Bought a brand new Viking two door, one drawer bottom freezer fridge. After a while the icemaker quit. They sent a tech. They told me they needed all sorts of parts from Viking. Then I got a call from Viking. Your fridge has been discontinued! Less than a year after coming onto the market. They told us they would send us a new fridge. We got the new fridge on 1 Sept 2014. Just before Christmas, the icemaker went out on this model. The tech called three different techs including Viking because he cant get the icemaker out of the fridge. The line frozen, too. I have to agree with everyone else here. Viking sucks and I have a full Viking kitchen that I wish I could afford to replace them all!

The oven doesnt work. It goes on but it doesnt stay at the temperature I click. About five parts have been replaced and it still doesnt work. I have to keep waiting weeks and months to get it serviced again. I have talked to numerous people and I still dont have an oven that works. This has been since day one. Im not happy with the service.

Viking Refrigerators came in with the house that we bought. My ref is the double-door open and I love that I can open both doors and see everything. Theres no division and I can put whatever I want in the refrigerator part. And I like the presence of it. I also have a Viking range and a Viking dishwasher and I love my range. However, Im very unhappy because the seal on my freezer drawer does not seal. I have someone who will be looking into it. Overall, Im cautiously optimistic with them.

I spend nearly $12,000 in a complete new Viking set (Range, Fridge, Dishwasher and hood). In less than 2 years the technician has come to my house 3 times. The oven didnt self regulate and eventually the thermostat had to be replaced. The digital display on the dishwasher looks like it is in Japanese and the freezer drawer in the fridge needs to be adjusted every 2 weeks. It is a weekend home so you can imagine how much use it got since it was installed. I am being told that all labor is on me. Their customer support was courteous, but denied point black any responsibility. If you buy it, is just for the looks. The quality is certainly not there! And they should not announce themselves as a premium or high quality brand.

The quality of the Viking Range is fantastic. I already have one and I wanted another one. I like the light above the knobs. Its pretty awesome. I dont have it on my old one, but we just got the new one. The customer service at the designer show has been really good, too. However, we have had a problem with the oven temperature. Ive had a technician come out and it wasnt resolved the first time so Im waiting for them to call me back and see if they can resolve the issue. It would also be nice if there was more information on troubleshooting oven temperature for owners, if thats possible, or just a little bit more explanation on how the ovens work and how theyre a little quirky. Nevertheless, its such a beautifully made stove. The racks didnt slide out. Its a great piece of equipment.

Viking VMOS200 died after 7 years of very little use - repairs quoted in the $200-$250 range... not worth it. So now had to find exact same size replacement because of its existing Viking Trim Kit ($400+ by itself) and which matches other trim kits in kitchen. Anyway, only new Viking unit that fits our trim kit is the VMOS201 unit - at a fixed price of $689 plus local tax. Took old unit apart and discovered its basically a Sharp 2.0 cubic foot R530ES model... also obsolete. Note that the current Viking VMOS201 is also Sharp inside.Did some research and found that Frigidaire uses the same Sharp box, model FGMO205KF - and its half the cost of the Viking/Sharp VMOS201. All you give up is the heavier Viking stainless steel door and the Viking emblem. And if you must have the Viking emblem to match other appliances, just remove it from your old unit (use a hot hair dryer and saw the adhesive away with dental floss) and swap with the Frigidaire label. Hope this help other folks that dont want to pay $400. Too much for a commodity Sharp microwave.

Theres something in the Viking brand name and about having a high-end appliance in my kitchen for resale. Its a fine refrigerator and it keeps my food cold. However, I feel like I have a refrigerator that I could have bought from a Home Depot. I could have gotten LG or the GE. Six months after owning it, the drawer broke. Ive got older kids and were not abusive to our refrigerator, but actually, it worked out better. Its easier not having the flap on the door that broke, so we kept it that way. My ice maker broke about three months ago too.We have had the refrigerator for two years and Ive been dealing with repairs, which has been going on now for a couple of weeks because it takes a couple of weeks to get somebody out and he just came. Now, its taking three weeks to order parts. And so the name, Viking Refrigerators, sounds terrible. It looks prestigious but I dont feel that I have any type of better quality appliance than if I had gone with a different brand. It hasnt done anything exceptional. I bought it for the prestige that comes behind Viking, but as far as the refrigerator, and even the stove top, microwave, and oven that I got, I feel that its exactly what I would have gotten with any other brand.

I’ve had just about every brand of refrigerator imaginable and I have never ever had to call and use the warranty and try to get things fixed, except for now with Viking. We were willing to pay the price thinking we were getting quality, but it was very poor. The refrigerator came defective. The doors were uneven and it wasn’t fully balanced so it wobbled on the floor. I had all those little quirky things, but the main problem was when the ice maker would not work, it flooded.I had a free-standing refrigerator and it flooded and it froze, and then it completely stopped working. So we called Viking and they kept trying to fix it but it wouldn’t work. Finally, the technician replaced the refrigerator but we hadn’t had it for two weeks when the freezer flooded, froze and stopped working as well. Plus, the refrigerator always came with cracked little door cabinets, the ones where you put your milk. It is terrible. The doors were also still uneven and the little bend was cracked. They took care of that, but it came directly from Viking and that took a long time to receive. Clearly, there is an issue with the manufacturer.I had also missed an appointment because I couldn’t do the window that was given. I called a day or two before they gave the notice but they never called me back. The next thing I knew the tech was at my house and it was like he didn’t get the message. I was so sorry and I wanted to reschedule. I asked if they could come quickly and he said he could come that week. But I followed up and they never called me back. I finally called them the other day and the rep booked me three weeks out, on March 19th, which was absurd. I had waited a month and now I’m waiting another month. When the technician comes and diagnoses it, I know it’s going to be another month to get the part. It’s an absolute nightmare. We made the purchase through the Best Buy store because it was easy and convenient, and I knew that it was backed by Viking. Best Buy was hard to deal with but it was easier than dealing with Viking directly. I’m in that huge several months process of trying to get my ice maker to work. If this problem continues, I’m going to go to the news. The process is bad and outright wrong. I was being pretty cool about it, but Viking gives me crap.Viking doesn’t hustle out and try to own up to it or make it right. They make you wait and the people that they have that work the warranty don’t care. But they really need to care because they may be making a lot of money installing a lot, but it’s not going to continue. I read the reviews and I know there are a lot of angry people. Reviews are out there with this exact freezer problem and it has happened to me twice. What were the chances of that? If they really paid attention, I wouldn’t have had another problem.

Shortly after posting we received a call from Viking asking for the repair estimates from the service company, which we shared. Viking replied that due to the age of the appliances (5 years) they are not able to help. Viking was once a great American brand that created superior appliances. For the premium price, buyers could feel confident in the the quality of their purchase and the companys customer service. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Viking is aware of the flaws with some of their products, especially the refrigerators (as is evidenced by the sheer number of complaints on this site alone about the same issue), yet they refuse to stand behind their products. Despite my hopes that I would be able to report that Viking did the right thing and repaired what is clearly a design flaw affecting many, unfortunately I cannot. It would be extremely easy for them to resolve this issue, but they choose not to. Instead, Viking prefers to erode customer trust in their products, service and their brand. I am sad to report that the Viking of today is no longer the company it once was. My only advice to anyone considering a Viking appliance or a full Viking kitchen is: buyer beware. Read the reviews on this site and others carefully.

When I was reading the reviews, there was an oven from Viking that was great for baking and cooking. And since I’m a big baker, I decided to get one. I bought it from Best Buy and initially, I bought it with the floor model which came completely destroyed. I was so upset. This oven costs $6,000 and granted, I got the floor model so I got a discount but it doesn’t matter if it’s the original price. It was a little chaotic but they were very nice enough to swap it out for a brand new one. The manager was very forthcoming to exchange my oven and everything was fine. The quality is great. I’ve only had it for two months now and it seems durable. The only thing I get a little upset about is that I can’t have my oven and burner on at the same time. When the oven’s on, the fan starts and it starts cooling until it keeps the temperature. Then, the air from inside comes out from the back of the oven and blows towards the burner. So when I have the flame on, the flame is not steady and it’s like putting a flame in the wind. It’s like boiling all over the place. I also called the company when my broiler wasn’t turning on, and they sent someone. I asked if they sell anything that maybe blocks the wind and instead of coming straight towards the burners, they’d be going upward. But their rep said there isn’t anything. I thought it was simple and I don’t think I’m the first person that had that problem.

We bought the new model of Viking Refrigerator that was a little less expensive than Subzero and got better reviews. We like it and my favorite is its lighting feature. Viking Refrigerator is okay but we’re not blown away. We noticed that the icemaker doesn’t know when to stop making ice, it just overflows. It does all right keeping things cold but sometimes it’s freezing something and sometimes it’s not. It’s just bizarre, it’s like some things in a certain area of the refrigerator tend to freeze. Almost not solid frozen but get close to frozen. It looks great though. Its aesthetically pleasing. I have a cheap refrigerator in Florida that performs the same. Nonetheless, the Viking dealer was great. We got all of our appliances through them. If someone would ask about Viking, Id tell them to do the research and really find out what products work the best. Viking is a good line but I think refrigerators are overrated.

I love my stove. I had to get used to it because of the temperature variation from my old stove to this Viking stove. But I love the style of the stove and the self-cleaning elements of it. I love that it’s lifted from the floor that you can sweep underneath. I also love that it heats up quickly. I love, love, love that it’s stainless steel and you can wipe it down polished easily. Im very satisfied with my stove. I have two issues with my stove. One issue is that my kickplate was dented a little bit when they delivered the stove. So I went back to the store and they said that the company was going to call me because they thought they had the kickplates in storage. But then nobody has contacted me yet. The dent is not noticeable. But when I spend that kind of money for an appliance, I want to make sure that theres no dents anywhere. I got the stove delivered in December and it’s April. I know there was a backlog on them, so I was giving them the opportunity to catch up in the backlog and the whole bit, but this has a been a bit long. The other issue is that the knob on the right gets stuck sometimes and it doesnt turn on or off. You cant do anything with it. If I give it a hard turn, then it will go up or down. You dont want anybody that doesnt know the stove doing that. So this developed within the last two weeks and I have to call them in for that.

Ive known about Viking forever and I chose them because of the aesthetics of their pieces, their higher quality and that they would last longer. I like the height of the refrigerator I got and the size of the shelf because its easy to reach everything. However, I had a frustrating incident with their product which I never had with my old crap refrigerator. It appeared that somehow ice had formed in the circulation system between the freezer and the refrigerator, which caused the refrigerator to not be able to cool down. It took many weeks and two different people to come out to try to fix it. There was no sense of urgency. Viking was recommending the first repair company that didnt work on weekends, which was unheard of. Viking also didnt have enough time slots open to serve everyone. The fridge was fixed but there was a runaround in terms of payment and the Viking people didnt seem to know what they were doing. Viking needs to up its customer service game. They cant charge what they do for a refrigerator and not have 24/7 phone support and people who know what theyre doing on the other end. In this day and age, they cant meet the expectations. Thats not acceptable for this kind refrigerator at this cost. I could have gotten a better service with Sears or GE. I wont be buying a Viking again and I would go with somebody else just on the customer service experience Ive had with them. Overall, the refrigerator is a beautiful product but there is no support for it.

Viking 36 inch convection range. I prefer gas but we dont have that option, so I went with the electric convection model. I chose Viking because of their reputation. I am not a fan of this range. The 36 inch range has four burners with the smallest burners in the front. The right side burners can be used as a single cooking zone, but the heat isnt consistent. All of the burners adjust the temperature throughout cooking which I suppose is a good feature unless youre trying to boil water. The oven is noisy even without the convection. The oven is self cleaning but it takes 8 hours to go through the cycle! Make sure your installer is familiar with Viking. Ours was not. He was there all day trying to get the range installed, and we had to have a technician back immediately to make adjustments. The range is nothing special for the money. It isnt cheap or cheap looking, but I have had much less expensive ranges that I liked better than this one. I find this range very frustrating to work with. The 36 inch, ceramic top convection model ran about $5000. Its self cleaning, assuming you have the 8 hours needed. The middle rack in the oven glides beautifully which avoids spilling of quiches, souffles, etc. The features I find the least appealing are the ceramic top and the tiny burners in the front. The ceramic is impossible to keep clean and the small burners dont heat the pan evenly. Also, the knobs dont lock into place, so you constantly have to check the settings. The burners self regulate, so the burner will reduce the heat throughout cooking. This becomes very frustrating if you are trying to boil water. Gas is probably more consistent. The oven seems small. The racks do not cook evenly, so you cant use all three simultaneously. I cant tell any difference between convection and non-convection cooking except convection is louder.

Im an architect and I work for a multifamily development group. One refrigerator wouldn’t go into the defrost cycle. We’ve had two different local appliance repair companies. The resident asked us to replace the fridge because it’s giving him fits and he’s a VIP. This is a penthouse unit, which is why we went with Viking appliances. Now, we’re waiting on a mainboard and a defrosting panel and waiting on parts is very frustrating.Ive had some difficulties with dishwashers too. Its not so much the quality of the manufacturing as it may be how they were installed, unpacked. Some of the soundproofing and gasketing on the bottom of the dishwashers have fallen off. Theyre also a little too high tech for our residents. We had people do a lot of research on how to use the dishwasher.

The ice machine in our Viking Refrigerator doesnt work. Ive had a service technician out because its still under warranty but they cant get the parts. They cant even confirm when theyre going to fix it. I’ve known Viking products for years. In fact, all of our appliances are Viking. We got the lower end model of refrigerator. Im not an expert on refrigeration, but I dont think that its up to par with other units at its price range. Their upper end models may be totally different but the ice maker design of this unit is not good and it needs to be changed. We cant pull the drawer out because the bearings had gone bad. So, the ice making location or the way it works is not good. Now, I cant even get parts for it but the parts are backlogged. They said its going to take over a month to six weeks to get them. They need to keep these parts in inventory. I can understand if theyre not readily available that day but I hope we could get them within a week. Six weeks is ridiculous. They cant even confirm when theyre going to get the parts, and theyre saying hopefully by Thanksgiving which is not good.

Purchased top of the line Viking fridge for 10K 3 years ago and about 9 months after purchase the crisper drawers were collapsing down onto the bottom shelf of the refrigerator making about half the fridge unusable. Viking sent out their service company and changed the middle shelf which the crisper drawers hang from and changed the slider brackets. Worked fine for about 3-4 months and then the same thing happened again. Viking came out and changed the parts again with exactly the same type of parts. Worked fine for about 4-5 months and then the drawers started collapsing down again when you would open a drawer. Well this went on for 3 more additional services and I think at about the 3rd or fourth service Viking said the fridge was out of warranty! LOL!I informed them that you cant replace defective parts with the same exact defective parts until the warranty runs out and then say the fridge is out of warranty. So they sent a repair company back out who charged me $149.00 to look at the crisper drawers laying at the bottom of the fridge and said yep theyre broke and left. Then they sent a different service company out and they changed the parts again and again it failed after several months. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and I rigged a plastic spacer and thick brass washer behind the middle shelf to kind of wedge the crisper drawers in place. That has held up but was only suppose to be a temporary fix until Viking came up with a permanent solution. Kim from Middlebery that owns the Viking brand said they are working on it, that was back in February and now its radio silence 3 months later. Kim asked me at that time do I want them to come out and fix the shelf till the engineers come up with a solution. I said no my Rig is working so far and no sense having Viking come out and waste both our time and money installing more defective parts. Well no good deed goes unpunished cause it looks like Im stuck with my fancy refrigerator being rigged up so that its functional. And oh by the way the crisper drawers are now all cracked and the sliders broken from falling down so many times. This is frustrating, embarrassing and not right, to spend ten thousand dollars on whats suppose to be a superior brand and have it fall apart and get no company support! Our KitchenAid fridge lasted 20 years and we could have bought the exact replacement for 2 k less! But we wanted to upgrade but instead got a tremendous downgrade. If you want a built in stick with Sub Zero. Thats why my son in law Vince The Builder only uses Sub Zero in his multi multi million dollar homes he builds. He will soon be doing a video of my fridge for his 200K instagram followers to show his clients why he wont use Viking appliances. I hope this saves the next person from going thru the same ordeal as me.

We are building a brand new house, so we went to the appliance store and they showed us all kinds of different options. I knew I wanted the 36-inch or I want it bigger and I want the more commercial-like because I like to cook and I like to bake. The Viking range is what the sales guy had and he showed us. We were interested in the dual because I know an oven is nicer to have electric for baking and stuff like that and the gas for the top. Its very nice. But weve had problems right from the get-go. We love the top, but the oven part is where we having all the issues. The installer noticed an issue with the fan being super loud whenever we run it on convection. He started the claim for us. The installer worked with the store that we bought the range from and was gonna have them come out and take a look at it. Weve had the guy out here twice and we still dont have it fixed. The guy said he was gonna order some parts and he would be back out. He came back out and he said it was not the right thing. He went back and we havent heard from him since.Weve had it since October so the known problems have been since then and we cant get anybody to fix it. We cant even get them now to return our calls. My husband tried to reach out to him a couple of times and havent gotten a callback. The range seems to run really hot. I keep burning stuff in it and Im kinda irritated. Weve already had three issues with the range. First, the wiring harness for the burners that they installed was wired backward so they came and fixed that. Then, the thermocouple in the oven was bad and it cycled way too frequently. It took a long time to get parts but its fixed. The third issue, which isnt resolved yet, is theres a warp in one of the panels. As the oven heats up, that warp kicks loose and we hear a bang. These issues should have been caught by decent quality control and they werent. But the oven works and I love it. I love how easy it is to clean and maintain and it cooks amazingly.

I saw Viking in model homes and magazines and I went with the brand because of the name alone and the look of the product. The refrigerator itself is a great-looking product but the ice maker is a real deal-breaker. My wife and I use quite a bit of ice on any given day but the ice maker produces only one small layer each night. In comparison, my old KitchenAid filled up with ice every single night. I bought the Viking refrigerator from Pacific Sales so when my icemaker unit stopped working after the initial tray of ice, I called them. I came to find out they dont service Viking products and I had to call Viking myself. When I did that, Viking said theyll send someone out through Executive Appliance to service the icemaker. It was nice that they serviced it, but the icemaker still puts out a slow amount.

Im quite happy with the one I have so far. I like the size, the power of the burners, and the griddle. The reps were quite helpful too. I called once just after it was installed because there was something I wasnt sure was normal, but they gave me helpful advice about how to adjust it.

Our Viking Microwave that we purchased 2008 has blown a hole in the bottom
Our Viking Microwave that we purchased 2008 has blown a hole in the bottom of the microwave. I contacted three representatives from Viking, including the West Coast Office president, Bob Woods, who could not help us. We took numerous pictures and e-mailed them to him. He then talked with their engineers who had no idea what happened. This is supposed to be a top of the line product. I am extremely frustrated that I have been given the runaround with no answers. Our appliance repairman (Executive Appliance) said he has never seen anything like this, as the bottom of the microwave is metal. My husband and I live alone and are in our late 50s and do not put anything exotic in the microwave, so this is not an issue. PLEASE HELP!

Viking Range was fined for ranges that turn on by themselves (article dated 4/17/17) for 15 models sold between 2007 & 2014. We have a Viking Range that was purchased in 2017 when our home was under construction. 11/9/19 the oven ignited by itself in the middle of the night; our fire alarm went off & woke us. The house was filled with smoke; we have to flip the circuit breaker to turn the oven off. It was super-heated & left marks on our brick backsplash. It also melted the igniter & safety features of the oven, as well as the mechanisms for the sliding racks. Clearly, Viking has not remedied the faulty part issues that caused this.I called them & their blanket answer is thats not one of the recall ranges, albeit the exact circumstances around the previous problem were evident. The specialist that serviced the oven said it looked exactly like the previous problems, although the part in the oven read as the updated version. The customer service rep stated to send her the service notes & shed forward to management, but didnt think repair would be covered (for new racks and the melted parts due to their faulty parts = $1,600) because the range was not under recall. For $14,000, youd expect better response, customer service, and quality out of a product.

I have owned my Viking oven for 13 years. I purchased the oven because of the Viking name and quality. Unfortunately, I have had 3 costly repairs and I am now faced with a fourth repair after a self-cleaning cycle broke the oven lock. The trouble is compounded by the fact that I cannot finding a repair person in the area willing to help. I have contacted 2 companies that have said they would call me with info about repair and neither has returned a call. Disappointed to now have 4 costly repairs on a very expensive appliance.

We upgraded our kitchen with all Viking appliances a couple of years ago, and I have never been so disappointed in a product line. All of the major appliances (refrigerator, stove and dishwasher) had to be serviced within the first year. The refrigerator has been serviced twice, the dishwasher three times and Im waiting as I write this for a call back from the service technician whom I paid $400 for repairs last week. On a positive note, the microwave works fine, but the trim at the base fell off of it, so I threw it away. The trim, not the microwave.Obviously there is a quality control issue that I am told Viking is working to resolve. In the meantime, my problem is the availability of servicing. The closest and ONLY certified Viking repair technician is an hour away (though the closest Viking distributor is 10 minutes away). Even though my appliances are out of warranty, I still have to rely on a Viking repair tech because Viking makes it nearly impossible for anyone else to service their appliances. If they cant make the stuff work right, youd think that they might at least Make it possible to get it fixed, since its obviously not a rare occurrence. Maybe they want us to toss the stuff out and buy new? Never again.

My wife wanted Viking, and she got Viking. We’ve had the refrigerator for a month and everything’s great, but one part was damaged during delivery. The inside of the door was mangled where the light is for the temperature and I can hear the refrigerator making a gurgling sound when the house is perfectly quiet. Viking sent somebody out and the guy couldn’t come out until after I had to go to work. Although the door was replaced and its perfect, the noise is still there. The guy told my wife that it was Freon running through the tubes, and I don’t know if it’s even that. It could be that it’s water running through my heating system, but I never heard it before. My heating system makes noise, but the plugs for the heater are in the wall behind the refrigerator. I never heard that sound until our refrigerator was installed and Im not satisfied. I’m being told it’s a normal noise and I wanna make sure. If it’s normal, I’ll learn to live with it.

I’ve known about Vikings Refrigerator for years. They were in my family growing up and I liked their dependability. I like the design of the unit I have. But I had a poor experience with my Viking dealer, an online dealer. I purchased from a company called Appliances Connection and theyre out of New Jersey while I’m in Atlanta. I knew exactly the model I wanted and did everything online. But there were problems with the communication between the sales representative when I ordered the unit and the shipping department, and theres the need or knowledge of being service oriented. It was committed to me that it going to be a white glove delivery experience and that the old refrigeration unit would be removed. But when the delivery people got here, they dropped the Viking Refrigerator in my front door and left. I wasn’t able to inspect it and I had to struggle and had to pay them additional cash to be able to get the old unit removed. Other than that, the overall quality of the refrigerator is great.

The problem that I have is that the ice maker arm doesnt stop the ice tray from overfilling - when you open the door ice falls in the back and the arm drops -making additional ice, this causes the cubes to drop in the back of the freezer. Theres not enough space to remove the fallen ice and it also causes issues closing the door. The refrigerator is very good otherwise. Looks like a built in.

I was so happy when we bought our beautiful (blue!) range and fridge in 2011 for our weekend cottage, which is only important because they did not even have daily use. Within the first 2 years the fridge started leaking, the ice maker broke numerous times, the drawers cracked (replacements were hard to find and ridiculously expensive) and now the temperature cannot be adjusted and everything in the fridge freezes. The range is no better. The temperature is uneven, one knob came off, the doors (both) came off their hinges. Now only the small oven closes properly and I have to lean against the large door to get an accurate amount of heat. I’ve spent hours trying to find somebody to fix these two items. When I did, they charged a fortune and the repair lasted no longer than a few weeks. Since about a year I have given up and am living with the expensive mistake I made 9 years ago. I’ve tried contacting Viking directly but they were no help either. I will never buy a Viking again.

Ive had the Viking range for a few months now and so far, I think its excellent. I like that it has very precise and really good temperature control. However, when I was dealing with their customer service, I had a little bit of difficulty. I was on hold for a very long time before I finally got through to someone. He promised me that if I came back with the right serial number, he would replace the parts free. I hang up and got the serial number. Then, I was on hold a very, very long time again. I got a different person who told me that what the first rep said isnt true and I wont get the replacement part for free. But in the end, they worked it out.

The Viking Range seems to be fine but when I ran a little bit of problems, Viking didn’t care until the people I bought it from pushed them. It was brand new and I just cleaned off the griddle. That was when I noticed it was damaged. There were two pit marks in it and with the amount of money I spent for it, I didn’t want a damaged griddle. They sent a replacement part and there was a trough and a backplate but they forgot to send the screws. I talked to the people I bought from since they just delivered it and they tried to contact Viking. Viking said they were not replacing it and the rep from the dealership had to push them to get in order to get it replaced. The customer service wasnt that great in order to get something replaced. Other than that, I like the whole thing and it’s a great range.

I heard about Viking Ranges online and from friends that had it. I liked the name, the look and the feel. There’s a lot of good parts, and as far as the performance, the heating elements of it, especially the oven, its very good. It heats up really fast and I really like the feature. However, the main issue I have with the range I bought is the door being so heavy. It has different panels and then those panels are latched to each other. I’ve been having issues with the door not latching all the way because it’s so heavy that it’s coming apart. And since the door doesn’t close all the way, now the heat is escaping. I had a technician come out here twice already who tried to repair that and rescue that back in there, but now it’s the same issue happening. They won’t replace the door. I’ve called everywhere and nobody gave me a satisfactory solution. At first I called from the retailer I bought it from. It was right at the end of the warranty period. So the first time they came out here, it was still under warranty. They repaired it and no charge. And then, six to eight months later the same thing happened again and the guy came out here again. So, he wrote it up and apparently they didn’t want to replace the door. They just repaired it. So, we’re having the same problem. And then I tried to call Viking directly and then I had under the warranty extended warranty go to waste. If you pay a lot for something you have high expectation and high quality, but it doesn’t seem like it. And then we call and don’t get the resolution that we expected. For that reason, I would never buy a Viking again.

We did a kitchen remodel in 2005. Just like all of you, we thought we were buying the top of the line appliances. We have replaced the hinges twice, the freezer seal, the icemaker three times, had water flowing out of the corner of the bottom freezer, the alarm going off constantly, and now - a refrigerant leak. We were told that it is a ten-hour repair for two repairmen - approx. $1800! We are going to buy a new unit this weekend, and you can bet that it will not be a Viking. We were in the midst of buying a new range and I wanted to see which one was rated the best. We found one that had a good rating and thats what we went in to go look at at PC Richard. But then, my wife saw Viking and the store was running a really good sale on it. My wife liked the way the Viking range looked and she said she always wanted one, so we got one. When we bought it, PC Richard gave my wife a free five-year plan and they also claimed that we can return something within 30 days if we werent happy with it. It wasnt in a day or two when we smelled gas leaking. We called PC Richard and they told us we had to call Viking. Nobody would come out unless we call the gas company to come out. So, the gas company had to come out and they had to sniff on the range to determine that it was leaking and it wasn’t the gas pipe. We called Viking back, they sent a serviceman out, it has been a couple of days and were still waiting for Viking to give the parts to the serviceman so he can come in and install it. It’s been going on a little over a week now. With the amount of money we paid and the range giving us a problem on the first day, my wife wanted to send it back. Then, all of a sudden, PC Richard said, “You cant.” They pointed to this little obscure sign in the back of the counter that says, “No returns on appliances.” My wife wasnt happy with that. We didnt see it at that time and it wasnt brought up when we bought the range that you dont have any options. We researched Viking and found online that people were having problems with them. People complained about the service and the length of time to get parts. We brought that up when we ordered the range because we went to PC Richard to cancel the next day before we even accepted and they kept telling to us how great the range was. It was just a sales pitch. If I had to do it all over again, I would not buy Viking.

We purchased a home with Viking appliances and in about four months that weve been here, the products were okay but I would not recommend them. The refrigerator is noisy, with a lot of clicking noises. We think it’s associated with the filtration system and when it makes ice. And it takes about between three and four days to fill the bin of ice. We tried to use some of the functions where it says excel ice where it leads the user to think that it speeds up the time of making ice. But it still takes three days to fill the little bin in there. But the Viking customer service has been extremely well and Im very, very happy with that aspect.

Viking had a sale going on. The refrigerator I was looking at was discounted and with the rebate I was getting, that put it in a price range that was comparable to Sub-Zero. Plus, the store was saying that they have had good success with the refrigerator and that people liked it. I decided to take a chance on their technology. So far, food doesnt go bad in it and I love it. The refrigerator has technology that pulls out the gas that makes food go bad. Before, I would wind up throwing so much food out because it goes bad by the time I get around to cooking. Now, I make less stops at the grocery store. Additionally, water that that comes from my Viking tastes really good. Its much better than the GE Monogram that I used to have. However, the ice maker has a little wire bar that comes down when the ice tray fills up. Its supposed to set off but then it goes a little overboard such that I find ice outside the ice tray. Still, this was the only thing that was wrong. This is the second Viking that I have had and I have been very pleased with the service. With the first one I had, there was moisture building up on the inside. Everything was getting wet inside that refrigerator and almost every day I had to wipe it down. I complained and Viking sent servicemen out a couple of times. They couldnt figure out why the door wasnt sealing properly. They told me that they couldnt figure out the issue and that they would just get me a new refrigerator. I didnt have to pressure them so much and they gave me a new unit that works. So far, it works fine and its beautiful. I like the way its saving me money through not wasting food. Ive already recommended Viking to other people. I let people who have stayed at my place see it and I tell them about the refrigerators technology. They have been saying its a beautiful refrigerator.

Ive already had to have it replaced. Its a brand new machine, and every time I open up the door, the ice falls down. It is horribly designed. They should have figured it out. The ice machine is not one of those where you put a cup into it. Its just like a normal ice machine where one has to open up the door. I unfortunately bought a Viking gas range from the local dealer Warner Stellian since the Wolf range I wanted was on indefinite backorder. This range has proven to be the worst gas range I ever had the mis-fortune of owning. Absolute piece of junk nothing but problems from day 1. Oven door that doesnt lock in cleaning cycle, spark modules and ignitors that dont work, door hinges that break, etc, etc. And forget about getting ANY satisfaction from Viking you call they ignore you and treat you like your stupid. I recently bought some much cheaper GE appliances for my mothers house in FLA and they performed flawlessly and at 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Viking P.O.S.I think Im not alone see the other reviews on this site and they are all very consistent and UNHAPPY. You have to open the refrigerator doors to get water out of a spigot inside the door, which when youre filling drips onto the bottom of the refrigerator. And we have been having horrendous problems with the door sticking at the bottom. Weve had the freezer door fixed four times that it gets to the point where you just cant open it. We were building a house and knew that we wanted a chef standard range. Viking was one of the options and the price was fairly decent when we purchased it. I like the gas burners and the convection oven which cooks our food faster. The quality is also very good. I previously had an electric range and its not even in comparison with my Viking range, not even close. However, we recently had to get two of the switches replaced for the ovens and the ovens were down for almost a month. There are only 2 companies authorized to work on them through Viking and the D&T Appliance is not a very good company. Viking had over 300 of the parts in stock, but it took forever to send them and get my ovens fixed. Were in the process of selling the house and I dont know if Ill buy another Viking because of that. Viking knows theres something wrong with it. They wont have 300 of those parts in stock if those switches werent bad. I love my Viking range but I dont know if I would recommend it because of the customer service. If there’s nothing with it, it’s the best range out there. If something goes wrong with it, good luck.

The Viking range has all the features I wanted and a good reputation for being a quality product. It lasts a long time with not a lot of maintenance issues. We wanted a blue range to match our blue kitchen, so we got a custom one. The first one that we received was a disaster. It never worked from the minute we got it. The spring on the door was damaged so the oven never shut properly. Every time it got up to a high temperature, it would drop suddenly down and just remain there. Every day, they sent a bunch of people out to look at it and the whole process was annoying. After a lot of complaining, they finally replaced it. But even if they could have fixed it, I still wouldn’t have wanted it. Why would I want a defective stove that didn’t work from the second it was installed? It was definitely not an easy process. They were blaming the distributor and each step that we had to go through was very frustrating to deal with. The brand new range doesn’t bake well at all. My wife tries every day to bake in it but it burns. We got the dual range with the gas top and convection electric oven. The gas range itself is great, but the actual oven is not very accurate in terms of temperature. The way it cooks food is very inconsistent and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone who wants to do a lot of baking. I would like to take an actual temperature reading on it because it seems to cook hot. Im overall disappointed with this product.

We wanted high-end kitchen appliances so we were looking at either Viking or Sub-Zero Wolf. We wanted to make sure that all of our appliances match so we went with Viking. Weve had the range for about a month now and so far, no issues. I feel like its pretty high quality, although when I put it on simmer or very low heat, it tends to lose the flame, so it is hard and I have to really adjust. I cant go all the way low or it will flame out, and it halts my cooking. Other than that, were happy with the oven. It definitely feels sturdy from the knobs to the door. It seems like its well put together so I appreciate that. I havent had issues with cooking. It seems to have a pretty strong flame and for everything that we are using it for, it is doing the trick. The infrared boiler is really nice. I just have to get used to it because it would get very hot. We burned a couple of things and we realized how powerful it was.We had an issue with the fridge. The right door that has the little piece that is supposed to move when shutting it so it can go in wasn’t lining up with the tracker thing that pushes it outwards. They came out and fixed that. Also, the top piece of the microwave wasnt put properly, so we just had the guy who was fixing the door do it as well. Overall, I am happy and I will definitely recommend Viking.

We purchased Viking D2 line (french door refrigerator, double wall oven, cooktop and dishwasher) for our new home and we moved in in February 2013. We have had nothing but problems with these products. We reported the microwave in 2014 to the authorized dealer that we purchased from. The front fascia was coming off every time we opened the door. After over a year of dealing with Viking representative, he came out and glued the door back on. He glued it incorrectly and now the buttons are protruding into the sockets and the front panel is still buckling on the front. Since we did not have good luck with getting the microwave serviced, I have tried dealing with Viking directly on the rest of the products. Waste of time. Got a form letter response. The refrigerator bins have all broken, the ice maker gets plugged up regularly and doesnt make ice, the computer on the front panel of the refrigerator doesnt work and, consequently, the refrigerator freezes all of our fresh vegetables. The cooktop randomly doesnt heat, the top oven does not retain its temperature when there is more than one item in it, the dishwasher does not dry the dishes and doesnt clean them very well either. You have to practically wash them going in and then dry each and every one coming out.The Viking representative in my area is NOT customer service friendly and is difficult to work with. I have written two letters to Viking, contacted the place we purchased the appliances from multiple times and have gotten no satisfactory response. Now all of our products are out of warranty and no one wants to address the issues. I guess they dont care that I will NEVER purchase Viking products again. EVER. And, I am making it my mission to tell everyone I know not to waste money buying products from this supposed high-end products company. I purchased Viking thinking that paying extra for an American made product was important and that they would stand behind their products. Lesson learned.

I do like my range so far. It heats my food which the oven is supposed to do. It feels sturdy, reliable and doesnt have a lot of bells, buttons and whistles. It looks as though it will do what its supposed to do for the next 20 years. My expectation is that because it is expensive, Im going to have it for a long time. It is easy to clean. Im not a big cook, but my understanding from people who do is that its important to have the temperature consistent inside of the oven. Thats one of the things that Viking is known for - even heating. So if ever I take up baking, Ill find that to be true.

My wife went to a showroom and saw a Viking refrigerator and liked it. We got our Viking a year ago and I like the shelving. However, our experience with the team at the actual Viking dealer wasn’t great. They didn’t do a good installation, so we had to have a different team back out to re-install it. Also, when I made my warranty claim, I found out that the unit had not been registered with Viking. But when I went back on the invoice, I saw that I had paid a $4.00 fee for them to register it. I probably wouldn’t buy from this place again, although it’s not Viking’s fault but the dealer’s.I have a warranty claim that Viking is working on because when the power is interrupted, the refrigerator sometimes doesn’t come back on automatically. If they can get that fixed, then it’s a good piece of equipment. If that can’t get fixed or if that’s a design defect in the equipment, then I’m not going to be really happy about it. Nevertheless, I was really impressed with the way Viking handled the warranty claim. It turned out that I called them a day or two after the one-year anniversary of the purchase date, yet they were very nice about it and they said it wasn’t going to be a problem. He could have said that I was one day outside of my one-year warranty period, so they were not going to do it, but they didn’t say that.

I had a bit of a challenge with the customer service. I bought the range online and when it was delivered, they dropped the dishwasher that came with the range off the back of the truck. It took some convincing to have that replaced. But theyre really communicative and the guy whos come out a couple of times is really nice and very quick. As for the range itself, I appreciate how quickly the eyes on the top get hot. It took some getting used to not having an indicator that the oven was preheated. But one of the hinges was messed up and it looks like its gonna mess up again. Im not satisfied with that.

Were really not happy with our Viking fridge. We like that it keeps things cold, but its loud. The plastic on the doors has cracked. We called in the warranty, and they covered it. Right now, the thermostats not accurate. We had to have someone come in and clean the kitchen because it smoked all over the place. Its very poor quality control. It was very expensive and does not meet expectations.

I had a Viking Refrigerator in my last house and I liked it. it’s great! The only thing is at my old house, the drain at the bottom plugged real easy but you can’t really move it in and out because it’s built in, so that was a little bit of a drawback. It’s expensive to get that repaired when it plugs so I finally learned how to do it myself. I put towels all over the place but it freezes up. I got a good deal on floor model for my new house. I got the whole suite of products. Its one of the nicest fridges Ive ever had and Im really happy with it.

Control knobs reach 330deg. The range was replaced. New range oven needs fix because its not keeping temp. Knobs again reaching 330deg. The new range was delivered without the fan retrofit to cool knobs. This was a known problem! Oven again was not maintaining temp. We bought a brand new Viking Professional 301 Series Built-In Dishwasher when we moved into a new townhouse 18 months ago. It hasnt worked in a month, although we have had 4 service calls and 4 parts replacements in 3 weeks - after the last visit it flooded the kitchen floor after the tech left. I think we have had 8 service calls in 18 months. There is obviously a problem with the dishwasher (it has been discontinued) however Viking refuses to consider replacing it. Viking does not stand by their product - rather than provide us with a working unit, they prefer to jerry-rig a series of failing repairs. This is one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever had. I would not recommend Viking to anyone. I understand that appliances fail, however for us the failure has been the integrity and quality of Viking Customer Service. What a disappointment.

Viking Ranges price was attractive and it made me pick them over its competitors. But I’ve had some issues with my range. When they delivered the range, the back burner wasn’t working. I could smell the gas but the fire wouldnt come on and neither of the stoves worked so there was no power going to the stove. They had to replace some circuit in there, and they had to order the part for the back part to do it. My griddle was also brown-looking but I figured that once I cleaned it, it would be okay. I was just on the website last night looking up how to clean and season the griddle the first use. And so, I did everything with the vinegar and then I did the warm soap and water and I did the oil too. But it still looks brown and yucky. I looked up the ones online and they didn’t look like mine looked. There’s a licensed Viking guy seen to fix stuff and he’s coming out tomorrow to fix the back burner so I’m gonna have to ask him if it’s supposed to look like that. The ranges quality is not what I expected and Im a little concerned because I want the stuff to work when I get it and not have to have things fixed. Everyone at the Viking dealership has been nice in telling me that I gotta go through the warranty and they said that if it continues to have issues, I have to have three service calls before they would even look into replacing it. And it sounds a lot of hassle for a brand that’s almost $10000.

Also when it got delivered the doors are misaligned. Best Buy told us that they would take care of it for us but its been two months. They cant seem to send out a certified Viking technician. The chill drawer for the beer and sodas is nice to have. We bought the fridge from Best Buy. They were okay, but they werent Viking-trained. They knew it was a high-end refrigerator and that was it. However, Pacific Appliance, the dealer, should stop using third party people. It was a floor model and it didnt come with a manual. I had to download everything. The guy told us that we should just go on YouTube and learn how to adjust the doors ourselves, and thats why we had to call an actual Viking person to help us out. I recently purchased what I thought was a nice used fridge (Viking Designer Series Fridge DDFF136DSS0) from someone only to find out that it most likely has a bad motherboard. It doesnt cool at all and the display on the front shows nothing but a blue screen. The buttons dont do anything except for light up. After researching, apparently these motherboard controls have been failing a lot with these models and Viking charges $1,000 for a new control board. That is insane for something that is failing regularly. For that price and the repair, I might have to just go and buy a new fridge from a different company. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of care that Viking has presented in the matter. This is a major problem with Vikings product and they do not care. I commented that I could buy a new fridge for the price of the part and the Viking agent laughed and said, I dont know why you think that, people say that all the time but you cant buy one from us at that price. It was rude. I am extremely disappointed. This was for my family but I am a home remodeller and will not be recommending Viking with this type of repair cost and horrible service.

We received our range and it was installed in our home. Everything worked fine for a day. Then, the oven stopped working. We called for a service technician to come out. They came out, did some adjustments, and nothing worked. He couldnt get it to fix so he said that we got to order new parts. I told him that it is a brand-new range and I asked why we need to order brand-new parts. So, it arrived faultily. The parts were back-ordered for probably a month. We spoke to our regional representative, trying to figure out what the holdup was. Of course, it was blamed on COVID and I understood that. Then the parts came and the service technician installed them. Everything was working when he was here. He left that evening. I went to make dinner and put a chicken in. An hour later, the oven was lukewarm. It didnt maintain its flame. The next morning, before I called them, I thought to see what was going on. It would go through its clicking cycle to ignite. It’s a liquid propane system. And we ordered the correct range. That morning, it went through its cooking cycle like it always does and didnt light. We tried it again and then a fireball came out the bottom of it. I called the technician and told them what happened. I also called our regional representative and told her what happened. The technician was busy and couldnt come out ‘til the next week. Then he came back out and looked at it. He called the Viking service line and went through all of the suggestions that they made. He could get the small oven to light, but could not get the bigger side to light, and now has ordered another part. I think its the igniter or something like that is not working. I just got a phone call this morning that were on the schedule two weeks from now to get it repaired. Right now, I’m not very happy. We can use the top, but we cant do anything in the oven. Its pretty frustrating, especially since this is supposed to be top-of-the-line. So, basically, we have a brand-new piece of metal sitting in our kitchen that we cant use to its full extent. The most frustrating thing is were not getting any discount or benefit. We tell our representatives whats going on. We even said that we wanted another one because what if something happens to this one again? I dont know why that wasnt offered, again, ‘cause its a brand-new thing and its faulty when it arrived. I understand its a big piece. Its not like something that I brought home in a bag. It involved shipping and people installing it. But were kind of stuck as a consumer. Our technician is great. Theyre highly recommended. It’s no fault of them. Its the product and these arent cheap. Essentially this thing is the price of a car.

But it wasnt until about three weeks ago, I had some renovating and remodeling. I had the plumbers come out and they connected the water line to the fridge so it can make ice. They hooked it up and I left for work, came back and only about 10 pieces of ice were made. So, I called up the place that I bought it from and they sent out a technician today but they couldnt figure it out. The technician was like, Oh, you need to send this in to Viking. This is a 700-pound unit. I spoke with them and they said that they will come out again to get this figured out. So, Im not very happy with the fridge at the moment. Ive known Viking from many years ago in the food service business. I wasn’t going with the Viking Refrigerator, but with the Viking cooktop. Both appliances came as a package deal and the sales pitch was one item would be free, so it was easier for me to do that. I would have never gone with Viking for my refrigeration purchase. I’ve been using the refrigerator for about a month now and it appears very sturdy and I feel its gonna last. It also appears to do a great job to have the room that I thought it did for its size. I also like the digital controls on top that tells me what’s going onPeople have to understand the options that come with their Viking Refrigerator, like the ice maker versus non-ice maker, down to if they have water filtration for access to waterspouts. Viking is really there when you’re looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. I had the direct vent and it hasn’t worked since day one. After three months, they finally decided to replace it. I saved my money for a very long time for those items and they are the biggest expense Ive ever made on appliances. We wanted a high-end range. We needed something ultra dependable and something with great reviews. I cook a lot and I use good quality pots and pans. We use a lot of cast iron skillets and Le Creuset. Everything thats out there right now is even broken in the store. We went to Lowes a couple of times and the grates of some of their higher end ranges were snapped in the store. It was pretty dumb. Another big factor for us is we did not want a display board. Our previous couple ranges had that kind of electronic stuff and we wanted dials we could turn. We understand there are electronics in there but I dont need a pizza setting or anything like that. We bought the Viking range professional model so its an open burner and we love it. We are now calling it the turbo stove and turbo oven because the stuff cooks so fast. But we had to have a guy come out and check it because some of the igniters werent igniting right away on the stove. When we would turn it off, it would go poof and there is a big flash of flame. We had converted to propane. He checked everything and said it was fine. He explained something about the valve that lets the gas in is further back so we are gonna have that. Its not a problem though as it’s not dangerous. Its just something that had to get used to. And then the guy figured out what we could do where it wont poof. Right now, I have a Le Creuset on the stove and I’m making a bone broth. If I put the two back burners on the simmer function, it’s really nice and low. My broth simmers nicely. It kinda huffs but it doesn’t do that on the front burners. I got a huge stockpot on a front burner. It’s in the lowest setting and its beautiful. Our range works fantastically but it is different from what we were used to. Were adaptable though. We’re gladly working with it. Also, the range doesnt have a timer but Im okay with that. I baked a sourdough loaf this morning and it’s beautiful. The oven is consistently 25 degrees off according to my Amazon internal cheapo thermometer in there. But were also at 4,200 feet. As long as I know that its 25 degrees off, I can deal with that. Our last range was all digital and it was so unpredictable. Thats why we wanted something predictable. Our Viking range is, so far. It’s beautiful and it’s a work of art.

I’m in real estate and I see Viking refrigerators at homes and I thought they were consistent kind of somewhat to Sub-Zero, but they’re horrible. The fridge keeps breaking as far as the doors and the cooling system and the ice machine doesn’t work. I made lots of phones calls and I’ve been talking to their customer service team several times. They ordered the parts that were in back order and took months to get here. The first time something broke, I was without the doors and the condiment shelving for about three months. And when I called, they said they’re still in back order and they couldnt tell me when they’d get here. Finally, they got here. And a month later, two more things broke. The cooling system has broken twice and the freezer stopped cooling once. And then I had to wait for parts for that to come in. I lost hundreds of money in food over the several times when it was broken and we didn’t have a fridge. It’s a really bad experience with the quality of the product, customer service and repairs. They should have items in stock that don’t take three to four months to get, especially when I’m spending $13,000 on a refrigerator. The timeframe to get the part or get the service company to come out is pretty frustrating overall. And they need to improve the product. I would not recommend it to anybody.

Our Viking refrigerator stopped working. Then the oven that we chose worked for a month and stopped working, too. We had technicians coming back and forth with new parts for three times, but it never worked. And it took a while, from February until October, until Viking decided to give us a new one. We have a new oven now and its working. The refrigerator is also working now, so Im happy. But I was three weeks without it and it was a nightmare. The delivery of the part took forever and I didnt know what was causing the delay, especially with something so important like a refrigerator. When I was talking with the company that Viking recommended me to call, they said that we had to wait, that the delay was not on them, and that it was Viking that was taking forever to deliver the part. We also have an issue with the dishwasher. It’s not working properly because it’s not drying the dishes. But I haven’t called and made a complain about it because the repair took so long with the oven and the refrigerator. So our Viking experience hasn’t been good at all. It was frustrating and more than challenging. We thought we had the best appliances when we got Viking. But my husband and I were talking and we said that if we move, Viking would not be the brand we’re gonna choose.

We have had a Viking french door refrigerator installed since November 2016. First the ice in the freezer spills out behind the drawers not allowing the freezer door to always close completely, or the ice spills out over our wood floor when we open the door. We have had frozen food ruined and continuously have to dig behind the drawers and remove ice. Then ice began forming in the regular refrigerator drawers. A repairman has been out twice and says he is awaiting parts. Why he did not identify the need for the parts the first time he was out, I dont know. The refrigerator is a lemon and should be replaced. It has not run correctly since we bought it. Photo of serial number attached.

The door does not shut properly and the racks inside are not easily moved in and out of the oven. The racks just scrape the lips they sit on. For the oven to keep the consistent temperature the oven constantly audibly relights when baking. I wish I had bought a Thermador.

We love the Viking range. We got it through a third party and received it in a week. My contractor did the installation so it was great. I like that the oven and the space for the burners are big.
