We’ve always known about Viking Ranges, and personally, I didn’t want to buy a Viking range because it was too expensive, but we did because my husband wanted it for the quality. Also, it’s made in America, which was a huge factor for our purchase. In fact, I wanted an Italian made oven since it was cheaper, but then we went with the American made Viking range. The people at the Viking dealer were good. However, there was a conflict between the brochure that was on the display and what was actually available. So, that probably needs to get tightened up. But so far, I love our Viking ranges quality. Weve been having an incredible cooking experience with it. Also, I like the look of it. It has clean lines.

I heard the Viking refrigerator is a good one but Im not too happy with them. I always have issues with the refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, etc. I wish I never bought them. My stove is really bad and the lights go off on the refrigerator. Sometimes the freezer randomly gets soaked. I have to put everything out, turn off the refrigerator then restart again. At one time, somebody came and fixed the problem. The guy was good. He was trying his best but I dont want to spend too much time every time waiting for them to come.

On 1/6/2005, I purchased a Viking 36 inch free standing range model VDSC3656BSS dual fuel, 6 gas burners open face, and a single electric convection oven costing approximately $7,000. This oven had no frills, no electronic digital displays, just a good basic heavy duty range. This was a major investment in a kitchen appliance for our 7th new home. My husband was very resistant to making that type of investment, but I stated it’s a “Viking” and very dependable. The 6 gas burners were great (and still function) and the electric oven (although was running cooler than other cheaper oven and had to increase the temperature settings by 25 degrees to achieve correct temperature) functioned. That was up until 3/8/13 when the electric oven failed; the heating elements will not get hot.The oven on light turns on, the interior light turns on and the electric convection fans work but no heat to both (top and bottom) oven elements. On 3/11/13, a repairman was out and identified the defective part, the oven control (not the thermostat or the elements). The power is getting to the control but not passing through. The part was ordered the same day. There have been several follow up calls with the parts distributor. As of 4/9/13, there is still no replacement part. Both the repairman (a certified Viking repairman who has worked on Viking ranges for over 10 years) and I have been searching the internet and warehouses for this part.I emailed Viking, no response to the emails. I called Viking customer support and related the repair issues specifically noting the lack of (availability of) a replacement part and asked if there is a problem with this range. Viking stated that there is no recall or safety notices for this range and provided a name and phone number of a parts distributor. I forwarded this information to my repairman; however to date, 4/9/13, no replacement part. From internet blogs, this particular model with an electric oven (no heat to elements) is a common repair problem resulting in down time anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. Imagine a restaurant with a Viking range that is out of use for 6 weeks to 6 months! I am an individual who loves to cook and bake; Viking is breaking my heart! Okay, so the range is out for a month, I shouldnt complain compared to others out 6 months. However, an extended outage of any duration is not acceptable for professional ranges. A cheap range can be fixed generally the same week it is serviced, arent expensive ranges deserving of something much faster than 1-6 months? So what do I do with a $7,000 paper weight? I find it extremely difficult to recommend a “Viking” range. As of my posting today, the Consumer Affairs website has 266 complaints about Viking, numerous ones similar to mine. Is anyone considering a class action suit on this particular model for this particular repair problem? Maybe that would get some attention! In any event, the oven is down and out for the count. Next stop might be the scrap metal dealer! Viking what happened to you?

Our 30 four burner Professional Viking range is a handsome appliance, but I bought it for cooking and not for looking. Its been a huge disappointment given its cost. The burner ignitors were immediately erratic, continuing to spark after ignition or refusing to spark. Then the oven ignitors failed, something that has to work in order to use the oven. We got them replaced at a ridiculous expense. The Viking-certified repairman was quite forthcoming with details of the Viking scam as he laughed all the way to the bank. Now the burner ignitors do not work, but we simply use a butane lighter. No problem. However, now the broiler ignitor is failing and I have to reach in with the lighter to light it with a nice whump. Im worried about my eyebrows. Dont buy Viking products. Poor quality companies like Viking deserve a quick death.

We were doing a complete remodel of our kitchen, so I was looking at all the appliances for the kitchen. Ive done remodels of kitchens for five or six years and Ive always used Sub-Zero but we decided to try how Viking would work out. We liked the look, the overall aesthetics, and quality of it and the pricing was a big thing, too. There seemed to be a good overall package deal with the broad suite of Viking appliances. What we ended up doing was our entire kitchen is all Viking appliances. The refrigerator has been good so far. The lighting and design are good and I like the easy closing of drawers which is kind of nice. Also, the ability of not to have to do the cleaning of the vents and things was an important feature.

Admittedly I am an appliance snob. BUT I will not purchase an appliance just for the name. It needs to work well. I want to get my money's worth. This microwave is by far the best microwave that we have ever owned. We have had it for a month and everything we have cooked, warmed up or softened in it has been perfect. There aren't the usual hotspots that are in most microwaves. Even microwave popcorn is fluffier and has fewer un-popped kernels than our other microwave had. I truly LOVE this microwave!

Weve had issues with our Viking refrigerator coming with a leak in the line, so it wasn’t very good. They sent a product that didnt work. We had to have them come out and repair it right away before people could even move into the house. We were selling the house. I called Viking, and then they set me up with the two people that work on Viking in the area.

I sent in a big complaint to Viking and I’m getting very poor service. I spent $25,000 on a new suite of Viking and had it installed by a professional and several things went wrong. The first thing, I had a 700 series range top and the Downdraft. When we got them, there was a gap between the back of the Downdraft and the back of the range top so I called my retailer Appliance Works and they were excellent in everything we did. I said, “Isn’t there a trim or something like that?” He goes, ”Well, let me call my district sales manager.” He did that and then he said, “Oh, yeah. You need a trim piece.” So we got an installer here which I paid money for. I had to wait a week and a half and I had to pay for it to have that trim sent to me. We got the back trim and the installer started to install it. Then it stuck out an inch longer than the sides of the range top. I said, “This doesn’t look right.” So I called them back and he called back the district sales manager and the district sales manager said, “Oh, yeah. There’s side trim that goes with that. I had the installer come back again so I paid more money for an installer every time the man showed up. Then I got the side trim and he fixed it. We had to cut it off because of the of the configuration. Ive incurred another $300 to bring the installers back to do the trimming. It was not an easy task to install these range tops and all of these, especially the Downdraft, and the instructions were very vague. We’ve finished a brand-new renovation so then we hooked up the dishwasher and it didn’t work. There was an “error code 02” flashing. Nowhere in any of the brochures or online does it say what the hell error code 02 means. E02. The system was giving me a code of something wrong and there was no way to determine what that error was. So I called my retail manager back again and they said, “Oh yeah. E02 means there’s a lack of water supply. I said, “Lack of water supply? That doesn’t make sense.” I had to call the installer back again and it had been twice because they were trying to figure out what was going on and they weren’t sure what it would look like. It was starting to work then it would shut off and the error code was last. He took the front panel off and the darn hose that drives the water to the washer that was installed by the manufacturer was bent. It’s a reinforced hose with metal in it and the purpose of the metal is so that it doesn’t bend easily. However, when it does bend, then it’s a permanent kink and it restricts the water to flow. What had happened was the hose was too long and somebody forced it into the receptacle that you have to hook to when you install the water. The hose was bent therefore there was a lack of water supply. We had to cut that off, installed it, and the dishwasher works fine now. Then, I got a service call in on another issue. When I was checking the washer out, a lot of times I’d press the P and nothing would happen and the codes wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t come up and give me an option whether I wanted it on quick wash or extra duty wash or cleaning. So I called the customer service and said all of these to the Viking customer service. Another issue was that he referred it to the people here in Salisbury as a service center. I don’t want to work with these people because I gave them the option of buying Viking through them. They were charging me $3,000 more and charging me for every nut and bolt they thought they would need to install it so I went elsewhere. So I called back my retailer and he said he’ll put another service order and I have yet to hear about that warranty schedule being done. Third issue, I went to register these stuff and everything worked fine. But I tried to register the dishwasher and it said, “Well, you can’t register. Your numbers are invalid.” So I called Viking and the lady was nice and she went, “Oh, you have to add a 1 to your model number in order to register.” I said, “Really. That’s nice to know. Can you do that for me?” She said, “Yes. But if I register it, you can’t see it on your account.” The whole purpose of registering this stuff is that if you have warranty work, people can go look and see what’s going on, that it’s a bona fide, the date of sale, and all that other stuff. But if you register it over the phone, then it’s not on my account and unless you ask for it specifically through customer service, you can’t verify that this system was purchased through Viking on a certain date. I went back and registered with adding the 1 so there’s a glitch in the IT system there. Then I tried to register my Downdraft and I can’t do it even though it’s covered on their site. I called back Viking service and they said, “That’s right. We can register the Downdraft on the system. You can’t. But we can register it for you.” And I said, “Yeah. Let me ask you this. If you register it for me, I’ll bet you I can’t see it on my account. Is that correct?” They replied, “Yup. That’s right.” I sent all of these to Viking customer service and sent a long letter that went over each of those things and all the details. After three weeks, I had heard nothing. Two days after I had sent the initial e-mail, I sent a note back to customer service, “Can you at least acknowledge receipt of my e-mail about these problems?” They replied, “Yup. We got it. Upper-level management is looking at it and will get back to you.” After about two and a half weeks, I called back and the first lady I talked to said, “I’ll look into it and I’ll call you back.” She never called me back after two days so I called again and I got a hold of a young man who was very helpful to a point. Within that day, he provided information back and said it’s been passed to the district sales manager for action. I said, “Well, I didn’t ask for reimbursement but I did tell you that I had spent over $500 in additional charges to have this stuff installed and fixed. Because of these issues, I’m still waiting for warranty work and not to mention your other problems with IT, so I’d really like a response from you all.” The only response that I’ve received to date is that they’ve passed the information on to the district sales manager who has had this action for three weeks and I haven’t heard a thing from her. The retailer which is up in Easton, Maryland, said they have continual problems with this district sales manager. She never returns the calls. She’s had the action when the second trim kit was ordered back to the stove again. He passed her the action and said, “Look. You need to do something with this customer.” I had never heard anything from her about reimbursing me for the money Ive already spent to pay for the trim kit or doing something to acknowledge the fact that I had had serious problems with this $25,000 set and I haven’t even used it yet. I don’t know what the status is but this district sales manager is not helping Viking image whatsoever.

A friend of mine in North Carolina had a small Viking in her kitchen and I liked the way that Viking Ranges look and I wanted something that was a step above whats in a regular big-box store. However, it rattles so I had Midwest Appliance Repair come out for it. It was still under warranty so they had the fan fixed but I never called them back for them to fix it again, so now its out of warranty and having to put a new fan in there would cost around $300. Also, it wasnt cooking evenly on the front right burner. So when Midwest was out here, they told me that there were two missing silicon bumpers that were supposed to be on the grates to hold it way up from the flames to the proper height. I asked them to order me a whole set for all three grates so I can replace them if I lose one, but the guy called me back and told me that it was $28 a piece so I will just go down and find something else at Lowes that will do the trick. The parts are pricey especially given how much the cost of the range was. Other than that, my friends call it diamond mill because its fancy and Im happy with it. I love the quality in terms of the weight of the piece and the way it cooks that food. I also love that roll-out rack on ball bearings and the freezer doesnt dry things out and theres never a freezer burn. Overall, its the kind of stove that if I ever move, it will go with me.

The unit that I have has the 18,000 BTU gas flame cooktop and the infrared broiler is super strong. But recently, the front right burner will take a few seconds to fire up. Purchased 2 Viking ovens in 2012, stopped work properly in about 10 months. Called Viking for service, found out Viking only warranty is for 6 months. Had a repair person come out, he said the parts would be around $500.00 for each main control boards to fix the problem. Tried using only the convection functions to do most of baking for several years. I did this only because I did not want to spend an additional $1,000. on these damn ovens. Now, the convection is out, called back repair, when everything is completely fixed on both ovens, we are looking at $1,600.00. I think Viking is truly an awful brand, they do not stand behind their products and part are expensive. Buyer beware!

Their team was very good. But the refrigerator broke within a few months of installing it. The ice maker went out on it and I some trouble adjusting the doors. Theres not enough throw in the adjustment screws to be able to get the doors to sit perfectly square. When I talked to the folks about it on the Viking helpline, we did everything they said. Its just outside of the adjustment cycle of the screw so, its a little bit crooked. So, I had to have some warranty work done to it and they were pretty quick on the warranty stuff. I was happy with that. Other than that, its a good looking refrigerator.

We went out and looked at a lot of different specialty shops and we were looking for high-end appliances. We came to really enjoy and like the way the Viking refrigerator looked and we decided to purchase one. The quality seems fantastic. Weve had one little bump in the road where it wasnt defrosting properly in the freezer and they sent a tech out. Not only was the guy very knowledgeable, but more impressive than anything was that he had the broken parts on his truck. 9 out of 10 times when we ever have somebody come out to fix any appliance, its always a miracle, no matter what breaks, they never have it on the truck. So this guy knew exactly what he was doing and he was effective. He was in and out in 45 minutes. But I didnt realize until we got the refrigerator home and the wife and I looked at it that it wasnt quite as deep as we thought it was going to be when we saw it on the showroom, from a standpoint of inside the refrigerator. But maybe they have one of the deeper models. Other than that, its a beautiful piece of almost like furniture, especially the lighting inside of it, which is fantastic. And its easy access for everything, so nothing but praise to the unit so far. I have also many times recommended Viking to a friend.

I was putting in a high-end kitchen and purchased all Viking products. Theyre industrial feeling. I like the size and capacity of the refrigerator. I also like the way it looks and the ability for it to be built into the kitchen. However, Best Buy managed to make the experience very difficult. There was a significant delay in a lot of the products and they couldnt figure out how to get updates. I ended up finding the 1-800-VIKING number and calling them directly to find out what was going on. I got updates myself because Best Buy acted like their hands were tied in the process. Then Viking doesnt have support and service in my area other than Best Buy to install it, which makes the experience poor. So, even when I got my refrigerator installed, Best Buy acted like they werent gonna be able to do it. They gave me a hard time about it ‘cause I didnt have cabinets in that they wanted. I had to escalate it just to get them to install it. It was so troublesome. I had the same issue with the hood for my range. But Best Buy ended up compensating me by giving complimentary five-year warranties on all my products. They also gave me a free range for about three months during the delay of the range from Viking because the delivery deadline was so different than what they originally communicated to me. They redeemed themselves, but it doesnt change their inability to deal with the process during the process.

I got a range, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a refrigerator from Viking. But Im not happy with any of them. I had a problem with the burners of the range. Its really easy to move the igniter if youre cleaning it and when you take the ring off. But if you move the igniter too close, it wont ignite. You have to bend it back into place. I had to bend it back in place initially to get it to work. Also, the finish on the grills that come with it on the top came off on it in four months. I called Viking and figured they would send me a new one. But they said it was not covered and that it was cosmetic. These things are supposed to be pretty sweet. In general, I’m super disappointed in the fact that it’s 10 grand on a package and I’m not happy with any of the units.

I saw the Viking refrigerator in the store and I liked the way it looked. I liked the way the handles were. It pretty much had straight lines. Weve had it for a couple of months now and we love everything about it. It’s the first time weve had a bottom freezer. Before, we had a side-to-side which my wife and I both hated. Because with the side-to-side, at least at the time that we had it, you couldnt even get a pizza a box in there. Although there was an issue with the trim kit that we got, I cannot brag enough about Viking. When I called to report that problem, they put me in touch with the right person right from the very beginning. I took pictures of it and sent it to them then they looked at it and got right back to me. They said, “Guess what? You found something we didn’t know about. We actually have a problem with the manufacturing and so we’ll get it corrected. He said they would get another one sent right out to me and he did. We wanted a commercial range. We looked at Thermadors but we liked the way Viking Range looked and the price was okay. Viking had a tough track record but we understand they were bought out by another corporation and they supposedly turned things around. The team at the dealer wasn’t great when we went to buy the range. They handle a lot of different lines. They were very nice but not extremely knowledgeable. I would think anybody who represents the commercial people like that would be very well trained. They provided all the information I needed as I asked it, but most of the time, they had to look it up. I think this particular dealer was more into GE, LG and the lower-end or middle-end stuff. They werent impressive by any means. Also, once you pay for them, you would almost think that when they install them, they would run through a tutorial. But the delivery was okay.We like it a lot and have cooked and maked tea on it. Yesterday, we just baked with it and it was making a few popping noises. Were not accustomed to a gas oven and hopefully, its a learning curve but Im assuming that was some of the stuff burning off because its new. Thats a question I have for the technician whos coming to look at the knobs in the front that are rubbing when I turn them and the front kick plate on the bottom that is crooked. But we like that were being able to control the heat on the burners and its appearance as well. It looks very commercial, industrial and it’s well designed. Right now, we’re satisfied.

When I renovated my kitchen in 2007, I purchased the Viking Professional Series dishwasher, fridge and gas top stove. IVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH ALL OF THEM. After spending $11,000.00+ for these three appliances (that came highly recommended by the salesperson at a large, high end appliance store), I expected a good quality product to don my newly renovated dream kitchen... WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!Initially, the appliances all Sat in their boxes until my kitchen renovation was completed about 6 months after my purchases. Several months after installing the appliances, the DISHWASHER broke... the water would not drain properly. Viking repair man fixed, then happened again about a year later. I asked Viking rep to replace product since same issue was re-occurring and appeared to be a pre-existing problem. I was told no; that since the dishwasher was still under warranty they would send another repair man. Fixed again... then same thing happened again within a year... except now (even though they Sat unopened in boxes first the 6 months) the warranty was over.I was told the diverter valve needed replaced, and it would cost over $600.00 to repair!!! I was beside myself, I called Viking and said this was ridiculous since this was a pre-existing problem and I should not have to pay for repair. Well we all know their response... Cant help as no longer under warranty. A frightening and dangerous feature of the GAS STOVE TOP is the design of the on/off knobs. I am all of 110 lbs, and sometimes when I lean forward to stir a pot on a back burner, the pressure from my body will actually turn the flame from the front burner on!!! Also, periodically when I turn one burner on, one of the burners that is off will make a clicking noise. The REFRIGERATOR water dispenser broke after the first year. Later had troubles with the ice maker bar getting stuck in the on position, and more recently the clear plastic on the large pull out drawer cracked. Finally, the other day the refrigerator just stopped working - like it went into a defrost mode - ruined all frozen foods, and most of the refrigerated items. I called the store where I purchased the Vikings to see if maybe the refrigerator was still under warranty - they said no. I mentioned all the troubles I have had with these products, and the sales representative said they stopped carrying Viking products. I think that says it all!!!The repairman came, said it was the poorly designed freon line which was directed into a drip pan (for cooling purposes) causing the line to rust/corrode, and consequently leak the freon. He was surprised to see this since he said, running the line in this manner was stopped years ago. The repair was estimated at $600.00 to replace the line, but possibly $1000.00+ if other related problems were found. The repair man said probably better to cut my losses and go with a more reliable refrigerator like GE, Kenmore or Whirlpool - rather than throwing good money after bad. Like many I want to repair since cheaper than buying new... but based on reading these postings, and past repair experiences... Im afraid of getting burned once again. Being stuck between a rock and a hard place. :(I would NEVER, ever recommend buying these overly expensive appliances built with their cheap parts, and poor design features. I feel like I spent a lot of money and never received a good return on my hard earned dollars. Should be illegal. Guy who mentioned a class action suit may be on to something.

We had seen Viking ranges in different homes when we were looking to buy a home. So, when we decided to build a home, we wanted to go ahead with the Viking product because we did a lot of research and we thought it had a lot of good ratings and a lot of customers were happy with the product. We like the features on the Viking and the overall performance was really highly rated. Our builder sent us to the source that he uses, Galleria. It is in Picayune, Mississippi and we went to the store and purchased ours there. Glenda was the lady we dealt with and she was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and helpful. The quality of our range is very nice. We just moved into our new home. I have the owner’s manual sitting by my chair at night but I havent read a whole lot. But what I’ve been using I’ve been enjoying.

Since getting this very expensive refrigerator freezer we have had nothing but problems. Parts breaking, many service calls and repairs by a Viking certified company given to us by Viking. This refrigerator is only 6 years old but about a year after getting it we have had nothing but issues. We have someone coming on Monday to try to fix the current problem. They were out here 4 months ago. I am so frustrated and will never get another Viking refrigerator again.

We wanted to have a nice Viking refrigerator as we thought it would be better than its competitors. I like the idea that when you open the door, it has the temperature and all of those little controls. The first thing we didn’t like about it was that it didn’t have a water dispenser on the inside or the outside but that hasn’t proven to be a big problem. Another issue is that when the ice falls into the bin, it’s pretty loud. My wife has more issues with it. One time there was some kind of leak and all the ice melted together. We had a nice relationship with the dealer except that when we got the refrigerator and found out there was no water dispenser, we called them and he never called us back. After a while, we just got used to it and I was disappointed in that. He was a good friend when we were buying from him but after we bought it, he didn’t wanna be bothered. But overall, we’re happy with the refrigerator and we don’t have any big deals about it.

The icemaker in the drawer of the Viking refrigerator is very cumbersome. I was gonna call a repair person because it shouldn’t be that challenging to open and close the drawer. Thats the function of it, to get ice, and you have to use two hands and pull it out. Also, the door to the fridge when it has condiments and things on it can be very heavy. But the lighting is excellent and the self-closing drawers are nice.

We purchased Viking D2 line (french door refrigerator, double wall oven, cooktop and dishwasher) for our new home and we moved in in February 2013. We have had nothing but problems with these products. We reported the microwave in 2014 to the authorized dealer that we purchased from. The front fascia was coming off every time we opened the door. After over a year of dealing with Viking representative, he came out and glued the door back on. He glued it incorrectly and now the buttons are protruding into the sockets and the front panel is still buckling on the front. Since we did not have good luck with getting the microwave serviced, I have tried dealing with Viking directly on the rest of the products. Waste of time. Got a form letter response. The refrigerator bins have all broken, the ice maker gets plugged up regularly and doesnt make ice, the computer on the front panel of the refrigerator doesnt work and, consequently, the refrigerator freezes all of our fresh vegetables. The cooktop randomly doesnt heat, the top oven does not retain its temperature when there is more than one item in it, the dishwasher does not dry the dishes and doesnt clean them very well either. You have to practically wash them going in and then dry each and every one coming out.The Viking representative in my area is NOT customer service friendly and is difficult to work with. I have written two letters to Viking, contacted the place we purchased the appliances from multiple times and have gotten no satisfactory response. Now all of our products are out of warranty and no one wants to address the issues. I guess they dont care that I will NEVER purchase Viking products again. EVER. And, I am making it my mission to tell everyone I know not to waste money buying products from this supposed high-end products company. I purchased Viking thinking that paying extra for an American made product was important and that they would stand behind their products. Lesson learned.

I heard of Viking Refrigerators through my friends. Viking has favorable feedback about the appliances and their quality overall. I also like the competitive pricing bundles that they had put a place for this past year-end. They had an aggressive buy two, get one appliance free. And then also, they had a 5% discount rebate built in. It outpaced most of their competitors and at that point of seeing that, it became a no-brainer to buy a Viking. We have an 84 inch by 42 side by side and it works fantastic. The only thing it doesnt have is the water dispenser, but thats not a problem for me. It has been working great so far. Also, my experience with the Viking dealer was great. They did really well and inspected everything out for us and made sure the appliances were gonna fit in terms of measurement, design, and all those basic necessities that I was looking for from a product across the board. We put in our entire kitchen with the Viking products and they did great. I would recommend Viking to others.

It was a brand-new fridge that stopped working after a couple of weeks. Weve contacted them and they scheduled a third-party to come. We had to wait a couple of weeks before they were able to come out and look at it. The guy comes out and confirms that the fridge doesnt work. He wasnt sure what was wrong and had to order some parts. Weeks and weeks and weeks went by and they are still not scheduled to come back to install what they ordered. Plus, the dealer was horrible.

Where to start? Purchased in 2003. First time it was used temp went from 0 to 600 degrees. Damaged racks which they replaced. Nothing but problems. They kept sending Frick and Frack out to repair and they did more damage. I complained to Viking. I have all documentation. Last straw was when I did the self-cleaning on Super Bowl Sunday. It blew the circuit breakers and damaged the main control panel which we had to replace and we were without electricity for 14 hours. We have contacted Viking and they were going to review our case and get back to us--so far we havent heard from them. My husband faxed a long letter listing all the problems plus all the work orders. We want this oven out of our home. My husband said it is too dangerous to have in the house. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing our Viking Appliances. Do not buy Viking. Weve heard that Viking is a good product. A family member had a few items from Viking and then while we were appliance shopping, we liked the looks of them. We had a very easy experience purchasing the Viking range from Hahn Appliance. They had stuff displayed so we were able to look at the range and it was nice. Im loving the quality of our range so far. Were a few weeks into our home using it and we did a whole lot of cooking. Also, I love the gas and the French-open doors for my oven. I also think its pretty cool how the lights all light up at night. However, if I need to put cookie sheets in the built-in refrigeration in a longer way instead of side-by-side, they take up the whole shelf. The built-in refrigeration needs to be a bit deeper so I could slide the sheets in. Still, Id recommend Viking.

I wanted a Viking since I was a kid and I know that they have the reputation for being the best stove. A few times that I’ve seen them, they seemed to cook the best. However, Im disappointed with the stove that I got. I’ve called them a couple of times for an issue that I’m having. I’ve had the stove since May and it’s not working correctly still. I have a 36-inch stove and it has a long piece of metal on the bottom. When you bake with a sheet pan, it sometimes pops so when I heat up the oven, once before it gets to a temperature, it makes this bang that shakes the whole house. Apparently, there was some kind of fix order, but they’re still going back and forth with me about whether to fix it or how they’re gonna fix it. I contacted their service company and someone came out to take a look at it. It was a younger guy and he said that its the way the metal is and there’s not really a fix for it.Then they called me and said that he wasn’t advised of what the fix was at that time and that they have to send somebody back out because the holidays are coming quickly and I still have a stove that doesn’t work. I can still use the stove, but I can’t pull my racks out of my oven, which I’m used to doing when cooking. If I have to take the pan out, the racks do not line up right, so I can’t take them out. I’m constantly reaching into a hot stove and it’s a hazard. On the other hand, their reps are very courteous and they’re great. It’s easy to get someone on the phone, they make appointments, and they have certified people that can come out to fix it, but the process is very slow. I wish they would move a little bit quicker when it comes to service considering the amount of money that I paid for this thing. I expect top-of-the-line service and at this point, my issue should be resolved. Other than that, I would still recommend Viking and it’s still my favorite brand. The stove works quicker than any other stove. It boils water in 60 seconds and it’s unreal. It’s almost too powerful to the point where I had to relearn how to cook. I was burning things initially because I couldn’t get over how strong it is.

We purchased a home with Viking appliances and in about four months that weve been here, the products were okay but I would not recommend them. The refrigerator is noisy, with a lot of clicking noises. We think it’s associated with the filtration system and when it makes ice. My husband wanted a Viking Refrigerator so we bought and paid for it. Best Buy brought and installed it. But they left me with a noise as if I was standing on a runway and an airplane is operating on it. We could not turn on the TV and hear it. We had to shut off all the doors, and even then, we heard it. It was horrible. I called the dealer three times to come. They came, claimed that they fixed it, but they fixed it for two seconds and left. On the third time, I lost them completely and they wouldn’t come back to fix it so I called Best Buy and spoke to everybody there. They transferred me to the Viking office. Some lady said they can send me a repairman, but not till next week. I told her that they have to send somebody right away, but they did not. The day went by and I couldn’t get anybody because it was already evening. I called them the next morning and they finally had somebody from Viking called me. He found a third party and they came. But they left me with a wire hanging into the fan. It was when they transferred it, and that made the noise. At this point, I had a lemon because the fan was damaged. At Best Buy, even the person who sold it told me that his hands were tied and can’t do anything. The manager who came back from vacation was supposed to call me to tell me that they were exchanging the refrigerator, never called me. I had to do everything myself and went back to the store. They said I can choose something else. I chose the JennAir and I wanted to upgrade already. They said that they would come towards me, but I have to pay close to $500 more. I thought about it and calculated it. I also spoke to my son-in-law who just investigated which refrigerator was the best. He said that as long as I have to pay the difference, I might as well pay a little more and get the Sub-Zero. At the headquarters, Lionel was the only guy who was very nice. I talked to him and he called me back the next morning. He asked me what was my decision and I told him to pick the Viking ref up and take it out of here. They left me with a hole for two days and some of my food got spoiled. I got my Sub-Zero on the third day, and we are so happy we made the change. The experience with Viking was a nightmare. We were very unhappy and so aggravated. I also think that Best Buy was at fault here, and their installers. I will never buy one more item from them. But I have a Viking stove and Ive had it for more than 28 years. Ive been very happy with it.

Viking is a well-known name and I made the assumption that since it was extremely expensive, it would be good. The good part is that its nice looking, it heats up quick and it functions well. Unfortunately, we have a warranty repair situation thats still ongoing. The oven has a cooling fan which is quite aggressive, so anytime the oven goes on, theres a fan that blows air from behind the oven to keep the electronics cool, so it really throws off a lot of heat. The problem is as the oven is warming up and/or cooling down, the cooling fan starts to make something in the oven rattle quite loudly. So at a certain point in time, it’ll start to rattle for about a minute and then as the oven warms up, the rattle will go away. Youll get the same thing on the cool down. After the oven is shut off, it’ll come on for some period of time. We had the fan replaced under warranty last week and it didn’t fix the problem. But the store where I purchased the Viking put me in touch with the independent appliance repair place that would do the warranty work, and the repair place was prompt in doing their work. So my experience has been good except for the part that its not fixed yet.

First replacement fan had same problem needing replacement again. Now, in 2015 (oven is just 4 years old!!) the Temperature selector switch not working. Needs to be replaced (cost 435 $ + tax + service call). The service company has had to change this part 4 times already for other customers. I called BRIGADE but they refuse to consider this a defect.Considering that this range costs at least 10,000$ I CAN NOT RECOMMEND SPENDING THIS MUCH MONEY FOR POOR QUALITY OF PRODUCT AND SERVICE. Just found out Viking no longer called Viking but BRIGADE! Daniel came a few times until June 6, 2013 to solve the problem of the noisy oven. Now Sep 11, 2015: control knob for temperature and mode not working clockwise only counter clockwise.

I have used Vikings many times in many homes in the past. I liked the way it functions, and it cooked even. I liked the way it looks, too. It is built well. The range tops and the ranges seem sturdy. I had a conversation with the regional Viking manager. Her name is Sue, local in Sonoma or Marin County. She was very helpful and very compassionate about our issues. As a result, she sent out a second technician to try to troubleshoot what we felt was the problem. They kept insisting that this was just how the Viking refrigerator sounded and sort of that was that.It would be nice if the knobs didn’t stick out so far on the rim. There is about a 4-inch piece of metal on the top that sticks out, so, aesthetically, it would be nicer if it fit back into the counter depth. Also, it would be nice if they manufactured some sort of a piece out of the stainless steel to go with the oven that fits in the crack behind the oven. I know that these ranges don’t all flushed to the wall because you have to have enough room for the plug to go into the outlet and enough room to attach the gas hose. So, it forces the range to stick out even a little further, then it creates a one to two inches behind where you are cooking. So, things can spill or splatter or go down in that hole. I could not get any help from anybody on that. We had to make something ourselves. They have a thing that they put underneath the front of the range to cover the gap where the legs are. They made something for that.

I love my range. It cooks much better than anything else I’ve ever had and that’s what I’m excited about. Viking has a good reputation and I was glad they were made in the US. I also like the fact that it doesnt have any electronic components. The other range I had before was a Dacor range and the electronic part of it just went out all the time. So I was just really happy with this one. The simpler, the better. Plus it lasts long. However, when I had an energy check, it was discovered that there was a gas leak. I then had a well-recommended company come by. That company thought that they fixed the problem at the connecting site in the back, but then the Energy Check people came back and it really wasn’t fixed. So they came out again and they said they fixed it but they really didn’t. They were just putting it tighter and tighter there on the connector where the tube comes in from the wall from where the gas comes. Then finally their best guy came out and he replaced the whole hose and said that the units fixed. However, I still smelled gas and Energy Check told me that I shouldnt smell that. I think the smell thing was there ever since I got the range and I dont know if its a defect. Also, I am gonna have to pay for part of it, which I understand. But I was really impressed that Viking came out and fix the problem. Therefore, I would have no reservation with buying a Viking Range.

Having a Viking Range is something that Ive always wanted for quite some time. Theyre expensive, but at my age now, I am finally able to afford it. I enjoyed cooking and never had this stuff with a high-end range before. I enjoy Viking a lot. I like the six-burner. I never had that many burners before. I could do simultaneously more things on the stove instead of taking turns before. Theyre all have nice sizes too. With the classic, it is just a four-burner range, you only have two small ones. You couldnt put a big pot on it. Then youre limited only to two larger ones. With Viking, theyre basically all the same size. It gave me a lot of options. We had some issues with the installation from Monark Appliances which is the store where we bought the appliances. But after that, when we contacted Viking, they were quite helpful. We had four appliances we got from them and they helped me register all the products online. Then they gave me the name of a local appliance or service dealer who could come fix the issue weve had with the installation that wasnt done properly. Ive been happy with the service we received so far.

We needed a range that fits so we looked around and we heard of Viking. I looked in the store and I liked the look of the range. It was 25 inches deep which was the right size for our already built kitchen. It also had the right functionality. We saw several competitors whose second oven was way too small but Viking also had two good sized ovens in a 48-inch range. Plus, we’ve been pleased with the gas cooktop. It seemed to be much more efficient than our previous gas cooktops. We used AJ Madison online and we went with them rather than locally for the speed of delivery. I want the range as soon as I could so my wife could start using the kitchen. They promised us delivery within 10 days. However, it still took 21 days. And then the problem was that they did not install at the same time of the delivery which was what I would asked them to do. So, we then had to have the range sitting on the metal screw unable to get it hooked up for nearly two weeks because they didnt install the legs properly on the range. It was potentially damaging the hardwood, and it was a truly terrible experience. The timing and the delivery experience was poor. Plus, we had to have someone come in and install the range instead. We were better off going with the local company after all. There were other problems when it was installed like, aesthetically, the dials on the front of the range were not level, so they were all over the place. Another thing was the part hooked to the range underneath the oven was bent and so we had to have a replacement ordered. The oven doors were not level and they sloped off it that those in the left don’t want to slide down to the left. The right won’t slide down to the right. Also, within the oven, there was lots of the kind of ceramic coating that had already chipped off. So, we are having a replacement in the interior of the oven as well. We got to the point where we were wiping sharp ceramic shards. It has been three weeks now since we had the Viking technician out to look at the range and I’ve had no communication when they are going to come and fix it. I contacted Viking two times trying to find someone who could help me install. It also took a week dealing with the Viking reps to get them to have a wise conversation. I found Viking to be very unresponsive. So I like the range itself and the quality would be very cool but it was awful for a $12,000 range. It has not been a great experience all way around.

I did a lot of research on the internet on various high-end stoves and I looked to see about the problems with repairs. I knew that Viking was having a lot of issues before it was bought out a few years ago, but I saw that they had redone a lot of the parts and re-designed them. Their newer reviews were fine, too. They were pretty similar to the other high-end stoves. So, my wife decided Viking was the one she liked the most based on the way it looked. However, there was a scratch which was fairly deep on the stove door. It was installed about a month ago and I didn’t notice until right after the installers left. I was looking at the back of the stove when they took it off the truck. So I called up the store and sent them a picture right away. They acknowledged that it was obviously a problem because its not caused by me. I suggested they just send me a door and I would replace it myself as it is easy to install. I would just send them the old one if they wanted to. But Viking wouldn’t do that for some reason. They sent me a whole new stove. We also got side trim because we have a stone countertop that didn’t have a perfectly straight edge. The side trim makes the stove look like a slide-in type range. We couldn’t use the screws to install the side trim because they stick out and we can’t fit in a normal countertop within a 30-inch distance. It was kind of odd, but it’s no big deal. We just used the side trim and laid it in there, and it worked fine. Other than those, everythings fine. My wife is happy with the Viking stove. She loves it. We like the top of the stove the most. Also, when I had a question about how to remove the lower grate, the Viking rep answered the question right away.

Viking Combi oven model vcso210ss - This is an unsafe product. The trays on this small unit have no stops. As a result of this design defect, the trays slide forward and down. Because of this downward motion, anything on or in the tray has the potential to splash or fall onto the door, which pulls down, or onto the hands of the consumer. Fortunately, no injuries to date but will probably use mostly in the microwave mode which requires no tray.

The appliances are good but they need to have more knowledgeable repair people and a more formal contact procedure in Canada. Ive had experience with other larger companies where you call a head office and they provide you with your repair. And it was not the experience I had with Viking. I had to find my own and I found an excellent repairman, but it took a long time for me to find him.

We live in a rural area fifteen minutes from the Interstate freeway. Five years ago we purchased an integrated Viking dishwasher for top of the line bucks. It took Viking five service calls to get it running and it has performed flawlessly until now. So we call local appliance dealers and none of them service Viking. We call Viking and they tell us there is no local factory authorized service. However, they give us names of repair services who should be able to help us. All but one refuse telling us they have problems dealing with Viking and therefore servicing their products. The only one who would deal with the situation tells us the main circuit board is shot and the minimum charge for the service call will be around $1,100 to change out the $250.00 part due to travel time. We are about a one hour drive from Medford, Oregon. We are replacing a perfectly good machine to the tune of $1,200.00! Viking sucks!!!

I bought a house on June 1 that has all Viking appliances. Since I bought the house, the start button has broken twice, each time taking 2 weeks to repair. Luckily the old owner purchased an extended warranty so it was covered, but I literally used it twice and the button broke again. He told me to tap very lightly, but even with that, a tiny plastic part cracked and the dishwasher wouldnt work. Then I received a notice that an electrical part in the dishwasher was on recall and would take 14 business days to arrive at my house, at which point I could schedule a repair person to fix it. Again, the dishwasher will be out of service for 4 weeks. I called Viking and asked them to extend the warranty because the dishwasher has so many problems but they declined. They said the start button will be covered for a year, but labor isnt covered once my extended warranty is up. Ive never had a dishwasher problem before, and this one has only worked for 4 washes in the last 3 months. Save a lot of money and aggravation and pick a different one.

Six years ago we bought a $10,000 Viking professional range. While it may look beautiful, it has never worked properly. The large oven door will not shut tightly. We have had the appliance store where we purchased it come out numerous times and I am regularly told that I am being too rough with the door. Well, the door has never closed properly, and because it doesn’t close properly the oven turns off whenever I set the oven to a temperature above 400 degrees. The appliance company insists that there’s nothing wrong with the hinges, and Viking has done absolutely nothing to help. I am now ready to replace a stove that should’ve lasted my lifetime. If you’re looking for a stove, choose anything but a Viking.

Beware of purchasing Viking Appliances!!! We purchased a Viking Range, double oven and beverage from Macon Appliance Store in Franklin, NC and spent almost $18,000 only to find out that Viking only carries a 2 year warranty. We had Blossom Gas come out to inspect our gas and they discovered there was a leak coming from the gas range. We contacted Macon Appliance and a repairman contacted us and set up a service call. It was discovered that the gas range had a gas leak and parts were ordered. On 10/31/19 the serviceman returned with the parts to repair our gas range. It was at this time that he informed us that we owed $670.00 because the 2 yr warranty had expired. Needless to say I was livid as what company sells such expensive appliances with a 2 yr warranty. The appliances were delivered in Aug 2017 but our home was not completed until the later part of September. I have also read other reviews from customers that had the same problem with a gas leak so this is obviously a problem with Viking gas ranges yet your company wants to gauge customers that are paying high prices for these appliances with a warranty that is worth nothing. Even Lowe’s, Home Depot and other companies offer a 5 yr warranty and much better service. I will NEVER purchase another Viking appliance again and will ensure that I let people know about the terrible quality of service that Viking provides. It is a shame that a company like yours takes people for their money. I contacted your customer service to report this only to speak with a representative that was rude. I asked her to have a supervisor contact me and I never received a callback. I am also contacting the BBB to report this matter!

Ive had a Viking stove for the past 10 years and I was pretty pleased with the product. And I bought a Viking dishwasher because my old dishwasher, that was approximately over 20 years old, went. So, when my built-in refrigerator went as well, I got a Viking refrigerator because I said, Im just gonna get a Viking. Everything else is Viking. I got my Viking refrigerator through P. C. Richard. In fact, I bought pretty much all my appliances through them and theyve been pretty good.I love my Viking refrigerator. Its roomy and holds a lot. So far, its a great product, so Im happy. I like the fact that the lighting is wonderful. You can see everything thats in it. In addition, I like the way that they have the drawers stacked. I have extra room to put other things in that I couldnt do with my other refrigerator because I had a side-by-side refrigerator then. So, if I had a wide tray, I could never fit it in that other refrigerator. But this one holds everything beautifully. The freezer is a little small, though. It holds a little less than my other refrigerator did but thats okay.

We purchased a complete Viking kitchen which included a range top, downdraft hood, a dishwasher, a Dutch oven, the refrigerator and the convection microwave. We’re satisfied with everything except for the refrigerator because every time you open the freezer, the ice overflows to the floor and I think it’s a design flaw. It doesn’t happen every single time, but the ice builds up and theres no back on the refrigerator, so it goes straight down and falls on the floor. So, somebody has to get to the floor and pick up the ice cubes. But I like the digital controls of the fridge and everything else is fine. Im very surprised about this one item and I know that LG makes their refrigerators so that may be the issue here, but I have heard only good things. I did a research because I know that previously, there were problems with the Viking refrigerators, and I was assured that that had been taken care of. It may be a minor adjustment but weve only had it set in place for three weeks, so weve been dealing with it. If it continues, then Im gonna rattle some cages.

The Viking refrigerator size fits really well into the already pre-sized area for a refrigerator in the house I purchased and the range was packaged with it. And Ive cooked on the ranges before and they were good so I decided to buy one. But when I got it, it was broken and it took them about a month to repair it. The problem was the two of the valves werent working. So if I had the gas on on the stove, it was constantly leaking gas so we had to keep the gas off all the time.Vikings preferred vendor that they hooked up with me was just a nightmare. So everything just took a long time. Like the parts took a long time to come in so they took a long time to come. But they were able to have it fixed last week. It took them a week to come out and look at it, and then it took them almost two weeks for the part to come in. And then it took them another week to come and actually fix it.But The customer service woman I spoke to was really nice. Shed provided me with tracking update and would call the company. I think its just a matter of them getting a more reliable, certified Viking repair specialist because when you have to rely on one place, locally that doesnt seem to make your priority, that can get a little frustrating. But other than that, Viking themselves seemed to be pretty good in terms of their customer service, like being responsive to me. But if you spend almost $6,000 on a stove, it should probably come to your house working. And then your customer service is only as good as the people you have working with you, and partnering with you and I didnt think it was wonderful.

We bought the freezer and refrigerator from Viking 12 years ago. The freezer is still doing great but the refrigerator went out. It would freeze up, and one of the default wires were loose. We hooked it up and then it had another problem. When I called in with problems, they were good about helping to get somebody to look at it. I had two different Viking certified people come out to work on it and they took it quickly apart, defrost it totally and then put it back together and say my drip pan wasnt lined up properly. Both times someone came it cost me $800 each and the second time I decided to just replace it because itll be cheaper in the long run. When I got the new one, the door seal on it would not seal. We travel a lot and we come back home and see that there would be rust inside our brand-new refrigerator. It took three times to get somebody to figure out the problem and fix it and had it slamming shut. Were loving it now. It’s great. The new lighting is so bright and pretty and I really like it. My husband enjoys cooking. We were looking at other ranges all around the same price and we found Viking. It was on sale at the store and we were saving a couple of thousand bucks. So far, it seems it has a good quality. I like the blue light that lights up the knobs. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to see what I’m doing. I also like the way the racks inside the oven slide nicely. The sales rep was friendly. But after the purchase was made my husband had a few questions, and they weren’t so quick to talk to him or call him back like they were before the purchase. Also, I find it odd that it doesn’t have a self-cleaning oven. When I turn the burners on they don’t always ignite and burn evenly the way I would expect them to. I do the baking and seeing that it’s Christmas, I’ve been making cookies that I can only bake in the middle rack. It’s funny because in all the advertisements they show a door opens full of all kinds of goodies on all three levels, and I can’t cook that way. I have the middle rack and that’s it. Anything on top or bottom burns. And they’re not removable racks, except for the middle one. The top and the bottom are on roller slide, that’s why they move so easily. I can’t just pull it out and move it up or down.

I always wanted a professional range. I moved to this house and they have a Dacor. But somehow, when the contractor from the home warranty came in to fix it, they screwed up. They messed up with something. The stove is too old so I had to replace it. The home warranty gave me the option to choose from. At that point, when I was going over some information, I found out Viking is a good stove and the price is quite reasonable for the amount that the home warranty was compensating me. I picked it not knowing that I will have this problem periodically. I have a sparkling problem with my stove on the right. When I turn it on, I always have to use the match to light. This is a brand new $1,000 stove and I dont understand why. Also, when I was reading the description, I wasn’t aware that it’s an open stove. Some of the stove, on the top, the water can overflow into the lower shelf all the way to the tray below.I also bought the Viking dishwasher and I found out the instruction book is not very well written. For a long time, when I try to press the button, the red light’s blinking. That means it has not started. And I keep closing it and opening it, and not until many days later, I called Viking. They said it was like a defect. I have to press it once then push it in. I cannot press more than once. But they don’t address that in the instruction book so people don’t know. Viking 6-burner Gas Range - Viking authorized repairman has been out twice
Viking 6-burner Gas Range - Viking authorized repairman has been out twice for my 6-year-old Viking, each time to replace all ignitors and the seal around the door glass. This is extremely expensive and unbelievable that a commercial range cannot take a daily 20-minute usage of the broiler without wearing out in 3 years time. The excuse I was given was that most people dont broil and their stoves last much longer; and that they mostly go out to dinner. What kind of bologna is this? I wouldnt mind repairing it every 3 years because it really does cook food very well when it is working, but the last time I had it repaired, which was a week ago, it cost me about $800 and I expect it will be even higher in the next 3 years! We have had a Viking range for almost our entire married life. We lost our range in the tornado the day after Christmas, and we did not rebuild. We bought another house. The range that we had in here was an LG and it was a piece of crap. I had to turn off the air conditioning because the gas burner would blow the flame to the right and it wouldnt heat anything. The broiler never got hot enough. I could put my hand under it. It did not do anything it was supposed to do. So, we went back to a Viking. Our other Viking was a double oven, griddle, grill, four-burner and it was wonderful. Our kitchen is not that big this time, so we just got a four-burner gas range and the single oven. The broiler works and the burners have power. I like the center thing where I can put an oval pot in the center. The fellows who delivered it were above and beyond. They spent a lot of time here, carted away our other range and got this one situated. At first, we thought it was gonna stick out from the wall too much and wed have to relocate the gas line a bit, but once they put it in place, it was fine.

This stove will outlast my house. Built like a tank, burners are amazing all the way from the slightest simmer flame to a multilevel scorcher. We have the grill and griddle. Grill makes some smoke but will dear steak just like your outdoor gas grill. Have enough power in a vented hood or you’ll need to remove batteries from smoke alarms. The griddle is thick steel and after one seasoning as recommended you’ll have a perfect nonstick surface smooth enough to cook eggs. Easy to clean with a paper towel. Only downside to this monster is its weight, which I guess only matters to the installers. You’ll never want it to leave and it’s the one thing a thief couldn’t carry out.

My wife is a good cook and she wanted to make sure that she had something that was good for baking that has a good stovetop on it. We decided to get a Viking range based on its resale value - I know a lot of homeowners who are looking at a kitchen recognize the Viking brand. We bought our unit online and it was delivered after a few days. The range is a great purchase and it is a nice addition to the kitchen. Its really dependable, cooks well, and its overall aesthetic is really pleasing. It has PowerPlus so we could boil water quickly and the griddle works really well as well. The ability to be able to cook two different things in the oven has also been a big plus, especially for Thanksgiving.

The quality of the Viking refrigerator is not great. One year later, I’m buying a new refrigerator. But I wouldnt buy the same one again. The ice machine is frustrating and at times, it makes loud strange noises. And the freezer often frosts over. I reached out to Viking and they said there was nothing more they could do.

Viking has a good reputation and their range was the most professional-looking compared to their competitors products. My experience with the Viking dealer team was good. So far, the quality of the range that I received has been great and I like the way it looks.
