My husband enjoys cooking. We were looking at other ranges all around the same price and we found Viking. It was on sale at the store and we were saving a couple of thousand bucks. So far, it seems it has a good quality. I like the blue light that lights up the knobs. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to see what I’m doing. I also like the way the racks inside the oven slide nicely. The sales rep was friendly. But after the purchase was made my husband had a few questions, and they weren’t so quick to talk to him or call him back like they were before the purchase. Also, I find it odd that it doesn’t have a self-cleaning oven. When I turn the burners on they don’t always ignite and burn evenly the way I would expect them to. I do the baking and seeing that it’s Christmas, I’ve been making cookies that I can only bake in the middle rack. It’s funny because in all the advertisements they show a door opens full of all kinds of goodies on all three levels, and I can’t cook that way. I have the middle rack and that’s it. Anything on top or bottom burns. And they’re not removable racks, except for the middle one. The top and the bottom are on roller slide, that’s why they move so easily. I can’t just pull it out and move it up or down.

We did a lot of research online so that’s how we figured out Viking is a good brand name. I like it. We bought a whole set of Viking. We have the fridge, dishwasher, hood, stove, and microwave. I like that the refrigerator makes ice pretty fast because I like to drink something cold. It also has a separate compartment for different sizes like for fruits and vegetables. I also like that I can take everything off to wash it. It’s very easy to clean. But then when we called because the fridges icemaker was not making ice, I haven’t heard back anything yet. I got it from one of the distribution partners so the date might not be within the warranty. In the end, we read out on my manual and tried to defrost everything and now it works. That means the quality is good, but in the end, they could never resolve anything for us. We just figured out and did everything ourselves.

The ice cube crusher/cube maker has broken twice. The first time it was still under warranty but it took over a month for the company to send a repairman. The second time that the ice crusher/cube maker broke, it was just out of warranty. The very rude Viking phone representative said that the part (ice cube tray with auger) was back ordered for over 3 months due to the faulty design of the unit noting that the plastic parts keep breaking. The cost of this plastic until was ~$450.00!!! We reinstalled it and it still doesnt work. What a piece of **. I would never recommend purchasing this professional refrigerator/freezer. DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

Ive known about Viking forever and I chose them because of the aesthetics of their pieces, their higher quality and that they would last longer. I like the height of the refrigerator I got and the size of the shelf because its easy to reach everything. However, I had a frustrating incident with their product which I never had with my old crap refrigerator. It appeared that somehow ice had formed in the circulation system between the freezer and the refrigerator, which caused the refrigerator to not be able to cool down. It took many weeks and two different people to come out to try to fix it. There was no sense of urgency. Viking was recommending the first repair company that didnt work on weekends, which was unheard of. Viking also didnt have enough time slots open to serve everyone. The fridge was fixed but there was a runaround in terms of payment and the Viking people didnt seem to know what they were doing. Viking needs to up its customer service game. They cant charge what they do for a refrigerator and not have 24/7 phone support and people who know what theyre doing on the other end. In this day and age, they cant meet the expectations. Thats not acceptable for this kind refrigerator at this cost. I could have gotten a better service with Sears or GE. I wont be buying a Viking again and I would go with somebody else just on the customer service experience Ive had with them. Overall, the refrigerator is a beautiful product but there is no support for it.

Our Viking fridge is not very old, but we’ve had multiple things break on it. The customer service has not been great and we haven’t gotten things resolved. Our ice machine is broken and we’ve been waiting on a part for a couple of weeks. The door on the refrigerator is off because, apparently, it’s heavier than the freezer so we have an alignment issue with the exterior of the refrigerator, which we heard we can’t fix. We also had two of our interior condiment holders break. Those have been replaced though. We should’ve bought a Sub-Zero. We probably would not buy another Viking.

We bought a house and it already had a Viking range and some other Viking appliances. I had an opportunity to use the old range, and I liked it. It was a good range but it was like 20 years old and essentially needed to be replaced. So I went with Viking because I had an opportunity to use it and the price also played a role a bit when compared to Wolf, and then the features. I had issues with the oven not working. I bought the range through Best Buy and they had to bring two service people out to get it fixed. Ive been a little disappointed that I did have issues with the oven not working and a couple other things but, overall, its a good range.

I was looking into a more professional level of cooking appliances. My husbands parents have had Viking for years and he really liked them so we just went with that one instead of a Wolf. Theyre all very similar but I liked the name recognition and experience of Viking. The dealer was excellent, very knowledgeable about the product and helpful with questions. Our Viking range is of excellent quality. We have a dual range and a cooktop thats propane so we really like the feature of the convection and all the options in the oven. We like the size of it too. We have six burners and it definitely functions with big holiday events. And when we had any repair issues, which had been minimal, they were very quick to get us a repair guy here and they did a great job.

We have the whole Viking suite in our kitchen for 16 years and its built really sturdy. We have two refrigerators, two dishwashers, three ovens, the microwave, and the range top with the downdraft. The size of the refrigerator works really well, the space inside of it is great. We use one for all food and the other one is a beverage refrigerator. I use Executive Appliances for all my services. Its easy to get parts. Its easy to get things fixed. Viking is the best you can get out there. I recommend it to anybody whos going to do a kitchen suite. Its better to have everything thats the same and all of the components go well together.

Viking is American made, which I like. We have all-Viking in our kitchen, other than the refrigerator. Then, we needed a new refrigerator, so we bought a Viking. But the freezer is not working properly and it has been going on for a few weeks now. Their people already came out twice to try and fix it but they have been unsuccessful and they’ve replaced a part the last time. Other than that, the Viking reps are very nice and cooperative. We’ve got other Viking appliances that work extraordinarily well. We have a Viking oven, a cooktop, and a microwave and they’re great. There just needs to be an adjustment in the operation of the condenser of the refrigerator. I’m not happy now. I spent $10,000 for the refrigerator and I expect it to work properly.

They sent a service man to adjust, then it worked. The oven would not stay lit & had 2 servicemen out to check the problems. After the range was dismantled the problem was found (fan plugs not connected) & put back together. Not happy with the store that I purchased it from. NO help at all get problem resolved. The quality of the service from Viking is pretty good and their reps have been great. On the very top of the refrigerator door where you put the butter, it has these little flimsy plastic doors that hang over. When you shut the refrigerator, the plastic doors open and the butter comes out. Viking could make those a little bit more stationary or stick more. I also had to have someone come because the ice maker wasnt working. But the problem was they could only come and service our house on Tuesdays and Thursdays but wed be at work. So its hard to have someone come out to service the ice maker. They were great about getting to send someone out but I had to cancel it because I thought I was going to be able to have someone here. I cant have someone here all day and then theyll call and give me a two-hour window that day.

We have been very disappointed from the first days when we purchased our full Viking appliance kitchen. In December of 2010, I had my kitchen remolded and bought an 8 burner, double oven Viking Pro range. When I owned a restaurant in the mid 80s we had a Viking range and I loved it. It cooked evenly and baked, roasted, broiled - fantastic. So Viking was naturally my choice. I paid around $12,000 for the range and $4,000 for the vent hood. The first year after it was installed, I did not use it much. My Mother became ill and I went to take care of her. When I started using it last year, it worked fine for a few months. Then in October of 2013, the oven started to cool down after an hour or so of cooking. Thank goodness I purchased a warranty for five years. The Viking certified repairman came out in November 3 times until a part was replaced that was recalled or so they said. The ovens and burners worked fine when the repairmen left. Two hours later, nothing worked - not even the burners which had no previous problems. Nothing would come on. Three more times repairmen come out. Finally in February, it was fixed until May when it started to do the same thing. The oven would not hold heat. Two more service trips and two months later, it was once again fixed. 10 days later after cooking and baking every day, the oven did not cook properly. My cheesecake and pies were not done in the middle and the bottom crusts were uncooked. A 3-lb chicken took 3 hours to roast and still was not hot enough to be safe to eat. A week later, the repair service is out again. Only this time he only puts his thermometer in the oven and after 30 min. says its holding temp. properly. Cant tell you how frustrated I am. I am not an amateur cook. I was a chef for 15 years and I used good ole recipes that have worked more than a thousand times in the correct time limits. Even after adding an additional hour to hour and a half baking time, pies and cakes were raw in the middle. Repair man doesnt understand it should be cooking properly. Hello, I showed him one of the pies I kept - nothing to say. Hate this oven by now. Cant understand, unless it cant work when used daily, for more than an hour. I will never buy a Viking range again. Bought my son a nice LG. Works beautifully - no problems at all.

We had gotten a Samsung refrigerator before and it didn't work well. My husband always wanted a higher-end refrigerator. Viking was always the number one on our list. The purchase of our Viking Refrigerator went really well. We bought it at Pacific Sales, which is the higher end sales part of Best Buy. The delivery was good. There was one issue though. The handle wasn't tight enough, so it eventually became very loose. But when we called for service, they came out right away.

I have owned Viking appliances before like the stovetop and the double oven in my previous home and now in a different home, my Viking refrigerator is doing great. It keeps everything cold and the frozen food frozen and makes ice. Weve been well pleased. I had an excellent experience with the Viking dealer, too. I do real estate development work and have used the company Ferguson for a lot of things and they do an excellent job. Their guy is very knowledgeable. He can answer all the questions and was very helpful to make sure that we were fully informed on what we need to be informed on. It was good price and he handled everything perfectly. Viking is high quality, top-of-the-line and a great product to invest in. They did the gas cooktop in a good way for a modern look. Through the years, they kept it looking the way I like it. Its of great quality, too. I had a great experience thats why Im buying a Viking again.

Ive had my Viking range for about six weeks and I just started to get used to the noise of the fan. But so far, it cooks very well. I’ve always heard of Viking and a lot of places were pushing it. Their reps were excellent and they knew very well. They answered all my questions. They even said how much they love Viking and I’m going to love it. Then, because of my situation with the hood range recirculating, I was told it was better than Wolf and the one that I got is a much safer situation. I have the 3 Series so it’s different. It’s not like the 5 or the 7 and I love the 3 too. It’s just perfect for what I have on the top. It holds my pots nice and its a nice stove for my house. It was also much prettier looking and I liked it better instead of the red knob. I like its knobs versus my old type of stove which was electric. I also like that the Viking is very clear-cut simple. The range is of very good quality, very solid, stern and very powerful. When I used to fry stuff, I used to get oil everywhere. When I fry stuff on here, I’d barely see any oil. It means that the simmer is more professional than what I used to have. Plus, the cleanup is so easy.

I’m in real estate and I see Viking refrigerators at homes and I thought they were consistent kind of somewhat to Sub-Zero, but they’re horrible. The fridge keeps breaking as far as the doors and the cooling system and the ice machine doesn’t work. I made lots of phones calls and I’ve been talking to their customer service team several times. They ordered the parts that were in back order and took months to get here. The first time something broke, I was without the doors and the condiment shelving for about three months. And when I called, they said they’re still in back order and they couldnt tell me when they’d get here. Finally, they got here. And a month later, two more things broke. The cooling system has broken twice and the freezer stopped cooling once. And then I had to wait for parts for that to come in. I lost hundreds of money in food over the several times when it was broken and we didn’t have a fridge. It’s a really bad experience with the quality of the product, customer service and repairs. They should have items in stock that don’t take three to four months to get, especially when I’m spending $13,000 on a refrigerator. The timeframe to get the part or get the service company to come out is pretty frustrating overall. And they need to improve the product. I would not recommend it to anybody.

This is my email to Middleby Residential who own Viking: Hello, On 7/19/2016, I purchased the following appliances for a total price of $42,500: 1-Viking Professional 7 Series VGR7488BSS 48; Wide 24; Deep Natural Gas Range, 1-Viking VCFB5363LSS 36; Professional 5 Series Upright Freezer with 19.2 cu. ft. Microwave Oven with 16; Diameter Turntable, 2-Viking VDW302SS 24; 3 SERIES Energy Star Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 14 PLACE, 1-Viking VRCO5240DRSS 24; Outdoor Series Undercounter Beverage Center with 5.3 cu. ft.I chose Viking because of its reputation as an elite brand and their strong commitment to customer service, even though lesser brands seemed to offer more gadgets for less. My hope was that a big investment in appliances would mean less maintenance headache down the line and the Viking name will preserve the resale value for my house. Unfortunately, Ive had nothing but trouble since. Ive had multiple issues with the fridge (4 axial fans replaced, Defrost terminator replaced, defective bolt in fridge door replaced), the freezer (rust on the ice drawer), both dishwashers (electronic card/display already replaced on one and currently needs replacement on the other, Diverter valve replaced on the other), the microwave (electronic card/display currently needs replacement. It is worth mentioning that the appliances werent in use until late January 2017 since the house was still under construction. When all these issues started, Ive contacted your customer service number and was referred to one of your certified repair services, Executive Appliance Service in Garden Grove, CA. They can confirm all the issues mentioned above as they made NUMEROUS service calls to my house. I was about to call them again to replace the electronic display for both the dishwasher & the microwave when I realized that the amount of times Ive had to service those appliances is excessive & abnormal. Ive had to purchase a very basic appliance package for a guest house at the same time Ive purchased the Viking package and I havent had a single issue with them.Thats why I decided to to share my concerns with you and ask what could be done for me. Did I purchase what would be called a lemon in car terminology? Can you send someone to take a look at them? How can you help me with all the issues I mentioned & restore my trust in your brand? Thank you very much for your help & understanding. Looking forward to receiving your response.Their response was to cover parts only for the dishwasher. They wouldnt do anything about the microwave and said that rust inside the freezer is a cosmetic issue therefore would only give me %15 off their ice drawer which came out to $218.37. When I said that Id want them to cover parts and labor for the dishwasher & microwave, they refused. The appliances I purchased are most definitely defective. There are many similar complaints on the Better Business Bureau website. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!

We installed all Viking appliances when we built our home. Thinking we had made a great decision on a high end appliance line. It has been very frustrating dealing with these appliances. The dishwasher stopped working and it was more to have it fixed than to purchase a new one. The double ovens have been running 75 degrees high after a year. After many expensive service calls they still are not fixed. The double sided refrigerator has been replaced once and the current refrigerator freezes food that is in certain areas of the refrigerator as well as we cannot regulate the temperature in the freezer, causes food to thaw. We have had many expensive service calls with no success in resolving this very frustrating problem. Viking appliances are beautiful but there is obviously a serious problem with their products.

I wanted to get a very solid looking refrigerator, but it needed to fit in the existing space, which was a little tricky. I had a choice between Viking and one other. But I liked the way the Viking French door refrigerator looks, the layout, and the fact that it fit in the slot. The dealer has been excellent but they only delivered to the garage and they dont do the installation for liability reasons, at least from Mount Vernon location. So I had to hire someone to install the fridge. One issue that I find that in the refrigerator section is if Ive got lettuce or something near the back, the fridge will freeze it. So I just turned down the temperature in the refrigerator to see if that would do it and so far, its working fine. I like my Viking refrigerator - its very solid, looks well-made and has a nice warranty.

We had a custom kitchen built in Texas that I’ve had Viking products. Of the high-end brands, they were the least expensive and they were very reliable. But the quality of their refrigerator is not great at all. I would’ve been better off going to Home Depot. We’re on our third fridge from Viking. The first fridge we bought, we were told that it was a floor model, brand new, so we bought that one. It was shipped to us and we installed it. Three months later it broke. I called the Viking service tech. There is only one service tech in the Colorado area, so it took a while for him to get to me. He opened up the back of the fridge and said that it is a used fridge and it’s not under warranty. He looked up the serial number and he found out that that fridge was actually already warrantied by Viking and it was supposed to be destroyed. Then Viking West Coast and Viking East Coast, the two corporate offices got into a pissing match on who was responsible for it. So we were caught in the middle of food that wasn’t cold… while they tried to figure out who was gonna warranty it because Viking West Coast said it’s already been warrantied and its not their problem because we bought it from an East Coast dealer. It eventually got up to one of the VPs at Viking corporate and they said Viking East Coast will take care of it. They sent me a replacement refrigerator that the shipper dropped off the back of the truck. And then we rejected that fridge. Then they told us, “I’m sorry but that was the last fridge in North America.” The next fridge was on a set of containers coming over from China. And that’s when I found out that Frigidaire made their fridge. I told them I’m not paying an extra thousand dollars for a Frigidaire then. We eventually got one that was supposed to be going to one of their preferred dealers to market. It was a new fridge - a new model, because they weren’t making the old model anymore. And it’s been working ever since.

I just built a $150,000,000 house last year which I dont live in but I had remodeled my kitchen in 2000 and the Viking Range hood went in and I just knew I wanted to put the Viking stove under it. There was no reason to, everything was working and I quite frankly, forgot all about it and bought another house. I have a second home now but then the stove stopped working. Since I already have the range hood, which I love, I bought the stove to go with it. This is a very high-end appliance city so if someone has this problem I go, What a difficult position to be put in. The top of this range is great and heats up. It looks fabulous and fits beautifully with the range hood and in the space that it was designed to go in. However, the installation of the electrical for the oven is a nightmare. Theres a problem figuring out where to put the electrical box cause it doesnt fit under the stove. So, I have to cut up a cabinet or a wall. Im dissatisfied that they sold a product that cannot be installed unless its a new build. Im a real estate agent. And if Im selling a house and see a Viking range in the kitchen, Im immediately going to start thinking if its installed correctly. They should phase it out.

Weve owned Viking products for years in different houses. Over the years, their products have improved. Weve just spent about $40,000 in Viking products, in building a new home. The refrigerator we got from them appears to be fine. They built a nice product. I dont have high expectations with a refrigerator. It either keeps stuff cold or frozen. We have a separate Viking ice maker thats not part of the freezer or refrigerator, and its a nicely constructed piece of equipment. My only issue was with their dishwasher that immediately leaked. Moreover, I was in a new home without a dishwasher for two months because they couldnt deliver parts. We just got the dishwasher back a couple of days ago. The Viking dealer was good, except with their service with the dishwasher. We live in a small town in Arizona and they are the only game in town. But theres no excuse for our spending thousands of dollars on a piece of equipment that comes defective from the factory and then it takes two months to get a replacement part. Its just not acceptable We havent had any issues so far with any of the other equipment, which is good. Our Viking products sometimes had service-related issues, so theyre not as durable as some of their competitors stuff, but they certainly are attractive in their features. Ive had both good and bad experiences with Viking products, so I’m holding my breath that we don’t have any other issues. Viking has been challenged publicly on the quality of their product. So, Im hoping that they have improved their manufacturing process and their items are more durable than they were in the past.

This is my first Viking Range. Granted, it’s one of the lower end models, but still not cheap. I was very disappointed with the incredibly loud vibration noise made by the convection oven. Repair/ motor and fan replacement was unsuccessful. Seems it’s the back vent that vibrates? Not the fan. Still can’t use when I have people over because it’s in my “open concept” kitchen. I like the quality of the Viking and they seemed to be the only one of the few who had the type of configuration we wanted. Our Viking fridge is great and it works well for what we need. It has a lot of space, and the space is very well designed overall. I bought the unit at Pacific Sales in Best Buy, and it took a while to order a Viking from them. The dealer doesn’t usually have them in stocks. I had to wait for two weeks for them to be available. The installation process was a bit of a journey of its own. The people in the store did their best but they are not very knowledgeable about what exactly was needed for the installation. But the people who installed the unit were really knowledgeable. They came to my house four times, so I got to know them a bit. What they do is they install high-end appliances, and theyre the ones who know exactly what needs to be done and in what order. So, I think it will be better if customers like us can speak to somebody that is knowledgeable after we purchased, so they can tell us exactly what to do because theres a complexity in terms of the water line and where the power outlet needs to be.So, this company came to my house four times during the course of two weeks. One time, we were missing a part. And then they came, and they couldn’t install it because we didn’t have the right cabinet dimensions in. I, as a consumer, could have saved a lot of time if I just had one phone call with somebody who would explain things to me and give me the specific details. When you buy a piece of equipment that is $12,000, a phone call like that should be granted. If I was buying a $1,000 refrigerator, I wouldn’t expect that type of service. Other than that, Im very satisfied with the product and I would recommend Viking.

Vikings customer service was outstanding. The guy that remodeled my house was pretty cuckoo, in no real detail or into especially for that kind of stuff. There were six appliances here that are all Viking and the reps worked with me very nicely about getting all the model numbers and the serial numbers. We got them all registered. There was never any question that it was a maintenance issue or a warranty issue. The only drawback I see about the refrigerator is that when I pull open the drawer of the icemaker, ice falls behind the drawer and into the cabinet where I cant get those loose cubes out. Still, its a great product.

Ive used Viking Ranges in the last 2-3 houses that Ive owned over the years. During the first purchase, I was looking for a commercial type range. I investigated what ranges were available so I looked at consumer ratings and decided to purchase Viking. I never had a problem with the first Viking that I owned. However, I had a problem with quality with the latest one Ive purchased. I had a technician come out for 5-6 times and when we still couldnt get it resolved. I called them and they offered to replace it. I wasnt really that happy with the dealer. I dont know if Id still go back there. I was trying to decide between Viking and another oven. Their oven would take a while to get so I went with the Viking, and it didnt come in as quickly as I had anticipated. Nevertheless, I love it. I have the dual range so I have the electric oven, the gas cooktop and two ovens. I love the convenience of having the two ovens. I have lots of room when I cook big meals. The surface of the stove is great because I have lots of burners that I can use. I also have the big overhead stand and the heat lamps. It makes it a lot easier to cook and I like to cook. Its a great oven for cooking and baking.

Viking VCBB5361RSS 36 built-in is crap. Weve gone through 2 of these now and the second one is dying after 4 years. Viking repair has been here 4 times in a year. Every part has been replaced and it is still dying. Its a beautiful unit but its completely unreliable. Viking has no idea how to make refrigerators. We thought we would give them a second chance and replaced the first one with another thinking that all the bugs Viking had were worked out. Surely they would have figured out how to make a fridge by the time we got #2 but no! Weve had a terrible repair record with this one too. Come on Viking! Its a great fridge, lets get this worked out.

For the love of God, do not spend your hard earned money on Viking applianc
For the love of God, do not spend your hard earned money on Viking appliances. I purchased an entire kitchen appliance set from an authorized dealer in 2009, spending about $20k. Within the first year of purchase, my top-of-the-line built-in fridge stopped working and it took them more than a week to repair and thank God it was under warranty. A couple of weeks ago, my dishwasher, which I have used maybe 20 times, stopped functioning. I called Viking and discovered that it only came with a 1-year warranty and that I was responsible for the labor portion. **, I spent almost 2 grand and you need to tell me that it only comes with a 2-year warranty. The following represents my email conversations with the Viking rep who basically doesnt give a ** about a customer who just 3 years ago gave them so much business:My first email to them: “Purchase Date: 08/05/09; Type of Appliance: Dishwasher; Model Number: VDB325SS. Dear Sir/Madam: Less than 3 years ago, I purchased an entire kitchen appliance set consisting of fridge, stove, hood, and dishwasher totaling close to $20k. However, I am writing to you today to express my dissatisfaction with the purchase of the dishwasher referenced above. While we have only used it about 20 times, I discovered that your company only warrants the parts for 3 years and not the labor portion. Consequently, I had to pay $305 in labor to repair the unit. To be specific, through Viking, I contacted Airflo in Van Nuys, CA, and their technician came out and upon inspection, he stated that, due to lack of frequent use, the circulation pump had gone bad. He said this was common for this type of model and to use the dishwasher at least once per week.”“The technician further stated that had I purchased the appliance just months later (early 2010), Viking would have covered both parts and labor for 3 years. Upon hearing that, I became extremely upset at the fact that here, I spent almost $2000 for a professional brand dishwasher that came only with a 1-year labor coverage which seems kind of unreasonable as this warranty is comparable to basic units costing $200. I honestly do not think I should be obligated to pay the $305 especially when months later, you decided to extend your coverage. In all fairness, taking into consideration the extraordinary circumstances, Viking should reimburse the labor charge which I paid. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.”Their response: Im sorry for the issues you have encountered with your dishwasher. As far as the warranty, the changes to the Viking warranty were implemented on 05/01/11 not in 2010. Im sorry for the misinformation you have received. Your unit would have a full 1-year warranty from your purchase date. At the end of your warranty period, you would be responsible for the charges. Thank you.”My response: I believe my concern was not the exact date when Viking implemented the change in their warranty policy but rather your company selling a defective product, specifically, the circulation pump in my unit. It seems this is a bit too common issue based on my readings online and according to your Viking authorized repair technician statements. In fact it is so common, that the technician always carries around a couple of circulation pumps in the van when he goes out for service as more than likely, this model dishwashers stop working because of the circulation pump. In any instance, this is not a monetary issue for me, but rather a principle one. Also I dont appreciate the corporate response I received from you since as a customer, I think I deserve more. Thank you.As of yet, it has been more than one month and no response. Anyone considering purchasing Viking Appliances better think twice. This company, through its retailers, promise you the world but when you have any issues, they are nowhere to support or address your concerns. I am going to make sure that all my friends, family, co-workers, etc. know about their dirty tactics.

Since Vikings range was excellent and I already had a Sub-Zero before, I tried out Viking and its better than Sub-Zero. I love the lighting and its a beautiful refrigerator. It has superior quality. Also, we’re vegetarians so I’ve got a lot of vegetable in there and it seems to keep my vegetables fresher longer which is better than my last refrigerator. Overall, it’s an excellent refrigerator. My choices are limited when I go to 36-inches as far as the manufacturers. Viking was one of them. And at the time, they gave an incentive. When I bought the range, I got a free Viking dishwasher. The quality is good. When the range was delivered, there were some scratches on it. The store that I purchased it from had somebody come out and take care of it. I used the broiler six months after I bought the range and it didnt work. So, the appliance store sent out whoever they use for repairs and service and they were able to fix the problem. The one question I have is why when you go to a 36-inch range, Viking doesnt offer a self-cleaning oven. Also, the 36-inch range is more of a commercial range. Because we pay a good amount for these ranges, Viking should give a tutorial after they install it. How to use it, what to look for, how to clean it. That would be helpful.

Im very dissatisfied with my Viking Refrigerator. I find the design of the refrigerator really crazy. You have to open the refrigerator doors to get water out of a spigot inside the door, which when youre filling drips onto the bottom of the refrigerator. And we have been having horrendous problems with the door sticking at the bottom. Weve had the freezer door fixed four times that it gets to the point where you just cant open it. The service company has been in four times and they pull it all out. They clean out all the ice and do everything they need to do and they put it back. It works better because when they arrived you couldnt open it at all. But once they leave it is still not working properly. I dont know what the solution is because A-1 Appliance solved it for maybe two days, three days, four days and then it just sticks again.

I bought a $12,000 built-in Viking fridge from an online store (AJ Madison). It was discounted. It was supposed to have a scratch on the side, but it had a dent in the front. I bought an extended warranty. I bought it for a home in Florida that I rent out weekly. I vacation down there a few times a year. The first time I went down there, I noticed that the fridge temperature would spike up to 61 degrees. This was May of 2021. I called Viking and they sent a repairman out (Mr. Appliance). He said it was working perfectly. Then the renters started demanding money back for food that spoiled. Mr. Appliance came out again and said it was working perfectly. I went down there again, and the temperature would go up to 61 degrees and the food would spoil. At this point Viking told me they had to send a repairman out 3 times to deem it unrepairable. Mr. Appliance came out a third time and again said it was working perfectly. Now Viking said they would not take care of it, because I “accepted a broken refrigerator.“ Mr. Appliance came out again, put in a probe that showed that the temp went up to 61 degrees for 4 hours. He actually interpreted this as working perfectly. Viking got the temperature graph showing sustained temperatures at 61 degrees for 4 hours and claimed it was working fine. Viking refused to deem the refrigerator unrepairable. I got nowhere with Mr. Appliance, Viking or with the extended warranty people (New Leaf). Nine months later, I finally bought a working refrigerator from Home Depot. Nine months later, AJ Madison says they will give me a refund if Viking deems it unrepairable, which they will not. I am negotiating for a partial refund with AJ Madison now with new difficulties.

I liked Vikings name and reputation. The quality of the range that I got is excellent. I really like the six burners on the top and the control that I have when Im cooking. However, cleaning the range is like an event. I dont like doing it very often because its so much work. I have to take all the six burners off individually and have to clean them. Then, I have to take those little things underneath the burners that catch everything. You have to take all six of those off and clean them, then dry them after which you wipe down the stove. You then take everything out from the crumb catcher underneath.Ive had other ranges where the grates are one piece, you pick them, lean it up against your backsplash, wipe it down, put it down, and youre done. With this range, my husband and I always yell about whos gonna clean it. So, consequently, we just let it go. We would clean it maybe once a week cause I cant do that every single time I cook. I just wipe it down and wait until Sunday to clean it.

Our builder sent us to his appliance vendor to select kitchen appliances, whereupon a salesman convinced us to upgrade to Viking--there was some kind of package deal on at the time. The first 2 years were marked by constant frustration. The fridge had no shortage of problems (our version had a fridge above and freezer below). The hinges were replaced by a factory-authorized repairman twice (the first time, he forgot to lubricate them, and we ended up with a small pile of metal dust from the grinding metal parts). It took several attempts to get the door to stop swinging 180 degrees. The metal freezer rack started rusting (the factory sent the wrong part for the first attempted repair). Later, the thermostat failed and had to be replaced (it was actually my co-worker who diagnosed the problem--meanwhile, the distributor denied that could be the issue). At some point, I noticed the plastic door gasket was tearing, but I let that one go. These days, every time I look at the fridge, I cant help but notice that it isnt aligned properly. And of course, we never even thought to look at the Energy Guide sticker, where I was surprised to find its rated one of the least efficient refrigerators in its class. The oven arrived with a faulty door. A new one arrived, but the repairman sent it back because it had been damaged in shipping. The second warranty repair seemed OK, but my wife was always unhappy at how long it took for the oven to warm up. The microwaves magnetron failed under warranty and was replaced. But this morning, the microwave started arcing, smoking, and making spectacular sparks from behind the back panel. Its now 6 years old, and I think its life has ended.Im pleased to say that we did not roll over and play dead, and successfully argued our case to get Viking to cover all of our problems under warranty (except todays event). But my wife and I lead busy lives, and its been very draining to be constantly booking appointments, waiting around for repair people to show, and badgering the company. When we first bought Viking, I read all about how they studied and learned from Toyotas quality control systems. All I can say is, they couldnt have been paying much attention on those trips to Japan.

I purchased this Viking Electric Range 30 with Induction Cooktop in August
I purchased this Viking Electric Range 30 with Induction Cooktop in August 2014 as display model. I was told by the salesman that it had a full warranty. We also discussed with a Viking rep who was there setting up other models and he indicated the benefits of the range. In January the left burners quit working and there was a flash code for the burners. I called Viking to inquire about the warranty and found the unit was registered to another person who bought it 1 year earlier. I did not know it was pre-owned and would not have purchased it if it was. From the Viking customer service rep I learned it had a history of two repair calls including a replaced control board ($800.00 part cost). The code on the induction top indicated that it may be a generator board (there is one for each side) with a part cost of about $1200.00. They also indicated it was out of warranty. I have talked to the store, Viking techs, independent service tech and there has been no resolution to my issue. The code has changed since the initial event. Since there seems to be a need for a second module, is this a problem with this model or is this one a lemon. Viking did have a 5 year limited warranty on the induction top and modules in the past this but no longer true. I would like a resolution to this issue.

My husband loves cooking on our Viking range. He likes its flexibility with the burners. Its quality is good and we’re happy with it thus far, but there are a few things about it that we’re struggling with. One is that the large oven keeps having a huge popping noise when it heats up and it scares the daylight out of me every time. I bought a new home and Viking came with it. I like that the appliance cooks well. To be honest though, I haven’t had the best experiences. We’ve had to have some repairs for every appliance since I’ve lived here in one year of owning brand-new products. So I’m not exceptionally thrilled. I have a fridge, a stovetop and a microwave. There was some build-up of ice in the freezer. The most aggravating part is that I sit and wait for installers all day long. Then, they do it over and over and over, so it doesn’t sit very well. I had three times they had to come out for the freezer and the stovetop. Twice they had to come out for the microwave. But at this moment, everything is working fine.

I heard about Viking over the years being quality, so I was excited when I could finally get my own. I got my stove in November and we would hear this loud noise as we were heating up the oven and I didnt worry about it. It sounded like metal bending and I said, Oh, its just new. It just needs some time to loosen up, warm up, get used to -- just to be operated. But it kept happening. My daughters like, Mommy, I dont know. This doesnt sound right. It keeps doing this. We finally decided to call. First, I called the place that I made the purchase from and he didnt return my call. So, I decided to call Viking directly and they were very helpful, told me there was a recall on the part of that particular series, and then the ball started moving. They took care of it, told me what was going to happen and what we needed to do. Right now, Im waiting for parts to be delivered to me. I already have a contact person that they gave me that will do the installation of those parts. They recommended me not to use the oven. I can use the stovetop, but not the oven. Im 59 years old and have been cooking forever and I always prefer a gas range. Part of the reason I chose a Viking was its design. We had a GE before that had some problems with its electronic components, and I was sick of replacing that card. And it happened two times and so I wanted something a little bit more simple. Im very satisfied with my Viking range. Its convection works great and it did everything it was supposed to do. I also liked the design of the inside oven of the Viking range and how easily the wire shelves slid out. It felt very stable and nice. Then theres the simmer feature where I can really bring the temp down low. It is awesome because not all ranges go quite low enough. I like the control that I have on that. I also like its sleekness. It doesnt have a whole bunch of electronic stuff because I dont need all that stuff on my range. I just want to cook with it.However, when it was delivered, there was damage done to that bottom kickplate. Everybody tried hard to order it from Viking and get it here. Finally, the salesman where we had bought it out said, You know what? Ive got a range here. Weve got it on order. How about if I bring this down to you or send this down to you. You guys put it on. And when you get the replacement thing, you guys bring it up to us? So thats what we did. It was not the perfect fix but I appreciated the salesman going bazillion miles over. It was just such a conundrum for anybody to figure out how to do it. It wasnt the delivery people that caused the problem. It was done in packaging from Viking and that was aggravating.

We learned about Viking from a friend and she told us that there was this Viking refrigerator on sale, so we went and purchased it. We were in the middle of building a house and decided to go with the range and the dishwasher after that. We had to get a contractor to put in the dishwasher and after he put it in, the seal that sealed the door of the dishwasher when you run it had been flipped over or creased, but he was able to unfold it and he tried to work it back. Then, the icemaker on the refrigerator never worked, and we’ve got water lines coming to it. The guy seemed to think the whole icemaker was bad or there’s a solenoid or a switch that could be out.We also have two eyes on the range that havent worked. One wouldn’t ignite at all, while the other ignited 20% of the time. When the appliance people came out to look at them, they had to order the parts and I needed to call Viking in order to see if I can get that under warranty. It was brand new when we got it. At that price range and for the quality, we were expecting a bit more attention to detail and less issues, especially not have something wrong with all three of them. Still, we like them. We purchased a Viking Gas Range this summer for our kitchen renovation. We were excited about our purchase as we had saved up for this particular gas range. We expected higher quality when we made this purchase. Ive tried calling customer service and entering a claim on the website (which seems to be permanently down and unable to accept claims online). I want to be in love with this purchase, but Im not. In fact, I feel a little uneasy using the gas oven due to the experience Ive had so far.

We bought Viking Professional which we thought would have been their best of the best and we’ve not been happy with it. I was really excited about the purchase and it’s been a disappointment. With the first fridge we had, water was pooling. We had three different service guys out, the last one being a Viking service person who couldn’t figure it out. They ended up replacing it, and with the fridge that they replaced it with, the door is not aligned correctly. We’ve had two people out to try to fix that and that has been unsuccessful. After three service calls, a fridge replacement and two additional service calls, six different times I’ve spent the day in the house waiting, we’re done. I would tell anybody else not to purchase it because it’s a lot of money and we’re settling because I’m truthfully just tired of it. I wouldn’t purchase another one.

My friend had a Viking range and recommended it to us. We didn’t have a place for a double oven in the wall, so I wanted a large range and the Viking range happened to be available. We were looking at Wolf initially but the Viking range that we found and purchased was with the dual fuel and it was also the floor model. So it was over the top, but our kitchen is over the top as well, so it went with our kitchen. Also, the quality of the range is wonderful. I like the convection oven that Ive never had before and I use it all the time. It definitely works a lot faster than other ovens. We received a lot of appliances with different brands from the Viking dealer and the reps there were good. When we first had the Viking range installed, the convection fan was really loud and would rattle the floor when we put the convection oven on. They had somebody come out and replace the fan. It still gets a little loud, but it doesn’t do anymore what it did before, and we hope that we don’t have to ever deal with that situation again. They definitely rectified the situation promptly and that was really good. I will go back to Viking Ranges.

We had a Viking refrigerator for 15 years and it was built-in. It was good until it conked out. We had to go with the same refrigerator because we happen to have certain size constrictions. I called Viking because we needed a specific size and I was checking on all the measurements on the 48-inch. The gal told me that it should all work out as far as the fit because we didnt want it to get here and not have it fit in its space. I also asked about the pricing so that I knew I wasnt going to be ripped off. The new refrigerator is updated and it seems to have a better seal. Theres also supposed to be a thing inside where we never have to clean it. Id like my refrigerator to last longer than 15 years because its expensive. Thats like 1,000 a year when you add it up and I dont wanna have to pay that for a refrigerator. They said that the new one supposedly is gonna be lasting longer. Im hoping thats true and so far, it seems to be fine.

I am only writing this review here because I see that Viking actually monitors this and sometimes responds. The salesman at Pacific Sales was pushing this brand over others and especially over Sub Zero, stating that they are owned by a new company and the customer service has become much better. I have written to Viking three times, 11/15, 11/22, and again around 11/30 to tell them to pound sand. Since it had been 15 days with zero response to my requests from them, they clearly arent interested in my business. The saddest part is that my second response was to have a representative look at my existing appliance, and that I may choose to just replace it, depending on the quote they offered. Nothing from them. I refuse to consider spending $10k on a refrigerator with a company who cant answer two different requests after 15 days. I guess they dont need my money, so Ill spend more at SZ when this one finally dies.UPDATED ON 03/25/2018: The Viking refrigerator that I had broke down and I replaced it with the same one. I did not want to spend over $10,000 on a refrigerator except that the hole in my house fits that one and it was more affordable than the Sub-Zero. I really wanted the Sub-Zero, but I didn’t want to spend an extra $6,000. Vikings website is terrible. If you put in a request for information on their website and submit the button, you do not get a response. I was looking for somebody to service the broken refrigerator and to check it out because maybe I didnt need to replace it. But they did not respond and I had to go to the website to complain about them. They reached out to me through the website and told me that they dont have access to the the account that those emails go to since the new company bought them a few years ago. I told them that they need to update their website so they could have access. They apologized but they never pointed me to any person who could come and check my refrigerator. Their customer service is nonexistent and I’m banking on the warranty that I have with the store that I purchased the refrigerator from and the reps that they have there.

I did a lot of research on the internet on various high-end stoves and I looked to see about the problems with repairs. I knew that Viking was having a lot of issues before it was bought out a few years ago, but I saw that they had redone a lot of the parts and re-designed them. Their newer reviews were fine, too. They were pretty similar to the other high-end stoves. So, my wife decided Viking was the one she liked the most based on the way it looked. However, there was a scratch which was fairly deep on the stove door. It was installed about a month ago and I didn’t notice until right after the installers left. I was looking at the back of the stove when they took it off the truck. So I called up the store and sent them a picture right away. They acknowledged that it was obviously a problem because its not caused by me. I suggested they just send me a door and I would replace it myself as it is easy to install. I would just send them the old one if they wanted to. But Viking wouldn’t do that for some reason. They sent me a whole new stove. We also got side trim because we have a stone countertop that didn’t have a perfectly straight edge. The side trim makes the stove look like a slide-in type range. We couldn’t use the screws to install the side trim because they stick out and we can’t fit in a normal countertop within a 30-inch distance. It was kind of odd, but it’s no big deal. We just used the side trim and laid it in there, and it worked fine. Other than those, everythings fine. My wife is happy with the Viking stove. She loves it. We like the top of the stove the most. Also, when I had a question about how to remove the lower grate, the Viking rep answered the question right away.

When I went to a store in Chicago, the place had all different brands and competitors of Viking, but I was sold on Vikings reputation. The salesman was very helpful and knowledgeable of the Viking product and that made the experience very easy for me. Plus I had a deal going on at the time where I could buy a type of package that fit well because we were remodeling our kitchen. Theres been a couple of little issues, but when we have had them, theyre on top of it right away. The first issue was when the icemaker went out and the second one is that the door on the range is screwy. I have a guy coming out today to service my range so the service has been great. Hopefully its not a big deal and its under warranty and everything is fixed and again, well be very happy with our purchase.

Ive had a Viking stove for the past 10 years and I was pretty pleased with the product. And I bought a Viking dishwasher because my old dishwasher, that was approximately over 20 years old, went. So, when my built-in refrigerator went as well, I got a Viking refrigerator because I said, Im just gonna get a Viking. Everything else is Viking. I got my Viking refrigerator through P. C. Richard. In fact, I bought pretty much all my appliances through them and theyve been pretty good.I love my Viking refrigerator. Its roomy and holds a lot. So far, its a great product, so Im happy. I like the fact that the lighting is wonderful. You can see everything thats in it. In addition, I like the way that they have the drawers stacked. I have extra room to put other things in that I couldnt do with my other refrigerator because I had a side-by-side refrigerator then. So, if I had a wide tray, I could never fit it in that other refrigerator. But this one holds everything beautifully. The freezer is a little small, though. It holds a little less than my other refrigerator did but thats okay.

We bought a Viking stove, hood/microwave, and dishwasher when we remodeled
We bought a Viking stove, hood/microwave, and dishwasher when we remodeled for our dream kitchen. Each appliance has had problems. First the bottom of the utensil basket disintegrated. It was flimsy and brittle after a few months of use. Brand specific replacement, $70 from our local appliance store. Fewer than 20 months later the control panel on top acted up. The appliance repair person said it would be at least 6 weeks to get a replacement part, if it was even available. It would cost, with installation, over $300. The stove has had several problems, the microwave/hood has problems. None of this was covered under any warranty. For a low end product the performance would be poor. Because its expensive, wed say it was abysmal.

I have had a Viking gas oven that has had the same recurring issue since it was brand new, 3 1/2 years ago. The oven heats up but then fails to reignite, causing the oven to lose temperature. Viking service providers have put band-aids on this issue 3 times, the latest 4 months ago. These have helped for a short period of time, but eventually have all failed. When I called Viking today to let them know that the issue is happening again, neither Viking (nor the service provider) would stand behind the product or the work that was done to fix it. The customer care department told me that I would need to pay for the service, and then Viking would decide whether or not it was a quality issue. They would not escalate the issue to a supervisor, claiming that there was no such person. I am writing the review here in the effort to get some resolution.

When we were trying to buy our house, we saw it came together with Viking products. A lot of people will buy it, so they installed the Viking products for us and they have high quality, but theyre not as good as we thought. The inside space of the refrigerator is okay. It has a special space for the drinks and that’s a good thing, but the refrigerator started having problems after half a year the house was built. The part started peeling off and we havent touched it a lot. After the person came here to fix the upper door and replace it for me, the lower door also had the same problems. I called them to two months ago and they havent sent anyone to fix it. The salesperson is the contact person if I need to contact another department to have the appointment with me to fix the refrigerator and do the next step, but the department never contacted me again and I can’t contact them directly to let them do it quickly. Also, I need to call them several times if I have problems with a Viking product.

When we first got the refrigerator, the bottom of the freezer started filling up with ice. The technician came out. Somehow, in the construction of the refrigerator, all this insulation had been sprayed down the tubes and supposed to drain that stuff out. They replaced the whole refrigerator. But then the bottom of each of the doors of the new refrigerator were all clogged up with the same sort of spray foam insulation. The technician came out again said that the doors needed to be replaced. NOW, Im going on five months waiting for that. Viking is just waiting for the new doors to be manufactured. The refrigerator works, but its not right yet, and I took a five-year extended warranty on it. With this defect, Im wondering if that five-year extended warranty is going to be extended when I finally get a refrigerator that works properly. I wish it was something that could be resolved in a timely manner. I understand people gotta wait for parts, but I bought the refrigerator at the end of December, and Im still waiting for it to be fixed.

My mom had a Viking range. I liked that it had the dual fuel and self-cleaning oven, so we got one too and we really like it. It is sturdy and seems very well-made, unlike some of those cheap or lower-end brands. I like all of its features. I like that the burner grates are individual, so they’re not so heavy to lift up. I saw that some other brands had only three burner grates or these were doubles, and I did not like having to pick up that heavy stuff. We went through Ferguson to buy our Viking range and they were great. We spent a lot of time looking into the range that we would buy because we just remodeled our whole kitchen and I’m hoping that our range will last for a very long time like my mom’s. I would recommend Viking.

I like the size of it, the way its a side-by-side opening door and its a refrigerator on top and the freezer at the bottom. I also like the dependability and it’s quite easy to operate. When the power goes out, its so easy to reset it.My experience with Ferguson which sold me the refrigerator was not great, though. I told the guy who delivered it, “The light in the freezer doesnt work. You shouldnt leave unless you can make it work.” He told me, Youre gonna have to call service for that.” I was not happy with that service but the service guy who came out was great. Weve had several visits already for the fridge that we bought from Viking even though its still under warranty. Right after it was installed, the ice and water features were not working. They came out a couple of times for that and eventually they figured it out and fixed it. Then more recently, the unit completely died and it turned out to be the board for the inverter was bad. But the thing thats maddening is how long it took for them to come and fix it. The parts were in stock but it took three days to have the order put in and then these cant be shipped fast. We were without a fridge for two weeks. That to me is a poor customer service. Luckily we had a spare fridge in the garage that we kind of lived out of for two weeks. If somebodys fridge breaks, they should ship that thing via FedEx. They should come, fix it and not screw around. Then just this week, the ice thing was not working. I figured it out when somebody in the house that looks at appliances noticed that where the water is coming out to make the ice is completely frozen. I would think twice buying another Viking.

In the kitchen, we have very high-end fixtures so we wanted something that was comparable to the other pieces that we had chosen. Viking has a really good reputation for being high quality and the pieces are pleasing to look at. Weve been using it for a month and everything has been great. The stove works well. The only issue that we had that was disappointing was that the color is different because the dishwasher and the range are placed next to each other. Its very drastic, the difference in color. When I called to let them know about the color difference, the people that I spoke to were very kind. They sent someone out and that rep was very nice. He took pictures. It was a really nice experience. We, very quickly, got a phone call saying they were going to change it, which was a relief. My oven worked beautifully until I decided to use the clean cycle. Afterwards, I lost the alarm on the timer. I also noticed that it was not keeping accurate temperature. Called repairman who came out and checked the control board and said it needed replacing. Replaced it today and, after repairman left, I tried to bake. The oven reaches the set temperature but then begins to cool down and never clicks back on to warm back up. I am so frustrated. Just to have a repairman step foot in my house is $95! Any suggestions would be appreciated.Updated on 03/07/2017: After replacing control board and thermostat, my oven still does not hold temperature. It will reach temperature setting initially but will decrease and never reach original set temp. After authorized Viking repairman replaced thermostat, he called Viking Help Line. They were not able to offer any help. We are now replacing internal temperature probe to see if that makes any difference at all. After we replace this part, there is nothing else to replace (other than the oven). I am so disappointed as I purchased this oven because it was made in the USA and was supposed to be top of the line. We have now invested way more money than we should have! Im very happy with Viking products. I consider them very good and very well-built. Its very reliable. I had the previous Viking range for eight years and there were no problems at all. Its a very good brand thats why I wanted to have it. However, the process of this particular case of me getting this range on a deal (I found a great deal of a new unpacked range for almost half the price) and the things that followed werent great. I got the range, brought it home, installed it then there were some problems which I reported in my communication with the company. It was quite lengthy to get the proper technician to come and look at it. Theres a whole process that I experienced talking to the company and the company has another company hired for public relations. I got an email from that second company that the issues were being looked at. Then the same second company recommended the local tech but I wasnt happy with the tech that worked initially. The local company that was hired to look at the things that are not functioning reported something that wasnt complete. So, I had to recall the technician and another technician came. They ordered the parts that were malfunctioning and they installed it. The second tech finally solved it but it was about two months of smelling gas and its been quite stressful. The process could be something more straightforward like you talk to the company and get a response from the company. There are no middlemen and no broken chain of relaying the problems that are reported.

We had a Sub-Zero and then we decided to try a Viking. We wanted a freezer on the bottom rather than the side to side, and it’s stainless steel. However, we’ve had some problems with the freezer as it stopped working. Somebody came in and defrosted the drain line or whatever that gets clogged up with a hair dryer. We had to spend about $400 to $500 to get that fixed as it was out of the warranty. Also, Im not all that impressed with the set up for the authorized repair. We called customer service, and the repair people are coming again tomorrow. But it’s like I’m talking to somebody where I got a phone bank somewhere, and it’s not a local business. For one thing, we can’t find the stupid model number or the serial number. They’re underneath somewhere strange in the back of the freezer, and one can’t get down there to see it. Also, the other day, one of those bookcases with the sliding shelves on the door broke apart for no reason. I had to order from Viking a new one for a couple hundred dollars for half of one of those bookcase sliding units. It’s so stupid that I’m trying to get that plastic. This unit just broke apart for no reason, and then I’m trying to go find the model number and the serial number so that I could talk intelligently with Viking support, and I can’t get it. The only way I found it was to go back to the original invoice from ABW who were the people who get all the appliance for us when we were renovating the kitchen. Other than having these incidents, Viking is a good refrigerator and we like it.

I have owned the Viking Professional gas range for about 16 years. When it was first delivered the oven door was adjusted wrong, the glass had slid leaving an 1/8 opening and closed improperly. Viking factory representative told me that the door adjustment wasnt covered under warranty. After paying $5,000 and no warranty for shoddy work. I called Viking representatives in almost every state. Finally found a dealer that gave me information how to correct the problem myself. I had a local serviceman out several times that charged for service and said, Dont expect warranty service. That is exactly why he stopped carrying Viking gas ranges. 10 years ago we bought a 42 inch side by side frig. Service and repair began regular visits from day three and it has been a terrible experience. There are too many issues to list here, but if any one cared I would be glad to share the rap sheet. The original dealer was Sewell Appliance in Sandy Springs, GA and the service company was Hadco. One of the frustrating issues was that many of the diagnosis discussions did not make sense. Cause and effect, symptoms and solutions, etc. are not always rocket science. Many ill-fated service calls have been endured. Once again, details available upon request. We have lost contents several times and constantly put up with. High temps, iced up element, overflowing drain pan, on and on - we now have a small back up fridge plus TWO $160 freezers to rely on. I have no confidence in the Viking fridge. Im surprised they are still made. I curse the day we saved $700 by not buying a Subzero. What do I want? I would like to have a qualified Viking rep look at my service records and admit that this is not normal. In the meantime, I would never have a Viking product and am seeking ways to publicize my opinion until Viking would step in for some sort of acknowledgement.

Our Viking refrigerator was purchased in 2002. The side-by-side style and drawer system looked great when purchased. In the first year under warranty, the bottom slide-out drawers and hinges snapped off and broke several times. The tracking was replaced as well as the entire drawer system. The motor broke, drawers cracked, compressor broke and the sealer to the door replaced. I think everything was replaced in the first year. Now that its 2013, every side holder on the door side are held together with duck tape. The ice maker stopped working a long time ago. Drawers lost their handles - all broken off. Compressor is out and the bottom drawer a joke. Doors dont stay closed. The alarm goes off randomly when it wants to have to get out of bed to press the alarm off button several times a day. We still have the recall replacement hinges for the doors uninstalled as of yet. Apparently, the doors can fall off randomly and hurt people. Viking offered a discount for a new refrigerator if we decide not to get the hinges replaced. However, I am not sure that will solve any future problems. We should have purchased the competitors brand, which was slightly higher in price. Tried to see if they would offer anything more than the 1 year warranty. Nothing offered except a discount on a new one.

We bought a new house and Viking appliances came with it. One of those appliances was a refrigerator and Ive found that the layout and functioning bit of it has been fine. Its of good quality and it has nice hardy doors. However, I have two issues with the freezer that will make me not wanna buy that product again. First, when I open up the door at the bottom where the ice maker slides out, the whole drawer comes out with it because of the magnets at the front. If the icebox is full, the little metal arm thing that comes down knocks all the ice off. Ice goes all over the floor and the back of the freezer and thats a major pain. We have hardwood floors and so when the ice falls on it, we cant feel like we can just leave it. Another issue I have is that when the pump turns on to pump water into the ice machine. It’s super loud, like really loud. You can hear it across the whole house. While we can tell it’s filling, all the other pumps weve ever had for other houses that weve owned have been super quiet. We couldnt even hear the water running. I will not buy that particular model again because of these two issues. Nevertheless, the freezer keeps things cold and it works really well. I think it’s a good quality product but the ice maker and water pump are poorly designed.

Our kitchen looked beautiful. Viking appliances look great but dont last. Bought a wall oven in 2006 and had it fixed twice and then had to replace it with a Maytag in 2012 because the self-cleaning option burned up so much of the electronics that it was cheaper to buy a new oven. Our microwave, also bought in 2006, has been repaired twice and now we are going to replace it because it needs to be repaired again. Our beverage refrigerator either freezes anything close to the sides or can only keep things above 40 degrees, nothing in between. The thermostat was replaced but it made no difference. We are now using it as a cabinet for extra housewares. Our dishwasher works GREAT since we only use it about five times/year. The oven door on our large 6 burner stove has never been level but it works well enough for my use. My calls to Viking have produced nothing but oh sorry, you are just out of warranty but here is your closest authorized repair shop. I will NEVER buy another Viking product and will not recommend them to anyone.

We bought our Viking oven 4 1/2 years ago because I like to cook and wanted an oven that could stand up to that. Sadly, I have been very disappointed with the oven. From the beginning I noticed that the knobs on the front of the oven would get almost too hot to touch whenever I had the oven on over 400 degrees for a length of time. Two weeks ago the oven broke. We had to replace the DSI control panel at a cost of almost $700. The oven worked for one day and then broke again. Im now told I will have to wait 2 months for another DSI control panel to become available and I cant be certain that is even going to fix the problem. When I told the repairman I would never again buy a Viking, he said I should have bought a Wolf because he repairs about 10x as many Vikings as he does Wolf ovens. Wish I had known...

Got on this website to see if others have had issues with Viking Refrigerators. Our house came with a Viking Pro, but it had so many problems. Viking sold us a newer one at a discount. Now, the replacement is doing the same things - erratic temperatures, spoiling food, alarm goes off, constant calls for repairs (and expense) - such that we have not been able to use it for months. Thank God for an over 25 year old Hotpoint fridge that we have had in our garages in several homes across the country but has never has had a problem. I can see that others have had issues and while I am glad to learn that, I am at a loss as to why a company that once had, I thought, a good reputation, is not seriously concerned and doing something about it. Is the company going under?

The refrigerator I bought is very good but the drawers are kind of flimsy. You push it to a certain point and then they self-close. If those drawers were on ball bearing or a little bit different, itd be really top-notch then. My favorite features of the Viking are the door itself, the styling and the lights.

People say that Viking Ranges have good stoves and cooktops. Id say its high quality and Im happy so far. The simmer feature is nice, it heats up very quickly. One thing that Im not satisfied about is that I dont have that option of a griller anymore. Now its just a griddle, and I dont like it. But, beyond that, performance and everything else, Im very happy.

I bought a house and it had an older Viking range and a Bosch dishwasher. I needed to replace my refrigerator so I wanted it to be Viking. I chose Viking because I wanted it to match the stove. Besides, Bosch did not have as good reviews as Viking. And I was a bit limited as I live in a very old house and it’s a standalone refrigerator. It’s not a built-in and there aren’t a lot of those high-end available and Viking had a nice one. So I purchased the refrigerator through Best Buy and they were very nice. They didnt have the refrigerator on the showroom floor and this guy named Ryan found it for me when I told him exactly what I needed. When I bought the French Door refrigerator, it was fine. I like the way it looks, as well as its lighting. But then it began making high-pitch tinging noise that was driving me crazy. I had an appliance guy come in to check it and I pointed it out and he took a video and told me that its no good. It was not the fan which a lot of people thought. The fan makes a fine sound. Almost a comforting sound. But this was a metal on metal and it was the condenser. They put me in touch with Viking and they sent out a technician and he put some sound deadening material on the condenser which has solved the problem. Thing is, it should be designed that way in the first place. Its silly. And also right there in the back of the fridge is a crazy piece of cardboard which doesn’t make any sense. It should be a metal panel. But overall, its a very nice fridge with a very good price. I would recommend Viking.
