerator RF266ABRS, 26 cu ft stainless steel French door with the bottom freezer. The first problem I had with the freezer was within the first year I had purchased it - the ice maker was not making ice into cubes but into chunks. They had the technician fix it in no time. Then in March 2013, the freezer was giving us a negative reading of -2; however, when I unplugged the freezer and plugged it back in, it then said 34 degrees. No wonder all my food thawed out and ice was melted. So we called. Samsung said if itâs a sealed system issue, then it will be covered. They set up a transaction number with Va Electronics, who called me and said I had to pay $125 for diagnostics. After kicking my feet, I finally paid, as they could care less. I spoke with the technician as he stated, there is a slow leak causing only my fridge to be cool but not enough to cool the freezer. I asked if the leak should happen again. He said it shouldnt for another 3 years, so okay...I went about my business for 95 days until I opened the freezer to notice all the food had thawed out again!!! So I called Samsung. You name it. Iâve spoken with them, from Krishonda, Boris to Allison. You name it. Iâve spoken to them and every department. Yes, they gave me the roundabout... Hahaha... I was beyond frustrated; I was in tears and handed the phone off to my husband and told him to speak with them. As I was going back and forth with Samsung and Va Electronics, both saying two completely different things and saying, well, ask Samsung and ask Va Electronics... Eventually, someone needs to own up to this defective product that we, as consumers, are initially paying anywhere from $1900 to $3000 to begin with. It makes you think twice when it is time to purchase a new one. Overall, the experience I am dealing with Samsung and Va electronics is leaving a bad taste in my mouth, but it makes me grateful to know that, compared to their customer service, I am like a GOD at what I do. Thanks for doing a bad job. :)
We purchased a Samsung side by side refrigerator from hhgregg in September 2015. In July, 2016, the refrigerator stopped cooling. The fan was replaced under warranty. The total time from first call to completion was 11 days. Freezer worked fine throughout. September 13, 2016, same problem. After two days we called Samsung service again since we had not heard from the repair service. We were told that they didnt have a service person available and would continue to try to find one. hhgregg has been unable/unwilling to provide service. Their attempt to put us in touch with a service company led to being returned to the Samsung service queue. I would give both Samsung and hhgregg 0 stars if I could.
I paid for the top of the line Samsung refrigerator mostly cause I like the style of it and I tend to pay more for products based on what type of insurance the product is well built. I spent $5,000 for my Samsung refrigerator. May it be a cultural difference I really dont care. Were in America and we have high standards with our products. Our refrigerator ice maker gave us problems almost day one. After 3 attempts to repair the ice maker I contacted Samsung and over a course of several months it was unbelievable to have to call the number that only answers the phone for 2 hours a day and if youre not first in line you will not have an answer to your ring. If you try to call back it goes to busy. Based on my persistence and anger I made sure I was first in line. Then they make me jump through hoops knowing they sent repair guys who have designated my refrigerator ice maker unrepairable. So getting the information they wanted not that I would have to actually call back. They had an email address I could send the information but would not reply to my email which forced me to have to call back to this line that is only open for a couple hours per day! All I got was, Sorry sir thats just our policy!Again through my persistence I did get the check minus the shipping minus the time it took for all 3 repairs for me to take off of work minus the continued frustration and time aggravation to contact them over and over! On top of this it even gets worse. They wanted a picture of the power cord cut. This is to assure them I wont throw it in the garage and use it there! I am not writing for failed ice maker. I am writing for the arrogance of a company to have policies set against the consumer and America needs to know it!
I too bought the French Doors Samsung refrigerator. Five ice maker repairs, water in floor, 80 degrees in fridge side and the clicking of the fan as it starts hitting ice buildup and then dies a painful death. This refrigerator is truly junk and is not inexpensive. I have had it four years and as I type this it is not working. Tech suppose to come Tuesday the 14th of August. Repair if able to be repaired will only last short while. To say the least I am give up fooling with this expensive piece of junk and will never buy another Samsung fridge.
We have had this fridge for less than 3 years, as early as 6 months from when we bought it the ice maker would stop working and the fan would get loud, after having a service tech out he said it was a common issue with these as they constantly do this, so I went on line and found numerous people with the french door and ice maker combo have the same issue--Seems like a design flaw, but Samsung doesnt seem to do anything about it. So usually once every 6-8 months I would have to dump the entire fridge/freezer (we keep an old fridge in the basement essentially to allow for this) and unplug the fridge and allow it to thaw out overnight, then I remove the back panel of the fridge (inside) and thaw the cooling unit out with a hair dryer, re-assemble it and we are good to go.The last year we seem to be needing to do this every 2-3 months, I had to do it tonight after 5 weeks--This is ridiculous. My wife said, Wow you are getting really fast at taking this apart and thawing out the cooling unit--While this was meant as a compliment, its kind of crazy that I need to become fast or good at thawing out the fridge--The one in the basement thats 15 years old I never have to touch--The thing is we own a Kitchen cabinet business and we always have to recommend appliances to clients, guess what we DO NOT recommend to them, 1) samsung appliances in general (just replaces 4 year old samsung washer/dryer set) (2) fridges with ice makers. So please do your self a favour and do not buy this fridge. Samsung needs to stop making the RF25HMEDBSR OR ANY UNIT SIMILAR AS ITS A PIECE OF JUNK.
We have had the Samsung dishwasher about 4 years and this is the 4th time we have had the same trouble. The machine comes on and then you can hear the water going to the washer and then you hear it pumping out. Then the lights come on indicating low water level. According to the owner manual the first it happen it was still in warranty. The repairman came out and replaces a sensor box on the side of the washer. The second time it happen about a year later my husband took the sensor box off and replaced it. It wasnt under warranty. We cant afford to call the repairman. The last time I took everything from the washer and ran a couple cups of vinegar through a cycle and it has worked fine until this time I tried to run the washer again with vinegar but it didnt work. I will never get another Samsung appliance again. We also have a refrigerator that has some problems but thank the Good Lord it still works. The model # for the dishwasher is DMT 400RHSAAX. SN is A3JAG9MZ A03217D. We bought the dishwasher at Sears in Shelby NC.
Purchased a Samsung washer, dryer and refrigerator approx. 1 month ago. On 9-29 fridge and freezer stopped working while at work, thawed out and spoiled food. Fridge and freezer will not cool. Washer is also now listed as defective due to safety hazard. Frequent phone calls to Samsung has resulted in no resolution to this issue. I am constantly being told I have to wait 24-48 hours to hear from different departments. Today, I was told I have to wait another 24-48 hours to hear from someone in Refunds and Exchanges via telephone. I asked to contact them directly but was told they have no phone number because they are a back office department. I expressed my displeasure and asked for my call to be elevated past Executive Customer Relations and was told thats not possible, they are the highest level of customer service.I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told I would have to be put on an list and someone would contact me back in 24-48 hours. 2 days to speak to a supervisor? I was informed that if an exchange of the refrigerator is decided on, it would be another 15 days for delivery. This is totally unacceptable. Not only the frequent waiting for 24-48 hours to be contacted by Samsung but I was denied the opportunity to speak to a higher level of customer service. On the day I purchased these major appliances I spent $3000 total and now 2 out of the 3 appliances are defective. I am unhappy with the customer service I have received up to this point. They are not receptive to the issues. The time frame that Samsung is putting me on is unacceptable. It shouldnt take 48 hours to make a decision for a customer that has invested thousands of dollars in Samsung. In the meantime, I have a dead $3000 refrigerator in my kitchen with no resolution and nowhere to turn as far as customer service. This was my BBB complaint. After filing a BBB complaint, I was contacted by a rep from the Office of President. She acknowledged my current problem with the refrigerator. She explained that she will now be handling my case and I can contact her directly. She explained she is still waiting to see the result of my issue from the refunds and exchange office and she will contact me the next day. The next day arrived and I had to call them to find out the results. I was told the request to exchange the fridge was kicked back (declined) because there are no service programs in the area. I am now stuck with a refund.I expressed my concern for this due to the fact that I purchased the fridge on sale, and its listed on Samsungs website for $2999. I paid approx $1800 and will be losing the value of the fridge by receiving a refund. After back and forth explanations, she explained how I would be receiving a call from the refunds and exchange office... in another 24-48 hours. Today is October 6th. She said I would be receiving a call either tomorrow or Monday the 10th of October. The refunds and exchange office has already seen my case several times and even took action on it, why do they need another 48 hours to review it? So we head into the weekend once again with definitive solution. When I hear from them on Monday, how many more phone calls will need to be waited for and how long till I actually see the refund? Once again I was told there is no higher level of CS, shes following procedures and protocols and there is no way she can expedite the call from refunds and exchanges. After expressing my overwhelming dissatisfaction with Samsung, its customer service and its policies and procedures I inquired how does Samsung go about getting the defective fridge from me. She informed that I am responsible for disposal of the fridge and will not be reimbursed for any money spent from doing so.Once again, this is totally unacceptable customer service from a company of this magnitude. There is no difference between what a standard CS rep can accomplish and what rep from the Office of the President can accomplish. I still wish to pursue my complaint and speak to someone higher in this company. Customers should not be treated like this. I will no longer be doing business with Samsung and will advise friends and family of my experience as well.
Purchased: August 2015. Samsung side by side with dual cooling, ice maker, high end. Best Buy is promoting these with a vengeance. Within two months of purchase, I called because compressor was making hard rattling noise. Yeah, they do that, said the technician. Called a second time about 6 weeks later because noise did not improve, only got worse. Yeah, they are loud arent they, said the technician, but it is cooling, right? Fast forward to October, 2016. This refrigerator can be described as: 1) Ready to launch, 2) A Mack Truck idling in my kitchen, 3) a flat head V-8 without oil - Granted, these are hyperbole, but the point is, this is a refrigerator guys, not a power tool. Not only exceptionally loud but the thing runs constantly. I know all new refrigerators are low watt, run a long time efficient just like my prior 18 year old Kenmore, but just about every morning after it has been sitting there with the door closed for 7 hours, it is cranking away, seemingly at its loudest. So I called Best Buy because I bought the 5 year warranty. No problem, we will send someone out right away. Guy shows up, Yeah, terribly noisy, well put in for a new compressor. Wow, that is great! Then there was this huge mess up between the Best Buy/Geek Squad hand-off to the people that were going to actually do the work. Two weeks later, technician shows up 10 days late. Thats the noise they make nowadays, yep. If your refrigerator was behind a cabinet, you would not hear all that noise, besides, todays units run at a higher speed. What a bunch of silly excuses. The guy left saying, It is what it is. I say, Samsung has a problem. The noise is not to be tolerated. At this point I am going to see if I can trade this thing out for something else. Noise=loss of energy. I would love to put an amp meter on this for a period of time and see what energy levels this thing is really consuming. After this review, I am going to upload a video of this rickety mess on YouTube, write a bunch of friend and see if it will go viral. Back in August of 2015, all I wanted was a refrigerator that does not dominate my space, it is that bad, it is very annoying, unnecessarily so. Other than that, it is a nice unit and everything else works just fine. In fact, sometimes, but not always, it does run quietly. It is capable of running quietly, they just have a problem with it being noisy most of the time.
I have a Samsung French door, bottom freezer and dual ice maker. It stopped making ice and stopped freezing my food in mid July. Its now September. 9 work orders later and many things fixed, I still dont have ice or frozen freezer. Thank God I had the brains to purchase a warranty when I bought the fridge. The price to fix the unfixed fridge now exceeds what I paid for it. Samsung needs to step up and take responsibility, take the fridge back to the drawing board and start all over, make it right or stop making fridges. STICK TO CELL PHONES. I still am without a freezer waiting for second MAIN CONTROL BOARD.
Ice build up on walls and crisper. Temperature fluctuations inside the freezer and fridge. Unable to maintain set temp. Operating screen broke and now the system not respond. Just beeps loudly. Compressor is loud like car engine non-stop on. House Fire danger with compressor on all the time. Complaint filed bbb.org to Samsung response but Im sorry. I hope youll purchase another Samsung product. Im SOL.
Dishwasher door leaks. Repaired 5 times over the last 16 months, still leaks. 2 sets of kitchen cabinetry ruined. Samsung still refuse to replace the machine or to refund my money. Do Not buy one of these, it is the most expensive dishwasher I have purchased and by far the worst. Pity the rating here doesnt allow me to award NO STARS!!!
Refrigerator is three year old and cost about $2000. Last week the evaporator fan (inside of the refrigerator) started getting noisy. After looking online and discovering that this is a common issue I contacted the support people at Samsung. I received a canned response that said it could be caused by lots of things. They recommended that I unplug the refrigerator for 24 hours to let the evaporator thaw and for the ice to melt. If it happens again Im supposed to call for a repair appointment. We had to move all of our contents out of the refrigerator to let the evaporator thaw before we could get the cover off to clean out the drain. This is a really poor product backed up by offshore support auto responders. For your next refrigerator purchase choose any product other than Samsung.
Stay away from Samsung refrigerators, they suck. Talk to appliance sales representatives and appliance repairmen, they will tell you same thing: Samsung is difficult to deal with.My 5 year old fridge, model #RSG257AARS, freezer section stopped working. This problem started 4.5 years after I purchased this unit. I first sign of problems was when the ice maker stopped making ice. I thought it was a ice maker gone bad problem - INCORRECT, this was the first sign that the freezer section was losing freon. I tried to find a repairman that serviced Samsung products, almost impossible. My appliance repairman (I own several rental units, I have used the same appliance repair guy for 10+ years) told me that Samsungs are hard to work on but not as hard as dealing with the Samsung company. Boy was he right! 6 months later, I finally got a Samsung approved repairman out to diagnosis the problem. The unit needed a $600.00 recharge of the freon system and, due to the delays in finding a qualified repairman, I found myself just outside the actual purchase-receipt-date on the 5 year warranty of the compressor system. Since my unit was technically no longer in warranty, there was nothing Samsung could do for me. I fought the good fight with Samsung and you can read the blow-by-blow description below (My Sad Samsung Story) but the bottom line is that Samsung is way, way too difficult to deal with from a consumer point of view. I think their customer service executives were trained in North Korea. I would avoid these machines and any other Samsung products. They have lost me as a customer. If you do own a Samsung and have any sort of minor problem, call Samsung immediately. Remember to keep your sales receipt. Samsung will not even start a conversation with you unless you have this. The following is an email I sent to the office of the president for Samsung:My Sad Samsung StoryFirst off, I own several Samsung phones and televisions. This is a story about the refrigerator I own and how unsupportive Samsung is when you have a problem. This past December/January, my wife and I noticed the ice maker of our Samsung refrigerator was NOT making ice. We then noticed that ice cream was NOT staying frozen. At first, I thought that with the Holidays and the large amount of use the freezer was getting; it might have a problem keeping up. We continued to monitor the performance of our freezer section and it continued to get worse. At this point I pulled out the unit, removed the access panel at the bottom and thoroughly cleaned the fan and coils. Since we have cats and dogs, I have always cleaned behind our refrigerator every 6 months. The refrigerator worked fine for a week but then went back to NOT keeping items frozen or making ice. With the problem not getting better, we finally started calling appliance service technicians in April. We own several rental properties and every time I have had an appliance problem, I have called a very reliable and trustworthy appliance repairman. He has been working for me for over 10 years. When I called him about my Samsung refrigerator problem, he said he did not work on Samsungs and told me I would have a hard time finding anyone who did. He was right. It took us until May to find someone who agreed to come out and look at the problem but he didnât make it to our house until June. This guy was from Encore Appliance Repair. While at our home, he spent most of his time on the phone with a Samsung representative trying different diagnostic procedures. They finally agreed that the main circuit board was bad. The board was swapped out a week later and the fridge still didnât work. Finally got the Encore service man back out and he again spent most of his time on the phone with a Samsung representative. The diagnosis this time was that the Freon needed to be recharged. During the phone conversation, the Samsung representative assured my service man that since my fridge was still under warranty; Samsung would pay to have the unit repaired. I was then instructed to call 1-800-SAMSUNG.My initial conversation with the Samsung representative, Peter, was that I would need to verify the purchase of this unit. I then proceeded to fax, email and text a copy of my receipt to Samsung. The next day I called Samsung and talked to Franklin, he told me that they had not received anything from me but that if my unit was bought in 2009, it would be covered. He then gave me the number of the certified repairman that Samsung uses in my area. This was the service agency that Samsung was going to use for my warranty repair. Franklin told me it would be quicker for me to make an appointment with this appliance repair service than for him to call and set up an appointment. Golden-in home Service came out to my house on Tuesday, June 23rd and told me that a gasket on a fill valve on my fridgeâs compressor had failed and I had lost the Freon charge. Cost for repair was $600.00.I called Samsung again and relayed this information to Keisha. She told me that Samsung still did not have any verification of my sales receipt and then she transferred me to Bonnie, an executive service representative. Bonnie listened to my tale and asked me to immediately email her my receipt, which I did. Upon examining it, she said that since my receipt was dated 5/7/2009, the 5 year warranty on my fridgeâs compressor expired on 5/7/2014 and there was nothing she could do for me.Needless to say, I was and remain extremely upset. My unit had been failing since December 2013, I finally get in contact with Samsung in June 2014 and they tell me that there is ânothing they can do for meâ? I may have contacted Samsung shortly after my 5 year warranty expired but I have been actively trying to have this unit fixed since January of this year. It is very upsetting to me that a company, any company, would not stand by a defective product. I remain very upset with Samsung. The Story ContinuesâŚAfter I sent the above email to âThe Office of the Presidentâ for Samsung, I got a phone call from Shawna, a Samsung executive service representative. She listened to my sad tale and asked me some questions concerning what exactly the service technician had told me. It just so happens that the Appliance repair Company, the one I used to diagnose my fridge; called and that morning, about 45 minutes prior to Shawna, and told me that in their opinion, our fridge âwas not worth fixingâ. Keep in mind that this is the company Samsung recommended and told me to use. Ms. Shawna then said she needed to talk this service company, Golden-In-House appliance repair, and verify their findings. She told me that Samsung would either pay for my repairs or credit me a prorated portion of my initial purchase cost. She also promised to call back that same day.About 6+ hours later, Ms. Shawna called back and told me that since my refrigerator was fixable, Samsung would be willing to pay for the parts to fix it but NOT the labor. The repair quote by Golden-in-Home was for $600.00, mostly labor. I pointed out to Shawna that the repair service had recommended I NOT repair this unit, their direct quote was that it was that âit was not worth itâ to repair this fridge. Shawna argued that the unit could be repaired, if we were willing to pay for the repair. I told her that my household had been turned upside down long enough with this problem and we wanted to get a new fridge. I told her I wanted to have Samsung prorate the purchase price of my fridge. She said Samsung would not âbuy backâ this defective fridge until I had tried to repair it. Shawna said she could submit a request for a buy back to her boss but it would be turned down. I then realized that Shawna had no power to resolve my situation. I told her that I was very upset with Samsung and that they would be losing a customer. She acknowledged that this was an unfortunate situation for me and then she asked, âIs there anything else I could help me with todayâ? I didnât bother to point out the fact that she hadnât helped in the first place. Conclusion: Stay away from Samsung. They donât know the first thing about making the customer happy or honoring their warranties.
DMT800RHS - Dont purchase this item if you have Granite countertops. They only make top mounting brackets. They do not make side mounting brackets. This leaves the dishwasher unstable which continues to cause other issues.. This seems to me to be a design flaw! After reading some of the other complaints, I also agree that there has always been a horrible smell in this dishwasher as well! Very, very unhappy customer!
First and foremost, Samsung does not have a clue when it comes to customer service. Theyre blinded by their policies. As a matter of fact, they have a department that goes by the name of Executive Customer Relations (ECR) which is intended to be there to help with escalated issues and even the manager of this department who goes by the name of Prosper, admitted to me that there is nobody in the company that we, as customers, can speak to that has the ability to determine if a replacement product or refund should be made. You may let this be a warning, if you are reading this, that Samsung truly does not have customer service support if you come across any major issues with your products. We have had our Samsung refrigerator for only 3 months and within the first 3 days we had our first service call for a defective water system. Then 2 months later the same issue and another major issue occurred and they plan to take our entire unit apart, and rebuild a brand new unit. I bought a brand new unit and do not wish to have a rebuilt unit as anyone in my shoes would feel. Unfortunately because they do not have a person who can help, I want to be sure that you, the consumer, has the chance to be forewarned about the reality of the customer service in this company. At the end of the day, there are multiple reviews about Samsung quality issues and service issues. Trust what you read as I wish I did when I was shopping for this. I love their TVs as I have a few and have not had issues, but their appliances are not their strong point. Just be careful with Samsung and really think about if you want to deal with this. They have only 1 star on this Consumer Affairs page, which should speak for itself.
We contacted Samsung customer service about our new Samsung fridge model# RF4287HARS that cost $2100. After only 6 months of use, two right hand door shelves have cracked and broke. They refused to replace them and we had to pay over $100. The fridge is poorly designed if the shelves only last that long. It looks pretty but dont waste your money on them. Choose another manufacturer for your appliance needs. Not Samsung!
After 13 months (just after warranty expired) the icemaker began icing over. I called Samsung who would only send out a paid repair person. I learned how to de-ice it myself and have to do this every three months or so. I just discovered a fix on YouTube which resulted in $200 worth of parts. Now, three years later, there is a solid sheet of ice under the crisper drawer and a very loud fan noise coming from the fridge (RF263BEAESR/AA). Again using YouTube I discovered that ice builds up because of another poor design and I had to remove all the food, all the shelves, including the difficult to remove one above the crisper drawer, and then pry off a back panel and use a hair dryer to defrost it. Ice had built up and the fan was hitting the ice. This is due to a small metal piece that is attached to the heating element, the metal piece isnt long enough and allows the drain to freeze closed. This causes the ice build up. This is an expensive appliance and I am already looking at having to replace it because it is not reliable and requires so much maintenance. My old fridge was a cheap GE that lasted 16 years without a single repair. Samsung knows about the design flaws, has even issued a technical bulletin about it. They refuse to issue a recall and correct their mistake, leaving so many homeowners frustrated. I will not buy another Samsung product as long as I live! There are several class-action lawsuits pending against Samsung in regards to this appliance. Buyer beware, run from Samsung appliances.
I paid over $2K for for a Samsung 3 Door refrigerator from Lowes a little over three years ago long with a high end Samsung Range. The range failed as soon as the warranty expired and was cheaper to junk than to repair, the Refrigerator has been going downhill over he past two years. Do yourself a favor and stay away from any Samsung appliances. They are junk.
I purchased my Samsung refrigerator in 2015 from Home Depot. I will never buy Samsung again nor an appliance from Home Depot. Approximately 6 months ago I noticed bubbling of the finish on the front with peeling. This includes the left door where the ice maker is located, the drawer and the freezer drawer. The surfaces are raised from the inside out which to me indicates rust. As I began my process to complain I began with Home Depot who informed me my extended warranty didnt cover cosmetic problems. From there directly to Samsung who has consistently refused to stand behind their product. Almost telling me it is my fault. Well what about quality of the product and consumer satisfaction? In the business we own, quality is our most important aspect. Without good quality and willingness to stand behind your products you are nothing. No more Samsung for this family. I found Samsung to be unprofessional in the way this was handled and have complained to the Office of the President without results. Stay away from Samsung.
Absolutely horrible customer service. Ive had this $2100 refrigerator for 9 months and they want me to repair the ice maker myself. They flat out refuse to refund the price of the refrigerator. The fact that anyone is still selling these machines is mind boggling. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM SAMSUNG.
I Bought a French door Samsung refrigerator 11/13/16. Year and a half later the ice maker had to be replace. 3 weeks ago, my fridge stop work, call Samsung, a technician came over today, 04/01/2020 and just told me, the little over three years old refrigerator is dead. No repair, no warranty. It have a sulfur damaged. How that can be? I have a city water and a purified water system in the whole house. I have a 15 year old refrigerator, from the time the house was build, and still work in the garage. This is BS. I been read a lot other reviews in the internet, and people had the same problem. I paid $2,058.64 for this crap at Home Depot, and now I have to go out and buy another one. Please donât waste your money with Samsung.
Samsung 4 Door Flex refrigerator - Shame on you Samsung and shame on me. I did not look at this review site till today. Hence I would not have bought your refrigerator. As with others that I see on the reviews, our ice cube freezer ices up and we have to defrost it. I had a protection plan and they came to fix it, but it happened again 1 month after repair. My plan had ended so there will be no new fixing, which doesnt seem to help anyway. Today I was going to reach out to Samsung but I can see by the other reviews that this is a wasted effort as Samsung does not seem to care. Shame on you Samsung that you continue to sell your product but dont fix an issue that many owners are experiencing.
I like the stove, but I bought it with a divider thinking it would make two stoves which is not really working well. When you use the bottom with the top it gets too hot on the top portion. I would not recommend to spend the extra money for a divider.
From last Thursday March 23, 2017 our Samsung stove got thermo cracked while doing cooking. Contact customer service. Sent them pictures of cracked glass of stove. Stove is manufactured in May 2016. We bought it few months back. They deny to send any help or tech to take a look. They said is physical damage and they dont cover it. Talked to their supervisor Mike.Updated on 04/05/2017: Talked to their supervisor Mike ** and their executive sale supervisor. Even they suggested us to show stove to their own company tech. And we paid $50 from our pocket. Even their own tech made a decision that it was not physical damage. It was thermo cracked but Samsung supervisor never accepted their own employee results or decision. How could trust on Samsung company when they dont trust or respect their own employee decision. They denied to help us.
My microwave suddenly began beeping and displayed a SE code. Upon reviewing internet comments, I realized it is a common problem amongst owners and there were various experiences in getting a repair. After spending 45 minutes on the chat line, I was referred to the customer service line. I called and was greeted by a very friendly representative. Unfortunately, I called Samsung US and was referred to Samsung CA. The ticket number he provided was not recognized in Canada so I had to go through the whole story again. They were willing to send a technician out but I need to provide a receipt. In my opinion, a Samsung product is a Samsung product. Nonetheless, a few hoops to go through in order to get a technician out so will update later.
I purchase this Samsung refrigerator three years ago. Itâs been very noisy from day and recently it started leaking water and iced up even though its a frost free fridge. It not cooling food properly and it stop working altogether six days ago. I now have to purchase a new refrigerator. I will never been buying any Samsung appliances again. I feel totally ripped off.
Samsung are not making good refrigerators. Tooooo bad. Vegetables and fruits in the lower basket gone bad, filled with water, smell bad. I think there is a problem in the vegetable basket of the ref.
Smart auto and Heavy code on DW80F600UTS. I purchased this dishwasher in late 2013 because it was on sale. It was a year later when the Smart Auto and Heavy lights started blinking. I didnt purchase the extended warranty which was a mistake. The dishwasher became something for looks for awhile until I had time to fix it. Once I started fixing it recently, I found many posts on all the possible fixes. I replaced the case break and it still does not work. I see others say to replace the ECS and main boards. I must have pulled out the dishwasher a half a dozen times already trying to fix it. What a waste of time and money. Never buy a Samsung. I think I will also trade my Galaxy S5 for an iPhone just out of principle.
When cleaning I noticed a one inch crack in the cooking top. Called Samsung and sent agent. Took a picture and sent to mfg. They stated physical damage, so no recourse. My problem. Now watching it grow. Top is virtually a problem to clean each time it is used. Purchased stove, microwave, refrigerator and dish washer at sale at Best Buy. All are inferior to the products replaced after 17 years of service. What a mistake.
The warranty is up in our fridge and the light bulb has gone out. Im unhappy with Samsung appliances, and do not recommend buying any of their products. As soon as the warranty expires, the appliance falls apart. And they will not fix it. They want more money from you, after spending $2,000.00 on a fridge! The first day I bought it, the handle fell off!! It was still under warranty, but they wanted to charge me $150.00 for a service repair. I called Home Depot, where I purchased it, and they showed up the same day. Home Depot fixed it with no additional fee. Hooray for #HomeDepot! They stand for their service.
Purchased a fridge in August and the door has a chime that goes off all day long. Called Samsung and they have sent a tech to my house 8 TIMES. And the fridge is still defective. Every time I call they want to send a tech to my house again instead of replacing the unit. Customer service with SAMSUNG is TERRIBLE. HORRIBLE.
The refrigerator has frozen and had to be defrosted now. I have a smell like something is dead inside. Samsung are no help and after reading the other reviews online it seems as if there is a definite design problem which Samsung are unable to fix. My advice do not buy any of their fridges. I bought mine from the Home Depot - I dont know why they are selling them.
I bought new Samsung refrigerator 192 ltr and just used 7 days. Now got a compressor problem.
My Samsung microwave oven is 2 years old. It just started beeping and the display showed 2222. And then it had an SE code and just kept on beeping. I wasnt using it at the time and it just started beeping on its own. The model is SMH9207ST, manufactured March 2010.
Purchased a French door, lower freezer Samsung fridge from Lowes in 2009. I have a 25 year old Jenaire fridge in the garage that I have never spent a dime on for repairs. I had had multiple problems with the Samsung fridge, including having to replace the ice maker, some other parts that caused the fridge to stop cooling (about $400.00). The ice maker has always leaked water the first time it is used, causing stains down the front of the door & pooling on top of the freezer door. Now my newest problem is that the door that has the ice maker is rusting through, particularly around the ice maker but also at the bottom. My fear is that the insulation in the door is covered In mold.
The wire racks tilt down when pulling out. I have burnt myself several times. The glass range top scratched easily. The stove top takes forever to cool down. The elements now only heat to high even when set at the lowest setting.
I bought all new Samsung appliances about 2 years ago and have had nothing but issues with every piece from fridge to dishwasher and stove. Many issues was during 1st year with stove element going out, ice maker quit working after 1 year, dishwasher leaks, inside of dishwasher plastic parts are melting apart. Worse experience ever and will never buy a Samsung. Whirlpool was never a problem prior.
Drives me crazy, repaired once at less than 2 years old, considering the price we paid Im disgusted. The doors have to be forced shut, as they dont close automatically. Butter holder doesnt hold a pound of butter! Shelves barely adjust and certainly not efficient. Water seems to pool in vegetable bins. To make matters worse the fridge and in particular the freezer is always covered in weird patterns as if the moisture is escaping somehow to just under the stainless steel. Will never ever purchase a Samsung anything again and I think Ill stick to low end because it seems like everything breaks down after 2 years regardless of the price.
This fridge is almost 5 years old. Sometimes it freezes the milk and then like today, it thawed the ice cream! Absolutely despise this Samsung RS261. This is not even worth being a garage/basement fridge. This one is suited for the dump! Shame on Samsung for making such a horrible product.
I have never had a dishwasher that stinks like this one. And it seems it is a major issue. I made a mistake by looking at Best Buy reviews. Of course now I am pretty sure they are fixed. We redid the kitchen with all new Samsung black stainless. Looks great but terrible appliances in general. Will never buy another Samsung. Jan **St Louis MO
Samsung model RF28HMEDBWW-0000. I had this fridge for 5 years 3 months. After 3 years the ice maker froze up and had to be defrosted every 2 weeks. Now the defrost fan is striking a buildup of ice in the fan area and the fridge has to be disassembled ever.
The cooling function in the fridge section keeps failing, after two repairs while it was under warranty (which was extremely difficult to get, despite the fact that the fridge maintained 19 degree celsius even when programmed to cool to 1 degree), and multiple repairs after the warranty expired it still will randomly fail. I have done everything advised - I even bought a separate freezer unit because some people suggested the freezer was too full. I keep the fridge minimally packed, but still the fridge refuses to cool. Now it has begun resetting every time the door is open, and sometimes makes a loud grinding noise (we have disabled the ice maker multiple times to try and stop that). Do yourself a favor and do not buy this very expensive fridge. Its garbage.
I purchased a Samsung side by side refrigerator in August 2014, Model RF217ACPHN/XAA. In April 2016, the inside iced over and began making clunking noises. I called an appliance tech who replaced a burned out coil. In less than two months, the back of the refrigerator iced over again, and the tech made another house call to de-ice. In the meantime, the ice maker stopped working. The icing has become a problem again, and the tech says he needs a main control, which he has been unable to order. I contacted Customer Service at Samsung to inquire about purchasing the part, but have received no answer. I am now defrosting the appliance and should know tomorrow whether I need to replace it or not. If I do, you can be assured it will not be another Samsung product! NO MORE SAMSUNG FOR ME!
I would never recommend Samsung. The customer service is awful. I recently purchased a new fridge and range, I have had the repair company to my house 3 times and the appliances are less than 3 months old. The flat top had a white mark inside the glass after 1 month, they replaced the cook top and 1 month later the new top has the same mark on it. They are supposed to come again for the second time, but are not returning my phone calls, I have spend many hours altogether on hold, to have them say they would call me back in 48 hrs. Still no phone calls back. This has been going on for over a month. VERY BAD SERVICE... BEWARE BEFORE YOU BUY A SAMSUNG APPLIANCE.
