Viking, you SUCK. 3+ months with a $3,000+ fridge that was delivered broken
Viking, you SUCK. 3+ months with a $3,000+ fridge that was delivered broken and all the local warranty reps you outsource to are saying is Viking switched its distributor two times so you will have to wait longer? How about some lemon laws here. I called Viking directly and the brain dead receptionists can not get me to the right person. Why? Because they cant fathom why someone with a California phone number lives in Texas. Gee, if you want to be elite Viking, you might want to consider that your customers have multiple homes in other areas. I regret buying a Viking Dishwasher (POS does not even have heated dry), Viking Range (delivered broken), Viking Microwave (over priced Kitchen Aid) and Viking D3 Fridge (Broken on Delivery). I have yet to get a customer service rep to call me back. No one is empowered to make a decision. I will be buying Wolf/SubZero next time.

I have a 60 professional quality Viking freestanding oven & range. Its never worked correctly - the oven fails with one or two uses, and this started within 24 months of original installation. Ive spent over $1,500 on repairs (Viking said it wasnt under warranty, though the warranty clearly states THREE YEARS) and it still doesnt work. The Viking authorized repairman told us this week Viking is not willing to take responsibility for their product and theyve suggested you have the oven wiring replaced at your cost....I am so frustrated with Vikings treatment of our customers that Im considering not working for them any longer. This is what I get for $9,000?

So I moved into a new house 10 years ago it came with Viking appliances. I am a research rat and use unbiased information such as consumer reports. I wouldn’t have bought viking. They already had class action law suit issues In the past. Bad reliability scores etc. Its basically a brand name that should Say Viking = pay way more. Get way less. Our refrigerator breaks every 6 months like clock work. Our friends take bets on when it will break next. A fun game for them. Not so much for me. Their customer support is god awful and they don’t stand behind their product. So do some research and don’t buy Viking. For those who say mine works. I would say a blind squirrel occasionally also finds an acorn. Probably not the line you want to describe your 12 k fridge with.

When our family bought our home we purchased all new Viking kitchen equipment. Double oven, heat warming tray, 2 oversized units, one refrigerators, one freezer, ice machine dishwasher, hood, and 6 burner stove top. Within two years the refrigerator started leaking. We complained to the company we purchased it from and he said it was the seal. They ordered a new one from Viking but what Viking failed to tell them was that the refrigerator we had purchased was one of the first 100 off the assembly line and they had recalled this item. The continuing leakage from the refrigerator ruined our hardwood floors. We finally had a rep come out and look at the refrigerator and believe it or not we got a new one after this continuing over a year. The ice machine in the freezer went bad so he ordered us a new one while he was there. The ice machine that was self standing the board went out after 4 years and it cost almost as much to fix so we threw it out. Now our freezer only freezes halfway. There is a hole in the condensing coil that they can not locate. Now the refrigerator that was replaced the door keeps catching and it will not close properly. The dishwasher would not drop water after 5 years. Could not figure out why it would not and just ended up throwing that away.

I put in a claim and they gave me a claim number and a company was supposed to call and set up that they were coming but they never called me. But when I spoke to someone else, they told me to try to clean it out real good and maybe something boiled over. Once I did that, it actually stopped making the noise. So I dont have any complaints. I like my Viking Range and it cooks evenly. I have the convection oven and its good. It boils fast. Its more like commercial style than what my old oven was.

I was looking for a new range and I saw the Viking Range in the store and I really liked the look of it. We have known the owners of the store for a really long time and it was also the best brand that they sold. There are a couple of things that I was disappointed with like the front panel looked like it wasn’t finished correctly. It looked like it was almost rusty. But they ordered a new panel for that. And the first time I used it there was steam and something got in between the glass so they feel that the seal on the oven door wasn’t really correct and they ordered a new glass for the door. So we had a couple of issues but it’s my first experience with a gas range and I really like it so far. They are taking care of the issues so I’m pleased. Those things can happen to any range but I really like the gas burners. I really like the little LED lights underneath that shine over the knobs and I just really love the overall appearance of the whole thing. I love the grates -- they’re very heavy and heavy duty and quality looking. And I think the soft closing door is really nice.

Purchased this stove (VESC Professional 30 Freestanding) in April 2012 because we wanted a Viking Kitchen. Big mistake. Here are the comments I sent to the chairman and CEO of the company after using the stove for two months: At the front of the cooktop there is a small gap/crack between the cooktops metal frame and the main body of the stove. Crumbs and other waste accumulate in this space, which is very difficult to clean. The GE range and many others have a completely smooth top, with no gaps around the cooktop, making them much easier to clean. We ordered the optional backsplash, not realizing that it completely replaces the original vent grill which has become surplus. Rather than forcing customers to order both, it would be much more reasonable, and less wasteful, to substitute the optional backsplash at the factory and not send the vent grill, offering an corresponding price adjustment. Ranges costing much less have more features and are better designed. I cannot recommend paying Vikings very high prices (the stove cost over $5000) for a poorly designed product and this will be my last purchase of a Viking product.

I went through a dealer in a showroom. They suggested Viking and presented it. Since on the day we had it installed, we kept on having issues. We had a cracked hinge which is steel right from the beginning. Right now it’s making a noise when opened. There was also a loose fan inside that was making a noise at the beginning. That would have to be repaired. There was another issue with the bottom drawer, the front door alignment, which is still not perfect. They said it cannot be corrected anymore. If I call directly to Viking, they seemed not very helpful directly. They basically try to avoid any replacement or anything like that because we had a big issue with the first refrigerator, which we had to throw out. That one was brand new that was damaged right at the beginning. This is our second brand-new refrigerator, again with issues. Very pricey too. I have another issue with my stove now, and it’s also Viking. Im not happy. Maybe we just had bad luck, but definitely not buying Viking again. On the other hand, we are very happy with the local service they contracted with. These guys are very responsive and very knowledgeable. They fixed everything pretty much quickly, and were really very courteous. That was a good experience with them. But overall so far, it’s a little bit of a disappointment. We never expected from the beginning to have the service over so many times since it’s brand new. I was actually about to call today again â€cause there’s another issue. With this price point, buying brand-new appliances are a huge investment for many, many years for me. It’s definitely not worth the price.

We were right in the middle of the start of the virus and our JennAir built-in failed, and I needed to get a refrigerator. Viking was one they had and could deliver. But I would have never bought a Viking refrigerator. It’s not where I think their strength is. They didnt install the fan. We had a water problem on our floor and we had to get the guy out. Ive never had a refrigerator drip water before and these are hardwood floors. They got somebody out there but the tech service guys were very confused with it. The first one didnt know quite how to fix it. It left the factory without the fan hooked up on the bottom. There was a float device that tells it when to turn on the heater, and none of that was hooked up properly. It took two trips to figure that and right now Im still very nervous about it.

When we decided to purchase a new fridge, there were only a couple of choices - GE, Sub-zero and Viking, so I went with the better choice. We also got a Viking dishwasher, stove and hood, and so far, they have been okay. But we had a problem with the freezer down below. Someone came and fixed it, but it took a long time. Other than that, its still in good shape and its doors are nice. Ive had other brands and the Vikings quality seems okay. I wouldve preferred to have a mostly full refrigerator and a small freezer, and didnt wanna have one with a freezer below because the ice maker was also below, and I dont freeze a lot of stuff. But this particular Viking fridge came like that.

Just started cooking in brand new oven. The smaller left side oven just made a loud sound and is now not functioning. The right side oven door hinge came off when opening the door and nearly slammed on my foot. I was barely able to lift the door to get it in place. I have only had the 48 range installed the last two weeks. Very disappointed that Viking made in America is poor quality. I now have to wait until Monday to get any support. Anyone else have this experience?

We bought the Viking stove through Setzers and as a part of getting that, we also got a dishwasher. It was a deal they had going on. But the dishwasher has a gasket down the side which slid down and got bent. So we contacted Setzers and told them, and they contacted Viking. It was really strange though. They sent us a note saying that someone was gonna come out and I thought it was crazy. They were coming out to put a gasket on, which was something that I feel like we could do. But okay. They could do whatever they wanted to do. But when the guy came from Viking, his work order said that we had a gas leak and that was why they came. It was really strange. I told him we didnt have a gas leak and that we just needed the plastic gasket piece. He said he he was gonna order it but it’s been three weeks and we still haven’t gotten it. So I probably need to check on it. That aside, he was super nice and really helpful. He even showed us a few things about the stove that we didn’t realize it could do. And even with that, I would absolutely recommend Viking. It has always been my husband’s dream stove. He’s a builder and when he would build upscale houses, they always seemed to have Viking appliances. So when we were building our house, that was his thing. If it was possible, he really wanted the huge six-burner Viking stove. Viking is definitely a pricier stove but it’s worth the money. The quality is good, and the unit is beautiful and substantial. We love it, particularly the six burners on the cooktop. You can have plenty of things going at one time, and that makes it easy.

I wanted a Viking range and we purchased one from P.C. Richards. The guy we worked with was a very helpful, nice man. We started the renovation in July and since we’re doing everything ourselves, it took a lot of work to get everything ready and the people from the dealership were very patient with us. When we were ready, they brought the different things that we needed when we needed them as opposed to everything at once. It worked out very nicely. So far, I haven’t had much time to do a whole lot of stuff with our Viking. I’m still getting used to it. I look at it and I’m thrilled. I like to bake and cook and I’m just waiting to get the time to try out different things with it. I like that the shelves are easy to move around. It helps out a lot. Also, they gave a lot of instructions on how to set things up inside the oven to make sure I can cook more than one thing at a time.

We did a kitchen update through a local company here in Columbia called DKB Kitchen Design. As part of our package, we had originally purchased a GE refrigerator. We had real serious problems and couldnt get any satisfaction with the GE refrigerator. We went back to DKB and explained the problems we were having and documented it for them. They volunteered to take our problematic GE refrigerator back and trade for a Viking Refrigerator. The Viking refrigerator has been doing the job but if I had one issue to complain about, it’s the icemaker. I tell our guests not to put a glass under the icemaker because the ice comes out so hard that I’m afraid it’ll shatter the glass. I contacted Viking about that at first and I got some cryptic response about how we can have a serviceman come out and look at it. And I told them I don’t think a serviceman can change the design of the icemaker. But other than that, weve had it for a year now and weve never had service issues unlike with the last GE refrigerator. It also matches all the other Viking appliances that we have. It does what it’s supposed to do.

We bought a new construction condo about 11 years ago and the builder put a Viking in there. That was the first Viking we owned. This time, we did our due diligence in looking at some of the other things that were out there. We looked at Wolf, but I liked the simplicity of Viking. We’re also very happy with the quality of the range. My wife does the bulk of the cooking and she really likes the evenness of the heating in the oven. All the burners are like power burners. Most of the stoves out there, you get one that maybe can put out the BTUs. But all the ones, Viking can do.Having now owned our second Viking, it seems, however, like the lighting on the burners is always a little tricky. Lighting the burners, its clicking and it’s not lighting and then I have to turn the knob. We have tenants in the condo that has a Viking and more often than not, especially when they’re new, people have a little issue lighting it and that’s one area that Viking could improve on. We had someone come out with the one in the condo and they said it was the igniter. We replaced that and the unit performed exactly the same way after, so it seems like it’s just the way it works.

I went to Best Buy and they had Viking Ranges on display along with the other brands and I liked it. Its simple. There are no any electric screens which I didnt like. It was all manual like those round switches. Working with the team members was great and they explained everything. Everything we received was in good condition except there was an issue. The thing we put on the top of the burner to hold anything like a big bowl has small rubbers so they wont make noise when they touch the panel and one of them is missing that small rubber. In my opinion they need to lower the price a little bit so we can buy the whole stuff cause right now I only have an oven and the microwave. I was looking to buy a refrigerator and a separate oven plus a washer.

Im a previous owner of a Viking range and Ive always had them. I actually wanted a Wolf, because Ive had a Wolf too, and it works a little bit better for me than Viking but I went with the Viking because I wanted a white stove and Wolf doesn’t make a white one. I did a whole house remodel and bought $70,000 worth of appliances from an appliance store that’s a Viking dealer. I had a very good experience there and everyone has been great. However, Im very disappointed with the Viking range and they’ve already changed it for me once. Tim from Viking has been incredibly generous and he offered to give me the new stove. It came but one of the ovens is not working again and theyre trying to change some parts now. The ovens don’t get calibrated and they don’t seal, which was the problem with my last stove, and they try to fix it multiple times. The new one needs to have major amounts of repairs on them again and Im hoping they can actually get it right. I love the look of it, but Ive had nothing but grief. Still, I would like Viking to know that I do appreciate how well they’ve handled all the problems with it. At least they’ve been very honorable about keeping their word on trying to make things right. The stove is $15,000, big, and a dual convection 60 inches. And I also don’t understand why it stains so easily. I wish I knew a better way of keeping it clean. I use my stove every single day, multiple times a day, and Im a neat freak. When they picked up the last stove, there were these stains and some splattering that went into the black part under the actual surface. If I don’t wipe it immediately, it gets glued on. When I got the new stove, I cleaned it immediately, but the towel I was using to clean left a mark on the actual caps of the stove. So its a Catch-22 where I want to clean up but then I really cant because it leaves a different kind of mark. I would love to have someone call me and let me know how to take care of it the proper way because the rep doesn’t know either.

Viking oven would probably be great if I could read the temperature or oven settings, but they wiped off years ago. After only two years, the black printed numbers and letters for the control setting wiped off. Never used any harsh chemicals. We only used window cleaner to clean it. No we have a very expensive oven that really cant be used because you dont know the temperature it is set on. I called Viking and they would only sell me another panel that would do the same thing. IMO this is not something that should happen within the lifetime of the unit!! If I were the manufacturer of a high end product like this, and this happen I would offer to make it right!! This could be a simple and inexpensive fix, but the refuse. I would rather have a oven from a old mobile home than this!! I dont even think Viking will even contact me about this to make it right. Save your money and go to a yard sale and get a G/E instead of Viking.

Im a hobby chef and I like the Viking we have in some vacation homes, the more expensive ones. And I love the old ones. 10 years old, 15 years old, or brand new. A Viking is a Viking. Im very happy with my Viking range. I have the 8-burner range with the dual oven, all-gas. But the broiler comes on and shuts off after three minutes. So, theyre gonna put a new one in to fix it. Other than that, it has convections, the lights, the temperature control, the small one and the big one, the lights and the knobs. I truly like everything about the range and I will not want anything else. Our Viking Dishwasher is my problem. It has been repaired four times now. They came out as soon as they could. They fixed it and then they had to come back, then they fixed it again. Either they are not very knowledgeable about the dishwasher or the dishwasher really has a serious problem. First, the mechanic was out two times for the lock. Then the dishwasher ran all night twice and the kitchen was really hot and then they put a new electric board, which was underneath the dishwasher. Now, every once in awhile, when I close the door and I want to put the program in, whether pot scrub or normal wash or what, it doesnt come on. You have to do it two or three times. Im not happy with it.

My first Viking range got damaged in shipping. The frame got bent and they had to put a new plate at the bottom. The door was warped too and it wouldnt close. Viking wanted a second opinion and the tech came out and confirmed that the range was damaged. Viking then sent a new one in which came within a week. However, the second was damaged too and the kickpipe at the bottom was bent. So, they put a new one. Thus far, I love the burners. On our old range, only one of the burners got hot. The other wouldnt boil water so I love the fact that both of my burners this time around are both really high-powered. Customer service at Viking has been good too. I figured that when their crew slides the range in, their guys belt buckle would scratch the top of the range because the scratches are in the same spot. Still, Viking took care of everything and I love my oven. Id definitely get a Viking again.

We rebuild our house in 2006 and decide to get top quality appliance for kitchen. After 5 years we have problem when warranty was over. Refrigerator was not cooling. We spend $700.00. Few month after icemaker was not working. We call authorize dealer tech. They charge $500. Few month after that cold water dispenser is not working. After couple of year again all same problem. Now in 2016 again same it was not cooling. Water dispenser is not working one after other. So far we spend @ $2500 for repair. It is not worth to spend $6000 to buy this build in 48 inch refrigerator. We have another GE refrigerator for 20 years no problem at all.

Our fridge was on its way out. Plus, we had a space issue and we wanted to find a fridge that would fit in it without having to cut our cabinets. The size was the biggest factor. We tried Viking Refrigerators just to try something different. It was also because we’ve heard good things about the brand and with the way it looked. We bought it online through some appliance website and they were okay. However, the installers were poor and didn’t put the ice machine in right, so it didn’t work. But that has nothing to do with Viking. The refrigerator has a freezer at the bottom which I like as it gives me more room at the top. It’s easier to organize my food because there’s a lot of refrigeration space. I like that both doors open. I also like how its working out. It’s easier just for me. It has a lot of flexibility. The ref is not built-in, but it looks built-in. It fits perfectly with the way we have our cabinets. So far, the refrigerator is of good quality. It is a nice product. It keeps even temperature. Its pricey but I like the way it looks and everyone in my family likes it.

Im a fireman and we have professional restaurant quality ranges so Im familiar with Viking. I like the style, quality and price of my Viking range. It needed a little bit of adjustment and thats about it. I also like the fact that it allows to heat up the pots, and the oven heats up really well so its very efficient. The dealer and delivery crew were great. And the service person has been here to look at it for a couple of issues. It was perfect. Overall, I got a good product for the money I paid and the individuals there at Viking really tried to help me when I called them up with an issue. I also have a Viking refrigerator and Ive had to live with two dings in its door for about four weeks. But theyre willing to help me because the doors have to be made and theyre replacing them. I have no problem with that but it is kind of an inconvenience when I spent $5,000 on the refrigerator. Its not cheap.

My husband and I completed our renovations in May 2018. We have had issues with the microwave drawer and the oven since we finished our kitchen. The panels were defected on both and we had to set up at least 4/5 appointments with the authorized service provider until the matters were remedied. Fast forward to January 2019 - the oven does not work above 300 degrees. I was advised by Viking that service can schedule an appointment to look at the oven in mid February!!! After several calls, we were scheduled for service today. When nobody arrived - we were advised that Viking canceled the appointment 3 days ago, never advising us of the change. Not only does the product fail to meet its reputation, the customer service at Viking is reason alone never to buy another Viking product.

Moved into our current house and replaced most of the appliances. The Viking French door refrigerator was a splurge. Soon after it was installed problems began. The refrigerator section began freezing all food. A tech was sent out several times. The problem persisted. They replaced the unit twice before one worked properly. It will freeze everything about twice a year. The second problem began about two years after installation. Water leaks out of the unit and the freezer section is constantly filling with water on the bottom. A tech said it was a common issue with the ice maker and that even if he replaced it the problem would return in a year. Once a month we break up the ice and remove it. No more water on the floor. Now the freezer door will not shut. When you close it and let go of the handle the door sags down and does not close. I have a tech scheduled but am fed up with the Viking brand. Never again.

We recently built a new house and purchased a Viking range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and wine refrigerator. In a short amount of time, we have had the refrigerator repaired four times - all involving issues with the ice maker and water dispenser. The dishwasher still works but the button that lights up when you push start does not. Apparently, that costs a couple of hundred dollars to repair. The wine refrigerator needed a new thermostat - that was a $400 repair. So far, we have not had any issues with the range or microwave. A Viking representative came out and repaired the refrigerator free of charge, but the other items were out of warranty (only 15 months old!). I have emailed customer support several times, but to no avail. I am a very, very unhappy and dissatisfied customer.

I love my Viking range and it is a very high-end quality product. However, not the customer service at Viking. When I had a problem with the warranty and me registering my product, the issue wasnt quickly resolved. I had made several phone calls before I was able to make a date for someone to come out and look at the issue that I was having. I was being pushed around a little bit because I never registered my product. So, they said that they were gonna register it. I called back a week later and they hadnt done it. Its something that I could have done on my end, but they said that they were going to do it. I had to say, Whats going on? And then they finally worked it out. So, once registering the Viking was taken care of, I was okay with it. But the customer service wasnt the greatest at the time of getting my problems resolved.

We bought our Viking range through Best Buy and the customer service was good over there until we started getting the appliances. They said it was like a white glove delivery. They took everything apart and installed it and it wasnt smooth. The fridge door was damaged and they swapped it but it wasnt good. They brought another one and it was exactly the same problem. We had to change it two times. They left that plastic that covered the stainless steel of the fridge. They didnt remove it well so its hard to get it now. Then, the first person that came to install the range said he didnt know how to install a gas range and an electrical oven so he just walked away. The other people that came to install it had the pieces they needed to bring, but they didnt have any other time to come and my husband and I had bought tickets for a concert so my husband had to miss that. I had to go by myself and we lost the money on that. And the guy was saying racist things. Also, the dishwasher came and it was completely destroyed. The door was all bent. We moved into the kitchen without the dishwasher. Then they brought a dishwasher and they installed it bad. They sent us the new people to install it and those people treated me really bad. It was a battle. If Viking has their product represented by Best Buy, it wasnt good and unfortunately, that’s reflected on Vikings product. But when we had a little problem with our range and we had to call Viking for the warranty, which was surprising, they resolved it. They sent a company that will come cover my area and they came after I called. It was relatively fast.

Built a new home in 2011, my ex wanted an elaborate kitchen that would be functional and fun to entertain in. We purchased Viking refrigerator, freezer, 2 dishwashers, 12 gas burners and 4 ovens, because our impression was Viking was top of the line. Turns out the line begins at the rear. The dishwashers never worked properly and I discarded them after 2 years & numerous service calls. The burners took several trips and replacement of the castings to get them level. The ovens take forever to reach temperature and each one takes a different setting to maintain required temperatures. Both doors on the refrigerator and freezer have sagged and required adjustments. Currently, we have been waiting for a month for a part for the refrigerator, in order to get the temperature under 50 degrees. Called yesterday again and was told that the part was on order and coming from the factory. I asked if it was coming by Pony Express, hello Viking have you heard about FedEx yet? Good thing I kept the 15-year-old Whirlpool or we would be eating out of a cooler.

It was a pretty good delivery and they didn’t do any damage when they came to the house. However, its hard to set up a service with them. The first two years with the Viking refrigerator was a nightmare. They came out 10 times. First, it was the wheels. Then it was the compressor. Then it was the coils. Something happened when it was put in. The people were inexperienced or they manhandled it. We told them to give us a new one and quit repairing it. It went back to Ferguson and they got us a new one. The install went better but the second refrigerator had a problem with the cooling fan. It was noisy from the second they plugged it in. Eventually, we got someone out. There were four or five different trips to repair this second one and sure enough, it was the fan. After two years, two refrigerators and 15 visits, the Viking refrigerator is working like it should. Its a nice refrigerator, but we went through a lot of troubles. Between two refrigerators and the repair, every time they repair it, you gotta take all the food out and I probably got scuffs on the floor. We wont get Viking again. We paid four or five times as much purely because Viking has such a good reputation but the worst thing about our house was this refrigerator. It got so bad that we called the attorney general of Minnesota who stepped in on the case. Viking’s been very polite when we call them up. The problem is there are different groups to work with - my contractor, Vikings, Ferguson, the person who installs it and a different person who repairs it.

Then replaced a fuse again (same one), and it quit again a week ago. We called the Viking Southwest President and spoke with him. Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! He stated he would get the record of repairs from their authorized service company (whom we did use!) and he would get back us. No call back. We called again and left a message 4 days after our initial conversation. No call back. Today, a new convection microhood from the competition was installed!

I always liked the look of Viking ovens and since Viking always seems to have a package deal sale, we got suckered into buying the package and “saving” some money. The Fridge is awful. The door is too heavy and constantly breaks. They will send someone to fix it, but it is a temporary fix. A band aid. We have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of food because this fridge door will not close right (very bad design way — too heavy). They will not do the right thing and replace the fridge. I wish we bought the other brand that’s a bit more expensive but actually lasts and is built right. Don’t fall for the bundle deal. There’s a reason they offer it.

The refrigerator was packaged well. The wall preparation information for this cabinet depth model was not accurate in that one of the two bolts used for anti-tipping did not reach the block on the wall. Dimensions given were not correct for the block (2x4) installation. The refrigerator holds temperature very precisely and the interior LED lighting is terrific. Shelves adjust nicely and so do the drawer units. All shelves and cubbies in the door adjust nicely. The one objection we have is that the refrigerator is quite noisy as refrigerators go. Even the owners manual mentions the whirring and other sounds that the unit makes. For a product that costs this much, one would think that it could be quieter. We will just have to get used to it!!

Viking Refrigerators has a good reputation and so far the quality of the brand-new refrigerator I received is good. I bought the refrigerator from H. H. Gregg who ended up going out of business so I had some problems in the beginning with delivery. I also ran into some issues with the sales department at Viking not sending somebody out to fix the door right away when the door wasnt closing properly. It was a handle that was loose and it wasnt anything I could fix myself. It had to be done by an appliance repair person. But once I got the refrigerator in the house and everything was up and running Viking was good about coming out and having an appliance repair person come out right away. Also the design is good. The French door-- its a convenient arrangement. You can access the drawers with only one drawer open so you dont let as much of the cold air out. Also the buttons that you push to change the temperature up and down are easily accessible and it is great. I also have a brand-new Viking dishwasher and an under counter refrigeration unit so I have three major appliances through them. Viking has been good overall.

Ive had my brand new Viking refrigerator since September 8 and it has been a lemon. It’s the third icemaker that’s been gone into it. The doors were supposed to come and before they could, the inside of the doors just started falling out of it. I had no icemaker during Thanksgiving and Christmas. They put one in one week and immediately it went before Christmas day. Weve been waiting and waiting and waiting, and a new icemaker came yesterday. And after 2 months, the icemaker decided to start working. This is a very sick refrigerator. I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator before and it was wonderful. But on my Viking refrigerator, every time I close the door, it dumps ice on the floor. The repairman said yesterday “Well, all refrigerators do that.” But my Sub-Zero didn’t. I was led to believe that Viking was a better appliance than the Wolf packages, but its not. I am very disappointed in what I thought was gonna be a very good product. And another thing was Ive had to ask for books to operate it. I called and told them I didn’t get any manual to work with me. They told me I can go online and print it out but it was 30 pages to print out.

I liked Vikings reputation with the stoves, and form and fit. However, Im disappointed with the refrigerator. We already had three service visits. We find it loud, which is a surprise to us. And it tends to ice things up in the fridge. The dealer has been responsive but they havent been able to solve the problem. They said we have to live with the icing issue. Thats by the design of the refrigerator. And that is also true of the compressor fan noise, which is, compared to the unit that we had that this replaced, its significantly louder than I would expect any in-home refrigerator to be. And especially a high-end refrigerator like Viking. For instance, for a long time it was loud enough that even the service person said, “Yes, that sounds like a failed bearing on the compressor fan.” And they came out and replaced that compressor fan. So they did that service. The original fan certainly had more of an issue. But the replacement fan is still significantly louder than the fridge that we had beforehand. If I could do it again, I wouldnt buy Viking.

I have owned a Viking range oven, microwave and refrigerator for over two years. Although I did not purchase them I was very excited when we found out they would be included with the purchase of the house. Since then I have been less than impressed. The refrigerator constantly leaks from the bottom of the pullout freezer. I have taken it apart myself and had multiple repairmen look at it to no avail. It has ruined my wood floors and constantly has to have a towel placed under it to soak up water. My oven was working ok for longer however now the fan constantly runs. Regardless of what mode its in (including when its off.) This has made my kitchen a very noisy place. I have yet to take a part and diagnose this issue. Lastly my microwave constantly blows fuses. The clock is too hard to see on the small screen and when it does work it is very inconsistent. To add insult to injury, the cost of fixing any of these issues by certified Viking suppliers is absolutely outrageous! For the time being we are dealing with what we have until we can save money to replace each product in the kitchen. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this company to ANYONE! We had a bad experience with our GE Profile refrigerator. The drawers were flimsy and plastic and I replaced one particular drawer three different times in six years. So we went to our appliance store, looked at our options for refrigerators and see what would physically fit into our existing space. We have Viking stoves and we like them and the gentleman showed us the Viking refrigerator. We liked the way it looked and it fit our space so we bought it. We also liked its vegetable drawer which is much better than the GE. We have a lot of fruits and vegetable in our house and we use the wide drawer for vegetables. We can live with it. However, when the ice maker feature drops in a little bucket, it kind of makes a big noise. But beyond that, its been great. Their team at the dealer was also very good. Unfortunately, the guys that came out and put the refrigerator in the first time didnt level it. It was an inch and a half out off the cabinets that it sort of resides in on the top and an eighth of an inch out on the bottom. But we called the next day and the guys at Aitoro sent somebody out within an hour and a half. They leveled it and it was perfect.

It is unfortunate that I have to write this on a brand such as VIKING since I have had nothing but troubles on the 48 range and the big side by side refrigerator. Over the years we had several problems including the refrigerator door that fell off and almost hurt my wife had it not been for the kitchen island that stopped the fall on her. Thankfully Viking replaced the door but it shouldnt have happened. Now the range, right from the beginning we had issues with the right sided burners and grill not working, the oven that always made a hissing sound every so often when in use which we didnt know was a faulty burner and fire spreader plate. On 4 occasions we had the Fire department coming to our house because of Carbon-monoxide leak from the oven that triggered the alarm which, thankfully, is hooked to the Fire Dept. The latest being this Thanksgiving Day while the oven was in use. When discussing this with Viking customer service, the answer we got was that upper management couldnt help and suggested a repair service company. The service company stated that this is not an isolated issue but common with VIKING. The parts alone is quoted at over $1200.00 plus labor. If anyone is thinking of buying a VIKING product - think twice before you spend the tens of thousands for this poor quality brand like we did several years ago. Shame on you VIKING.

Within a day of calling to schedule the repair, someone was out to look at the refrigerator but then the part took over a month. Their guy came this morning and was repairing the piece. He said that the piece was not even necessary and it was a piece that could create the same problem later on. It feels like theres some flaw in that design. It cooks so much faster than a gas or an electric range. I also like the size of it and the interior of the oven.

We just moved our belongings over to Bangkok, including a brand new Viking range which can handle gas canisters. The oven safety switch keeps switching off the oven, just like other have problems with, and the stove top click, click, clicks constantly. I thought this was a quality product. Now I have to find a Viking dealer in Thailand. The professionals that handle commercial stoves came over to our home and they also cant figure it out. How can such a good looking product be so absolutely unreliable? More to come.

My husband’s company does construction and they work with Viking Ranges. I was redoing my kitchen, so I put Viking appliances in it. I like my refrigerator and my microwave, but I’ve had a lot of problems with the range. The first one I had, the motherboard kept burning out. They replaced it four times. It broke on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. And then Viking replaced the oven back in January but there’s still different issues that keep coming up. I had the bake module replaced, but that did not solve the problem. I did manage to cook Easter dinner this year. At least when the oven shuts off I’m able to turn it back on. The other way, when it shuts off, there was no turning it on. So, I had to cook all my holiday dinners on the barbecue grill. So we’re back to square one. If this is a lemon, they might have to replace it again.I had some not so pleasant experiences with Viking, but Sheryl has been very helpful and good. They just cant understand what’s going on. They want to send another repairman from a different appliance company to see if a different set of eyes can see something different. But to be honest, I’m not holding out any hope for that. I would not recommend a Viking Range. They’re expensive appliances. When you go online, people aren’t that happy with the range either.

We have a Viking refrigerator that is 7 years old. It needs a repair in the water filter. First, it was hard to find someone who would repair it. The servicemen I called would not touch it, due to Viking not sending parts in a timely manner or not having parts. Thank goodness the retailer who sold our kitchen appliances to us will stand by their service!! They are going to try to repair our refrigerator without the part. Viking DISCONTINUED the part for a 7 year old refrigerator!!! We found this out after waiting one MONTH for Viking to let the retailer know. I have an entire kitchen of Viking appliances... I am so bummed. These appliances were supposed to be top end. Buyer BEWARE. Our local retailer no longer carries Viking due to these problems.

BUYER BEWARE. They will NEVER replace a product that is brand new and doesnt work, they WILL keep sending repair people and order parts. Fact: Bought a new Viking refrigerator/freezer. Fact: Doors are cracked and freezer doesnt work, refrigerator freezing everything. Fact: Notified retailer, they sent two repair people to appraise, both said it should be replaced. Fact: Third repairperson finally told us what Viking wanted to say, which was it can be fixed if we replace the doors and thermostats.Vikings policy is they will NOT take back, even a brand new appliance, if they can replace all of the parts. Problem, parts have been on backorder so we have no freezer for 2 months and our refrigerator freezes our food. Viking did offer us $400 to buy another refrigerator until the parts finally come in. Where are we to put this, and where can I get one for $400 with installation? I have begged, literally, for them to replace it... I didnt ask for our money back, just replace with a quality item... They refused. I was better off with my other brands that were less money. I will NEVER EVER tell anyone to buy Viking. Honestly, it is a horrible situation.

I buy design magazines and Ive always liked Viking. I liked its look and the efficiency, and Ive always thought Viking lasts longer so I definitely had the idea in my mind that it was a step above Thermador. I bought it four months ago but I bought it in Kentucky and I live in Utah, so it was in transit. I just registered it and Ive had it for more than a month. I bought it mainly for exterior and the tray storage feature that could store big platters and cakes. But I ended up liking the LED feature on the inside without knowing I picked it for that. I was surprised how cool the LED lights were. When the fridge was put in initially, the circuit board had a little wire popped out and it wasn’t turning on. I thought it was going to be a big fix. The compressor worked but it wasn’t getting cold and I sent the crew away without final install because I had my house under construction back then. A man came out to repair the fridge and now its all good. Everything has been great.

We attempted to fix it with experienced repair men but after changing the spark module and the ignitor, still nothing. What the heck have you manufactured Viking. For $5500.00 all we have at the moment is a hunk of metal with a $660 repair cost to boot to the original cost. Thanks for taking my money out of the bank and tossing it in the garbage. We were looking at all the high end range brands and went into Best Buy and had a look at Viking. We liked what we saw and the price was more economical for the quality that we get compared to the others. We had a very good sales rep who was able go into detail about a Viking range and what to expect from it versus a lower end priced brand. He explained things like how to clean the oven and how high heat with the self-cleaning ovens would typically end up destroying the integrity of the inside enameling. He gave a variety of information about little details that we would not think of.We got the series 5 which is easy to clean and does not deteriorate compared to the standard stove. It also cooks differently as theres an even heat. Plus, it also comes with the pull-out drawer in the oven which I love. My only two gripes is my particular series doesn’t come with a timer where I can time the temperature within the oven or have a timer right there on my stove if I’m baking a cake. We went back a second time looking for the timer and the salesman said it’s been discontinued and was only available to a certain model. The other one is I can’t seem to remove any stains from the golden-looking metal that extrudes from the surface of the stove top where the burner is without scratching it. I’ve used soap and water and I’m afraid to do anything else because I don’t wanna destroy the surface. Other than those, it’s a nice-looking range.

Viking Ranges was quite a good deal at that time and I could get the dishwasher for free. We bought some extended warranty and I thought I could negotiate it and I think it was cut a bit too much. It was my fault though. Other than that, Viking range is an excellent product and we had a very good experience. I like the simplicity of Viking ranges. I built a new kitchen in 2012. We splurged on a Viking fridge and have had trouble from day 1. The freezer broke every year, the defrost function in the freezer didnt work correctly, so the freezer would turn off and melted water would flow out. We finally had to get an upgraded compressor because the one in the fridge wasnt big enough. Big money. This year, the cooling fan stopped working in fridge. This was 3 weeks ago. My appliance repair contractors spent a week trying to contact service. Finally they sent a part, 3 days later… So now I face the 4th of July summer holiday, no fridge. This is the worst refrigerator on the market. In the 2.5 years we have owned the unit, we have had the following issues: handle broke off the ice drawer, handle broke off the vegetable crisper drawer, the hinge that keeps the door from hyper-extending has busted twice, the fan went bad, AND on top of that there is a faulty design with the circulation system that is supposed to circulate air from the freezer to the refrigerator -- it causes everything on the top shelf of the refrigerator to freeze, so we cant put anything on the top shelf (I talked to many Viking employees who admit they are aware of the problem and theres nothing they can do about it)! I just called customer service to plead for a new crisper drawer since our warranty just expired and it is clearly a faulty design. The handle is not secure on the drawers and breaks off very easily and they said, No, you will have to pay $213 PLUS shipping and handling for a new plastic drawer. The last refrigerator we owned cost $10,000 less and we didnt have a single problem in 10 years. Please dont buy a Viking refrigerator!

Theres something in the Viking brand name and about having a high-end appliance in my kitchen for resale. Its a fine refrigerator and it keeps my food cold. However, I feel like I have a refrigerator that I could have bought from a Home Depot. I could have gotten LG or the GE. Six months after owning it, the drawer broke. Ive got older kids and were not abusive to our refrigerator, but actually, it worked out better. Its easier not having the flap on the door that broke, so we kept it that way. My ice maker broke about three months ago too.We have had the refrigerator for two years and Ive been dealing with repairs, which has been going on now for a couple of weeks because it takes a couple of weeks to get somebody out and he just came. Now, its taking three weeks to order parts. And so the name, Viking Refrigerators, sounds terrible. It looks prestigious but I dont feel that I have any type of better quality appliance than if I had gone with a different brand. It hasnt done anything exceptional. I bought it for the prestige that comes behind Viking, but as far as the refrigerator, and even the stove top, microwave, and oven that I got, I feel that its exactly what I would have gotten with any other brand.

Save yourself the trouble and read all the previous one star reviews. I wish I had done that. Two years ago when building my dream kitchen, I splurged and purchased a Viking stove. The stove would not heat up consistently as many others have noted and I finally called Viking for advice. Apparently, the warranty period had changed from 3 years to 1 year so I was on my own. They gave me an authorized dealer and I had to pay $450 for a service call and new igniter part. I was not happy but at least my stove would be working properly. Its now just three months later and again the same thing is happening. The oven turns on but in the middle of cooking, the igniter keeps clicking and the temperature does not remain consistent. Its hit or miss whether youll be able to cook your food. I had a GE stove in my previous home that cost a fraction of my Viking stove and it worked perfectly for 10 years and was still going strong when I moved. Dont waste your money on this overpriced defective product.

Our Viking microwave oven stopped working and the parts took over two weeks to come into the warranty service company. That part arrived broken (or the service man broke it) and we waited another three weeks for the part to arrive. The part was in stock according to the Viking parts rep, so that delay is not acceptable. The functioning of both the microwave and oven are fine not great (cant use timer on microwave if its heating something and its unclear when the oven has reached the desired preheat temperature). All these issues make it highly doubtful wed purchase or recommend Viking again.

We bought the Viking Series 7 48” Dual fuel range with the ViChrome gridd
We bought the Viking Series 7 48” Dual fuel range with the ViChrome griddle for our remodel. The range looks really good, unfortunately we need one that works as well. Let me start with what works well. The burners are very nice, delivering consistent heat. The stove top is easy to clean with few nooks and crannies. Now for the things that don’t work well. The ViChrome griddle looks good but a horrible surface to cook on. The only thing that doesn’t stick like superglue to the surface is pancakes, as long as we use ghee. Any other fat or oil does not work at all. The surface is very difficult to clean. The griddle itself has a problem that there is a high temperature difference between front and back. The back will burn things while the front will undercook. Only about a 6” piece of the griddle cooks at the set temp. I had the workings of the griddle changed out by Viking service but it did not change a thing. We gave up using it as it’s not worth the trouble.By far the biggest disappointments are the two electric ovens. There is also a large temp difference between front and back of the ovens, upwards of 10 degrees. This too was addressed by Viking service but no change. The only way to get even cooking is to manually rotate the dish. The convection fan sounds like a jet engine and makes this very large range shake. Viking service replaced the fan in the larger oven but it shakes now more than ever. We gave up using the convection ovens as the noise and shaking are just too much to stomach particularly given the $15,000 price tag. Finally, each oven has a heating element at the top which shuts off when oven reaches temperature, unfortunately it will kick on during cooking when oven is at temp and proceed to burn whatever it is we are cooking. I lost count of how many dishes have been ruined by this. We have to watch the heating element constantly to insure the dishes don’t burn. The range looks great, but what a huge disappointment. I am a second generation Viking customer, growing up with the older models that built the great Viking name. There will not be a third generation Viking customer in my family. There are better products out there a 1/4th the price.

I went with Viking for their style and quality. However, the quality of the range that I bought from them is mediocre for what I paid. It cost $5,000 and it’s not really living up to it. The door is loose. It hasn’t worked properly and its slow to start sometimes. I had tried to rectify the door myself a few times and Viking did come out to rectify it. I called Viking and it was pretty good. I complained about the door and they were nice. But the dealers at Karl’s Appliance wasn’t so great. They’re sort of flakier. But I like the five burners. It’s the 30-inch stove. It fits the space. Those who come to my apartment love looking at it. They’re jealous. But that wasn’t what we were going for. We wanted a big stove/oven. Its the wider range, its freestanding. It gives you more capacity inside. It has three racks as opposed to just two. It would be better if Viking could extend the warranty. Mine’s good for like three years allegedly. And now, its only a year-long from what I hear which is sort of silly. Mine hit the cut-off date unless the seller offers included the warranty. My LG washer has a 10-year warranty. And it’s expensive to install and what have you. The result is expensive. This one is a $5,000 range and then, two, it’s expensive to just connect it and reconnect it with the new ones. Moreover, it would be better for it to have heat-resistant handles. When you’re cooking at a high temperature for a while, the knobs near the top front of the top of the space get really, really hot and they’re not supposed to. And the door is not supposed to get that hot, either. For instance, if youre cooking turkey for a long time. It takes three hours and it gets hot. They should work on that and get that fixed.

The quality of the Viking refrigerator is good and the performance is great. However, the functioning of the doors is not good which might have been due to the installation. The center tab of the door doesn’t match correctly. It slams into the other door. The clearance there is just off sixteenths of an inch. Any weight that you put on the door would make that clearance such that that tab will pop out again then you end up closing the door and slamming the other door so you can close it. I called different people who are Viking certified to look at it three times but they couldnt fix it. I dont know if this door issue is a manufacturing issue or an installation issue. I have another cheap refrigerator for 600 bucks and that works a lot better when it comes to doors and functionality.

Its a New Year but I have an old and all to common complaint about a Viking Professional 36 Dual Fuel Range with an electric oven Model VDSC3676BSS. The ignitors for the gas range did not work when the stove was installed in 2007. They were replaced under warranty. Four years later, the spark module has failed again. I have a Viking side by side fridge, double oven unit and a range top - While the range top seems to work Ok The Fridge is the worst, between the ice maker not working properly, water evaporation unit does not work (a known problem) where you have to empty/wipe off the water from under the unit, and various shelf draw handles and side door, doors have broken off (replacements are expensive). The oven works ok but in the first year all the temperature and oven controls (bake, convection bake, broil etc) have worn off, and its not like I used steel wool to clean this, but really how is this even possible? This refrigerator is a disaster! The ice maker has broken repeatedly since Ive owned it. Repair calls and bills for that and it still doesnt work. The plastic handles on the bins are all broken. When you pull on them to open the drawers, they break. And the worse thing? It leaks. I have thousands of dollars of damage to my bamboo floor. After having this repaired, I see that the pan under the refrigerator fills up with water every few days. This is a refrigerator, not a high tech device. The engineering should be mundane. Ive had other refrigerators from GE that are far less expensive that never needed servicing. Nothing with this refrig works and I dont understand how this company could release it for sale, not have a recall, not replace them, not offer money back. Viking was already the brand we had in the kitchen. The refrigerator broke, so I replaced it with the same brand. I bought it through a third-party seller and the experience was poor. The product was delivered with a manufacturer defect. The doors had to be zip-tied up because the installation is difficult if the doors are moving about. After it was installed, my husband and I realized the doors dont close. What upset me about the third-party vendor was that they said that its our problem, not theirs, and left. But Viking immediately stepped in and sent help with their repair people around town. I have had to use them on two or three occasions once again, all from the defect of original product delivery. No issues that went wrong. They have been incredibly responsive. Its a brand that stands by its quality. On the other hand, they did let a fridge that doesnt have doors that close past inspection somehow, so thats also strange. But when they realized they messed up, they fixed it. The refrigerator is not the right size and its a loud machine, but it does the job and has lots of storage.

Let me start off with how terrible this company is with everything they do. They claim that they strive to be the best with customer service and this and that but its all false lies that any customer shouldnt believe. I will NEVER, EVER recommend this company to anyone or recommend anyone to buy any of their products as they are crap and parts need to be replaced numerous times throughout the year. A couple of years back we purchased a 7 thousand dollar Viking range and if I went on to explain the problems this oven has caused us it would go on and on forever. 500 dollar burners had to be replaced numerous times throughout the years as well as numerous other parts which werent working, leaving us with repairs worth more or equal to the price of the oven from day one. We decided to contact the company and put in a claim because we saw that they rebranded the company and a lot of complaints were filed with them in the earlier years about the same exact oven we had. They requested all repair documents even stating that they saw we had to get it repaired by them within the first few months. We spoke to a customer service representative named Lashelle ** and she was the most terrible one of them, all rude and didnt help with anything, barely got responses to emails and had to go out of our way to get a response back from her. She finished the review and said theres nothing they can do about the oven. Screw your company and crappy pieces of ** ovens which you do nothing for the customer who has problems with them. DO NOT BUY AS YOU WILL REGRET THIS PURCHASE SEVERELY.
