I wanted a Viking range and we purchased one from P.C. Richards. The guy we worked with was a very helpful, nice man. We started the renovation in July and since weâre doing everything ourselves, it took a lot of work to get everything ready and the people from the dealership were very patient with us. When we were ready, they brought the different things that we needed when we needed them as opposed to everything at once. It worked out very nicely. So far, I havenât had much time to do a whole lot of stuff with our Viking. Iâm still getting used to it. I look at it and Iâm thrilled. I like to bake and cook and Iâm just waiting to get the time to try out different things with it. I like that the shelves are easy to move around. It helps out a lot. Also, they gave a lot of instructions on how to set things up inside the oven to make sure I can cook more than one thing at a time.
We wanted the kitchen to be more of a showplace than just an average functional kitchen. We ordered all of the appliances at the same time in January 2021, but they werent delivered until end of May. So, there was a long delay in the arrival of the appliances. We had them all there at the same time before they would start the remodel of the kitchen. Everything was on backorder at that time. There was a lack of inventory everywhere. We knew that going in, and most every appliance brand we looked at had some sort of delay on it. And we wanted all the appliances to match so we ordered accordingly and waited, which put us farther down the list on the contractors list, which was a long delay. The range works great. My wife loves it. The only real incident we had that we didnt know we would have was when we got everything installed, the icemaker didnt work. And that didnt get fixed until January of 2022. Once we got it in, we had to go through the customer service thing because it wasnt making ice. Viking sent somebody out. He checked it out and had to order a new icemaker. When it came in, they installed it and everything worked fine.
We wanted a commercial stove for our upscale dream home. So we settled on a VIKING 6 burner/griddle stove with a double oven. The quality of the oven is poor at best. The doors dont line up and close properly and the oven has had to have all the igniters replaced within the first couple of years. The small oven makes a god awful noise when it ignites. Now the igniter module on the stove seems to have gone. Itâs nearly impossible to use the simmer on all the stove top burners as they just dont stay lit. Dont waste your hard earned money on Viking!!!
When I shut the freezer door of the Viking refrigerator, it hangs up about a half an inch on one side and then I gotta slam it in. Its also overheating. Then every time I open the freezer drawer, the ice bin flips out on the floor, it goes backward. The machine rubs on the top of the ice because the ice bin is full and so the ice flips out. Now Ive got to open the door very carefully so I dont get ice on the floor because my floor is not in yet. But if I normally pull the door, it would do that. Viking could have designed this a little bit better.I called the retailer, Freds Appliance, immediately for repair and they said theyd get somebody out. A week passed and nobody called so I called again. The guy asked if somebody called me and I said no. He said that hed get right on it. Then another few days passed and we finally got a call. The people are not coming out till the 28th so Im dealing with the door being crappy. Im not happy that I paid a lot of money -- cause I bought the fridge, the oven, the dishwasher, the microwave, the icemaker, the range from Viking and then I gotta deal with this. Its not fair because Ive just had it for two weeks.
I had a frustrating and disappointing experience with Viking Ranges. I chose it because of the style and cost but the range I received was horrible. The first time I used it, I turned on the burners and then I turned on the oven. Underneath the burner, it exploded into a flame so I got a fire extinguisher and put it out. I called Viking and they sent out a repairman. He looked at it and he said that the range was a total loss so they arranged to have it replaced. When they came out to replace it, they arranged the time with me.The night before the agreed time, they called me on a robocall and told me a different time. So I called them back and I said, Ive already arranged to meet at the time we agreed. They called back and said, No, we cant do that. They said that the only way I can arrange the time is to wait til 24 hours before theyll tell me when the time would be. Thats hard to do if youre working so that was a hassle. So I said, I dont know what to do because I cant meet that time you want cause Ive already arranged with my work to be the other time, which we already agreed to, well, I already made the appointment. That was a week earlier and they said at that time it was fine to have the time that we arranged. So I did, then they said they didnt have another day when they could tell me when they could come back. They called me an hour later and said, Okay, we can meet your original time. They came and replaced my range.Vikingâs customer service reps were fine but their service people were a hassle because of the scheduling. The actual service man who came out was fine. What happened was very dangerous. The repairman even said that if I turned on the oven first, let it go for a long time and then turn the burner on, there could have been an explosion. But I had the burner on first and then I turned the oven on so all it did was catch fire underneath the burner. My Viking Range works fine now. Its just that I got a really bad Viking Range in the beginning.
I purchased a Viking range a few years ago. Two of the stove top burners have stopped working. The replacement boards to fix problem are $1200.00 just for the parts, and Viking cannot guarantee they will work, AND they will not let us return parts if they dont work. I would NOT buy these overpriced, underperforming units again.
The logistics company delivered my Viking refrigerator to my house and dropped it off in my living room. They pushed it into the wall because its one of those built-in wall units. They didnt connect it or they connected it but it wasnt right. There was this bottom metal piece that was supposed to be installed. I asked the guys if they were supposed to do that. They said they were not allowed to install those for liability purposes. I would have to get somebody to do it. It cost me almost $500 to have a Viking specialist come out and install it.When the specialists came out, they said, âYour refrigeratorâs not even drilled to the wall. Because if its not, what can happen is if you open the door, the whole thing could tip over and could crush you.â The guy said they were gonna secure it, which they did. That was a pain, to begin with. The refrigerator side works fine. But we noticed that the icemaker was really slow from day one. We went back and forth with the Viking warranty people and Build.com where I purchased the refrigerator from. They sent somebody out to fix it four times. After the last time, it still wasnt working right. It never would produce over 20 ice cubes. Every time they would come out, they would tell me to give it 24 to 48 hours and I would have a big bin full of ice cubes. That never happened. We had family over and birthday parties. I had to go to 7-Eleven and grab a bag of ice and stick it in my freezer. After paying $15,000, that doesnt make me happy.Build.com replaced the ice maker and its still not working right. They apologized and they went ahead and ordered me a new refrigerator. But that refrigerator is not going to arrive until April 2022 so Im stuck with this thing. Itâs beautiful but it doesnât make ice and the motor is really loud. I could have bought a car for that price I paid for the refrigerator so I want it to work 100%. Viking has been around for many years and they have beautiful products. After I placed the order with them versus Wolf, I happened to go online and I did some research and there are actually lots of really bad reviews. Viking is the least recommended. I have many regrets. I hate my refrigerator. We had issues with our other Viking products too like our stove and dishwasher.
Its a nice refrigerator. The only thing I didnât like was we had a repair guy here twice already for two fans and then the ice wasnt working either. The technicians were very knowledgeable and courteous. They had to order a couple of parts. The first time we had a fan that went out, it took about two months to get. But the tech rigged it up some kind of way and it was not losing any kind of coolness to it, so it stays running. Itâs just made it louder. Then we just got that other fan replaced last week. The tech came out and fixed that for us. It took us about three weeks before he got that part in to get it fixed for us. So quality-wise, its not worth the price.
We built our house two years ago and put in over $60,000 in Viking appliances double over, two dishwashers, stove top, microwave, outdoor grill, fridge, and under counter fridge. I have problems with my dishwashers since day one. They have been serviced 5 times in 2 years. Last week when my one year old daughter opened the door of my under counter fridge, the whole door fell off and landed on her leg, trapping her under the 70 lb door. When I called Viking range to let them know and ask them to recall the fridge and replace mine they did nothing about it. I have had problems with my other Viking products. Do not buy Viking appliances. They are defective and Viking will not stand by their products. I have contacted a lawyer and am going forward with legal action.
Viking Ranges has a good name and their product was what my wife wanted. The quality of the range that we bought from them is fine and we like its looks. Weve only had it for a month or so and we havenât done a whole lot of cooking or baking on it, but weâre happy with it. The Viking range, though, is very expensive.
Overall, Im happy with my Viking refrigerator. I like the look of it. I also like the separate cheese tray.
Ive had Viking in a previous home 15 years ago. At that time, I liked it better than anything else that was comparable of the professional series. However, theres one thing that some of the other ranges have that Viking didnât and maybe still doesnât have, and thatâs different sized burners. My wife makes espresso every morning with the little Italian coffee pot, and all of the flame diameters are bigger than the actual espresso pot that were using. So we have to put it on the side and it uses about a third of the flame and two-thirds that has nothing. I know that some other brands have ones where the back burners are small. Itâs the only thing that I wish was different. But I like that Viking is sturdy and uses gas.
We bought an entire kitchen of Viking appliances in September 2019. This included a dishwasher, gas range, and double ovens. The double ovens broke less than 3 months after installation. The lower oven would not turn off and the series of buttons on the control panel fell inside the housing. After 2 weeks of calling, they sent a repair service to diagnose the problem. The circuit board was melted from heat. They came back a few days later and said it was a bad design and would fail again. 1 day later it failed again. Now we have been without ovens thru the Christmas holidays and the entire month of January. This equipment is junk and we wasted $20,000.
We bought a Viking refrigerator 15 years ago. We purchased a new refrigerator to replace one that wasnt working anymore. We had no choice but to buy another Viking because we invested in cabinetry and itâs the only thing that would fit. However, it doesnt fit even if the specs said it would. It was a disappointment. The current model is two inches deeper than the original side by side that fit in the 24-inch cabinet. Viking would not take it back but the appliance company would, but we had looked at other side-by-side models. We would have had to use a stainless and our panel wouldnât fit. In addition, nobody makes a counter depth refrigerator anymore. Wed have to invest in the columns to do that, and theyâre significantly more expensive. Weâre stuck with the Viking refrigerator. Also, they gave us a deal and we had gotten a dishwasher for free that came along with the refrigerator. Vikings specs need to be more accurate in terms of calling something counter depth when itâs really not counter depth. The refrigerator freezes things on the top shelf. Then we had a hinge problem. We had people out of here twice to fix the hinges. The door is also extremely heavy and has a metal compartment on the door. And itâs much heavier than the other unit. Although its a great refrigerator, Iâm not enamored with Viking products. I also own a second Viking, a 36 inch with a lower freezer, which is still working after 15 years.
Viking refrigerator VCSB483DSS. Purchased this very costly unit in late 2008. The ice maker and water dispenser has failed many times, we had to pay to install a heater inside the unit to stop it from freezing. The motor that turns the ice maker has broken twice. The door hinge has been replaced twice. The ice drawer has split. The water pump has malfunctioned three times causing the entire interior of the freezer to freeze over and today another $425 to replace the touchpad thermostat. My floors are ruined from all the assorted leaks. Should have just bought a simple $900 refrigerator from Sears. We have spent $3000 on repairs. Total failure. Never again for Viking.
I like the look of Vikings range and they made purchasing easy for us. When I was buying it, they had a special wherein I would get a free microwave. Plus, I didnt feel like I was getting pushed into something I didnt want. We had an issue when the first range showed up with some markings and scratches so we had to return it. The next one we got had a problem with the bottom right range igniting. Still, the range I got in the end works fine and looks good. It has four burners. It also has an open burner and I like the BTUs on it. I also like its low simmer feature.
We bought our Viking range through Best Buy and the customer service was good over there until we started getting the appliances. They said it was like a white glove delivery. They took everything apart and installed it and it wasnt smooth. The fridge door was damaged and they swapped it but it wasnt good. They brought another one and it was exactly the same problem. We had to change it two times. They left that plastic that covered the stainless steel of the fridge. They didnt remove it well so its hard to get it now. Then, the first person that came to install the range said he didnt know how to install a gas range and an electrical oven so he just walked away. The other people that came to install it had the pieces they needed to bring, but they didnt have any other time to come and my husband and I had bought tickets for a concert so my husband had to miss that. I had to go by myself and we lost the money on that. And the guy was saying racist things. Also, the dishwasher came and it was completely destroyed. The door was all bent. We moved into the kitchen without the dishwasher. Then they brought a dishwasher and they installed it bad. They sent us the new people to install it and those people treated me really bad. It was a battle. If Viking has their product represented by Best Buy, it wasnt good and unfortunately, thatâs reflected on Vikings product. But when we had a little problem with our range and we had to call Viking for the warranty, which was surprising, they resolved it. They sent a company that will come cover my area and they came after I called. It was relatively fast.
We had Viking range many years ago in our other home. We purchased again and when I got the oven, three months later, it stopped working. So I called the distributor that I bought it from and they contacted Viking and got the approval for warranty repair. Then they had a local service company contact me to take care of the problem. The contractors were fine. The issue with the Viking oven is that the hinges were either the wrong hinges or installed improperly. The oven did not close and stay closed. So during baking, it would overheat and a safety feature would kick in and turn the oven off. It was disappointing to have an oven that we had thought was really a good product, come and basically stop working, not being usable within three months. The service repairman replaced two parts that he thought were temperature-related. But it turned out that it was the door not staying closed that was causing the oven to malfunction. Its working fine now that the door stays closed. I like the range itself now that it works.
From the day my refrigerator was installed, it didnt work. The temperature was always above 45 degrees. A repairman was sent to my house 12 times between April 2008 and May 2009. Then miraculously, a different guy came and it seemed worked for 14 months. To this day, I do not know how one guy fixed it in 10 minutes when another guy came 11 times, spent hours and still couldnt fix it. When I voiced this concern, the company accused me of saying the guy did something unethical. So I let it go. A huge mistake. Now, the same old problem is back. I had to agree to pay for the service call and parts which I did. The tech guy recommended certain parts. The repair guy never used those parts instead, he installed a part for $165.00 which was already replaced twice. It cost me $404.00 and the refrigerator is once again not working. Temperature is above 45 degrees. So now what? Junk a $6000.00 refrigerator? I continue to pay for service calls that should have been taken care of when the refrigerator was installed. This is a black hole. No way out. Viking service is terrible. They do not back their products. Do not buy Viking.
I had a Viking Range for 20 years. Then we moved, we got a new house. We liked the range we had. Its solid and it cooks good so we got a new one. The Viking dealer was very nice. However, were having a little trouble with the oven door. When we close it and it hit a certain spot, it takes off and slams close. And the hinges, when we open and pull it a certain way, it pulls right off of the oven. Ive got Vikings reply and was told that they were still waiting for the new parts.
My husband and I remodeled and bought the Professional side by side in 2006. We had it replaced due to a dent in it and the ice machine not working in 2008 by warranty. The replacement had issues too. We have replaced the ice container a couple of times for $300 ea. Now its broken and it will cost $500. We noticed that there were 2 screws that are missing. It has been worked on but not sure if it was factory or labor issue. Plus water dispenser doesnt work. Thatâs been worked on too. Recently cleaning the fridge out, I noticed cracks on the inside of the door unit. The drawers are all broken. We replaced a couple of them about two years ago for $100 ea. Broken again. The fridge still works, but the breakage is not good.We had a refrigerator for over 20 yrs prior to this that still worked and had no problems. Buyers remorse? Probably. I have pictures showing the issuer cracks inside of the unit. By the way, my hubby and I are senior citizens and take care of our things. I would love to be able to send my concerns to the company with pictures.
This is my first Viking Range. Granted, itâs one of the lower end models, but still not cheap. I was very disappointed with the incredibly loud vibration noise made by the convection oven. Repair/ motor and fan replacement was unsuccessful. Seems itâs the back vent that vibrates? Not the fan. Still canât use when I have people over because itâs in my âopen conceptâ kitchen. One knob had to be replaced because it stuck and I couldnât easily turn off the burner. This all in the first month of use... not what I expected from Viking.
We rebuild our house in 2006 and decide to get top quality appliance for kitchen. After 5 years we have problem when warranty was over. Refrigerator was not cooling. We spend $700.00. Few month after icemaker was not working. We call authorize dealer tech. They charge $500. Few month after that cold water dispenser is not working. After couple of year again all same problem. Now in 2016 again same it was not cooling. Water dispenser is not working one after other. So far we spend @ $2500 for repair. It is not worth to spend $6000 to buy this build in 48 inch refrigerator. We have another GE refrigerator for 20 years no problem at all.
I didnt like that the Viking refrigerator that I had was difficult to defrost. I also had to call customer service because the refrigerators light was not working and somebody said that the motherboard was not working. So, there were three times that they came and changed, and then they replaced the fridge altogether. The technicians were fine, but it took me a long time. I got the refrigerator in February, and finally, the replacement came and happened in April. Still, overall, Im satisfied with Viking.
Our home is new construction and not our permanent home. We plan to live in the house 50% of the time. We moved in October 20, 2020. We purchased all Viking kitchen appliances and mind you this is our first Viking purchase and will be our last. After the first use of the stove top, it started rusting. The front panel and the back vent panel. No chemicals were used to clean. All I used was dawn detergent, water and a microfiber cloth. After contacting Viking we were told that we have a 90 day cosmetic warranty so they are willing to replace the parts that are rusting. Huh??? The oven had not been used or the oven door had not been wiped down. The microwave or dishwasher had not been used either at this point. So Viking was to just replace the parts that are rusting and Im to hold my breath that nothing else rusts in the 90 days or it will not be covered. Am I the only one who thinks this is unacceptable?I told Viking that stainless steel should not rust and so quickly. After submitting a request to Viking for a replacement range, management declined my request. I bet if âmanagementâ paid $7000 for a range and it rusted the first time they cooked, they would not find this acceptable. I will never buy Viking again and their customer service stinks. Iâve had to call Viking every time because they do not call back or follow up.
Our very expensive Viking built in refrigerator keeps leaking from the freezer. It is besides other numerous problems it has developed since we bought it 1.5 ago. There is a few technicians available in the area. We also bought a Viking 6 burner range. Its been disastrous as well. We bought a Viking toaster and loved until it was recalled and deemed life threatening. Stay away from VIKING!!!
Purchasing a Viking range was the contractors decision, but we were asked if we were okay with that and to me its one of the best out there. The whole thing is awesome because right now in my other home, I have an electric range and theres no comparison. You can cook faster and you can turn it off and on and have the heat go away. We have the grill part in the middle of our range, which I havent used yet but I love that feature. Overall I havent used the range much yet since its our second home and we were only there over the holidays, but the little bit that I did, I loved it.
To say that I have been extremely disappointed with my Viking oven is putting it mildly. This oven has broken three times since 2012. Two of those times was in the middle of cooking Thanksgiving Dinner. The problem with this oven is a computer chip panel that continually burns out when the oven becomes hot. I have had to replace this part twice. I question why Viking would engineer such a problematic oven and then offer a replacement part that is only under warranty for a year. I have contacted Viking customer service by phone and by letter and their only response is to tell me the part is no longer under warranty. I have replaced the Viking oven and I will never buy another Viking product. I am writing this to alert other consumers to be aware of this issue and the lack of customer service when considering purchasing a Viking range.
We got the Viking refrigerator through our builder that arranged everything and because of that getting the service and the registration was cumbersome. In those situations, it could be made easier. We purchased the appliances almost two years ago but our house wasnât completed until just now so, thatâs a little bit of a difficulty. Other than that, our Viking refrigerators quality is very good and we like its size.
I have a Viking stove that Ive been pleased with it so I assumed their refrigerator would be of good quality. I got a brand new one and it was a store model because the other refrigerator was going to be a three-month wait, which I couldnt wait for. I received the refrigerator in June and I like the appearance of it. But I noticed one issue in mid-July where the door doesnt shut properly. The icemaker then broke in September. I noticed that it was freezing stuff in the back of the fridge. That was probably a few weeks afterward but I suspect it hadnt worked at all. I was told that there are three broken parts in my fridge and there is nothing that Viking can do until the supply chain works its way out. Im not pleased.
My wife wanted Viking, and she got Viking. Weâve had the refrigerator for a month and everythingâs great, but one part was damaged during delivery. The inside of the door was mangled where the light is for the temperature and I can hear the refrigerator making a gurgling sound when the house is perfectly quiet. Viking sent somebody out and the guy couldnât come out until after I had to go to work. Although the door was replaced and its perfect, the noise is still there. The guy told my wife that it was Freon running through the tubes, and I donât know if itâs even that. It could be that itâs water running through my heating system, but I never heard it before. My heating system makes noise, but the plugs for the heater are in the wall behind the refrigerator. I never heard that sound until our refrigerator was installed and Im not satisfied. Iâm being told itâs a normal noise and I wanna make sure. If itâs normal, Iâll learn to live with it.
Our Viking range was installed around the end of August to the beginning of September, and its really convenient. We got it for the quality and it has been awesome so far. I just want to have somebody come and tweak it because some of the burners seem to not hold the flame steady. Ive also tested the oven and Im really impressed with how it heats fast and holds the temperature.
I had only been using my Viking Refrigerator for five months when the freezer would all of a sudden stop working. Then certain parts of the refrigerator would freeze things. I had to have someone keep coming out. They techs came pretty quickly but then I had to keep having to wait for parts and COVID. They came at least 3 times to change parts and I wasnt able to use the freezer part of the refrigerator for six months. Finally, I had to get another refrigerator. I wouldnt ever go and purchase a Viking appliance myself.
Th experience with Viking has been good so far. The silver is fantastic but itâs funny how things are made nowadays. The old Viking stove was a lot heavier and solid compared to the new one. But the stove works great and I have no issues with it. When it first came out, they had to come and fix the seal on the front glass. During manufacturing, it was smooshed and not done right. But they fixed it quickly. I like how quickly and evenly the range cooks. But in trying to clean it up, I take the grates on and off and I noticed that the shiny part thatâs the top of the stove scratches super easily. My last one didnât do that so the coating isnt as good as it used to be.
20 years ago we went with a Vulcan, a true industrial appliance and after years with that, we decided that we wanted something more refined. Viking Ranges features and design fit what we wanted so we bought it. I wish it was more affordable but we love it. I have three favorite features of the range. One is the thermostatic griddle because that was one of the big things that the Vulcan did not have. We had the combination broiler griddle so we had to manually manage the temperature on the griddle, which was a ridiculous amount of effort. Thus we didnt use it much. Having the thermostatic griddle now makes it very usable because it makes it simple - turn it on, set the temperature, wait 10 minutes and cook. Another favorite feature is the convection. I use it almost all the time. The last one is actually an accessory but I do really like it and thats having the wok grate. There was one defect with the range and we worked through the dealer that we bought it from and it was good. They thought at first that it was a defective grease trap so they just sent out a replacement. When that didnt fit, they decided to look a little closer. In the end, it turned out that the griddle assembly was not welded together properly, thus the reason that the grease trap didnt fit. The problem was addressed and weve had no other issues.
I was looking at Thermador, Viking, and Wolf, and read reviews on all of these. But aesthetically, I liked Viking better in the price that I was looking for. I love it. I like the burners, the handles, the very large oven, as well as the top and bottom trays that move on the inside. I have the 36-inch, with a six-burner and the size is great. I went from cooking on electric to liquid propane, so its a little different. It took me a bit of time to get used to the timing for the oven, but now that I do, I like it because it cooks so much quicker on the stovetop. The oven is a little bit slower, but it seems to make the heat evenly dispersed, so it cooks much better salmon, chicken, and quiche. Any issue that I had, Viking resolved immediately. They were honest, efficient, very responsive to any calls, and had great customer service. They were really good to work with, and the installers did a great job. I couldnt be happier.
I had my brand new Viking stove delivered on Nov. 28, 2012. I used the oven twice and, right before the holidays, around December 21st or so, my oven stopped working. Due to the holiday rush, I could only get the repairman from the store on December 26. He came, checked the stove and concluded that the spark unit needs to be replaced. Imagine that! Three weeks after the purchase, an essential part of the stove needs replacement. Today is January 7th, the store ordered the piece but Viking Company does not have it. It is on back order. The Gerhard Appliance store people have been reasonable but the Viking company has provided me with a useless appliance: a stove without a functioning oven and no part to replace the broken one. I am really angry and would never buy a Viking product again. I would like to return the stove and get my money back.
Our Viking works really well and its a good range all around. Thats why we use them. I like the broil feature on it. We had to have one of the burners swapped out and the fire bar underneath adjusted on the last range we purchased. It was really smooth to deal with customer service and the rep that came out was amazing. On the whole, the Viking range is expensive but its worth it. I wish I could have gotten a bigger one. I just didnt have room in this house.
We purchased a very expensive Viking refrigerator from Best Buy a couple years ago. Within just a few months, all of the adjustable shelves in the door started to break. The shelves are a combination of metal and brittle plastic. Once the plastic shatters, they are unrepairable. The replacement of the shelves is NOT covered by the warranty. We went ahead and overpaid for two replacements from Viking, which then proceeded to break as well. We are down to one shelf in the door which will not likely last much longer.
We purchased the DMOC in 2007 (no longer available). Beginning in 2009 the problems began. First, a fuse. Then the wiring circuit was bad, followed by the door switch which was faulty.. was repaired. Then replaced a fuse again (same one), and it quit again a week ago. We called the Viking Southwest President and spoke with him. Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! He stated he would get the record of repairs from their authorized service company (whom we did use!) and he would get back us. No call back. We called again and left a message 4 days after our initial conversation. No call back. Today, a new convection microhood from the competition was installed!
I went to the store and looked at all the different refrigerator models. I was doing a kitchen remodel and I was going for a certain kind of look. I was looking at the GE CafĂŠ and the KitchenAid that had the kinda industrial handles. I didnât find Viking Refrigerators until my second or third trip. The thing that basically made me go to the Viking was that it had the handles that match my GE CafĂŠ double oven. It looks very similar. Also, I was going back and forth between the French door and the side by side. But when I finally decided on the French door, and that was a whole process, the thing that drove me away from the GE and the KitchenAid was the inside design. I liked Vikings inside design the best. Some of the situations on the others were, when the door was open, you couldnât open the vegetable drawer all the way unless you really, really open the door wide. Sometimes, the French door even blocks the drawers from opening. Another issue was that a lot of times, the shelves had an enter too at the back so things would fall down the back. I didnât like the fact that itâs like if I put something on the shelf and if itâs small enough, itâs gonna end up falling down at the back of the refrigerator and I really didnât want that hassle. But the bottom line is I like the look. The quality in terms of not having maintenance issues was good.
Our last refrigerator didnt last very long. It was off square and Viking determined that it was dropped during delivery and they wouldnt take responsibility for it. They didnt stand behind their warranty. They passed it off to the delivery instead of trying to help me out after as much as I had spent on it. So we had to buy a new one. So far, its working but it has squeaky doors which makes me think theres some issue with the alignment.
So, new refrigerator and freezer to replace a defective Viking product previously installed. The installers were amateurs. They came by to survey the house to make certain they could get the equipment in, but still brought the wrong equipment to get the units in the house. They also did not bring the correct tools to complete the installation. They had to borrow from another contractor that I had working at the house and from me to get the units installed. Totally unacceptable. Finally installed, and the freezer doesnt make ice, really???After two additional trips, someone determines that the wrong switch was installed on the freezer by the factory. It took over 5 WEEKS to get this resolved, TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I tried to buy American and local, I live in Mississippi, but I get torpedoed by Vikings total ineptitude at building products and by Vikings installation agents complete incompetence. I will NEVER recommend Viking for ANYTHING. Your products are totally inferior and installation is an abomination.
Everything is fantastic with my Viking range. The brand was associated with high-end quality, durability and functionality and I wasnt misled, thats for sure. I really liked the fact that it seems like a commercial kitchen, but yet there are some modern aspects to it. It works how I want it to work. While I dont anticipate purchasing another one anytime soon, I have no doubts that if I ever needed another range, I would be coming back to Viking.
All of our appliances are Viking, which is a high-end brand. But I guess Viking is new with refrigeration. The quality of the refrigerator we got from them has been horrible. It does not hold the temperature. It freezes everything that its not supposed to freeze in the actual refrigerator side of it and its very loud when it makes ice. It doesnt have any special feature other than a normal refrigerator. It doesnt even have the water feature. So were having some very big issues with it and would never buy a Viking again. But when we had a couple of other issues with the refrigerator not having some proper framing, the team members at the Viking dealer have been very good to work with and have shown up on time.
Weve had our Viking refrigerator for eighteen years. In that time weve had three service calls and one recall. Now the unit needs a complete new cooling system costing thousands of dollars. Realizing that the unit was way out of warranty, I called customer service anyway to see if they would a least share part of the repair cost with me. They were adamant that they would not. When I purchased the unit I fully expected that it would outlast the less expensive brands. An independent repairman suggested that it would be worthwhile to forego repair and buy another refrigerator, not a Viking as he considers them as expensive junk. I guess cost does not equal quality.
First unit replaced by HADCO because of compressor failure. Second unit is worse with multiple issues and problems; ice build up on bottom freezer, water leaking onto hardwood floor, plastic drawer fronts and pulls breaking, ice maker supply tube freezing, bad door seals, both door hinges broken, and several more issues. Ive had it with Viking and HADCO and have a Facebook page: ** for others to post photos and complaints with the hope we will be heard by Viking.
I knew about Viking Ranges long ago from listening to my clients. After pricing the products towards the end of the year, Viking had a better promotion. I picked the range that I wanted online, went in, and paid for it. My favorite about it is its easiness of use, though I had expected more with the rangeâs quality for the price that I spent on it. But everything was perfect with Viking. They were also very good about sending someone to fix the range when one of the burners wasnât working. It took them a couple of weeks to send somebody out.
We thought that there was an issue with the range. After speaking with several people, those individuals from customer service didnt know about the product and how it works. So, we had to have two specialists come out to look at it. The first one couldnt give us an answer, and the second one looked at it for about two minutes and said that the issue we were having was completely normal. It took us about a month to feel like we were using it safely before someone said that and we didnt expect people on the phone to know exactly what the product is. We havent used the range to its full potential as of yet but were happy with it.
I love the quality of our Viking range. I like how adjustable the burners are, while my wife likes the oven. She does a lot of baking. She also likes the way the range looks, and thinks Viking ranges are of higher quality than others. Our experience has been good so far. So, I would recommend them.
We wanted to redo our kitchen and weâve known Viking for years. My husband wanted them and Viking was the only one who had the French Oven Doors which I wanted. I have used the oven, the refrigerator, the microwave and the ice maker. Our other refrigerator was so deep that you were constantly digging for stuff. The Viking ref is less deep, tall and I can see whatâs there when I open the door. We bought it in Best Buy since we live in Hawaii and we were very limited on where we could go for certain things. It did not go well because it took us four hours to order when we already had all the model numbers. They worked with us but it wasnât a pleasant experience. Nevertheless, weve been really pleased with what weve got and weâre happy.
Viking Ranges were at the store that we went to. We talked to a Viking rep and also to the salesman and our experience was very pleasant. They were very knowledgeable about the product. We got the six-burner range and we liked the size of the range and the burners. The quality is also very good. I like the convection oven because Iâve never had one. The range is everything we wanted it to be. Itâs very easy to use and easy clean.
I was told about Viking and I made my third purchase from them. The decorator talked me into it too. But I have a problem with all of their equipment like with my refrigerator. I called the person that takes care of the fridge and they told Viking that it pushes back. I had to have a man come twice and pull this forward. Im now having a contractor to come in and put a bar behind it. Its very hard for me to get into the refrigerator doors because its halfway locked in next to the oven. The freezer is lousy too and somehow makes a lot of ice.Im not so thrilled with the oven either. Its very expensive. I have stainless steel and its so hard to clean that up. The dishwasher is also complicated. Sometimes it goes on and sometimes it goes off. I called to find out what Im doing wrong and I had to push the button again. I would not recommend Vikings to anybody. I had it for a few months and I have a problem with all of their equipment. Viking products look good and everybody is impressed with the fact that theyre so pricey, but I hate Viking and want to tell my friends its the worst. Im unhappy and its been a terrible experience.
This is the 2nd time since owning my Viking range that Ive experienced TERRIBLE service - the first time was when the range was brand new - it took months to get a new door. And now 2-1/2 yrs later the door has fallen apart AGAIN - service call started on 1/3/2018 - Service came out to assess the issue on 1/8/2018 - and NOTHING SINCE - Ive called on 1/11/2018 and 2/13/2018 both times never getting a call back with a status as promised. I must say that for what this range cost I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the quality and the companies that provide service for Viking products. I owned other brands of ranges over the past 20 years and never once needed service.
I like that Vikings interior was metal and not plastic. Its a beautiful 42 inch brand new fridge but my experience with it has been sucky. The ice maker didnt work. It would make one layer and then it would stop. It took three trips from the repairman to fix it and it was frustrating. They came here once and couldnt figure it out. They brought a new ice maker and put it in. It still didnt work. I had to call again and they told me stupid things to do like turning down the freezer, but it was already at minus one. How the hell low do they want me to make the freezer? Then they changed the ice maker again. It is now fixed and doing good but Im worried that its gonna go out of warranty if it breaks again. I wasnt happy with the service at all.
Ive had my brand new Viking refrigerator since September 8 and it has been a lemon. Itâs the third icemaker thatâs been gone into it. The doors were supposed to come and before they could, the inside of the doors just started falling out of it. I had no icemaker during Thanksgiving and Christmas. They put one in one week and immediately it went before Christmas day. Weve been waiting and waiting and waiting, and a new icemaker came yesterday. And after 2 months, the icemaker decided to start working. This is a very sick refrigerator. I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator before and it was wonderful. But on my Viking refrigerator, every time I close the door, it dumps ice on the floor. The repairman said yesterday âWell, all refrigerators do that.â But my Sub-Zero didnât. I was led to believe that Viking was a better appliance than the Wolf packages, but its not. I am very disappointed in what I thought was gonna be a very good product. And another thing was Ive had to ask for books to operate it. I called and told them I didnât get any manual to work with me. They told me I can go online and print it out but it was 30 pages to print out.
Purchased a high end Viking Refrigerator in Oct, 2008 for just under $5,000. In August 2015 it stopped cooling due to a Freon leak. Local appliance repair fixed it temporarily by recharging at a cost of $541. Permanent fix required replacing defective Viking parts that were covered by warranty and ordered on Oct 1st. However labor costs of $1,800 plus tax were NOT covered.By Nov. 5 the parts had still not arrived. I contacted Viking customer service and got no satisfaction or assurance, so I wrote the COO of Viking a letter with the facts and expressing my dissatisfaction. It takes over 5 weeks to replace defective parts that are covered by warranty! It costs me $1,800 in labor to replace Vikings defective parts! I received NO response whatsoever from the COO or anybody at Viking. Eventually the parts arrived at the end of November and the refrigerator was repaired on Dec 7 -- OVER 2 MONTHS after the parts were ordered! With that kind of quality and their non-existent service, Ill never buy another Viking product and have recommended the same to every person and appliance seller I know.
Ive known Viking from many years ago in the food service business. I wasnât going with the Viking Refrigerator, but with the Viking cooktop. Both appliances came as a package deal and the sales pitch was one item would be free, so it was easier for me to do that. I would have never gone with Viking for my refrigeration purchase. Iâve been using the refrigerator for about a month now and it appears very sturdy and I feel its gonna last. It also appears to do a great job to have the room that I thought it did for its size. I also like the digital controls on top that tells me whatâs going onPeople have to understand the options that come with their Viking Refrigerator, like the ice maker versus non-ice maker, down to if they have water filtration for access to waterspouts. Viking is really there when youâre looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. I had the direct vent and it hasnât worked since day one. After three months, they finally decided to replace it. I saved my money for a very long time for those items and they are the biggest expense Ive ever made on appliances. It was quite depressing knowing that Viking didnât stand by some of their equipment. So, be cautious.
Ive known about Viking for years. Ive had Sub-Zero for years, but we just replaced it with the Viking. I liked the quality of the Viking refrigerator I received. Itâs a side-by-side refrigerator. However, thereâs one thing I donât like and that is there are no shelves on the freezer side of the door. There are shelves on the door on the top, but just not on the bottom. Iâm used to the Sub-Zero having the shelving all the way down on the door.
We went with Viking because it was highly recommended but the doors of the range we got were off and they would stick out to one side. The quality was horrible. They brought me another one and I told the guys to make sure that the unit is okay before they remove the one that I had. When they opened it, the guy said itâs worse than what I got. They took it back and brought me a different one. The one I ordered was a Series 5 and when the man came from Viking, he looked at them and said he was gonna move me up to a Series 7. It still had a little bit of a problem but their guys came and removed the bottom plate and kind of played with it. Now, it works perfectly. It took about a year until I finally got the one that I presently have. I had to go and buy an induction hotplate. Whoever is putting these things together, their quality control people are not doing a very good job. The range is wonderful but the experience was terrible. After paying so much money for a range and then have to deal with so much drama with it, I wouldnât do it again. My son is building a new house and I told him to not get into a Viking stove.
The built-in microwave is just one year old (I moved-in in 12/2016) and the panel light is getting dimmer and dimmer. When I called Viking technical support they said the whole control board has to be replaced. And it is out of warranty. This microwave has been used less than once per day.
Were happy with the Viking range. I like the gas burners and the functionality of the oven itself. Their customer service overall was good when I called them to resolve a problem. They were responsive and positive.
When selecting our refrigerator, we went on Vikings reputation. Also, my husbands in interior design and that was also part of the reason why we chose Viking as opposed to a GE product, which we have at another house. However, we are a little disappointed with Viking. Weâve had the refrigerator for less than a year and all this stuff started happening right around a monthâs time. We were having problems with the ice maker and when I called Viking repair service, they put in a service call. Somebody came out but didnât really do anything other than change the ice maker. He said that it should be working within 24 hours but it still is not. They came for a second service call after that. The contractors follow-up was not up to what I think Viking would expect from their name though. Ive had to follow up twice with the service repair people to find out what was going on with my refrigerator. They have been telling me that they needed to order another ice maker and a different part but based on the recent weather in the Southeast, it was being delayed. There are also other things that I have to have the repair person look at. We have a bottom refrigerator and the door clicks every time we hold the door open. Other than that, I had received a part that is supposed to be on one of the doors so that you can have butter or whatever else you want to use in a climate-controlled environment. But it doesnât fit in there and nobody that Iâve called at Viking has been able to give me an answer on how to have it fit. But other than that, we like the refrigerator, me probably more so than my husband.
One year into our viking kitchen we have been completely satisfied with the gas range top, French door oven, warming drawer and microwave. Everything has worked first rate. We would recommend to anyone looking for a high end appliance.
I had a lot of trouble with my Viking range. When I turned the convection, it was so loud that I would never use it. But Ive not had a convection option before, so I didnt know that what I had wasnât how it should be. And because it was way too hot, I called to have it calibrated, and the man who came out was outstanding. He tested the temperature, turned on the convection and said, That shouldnt sound like that. So he took it off and ordered the part. But the first time they ordered it, the wrong part came in. They called me that day and told me that he had checked it and it wasnt the right part, then they ordered the new one and they were wonderful. After it was fixed, I baked a cake and I loved it.We also bought another non-Viking appliance from Specialty Appliance in Colorado, where we bought our Viking range, and that had trouble, too. First we tried to have it fixed ourselves, and then I remembered that the salesman of Specialty Appliance had said, If anything is wrong, call us. So, I called them and they jumped all over getting somebody here and getting it fixed. And as for my range I love how it looks and how easy it is to take the grids off the top and clean it. I also love the gas cooktop with the electric oven. Im very happy with Viking.
We were renovating a house ten years ago and the Viking refrigerator was going to fit in to the architectural design better than anything else because it was a built-in. The Viking dealer we dealt with was courteous and friendly. But my Viking refrigerator failed. It had an uneven box or something was wrong with its door, so Viking had to replace it. It was out of warranty so they gave me a new unit at half-price. At that point, they also offered to give me a freezer at a half-price, which I did take. But there are now icicles in the freezer. Theres a leak that they cant fix. So Im waiting for Viking to call because it looks like theyre going to have to replace the freezer again. The service is fine but the wait is crappy. The service takes a while because there arent enough techs in the area. Maybe the service tech is servicing such a large area that its a long wait time to get somebody to come and look at the machine. Theyve got one service guy in Northern Illinois who services the Milwaukee area. So theyre hard to schedule. Im frustrated because their products are so expensive. I have not had the best experience.
I was expecting a little more from the Viking dealer and I thought they should be more knowledgeable, however, they were just average. Also, the refrigerator was overpriced, but itâs okay. One day, I looked at my refrigerator section and the temperature rose a little bit like 46 degrees. Then I looked at the freezer and itâs frozen and I didnt know why. I unplugged it for a day then restarted it. Itâs okay for now and itâs been months since then. I tried to call customer support about the issue because there was warranty. I made a schedule but then I canceled it.
Im a chef instructor and Viking is among the top brands. My choice was between Viking and Wolf, and Viking, hands down, won out, certainly among all my colleagues. Viking was also offering awesome sales that I felt I needed to take advantage of because I also needed a microwave. However, going through the purchase was absolutely horrific. My biggest mistake was that I went through an online retailer, Appliances Connection, instead of going through someone local. They were offering, at the time, the best price but they were miserable. They were really good at taking my money. It took several months for everything to be in stock. When the delivery was scheduled, they were supposed to give me warning but they did not and I had to rush home from work. Im a teacher so I had to have somebody cover my class because they called and said they were going to be at my house in 10 minutes. It was absolutely ridiculous. We were told that we would have their white glove service, which means putting the appliances in place and installing it but they did none of that. They left all of that plastic on that the refrigerator comes delivered with which was excruciating to get off. It took my husband and I about two hours to get all that plastic off. The biggest problem that we still have to this day is the fact that we cant get the refrigerator leveled. The bottom freezer door sometimes closes but sometimes it doesnt. If we dont shove that door in, it will sit ajar and Im very frustrated by that. I get that all of these French door refrigerators are persnickety in a way, but I expected more from Viking. I called Appliances Connection and they said theyd refund me the installation fee. But they didnt do that and it doesnt solve the problem. I had sent a message through Vikings online service several months ago but I never heard back from that. I finally had some time where I could stay on the phone and got through to Viking. I was told to call a number and theyd take care of it. I called the number and the woman was very nice. She said Id be hearing from somebody in a week to 10 days but I never did hear from anybody.I still have a refrigerator that I would like to love very much but Im not loving it so much right now. I would love to hear from somebody from Viking because Im not a happy customer. If their representative had done what they were supposed to do, it probably would never have gone back to Viking. But I dont think Vikings done a good job of having a proper network in place to make sure that customers get taken care of. These are not cheap products. I can get a crappy appliance and crummy service by going anywhere. Between the pieces that I got, I spent close to $12,000. Thats a lot of money. But I would still buy Viking products because theyre a leading brand in the industry, they have a good warranty and I love the way they look.
Very pleased with the quality as well as the aesthetic of the 2 products I purchased (30 range and 30 hood). The performance of my gas range is superb and cooking temperatures are achieved quickly. Cleaning and maintaining the range looking like-new is also easy.
The unit I purchased had a dent in the front door and I got it for a discount at Lowes. It was a really good price. A year later, it has stopped cooling. Lowes told me when I bought it that even though it was cosmetically damaged, itd be under factory warranty. Viking sent a repairman out because they acknowledged the warranty. When they were at my house, they said, It was damaged in shipping and you have to call Lowes.â So I called the warranty company and they said âYou bought it on sale from Lowes. Therefore, itâs as is.â Then I said, âI wouldnt have bought the refrigerator for $6,000 if I thought it was not under warranty.â So they said, âYouâre beat.â And Loweâs said, âYouâre beat âcause you bought it at a discount.â So I had to buy a Sub-Zero. Neither company helped me. Needless to say, I donât have confidence in either Lowes or Viking. I wasted $6,000 in one year. I lost the $6,000 and then I paid $12,000 for the Sub-Zero. So, I paid $18,000 really for the fridge. I tried to fight it, and I tried to argue with them, and tried to ask everybody that I could for help. Viking doesnt stand behind their product and they wont help you through a crisis.
We purchased our Viking 30 4 burner range in 2006 and have had to replace the spark ignition module three times in that period. It is a $180 part, and though it is easy to replace, it always results in a minimum service charge of $110 for the first hour. Adding it all up, thats nearly $600 in failed spark modules, adding significantly to the cost of an already-expensive oven range, but the worst thing is it is unreliable. You never know if it will fail the day before Thanksgiving or some other big event.
Viking was what the builder was providing as appliances, so we went ahead and bought the Viking fridge to match. The installers didnât put the basket straight in the freezer so I had to figure that out. I had to go to one of the other houses and look at their fridge to see how to do it. The builder also gave me the wrong fridge. Itâs the one with the water feature inside. They gave me an upgrade but we liked to have cold water coming out of our fridge, so thatâs the only thing we miss. Other than that itâs been great. I love the freezer in the bottom and the double door where I could put big stuff in. Thatâs what Ive always wanted. Plus the crisper is really good. Its a very reliable product.
Less than 2 years old is making noises and doesnt clean. Called Viking, they dont have anybody in Erie that wants to repair it. Everybody runs away from my dishwasher. The same people that have serviced my Gaggenau, Bosch and Sub Zeros dont want anything to do with my Viking dishwasher. Professional, what a joke. We have barely used it and is already broken. The worst part is customer service. No help at all. Im cutting my losses and ditching this piece of junk.
I was doing a re-do and I didnât do a lot of research. I recognized the Viking name and I expected it would be a quality product. Since the moment they went in, I find the customer service to be horrific. We had some issues. The stove was leaking. The refrigerator was leaking. The dishwasher hasnt been working properly. All kinds of things. Trying to get through to their customer service meant I needed to reach out to some third party contacts. It was very hard to reach them by phone, I had to email them. It took over a week to hear back before they even got in touch with me.Then they had to contact a service representative. The service representative from my area was horrific. He came into my home and said, âI cant really look at that for you. I cant really touch that because Vikingâs not gonna pay me to do that,â which doesnt exactly lead me to believe that theres a lot of support for anything that goes wrong. Some of the things would have been super easy fixes have they just been willing to say, âOkay, its a brand new product, and were gonna help you.â But they didnt do that.My most recent issue was that the refrigerator is less than six months old, and the vegetable and fruit trays fell off the track. I couldnt get them back on. My husband couldnt get them back on. So we called and that was a month ago. To this day, we still have no answer on how they will rectify that situation. After two weeks, the horrific service man came, looked at it, touched it for one second, and said, âI think its cosmetic. It will be $325 to fix.â That was the last I heard from him. I told him were not paying $325. Its brand new and its not cosmetic. A track on a brand new refrigerator is in no way cosmetic. I didnt smash the stainless steel on the outside of the refrigerator or even crack the glass of a shelf, which I could understand. But a track is a working part. Thats unacceptable. My husband said yesterday that it is a piece of junk. We bought an entire suite as a rebuild. It was a big investment for us. It wasnt an easy purchase, it was something that we did because we thought it would add value to our home and it would be quality appliances, and we wouldnt have to call service a million times like we might have had to call if we bought GE appliances. But I would have been way better off with that. I also had Sub-Zero refrigerators for 35 years before this. Two of them only over 20 years each, and I never had to call the service company. The dishwasher, which we have not called them for service, already has parts that have fallen off of it. Its the most disappointing purchase of my life. I would never buy Viking again. I would never recommend it. The refrigerator, over $10,000 just for the one piece of equipment, they got to have better service. This is not acceptable. Even if the customer ends up having to pay, which I should not have to pay for that, I should at least get somebody to answer my question. I should have a supervisor or a manager call me back to say this shouldnt happen.
Totally disappointed with their service. We are retired. My husband is Vietnam veteran suffering exposure to Agent Orange so the oven is an integral part of our meal preparations. We had a service technician evaluate the problem which was faulty oven door hinges. We asked Viking service could they give us any assistance in covering some of the cost of the hinges or possibly the installation cost. We were told, No. That it is not our policy and we were on our own. As good as this stove has been, I would never buy another Viking product again. I caution anyone considering purchasing their products.
Every Viking appliance we own has had some issue that always cost a few hundred dollars. First, it was the dishwasher that had to end up being replaced. We have experienced the igniter issue on the stove so now we just keep a lighter nearby. Today, the oven just stopped working. The quality and customer service from Viking is the poorest I have ever dealt with. How are they still in business? I am totally dissatisfied and always tell everyone I know to absolutely stay away from Viking unless you like headaches, frustration, poor customer service, horrible parts, availability, and etc. With all the money you will spend on service calls, you are better off replacing the appliance to cut your losses.
I am writing to publicly declare I could not be more disappointed in the 4 Viking appliances my family has purchased. I have the 48â duel fuel range in my home. Both ovens are now not working after using the self clean features on both ovens. I am very upset. The fault is with the Viking appliance company. The cost of the repair should not be my burden. I would never recommend this brand to any of my friends. The one positive thing I have to say is that the range is beautiful. My brotherâs family have 2 exterior refrigerators and an exterior ice maker both from Viking. Each appliance has required multiple repairs yearly. It is infuriating to spend so much money for a professional brand we trusted, that fails repeatedly. Itâs a bitter disappointment to walk outside and not be able to have a cold drink with a glass of ice waiting for you, after investing so much money. Furthermore, the repairs were expensive and repeatedly done by certified Viking repairmen, using Viking parts. The fact that Viking cannot effectively repair their faulty product is pathetic. The Viking company should replace all these appliances free of charge if they are to have any integrity at all.
We purchased ours about two years ago, but it has only been installed for about six months. There was an issue where the company we bought it from didnt deliver several components for the stove, and we didnt realize it until well after it was purchased. They couldnt do anything to help us. It was difficult to get in touch with the Viking parts department and identify what the correct pieces were that we needed to order to fully install the stove. But the stove served us well since weve gotten the parts we needed and had it installed.
We were in the midst of buying a new range and I wanted to see which one was rated the best. We found one that had a good rating and thats what we went in to go look at at PC Richard. But then, my wife saw Viking and the store was running a really good sale on it. My wife liked the way the Viking range looked and she said she always wanted one, so we got one. When we bought it, PC Richard gave my wife a free five-year plan and they also claimed that we can return something within 30 days if we werent happy with it. It wasnt in a day or two when we smelled gas leaking. We called PC Richard and they told us we had to call Viking. Nobody would come out unless we call the gas company to come out. So, the gas company had to come out and they had to sniff on the range to determine that it was leaking and it wasnât the gas pipe. We called Viking back, they sent a serviceman out, it has been a couple of days and were still waiting for Viking to give the parts to the serviceman so he can come in and install it. Itâs been going on a little over a week now. With the amount of money we paid and the range giving us a problem on the first day, my wife wanted to send it back. Then, all of a sudden, PC Richard said, âYou cant.â They pointed to this little obscure sign in the back of the counter that says, âNo returns on appliances.â My wife wasnt happy with that. We didnt see it at that time and it wasnt brought up when we bought the range that you dont have any options. We researched Viking and found online that people were having problems with them. People complained about the service and the length of time to get parts. We brought that up when we ordered the range because we went to PC Richard to cancel the next day before we even accepted and they kept telling to us how great the range was. It was just a sales pitch. If I had to do it all over again, I would not buy Viking.
I wanted a 36-inch range with six burners, but not so many people made them back then. Ive had one from Viking Ranges and have liked it. So, I recently bought a new one at Best Buy and the team there was great. However, my first one was made so much nicer and everything was heavier. They dont make ranges like they used to now, though I would be perfectly satisfied with it if I never had my first one.
I will never buy another Viking product after what we have experienced with our 5-year old Viking refrigerator. Until this year, we were so thrilled with our new kitchen. Then Jan 5, 2013 came and our refrigerator stopped working. We had to throw out well over $1000 in ruined food. Imagine my surprise to find that we couldnt get same day service for such a serious problem. Only after contacting Dave and Donna from RiverBend and Co, where we purchased all of our appliances, did we finally hear from a service company. They came out 2 days later. Since the parts are so expensive for this appliance, they are not kept in stock. Not only were we charged for the new part over $500, we had the honor of waiting almost 2 more weeks for the part to arrive and a service person to come back to install it. A horrible 2 weeks, but at least it was after the holidays and the refrigerator was able to be repaired. October 28, 2013, I came home from work to an alarm. Our freezer had defrosted again! By the middle of the night, the refrigerator alarm was going off. We lost everything for a second time! I called VESCO, the company who repaired our refrigerator the first time and they had no availability to send someone out and were not very interested in our situation. They recommended I call HADCO, and after 24 hrs received a response that they had great news - a serviceman would be in our area in 8 days! I think that is unacceptable. I started searching online to see if other Viking owners had had similar experiences. There are thousands of us posting similar reviews online about these refrigerators. We are heading out to buy a cooler today and now have to wait until Monday to start calling again to get a resolution. We are so disappointed that Viking does not care about its customers. Buyer beware.
I shopped for a long time and Vikings quality for the money seemed to be a good deal. I absolutely love the quality of the range. When I turn on the broiler, its like Stars Wars inside the oven.
The Viking Range is really good and I like their burner power feature. However, we ended up getting one that we didnt even buy which is the appliance dealers fault. We bought the six-burner series with the griddle in the middle but ended up with an eight-burner that they installed. We were not here during the install, which is fine. Iâm not upset about that. But trying to get the griddle and our money back has been a chore and we have been at it for two months and cant understand why it hasnt been done. The guy who owns the place is extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot when we went to see him and he did a wonderful job on the install but the follow-up items after the fact have just been a nightmare for us. But as far as the range goes, my wife absolutely loves it.
Ive known about Viking for years and the choice for the purchase was a toss-up between a Viking and a Wolf but I liked the design of the Viking better. I was redoing my kitchen and I wanted something very attractive in there and yet functional. I did my hardware in brass and silver and the rim of the burner was stainless and I would love to be able to have a little bit more brass on the outside. I noticed some of the higher end range that had the controls on the front and handle and doesnt have a combination of the brass and the stainless. So, I went online this week to see whether or not there were parts that I could buy and swap out for mine. I really dont cook very much but I like the look. One thing that I dont like about the stove and the first time that Ive ever had a stove that was so high-powered is that whenever Im baking or cooking something that produces smoke and I have the oven on a higher temperature then I must put on the vent because it doesnt vent outside. I have to turn on this vent to get rid of it because its hot. Its very hot such that on the first time, it set off the alarms. To put on the vent is annoying and distracting. Either they make some quieter motors or a different ventilation system for the stove so that it vents from the top of the stove. I am dissatisfied with that one feature.
My son has a Viking range and I also saw it in other homes. I was pleased with it and I got one, too. I went to a company thats a distributor of Viking Ranges and their reps were very good and patient, so I ordered from them. Their salesman was not having to win me, but he kept in touch with me and was very good. The range was installed a couple of months ago and I love its sturdiness. I like its quality and burners, too. Its features are really simple. However, they set the igniter too far away and it wasnt adjusted properly from the factory. So, I had to call them to adjust that and my experience went smoothly. I would recommend Viking Ranges.
We have had this VDSC548T6G range/oven for about 3 years. The ignitor on the left front burner takes over 1 minute to light and often does not light at all, this is the only burner of the 6 that has this issue (part is a DSI module). Over Thanksgiving the oven knob/electronic module stopped working (part is Electronic control module). We called a service technician who claimed the parts were no longer available. Anyone have any suggestions for purchasing parts? This is so frustrating.
Weve owned a built-in Viking refrigerator before. The new home we purchased was a construction and the area was really unusual. They had already picked G.E. Monogram appliances but we heard their refrigerator wasnt good. We wanted a higher end refrigerator and since we had experience with Viking, we ordered one online through AJ Madison. It was a stand-alone and theres not many high-end companies that make a stand alone. We didnt have to pay self-tax and shipping. The refrigerator looks pretty cool and the functions are great. Weve been very happy with Viking.
Our Viking refrigerator was installed and its worked. It keeps things cold.
I bought a Viking range and microwave a year ago thinking with the higher pricing, bought higher quality. After one week, the stove top range started falling apart. The numbers on all the dials began rubbing off. Very poor quality. If you just want the range to just look pretty, dont ever plan on actually cooking on it. After one year the microwave has died completely. Its true what others have said. Viking will not come out for repair. They dont care. They sent out a rep., Wuerstlins Appliance Services, Inc. which failed to successfully repair it. Im now calling them out for the third time and Ive been without a microwave in my upstairs kitchen for four months and counting. My walmart microwave in the basement 5 years later is still kicking strong. I recommend not even going down the aisle which displays a Viking product because its a total waste of time and money. Ultimately it Will let you down. I would give it 5 negative stars. Please do yourself a favor and stay far away from Viking products.
Our Viking refrigerator has been excellent. Other refrigerators are so deep that sometimes you cannot see whats in the back of the refrigerator, but ours is wide and shallow so you can see everything. However, I have one issue with Viking since I called them and that is on the warranty. They sent someone out and got my refrigerator fixed, but it was surprising that there are some issues with the brand new refrigerators.
There are vent holes at the bottom of oven. Owner must remove bottom plate to clean food debris that falls into the ovenâs burner area which creates an adverse hygienic condition. Also, annoying oven fan stays on 45 minutes after use.
Ive known about Viking Refrigerators for a long time. We purchased a home recently that had a built-in refrigerator and it had a sub-zero that was not working. I went over to Best Buy to check some stuff out. I knew they had the Pacific Home in there so I went in and got the Viking fridge. We had a rocky start because when they came and delivered it, the refrigeration door was approximately a half an inch lower than the freezer door. And there was no adjusting it. They had to basically come out, take the door off, put some spacers underneath the one side to level it out and get it all to work right, which is pretty frustrating for a $12,000 refrigerator. At first, Best Buy said, Well, youre gonna have to call Viking. and I said, Im not gonna call anybody. I bought it from you so you guys can figure it out or you can come pick up your refrigerator and Ill buy from somebody else. And they figured it out. The lady I talked with at the dealership was very helpful. When she wasnt available the day that I called and there was an issue, she called me the next day. She also called me after the follow up when they came out and fixed it to make sure everything is okay and did a great job.Everything is great. I do like that all the shelving on the doors is all metal instead of the flimsy plastic. We have a separate ice maker so we donât really use the one inside of it too much. It doesnt seem to hold a lot so if that was our only ice maker, that would probably be a downside for us. Overall, the refrigerator is very solid. Were looking to hopefully buy an in-wall oven and a dishwasher from Viking soon.
Viking has got a reputation that it has a very good product. We had a Thermador before and had problems with it so we decided to get a Viking. My husbands a cook and he decided this was what he wanted. When we called in a warranty issue with a fan for the stove, the people from Monterey who handle their warranty repairs came out. The guy was amazing. He did everything that he could find that needed to be done and he was here a few hours. It seems like the whole stove works better since he came out. He came in to replace the fan but now we have lights above the knobs which we never had. It also seems like the burners are hotter. He was out here twice. He came out once and diagnosed the fan problem. Since its an intermittent problem, the only way we were able to show him was that we videoed it. If we hadnt videoed it, they wouldnt have been able to handle it under warranty. Im sure theyre aware that this is an ongoing problem. Ive read about it in the internet as well so my one thing would be when people make a complaint, they shouldnt have to go to the point of videotaping the problem for Viking to authorize the repair. Other than that, we love our Viking Range. Its a really good product.
I am thankful to hear that others have had the horrible experiences I have had with Viking. My issues relate to multiple appliances and again, we purchased an all brand new Viking kitchen, with top of the line features. Since I have had the appliance, I am on an intimate basis with the repair tech referred by Viking whom are not much better in terms of quality and consistency in servicing. Ice maker - I am on my third replacement, finally breaking down to try it again! My accessory doors broke off on day 1, forget it, too expensive to repair. My refrigerator leaks from bottom, put a towel there, itâs easier than trying to get a reputable repair organization to fix it. First, itâs this and then itâs that and then it leaks again. Ice maker replaced 2x, then when it stops working after 30 days, I am told it only has a 30 day parts warranty. Thirty days, are you freaking kidding me? Now the Viking Dishwasher is out and again. Oh Viking had lots of trouble with their computer boards, but now on newer versions, all is good, yeah right. Really, I think this company puts all its R&D investment money into looks, not substance, and itâs damn irritating. The only saving grace for me is that we own a General contracting business and I can truly relate my experiences first hand to the customers only much too eager for referrals on best appliance practices... I would think differently if they even tried to take care of their customers.
We purchased a new home and we told our contractor that we wanted Viking appliances since I had rented an apartment that featured Viking in the kitchen years ago. Price-wise, its reasonable and the quality is outstanding. I like that its very spacious. I had that issue with a refrigerator that I previously owned, as all of these newer refrigerators dont hold that much. I also like the new space for pizza boxes and party platters. But I was disappointed that there is no water dispenser in this model that I have. Also, for some strange reason, it makes a noise even though the door is closed, and its unclear why thats happening. Overall Ive been very pleased. Its a great combination of affordability and quality, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for higher-end appliances.
Weve only had the Viking Range for a couple of weeks. In another home in North Carolina, weâve got a Wolf stove in there. The same company makes Wolf and Vikings but we wanted the Viking Range as it was the best fit for our kitchen in our new house. The dealer was great. On the day that we were supposed to get the range, they pulled the old one out and my husband realized that he had told them the wrong kind of gas fittings that we needed. The dealer, Cummins, told my husband that the one they had fittings on the floor, the one he had looked at, had actually the right ones. So they went ahead and connected that one instead. In the end, they were able to make sure were getting the right thing. So far, Ive been loving the Viking Range. Everything about it is great. I like the way the burners come off. Itâs quiet and seamless. Its oven takes the âtsk, tsk, tskââ then winks a couple of seconds for it to come on. Everythingâs instantaneous. The dials, the knobs and everythingâs easy to figure out. Overall, the range is really well done.
We bought a high-end Viking refrigerator for our home only to have the motherboard go bad. We called a repair person recommended by Viking and he said this is the second call regarding this issue he has received today. Apparently Viking is doing nothing to help customers with what seems to be a known problem. Shame on them!
A part that came with the range was not machined right and it didnt work. I filed a warranty claim and some local shop came out and replaced the part. Since then, the range has been great.
This over/under built in refrigerator looked like a carbon copy of the Sub Zero we had, and loved, in our prior home. Looks can be deceiving. This refrigerator is really a portal to, well, you know where. Why travel to Alaskas famed Mendenhall Glacier to watch huge chunks of ice calve when you can recreate the experience on your hands and knees, blow-drying the freezer section of your Viking, chipping away ice chunks in the faint aurora borialis of the refrigerator light? Over, and over again. I would have to pull repair invoices but venture that weve spent $2,000 in service calls and repairs in the last 8 years: > Broken door shelf brackets > Door seal replacements (think middle of the night temperature warning beeper) > Main control board replacement> Multiple repair visits in attempts to address freezer defrost issuesThe freezer section has been a nightmare. Poor defroster system design leading to repeated, massive ice build-ups and melt-water dripping out of the door and ruining our hardwood floor. Incredibly disappointing for the cost, and perceived quality of this appliance. We highly recommend avoiding Viking.
I like Viking Refrigerators style and the water dispenser feature. Ive had the refrigerator for almost three years now and Viking seems like a quality product. The value for the money is pretty decent. I would recommend them.
