The Vikings Range was already in my fourth house when I bought it in September 2015. The range, including the oven, gets hot super super fast and that concerns me because it cooks food so fast. When I scramble eggs, the estimated time is half of what it would normally take. Im concerned about burning and fires so I have to watch it. Its almost short of a microwave, and because of that it creates potential danger.
I like the Viking refrigerator. Ive had it for a few weeks now and so far, its well. But it was delivered without the shelf. Im unhappy with that.
I havent used my Viking range enough yet, but the product quality is great. The team dealer was good and Id recommend them.
We went out and looked at a lot of different specialty shops and we were looking for high-end appliances. We came to really enjoy and like the way the Viking refrigerator looked and we decided to purchase one. The quality seems fantastic. Weve had one little bump in the road where it wasnt defrosting properly in the freezer and they sent a tech out. Not only was the guy very knowledgeable, but more impressive than anything was that he had the broken parts on his truck. 9 out of 10 times when we ever have somebody come out to fix any appliance, its always a miracle, no matter what breaks, they never have it on the truck. So this guy knew exactly what he was doing and he was effective. He was in and out in 45 minutes. But I didnt realize until we got the refrigerator home and the wife and I looked at it that it wasnt quite as deep as we thought it was going to be when we saw it on the showroom, from a standpoint of inside the refrigerator. But maybe they have one of the deeper models. Other than that, its a beautiful piece of almost like furniture, especially the lighting inside of it, which is fantastic. And its easy access for everything, so nothing but praise to the unit so far. I have also many times recommended Viking to a friend.
We had a custom kitchen built in Texas that Iâve had Viking products. Of the high-end brands, they were the least expensive and they were very reliable. But the quality of their refrigerator is not great at all. I wouldâve been better off going to Home Depot. Weâre on our third fridge from Viking. The first fridge we bought, we were told that it was a floor model, brand new, so we bought that one. It was shipped to us and we installed it. Three months later it broke. I called the Viking service tech. There is only one service tech in the Colorado area, so it took a while for him to get to me. He opened up the back of the fridge and said that it is a used fridge and itâs not under warranty. He looked up the serial number and he found out that that fridge was actually already warrantied by Viking and it was supposed to be destroyed. Then Viking West Coast and Viking East Coast, the two corporate offices got into a pissing match on who was responsible for it. So we were caught in the middle of food that wasnât cold⌠while they tried to figure out who was gonna warranty it because Viking West Coast said itâs already been warrantied and its not their problem because we bought it from an East Coast dealer. It eventually got up to one of the VPs at Viking corporate and they said Viking East Coast will take care of it. They sent me a replacement refrigerator that the shipper dropped off the back of the truck. And then we rejected that fridge. Then they told us, âIâm sorry but that was the last fridge in North America.â The next fridge was on a set of containers coming over from China. And thatâs when I found out that Frigidaire made their fridge. I told them Iâm not paying an extra thousand dollars for a Frigidaire then. We eventually got one that was supposed to be going to one of their preferred dealers to market. It was a new fridge - a new model, because they werenât making the old model anymore. And itâs been working ever since.
This is the worst refrigerator that Ive ever purchased. We ordered all of our Viking appliances while our kitchen was being remodeled. It arrived on February of this year, when our new kitchen remodel was finished. After delivery, I saw that the refrigerator doors were not parallel to each other. From then on I kept on calling them so they could fix it. They finally fixed it but then again the freezer started frosting very badly. So I called them again, after 2 weeks I received the new part and they finally came and installed a new part for freezer. So now my refrigerator started frosting again. I keep telling them that this refrigerator needs to be exchanged but they just keep sending me a technician to come fix it. They cant. I made a big mistake getting the Viking refrigerator.
Theres a drawer in my Viking refrigerator and it was broken right after the first couple of days I used that. Also, when I called Viking for warranty on oven, fireplace, and the refrigerator, they couldnât even help me to find the serial number. The reps were extremely impatient and they even sighed on the phone. For a $400 refrigerator, Im okay with that but not for a $10,000 one. And then, once the technician arrived, they checked the serial number and it was completely a different place than what the reps told me. Up to now, I still havent received my the part for the drawer. The technician said he will order the part and it has been a month since then. I donât like Viking at all.
The Viking refrigerator has been excellent. However, the experience with the third party dealer was lousy. Three of the five pieces that I ordered had damages. They were cosmetic and not in a location where anybody would see but were pretty significant damages.
I bought Viking appliances because of their reputation but I can attest that it is not warranted. The oven does not bake evenly, makes constant clicking noises when heating, and sometimes just refuses to heat to the appropriate temperature. Very frustrated with this really expensive appliance.
Purchased in 1976. Arrived with defective igniters that the company would not address; but fortunately a service person was kind enough to change out for free. He cared more about their reputation than Viking. This is WAY overpriced and rated for what it is. The oven temperature has always been off and there seems no way to calibrate it. It is a pain to clean and maintain. I would never buy one of these again.
I had a Viking cooktop before and last August, I had a Viking Range installed. Since I didnât want all the electronics that most ranges have and wanted to keep it simple and fewer things to break, I went with Viking and it seemed to meet that need. I had a very good experience with the company where I got the range from and they were very helpful. I feel good about the quality of the range. I wish the oven was a little deeper but having the convection part, I love the depths of the oven. The range is working well and is easy to use, and a lot of my friends have Vikings too.
I have had my Viking Range for three weeks. My son has one and he knew I needed a new range. He researched on the internet and he found it. I cooked on his stove quite a bit, so I liked it especially its sturdiness as well as its grills. The grates are really heavy duty. The only downside is that the burners donât go down far enough to low heat. Other than that, itâs working very well. The dealer was excellent and he was efficient. He was clean, and he took off his shoes. He was courteous, very professional, just really a gentleman.
I would not recommend buying this refrigerator. After spending $4,000.00 on this refrigerator, we have waited 4 days for customer service to assist with warranty and have now had to contact an outside agency. After 2 hours of attempting repair and figuring codes we still have a non working Viking refrigerator. I have never had an issue with a cooling fan (per code) and have paid less than half of this money for other refrigerators. Appliance repair state this refrigerator is made by too many different companies and is very difficult to fix. I hope Viking stands behind its product and fixes this refrigerator or sends us a new one.
We liked what we had heard about Viking then we have a friend that put in a Viking and we liked the setup of it. We got the built-in refrigerator and its not as deep as a regular refrigerator, which we like because things dont get lost in the back of it, but its taller. We like the door, the freezer section in the bottom, and the way that the drawers are self-closing. We can arrange them to where we have a place at the bottom that we can put platters into or a pizza box or whatever we want to. We also like the fact that everything was made out of metal. Aside from the refrigerator, we also got the French door double oven, the six burner cooktop with the griddle and thee optional griddle, the vent hood, two warming drawers, and a microwave, from Viking. We love the quality of our Viking appliances and we would recommend them highly.
We bought a home with an Italian Fhiaba refrigerator. We had a lot of problems with it and we had to replace it. It cannot be repaired and we only had a certain amount of money that the manufacturer had given us to purchase another refrigerator. The Viking was on sale and thats why I purchased it. It was not my first choice though. The drawers for produce, meats and cheese storage bins are so cheap and I was shocked at the interior for a Viking product. I was sad to lose my Italian refrigerator which was well-made and had beautiful interiors. I would not have bought the Viking refrigerator but it was at the right price, so I ended up with it. But would I buy another one? Absolutely not. We purchased a completely renovated home, and all the appliances were Vikings. The six-burner gas stove and the microwave are all okay, and they work great. But I would not recommend the refrigerator. When I knew I had to replace my previous refrigerator, I went onto several websites to read reviews, and very few of them were good. But my husband wasnt going to spend more money because we bought a house with a $10,000 refrigerator that ended up not working after two years. Even the plastic inside of a Sears Kenmore refrigerator is better. Viking has these soft close drawers for cheese and veggies, which are awful. I have to treat them with kid gloves, because Im afraid theyre going to break on me at any given moment. The company that owns Viking make commercial grade refrigerators and U-Line is one of their products. Its an amazing refrigerator. Why dont they use some of the same materials? Viking has been synonymous with high-end quality. But they really fell short on this one. Looks good on the outside, poor quality on the inside.
I was a little intimidated by this range coming from my flat top electric. But, its easy to use. Its accurate, the oven heat up quickly. My only qualms are that there is no audible tone when the oven has preheated and there is no clock and/or timer. Its a beautiful piece of equipment though.
Ive had Viking for 30 years. However, the quality of the new Viking range is not as good as before. The handles fall off and the door doesnt close as tightly. But I like the burners and its easy to clean the stove. I also like the flammability, the BTUs, the output, and the adjustability of the flame.
Our new house came with the upgraded package of Viking, but the range never worked. The stove wouldnât light and we couldnât keep it lit. It took us almost a year of repeated people coming out. We couldnât get it right and it was because of multiple things. When they put it in, they got the wrong backing and it took three different people just to get that right. It was a huge relief when Viking replaced the stove for us. I like the stove, but when its on the blower is so strong that I canât put a low heat on my stove top. If I have the oven on, I canât put low on the burners because the blower blows into the burners. The repair people that we had were polite and professional and I dont fault them in any way. It was one of them that helped me get the new range. But Im disappointed and I will never buy a Viking again.
Weve got Viking for the name brand. The purchasing experience was good and everything went smoothly. The Viking dealer was very helpful too. The range I got was a builder and it looked good although I havent actually used it yet.
When we were looking for a refrigerator, we had an idea on the size and the Viking rep directed us to the model. We just got our Viking refrigerator a few weeks ago and it is of great quality. The lighting is great and it is a pretty solid refrigerator. The guy that we worked with was experienced and knew what he was doing.
Less than 2 years old is making noises and doesnt clean. Called Viking, they dont have anybody in Erie that wants to repair it. Everybody runs away from my dishwasher. The same people that have serviced my Gaggenau, Bosch and Sub Zeros dont want anything to do with my Viking dishwasher. Professional, what a joke. We have barely used it and is already broken. The worst part is customer service. No help at all. Im cutting my losses and ditching this piece of junk.
Weve had our Viking Range for a few months now and its been awesome. Both ovens work amazing. The griddle is good, its just that its a little difficult to clean at times. But then I can get everything I want out of a 48-inch range and its right in line with other pieces of equipment that are at the same cost.
Totally disappointed with their service. We are retired. My husband is Vietnam veteran suffering exposure to Agent Orange so the oven is an integral part of our meal preparations. We had a service technician evaluate the problem which was faulty oven door hinges. We asked Viking service could they give us any assistance in covering some of the cost of the hinges or possibly the installation cost. We were told, No. That it is not our policy and we were on our own. As good as this stove has been, I would never buy another Viking product again. I caution anyone considering purchasing their products.
Weâve had our old Viking Range for at least 14 years. We did some comparisons this time but still ended up with Viking because of our past ownership. The quality of the new range is top-notch and it has the ability to do the low simmer on the burners, which is really nice. In the oven, the slide rails are really nice, for the racks, too. The Viking dealer was terrific, knowledgeable and very nice and we had done a lot of background research so we didnât really have many questions for them. However, we had a problem with the oven igniter so we called them back and they had somebody out to fix it the very day that I called. They were completely supportive.I love the burners and the oven itself and Iâm getting used to using convection. The old oven didnât have convection so Iâm playing around with temperatures. I really like the new ranges quality and some of the features but there could be some improvements. One of those is the oven fan runs for a really long time after I turn the oven off and it is annoying to have that constant fan there. The oven window and the oven light are really miserable. There might be better ovens out there, in terms of the oven light, oven window, and that annoying fan. But other than that, itâs really nice and sure is pretty.
I bought my Viking refrigerator about two months ago. We remodeled our kitchen and I just put it in about three weeks ago. I havenât had good luck with it so far. The door doesnt close and they havenât fixed it yet since I bought it. They came out and looked at it and they said they had to order parts, and they said theyâll get back to me in a week or two. I was on hold for over six hours one day, trying to get a hold of them. Once we got through, there were a lot of problems. We had to do a lot of it online and then they wanted pictures of the serial number âcause they didnât believe us. Its been a terrible experience.
We bought a new house and Viking appliances came with it. One of those appliances was a refrigerator and Ive found that the layout and functioning bit of it has been fine. Its of good quality and it has nice hardy doors. However, I have two issues with the freezer that will make me not wanna buy that product again. First, when I open up the door at the bottom where the ice maker slides out, the whole drawer comes out with it because of the magnets at the front. If the icebox is full, the little metal arm thing that comes down knocks all the ice off. Ice goes all over the floor and the back of the freezer and thats a major pain. We have hardwood floors and so when the ice falls on it, we cant feel like we can just leave it. Another issue I have is that when the pump turns on to pump water into the ice machine. Itâs super loud, like really loud. You can hear it across the whole house. While we can tell itâs filling, all the other pumps weve ever had for other houses that weve owned have been super quiet. We couldnt even hear the water running. I will not buy that particular model again because of these two issues. Nevertheless, the freezer keeps things cold and it works really well. I think itâs a good quality product but the ice maker and water pump are poorly designed.
A friend of ours recommended Viking Refrigerators and my husband looked at everything online and read the reviews. We purchased everything online and it went well. Everything was like how they told us. Plus, everything was here on time. The refrigerator had a lot of space, which was the one thing I was looking for. Plus, the separations are perfect. Iâm really happy with what I got.
The experience with Viking Refrigerators has been great so far although I had to have some repairs done immediately. It was nothing big. During the shipping, one screw got loose and one light cap came off. I have a technician coming out today for an EO code on my under the counter fridge. I called the warranty company local in Houston and theyre good.
For 11 LONG years I have struggled with my Viking Refrigerator/bottom drawer freezer. I have had numerous service calls. The freezer/refrigerator drains as it is supposed to but I have ice build up in the freezer. I have been defrosting it every two weeks with a hair dryer for many years. Viking has not been supportive at all and neither has Ferguson from where I purchased it. If a company sells a product, you would think you would have backup, especially since the appliances are so expensive. I have had problems with my Viking stove - wont lock. Problems with my under counter ice maker, problems with my wine cooler and problems with my stove. I keep living with them because they were so expensive and they look good - they just dont work well! Ive learned my lesson. I will never deal with Viking or Ferguson again.
The quality of our Viking Refrigerator is good. Its all metallic and easy to pull down drawers and wash and clean. But the thing that we are having an issue with is when you open the refrigerator, its very heavy because the door is custom-made. Then the stopper there broke last week. So we had someone come and replace it. But Im worried that its gonna happen again. Other than that, everything is good.
This refrigerator was serviced within a year after purchasing it. The doors started becoming uneven. Two repair men had to remove the door and replace the pin. They do not have factory pins so the door is still slightly uneven and makes a weird sound when its opened. Fast forward to today and the freezer is warm, my food is thawed. I have had nothing but issues with my dishwasher that doesnt dry my dishes, 6 burner range, microwave needed a part. The self cleaning oven doesnt do a good job and the grease is still on the door window. I never imagined that spending top dollar for appliances would be such a headache and so costly. Please, if youre in the market for new appliances, DO NOT buy Viking!
We bought a house and a Viking refrigerator came with it. Itâs pretty and weve been using it for three years now. It was too expensive to have broken twice with two completely different issues whereas other refrigerators have never been broken. So, we were not happy with it. I called Viking but there was not enough repair people from them so I had to wait a week and all my food went bad both times.
I had an electric range before and Viking is better. Itâs a very nice range. Also, they have good customer service. As soon as I called, they gave me an answer for my little problem. The installation was wrong and they said they would send someone to fix it. Then, I called back to say that it was already fixed.
We moved into a house that had a Viking refrigerator and weve been using it since then. The quality of the ref is okay and I liked the inside of it. I know really good things about Viking and I have a positive association with them. But when some of the handles on the refrigerator door kept coming loose, I was disappointed because I had the expectation that their products were so high in quality. Other than that, however, I like the Viking ref. The ref door just needs to be tightened with an Allen wrench, but its annoying to have to keep doing that. Im sure there are other models and if I picked the ref myself, I may not have picked that exact model. For one thing, it doesnt have an ice maker in the door. But Im pretty satisfied with it. Its under warranty and people have come out to help us with stuff.
We have owned many Viking appliances over the years. Our most recent purchases have been a $5,000.00 freestanding gas range (VGSC530-4B) with 2 safety recall problems. Very inconvenient and required 2 days of my time to coordinate service people and repairs. Second, an undercounter microwave oven (VMOD240) which cost $1,300.00 and has a cheap plastic keypad. The finish started wearing off of the numbers within 18 months of normal use (by 2 people). Now it looks unsightly and dirty even though it is clean. I just ordered a replacement keypad part which cost $90... ridiculous for a strip of plastic. A microwave this expensive should be of higher quality and last longer. Also, over the phone, Viking customer service representatives can be snooty and surly. Hello... I am a C U S T O M E R... who has spent a significant amount of money on your products. Maybe you should be nice!! I will consider purchasing appliances from another manufacturer for my next project.
I built a custom home in 2008 and chose to install an all-Viking kitchen, based on their supposedly superior professional performance, quality and reputation. Specifically, I purchased a 6-burner range with a grill and griddle, double oven, double door ref, wine cooler, microwave, dishwasher and food warming drawers! Within the first month, the drawers in my refrigerator both cracked because the door trays hit them every time they are opened and closed. Then the top shelf and the vegetable drawer froze all of my food! The door to my wine cooler keeps flying open and the dishwasher was serviced several times because it started to smell like a wet dog. The repairmen (several came and couldnt fix the thing) said that it was because the hose kinks trapping food and causing it to ferment. So appetizing! Currently, my dishwasher has been out of service for six months and counting because the authorized Viking servicer cant seem to get the part from the factory because its been discontinued! (My GE dishwasher lasted over 26 years and I could always get parts!). Finally, my Viking microwave broke twice in the first four years! All of this inconvenience and frustration just to have friends come over and admire the Viking Professional logo on all of my appliances, at least until I tell them that Viking has the worst-designed appliances ever made and the quality control department should be standing in some unemployment line somewhere for bilking customers out of their hard-earned money! Dont be a victim! Do not buy Viking!
We ran into the Viking Refrigerator and it was on sale. Plus, we liked it and it was counter depth, which was what we were looking for. Its quality is good. I like that itâs tall enough so that you can place the wine bottles right on the door where you can move the shelves. And I like the compartment for the wine bottles too. However, you cannot open one of the drawers without opening up both doors. We thought we needed some repairs a while back. When we came back, it wouldnât make any ice. We replaced the filter and it seemed to work, but it has been taking too long to make ice.
Just started cooking in brand new oven. The smaller left side oven just made a loud sound and is now not functioning. The right side oven door hinge came off when opening the door and nearly slammed on my foot. I was barely able to lift the door to get it in place. I have only had the 48 range installed the last two weeks. Very disappointed that Viking made in America is poor quality. I now have to wait until Monday to get any support. Anyone else have this experience?
Viking Ranges is one of the brands youâd look at if youâre looking for a professional-style range. Ive checked them out as I was doing a kitchen renovation. Iâve got a bit of an older model from them. It looks more clean and itâs not as fancy-looking. Its just simple, and I want it to work well and not look pretty. Performance-wise, I like how much heat it can put out and the consistency of that. Itâs a lot more powerful. I like the high heat of it and also its ability to keep it below simmer. You can get it really low. Most ranges canât hold such a low flame. The range has been great and Iâm getting adjusted to cooking with it. One of the things that I think was a bizarre design of the range is when you have the oven on and it gets to a temperature, it cycles on and off. And it seems like it cycles rather frequently. Itâll shut off and then youâll hear, âTick, tick, tick,â and then it will all fire back up. I thought there was a problem with it, so I called Viking just to understand. From what I understood, the newer models have this glow bar, and itâs a little bit different. I think they fixed that but changed the mechanism. The Viking customer service were helpful and was okay. I had some problems at first when I got the range. When I was trying to get it troubleshot and have someone come out and take a look at something that there was a problem, it took them almost two weeks before they were able to get someone to me. That was just a little bit long, especially considering I just got the product. For people who likes to cook and can afford a range like Viking, I think it would be a good range for them to get.
Ive known about Viking for years but I couldnât afford it. I saw them in model homes and heard they were of good quality, plus they look good. I finally got a whole set of the Viking Professional at Fergusons. The refrigerator has been installed for one year now and so far, I like it. Itâs a tall refrigerator with a big door. The freezer is at the bottom and is spacious, then thereâs a drawer that comes out where you could put meat or veggies. You can see everything, and nothing gets lost. Weve always had Sears products so this is very different. Itâs so beautiful and it looks so professional like it belongs in a restaurant.
Viking Ranges had long-term warranty and they had reviews of how it cooked meat, so I chose them. There were multiple dealers so purchasing it wasnât too difficult of a process. But youd need some plumber to put it in because it was so heavy. It was lifted not from the bottom and I donât think they did a particularly good job of it. There was that kind of lip that came out and too often that was used, that was not reinforced enough to handle the weight or sometimes the door was also used incorrectly. It should not to do it that way, but it looked like a handle and people invariably lift and pull on it.In the two years and a half that Ive had it, weve had the thermometer broke and weâve had that replaced, but it was under warranty. We called them and then they called us back and then they made a stress test, but eventually we got through it. The process wasnât super-fast, but weâre easy-going, so we managed around it.Im not really happy with the baking. Itâs inconsistent. And with the stuff that got on the burners and spilled on it, you just canât get them cleaned after a while. This is sort of the nature of the stove itself. There are certain parts that are more difficult than others. Everything that weâve read about it is pretty much true and that has been consistent. So, we knew what we were getting, that it was gonna be expensive, that it didnât cook real evenly, but it still looks cool and they have a roadmap of how to get it better.
I had purchased a Wolf 30 gas range but the infrared broiler was not as good as 16 year old Viking gas range. Wolf is a very reputable and reliable company and took back the range that I had for a few months and returned my money (a first class outfit). So I purchased a new Viking range and am thrilled with some of the new features. The shelves in the oven roll out and one burner has more BTUs than the rest for big jobs. Also the infrared oven is excellent and the top is now sealed so liquid does not drip down into the guts of the oven and rust it out like the old one. The company is not as generous as Wolf and made me purchase a new set of knobs with the color of my choice (black) for better visibility and would not take back the silver ones as an exchange.
I like the way Viking operates and I especially like the look of the Viking professional stove. Ive had Viking before so I got them again when I moved into a new home and I went to replace the appliances. The quality has been good. But I moved into a condo in Florida and they donât allow gas so I got the induction. Itâs different for me because itâs an induction and before Iâve always had gas. The rep was helpful the first time I went in and helped me select the product. But when I had some questions and went back, it was like they didnât have time for us. They did it twice. She was doing something else and she was dealing with some other customers. I got the Viking professional range and I thought I was getting the Viking professional microwave. I didnât realize until after they had installed it in that it was Viking and not the Viking professional. There was nothing I can do about it but I was disappointed in that because I was trying to get matching appliances. But overall, Iâve been very pleased with Viking.
It would take days to fully explain all of the trouble weve had with our Viking refrigerator and freezer. They are both about five years old and have been nothing but trouble. The first freezer was deemed a lemon and was replaced just before we purchased our home. The replacement freezer has never worked properly. Over the past year, I have had the local repair company at my home about a dozen times. My children are familiar with the man. They greet him by name; we even got him a Christmas gift! That is how familiar we are with the repairman.Last March, the refrigerator stopped working. It took over a week just to have someone come and diagnose the issue. Then, the part we needed was on back order. We were without a refrigerator for over a month. As a wife and a mother of two young children, you can imagine the problems this caused. Once it was repaired, it worked for a few months, until we began having issues again in the summertime. We also had an ongoing issue with the freezer developing a sheet of ice on the back wall. On December 18, 2018, we had the repairman come for the issue with the ice in the freezer (I think this was his fourth time coming for that particular issue), as well as an issue with the refrigerator developing a sheet of ice behind the drawers. Each time we have one problem repaired, a new one comes up. I actually called Viking Customer Service and spoke in detail with a representative on February 12th. I explained that we had been without a refrigerator since December (in addition to the ice developing, there was another issue that caused the refrigerator to stop cooling). The part needed to repair this problem was on backorder. She was very kind and helpful and assured me she would return my call within 48 hours. I have yet to hear back from her.The cost to replace the refrigerator and freezer is over $20k. The fact that we have an appliance that is that expensive and it rarely functions properly is absolutely ridiculous. I would happily purchase another brand, but nothing is the same size as the Viking. Therefore, were looking at having to renovate our kitchen and change the cabinets to accommodate a new refrigerator and freezer. I had a sliver of hope after speaking to the customer service representative, but now I know that was too good to be true. Not only are the Viking products unreliable, they dont care about the consumer.I have never been so dissatisfied with a product or a company. I have spent countless hours on the phone with the repair company and days at home waiting on service. Ive wasted money on the repairs, not to mention the obscene amount of food, both refrigerated and frozen, that Ive had to throw away. I honestly cannot believe they are able to get away with selling these products.
The look of the Viking refrigerator made us purchase from them. The quality is good, but it showed up dented in the front so I had to have the door replaced. Then, the freezer had some issues, but it all met the warranty. The repair guy came out four times already, so it has been easy to work the issues out. They have also been easy to schedule. The dealer we went with was okay, too.
We previously had a Sub-Zero refrigerator and we love it. We had the long handles with the furniture door front on it. My wife wanted to have something that evoked that look. We knew that we did not want to go for Sub-Zero appliances again in this remodel in Florida so we went with the Viking refrigerator because there was a point price differential and it was attractive. Plus, the gas stove was decent, too. However, our problem with the refrigerator has been directed towards the cosmetics. The skin is just ridiculously thin and every door that we had delivered had dents in it. In the light, you can clearly see the dents and there are also obvious manufacturing issues such as the bottom freezer door. The top lift of it has the same three dings on the upper lift, through every door that weve seen in the same spot, so its clear that there is something on the assembly line that ticks these door fronts up and moves them along the line. My wife went online and spoke with somebody at the local Viking place down here. The authorized Viking dealer where we bought it and we dealt with has been wonderful and the refrigerator is working fine. But its just so aggravating to look at the refrigerator and see these little reflections off of dents and it really makes it look like not a quality product.
I was looking for refrigeration, and I was doing renovations. I went online. I had wanted to upgrade from what I currently had, which was the JennAir Professional Series. I wanted something on the Wolf or Viking line. I did not go with Wolf because I could not afford the Sub-Zero Refrigerator. So, I decided to go with Viking. I looked at the reviews. I had ordered it from an appliance shop. Then I went to Ferguson Showroom to see what it looked like because the appliance shop didnt have a display. I knew it was looking like what I wanted it to look like. When I went to Ferguson, they didnt have any Viking on their floor. The salesperson said, âYou know what, Latrina, I wish you would have came to us first because our customers had so many problems with Viking. We had to take it off our floor as display items.â I said, âWell, frankly, I wont have these problems.â So, I got the product. But I couldnt have the contractors in because of COVID, so I had the products here for a while. So, they installed them, and now its about the eighth month. My microwave already went out. The refrigerator handles are not so nice. The guy who came and fixed the microwave also had to tighten up the handles. At the top of the refrigerator shelf, you can set it to different levels. At the very top, itâs freezing my food. I cant set it to go any lower than the level that itâs at. Viking needs to revamp.
I guess I am not the only one with this problem as I read the comments!! Has anyone found a solution? I have had a repair man out here 3x and it keeps happening. The coils freeze, the floor of the freezer has a 1/2 inch frozen solid water and water leaks out onto my hardwood floors. If this is obviously a problem why are they not fixing them??????? I had a Subzero in my other home for 20 years and this never happened!!! So during this beautiful Sunday Im inside scraping ice and cleaning up water. Someone has to be accountable.
We went through an open house and we saw one with Viking as one of the stuff they put in their kitchen. My parents really love Sub-Zero and we were wondering if weâd go with Sub-Zero or Viking, and we picked Viking out of price. I like how cold it is and I like the fact that food doesnât go spoiled as easily as with my traditional $2,000-range fridge. I bought a floor model and I called Viking âcause it had an installation issue. They sent a third-party company fast, which is good in terms of their customer service. However, the company who did the repair was not as good as I would like them to be because they couldnât do it right and they put on the report that it might be a different issue. They scheduled it for another three to four weeks âcause of the parts. Overall Viking is pretty solid, but from the design point-of-view, itâs a bit outdated compared to others. Sub-Zero is better but itâs a little bit pricier and itâs harder to find a floor model than Viking.
Viking had a good price for their refrigerator model as far as whats out the market. So far, the quality has been good and cleaning has been fine. I like how much it holds.
I wanted to get a very solid looking refrigerator, but it needed to fit in the existing space, which was a little tricky. I had a choice between Viking and one other. But I liked the way the Viking French door refrigerator looks, the layout, and the fact that it fit in the slot. The dealer has been excellent but they only delivered to the garage and they dont do the installation for liability reasons, at least from Mount Vernon location. So I had to hire someone to install the fridge. One issue that I find that in the refrigerator section is if Ive got lettuce or something near the back, the fridge will freeze it. So I just turned down the temperature in the refrigerator to see if that would do it and so far, its working fine. I like my Viking refrigerator - its very solid, looks well-made and has a nice warranty.
I purchased Viking range from a local appliance dealer and installed it a month ago. I pretty much knew what I wanted âcause I had used the website and based on our space, my husband and I figured out what we wanted. They also answered some questions we had. They have a beautiful stove ring and some of the pieces that we were thinking about were on display which helped to be able to open the doors and look in and see some of the new features. It was nice to have a showroom with actual appliances in it. The quality is good so far. One of my favorite is the indoor grill top. Ive used the oven and the cook top. The only thing I havent used is the grill. Overall, Im confident with the product and Vikings reputation.
We worked with a design studio on a kitchen project and Viking came recommended. We had purchased multiple products from them. We wanted to stay consistent with a line. And so, we bought an oven, a cooktop, a dishwasher, and a refrigerator. So far, the refrigerators quality is all right. However, the ice falls out sometimes behind the bottom shelf in the freezer. Other than that, I enjoy the style of it.
Vikings reputation stands out. Their price point was okay as well. We use the propane gas model. Their service has been good. We had a couple of bad items that came in with it, but they fixed it via third party. Ultimately they did everything they could. Viking sends out books that are probably inch-thick that tells us what to do. I think theyâd be better off if they do a follow-up call with their clients to go over it and walk through since you spend $20,000 on a range.
Six years ago we bought a $10,000 Viking professional range. While it may look beautiful, it has never worked properly. The large oven door will not shut tightly. We have had the appliance store where we purchased it come out numerous times and I am regularly told that I am being too rough with the door. Well, the door has never closed properly, and because it doesnât close properly the oven turns off whenever I set the oven to a temperature above 400 degrees. The appliance company insists that thereâs nothing wrong with the hinges, and Viking has done absolutely nothing to help. I am now ready to replace a stove that shouldâve lasted my lifetime. If youâre looking for a stove, choose anything but a Viking.
I was looking for a comparable model so I researched and saw that there were Jenn Air, Subzero, and Miele. I was looking for a certain look and dimension and I decided to go with Viking Refrigerators. I like the feature choice components. Plus, its quality seemed all right, but I was shocked that it didnât have a filter installed for the water. Aside from the refrigerator, I also bought four other pieces of kitchen equipment and had a good experience with the dealer. Viking Refrigerators is very supportive and I would recommend them.
We just moved our belongings over to Bangkok, including a brand new Viking range which can handle gas canisters. The oven safety switch keeps switching off the oven, just like other have problems with, and the stove top click, click, clicks constantly. I thought this was a quality product. Now I have to find a Viking dealer in Thailand. The professionals that handle commercial stoves came over to our home and they also cant figure it out. How can such a good looking product be so absolutely unreliable? More to come.
I had a Viking in the home I purchased and based on the existing refrigerator I had, they offered me a discount to stay with them. The older refrigerator was not very good at all. The models that were manufactured between 2001 and 2007 were total crap. And they knew there were problems. The owners had significant repairs and costs. I had issues with the thermostat, compressor, evaporator, and hardware falling off. The evaporator was 1,500 bucks to replace and Ive done that twice. When it came down for replacement, Viking offered us a 40% discount to stay with them and give their product another chance. So far, Im very pleased with the new refrigerator. Their representatives were very helpful and I like the people from Middleby. Ive had a very good experience with Viking.
Ive had a great experience with Viking. The quality of their products is very nice plus I really like their sales guy. He was very helpful and he really sold me on their products. The delivery also went well. I like the way we can add panels in the refrigerator. It looks like our cabinetry.
Ten years ago, we saw Viking ranges when we did some other kitchen. We had bought a Samsung Dual Fuel and it was a month-old when it broke, so we sent it back. They brought us another one and that one broke too, so we decided not to go to Samsung anymore. We went out to look for a stove and where we had just remodeled our bathroom, they had a kitchen display for all their kitchen wares and were moving showroom, so all their kitchen stuff were on sale. The Viking Range was 50% off. It was $6,000 but we got it for $3,000. We were looking for a stove, so why not? Ive only had it a couple of months, but I like it. However, Im not crazy about how I cant get it to simmer low enough, and the blue light that clicks off and on, so I dont really ever know when the ovens preheated. Theres no bell that dings and says that its ready, so Im constantly looking at that light to see if it has preheated, and I wish there was. Also, I miss my drawer in the bottom where I kept all my cookie sheets and stuff, and the Viking Range doesnt have it. We had to take our microwave out and get a downdraft, and that was a bummer. It wasnt really a Viking dealer who sold it to me. It was a Fergusons Plumbing lady who did. On the other hand, one thing I do like about it real well, is the way the telescopic tray pulls out in the center.
The quality of the Viking stove is not up to the price that I paid it for. The quality is extremely poor. Ive had numerous problems with it and working with the company for any issues that Ive had has been extremely difficult and poor. Theyre not very helpful and Ive given up working with them. Be very leery with Viking.
The Viking range was not what I was expecting. It had two problems with it in less than 30 days. In fact, when it was installed, it was not working properly. So, it was shipped out of the factory broken. There were three service visits already, and itâs still not fixed. They keep ordering the wrong part and their people donât seem to know what theyâre doing. They also gave me very limited time that they were willing to come. They told me they could only come on Tuesdays. So, I would have to pick a Tuesday to be there. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
I bought a Viking dishwater 11 months ago. During this time, I had to call their repair representative 5 times. I was very dissatisfied with this as I had paid more than twice an average dishwasher and expected better quality and not worse. I have been using dishwashers for more than 30 years and never had any problems before this one. Last week, the washer broke down again and the repair guy said that an olive pit had gone past the filter and into the drain, and he claimed that this was my fault and the warranty would not cover this situation! Now, I always wipe plates and try to get everything off but it is possible thata pit might be stuck to the bottom of a plate or glass and isnt the filter suppose to get that? I consider the design of the filter to be faulty and called Viking but they would not accept paying for the repair. I will never buy Viking again and will relay my experience to everyone I know and recommend them to stay away from Viking products which are highly priced, have poor reliability, and bad customer service.
A Viking refrigerator was already installed in our house when we bought it about five years ago. The refrigerator was built-in and custom-made for the area. And then, the freezer is separate from the actual refrigerator so its got two separate doors. Though very expensive, Viking is a good quality refrigerator. In the last couple of months however, all of a sudden, our refrigerators cooling was not being controlled by the digital display. Its not working even if we tried to actually increase the cooling. So, the technician came in and put in some gas as a refrigerant. And then, he told us to monitor it for another week and if everything will be fine, itâll remain fine. If not, thereâs apparently a small leak somewhere. And then he also told us what it would take to replace the refrigerator if needed or if the same refrigerator has to be replaced with the parts.
Our cabinet maker thought that Viking was a good product and I bought my Viking appliances though him. I went to a mobile Viking showroom event and looked at all the Viking appliances for a new home. And if I did my whole kitchen in Viking, they would double the warranty. Instead of having the three-year warranty, it came with a six-year warranty. It was a great deal especially considering that Ive had to have them come out repeatedly to fix things thatâs been wrong with the appliances. Apparently, the quality of Viking has gone down considerably in the last several years and I hadnt realized that. Ive got two refrigerators and the parts are just cheaply made. One of them was delivered totally damaged. The shelving does not stay in place. The drawers donât function properly and the components bend too easily. The refrigerators are less than two years old and half of the parts in each one of them are bent, have totally fallen out or had to be replaced several times already. Itâs very poor quality. When they installed the dishwasher, they didnât put the bottom plate on the dishwasher correctly. Some of the parts have fallen out of it as well. Theyâve also had to come out several times and fix the valves in the dishwasher. But the worst is the range, which has never functioned properly. Itâs terrible considering I now have $40,000 worth of useless appliances in my home. The person that I contacted to get warranty service was extremely helpful and walked me through the process of getting everything registered. The problem was that they did not want to honor the double warranty on my appliances. Luckily, I had saved the original invoice and was able to forward it to them so that they could put into my record that it was covered for six years. Ive told everybody that Ive come in contact with to stay away from Viking, which is sad because my husband is a home builder. We could sell tons of Viking appliances. But we buy all of the appliances for the homes that we build from Ferguson here in Raleigh and they have quit carrying the Viking appliances because they have so many problems with them. Plus I will never have another thing thatâs Viking in my home. Itâs terrible. Weâve had problems with everything Viking.
I wanted a Viking range for decades, so every time I looked at commercial-type ranges, it was usually either Viking or Wolf. But, Viking has always been the commercial style range that I wanted, but I put it off for years and years because I wanted the double oven size with six burners. Then I realized that to get the one I wanted, it would involve remodeling half of my kitchen to make space for it. So, I finally decided that, instead of putting it off because of that, Im just going to get the 30-inch one, so it would fit into the existing space. And so I did and Im happy. I bought ours at Colders, a furniture store, and I worked with someone who specializes in Viking ranges. It is an authorized dealer.Ive always had electric ranges my whole life. And one of the things that I havent liked in the past about gas ranges is the gas oven. Id prefer an electric oven and a gas stovetop. And now that they make dual-fuel ranges that are the perfect answer for me. Also, I just like the ruggedness of it. The hole that you put the pots on, theyre like army tanks. Theyre big, heavy, iron grates that are just so well-built. And the whole thing is heavy-duty that can last a lifetime. I like the simplicity of it, too. The electric range that I replaced was all digital. It had all kinds of extra digital features that I never used. This one has mechanical knobs, and everything works perfectly. However, the caveat is theyre expensive. So, you really have to be dedicated to cooking. If they were cheaper, I would have bought two. You really have to want that kind of a range before you are willing to spend that much money. Other than that, from the performance and quality of the Viking, it is 5-star all the way. It would be my top recommendation for a commercial range.
I spend nearly $12,000 in a complete new Viking set (Range, Fridge, Dishwasher and hood). In less than 2 years the technician has come to my house 3 times. The oven didnt self regulate and eventually the thermostat had to be replaced. The digital display on the dishwasher looks like it is in Japanese and the freezer drawer in the fridge needs to be adjusted every 2 weeks. It is a weekend home so you can imagine how much use it got since it was installed. I am being told that all labor is on me. Their customer support was courteous, but denied point black any responsibility. If you buy it, is just for the looks. The quality is certainly not there! And they should not announce themselves as a premium or high quality brand.
We bought the top-line Viking refrigerator as well as Viking oven and microwave through Best Buy, and Best Buy has been horrible. The communication around the third party that Best Buy uses for installation has all been really poor, and getting my appliances installed was the worst thing ever. First, the built-in $9,000-refrigerator was installed incorrectly. The installers failed to put a kickplate on the bottom of this refrigerator and they probably threw it away. So we had to have someone come out and that took a while. Weâre easygoing people and weâre not that tough to deal with. However, I bought that refrigerator in early June and to this day, I dont have the kickplate yet, so that has been frustrating.Best Buy has a customer service troubleshooter that was assigned to us. That person was really nice but has been lousy on follow-up so we called and left messages. When I finally got a hold of Best Buyâs case manager, he said that Best Buy was told that the manufacturer did not have the kickplate in stock. So I told them that I was gonna call Viking, which I should have done early on. When I called, I spoke with their customer service person who was great and a really nice lady too. I asked her about the kickplate that is missing and she said they had them in stock, which was what I anticipated the whole time. We havent heard anything back yet, but a company is supposed to call us. Still, Viking is a premium brand and they have been responsive to us and the experience with them has been great.
My wife wanted a Viking from years back. We liked the quality and professional look of the range. If the chefs use it, theres got to be something to it. We knew what we wanted and their team got it for us. Its an excellent machine. Its our first gas stove and weve only had it for two months but everything is working as expected and as advertised.
Ive had the range for less than a year and there were all these things wrong with it. We had to have the repair people out. I purchased it through Abt and they did not have a repair person out for six weeks. I was without a stove over Thanksgiving and up to about a week before Christmas. I was not happy. Abt said those stoves are solid. But theyre not reliable quality machines. Im very upset with the whole thing. Now we purchased a Viking convection, that we cooked a little bit. But its not the same. So Im not happy with it. I would appreciate a call from Viking. I should be given some kind of five-year warranty on this because I dont know whats going to happen. I dont trust the machine.
Ive known Viking for decades. They were offering a rebate on the refrigerator so I went with them. I also had a free refrigerator and the range hood with blower, which made my purchase more enticing. Without them, I might have bought the unit from Sub-Zero and Wolf. I bought it from the Better Housekeeping over in Red Bank and the people I have dealt with were great. But the unit has a poor design and if I had to do it again, I will not purchase this refrigerator. The spring on one of the doors has a sound and the ice tray was poorly made because on the first week I pulled it out and the handle snapped right off. The magnet of the butter tray on top isnt good and every time I pull the refrigerator, if I have a stick of butter inside, it falls out. Also, compared to a regular KitchenAid, which are the deeper refrigerators, Viking units are more counter depth, so in terms of storage there isnât a lot of cubic feet in there to use. With my particular model, there are four trays for produce and those trays are much smaller so I canât really put a lot of stuff in there.I also have the Professional Series for the oven, which is the one with the French door. Even though itâs a beautiful look, itâs really stupid that itâs said to be self-cleaning but because thereâs no latch for the French doors, itâs not the same kind of self-cleaning at the lower oven. Itâs just like a steam clean kind of effect and stuff like grease doesnt come off. I also already had a problem with our blower on the fan where it was making a lot of noise and Iâve already had a service call on it. So to spend what I totally paid, which is at $25,000 for my entire kitchen, I really shouldnât be expecting or experiencing problems like these within the first year. These are high-end products, and itâs a professional series, so itâs very disappointing.
The Viking refrigerator has good storage capacity. The illumination is good and I have an ice maker hooked up on. Its quiet. However, Ive had two power failures and the refrigerator defaulted. The question I was trying to get with engineers is if it defaults, does that mean that it quits cooling? But I never got an engineer to answer me any questions and a sales rep didnt even know.
Wanted a high quality stove top to replace an older GE. Decided on this 5 burner Viking (rvgc3365bss). Performs well but for the cost the SS quality could be better. Biggest problem is keeping it clean. You must clean the stainless every time it is used! If you dont you have a huge problem cleaning it the next day. The quality of the stainless steel finish is very disappointing for this price range.
Viking Refrigerators are crazy expensive rather than just going with a regular refrigerator. But my wife wanted one so we got one and it is fine. Our experience with the sales rep and the installation were great. We also have a Viking stove and the starters on the gas thing werenât working. But then a gentleman showed up, found the problem, came back with the parts, and fixed it.
I have known about Viking for a while and I know it is a good brand. Were happy with what we have so far. I like the refrigerator, its lighting and layout.
Ive had my Viking range for about four months now and it has been good quality.
I wanted a good quality commercial-grade range that I could count on. Iâve been familiar with Viking for quite some time. The dealer we had was very professional. I had been to another dealer that was less than desirable to the point that I was almost insulted that they never even acknowledged that my wife and I were there. I researched and found the Athens Refrigeration. When we walked in the store, it was completely different. They were very patient and informative. They spent all the time that we needed and they would have spent more had I needed it.We bought an electric French door Viking oven and a range with the gas. We converted to gas when we made the change. Weâre liking the gas more than the electric. We havenât had our range long but so far Iâm pleased with it. I also plan to visit the Viking store. Iâve been there before in Greenwood and the cooking school.
The unit I purchased had a dent in the front door and I got it for a discount at Lowes. It was a really good price. A year later, it has stopped cooling. Lowes told me when I bought it that even though it was cosmetically damaged, itd be under factory warranty. Viking sent a repairman out because they acknowledged the warranty. When they were at my house, they said, It was damaged in shipping and you have to call Lowes.â So I called the warranty company and they said âYou bought it on sale from Lowes. Therefore, itâs as is.â Then I said, âI wouldnt have bought the refrigerator for $6,000 if I thought it was not under warranty.â So they said, âYouâre beat.â And Loweâs said, âYouâre beat âcause you bought it at a discount.â So I had to buy a Sub-Zero. Neither company helped me. Needless to say, I donât have confidence in either Lowes or Viking. I wasted $6,000 in one year. I lost the $6,000 and then I paid $12,000 for the Sub-Zero. So, I paid $18,000 really for the fridge. I tried to fight it, and I tried to argue with them, and tried to ask everybody that I could for help. Viking doesnt stand behind their product and they wont help you through a crisis.
We were told that Viking is one of the best in the business when we were looking for a new range. It was great and so weve had it for three years. I like it and it cooks very well. However, the oven stopped working two months ago and they couldnt get it right for about a month. When they sent the part, it was the wrong one. The control board probably was defective from day one because one of the lights that used to go on for the cleaning cycle went on even when the cleaning cycle wasnt on. And the guy who repaired it told me that he did three stoves that had the same problem. And one of the lighting that he fixed the morning that he came to us had the same thing. But Viking was really nice and did very good customer service. They paid for the whole thing. I didnt have to pay for the parts or the labor even though it wasnt under warranty. Its working fine now.
Hi. We purchased Viking side by side refrigerator in 2006 and since then the door wont shut tight. We been calling Viking company in regards with this problem and the technician said it was just a loose screws but never get it right since day one. We are so disappointed with this product because we pay too much for it. So I would never be a repeat customer ever with Viking Appliances. They are expensive and they are just a bunch of sneaky people telling you that their products are good. No way that we are getting Vikings appliances.
On 1/6/2005, I purchased a Viking 36 inch free standing range model VDSC3656BSS dual fuel, 6 gas burners open face, and a single electric convection oven costing approximately $7,000. This oven had no frills, no electronic digital displays, just a good basic heavy duty range. This was a major investment in a kitchen appliance for our 7th new home. My husband was very resistant to making that type of investment, but I stated itâs a âVikingâ and very dependable. The 6 gas burners were great (and still function) and the electric oven (although was running cooler than other cheaper oven and had to increase the temperature settings by 25 degrees to achieve correct temperature) functioned. That was up until 3/8/13 when the electric oven failed; the heating elements will not get hot.The oven on light turns on, the interior light turns on and the electric convection fans work but no heat to both (top and bottom) oven elements. On 3/11/13, a repairman was out and identified the defective part, the oven control (not the thermostat or the elements). The power is getting to the control but not passing through. The part was ordered the same day. There have been several follow up calls with the parts distributor. As of 4/9/13, there is still no replacement part. Both the repairman (a certified Viking repairman who has worked on Viking ranges for over 10 years) and I have been searching the internet and warehouses for this part.I emailed Viking, no response to the emails. I called Viking customer support and related the repair issues specifically noting the lack of (availability of) a replacement part and asked if there is a problem with this range. Viking stated that there is no recall or safety notices for this range and provided a name and phone number of a parts distributor. I forwarded this information to my repairman; however to date, 4/9/13, no replacement part. From internet blogs, this particular model with an electric oven (no heat to elements) is a common repair problem resulting in down time anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. Imagine a restaurant with a Viking range that is out of use for 6 weeks to 6 months! I am an individual who loves to cook and bake; Viking is breaking my heart! Okay, so the range is out for a month, I shouldnt complain compared to others out 6 months. However, an extended outage of any duration is not acceptable for professional ranges. A cheap range can be fixed generally the same week it is serviced, arent expensive ranges deserving of something much faster than 1-6 months? So what do I do with a $7,000 paper weight? I find it extremely difficult to recommend a âVikingâ range. As of my posting today, the Consumer Affairs website has 266 complaints about Viking, numerous ones similar to mine. Is anyone considering a class action suit on this particular model for this particular repair problem? Maybe that would get some attention! In any event, the oven is down and out for the count. Next stop might be the scrap metal dealer! Viking what happened to you?
We purchased Viking D2 line (french door refrigerator, double wall oven, cooktop and dishwasher) for our new home and we moved in in February 2013. We have had nothing but problems with these products. We reported the microwave in 2014 to the authorized dealer that we purchased from. The front fascia was coming off every time we opened the door. After over a year of dealing with Viking representative, he came out and glued the door back on. He glued it incorrectly and now the buttons are protruding into the sockets and the front panel is still buckling on the front. Since we did not have good luck with getting the microwave serviced, I have tried dealing with Viking directly on the rest of the products. Waste of time. Got a form letter response. The refrigerator bins have all broken, the ice maker gets plugged up regularly and doesnt make ice, the computer on the front panel of the refrigerator doesnt work and, consequently, the refrigerator freezes all of our fresh vegetables. The cooktop randomly doesnt heat, the top oven does not retain its temperature when there is more than one item in it, the dishwasher does not dry the dishes and doesnt clean them very well either. You have to practically wash them going in and then dry each and every one coming out.The Viking representative in my area is NOT customer service friendly and is difficult to work with. I have written two letters to Viking, contacted the place we purchased the appliances from multiple times and have gotten no satisfactory response. Now all of our products are out of warranty and no one wants to address the issues. I guess they dont care that I will NEVER purchase Viking products again. EVER. And, I am making it my mission to tell everyone I know not to waste money buying products from this supposed high-end products company. I purchased Viking thinking that paying extra for an American made product was important and that they would stand behind their products. Lesson learned.
The third technician on the fourth trip out to visit my fridge was able to accurately diagnose the problem. The fourth technician on the fifth trip out was able to successfully repair the unit once the parts arrived after my goading to have them shipped overnight rather than the typical shipping method of bicycle messenger. I was refunded the over $500 I had paid for parts and labor, as at the end of the day it was a warranty covered issue. Since the problem did eventually get resolved to my satisfaction, I upped my star rating from a one to a three. I cant in good conscience go higher than that because it took five trips over almost two months to get to the resolution.
I went to a number of home shows when I was trying to build a house and talked to a Viking Refrigerators rep and a dealer. I went to about five more home shows and saw the same guys. I decided to make the purchase and so far theyre okay. However, it is not cold all the way. Sometimes the freezer ices up a bit. And then I had to make sure that ice is not stuck in the ice maker because ice wonât come out. The ref is great, but itâs having twerks. I reached out to Viking Refrigerators but they wanted me to register everything first and then call back. Also, the dealer was just all about the sale and after that, he kept having a follow-up and a follow-up. I wouldnât use that dealer again. Iâm still satisfied with my overall experience with Viking Refrigerators. Others would just have to make sure they get the right dealer and a Viking Refrigerators certified installer. Thatâs important.
Viking 36 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Do Not Buy!!! My refrigerator was installed 5 weeks ago and for the past 3 weeks the control panel will go blank and it stops cooling in freezer and refrigerator. Randomly starts cooling again then same thing happens. Called Viking who referred to their Orange county repair service which took a week to get out and be told it didnt have a dedicated fuse. Well we had our electrician come right out and yes the refrigerator does have a dedicated fuse drawing the proper amps. Called Viking service company and sent pictures of electricians readings and was told they would speak to Viking. Didnt hear back, another phone call and girl I sent pics to is gone until Monday... Viking is closed and I still have a non-working refrigerator. Horrible service, horrible product.
We have seen Viking in new houses and we liked the look and the reliability. Our range was delivered last year and we installed it a couple of months ago. Its heavy but we got it moved in all right and the installation was easy. We switched over from electric to gas and we really like the gas stove part of it because it feels industrial. Weve been real happy with it and the only issue weve had is a light bulb that burned out. We havent had anybody locally to come out and repair it yet. Weve been trying to contact the people at the place we bought it from or the local shops that work on Viking but we havent had heard back from them. They suggest we dont replace the bulb because its still under warranty, and so were waiting.
Im having so many issues with Viking. Iâm very mad about it and I have a huge regret right now. The repairman came last week to work on the large oven and the range because they quit working. In addition to that, it took them forever to get the parts in. And when I called them with an issue such as my $30,000 appliances not working, they would act as if youâre bothering them and the customer service is rude. Iâve also had a repairman at my house to work on my Viking refrigerator four times.
We bought a Viking refrigerator in 2005 and since then we had nothing but problems with it. It started with leaking water and damaging our floors and continued with changing 3 ice-makers in it which we still have problems with. The water dispenser freezes frequently and recently the door hinge is getting loose, not closing properly. We are afraid of injuries in case it comes off (as it has happened to other owners) and what makes it worse is the companys rude and nasty attitude when contacted. I would never buy another Viking appliance and hope there was something I could do to be remedied for all the hardship that me and my family have endured. If anyone has a lawsuit against them I will be glad to join.
We bought the Viking stove through Setzers and as a part of getting that, we also got a dishwasher. It was a deal they had going on. But the dishwasher has a gasket down the side which slid down and got bent. So we contacted Setzers and told them, and they contacted Viking. It was really strange though. They sent us a note saying that someone was gonna come out and I thought it was crazy. They were coming out to put a gasket on, which was something that I feel like we could do. But okay. They could do whatever they wanted to do. But when the guy came from Viking, his work order said that we had a gas leak and that was why they came. It was really strange. I told him we didnt have a gas leak and that we just needed the plastic gasket piece. He said he he was gonna order it but itâs been three weeks and we still havenât gotten it. So I probably need to check on it. That aside, he was super nice and really helpful. He even showed us a few things about the stove that we didnât realize it could do. And even with that, I would absolutely recommend Viking. It has always been my husbandâs dream stove. Heâs a builder and when he would build upscale houses, they always seemed to have Viking appliances. So when we were building our house, that was his thing. If it was possible, he really wanted the huge six-burner Viking stove. Viking is definitely a pricier stove but itâs worth the money. The quality is good, and the unit is beautiful and substantial. We love it, particularly the six burners on the cooktop. You can have plenty of things going at one time, and that makes it easy.
Iâm not happy at all with the microwave and refrigerator. The refrigerator has caused us problems such as freezing things. I had the maintenance guy come out five times and we had to get extra parts, but itâs still not fixed. This has been going on since August when we moved in and itâs now the end of January. So weâve been dealing with this for six months off and on. We would like a brand-new fridge but I donât know if Viking is going to do it. There still the one-year warranty. The only thing I was really happy with is the stove. The oven has been okay but it doesnât heat up very quickly.
I purchased an entire kitchen of Viking appliances minus the fridge. The appliances were installed approximately 3 months ago, but have never been used because we are just moving back into the house. So far, we have had a repairman out for the stove, the microwave and most recently was told that the wine cooler has to have the control panel replaced. Are you kidding me? I havenât had the first glass of chilled wine. I called corporate and was told that sometimes it happens. Not much concern was shown. They made sure that I knew that the cooler has a 2-year warranty. There are 3 reasons that I bought Viking products: first, they are beautiful; second, they are made in America; and third, I thought they were a good company with a very good product. I was wrong on everything except the beautiful part. Who protects us from these predators?
I liked the Viking refrigerator. I heard about it from a friend and the design is nice. But the quality when I first got it was awful. It had a leak in the freezer and they fixed it, but they replaced it and we ended up getting a new one. So far, its been great.
We owned a Viking beforehand. However, when we went into their store, we were not going to consider them. But we changed our mind and continued to use the brand because we were convinced by the sales rep that they had done some serious improvements in the product and that we should always consider them. Also, we were impressed by what we saw. The Viking team was excellent as well. They had the patience to work through all my wifeâs questions and issues since she was the one that needed to be comfortable that we were making the right decision and that Viking had all the right stuff that she wanted. However, the drawers were supposed to be self-closing, but they donât close. The repair guy was here for that and for the oven.
The Viking registration site would not accept my information so it was somewhat of a hassle to get both of my products registered. I had to go through one of their customer service supervisors. It was a little laborious. I had to produce copies of the tags on my product. I had to produce a sales receipt and a lot more information than I would have had I been able to just use the website. The operatorâs manual for the appliances is also not specific enough. The instructions are vague in regard to operating the range and turning it on. But Im generally pleased with the range. It cooks so much faster than a gas or an electric range. I also like the size of it and the interior of the oven.
Viking has high-end products and has been around for so long. I have friends and colleagues who had used their products. When we renovated the entire house, we bought the whole set of Viking composed of the refrigeration, dishwasher and a range. I got a warranty for three years. However, there were some issues with my oven. Somehow, something stopped working. I called them and in two years, we were not offered the warranty for the service. We had to find our own way and I thought of every procedure possible to get the oven started again. But even today, it still hasnât been repaired because I donât have a warranty. And although the other Viking products are working fine, Im dissatisfied with Viking as I did not get what I needed at this point.
The dealer, Mario, did an awesome job of telling us all the benefits. We ended up going with Viking because he said that they stood behind their product and he had never heard complaints from anyone. That was the bottom line where we ended up buying 30 some thousand dollars of equipment there from Best Buy. I bought an entire kitchen of Viking. We have a microwave, a wine cooler, the gas range and the hood. So, all we need is a ship now to be a complete Viking. The Viking refrigerator is good although some of the soft close drawers on the bottom of the refrigerator dont exactly soft close but Im not gonna go crazy over that as much as that thing cost us. I also had some issues with the icemaker but we got that resolved and it was more of a connection issue. We had some issues with our dishwasher and we had to have it replaced. Also, Iâm disappointed that the French oven doors didnt seal correctly. But other than that, they look fine. Were working through the service folks that Viking recommended to us and right now, Im still waiting for those. But so far, Im very happy.
I moved into a new house and Viking was part of the appliance package. There was a Viking range and hood but there was no refrigerator, so I got a Viking refrigerator for continuity of the kitchen. The quality of the refrigeration is great and I donât have any complaints about it. Its lighting is really great. If I nudge the doors though, they dent easily but Iâm happy with Vikingâs quality.
The Viking Range is really good and I like their burner power feature. However, we ended up getting one that we didnt even buy which is the appliance dealers fault. We bought the six-burner series with the griddle in the middle but ended up with an eight-burner that they installed. We were not here during the install, which is fine. Iâm not upset about that. But trying to get the griddle and our money back has been a chore and we have been at it for two months and cant understand why it hasnt been done. The guy who owns the place is extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot when we went to see him and he did a wonderful job on the install but the follow-up items after the fact have just been a nightmare for us. But as far as the range goes, my wife absolutely loves it.
Before the start of our home construction, we asked our developer what appliances theyre going to have. They mentioned they were going to do a Viking Range. I did a bit of research and I thought the Viking would be sufficient. However, we were concerned with the first problem that we had. We had the range on August 28 and we noticed around Thanksgiving that the pilot light struggles into lighting when the oven would go out. It would make a lot of clicking sounds, and surely thereafter, it went out. Unfortunately, we didnât fill out the warranty certificate at that time. We just moved into our new home. So immediately, we filled out the warranty and called Viking and their customer service team was extremely helpful. Their rep immediately put in the claim to the local service vendor. But the local service vendor was really, really slow. One, their availability to even come out here and look at the range, and then from that moment they identified the problem, they said they needed a new part and we didnât hear anything from them for a week. We called back to ask the status of the new part, and they said that itâs still in order. At that point, I called Viking and asked if they can help and they expedited the process on their end. It took about a month and a half to get our range from the time it went out to the time that it was operational again. I did not fault Viking because they were very responsive. It was the local service providers which resulted in the delays. Overall, Viking is a good quality and very durable appliance.
Ive known Viking Refrigerators for so long. I like the look and the style of the refrigerators. They also have a better quality than the rest of their competitors. The refrigerator that I have bought is average and Ive spent $9,000 on it. However, Iâve already had a service call out here because the thing wasnât working properly. Based on the fact that they had charged much more, their product and service should have been stellar. Even so, somebody quickly got out here and that guy was great. I also Iike the construction of the solid door. And also, I like the fact that the inside thing is made of metal. Purchasing from Viking was a good experience up until the point where they were to deliver the item, but then it all went to crap. When they delivered the item, they gave me a delivery date, but they didnât meet that. And then they gave me another delivery date and didnât meet that as well. So it was just a big fiasco. It took three days to finally have the item installed. Since that was a Monday, they didnât even have it installed and so I installed it myself. Also initially, Viking was responsive. I had bought three different products. I bought a Viking Refrigerator, the beverage center, and the ice machine. And two of them were delivered on one day. The beverage center was deemed late by Viking. They said they didnât have it yet. So, once again, the second time they came in, theyâre supposed to deliver it but they didnât show up. They called me and told me that it wasnât gonna be delivered for another couple days. And then again, it was supposed to be delivered between 12:00 and 5:00, and they showed up at 9:00 at night. The second time they delivered, the service level just sucked. These dealers are representing Viking. I know its difficult because theyâre not just selling Viking, theyâre also selling other products. But at the end of the day, it puts a bad taste on my mouth that Viking works with these people. If Viking wants to say that they are a service-oriented company and believes in their customers, then they ought to pay attention to whoâs actually selling this product and whoâs delivering the product in the homes because it only takes one experience to turn somebody off. So I donât know if Iâd ever buy another Viking again. I would also tell others that if they ever want to go buy the product, that would be fine but I would also tell them to make sure they do their research.
