Bought a LG Dryer instead of a Maytag this time and I am so disappointed in myself in doing so. The dryer filter will not completely seat and it has caught clothing on the corner and now looks like I have a little melted corner now also. It has damaged several articles of clothing. I did vacuum it out just in case to no avail. You have but one job and that is to put out a safe and dependable dryer and have failed to do so. For verification my model number is: DLE3170W. I purchased this set 7 years ago and the washer started stopping mid-cycle and the dryer sensor doesn't work. I called the Maytag service number and after several phone calls (they had my name spelled incorrectly and the wrong address), was able to schedule an authorized servicer. He said the motor and motor controller needed to be replaced and it would cost over $900. When I said I expected my $1,200 washer to last more than 7 years, the service person informed me that the machines were made by Samsung (not Maytag) and just carried the Maytag label. He said the Maytag Neptune washers and dryers were the reason Maytag went into bankruptcy and was bought out by Whirlpool. I am disappointed Whirlpool/Maytag does not stand behind this product and will not buy this brand again.

Bought a dryer from Fisher and Paykel. So far it's blown out 3 doors as the heat destroys the plastic lugs which hold the door assembly together. Rang F and P. A supervisor called Tanya told me to get a serviceman from F and P to come out costing another $120 on top of the cost of 3 door covers which cost $40 each time. Please be warned that this dryer is rubbish and after the new door 3rd one was put on the dryer now makes a grating sound when running. Apparently a circuit board has come loose and rubbing against the drum. What rubbish. Don't buy Fisher and Paykel. Buy LG.

This is the worst experience I have ever had. Six months ago, moving to the new home, everything is fine but the Electrolux washer keeps giving me headache. Same sensor problem happened 3 times. There are 3 different companies that came to fix it. Okay, finally it's fixed, but this is not a very good sign to have such a new machine with recurring problem. I had a very bad feeling about it, but they refused to replace a new functional one to me. No refund! No replacement. Live with it!Recently I found a lot of mold within the gasket and even the hardest clean layer. I tried to wipe it ever since I found it, but it just keeps coming back. I expect a new gasket, but the customer service said it's not covered by the warranty. I need to pay for the part $155 + tax + tech's labor. What? Is this my responsibility? The poor design is trapping the water. They said I need to leave the door open and clean it every time. There is a gap very, very hard to reach in. I can't imagine the front load washer's door needs to be left open to air dry. No wonder there are horrible news about kids got into the washer or dryer. I am buying a $1,400+ washer, but I need to wipe it after each wash? High tech or more work? Reading their FB and saw many people complain about all types of appliance they bought. I wish I'd read it! They really don't care about their reputation and no customer services at all.

I purchased an LG washer in Sept. ‘09. On June 13, 2013, I attempted to wash a medium size load. But when I went to put the wash into the dryer, the washer was flashing OE. I checked the manual and did as instructed. The drain hose was not bent, pinched or clogged. I clean the filter. Finally had to call for service and was told the motor assembly A/C pump needed replacing. This machine in not 4 years old. Guess that's why the warranty was for only 1 year on all the smaller parts. What kind of company makes such items and can only guarantee the said item for "1 year"??? Thank goodness for "Worry Free".

I purchased a FP washer & dryer in 2008 with good recommendations. What a disappointment! Noisy, noisy, noisy. I'm embarrassed when we have company and they ask, "What's that noise?" I am embarrassed to say its brand name. This is supposed to be a good washer and dryer. The washer is off balance with every load of sheets I wash and plenty of other loads.What an inconvenience to constantly try to re-balance the loads. Also, the design of the dispensers is awful. I have to take them apart and clean them because disgusting black stuff is lurking under the covers. The dryer takes so long to dry. The lint bucket is emptied after each load but about monthly, my husband has to take the lint filter assembly apart to clean the internal parts or the sensor gets covered and the dryer works even longer.I've been using automatic washers and dryers for 42 years and have never been more dissatisfied. I will never recommend FP to anyone, in fact, my recommendation for an FP product would be to stay away!

Purchase the washer and dryer about 3.5 years ago. The washer is leaking from the bottom, the tub and clothes stink, and the side of the dispenser is all corroded. All issues that everyone is having. This washer is a piece of junk. I am not even going to bother repairing it.

I purchased the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set one year ago, and have asked myself why ever since. The oversized laundry tub is what attracted me to the model, but it sure doesn't deliver for the money it cost. On normal settings, it doesn't use enough water for all the clothes to even get wet. After the load was complete, there were areas of my clothes bone dry, and obviously still dirty. I soon learned that the only way the washer uses enough water to get all the clothes wet and clean, was to set the machine on the "bulky" setting. This is the only setting I use now, but all of my clothes winds up twisted together, sometimes in one big ball. As for efficiency, that statement folks is a joke! Because I use the bulky setting, it uses much more water than a traditional washer ever did, and when the load is off balanced, it will go through another rinse cycle to try to even it out. This machine uses far more water and electricity than my old school set! I suppose if you don't get your clothes dirty, you may not need to use the bulky setting, but that's the only way I can wash my laundry with this machine. The old style set I had before this was Maytag also, and lasted about 20 years. I was more than happy to purchase Maytag again, but this set has been nothing but a disappointment. I don't plan to buy another energy efficient machine again, nor would I recommend this product to anyone!

You can feel comfortable setting the temperature, spin cycle, etc. according to the booklet that comes with it and you have TONS of sensors that determine if anything unusual is being laundered. If so, the units automatically reset to take care of things. Both the washer & dryer open on top. These are manufactured in Sweden. While a little pricey, they last without any service calls for a very long time and are extremely reliable. The dryer filter is super easy to remove and clean, so it’s no trouble to clean after each load.

Bought this LG electric dryer model DLEX5101W from Best Buy in Sept. 2010. Still have my receipt which I paid 822.36 with tax. Called an appliance repair service that works on LG appliances on 12-10-15 because Dryers drum has a thumping sound and dryer shuts off after about 30 min of drying with a burning smell. And will not restart until the next day. Thought it was all due to the thumping. And the lint vent needing cleaned. Found out the drum had a crack in it because of a faulty weld. And the burning smell is coming from the electrical board in the controls. I was told it was out of warranty so I have to buy a new dryer. I will never ever buy an LG brand again.
