We have known Viking for many years. The Viking Range was high-end quality and we wanted a commercial type of stove. We bought it from a dealer who was very nice and helpful to us. So far, the range is wonderful. The oven cooks very quickly and it’s different from any other ovens I’ve ever had. I like the convection in it. I also like the fact that we have the grate on top where we could grill. Although we bought that separately from the stove, you could grill things on it and make pancakes on the other side. The oven is sturdy and easy to clean. But Im not too happy about the shelves. They dont come out very easily and they stick out a bit. You cant get a round pizza pan in there. Also, the fascia came bent twice. It came right off the box that way. So the second time, we just had the installer push it back up. But all in all, our experience with Viking has been pretty satisfying. The oven works very well as far as cooking food.

We got a stove and some other appliances. The stove, we had issue with. Its a gas stove. The proper gas nozzle apertures were requested when we ordered it but they were not sent. And there were some issues between our local dealer getting that correct nozzle. That took time. And during the installation, the installers broke a piece of the stove or the oven. And it took two times to get the correct part. They got it the first time and they installed it, and the local people who were our installers and our repairer as well, said, “This isnt right.” So it went back to Viking. We talked to somebody. Got it right. And same thing with those nozzles. It wasnt done correct the first time. I dont know where that issue lies, if it was with our local person not being able to articulate what was properly needed, or Viking not understanding or sending the wrong piece altogether. We chose Viking for several reasons. The aesthetics of it, how it looks, the way it would fit into our kitchen, the design, and its reliability, that it was a very good brand. I like how, when we open the doors, they feel substantial. Most refrigerator and freezer doors, you open them, they feel lightweight and not put together well. The Viking, when you open it up, that door is heavy. Its not heavy like I cant open it. But it feels very substantial, that I have something there that would hold up and done well.

My sister had a Viking refrigerator and I got myself one but I have had nothing but issues. Something happened right away to the first unit I received. I fought with Viking for over a year and a half about it. They kept having repair people come in to fix stuff but nothing worked. I had to buy a new unit that they supposedly gave me a 50% discount on. Then, when the unit got in, it was dented. It took them four months to reorder and fix the part. Then, the icemaker didn’t work, and I lived without that, on a brand-new fridge for another four months. Where I live, there is only one company that could fix a Viking. They don’t have enough people and that meant that every time they order something, it took weeks to get somebody out here. That company doesnt have the workers involved. Theres not enough support or backup people that can fix these things and nobody thinks about that. When you buy a product, the service department has to come from another state to fix it. Then, if that company wasn’t good, you’re stuck at their mercy. They keep taking their time and they don’t know what they’re doing. So, I’m not happy at all. I would never buy another.

My Viking refrigerator is good. The only thing is its such a humungous refrigerator but its so tiny inside. Its only like 19 cubic feet, and I just disregarded that whenever I was picking it out. Ive worked with AJ Madisons, which is who I ordered the refrigerator through, and that was a terrible experience. My product came so late. It was promised to me like months before I got it. When I ordered it, I had AJ Madison call the manufacturer and find out when to expect it by. I was promised that it would only take three months, and it took six months to get it once I paid for it.

I like the look of the Viking Ranges, the quality of the oven and the electric oven that’s hard to find. We got one that is 36 inches and has six burners. And this feature of the oven is my favorite. It’s a great looking range and of good quality. When we got it, we thought we had one burner that would not light. But I called and they had somebody come out right away and fixed it. It was quick and it was all covered in the warranty so it was nice and easy. The customer service has been great. Overall, I’m happy.

I have a Viking four burner range with convection oven. In the 13 years I have owned this I have changed all the igniters twice, the igniter control module once and the oven door hinges twice. The latest breakdown is that the baffle under the oven floor detached due to rust, damaging the burners and ignitor. I called to make a warranty claim - Lifetime warranty against rust, it says in my owners manual. I called customer service and was advised with Viking this warranty only applies to the stainless steel parts... the parts that dont rust. Company does not stand behind their product. DO NOT BUY VIKING!!!

I like the Viking refrigerator. Its smaller than what we had before, but it seems to perform well. It has drawers for vegetables and other things. They also have a drawer that keeps temperature at specific temps. It has a separate kind of a cooling system connected to it. We sometimes wish that the freezer was a little bit larger though.

We bought an entire set of Viking appliances: vegetable drawer, beverage fridge, and ovens. The fridge specifically has been fantastic, just the quality of it and the features that it has. Having the freezer at the bottom is a great feature. We have the two drawers there that pull out separately. Also, theres a separate rolling tray that separates between the upper and lower half of the freezer itself, which is great. We also like that since the door is a French door, we can put in wider items there like a tray of longer cake, whereas if its double doors, it wouldnt be like that. We highly recommend it and its a game-changer.

The service couldnt be worse. The 48 refrigerator unit overall is very nice - unfortunately the support staff is awful. This will be my last Viking unless something changes fast! I sure miss my Sub-Zero! The rep also lists an incorrect phone number on her email which just blows me away - when I email her it takes almost a week to get back to me as well.

We have a lot of friends who own Viking appliances, both refrigerators and stoves. This is our first Viking fridge and we love it. I like the bottom drawer for the freezer cause we got the big swing door. It was a little bit hard to install because it had to be in a wall unit. Other than that, were happy with the product itself. We were fine with the dealer, however, we are still missing pieces of equipment, such as pieces of trim. We had someone from Viking come over and he supposedly ordered the trim pieces. Its been a month and we still havent seen him though. Then, theres a spacer between the hinged top when the door swings open that was broken. We are missing that little barrier in between, to keep it from swinging more than 180 degrees. Still, I would recommend Viking refrigerators.

After multiple service calls to repair/replaced the igniters on our Viking
After multiple service calls to repair/replaced the igniters on our Viking Professional Range, we now keep a fire starter on the range top to ignite the burners. Two local service companies will not warranty either the Viking igniters or their repair/replacement because igniter parts are consistently defective if they are even available from Viking Parts. Viking Ranges will not return our calls. Nice range with chronically defective parts that are impossible to repair/replace. After more than $1,700 in igniter repair/replacement, dont expect to light my stove without a fire stick. Remember, most Viking sales people are painfully aware of the problem but totally avoid the issue before you purchase the range.

We purchased a house that had Viking appliances in it and our range had a little saga. We were happy with the original range until it had its issue with the handle. The front door with the handle and glass separated from the heavier thermal part of the door. It was under warranty but they couldnt supply a replacement part. It took many months before Viking finally agreed to replace the range but once they did, they did a really good job of coordinating. It was very unexpected to have an issue with the door, but they resolved to our satisfaction.

I’ve owned Viking before, and I like the features they had on this particular model. It’s easy to purchase. But Ive had to contact them multiple times. It’s a piece of garbage. It’s broken multiple times. We have a two oven model. The oven will go into self-cleaning mode and lock, even though we’re not trying to clean, we’re trying to cook. And it’ll take days to get the oven unlocked with food stuck in it. Ovens will just die because they won’t heat properly. We have the electric oven with the gas burners. And so, we’ve had failure to heat multiple times as well, with defective relays, defective elements. It’s also very hard to get a serviceperson to come. And when they come, they dont fix it. One problem has recurred and not been repaired several times, and then, I had another problem as well. They always try to charge me for the call, even though it was under warranty. I would never buy Viking again.

Beware Beware Beware! I have owned a Viking refrigerator for 3 years and have had 9 service calls so far. The model rvrf336ss5 has been known to have leaking issues and freezing issues in the chill drawers. In fact, Viking changed the model number after making some fixes, yet the last repairman mentioned it is a bad investment to buy either model. It is a sleek and nice fridge in appearance but don’t be fooled.Viking will do support teams are essentially trained to do everything they can to not replace their faulty merchandise. After 9 service calls the service department said they still lacked sufficient information. Viking will send their own “approved” service department, who essentially are too scared to report the truth because Viking will pull their contracts. This isn’t an opinion rather what we were backhandedly told. I am a handicapped frontline medical worker who has now retired and my husband is a frontline medical worker. During these awful times dealing with a faulty refrigerator and crooked service department is the last thing we need. Their refrigerators leak notoriously. Forget the fact my 2010 Viking oven has never heated properly or that we couldnt use our 2010 Viking dishwasher for 5 weeks because we couldnt get a part to fix it. Now, we have been without the use of our 2010 Viking refrigerator for a month. Five service calls, five missed days from work to wait for a repairman, and now, the repair service says it’s not fixable. Its two years old! We have called, emails documented and Viking says they will review the case. An hour on hold today, waiting to talk to a supervisor and all she could tell me was to wait for someone from the distributor to call me sometime. Thanks, big help. Do not buy Viking products. Let me know where to sign up for a lawsuit. We have spent hundreds of dollars on eating out and lost food from the broken fridge. Not to mention, our custom cabinets were built specifically to the specs for these products. If I spend the money to buy something else, I will have to re size all our cabinetry. So frustrated.

Ive used Viking Refrigerators in the past through travels and Ive read about them in trade rags. I knew it was a high-end product and it was something I was interested in using once we upgraded our kitchen. We have a property that we stay at in Hawaii and they have all Viking products so we got to use them there. Ive only had them for a few months, but its been fine so far. I like the refrigerators size, commercial look, and the way it fits our custom kitchen design. When I was purchasing it, I knew what I was looking for and did everything online and only talked to the rep for 15 minutes to order. I had some questions regarding the warranty. I heard they extended it to 5 years and I want to confirm what the actual warranty is on it. Aside from that, everything has been great so far.

To say that I have been extremely disappointed with my Viking oven is putting it mildly. This oven has broken three times since 2012. Two of those times was in the middle of cooking Thanksgiving Dinner. The problem with this oven is a computer chip panel that continually burns out when the oven becomes hot. I have had to replace this part twice. I question why Viking would engineer such a problematic oven and then offer a replacement part that is only under warranty for a year. I have contacted Viking customer service by phone and by letter and their only response is to tell me the part is no longer under warranty. I have replaced the Viking oven and I will never buy another Viking product. I am writing this to alert other consumers to be aware of this issue and the lack of customer service when considering purchasing a Viking range.

Viking is a good brand. Its made in the USA and we like the look and size of their refrigerators. Ours is working great so far. The temperature control is nice and the doors open and close easily. Its like a French door refrigerator, but they dont hit each other. My sister has a Sub-Zero but its doors would hit each other if they didnt close them the right way. As with ours, the doors seem to be pretty seamless, which is good. However, the freezer in our fridge is like a pull out drawer and if I pull the freezer from one side, it gets off the track a little bit. Sometimes I have to straighten it out and push it back in, which is a little weird. Also, it would be cool if there was a water dispenser inside the fridge, though Im sure Viking has that on some of their high-end refrigerators. As for the Viking dealer, their team was on-time and they answered all my questions. They were absolutely friendly and respectful as well. It was an easy experience overall.

I had a Viking in the home I purchased and based on the existing refrigerator I had, they offered me a discount to stay with them. The older refrigerator was not very good at all. The models that were manufactured between 2001 and 2007 were total crap. And they knew there were problems. The owners had significant repairs and costs. I had issues with the thermostat, compressor, evaporator, and hardware falling off. The evaporator was 1,500 bucks to replace and Ive done that twice. When it came down for replacement, Viking offered us a 40% discount to stay with them and give their product another chance. So far, Im very pleased with the new refrigerator. Their representatives were very helpful and I like the people from Middleby. Ive had a very good experience with Viking.

I have been very happy with Viking. The downside of the Professional range that I have, is that there’s not a small burner and they’re all the same size. But other than that, I have not have any problems with them until just recently, when one of my ovens ran out. I looked online for a repairman and I was not happy with the first repairman that I saw. He came into my home, looked at my range and he called me back about a week later, and said that it was going to cost $1,700 for a new control panel, and two workers to repair it. That’s not right.I did some research. I found another repairman that was Viking approved and it costed me just under 600 to repair my oven. There was a recall on it as well, so they did that. They took care of that in addition to fixing my oven. Probably, the biggest downside is that it’s hard to find good and honest repairmen for Viking products. But I have no complaints from my products. It’s a quality product. I’ve got an electric wall oven that I use constantly and gracefully. Thank God that it’s performing well. And I’ve used my products all the time. They all look pretty in my home.

The dishwasher had problems working within the first few months. We thought we just did not know how to use it. We have a three year warranty. Two and a half years later, we finally called for a warranty service call. We were told that Viking has a recall on all their dishwashers. We have had three service calls to date, its still not working. The service person has replaced almost every circuit board, wiring loom, motor, pump etc. Now we need a fourth service call to replace another circuit board. I am now asking Pacific Sales to replace my dishwasher. I was told no by one of their employees. Im now waiting for a manager to call me back. Our Viking Microwave that we purchased 2008 has blown a hole in the bottom of the microwave. I contacted three representatives from Viking, including the West Coast Office president, Bob Woods, who could not help us. We took numerous pictures and e-mailed them to him. He then talked with their engineers who had no idea what happened. This is supposed to be a top of the line product. I am extremely frustrated that I have been given the runaround with no answers. Our appliance repairman (Executive Appliance) said he has never seen anything like this, as the bottom of the microwave is metal. I bought a Viking range and microwave a year ago thinking with the higher pricing, bought higher quality. After one week, the stove top range started falling apart. The numbers on all the dials began rubbing off. Very poor quality. If you just want the range to just look pretty, dont ever plan on actually cooking on it. After one year the microwave has died completely. Its true what others have said. Viking will not come out for repair. They dont care. They sent out a rep., Wuerstlins Appliance Services, Inc. which failed to successfully repair it. Im now calling them out for the third time and Ive been without a microwave in my upstairs kitchen for four months and counting. My walmart microwave in the basement 5 years later is still kicking strong. I recommend not even going down the aisle which displays a Viking product because its a total waste of time and money. Its a tough year because we bought the Viking range during COVID. We bought it last October but we couldnt get it until February or March. It was the same with our SubZero refrigerator. Its just the way it was last year. Our contractor put the range in and the ease of install was fine. They did the kitchen remodel and then, we redid counters and cabinets. The range heats up fast and even, and the stove and the burners work well. But the grates started showing wear. There are dings in it, like you dropped something on the grates or theyre torn off, and we hardly use it. The quality is not standing up to the price we paid for it. One thing I would like to have known is to burn it up before you try to cook something in it. I should have read the directions. We set off the smoke detectors. A sticker on the window might be a good idea. My wife had surgery and we had someone come to help my wife, and she was the one who used the oven first. The burners were easy to use. I had gas for the last 30 years so it was not hard so we didnt think about reading the instructions. We read them after we almost had the fire department called. Fortunately, we have good ventilation in the house and we have a Viking hood but that was what was expensive.

When we bought the house, it was a new construction. Apple Homes has been building since the Truman administration and we went with the quality and reputation of the builder. Ive had a number of different houses and appliances like Wolf, Thermador, Sub-Zero and LG. The appliances I was really satisfied with was Wolf but Ive always wanted Viking. Then this house had Viking and one of the considerations when we bought it was having the appliances we liked. We had used the Viking range for almost a year and then it freaked everybody out during a dinner party, because as my girlfriend opened it up, the door literally came off in her hand and when she let down, it hit the floor pretty hard. The range is a Professional and it has a heavy door. It was lucky it didnt land on her foot as the door couldve broken it. There was only one service tech in this area and that’s who came out and put the door on. He also said that when it was installed, it may not have had the door adjusted right because it was bent and it fell out. From what Apple Homes told me, the installer was Viking-approved because they got it from whoever could sell Viking. Yet they did it incorrectly so its like damned if you do and youre damned if you dont.Plus, weve had problems with the Viking refrigerator too. The ice machine goes everywhere when we use it and it doesnt click off. Its just poor design. I even thought it was a Professional but the service person told us it was actually another manufacturer that did that particular model for Viking. It wasnt really a Viking. Thats very misleading and I wasnt aware of that. The service cost us $100 because when the service person came out, they said he couldnt find our warranty online and we couldnt find copies either. We had sent all the registration and we dated it from when we first moved in. So we got it again from the builder and refilled it out. However, the service guy did say that Viking might reimburse the $100 service call fee. This happened just right after our first year and Im not sure but I think appliances got more than a one-year warranty. I hope so, for something that expensive. Hopefully it wont have any other issues because we like the way it cooks. We loved the stove and we wouldve recommended it until the door fell off. When that happened, we hated it.

I read the review from C of Cleveland, OH Nov. 21, 2019 and decided to provide my own feedback. We installed a Viking Double Oven over 10 years ago and it stopped working correctly after 3 or 4 years. We havent been able to use the lower oven for over 3 or 4 years. It keeps giving a cooling error, then stops working. The Birmingham Viking certified service people have replaced several parts including the control panel. Now Viking is trying to say that it was installed incorrectly which is total baloney! Just an excuse from Viking to get rid of us. We made SURE the contractor and cabinet builder followed the specs when it was installed and the installation was approved by the Viking Dealer. So this $6,500 unit can’t be repaired? Spend a third of the price and get the same quality with another cheaper brand!

When we renovated the entire house, we bought the whole set of Viking composed of the refrigeration, dishwasher and a range. I got a warranty for three years. However, there were some issues with my oven. Somehow, something stopped working. I called them and in two years, we were not offered the warranty for the service. We had to find our own way and I thought of every procedure possible to get the oven started again. But even today, it still hasn’t been repaired because I don’t have a warranty. And although the other Viking products are working fine, Im dissatisfied with Viking as I did not get what I needed at this point.

I like the durability, functionality, and ease of use of Viking ranges. We went to a Pacific Sales store very close to us. And my wife and I loved the 8-burners. We bought a Viking range and a few other Vikings such as microwave, dishwasher, and the hood. However, Pacific Sales screwed up the sales and they were not knowledgeable at all. There were delays in the delivery, and then when they scheduled it to come, we had to call multiple times. At one time, they delivered it to the wrong address, too, and the credit card that they charged was another issue. So, Viking really should check to see how Pacific Sales sell because of the experience. We finally got our purchase and we installed it, and I have nothing but good things to say about the look, the layout, the design, and the functionality. I love the burners and I love to cook. If I want to put something, I get a good enough heat in there, and that stuff is very good. I also like the traditional knobs. With the other companies, you really have to guess which knob to turn which burner on. The Viking is designed so well. Im very pleased with it. And now Im dealing with the rebate, which Im dealing directly with Viking. I sent them all the receipts to work on my rebates and I havent heard anything back from them yet. Also, when I call for the customer support, there was a lack of knowledge. And then, the website is designed for us to register there and its not as friendly as I want it to be and even though, when I call customer support and asked them, they didn’t know. So, I still hadnt registered my products with them yet.

Viking Ranges popped up as being nearest to my house when I did an online search. I like the brand. The stove is great, reliable and is a beautiful piece. They’re known for that but unfortunately, that’s the only thing they’re known for. I have the hood on top of the vent but it stopped working so, I called them. The customer service was very short. When some guy came out, he said that he had to change the whole part and he was going to overcharge me for something. But I was able to fix it by myself and it was just a loose wire. I grabbed a screwdriver, took it apart, took the thing out and then was able to put the wire back in place and now it works fine. It was pretty evident what was going on where it was a failure in the switch but they tried to scam me and make me buy a whole new piece which is ridiculous to me. I also have a Viking dishwasher and I figured that they could fix it. The technicians came out, was very nice and he did his best trying to fix the problem. He accomplished it ‘cause the dishwasher started working again but it was for half a day. The next day it stopped working and continued to be clogged. When I called back the technician to see if he could come back and repair it again, he never showed. He said he would call back and see if he would reappear but he never did. Eventually, I stopped calling him and I had to call a new place. I had to pay for somebody who will fix everything that the Viking technician wasnt able to fix. I was charged twice to get the repair. After that, I was reading reviews online and thought I should’ve gone with the different dishwasher. Viking doesn’t seem to have a very reliable dishwasher. The dishwasher is terrible. It keeps breaking down, flooding, it’s not easy to use, and it’s a disaster. On the whole, Viking is known for being exceptional and I have no complaints with the stove. Its phenomenal and it always works out great. But I would totally advise others to buy a different brand of dishwasher.

Wolf and Viking were our go-to brands and Viking Ranges price point was better than Wolf. The Viking dealer we bought it from was more of a challenge. We had a damaged Viking hood that we had to get replaced and I know the product was non-Viking. We got a fourth trim kit before it was not dented out of the box. If I didnt go in there and follow up all the time, I wouldnt have it. They could have answered emails or returned phone calls. And I was very disappointed that we spent like $38,000 of them. But we eventually got it all resolved four months later. Its the best oven weve ever owned. When you cook meat in it, everything just comes out so much better. Its easier to cook them to temp. We cooked one of those Tomahawk steaks for the first time and it came out just like in a restaurant. It was amazing. My wife likes the gas grills because before weve had all kinds of high-end electric ovens over the years and they were okay but not like this oven.

I was looking at the Viking refrigerator and it was fit for what I wanted it for. It was also better priced than most of the other commercial units, so I decided to purchase it. I have it in my home for a year in May now and its a good refrigerator. But I had problems with it and I had technicians out here at least four times to work on it.I had a tech out twice for the icemaker when it wasnt working. Something had burned out in there so they had to come and replace that. From what I could tell, these repairmen were not familiar with these products, so they were not too sure. They were constantly making phone calls asking someone else how to do things but most of all, it was like some of these things were failing inside of the refrigerator. I also had a problem with the water dispenser. The rubber over it was broken and Viking shipped one part out. Then the repairman was out for that but it still didn’t work properly. So now, I’ve been waiting for this thing to be fixed and it has been three months. Aside from that, the BlueZone bulb burned out when it should not be going out after only seven months. I didn’t even have the refrigerator for a year. So, I had to buy another bulb which was a hundred bucks. Then, the refrigerator kept beeping after I replaced the BlueZone bulb, so I had to call somebody to come out to turn off this annoying beep. It was weird. All in all, Viking hasnt fine-tuned some of the little things on their product and everything there needs to be looked at. Even the replacement parts werent fitting and I don’t understand it. It’s also a little disappointing. I haven’t even paid the thing off and I’ve had the service guy five times out. They need to care more about customer service, too. The refrigerator is under a three-year manufacturer’s warranty but they wouldn’t replace the bulb. First, they told me that they didn’t have the bulb. So, I got the bulb at no cost. Then I didn’t hear anything, so I followed up with them and they said that I had to go back to my dealer, buy the bulb from them, and let them come and install it. Not only that, when I called Viking, they didn’t have the bulb in stock and I had to wait four months for someone to get this stupid bulb in stock. But Viking sells an $11,000 refrigerator, so they gotta have the replacement parts.

We remodeled our kitchen and I got all Viking appliances. We wanted a higher-end brand and I knew Viking was considered in the top-of-the-line tier. It was between Viking and Sub-Zero but Viking had a special – the dishwasher was free. Overall, I’m happy with the quality. There are just a couple of things that bothered me. The fridge had deep scratches in it and we hadn’t made them but I didn’t notice until the 30 or 90 days so they wouldn’t do anything about that. Also, two months into it, the fridge light went out. The freezer light also went out. I was just really worried about what would happen once we were out of warranty. I told them to come and change it right then. They extended the warranty for three months but there have been some issues that cause me to worry. It would give me more peace of mind to have more of a warranty. I wouldve preferred a whole year added onto that. The produce drawers are at the bottom and although I don’t have my drawers overloaded, they can get full and I can see they get off-kilter because there are these weird short tracks that move that the drawers hang on to. So it’s a little bit hard because you gotta take the thing apart to clean it, at least with the way my kitchen is set up. I’m sure there’s a purpose for that but I think it shifts and then my drawer falls. I wouldn’t be surprised if they came up with a slightly different design. On the other hand, there’s a lot that I really love. Everything is a lot more visible with this and one of the reasons I liked the single door was for the big, wide area to put things like a pizza or a party tray. So that really comes in handy. I also like that on the door of the fridge, this one has metal railing, which I like way better than plastic. That’s what my last refrigerator had. I also love the pull-out freezer. I love that there’s a little tray basket top. That did have an issue where it rusted for some reason but they changed it out for me so it’s good. I appreciated that.

The house that my wife and I bought in 2016 has Viking appliances in the kitchen. The refrigerator was a 2012 model that was installed and purchased in 2013, so we were a little disappointed that it released all the Freon and was unrepairable by 2021. Were disappointed that though the Viking Refrigerator that we had to get fit in the space for the one that we had without having to redo cabinets, it no longer has a water dispenser in the door. That was a big letdown. We also had to replace the door seal on a dishwasher and Viking had stopped making replacement parts for it. We ended up replacing the entire dishwasher. The repair service is a real pain in Connecticut because theres only one authorized company. To get them out to actually look at our refrigerator, even on an emergency basis, was a matter of weeks.

I had my brand new Viking stove delivered on Nov. 28, 2012. I used the oven twice and, right before the holidays, around December 21st or so, my oven stopped working. Due to the holiday rush, I could only get the repairman from the store on December 26. He came, checked the stove and concluded that the spark unit needs to be replaced. Imagine that! Three weeks after the purchase, an essential part of the stove needs replacement. Today is January 7th, the store ordered the piece but Viking Company does not have it. It is on back order. The Gerhard Appliance store people have been reasonable but the Viking company has provided me with a useless appliance: a stove without a functioning oven and no part to replace the broken one. I am really angry and would never buy a Viking product again. I would like to return the stove and get my money back.

I’ve used Viking for several years. I’ve had a 16-inch Viking range in one house and had some other Viking and Jenn-Air appliances as well. But Ive always gone back to Viking. My wife likes them because the big Viking ranges have removable inserts so when we spill and things flow over on the gas ranges, we lift the grating off and then there’s a pan that we can lift out on the older ones that makes it much easier to clean. But in my current house, I bought a Viking surface gas range and it’s a pain in the ass because I can’t pull those pans out to clean them.I also have a non-built in refrigerator and I had it drop shipped to my house. I unpacked it, installed it myself, set it all up, and it’s perfect. I like the LED lighting in them. Its just a nice touch to it when I open the doors. Also, the handles have a substantial feel which at times, feel a little better than industrial feel. Others are still in boxes and they’re waiting to be installed. One’s a built in refrigerator, built in freezer, and a built in wine cooler. And I have a construction project going on right now so they’re not going to be installed for another four weeks if all goes smoothly. One of the reasons I’ve gone overboard with Viking is because when I went a local supplier where I’m at to look at Viking and they didn’t stock them any more They said, “Well, we actually just had to pull them out because we don’t do enough business here. Viking is consolidated per dealership network. And so I called another dealer and they said, “Yeah. We’ve been buying up all the demo Viking stuff and Viking bought stuff from other dealers ‘cause they’ve gone through a dealer consolidation. So I ended up going to a dealer in Dallas, Texas and buying most of my Viking appliances from them. We got a really good discount because they had been buying up inventory from other dealerships in this consolidation so my timing was right.Nonetheless, I spent over $20,000 but Ive got three refrigerators, a wine cooler, two stove tops, one gas, one induction, and one Viking wall oven and two Viking warming drawers. My wife absolutely loves the wall oven because they’re French doors, and she’s short. She’s burned herself on oven doors trying to reach into the oven to pull things out and so those French doors are phenomenal for short people because they can get right into the oven without having to reach over the door when they open the door down in a conventional oven. Ive already recommended them to a couple of friends that were remodeling their kitchens. I even told them where to go and a couple of dealerships that I worked with that gave really good pricing.

Im a chef and Ive been a Viking fan for the longest time. Ive been waiting to have it. I totally saved to have the money up to have a Viking kitchen. People come in and they go Wow. I dont know if theyre amazed by the performance or maybe the way it looks. Maybe it looks expensive, especially the microwave. I press the button and it pulls up and people freak out. I also have an oven and a fridge. My fridge is good and beautiful. It keeps the food fresh. Its classy and its nice. It has the part where if I wanna put the pizza in the bottom theres a storage for that. I love it however I got some issues that theyre supposed to take care of but because of the Coronavirus, I dont know what happened. Overall Viking is the best. They have a little competition there, but its not as good. What I like about Viking is it has a bold look to it and when you see it in the kitchen, it stands out. Im pretty happy and my kitchen is very exotic. I am satisfied all the way.

We built a new home and bought a Viking refrigerator floor model through a dealer. I had a built-in before, and I was happy with it, so I went with that particular refrigerator. I like the built-in because it’s not deep and things don’t get lost in the back of the refrigerator. I love my Viking refrigerator, but I’ve had eight or nine service calls on it and the people who came and serviced it have been excellent. When the refrigerator arrived, there was an issue with water coming out of the bottom of the door, and they replaced that, and then it wouldn’t make ice or water, so they changed out a harness, the water pump and the icemaker. It makes ice, but after they put in the new icemaker, the lever stops when the ice fills up, so a part was ordered and the people are coming this week to replace that. The dealer has been absolutely awesome on service and responsiveness and their staff has come out and dealt with every single problem I’ve had. However, I bought an eight-burner gas range through Pacific Kitchen & Home and I would not purchase through them again. When the range was delivered, the door needed adjustment and it’s been a nightmare to get somebody to come out through Pacific Kitchen to service it. I had to reach out to Viking directly to get any kind of service and they’re coming out this week as well. Hopefully, once everything is all in good working order, it’ll be well worth it. I also have a Viking dishwasher, which is fabulous and Im very happy with it.

The refrigerator is usually good. I also liked the size our refrigerator. We’re a little disappointed that it broke and to have a repair so quickly after moving in. The refrigerator stopped cooling, which is a pretty big thing for a high-end refrigerator. For appliances that are so expensive, we expect, number one, not to have as many necessary repairs as we have had in the past; and number two, we expect the experience to be more seamless when we do have that.

Before the start of our home construction, we asked our developer what appliances theyre going to have. They mentioned they were going to do a Viking Range. I did a bit of research and I thought the Viking would be sufficient. However, we were concerned with the first problem that we had. We had the range on August 28 and we noticed around Thanksgiving that the pilot light struggles into lighting when the oven would go out. It would make a lot of clicking sounds, and surely thereafter, it went out. Unfortunately, we didn’t fill out the warranty certificate at that time. We just moved into our new home. So immediately, we filled out the warranty and called Viking and their customer service team was extremely helpful. Their rep immediately put in the claim to the local service vendor. But the local service vendor was really, really slow. One, their availability to even come out here and look at the range, and then from that moment they identified the problem, they said they needed a new part and we didn’t hear anything from them for a week. We called back to ask the status of the new part, and they said that it’s still in order. At that point, I called Viking and asked if they can help and they expedited the process on their end. It took about a month and a half to get our range from the time it went out to the time that it was operational again. I did not fault Viking because they were very responsive. It was the local service providers which resulted in the delays. Overall, Viking is a good quality and very durable appliance.

This is the one and only online product review I have ever written, and in spite of the many that precede mine, I feel compelled to chime in and advise other consumers to avoid Viking refrigerators (and dishwashers too, for that matter) like the plague!! We spent 2 1/2 yrs. on a complete state-of-the-art rebuild of our official historic landmark Victorian, to which we returned in July, 2007. As a Realtor who specializes in the sale of luxury properties in the San Francisco Bay Area. I had been recommending top-of-line Viking products to clients who needed to refurbish and stage their homes for resale. Today, I feel badly for ever having done that!We have a built-in custom paneled upper/lower Viking fridge that acted up immediately. Within a matter of months, the fresh produce in the lowest pullout semi-froze and had to be discarded. I believe (but am not certain) that special heater was installed under warranty to prevent this from happening again. Before the year was out, another problem (forget the details) and was fixed. Then, right after the warranty expired, the contents of the freezer melted and we paid for the installation of another heater... At some point thereafter, water from the fridge started pouring out onto the hardwood kitchen floor. Thank God we were in town when this happened and able to towel up the leakage for a few days until another heater could be installed. The entire bottom of the unit was frozen solid, and the floor boards immediately against the unit had warped.. Under duress, Viking paid for this repair. Finally, within the past year, the cooling of the refrigerator compartment ceased and we were without refrigeration for 4 or 5 days before -- you guessed it -- yet another heater could be installed (the cooling ducts had frozen). Additionally, we got a recall notice for the defective front door. The dealer who enthusiastically sold the Viking appliances to us stated in response to my expression of distress & disgust: Demand a replacement from Viking. Theyve had nothing but problems with those refrigerators (and dishwashers) -- they suck! I requested a replacement, without success... As for the dishwasher, while all the interior components had to be replaced and I must basically hand wash everything and use the unit for sterilization purposes only, at least its performed better than the refrigerator. Enough said!

We bought our house about 5 years ago and it came with Viking appliances which we were excited about. The fridge worked great for a few years but about 2 years ago it started leaking water all over the floor. Huge pools of water would collect in the bottom of the freezer and freeze over, which prohibited us from closing the freezer door all the way. We had an authorized repairman come twice and they told us it was probably a clogged drain line. We got really tired of stepping into huge piles of water on our floor every few weeks and starting to damage our hardwood floors. After the 2nd repairman visit told us it probably wasnt going to get better we finally just got a new Kenmore fridge last week. Now we have an old Viking fridge sitting in our hall and Im wondering if we try to sell it on Craigslist at a deep discount as its a bit of a lemon. We also havent loved our dishwasher as even though we clean the drain at the bottom, it still starts to smell between washings. The oven and range work great, though!

Less than a year ago, when we needed a new refrigerator, we were talked into buying a new Viking (as opposed to a Sub Zero that served us so well after many years). Worked fine for the first 8 months or so but 3 weeks ago we realized that our freezer temperature (and then the refrigerator itself) was going up. It got up to almost 70 degrees. We quickly put in a call to dealer who sold and installed our refrigerator. They could not get to us for 3 days because of the Memorial Day week-end. We took everything out of the freezer and refrigerator and took them downstairs to a little portable unit. The service tech called us back the next day and told us to turn off the refrigerator/freezer and leave the doors open for 24 hours. The unit started working the next day so we put everything back in it. The service tech came and told us to keep things away from the vents and that would probably do it. Refrigerator/freezer worked for another 5 days and then it bombed out again. Once again we removed everything and brought it to the small unit downstairs. Once again, it took 3 days to get the service tech back. He put in new control boards and said everything was fine. And again, with great optimism, we moved everything back into the unit.Last night, while making dinner, the upper vent in the refrigerator started making a loud noise. I immediately grabbed my phone and took a video. The freezer temp was already at 16 degrees and going up. Guess what we did? We again moved everything out! We called the service tech right away and sent him the video. He will be here in 3 days. Obviously we are extremely discouraged about this $10,000 unit. And I am extremely tired of running to the little unit downstairs everytime I need something. Give us back our Sub-Zero!!!

I remodeled my kitchen in 2018 and purchased all Viking appliances. Less than 2 years later I already have problems with the dishwasher (the detergent door doesnt open during the wash cycle), the freezer stopped making ice and the door to my steam oven spontaneously shattered when I opened it. Whats most upsetting is Vikings attitude. I thought I was purchasing high quality appliances from a reputable company but thats not the way I feel anymore. Their customer service is terrible. They are slow to respond to emails and phone calls and truly dont seem interested in helping their customers or standing by their product.I had one service company they recommended come and leave with out fixing anything. The service tech said I should just put the detergent pod in the utensil holder and he glanced at the ice maker, said there was an ice cube stuck and declared it fixed. So here I am, a month later with nothing resolved. My biggest regret is not researching. Before you buy: research, get recommendations from friends, visit different appliance stores and talk to the sales people. And read reviews on web sites other than the brands site. I noticed Viking has no negative reviews on their site.

I love my Viking refrigerator very much. Its a side-by-side refrigerator-freezer and it has a lot of room. Its very easy to use and to put all my things in. We had a problem in the beginning when we got it delivered, spent a lot of money and then it stopped working. At first, somebody said the wires werent done correctly and that didnt fix it. So, when I called Airflow, their contractor, back and said my refrigerator needs a new motor, they came with that, put it in and the refrigerator has been absolutely perfect since then. Also, I got the gift for ordering my refrigerator. I chose Viking stainless steel cookware and its absolutely wonderful. It cleans well and cooks well. Its just lovely.

We remodeled our kitchen in May 2010 and installed a Viking professional 48-inch freestanding gas range. I rarely used the large oven since there are only two of us. On 11/15/13 the gas would not come on. The service company came out on 11/23 and ordered DSI module. The part was installed on 12/12. This was too late to bake Christmas cookies to send to my son in Afghanistan. I complained to Viking and they paid for the part. The labor was 250 dollars. On 12/5/14 my oven would not come on again. Last time the oven was used was two weeks prior. I called the repair shop and was told labor and part would be over 500 dollars. I called Viking and after considerable effort they agreed to cover parts and labor. But conveniently the part is on back order for 2-4 weeks. My son is finally home for Christmas after being in Afghanistan twice, Korea and other duty stations the last four Christmases. I will not be able to bake cookies for the holidays or Christmas dinner for him. I am so disappointed and hurt. We are very disappointed in the product. We spent over 10,000 dollars on it. Not to mention we own a large Viking grill. We expected a high-end product. I dont think thats what we got.

The look of the Viking refrigerator made us purchase from them. The quality is good, but it showed up dented in the front so I had to have the door replaced. Then, the freezer had some issues, but it all met the warranty. The repair guy came out four times already, so it has been easy to work the issues out. They have also been easy to schedule. The dealer we went with was okay, too.

Our new house came with the upgraded package of Viking, but the range never worked. The stove wouldn’t light and we couldn’t keep it lit. It took us almost a year of repeated people coming out. We couldn’t get it right and it was because of multiple things. When they put it in, they got the wrong backing and it took three different people just to get that right. It was a huge relief when Viking replaced the stove for us. I like the stove, but when its on the blower is so strong that I can’t put a low heat on my stove top. If I have the oven on, I can’t put low on the burners because the blower blows into the burners. The repair people that we had were polite and professional and I dont fault them in any way. It was one of them that helped me get the new range. But Im disappointed and I will never buy a Viking again.

Viking is American made, which I like. We have all-Viking in our kitchen, other than the refrigerator. Then, we needed a new refrigerator, so we bought a Viking. But the freezer is not working properly and it has been going on for a few weeks now. Their people already came out twice to try and fix it but they have been unsuccessful and they’ve replaced a part the last time. Other than that, the Viking reps are very nice and cooperative. We’ve got other Viking appliances that work extraordinarily well. We have a Viking oven, a cooktop, and a microwave and they’re great. There just needs to be an adjustment in the operation of the condenser of the refrigerator. I’m not happy now. I spent $10,000 for the refrigerator and I expect it to work properly.

Im enjoying my Viking Refrigerator. It has great lighting. The shelf space has a nice arrangement. Theres a lot of storage on the doors. I was particularly interested in a drawer freezer, and a one door upper unit versus side by side and it fit the bill. I also was interested in customizing the front of the fridge and it was able to accommodate that as well. I had a problem with one of the door shelves, and it was replaced. So that was fine.

We were doing a total renovation and I looked at a variety of options. I like that overall the Viking had the features I was looking for. Im looking for the long-range sort of usage of it and its value holding up including some point reselling the home and whatever. We really liked the double oven feature part of the range. One time, we had a problem where a light would not turn off in one of the switches. They had somebody come out and troubleshoot it. It took them a while to figure out what was going on with that but they were very good about getting right back to us and servicing that. And it is under warranty. But even so, I felt like in any event, they would have addressed whatever the issues were. So far, weve had an excellent experience with them.

Viking installed it improperly so we had to change the doors. When the doors came, they were all scratched. We had to get a brand-new Viking fridge and there were all these scratches on the doors, which was unacceptable. But they brought new doors and they just didnt balance them.I filled out a form, I registered online, and Viking Refrigerators called me a local company and weve been playing phone tag. I am extremely frustrated with my viking appliances. We saved a long time to purchase the best I thought at the time to be viking. I purchased the microwave, dishwasher, and range. From the very first month I had nothing but problems!! I have never been able to use the stove. It had to be repaired from day one. Cant bake cookies - one side is done, the other burnt. What is sad is that I a have brand new stove and cant use it. Last Thanksgiving I had a half done turkey with 20 people waiting to eat dinner. This is after it was repaired for the 5th time. Now it is Thanksgiving again and I cant use my brand new stove and have to go rent one because my Stove is not working again. The repairman informed me that the part had to be back ordered. Are they Kidding!! With a company their size and how expensive their unusable appliances are, you would think they would have a little replacement part that they could fed-ex the next day especially when they know it is close to a holiday, especially Thanksgiving. The microwave didnt work either and had to be replaced and it still doesnt work, it continually kicks a breaker. We have lived in our house 20 years and never had a breaker problem with our old microwave. Also the knobs on the front of the stove are a fire hazard, if someone even brushes up against them they will turn on. Afraid for the kids.. I would like to take my overly expensive VIKING APPLIANCES that are nothing but junk straight to the city dump. I would NEVER purchase anything that is VIKING again!

I own a heat and air company so we work on these refrigerator units and Viking is a middle-grade nice refrigerator. Then other brands, like Sub-Zero, have two pieces of refrigeration. They have a separate unit for a freezer. So I chose Viking. Besides, the floor-plan price for this unit was $7,500. I was going there thinking I was gonna spend about $17,000. But I bought this from Plugs and although this one is normally $12,000, the guy there said he would sell it to me for 7,500 bucks. I told him I didnt want a year-old model. I wanted to have a new one and he said that it was a brand new model. But I later found out that it was a year- or two-year-old unit sitting on the floor. The way it was sold to me is my only problem. But as far as the unit itself, it’s fine. I like everything about it.When we had a water leak problem, I had my son go look at it and it was bad water inlet valve. It was no big deal. But when I called the factory, they said that it was not under warranty. I told them that it was though. It was brand new and it had not been in the house for four weeks at the time. It took three months but I finally got a water inlet valve. The salesman from Plugs got involved with his Viking representative so he got it for me. However, if I have a problem tomorrow, what’s gonna happen with my warranty? I gotta call that dude back now at Plugs and ask about that. But now, I’m having a problem with everything freezing on the front shelf. It’s just on the top shelf though, where the air blows out of the evaporator. And they have a fix and it doesn’t cost me anything. I recently found out Viking actually makes a piece of duct, that I just need to call in the factory to get.

Placed an order for Model RVGR33015BSS from Us Appliance. It was shipped by one carrier and brought to Denver. The order was then moved to another carrier for the trip to Trinidad Colorado. I went to the carrier and picked up the oven (we live in a rural area). Upon inspection of the box for visible damages I found none. I did not open the box. The box was unloaded at my house by me, and we took the oven inside... we noticed the door was open on the oven but when we got into the house we found that the brackets that held the outer door to the inner door were broken and the outer door was hanging by some screws. I notified US Appliance with pictures. They came back and told me that I had damaged the oven and it was my problem. I contacted Viking and my customer rep told me there was not much she could do. I was told because I picked up the stove at the shippers; it was my responsibility. There was no other damage to the stove. One small dent on the bottom of the front kick plate that was not visible. My wife and I decided to go forth and repair the oven ourselves. I had a local welding shop, reweld the brackets on the front door panel, we purchased a new piece of glass and reinstalled the door ourselves. FYI the spot welds that held the brackets on were at best way too small and the welds did not penetrate into the parent metal.I also noticed the oven would not light, so I took the cover plate off and inspected the spark for the oven part found the cover plate was installed incorrectly and the spark was grounding on the frame. I took the cover plate to my shop and increased the size of the hole by 1/2 and repaired the spark boot and it is working better. However I did notice the oven will not light from the convection bake position. I have to start the oven in bake and after it gets hot move it to convection (I think the fan caused a draft).Im disappointed in US alliance and will not do business with them in the future. We love our rebuilt stove. Serial number 111715C10200028. Im giving it two stars because I think the stove may have been damaged at the factory, and the stove could have been packaged better. It was placed on a pallet with flimsy straps. It is possible that the unit was damaged by a shipper but there are no marks on the box indicating a fork from a forklift got into the wrong place.

The Viking range is a known quality item. Ive never purchased an appliance thats expensive as all this stuff is. Viking did a pretty amazing job explaining everything and it was a whole another level of service that Ive never experienced in appliances before. They also sent over a wonderful service person who diagnosed everything and did a great job. We have had the range for about two months and it seemed kinda cool. It doesnt have a lot of unnecessary garbage on it. It just has what you need and it does what its supposed to do very quickly. It heats up quickly and makes the soup very quickly. My girlfriend loves it and shes the one who cooks. My girlfriend would recommend Viking Ranges. Last night our Viking oven decided to self ignite, which resulted in a 911 call (electrical fire). The oven was off, and had we not been in the house, or in bed, then the situation could have been much more serious. I contacted Viking directly (this morning) to report the incident, but I am not entirely convinced that Viking is really that concerned - in fact the response was somewhat casual. They were more concerned about whether the warranty was valid.A colleague of mine had a similar issue a few weeks ago - oven (a Viking) self ignited. Again, this resulted in a 911 call. I got the impression that Viking arent too concerned, however, I would like to use this review as a warning to other Viking users to check your oven - make sure you know how to isolate the gas and power to the appliance - make sure your smoke detectors are working - make sure you have a fire extinguisher and is rated for an electrical fire!

The motherboard of our last Viking fridge died the first two weeks we owned it. The fridge was a lemon from the get-go and we spoke with Viking and they said, “No, it doesn’t need replacing. We’ll replace the motherboard.” Unfortunately, it was a lemon of a fridge. We’ve had at least seven issues with it and the week before Christmas, it just gave up and that was weeks after having it repaired. I went with Viking again this time because the built-in fridge had to be the same size to fit in the box, the old Viking location. Their rep was unbelievable. Since it was before Christmas, they gave us a loaner at no charge and he did his utmost to find us a replacement fridge so that we wouldn’t have to reconstruct the box. He found one in the States but it cant cross the border because it had the Viking nameplate on it. In Canada, it’s called Brigade so we ended up having to pay $2500 more. The rep did everything. He called and said, “They will not allow the one to go over the border and now this one in Canada is going to cost $2500 more.” I said, Okay this is now a scam. He said, “Absolutely not. You can cancel your order. You can keep the loaner fridge however long it takes to find a fridge.” He was very good. So far, the new Viking fridge has been in for two and a half weeks and it has been fine. It is super bright compared to the old one and I like the feature where you can put a pizza box or platter of food. We purchased one in December and it was installed in January.

This refrigerator was purchased in 2012, along with five other stainless Viking appliances. No problems with them. Viking says there is no recall and my warranty has expired. I purchased a separate Viking VCFB304 fridge and freezer model from Designer Home Surplus in Dallas, Texas four years ago. For the last year, we have been having problems with an alarm going off intermittently, more commonly at about three or four in the morning. I contacted a general appliance service center in my city and they came out and unsuccessfully tried to fix the problem. After this experience, I contacted another service center and this time searched for an authorized Viking repair technician. This repair center was very professional. They came out, knew the product and the problem I was dealing with. However, there was a problem! The units I had purchased from had been stripped of their ID Tags with model and VIN ID tag. For this reason, the authorized Viking repair tech could not work on my product as it was either a written off product or stolen. Both units, fridge and freezer, had the same issue.I contacted the retailer I purchased them from Designer Home Surplus and spoke to their customer service rep, and they told me that I should try another service company. I contacted Viking and explained my problem. I forwarded them a copy of my purchase invoice to prove I bought them. They didnt have much interest that their authorized Viking dealer might be selling written off merchandise, and they didnt really have an answer on what to do next but that I should contact the retailer. My fridge still is not fixed and I have been told it is being looked into. I asked them to authorize their authorized tech to fix the problem in the meantime not expecting it to be under warranty, just wanting to pay to fix my problem and use my fridge, but they wont make a call to authorize it. I would throw this unit in the trash but its built in to my custom kitchen cabinets, so this is not an option as my kitchen was built to accommodate these horrible appliances.

I’m an architect so I’m familiar with Viking Ranges through my profession. They had a promotion where they’re offering a free dishwasher with the range and that kind of sealed the deal. In terms of the quality of construction and the materials it weighs almost 400 pounds. My only issue was the control knob on the oven. Even though it’s a very sturdy unit the shaft that held that onto the actual control was made out of cast metal. I just thought personally it was a poor choice of materials but they are fixing it under warranty. It’s actually done through Viking and one of their local representatives. When I had the warranty issue I contacted Viking directly in Mississippi and they were responsive and they had the issue resolved in a day. We had Sub-Zero in our previous house and we were thinking about buying Sub-Zero again but Viking had a promotion, which was if you bought so many appliances, for every dollar over $10,000 that you spent, you get a 10% rebate. It pushed the cost in our favor so we got their unit. The first fridge that they sent had some damages on it and was making a loud noise. The damages were in the white parts on the inside of the unit, and it was something they could not repair. ApppliancesConnection.com, the place where I bought the unit, asked me to send pictures, and I did all that. Then, they sorted all that to the Viking rep. Viking made me an offer, but it was not a large enough discount to make me want and take it. I told them that if they want to make a more substantial financial offer, I would consider taking the damaged one. However, they never got back to me. I had to chase them down for weeks. I called again and again and they told me that the woman who was working on it doesnt do that anymore. Finally, I was like, “You know what, forget it, I’m not taking the offer. Just come out and replace it.” So they came out and took care of its replacement and the new one they sent has been fantastic. Overall, Im satisfied with my experience. Everything got handled pretty quickly and got fixed. However, if there was any way that Vikings could make a refrigerator that has filtered water, that would be a bonus. That was the only feature that we could not get in the Viking fridge and we really miss having it.

Our Viking refrigerator was purchased in 2002. The side-by-side style and drawer system looked great when purchased. In the first year under warranty, the bottom slide-out drawers and hinges snapped off and broke several times. The tracking was replaced as well as the entire drawer system. The motor broke, drawers cracked, compressor broke and the sealer to the door replaced. I think everything was replaced in the first year. Now that its 2013, every side holder on the door side are held together with duck tape. The ice maker stopped working a long time ago. Drawers lost their handles - all broken off. Compressor is out and the bottom drawer a joke. Doors dont stay closed. The alarm goes off randomly when it wants to have to get out of bed to press the alarm off button several times a day. We still have the recall replacement hinges for the doors uninstalled as of yet. Apparently, the doors can fall off randomly and hurt people. Viking offered a discount for a new refrigerator if we decide not to get the hinges replaced. However, I am not sure that will solve any future problems. We should have purchased the competitors brand, which was slightly higher in price. Tried to see if they would offer anything more than the 1 year warranty. Nothing offered except a discount on a new one.

I have owned my Viking oven for 13 years. I purchased the oven because of the Viking name and quality. Unfortunately, I have had 3 costly repairs and I am now faced with a fourth repair after a self-cleaning cycle broke the oven lock. The trouble is compounded by the fact that I cannot finding a repair person in the area willing to help. I have contacted 2 companies that have said they would call me with info about repair and neither has returned a call. Disappointed to now have 4 costly repairs on a very expensive appliance.

The product (Viking VGIC 3054BSS gas range) was flawed from the day it was delivered. Factory installed one natural gas orifice and one LPG orifice. This company has no regard for its owner base. Try calling to ask for technical information: its basically, Go to hell, we dont care if it doesnt make us money. There is nothing that would make me want to recommend any product from Viking. Frankly, I think either FTC or CPSC should investigate. Who owns this company and what in the world makes them think they can stiff owners the way they do?

I’ve been saving for a Viking Range for about three years. I got a gas range and I love how hot the burners are. There’s a burner in the front on the right and it’s a high heat for woks. I cook a lot so that’s what I enjoy about it. I love the quality and the range goes great with all my stainless steel appliances. I also wanted to get the microwave. It matched it, but HHGregg went out of business and I haven’t been to another appliance store yet to purchase it.

Our Viking Range was only 4 years old when a tiny part in the electronic panel broke in half. After searching for many hours for someone willing to come and fix it, we were told that most likely the whole electronic panel would have to be replaced. Not satisfied with this, we continued our research and found that this defect was very common, and that the $20 dollar part could be purchased and replaced quite easily. We found someone that ordered the part (he was the one that told us that this was quite common and that a recall should have been done on our model of range).Since being fixed, the control knob has never worked very well and was quite finicky to turn the oven on. Now, after owning this range for only 5 years, the circuit board has shorted out. Rather than spend a dime on fixing this, I would rather just throw it out and buy a new and more simply made range. DO NOT waste your money on Viking products. They do not stand behind their appliances and it is nearly impossible to find someone that will waste their time fixing them. Go with something that can be easily fixed as I believe all appliances nowadays are designed to fail hours after their warranty has expired.
