Ive known Viking from many years ago in the food service business. I wasn’t going with the Viking Refrigerator, but with the Viking cooktop. Both appliances came as a package deal and the sales pitch was one item would be free, so it was easier for me to do that. I would have never gone with Viking for my refrigeration purchase. I’ve been using the refrigerator for about a month now and it appears very sturdy and I feel its gonna last. It also appears to do a great job to have the room that I thought it did for its size. I also like the digital controls on top that tells me what’s going onPeople have to understand the options that come with their Viking Refrigerator, like the ice maker versus non-ice maker, down to if they have water filtration for access to waterspouts. Viking is really there when you’re looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. I had the direct vent and it hasn’t worked since day one. After three months, they finally decided to replace it. I saved my money for a very long time for those items and they are the biggest expense Ive ever made on appliances. It was quite depressing knowing that Viking didn’t stand by some of their equipment. So, be cautious.

There have still been some installation problems, but we’re working on it. The range does not sit all the way in because the gas hookup isn’t compatible with a spec home. So theres a three-inch gap between the range and the wall. We were told by Nebraska Furniture Mart, which is where we bought the range, that we needed to get an L joint to connect it and push it further back. But they havent been able to do that. Theyve given us absolutely no guidance in what to do about it now. Changing it from a connector that comes up through the floor is simply not an option. According to our builder, its not usual to put the gas line through the floor. It’s usual to put it through the wall because ranges normally have a dead space at the bottom. Apparently, Viking does not. It’s not my first Viking, so I dont know why it never happened before. Nebraska Furniture Mart has been zero help. So we’re working with our builder to see what we can do. The range is not flushed against the wall. So when the automatic fan comes on, it vibrates like crazy. We’ve built several houses and we’ve had Viking range before. We like it and it’s a good range. We’ve never had any problems with the actual functioning of the range.

People say that Viking Ranges have good stoves and cooktops. Id say its high quality and Im happy so far. The simmer feature is nice, it heats up very quickly. One thing that Im not satisfied about is that I dont have that option of a griller anymore. Now its just a griddle, and I dont like it. But, beyond that, performance and everything else, Im very happy.

I wanted a 36-inch range with six burners, but not so many people made them back then. Ive had one from Viking Ranges and have liked it. So, I recently bought a new one at Best Buy and the team there was great. However, my first one was made so much nicer and everything was heavier. They dont make ranges like they used to now, though I would be perfectly satisfied with it if I never had my first one.

We bought brand new Viking appliances for our kitchen when we moved into our new house. And our experience with the Viking dealer was not too great. They weren’t too knowledgeable or overly friendly. They were just okay. We chose the Viking refrigerator for the price but the quality is poor. The ice maker didn’t work correctly and it makes a strange noise. In fact, we’ve had trouble with all the Viking appliances that we’ve had.

If anyone has any knowledge of how to start a class action suit, you can count me in. I have had this range for 5 years and it has been nothing but trouble. The broiler igniters initially didnt work and repairmen tried to fix it two times. It worked intermittently and when I called Viking about it again, they said the warranty had expired (even though it was a problem during the warranty period) and they would do nothing about it. Now, the burner for baking is malfunctioning causing explosions that burst open the door because it only partially ignites the gas. I cant believe what a piece of junk this is. Our repairman advised us that it would be a waste of time to replace the bake burner and door hinges (which dont hold the door tight to the frame because the springs cant support the weight of the door) because something else is going to go wrong. He said to buy a new oven.

I was online looking for a dual-range stove, dual-fuel, and I came across Viking. I know people have them and are very happy with them so I went with them too. The quality was great and I love it. The biggest thing that sold me on the Viking was the burners, just being able to turn them on without having to program anything. That was one of the big features. And I have cats, so they walk on top of the stove. Most stove controls are on top but the quality of the Viking, the BTUs, the way it cooks and everything, it’s great and I really enjoy it. It has been a great experience.

Installed a Viking kitchen including dishwasher 4 years and 11 months ago. Dishwasher failed just short of 5 years. Viking service came out & advised that electrical components, wiring harness and rubber seal failed. I paid $180 for service call and Viking refused to help in any way to repair the dishwasher. Service advised me that replacement was the only practical option as multiple repairs necessary would be cost prohibitive. We are very disappointed in Viking quality (except for range). Purchase Viking products at your own risk is my advice. Many better options are available in the price range they market their products in.

Over the years I’ve always wanted to get a Viking range. We moved back to America about five years ago and I went to remodel the kitchen, and that’s when I purchased one. The look is very nice. There’s a couple of quirks on it ‘cause when it came, the knobs were all put in the wrong thing. I didn’t know what was going on when we turned the stove on. I couldn’t understand why we couldn’t turn it smoothly from one adjustment to the other. We came to find out that the back of these knobs were put on wrong. So when the service guy came out, he looked at it and changed the knobs. As far as working with the Viking people, they’ve been very good and the service is top-notch.One of the things Ive noticed is its difficult to see the numbering on the Viking oven on what you want to set it to since its chrome and it is very shiny. When we turn the oven on to 350, we can’t tell when the light goes on or off when it becomes 350. We wait for five minutes and it should be there. We’re trying to get a little external temperature thing to put on there. Other than that, it’s really nice and it gets hot really fast. We like it a lot.

I purchased my brand new Viking stove on May 30, 2018. It is now August 21 and I still have not been able to use my oven. The first day we put the food in the oven it was making a loud motor like sound. I immediately called Viking and they told me they will have a service repair come to my house to see what the problem was. Their service only comes every 2 weeks so I waited for them to come then waited another 2 weeks for the part to arrive. By the time they actually came which was 3 hours later than the scheduled time the repairman wasn’t able to install it. He said he would come back the following week so again I waited for my next appointment all day long for no one to show up. Finally the following week they came back and installed a new fan and 2 days later it’s making the same noise again. I spoke to Viking customer service plenty of times and they said this was my only option. I have left messages for someone with higher authority to call me and they never call. I am so disgusted at this point and I still have a stove that doesn’t work. I am shocked with their customer care. I would never ever recommend a Viking to anyone.

I have several friends who have Viking Ranges and they all have raved about it. I use it often at their lake houses, vacation homes, and homes. I purchased mine from Elite Appliances in Dallas and my personal contact was Jeff. He was the most responsive vendor I’ve ever worked with. He would follow up on a regular basis via email, phone call, and text messaging. I was very impressed with him. He really took me on as a very personal customer and he was very good about understanding what I really needed. I was buying five or six different Viking pieces which was a big order that I’m sure was small to him. The product quality is exceptional and the range itself is very sturdy and more commercial like.

I cannot seem to get my range repaired and no one at Viking seems to care. Six weeks out and no action taken. When I use the oven, the face plate holding the knobs heats up so bad you cannot touch them. Viking repair said they may install a blower behind the plate to expel the heat but after six weeks, I am about to give up. Seems to be a major design flaw to me. I sure learned a lesson about Viking. Beware.

Viking is a good product and it looks beautiful but the functionality is a big problem. I bought a high-end oven, thinking that it would be more efficient and Id be able to get better use out of it. Instead, Im having a problem with this brand-new and expensive oven thats over $5,000 after having it for less than two months. Ive bought a lot of different appliances in my time and Ive never run into a problem with an appliance immediately. I asked my husband to preheat the oven and he had to shut it off because it wasnt turning on and there was a gas smell in the house. Also, the microwave is a little weird. The fan has two speeds but it certainly sounds the same to me. I reached out to where I purchased the oven from and they sent somebody to service it.

But once I paid, I was had a hard time getting updates on the delivery date. Another thing was the range was too expensive. Other than that, the design of the range fits my kitchen and my cooking style. I do quite a bit of stir-frying so a high BTU range helps quite a bit. I also like the amount of flame that comes out. Were purchasing a new house and we wanted to replace all the old appliances with new ones. Weve always had other types of refrigeration but since we were also looking at enhancing the resale value of the house, we considered upgrading to Viking for the new home. Weve had issues with their refrigerator so we had it replaced. The new refrigerator we received needs a new panel because there were some dents in the delivery, but that is more on the delivery and the installation, rather than the actual product itself. They will be replacing the panels free of charge since its under warranty but its a little inconvenient because someone has to be at home. We have to leave for work and we have a baby.A lot of Viking products, including their refrigeration, are not necessarily standard size or there are certain components that need to be installed properly so it needs a special kind of installation to make sure that they fit. So theres a gap between the retail sale and the actual installation of the product. It ended up being a pain for us in receiving our Viking package because it wasnt installed properly initially and then we had to get the installers. We also ended up waiting from September until January to get the kitchen appliances all right so, my husband and I are now thinking why we didnt go with the higher end LG line that recently came out or some of the higher end Samsung or Bosch appliances or something that’s not necessarily a Viking or Wolf or Jenn-Air, but still in the big-box type chain. We dont know if we would do it again.

My wife wanted Viking, and she got Viking. We’ve had the refrigerator for a month and everything’s great, but one part was damaged during delivery. The inside of the door was mangled where the light is for the temperature and I can hear the refrigerator making a gurgling sound when the house is perfectly quiet. Viking sent somebody out and the guy couldn’t come out until after I had to go to work. Although the door was replaced and its perfect, the noise is still there. The guy told my wife that it was Freon running through the tubes, and I don’t know if it’s even that. It could be that it’s water running through my heating system, but I never heard it before. My heating system makes noise, but the plugs for the heater are in the wall behind the refrigerator. I never heard that sound until our refrigerator was installed and Im not satisfied. I’m being told it’s a normal noise and I wanna make sure. If it’s normal, I’ll learn to live with it.

Our house was on fire and we had deadlines on different things to get done. We needed the liquid propane and so instead, we got natural gas and had to do the conversion and had to get reimbursed by the dealer. It was not a pleasant experience. Our house had a Viking Range in it so we had to buy a Viking Range to replace it. However, the dealers were terrible. We went to two different places and they both wanted to sell me something that isn’t in stock. They told me, “Oh, yeah. We can get it and we’ll have it in such and such period of time.†Then they wait 24 hours or so and then called me and said, “Oh, I am sorry. We just learned that this is backordered and you’re not gonna get it until hell freezes over.†So I canceled one order with one dealer, then went to another one but they pulled the same stunt on us. But it was nice that we got an extra microwave and a 5% rebate, both offered by Viking. Also, I like the small oven and the hood.

I was looking for refrigeration, and I was doing renovations. I went online. I had wanted to upgrade from what I currently had, which was the JennAir Professional Series. I wanted something on the Wolf or Viking line. I did not go with Wolf because I could not afford the Sub-Zero Refrigerator. So, I decided to go with Viking. I looked at the reviews. I had ordered it from an appliance shop. Then I went to Ferguson Showroom to see what it looked like because the appliance shop didnt have a display. I knew it was looking like what I wanted it to look like. When I went to Ferguson, they didnt have any Viking on their floor. The salesperson said, “You know what, Latrina, I wish you would have came to us first because our customers had so many problems with Viking. We had to take it off our floor as display items.†I said, “Well, frankly, I wont have these problems.†So, I got the product. But I couldnt have the contractors in because of COVID, so I had the products here for a while. So, they installed them, and now its about the eighth month. My microwave already went out. The refrigerator handles are not so nice. The guy who came and fixed the microwave also had to tighten up the handles. At the top of the refrigerator shelf, you can set it to different levels. At the very top, it’s freezing my food. I cant set it to go any lower than the level that it’s at. Viking needs to revamp.

I’ve known about Vikings Refrigerator for years. They were in my family growing up and I liked their dependability. I like the design of the unit I have. But I had a poor experience with my Viking dealer, an online dealer. I purchased from a company called Appliances Connection and theyre out of New Jersey while I’m in Atlanta. I knew exactly the model I wanted and did everything online. But there were problems with the communication between the sales representative when I ordered the unit and the shipping department, and theres the need or knowledge of being service oriented. It was committed to me that it going to be a white glove delivery experience and that the old refrigeration unit would be removed. But when the delivery people got here, they dropped the Viking Refrigerator in my front door and left. I wasn’t able to inspect it and I had to struggle and had to pay them additional cash to be able to get the old unit removed. Other than that, the overall quality of the refrigerator is great.

We wanted a high-end range. We needed something ultra dependable and something with great reviews. I cook a lot and I use good quality pots and pans. We use a lot of cast iron skillets and Le Creuset. Everything thats out there right now is even broken in the store. We went to Lowes a couple of times and the grates of some of their higher end ranges were snapped in the store. It was pretty dumb. Another big factor for us is we did not want a display board. Our previous couple ranges had that kind of electronic stuff and we wanted dials we could turn. We understand there are electronics in there but I dont need a pizza setting or anything like that. We bought the Viking range professional model so its an open burner and we love it. We are now calling it the turbo stove and turbo oven because the stuff cooks so fast. But we had to have a guy come out and check it because some of the igniters werent igniting right away on the stove. When we would turn it off, it would go poof and there is a big flash of flame. We had converted to propane. He checked everything and said it was fine. He explained something about the valve that lets the gas in is further back so we are gonna have that. Its not a problem though as it’s not dangerous. Its just something that had to get used to. And then the guy figured out what we could do where it wont poof. Right now, I have a Le Creuset on the stove and I’m making a bone broth. If I put the two back burners on the simmer function, it’s really nice and low. My broth simmers nicely. It kinda huffs but it doesn’t do that on the front burners. I got a huge stockpot on a front burner. It’s in the lowest setting and its beautiful. Our range works fantastically but it is different from what we were used to. Were adaptable though. We’re gladly working with it. Also, the range doesnt have a timer but Im okay with that. I baked a sourdough loaf this morning and it’s beautiful. The oven is consistently 25 degrees off according to my Amazon internal cheapo thermometer in there. But were also at 4,200 feet. As long as I know that its 25 degrees off, I can deal with that. Our last range was all digital and it was so unpredictable. Thats why we wanted something predictable. Our Viking range is, so far. It’s beautiful and it’s a work of art.

I have owned Viking for the last 15 years, in 4 different homes. One of my kitchens is a full suite of Viking appliances, with a 48 range oven. In the past 5 years Ive moved three times, and each move I purchased a Viking range, to make me feel like home. Over the course of the last 5 years, I was able to experience the changes, primarily changes to cut costs, but the warranty was 3 years, something that Viking was very proud of. So, I continued to purchase with confidence. In May of 2014, I purchased a range with a 5-year warranty, which remained at my old address. My last range purchase was Oct. 2017, which I believed to have the normal 3-year warranty. I had to change the oven fan last year, which is an ongoing problem with Viking. There are also ongoing issues with their oven doors and grates, which prompted my call to Viking customer service today. I wanted to schedule service for the continuous problem with the fan, the oven door which does not close properly, discoloration on the stainless lip that meets the burners, unsafe oven racks. The customer rep that took my call, was rude and told me my warranty was expired. I told her my range is less than 2 years old. I was shocked when I learned that my warranty was up, and with her rudeness and dismissiveness. She told me that Viking changed the warranty program and that I should read my manual. I then called the company I purchased from and they confirmed the 1-year warranty and that I should have read my warranty before purchase.I feel as though Viking has been dishonest with customers who are repeat customers and familiar with them. There was no way for me to know about this change unless the salesperson made me aware of it, and they may have not known themselves. At the time of this purchase for the range or for any purchase of any appliance, which I have bought my fair share of, I have never been given manuals to read before purchase. Ive always relied on my experience with products, companies and salespeople. This is disappointing as I have nowhere to go and this point, no one ever contacted me with perhaps purchasing an extended warranty either. Im confident that Im not the only consumer whos experienced this surprise in the last 2 years. And Im also confident that customers whove spent well over 30K in repeat business would be treated better than a buyer beware clause.

They use 3rd parties who dont care about anything, except to bill Viking. They allege to have fixed their issues and service with the ownership, but that BS as the product is not impressive and the service is a zero. I gave 2 stars for the products good looks, but its all downhill after that, especially after 13k spent! Pos note: Customer Service lady was friendly/respectful.

Weve only had the Viking Range for a couple of weeks. In another home in North Carolina, we’ve got a Wolf stove in there. The same company makes Wolf and Vikings but we wanted the Viking Range as it was the best fit for our kitchen in our new house. The dealer was great. On the day that we were supposed to get the range, they pulled the old one out and my husband realized that he had told them the wrong kind of gas fittings that we needed. The dealer, Cummins, told my husband that the one they had fittings on the floor, the one he had looked at, had actually the right ones. So they went ahead and connected that one instead. In the end, they were able to make sure were getting the right thing. So far, Ive been loving the Viking Range. Everything about it is great. I like the way the burners come off. It’s quiet and seamless. Its oven takes the “tsk, tsk, tsk’’ then winks a couple of seconds for it to come on. Everything’s instantaneous. The dials, the knobs and everything’s easy to figure out. Overall, the range is really well done.

I thought Viking was a good and well-made product so I picked it over others. The reps in the store were great. They were very knowledgeable. I love that the shelves roll out but I don’t think the heat’s accurate. I had to keep another thermometer inside as I cook. The overall experience was pleasant but the range is just okay, not great.

After I bought Viking appliances, Ive been having problems, and the products are less than two years old. In the first year, we had a problem with the dishwasher. Something went wrong. But they came out and fixed it. Then we had a problem with the refrigerator. The heater for the ice maker didnt work, so there was water pooling at the bottom and then flat out. They came and they changed the heater one time. Then a week later, the same thing, water was coming out again. They said there was some piece over there that was missing. I was disappointed. A $10,000 refrigerator, and within two years, we have problems. For products like these, it should have a longer warranty than one year. But I like it. It has all the features that I need. Its a stainless steel finish but it has a scratch. Theres a stainless steel repair kit that I have to get to polish it back to before.

Weve had issues with our Viking refrigerator coming with a leak in the line, so it wasn’t very good. They sent a product that didnt work. We had to have them come out and repair it right away before people could even move into the house. We were selling the house. I called Viking, and then they set me up with the two people that work on Viking in the area.

I called up and they said, “No. Its not here.†And then they said it would be on this date. When I called them up again it still was not there. So, there was a delay action and then when the individual said, “Oh, we don’t get shipments in on this particular dayâ€, in reality, yes, they did.

The current situation with Viking is an oven relay that has been backordered for over six weeks. Considering the poor quality of Viking appliances, their parts department should be overstocked. The Viking refrigerator is even worse. Egg bin door broken. Deli drawer (big drawer on bottom) broken twice. Have not replaced it yet because it costs over $500 for this plastic piece. Never will I buy Viking again and I tell anyone and everyone not to do so.

I have a double electric built-in oven approximately 11 months old. The temperature has never worked properly, and in August, I had a technician come out to regulate the temperature. In the process, we realized the convection feature did not work properly in the top oven (and later also in the bottom oven). After two trips to regulate the temperature, the technician also ordered a new fan for the convection portion. Shortly after that, we told him to order a bottom fan as well, as that was not properly working either. He called and told me the fan would take three weeks to arrive from the factory. I asked if it was in China, and he said no, he got parts faster from China than he did from Viking in the Midwest!!I had bought the oven from Albert Lee Appliance in Bellevue, WA. I called their service department initially to complain about the temperature, and they put me in touch with the local technician, who is excellent! I never had any follow-up call from Albert Lee to see if I was being taken care of. As time progressed, and the parts had not arrived, I again called Albert Lee service, and later the salesman I bought the oven from to ask for their help. The salesman referred me to to his service department, and they said they would look into it. After three weeks, and another call to the service department, I have never heard from Albert Lee.I finally called Viking, and after three re-routings of my call, was connected to the rep in Southern California, who told me to call the Northwest rep. He returned my call the next day, and promised to get the parts overnight so my oven would work. After a week and a half, and no parts forthcoming, he called and said he would replace the oven with a new one. He did mention receiving an email notification about bad convention fans in wall-mounted ovens (which I knew from three weeks prior from the technician!). At any rate, I am now awaiting a new oven (no delivery date yet). I would NOT recommend Viking to anyone based on my experience with their sloppy, untimely repair issues. I do have a Viking cooktop, and am happy with it, but hold my breath if something goes wrong with it after this experience. Also, I would not recommend Albert Lee Appliance to anyone, for their lack of customer care, and general lack of any follow-through on customer complaints. They sell and forget, it seems, so I will buy there no more.

I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven abo
I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven about 4 years ago. Since this was for a major renovation to our personal home, we decided on what was easily the most expensive appliances weve ever purchased. I liked that they are American Made, and figured that certainly Viking would stand behind their highest end products, and I wouldnt have to wait weeks for replacement parts from overseas (if I ever needed them). What a BAD DECISON! Since installing the Oven, weve had to pay for replacement of the main circuit board in the oven two times. Now for the Refrigerator: DDSB483DS6. This is the most expensive yet, WORST appliance I have ever purchased. (Im a builder, remodeler, and property manager- so believe me, Ive purchased many refrigerators in my career). The Ice Maker has been replaced twice. The chute where the ice drops from the ice maker to the door does not accept the shape of the ice, so it constantly gets stuck- and definitely DO NOT USE the crushed ice feature as it will freeze and clog this chute! The next hour or so the ice in the chute then melts and drips into the small holding tray which does not drain into the pan below the fridge, so it overflows and runs down the front of the fridge and onto the floor. Further, the pan below the fridge has continuously filled up to overflowing since day 1. To address this we had to create a calendar reminder to empty the pan every 3 days. If not, the water overflows onto the floor!Needless to say, my wood floor in front of the fridge is completely ruined. Over multiple service calls by the Viking Factory recommended repair company(s) to address this, weve purchased a recommended $500 heater element designed to evaporate the water from the pan, and multiple other expensive suggested repairs- all to no effect! It got to the point that I had a drain tube installed from the pan that leads the water outside the house! The latest unpleasant experience began in September 2015. The new Viking repair company (exclusive appliance Svce 770-888-9555- they are awesome!) representative came out, saw the issues and determined that there has been a defective gasket within the door. He explained that this is what has been causing the problems all along. We disconnected the water line to the fridge in order to stop the leaking (therefore, no filtered water or ice since September) while we waited for Viking to provide us with the replacement gasket. Furthermore, this representative made a few calls to Viking on our behalf to explain the cause and ultimate damage caused by this defective part. He took and submitted multiple pictures and written explanation of the damaged floor, and filed a claim on our behalf to have Viking pay to repair the damages. While we waited for the claim to process, the Gasket was finally delivered about 6 weeks later, only to discover that the replacement part was DEFECTIVE as well!! We were then told that the entire manufacturing run of these gaskets are defective, so the new expected delivery date for the new gasket will be 8 weeks later. Ironically, the same day we received this information, the Viking Claims Department contacted me to tell me that Viking had determined that the damage to my floor was not caused by the defective appliance!LONG STORY SHORT, Viking Appliances are the WORST I have ever owned, and even worse, Viking could not care less, and is apparently unwilling to stand behind their products at all. This is the first review I have ever written on a public forum, but if it helps even one person from suffering through this very expensive, horrible experience, then it was well worth my time.

We had Viking range many years ago in our other home. We purchased again and when I got the oven, three months later, it stopped working. So I called the distributor that I bought it from and they contacted Viking and got the approval for warranty repair. Then they had a local service company contact me to take care of the problem. The contractors were fine. The issue with the Viking oven is that the hinges were either the wrong hinges or installed improperly. The oven did not close and stay closed. So during baking, it would overheat and a safety feature would kick in and turn the oven off. It was disappointing to have an oven that we had thought was really a good product, come and basically stop working, not being usable within three months. The service repairman replaced two parts that he thought were temperature-related. But it turned out that it was the door not staying closed that was causing the oven to malfunction. Its working fine now that the door stays closed. I like the range itself now that it works.

In 2007, when we had our hood installed, we thought the contractor installed it wrong because we could not get the waffle plates out to clean. A service technician was ready willing and able to come and take the whole thing apart, but thank God I also called another technician who came first and said that the motor was installed correctly but that there was something wrong with the design and the filters were not able to come out. I called Viking and they sent one of their technicians. This guy sat on the stove and told me to look carefully. He said, You have to punch in this side while pulling down and shake it around a lot.Needless to say, that idiot was out of my home in a flash. I had not yet paid for all of our appliances with the retailer: Viking 6-burner stove, two Bosch dishwashers, one Subzero fridge, one Subzero freezer, etc. A big bill. Eventually, a Viking big shot came to our home and redesigned pieces so that the filters could drop out easily. Customer service on the phone had asked me why I needed to take the filters out so often. Hello? I cook. Hate Viking. Today, June 5, 2013, the hood which has been turning on its own for a month with minimum heat blew. Wish me luck. Have to make one of many calls. Oh, and the burners in the oven had been replaced 3 years ago and I was told that I use my oven a lot, NOT. The burners cost over $1,000 to replace. Hate Viking.

We bought a home thats a few years old, and it already had appliances in it
We bought a home thats a few years old, and it already had appliances in it as far as the refrigerator, oven, and microwave. Because I was doing a very large remodel in the kitchen, I needed my appliances to match. Weve heard really great things about Viking in the past, I didnt think twice about it. Well, was I ever so wrong. I should have just redid the whole kitchen for the amount of money that I ended up spending on Viking. We purchased a Series 5. Professional range, dual fuel, and with an overhead vent. Our dealer was Ferguson here in Houston. We didnt actually see it because they didnt have any on the floor but I said, “Well, we know were going to get it, so why do I need to see it? We’ll just buy it.†We ordered at the end of December because there was a special wherein if you buy the range and the overhead vent, you would get a free microwave. Ferguson does the installation, and there was too much back and forth with them. The guy and I were going back on whether it was a 7 or 10-inch blower hole, which is a very big difference and could be very costly if done wrong because youre cutting into an exterior wall. We ended up saying it should be a seven. But then when I was reading the notes of what I had purchased, it was saying that we needed a 10-inch hole. I called Viking and found out the salesperson at Ferguson ordered the wrong blower. Fortunately, I caught the mistake and didnt have the hole cut to 10 inches. I had them cancel the blower, reorder, and send us the correct blower.Ferguson wanted to come out for a second pre-site before they install the appliances to make sure we had done everything that met their criteria. We put in a 110 for the dual fuel range just like what they told us. The guy even wrote on my old crown molding on the wall 110. Guys came back for a check, and its a 240 or 220. At this point, my cabinets are done and its going to be very difficult to run a new electrical to the wall. My electrician somehow figured it out and was able to run a new electrical. He even called to confirm that you want for it to be hardwired into the wall. He was told, “Yeah, we dont need a plug. It just gets hardwired.†So he left it capped and ready for the range to be hardwired. Ferguson came and said, “No, it has to be plugged in.†Viking told us it could be hardwired, which Ive read in the installation manual personally but Ferguson said no and left the range in the middle of my kitchen. My electrician came back out and installed the plug. It was a whole mess but that’s just the beginning. My contractor said something was wrong with the vent hood. He held up a proper level, and the vent hood was crooked. When Ferguson installed the vent hood, they used a level that was one foot-long, so it wasnt really checking the whole thing. So they came back out to re-level it. They also ended up yanking the rubber feet off of the microwave because the hole that they measured for us was too small. The oven knobs were put on backwards so the oven wouldn’t come on. I was infuriated. I finally went back and looked at it after 30 minutes. I was like, “Oh, somebody put the knobs on wrong.†Okay, good. Oven works. I also had to pay a separate company to do ductwork because they wouldnt do it, which nobody could understand. We had a party with some friends on the 4th of July weekend. I went to cook a standing rib roast. Standing rib roast is cooked at 200 degrees until the rib roast reaches temperature. And then, from there, Im supposed to crank my oven to 500 and sear off that meat. Simple. Ive done this on a very cheap Samsung electric range, ‘cause thats what I had at my last house. The Viking never made it to 500. We waited for over an hour and a half. I have an existing Viking oven thats 13 years old, and it gets to 450 within a matter of minutes. So I dont understand why this big oven, thats brand new, and costs tens of thousands of dollars cant get a temperature. I called Viking, and the lady I got, Juanita, was not helpful. She said I have to have somebody come out. Ovens are finicky. My aunt has a Wolf and if you dont hit the button just so, it doesnt do what you want it to do. Juanita wasnt listening to my problem. I told her, Maybe I dont need somebody and you just need to tell me to click the button left or something.†She would not help me. The owner of the company came and said, “Well, it reaches 350 within the 25 minutes its supposed to. Theres nothing wrong with it.†I was like, “Something is wrong because its not getting to 500.†He said, “It gets to 350 in its normal time. But you need a new fan. Your fan’s loud.†I was like, “The thing is brand-new. How can I need a new fan?†He told me theres a Viking chart out in the world that Ive never gotten my hands on to this day, that is supposed to tell me how long it takes to go from 350 to 500. Theres an interval, like every 10 degrees, it takes 15 minutes or whatever it is. But he didnt know what it was. He tried to call Viking and he couldnt get it. I kept calling and would even try to talk to other Viking representatives but they said Juanita’s my case manager. Juanita was out of the office and they still would not help me.It took me until September to get it to work. For three months, I fought with people to get my oven to work. All they had to do was tell me, “If you would turn the oven off and turn it back on, itll use full voltage to go to 500.†What happens on Viking ranges is, once it hits the set temperature, it uses half the voltage to maintain the temperature of the oven that you have it set. Because you change your settings to a higher temperature, itll only use half the voltage to get to that point. Thats why Ive never reached 500. Horrible customer service. I was mortified by the service I received, especially after how much money I spent with Viking. Now that I know how the oven is supposed to work, I love it. Nobody could tell me that until right the second representative from Bar Appliance came out.

I was doing a lot of online searching for various appliances, ranges in general. The one that I had was on its way out and I was looking for something different. Viking came up a few times and thats how I found out about them. Here in Canada, theyre not called Viking. Theyre called Brigade which confused me at first. They have a high quality range but at that one point, the price was a little higher than I could afford. However, it came at a price that I could justify and it was a good price. Its a solid machine and I dont go in for any of the bells and whistles, so to speak. I want something thats going to cook.I knew what I wanted more or less when I went in their store and had a couple of questions. Also, I would have liked to have been able to actually see the range before I purchased it but the only thing they had for a floor model was the gas style. Unfortunately, I dont have that option where I live so the sales rep showed me the gas range. Im very happy with the product. I love it and so far, the features that I use have been very good. The elements are quick to heat up and the oven cycles well. I really like the 12-inch element in the center of the stovetop because I have a lot of larger pans. One in particular is a paella pan and its not something you can do off to the side. So its got a good size and because of that, its the first time that I actually made a paella in about 14 years. I had this pan just in hold for a stove like this. I also like the convection features on it.

We were pleased with the Viking oven and microwave in our other house so we wanted a stove with a black face on it when we build our new house. We’ve only been using it for about a month and a half but we have no issues, we are delighted and it worked out well. Being able to cook with gas is nice. You can control the heat and with the grill on the top with six burners, you can cook a lot. One burner also has a higher BTU on it which is nice. We bought it from Ferguson in the town we lived in. The Viking dealer has a good reputation and known for its bath and kitchen showroom. We didnt hesitate to go to them when we wanted to pick out the appliances. Side by Side 29x79 Professional Viking Fridge and Freezer - Top of the line price and look. Worked well for three years and has been downhill since. Ice maker broke in freezer. Drawers split and fell out in fridge. All fixable until the seal started to tear on the door which as you would imagine, if not working properly it doesnt hold in cold air and temp rises. We ordered not one, or two but three times, went back and forth with Viking and three different appliance repair guys. Final analysis is that Viking no longer makes same seal and the replacement seal DOESNT FIT! IT DOESNT WORK! We have pulled our hair out trying to find someone whose fridge maybe blew up or fell out of the back of a truck just to nab the $100 seal from original fridge and have it snapped in 10 minutes. It is a CRIME that a manufacturer makes a 10K unit and then cant provide basic replacement parts and therefore deems the product obsolete.

I’m a foodie who cooks and I’ve been wanting a Viking range for more than 20 years. There are foodies who eat and wanna go to fancy places, but I’m the cooking kind. The quality of my Viking products is outstanding and insanely amazing. I like the quality of the Viking range and the infrared broilers of the oven. So far, my absolute favorite is my TurboChef oven. It cooks 15 times as fast as usual and that’s really good for a working person. The interactions that I had with Plessers, the Viking dealer that I bought the products from, was not as good though. One of the reasons that I went to that store was because Appliance World, the place that I would have gone to which was near to my home, only had a Viking two-year warranty. I wanted an extended warranty for at least 10 years, but they didn’t offer that. Appliance World is a topnotch store and I went there several times asking my questions, although I knew I wasn’t gonna buy the Viking products there because they didn’t offer the extended warranty. I bought the Viking products at Plessers because they threw in the extended warranty. I knew that if we got something, they would be very generous with the extended warranty. If they didn’t absorb it, they would do something kinder. But they didnt know the product that well, so I had to make myself very aware.I had read a lot about Vikings products and I also called Viking to ask my questions. I bought a 40-inch range, double ovens with the TurboChef, and a refrigerator. I also got two free microwaves even though I only needed one. But we have not always had great luck with those things, so having a spare is not a bad thing. If one of them breaks, I would have a replacement. Viking had a promotion and depending on what I spent, I got something free. I could get a free dishwasher or any of the four models of microwave free as well. With what I was buying, I could get two microwaves. But Plessers was not very aware of the Viking promotion. They were aware that I could get a free dishwasher, but they were not aware that I could get two free microwaves. They kept trying to give me a dishwasher and I didn’t want it because its a European product and doesn’t have heated drying, and that’s not helpful.Another thing was that after we ordered the appliances and paid for them well ahead of when they were placed because they were brand new, we took out three rooms and made a big kitchen. So, there was a lot of construction going on, but the appliances were the easiest thing for me to pick out and the tile and other items were much harder. When the kitchen had been designed, but still on paper, and I was with the kitchen designers and the contractor, I called Plessers up and I told them that if I buy an Advantium speed oven, which is a quarter of the price of a Viking TurboChef, it also acts as microwave. I asked them whether the TurboChef also did that and they said that it definitely does. At the last minute, however, after the kitchen design was done, I gave Viking a quick call and asked them that question again because I was not so comfortable with Plessers. Vikings said that the TurboChef does not function as a microwave, but I can get a free microwave. So, that was a hassle because the kitchen design had to be changed. I told our contractor to figure that out and it was done, but it shouldn’t have gone that way. The Plessers guys should have known what they were doing. I’m sure they took a Viking class, but they didn’t do their homework. On the other hand, when I was worried about some of the stuff that I had read on the TurboChef such as its breaking, a young woman at Appliance World told me that a lot of that was because people were not upgrading their electrical systems, circuit box or electric lines for this appliance which sucked in a lot of power. So, they were shorting it out and that was the main problem. I was impressed that this young lady popped that off on top of our head. She said they had that problem in the beginning too, until they realized that they couldn’t use the same electrical system for this appliance as everybody else did for other appliances. Appliance World is a huge and gorgeous store. I roamed around there for a good hour and the staff was really nice. They have kitchens set up all over the place and they can demonstrate things for the customer.Viking itself and Appliance World were great. The staff at Plessers was really nice too and they could not have been nicer. Also, the appliances that we got from them were so great. But we had a disappointing buying experience with them. They need an education course on the Viking appliances because if they’re gonna sell things that are this high-end and expensive, they need to know what they’re talking about, but they didn’t. Nevertheless, I would tell people to buy Viking if they can.

I liked the quality of the Viking Range that I have observed at a family member’s house. I spent about two hours in the store and we finally landed on a product that I liked. However, I was really dissatisfied when the installer came to put the Viking Range in. They charged me $200 for the install, which I don’t remember having that conversation with my salesperson. I paid $50 to have them install the dishwasher so I thought I had paid for all of my installation fees already when I purchased the equipment. I paid them the $200 because my beef was not with them. My beef was with Famous Tate, who sold this stuff. I then brought my concerns to them. After some back and forth, and then realizing that I was not going to accept their answer, they finally gave me a credit of $200 on the purchase, which completely satisfied me. We also have a slight issue with our oven, where the door does not always close or shut off the lights. It is not pressing that little button that turns the light on and off. I have reminded my wife to call Famous Tate about it.

I purchased a home that was 1 year old with Viking fridge/freezer and Viking oven in 2005. We had problems with the defrost cycle of the freezer section, within a year of moving in. Ice would freeze up on the back of the freezer then defrost. I called an authorized Viking service to come and fix the problem. He came, used my hair blow dryer to melt the ice, made some adjustment and left. It happened again and again. The melting ice ruined my wood floor and I had to pay to get it replaced. Then a year later, the door started to hang crookedly. I decided to purchase a new Viking fridge/freeze, same type but newer for about $10,000. I also bought the extended warranty on it. Within 6 months, the first drawer cracked. I called the dealer and they told me my extended warranty would not cover broken drawers or shelves because that is considered wear and tear. I was completely annoyed. I tried to fix the drawer by crazy gluing it together. I also have red sticky tape wrapped around it to hold it together. I had to do the same with the cracked door shelf. Now 3 years later, I have three broken shelve doors and the broken drawer, all taped with red tape. It is absolutely disgusting the shabby quality of product that Viking builds. The oven that came with the house, the door became crooked too and doesnt close all the way. I had an authorized service come and see what could be done. Nothing! They no longer sell the hinge replacement part. I had the same problem with the printing on the oven panel too. It has worn off and I had to write the temperatures and the baking programs with a black magic marker! I also called them to find out what I could do about that and they said I would have to buy a new front panel! I am 56 years old and have had many fridges and ovens in my life. I have never had any problems with any of them. Most of them were about $1,500.00-$3000.00. I will never buy a Viking product and when I am in an appliance store, I try to stand by the Viking section for as long as I can and tell anyone considering buying a Viking to not do it! I tell them to read the reviews about Viking products first. I decided to add my review so that if I can save one person from wasting their money, I will then be a satisfied Viking customer!

So far, the Viking appliances have been good. The stove and oven are great. I also like the Viking fridge a lot. Its spacious and I havent had any issues with it. But the range is what theyre known for and some of the other things havent been that fantastic. The dishwasher is okay but it doesnt really dry the dishes. Additionally, the microwave is not great. I need someone to look at it cause whenever I close it, it opens three quarters away.

I purchased a newly-renovated house and a Viking refrigerator came with it. But I dont like it. It keeps my food cold but I liked my old GE refrigerator better than this one. It doesn’t have a water option, the ice machine isn’t working and the freezer is not very space efficient. I just think it should have a water filtration system and an ice machine. I don’t understand this ice-free model. And it’s not even working right now.

Vikings reputation precedes itself as far as the quality of the product. When we bought our house, our builder provided Viking appliances like the dishwasher, a super range, and a refrigerator. I love the range. I also love everything about the refrigerator except the fact that it doesnt dispense water. The appliance company did the installation has been great with us. Weve just had a couple of minor issues with stuff that there was some damage done on a couple of items during the installation and it had nothing to do with the quality products that were provided.

I had a Viking stove for 30 years and I like the Viking company as a whole. I wanted to try the Viking refrigerator and I never had one before, so I purchased one. The quality is good but Im not as happy as I thought I would be with it. It has some things that dont work very well. For instance, the ice maker is defective. Every time I open the freezer, ice cubes get out on the floor. So the refrigerator is not the best and Viking could have done better. I should have bought another one. Id also tell my friends that its good but they should check others. Other than that, I bought a Viking barbecue and it came defective as well. I had to call the Viking service but I also have to work and its not that easy to do these things.

Wish I had never chosen Viking for my kitchen, huge mistake. The dishwasher is worse than a cheap $300 Maytag. Its broke down 3 times in 4 years, even when it worked it was junk, didnt even dry dishes. My advice, buy a KitchenAid or Bosch for your appliance. Youll be sorry if you choose Viking. They dont stand behind their products and its costly to fix anything. I wouldnt be surprised if they go out of business soon.

I like the look of the Viking Ranges, the quality of the oven and the electric oven that’s hard to find. We got one that is 36 inches and has six burners. And this feature of the oven is my favorite. It’s a great looking range and of good quality. When we got it, we thought we had one burner that would not light. But I called and they had somebody come out right away and fixed it. It was quick and it was all covered in the warranty so it was nice and easy. The customer service has been great. Overall, I’m happy.

I have bought Viking appliances for my past two kitchen renovations and I have to say I am disappointed in the quality of my latest Viking range; especially when I compare it to same Viking range we had before. The latest range makes a loud bang sound whenever we turn the oven on and it is heating up. It sounds almost like a small explosion and when it first happened, my wife and I thought something seriously happened with the oven and that it was faulty. We had a Viking technician come out to look at it and he informed us that it is becoming increasingly common with Viking ranges and that there is nothing much we can do about it.I have to say that paying a huge premium on an appliance and being told that there is little we can do about it is not a very satisfying answer. It is also embarrassing whenever we have company over and they hear the bang go off with our oven and are surprised to learn that is something we put up with every day especially after spending so much money on a high-end item. I am not exactly sure what can ever be done about this but I must say that if or when we renovate our next kitchen, I cannot say that Viking will be high on my list as appliances to purchase.

We like the Viking range because of its style and how it fits with our cabinets. It was ultimately the better fit for what we were trying to get. I compared it to the Thermador and the Thermador had a smaller range for the same price. With the Viking, I can control the stove top of the gas burners, which is nice. It also fits into our kitchen wall. I use it every day and so far it has performed very well. However, weve had a couple of service issues with it. The first was the door did not close all the way. It was not aligned properly, so we couldnt get full closure. The other thing was the steel would pop when we turned the oven on. Weve already had service calls to come out for the range within the first 12 months. They were able to resolve the door issue, which apparently was a shipping thing. We still have the metal popping but we learned how to fix that. Also, customer service has been good. I had a lot of issues with the dealer, and by the time I got to Viking, the gentleman I spoke with was very compassionate and had a lot of empathy. He cheered me up and did everything he could to help in our situation.

We purchased a home with Viking appliances and in about four months that weve been here, the products were okay but I would not recommend them. The refrigerator is noisy, with a lot of clicking noises. We think it’s associated with the filtration system and when it makes ice. And it takes about between three and four days to fill the bin of ice. We tried to use some of the functions where it says excel ice where it leads the user to think that it speeds up the time of making ice. But it still takes three days to fill the little bin in there. But the Viking customer service has been extremely well and Im very, very happy with that aspect.

Purchasing a Viking range was the contractors decision, but we were asked if we were okay with that and to me its one of the best out there. The whole thing is awesome because right now in my other home, I have an electric range and theres no comparison. You can cook faster and you can turn it off and on and have the heat go away. We have the grill part in the middle of our range, which I havent used yet but I love that feature. Overall I havent used the range much yet since its our second home and we were only there over the holidays, but the little bit that I did, I loved it.

I used to work in the restaurant biz and I’ve heard about Viking for a long time. I knew it was gonna be a good stove oven and I liked the way it looked. I keep on telling everybody it’s like my whole life I’ve been driving a beat up Datsun and now I’m driving a Volvo or Rolls-Royce. You can just feel how the quality is and it’s excellent. Also, I like its sturdiness, the rollout shelves, the LED lighting over the little controls, the handles and everything about it. My husband was good with Viking. He is a contractor and he did the installation. My plumber had roughed out the gas line, according to the install directions, and then when the actual oven showed up, you couldn’t install where that gas line was. My husband called Viking and explained the problem about their drawings. That went well but we had to move the gas line which was not great. Still, people should go for Viking Ranges. It’s an expense and it’s gonna be more expensive but it was the biggest choice I had to make. I looked at others like Wolf, BlueStar and American and I liked all of them but I decided on Viking and I’m very happy with my decision.

It is unfortunate that I have to write this on a brand such as VIKING since I have had nothing but troubles on the 48 range and the big side by side refrigerator. Over the years we had several problems including the refrigerator door that fell off and almost hurt my wife had it not been for the kitchen island that stopped the fall on her. Thankfully Viking replaced the door but it shouldnt have happened. Now the range, right from the beginning we had issues with the right sided burners and grill not working, the oven that always made a hissing sound every so often when in use which we didnt know was a faulty burner and fire spreader plate. On 4 occasions we had the Fire department coming to our house because of Carbon-monoxide leak from the oven that triggered the alarm which, thankfully, is hooked to the Fire Dept. The latest being this Thanksgiving Day while the oven was in use. When discussing this with Viking customer service, the answer we got was that upper management couldnt help and suggested a repair service company. The service company stated that this is not an isolated issue but common with VIKING. The parts alone is quoted at over $1200.00 plus labor. If anyone is thinking of buying a VIKING product - think twice before you spend the tens of thousands for this poor quality brand like we did several years ago. Shame on you VIKING.

The refrigerator was packaged well. The wall preparation information for this cabinet depth model was not accurate in that one of the two bolts used for anti-tipping did not reach the block on the wall. Dimensions given were not correct for the block (2x4) installation. The refrigerator holds temperature very precisely and the interior LED lighting is terrific. Shelves adjust nicely and so do the drawer units. All shelves and cubbies in the door adjust nicely. The one objection we have is that the refrigerator is quite noisy as refrigerators go. Even the owners manual mentions the whirring and other sounds that the unit makes. For a product that costs this much, one would think that it could be quieter. We will just have to get used to it!!

I like to cook a lot and I chose Viking because of their reputation for quality. It’s very well-made and its going to last a long time. I like the burners and the heftiness of them. The six burners and the full-sized oven were perfect for Thanksgiving dinner. The convection oven definitely cuts down on cooking time. Having the higher BTU burners cooks everything a lot faster. Things boil faster. The ability to maintain a simmer without having to constantly watch it is nice. The range looks professional. It’s almost like a statement piece in the kitchen. I’m super happy with the product. It’s better than other ovens I’ve had in the past. It cooks more evenly. I’ve had gas ovens before that didnt cook evenly and my Viking range cooks pretty well. It holds temperature well for a gas oven. Additionally, my experience with the dealer was excellent. They were knowledgeable about the product and it was easy to set up delivery.

Viking 36 inch convection range. I prefer gas but we dont have that option, so I went with the electric convection model. I chose Viking because of their reputation. I am not a fan of this range. The 36 inch range has four burners with the smallest burners in the front. The right side burners can be used as a single cooking zone, but the heat isnt consistent. All of the burners adjust the temperature throughout cooking which I suppose is a good feature unless youre trying to boil water. The oven is noisy even without the convection. The oven is self cleaning but it takes 8 hours to go through the cycle! Make sure your installer is familiar with Viking. Ours was not. He was there all day trying to get the range installed, and we had to have a technician back immediately to make adjustments. The range is nothing special for the money. It isnt cheap or cheap looking, but I have had much less expensive ranges that I liked better than this one. I find this range very frustrating to work with. The 36 inch, ceramic top convection model ran about $5000. Its self cleaning, assuming you have the 8 hours needed. The middle rack in the oven glides beautifully which avoids spilling of quiches, souffles, etc. The features I find the least appealing are the ceramic top and the tiny burners in the front. The ceramic is impossible to keep clean and the small burners dont heat the pan evenly. Also, the knobs dont lock into place, so you constantly have to check the settings. The burners self regulate, so the burner will reduce the heat throughout cooking. This becomes very frustrating if you are trying to boil water. Gas is probably more consistent. The oven seems small. The racks do not cook evenly, so you cant use all three simultaneously. I cant tell any difference between convection and non-convection cooking except convection is louder.

Ive heard of Viking for years because my son-in-law builds very high-end homes, and I know that at times they use Viking appliances. We bought our Viking refrigerator through Best Buy, and the reps there were fabulous. This fridge was on display at Best Buy when I was there. The reps said that normally Viking refrigerators arent on the Best Buy floor, but this fridge had been returned because it had a slight dent in it and the customer wouldnt accept it. One of the big reasons that I bought this fridge was the counter depth, and that was key. We ordered our Viking refrigerator back in October, but weve been under construction all this time and we just finally got it put in. Weve only been using it for about three weeks to a month. The quality of the fridge that we got is good. I like the brightness and how the doors open very fully. However, the only complaint I have right now with it is about the ice in the container in the freezer. Sometimes, the container overfills and when you open it, it pops the ice out down into the bottom. Nevertheless, I had a good experience overall with Viking.

It took a lifetime and a half to get the range because of COVID. Once we got it, it sat in the garage for a while while we waited for things to happen in the kitchen that were also delayed for a while. Then my contractor and I installed it with no difficulty whatsoever mostly because he knew what he was doing. The quality control of the range is great. Theres one little tiny nick in a piece of have stainless steel and weve got one of the burner knobs that sticks ever so slightly. The Viking range puts out ferocious heat so we find ourselves turning the gas down more than turning it up. But thats just a learning process. Were learning the tricks with the multiple things you can do with the oven. We bought a complete set of appliances in 2014. After just four years of normal use, the water dispenser wont stop, the dishwasher display failed and the oven stopped working. When we called the authorized service technician, he charged me $264 just to tell me that some parts need to be replaced and all of them are not covered under the extended guarantee. Just to replace the control board of the oven will cost me more than $800. Also when called the customer service to get a clearer explanation about what is covered and what is not, the representative failed to explain where it says that the control board of the oven is excluded. We are very disappointed with Viking, we bought these appliances believing that they are better than less expensive brands but turns out that they lasted less than our previous appliances and the customer service is far worst. Our Viking refrigerator was purchased in 2002. The side-by-side style and drawer system looked great when purchased. In the first year under warranty, the bottom slide-out drawers and hinges snapped off and broke several times. The tracking was replaced as well as the entire drawer system. The motor broke, drawers cracked, compressor broke and the sealer to the door replaced. I think everything was replaced in the first year. Now that its 2013, every side holder on the door side are held together with duck tape. The ice maker stopped working a long time ago. Drawers lost their handles - all broken off. Compressor is out and the bottom drawer a joke. Doors dont stay closed. The alarm goes off randomly when it wants to have to get out of bed to press the alarm off button several times a day. We still have the recall replacement hinges for the doors uninstalled as of yet. Apparently, the doors can fall off randomly and hurt people. Viking offered a discount for a new refrigerator if we decide not to get the hinges replaced. However, I am not sure that will solve any future problems. We should have purchased the competitors brand, which was slightly higher in price. Tried to see if they would offer anything more than the 1 year warranty. Nothing offered except a discount on a new one.

Wife and I bought a house with a beautiful kitchen. We saw the Viking professional line in the house and it seemed like a blessing... until we moved in and the nightmares began. Two months into our living there, the dishwasher and refrigerator, both 2006 models have already broken several times. Little things are broken all over the inside of the fridge. The freezer does not seem to defrost and Ive manually had to chop out ice from the pan inside, which is nearly impossible. Dishwasher cannot get dishes clean at all, leaves a deposit. Weve been using citric acid and scrubbing inside of washer by hand... no effect. We know an appliance repairman and he has a policy of not touching VIKING at all costs. Our nearest repairman who says they will fix is miles and miles away, and gives a no guarantee disclaimer on all things related to Viking. Another guys asked us for an up front retainer and our credit card before hed even start and when we said no (seemed shifty) he said good luck because nobody wants to touch them. My parents had a GE refrigerator for 40 years. Our last fridge was Maytag and was 1/8 the price, no probs. Had a $200 GE dishwasher in old house that did a better job and no breakdowns for 10 years. On the first house, the ice maker was always broken. It cost me $300 a month on an average for many years. Got here to my second house, and the ice maker frozen in the bottom. It cost me $300 a month. An ice maker shouldnt be that expensive. Its a very inexpensive part. So, hopefully, we got it right this time. We got our new refrigerator at the first of the year and everything has been going pretty good. I really like the space. The Viking dealer was excellent. Purchased a complete kitchen full of Viking professional series products in 2008. In 2011 the microwave quit working. In 2011 the stove top igniters are always trying to light a lit stove. 2011, dishwasher spray arm fell off (plastic broke). Ongoing is my fridge freezer side by side. Too warm on top but frozen veggies in the crisper. The oven always seems to take a little longer to get to temp then in 2014 would never get to temp. Have called the Authorized Viking distributor and have always been transferred around. I have been pushed to an authorized repair company and been fleeced for labor and materials. Dealer came out for dishwasher and after talking on the phone for an hour told me it would be over $500 to fix. I paid him for the service call and found the part online, and put it in myself. Took the microwave out and just bought a GE. No one wanted to work on the micro. Pulled the oven out of the wall, called the technician and he came out to troubleshoot. Told me the lower element was out. He quoted me over $550 to fix when the part came in within the next few weeks. I paid him the 140 for the trip charge and service call and found the element online for 111. I put it in myself. An absolute hassle and this is unacceptable for appliances that are supposed to be top of the line. Never, I mean never... NEVER will I ever buy another Viking product. Pure 100% crap. I have a mother in law apartment that does not have a single Viking product. Never have issues. I have Kohler throughout the main house. Hardly ever an issue. If there is one, I talk to KOHLER and they send me what it takes to fix. I cannot wait to remodel my kitchen!!!

After I contacted them on September 23, 2013, they started to interpret the warranty in different ways. Also told me to contact Viking customer service by the phone. I stay without a fridge till now. I had a meeting with the Service Manager. He apologized for the delay (about a month!) and asked to wait again. To show his work he provided me with the email sent by him to the Regional Service Manager and the reply. General idea - lets make her go back and forth while we get Viking on the same page. Then offer her to buy a replacement unit at 6160 + 15% tax, 50% of the actual retail price.

Before, I was so excited to have Viking. Ive known the brand for a long time and they are well-known. Also, the builder of the house we had built wanted to put in Viking appliances, so we agreed to it. But every single one of the Viking appliances is just okay, if not less than okay, which is a bummer. Ive had issues with the very top shelf of our Viking Refrigerator. It freezes food because thats where the air comes in from the freezer and you have to be careful on that shelf because the food will get frozen. That has never happened in any of the other refrigerators we’ve had and we’ve owned 40 refrigerators because we move a lot and we’ve owned a lot of homes. I’m also not happy with the design of the ice machine in the bottom. The sensor bar doesn’t sense the ice very well, so it gets full. When you open it, it knocks the ice off into the back of the refrigerator so you have to patter around there like a kitten trying to get back the ice cubes out after they’ve fallen. I shouldn’t have to do that and its a silly feature. All in all, the Viking refrigerator is not so great and not worth the money.

Ive known Viking Refrigerators for so long. I like the look and the style of the refrigerators. They also have a better quality than the rest of their competitors. The refrigerator that I have bought is average and Ive spent $9,000 on it. However, I’ve already had a service call out here because the thing wasn’t working properly. Based on the fact that they had charged much more, their product and service should have been stellar. Even so, somebody quickly got out here and that guy was great. I also Iike the construction of the solid door. And also, I like the fact that the inside thing is made of metal. Purchasing from Viking was a good experience up until the point where they were to deliver the item, but then it all went to crap. When they delivered the item, they gave me a delivery date, but they didn’t meet that. And then they gave me another delivery date and didn’t meet that as well. So it was just a big fiasco. It took three days to finally have the item installed. Since that was a Monday, they didn’t even have it installed and so I installed it myself. Also initially, Viking was responsive. I had bought three different products. I bought a Viking Refrigerator, the beverage center, and the ice machine. And two of them were delivered on one day. The beverage center was deemed late by Viking. They said they didn’t have it yet. So, once again, the second time they came in, they’re supposed to deliver it but they didn’t show up. They called me and told me that it wasn’t gonna be delivered for another couple days. And then again, it was supposed to be delivered between 12:00 and 5:00, and they showed up at 9:00 at night. The second time they delivered, the service level just sucked. These dealers are representing Viking. I know its difficult because they’re not just selling Viking, they’re also selling other products. But at the end of the day, it puts a bad taste on my mouth that Viking works with these people. If Viking wants to say that they are a service-oriented company and believes in their customers, then they ought to pay attention to who’s actually selling this product and who’s delivering the product in the homes because it only takes one experience to turn somebody off. So I don’t know if I’d ever buy another Viking again. I would also tell others that if they ever want to go buy the product, that would be fine but I would also tell them to make sure they do their research.

I needed a Viking fridge that matched the stove I already had. I purchased one and I havent been feeling great about it. Recently, the whole freezer got clogged up and I had to shut the whole unit down. I also had to replace a part in the fridge which cost me around $600. Getting the unit repaired was difficult because the two places registered with Viking in my area were terribly reviewed. Plus, those places were not able to help me immediately.

Viking Ranges would have made a good return on my investment when I sell my house but so far, the quality is not good. I have about 5 issues that are in the process of being rectified, like not all burner lights work and when the oven and some of the burners are on, all the burners would light continuously and wont stop. I have called and spoken with them numerous times and I have sent emails too, and they were knowledgeable enough to help me with what I needed. Im waiting for the parts but a week has passed and they told me that the parts department is not shipping anything until the middle of the month. The quality control and the packaging could have been better before the units leave the factory line. Also, it seemed that a lot of the damages were the result of transporting the product.

I liked Vikings brand equity and overall integrity. The registration was easy and the quality of the range is great. The grill is great too and so is the uniformity of cooking. We love the product and were very happy with it. The entire kitchen is Viking - the microwave, dishwasher, range and refrigerator. Their functionality and style are also great. We had a small issue initially. We had a gas leak. They scheduled service which was a little further out than I wanted. Without me initiating it, they contacted another company and got them there even sooner. They were quick to send out a service tech and they rectified it. Overall, it’s a positive experience. Viking was very responsive and proactive.

I owned a 4-burner Viking range back in 2005 and they were good. When we built our house, we tossed back and forth with other ranges. But we went with Viking once again. I couldnt settle for something else and it seemed like I was settling if I got something different. I like the different top for the broiler. We use it daily and were very happy.

The Viking refrigerator is horrific and I never would have purchased this product but unfortunately, it came with the house. It was a brand-new, unused refrigerator and yet we had nine repairs on it. The builder worked really hard to get a new one as replacement but it also broke down and, to make it even more insulting, that happened on the day of delivery. It got repaired that day but it’s already starting to show the problem with the frosting and the freeze so we are so done with Viking. We’re in the process of getting a Sub-Zero and I definitely have been passing the word to stay away from this company.
