In the summer of 2018 we purchased a Viking range model VGR5606GQSS, serial number 081018C10297709. It is a 60” 6 burner, double oven, grill and griddle gas range. We purchased it from Fred’s Appliance in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for our all new kitchen remodel. We have a large family was and this was chosen to provide for our needs especially on holidays. This is where the nightmare begins. This is a short synopsis, as I am an aerospace engineer I have hundreds of pictures of the failures, parts replaced from service calls and lots of documentation, emails, Viking parts book, if anybody wants any of them I will be happy to provide it.1) Shortly after installation, October 2018, the first thing that was noticed was the smell of gas, not a huge leak but noticeable every time walking past the unit. Not long after that we discovered the right side broiler did not work. Now comes Thanksgiving with about 40 people assembled for a happy time. Well what do you know the left oven was not working and we had both ovens running with something in each. 2) On the subsequent service call form Fred’s the first tech did not even know how to work on the unit and had a terrible customer service attitude nor did he even bring a gas sniffer or a way to move a 750 lb stove. We were also told by somebody at Fred’s that some gas leak is normal. Also moving the 750 lb. stove alone he damaged the floor under it. Nothing was fixed on this call.3) The second service request was for the same 3 items, Gas leak inside someplace. Right broiler will not stay on. Left oven acts up sometimes. 4) We did not see any service personnel again until March 6th 2019. A whole team from Fred’s showed up and managed to verify there was in fact a gas leak. It was caused by an improperly installed ferrule on a gas fitting on a regulator on the right side of the oven from the factory. Two issues of concern here, the first the leak was fixed not by replacing the faulty tube but tightening it really tight, the second if you look at the end of the tube it has been cut and not deburred allowing small aluminum chips to possibly enter the regulator and jam it up.. The second is that workmanship at the factory is substandard. Not only was this not checked for leakage at the factory, this leak would have been easily detected at the factory. Pictures available on request.5) So now we have only one of three items repaired. We still have a right broiler issue and a left oven issue. A note here when the left oven stops working the LED by the control flashes 4 times then pause and repeat and nobody not even at Viking knows what that means. The temperature control is made by ELAN Industries, and I believe the part number is EC021006, again pictures are available on request. 6) Now along to the service call on 6-26-19 hopefully (but did not) solve the oven issue(s). Here we are one year later and the left oven is doing the same thing. On 6-26-19 a team from Fred’s arrived again in a convoy of service trucks. This time their goal was to replace the ignitor boards on each oven hoping that would work. The boards are made by Invensys Controls P/N 100-01720-00, (recently acquired by Schneider Electric). They are a microprocessor based board using the PIC16C58B microcontroller by Microchip. They are 120V powered and receive one of two command signals from the oven thermostat telling it to open the gas valve and ignite the gas on either the oven or the broiler on that oven. Each oven has one. Again pictures and schematic available on request. This has resolved the right broiler issue but NOT the left oven failing and not restarting again until it is cool and giving the unknown 4 flashes code.7) We were told by one of the service technicians on one of the visits from Fred’s that if we wanted quality we should have chosen a Wolf range. There is something telling about that statement and I have heard it from others. 8) Now it is getting close to Thanksgiving 2019 for another large family gathering. Brent from Viking and Freds appliance came out Mid November 2019 and replaced the oven controls and changed the orifice on the left oven to a smaller diameter. This did stop the four flashes of the LED but caused a natural gas smell whenever the left oven was on for an extended period of time, it took about 30 minutes and gradually got worse through the house. This triggered a service call from Brennan at Northern Appliance to come out and verify the gas smell, which he did and reported it to Viking. Later just before Christmas Brennan made another service call to change the gas orifice on the left oven, back to a larger one, (the right oven works great). This solved the gas smell, however Christmas dinner was a disaster as the left oven 4 flash issue was back and we could not use the left oven as it would not stay running. 9) Now we initiated another service call over a year and the left oven still will not work correctly while the right one does and the parts list shows them both having the same controlling parts. So I received this e-mail from Jeff the service manager at Fred’s Appliance. They can’t fix it so they are taking it back and refuse to sell us anything now or in the future no matter what brand. I’ve been tasked with informing you that the manufacturer, and Fred’s appliance are working together to refund your range and the 8” back-guard accessory purchased with it. We will make arrangements for an installation company to work with your schedule to remove the range, and we will credit you back the full purchase price for those items upon return. I’ve attached a copy of your invoice and the total to be reimbursed is $14,181.69. The manufacturer and Fred’s appliance management have concluded that it’s not within our best interest to ship out a replacement range because it’s likely that a replacement will not address your on-going concerns. We are initiating return documents and an independent installation company will be in contact soon. Thank you, Jeff

The kitchen was already here when I bought the house and the person that lived in it before I did recommended the Viking Refrigerator to me. Its a good overall appliance. From one day to the next, it stopped cooling. The main machine was frozen and thats why the cooling could not get to the fridge. But now its all fixed. I love Viking.

Viking customer service, should be called customer LACK OF SERVICE. 30-40 minute hold times on phone, lack of knowledge of product parts. Viking has discontinued the part for an 8 year old dishwasher, and only resolve is to charge you for a new appliance, with less discount than I can get at big box store and a charge for installation. Do not use Chesterfield Appliance for Viking repairs. Overpriced and not knowledgeable about product.

Before the start of our home construction, we asked our developer what appliances theyre going to have. They mentioned they were going to do a Viking Range. I did a bit of research and I thought the Viking would be sufficient. However, we were concerned with the first problem that we had. We had the range on August 28 and we noticed around Thanksgiving that the pilot light struggles into lighting when the oven would go out. It would make a lot of clicking sounds, and surely thereafter, it went out. Unfortunately, we didn’t fill out the warranty certificate at that time. We just moved into our new home. So immediately, we filled out the warranty and called Viking and their customer service team was extremely helpful. Their rep immediately put in the claim to the local service vendor. But the local service vendor was really, really slow. One, their availability to even come out here and look at the range, and then from that moment they identified the problem, they said they needed a new part and we didn’t hear anything from them for a week. We called back to ask the status of the new part, and they said that it’s still in order. At that point, I called Viking and asked if they can help and they expedited the process on their end. It took about a month and a half to get our range from the time it went out to the time that it was operational again. I did not fault Viking because they were very responsive. It was the local service providers which resulted in the delays. Overall, Viking is a good quality and very durable appliance.

We had a GE before and it was horrible. We were looking at getting something else to replace it. My daughter’s a chef and she works with a Viking type of oven at her work. She’s the one that told us about Viking Ranges. Were very happy with Viking Ranges. We liked the look of the range. It was a very good one so we went with it. The person from Viking Ranges was very savvy. He knew exactly what he was talking about and he even compared the Viking to the Wolf and said they were very similar. Viking is a fantastic range. It cooks very evenly as opposed to the GE we had before. Also, my wife loves to bake with it. I would recommend Viking Ranges to everyone. I would tell them that it is worth the price you pay.

The Viking range was at my house when I moved into it, but Ive heard great things about the quality and that they last a really long time. It works really well, and it is very clean and sleek. The easiest thing is cleaning the range and the stove top. Its very easy to remove and you can put it in the dishwasher, which is great. One time, the oven door was a little bit loose. I reached out, they had someone come out within a couple of days and fixed it. Since then it has been working great.

We had an old FiveStar 48-inch and we were the second owner and it was on its last legs, so we decided to get a new one instead of spending a lot of money fixing it up. But of course we had a 48-inch space, so we needed a big oven to fill that space instead of redoing the counters. My wife looked at Wolf, Thermador, and the likes and they were all comparably priced. Viking was on the higher end, but one of the main things that had my wife decide was that she was able to get it in colors. Also, she had worked in the restaurant business before and had used Viking on the commercial side. So she knew that they held up and they lasted. The Viking Range works as advertised. It has a griddle and a convection feature. It also has a small oven for a casserole dish and a big one that would fit a full-size cookie sheet with room to spare. We bought it in a store and the dealer was helpful and courteous. They also answered all our questions. However, we had to wait for 12 weeks because of the color but on the day we decided to buy it, we were in and out of there in no time at all.

The oven that we bought from Viking took about eight months to ship and when it came, it was damaged. We had to wait another month and a half to fix one part, so it could be fully operational. So, I dont have a lot of confidence that the rest of the machine is going to last that long. The broiler specifically had to be rebuilt in our house. The microwave hasnt worked properly since installation and after three months, we finally got Viking to replace it instead of fixing it. Its nice having a high BTU range, which was what I was looking for, as a home chef. The oven seems to be working fine and the microwave has some good features if it would work. There should be open communication between the retailer and the Viking Middleby company. Im disappointed. If I had known now what we would have gone through, I probably would have chosen a different option. We were simply upgrading our kitchen and we had something that was working that we got rid of for this.

My Viking lettering on the face plate to set the knobs and buttons to has been wiped off and now we do not know what temps we have set at or any of the other functions such as self-cleaning. We used standard Windex to regularly clean the oven face and eventually the lettering just dissolved. We had Viking replace the plate at no cost and with great hassle through Friedmans appliances and the second time we requested another plate they just blew us off. They would not even order it through Viking because they said it was discontinued. I will Never buy another Viking appliance as long as I live - I am a chef and cook at least 5 times a week. This has been extremely frustrating.

Now 2 months later after my credit card was charged months ago and jerking me around they are telling me that they cant make or get the shelf. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy another Viking Appliance again. Now I have to go out and buy a new fridge because this part isnt available anywhere and YES I have tried everywhere to find it.

I like the aesthetics of the Viking Range and the way it fits in the kitchen. It’s also decent quality. There are higher-end ones but I’m not one that’s gonna spend that kind of money, and even this is overkill. But this would be a better choice. Also, at the time that we bought it, there was a rebate on the range with the hood so that also persuaded us a bit.

I saw Viking Ranges a few times and I liked the quality that it provided and how everything was cast-iron, durable. I like to cook so I told my wife if we’re going to upgrade the kitchen, I’m going to go all-out and get the stove that I want. Something that blended a little bit and had that commercial, restaurant look, and Viking was definitely a factor and their warranty was a big reason too. It is what I was looking for. I also looked at some of the higher-end products but I thought of just getting the one that I want with a higher quality. I got the 30” Series 5 and I like its broiling infrared feature. I also bought a range hood for the top. I already told my wife that if we sell the house, they’re either going to have to pay cash for the appliances or they’re coming with me. I went through Elite Appliance and the shipping was free and the delivery was on time. They had it tracked for me. I got a good deal on my 5 Series. So, I was really happy with them. I would definitely recommend Viking Ranges to whoever is upgrading their house. I know it’s hard. People don’t want to spend that kind of money on a stove. My wife still thinks I’m crazy, but every time somebody comes over, it’s the wow-factor. They walk in and say, “Wow, it’s a beautiful stove.” It makes the kitchen almost like a chef-style kitchen and that’s what I like about it.

Agreed Viking appliances are 100% crap! I have 4 of them. All over $7000.00 each and they have all failed many times. Control boards in the all fridge model and the gas ovens do not light or function correctly, and in some cases not at all. The burn tubes are HAND drilled like from the 40s!!! Basically like some kid with a hand drill trying to drill the gas holes into a tube so it might work! Unreal. The service guy has been out 8 times to try and make it light correctly! The fridge, what a total waste of $7000.00!!! If and when it cools it will freeze the food or just alarm or stop cooling at +14 degrees c! This Viking crap has ZERO consistency and is RUBBISH! Even the Viking toaster had to be returned as it failed the first DAY!

I’ve had just about every brand of refrigerator imaginable and I have never ever had to call and use the warranty and try to get things fixed, except for now with Viking. We were willing to pay the price thinking we were getting quality, but it was very poor. The refrigerator came defective. The doors were uneven and it wasn’t fully balanced so it wobbled on the floor. I had all those little quirky things, but the main problem was when the ice maker would not work, it flooded.I had a free-standing refrigerator and it flooded and it froze, and then it completely stopped working. So we called Viking and they kept trying to fix it but it wouldn’t work. Finally, the technician replaced the refrigerator but we hadn’t had it for two weeks when the freezer flooded, froze and stopped working as well. Plus, the refrigerator always came with cracked little door cabinets, the ones where you put your milk. It is terrible. The doors were also still uneven and the little bend was cracked. They took care of that, but it came directly from Viking and that took a long time to receive. Clearly, there is an issue with the manufacturer.I had also missed an appointment because I couldn’t do the window that was given. I called a day or two before they gave the notice but they never called me back. The next thing I knew the tech was at my house and it was like he didn’t get the message. I was so sorry and I wanted to reschedule. I asked if they could come quickly and he said he could come that week. But I followed up and they never called me back. I finally called them the other day and the rep booked me three weeks out, on March 19th, which was absurd. I had waited a month and now I’m waiting another month. When the technician comes and diagnoses it, I know it’s going to be another month to get the part. It’s an absolute nightmare. We made the purchase through the Best Buy store because it was easy and convenient, and I knew that it was backed by Viking. Best Buy was hard to deal with but it was easier than dealing with Viking directly. I’m in that huge several months process of trying to get my ice maker to work. If this problem continues, I’m going to go to the news. The process is bad and outright wrong. I was being pretty cool about it, but Viking gives me crap.Viking doesn’t hustle out and try to own up to it or make it right. They make you wait and the people that they have that work the warranty don’t care. But they really need to care because they may be making a lot of money installing a lot, but it’s not going to continue. I read the reviews and I know there are a lot of angry people. Reviews are out there with this exact freezer problem and it has happened to me twice. What were the chances of that? If they really paid attention, I wouldn’t have had another problem.

The motherboard of our last Viking fridge died the first two weeks we owned it. The fridge was a lemon from the get-go and we spoke with Viking and they said, “No, it doesn’t need replacing. We’ll replace the motherboard.” Unfortunately, it was a lemon of a fridge. We’ve had at least seven issues with it and the week before Christmas, it just gave up and that was weeks after having it repaired. I went with Viking again this time because the built-in fridge had to be the same size to fit in the box, the old Viking location. Their rep was unbelievable. Since it was before Christmas, they gave us a loaner at no charge and he did his utmost to find us a replacement fridge so that we wouldn’t have to reconstruct the box. He found one in the States but it cant cross the border because it had the Viking nameplate on it. In Canada, it’s called Brigade so we ended up having to pay $2500 more. The rep did everything. He called and said, “They will not allow the one to go over the border and now this one in Canada is going to cost $2500 more.” I said, Okay this is now a scam. He said, “Absolutely not. You can cancel your order. You can keep the loaner fridge however long it takes to find a fridge.” He was very good. So far, the new Viking fridge has been in for two and a half weeks and it has been fine. It is super bright compared to the old one and I like the feature where you can put a pizza box or platter of food. We purchased one in December and it was installed in January.

It has been months since we reported the issue and Viking has been looking into it. However, it has been extremely slow and unsatisfactory plus we have to keep doing the follow-up. They had to order parts and it was absurdly a long time. They should be able to put the order and have it on a day or two and not weeks then tell us its on back order. We do have a service call. They said that the parts came in and its gonna fix it.Viking is poorly handling our situation. We asked for this thing to be escalated weeks and months ago but it doesnt go anywhere. Weve been trying to talk to someone in quality control since they should know about the production issue and fix it. We got promises that they will get back to us but no one does that. They also promised that they would send us a summary via email and there is no email. At this point, we’re clearly not happy Viking customers and we would never ever recommend a Viking product.

I went to SR Appliances and I wanted something more high grade than Samsung, LG or anything like that. Im very familiar with Viking and other brands but Viking stood out better to me in terms of price and value. SR Appliances was great to work with. I bought the range ahead of time. I picked it up and installed it along with my contractor. And then shortly after that, because we were going through some renovation, we didn’t want the range delivered until we were done. But the installation went well. The range is consistent and it cooks great. The BTUs in all the burners work great and cook evenly. I bake a lot and it just performs well. I bought my home 2 1/2 yrs ago with a really beautiful kitchen. All appliances are Viking and the agent kept telling me they are the best products on the market. We have the two drawer pull out dishwashers. From the time we bought the house they do not clean anything properly. I have had technicians out various times, some telling us that cascade powder doesnt work and we must use gel capsules. Even if we wash the dishes thoroughly before they dont come out clean. I need them to work as they match everything in my kitchen. My viking microwave also doesnt work properly so I just use it to reheat. This house was remodelled around 5 yrs ago and from the time we moved in it was terrible. Who needs to clean dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher to find them still marked when you take them out. My daughter has the same crockery set and has a cheap dishwasher and hers come out spotless. Please someone help me as I need everything to match in my kitchen. Viking service are a waste of time and money. Thanks.

I had a Viking for a dozen years, and I wanted to fill the space where it came out, so I got another Viking refrigerator that is about the same model to fit back into the built-in site. The people at the Viking dealer were very professional and knowledgeable. My experience of getting a new one, getting it put in, and getting it working was about as painless as it could have been given that the people who came out to do it have to come up to a condominium setting in downtown San Francisco which is not trivial. This particular Viking fits my needs because of the space I have to put in. I like its size and how it looks. Its a good size refrigerator, its narrow, and the width of it is 24 inches out so it doesnt stick out in the room. It does a good job. The first one should have lasted longer than it did. I had three major repairs in the last three years of it. I hope this next one would last longer.

We owned this place for seven years. After five years, we noticed that the refrigerator would hardly ever shut off and the alarm would go off daily, then it went up to twice a day. We were having problems keeping ice cubes. They would melt, would stick together, and then everything would have a lot of moisture within the freezer area. It got to a point we could hardly keep frozen items in there. A.B. May, the company we got a contract with who service Viking, came out, looked at it and said, “You don’t have a good seal. It could be where the refrigerator itself is a little wavy, so therefore, you can’t get a good seal.” He recommended I just go ahead and not keep trying to put parts back into it and fix it but get a new one instead. So, we did. We went close to a year dealing with the alarm problem. In the last six months, we couldn’t keep anything in our refrigerator while they were trying to figure out what was wrong. When we went and purchased a new one, they pulled the old one out and I saw this big, rusted-out area in the back of the refrigerator. I called Viking at that time and talked to one of the experts in the technical part of it. I asked him what would the cost be if it had this rusted-out area. He said, “It would cost you having problems maintaining the temperature in your freezer department, and you’d have more moisture in there. You wouldn’t be able to really keep anything frozen consistently.” I said, “Well, that’s exactly the problem we had for a year.” Nobody pulled it out to look at the back, obviously. They just looked to try and figure out what was causing with the seal, including the company that is recommended by Viking here.I passed that information on to customer service and I said, “Here’s what our problem has been. We had to go buy a new refrigerator because of this. The whole complex here has Viking in it, and our neighbors refrigerators are working fine.” So now, I submitted all that to the claims department and I didn’t hear from them. I sent another email asking customer service what is going on because I was told, it was passed on to claims. Somebody from claims then got back to me and said, “We need the photos you’re talking about. We need the service repairs.” So, I said, “Customer service said that was all passed on to you. It even had a service number. I have not heard back from them.” So, I’m not very happy with Viking because Ive not been able to get the response I need from them. Im to the point where if I don’t get a response, Im going to start posting those rusted-out pictures on social media. We have the double ovens, microwave, dishwasher, everything is Viking, that was why we went back with the Viking refrigerator again. I’m very happy with the new one. It’s working like it’s supposed to. But the problem is the old one. Ive had it for about 10 years. And for a year, we were very inconvenienced. At least I can get a goodnight’s sleep now. I don’t have to get up in the middle of the night to turn the alarm off. I even called Viking and wanted to know if there was a way I could disable it and they said no. They said that we can’t disable it. And the only thing we can do is if we leave for a vacation. They said, “You’re just gonna have to unplug it and it’s the only way.” Because we didn’t want it beeping all the time. It would drive the neighbors nuts. So, I wouldn’t rate their service very good, not from what I was being told.So far, it’s been tough even getting anybody to communicate back to me. Every time I called in and asked about what I could do, the customer service people would always transfer me to somebody else. But when we couldn’t keep the temperatures in the oven, A.B. May came out and replaced the circuit boards. They were great. We just recently replaced the hinges on one of the oven doors because it wouldn’t even shut tight enough to turn the light off. And when they put the new hinges on, it’s now working as it’s supposed to.

My wife researched Viking Ranges online since we’ve seen them before at different houses. She was happy with the price and the package that she got. We got a white range with a big scratch on it and it took six months to get a new kit panel. My experiences with Viking are not very good. But the range is great except for the scratch. The people who sold us the appliances dealt with the Viking dealership and they’re absolutely terrible. I would get a call on a Monday and she would tell me I’m going to hear from Viking and they would tell me what theyre going to do. But we never got a call. And at the end of the week, I’d call them and tell them we didn’t get a call this week. And they would say we didnt get a callback because she was busy or it was the Fourth of July or the Memorial Day or a Flag Day. We weren’t happy when we received it. It also took a long time to get anything. They need to send somebody else who knows what they’re doing besides analyzing what the repairman did! I’m not impressed at all. It’s been an unbelievably poor experience.

The first person we dealt with at the Viking dealer was really bad at his job. He only did the bare minimum for customer service and didnt really care about it. The second was fantastic, though. She was attentive, helpful and did what we needed to get done with the same information that was provided to the first guy. Weve had a good experience with them. The repair company that they referred to us came out the next day to repair our freezer after the other repair company could come only after two weeks. Its really nice that we were given accommodations. Now its done so thats great. However, the refrigerator is very shallow. It needs to be deeper so it can fit more stuff but other than that, its great. Im very satisfied with my Viking experience. Theyre easy to work with and I appreciate the above and beyond customer service.

Viking is a good brand and its the top of the line range. The dealer was very good, I like the stove and Im very happy. On the other hand, I called Viking because I had problems with my range and my ice maker. They re-directed me to a repair company located in Huntington Beach, close to where I live. Im very unhappy with that company. If Im the only one complaining, maybe its bad luck, but if there are other customers that are complaining about that repair company, Viking should use someone else.

At first, when my Viking range was installed, the installers pushed it too
At first, when my Viking range was installed, the installers pushed it too far back and the cord broke when it got pinched between the gas line and the stove. When I was ready to clean it, the main big oven never shut off. Its like it never got to the heating temperature and it just heated well exceedingly. So it burns up the igniter and some other part because the oven got too hot. I couldnt even touch the stainless steel on top of the stove. Id washed the whole thing like I was supposed to and then Im supposed to run the oven at 450 degrees for an hour to an hour and a half to burn everything out. And I found out that it got so hot and it would work until it melted everything. The Monarch people came and replaced the cord but it still didnt work. So the Viking rep came out, replaced the cord with a Viking approved one and replaced some other parts but it still didnt work. Two weeks ago, he came back out again, replaced some more parts and then ignited it. It didnt work, it didnt shut the heat down and then he started looking at the wiring and he found that the wire that was connected to the knobs was connected to the wire to the griddle and vice versa. So when we turn the oven on, it thought it was heating the griddle but was never getting heated so thats why the oven never shut off. He fixed those two wires that were crossed and then the oven started working again. But that night, we were starting the oven and then the igniter kept shutting itself off. It would try and ignite after five times and then it just quit. So, were still trying to get it fixed and he scheduled to come back again to look at that. This has been going on since the Viking range was delivered to our house. I am nearing two months that weve had the stove and its still not working properly. It seems that even have they not pinched the cord, because of the wiring issues which we didnt know about, the oven would have still done the same thing. It just happened to be something that happened that we thought might have caused the problem while in retrospect, it didnt. When we bought it, it was a floor model and we knew that. However, we did not know at the time, we didnt ask and they didnt disclose, that it was seven years old so, there was no warranty on it. Ive got all the emails from them that states everything theyre saying they asked their Viking reps and Viking is not really standing behind the product because it was a seven-year-old floor model. That would make a big difference in our decision to purchasing. When we bought this stove, we were offered at the time an extended warranty for five years for $400. We thought that its a Viking stove and were paying $8,000 for it. It should have the factory warranty so we chose not to buy the additional warranty. But then, when we started having problems with it right away from day one, I wanted to buy the additional warranty. I asked if it is too late to do it because we were not told that this Viking stove is seven years old and we wanted to protect ourselves. And I found out that they should never have offered us the extended warranty because the stove was over five years old, that it was their mistake to offer us that warranty and that we cannot get any Viking warranty because of the age of the stove. It sounds ridiculous to me because its still a brand new stove. But they have been paying for all the repairs because I went online and I registered the Viking product. They gave me a 90-day warranty for doing that. Im trying to get everything done within this 90 day because after that and if we have issues, I dont know what were gonna do. Im sure that the repair person is in contact with Viking because thats how hes getting paid. So now, my husband and I feel that when it was put together, the manufacturer miss-wired it.Also, I strongly feel that especially because there was manufacturer problem in the range and because it sat for seven years, it would have been a problem they would have had with ranges sold seven years ago. So, personally, I feel like we should have more warranty because I dont know that were gonna have everything that could happen, happen in 90 days. But I told them that Im not paying a dime to repair the stove and if it cant get fixed, then they can take it back and I want my money back.My experience has not been great. I feel like Viking is dropping the ball with standing behind their product as the manufacturer. But I dont know if they know that the wiring issues were their fault. Whoever put the stove together made a mistake. Between the stove and the hood, weve spent $10,000 so were not talking about a $1,500 stove. Ive been very patient, I sent numerous emails and Id let Monarch know what happened and where we stand. Im not happy and I feel like we need to have a warranty. But their stand is they cant offer us any warranty that Viking wont back. All in all, if we can ever get it working properly, we can use the small oven but not the big one. Its my husband and me right now so it hasnt been an issue but if we have a dinner party, it would be. Also, I am a little concerned that Im only getting a 90-day warranty, Im two months into this, I still dont have a working stove and whats gonna happen at the end of the next 30 days because it was faulty wiring which caused all the damage to my stove. The repair guy is out at South Lake Tahoe and I live in Sparks, Nevada so its an hour and 20-minute drive for him. He only goes to the Reno-Sparks area on Thursdays. So hell come out on Thursday and then if there are issues after he leaves, then hes not coming back till the following Thursday. I thought he was gonna come last Thursday and he didnt put me on the schedule. So I have to wait until this Thursday and its eating up my time.I have gotten nowhere because Im always the third party person dealing with Viking. The repair person talked to Viking, Monarch talked to their Viking reps and I havent had anybody from Viking contact me to talk to me about my issues. I told Monarch that if this cant be resolved, Im returning it and I want a full refund. If I have issues, then I will contact the appropriate department. They need to make this right. Im trying to be very reasonable and Im starting to get to the point where Im not gonna be. I am one of those people that try and work with everybody. Things happen and it doesnt do any good to get all upset. Its not the sales persons fault. But Im starting to get to the point where frustration is starting to set in. But we love the range and the parts that are working. We love everything weve used on the stove, the small oven and the broiler.

I had a girlfriend who had a Viking range from years ago and it worked really well for her with no problems. That was encouraging for me. Although Viking started having a lot of issues, it sounded in various sites that I was reading that they had been taken care of so I decided I would go with the company. The sales rep showed us a lot of variety of different brands of stoves. When it came to us looking at the Viking range, he didnt pressure us and he told us to take our time. He just showed us the various features of it. We were pleased and we went back a second time. We were still satisfied with the way he was handling everything. Were really were enjoying our range. Were happy with the intensity of the heat and how it responds. Its such a solid range and its very efficient. It looks good and it feels good to work with it. Also, we got our range at a reduced price as it was on sale. That helped. For what we paid for it and given the quality, it was money well-spent. I looked at other models of stoves and this one seemed superior for the difference in cost.

We researched Viking and Wolf, and we decided to go with Viking. The sales rep at Best Buy kind of talked us into it when we went and started pricing out and looking at all the different merchandise. Then when we heard that we could get a 5% cashback by purchasing them, that was the determining factor. The look of our Viking range is stunning. We love how it cooks everything evenly. We bought the range and we bought the French wall oven. We like both of them. Weve been trying to clean the wall oven and we are a little confused on that because you put water because it’s a steam clean, and it’s just different than what were used to how an oven cleans. My husband put some water in it and then turns it on to self-cleaning. It just didnt clean as much as we thought. We bought the hood, the range, the wall oven, the microwave and we have been waiting six months for a fridge and freezer that we purchased as well. But I left a message this morning because I have not received any of my rebates when I went online and did all that. I called at 9:00 and I chose mountain time because we live in Colorado, and they said that they were closed, but it was almost nine oclock and I havent heard anything back. They have not returned my phone call, too.

Our designer and the manager of the store we went to highly recommended the Viking range. We love its look and the small oven is awesome. My husband is the main cook and he loves how it simmers where you can get it really low and then also for making meatballs. As of this moment, our Viking isnt working properly. Parts are needed and the appliance repair company said that they have been waiting on it for over a month now. But other than that what works is great. The only suggestion I could make is for them to have a childproof type of lock. They got plastic covered knobs but those dont look good. The ones where you can push in and turn would be awesome, but I could not find any.

I have owned Viking for the last 15 years, in 4 different homes. One of my kitchens is a full suite of Viking appliances, with a 48 range oven. In the past 5 years Ive moved three times, and each move I purchased a Viking range, to make me feel like home. Over the course of the last 5 years, I was able to experience the changes, primarily changes to cut costs, but the warranty was 3 years, something that Viking was very proud of. So, I continued to purchase with confidence. In May of 2014, I purchased a range with a 5-year warranty, which remained at my old address. My last range purchase was Oct. 2017, which I believed to have the normal 3-year warranty. I had to change the oven fan last year, which is an ongoing problem with Viking. There are also ongoing issues with their oven doors and grates, which prompted my call to Viking customer service today. I wanted to schedule service for the continuous problem with the fan, the oven door which does not close properly, discoloration on the stainless lip that meets the burners, unsafe oven racks. The customer rep that took my call, was rude and told me my warranty was expired. I told her my range is less than 2 years old. I was shocked when I learned that my warranty was up, and with her rudeness and dismissiveness. She told me that Viking changed the warranty program and that I should read my manual. I then called the company I purchased from and they confirmed the 1-year warranty and that I should have read my warranty before purchase.I feel as though Viking has been dishonest with customers who are repeat customers and familiar with them. There was no way for me to know about this change unless the salesperson made me aware of it, and they may have not known themselves. At the time of this purchase for the range or for any purchase of any appliance, which I have bought my fair share of, I have never been given manuals to read before purchase. Ive always relied on my experience with products, companies and salespeople. This is disappointing as I have nowhere to go and this point, no one ever contacted me with perhaps purchasing an extended warranty either. Im confident that Im not the only consumer whos experienced this surprise in the last 2 years. And Im also confident that customers whove spent well over 30K in repeat business would be treated better than a buyer beware clause.

The builders put Viking in the brand-new house which Ive only had for over two and a half years now. And Ive had trouble with both my refrigerator and my stove. Although, I had Vikings before and the refrigeration was okay parts of it get really, really cold and even the bottom drawer actually freezes things. I was disappointed within a few months after we got it. The dairy product holders were both cracked and when you open the door, all the butter falls out. It took me a very long time to get it fixed because the dealer’s contractor was not responsive. I was informed that the warranty on that was only three months, which I thought was crazy on Viking since a Viking product is so expensive. It took me over a year to get that done and even spent the year leaving messages back and forth and got me assisted for it to be taken care of. I ended up just finding the manufacturer and ordering the part myself. I paid for $370 a piece which I thought wasnt right. I didn’t speak with a Viking customer service but I dealt with Ferguson which was the distributor that sold the Viking to the contractor. The experience was not okay. I had to get really mad and involve the contractor to get it done. The rep felt really bad once I called the contractor in and promised that would never happen again. So, I havent signed with Vikings again. I’ve heard another person in this neighborhood who has Vikings and had the same problem with her dairy product holder.

Weve purchased a whole lot of Viking in our past two houses and Im done. We bought an 8 burner dual fuel range when we remodeled our house. Within one month of when we could start using it, we had problems. In the 3 years since the remodel started, weve had service out a minimum of 10 times and they cant nail down a problem. They suggested keeping a log of issues which we did for a year. Showed dates and issues documenting a routine problem with the temperature not seeming right, uneven heating, self-cleaning doesnt work, pre-heat takes an hour and over fan takes more than an hour to turn off. Fixed several different pieces and STILL have such uneven heating that nearly everything comes out burned on the outer edges before the inner part will be cooked. Forget making a cake. The middle will be raw when the outside is done. Nobody from Viking will help. The regional manager called once while I was at work and wont return any calls after 5 attempts. Clearly just trying to look good on a report, not actually help. What I want to know is what about my written warranty AND the implied warranty of fitness for purpose (i.e., being able to cook things normally) that is supposed to be the law?! Not only will I never buy another Viking product. Im warning everyone I know against it also.

We bought a new construction condo about 11 years ago and the builder put a Viking in there. That was the first Viking we owned. This time, we did our due diligence in looking at some of the other things that were out there. We looked at Wolf, but I liked the simplicity of Viking. We’re also very happy with the quality of the range. My wife does the bulk of the cooking and she really likes the evenness of the heating in the oven. All the burners are like power burners. Most of the stoves out there, you get one that maybe can put out the BTUs. But all the ones, Viking can do.Having now owned our second Viking, it seems, however, like the lighting on the burners is always a little tricky. Lighting the burners, its clicking and it’s not lighting and then I have to turn the knob. We have tenants in the condo that has a Viking and more often than not, especially when they’re new, people have a little issue lighting it and that’s one area that Viking could improve on. We had someone come out with the one in the condo and they said it was the igniter. We replaced that and the unit performed exactly the same way after, so it seems like it’s just the way it works.

We have a Viking stove and an oven as well. Then, we were shopping around for a new stove and we really liked our Viking stove. They stopped selling Viking up here in Canada and when we bought the stove, it was just at the point when Viking lost that trademark. We were looking for a stove that didn’t have a lot of sort of electronics but would be really a good gas stove. It’s an electric oven and that would stand the test of time. The salesperson really highly recommended the stove and she was right. We love it. Then, when it came time to replace our fridge, we just naturally leaned towards looking for a fridge that had the same quality. We were lucked out that the timing was such that they started selling Viking again here in Canada.I love the icemaker that’s in the pullout drawer. We didn’t think we wanted any kind of an icemaker or a water dispenser but this one came with the ice dispenser inside and we love that. We use it all the time. And I love the layout of the drawers on the inside, the flexibility with being able to move the shelves around. I love that the shelves are glass. They’re clear so I can see through into them. Also, there are lots of space in the bottom and there’s like a pullout temperature control drawer that holds lots and lots of fruits and vegetables in there. They’re smartly designed and its a really nice fridge. One thing that would be great would be if it was easier for us to get our hands on the replacement water filters and the air filters. Its a little bit of a challenge. They have to get ordered from the States and then they go to the appliance store. It takes a long time. Other than that, I would highly recommend Viking.

We did an expensive kitchen remodel in 2008, installing a $5000 built-in 36-inch Viking All-Fridge. In these last 5 years weve had nothing but trouble with it, and had to get service men out here numerous times. Often they were not able to fix it. It seems from the other reviews that weve been having the same identical problems with this fridge: 1.The beeper would start beeping at any time while the door was closed - was fixed. 2. The uber-heavy door is sagging to the left - was worked on, but still visibly sagging, so I dont think the fridge closes properly. 3. Ice builds up on the cooling panel behind the top shelf. 4. Water constantly collects on the shelves, dripping everywhere, and everything is wet inside. Have to keep towels on the shelves to keep them as dry as possible. Have to put in dry towels every few days. Have to take out shelves and drawers to dry out, as vegetables etc. will stink and rot when sitting in water all the time. 5. My vegetables freeze in the veggie drawer, and have to be discarded. Cant use the drawers.Numbers 3, 4 and 5 have been ongoing for about a year now. More than one serviceman has tried to fix it, and I have no hope that it will ever change. In the beginning the fridge was under warranty, and the repairs cost nothing. That soon expired, and weve been paying out of pocket for constant repairs to this so-called high-end fridge, which it is not. Our patience is wearing thin. The service people have been very helpful, and really tried their best to solve the problems, phoning Viking, and getting advice from them as to what they should do, but nothing seems to work. We live in Canada, but as Viking has no problem selling their products here, they should also be accountable here when their products dont deliver. This morning, the repairman came out here once again. Viking has told him to install a new gasket, which is the rubber around the door that ensures a tight seal. He did not do it, and told me straight up to cut my losses, get rid of this fridge, and get another one. Easier said than done, because it sits built into a space especially designed for it. So we are pretty much screwed. I asked him to send me a list of all the repairs they had done on this fridge so far, and I will post it here when I receive it.There is no warranty anymore of course, but it would be nice if Viking would acknowledge our very sticky problem, take responsibility, and reimburse us for the price of a second hand fridge. This is the first time in our lives that weve had problems with a fridge, and we sorely regret buying it. We will never buy any Viking product ever again, and will certainly advise everybody else against doing so. Had I known then what I know now, I would never have bought a Viking product. Fortunately my other appliances are not Viking, and none of them has given me any trouble so far.

My cakes come out in a wavy shape because the heat isnt evenly distributed throughout the oven. The oven is so bad now that it cant stay heated; Thanksgiving turkey wouldnt cook because the oven couldnt sustain an even temperature after an hour or so. I tried turning on the convection and the fan wouldnt run. Just put in a pork loin roast, and the oven couldnt maintain its temperature. Another piece of meat destroyed by Viking. Piece of junk for $7,000!!

Wanted a high quality stove top to replace an older GE. Decided on this 5 burner Viking (rvgc3365bss). Performs well but for the cost the SS quality could be better. Biggest problem is keeping it clean. You must clean the stainless every time it is used! If you dont you have a huge problem cleaning it the next day. The quality of the stainless steel finish is very disappointing for this price range.

We bought this unit in 2005 for a new kitchen with all new appliances. My problems with this unit are numerous and varied. At first we noticed that the interior plastic parts, such as drawers broke easily. These are very expensive and there is a real gap between the cost and the apparent value of the parts. Next, mechanical and electrical parts began to break down. We needed a small fan, available online for $8 and that took all of 10 minutes to replace, that cost several hundred dollars. We have had sensors go bad for similar costs to repair, and now the freezer wont get cold enough to allow the ice maker to produce ice. I would never buy from Viking again. Their products are flimsy and delicate despite the high price. I am willing to pay more for quality, but I didnt get that quality at Viking.

I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven about 4 years ago. Since this was for a major renovation to our personal home, we decided on what was easily the most expensive appliances weve ever purchased. I liked that they are American Made, and figured that certainly Viking would stand behind their highest end products, and I wouldnt have to wait weeks for replacement parts from overseas (if I ever needed them). What a BAD DECISON! Since installing the Oven, weve had to pay for replacement of the main circuit board in the oven two times. Now for the Refrigerator: DDSB483DS6. This is the most expensive yet, WORST appliance I have ever purchased. (Im a builder, remodeler, and property manager- so believe me, Ive purchased many refrigerators in my career). The Ice Maker has been replaced twice. The chute where the ice drops from the ice maker to the door does not accept the shape of the ice, so it constantly gets stuck- and definitely DO NOT USE the crushed ice feature as it will freeze and clog this chute! The next hour or so the ice in the chute then melts and drips into the small holding tray which does not drain into the pan below the fridge, so it overflows and runs down the front of the fridge and onto the floor. Further, the pan below the fridge has continuously filled up to overflowing since day 1. To address this we had to create a calendar reminder to empty the pan every 3 days. If not, the water overflows onto the floor!Needless to say, my wood floor in front of the fridge is completely ruined. Over multiple service calls by the Viking Factory recommended repair company(s) to address this, weve purchased a recommended $500 heater element designed to evaporate the water from the pan, and multiple other expensive suggested repairs- all to no effect! It got to the point that I had a drain tube installed from the pan that leads the water outside the house! The latest unpleasant experience began in September 2015. The new Viking repair company (exclusive appliance Svce 770-888-9555- they are awesome!) representative came out, saw the issues and determined that there has been a defective gasket within the door. He explained that this is what has been causing the problems all along. We disconnected the water line to the fridge in order to stop the leaking (therefore, no filtered water or ice since September) while we waited for Viking to provide us with the replacement gasket. Furthermore, this representative made a few calls to Viking on our behalf to explain the cause and ultimate damage caused by this defective part. He took and submitted multiple pictures and written explanation of the damaged floor, and filed a claim on our behalf to have Viking pay to repair the damages. While we waited for the claim to process, the Gasket was finally delivered about 6 weeks later, only to discover that the replacement part was DEFECTIVE as well!! We were then told that the entire manufacturing run of these gaskets are defective, so the new expected delivery date for the new gasket will be 8 weeks later. Ironically, the same day we received this information, the Viking Claims Department contacted me to tell me that Viking had determined that the damage to my floor was not caused by the defective appliance!LONG STORY SHORT, Viking Appliances are the WORST I have ever owned, and even worse, Viking could not care less, and is apparently unwilling to stand behind their products at all. This is the first review I have ever written on a public forum, but if it helps even one person from suffering through this very expensive, horrible experience, then it was well worth my time.

I like the look of the Viking Ranges, the quality of the oven and the electric oven that’s hard to find. We got one that is 36 inches and has six burners. And this feature of the oven is my favorite. It’s a great looking range and of good quality. When we got it, we thought we had one burner that would not light. But I called and they had somebody come out right away and fixed it. It was quick and it was all covered in the warranty so it was nice and easy. The customer service has been great. Overall, I’m happy.

48 Side-by-Side Refrigerator AND VICU165 - 36 wide cooktop - To say Ive been disappointed in Viking products is an understatement. When we began building our house we wanted a great kitchen. We chose Viking professional products. We purchased them about a year or so before we actually installed and moved into our home. Within the first 3 months our water dispenser in the door of the fridge/freezer froze over and completely quit working. We had a repairman come out... it worked for about 3 more months and we have not had water in the door since because we couldnt get anyone out to repair. Within 8 months the drawers in my fridge began cracking... nope, sorry, you have to pay astronomical prices to have those replaced. Within the first 2 years one of the shelves in the door came crashing down when we opened the door. Again, nope, sorry, thats your problem attitude from customer service. Now, our cooktop is horrible. We have the 36 all induction with 6 burners. We NEVER had all 6 working at one time. We call a Viking, get a repairman out... it works for about 2 weeks. Then we are back to 5. Slowly but surely others started going out. We call, we email, we call some more and finally get someone out there. He needs parts. Hes going to order then come back. No, we never hear from him again. We start calling, emailing, calling again. They send another guy out... he needs some parts. Meanwhile, all of this is taking literally years between the calling and emailing. The burners never get fixed. The last time they sent out a repairman, he again did not return. We called again and were greeted with a sorry, your warranty has expired, it will cost you an insane amount to repair. Right now, we are down to 1 burner that sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. I will NEVER purchase Viking again nor will I EVER recommend their products. Pitiful customer service.

We liked the look of the Viking Ranges. We also liked the multiple burners and the size of the double oven. We knew what we wanted as we shopped, and we picked Viking out. Weve had a couple of problems, though, but it is covered by warranty because we built the house. We had to have it completely replaced once, because the main oven door wouldnt close and seal. The original dealer stopped carrying Viking, so we ended up having to get the replacement from another dealer. Because it was an all-new construction, the builder handled finding the other dealer, and he contacted them. They quoted all the same appliances and everything was smooth. The pricing wasn’t any different. It was just a matter of waiting for construction completion, and everything was here when we moved in. It didnt hold up construction. With the replacement, though, the two oven doors dont align. There’s an uneven gap, so it looks like somethings crooked. But theyre coming next week to try to get that fixed. Were hoping that its some adjustment that they can make and not another problem. Another thing is that it has all large burners. Theres nothing smaller for just a small pot to simmer something, so I’m always dealing with a larger wider diameter pot. But it’s a nice product, so far. Theyve been accommodating with the issues that weve had, so I would recommend it.

I am writing to publicly declare I could not be more disappointed in the 4 Viking appliances my family has purchased. I have the 48” duel fuel range in my home. Both ovens are now not working after using the self clean features on both ovens. I am very upset. The fault is with the Viking appliance company. The cost of the repair should not be my burden. I would never recommend this brand to any of my friends. The one positive thing I have to say is that the range is beautiful. My brother’s family have 2 exterior refrigerators and an exterior ice maker both from Viking. Each appliance has required multiple repairs yearly. It is infuriating to spend so much money for a professional brand we trusted, that fails repeatedly. It’s a bitter disappointment to walk outside and not be able to have a cold drink with a glass of ice waiting for you, after investing so much money. Furthermore, the repairs were expensive and repeatedly done by certified Viking repairmen, using Viking parts. The fact that Viking cannot effectively repair their faulty product is pathetic. The Viking company should replace all these appliances free of charge if they are to have any integrity at all.

It was a bit expensive but they have a good reputation among my friends and I just wanted to keep the same brand. The refrigerator is brighter than before and I like when the door close I feel like it’s suctioning the air kind of feeling. But I hope for the shelves to be strong in the future because it’s a little bit weak. Because the refrigerator I had was old with broken shelves I’m very careful when I put too much things on the shelves so I hope it stays well. I liked Vikings reputation for quality, specifically the range. I live in an all-electric home and adding gas would’ve been pricey. I got a high-quality range still within the parameters of my house but purchasing with the Viking dealer was the one bit of a dark spot. Appliances Connection wasnt very good at communicating the timeline for the reception and the arrangement for shipping was not great either. The communication on that was poor. When they finally scheduled the delivery, they told me when it was going to occur and I waited two hours after the fact. I was waiting at our work site since I don’t live where I was renovating. I finally called them to see what was going on. They said that the shipment was delayed and that they weren’t going to deliver it that night. It was 10 p.m. after they told me I had to wait, so that was frustrating. Nonetheless, the range looks incredible and I’m very anxious to test it out in cooking. Also, we liked the color options. It was silly, but it was really nice. We picked the graphite gray and it’s perfect. Although the dealer and the delivery were a little frustrating, everyone was professional when they delivered and they did a really nice job of getting it into the house quickly and safely. They had the tools to do it well.

Im very happy with Viking products. I consider them very good and very well-built. Its very reliable. I had the previous Viking range for eight years and there were no problems at all. Its a very good brand thats why I wanted to have it. However, the process of this particular case of me getting this range on a deal (I found a great deal of a new unpacked range for almost half the price) and the things that followed werent great. I got the range, brought it home, installed it then there were some problems which I reported in my communication with the company. It was quite lengthy to get the proper technician to come and look at it. Theres a whole process that I experienced talking to the company and the company has another company hired for public relations. I got an email from that second company that the issues were being looked at. Then the same second company recommended the local tech but I wasnt happy with the tech that worked initially. The local company that was hired to look at the things that are not functioning reported something that wasnt complete. So, I had to recall the technician and another technician came. They ordered the parts that were malfunctioning and they installed it. The second tech finally solved it but it was about two months of smelling gas and its been quite stressful. The process could be something more straightforward like you talk to the company and get a response from the company. There are no middlemen and no broken chain of relaying the problems that are reported.

If you are considering a Viking appliance RUN away as fast as you can! This is the 3rd built in refrigerator/freezer I’ve had installed and what a nightmare it’s been working with the Viking company! Awful to say the least. This 3rd built in was installed 5 years ago and now both voltage boards have died. The serviceman just told me that one of the boards, the main one that runs everything, is on back order! Oh how I’ve been down this road before with Viking when they installed the 2nd piece of crap that did the exact same thing but only after 2 months of having it installed. It took over 3 months of pulling my hair out before I had a refrigerator/freezer that worked. Because that same board was on back order and they didn’t know when it would be available and because it was under warranty I demanded a new refrigerator/freezer as that’s why a 3rd one was installed. I wrote the company explaining all the problems and grief I went through and asked for an extended warranty. I received a letter from Viking telling how sorry they were about all the problems but SORRY we cannot extend the warranty. I received NO compensation from this ** hole of a company! They truly DON’T care about their customers!!! Run I say, RUN. Can’t wait to see how long it will take before I have a working refrigerator/freezer again!

We bought our Viking range through Best Buy and the customer service was good over there until we started getting the appliances. They said it was like a white glove delivery. They took everything apart and installed it and it wasnt smooth. The fridge door was damaged and they swapped it but it wasnt good. They brought another one and it was exactly the same problem. We had to change it two times. They left that plastic that covered the stainless steel of the fridge. They didnt remove it well so its hard to get it now. Then, the first person that came to install the range said he didnt know how to install a gas range and an electrical oven so he just walked away. The other people that came to install it had the pieces they needed to bring, but they didnt have any other time to come and my husband and I had bought tickets for a concert so my husband had to miss that. I had to go by myself and we lost the money on that. And the guy was saying racist things. Also, the dishwasher came and it was completely destroyed. The door was all bent. We moved into the kitchen without the dishwasher. Then they brought a dishwasher and they installed it bad. They sent us the new people to install it and those people treated me really bad. It was a battle. If Viking has their product represented by Best Buy, it wasnt good and unfortunately, that’s reflected on Vikings product. But when we had a little problem with our range and we had to call Viking for the warranty, which was surprising, they resolved it. They sent a company that will come cover my area and they came after I called. It was relatively fast.

We purchased the large flat top grill... problems with that 2 times. Double ovens... havent had trouble yet, and warmer hasnt had any trouble. The dishwasher isnt even as good as my old Whirlpool... Over 20k in appliances and not even as good as standard crap on the market. Should have gone with Wolf like I originally wanted. The salesman talked me out of Wolf and Subzero for Viking! I have known Viking Ranges for a long time but I never used it. Its high-end, and if you have a Viking in the house, its a good sales point to have. This time, I wanted the best of the best and for the purpose of investment so I bought one. However, the range is not the best as I expected but Im 80% happy about it. It doesnt have timers and setting like all the electronic-oriented, high-tech ranges have these days. Its very simple. Basically, turn the knob on or off. I like it, but more than that, it will help me. I dont have a particularly good eye, and I cannot see if its on or not, so I have to get used to it by feeling the knob. Thats all to it for this range. If you need the fancy features, dont get this one because it doesnt have any. But it does the job right, very straightforward and no frills.I originally purchased this at the local distributor on August 2016. It took three months to deliver through ocean freight because we live in Hawaii. On the day they delivered, the two delivery guys came and unloaded it from the truck. We live two levels up so they had to walk up the stairs. They start to complain about how far up it goes. It is a heavy unit at 400 pounds, so I understood. But at the same time, they said, Oh, there are two dents, one on the front, one on the side. I decided to take it because I thought it could be replaceable parts. But halfway through, two out of the six knobs came off. So, I refused the delivery. The store handled it okay. They gave me the refund which took a while then theyre going to replace the same item order. I made sure this time that the delivery guys did a good job, and they did. The range had no damage cosmetically and the knobs were intact. Its all in good shape. But thats not the end of the story. It finally arrived in the kitchen. But the delivery guys are trucking company people. So, I didnt request for the installation. The power cord needed to be hooked up to the unit because its electric, which I can do. I had the manual, and I was going to follow that. So, I started to open the back-side door to install the cable, but I noticed that its not the same as the picture in the manual. I called Viking and they sent one of the local repair companies to check it. It was the manufacturers mistake to mount the parts completely the wrong way.The repairman was professional, so he dismantled the whole power cable inside the unit, which I have no way to do. They fixed it and Viking was good about it. I didnt have to pay for that. But theres one other problem. The range is square and there are four legs. But the product they delivered had only three. They sent me the leg but on a different day. Im not that young anymore and I cannot move a 400-pound range by myself, lift it up and then install the legs. Its very dangerous and its not easy. So, I called Viking again and they understood the situation. They asked me to contact the same people who installed the cable but they said they will not come to install one leg. I said, The job was not completed. But they never got back to me--very rude voice and he sounded crazy. Im a customer. Why do I have to be accused like that? So, I called back Viking. I wanted somebody else to get sent over. I know its small job but its impossible to install it, and I was ready to pay for it. A very nice guy came over and did a five-minute work. He knew what to do. He installed it and I didnt have to pay for it. The range is working and doesnt have a problem. Viking is a great name and has good quality but getting it in the kitchen was just terrible. I understand Viking made a mistake and they handled this situation generously. But the experience of the whole purchase was a disaster. If I have a choice again, Im not going to buy Viking again ever. This is the last.

I had it worked on several times in the beginning. If I had it to do over I would have forced the guy to make it right but we built our home and I had a million things to address. We moved in a brand new building and a Viking range came with our place. Its brand new and it seems to be of good quality, but it seems to take a very long time to pre-heat the oven and were not sure if thats normal. Its certainly not the case in my older cooktop. Well call consumer department and see what they say. On the stove part, I have to make coffee and I set down a diffuser because the openings on this grate are too large to hold my little Bialetti coffeemaker. It works much better than when I put it directly on the burner like I do at home, which is also a Viking, so we like that. We also have a refrigerator, a range, a dishwasher and a fan vent that are all Viking. I had some problem, called the dealer and they were not helpful at all.

I’ve seen Vikings advertisements in home building magazines and I went with them because of the expected quality. The stove and the microwave-convection oven were delivered dead on arrival, and it’s now six weeks so Viking’s trying to figure out if they’re gonna replace them or not. They’ve had three technicians out and I have not heard back in two weeks despite repeated follow-up attempts. The interactions are fine, but all the parts unfortunately are on backorder and are parts that they don’t stock. And there’s no definitive timeline for when the parts will be in stock. Every time I call the call center, they say I’m supposed to expect a call from a director or BT level that can make that decision. And they keep passing along the message, but I do not get a call back. I spent a ton of money on these appliances and it’s very unfortunate that the service and quality aren’t there based on my experience so far.

I remodeled my kitchen in 2018 and purchased all Viking appliances. Less than 2 years later I already have problems with the dishwasher (the detergent door doesnt open during the wash cycle), the freezer stopped making ice and the door to my steam oven spontaneously shattered when I opened it. I know this sounds crazy but it is absolutely true. I was opening the door, heard a pop and all of a sudden the glass started shattering. When I contacted Viking I was told my appliances were out of warranty. They only warranty them a year but who expects these expensive, high end appliances to start having problems so soon? My old (non-high end) appliances lasted 20 years! I never once had a problem. Whats most upsetting is Vikings attitude. I thought I was purchasing high quality appliances from a reputable company but thats not the way I feel anymore. Their customer service is terrible. They are slow to respond to emails and phone calls and truly dont seem interested in helping their customers or standing by their product.I had one service company they recommended come and leave with out fixing anything. The service tech said I should just put the detergent pod in the utensil holder and he glanced at the ice maker, said there was an ice cube stuck and declared it fixed. So here I am, a month later with nothing resolved. My biggest regret is not researching. Before you buy: research, get recommendations from friends, visit different appliance stores and talk to the sales people. And read reviews on web sites other than the brands site. I noticed Viking has no negative reviews on their site.

The control knobs and everything are really sharp looking.I would buy a Viking product again. However, I did not have good experiences with the dealers. I had been trying to buy a Viking range at least two months before I actually got to purchase it because I was already a Viking customer. Every place I went to said they were not doing Viking anymore. They said they were phasing it out. So, I was just kind of laid back and waited, and then I contacted Viking directly and tried to get information on my own. I finally went to Nebraska Furniture Mart, and they had given me the runaround the first time. The next time we went, I found somebody that would sell it to us, but they didn’t have much in stock. I love my stove. I had to get used to it because of the temperature variation from my old stove to this Viking stove. But I love the style of the stove and the self-cleaning elements of it. I love that it’s lifted from the floor that you can sweep underneath. I also love that it heats up quickly. I love, love, love that it’s stainless steel and you can wipe it down polished easily. Im very satisfied with my stove. I have two issues with my stove. One issue is that my kickplate was dented a little bit when they delivered the stove. So I went back to the store and they said that the company was going to call me because they thought they had the kickplates in storage. But then nobody has contacted me yet. The dent is not noticeable. But when I spend that kind of money for an appliance, I want to make sure that theres no dents anywhere. I got the stove delivered in December and it’s April. I know there was a backlog on them, so I was giving them the opportunity to catch up in the backlog and the whole bit, but this has a been a bit long. The other issue is that the knob on the right gets stuck sometimes and it doesnt turn on or off. You cant do anything with it. If I give it a hard turn, then it will go up or down. You dont want anybody that doesnt know the stove doing that. So this developed within the last two weeks and I have to call them in for that.

We needed a new fridge, and we heard that Viking was a good model, so we decided to buy it. But ever since we’ve had it, it has been giving us nothing but a problem. We’re working with Best Buy to have it replaced as soon as they can get us a different model or unit, not even Viking. The compressor seems to be humming a lot louder and unusually higher. So it’s this annoying, high-pitched hum that we constantly hear. Also, the alignment of the bottom freezer drawer is a bit off. They tried to replace it with different Viking units from different warehouses, but all of the refrigerators had the exact same problem. So we did not go with a replacement, and we came to a mutual decision that we’re gonna have the Viking taken back by Best Buy and have it replaced by a completely different brand. We got the 36-inch freestanding unit and it is absolutely not one I would recommend. Best Buy asked us to reach out to the manufacturer directly, and they came over and saw the unit, and they didn’t really do anything. Use of 48 inch range - The Cobalt blue range is beautiful. The burners and oven works very well. Two flaws (1) the large oven has three racks with only one that completely pulls out making it difficult to clean the back of the other two. Cooking a large turkey looks to be a problem. (2) The all gas range does not have a self cleaning option. We smell gas for a few minutes when the oven is turned on.

We’re on our second Viking refrigerator because the first one failed after approximately eight years. The newer refrigerator which we got last year is operating great. It has not had the same problems at this point but having to replace a Viking after eight years, Ive never had that kind of circumstance with any other refrigerator brand. There are some parts that get frozen then they start to melt and leak in the refrigerator. They dont go out to the drain. There is this freezing thawing process that is part of the regular refrigeration process but the pathway for the melting gets blocked up. It gets frozen too so the water accumulates in the bottom of the refrigerator. That had happened a couple of times.Ive had problems with a variety of Viking products from double ovens to the refrigerators. I have two homes and I have full suites of Viking appliances in both kitchens. I’ve not been thrilled with them. Viking is overrated. They have a cachet but their performance and reliability do not live up to that cachet. There are lesser prestige brands that perform better than Viking.

The freezer part on our Viking was working fine but the refrigerator part has got a sensor that is not working and we’re having our third service call on it today. We’ve only lived in this house for a month. Viking’s customer service has been okay but they are in Mississippi and it is another one of these 30-minute phone calls. The service people are actually not Viking employees. They are a contracted company and they have been very good. They diagnosed it the first time, had to order a part, put it in and it is still doing it, so they are coming back today to see if they can fix it. I got the impression from the service people that there was a known problem with this fridge because when they called, they said that their tech support people knew what it was right off the bat. So Viking might have a problem they need to fix. Viking is suboptimal.

My refrigerator freezer was delivered defective. I just got a replacement but I am still waiting on parts for it to be adjusted by the repair guy. I had to argue with people at Viking for two to three months for me to say Im not taking this refrigerator because its cracked in one of inside framing. The local, regional manager wanted me to caulk it to fix the whole thing. But I said, Look, I paid $14000 for this freezer refrigerator. Im not doing that. After three months of just saying no, Im thankful that I finally got it. Its been frustrating and I hope I can get my part and stuff soon.

People say that Viking Ranges have good stoves and cooktops. Id say its high quality and Im happy so far. The simmer feature is nice, it heats up very quickly. One thing that Im not satisfied about is that I dont have that option of a griller anymore. Now its just a griddle, and I dont like it. But, beyond that, performance and everything else, Im very happy.

I have the old Viking Professional series range and I really like that the oven is hot and the burner is very strong. I also use the broiler a lot for cooking. The power of the stove is very important to me. I changed the old one because the fire doesnt start anymore. I chose a different series since I wanted to have a five-burner, however, it is not as good as the old one. I cant believe Viking used rubber for some of the parts and it melted and fell off, even though its only been two months. I called the dealer and they ordered the parts for me. Hopefully, it will go back in. Right now, the grate wobbles since theres no rubber underneath to prevent it from scratching. The materials used for making the grate is cast-iron material which is very hard to clean. Anything that touches it leaves marks. Also, after cooking, theres a fan to cool off, but it goes on for a very long time. Next is that the oven takes much longer to cook. If Im making a chicken for one hour, I have to add 10 more minutes and it doesnt reach the temperature that it promised. Another is the knobs. Theyre metal so they turn very hot and burn me. Also, the print for the temperature and the off and on came off from the rubber. I have had the old range for 10 years, but I have never seen such bad quality printing. It doesnt look like it has been properly done. Hopefully, these knobs will last better. There are a lot of flaws with this series and since its a stove, I cant return it. But if people are looking for temperature similar to a strong fire on a stove, then this Viking range is good.

We bought our range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator from Viking. Im not too happy with the refrigerator as weve had an issue from the very beginning when wherein we would get constant beeping. It gives an FR2 error code and beeps and beeps. We close and open it but its constant. Plus, the refrigerator is deceiving as its really big but kinda small on the inside. So, it doesnt fit a lot of things. It doesnt give me water either. We also had an issue with our range. Still, Viking fixed that quickly. The purchase process for my refrigerator was fine and the delivery went okay. Its a nice looking refrigerator.

We wanted a Viking Refrigerator, design and character-wise for the house. As of now, the refrigerator portion is working. The freezer is intermittent and the icemaker does not work at all. It was a brand-new fridge that stopped working after a couple of weeks. Weve contacted them and they scheduled a third-party to come. We had to wait a couple of weeks before they were able to come out and look at it. The guy comes out and confirms that the fridge doesnt work. He wasnt sure what was wrong and had to order some parts. Weeks and weeks and weeks went by and they are still not scheduled to come back to install what they ordered. Plus, the dealer was horrible.

I went to a place called Ferguson which is like a home builder showroom and I looked at all the different refrigerators. I liked the interior of Viking the most, and the way it looked and the way that it was organized inside very much. That was the deal that sold it. However, when the refrigerator was delivered, they must have dropped it which caused a series of things to go wrong with it. It was replaced right away and we’ve had the one that we have now for two months. It’s working fantastic. I love the layout and the drawers for the meat, cheese and vegetables. It’s so easy to use and I also like the door where you can put a variety of things. The first time, I talked to the dealer when I registered my product and the second time, since I had an account already, I logged on to that account and registered the second one. We dealt with a third party that was the repair person for Viking and they were very good. They came in from Austin to work on ours. We have the dishwasher too which was a bonus when we bought our refrigerator. I didn’t care for it at all at first because it was very different from an American dishwasher where it dries everything completely because it’s eco-friendly but I understand now how it works. So, Im really enjoying that too and I love it.

I truly love my Viking range. I got it for less than half price, so I was happy. It was a floor model, an upgrade for a good price for what I was planning on getting for our kitchen, and it looks awesome. I use it a lot. I just wish it had a lower blow. It is kind of thermonuclear sometimes. Also, I wish that the oven would heat up a little faster. It seems to take longer than the range we had before, which was a much lower end. Other than that, it is all good. I would totally tell people to go for Viking.

I replaced the range I had and bought two Viking Ranges. It was attractive and it was exactly what I was looking for. Their reps were very nice and accommodating and Im completely satisfied with the quality of their product. However, Ive had a lot of things going on so I havent used them that much. I may have used the oven once and the burners, half a dozen times on one of them and I havent even used the other one at all, which is in my lower level kitchen. Also, there was no timer built into the stove or the range at all so I didn’t have anywhere to give timed cooking. I didn’t think about it when I got it and I guess its part of the professional type atmosphere or professional type product they were trying to portray. But the features I like the best right now is the knobs, the way the knobs feel. That was one of the reasons I didn’t like my previous range. Moreover, the wrap on the stove for shipping was so difficult to remove. The delivery team wanted to get it in and get out of there and deliver. I couldn’t let them bring it in and set it where it belongs until I had all that plastic off. I had to pay the two drivers to help me get the stuff off. I could have never done it myself. And even when it was over with I still felt like I could see remnants of it in the corners and where the metal meets the metal. And then inside the range, they used white tape on the bar of the racks on either side so that they won’t move under shipment. I was sweating on the floor trying to get that tape off of there. Maybe they can use a zip tie or something that you could just cut with the scissors. I sell expensive merchandise and one of the things that is required of us is that we contact the customers within a couple of days to see how they are enjoying their new product. It has been a month since I got the stuff so I was wondering if they were ever gonna contact me. I did go right online and registered them right away on their website because I felt that was important that they have that registration. So, I was surprised that I never got anything, even a thank you letter in the mail, not that I needed it. But to me, that was something I thought a company like that would do for when youre buying a high line product like that. Many companies send thank you notes when you do business with them for the smallest things much less a major purchase like this. I wasn’t expecting they send me a dozen roses, but I was expecting something. Nonetheless, its a good product and Im very happy with it. That wouldn’t make me not buy another one.

Our Viking Microwave that we purchased 2008 has blown a hole in the bottom
Our Viking Microwave that we purchased 2008 has blown a hole in the bottom of the microwave. I contacted three representatives from Viking, including the West Coast Office president, Bob Woods, who could not help us. We took numerous pictures and e-mailed them to him. He then talked with their engineers who had no idea what happened. This is supposed to be a top of the line product. I am extremely frustrated that I have been given the runaround with no answers. Our appliance repairman (Executive Appliance) said he has never seen anything like this, as the bottom of the microwave is metal. My husband and I live alone and are in our late 50s and do not put anything exotic in the microwave, so this is not an issue. PLEASE HELP!

In 2007, when we had our hood installed, we thought the contractor installed it wrong because we could not get the waffle plates out to clean. A service technician was ready willing and able to come and take the whole thing apart, but thank God I also called another technician who came first and said that the motor was installed correctly but that there was something wrong with the design and the filters were not able to come out. I called Viking and they sent one of their technicians. This guy sat on the stove and told me to look carefully. He said, You have to punch in this side while pulling down and shake it around a lot.Needless to say, that idiot was out of my home in a flash. I had not yet paid for all of our appliances with the retailer: Viking 6-burner stove, two Bosch dishwashers, one Subzero fridge, one Subzero freezer, etc. A big bill. Eventually, a Viking big shot came to our home and redesigned pieces so that the filters could drop out easily. Customer service on the phone had asked me why I needed to take the filters out so often. Hello? I cook. Hate Viking. Today, June 5, 2013, the hood which has been turning on its own for a month with minimum heat blew. Wish me luck. Have to make one of many calls. Oh, and the burners in the oven had been replaced 3 years ago and I was told that I use my oven a lot, NOT. The burners cost over $1,000 to replace. Hate Viking.

We bought a home with an Italian Fhiaba refrigerator. We had a lot of problems with it and we had to replace it. It cannot be repaired and we only had a certain amount of money that the manufacturer had given us to purchase another refrigerator. The Viking was on sale and thats why I purchased it. It was not my first choice though. The drawers for produce, meats and cheese storage bins are so cheap and I was shocked at the interior for a Viking product. I was sad to lose my Italian refrigerator which was well-made and had beautiful interiors. I would not have bought the Viking refrigerator but it was at the right price, so I ended up with it. But would I buy another one? Absolutely not. We purchased a completely renovated home, and all the appliances were Vikings. The six-burner gas stove and the microwave are all okay, and they work great. But I would not recommend the refrigerator. When I knew I had to replace my previous refrigerator, I went onto several websites to read reviews, and very few of them were good. But my husband wasnt going to spend more money because we bought a house with a $10,000 refrigerator that ended up not working after two years. Even the plastic inside of a Sears Kenmore refrigerator is better. Viking has these soft close drawers for cheese and veggies, which are awful. I have to treat them with kid gloves, because Im afraid theyre going to break on me at any given moment. The company that owns Viking make commercial grade refrigerators and U-Line is one of their products. Its an amazing refrigerator. Why dont they use some of the same materials? Viking has been synonymous with high-end quality. But they really fell short on this one. Looks good on the outside, poor quality on the inside.

When we decided to purchase a new fridge, there were only a couple of choices - GE, Sub-zero and Viking, so I went with the better choice. We also got a Viking dishwasher, stove and hood, and so far, they have been okay. But we had a problem with the freezer down below. Someone came and fixed it, but it took a long time. Other than that, its still in good shape and its doors are nice. Ive had other brands and the Vikings quality seems okay. I wouldve preferred to have a mostly full refrigerator and a small freezer, and didnt wanna have one with a freezer below because the ice maker was also below, and I dont freeze a lot of stuff. But this particular Viking fridge came like that.

We had to replace our former slide-in in a rush because we were expecting holiday cooking soon. We purchased a Viking D3 after glowing reviews by our saleswoman. But the D3 has never worked right including a month after we purchased it. We had to cook the holiday turkey in the microwave, one part of the bird at a time. After contacting Viking, they sent out a certified repairman who had to order a part from Viking to make the oven usable. That took two weeks. From then on, the temps seemed to be accurate (we had to buy a hanging oven thermometer to tell), but the oven took forever to heat up. Even then, we couldnt cook anything then or now other than one item at a time and have it cook in the desired time. There are three racks in the oven... the instructions even show and explain how to cook using the three racks at once. However, the oven temps will not support using all three racks. We are also dissatisfied with the five upper burners. The center burner can only be used if the cooking pot/skillet is smaller than the large burner size indicates IF you are trying to use the other four surrounding burners simultaneously. You either use the four outside burners OR you use the large center one, but not all five at once due to size of the cooking containers. I am so disappointed. I wish I had purchased a low-end quality stove. This one sure isnt it. DO NOT BUY A VIKING APPLIANCE!!!!!

I always wanted Viking appliances. I love to cook, so it is a brand that was instilled in me that is quality and a professional kitchen. Initially, I should have looked. I went to Best Buy to look at them, but I ordered these online, and I never really tested them out. I like certain things that I bought, but there were certain things I don’t like. I like the refrigerator because it’s large. But I’ve seen others that the inside interiors are better made, more stylish, and the placement of the shelves are a lot more intuitive than the Viking. The doors and the bins are fine. It’s just the placement of them is not as functional as we thought it would be. We like the soft-close doors but we didn’t expect it to be so small inside being a 48-inch. We thought it’d be a lot larger because we had other appliances like LG or Samsung, and those were standard-sized, and they seemed to have more space. I like the Viking because of the aesthetics. It’s a beautiful refrigerator. But in terms of functionality, it’s just plain-Jane. It’s a $10,000 fridge so I was expecting more. It’s a 48-inch refrigerator, and its freezer is tiny, unfortunately.

I am a builder in the Vail/Beaver Creek area in Colorado. One of the most expensive real estate markets in the country. Over the years Ive used many Viking products. In June my Viking ovens electrical control panel failed. The service rep contacted Viking and was told what part to order which turned out to be a metal cover, not the electrical panel. The electrical panel had to be special ordered and cost over $1200. When it arrived it didnt work and the rep was told to order another. We have had no oven for over 4 months. I have had a Series 3 gas range for less than 2 years & have had nothing but problems with the oven. When I first got it, it sounded like it was sucking air. The temp is always 25-50 degrees lower than the temp dial indicated. I ran the self-clean cycle twice & both times the door wouldnt unlock after the oven cooled down. I have had parts replaced multiple times. Most recently the main control panel was replaced so I figured all would work fine but it is worse than before. Now the oven lights, the fan comes on, the light to indicate the clean cycle is finished comes on (I wasnt running a clean cycle), the fan turns off & the oven shuts off so now I have no functioning oven at all. When I called for service it would take at least 10 days for the tech to come out... Guess they only have 1 service guy. Finally heard from Viking who said they will replace my range but the replacement range is a downgrade (does not have the self-clean feature). That is not acceptable so theyll give me store credit. The dealer has nothing available in black, w/ self-clean option in the same price range as the Viking. So if I get a different brand & dont use all of the store credit, I forfeit the unused amount. That is not acceptable. The dealer has an I dont care attitude.I have told both the dealer & Viking that at this point I will only be happy with a refund. Talked to Lindy at Viking on 10/24 & had no response w/in 24 hours so called again on 10/26. Got the impression she had done nothing about my request. She told me shed call me on 10/27 in the morning but I have had no call back. I called Viking & was told a VP has to review and they will get back to me hopefully within the hour or tomorrow morning. Unbelievable that a company with their reputation would be so difficult to work with. Their product stinks! Their response time stinks! Their attitude stinks! I will never recommend Viking to anybody.

We had Sub-Zero in our previous house and we were thinking about buying Sub-Zero again but Viking had a promotion, which was if you bought so many appliances, for every dollar over $10,000 that you spent, you get a 10% rebate. It pushed the cost in our favor so we got their unit. The first fridge that they sent had some damages on it and was making a loud noise. The damages were in the white parts on the inside of the unit, and it was something they could not repair. ApppliancesConnection.com, the place where I bought the unit, asked me to send pictures, and I did all that. Then, they sorted all that to the Viking rep. Viking made me an offer, but it was not a large enough discount to make me want and take it. I told them that if they want to make a more substantial financial offer, I would consider taking the damaged one. However, they never got back to me. I had to chase them down for weeks. I called again and again and they told me that the woman who was working on it doesnt do that anymore. Finally, I was like, “You know what, forget it, I’m not taking the offer. Just come out and replace it.” So they came out and took care of its replacement and the new one they sent has been fantastic. Overall, Im satisfied with my experience. Everything got handled pretty quickly and got fixed. However, if there was any way that Vikings could make a refrigerator that has filtered water, that would be a bonus. That was the only feature that we could not get in the Viking fridge and we really miss having it.
