We own a built-in Viking refrigerator that was manufactured in 2013. Over the past year, its plastic bins have started to disintegrate spontaneously. Nothing was abused or overstuffed. So far the following have fallen apart: (1) The pull for the ice drawer. (2) Three bins in the refrigerator door. (3) All bins in the freezer door, although two have lost pieces but the damaged bins havent yet fallen out. (4) The clear front of the deli drawer has cracked. (5) The clear top of the chiller drawer at the bottom of the refrigerator has fallen off.Obviously without the bins the refrigerator is nearly useless, unless one uses only its floor, and the wire shelves in the freezer which appear to have survived. Viking quoted a replacement cost for all these plastic items that would run more than $2000. To put this in perspective, a month ago I paid $650 for the 21 cu-ft GE refrigerator in my garage. I had to buy it partly because the Viking could hold less and less.We called Viking and were told that the refrigerator is out of warranty. When I asked the rep if he had ever heard of all the plastic disintegrating 6-7 years into the life of the unit, he said he had. When I asked if this was typical, he said it wasnt. When I suggested that our unit may have been manufactured with a bad batch of plastic and that Viking should take some responsibility to replace it, he said that they will not.In the past I have used a Kitchenaid built-in, GE, Whirlpool, Amana. In the early years I even bought used refrigerators from previous homeowners or used old ones in rental houses. Never have I seen bins crack and disintegrate as if this were timed to bring in another injection of revenue to Viking 6 to 7 years after the sale. Viking is not a low-cost brand that is trimming pennies on their product to lower the sale price; they position themselves as a high-end luxury brand. Whatever happened to reliability, durability, and pride in the brand?

Overall experience is very positive. Viking Range delivered and installed in satisfactory order. Range is working very well. Product meets the expectations. Two comments: The roasting pan was not included with the range. Had to call Viking Direct and order from Parts Dept. Evidently, the dealer said that I was not the only customer who did not receive the roasting pan. VIKING should ensure that roasting pans are included with the stove when delivered. One of the burners does not fire up as well as the other. Will need to call the dealer for service. Overall - happy to have made the purchase.

We purchased a Viking range in 1996 for $4,000. We began having problems with the oven igniters not working, therefore could not use the oven. We had them replaced the first time, at the cost of $217.89 on 12-23-98. This problem has recurred on a regular basis. We have replaced the igniters repeatedly on: 8-12-02 for $271.25, 7-13-06 for $310.00, 2-17-10 for $245.05, 1-21-10 for $265.26, and 8-09-11 that cost $402.95. Two days after the last repair, on 8-11-11, the igniters again would not work.As I write this today, I am without the use of my range again and find myself waiting for repairs to the same one later this week. This has become a nightmare! We have spent nearly $2,000 in repairing the same defective part over and over again. We are retired and cannot afford to keep replacing the igniters that are defective. The range is totally unreliable. I never know if it is going to light when I turn it on. We have used only repair services that are officially recommended by Viking. Our calls and concerns to Viking go nowhere.Upon investigating further, I have found that the igniters have been a constant problem in these Viking ranges and they were forced to redesign the igniter/burners system in the newer ranges. Where does that leave those of us who own these lemons? I would like to consider taking action against Viking.

Viking Model VCBB536ELSS has been a nightmare. This is an $8,000 refrigerator. Constant ice buildup. Finally, it died completely after many visits from repairman trying to thaw the back of the unit out and replacing motors. Viking agreed to replace for free. They even extended the warranty for me because it was 8 months of dealing with this nightmare. I have had the new one since November 2020 and the SAME THING IS HAPPENING again!! I cannot stress enough what a pain and expense with wasted food this has been.

Built a home and got all Viking appliances. The dishwasher was included in a special package. I like my french oven and my microwave and 6 burner range top. Theyre fine. The dishwasher I would never purchase again. It is very noisy when its washing. But what really bugs me is the control panel. You cant save any thing like your favor wash cycles. Every time you use it you have to turn it on and press the P button till you get the wash cycle you want then press an F cycle for drying which is like a double switch so Im never sure if I got the right one or not. I should have checked it out better then I never would have bought it.

Viking ranges are known and they are aesthetically better than their competitors. I got my Viking range from AJ Madison and they told us it would take about a month to deliver but it took longer than that. I had to reach out to them to confirm and they responded to me saying that the delivery is gonna be delayed by a week but it wasnt a big deal. We got the professional series and its quality is good. One igniter wasnt working well and we called up the company and they sent someone quickly. The service was good and it was covered under warranty. The burners themselves leave stains so it’s weird given the price point of the range. If something goes on it and I dont wipe it immediately, which when I’m cooking Im not gonna wipe it immediately, it leaves a stain. They need to improve the quality on all the burner caps. The gold burners are beautiful though, the heating is great and it cooks up really well. Our experience with the Viking range has been good so far.

I would say that the experience with this product is very poor. The worst! Oven igniters have failed 5 times! It burnt/deformed the burner tubes 5 times! I need to replace it at least every 20 months! Oven hinges operate very poorly! Many times on lighting, the oven door has blown open! This is a total junk for over $6,500! Pass the word to stores not to market the Viking Brand! What a junk!

I bought a refrigerator, a dishwasher and a range based on Vikings reputation. Their appliances quality is good. I like the power burners which is like 15,000 unit burners. However, Vikings customer service stinks. I had a problem with my refrigerator. When it was delivered, I couldn’t use it for two months. I spoke with a customer service rep and it was very hard to get the pieces. I waited for two months. Now it’s finally done, but I must have made 30 or 40 phone calls. I was very unhappy with that.

We recently remodeled our kitchen and purchased a full set of Viking appliances. They were installed in early November 2016. Shortly after install our wall oven started getting an F3 error (totally out of commission). We called Viking and waited more than a week for a response. Once I spoke with the repairman, he said, Im not sure why Viking provided you with my contact info. I dont support your area. Were on the Eastside of Seattle in between 7 large metropolitan areas. This happened two more times before we actually got connected with a repair company that supported Viking and our area. The repair company came out, and had to order two parts. The parts took more than 2 weeks to order so consequently we had no oven for the holidays. Two weeks after the parts were installed, the same issue (error code F3) happened again (completely out of commission).Again, called Viking; no response. Called the repair company that helped previously (they are great, btw) and they came out and now ordered the same 2 parts and have to wait until 2/23 for them to be delivered (today is 2/14). I asked Viking about what happens next. They said, they are not sure why Im upset with them... They have to go through this process for the warranty. After they reinstall these parts for a second time and if the error comes back, then they may consider extending our warranty. They may consider? What about replacing the oven for one that actually works? How long are we supposed to live without an oven. They dont care. Moral of the story; dont buy Viking. Not worth the money and they provide terrible customer service.

Weve owned Viking products for years in different houses. Over the years, their products have improved. Weve just spent about $40,000 in Viking products, in building a new home. The refrigerator we got from them appears to be fine. They built a nice product. I dont have high expectations with a refrigerator. It either keeps stuff cold or frozen. We have a separate Viking ice maker thats not part of the freezer or refrigerator, and its a nicely constructed piece of equipment. My only issue was with their dishwasher that immediately leaked. Moreover, I was in a new home without a dishwasher for two months because they couldnt deliver parts. We just got the dishwasher back a couple of days ago. The Viking dealer was good, except with their service with the dishwasher. We live in a small town in Arizona and they are the only game in town. But theres no excuse for our spending thousands of dollars on a piece of equipment that comes defective from the factory and then it takes two months to get a replacement part. Its just not acceptable We havent had any issues so far with any of the other equipment, which is good. Our Viking products sometimes had service-related issues, so theyre not as durable as some of their competitors stuff, but they certainly are attractive in their features. Ive had both good and bad experiences with Viking products, so I’m holding my breath that we don’t have any other issues. Viking has been challenged publicly on the quality of their product. So, Im hoping that they have improved their manufacturing process and their items are more durable than they were in the past.

Viking was having a deal where if you buy three of the main appliances, there would be a discount so I bought their refrigerator. It has a little space on the bottom that can fit a whole pizza box and I like that. It also has a wide freezer that has a lot of storage space in the separate freezer. But the unit has been with me for less than two years and it already needed repair. There was an electronic component on the defroster that went out. It was still under warranty, so I went back to the appliance store and got the name of the person that they recommended. I had to go online and make sure they had the warranty information and had to schedule a repair. Then they had to order the parts and the repairman had to come back a second time to install them. Aside from that, every one of the plastic drawers that pull out has hairline cracks. I talked to them about getting those replaced and Viking told me that since its a cosmetic issue, its not covered by the warranty. Also, when we were doing the repair and were taking out the glass shelving, the glue on the bracket that attached it to the glass came off. Its not a big deal because it sits on the glass, but it’s another example of why I dont see the unit as high-quality, like how the repair and appliance people described it. I also bought a Viking range and it works well but the preheat cycle takes a long time. I wish that there was more versatility and I would do away with the grill and just have a griddle that was two chambers wide. I was also disappointed that it doesn’t have a clock or automatic cut. So I feel that for what I paid for, I got a very low-tech item.

Weve owned a couple of ranges in the past and Viking has generally had pretty good reviews and the price point was reasonable for the quality of the range. The dealer was definitely knowledgeable about the products and making recommendations and accommodating schedules. Overall, it was a good experience. We’re generally happy with the quality of the unit. The burners are what we like most about it and the speed of which things kinda heat up. But the one thing that we would want to see improve with is the oven. The temperature doesnt seem to be as consistent as we hope it would be.

We just did a full-house renovation and I bought three refrigerators - a Viking and two Sub-Zeros. We bought through Ferguson. The saleslady was great and was good at advising but I was pretty clear on what I wanted and I also went with a decorator. I like the temperature management and the humidity drawers of the Viking and the only issue was if they had more storage containers at the top for the condiments, that would be great. But, otherwise, everything’s great and Im happy with it.

Six years ago we bought a $10,000 Viking professional range. While it may look beautiful, it has never worked properly. The large oven door will not shut tightly. We have had the appliance store where we purchased it come out numerous times and I am regularly told that I am being too rough with the door. Well, the door has never closed properly, and because it doesn’t close properly the oven turns off whenever I set the oven to a temperature above 400 degrees. The appliance company insists that there’s nothing wrong with the hinges, and Viking has done absolutely nothing to help. I am now ready to replace a stove that should’ve lasted my lifetime. If you’re looking for a stove, choose anything but a Viking.

All I can say is that I wish I had read these other reviews before buying our very disappointing Viking D3 Electric Range!!! It hasnt cooked right since the day we got it. Being on a special medical diet, I need to have all 3 of my meals cooked along with what I need to cook for my family. So, needless to say, my range gets a good work out. Thought I was buying a high end brand to fit my needs. Unfortunately, the oven does not cook to the proper temperature & takes forever to cook anything. 1 1/2 hours to cook thin chicken cutlets, almost 2 hours to bake a blueberry loaf that ended up being still uncooked in the middle & all the blueberries sunk to the bottom. The best was some birthday cupcakes I baked on the convect cycle which got over cooked on the outside & not done on the inside & actually exploded part of the tops off. Im going to try & include a photo if I can. All I can tell people who are looking to buy a range, DONT BUY VIKING!!!!! I wish I never bought one.

We purchased a house that had a Viking refrigerator and we didn’t realize the value of the appliance. When it broke and wasn’t cooling in the freezer, we looked and it cost $9,000 to replace, which was a shock. I would never buy a $9,000 refrigerator unless it was to match one that broke and it wouldnt have been my first choice by any means. I don’t think I wouldve ever bought a Viking appliance on purpose. Plus, theres nothing better about the refrigerator and its small for its size. We called a tech from Johnson Service last October and somebody came out. He said that it needed either an inverter or a compressor. One was gonna be 600 bucks and the other one could cost a couple of thousand dollars. Then he took off and we didn’t hear anything from anybody for a couple of months. We would call and ask if somebody was gonna come here and fix our fridge and they would say that they were still waiting on a part. That went on for a couple of weeks. We went through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a refrigerator. We were calling them once a week to ask for an update. They said that the refrigerator was an expired model that Viking doesnt make anymore and that they had to make a whole new kit for the refrigerator, which was what was taking time. Finally, after Christmas, I called Viking directly and asked what the heck was going on. The lady said that that was the first she had heard about it, even though they were the ones that had initially referred me to call Johnson Service. The lady was helpful though. She got on the phone and started making calls to Johnson herself. The next day, I got a call from Johnson and they said that Viking freed up one of the parts needed and that they would be able to get over here in a couple of days to fix the refrigerator. A couple of days went by, but we still hadnt heard from them. Then finally, a week or so later, we got it fixed. It took 10 weeks to get the refrigerator fixed and we didnt get a deal. It still cost $650 to fix it. It was an awful experience. I would never deal with the refrigerator again. I would work with local stuff that I can get people to fix easier.

We purchased all new Viking Appliances from Pacific Sales in Santa Barbara. Within 1 year we threw out the Viking dishwasher and replaced it with a Bosch. Within 5 years we had about a dozen services on the Viking built-in refrigerator due to leaking water and icing up in the freezer. We are extremely disappointed with Viking products. We spent about $1500 on the dishwasher and $7,300 on the refrigerator. I would strongly discourage anyone from buying Viking products. We are about to buy a new refrigerator and it certainly will NOT be a Viking and we will not be buying our refrigerator from Pacific Sales due to their lack of customer support. Not only that but when Pacific Sales originally delivered the appliances their truck smashed a wall in our entry driveway. It took us a couple of months and many complaints to multiple levels of management to get them to fix the wall - and after all of our efforts they would only pay for half of the damages.

We purchased out Viking refrigerator at Atlantic Appliances and should have listened to the salesperson who told us it was really an AMANA refrigerator with a VIKING label on the door. He was insulting AMANA because this brand was worse! Not less than 2 months later, the top of the cold cut drawer snapped off. The produce drawers cracked shortly afterward. Obviously the interior was sub-optimal and did not live up to the Viking brand. Overtime, I realized that the storage is not practical either. I cannot fit all of my produce in those two tiny drawers, and the bottom freezer cannot hold a large turkey. Also, the freezer drawer does not come out enough so that you have to bend down and INTO the freezer. Finally the entire refrigerator crashed this weekend and we need to buy another, after owning it for 6 years. Went to SEARS and fell in love with a Kenmore french door... price 2000.00. Price of Viking 3560.00. Do the math! I will never purchase high end appliances again.

Built a new home in 2011, my ex wanted an elaborate kitchen that would be functional and fun to entertain in. We purchased Viking refrigerator, freezer, 2 dishwashers, 12 gas burners and 4 ovens, because our impression was Viking was top of the line. Turns out the line begins at the rear. The dishwashers never worked properly and I discarded them after 2 years & numerous service calls. The burners took several trips and replacement of the castings to get them level. The ovens take forever to reach temperature and each one takes a different setting to maintain required temperatures. Both doors on the refrigerator and freezer have sagged and required adjustments. Currently, we have been waiting for a month for a part for the refrigerator, in order to get the temperature under 50 degrees. Called yesterday again and was told that the part was on order and coming from the factory. I asked if it was coming by Pony Express, hello Viking have you heard about FedEx yet? Good thing I kept the 15-year-old Whirlpool or we would be eating out of a cooler.

We also discovered that the Downdraft to our brand new Viking Stove did not work as well! The following Monday a supposed Viking technician came to our home to check both appliances. He had no computer to run diagnostics and no email acct to his phone. The Viking phone operators had a difficult time discussing the problems with him. He informed us that BOTH appliances needed parts and that it would probably be around 10 days. Here it is the 25th and I havent heard from them. The sales cycle so OK, but nothing fantastic, through University Electric of Santa Clara. Organizing the installation could have been smoother. Also, the free units offered with the oven had terrible reviews so I declined them, but no alternative credit was available. Installation by GA Installations was very smooth. However, the small oven has not worked properly since installation. Getting a service visit took weeks, and failed to correct the problem. Second visit is today, another several weeks later. Service guy said he had never seen our problem before, so either we have a uniquely bad unit or the service professional didnt know his stuff. If todays visit does not fix the issue, I expect the complete oven to be replaced. For a premium appliance, I did not expect anything like this. One more thing - my online registration wasnt visible to Viking when I called in the service request, even though I got an email confirming the registration. I just logged in to get the order info, and I still dont see it there. Feel free to call to discuss!!

When we did a complete remodel of our kitchen in 2018 we purchased Viking range top, downdraft vent & dual wall ovens. Viking had a promotion going where they threw in the dishwasher. The dishwasher stopped working in late January 2019, about 8 months after installation. We called the Viking authorized appliance repair company. They sent a service tech out 8 days later. He informed us the dishwasher had a bad water pump and circuit board. Told us it would take a week or two to get replacement parts. Never heard back so after two weeks I called the service center and was informed the parts would be in late March which means were out of a dishwasher for over 2 months.I am a general contractor with over 40 years in the business and have never experienced a dishwasher failure. I guess that is why Viking is giving them away! I may go ahead and purchase a Miele and throw this Viking unit out. I dont know how Viking can justify two month wait times for parts. Im really happy that it wasnt the cooktop or oven with a problem but now wondering if we do have an issue with either of those how long will it take to get parts.

We purchased a Viking refrigerator in 2008. We have had continuous problems with it and have had times gone up to five months because the parts could not be delivered. Our latest problem began the end of June and the repairman is still waiting for the part to be delivered. While the repair service is competent I believe, they cannot do anything unless they have the parts. This is been a totally frustrating experience. Having paid for a very expensive and supposedly high-quality refrigerator it is frustrating to see how many times it has broken and how long it takes to get a repair. We also have a cheaper fridge purchased at the same time when we built our home and it continues to work just fine with no repairs as of today. I would not recommend Viking to anyone. Having just got off the phone with Joy from customer service she is a ray of hope.

Our new house came with the upgraded package of Viking, but the range never worked. The stove wouldn’t light and we couldn’t keep it lit. It took us almost a year of repeated people coming out. We couldn’t get it right and it was because of multiple things. When they put it in, they got the wrong backing and it took three different people just to get that right. It was a huge relief when Viking replaced the stove for us. I like the stove, but when its on the blower is so strong that I can’t put a low heat on my stove top. If I have the oven on, I can’t put low on the burners because the blower blows into the burners. The repair people that we had were polite and professional and I dont fault them in any way. It was one of them that helped me get the new range. But Im disappointed and I will never buy a Viking again.

Bought a home with all-Viking appliances. They LOOK heavy duty, and the range certainly is. Problem is, they dont work as well or have many features available on more popular consumer brands like GE, KitchenAid, etc., that cost much, much less. Our Viking range has racks that are impossible to pull out. In our other home, our GE Monogram has beautiful ball-bearing shelves that glide fully in or out with ease. The Viking fridge has shelves and compartments that are all cracked, even though its pretty new. It beeps once in a while for no apparent reason (the door is CLOSED! ); its slow to make ice, and has no ice or water through the door. Seriously? Why would anyone pay thousands for this junk when other brands have better features, more durability and cost far less to service?

The Viking is not a minute fraction of what I think it should have been and expected. The customer service is absolutely miserable, had multiple problems from the start, and buying from Pacific In Store at Best Buy was a HUGE mistake. The Viking Experience which I literally looked forward to for YEARS is a massive let-down. The only positive is, I LEARNED and since I am selling my house and moving to Iowa I get to buy a high end range all over again and have it NOT be Viking! Like a nice WOLF, Thermador or Capitol. I am a builder in the Vail/Beaver Creek area in Colorado. One of the most expensive real estate markets in the country. Over the years Ive used many Viking products. In June my Viking ovens electrical control panel failed. The service rep contacted Viking and was told what part to order which turned out to be a metal cover, not the electrical panel. The electrical panel had to be special ordered and cost over $1200. When it arrived it didnt work and the rep was told to order another. We have had no oven for over 4 months. When I talked to the kitchen design company where we purchased $ millions of appliances and cabinets they told us they no longer carry Viking because of poor service and reliability.

Viking Ranges look beautiful that’s why I chose Viking over a different name, also because of the quality and the name behind it. I wanted everything to match, so I went with the range and the dishwasher as well. The range has worked really well, but the dishwasher had problems when it was first originally shipped. The team with Viking came in and had to replace two parts, but for a brand-new appliance having two new different parts, having someone come in was not something I expected. In the future, I would stick with the actual cookware and not the auxiliary accessories.I have the standard range and stovetop, but its built well. Everything on it is really strong and really sturdy like it would be lasting a long time. I dont worry about if its gonna break if I move to someplace Im gonna have to be of if Im gonna end up replacing it in the next five years. On top of that, I really like the timeless design, where it wont go out of style if I switch from plain marble to black marble. Its not something Im gonna have to replace.

We used standard Windex to regularly clean the oven face and eventually the lettering just dissolved. We had Viking replace the plate at no cost and with great hassle through Friedmans appliances and the second time we requested another plate they just blew us off. They would not even order it through Viking because they said it was discontinued. I will Never buy another Viking appliance as long as I live - I am a chef and cook at least 5 times a week. They should check these out before shipping them. Ive installed ranges from others that are a third the price and have much better quality - very disappointed. Might I mention this range cost $3,600. The refrigerator door fell on my wife out of nowhere when she opened it. But Viking they did an exceptional job in making sure that my wife was okay and that we received a new unit. We couldn’t be happier with their response. I assume it was because of the liability and the potential for an injury. They also probably wanted to prevent that from ever happening again. We have three little kids and God forbid it was one of them who opened those doors. It weighs 150 to 200 pounds fully loaded. Viking said it has apparently never happened before but that can happen with any product. Still, we’re happy with the product, its looks and its performance. We’ve owned the Viking refrigerator for some time now, along with the oven, the microwave and the dishwasher. We have the whole Viking outfit. We also had issues with our oven and our dishwasher and they were diligent on those as well. The fan motor had to be replaced for our oven and they replaced the pump of our dishwasher.

My experience with our Viking range has been good so far. We have one issue when we first got it, but it was a floor model, so thats understandable. One of the burners wasnt working, but they came in and they repaired it. Also, I did have a little bit of an issue with the vendor they used. Its the only authorized repair facility in the area. They dropped the ball a little bit with time. They got the part, and then they forgot to call me, and I had to call them after about three weeks after that.I paid that amount of money for a range and I expect to have it working, but Viking didnt really do anything. Its a little upsetting. I was expecting them to do something, but they just told me that it is what it is. And so, thats the only real issue. I waited about eight weeks from the time I got the stove until the time it was fixed. But the stove itself is doing great. I like the name of the brand and what I thought they stood for, and other than that, the quality of the range is incredible. We have one of the cast iron griddles. We use it a lot. We changed to one of the accessory pieces that they have that should come in cast iron, which we prefer over the stainless steel attachment that it comes with. But its great. We love it.

But, Im not gonna hassle with that because its not that easy. It slipped into my counter and Im not gonna pay someone because it keeps coming off. Also, the private place I bought the range from was not that great. They didnt advise me properly that with the microwave above the range, the heat from the range would eventually get the microwave digital reading to fail. The hood is inside the microwave and now, Im having trouble with it. But Im not gonna replace it with the same thing. So then, I would have to get a whole new configuration. Nevertheless, I would suggest my range to anyone. Ive already told a friend about it and my friend bought the same one.

We were building a home three years ago, and I looked up about Viking, Wolf and other ranges and decided to get a Viking. I thought it was a top-of-the-line product and I liked the sleek look of it compared to Wolf. Im now on my second Viking since the one that was initially put into my home did not heat properly and it did not cook right since the day it was installed. So eventually, the door wouldnt close completely and that was under some recall type of thing. Viking ended up replacing the entire unit. However, there is only one repair service here in Columbus that deals with Viking as far as I know. I keep being told thats because Viking is either charging too much money and/or wont supply the parts and I would love to see some more competition rather than just one repair service that I have to call and pay their prices to repair a Viking product. I have a lot of friends that have Viking, and we all have to use the same people to repair the products.

Weve had Viking in the past and the Viking refrigerator was in the house when we bought it. It was a new Viking, so we registered it. Its probably the model that was chosen, but to not be able to have water in the door is difficult. When I open the door and want to pull out that longer middle drawer, I cant without opening both doors. And if I want to pull out the right side drawer, I cant do that either without opening the door. Theres nothing I can do about the shelving or the way the drawers is pulled out. So, it isnt really all that convenient. We cook all the time and its difficult to arrange the refrigerator. A Sub-Zero is a better refrigerator for us.Also, were used to having a gas range, so Im not familiar with having electric. The rangetop doesn’t heat quickly and when I turn it off, it doesn’t turn off quickly either. So, its really a challenge to get it figured out on how long do I cook something. And the oven, too. It’s not calibrated properly. So what I normally would cook in 20 minutes takes closer to 30 minutes. I would not recommend Viking to a friend. The dishwasher is the same thing. Professional Refrigerator/freezer model #VCFF236SS002 - Purchased an existing home with barely-used 2012 Viking appliances. Within a week neither refrigerator nor freezer were holding temperatures. The shelves in freezer were also easily off-track. Took 3 days to reach Viking Corporation since it does not take calls on weekends or holidays, nor after 5pm ET. Once connected to Viking Corp service rep I learned that the appliance is under warranty for 30 more days. But the approved service provider/distributor for the state of WI is in IL, and the first available diagnostic appointment was one week out. The company rep at LV Distributors in IL gave a 50-50 chance that the service tech would be able to repair the refrigerator on the first visit, and could not estimate the time it would take to obtain necessary parts, nor when a tech would return for 2nd time. Calls to local high end appliance sellers & Viking owners about alternative service providers were fruitless. Reading Consumer Reports and other posts from owners in same circumstance makes it clear that this $3600 appliance is a bad choice if one wants a reliable, sturdy appliance.

We special ordered our Viking range in white on May 13, 2017 and were told it would be 6-8 weeks for delivery. Our range was delivered August 5th with no explanation of the delay. When our range was removed from its pallet and packing material removed, we discovered the door and lower cover panel were both dented. Our selling dealer quickly noted the damage, but installed the range with the promise to have both pieces replaced. It is now November 10th and we are finally scheduled to have the damaged pieces replaced on 11/18. We are patient people, but the delay in the original delivery date and the long wait for replacement parts seems unreasonable. No reason was ever given for either delay and that makes our experience with Viking only satisfactory. We were fortunate that the operation of our range was not compromised and have been using it since delivery in August. It performs flawlessly and does meet our cooking needs. However, the center burner doesnt seem to work correctly (it never goes to high) but we are hopeful that when the service tech comes to replace the dented pieces, he/she can make a simple adjustment. My husband and I do wish that there was direct communication from Viking beginning at the original order date. To date, we have never heard directly from Viking until this. Knowing the status of our order would have been much appreciated, given the substantial cost of our Viking.

I had my brand new Viking stove delivered on Nov. 28, 2012. I used the oven twice and, right before the holidays, around December 21st or so, my oven stopped working. Due to the holiday rush, I could only get the repairman from the store on December 26. He came, checked the stove and concluded that the spark unit needs to be replaced. Imagine that! Three weeks after the purchase, an essential part of the stove needs replacement. Today is January 7th, the store ordered the piece but Viking Company does not have it. It is on back order. I told them, “Guys, its the igniter. I dont know if youre supposed to do that.” One tech said, “Well, I ordered this part, but my boss says its another part.” I told him, “But your boss wasnt here diagnosing it originally.” So thats kind of ass-backwards and the guy was here for about four hours. I also liked the features and the style. But when I looked at the unit, it didnt look like the door was squared up. So I called it in to have them come out and adjust the door. I almost hated to do that but Viking is the Mercedes of ovens. I spent that kind of money and I expected everything to fit right and be squared up. When the technician came out, he took pictures of it, documented it and figured out what the problem was. It wasnt the door. It was the bezel, which he ordered. But he had also tried to see if there were ways that he could fix it without having to do it, but he couldnt. Then he came back another time but they had sent the wrong bezel. It didn’t fit because it didn’t have the right number of holes for the knobs. So he’s gonna come back out again and it will eventually get fixed. Its taking a little while but thats okay. It took a little while to get the oven built in the first place too. I was on the waiting list with the manufacturer first and then with the company I bought it from. I also got free shipping, which meant that the range took weeks to get here but that was okay. Besides, the company is backing up their product and Ive got a lot of respect for the company so far. If they keep the guy coming out here until the unit gets fixed, there wont be any problems. So far, I am happy. The range is very impressive. The idea is that this is not gonna be a throwaway one. The other one that came with the house was 17 years old and it hit the trash can. But hopefully, this one will last for many years and it’s one that’s worth repairing if something goes wrong. I also got a backsplash and a Viking dishwasher, and a friend of mine took a picture of the setup. He got a bunch of likes on Facebook.

I went to the store and looked at all the different refrigerator models. I was doing a kitchen remodel and I was going for a certain kind of look. I was looking at the GE Café and the KitchenAid that had the kinda industrial handles. I didn’t find Viking Refrigerators until my second or third trip. The thing that basically made me go to the Viking was that it had the handles that match my GE Café double oven. It looks very similar. Also, I was going back and forth between the French door and the side by side. But when I finally decided on the French door, and that was a whole process, the thing that drove me away from the GE and the KitchenAid was the inside design. I liked Vikings inside design the best. Some of the situations on the others were, when the door was open, you couldn’t open the vegetable drawer all the way unless you really, really open the door wide. Sometimes, the French door even blocks the drawers from opening. Another issue was that a lot of times, the shelves had an enter too at the back so things would fall down the back. I didn’t like the fact that it’s like if I put something on the shelf and if it’s small enough, it’s gonna end up falling down at the back of the refrigerator and I really didn’t want that hassle. But the bottom line is I like the look. The quality in terms of not having maintenance issues was good.

I’ve had friends with Viking and I thought it was a really good one. But mine has had a lot of trouble. My range was put together wrong so it burned out wires. It won’t work half of the time. I’ve only had it since November and I probably cooked on it three months out of all these months I’ve had it. It’s not really good. Viking sent someone to look at it and they worked on it one time, replaced some things, and got it going. But something else went wrong and maintenance people were sent to check it but Viking refused to pay for the service. They were supposed to get in touch with me to figure out what Viking is gonna do about my problem. The guys who worked on my unit said Viking just needs to send me a new one because mine never worked. We’ve spent a ton of time and I haven’t been able to use my range. It’s still sitting there. Viking got feedback from me and I’m still waiting on them to call me back. They won’t return my phone calls. I used my unit when it worked but I waited two months to fix it the first time. That’s so unsatisfactory. I need someone to fix my Viking.

Ive seen Viking Ranges in some upper-class homes and some friends of ours have them. My wife and I had a premium range, one of the chef cook ranges in another house but it wasn’t a Viking. So, when I looked around in Harway, one of the dealers had four models of Viking. They have a showroom floor that has almost every Viking range they made and then they have a couple of other brands as well. I pretty much knew I wanted the Viking one when I walked in there but I looked at the other one. There were a couple of range that when you put them on simmer, the simmer runs out completely different holes that you just think about the burner. The other range has big holes and it turns the gas down but if you really want the simmer, that may be too many holes to stay lit and it might be too much heat. The other one changes to an inner burner to do that. I thought that was cool but at the end of the day, theres just more stuff to go wrong. I looked at Viking and figured it out. Surprisingly, there was so little difference between them. You could get six burners in 36 inches’ range which is pretty good. And I liked the way Viking looks. Theyre very premium ovens. I also liked that the Viking burners were all the same size instead of having a simmer burner, a non-simmer burner, a big burner and a little burner. Theyre all identical and they all have a simmer feature so you don’t have to try to figure out and it’s one of those kinds of deals. Its designed a bit more for somebody that never forgets. The range I purchased is awesome. I ordered the 36-inch range which comes with a six-burner version. When the box came, it said it was a six burner but when we took it out, the range was the one with the griddle in the middle with its own four burners. I pulled the guys and told them that was the wrong stove. They pulled the box out and showed me the box that has the right part number with the right words on it. It was a big shock to us. I waited five weeks for the range to get here and I didn’t want to wait again. So, I had the range with the griddle installed. I was here when the guys installed it and I had a whole kitchen renovation done when adding this range. I was the only one who wanted and liked the six-burner one but now, I have four burners and the griddle works really nice. My wife also informed me that she liked the griddle one better. The burners work well and they put a lot of heat. Im on propane and theyre 15,000 PTV burners each so it turns out we could really cook something. And all the dishes and pots use the lowest setting now and that we don’t even need that high burner. I like being able to utilize one of the burner stove and the cooktop wont get hot enough. When I bought the range, I wasn’t trying to buy the griddle one but had I known I was getting it, the reps would have told me that there was a wooden cutting board that goes on the griddle. And it covers the griddle up so youre not looking at the ugly black griddle that gets naturally darker with time. Theres also the stainless-steel cover for it. The Viking Range stove itself has a dust-cover bottom. So, I was surprised that the Viking people didn’t try to upsell any of the options. I wanted the dust-cover bottom cause it keeps things from going under the range. These things are made like commercial ranges where theyre open at the bottom but most people don’t want that. So, I had to go back and buy that part. Then I found out that they had a wooden piece that goes in the griddle and the cover that goes over the griddle. I drove back from driving 27 miles to pick them up. I would have rather they showed me all that stuff when I bought the oven. The only reason I knew it was when I went on a Viking website and I saw all that. When the wooden thing that goes in the griddle, the cutting board and the cover first came in, they were wrong and the guy told me that he knew that I already had a bad experience. He looked and came back and told me that those were the wrong parts. So, he reordered them again so something is going on with Viking shipping. They cant put the right stuff in the right box and thats frustrating especially when youre on back order and I had to wait six weeks. When I got the stove, Viking gave me a discount coupon for their pots, pans and the skillets so I went back and bought a bunch of skillets and stuff using their discount which was really cool. Viking has a lot of accessories that were not in the store. You would never know about them unless you read their little coupon that you normally throw away. I ordered the big stainless spatula and spoon that hang and two of them are on back orders. But, the two I got were gorgeous and I’m going to hang them on the wall. If a person buys an $8,000 oven, Viking salesmen should sell up and show all the accessories. I love the Viking equipment but their process of shipping the equipment is flawed. I don’t like ordering things and getting the wrong things. Im okay with the griddle now although its not what I ordered.

Viking has always been one of the top brands to buy in status, quality and functionality. I’m 63-years-old and I’ve had Viking for 40 years. I just purchased a range for a second home, and I’m satisfied with the quality of the product. The whole package is good. The quality of the stainless steel and the knobs too. They also moved up to LED light, which is nice. I am a builder in Manhattan and I do some high-end residential and commercial work. I am not a cook but I recognize quality when I see and work with it. Viking is one of the brands that I would always recommend.

Viking Range was fined for ranges that turn on by themselves (article dated 4/17/17) for 15 models sold between 2007 & 2014. We have a Viking Range that was purchased in 2017 when our home was under construction. 11/9/19 the oven ignited by itself in the middle of the night; our fire alarm went off & woke us. The house was filled with smoke; we have to flip the circuit breaker to turn the oven off. It was super-heated & left marks on our brick backsplash. It also melted the igniter & safety features of the oven, as well as the mechanisms for the sliding racks. Clearly, Viking has not remedied the faulty part issues that caused this.I called them & their blanket answer is thats not one of the recall ranges, albeit the exact circumstances around the previous problem were evident. The specialist that serviced the oven said it looked exactly like the previous problems, although the part in the oven read as the updated version. The customer service rep stated to send her the service notes & shed forward to management, but didnt think repair would be covered (for new racks and the melted parts due to their faulty parts = $1,600) because the range was not under recall. For $14,000, youd expect better response, customer service, and quality out of a product.

Viking oven quite beautiful blueberry blue, came with amazing home we purchased, number of problems in the 5 years we have been here. Currently the door to the small oven is hanging open, we cannot fix it. Called and left voice mail messages for the service manager and NO CALL BACKS. We cannot do business like this and are positively shocked that no one cares enough about such a valuable brand to look after maintaining or building the value. Sounds like its almost game over from reading about other peoples unfortunate experiences.

My husband’s company does construction and they work with Viking Ranges. I was redoing my kitchen, so I put Viking appliances in it. I like my refrigerator and my microwave, but I’ve had a lot of problems with the range. The first one I had, the motherboard kept burning out. They replaced it four times. It broke on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. And then Viking replaced the oven back in January but there’s still different issues that keep coming up. I had the bake module replaced, but that did not solve the problem. I did manage to cook Easter dinner this year. At least when the oven shuts off I’m able to turn it back on. The other way, when it shuts off, there was no turning it on. So, I had to cook all my holiday dinners on the barbecue grill. So we’re back to square one. If this is a lemon, they might have to replace it again.I had some not so pleasant experiences with Viking, but Sheryl has been very helpful and good. They just cant understand what’s going on. They want to send another repairman from a different appliance company to see if a different set of eyes can see something different. But to be honest, I’m not holding out any hope for that. I would not recommend a Viking Range. They’re expensive appliances. When you go online, people aren’t that happy with the range either.

Viking Ranges is the absolute worst. I started May 15th trying to get two sets of two products and they were finally installed yesterday. So, it was three months to get these products. And I couldnt use my oven because the door wouldnt close. And twice, the wrong parts were sent. They even said they would definitely get the correct parts to me via mail but I never got them, so then I went to customer service. Awful. I got the right parts only on the third time because I called the customer service woman who was terrific and helped me as much as she could. Ive also called an appliance dealership that I work with in Pennsylvania and talked to the repair people here in New York who sell Viking and they have both said theyre not recommending anybody to buy Viking anymore because their repairs are so awful.

20 years ago we went with a Vulcan, a true industrial appliance and after years with that, we decided that we wanted something more refined. Viking Ranges features and design fit what we wanted so we bought it. I wish it was more affordable but we love it. I have three favorite features of the range. One is the thermostatic griddle because that was one of the big things that the Vulcan did not have. We had the combination broiler griddle so we had to manually manage the temperature on the griddle, which was a ridiculous amount of effort. Thus we didnt use it much. Having the thermostatic griddle now makes it very usable because it makes it simple - turn it on, set the temperature, wait 10 minutes and cook. Another favorite feature is the convection. I use it almost all the time. The last one is actually an accessory but I do really like it and thats having the wok grate. There was one defect with the range and we worked through the dealer that we bought it from and it was good. They thought at first that it was a defective grease trap so they just sent out a replacement. When that didnt fit, they decided to look a little closer. In the end, it turned out that the griddle assembly was not welded together properly, thus the reason that the grease trap didnt fit. The problem was addressed and weve had no other issues.

My refrigerator has leaked for 10 months. I have a side-by-side freezer and refrigerator each freestanding unit, but they are mounted in together. My freezer was reinstalled crooked, and now I’m waiting to hear back from Viking to get it adjusted and installed correctly. I first reported the incident with my original refrigerator in July of 2018. It took me 10 months and 11 service calls to get my unit replaced, and many windows of times waiting for someone to come and service it as recent as yesterday because my Viking refrigerator and my Viking freezer had two different badges on them -- the tag on it that says Viking. One says Viking Professional, and it’s 2x4 inches large, and the other one is 1 inch by 2, 3 inches wide, so they dont match. They sent someone out to fix the badges, and the repairperson was not able to because of the badge that was sent. So, I took time out of my day to be home during my service window, only for him to tell me, “Sorry, I can’t do anything for you. You’ll have to call again.” I would tell others to buy a Sub-Zero instead.

My first issue was that EVERY drawer cracked and they refused to replace them when it was clear that the initial cracks happened at installation. Pirch, where I bought the unit, did the honorable thing and resent new ones. This was in the 5th moment of ownership. Thanks Viking! My Viking fridge is now completely out after 9 months and they will get to me after 10 days because they are busy, despite the fact that I told them I have small children. They use 3rd parties who dont care about anything, except to bill Viking. They allege to have fixed their issues and service with the ownership, but that BS as the product is not impressive and the service is a zero. I gave 2 stars for the products good looks, but its all downhill after that, especially after 13k spent! Pos note: Customer Service lady was friendly/respectful.

The people who repaired at our beach house in Florida did a great job and they were very nice. They got our Viking fixed. But when I spend that kind of money on appliances, I shouldnt have to have them fixed, especially two of them the day they were installed. The way the world is today, it took eight weeks to get somebody to fix them. It was not a good situation. We will not be buying any more Viking appliances, though we bought a lot in the past and they look great. We’ve been very, very disappointed with the quality of them. It has gone downhill. Weve had problems with a lot of the appliances we bought lately, starting with ones we bought for our ranch. The quality of Viking is very good. The stovetop and the oven get hot really quickly. I wish it was a little bigger but that was a decision we made and I didnt realize that it would feel as small as it is. But, it doesnt have any fancy electronics and thats a bit hard to get used to at first. We also used to have a griddle but its okay. We have a better functioning stove or oven and its definitely an improvement from what we had last. However, Im having some trouble. When the Viking arrived, it took some time to get it installed because our kitchen was under renovation. It was more than a month. We got a range, and with it, we also got a dishwasher and that came dented. When we called, the reps were like, “Why didn’t you open it right away?” And were like, “We were told that it was going to be a very, very long wait because of COVID. And so we ordered it in April, knowing we were renovating in June.” The company that we bought it through was very nice, and they ended up working with us on it. So it turned out to not be a problem. But they came to replace the dented door of the dishwasher and they brought another dented door. So then we waited again. It took a long time to get it all settled. On the oven, the light shows that its preheating or that its on. Sometimes, we can hear the gas lighting. Also, there have been numerous times where I come back to look at my potatoes and the oven has been off the whole time and this happens a lot. But it’s not like it was smelling gas in the house. So we’re starting to be able to piece together that there’s something that’s not right. It has happened at least seven times where Ill start the oven, it will be hot, Ill put my food in, Ill go back, and then the whole meal is ruined because its not hot anymore. But its on 400.

Our refrigerator is very convenient, large, and has good quality. The only thing I dont like about it is that adjusting the temperature, which is two little controls up on the top, is not very clear and it doesnt read out the exact temperature, just has these little bars. So, it takes a lot of time to figure out how to use it, how to set it, and get it to the right temperatures. At the very bottom, it freezes up and the water gets into the drain in the back on the bottom and we once had to thaw it out ourselves. Another time, we had to call a repair person cause there was no way for us to do it. If only they have as many other refrigerators have where you set the temperature and it shows you what its set for and what its actually reading, and I would make sure that they have improved the heating unit that would prevent the drain in the freezer from freezing.

We purchased a Viking Range and Microwave 5 years ago and we believed it would be a wise choice but it was anything but. The quality was poor. The oven door never closed right and the oven light stayed on all the time. And after many complaints we finally had to have service to change the hinges that never worked right. The bill for that was $600 and the electric oven takes way too long to heat up and the thermostat had to be changed twice. The microwave just failed and that is costing $400 to fix. I will never recommend Viking or the dealer Pacific Sales in So Cal to anyone, dont waste your money on Viking. They are not the company of the past and the quality and durability is no longer there, as for Pacific Sales after they take your money they are no longer interested in satisfying their customers needs. This is the worst refrigerator on the market. In the 2.5 years we have owned the unit, we have had the following issues: handle broke off the ice drawer, handle broke off the vegetable crisper drawer, the hinge that keeps the door from hyper-extending has busted twice, the fan went bad, AND on top of that there is a faulty design with the circulation system that is supposed to circulate air from the freezer to the refrigerator -- it causes everything on the top shelf of the refrigerator to freeze, so we cant put anything on the top shelf (I talked to many Viking employees who admit they are aware of the problem and theres nothing they can do about it)! I just called customer service to plead for a new crisper drawer since our warranty just expired and it is clearly a faulty design. The handle is not secure on the drawers and breaks off very easily and they said, No, you will have to pay $213 PLUS shipping and handling for a new plastic drawer. The last refrigerator we owned cost $10,000 less and we didnt have a single problem in 10 years. Please dont buy a Viking refrigerator!

We have a refrigerator which is only a few years old but my wife wanted the ones with industrial-looking handles so we bought a Viking Refrigerator. Also, a friend said that they would be better than Thermadors and Viking has a good reputation. But it had issues with the cooling that was running almost 24/7. It kept running and running and never shuts off except for five minutes and it will run for another six or seven hours. Then, opening the freezer door, it looked like a mist was coming in from the cooling bins where the cool air comes in. According to the sales guy, this indicates too much humidity but he didn’t really know where this was coming from.We contacted the retailer and a guy came by and said there might be an issue. He suggested waiting until it’s in its final place because its still in the living room. Then, hed come by to level out the refrigerator and freezer appropriately and hopefully, the issue would be addressed. If not, they will have to provide some parts. It was a little disheartening considering it’s a brand new unit we paid a lot of money for. Therefore, we will know more in two weeks once it’s in its final place in the kitchen.

We have had a Viking range for almost our entire married life. We lost our range in the tornado the day after Christmas, and we did not rebuild. We bought another house. The range that we had in here was an LG and it was a piece of crap. I had to turn off the air conditioning because the gas burner would blow the flame to the right and it wouldnt heat anything. The broiler never got hot enough. I could put my hand under it. It did not do anything it was supposed to do. So, we went back to a Viking. Our other Viking was a double oven, griddle, grill, four-burner and it was wonderful. Our kitchen is not that big this time, so we just got a four-burner gas range and the single oven. The broiler works and the burners have power. I like the center thing where I can put an oval pot in the center. The fellows who delivered it were above and beyond. They spent a lot of time here, carted away our other range and got this one situated. At first, we thought it was gonna stick out from the wall too much and wed have to relocate the gas line a bit, but once they put it in place, it was fine.

The quality is good and I like that I can really see well in there. I’m very satisfied. I bought it from an appliance store, and I can’t say that they know what they’re doing. I also needed a range, but the appliance company didn’t set in there right. The range arent as good as they used to be, but our refrigeration is good and I would recommend it to anybody.

We have Viking range, oven, refrigerator and microwave but after spending money with a Viking refrigerator, were not very happy. The icemaker doesnt work really well and the drawer that the ice goes into is always sticking. We cant always push it in its place perfectly. The seal around the freezer door has been giving us problems ever since it was delivered here. Even after resetting the temperature in the refrigerator section, weve had issues of things freezing in there, and its not been functioning. Weve been calling the dealer we bought the refrigerator from, and theyve been coming out. But for buying quality stuff like this, its not what we expected. My Bentley doesnt give me this type of trouble. Its worth a lot more money but its on the same par. Its that type of quality were expecting. Nevertheless, our experience with the dealer was great. Theyve been great. I think theyre Viking-approved repair people trained by Viking. They came on a timely fashion but I expected the problems to be fixed.
