We have a relatively new Viking wall oven that smokes terribly. We have used self-cleaning and then wiped out the residue, and it smokes terribly on the next use. Were not talking cooking odor; we get smoke so thick and fast that our fire alarm (not just smoke alarms) goes off and we are called by the monitoring company. Weve had Miele wall ovens in other houses with none of this trouble at all. The Viking is poorly designed in some manner. Maybe it greatly overheats, but there is no way to tell because there is no temperature gauge and no reliable indication (other than a flaky and useless light) that the oven is maintaining the set temperature. Unless Viking can fix or replace this terrible appliance, we are going to get rid of it and never buy Viking again.

Faulty control board on Series 325 dishwasher. Two year old unit was no longer under warranty of course. No help whatsoever from Viking. Replacement Viking control board costs 4 times a Whirlpool board. Nothing special about Viking model other than the name. I will never buy another Viking appliance.

In 2007, when we had our hood installed, we thought the contractor installed it wrong because we could not get the waffle plates out to clean. A service technician was ready willing and able to come and take the whole thing apart, but thank God I also called another technician who came first and said that the motor was installed correctly but that there was something wrong with the design and the filters were not able to come out. I called Viking and they sent one of their technicians. This guy sat on the stove and told me to look carefully. He said, You have to punch in this side while pulling down and shake it around a lot.Needless to say, that idiot was out of my home in a flash. I had not yet paid for all of our appliances with the retailer: Viking 6-burner stove, two Bosch dishwashers, one Subzero fridge, one Subzero freezer, etc. A big bill. Eventually, a Viking big shot came to our home and redesigned pieces so that the filters could drop out easily. Customer service on the phone had asked me why I needed to take the filters out so often. Hello? I cook. Hate Viking. Today, June 5, 2013, the hood which has been turning on its own for a month with minimum heat blew. Wish me luck. Have to make one of many calls. Oh, and the burners in the oven had been replaced 3 years ago and I was told that I use my oven a lot, NOT. The burners cost over $1,000 to replace. Hate Viking.

I’m in the food business and all of my big appliances in my stores are Viking. I heard about them from PC Richard, and the quality of their range is good. The microwaves blower, however, does not have enough power to it, so it brings the smoke out when you are cooking around the house. It does not have the exhaust. Its not that great. Nevertheless, the Viking range, even at home, cooks food better.

The quality of our Viking Refrigerator is not up to par. There are trim pieces that are exposed. You can see the white plastic trim pieces on the inside of the full-sized freezer and the full-size two refrigerators. One of the under-counter refrigerators in the master bedroom has been making a rattling noise ever since weve received it. I dont expect to deal with those issues when weve spent nearly $100,000 on appliances. We ordered our appliances through Winsupply and they sent out a license authorized service repair person. He relayed to us the message from Viking that the refrigerators and freezers we got were within their variants of production. Were used to using other appliance brands and they will never say that that is an acceptable variant. Our induction cooktop didnt work when we first got it and we had multiple trouble calls. They said they had to make a new part. Every month, they would call us and tell us that it was backlogged another month, and theyd push it out another month. It took them four months before the Viking representative finally called us and said that they would just replace it. They should have just replaced it brand new upfront when it wasnt working. We still dont have an industrial cooktop that works.

We liked Vikings name recognition and aesthetics. I feel good about the quality of the range that we got. The installer commented that it was the heaviest range of that size he had ever tried to lift in his life. And he’s been installing high-end appliances for 15 years. Weight is a good indication of quality to me. You can typically look at the weight of something and figure out whether it’s made well or not. I also liked that we could get the Viking range in a custom color because my wife wanted a black one. We had to wait a couple of extra months for Viking to build that one. Having the dual fuel, which is the gas range and the electric oven, is good too.We got our Viking range at Bob Wallace Appliance in Huntsville, Alabama. They were really good and I would definitely recommend them. I picked out the range online, talked with the salesperson, ordered it over the phone, and had it delivered to my house. The whole thing from step one to the final step was done without me ever stepping foot in the store.I know that Viking and other high-end brands like this have like a no discount policy. But we were able to take advantage of a sale going on to where when we bought the range, we got a free Viking dishwasher with it. Also, one of the things that I wanted, we were going from a electric stove to a gas stove and I wanted a vent hood. And as part of that Viking promotion, we could pick a microwave or a dishwasher. In the future, they could add to the list of free products that one could get. I would’ve taken a free vent hood even though it’s less expensive than a dishwasher because I didn’t need a new dishwasher. I just got it anyways because it was free. The promotions like that are really good and as far as the stove, everything works perfectly right now.

Ive always wanted Viking appliances and I got a really good deal. I did it through AJ Madison. It was a package, so I got the fridge, the range, the hood, and the dishwasher. The range is beautiful. I havent gotten to using it, but Im very excited. I love everything. It really fits my house. It looks like everything is really good quality. AJ Madison was pretty good on the Viking products. However, they had a convicted felon deliver my products and steal my stove. AJ Madison and the freight company they subcontracted out to didnt do background checks and they hired a felon. He unloaded my stove before he delivered it to my house and tried to tell me that he delivered it and didnt know where it went. But AJ Madison made it right.

I replaced the range I had and bought two Viking Ranges. It was attractive
I replaced the range I had and bought two Viking Ranges. It was attractive and it was exactly what I was looking for. Their reps were very nice and accommodating and Im completely satisfied with the quality of their product. However, Ive had a lot of things going on so I havent used them that much. I may have used the oven once and the burners, half a dozen times on one of them and I havent even used the other one at all, which is in my lower level kitchen. Also, there was no timer built into the stove or the range at all so I didn’t have anywhere to give timed cooking. I didn’t think about it when I got it and I guess its part of the professional type atmosphere or professional type product they were trying to portray. But the features I like the best right now is the knobs, the way the knobs feel. That was one of the reasons I didn’t like my previous range. Moreover, the wrap on the stove for shipping was so difficult to remove. The delivery team wanted to get it in and get out of there and deliver. I couldn’t let them bring it in and set it where it belongs until I had all that plastic off. I had to pay the two drivers to help me get the stuff off. I could have never done it myself. And even when it was over with I still felt like I could see remnants of it in the corners and where the metal meets the metal. And then inside the range, they used white tape on the bar of the racks on either side so that they won’t move under shipment. I was sweating on the floor trying to get that tape off of there. Maybe they can use a zip tie or something that you could just cut with the scissors. I sell expensive merchandise and one of the things that is required of us is that we contact the customers within a couple of days to see how they are enjoying their new product. It has been a month since I got the stuff so I was wondering if they were ever gonna contact me. I did go right online and registered them right away on their website because I felt that was important that they have that registration. So, I was surprised that I never got anything, even a thank you letter in the mail, not that I needed it. But to me, that was something I thought a company like that would do for when youre buying a high line product like that. Many companies send thank you notes when you do business with them for the smallest things much less a major purchase like this. I wasn’t expecting they send me a dozen roses, but I was expecting something. Nonetheless, its a good product and Im very happy with it. That wouldn’t make me not buy another one.

We moved into our new house in 2006, which was custom-built with all-new Viking appliances, except for the dishwasher. We have had nothing but problems with all of the Viking products. The microwave has been repaired at least 4-5 times. Problems with the microwave are mainly due to faulty door hinges or faulty door latches that melt over time. The oven has had the digital circuit board replaced twice, and the door hinges, as well. The circuit board was replaced once under warranty; the second time not so lucky: we were out of warranty. The refrigerator has been the biggest problem. It is the 36 refrigerator, built in with side-by-side freezer/refrigerator design. The seal around the entire unit has cracked, and to repair it would mean taking apart the entire door. The ice maker continually fails with ice melting altogether, so you have to reach inside and get ice, but the ice container has cracked, making it difficult to pull the bin out. I should mention that the ice bin, which includes the metal coil to push the ice out, is $462. However, at the time, we may have to junk the whole refrigerator since it just went out for the 2nd time last weekend. The freezer is working but the refrigeration side is not.

I’ve had previous experience with Viking and I know its quality so I chose it over others. I like that the Viking refrigerator has more space but I had to return the original one that I purchased and get the same model. Its got an error code and it stopped cooling. It was still within the 14-day window that they gave me so I chose to replace it rather than repair. I had a great purchasing experience with the team at Pacific Sales. However, when the delivery was supposed to take place with the first refrigerator, there was a reschedule. And I was not notified promptly. So, I had to make arrangements and then cancel them. With the second delivery, with the replacement unit, the same thing happened. I know they subcontract the delivery and it wasn’t a very positive experience. I was just trying to work something out with the salesperson because this was a big hassle - from the delivery, to the unit breaking down, to all that. So, he tried to do the best, gave us a gift certificate for $50, but we were not very encouraged. One mistake is fine, but twice and then a bad refrigerator. But there are always bad apples. So, Im not judging the whole line because of one unit. It’s got a simple design and I still find it reliable.

Our Viking Refrigerator was already in the house that we purchased. It is somewhat inferior. Viking has been a continued problem for us, doesnt seem to be of the same quality as the range as well as the sub-zero refrigerator. If I were to replace that tomorrow, I would replace it with something else. The people Ive talked to, both the corporate and local locations, have been extremely helpful. But before that, the person I interacted with at the Mesa, Arizona location was not good at all. Im very dissatisfied and it was an inferior experience with them.

In my last home that I built, we put a Viking range and a hood in it. I did research on it at the time and it was one of the highest rated in Consumer Reports. From experience with it before, I went to purchase another one when I redid my new kitchen. Everything’s been fine with it and I’ve been very pleased. I love everything about the range except two things. The first is the old stove I had had individual grates for each burner and I miss that. With this one, I have a five-burner stove and its got three grates. I would prefer to have each burner have their own grate. Its easier for me when Im cleaning it to be able to lift one of the grates to wipe out the area which needs to be wiped down. The second issue is the knobs. There should be a safety locking device on it for children.

The builders put Viking in the brand-new house which Ive only had for over two and a half years now. And Ive had trouble with both my refrigerator and my stove. Although, I had Vikings before and the refrigeration was okay parts of it get really, really cold and even the bottom drawer actually freezes things. I was disappointed within a few months after we got it. The dairy product holders were both cracked and when you open the door, all the butter falls out. It took me a very long time to get it fixed because the dealer’s contractor was not responsive. I was informed that the warranty on that was only three months, which I thought was crazy on Viking since a Viking product is so expensive. It took me over a year to get that done and even spent the year leaving messages back and forth and got me assisted for it to be taken care of. I ended up just finding the manufacturer and ordering the part myself. I paid for $370 a piece which I thought wasnt right. I didn’t speak with a Viking customer service but I dealt with Ferguson which was the distributor that sold the Viking to the contractor. The experience was not okay. I had to get really mad and involve the contractor to get it done. The rep felt really bad once I called the contractor in and promised that would never happen again. So, I havent signed with Vikings again. I’ve heard another person in this neighborhood who has Vikings and had the same problem with her dairy product holder.

We purchased an expensive free standing gas range, model VGCC530-4BSS, because we were tired of having to fix our old electric range. From day one the front knobs got hot when the oven was on for a long period of time. We never really thought too much of it until just recently when the oven would quit working after being on for a while, for example, when cooking a turkey etc. Through my own investigation, along with limited help from Viking I figured out that the oven door doesnt seal at the top. There isnt an adjustment to rectify this problem. Viking suggested new hinges, at the bargain price of $120 each, which I fail to see making any difference as this has been an issue from day one. Not to mention I removed the door, inspected the hinges and could not find anything wrong with them. I strongly feel that the only solution to this problem is to buy a new stove, one that doesnt have the Viking label on the front. This will be our first and last Viking product EVER!

I spend nearly $12,000 in a complete new Viking set (Range, Fridge, Dishwasher and hood). In less than 2 years the technician has come to my house 3 times. The oven didnt self regulate and eventually the thermostat had to be replaced. The digital display on the dishwasher looks like it is in Japanese and the freezer drawer in the fridge needs to be adjusted every 2 weeks. It is a weekend home so you can imagine how much use it got since it was installed. I am being told that all labor is on me. Their customer support was courteous, but denied point black any responsibility. If you buy it, is just for the looks. The quality is certainly not there! My wife liked Viking Ranges because of its quality. The last couple of ranges that we bought were not Viking and we didn’t like them. We bought our Viking Range through a retailer in Tupelo. We’re happy with it but we have an issue with condensation coming from underneath when we’re running the oven. We paid extra for this trim piece on the bottom that goes on the front so things wouldnt go up underneath the stove. Then the hot air coming from the oven is causing that water to condensate and drip out. Also, the fan is really loud for the convection oven.

We have a Viking hood (not vented out) combined with a microwave (model VMOR205SS). Basically, the hood does not function at all. I believe it is not a malfunction, but rather very poor product design. The areas to suck the air in are very small and located on the side. The filters look kind of big, but then the holes for the air are much smaller. I had a technician make sure it was installed properly and one of the things he did was create smoke by blowing out a candle and hold the candle really close to the vents (like two inches away; much closer than any air/smoke from pots or pans would be). The smoke barely moved towards the holes. It was shocking, really. It was just like a cloud hanging around. The hood never functioned well from day 1 – again, just because its really poorly designed. Our fire alarm often goes off while cooking (the fire alarm in at least 20 feet away and behind a corner) and the stove area gets very hot. We then cannot turn the ineffective hood off, because it stays on for as long as the hood area is hot. This makes talking very difficult as it is very noisy. Sometimes it takes an hour for the hood to shut down.

I love to cook. My next-door neighbor used to be a head chef for a French restaurant in New York City and she has a Viking. So I was looking at getting one. At the time, I was also looking at Wolf and an Italian stove. But the guy at the Appliances Connection down in New Jersey talked me into buying the Viking. I heard that Viking had some issues back and he convinced me that those issues had been resolved. So I believed him and I bought it. But Ive been frustrated a little bit because it came not working. The small stove would ignite but it would go out and it would keep trying to ignite over and over again. I called Viking and I registered it, but she told me they didnt have anyone who repairs it in our area. I told her my next-door neighbor has a stove and that Id ask her. But the woman said no and never followed through with getting someone to repair it.However, the people I bought this stove from, Appliances Connection, stepped up and found a repairman. They organized the repair and now it is fixed. Im very happy. But someone needs to talk to Vikings service department rep. Other than that, the quality of my Viking range is fantastic and the cooking capacity is awesome. I would recommend it.

When I decided to redo my kitchen, I decided to go with Viking Refrigerators to try it out. I also bought Viking range, French door oven, dishwasher. I had the fridge installed and then I had a new cabinet put in and being a first time Viking Refrigerators owner I was very disappointed when the installers pulled it away from the wall and it bent the feet underneath. We did not know it needed to be lowered. Even the contractors who do kitchens all the time did not know that it had to be lowered first.I haven’t used my refrigerator in a month. I got a brand new kitchen but I can’t use the fridge because I’m trying to determine how to get this thing fixed. I called Viking Refrigerators, they referred me to a place called High End Appliances. I called them, they came out, looked at it, and when they gave me the estimate. They were saying it was going to cost like $1,500 to fix it and the Viking Refrigerator was $10,000. I was going to call Viking Refrigerators and share with them the situation in detail. Supposedly the issue was not a manufactures defect. I don’t understand why it can’t be a part of that warranty but as far as the Viking Refrigerators repair person says through High End Appliances, it could not be covered unto warranty. I think that the customer needs to know more specifically that it if a heavy duty item ever needs to be removed it will have to be lowered, because I paid for installation through BestBuy. They put it in and they knew that I was going to get my kitchen remodeled but who was going to tell me to make sure to lower it when I move it.For a major appliance like that that costs $10,000 I would expect that there should be something in writing if this item ever needs to be removed. I think there needs to be something very bold and written so that this won’t happen to someone else again. I don’t know if that should be something that was made apparent to Viking Refrigerators owners not to move this 48 inch cabinet type fridge unless you first have it professionally lowered. It’s not normal so it was a little frustrating.

Besides finding out that their side-by-side refrigerator is the biggest disappointment in home appliances, I found out that their customer service is the same! I had some warranty repairs done by Vikings preferred service provider and during the work, they installed an upgrade kit for the refrigerator. Months went by and we would occasionally see water under the unit. Our warranty was up so we had a different service provider come over to estimate what was wrong, a service provider we found out later that Viking had put on their list of preferred repairers. The service person found that while the unit was under warranty and the upgrade was installed, the wiring was preformed incorrectly causing the refrigerator to leak water underneath, damaging the wood flooring in the house. I called Viking on the subject and they first told me that they would not cover the faulty workmanship so I complained that it was their provider that I had used. They gave me a case number and told me that they had 24 hours to research the case and they would call me back. They did not call back and the case was left unsolved. The Viking company does one thing very well, disappoint their customers! This is not the first time that I have had the experience of poor service from Viking. Buyer beware.

The quality of the Viking refrigerator that I got was very good. I liked its looks and finish, and the space inside was also good. The reps have been very helpful every time I had to call them to register the product or when had a question, and theyve been very quick to respond and get back to me, and give me the answer that I needed. Everything in my experience with Viking Refrigerators has been good.

I like that the Viking refrigerator is spacious and industrial. However, we had to have their techs come out a couple of times to stop the squeaking of the doors. It was annoying to have to do that when you first get the refrigerator purchased and set up. But their team is professional and friendly.

I purchased all Viking appliances thinking they were high quality. Unfortunately, I had problems from the start...especially with the dishwasher. Like many other customers, the silverware basket began falling apart within the first year. I complained to Viking and left with the impression they just dont care if you are satisfied or not. I cant stand the thought of paying up to $80 for a new Viking basket- after paying so much $$$ for the dishwasher in the first place- so I am still using the broken one currently held together with zip ties. If that wasnt enough, the start button on the top edge that turns the machine ON failed. That cost me close to $200 to replace one tiny electronic part. I have a small apartment size dishwasher in one of my rental units I paid only 1/4 of what I did for my Viking and it cleans dishes so much BETTER than my expensive Viking. DO NOT BUY VIKING APPLIANCES. You will regret it.

After two repairmen from two different companies offering to repair everything from the motherboard to the seals (for the same stated problem) and spending over $1500, I still cant bake cookies that dont turn into rocks as soon as they cool. No one has heard of this problem (they suggested the $5 inside thermostat which I got). Everything seems to check out but it is like all the moisture gets sucked out of really small items like cookies when cakes do fine. There must be something also wrong with the uneven heat because 2 roasted chickens had to be pan fried (with 8 guests offering suggestions) after 1.5 hrs of cooking at 425. I hate this oven. Anyone heard of this desiccating cookie problem?

I always knew about Viking from reputation. We purchased homes in the past and my brother is also a chef so hes used to the Viking products and higher end appliances. I was in San Francisco and our home builder had Viking as all of our appliances. I have my whole kitchen, as well as the dishwasher, the refrigerator, the stove, the microwave, and the oven with the Viking line. The refrigerator is great and I like the look of the French double doors. Ive had the refrigerator for two months but its not working at its optimal level. The ice maker doesnt work. But it was a good experience when I called Viking about it. They were able to set me up with a local provider. However, the local provider just came out a week ago. And it had taken them almost two weeks to come out to fix it. And they still had to order a part and its gonna take a little bit longer so I had to go to Starbucks to get ice.

I knew about Viking Ranges from back in the days that it’s a high-end commercial range. They’re one of the first ranges from back in the day that have been still around, and I recently also heard that they have improved their latest model. So, I decided to go and get one, and I love it. I like that it’s easy to clean and take apart. I like the aesthetics, the way it feels and looks, as well and it seems good quality. Its industrial quality is my favorite. Ive used my range and have gone back to the department store. I looked at the lower-end models and the integrity of the material isn’t there, like the grill grates and the griddle. Everything is just built a lot better on the Viking gas range.

I like the look of Viking Refrigerators and it was a right fit for what we needed. So we got a package deal from them and ended up getting two refrigerators. They’ve been great up until a month ago where unfortunately, one of them malfunctioned. The refrigerators are in our vacation home, and the gentleman who came out and checked it said the foam came loose and got caught in the fans. There was no coolant happening and no fans were going off, and it was heating up the temperature so all of the fixtures on the doors cracked from the heat. The food in my refrigerator also cooked for about two weeks, so it took 11 hours for the cleaners to get it cleaned and it still smells.I was still hoping that Viking will get it fixed, but parts have to be ordered and the gentleman who came out and told me to put coffee or charcoal in the refrigerator also said that the inside of my refrigerator got cooked. Its now beige and is off color. He said if I can live with that, then my refrigerator will probably be okay. But I was asked what I wanted and I said Id like the refrigerator replaced because it’s clear that theres something wrong and they came out and confirmed it. But theyre going to send all the pieces to put it together, and thats very silly to replace all the stuff as I don’t think my refrigerator is going to be all right because of the inside coloring. Its going to cost them as much for each of those drawers because everything inside the refrigerator wasn’t metal and most of the shelvings cracked and completely dropped to the bottom of the refrigerator, smothered in whatever food I had there, and it was just not good.My second Viking refrigerator, a small one that’s on the counter by my stove, also decided to kick out, which is weird because Viking is usually a very good product. The tech said he’s seen it on three others in his time and he’s worked for 20 years on Viking, but he’s never seen it this bad. So I hope they do the right thing and replace the product because it clearly was faulty. I think its a great product. Its sleek and I loved it, but Im still a little frustrated. Its been two weeks and I haven’t heard anything back, so Im going to call and see what was happening with my refrigerator.

When I came to take the dishwasher out of the box it had a dent on the front door and the top right-hand side of the unit I called customer, and the lady told me they do not cover Freight damage. They will replace the door but not the unit. I go to install the unit and there is water coming out of the hose. I called customer service again and they told me they do not cover that and they can only replace the door. Thank you Viking.

I wanted to make sure everything matched for my wife and that my wife enjoyed it, and that it would look fine in the house that we live in, so we bought our appliances from Viking. I liked their stove and I was hoping that theirs would be better products than the other products right now. So far, nothing has broken down. I like my appliances, and everything I bought is great and excellent. At the Viking dealer, one of the salesmen helped me and as we were talking, the manager came up and then I was talking to him. They were really polite and kind and courteous. I appreciated that he took his time to explain things to me the things I would ask him about (like the warranty). Then he set up the delivery date and everything came out on time. Everything was fine. I have nothing bad to say about the people that helped me there or my whole experience with Viking. They were wonderful.

So, we’re trying not to use it until it’s fixed. They had a guy out a week ago who said that they needed to order parts. And there’s been no ETA on when the parts are gonna be available or when the range is gonna be fixed. The Viking reps have been okay, but the problem’s been with the contracted service. I have Viking refrigerator (48 by 84) with a diagnostic of internal leak made by authorized expert. Non-repairable. Still under the warranty (12 years sealed system). Viking Service Manager at the distribution center received the experts report on August 29, 2013, but ignored it. After I contacted them on September 23, 2013, they started to interpret the warranty in different ways. Also told me to contact Viking customer service by the phone. I stay without a fridge till now. I had a meeting with the Service Manager. He apologized for the delay (about a month!) and asked to wait again. To show his work he provided me with the email sent by him to the Regional Service Manager and the reply. General idea - lets make her go back and forth while we get Viking on the same page. Then offer her to buy a replacement unit at 6160 + 15% tax, 50% of the actual retail price.

Ive always heard good things about Viking. Several years ago, I heard bad things about them but I decided to give them a chance because they are out of Greenwood and my niece lives there. I chose Viking because it did have a good reputation. Plus, they offered the free dishwasher to come with the range. Building a home, that was an incentive for us. I absolutely love the quality of the range. We lived in military housing for so long and we had an electric stove and all my pots would hit each other. I couldnt wait to get a gas range. My brother said to get a 36-inch and Im so glad that I did because my pots can breathe. They dont touch each other. I love the roominess. Weve used it for about two weeks now and weve been very pleased. They have set off our alarms but thats because we didnt put the hood on. Other than that, it heats up immediately and it puts out just the right amount of heat. I love that it cooks my potato quickly. Its also easy to clean. I do have a sponge that I use to make sure it doesnt scratch because when I inquired one time, you have to be careful not to use something that would be abrasive to scratch it. I like the grates. Theyre very heavy-duty. I do like the knobs too. They are big and easy to turn. I thought it would be cute if they came in different colors but when I called in, they said theres another competitor that is known for certain colors. Ive noticed that the back cooks faster than the front but it performs beautifully. It looks like theyve improved from what had happened a couple of years ago. Theyre trying to get their name back.

Cracked butter covers, drawers that crack and fall off the track, track that wont support drawers, cracked freezer interior lining, ice maker issues, drain issues. The problem is Viking does not really seem to want to help you when its under warranty (loopholes like cracked components are cosmetic) why should that matter! In 2009, we replaced our 17-year-old SubZero with a Viking Refrigerator (15.2 cu ft of fridge and 5.1 cu ft of freezer). Aitoros in Norwalk, CT threw in a Viking wine fridge for free. The doors to the butter shelf broke very quickly after purchase and the cheese door is cracked. We also purchased an extended warranty. Bottom line, the service company after 5 attempts to fix the refrigerator told us we were keeping the door open too long. We are empty nesters who work all day and are nowhere near the kitchen. Calls to Aitoros did nothing. Calls to Viking Custom Service referred us to another store who does not service appliances purchased elsewhere. The service company who covers the warranty is unresponsive. For the last 6 months, our food is in the vintage, mustard yellow, GE refrigerator vintage 1977 (in the basement) which works like a champ. I would never, ever recommend a Viking appliance to anyone. I will never purchase another appliance from Airotos who we have used for the last 20 years. Whatever happened to customer service? It seems we have no other alternative than to go and buy a new refrigerator.

I have a 120 year old Queen Anne with a beautiful Chefs Kitchen filled with all Viking Appliances. I have 500 to 600 people visit and touring this historic Victorian house on an annual basis. The 36 Viking Refrigerator stopped cooling both the refrigeration and freezer sections. I contacted the local high-end appliance center, and was told by them, that they no longer work with Viking because of their very poor service of there appliances, especially their refrigerators. I spoke with all other neighbors in our mansion district and was told the same thing. So, this was shocking because I own a complete set of Viking appliances in my beautiful kitchen.Nevertheless, I decided to find out myself, what experience of service I would get by contacting Viking. Well... the person on their (1866) toll free number, kind of summed it up as exactly like I was warned. The unhelpful person referred me to the closest authorized service company 75 minutes away, which after calling twice and not hearing back, lead me to believe I was dealing with a truly amateur company. I am highly thinking of changing-out ALL the Viking appliances to a more professional manufactures.

We had an old Sub-Zero and we needed to replace it because it was not possible to repair it. We were trying to find an appliance who can go inside the place and we had a few choices. Viking Refrigerators model was the right price and it was a high-quality product. We had a problem with the delivery of the fridge to our home. They broke our product during the transport but the fridge seems to be working properly. And the installation was really complicated for the installer. They took three hours to adjust everything and it was really difficult, so thats the thing that we cant fix. Also, the shelves inside are too soft, so when you put like a turkey inside, the shelf bends. And it makes a lot of noise and we were surprised by the noise of that model of that price. Now, we are waiting for a technician to repair the damage during transport. They have to change a part of the door and another thing that broke during the bad delivery. Also, in the store, they told us that model adds a two-year guarantee and in the manual that we have, they said three years of guarantee. The technician told me that usually when he comes to repair over the guarantee, he always took the information in the manual. He told us maybe its a two-year on our bill but if we could take a picture of the manual and say its a three-year guarantee from the date of purchase or delivery date. I would like to receive a confirmation if its true because it seems that they change the base guarantee. We bought an extended guarantee because we want to use that product for the next 20-year. From the time I bought 2 top-of-the-line Viking dishwashers, I have had problems. I am noticing that most people in this room experienced similar laissez-faire attitude from Viking who must have bounced me from one representative to another a good 5 times over the years, only to tell me that my warranty ran out. One lady tried to help me but was swiftly replaced and I never got the attention this needed. $4500 spent and most wash (all of them) end with error/fault codes and need resetting. This message, I hope, will discourage people from being lured into believing that Viking is a stand up company and that they place good emphasis on making sure the client is taken care of. Additionally, where I think they really should rethink the way they treat clients, is that in my case, I am looking to replace refrigerator, freezer and 60 inch cooking surface. They will be missing out on this (however small) amount of revenues. It’s very hard to move them in and out. It’s almost like they’re too narrow for the track, like they’re lopsided. It’s weird. I love how it performs and it’s very easy to clean. The only thing, the burner size itself is very broad, so some of my pots, the heat comes more to the side versus the center. But the end result is we paid almost $7,200 for the range and its damaged. Im not real happy with Viking and I was real disappointed with them. If I had to do it over again, I would not go with them. Its been somewhat of an uphill battle with Viking and AllSouth and were hoping that it will be rectified.

Our Viking refrigerator is fine. I’ve only had it for two months, but I found that I’m having to figure out where to put stuff. It seems small inside. I dont know if I would repurchase another refrigerator like that because of the compartments. If you have very tall things like milk and wine, it really makes it hard. You can take out the other shelves, but then you have no place to put stuff. And this is my first thanksgiving, and I’m really dreading to figure out how I’m gonna put stuff in the refrigerator. I’ve emptied everything out of the little vegetable things to put my dishes in there. Also, I haven’t figured out how to clean the outside of it yet because it seems like I’m always messing with it. Overall, compared to other refrigerators, our Viking is kinda cumbersome to me, but I’ll figure it out.

We got the stove through Albert Lee Appliances. The most remarkable thing about the purchase was this promotional thing and I got the cookware from Viking for free. It is the finest cookware Ive ever had in my life. We ordered the stove in the middle of the pandemic and it came pretty quick. The stove has awesome quality. We love it. Its great. It gets to temperature pretty fast, and then it holds it really well. Weve always had a Viking, and when we built the house were in now, we bought a Viking and the stove lasted for 22 years. It was still working, but we thought we should replace it after 22 years.

Weve had our Viking for years now since we renovated our kitchen. I love the look of it as well as the induction cooktop. It is incredible. But in the last year, we spent thousands of dollars on getting both the panels of our induction cooktops replaced. The guy that I called at Viking was awesome and he helped get it through. That one was covered under warranty. But there was a stocktake that happened right before Thanksgiving and Viking shut down for it. That meant that parts didn’t ship for weeks and weeks. Who shuts down a cooking warehouse for stocktake the week before Thanksgiving? It’s the most important food holiday in the entire country. What kind of management decision was that? It was insane. We didn’t get the part for our range until after Thanksgiving. We got the first side fixed just before Christmas. And then about three months ago, the other one went out and. That wasn’t under warranty anymore and that cost us over $1,300. The same thing happened with the part too. The guy gave the part but Viking sent the wrong one. The guy came and installed it, but it didn’t work. He then got another part. It came back and it still wasn’t working. He finally figured out that time that they sent the wrong part. The guy came back a third time. It was like a complete saga. I had to be home four times to get the second side fixed. Viking range is incredibly expensive. We probably could’ve bought a range for a third of the price. I expected this thing to last for 30 years and not have a problem with it. But since these induction panels started going out, it had been a nightmare. The other one that was replaced under warranty the other day is doing something funky. We have to keep an eye on it because it has a 12-month warranty on it. Also, my understanding from the text is that there are only a couple of companies in the world that make induction boards. Whatever products you buy, you’re basically getting the same induction board in there. And this one is the best. But it still seems like there are some issues with the technology. At this point in time, it’s been very disappointing overall. You don’t expect to pay for a top-of-the-line range to have to then deal with this repeatedly. When the range is working, it’s wonderful. I love it! I just don’t love that it keeps breaking and it cost me a fortune to get it fixed. It is unacceptable. The interesting thing is the company we’ve been dealing, Appliance Pros, has been pretty great although it was frustrating having to call and be told that Viking was shut down or the part was not yet shipped. We felt bad for the guy who came and fixed the last issue we had. He made four visits for one repair that could have been done in two visits. Im dissatisfied with Viking.

My husband is a builder, and he always thought that Viking Ranges are more expensive than others. But the lady at Best Buy called and said they have this floor model line. We were getting a new range, and I love to cook, so I was like, Sure. However, for three weeks I didn’t have a range and it was a big mess. There seems to be a big disconnect on the Best Buy part of Viking. In summary, don’t buy a Viking from Best Buy. It started last September 22nd and it was awful at first. Best Buy would not get someone out here. They didn’t even know they sold us an LP. Apparently Viking misstated it. Best Buy couldn’t say why it didn’t work and then when they figured it out, the sales girl said they were getting someone because they kept telling me its really hard to get a Viking tech. It was out for two weeks. I also had a Best Buy warranty and they told me that it covers Viking. I called the Geek Squad. The day they came, theyre like, We don’t service Viking ranges and I still don’t have a clear answer on that. The manager was supposed to get me whether or not the Best Buy warranty covers Viking and they still don’t have an answer yet. Once the manager got involved, he saw how I upset I was. At first were going to convert the range but they couldnt. The techs involvement helped. He said, Its either buy a Viking LP or gas or you have to take the whole oven apart to convert it.” That ended up being a no-go. That weekend, he got me a loaner and that’s when they said, “Were just going to get you a new range.” Ive been using it and I love it. The front right burner is boils water fast. My least favorite feature though is it doesn’t go real low even on simmer. It still boils. The low setting is not like I put it on and let it go without worrying that its going to burn, which is weird. When the oven stops working that day, Im like. Its coming up to Thanksgiving. What if it stops working? But a girl called me and she must have set up a tech because I got a call from someone and theyre coming.

We purchased a gas stove and a microwave convection oven for above it a year ago. We had a disturbing trend with the microwave. Once in a blue moon, it makes noises like it wants to blow up. When we hit the microwave, it makes these sparking noises like theres an electrical circuit shortage and then it stops, then it keeps working. But for a second and a half, it gives us a heart attack. We had a service guy come out who is a certified Viking repair guy for Western Monmouth County in New Jersey. He told us in essence that sometimes particles of dirt get into the grates on the inside and they pop away when we first turn the thing on. Ive never heard of that before in my life and it makes my wife afraid to use it. We had it happen when it was empty, when it had a potato in it and with a paper plate with something on it. He said its normal, which if it is, then theres a design problem since weve had microwaves for 40 years and never ever had that happen. But other than that, we love the stove, especially in terms of its BTU, its ability to heat up quickly and cool down quickly. Its been just fine that way, so were very happy with that.

I used to be a decorator in New York but now Im in Portland. I was doing caregiving for my mom, but I got her into renovating and I wanted to upgrade the whole kitchen. I wanted a sturdy commercial fridge that would still look nice in a residence and Viking Refrigerators already has the reputation. In addition, I like that the interior parts of their refrigerators were metal and not plastic. I had a simpler fridge the first time and I was amazed at how quickly the plastic parts started getting smashed when a bottle fell. I went to Eastbank Contractor Appliances. They represent a bunch of different companies, and what I liked about them was that they team up with Basco Appliances here in Portland. They picked all the brands that they like the best and put together the showroom. So you get good people who are seasoned in the industry. I trust them and they helped me go through everything. So far, I like my fridge and Im very pleased with it. I love the lighting when you open it up. There are lights all over the place. Its LED so I dont worry about wasting energy. Even though Viking Refrigerator was expensive, its worth the price. Its worth it to get something thats going to last because it just pays off in the long run.

I love my range from Viking. Its beautiful, the way it works is very simple, and its not electronic. The knob came off right away, though. But, Im not gonna hassle with that because its not that easy. It slipped into my counter and Im not gonna pay someone because it keeps coming off. Also, the private place I bought the range from was not that great. They didnt advise me properly that with the microwave above the range, the heat from the range would eventually get the microwave digital reading to fail. The hood is inside the microwave and now, Im having trouble with it. But Im not gonna replace it with the same thing. So then, I would have to get a whole new configuration. Nevertheless, I would suggest my range to anyone. Ive already told a friend about it and my friend bought the same one.

3 years ago my stove top exploded (a sealed burner unit) in my nannys face; singed her hair and eyebrows. Luckily the pot of boiling water did not go up in the air (the gas tubes held one side of the stove top in place). After repeated calls to the dealer, distributor and CEOs office I was told that since the unit was 2 months out of warranty it was not their problem. Amazing. Now I have 2 30 ovens that are about 7 y/o and they beep all day and night. However, they dont make (or repair) the electronics panel parts anymore. So again out of luck and need to pay $6,000 for the ovens to be replaced.Today I get the call that my $8,000 wine cooler, about 5 years old, needs new evaporators and it is $3 to 4,000 to repair. What a horrible company and product line. You pay full price for high end products and you get junk with a company that does not stand by its appliances. Stay far far away from Viking. I will gladly find the picture of the stove top if anyone wants to see.

I own a 6 year old Viking Double Oven. It’s bad enough Viking wouldnt stand behind a heating unit but worse, we missed the complete Christmas season (our oven died Dec 17) using the oven because Viking didnt have parts in stock to repair the element in the oven. I will miss this Easter as well since the parts wont be in by then. As a cook this is unacceptable to me and Viking’s potential customers should be aware of this. It will have been 4 months for me to receive a new ribbon element with glass part # 013930-000 IF I get it by April. I think Viking potential customers should be aware of the lack of customer service in parts with Viking. Also Viking customer service didnt seem to care about my issue and basically had the too bad for you attitude. We have a 6 burner Viking range top and a Viking double oven in a top end house. If this is Vikings idea of customer service for premium clients I will take my purchases elsewhere in the future. Buyers beware.

He would follow up on a regular basis via email, phone call, and text messaging. I was very impressed with him. He really took me on as a very personal customer and he was very good about understanding what I really needed. I built a $163,000 kitchen and Viking is the least expensive product I have in this kitchen and absolutely the worst. The refrigerator Ive had since March still doesnt work. Everything went into the garage until it got its turn into the kitchen. A couple of weeks into it, every time I open it up, everything in the front seemed warm. I finally put an analog thermometer in there and it was reading 50 degrees. Overnight, it would cool down to about 45 and anything above 40 is spoilage.I called Best Buy and they gave me Vikings number because I didnt purchase their three-year warranty. It already had a warranty on it and I didnt think I needed it. I called Viking and they gave me the number to Lakeview who had an Illinois number. Two days later, I still cant get in touch with Lakeview so, I called Viking again and they got on the phone with them. Lakeview called me back and set up an appointment. They got here three or four days later and looked at it. Theyre in my house for an hour and determined that this piece has a faulty seal that was supposed to be replaced per Viking. They said it will be in a few weeks but a month went by and they didnt have the part. Finally, the piece comes in five weeks after this initial problem. I called Lakeview and told them their piece is here and for them to come put it in. They came in the next day and it was an Electrolux. It doesnt have anything to do with the refrigerator that I have and its the wrong part. This tech is on the line for an hour and a half with Viking and determined that my refrigerator doesnt need this kit after all. Its some thermostat, little plug-in thing and he said they have that in stock and it will be here in a week. A week goes by and I called Viking because I could never get in touch with Lakeview. They said that since they have so many problems, theyd like to offer me $150 and exchange my warranty for six months. I asked how they would do that and they said theyll get back to me but two days and there was nothing.I called Viking again and asked for the part and they said Lakeview decided to order a bunch of parts for a bunch of other customers in the same group as mine. Some of those parts are in and my part thats in stock is lumped up with a bunch of others that have broken Vikings. They finally decided to separate the shipment and in theory, the part was shipped to Lakeview but I still have not heard from anybody. Also, I asked about the $150 and the six-month warranty and they said I didnt send them a receipt. Nobody told me that and I was very clear that I spent $1,000 to purchase a refrigerator and shove it into the garage so I can have a refrigerator in Dallas, Texas, at 102 degrees. But Im going to get this part installed and I dont care about the $150 because they want me to prove that I bought a refrigerator. Instead of just offering something and giving it to me, they put these little strings attached to it. Also, Im going to turn them in to the Business Bureau. Im going to light up Best Buy, Google everybody on the planet and tell them what Viking has done. Everything is the worst.

A friend of ours also had a Viking that we really liked the style of. We compared it against other ones in the showroom and generally liked the look of it better. We got a Viking range and dealt with MD Appliance in La Canada, California, and they were great. They were good at calling out the features and differences between them and the other top-of-the-line one that was like a Wolf. There are also a couple of very small, little, kinda like nitpicky things I noticed with the range. When the burner is at a very low setting, almost like on the simmer setting, it has a flickering effect on the gas burner. Also its not a smooth, sort of clean sounding burn when it’s up higher. So if I were to perfect the range, I would eliminate that kind of irritating flicker sound. The burners themselves are very heavy, which is fine. But the metal bottom of the burners is very rough, and it’s not a finished metal. So unfortunately when our house cleaner was taking it off of there, she scratched some of the surface of the range which freaking killed us, because it was like the price of a car. I wished that there was either some of sort of powder coat or some kind of finish on the underside of the burner that would prevent that type of thing from happening. But other than that were pleased with the quality and I have no problem recommending it.

In a short amount of time, we have had the refrigerator repaired four times - all involving issues with the ice maker and water dispenser. The dishwasher still works but the button that lights up when you push start does not. Apparently, that costs a couple of hundred dollars to repair. The wine refrigerator needed a new thermostat - that was a $400 repair. So far, we have not had any issues with the range or microwave. I did a lot of research on the internet on various high-end stoves and I looked to see about the problems with repairs. I knew that Viking was having a lot of issues before it was bought out a few years ago, but I saw that they had redone a lot of the parts and re-designed them. Their newer reviews were fine, too. They were pretty similar to the other high-end stoves. So, my wife decided Viking was the one she liked the most based on the way it looked. However, there was a scratch which was fairly deep on the stove door. It was installed about a month ago and I didn’t notice until right after the installers left. I was looking at the back of the stove when they took it off the truck. So I called up the store and sent them a picture right away. They acknowledged that it was obviously a problem because its not caused by me. I suggested they just send me a door and I would replace it myself as it is easy to install. I would just send them the old one if they wanted to. But Viking wouldn’t do that for some reason. They sent me a whole new stove. We also got side trim because we have a stone countertop that didn’t have a perfectly straight edge. The side trim makes the stove look like a slide-in type range. We couldn’t use the screws to install the side trim because they stick out and we can’t fit in a normal countertop within a 30-inch distance. It was kind of odd, but it’s no big deal. We just used the side trim and laid it in there, and it worked fine. Other than those, everythings fine. My wife is happy with the Viking stove. She loves it. We like the top of the stove the most. Also, when I had a question about how to remove the lower grate, the Viking rep answered the question right away.

We have had several problems with our microwave, now the numbers will not show up and the part cost $210 dollars. I have put up with this problem for several months. From the day my refrigerator was installed, it didnt work. The temperature was always above 45 degrees. A repairman was sent to my house 12 times between April 2008 and May 2009. Then miraculously, a different guy came and it seemed worked for 14 months. To this day, I do not know how one guy fixed it in 10 minutes when another guy came 11 times, spent hours and still couldnt fix it. When I voiced this concern, the company accused me of saying the guy did something unethical. So I let it go. A huge mistake. Now, the same old problem is back. I had to agree to pay for the service call and parts which I did. The tech guy recommended certain parts. The repair guy never used those parts instead, he installed a part for $165.00 which was already replaced twice. It cost me $404.00 and the refrigerator is once again not working. Temperature is above 45 degrees. So now what? Junk a $6000.00 refrigerator? I continue to pay for service calls that should have been taken care of when the refrigerator was installed. We purchased a complete Viking kitchen which included a range top, downdraft hood, a dishwasher, a Dutch oven, the refrigerator and the convection microwave. We’re satisfied with everything except for the refrigerator because every time you open the freezer, the ice overflows to the floor and I think it’s a design flaw. It doesn’t happen every single time, but the ice builds up and theres no back on the refrigerator, so it goes straight down and falls on the floor. So, somebody has to get to the floor and pick up the ice cubes. But I like the digital controls of the fridge and everything else is fine. Im very surprised about this one item and I know that LG makes their refrigerators so that may be the issue here, but I have heard only good things. I did a research because I know that previously, there were problems with the Viking refrigerators, and I was assured that that had been taken care of. It may be a minor adjustment but weve only had it set in place for three weeks, so weve been dealing with it. If it continues, then Im gonna rattle some cages.

When I moved into my house, it had a Viking six-burner cooktop which I thought was very well-done. It was enamel, not stainless steel, but was much sturdier than what I have now. I was impressed with it but its been there a while so I wanted to replace that. We redid our kitchen about five years ago and thought I would use Viking products. Thats how I started looking at the other matching pieces. I do a lot of cooking but the quality of what I purchased is not the same with what I had before. In hindsight, I wish I had just kept the Viking cooktop and had gotten double-oven in its place from somebody else. The stainless steel on the cooktop scratches. Ive already had to replace the grates once. Then the temperature on the double oven wasnt getting correct because the hinges were not strong enough. They had to be replaced to the tune of $400. Even after that was done, I still had to have a repairman come again to calibrate it correctly.Aside from the cooktop, we bought a Viking refrigerator whihc we picked in particular because we have space constraints and it worked well. The only thing I like in the new configuration of the model I have is that theres extra shelf at the top. Its very small but Im a baker so I put my pieces right in there to cool in the freezer. But the quality is horrible. Ive had several other refrigerators with which Ive been far more impressed with. The plastic inside is poorly designed in that the butter dish slides open when the door opens. Now, theyve changed it and within days it dented my initial fridge. I also had to replace an internal part as one of the drawers cracked. My first fridge had an ice maker problem and then the compressor went.I went through many months of badgering Viking to replace this thing. The Viking team members have been respectful but not timely. If I hadnt been a diligent pain in the neck, nothing wouldve happened. I had to keep contacting them before they had somebody come. When they contacted a person and I never heard anything, I contacted Viking again and finally got an email that she had left the company. But there was no follow-up.I finally got a new fridge and the people that Viking contracted with to come out were very helpful. When they came out, I spoke to Sally from Viking and wanted to verify that the trim kit will fit in the unit because I spent nearly $1,000 for the kit to make this thing look built-in. Sure enough, the contractors who came forgot the kit. So they came back again with it and only was able to put it in on one side. I then had to call a carpenter and pay out-of-pocket to have it replaced. I then called Viking again who ultimately recouped that fee for me and made me whole. But then again, the ice maker doesnt work in this new refrigerator. The repairman that Viking contracted with from Dillon Appliance came out this week and said that it doesnt function. So Im very disappointed. For the amount of money and time Ive spent on this, its crazy. I shouldnt have to have a part-time job tracking down Viking. They should do what theyre supposed to do. First of all, they should produce a good product. And second of all, Ive dealt with all these different people to have these things repaired and still have a refrigerator that doesnt have a working ice maker and this is my second fridge. And I was out of a fridge for five weeks. It was a long time and I have four kids. I have a backup fridge in the garage but its small. Nobody at Viking really seemed to be worried about this or really apologetic that their products shouldnt break and theyre very sorry that my compressor completely went under five years.I would never buy another Viking product. Its not worth the money, especially the refrigeration. Its like any other refrigerator and they slapped the Viking logo on it. Thats actually what the guy at Dillons told me. Theres nothing exceptional about it. Then Ive been somewhat pleased with the double oven except I had another double oven for years and never had to replace the hinges. Four and a half years in, Im already replacing hinges which is not exactly what I wanted to do. But I needed to retain the heat. Its a very disappointing experience. The product is by no means worth the amount of money I spent on it. The value isnt there.

The ice cube crusher/cube maker has broken twice. The first time it was still under warranty but it took over a month for the company to send a repairman. The second time that the ice crusher/cube maker broke, it was just out of warranty. The very rude Viking phone representative said that the part (ice cube tray with auger) was back ordered for over 3 months due to the faulty design of the unit noting that the plastic parts keep breaking. The cost of this plastic until was ~$450.00!!! We reinstalled it and it still doesnt work. What a piece of **. I would never recommend purchasing this professional refrigerator/freezer. DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

My husband’s company does construction and they work with Viking Ranges.
My husband’s company does construction and they work with Viking Ranges. I was redoing my kitchen, so I put Viking appliances in it. I like my refrigerator and my microwave, but I’ve had a lot of problems with the range. The first one I had, the motherboard kept burning out. They replaced it four times. It broke on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. And then Viking replaced the oven back in January but there’s still different issues that keep coming up. I had the bake module replaced, but that did not solve the problem. I did manage to cook Easter dinner this year. At least when the oven shuts off I’m able to turn it back on. The other way, when it shuts off, there was no turning it on. So, I had to cook all my holiday dinners on the barbecue grill. So we’re back to square one. If this is a lemon, they might have to replace it again.I had some not so pleasant experiences with Viking, but Sheryl has been very helpful and good. They just cant understand what’s going on. They want to send another repairman from a different appliance company to see if a different set of eyes can see something different. But to be honest, I’m not holding out any hope for that. I would not recommend a Viking Range. They’re expensive appliances. When you go online, people aren’t that happy with the range either.

Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range
Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range that I bought specifically so that I could have gas plus electric self cleaning. The range is 11 years old and Ive infrequently used the self cleaning, perhaps 7 times at the most. First repair in 2009 cost $700 and now it is broken again. At this rate, self cleaning is costing $100+ per use. When I complained the first time about the outrageous repair cost to Viking, they figuratively shrugged their shoulders. I have another complaint in again. I would not recommend this range in particular and I would be hesitant to buy any Viking appliance without careful review.
