Have full Viking kitchen - dual-fuel range, fridge/freezer, dishwasher. Difficulty in obtaining parts in Ireland, and would never, ever recommend Viking - anything - to anyone. All have had problems, but none more so, from day one, the range. Markers on dials rubbed off after months. Oven door has never fit flush and hinges squeaked/squealed whenever opened or closed. Often, could not open door parallel to floor. Finally replaced both door hinges - at astronomical customs charges for delivery from USA - only to find that self-clean function now not working. Self-clean circuit board described, variously, as no longer available to obsolete, do not have to maybe were getting new manufacturer but dont know how or when to sorry, no substitute recommended.Have begun shopping new/used parts, incl eBay, world-wide, spending hours of time without success. Have fabulously expensive oven that is filthy. In addition, weve had to replace 3 ignitors, our repairman discovered that instructions for wiring were actually reversed from positions described in manual (EU compromises?) and any part that costs US$100 direct from USA seemingly soars to more than 4 times that price once it reaches Ireland and our local recommended Viking supplier. Never, ever again. I so wish Id found this site earlier.
I had some problems with the Viking refrigerator. It had a leak. The man that came out and fixed it said that it was made by a different manufacturer. I have some problems with them in that the handles become loose all the time on the whole entire set of appliances. Ive had to have somebody tighten them up three times. They got a problem with the quality of the handle. I also thought the price was a little high.
Between a Viking and a Wolf, we like the idea of having the microwave above. The Viking range comes with a microwave and so we went through a dealer and got one. The only thing that I dont like is that the stovetop is very hard to keep clean. Its got a shininess, and so it always seems like its very hard to clean. Other than that, the quality is great. I like how quickly it heats everything up. The water boils quicker and the oven bakes a lot nicer and more even.
We wanted to have a name brand appliance for our home and the cost point for Viking Range was slightly better. It has a noisy fan that runs after you run the stove and you turn it off and youâre having dinner and this thing just keeps running and running. Thereâs no adjustment to it and thereâs no way to bypass it. Itâs a deficient feature and that is a cause of some significant dissatisfaction. Other than that, I like it. It has good quality and Im pretty happy with it. Weâre 9,000 feet and the gas nozzles were the wrong size for this altitude. The local guy from East River Appliance Repair was completely clueless and had really no value. I was ready to return the thing and I was really unhappy with it. But Viking was willing to bring a guy four hours from Denver up to Crested Butte, Colorado and fix a problem that the local guy was clueless about. The guy up from Denver was a real pro. He knew what he was doing and fixed everything. He said that the door was not primarily damaged and it could be adjusted. He saved the day for Viking. I thought the range was a defective unit and this guy was able to correct everything and showed that it wasnt defective. Iâm pretty happy with the customer service I got.
Weve owned Viking products for years in different houses. Over the years, their products have improved. Weve just spent about $40,000 in Viking products, in building a new home. The refrigerator we got from them appears to be fine. They built a nice product. I dont have high expectations with a refrigerator. It either keeps stuff cold or frozen. We have a separate Viking ice maker thats not part of the freezer or refrigerator, and its a nicely constructed piece of equipment. My only issue was with their dishwasher that immediately leaked. Moreover, I was in a new home without a dishwasher for two months because they couldnt deliver parts. We just got the dishwasher back a couple of days ago. The Viking dealer was good, except with their service with the dishwasher. We live in a small town in Arizona and they are the only game in town. But theres no excuse for our spending thousands of dollars on a piece of equipment that comes defective from the factory and then it takes two months to get a replacement part. Its just not acceptable We havent had any issues so far with any of the other equipment, which is good. Our Viking products sometimes had service-related issues, so theyre not as durable as some of their competitors stuff, but they certainly are attractive in their features. Ive had both good and bad experiences with Viking products, so Iâm holding my breath that we donât have any other issues. Viking has been challenged publicly on the quality of their product. So, Im hoping that they have improved their manufacturing process and their items are more durable than they were in the past.
The builders put Viking in the brand-new house which Ive only had for over two and a half years now. And Ive had trouble with both my refrigerator and my stove. Although, I had Vikings before and the refrigeration was okay parts of it get really, really cold and even the bottom drawer actually freezes things. I was disappointed within a few months after we got it. The dairy product holders were both cracked and when you open the door, all the butter falls out. It took me a very long time to get it fixed because the dealerâs contractor was not responsive. I was informed that the warranty on that was only three months, which I thought was crazy on Viking since a Viking product is so expensive. It took me over a year to get that done and even spent the year leaving messages back and forth and got me assisted for it to be taken care of. I ended up just finding the manufacturer and ordering the part myself. I paid for $370 a piece which I thought wasnt right. I didnât speak with a Viking customer service but I dealt with Ferguson which was the distributor that sold the Viking to the contractor. The experience was not okay. I had to get really mad and involve the contractor to get it done. The rep felt really bad once I called the contractor in and promised that would never happen again. So, I havent signed with Vikings again. Iâve heard another person in this neighborhood who has Vikings and had the same problem with her dairy product holder.
Viking had a sale going on. The refrigerator I was looking at was discounted and with the rebate I was getting, that put it in a price range that was comparable to Sub-Zero. Plus, the store was saying that they have had good success with the refrigerator and that people liked it. I decided to take a chance on their technology. So far, food doesnt go bad in it and I love it. The refrigerator has technology that pulls out the gas that makes food go bad. Before, I would wind up throwing so much food out because it goes bad by the time I get around to cooking. Now, I make less stops at the grocery store. Additionally, water that that comes from my Viking tastes really good. Its much better than the GE Monogram that I used to have. However, the ice maker has a little wire bar that comes down when the ice tray fills up. Its supposed to set off but then it goes a little overboard such that I find ice outside the ice tray. Still, this was the only thing that was wrong. This is the second Viking that I have had and I have been very pleased with the service. With the first one I had, there was moisture building up on the inside. Everything was getting wet inside that refrigerator and almost every day I had to wipe it down. I complained and Viking sent servicemen out a couple of times. They couldnt figure out why the door wasnt sealing properly. They told me that they couldnt figure out the issue and that they would just get me a new refrigerator. I didnt have to pressure them so much and they gave me a new unit that works. So far, it works fine and its beautiful. I like the way its saving me money through not wasting food. Ive already recommended Viking to other people. I let people who have stayed at my place see it and I tell them about the refrigerators technology. They have been saying its a beautiful refrigerator.
When I bought the house, a Viking range was already here. I had to have a repair done on it and they quickly put me in touch with the service repair person in my area. They seem very professional. The repair person then came out and replaced the door because itâs not shutting correctly. He then told me to use the self-clean feature because that would warp the door and burn off the electricals. The quality of this range is good overall, and the big gas burner in the middle is my favorite.
I purchased close to $30,000 of Viking appliances. I bought two under cabinet refrigerators, wine coolers, a cooktop, a built-in microwave, and built-in oven, but never had a problem with them. The main problem was the refrigerator as it constantly broke down. We were very dissatisfied with it. We had to contact their technician three times to come out and fix the problem. But their repair guys were always good. They came with the knowledge of what the problem is and they fixed it. We also had a very bad experience with their dealer Pacific Sales at Best Buy in San Jose. They kept blowing me off even if I purchased extended warranty. They told me I have to contact Viking directly. Why did they sell me the extended warranty if they will not cover the problem?
Ive known about Viking forever and I chose them because of the aesthetics of their pieces, their higher quality and that they would last longer. I like the height of the refrigerator I got and the size of the shelf because its easy to reach everything. However, I had a frustrating incident with their product which I never had with my old crap refrigerator. It appeared that somehow ice had formed in the circulation system between the freezer and the refrigerator, which caused the refrigerator to not be able to cool down. It took many weeks and two different people to come out to try to fix it. There was no sense of urgency. Viking was recommending the first repair company that didnt work on weekends, which was unheard of. Viking also didnt have enough time slots open to serve everyone. The fridge was fixed but there was a runaround in terms of payment and the Viking people didnt seem to know what they were doing. Viking needs to up its customer service game. They cant charge what they do for a refrigerator and not have 24/7 phone support and people who know what theyre doing on the other end. In this day and age, they cant meet the expectations. Thats not acceptable for this kind refrigerator at this cost. I could have gotten a better service with Sears or GE. I wont be buying a Viking again and I would go with somebody else just on the customer service experience Ive had with them. Overall, the refrigerator is a beautiful product but there is no support for it.
We bought the freezer and refrigerator from Viking 12 years ago. The freezer is still doing great but the refrigerator went out. It would freeze up, and one of the default wires were loose. We hooked it up and then it had another problem. When I called in with problems, they were good about helping to get somebody to look at it. I had two different Viking certified people come out to work on it and they took it quickly apart, defrost it totally and then put it back together and say my drip pan wasnt lined up properly. Both times someone came it cost me $800 each and the second time I decided to just replace it because itll be cheaper in the long run. When I got the new one, the door seal on it would not seal. We travel a lot and we come back home and see that there would be rust inside our brand-new refrigerator. It took three times to get somebody to figure out the problem and fix it and had it slamming shut. Were loving it now. Itâs great. The new lighting is so bright and pretty and I really like it. The fridge isnt pretty when you open it up and you see this $9,000 refrigerator with rust inside it, but its still a good deal.
I like my Viking refrigerator. It is a little less steep than my old one but I needed it for my kitchen and its good quality. I liked that it was the same brand as the Viking Range that I was buying. That was what I wanted with the refrigerator and it was countertop too. And the air filter that is in there is pretty cool. I worked with a guy from Viking quite often for my business and he was great. He was like a friend and my experience had been good.
I bought Viking appliances because of their reputation but I can attest that it is not warranted. The oven does not bake evenly, makes constant clicking noises when heating, and sometimes just refuses to heat to the appropriate temperature. Very frustrated with this really expensive appliance.
Some of my relatives have Viking. So, Ive always said that when I bought my house, I was going to buy Viking because Ive heard good things about it. I love the way that it looks and the quality. And now, I have four different Viking appliances. I love the high-techness of my refrigerator. I like the durability of the range, itâs a 5 burner with two on the sides and then the long one in the middle. I like the quietness of my dishwasher. And my microwave, it works so well. The Viking dealer was also great. We found them online and we priced around. They gave us the best deal and free shipping. So, they were awesome.
If you buy a Viking fridge you most likely have been duped into buying a fridge built by someone else with the Viking name on it. Certainly hate my Viking Pro 48. Many of the parts are not unique to Viking and the overall quality is poor. The ice makers seizes up and burns out. Viking did not install a heat trace to keep the water line from freezing. Every time the power goes out, the ice maker seizes up. Bad news. One new ice maker per year. I would not buy it if it was the cheapest fridge on earth -- let alone spending $10 grand on it.
The refrigerator was broken so we called the warranty company. It didnt resolve until one month later so we didnt have a refrigerator for a whole month. I guess everybody was busy. We just wish that Viking will have warranty people who come a little earlier to get the problem resolved. But they changed some part, including some sensor somewhere. It was defective, initially. It has been working since the repair was done and we havent seen any similar issue coming up.
My wife and I purchased a Viking 36, four Burners, approximately 18 years ago. The range worked fine for most of the years. Recently the oven door started giving us problems, door would come off its clips, as it turns out the clips on the sides of the inner oven door are no longer manufactured. The oven door for this model is no longer manufactured. In short, we have a range that does not have a door. When you pay $5000.00 for a product, this should not be a large companys response. BUY A NEW RANGE. It will clearly not be a Viking.
The logistics company delivered my Viking refrigerator to my house and dropped it off in my living room. They pushed it into the wall because its one of those built-in wall units. They didnt connect it or they connected it but it wasnt right. There was this bottom metal piece that was supposed to be installed. I asked the guys if they were supposed to do that. They said they were not allowed to install those for liability purposes. I would have to get somebody to do it. It cost me almost $500 to have a Viking specialist come out and install it.When the specialists came out, they said, âYour refrigeratorâs not even drilled to the wall. Because if its not, what can happen is if you open the door, the whole thing could tip over and could crush you.â The guy said they were gonna secure it, which they did. That was a pain, to begin with. The refrigerator side works fine. But we noticed that the icemaker was really slow from day one. We went back and forth with the Viking warranty people and Build.com where I purchased the refrigerator from. They sent somebody out to fix it four times. After the last time, it still wasnt working right. It never would produce over 20 ice cubes. Every time they would come out, they would tell me to give it 24 to 48 hours and I would have a big bin full of ice cubes. That never happened. We had family over and birthday parties. I had to go to 7-Eleven and grab a bag of ice and stick it in my freezer. After paying $15,000, that doesnt make me happy.Build.com replaced the ice maker and its still not working right. They apologized and they went ahead and ordered me a new refrigerator. But that refrigerator is not going to arrive until April 2022 so Im stuck with this thing. Itâs beautiful but it doesnât make ice and the motor is really loud. I could have bought a car for that price I paid for the refrigerator so I want it to work 100%. Viking has been around for many years and they have beautiful products. After I placed the order with them versus Wolf, I happened to go online and I did some research and there are actually lots of really bad reviews. Viking is the least recommended. I have many regrets. I hate my refrigerator. We had issues with our other Viking products too like our stove and dishwasher.
The house that we bought had the appliances in it and it included a Viking range. Iâve known about Viking Ranges for a long time but this is the first time Iâve owned any of their products. So far, the quality is great and I really like the look of it. But Iâve never owned a gas oven before, so Im still learning about it. Itâs also a little noisier than a typical electric oven, but Im getting used to it. I also get that this is a professional range series so youâre not gonna have a timer like in an electric oven, but that is kind of nice to have.
We bought a house that had a Viking refrigerator. I like that it keeps food cool. However, a piece just broke on it that we had to get fixed.
The home that I bought came with a Viking range. It cooks evenly and its quality is really good. Its a great product and it makes cooking enjoyable for me. Their customer service is also top-notch. I had a small issue and they took care of it quickly.
Vikings range is a great product for the price. Its quality is beautiful. I also like the look of it. Its six burners have been my favorite since I get a true heat and I do a lot of cooking.
I like Viking ranges style and quality. My favorite is its cooking surface I ordered it online through Appliance Connection and the site was easy to use. I would recommend Viking.
We couldnt get our Viking delivered for a long time. I ordered it late March and they said it would be delivered by June. It didnt get delivered til July 28. The carrier didnt send it and it sat in a warehouse for over a month. Also, Viking is replacing my refrigerator because the ice maker stopped working. They have sent five people to fix it but they cant. Also, it doesnt hold very much. Its a counter-depth so Im not used to that. Also, its really tall so it has a lot of shelves. Its hard to reach the top shelf because its 80-some inches tall. But I like the look and style of it and the cleanup is pretty good. It seems to deter the fingerprints.
We purchased a 30 Viking range. It is all gas. We have experienced extremely hot wall tile directly above grate that lines the back edge of range when gas oven is on. Water droplets run down the tile for first few minutes of preheating. I am worried to use the oven since tiles at back get very hot. I rarely use oven and we spent so much money to purchase Viking. Also there was a recall on a oven part and we had Viking service is already 3 times. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Id love to jump on this band wagon right about now. Im most specifically upset about the oven ignitors needing replacement, as they say, every 3-5 years. I can read about it anywhere now, but I wasnt told anything about ignitors needing replacement when I bought it. Our repair bill was about $500 to change out the bad parts. I feel lucky, I think ours have been done only twice and then now, so 3 times in 10 years. Our oven hasnt been in working order for about 4 months while in my very limited spare time, I tried to figure out what ignitors will work, and be as good as the genuine Viking ignitors. My husband will soon be attempting to make the repair when the cheaper, similar Maytag ignitors arrive. He is so mad about the ignitor situation that he wouldnt allow us to call for the oh so expensive repairman to fix them. As he was assessing the ignitors/why the oven wasnt heating again, he took out the bottom pan of the oven and it fell apart into 2 pieces, with some partially melted insulation in between the two pieces of metal. Viking insists we need to buy a new bottom pan rather than my husband simply repairing that. It is $281. I will now be frantically try to find some of that insulation so my husband can spot weld the pan back together. Its weird stuff. I might try a fireplace shop. Thanksgiving dinner may be pretty sad this year. I would think for a $5,000 appliance that the manufacturer could help out their consumers.Yes, we could afford the expensive repair if we had to, but we spent that ridiculous amount of money on the Viking, that its a matter of principle. It should work for that amount of money. When we did our do-it-yourself major kitchen remodel in 2003 the Viking was the gem to us. Stainless steel with Brass accents. Most all of the finish on the brass accents has deteriorated from, well I dont know, heat or cleaning supplies, I guess. That part may be a poor choice on my part. I know the salesman did mention that, but it really was pretty at first. We still have the 1950s Magic Chef stove that came with our home in the basemen. I guess Ill have the hubby fire that up, if all else fails. During this 4 months of being without a working oven, I have been using a variety of other small appliances. I will keep doing that even after the Viking is repaired to save the wear and tear on it. I have been using a counter top Jet Stream Oven, a Pizzazz rotating pizza oven, and some outdoor grilling. Id like to maybe be able to use the Viking oven to bake some Christmas cookies and roast a chicken now and then. Thanks for letting me vent, I feel better, not really.
Me and my wife decided to get a Viking Range because of the build quality and simplicity. We like it better based on appearance and what our relatives told us of their experiences. However I had a bad experience with the dealer. They told me at that time I purchased that if Im not ready to put a delivery, I can have this range later. Several months later when I was ready, my dealer all of a sudden told me that they cannot deliver Viking anymore. There was some sort of disagreement and they couldnt sell Viking anymore because Viking specifically prohibited this dealer from selling their brand. I actually lost money because Viking raised the price by that time and the dealer referred me to a different dealer and promised that they will give the same price. But the new dealer couldnt provide the same price. The second dealer sold me a Viking and gave me a free warranty. Im not sure if I needed it but at least something as a compensation for a little loss. They delivered a new range. A few days after the delivery when I installed the range, I noticed when turning the handles it caused some sort of noise or feeling that something fishy is going on. So I called and they sent a repairman. The repairman took the handle off, adjusted something around it and after that it became better. The repairman also noticed that one of the screws was not original and it was quite surprising. Either Viking quality control is not correct or someone else changed the screw. I dont know how it would happen. But I rate it as minor inconveniences.
I like the look of Viking products and Ive had Viking appliances in the past. I recently purchased a refrigerator from them and the dealer where I got it from provided me with excellent service. Itâs only been installed for six weeks and so far, so good.
I had a Viking range 25 years ago, which is still working, and I moved it up to our lake house. We kept it in good shape. So, I bought a new one for my house and it works awesome. I was looking to switch just for some change and see if I like something more, but I love Viking. I bought the one that is all inclusive where there is not different pieces now in which they didnât have before, and I love that. I also love the pull-out racks now that glide really nice, as well as the bigger window. I like the one burner that is really more powerful in my right corner and just so with the overall. I like the weight of the dials. I love everything about it and I am very happy with it. I got the dishwasher too and I love that, too. Also, the Viking dealer I had was awesome. I highly recommend it.
I had an electric range before and Viking is better. Itâs a very nice range. Also, they have good customer service. As soon as I called, they gave me an answer for my little problem. The installation was wrong and they said they would send someone to fix it. Then, I called back to say that it was already fixed.
I have some friends who have Viking at their home and Ive heard a lot of good reviews about the brand. I liked its name, quality and the look of it. Itâs also pretty durable from what I was told. Things went perfectly fine with the dealer. I bought an eight-burner range and I like the grill part of it where I could cook steak on the side.
Viking went well with the house I was remodeling. We replaced a pretty old refrigerator, and I like Viking better. I also like the temperature control feature. But the dealer and the delivery company were jerks. They were just opportunistic and cutthroat. Their business practices were if you donât say something, its your fault for not asking and you got it. Basically, the kind of person Id never recommend to deal with again. I told the delivery company, âTypically, bring a small van cause you cant get up of my drive way.â The idea was to get the van, instead of a 40-foot or 24-foot semi tractor trailer. And they said it was my fault. They refused to redeliver it, so I called the people who sold it to me and said, âHey, this is crazy. I told you ahead to have a small van, and the delivery company that you paid to do it is refusing. They said not only theyre not gonna help me, but if I didnât pick it up in the next two days, they were gonna start charging me for storage.â They pointed the contract clause and said that it has to be deliverable by a full size truck. It didnât matter if I said something on the phone to them. The contract clause specifically go down the detail, black and white and I was at fault. Therefore, they were not gonna help me. So its pretty bad. But we managed to get it home because my nephew had a pickup truck, so we picked it up. I bought every single Viking thing in my house online from different places, but this is the first time Ive had that problem. Ive never had any problem with the equipment itself. Viking itself is fine, but everybody else did a bad job.
Things have been going well with Viking. We bought the apartment a year ago, so weve had the Viking oven for a year, but it was purchased in 2010. Its quality has been great and we like that it has been really consistent with the heat and the controls from the top. We had some issues with the dishwasher and it couldnât be replaced or fixed. But we just had the recall on the oven and the service of the team that came out was good.
I love Viking Ranges and I got such a good price on it. I have a standard six burner, 36 inch from Viking. It doesnât have all the bells and whistles, but they work better. The heating part of them, the flames, everything about it is more consistent. The heat is much more efficient than some of these cheaper ranges. Viking is just better to cook on.
We were trying to do a fixer-upper and we needed to renovate. Then, our realtor recommended Viking to us and we consulted with them. We went to a showroom in Reno, New Jersey and we also saw some from P.C. Richards. We did some research online to know what models we like then, we went to the showroom and ordered Viking. Their reps were all good as they know their products. We talked about what we wanted and they gave us a number of options and recommended all the different products. They gave us the pros and cons of each and the price point too. It was informative. However, we had a couple of issues. We ordered a professional range with a Viking label on it. So, we called the person and complained about it. Then, they sent out someone to fix it and it was fixed yesterday. Also, the LED light was not working on one of the double French ovens for some reason but the oven was working. The guy who did he fix said he would submit another ticket for us to order the part then they will come to fix it. Other than that, the quality of my Viking is good. I am happy with it and compared with Sub-Zero, which is one of the main competition, Viking has a good price. It is also well embossed.
Our Viking range came with my new kitchen. It is a beautiful piece of architecture, and I love its high quality. I like the dual nature of it. Its an electric range gas top. I love how it looks and feels. We had a service call on it, though. Periodically and almost in a random way, the settings for the oven were not matching what it was doing. So weâd put it on bake at 425 and it would bake at 200 or something. And every once in while, it would switch into the cleaning mode and lock itself up and get really hot even though it was set on bake or whatever. It was totally weird. It locked us out once, and it didnât cook while we had food in it.
Iâve had previous experience with Viking and I know its quality so I chose it over others. I like that the Viking refrigerator has more space but I had to return the original one that I purchased and get the same model. Its got an error code and it stopped cooling. It was still within the 14-day window that they gave me so I chose to replace it rather than repair. I had a great purchasing experience with the team at Pacific Sales. However, when the delivery was supposed to take place with the first refrigerator, there was a reschedule. And I was not notified promptly. So, I had to make arrangements and then cancel them. With the second delivery, with the replacement unit, the same thing happened. I know they subcontract the delivery and it wasnât a very positive experience. I was just trying to work something out with the salesperson because this was a big hassle - from the delivery, to the unit breaking down, to all that. So, he tried to do the best, gave us a gift certificate for $50, but we were not very encouraged. One mistake is fine, but twice and then a bad refrigerator. But there are always bad apples. So, Im not judging the whole line because of one unit. Itâs got a simple design and I still find it reliable.
We wanted a commercial stove for our upscale dream home. So we settled on a VIKING 6 burner/griddle stove with a double oven. The quality of the oven is poor at best. The doors dont line up and close properly and the oven has had to have all the igniters replaced within the first couple of years. The small oven makes a god awful noise when it ignites. Now the igniter module on the stove seems to have gone. Itâs nearly impossible to use the simmer on all the stove top burners as they just dont stay lit. Dont waste your hard earned money on Viking!!!
We had another brand of range initially but it wasnât performing so we switched to Viking. Weve had the Viking range in our home for two months and weve been enjoying it very much. My wife really likes the way the oven works. We feel very good about the overall quality of the product as well as its cost. But one thing that my wife is missing that was in the other stove is the temperature indicator in the oven. When a certain temperature comes up, the preheat light goes off, but she is used to seeing what the internal temperature is. All in all, though, Iâd absolutely recommend the Viking range.
Please dont waste money on any Viking products! I have had two dishwashers in the past 10 years that fall apart and no longer work. I also have Viking fridge. The drawers broke, builds ice in the bottom of the freezer every few weeks that you have to hammer away to get the door to shut, and have replaced the ice maker twice which no longer works again! I buy bagged ice to fill my ice maker. Viking products stink.
I spoke to Build.com and then they said that Viking is good and people are very happy with it. They didnt offer the other brand that I was looking for. But some people were saying after your guarantee expired, youre not gonna be able to use Viking and that they dont come out and fix the refrigerator. But I like the refrigerator. I wanted it to be a little bigger, but its still fine. I like it because if I leave the refrigerator open, it makes a noise if the door was not closed properly. I tried to register my equipment online because they were saying theres a rebate. I completed the rebate and sent it a couple of months ago but I have not received any rebate yet. Even so, the interaction with the customer service was good. I would recommend Viking Refrigerators to others. As matter of fact, Im in the process of building another home and Ill definitely buy a Viking again.
Viking 5 Burner Range- DOA. Delivered Good Friday and attempted to do the burn in Saturday evening. After many attempts to get the over to heat, we had to give up and use our toaster oven for Easter dinner. Viking has NO weekend support. On Monday I called and they determined it was DOA. We also had a new Sub Zero installed that same Friday. I decided to call them to see if they had support. They did. We returned the Viking and purchased a much nicer and substantially more expensive Wolf. I will never consider Viking.
One of the selling points of the home we just bought was that it had Viking appliances, and weve had nothing but trouble from them. Ive been calling since the beginning of December. I was told that the earliest appointment anyone could come to see our freezer was January 18th, but no one has called to confirm that with me. Someone is supposed to be coming. We keep kosher as part of our dietary restrictions and our meat is rather expensive. Weve had to throw out hundreds of dollars of meat because every night, my freezer stops being cold and goes up to 7,8,9, 10 degrees above freezing so it all thaws. Every morning, I have to put on max freeze. I would much prefer to have my GE stuff at my old house any day of the week. Also, their customer service has been terrible and its a bad product overall.
Viking Range Corporation should have a class action lawsuit. Their ranges have the worst performance in the appliance field. $780 was the last bill to get it up and running. Igniters, warped heat shield, non-working broiler, junk falling off, doesnt come to temperature for 39 minutes. We keep paying to get it maintained. Viking does not return call. Law suit, I say.
The unit I purchased had a dent in the front door and I got it for a discount at Lowes. It was a really good price. A year later, it has stopped cooling. Lowes told me when I bought it that even though it was cosmetically damaged, itd be under factory warranty. Viking sent a repairman out because they acknowledged the warranty. When they were at my house, they said, It was damaged in shipping and you have to call Lowes.â So I called the warranty company and they said âYou bought it on sale from Lowes. Therefore, itâs as is.â Then I said, âI wouldnt have bought the refrigerator for $6,000 if I thought it was not under warranty.â So they said, âYouâre beat.â And Loweâs said, âYouâre beat âcause you bought it at a discount.â So I had to buy a Sub-Zero. Neither company helped me. Needless to say, I donât have confidence in either Lowes or Viking. I wasted $6,000 in one year. I lost the $6,000 and then I paid $12,000 for the Sub-Zero. So, I paid $18,000 really for the fridge. I tried to fight it, and I tried to argue with them, and tried to ask everybody that I could for help. Viking doesnt stand behind their product and they wont help you through a crisis.
I spent over $20,000.00 on a complete Viking appliance replacement for 15-year-old Whirlpool Gold appliances. Most expensive mistake I ever made. The dishwasher does not dry the dishes at all and the inside of the dishwasher is always wet after a cycle. The refrigerator is very noisy and the condenser fan is louder than a jet engine when running on full. Freezer items have frost on them and I can only hope it does not break down in the near future. The convection microwave does not even pop popcorn correctly (or at all) unless bag is placed on a bowl turned upside down? Convection cooktop seems to be working okay as does the oven thus far. I have had several repair calls on the refrigerator with no repairs. One repair person indicated it was supposed to be loud. Do yourself a favor and buy Kenmore Elite or something else besides Viking for 1/3 the cost and 100 times better quality. I want my Whirlpool Gold back (as well as my $20,000.00). Viking needs to wake up before they go out of business. Is there a lemon law for appliances. These are all appliance purchased in late 2013 and I am already looking to replace them all.
I do a lot of cooking so I was looking for something that was more durable than the normal retail types of range. My brother and sister have Viking Range for 15 years before they started having any issues with it. My sister does a lot of commercial type of cooking and baking which is a real testament to its durability. Its quality is good for the most part. However, I have a unit that has a griddle in the middle and we find that difficult to clean. When we use the griddle, theres a lot of splashing and the whole top gets soiled. Just because of that, I dont use it sometimes and Id go back to a frying pan. And if Im cooking something in a frying pan, it will then splash over onto the griddle. I have no type of covering for it so it gets soiled. Also, I was very dissatisfied with the installation and the actual purchase of it. When I initially bought the unit, we looked at some pictures and we picked the one that we want. However, they did not include the backsplash with the initial purchase. I didnt know that they were separate and that I got to pay an additional $350 for it. The item was back ordered so I had to do without it for six weeks. So, I was very disappointed with that experience after spending so much money on a high-end grill like that. That turned me off. Other than those, everything else is great. I definitely love it. The temperature and convection of the oven is really the biggest part of it as far as the reliability. It definitely cooks a lot different. Its something that I use a lot out of everything.
Weve had a Viking over here for quite some time so weve investigated what else they had to offer. The refrigerator has been a little monstrous to haul and get in the wall. But so far, so good. We definitely like it. We like how it lights up so you can see everything. Its a counter-depth. Weve never had a counter-depth before so its smaller and lose things in the back. But it is tall.
Ive been a homeowner for a lot of years and Ive always seen and known about Viking Ranges. Theyre lovely, a dream come true and everybody wants one. We have an appliance store down the street and when we went down there to look for dishwashers, they were running a special where if we bought a range, wed get a dishwasher for free. So, we just dove in, bit the bullet and got it. Weve dealt with the fellow there several times and hes always been great with us. Weve had to purchase items over the years and we always go back to him. He had a floor model of this particular range and he said that it was a great product, so thats what we went with. Everything was great and it worked out really well. Viking speaks for itself and you cant go wrong with it. Its a beautiful piece of appliance and I love it. Its a statement piece when you walk into the kitchen.
A family member introduced me to Viking ranges and their aesthetics and performance convinced me to buy from them. The people at the dealership were great and knowledgeable about the product. Weve been using our range for a month now and so far so good. Weve tried all its features and they all work very well.
So I moved into a new house 10 years ago it came with Viking appliances. I am a research rat and use unbiased information such as consumer reports. I wouldnât have bought viking. They already had class action law suit issues In the past. Bad reliability scores etc. Its basically a brand name that should Say Viking = pay way more. Get way less. Our refrigerator breaks every 6 months like clock work. Our friends take bets on when it will break next. A fun game for them. Not so much for me. Their customer support is god awful and they donât stand behind their product. So do some research and donât buy Viking. For those who say mine works. I would say a blind squirrel occasionally also finds an acorn. Probably not the line you want to describe your 12 k fridge with.
Weve had an okay with our Viking range, but the oven temperatures tend to fluctuate pretty wildly.
The range doesnt have as many features as I would like on the one that I got, but the quality is good.
Iâm a foodie who cooks and Iâve been wanting a Viking range for more than 20 years. There are foodies who eat and wanna go to fancy places, but Iâm the cooking kind. The quality of my Viking products is outstanding and insanely amazing. I like the quality of the Viking range and the infrared broilers of the oven. So far, my absolute favorite is my TurboChef oven. It cooks 15 times as fast as usual and thatâs really good for a working person. The interactions that I had with Plessers, the Viking dealer that I bought the products from, was not as good though. One of the reasons that I went to that store was because Appliance World, the place that I would have gone to which was near to my home, only had a Viking two-year warranty. I wanted an extended warranty for at least 10 years, but they didnât offer that. Appliance World is a topnotch store and I went there several times asking my questions, although I knew I wasnât gonna buy the Viking products there because they didnât offer the extended warranty. I bought the Viking products at Plessers because they threw in the extended warranty. I knew that if we got something, they would be very generous with the extended warranty. If they didnât absorb it, they would do something kinder. But they didnt know the product that well, so I had to make myself very aware.I had read a lot about Vikings products and I also called Viking to ask my questions. I bought a 40-inch range, double ovens with the TurboChef, and a refrigerator. I also got two free microwaves even though I only needed one. But we have not always had great luck with those things, so having a spare is not a bad thing. If one of them breaks, I would have a replacement. Viking had a promotion and depending on what I spent, I got something free. I could get a free dishwasher or any of the four models of microwave free as well. With what I was buying, I could get two microwaves. But Plessers was not very aware of the Viking promotion. They were aware that I could get a free dishwasher, but they were not aware that I could get two free microwaves. They kept trying to give me a dishwasher and I didnât want it because its a European product and doesnât have heated drying, and thatâs not helpful.Another thing was that after we ordered the appliances and paid for them well ahead of when they were placed because they were brand new, we took out three rooms and made a big kitchen. So, there was a lot of construction going on, but the appliances were the easiest thing for me to pick out and the tile and other items were much harder. When the kitchen had been designed, but still on paper, and I was with the kitchen designers and the contractor, I called Plessers up and I told them that if I buy an Advantium speed oven, which is a quarter of the price of a Viking TurboChef, it also acts as microwave. I asked them whether the TurboChef also did that and they said that it definitely does. At the last minute, however, after the kitchen design was done, I gave Viking a quick call and asked them that question again because I was not so comfortable with Plessers. Vikings said that the TurboChef does not function as a microwave, but I can get a free microwave. So, that was a hassle because the kitchen design had to be changed. I told our contractor to figure that out and it was done, but it shouldnât have gone that way. The Plessers guys should have known what they were doing. Iâm sure they took a Viking class, but they didnât do their homework. On the other hand, when I was worried about some of the stuff that I had read on the TurboChef such as its breaking, a young woman at Appliance World told me that a lot of that was because people were not upgrading their electrical systems, circuit box or electric lines for this appliance which sucked in a lot of power. So, they were shorting it out and that was the main problem. I was impressed that this young lady popped that off on top of our head. She said they had that problem in the beginning too, until they realized that they couldnât use the same electrical system for this appliance as everybody else did for other appliances. Appliance World is a huge and gorgeous store. I roamed around there for a good hour and the staff was really nice. They have kitchens set up all over the place and they can demonstrate things for the customer.Viking itself and Appliance World were great. The staff at Plessers was really nice too and they could not have been nicer. Also, the appliances that we got from them were so great. But we had a disappointing buying experience with them. They need an education course on the Viking appliances because if theyâre gonna sell things that are this high-end and expensive, they need to know what theyâre talking about, but they didnât. Nevertheless, I would tell people to buy Viking if they can.
We owned our first Viking for 15 years. That worked perfectly and we never had any problem with it. And so, we decided to purchase a second one, but were encountering a problem with it. The cooker thatâs in front of the stove is not working properly. When you turn on the stove, whatever one youâre trying to use, it starts to fire right away. This has been going on for a month and a half. My husband has been calling Viking back. He has not been able to resolve anything with them. Right now, Iâm not happy with this purchase.
Viking 6-burner Gas Range - Viking authorized repairman has been out twice for my 6-year-old Viking, each time to replace all ignitors and the seal around the door glass. This is extremely expensive and unbelievable that a commercial range cannot take a daily 20-minute usage of the broiler without wearing out in 3 years time. The excuse I was given was that most people dont broil and their stoves last much longer; and that they mostly go out to dinner. What kind of bologna is this? I wouldnt mind repairing it every 3 years because it really does cook food very well when it is working, but the last time I had it repaired, which was a week ago, it cost me about $800 and I expect it will be even higher in the next 3 years! Isnt there a way for all of us to do a class action lawsuit against Viking? Please let me know if this is in the works because there are so many of us with the same story.
I like the look of the Viking Ranges, the quality of the oven and the electric oven thatâs hard to find. We got one that is 36 inches and has six burners. And this feature of the oven is my favorite. Itâs a great looking range and of good quality. When we got it, we thought we had one burner that would not light. But I called and they had somebody come out right away and fixed it. It was quick and it was all covered in the warranty so it was nice and easy. The customer service has been great. Overall, Iâm happy.
Iâve heard of the Viking brand over the years and when I was redoing my kitchen I found them at Best Buy. I liked a few of the features and I was trying to buy a cheaper brand. But the main item I wanted was more of the double oven which has side doors like a bakerâs oven. The oven was very nice however, I was a bit concerned about the cooktop because I canât seem to find the right cook temperature. When you turn that on, you put it on really high and it heats up fast because itâs induction. I canât seem to get used to it and Iâm having a hard time getting used to the different burners. I either get stuff too hot or it doesnât get hot enough. For what I spent for the whole kitchen, Iâm not overwhelmed with all the quality. The refrigerator and the stove are very nice. The refrigerator doors open and close and keep the food cold. Itâs very expensive though. But some of their other appliances are not up to par. The cook-tops should work better. I think it was a brand new design and with this induction, itâs a little tricky to use and it was very difficult to get service. I had to call up and they had to give me a company that would give me service. When I called, I was told that it will be a month and a half before they can come out. I called and tried another company and then I was able to arrange for them to come out a week and a half. Usually, with that kind of money, I should be able to get service in the same week, not two and three weeks for you to use outside service companies. That was a little disappointing. I would have expected better customer service. Furthermore, they offer rebates for buying certain things and I have to beg to get my rebates. With the amount of money I spent and with the company as big as Viking, I shouldnât have to do that. It took weeks upon weeks and then they said I didnât have the right serial number. They made me run through hoops and I had to wait and keep calling and finally, I got the money. Weâre talking $1,400. All in all, I shouldnât have a problem with the rebate nor getting serviced. I think the equipment set would be working a little bit better for the amount of the money I spent. Iâm a little disappointed in the dishwasher but they told me that thereâs not much they can do.
I had a bit of a challenge with the customer service. I bought the range online and when it was delivered, they dropped the dishwasher that came with the range off the back of the truck. It took some convincing to have that replaced. But theyre really communicative and the guy whos come out a couple of times is really nice and very quick. As for the range itself, I appreciate how quickly the eyes on the top get hot. It took some getting used to not having an indicator that the oven was preheated. But one of the hinges was messed up and it looks like its gonna mess up again. Im not satisfied with that.
Viking refrigerator is very expensive at $13,000 plus tax. However, it was not that great because within a few months it stopped cooling down. On the contrary, it was warming up so it was losing a lot of food a couple of times. Luckily, it was under warranty so they replaced the fan, but that shouldnât happen with a $13,000 refrigerator. I was not happy with that at all. We chose Viking because when we bought this house, they had used Viking professionals. We just wanted to match it when I replaced the dishwasher and the refrigerator. They have a good brand name thatâs supposed to be really good quality, but it isnât. Im building a house in Malibu and I donât think Ill get another Viking because of that experience.
Viking has been nothing but great for me. Ive had my oven for years and never did I have a problem. I definitely recommend these appliances for anyone and any kitchen!
Viking products have been in my family for as long as I can remember. I found the right size fridge for what I wanted to do from Viking and I went to the dealer and bought it. I was pleased with the delivery and installation. Itâs an extremely large refrigerator and itâs not the easiest thing to move around. The quality of the refrigerator is also fine. Itâs a high-end unit and its cold. Viking Refrigerators last forever.
My handles keep loosening and tightening does not work. I would love suggestions as my fridge is less than two years old and to have handles that come off is rather bizarre. I was told I could have someone come out and checkout the price... over 200 to just tighten handles that no one can tighten... The allen wrench holes do not function.
Our Viking Range is wonderful. We purchased it from Eastbank, and the people there were very good in terms of the installation and explaining all the features so that we can make an informed decision. I like the ease of cleaning it. When something bubbles or spills over the cooktop, its easy to clean it. There arent a lot of grooves where food can get stuck in. The only downside is that the oven has two knobs. One of them turns the oven and the other is for the temperature. Its a little counter-intuitive and not easy to see. Other than that, our experience has been very good.
I had always wanted a Viking range and so when I started looking at their stove and range, we just renovated our house and we had to get everything new. So we figured we would get the whole bundle from Viking. So far, so good. We bought our Viking refrigerator through a dealer called AJ Madison and our experience was fine. We dealt with it over the phone, and the rep answered a few questions for me over the phone. Weâve only had our Viking refrigerator for about a month but we like it. It works, and it gets my beer cold.
We chose the Viking range for the BTU that it is putting out. Ive also heard that they are very long-lasting. They professional ranges compared with our standard ranges. I love everything about it. I love the broil temperature that they have in their oven. I love their racks because it slides out, while with other brands, it doesnt. If they like to cook a lot at home, Id definitely suggest picking a Viking over anything else out there if you like to cook at home.
I purchased an entire kitchen of Viking appliances minus the fridge. The appliances were installed approximately 3 months ago, but have never been used because we are just moving back into the house. So far, we have had a repairman out for the stove, the microwave and most recently was told that the wine cooler has to have the control panel replaced. Are you kidding me? I havenât had the first glass of chilled wine. I called corporate and was told that sometimes it happens. Not much concern was shown. They made sure that I knew that the cooler has a 2-year warranty. There are 3 reasons that I bought Viking products: first, they are beautiful; second, they are made in America; and third, I thought they were a good company with a very good product. I was wrong on everything except the beautiful part. Who protects us from these predators?
Ive known Viking forever and I bought the range because of the brand. I like the look and the construction. Its quality is good. But when I bought it three years ago, the person I had spoken with wasnt very knowledgeable.
I purchased Viking range from a local appliance dealer and installed it a month ago. I pretty much knew what I wanted âcause I had used the website and based on our space, my husband and I figured out what we wanted. They also answered some questions we had. They have a beautiful stove ring and some of the pieces that we were thinking about were on display which helped to be able to open the doors and look in and see some of the new features. It was nice to have a showroom with actual appliances in it. The quality is good so far. One of my favorite is the indoor grill top. Ive used the oven and the cook top. The only thing I havent used is the grill. Overall, Im confident with the product and Vikings reputation.
I went to culinary school and we used Viking ranges all the time so I know that theyre reliable. They cook well and very evenly which is awesome. They usually dont break which is very good. Unfortunately, we had some problems with the one we got. The racks in it dont slide out. We also had a problem with one of the burners that wouldnt light. Were still waiting for pieces to come in for a few months now. The company has been fine but since theyve come to fix it, we still havent heard anything about the parts coming in. It would have been nicer to get kind of like an update.
I purchased a Viking package, should of looked into the dishwasher before I made them replace my first dishwasher after it broke 7 days of using it. It caused so much damage to my custom kitchen. Now that its leaking again, it caused more damage to the kitchen cabinets that I might have to remove the granite counter top and sink! The damage is probably 3x the amount of a viking dishwasher. Its been over a month of waiting to be fixed and still it hasnt been fixed
My husband wanted a Viking range. We bought one and it has been terrible. We took in the dimensions of the range that we had in. Their guaranteed me it would fit and that the would be a half-inch further out than the existing range we had which was not a big deal at all. However, when their delivery guys got here, it stuck out 4 inches further. So, we had to cut into our granite to get it to fit. Also, their guys didnt bring a range cord with them to do the installation so we had to take the one off of our old range. They also told us that the range would fit and that it wont stick out once we took the granite out. Still, because of the width of the plug, it stuck out. They eventually told me that they would come back three days later with a long enough gas hose and recess the plug in the wall. Instead, they came back with another gas hose that wasnt long enough. I have a 2-foot hose and a 4-foot one and they had two supply lines hooked together. The installers also scratched my floor. After all this, Viking has not been acceptable. Nobody wants to have two gas lines. Its just another spot for it to leak. At that point, I told them that I dont want them messing with my range. They already scratched the floor ones. My husband can change out the gas line and so were gonna do it. Yet another problem was that the door of the range wouldnt open so they sent out a text to fix that plate across the bottom. Three days later, we were actually going to use it for the first time and the light kept coming on. We called them out to fix that and it took a week for them to come out. When they did, the tech said that our hinges were busted so the door was stuck. They also didnt have the part with them so we had another 10 days without a stove. The second time the installers left, they ran over my garbage cans and left them in the middle of the road. So, I called and talked to their guy and he told me that they would figure out what they were gonna do about my garbage cans and the scratches on the floor. However, we never heard back from him. I sent a message a week later telling him that Im very disappointed with the service. We try and shop local, support smaller businesses, and itâs disappointing that they couldnt even get back to me. When I talked to him again, he said he thought I was gonna call him back. He also said that the only thing they would do was refund me the installation fee. Though they were gonna send somebody out to fix our floor, it would cost me. Im not trusting anybody that theyre gonna send out at this point.
I always wanted a professional range. I moved to this house and they have a Dacor. But somehow, when the contractor from the home warranty came in to fix it, they screwed up. They messed up with something. The stove is too old so I had to replace it. The home warranty gave me the option to choose from. At that point, when I was going over some information, I found out Viking is a good stove and the price is quite reasonable for the amount that the home warranty was compensating me. I picked it not knowing that I will have this problem periodically. I have a sparkling problem with my stove on the right. When I turn it on, I always have to use the match to light. This is a brand new $1,000 stove and I dont understand why. Also, when I was reading the description, I wasnât aware that itâs an open stove. Some of the stove, on the top, the water can overflow into the lower shelf all the way to the tray below.I also bought the Viking dishwasher and I found out the instruction book is not very well written. For a long time, when I try to press the button, the red lightâs blinking. That means it has not started. And I keep closing it and opening it, and not until many days later, I called Viking. They said it was like a defect. I have to press it once then push it in. I cannot press more than once. But they donât address that in the instruction book so people donât know. Right now, the handle that opens up the dishwasher is moving but I have no idea how to tighten it up because I donât see any holes.
Ive had a Viking before in my old house but Ive had this new fridge for three weeks and so far, Ive had nothing but problems with it. Everything I put in it, either in the vegetables part or the upper part, is freezing. Everything in the back is freezing. Even though it is cheaper than what I had before, no one will wanna spend $5,000 on a fridge and have problems the very first day it gets there. It doesnât make sense to have that. And when I called in, the customer service gentleman that I talked to was not nice at all. Then Ive had to wait three weeks to get them to fix it. The technician is coming out tomorrow though and the company Viking used was really friendly. It was nice. But it doesnât feel good to spend $5,000 and find yourself with problems and trying to figure out to fix something. Itâs a little disappointing.
Im an architect and I work for a multifamily development group. One refrigerator wouldnât go into the defrost cycle. Weâve had two different local appliance repair companies. The resident asked us to replace the fridge because itâs giving him fits and heâs a VIP. This is a penthouse unit, which is why we went with Viking appliances. Now, weâre waiting on a mainboard and a defrosting panel and waiting on parts is very frustrating.Ive had some difficulties with dishwashers too. Its not so much the quality of the manufacturing as it may be how they were installed, unpacked. Some of the soundproofing and gasketing on the bottom of the dishwashers have fallen off. Theyre also a little too high tech for our residents. We had people do a lot of research on how to use the dishwasher.
We had good luck with our Viking dishwasher and we really liked that a lot so we ended up doing the Viking refrigerator. We bought it from Best Buy and the woman was really knowledgeable and knew the brand well. She made the experience easy. I like that the Viking refrigerator is a counter-depth unit that we didnt have to have a built in. It was perfect for what we were looking for cause we didnt want to remodel the kitchen right away. The refrigerator also doesnt mark up easily and its perfectly designed. The drawers, cabinets and storage spaces are very well-organized. We dont have any problems shifting things around.
We had Viking in the past. It was something we became accustomed to and it really never gave us a bunch of problems. We decided to stay with something that we like and we got a Viking range. The Viking dealer was great. He was helpful, showed us the different products and features, and led us in the right direction. Our range is really nice, and I really like its portable griddle top.
I cannot seem to get my range repaired and no one at Viking seems to care. Six weeks out and no action taken. When I use the oven, the face plate holding the knobs heats up so bad you cannot touch them. Viking repair said they may install a blower behind the plate to expel the heat but after six weeks, I am about to give up. Seems to be a major design flaw to me. I sure learned a lesson about Viking. Beware.
Viking is very well known and their products are very stylish. I had one before and I decided to get a range from them. I bought it from Elite Appliance and the guy there was very enthusiastic. But once I paid, I was had a hard time getting updates on the delivery date. Another thing was the range was too expensive. Other than that, the design of the range fits my kitchen and my cooking style. I do quite a bit of stir-frying so a high BTU range helps quite a bit. I also like the amount of flame that comes out. Its really nice.
We paid $1,600 for this high end dishwasher (Model VDB 450ESS) that does not dry dishes and smells all the time. The clip, which holds the little folding shelf in the top rack, broke. And guess what? Viking will not sell the clip. You have to purchase the entire top rack for $275! I will never buy another Viking product or refer Viking to anyone I know.
We have a relatively new Viking wall oven that smokes terribly. We have used self-cleaning and then wiped out the residue, and it smokes terribly on the next use. Were not talking cooking odor; we get smoke so thick and fast that our fire alarm (not just smoke alarms) goes off and we are called by the monitoring company. Weve had Miele wall ovens in other houses with none of this trouble at all. The Viking is poorly designed in some manner. Maybe it greatly overheats, but there is no way to tell because there is no temperature gauge and no reliable indication (other than a flaky and useless light) that the oven is maintaining the set temperature. Unless Viking can fix or replace this terrible appliance, we are going to get rid of it and never buy Viking again.
Our Viking works really well and its a good range all around. Thats why we use them. I like the broil feature on it. We had to have one of the burners swapped out and the fire bar underneath adjusted on the last range we purchased. It was really smooth to deal with customer service and the rep that came out was amazing. On the whole, the Viking range is expensive but its worth it. I wish I could have gotten a bigger one. I just didnt have room in this house.
Just started cooking in brand new oven. The smaller left side oven just made a loud sound and is now not functioning. The right side oven door hinge came off when opening the door and nearly slammed on my foot. I was barely able to lift the door to get it in place. I have only had the 48 range installed the last two weeks. Very disappointed that Viking made in America is poor quality. I now have to wait until Monday to get any support. Anyone else have this experience?
New home with all stainless Viking appliances. Microwave great. Electric range, dont like the electric but good product. Refrigerator model RWFVRF1 with interior water system. This appliance has leaked since day 1. The water pooled in the bottom shelf of lower freezer section, iced up, and leak out onto floor often. Had appliance center come and put new drain tube in, which resolved this issue. The ice maker never made but a few cubes, and leaked within unit. The ice maker stopped working and now another $180 for repair. Now that we have ice, we have bigger leak problem onto floating wood floor, which now swelled and needs $1,600 repair. Really looking into replacing the fridge, but may need another Viking to match other appliances. UGH. Viking has been awful as to responding, nothing after trying to contact up to 28 times. They always refer you to appliance centers to fix - $$$ and still leaking. Maybe this is a fluke and the product is good, but not sure how to move forward here.
My experience has been horrible. I planned and did everything right. I wanted to make sure I researched. I wanted to support the country too. What I was thinking was either Miele or Viking. Miele was made by Germany while Viking was made in the US. Ive built my house and everything we use is made in the USA. Pacific Sales told me to go with a Viking. I asked how was their service and they said everything is perfect. When we called them, they said it would take longer. It was about closer to Thanksgiving time. They said it takes about eight weeks to build it. Somehow, somewhere, somebody called me one day and said they had one Viking unit sitting in the warehouse. I asked if it was a return unit and the guy said no. They brought it to the house and installed it. After a couple of months, we smelled gas. I called the gas company and they detected the whole house and found out it was the unit which was leaking the gas so they shut it off. When you turn the oven on, youll hear a tick, tick, tick but it will not ignite. Then it will fill up the whole house with gas smell. When I called the service company, I told them, âThe gas company canceled my gas. Can you send somebody so they can fix it? The lady said, Oh, we have until next week. When we told the gas company we smelled gas, they showed up within an hour because it was urgent. The guy opened the whole unit and found out that the end of the gas igniter and all the electrical were exposed. It was sparking at the back of it instead of the front. He said it could cause an explosion so he unhooked it and said I could not use it until they replaced it. They came over and changed it but again, it started the other side. At that moment, I called Pacific Sales. I told them I bought this thing for safety. I have young children. It made me uncomfortable to use this unit. I didnt want it anymore. If they could replace it, that would be great. I didnt wanna keep calling somebody. What I found out was that the best interest of the companies that they use for repairs is to come back because every time they come back, theyre charging Viking service fee. Theyre the one who can make the decision whether things could be repaired or whether things could be exchanged and they always say it will not be exchanged it but it will be repaired. They came back again and this time, the grill was not fitting. The guy bent the pipe. I said, Isnt this pipe engineered and shouldnt have bent like the way youve done? He said it was okay. Theyre supposed to quality check before they ship it. It should have been tested if it closed perfectly. So I called called Pacific Sale back. They kept giving me the runaround. The other day, I called them and said, Every time you do it, the same thing keeps going. Im tired of somebody coming to my house and doing this thing.â They said they were not gonna change. They were gonna send another third party company to look at it if I wanted that but they were not gonna replace it. The griller doesnt work. You turn it on and wait. One day it works, one day it doesnt. They said somebody will contact me within 24 to 48 hours but they never contacted me. The other day, I told the lady, You know me. I talked to you many times, right? She said, Yeah, yeah, Mr. **. I talked to you. Now, I actually have a report for you. My boss told me no, were not gonna do it. I asked if he could call call me but she told me he doesnt call. Im discussing with my attorney what are my options are. Its not right. My familys safety is important. I regret it ever buying this unit. I wish I never dealt with them. I spent closer to $60,000 for that purchase. Viking hood and Viking range are the two things I bought. The rest of it was Sub-Zero and Miele and I have no issue with those equipment.
Viking refrigerator VCSB483DSS. Purchased this very costly unit in late 2008. The ice maker and water dispenser has failed many times, we had to pay to install a heater inside the unit to stop it from freezing. The motor that turns the ice maker has broken twice. The door hinge has been replaced twice. The ice drawer has split. The water pump has malfunctioned three times causing the entire interior of the freezer to freeze over and today another $425 to replace the touchpad thermostat. My floors are ruined from all the assorted leaks. Should have just bought a simple $900 refrigerator from Sears. We have spent $3000 on repairs. Total failure. Never again for Viking.
Our builder used Viking Refrigerators and weve had several issues with our refrigerator. Weve had to have it serviced at least three times possibly for it was freezing up. Nevertheless, weve had fine interactions with the service person. Fortunately, everything has been completed under warranty because otherwise, we would have been very upset.
When we first took delivery of our Viking stove (double oven, 4 burners and grill) the larger of the two ovens didnt work and the computer motherboard had to be replaced. The company servicing it was great so the impact was minimal. Within the first few months, the black finish on the grease trough, although never used, started to peel, exposing the shiny metal underneath. Since it is so visible on top of the stove, I reached out to Brigade (the new name for Viking in Canada) for a replacement part, under warranty. After much waiting on hold, and back and forth emails, they agreed to send the replacement part.I waited five months only to find out that the order was never placed and a new company has taken over their parts distribution. They have informed me that since my warranty has now expired, they will SELL me the part at a discount. How nice! This stove, which looks beautiful, was meant to be a once in a lifetime purchase. Not only is it showing early signs that it wont stand up to normal use, the lack of customer service is disheartening! I wish I loved my stove but I dont and would not recommend a Viking/Brigade due to the poor customer service.
We were looking for those high-end ranges and we looked at the model. We liked the self-closing feature the most and the other brand name didnât have it, which was why we chose Viking. The quality of the range is not bad but it doesnât have a lot of features. Compared to my old one, which is about $3,000, the Viking range doesnât have a timer, a warm-up feature and a clock. We had an issue with it in the beginning but we asked for service and the guy fixed it for us, but I donât know if it is a strong range. Also, once I roast or bake something, the grease spreads out and I have to clean the oven very hard every time. Mine is a 7 Series Viking Range and it doesnât have self-cleaning, but my old one has that. Some repair people come with knowledge and some have different opinions. I did not buy the Viking refrigerator from the same dealer, so I did not register my refrigerator but they have a warranty for 10 years. The handle came off after less than a year of using the refrigerator and it did not come with any instruction to fix the handle but I figured out how to fix it. After I fixed it, we saw something wrong with the Viking Range. So, we asked the guy if they have a special tool for that or just a screw. He said no but I figured it out myself.
I heard about Viking ranges through the grapevine and we like the features. The range is a high-quality one and it operates well.
Ive had the range for over a year and the only issue Iâm having is servicing for things. Itâs been making some noises and banging, and some of the dials arenât adjusted. I called a couple of times and sent in a couple of requests, but I couldnt get anybody in my area. Im in Edgewater, and apparently, theres nobody that services any part. So thats going to be worrisome.
Not the greatest service for a pretty pricey appliance. The grid was kind of hard to maintain. Overtime, the grill top did look discolored (supposed to be normal) but it kind of bothered us as we had an open kitchen concept. Otherwise, best gas stove we have had so far in-term of cooking/pots - the grill top in the center and 2 cooking grids on either side.
We bought a Viking refrigerator 15 years ago. We purchased a new refrigerator to replace one that wasnt working anymore. We had no choice but to buy another Viking because we invested in cabinetry and itâs the only thing that would fit. However, it doesnt fit even if the specs said it would. It was a disappointment. The current model is two inches deeper than the original side by side that fit in the 24-inch cabinet. Viking would not take it back but the appliance company would, but we had looked at other side-by-side models. We would have had to use a stainless and our panel wouldnât fit. In addition, nobody makes a counter depth refrigerator anymore. Wed have to invest in the columns to do that, and theyâre significantly more expensive. Weâre stuck with the Viking refrigerator. Also, they gave us a deal and we had gotten a dishwasher for free that came along with the refrigerator. Vikings specs need to be more accurate in terms of calling something counter depth when itâs really not counter depth. The refrigerator freezes things on the top shelf. Then we had a hinge problem. We had people out of here twice to fix the hinges. The door is also extremely heavy and has a metal compartment on the door. And itâs much heavier than the other unit. Although its a great refrigerator, Iâm not enamored with Viking products. I also own a second Viking, a 36 inch with a lower freezer, which is still working after 15 years.
I love my Viking refrigerator. Itâs a good refrigerator - food stays fresh for longer. I bought it through Pacific Sales and they wanted to drop the unit off and just leave. They didnât know how to install it. I reached out to Viking and got a hold of one of the installers there. And he was fantastic. He followed up and made sure things were taken care of. It was a long process but we got there. Their services were great.
Iâm a previous owner of a Viking range and Iâve also got friends and family that have Viking. Also, years ago, I worked in a commercial industry where the restaurant that we were in used Viking Ranges. I bought a standing range that has an oven underneath and for me, the main feature is the oven. The responsiveness of the oven, the temperature control, and the consistency in its convection oven are excellent. Also, the reason I chose Viking has to do with the type of burners that they have and the difference between a direct flame versus an indirect flame. It really has to do with your cooking preferences. I like direct heat. I like the heat that you can immediately adjust because, with a lot of indirect flames, you still have the cover that holds heat.
We bought top of the line Viking Refrigerator & all other Viking kitchen appliances about 6 years ago from Airport Appliances with 10 year extended warranty for additional $2K Associated Service Corp. Warranty. First year, the ice maker does not work properly & froze in the door which we couldnt use any more. Then, the water line busted & flooded/damaged our house which we had to file insurance claim. Now, it stopped working & was blowing hot air. We contacted Jags Appliance Repair 510-494-9574 who charged us $135 service call & said that compressor, serpentine, heat exchanger, evaporator needs new which will costs another $1700 for repairs (parts covered), not to mention the spoiled food. I called Airport Appliances 510-783-3494 that they cant do anything & that we should contact Associated Service Warranty that we purchased from them for $2K. I called Associated Service Corp Warranty 800-325-4363. They said they only cover up to $160 only, but the service agreement states otherwise that labor is included... I contacted Viking Bay Area Regional Manager/Sue ** who said that Viking parts are covered & can pay only $350 towards the repair, or buy another Viking refrigerator half price. (No thanks to purchasing another Viking products & never recommend this expensive piece of metal that doesnt work.) I forgot to mention that bottom metal piece is rusting too!
Unit kept freezing up. After 4+ service calls and after talking with a technician that knew his stuff, he told me unit has a design flaw. Does not have a good defrosting system, it totally relies on turning itself off for a period of time, where most good systems have the warm refrigerant gas reverse through the system to defrost.
My wife knew about the name Viking and saw it in the stores when we were looking for refrigerators that had a reputable name. However, the Viking refrigerator we have makes a vibrating noise all the time and thats very annoying. They had people come out here twice and there was nothing they could do about it. One person from their support group said that its a manufacturing problem and that theres nothing they could do about it. He said its not a Viking problem and it doesnt make sense to me. I asked him if theres someone else I could contact and he said no. That was very discouraging. I finally tried on my own to find somebody high up, but I couldnt get it. Nevertheless, the refrigerator itself is nice. It has a lot of room and it works well.
I bought a Viking dishwater 11 months ago. During this time, I had to call their repair representative 5 times. I was very dissatisfied with this as I had paid more than twice an average dishwasher and expected better quality and not worse. I have been using dishwashers for more than 30 years and never had any problems before this one. Last week, the washer broke down again and the repair guy said that an olive pit had gone past the filter and into the drain, and he claimed that this was my fault and the warranty would not cover this situation! Now, I always wipe plates and try to get everything off but it is possible thata pit might be stuck to the bottom of a plate or glass and isnt the filter suppose to get that? I consider the design of the filter to be faulty and called Viking but they would not accept paying for the repair. I will never buy Viking again and will relay my experience to everyone I know and recommend them to stay away from Viking products which are highly priced, have poor reliability, and bad customer service.
The builder chose Viking for all our home appliances. Im very happy with the quality of their appliances. Although, Viking was giving us the regular refrigerator without the ice dispensing part in front so I requested for a switch. I like the refrigerators ice part and that the vegetables and fruit trays allow me to check the moisture control - this feature allows the food to stay fresh longer. We had to change the filter once and my husband had spoken to somebody at Viking to find out what filter was required. We ordered the filters through Viking and had been replacing it since then.
