We happened to get a very good deal on the Viking range that we saw. The quality is good. But we had a problem with the thermostat. It wasnt keeping temperature. So we had to have it replaced recently and well see if that will resolve the problem. Other than that, we had a very good experience with the team at the Viking dealer. We bought appliances from them before. They were knowledgeable, low pressure, and local.

My choices are limited when I go to 36-inches as far as the manufacturers. Viking was one of them. And at the time, they gave an incentive. When I bought the range, I got a free Viking dishwasher. The quality is good. When the range was delivered, there were some scratches on it. The store that I purchased it from had somebody come out and take care of it. I used the broiler six months after I bought the range and it didnt work. So, the appliance store sent out whoever they use for repairs and service and they were able to fix the problem. The one question I have is why when you go to a 36-inch range, Viking doesnt offer a self-cleaning oven. Also, the 36-inch range is more of a commercial range. Because we pay a good amount for these ranges, Viking should give a tutorial after they install it. How to use it, what to look for, how to clean it. That would be helpful.

I like my Viking refrigerator, and its style. It fits my needs with all the drawers it has. I like that the freezer doesn’t dry things out and there’s never a freezer burn. When I put something in it, it does not taste like the refrigerator. Also, the ice never tastes funny. I don’t care how old the ice is. It’s perfect. Those are the important things. However, the drawers were cracked. I had a bottle of soda explode in it, and it flows on the top shelf. It’s leaking, and there are only two of us living in the house so it’s not from overuse or abuse. The repairmen have been coming out fixing everything, and the drawers are now fixed and the leak is gone. When we have a problem, we call the dealer and they send someone out, and now they escalated it so someone from Viking comes out. They’re responsive.

We bought a complete set of appliances in 2014. After just four years of normal use, the water dispenser wont stop, the dishwasher display failed and the oven stopped working. When we called the authorized service technician, he charged me $264 just to tell me that some parts need to be replaced and all of them are not covered under the extended guarantee. Just to replace the control board of the oven will cost me more than $800. Also when called the customer service to get a clearer explanation about what is covered and what is not, the representative failed to explain where it says that the control board of the oven is excluded. We are very disappointed with Viking, we bought these appliances believing that they are better than less expensive brands but turns out that they lasted less than our previous appliances and the customer service is far worst. Sorry Viking, but this is not the way to keep your customers faithful to your brand.

We renovated our entire kitchen through P.C. Richards and we purchased Viking through them for our cooking range and I like the look of it. I was supposed to contact them because of two things. One is I was very disappointed aftermarket that I couldnt get a grill pan. We have a lot of company in our summer house and we cook a lot of eggs and bacon. I want a grill like the grill top that I could just put on. I called when we first got the range last year and they said theyll be coming out with it. I called again this year and they still havent. The second thing is one of the burners got defective. It leaks, so we cant use them. It shoots up flames that could cause a fire. When you put it on low and then high, there are flames that really come out of it. But, other than that, were very happy with our Viking Range.

I built a new home about a year ago. I decided to stick my kitchen with what I thought was high quality appliances. I spent over $25000 on a Viking professional kitchen. Been having issues from day one. First, my 48 fridge freezes anything on the top self. After multiple service calls the tech admitted this was an unrepairable design defect. Today my fridge stopped cooling, nice for a $12k appliance. Also, the fridge door squeaks and is out of alignment just from ordinary use. Second, my oven broke the first time I used it. Took about a month to get it fixed, the first time. Couple of months later it broke again, took weeks to fix this time, same defect. Also, the oven has an annoying function that keeps a loud fan running in it to cool it down after each use, takes about 30 minutes each time. So imagine sitting in your open kitchen, serving a freshly baked dinner, then having to listen to something so loud that you feel you have to speak over it. Poor mechanical design and poor quality, wish I could return them.

Do not buy this range. We have had this range for 10 years, and it has been nothing but problems. The starters for the burners had to be replaced, the lights stopped working and every time we replace the bulbs, they immediately burn out, the controller board had to be replaced twice, and now there is no power to the oven coils which leads me to believe that we have another controller board in our future. We bought this range because of the purported quality, the versatility of the gas top and convection oven, and we have been disappointed at every turn. After spending $4200 for a range, you would expect something more than service calls and constant breakdowns.

The refrigerator makes some funny noises and Im a little concerned about how it would work if I ever have to have it repaired. But its not an issue that affects the cooling of the unit so its no big deal. For now, its working great and its aesthetically nice. Its a big block of steel and its pretty imposing. Poorly constructed. Gas ignition/temperature control does not work and has never worked. I purchased my range in 1997. Since then I have replaced the bi-metal gas valve 5 times and the two bake igniters 4 times and broiler igniter once. At present the right burner does not go on unless the gas valve is tapped manually with hammer or butt end of screw driver - so looks like the igniter or gas valve or both are no good again. Also, the oven door never closed evenly, leaking heat. It leaks enough heat to have burnt the exterior finish off the door. One of the oven door hinges has been broken for ever. The oven temperature is always inconsistent. The control knobs, since new have been loose with a lot of play in them. The oven floor is deformed/cracked from the heat of the burners. The wall panels are loose and sloppy and impact the sliding in and out of the racks. Viking does not offer, never has offered support, but rather will refer you to a service tech that does not understand how to get the gas range to operate properly. Dont buy it.

We’re on our second Viking refrigerator because the first one failed after approximately eight years. The newer refrigerator which we got last year is operating great. It has not had the same problems at this point but having to replace a Viking after eight years, Ive never had that kind of circumstance with any other refrigerator brand. There are some parts that get frozen then they start to melt and leak in the refrigerator. They dont go out to the drain. There is this freezing thawing process that is part of the regular refrigeration process but the pathway for the melting gets blocked up. It gets frozen too so the water accumulates in the bottom of the refrigerator. That had happened a couple of times.Ive had problems with a variety of Viking products from double ovens to the refrigerators. I have two homes and I have full suites of Viking appliances in both kitchens. I’ve not been thrilled with them. Viking is overrated. They have a cachet but their performance and reliability do not live up to that cachet. There are lesser prestige brands that perform better than Viking.

Weve heard about Viking from friends since we moved to the US. The realtors also recommended them and told us that they were good for the reselling of the house. So, we went with Viking for their reputation and we bought a built-in refrigerator from them. We love its looks and the lights on the side, and how spacious and practical it is. A repair has already been done on it because there was a problem with the accumulation of ice in it, but that was dealt with promptly and professionally. So far, everything has been great with Viking.

We got a Viking Refrigerator primarily because of the name and reputation. But then unfortunately, Vikings name has suffered in the last few years but hopefully, I wont have any issues with this one. The quality is fine, its fairly modern and it has nice LED lights. P.C. Richard was the dealer and they were professional and very good about it. The only thing I was a little disappointed is that it didnt have any cold water coming out and I would have expected that for a $3700 appliance. But overall, its a nice refrigerator and I would recommend it.

We purchased the high end Viking Double French Door Oven model VDOF730SS approximately 16 months ago. Right away we noticed that the lower oven door did not close properly. Just walking past it could jar it a bit and cause the light to come on. Viking had a repairman come out and replace the hinges (this was a brand new oven mind you), but it did not alleviate the issue. We put off requesting another repair but the warranty is only for 2 years, so we recently requested another repair. The repairman called this morning and said Viking had informed them that our warranty had expired. Our registration plainly states 2 years, and weve only had it for 16 months. We paid $$$ for that oven because of Vikings reputation for high quality. We are very, very disappointed.

I like my new refrigerator and the way it keeps everything cold in each area. There are no warm spots and it fits the space that we have perfectly. I wasnt gonna get a refrigerator with a rollout drawer on the bottom but it seemed to be made well so I opted to go with that instead of the side-by-side. People should do some research into what features each one has and then pick the one that fits overall what their needs are because one of the other reasons we didnt go with the side-by-side is because Viking makes them too tall. We couldnt have something that tall in our space. We only have 70 inches and a lot of those side-by-sides are 72-plus, and thats not gonna fit in the space. Wed have to take the cabinets out at the top and I dont wanna do that because I use those cabinets. So, it would be nice if Viking would make them a little smaller in a side-by-side too. I know two other people who are struggling with the same thing. They have this standard spot that contractors made in their house for the refrigerator, and theyre only about 70 inches tall. When you read the specs, a lot of those refrigerators want you to give them a 2-inch clearance at the top for air and we dont have that. Ours is smack way up to the top but we have air on each side. We havent had the refrigerator that long but Im anticipating that its gonna be a real worker.

Based on reviews online and their reputation with their consumers and my friends, we decided to get a Viking range. The cost of their range is twice the quality ratio. Im not quite sure what I paid the premium for and the quality of the range is in the middle: not great nor bad. The infrared broiler is my favorite feature of the range, but it does not work that well. I also like the convection and the high-BTU burner. The gas regulator stopped working. I follow the instructions as to how to get that stainless cleaned and it doesnt do what the manual tells me. It doesnt really look like I would want it to look, which is to look uniform. It doesnt come out even and the surface is so bad to clean that I keep those fiberglass things so that when I open and close the doors, I dont have to do the handles constantly. And the other thing which we didnt know when we purchased it was we just assumed it had an ice maker and it doesnt have an ice maker.

Our Viking Range was only 4 years old when a tiny part in the electronic panel broke in half. After searching for many hours for someone willing to come and fix it, we were told that most likely the whole electronic panel would have to be replaced. Not satisfied with this, we continued our research and found that this defect was very common, and that the $20 dollar part could be purchased and replaced quite easily. We found someone that ordered the part (he was the one that told us that this was quite common and that a recall should have been done on our model of range).Since being fixed, the control knob has never worked very well and was quite finicky to turn the oven on. Now, after owning this range for only 5 years, the circuit board has shorted out. Rather than spend a dime on fixing this, I would rather just throw it out and buy a new and more simply made range. DO NOT waste your money on Viking products. They do not stand behind their appliances and it is nearly impossible to find someone that will waste their time fixing them. Go with something that can be easily fixed as I believe all appliances nowadays are designed to fail hours after their warranty has expired.

So when I was remodeling the house over a year ago, the designer who was helping me with the kitchen picked it, and it was installed over the summer because renovation takes a long time. Then I moved in November of this past year. I used it during Thanksgiving and it worked briefly for a second, but then it broke. Every Viking product that Ive purchased is broken - the range hood, the refrigerator, and the range. I have a very busy life, so by the time I get around to calling for anything and figuring out where I need to call and what I need to do, and get everything registered, and realizing what is all wrong, it takes me a while. We were in the midst of buying a new range and I wanted to see which one was rated the best. We found one that had a good rating and thats what we went in to go look at at PC Richard. But then, my wife saw Viking and the store was running a really good sale on it. My wife liked the way the Viking range looked and she said she always wanted one, so we got one. When we bought it, PC Richard gave my wife a free five-year plan and they also claimed that we can return something within 30 days if we werent happy with it. It wasnt in a day or two when we smelled gas leaking. We called PC Richard and they told us we had to call Viking. Nobody would come out unless we call the gas company to come out. So, the gas company had to come out and they had to sniff on the range to determine that it was leaking and it wasn’t the gas pipe. We called Viking back, they sent a serviceman out, it has been a couple of days and were still waiting for Viking to give the parts to the serviceman so he can come in and install it. It’s been going on a little over a week now. With the amount of money we paid and the range giving us a problem on the first day, my wife wanted to send it back. Then, all of a sudden, PC Richard said, “You cant.” They pointed to this little obscure sign in the back of the counter that says, “No returns on appliances.” My wife wasnt happy with that. We didnt see it at that time and it wasnt brought up when we bought the range that you dont have any options. We researched Viking and found online that people were having problems with them. People complained about the service and the length of time to get parts. We brought that up when we ordered the range because we went to PC Richard to cancel the next day before we even accepted and they kept telling to us how great the range was. It was just a sales pitch. If I had to do it all over again, I would not buy Viking.

We went into the store, looking at all the different products. Then we found a company closer to us that carried all the same brands except for one that we were looking at. But that company in Fredericksburg said they’ve had people in this area who requested the same range that we were looking at but the manufacturer doesnt come to service it. So if something happened, we weren’t gonna get service on it and that was one of our things. Then we started looking at Viking and they said that Viking comes out to this area and services the appliances that are messed up. So we got the prices and the features on everything and the representatives told us about everything. That was what made us choose Viking. Besides, Wolf was way too expensive and I couldnt see spending the money to get the same product. The reps were also very helpful. If we had questions or concerns, we called them on the phone and asked them, and they remembered us. So as far as helping us and selling, they were fantastic. One thing I also noticed is that, versus Wolf and Thermador, Viking has all the burner heads in the same size. And I like that. This is something that drives me absolutely nuts – when youre trying to cook somewhere and you have a big burner here, a medium here then a small one here but you gotta cook three large pans. You only really have one burner for it. With Viking, I don’t have to worry about that and that made a huge difference. The range is awesome. The ovens are taking some time to get used to just because they cook faster. But that’s a good thing. We were also kinda regretting that we bought a range this big. But in the first couple of times we’ve used it, we were almost using every single burner and the ovens at the same time. I thought it was a good thing we bought this. In terms of the use, the care and trying to clean it, everything is great as well.

Viking Refrigerators is the best range that’s out there. I purchased from them because I chose products that are going to match my kitchen. However, I haven’t used the refrigerator because I’ve had some considerable problems with it. It’s not been fixed yet. It was shipped from a distributor in New York and apparently it wasn’t configured for altitude despite telling them that I live in Denver. It’s plugged in and running, but I have pools of water in vegetable drawers and there is a ticking noise that’s happening with it. It’s that bad. It’s been this way for six weeks, so I am not overly happy with that, especially not after paying $4,000 for a refrigerator. When I called Viking, they were as expected. They got the refrigerator repair company out. I’ve been working with the repairman and he’s been great. He has to order parts but there’s some feedback or manufacturer recall with the piece and so the repairman is waiting for a new piece now. He hasn’t been able to figure out whatever ticking noise there is, so it sounds like a time bomb in my kitchen. I’ve been talking to a lot of people but nobody has been able to fix my refrigerator. The dishwasher and range have not been installed yet, but the range came damaged. I don’t know if it’s the distributor or the shipping company. The range hasn’t been set up yet, but I can’t seem to find the legs that were supposed to come with it. But Viking has been pretty responsive. A lot of the issue lies with the distributor. I wish I had not given them $16,000 worth of business. They have not been helpful. There were supposed to be rebates, but they wouldn’t process. It was like pulling teeth to get them to give the discount when you buy multiple Viking products. It’s been a disaster with them. I could not recommend the product and the distributor. Why would a refrigerator that has a known defect still be sold in the market?

I heard through a friend that Viking was one of the top tier appliance manufacturers. I looked at pricing versus quality. Vikings was very comparable. I also looked at the name brand and features that were offered. Viking was the way to go. I like that the refrigerator is counter-depth. It really blends in the look with the appearance in my kitchen. It looks like its built in. Its definitely an upgrade to what I had before. You can tell that the refrigerator is high quality. The interactions with the Viking dealer was good, but when they delivered the dishwasher it was damaged. They made good and replaced it with a brand new one though. Id tell friends that Im impressed with Viking and that it definitely is the right way to go.

We built our new house in 2015. Purchased a Viking range, microwave, and dishwasher. Within one month, the dishwasher door pulley broke. Took 3 months to get repaired and the door actually ended up breaking so we had to get a new dishwasher. That took another 2-3 months. Our new dishwasher has now been repaired twice, and is once again malfunctioning. We had the repairman out over a month ago and still no new circuit boards have arrived. I would love a refund and would trash this dishwasher. We have had zero issues with our range and microwave, but very upset with the price point and quality of the dishwasher. BUYER BEWARE.

I wanted a more professional range and for the price, Viking offered the most features in the budget that I was comfortable with as far as PTU, capacity, and self-cleaning. Testing was not offered by similar brands in this price range. The cooktop is great and the baking has been great. It was quick to get it from the company that I bought it from but I wasn’t thrilled with the third party delivery service they had. But it’s all fine. I’m happy with it so far. Viking accommodates different budgets, styles and features so it’s definitely worth looking into.

My husband used to own a countertop business and we were familiar with Viking Ranges and we knew it a little bit better than their competitors. The range is great. The only issue I have is with the Vent Hood. When its on high, it squeals and it sounds horrible. We’ve had people come out and work on it several times and they can’t get it right. They blame it on Viking and so they’re supposed to come back out and do some other stuff to it and they just haven’t followed back up with it. But, I enjoy the flat grill on my range and all the burners that I have. I also like that it heats up fast.

After an extensive and expensive kitchen remodel, our wall oven has failed 3 times. I have been without a working oven more months than it has worked. This time we are going on 7 months and still no repair. The motherboard must be faulty and burns out (this will be our 3rd motherboard replacement). I do not believe replacing the motherboard with the same faulty one is going to change anything and we will be back in the same place soon after the repair. I actually cook and use my appliances and I am so frustrated with the service from Viking and the products! Never, ever buy from this company. I went to a place called Ferguson which is like a home builder showroom and I looked at all the different refrigerators. I liked the interior of Viking the most, and the way it looked and the way that it was organized inside very much. That was the deal that sold it. However, when the refrigerator was delivered, they must have dropped it which caused a series of things to go wrong with it. It was replaced right away and we’ve had the one that we have now for two months. It’s working fantastic. I love the layout and the drawers for the meat, cheese and vegetables. It’s so easy to use and I also like the door where you can put a variety of things. The first time, I talked to the dealer when I registered my product and the second time, since I had an account already, I logged on to that account and registered the second one. We dealt with a third party that was the repair person for Viking and they were very good. They came in from Austin to work on ours. We have the dishwasher too which was a bonus when we bought our refrigerator. I didn’t care for it at all at first because it was very different from an American dishwasher where it dries everything completely because it’s eco-friendly but I understand now how it works. So, Im really enjoying that too and I love it.

Viking Ranges would have made a good return on my investment when I sell my house but so far, the quality is not good. I have about 5 issues that are in the process of being rectified, like not all burner lights work and when the oven and some of the burners are on, all the burners would light continuously and wont stop. I have called and spoken with them numerous times and I have sent emails too, and they were knowledgeable enough to help me with what I needed. Im waiting for the parts but a week has passed and they told me that the parts department is not shipping anything until the middle of the month. The quality control and the packaging could have been better before the units leave the factory line. Also, it seemed that a lot of the damages were the result of transporting the product.

We had gotten a Samsung refrigerator before and it didn't work well. My husband always wanted a higher-end refrigerator. Viking was always the number one on our list. The purchase of our Viking Refrigerator went really well. We bought it at Pacific Sales, which is the higher end sales part of Best Buy. The delivery was good. There was one issue though. The handle wasn't tight enough, so it eventually became very loose. But when we called for service, they came out right away.

We went out and looked at a lot of different specialty shops and we were looking for high-end appliances. We came to really enjoy and like the way the Viking refrigerator looked and we decided to purchase one. The quality seems fantastic. Weve had one little bump in the road where it wasnt defrosting properly in the freezer and they sent a tech out. Not only was the guy very knowledgeable, but more impressive than anything was that he had the broken parts on his truck. 9 out of 10 times when we ever have somebody come out to fix any appliance, its always a miracle, no matter what breaks, they never have it on the truck. So this guy knew exactly what he was doing and he was effective. He was in and out in 45 minutes. But I didnt realize until we got the refrigerator home and the wife and I looked at it that it wasnt quite as deep as we thought it was going to be when we saw it on the showroom, from a standpoint of inside the refrigerator. But maybe they have one of the deeper models. Other than that, its a beautiful piece of almost like furniture, especially the lighting inside of it, which is fantastic. And its easy access for everything, so nothing but praise to the unit so far. I have also many times recommended Viking to a friend.

10 years ago we bought a 42 inch side by side frig. Service and repair began regular visits from day three and it has been a terrible experience. There are too many issues to list here, but if any one cared I would be glad to share the rap sheet. The original dealer was Sewell Appliance in Sandy Springs, GA and the service company was Hadco. One of the frustrating issues was that many of the diagnosis discussions did not make sense. Cause and effect, symptoms and solutions, etc. are not always rocket science. Many ill-fated service calls have been endured. Once again, details available upon request. We have lost contents several times and constantly put up with. High temps, iced up element, overflowing drain pan, on and on - we now have a small back up fridge plus TWO $160 freezers to rely on. I have no confidence in the Viking fridge. Im surprised they are still made. I curse the day we saved $700 by not buying a Subzero. What do I want? I would like to have a qualified Viking rep look at my service records and admit that this is not normal. In the meantime, I would never have a Viking product and am seeking ways to publicize my opinion until Viking would step in for some sort of acknowledgement.

Viking had a floor model refrigerator that was at a good price. However, when I open the drawer where the ice bucket is in the freezer, 90% of the time, it kicks ice cubes underneath the basket of the freezer. I have to get down on my hands and knees and dig to get the ice cubes out. I cant close the freezer drawer until I get the ice cubes out. Also, that time, they were including an above-range convection microwave free with purchasing a range. However, the Viking dealer was a little slow to respond to things. She was very nice and pleasant but it could take her days to get back to me. So far, the range seems to be of good quality and the induction cooktop has been my favorite. But then, theres a defect in the left front corner of the stainless which was noted on the day of installation. Theres also a problem with the mechanism that I use to open the microwave. Its not level. Viking promptly got people out to look at the issues. Theyve ordered the parts but its been well over a month and none of my issues have been fixed. Furthermore, the front piece of the range needs to be replaced and its still on back order. Nevertheless, Vikings products are well made. I looked at some GE Cafe French drawer type refrigerators and the pullout drawers were very teeny. It felt very unsecure when I pulled it out. On the other hand, Vikings appliances seem like good heavy quality products.

Perhaps like many others that purchase Viking appliances, my wife and I were enamored with the design, size and look of the Viking refrigerator. We spent close to $20,000 and purchased a 36 refrigerator with a separate 30 freezer to go beside it. Looking at our kitchen you see nearly five feet of fridge/freezer. It looks amazing. Stupidly, this was the reason we bought the brand. My neighbor has a similar set-up and he told us over and over again not to invest in Viking. He swore it would be a mistake. My attitude was it wont happen to us. Was I wrong.Within one year, back in 2018 (pre-Covid; so no excuses yet about shipping issues/health issues/work shortage issues), the refrigerator stopped working altogether. Everything inside was ruined. The refrigerator was hot. It would not cool anything. I called Viking and it took 3 days to get a repairman to our home. Three days of no food. Then of course the part had to ordered. This took another 2 weeks. The part arrived and within another week it was installed. One month of no working refrigerator. I asked for a loaner... nope. I asked for a replacement... nope. I asked for a food stipend... nope. I asked to reimbursed for the ruined food... nope. After the month delay, it was noted that the refrigerator was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. This took another month for the new refrigerator to arrive. A $12,500 refrigerator that we could not use for two months. Now check this out; within a month or two of the new refrigerator being installed, my 7 year old son opened the fridge to get something. He pulled the door and as he pulled his foot was in the way and the door punctured his foot. He required 7 stitches. Our family wrote it off as the craziest accident ever. But... within another month or so, the door was not closing properly. This was a brand new refrigerator and the door would not close right. The magnet would not catch and the door was essentially always open. Viking sent a repair guy. He could not figure it out. He kept stating that the hinges were unlike anything he had seen. Then it dawned on him, the door was installed upside down. He had to take it off, flip hinges and reinstall. What??? Upside down? How is that possible? I then realized that this is probably the reason why my son punctured his foot. It was too low.Six months after replacing the refrigerator, the freezer stopped working. Everything melted. The compressor (?) was shot and it was replaced. For the continuing hassle, Viking extended our warranty an additional year. We now had 3 years of warranty. Within the three years, we have had to replace the ice-maker at least 5 times. Every 4 months it develops a leak and water drips into the ice bucket. Soon the ice bucket has an inch or so of water at the bottom and the entire ice bucket turns in to a solid block of ice. They send a repair guy and he replaces it. This has happened five times. It is broken again now. Unfortunately we are now out of warranty. I argue that the problem began while we were under warranty. This apparently does not matter. Viking wants to charge me $150 for the part and $150 to install it. Again a $7,500 freezer with an ice-maker that does not work. Dumb.Today, the produce tray in the refrigerator broke. Looks like a plastic piece fell off and the side by side drawers came off. This overpriced appliance is an absolute joke. Like my neighbor did with me, I tell all people that compliment our gorgeous appliances to NEVER buy the Viking brand. I warn everybody that I cannot to make the same mistake we did. Viking sucks.

I like the way Viking operates and I especially like the look of the Viking professional stove. Ive had Viking before so I got them again when I moved into a new home and I went to replace the appliances. The quality has been good. But I moved into a condo in Florida and they don’t allow gas so I got the induction. It’s different for me because it’s an induction and before I’ve always had gas. The rep was helpful the first time I went in and helped me select the product. But when I had some questions and went back, it was like they didn’t have time for us. They did it twice. She was doing something else and she was dealing with some other customers. I got the Viking professional range and I thought I was getting the Viking professional microwave. I didn’t realize until after they had installed it in that it was Viking and not the Viking professional. There was nothing I can do about it but I was disappointed in that because I was trying to get matching appliances. But overall, I’ve been very pleased with Viking.

Purchased top of the line Viking fridge for 10K 3 years ago and about 9 months after purchase the crisper drawers were collapsing down onto the bottom shelf of the refrigerator making about half the fridge unusable. Viking sent out their service company and changed the middle shelf which the crisper drawers hang from and changed the slider brackets. Worked fine for about 3-4 months and then the same thing happened again. Viking came out and changed the parts again with exactly the same type of parts. Worked fine for about 4-5 months and then the drawers started collapsing down again when you would open a drawer. Well this went on for 3 more additional services and I think at about the 3rd or fourth service Viking said the fridge was out of warranty! LOL!I informed them that you cant replace defective parts with the same exact defective parts until the warranty runs out and then say the fridge is out of warranty. So they sent a repair company back out who charged me $149.00 to look at the crisper drawers laying at the bottom of the fridge and said yep theyre broke and left. Then they sent a different service company out and they changed the parts again and again it failed after several months. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and I rigged a plastic spacer and thick brass washer behind the middle shelf to kind of wedge the crisper drawers in place. That has held up but was only suppose to be a temporary fix until Viking came up with a permanent solution. Kim from Middlebery that owns the Viking brand said they are working on it, that was back in February and now its radio silence 3 months later. Kim asked me at that time do I want them to come out and fix the shelf till the engineers come up with a solution. I said no my Rig is working so far and no sense having Viking come out and waste both our time and money installing more defective parts. Well no good deed goes unpunished cause it looks like Im stuck with my fancy refrigerator being rigged up so that its functional. And oh by the way the crisper drawers are now all cracked and the sliders broken from falling down so many times. This is frustrating, embarrassing and not right, to spend ten thousand dollars on whats suppose to be a superior brand and have it fall apart and get no company support! Our KitchenAid fridge lasted 20 years and we could have bought the exact replacement for 2 k less! But we wanted to upgrade but instead got a tremendous downgrade. If you want a built in stick with Sub Zero. Thats why my son in law Vince The Builder only uses Sub Zero in his multi multi million dollar homes he builds. He will soon be doing a video of my fridge for his 200K instagram followers to show his clients why he wont use Viking appliances. I hope this saves the next person from going thru the same ordeal as me.

Unfortunately, I have electric where Im at, so there werent too many things to pick from on that side of things. So we went with the D3 and its been great. The only thing that stinks is my wine fridge went out and Ive been trying to get it fixed. The quality of the range from Viking is awesome. I like the ability to control the heat range. So, I can go up to three rings, and to get a pot of water boiling fast, I put it on all three. I also like that I have a couple of different convection settings. Ive never cooked with convection before and its really awesome that I have the ability to do that. If a person has the money to do it, its definitely worth doing because its a great feature that they have and offers.

I have problems with my dishwashers since day one. They have been serviced 5 times in 2 years. When I called Viking range to let them know and ask them to recall the fridge and replace mine they did nothing about it. I have had problems with my other Viking products. We purchased all Viking appliances for our custom-built home in May of 2012
We purchased all Viking appliances for our custom-built home in May of 2012. From the beginning, after our refrigerator was delivered on May 24th, we have had nothing but issues... There was a broken cover in the freezer section and a broken cover in the refrigerator. Those items have been replaced, but the main issue which has been an issue from the beginning is the water flow coming from the dispenser. It takes 45 seconds to fill a 16 oz. cup with water - way too long. We have called the techs numerous times re this issue and each one who came told us that this was normal! The last tech was the only one who actually disconnected the water line from the water dispenser line on the fridge and checked/timed the water flow. He also checked to see if there were any kinks in the water line and there was not and we have also replaced the water filter after only having the fridge installed about 2/3 months. That did not make a difference in the flow of water. Is anyone out there having the same issue as we are having and what was done to correct this? Also the ice maker makes ice until it falls out over the side. They also replaced the arm thats supposed to stop ice making when it hits at that level. It does not stop till its literally over the top. Help!

I had a Viking range when I lived in Southern California for 20 years and couldnt kill the thing. Initially, I purchased it for status. It looked so great in my house. With a culinary background, I quickly found out that this range was amazing. It performed. I moved and could not take it with me. We finally built our forever home and one of the requirements was that I bring that Viking back. I have a whole Viking kitchen. The window in the range in the oven part of it is not the same as it used to be. This seems like it needs some kind of gasket around it. I sometimes see steam between the glass. I was told thats normal but it wasnt like that on my other range. But all in all, it works really well. I love it. I had a GE in another home and it was like junk. You couldnt clean it. It’d scratch. I took the air filters out and washed them. They fell apart the first time. You dont get that with Viking. It is a lot more money but you get what you pay for. I tell people if youre going to invest in appliances for your house, this is the way to go. Its everything you need and Viking stands behind their product.

Viking Refrigerators could pack a little bit better. When we pulled it out of the box, there were one or two dents on the front of the fridge that happened when it was getting taken down off of the warehouse and shipped. Also, it makes a little bit more noise than a conventional refrigerator but I’m assuming that’s because of the size of it and the inner workings. Whenever we noticed that it was running a little bit louder than we thought it would, we would call them to come out, look at it, and make sure there was nothing wrong with the fans or anything like that. And it was super easy getting somebody out. Overall, the quality of the refrigeration has been pretty decent. It has sturdier build quality, the doors close better, and the drawers inside of it slide better.

Ive used Viking Ranges in the last 2-3 houses that Ive owned over the years. During the first purchase, I was looking for a commercial type range. I investigated what ranges were available so I looked at consumer ratings and decided to purchase Viking. I never had a problem with the first Viking that I owned. However, I had a problem with quality with the latest one Ive purchased. I had a technician come out for 5-6 times and when we still couldnt get it resolved. I called them and they offered to replace it. I wasnt really that happy with the dealer. I dont know if Id still go back there. I was trying to decide between Viking and another oven. Their oven would take a while to get so I went with the Viking, and it didnt come in as quickly as I had anticipated. Nevertheless, I love it. I have the dual range so I have the electric oven, the gas cooktop and two ovens. I love the convenience of having the two ovens. I have lots of room when I cook big meals. The surface of the stove is great because I have lots of burners that I can use. I also have the big overhead stand and the heat lamps. It makes it a lot easier to cook and I like to cook. Its a great oven for cooking and baking.

Weve had a lot of problems with the Viking range. The repairman has been here twice. The hinges on the door have not worked properly. When you close the oven door, it kind of falls loose again a little bit. The lights are on all the time. The guy put in new hinges but the oven wouldnt turn on. It was some computer part. Ive been super disappointed.

Im from Mississippi so its not hard to hear about Viking Ranges here. I wanted to support a homegrown company and I cook a lot and have heard good reviews about it. I also had some friends that had them and enjoyed them. I appreciate the way if I spilled something on the top of the stove or something overflows that has a lid on it, the cleanup on that is not bad. Its pretty easy for me to clean up compared to the last stove combination I had. However, I have not been very pleased. I have a gas top and oven and the gas oven has been very difficult to regulate. It takes forever to heat up, way longer than ever expected for the oven to pre-heat. I have to turn it on a good 30 minutes prior to and sometimes longer. I put my own room thermometer in there because I dont trust the temperature setting. I hate the way the gas comes on and off. Early on, I was having struggles with everything being too dark on the bottom and light on the top. My appliance man said, Youre not waiting long enough to pre-heat. Youre gonna have to wait. Im also frustrated with the oven size. I have a big oven and a little oven side-by-side. The little oven is half an inch to an inch too small. And the big oven, when I try to get something in there like two pans or skillets, they dont fit well either. I cook all the time and I prefer large groups. We have work entertainment that I do all the time. I tried to do two big pork shoulder roasts at the same time. It was in there for hours and difficult to get both of them in there the way the pans were. I wouldve taken an inch out of the big one because its not helping and put the inch in the other one. Theres also the fact that its hard to clean on the inside. Viking makes a big deal about not scratching anything and not using anything harsh on it so Ive been very careful. I have to heat it up just a little bit and then have a wet rag and muscle it to get it off. When I spill something over, grease gets on the aisles of the stove and I havent gotten those off. I cant get those off without having to use something harsher than they recommend. We bought the vent that goes over it and Ive been hugely disappointed in that too. Its really difficult to get the grates out to wash them. I cant talk to anybody if I turn it on since it is obnoxiously loud. I also bought a warming drawer and thats been okay but theres a little spring-like lever that goes on it to make it click into place, and it broke for some reason. The appliance guy said, Well have to order that part. And then he went to order the part and Viking had stopped producing those parts for a while. He worked on getting a part to help with the regulation of the temperature in the oven and called me to come out and put that one in. But I dont think its going to help and I dont see what its going to do. Overall Im dissatisfied and if I could get rid of it, I would. If I hadnt spent so money, I wouldnt be quite as dissatisfied. But when you spend that much money, you expect a lot.

We like the look of the Viking professional series, but there are some reliability issues. We’ve had two service calls in just over a year which made me a little concerned. The first service call happened when the unit didn’t have a fan, so it was overheating, and the thermostat kept cutting off and shutting down the stove oven. Then the second time was when the control panel that drove the gas valve for the main oven and the igniter for the broiler both acted up. We were unable to use the main oven for about three weeks. They had to get some parts, then came back, and fixed the issues.

Then the replacement broke down, when under warranty and had to throw all the foods in trash again. 2 months after the warranty expired it broke down again. The part not functioning was told is not necessary but then we had to pay $350.00 for some kind of repair that didnt make sense regarding the electrical was reversed. Worst product ever!!! DO NOT BUY A VIKING FRIDGE! It is unconscionable for Viking to still be selling fridges at these price. When you add the cost of spoiled foods, repair cost, and waiting and change of schedule for repair person to come and cost of refrigerators itself we are talking close to $20,000.00. Shame on Viking. The customer service not helpful either. It should be reported as crime, since the temperature never reach to what standard should be 35-38.

We thought that the Viking Range was a good one and I had a buddy that loves it too. I like the gas stove/electric oven option, its the best of both worlds. I also love the quality. The fan in the freezer stopped working so everything was at 20 degrees instead of 0 degrees and things started getting soft. Also, one of the hinges of the door broke. We contacted the builder and he told us to call Viking, so we did. And then Viking gave us the local repair shop who came and fixed everything. We bought the freezer and refrigerator from Viking 12 years ago. The freezer is still doing great but the refrigerator went out. It would freeze up, and one of the default wires were loose. We hooked it up and then it had another problem. When I called in with problems, they were good about helping to get somebody to look at it. I had two different Viking certified people come out to work on it and they took it quickly apart, defrost it totally and then put it back together and say my drip pan wasnt lined up properly. Both times someone came it cost me $800 each and the second time I decided to just replace it because itll be cheaper in the long run. When I got the new one, the door seal on it would not seal. We travel a lot and we come back home and see that there would be rust inside our brand-new refrigerator. It took three times to get somebody to figure out the problem and fix it and had it slamming shut. Were loving it now. It’s great. The new lighting is so bright and pretty and I really like it. The fridge isnt pretty when you open it up and you see this $9,000 refrigerator with rust inside it, but its still a good deal.

My sister had a Viking refrigerator and I got myself one but I have had nothing but issues. Something happened right away to the first unit I received. I fought with Viking for over a year and a half about it. They kept having repair people come in to fix stuff but nothing worked. I had to buy a new unit that they supposedly gave me a 50% discount on. Then, when the unit got in, it was dented. It took them four months to reorder and fix the part. Then, the icemaker didn’t work, and I lived without that, on a brand-new fridge for another four months. Where I live, there is only one company that could fix a Viking. They don’t have enough people and that meant that every time they order something, it took weeks to get somebody out here. That company doesnt have the workers involved. Theres not enough support or backup people that can fix these things and nobody thinks about that. When you buy a product, the service department has to come from another state to fix it. Then, if that company wasn’t good, you’re stuck at their mercy. They keep taking their time and they don’t know what they’re doing. So, I’m not happy at all. I would never buy another.

Purchased this 36 gas range in 2006 for over $6k. A week before Christmas, it broke down. Several parts were replaced by a reputable, local repair firm, but the key one is PJ030015, the 6 prong selector switch was not available. Called Viking and was told it has been discontinued since 2016. The customer service person kept telling me that sales had specials going on so I should contact them. Asked her if she would replace a $6k range because a $100 part wasnt available. This is totally unacceptable. The company should have an solution for this other than check eBay and Craigslist. For Petes sake, go to China and get some built. So, buyer beware. A good company would not do this for a product that is not that old nor inexpensive.

Viking had a sale going on. The refrigerator I was looking at was discounted and with the rebate I was getting, that put it in a price range that was comparable to Sub-Zero. Plus, the store was saying that they have had good success with the refrigerator and that people liked it. I decided to take a chance on their technology. So far, food doesnt go bad in it and I love it. The refrigerator has technology that pulls out the gas that makes food go bad. Before, I would wind up throwing so much food out because it goes bad by the time I get around to cooking. Now, I make less stops at the grocery store. Additionally, water that that comes from my Viking tastes really good. Its much better than the GE Monogram that I used to have. However, the ice maker has a little wire bar that comes down when the ice tray fills up. Its supposed to set off but then it goes a little overboard such that I find ice outside the ice tray. Still, this was the only thing that was wrong. This is the second Viking that I have had and I have been very pleased with the service. With the first one I had, there was moisture building up on the inside. Everything was getting wet inside that refrigerator and almost every day I had to wipe it down. I complained and Viking sent servicemen out a couple of times. They couldnt figure out why the door wasnt sealing properly. They told me that they couldnt figure out the issue and that they would just get me a new refrigerator. I didnt have to pressure them so much and they gave me a new unit that works. So far, it works fine and its beautiful. I like the way its saving me money through not wasting food. Ive already recommended Viking to other people. I let people who have stayed at my place see it and I tell them about the refrigerators technology. They have been saying its a beautiful refrigerator.

Viking 36 inch convection range. I prefer gas but we dont have that option, so I went with the electric convection model. I chose Viking because of their reputation. I am not a fan of this range. The 36 inch range has four burners with the smallest burners in the front. The right side burners can be used as a single cooking zone, but the heat isnt consistent. All of the burners adjust the temperature throughout cooking which I suppose is a good feature unless youre trying to boil water. The oven is noisy even without the convection. The oven is self cleaning but it takes 8 hours to go through the cycle! Make sure your installer is familiar with Viking. Ours was not. He was there all day trying to get the range installed, and we had to have a technician back immediately to make adjustments. The range is nothing special for the money. It isnt cheap or cheap looking, but I have had much less expensive ranges that I liked better than this one. I find this range very frustrating to work with. The 36 inch, ceramic top convection model ran about $5000. Its self cleaning, assuming you have the 8 hours needed. The middle rack in the oven glides beautifully which avoids spilling of quiches, souffles, etc. The features I find the least appealing are the ceramic top and the tiny burners in the front. The ceramic is impossible to keep clean and the small burners dont heat the pan evenly. Also, the knobs dont lock into place, so you constantly have to check the settings. The burners self regulate, so the burner will reduce the heat throughout cooking. This becomes very frustrating if you are trying to boil water. Gas is probably more consistent. The oven seems small. The racks do not cook evenly, so you cant use all three simultaneously. I cant tell any difference between convection and non-convection cooking except convection is louder.

When redoing our kitchen we decide to purchase all Viking appliances: dishwasher, 36 inch gas range, commercial grade fridge, freezer, wine fridge, and microwave. From the time of installation there was issues with every single item. After repairing the dishwasher control panel twice for 800 dollars each time no warranty on that part we finally replaced it. Unfortunately I have a gas range and the only thing that works on it is two burners. I have never been able to use the grill and no one was able to repair it. My fridge and freezer is now turned off and no one wants to touch Viking products and to replace them is too much. In the beginning Viking had said they would replace all the products. After numerous calls then they disappeared and I was told my warranty was up and I was on my own. They never fixed it while the warranty was still good, they just waited and dragged things on. Our cabinet maker thought that Viking was a good product and I bought my Viking appliances though him. I went to a mobile Viking showroom event and looked at all the Viking appliances for a new home. And if I did my whole kitchen in Viking, they would double the warranty. Instead of having the three-year warranty, it came with a six-year warranty. It was a great deal especially considering that Ive had to have them come out repeatedly to fix things that’s been wrong with the appliances. Apparently, the quality of Viking has gone down considerably in the last several years and I hadnt realized that. Ive got two refrigerators and the parts are just cheaply made. One of them was delivered totally damaged. The shelving does not stay in place. The drawers don’t function properly and the components bend too easily. The refrigerators are less than two years old and half of the parts in each one of them are bent, have totally fallen out or had to be replaced several times already. It’s very poor quality. When they installed the dishwasher, they didn’t put the bottom plate on the dishwasher correctly. Some of the parts have fallen out of it as well. They’ve also had to come out several times and fix the valves in the dishwasher. But the worst is the range, which has never functioned properly. It’s terrible considering I now have $40,000 worth of useless appliances in my home. The person that I contacted to get warranty service was extremely helpful and walked me through the process of getting everything registered. The problem was that they did not want to honor the double warranty on my appliances. Luckily, I had saved the original invoice and was able to forward it to them so that they could put into my record that it was covered for six years. Ive told everybody that Ive come in contact with to stay away from Viking, which is sad because my husband is a home builder. We could sell tons of Viking appliances. But we buy all of the appliances for the homes that we build from Ferguson here in Raleigh and they have quit carrying the Viking appliances because they have so many problems with them. Plus I will never have another thing that’s Viking in my home. It’s terrible. We’ve had problems with everything Viking.

We purchased a newly built home and had all Viking appliances installed. The range puts out good heat but the oven is definitely malfunctioning. It cycles every minute no matter what temperature you set it to so if I am baking something that takes 2 hours, Ill hear the igniter click and the flame come on over 100 times. I dont know if its because the flame is reigniting so often but the smell of gas is so strong. Also, the door gets so hot you cant even touch it without wearing an oven mitt. All of these make me afraid to use the oven. I called Viking and theyve sent out the same repair person twice who told me that the cycling every minute is normal and the door is supposed to get hot because heat radiates. I understand heat radiates but it shouldnt get so hot you can burn yourself. What happens if children accidentally get close to the oven? I also dont understand why for a supposed high end oven, the temperature cant be maintained for more than a minute when the flame goes out before it reignites again. And since its cycling every minute no matter what temp you set it to and regardless if you leave the oven door closed for 2 hours (yes, we tested it with the door closed for 2 hours to make sure we werent losing heat from opening the door), it doesnt seem like the cycling is temperature related at all. When I call Viking, they tell me this is NOT normal and a repair person needs to come out to make adjustments. Theyve sent the same repair person twice who insists this is normal. I called again today and asked for a different company. The same person has been scheduled to come out tomorrow, wholl likely tell me again that this is what I have to get use to with this oven. This oven is a hazard. Youll either be afraid to use it or youll end up burning yourself or inhaling carbon monoxide fumes. I had to turn the oven off yesterday because I got a terrible headache from the fumes. I am writing this to advise everyone to not buy a Viking. Also, now it is documented that these issues existed in the event something bad happens.

However, the door doesnt look like it closes all the way but they told me that’s ‘cause of the gasket that’s on it. We had built a new home and were interested in top of the line appliances. Wolf and Viking Ranges stood out, but we decided to go with Viking since we got a good price from them and it fits what I was looking for. I got a six-burner range, a grill and two ovens from them. In my kitchen, I have a total of three ovens since we do a lot of the holiday stuff here. It works out beautifully when I’m doing Thanksgiving, Christmas or when I’m trying to cook a big meal. I have enough room for everything. The top is gas and the ovens are electric. I love the fact that I have a griddle there. Everyone can be working on something so it works out well for my family. We’ve had a good experience, up until were trying to get the small oven fixed. We had a problem with it and a chip needed to be replaced. So we had the workman out and were waiting for him to replace it. We had to argue a little to get them to come out to fix what was wrong and that was a bit of a problem. I got upset but my husband managed to calm down and get them to do what they needed to do to repair the oven. But Im still waiting for it to be fixed.
