I was assisting my sister who had an Electrolux refrigerator that was leaking water at the bottom, in the front. After following the common troubleshooting for this kind of problem, I found that the drain trough was clogged with ice, preventing water from going through the drain tube into the drain pan. To get to the drain trough, I had to take most of the freezer apart-removing the ice maker, removing the housing containing the auger motor and dispenser solenoid, and removing two long metal covers held together by several screws.Whoever designed this flunked out of engineering school. Just to get to the light bulb, you have to remove the ice maker and the housing with the auger motor. What happened to just placing the light bulb socket on the ceiling, as is done with other refrigerator models? Im fairly handy with mechanical work, Ive built my own computers. This model is set up to make the average user have to call a service tech for the simplest repairs. Stay away from Electrolux, the design is just terrible.

After four months the refrigerator broke. They made me wait two weeks before even offering a loan fridge. I had to call them and spend hours on the phone to come up with any solution (other than not having a fridge). They asked me to go without a fridge for four months because the part they needed was on back order. Bad products + bad service = really really bad company.

36 Electrolux Icon Professional Series Counter Depth French Door - For a refrigerator that costs 3700.00 you would think it would last WELL. You would be WRONG. Not a good investment. I do not recommend this product at all. We have had the rubber seals go bad. Pieces of some plastic just brake off and now the repairman tells us that the ice maker just ate itself. We have no power to it at all, good thing we were home. The service guy said he has seen where they have caught fire. Again glad we were home. Customer service is NO HELP AT ALL. If it was broke we did it and not covered. We have our old fridge downstairs. It is 10 years old and was 800.00 and would put the Electrolux to SHAME. So please stay away from this product. You will be glad you did.

I’ve had this fridge for about two years now and I still love it. I had my cabinets professionally repainted and new countertops put in so the spot for the fridge was built in and therefore couldn’t fit a subzero without changing out the cabinetry. This fridge gave me a similar look for a fraction of the price and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Almost from the beginning this refrigerator has had problems. The ice maker continues to be non functioning as well as the interior lights. Customer Service is good at one thing saying Im sorry. I have put more money into this appliance than any other I have purchased over the past 30+ years. I purchased a new switch hoping that would resolve the lights not working, however it looks as though the board is defective. In order to fix the ice maker and the circuit board, we are looking at approximately 1500.00.At this point, I am better off to purchase another refrigerator, obviously not this brand. You spend more money on quality products and this has been one time where this wasnt the case. If you look at all the reviews, Electrolux obviously needs to go back to the drawing board because consumers arent happy and the issues seem to be the same i.e. ice maker. This refrigerator is only about 6 years old and when you spend 3500 you expect it be in good working condition for many years to come.

We purchased our refrigerator 4.5 years ago for $925. Though everything still looks and sounds ok, it has stopped cooling and the compressor at the bottom rear gets really hot. There is apparently a 5 year warranty on the sealed unit. After several phone calls, these are the hoops we would be expected to jump through: Not just any licensed refrigeration technician will do (since we already had one look at it). We would need an authorized servicer to come and verify if it is the sealed unit that has failed. The authorized servicer would charge us and it would not be covered by Electrolux (they say they cover materials only, not labor). That said, if the authorized servicer determined that the sealed unit had failed, the compressor and the evaporator are both obsolete items not available from Electrolux, so they dont actually cover the materials. Instead, Electrolux would offer us a 10% rebate toward a new refrigerator (presumably once we purchased it from them?) So the warranty is useless and we wont be doing any of this.

I purchased a Frigidaire Fridge through Sears in August of 2015. I chose Sears because we have one locally and I heard they had excellent customer service. Within a few months of purchasing the fridge the door handles were loose and the water/ice system was not working. I called Sears but was directed to Transglobal. A technician was called and the problem was fixed. A few months later... another issue. At this point I asked if I could have fridge replaced as I felt it was a lemon. Transglobal said I needed 3 documented repairs within my warranty period. Lo and behold last week (20 months into owning the fridge) the compressor stopped working. My family is stranded with no fridge. I had to pay for a service call directed by Transglobal for the technician to tell me the compressor part alone costs 700$ plus 2 hours of labour. Transglobal contacted Electrolux to see if they would replace the cost of the part at the very least and possibly the whole unit as it has been a lemon. Electrolux denied me any support with repair or replacement. I called into Electrolux and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told that I had to call back at 5:30 pm. Basically, he told me I could call back and send an email but he couldnt do anything for me. I said goodbye, and called back. This time I got a new person who was surprisingly helpful. He asked my name and said that Transglobal had not sent in the service reports for my fridge. He then requested the service reports and said he would get back to me. I am still waiting and Im hopeful this can be resolved. There are so many issues here... Firstly, the product, secondly the sideways way of getting support, thirdly the various skill levels in customer support. I have spoken to 8 people at both Electrolux and Transglobal and 3 have been helpful. Thats less than 40% success in dealing with customers.

We bought a Frigidaire refrigerator back in June, 2018. In August 1st, the refrigerator started to act up and stop making any ice or throwing any water. Since it is still under the first year warranty covered by the company, I called Electrolux to have this issue fixed. They have sent five repairs technician from two different service companies to fix this issue and have not fix this yet. Every time a new technician comes to diagnose it, they have to order a part. They have replaced so many parts and still not fixed yet. After three months waiting for technicians and parts to come, I request Electrolux to replace the unit and they rejected the request. They told me that they cant replace it until a technician tells them its non-fixable (the technician will never tell them its non-fixable because hes making money every time he comes to diagnose/repair it). In the meantime, we cant use our product after we paid so much. Electrolux does not stand up for their products, they will have you on and on until you give up and suck it up or until the warranty expires so the problem can be on you.

Purchased a Electrolux Refrigerator Model #EW288S715A. Ice maker stopped working about 6 months after install. Electrolux tried and send us a new refrigerator. Within a few months the ice maker went again. Electrolux said they would sell us another new one for 40% off the retail price. Its a good thing we didnt do that deal - I have since learned that the refrigerator that they would have sold us would have had the same problem. So no ice-maker in a $4000 CDN appliance and after a few years an error message appeared on the panel.Found out that the problem with the ice maker has now caused more serious problems with the guts of the refrigerator from water damage caused by poor insulation that will cost us almost $900 CDN and will probably fail again in the near future. Electrolux know this is a problem but are not reaching out to their customers to tell them what to do - basically the company has stuck their heads in the sand hoping that purchasers of this product dont get together and go after them. I am working on starting a class action suit. Electrolux is one of the largest appliance manufacturers in the world and are abusing their clients with incredibly bad designed products. Stay away from Electrolux. I was told that Bosch makes a fairly good refrigerator.

Originally the ice maker was a major problem. Now after having received the third unit the water dispensing mechanism is not working. You would think that after paying good money for a French door refrigerator, that it would last for at least 5-10 years problem-free. I will not buy from this company again.

We purchased an Electrolux French door refrigerator five years ago. It is now dead, as a problem with the ice maker caused the back of the refrigerator to completely rust out. I researched the issue and saw that this has happened dozens or hundreds of times with Electrolux refrigerators. I tried to get some satisfaction from the CEO, Alan Shaw, but he would not take my call, hiding behind a woman named Rita. They did offer me a 25% rebate on a new Electrolux product, but I would think since it is a known problem, and the unit only lasted 5 years, I would get a rebate of 65-75%. I was shocked when Rita told me that Electrolux refrigerators only last for 5-7 years. I don’t think I have ever had a refrigerator last less than 20 years. I have a new slogan for Electrolux - “buy an Electrolux - they only last 1/2 as long as the competition. Obviously, I will never buy another Electrolux product and I would encourage you to avoid them at all costs. They have no interest in customer satisfaction.

We purchased numerous fridges of this type from Electrolux back in 2014. We are a builder, so we kept all the fridges completely sealed and in secured storage. We have had issues with every single fridge from Electrolux so far to date. The most recent was the brand new fridge we moved into a brand new home. We plugged the fridge in, and immediately there was an obvious smell of smoke. Concerned, we unplugged the fridge. Our electrician had a look at the plug and it was working fine. We called Electrolux, and they told us the issue is probably the plug. We would need to get a report from a certified electrician to prove that there are no issues with any of the plugs or circuits in the home.We had a third party certified electrician come out, take a look and provide a report. We called Electrolux back, and they said an electrician report wouldnt count. They also somehow did not have the last call on file. They said we would instead need to get a certified Frigidaire technician to come out and look at the fridge. They gave us two possible companies in our area we could use.We hired one of the two provided companies to come and take a look at the fridge. They did, and said that it was clear the main computer blew up as soon as the fridge was plugged in. It also appeared one of the secondary computers was fried. They made a report, and attempted to send it to Electrolux internally. Electrolux refused to accept it.We called Electrolux yet again, saying we have a report from a certified Frigidaire technician, and could we please have an email to forward the report to. Electrolux said that never happens and only certified technicians can send reports. I told Electrolux that they themselves had already refused to receive the report internally. The call person refused to provide any email and told me to call the certified technician and tell them to send again. We updated the certified technician, who said they would try again. They were again refused, and had to try and send the report through Electroluxs Contact Us form on their website. We then had to wait nearly 2 weeks before Electrolux called back, just to say nothing is covered and it isnt their problem. To replace the computers is very expensive, and with the other issues we have had with the other fridges, we had to just buy an entirely new fridge (not from Electrolux). Normally I give the benefit of the doubt over and over, but this is by far the worst service and quality I have seen - especially considering the level of luxury Electrolux is supposed to have. We will not be using Electrolux again and we will be recommending against it to any clients in the future. Thank you.

I have a 6 month old $800+ upright Frigidaire freezer made by Electrolux, after less than 3 months it quit working, lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. Its now been in non working condition 3 months even after 5 service calls. This freezer has been sitting in my home in NON-WORKING condition for 3 months now. Electrolux agreed to replace it in August... The first date they scheduled this delivery on Sept. 8th, they never showed up or called. They again rescheduled for today, September 21st and now Im being told they cant deliver it today. Ive lost countless hours with customer service, hundreds of dollars worth of food, two days loss of work waiting for delivery of the replacement that didnt show up. Purchased a Frigidaire Gallery side by side in December and had it delivered to a new house. We purchased January 23rd and the fridge was delivered the next day. On February 4th I came home from work and found my kitchen and dining room flooded and the hardwood floors in the dining room are warped and water-stained. The reason for the water damage was that the water in the door of the fridge came on by itself and ran for hours. A couple of days later, I got a call from Wendy of Electrolux in the claims department, letting me know that I should claim with my home owners insurance because if I file one with Electrolux, I will have to get to estimates and they will only pay a prorated amount on my wood floor because the house was built in 2005. TWO WEEK OLD, SIDE BY SIDE FLOORS HOME AND I SPENT 3 HOURS CLEANING UP THE WATER, AND NOW I HAVE TO PAY FOR DAMAGE CAUSED BY ELECTROLUX.

Bought an Electrolux fridge with French doors at State Street Discount in Portsmouth, NH after a lot of research. Thing knocks, sticks, I fought with it with a steak knife, and have changed the expensive water filter per instruction several times. In a year and a half we have had every single part replaced in our fridge and actually have had the entire fridge replaced. The fridge freezes your food - period. They customer service have stated that the fridge is operating as it was designed. You must strategically place your food in the fridge. It cannot be near the back part of the fridge - that is by design. That was not in the brochure. That being said you loose about 3 of space in your fridge, otherwise your food freezes. And yes if you place a glass of water near the back - it freezes. I have plenty of pictures to show. Poor design, poor customer experience. This appliance is a piece of junk and the service has much to be desired. Bought it with other kitchen appliances while redoing the kitchen. Have only used it two months and here are my complaints: doors were dented when unit arrived, new doors were put on with seals put on backward, water filter leaks water on the floor, unit makes more noise than expected. Freezers doesnt seal. Even after service people allegedly fixed it I thought it still didnt seal. Turns out I was right. The freezer door rails need replaced according to third service company!! The electronic computer board has malfunctioned and is reading error codes. The refrigerator will not maintain cold. The evaporator fan needs replaced - not working. Some type of Unit blew out when there was some type of power outage. Now, keep in mind this is two months of use!!!!!! I am filing a lemon law complaint and complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The response of Dormont Appliance and Electrolux has been much less than stellar. DO NOT PATRONIZE EITHER OF THESE COMPANIES (for your own good!).

I purchased an Electrolux Wave Touch Standard Depth model EW28BS85KS5 a little over two years ago. After less than a year, the Temp Perfect Drawer seized up and could not be opened. I worked with Electrolux rep to get the repair and all was covered under warranty. Either while I was waiting for repair or shortly after the repair was completed, I was contacted by and ESA representative and offered, for a price of course, an extended warranty. The representative was fully aware of the issues I had with the drawer. Since my confidence level in product quality was now low and believing the extended warranty was as comprehensive as the one year warranty, I purchased the extension. It has been a little more than a year and the drawer has the exact same issue. I contacted ESA to advise them of the recurrence. They advised me that the warranty does not cover the drawer. Only functioning parts of the refrigerator that maintain the cool temperature, the ice maker and the water dispenser. I have tried working with them, but to no success. I do not appreciate a product attribute that is designed to last only a year. I hesitate to spend the money to have it repaired again because I fear next year I will have to have it repaired again. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I called. They said that is what I get! If you can believe it 2 more defective refrigerators and a quote a few service calls from Apollo appliance Brockton Ma. They are very good! The one I have now the ice maker is still broken. I was told the motor is too close to the ice maker, melts it in the back and it breaks. This is unacceptable for an expensive refrigerator. Not sure what I should do if this one fails! Thanks you Jan

Electrolux refrigerator EW23BC711S SN 4A04802394 never worked properly. We have a service contract **. The freezer never closed tightly and we have experienced frosting from time to time. The ice maker has never worked. It does not maintain the right temperature to keep the ice from melting. Ice turns into solid block and is not usable. All the parts that could be replaced have been replaced as per comments from technician. There is a design flaws and the technicians have repeated that they have many issues with these refrigerators. Under the service contract, a replacement is called for after 3 similar calls. We have asked for a replacement and all Electrolux does is to send more technicians trying to wear us down. Well have no choice but go to court to get satisfaction.

The product is the french door refrigerator. The ice maker does not work after doing the quick fix reported on the net. I shut down the ice maker and turn it back on for a good year. There are so many reports on this. In addition to it not working, the ice maker leaks and makes a puddle by the water dispenser. Everyone complains about the ice maker. This being the case, it is probably a bad engineering design. You would think the company would be ethical and back the product and do a recall and fix the problem but no recalls! There should be. I would like to see a class action suit against Electrolux to force them to do a recall and pay to fix the problem. I would love to talk to anyone willing to do this.

This product has proved to be unreliable and I should have heeded the warnings in the reviews. Despite their beauty, I would not advise purchasing this brand.

We purchased a Frigidaire side by side less than 2 years ago. Yes, I understand it is out of warranty, but when it caught on fire this weekend at 10 at night, I called a repairman to come look at it. Our model is FFHS2611LB4. We were informed that the water line was not sealed correctly at the factory. Also, the access hole is directly over the relay overload. I spent over $200 for the repair which is not much considering what could have happened if we were not home. Just got off the phone with customer service and of course they will not do anything. Was offering to give us 1/2 off on parts. That doesnt really help when it has already been fixed. I will not buy this brand again. Faulty merchandise and poor customer relations.

This has been the worst product ever to purchase. I bought a Frigidaire Gallery Series refrigerator back in May of 2016 and had problems ever since. It was the refrigerator on top with two doors and a freezer at the bottom. Had I known that these appliances were only going to last 5 to 7 years tops, I would not have purchased such a flawed product. That is the life expectancy of these products and people dont usually know that. I have had 7 repair people come and take a look at it and they say it cant be fixed and not working at all. It wont get cold or make ice and it has been down for 6 weeks. So dont purchase this product.

I am your customer and I have an Electrolux double door refrigerator. I had a service issue with you around 12 days back. I placed the complaint on your customer care number and your executive came to the house and visited the refrigerator. After that, he said there is gas related issue which can be solved easily, you just bear RS1100 for resolving out and I have paid RS500 cash in advance. He has given me a receipt also, but nothing can be done yet. The executive name was Umer from Kaisher Electronics, Laxmi Nagar. After that, I had raised once again the same issue to customer care but they did not respond to me properly so I request you to please look into this and resolve this matter at the earliest time. If the problem is not resolved within 48 hours, I will escalate the same and going forward to some legal step.

New 10/2014 Have had issues with ice maker since new. Many calls to Electrolux at which I had to take numerous hours off work. Several different companies have been sent to correct problem at which it has NOT been fixed. Problem still continues and now is making noise on and off. Went before Electrolux board for replacement and was denied due to the fact the service people they use did not call from the house so to them there was not enough evidence. Duuuggghhh! Now, you know they have records of my calls and the people they sent out!! I was told by one Electrolux person that I need to have repairman call them from my house. Is that my responsibility? NO. One repair guy said, Nah no need for me to do that! I do not think it is my place to tell them anything! One repair guy told me that it was as good as it would ever be. It has always put out crushed ice from the cubed slot. To me cubed is cubed and crushed is crushed. NEVER had this issue with my other fridge. I have done tons of research and they have major issues with their ice makers, period! Monday I took off work again to have the repair guy show up and the order that had been called in (by a manager) said I was out of warranty and to charge me. Sooo, he had to leave and now we are waiting again... another day off work for yet another company to come next week! Oh yeah, and by the way they did not get anyone out after the Monday incident, I had to again take my time to call them. This is completely ridiculous and uncalled for! I really want my money back because this is fridge 5, all ice makers with way too many issues, unfixable! All within the first year! I could go on and on but this is just the tip off the iceberg. Today they told me I had to call the service guy to set my time but they had already give them a dispatch number. Called and guess what no #. Sooo again I had to call again! I think I need to be on their payroll!

I bought this refrigerator model E127BS16J56 serial # 4A23619843 in 2013 in great anticipation of have a beautiful stainless steel refrigerator in my kitchen. Stainless steel is a bit more expensive but as a consumer you spend the extra money for its beauty that it adds to your kitchen. Ive noticed that around the stainless steel the grey plastic trims have begun to split and crack for no reason. The refrigerator is in our kitchen and does not get a lot of wear and tear, its just my husband and myself. I called Electrolux and spoke to customer service, told them the refrigerator was practically new and the cracking and chipping of the plastic trim took away from the beauty of my stainless steel refrigerator and asked them how to fix it. I was told the only way to repair the plastic trims on the freezer drawer or the French door refrigerator was to replace the door panels. They would send them to me at a 10 % discount. What!So Im supposed to order new doors at my expense of 500 per door and get a 10% discount if I purchase the doors from them and they wont charge me shipping. This was not acceptable so I called back and asked to speak to a customer service manager. I told her my story and she read through my previous complaint and offered me a 30% discount. This was at least an attempt to assist me but honestly, my refrigerator is 3 years old and all the plastic trims deteriorating and breaking off (obviously a product defect) and to solve the problem Im supposed to purchase all new doors and invest almost 1000 dollars and then pay a mechanic to put them on! Really! I want to fight this Id rather spend 1000 dollars on a lawyer and live with the chipped broken plastic doors. Im disappointed I really thought they would stand behind their product and help me, but the resolution they offered is unsatisfactory! Im going to continue to call and complain, hope springs eternal.

I purchased an Electrolux Refrigerator Model EW288571150 in August 2010. Since my purchase, I have had 16 service calls. Out of the 16 service calls, I believe 5 parts have been replaced. I did speak to someone at Electrolux on 08-08-2012 and she did explain that my problem was with the bottom rack of my ice maker. At this point, Im now waiting on that part to be replaced and I do hope that this is the answer. The appliance is beautiful, but do constantly have to experience my refrigerator going out and losing food because of the refrigerator defrosting.

I have had an ongoing issue with the ice maker nearly since I purchased the product 4 years ago. I have paid for numerous Electrolux referred service companies to come out and try to resolve the issues. They have replaced the ice making unit. They have placed massive amounts of silicon around the unit. The lines keep freezing and now, the back of the refrigerator creates blocks of ice causing massive amounts of rust. From past posts, it appears I am not alone in this situation. Electrolux has completely blown me off telling me to call their service providers. The service providers quoted me $175 service call and additional for parts and labor. Electrolux is not taking responsibility for selling me a lemon of a refrigerator. This is past the point of any repair. I have proof of this refrigerator is a lemon since the beginning but after spending thousands on the refrigerator and in repairs. This should be deemed a lemon.

I have had this Electrolux EI23BC35K Counter Depth Refrigerator for about two weeks now, so I am ready to give it a review. Some things that I really like about it are: Looks great, doors and drawers all open and close smoothly. The LED lights come on and transition from off to full brightness in a couple of seconds. Rounded pyramid ice cubes from the door dispenser, and near half moon shaped cubes in the freezer, plenty of ice. So far, the ice makers are working perfectly. Temperature readings on the front display appear accurate. What I don't like about this refrigerator: The compressor and fans run constantly. I have only heard it shut off once, for about 15 minutes. Even after not being opened all night long, it is still running non-stop in the morning. It does have, as other reviewers have noted, a slight, high pitched whine coming from the compressor. It's not too loud, but noticeable. Since it never cycles off, it can be a bit annoying if you have good hearing and your kitchen is open to the living area. The water filling the ice makers makes a loud whoosh noise, much louder than my previous fridge. The refrigerator arrived in decent time, considering it had to be shipped from the east coast to the west coast. Upon arrival, the packaging appeared good, and once the cardboard was removed, it all looked good so I accepted delivery. After I completed the tedious task of removing the protective film from the stainless steel front, I found a small dent in the exact middle of the freezer door. It wasn't visible with the film on, and the film took a long time to remove as it was like peeling duct tape off. The blue film on the handles come off easily, but the somewhat clear film on the doors was a royal pain to remove, taking about 40 minutes to finish. I did not make the delivery people wait while I did this, so could not mark it as damaged in shipping, so I get to live with it. That being said, I am overall fairly happy with my purchase, but would really have to think twice about buying a major appliance this way again. I saved a couple hundred over buying locally, but lost out on having the slight damage repaired. The savings I made were used to buy a SquareTrade extended warranty and new water supply line. If I have any issues in the future, I will update my review.

Electrolux Refrigerator Model EI26SS55GB0 - I purchased this refrigerator i
Electrolux Refrigerator Model EI26SS55GB0 - I purchased this refrigerator in September 2009. The refrigerator showed problems after I purchased the unit. The main first problem observed was the freezer and refrigerator temperatures were wondering. The digital display also had elements that burned out. The unit was out of the manufacturers warranty when this occurred. I had Sears come over to diagnose the unit and they said it was the interface board. This was in 2012 so based on other posts about their refrigerators I guess comparatively speaking I was doing pretty good. Anyway one month after the new interface board was installed the system started to wander in temperature again and would not stabilize. The Sears technician again came over and replaced the same board at additional expense. The display elements are still not working properly. The segments look like they are getting ready to burn out. We turn off the display to save this part. Now about a month ago the ice dispenser quit working. The issue appears to be the main board which is very expensive to replace. I called Electrolux and they offered me 10% off of the part; Really!!! The board is over $300. I have a friend who owns an appliance store. He told me that he has dropped the Electrolux line. I asked him why. He said when he sold their products he had a ton of circuit board problems. In fact he has a customer that has a similar problem that I had; the temperature wondering. He told me that his customer had a technician out 3-times to change out the board(s). Finally the third time appears to have fixed it however the previous times it went down - the food rotted in the unit and now has a smell that she cant get rid of. My friend is going to swap out the unit with another brand b/c he feels so bad.Anyway bottom line - refrigerators should last much longer than this. I was told Electrolux was a top notch product; NOT!!! Please stay far, far away from this brand. Youll do yourself a favor and avoid MUCH grief!!!

For the first year, refrigerator worked well. Then ice maker began filling to capacity every twelve hours. It had to be emptied every night before bed or it banged all night. Called Electrolux and told out of warranty. They offered to send qualified repairman for four hundred dollar fee (parts not included). Have a whole house warranty and they sent a repairman who replaced a circuit. Ice maker worked for two days, then started making malformed ice cubes. Another repairman sent who replaced entire ice maker. It worked perfectly for six months. Then ice maker stopped making ice. Told by Electrolux to replace both air and water filters which I did wasting about a hundred dollars. After two weeks, it miraculously started making ice. Then after one month IT STOPPED. I changed the filters again because the control panel said they needed to be changed. Wasted another hundred dollars. Followed every suggestion in manual and finally got seven ice cubes (half melted and in a block). Emptied them out, replaced ice drawer and a few hours later got one malformed cube and water leaking all over the inside of the refrigerator and the floor. Cleaned up the mess and stood in front of the dispenser door to keep an eye on the devil. It cycles after taking water for a drink or when it goes through the regular cycle and then leaks a half cup of water from dispenser tube which I have now equipped with a plastic Chinese soup container. Once again, I must be sure to empty it before I go to bed. I hate that refrigerator and the company that spawned it. Like others, I waited until I was older, retired and handicapped to fulfill my dream of the perfect kitchen appliance. THANK GOD, I DIDNT BUY THE STOVE!

Units are made in Mexico and are poorly tested, made and stood behind by Frigidaire who warranties this 23 sq ft stainless unit for 1 year. You can get an extended 3 year warranty called a Platinum star warranty as an option. Little faith it might last one year as we see it. Numerous complaints are on the web primarily centering around the a ice maker. We are on # 3 ice maker in 6 years since purchase. Customer service in Ga. was a TOTAL waste of time and we were advised no recalls or bulletins had been issued on any model. Wished you could have heard their lack of concern. We guess after waiting over 30 min. for an agent, most people would have bailed on the call and we called first thing in the morning. Keeps the complaints down if you cant wait an hour to get help. In addition to the ice maker, we now have a ce code alert on the front led panel and no lights in the unit. After shelling out 3 service calls for this fine work of refrigeration- this will be our last, The repair is scheduled in 12 hours and it will be sold.We called our place of purchase Goedekers in St. Louis and discussed our displeasure to the owner whose sales people pitched this as a great deal for $3500 in 2000. The sales people placed it in the category of Sub Zero, Wolf, and Viking. Goedekers were asked today to have the local or regional rep. contact us but they doubted we would hear from them so now we are warning all consumers. We are on city water and when the unit was installed-GOEDEKERS ran the water line. To replace it if that contributes to our issues- the current repair people now say I need an additional plumber charge to re-install it. More charges to remedy a piece of crap that had little testing on it before it was placed in the market place. Craigs list will be seeing this soon- we pity the buyer but will just say we are going with another brand and this runs fine now. It is true Electrolux sucks - in vacuums and now refrigerators. We purchased a refrigerator/freezer with an automatic ice maker in the door on 12/9/2013. On October 6, 2014 we needed to have the water dispenser serviced as it ran by itself every minute all evening and damaged a big area as it ran into the basement, ruining ceiling tiles. A service person replaced the dispenser module which was under warranty. This morning when we got up we found that it had again been doing the same thing and again ran into the basement damaging more ceiling tiles. Now the real problem is that Electrolux cannot find a technician that will service our area and are waiting for a call back. We found a company that would service Electrolux products but they are checking to see if they are an authorized dealer. How long do we wait for service or for a call back? We bought a new Electrolux refrigerator in July of 2014 and were told by our sales person that Electrolux was a higher grade brand. We believed him and opted to spend a little more to get what we thought would be a bit better quality. Were we wrong! One year and one week to the day, our wiring harness burned out, causing my entire house to smell of burn plastic. All of my food took on the taste and smell of burnt plastic and my refrigerator stopped cooling. When I called Electrolux, they basically told me we were out of luck since we were out of warranty, but they could offer me an extended warranty for $575 (what a deal). We have spent the last 2 days fighting with them over this piece of crap refrigerator that lasted us an entire year and we can either buy the extended warranty or be forced to buy an entirely new refrigerator. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy an Electrolux appliance as long as I live. I will go out of my way to tell people what a substandard product they manufacture and how they provide no concern for customer service or satisfaction. As a consumer I have to wonder why companies push extended warranties when they claim that their products are superior in quality. Shouldnt a refrigerator last longer than 1 year?

They called me back in 3 days and stated I would be getting a call from a service tech within the next couple of days to schedule an appt. Never received a call. I called Electrolux to advise and they stated they again would contact the service tech. I received a call from the service tech stating they do not service Electrolux contracts, and they have no idea why Electrolux would contact them as they only service Frigidaire contracts. I called Electrolux and advised of my conversation with the service tech. An Electrolux mgr. stated he would elevate my service request and I should hear from someone in 2-3 days. I asked, then how many days before I would be able to get service. He basically gave me the impression I should be glad that he elevated my request. I gave it some thought, looked in my yellow pages and noted tons of refrigerator repairmen. Called Electrolux back and asked if I should find someone to service my refrigerator would they reimburse? They said I would need to pay the service tech, submit the bill to Electrolux and they would determine if they would reimburse, because the repairmen in the area were not designated Frigidaire repairmen. So, here I sit, just thinking what an absolute nightmare and waste of time and money dealing with what appears to be a worthless Electrolux warranty.

They’ve failed to promptly repair it and their customer service people have hung up on us, lied, kept us on hold for numerous hours - all while insisting they are doing a great job. Don’t believe them. Nothing fixed and no end date in sight.

I purchased a side by side fridge at the end of 2009. Something leaked out of it, and ruined my slate floor in the fall of 2010. The repairman could not figure it out. On the third visit from another repairman for the fridge, after the control panel went up a second time, the leak was determined to come from the plug at the bottom of the door. Electrolux sent me paperwork to file a claim with their liabilities department, which I did at the beginning of October. To date, I have not heard back from them, and they will not return any calls, or emails. After spending thousands of dollars on appliances, you would think the customer service would be good. I cannot even begin to understand the total lack of customer service. I have done everything the liabilities department asked, and I would like a reimbursement for the damages to have them repaired.

Please do not purchase Electrolux appliances. I unfortunately did not do my research before and deeply regret it as I am now in the hole about as much as I paid for it originally in repairs and it still does not work. I have spent numerous calls and hours with customer service and to no avail. They simply dont care if you ever purchase from them again and I definitely will not. The interface board on ours was faulty from the beginning and after being replaced still did not work. The ice maker would freeze over and after even repairing it broke again. We have been using ice trays for two years due to not being able to afford to pay the repair cost and another part since it was out of warranty at that point. I have filed a complaint with the State Dept. of Consumer Affairs and to file suit to replace a defective design. We are contacting their legal department due to the fact they knew it was a defective design and will not fix it or replace it. Electrolux used to be a great company and unfortunately like many today just dont care about the consumers who purchase with their hard earned money from them. The only recourse is to just not give them the money in the future so I highly recommend you do your research before throwing your money away with them.

We bought the French Doors ElectroLux Icon refrigerator for about $4500 and after 4 years have to replace the ice maker and the electronic circuit board. Their service group which requires you to buy another warranty, took 3 days to tell me authorized dealers to call for the repair. I live in major city so this was extremely mind blowing. I would recommend not buying this refrigerator.

After installing the fridge in my newly built home, it leaked and ruined a portion of my new hardwood floor. After seven months of jumping through numerous hoops to provide documentation, receipts, photos, statements etc, they refused to take ownership or reimburse the $2,000.00 in repairs. I sent several letters, emails and left phone messages with customer service while waiting for their response and no one ever got back to me. This is, without a doubt, the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I will never purchase another Electrolux product. My son is building a house and he is steering clear of this company as well.

Ordered a new fridge freezer from Electrolux and expected delivery tomorrow. Unfortunately they have invoiced my supplier and lost my fridge so no new fridge freezer tomorrow! I telephoned Electrolux customer services... and waited... and waited... and waited. After over 10 minutes I decided too many people must be complaining about their dreadful service so I gave up, hung up and phoned my supplier to cancel. I have now ordered a fridge freezer from an alternative supplier... Electrolux? Never again!!

Refrigerator serial number 4A83408850. Not even 6 years old. For one week an alarm goes off and displays power fail. The alarm buzzes 3 to 5 times waking everyone up! Its nocturnal! Depriving us of our sleep! Electrolux said we need to replace the unit board which will Cost $130. Called for service from the place we purchased it and they cant come till Tuesday June 24. Electrolux said that eventually the refrigerator will stop working and I believe it because it is getting worse. Last night we got a new code display CE so we unplugged the fridge which helped reset it!

Updated on 09/03/2020: It is now September 3, 2020 and I have finally been able to write to 2 people at Electrolux (Mira and Melissa) about my Frigidaire Refrigerator issues. Even though I have been told the people I wrote would get back to me (5 days ago), I have heard nothing from anyone at Electrolux/Frigidaire. The staff refuse to provide contact information to anyone above Supervisor and Ive been at this since receiving this defective fridge in May 2020. I am frustrated that Ive spent so much money and wasted so much time trying to resolve issues that should not exist in a new product.Original Review: I bought a Frigidaire Professional refrigerator from HOME DEPOT who broke the door upon delivering it. They replaced it with another unit which was defective. The defective unit was replaced with a unit with defective parts again. Electrolux and HOME DEPOT insisted that it be repaired, not replaced. They sent out a tech three times then advised me that they approved a replacement weeks prior. That was on July 29, 2020. The (3rd) replacement was authorized on July 8 (without notifying me). It is now August 20, 2020 and I find myself once again on hold for over an hour to be told Sherine at HOME DEPOT cant find the information and cant help me that I need to call another dept.I called the other dept. who said I had to deal with HOME DEPOT.... Yes, I spent hours and hours calling these companies only to be placed on hold for hours and I am still having to wait for them to figure this out. My review is about the really long wait times on hold (today only it was 2hrs and 17 minutes in total), the fact that too often they dont know how to use the phone and say that there are phone system issues today. Too often they are rude and unhelpful. Consumers need to think long and hard about who they buy from. Too often big companies are buying the competition and limiting consumers options, then remove quality of service. Its time the consumer speaks up or stop buying crappy product from companies who dont care to provide care.

French door refrigerator - This has been the worst appliance ever created.
French door refrigerator - This has been the worst appliance ever created. We purchased in the late Fall of 2011. Very soon the plastic grey trim popped off the freezer door for no reason. Just two adults live here so no wear and tear. Not happy about it but taped it on until finally giving up on tape holding. Customer services response was lame and we were not willing to pay for their ridiculous fix so I would have to live with this aesthetic. Then we began having issue after issue with the ice maker. Grinding noise, not making ice or it all freezing together -- on and on and it never got fixed. Repairman has been out 3 times in past 2 months. He was back yesterday and we pulled the fridge from the wall and we were horrified. The back had a big block of ice protruding. It had sweated and rusted out the entire back panel. The insulation was shot. This is nothing more than a boat anchor now. We paid a lot of $ for an appliance that didnt even last 6 years and weve hated it since about a month after purchasing. We have lawyers in the family and were planning on initiating a class action suit. I would use an Igloo cooler before I would ever consider an Electrolux refrigerator or anything! They dont stand by their product and they shouldnt be allowed to get away with these continued issues. The fridge should be banned from further production and the company should close its door if they cannot remediate the problems and compensate customers for these losses. We now have to buy a new fridge after spending approx $4000 less than 6 years ago.

This product was purchased in December 2006 and installed in our home in April 2007 after our home remodel was completed. When we purchased this product, it came to our home from Home Depot in a box. However, after only 4 years, the freezer has stopped working. And, when the repair man came to check the product, he pointed out to us that the product had welder soot marks around the left back bottom and parts had been refurbished inside the unit. In short, the product was not a new product when we purchased it from Home Depot in 2006.When we contacted Home Depot about this matter, the appliance manager was very concerned and stated that they will be checking all products from Frigidaire for refurbished soot marks. He also stated that the freezer should not have stopped working after just a short length of time.As a result, we have contacted our attorney. Our attorney explained that his office will be contacting the FDA and also the Federal Consumer Affairs Office in Washington and request a full investigation into this matter. It is suspected that Frigidaire is selling refurbished products; and 100s of other consumers may have been scammed as well. The product arrived at my home from Home Depot in the manufacturers box and sold to us as a new product. However, the repair annalist informed us on 3 November 2011 that the product was refurbished not new!We called Frigidaire Customer Care Center today at 1-980-236-2000 and talked to a representative who had an extremely illiterate tone over the phone. In short, he basically told us to go to hell.1000s are being scammed by Electrolux Corp (Frigidaire distributor). Please investigate! Thank you.

I cant get it to come back on and so my food is spoiling. Of course it has to happen on a weekend and no one can come out here and fix it. I havent unplugged it several times and plugged it back in hoping that would fix the problem but of course that didnt work. Whatever you do, please do not buy anything from Electrolux. We bought a side by side refrigerator in the summer of 2012. Upon delivery and install the ice maker was spewing out ice - crushed and regular ice all over my kitchen floor. We had to call a service person in to fix the problem. We had to call back a week or so later to have the machine fixed again for the same problem. At this time we realized we may have bought a lemon and added an extended warranty. I called for a part that had broken inside of the door at which time Electrolux said that they did not supply a warranty for that item. I read that they use refurbished parts also to repair their appliances. Someone should have told me this or I wouldnt have bought the warranty. The service call last year was just under $100.00 which I refused to pay since we had just bought it.I requested a refund from my extended warranty that went into effect August 7, 2013. I paid $185.90 and will only get $122.74 minus the $18.59 administer fees bringing the total refund to $104.14. This is crazy! I wish I had done research on this product, but didnt have the time. I will go to Lowes and let the service reps. know that this is a lousy brand and dont recommend it to their clients as well as writing a complaint on Lowes website.

Our Electrolux Fridge model EI23BC60KS (ELECTROLUX, REF F/S 24D, FRENCH DOOR, F/D, 23CUFT, 24D, HDN HNG, I/M) started overheating about 9 months post purchase. Since then weve taken at least 12 days off work so far to have service technicians come check it out (6x now) and then waited approx a week to get a second visit where they replaced a different part each time or turned it off. Worst is that every time, weve lost hundreds of dollars in food and we have a baby so had to purchase a mini fridge to at least keep his basic items like milk cool. When I reached out to Electrolux Canada Head office the last time, they indicated they couldnt do anything other than paying for parts given it was the same issue identified during warranty period because I didnt purchase replacement insurance (this was two days post warranty period). Again the same thing happened so this will be our 7th call to a servicing company. This is the second set of Electrolux appliances (we had them in our old house as well and I recommended them to friends and family given no their sleek design). Its so not worth it though unless youre ok having a fridge that doesnt actually function. This has been the worst product and customer support experience Ive had in my life. I paid a lot of money for a fridge that didnt even last 9 months, lost hundreds of dollars in food, taken several days off work to try and resolve and still no solution or support from Electrolux whatsoever.

I wanted a refund or extended warranty which they refused. When I decided to accept the offer, I was told it was no longer available. The freezer door handle is loose. The temp display is disappearing and there is a hole about 1 inch above the interior light where the paint is peeling. Purchased a matching refrigerator and freezer units with a trim kit for our newly built home. Prior to installing these units, both were plugged in to ensure they worked properly. The freezer did work without issue, however the refrigerator (after three services) still doesnt hold a temperature under 70 degrees. We asked for a replacement from the company we purchased it from (Jetson of Stuart Florida) and was told that the manufacture would not authorize a replacement because the unit could not be classified as unrepairable. Called the manufacture, and was told that they had no record of any service on the refrigerator. After the manufacture called the service department at Jetsons, and discovered no service call history was forwarded to the manufacture, all that could be done was another service call had to be set up. (Runaround, runaround). Of course a technician will get the unit to work for a few hours and again it will fail, and this merry-go-round will continue. I am out $2,000 and no working refrigerator. Buyer be aware, every seller of appliances must follow the manufacture replacement policies. Once you take delivery you are stuck.

The refrigerator stopped cooling. I registered a complaint (ref no PTNA 2210110036, dated 8 Oct 2011). The delay in attending to the complaint resulted in leakage of oil. I was later advised to get the compressor changed as oil change cannot be done. Even after compressor change, the refrigerator was not working and was taken to ASC and returned the unit with drilling in the back to do the work. How and with whose permission the drilling is being done? I wish I would have found this website before purchasing the refrigerator 4 years ago. I will never buy another Electrolux product again. The ice maker has never fully worked since we got the refrigerator. Contacted Electrolux when it was still under warranty. The service company came out. Said it was the control board and that they would replace it. Never heard from them again and got busy. Finally the ice maker stopped working altogether about a year ago. I think the biggest problem with these appliances is that they are not made in the USA. This refrigerator was made in Mexico -- you get what you pay for -- low wages, low quality. When are we going to learn? Cheap labor is never better. As with Electrolux they have lost and will lose a lot of business due to these problems. Did they really save a lot of money seeking out a lower labor cost country? I will make sure my next appliance is made in the USA.

5 year old E23BC68JPS (ICON 36 Refrigerator) freezer door jam - From the time we purchased this refrigerator, the freezer door assembly has been problematic. First the gasket around the freezer was defective, which was covered under warranty. Now after 5 years of very moderate use (just my wife and I), the freezer door track has jammed. There is no service in the Monterey Bay area, and it will take up to 2 weeks to get someone out here from another area to look at it. We loved the design of the fridge when purchased, but after only 5 years, this should not have happened. It is a clear reason for the money that we should have stepped up to the Miele as all of the Miele appliances we have are substantially higher quality. We will not be purchasing another Electrolux appliance in our lifetime...

My experience with Electrolux appliances is junk, junk, junk!!! I purchase three brand new appliances and they all had to be serviced right out of the packaging!! The french door bottom freezer refrigerator is junk. The ice maker in the bottom drawer was replaced within a month and a half after purchased. The upper ice maker has been replaced once, serviced two more times since then and now needs to be serviced again!! It goes through some type of defrost mode which causes the cubes to melt in both the upper and lower bins, which then drips out of the dispenser in the door and once again it does not make ice. It frosts up behind the ice bin itself which in turn needs to be serviced again to replace some seal. I have always purchased GE appliances and gave Electrolux a try being they are suppose to be a higher end appliance. Never, never again would I purchase Electrolux!!

Whoa -- either in 1970 or 1971, my parents purchased a Gibson freezer. Within in the last 2 years - yep last 2 yrs - we decided to replace the working Gibson. It was still working and never broke down once. But of course, it used way too much electricity and we didnt want to take a chance with a freezer full of food. Went to Lowes and purchased an Electrolux (tag inside of freezer) but says Frigidaire on the outside. Of course, yesterday it died and ruined a full freezer. It just floors me that a freezer thats almost 45 years would still be working and the new freezer that is ** 2 years old took a crap - OF COURSE -- ITS OUT OF WARRANTY!!! WILL NEVER AGAIN EVEN WASTE MY TIME LOOKING AT ELECTROLUX/FRIGIDAIRE.Updated on 07/07/2017: Within a couple of days I received an email back from Electrolux. - blah blah blah -. Yes, they said they were concerned and asked for more information regarding the repair. Explained, repair person was coming Sat. - he came - found what was wrong, said he would order the part and come back to install it. I emailed Electrolux again & explained it was a control of some kind. Never did they let me know NOT to pay the repair person ---- well let me know if you know of a company that will be willing to fix an appliance and then WAIT for payment. After the repair was completed, I emailed back and gave the additional information, & asked where I could mail the invoice since we paid for the repair. HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD SINCE. I do understand no company will pay for any food that was ruined or labor.

Bought 20 cuft Frigidaire freezer in Dec. 2020. Did not work correctly after 2 weeks, frosted up. Fan stopped working. Light did not work. After several weeks (the freezer had now stopped working) the door and gasket where delivered. The service man never returned or answered my calls. I called electrolux. They sent out a different company. After a few weeks the service man said he would have to order some parts. He did do something with the fan motor. He did order some parts. After several weeks, 3 or 4 I called the service company and they told me that one of the parts was on back order. After 6 months the part came in. A month before I plugged in the freezer and it started working. Still frosted up and no light. The service man returned and after about 30 minutes he said it needed another part. He was not using the part we had waited over 6 months to get. A week later he returned, put some shims in the original door and everything worked right. Not end of story. The new door is still on my sun room floor on a pallet (6ft long). Its now been 8 months, They kept telling me they were going to pick it up. Now they say because its a residence they cant get it pick up, they had it DELIVERED. Now they say its up to me to dispose of it at my expense. I think I am going to try and sell it!

Third visit from Service Tech., still not working. I told Electrolux I could not afford to keep taking time off work but they do not care. Fourth Service Call, repairman said door is defective. He managed to shim the new component & not tighten screw all the way & now the Ice Maker is working but, for how long??? Electrolux refuses to do anything. They are the worst and that is why I call them DEFECTOLUX!

Theres no minus five stars rating for this brand. If not I will rate it minus 3. Is the worst buy I done in my life with 2 visit from a repair company and is broken again. Government needs to start regulating this guys. You pay thousands for a fridge and in just a few months is broken, is not fair for us the consumers.
