KitchenAid dishwasher kud530fxss4 constant repair. Thermocouple went out, repairman replaced. 6 month later out again. Replaced with modification recommends by manufacturer. 7 months later out again. Replaced again. Now circuit board fried. Appliance is not worth the price. I have had dishwashers costing half as much last years. Will never buy KitchenAid again. Dishwasher is 4 years old and going to the trash bin.

We have had two kitchenaid ranges in the last two years. The first one burnt up twice on the self-clean cycle and was replaced by a range with a higher speed blower fan that is extremely loud and annoying. Kitchenaid replaced the fan twice and have come to a conclusion that this is normal. When I first contacted Kitchenaid, their comment was we have had no noisy fan complaints. Service techs they have replaced many. Kitchenaid have told us they no longer going to help us with the noisy fan as it is normal. We are now stuck with a $2200 range. We will never buy kitchenaid junk again.

We bought our home in May 2011 with a one-year old KitchenAid oven. Last week, I used the self cleaning cycle for the first time. The oven door locked and the digital display was dead. So, I called KitchenAids troubleshooting number--no help and no acknowledgement that this is a known issue! I had to wait five business days, pay $55 and stay home for four hours today waiting for the repair guy via our insurance to come. He replaced the dead thermostat and told me its a known issue and not to use the self cleaning. Now, after reading this list, I see that more problems may still follow! The interior bottom of the stove is now completely damaged from previous owners. It was covered with an oven tray so we did not see it but I now suspect that this was also due to a fault in the stove/heating. We have two KitchenAid ovens!

Just six months ago we bought a counter depth side by side fridge for over $2,500 and the fridge part stopped cooling last week. It took a week to get a repair man out for to service for the warranty and now it needs another week for a simple part to fix it. We’ve had to throw away all items in the fridge, and this happened after 6 months. I would not recommend buying from this company.

I purchased a full suite of KitchenAid higher end appliances for a kitchen remodel 04/2020. Since we received the appliances in 06/2020 the microwave has failed to heat. Called Whirlpool/KitchenAid, who sent out a local repair service. The repair guy says the microwave is a total loss. Whirlpool/kitchen aid says its repairable; however, all of the parts are on backorder. After waiting for 2 months I have called to request replacement of a 6 month old $1200 microwave, and told by Megan a supervisor at Whirlpool that the warranty does not cover replacement since it can be fixed. However, they do not currently have the parts to make the repair, and no timetable for the repair. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product including all brands they manufacture. Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Amana, and Maytag, buyer beware of these products. The manufacturer does not stand behind their products.

We moved into a custom built home and selected a KitchenAid refrigerator/freezer, wall oven, microwave, stove/oven combo, and two dishwashers. It’s been 2.5 years and every single appliance has had issues except one dishwasher. The refrigerator/freezer is the worst of all. First it was the ice maker, then it was the ice maker door, then it was the motor, and now the water line to the ice maker is dripping. The wood floor in front on the freezer is now ruined from all the leaks. We’ve had a repair guy out at least 5 times already and Im going to have to call them out again to fix this new issue. If youre wondering about the other appliances: the microwave sensor for the door is faulty. The bulb went out in one year (probably because the light stays on when it thinks the door is open) and a service person had to remove the entire wall unit to replace a $3 bulb. Also, occasionally when we press start, it does this weird halfway come on thing… They said to just restart it. The stovetop does not regulate heat well. Low and medium flames on the medium sized eyes are exactly the same. Low boils over every time. The repair guy said, “The flame is not changing but the heat is.” Really?? Because it’s really not. We’ve learned to utilize the space between ignite and high to better control heat. I shouldnt have to implement tricks for it to act right. Also, when I put the small eye on low, it often causes the ignitor on eyes next to it to continually tick. If it doesnt do it every time, they cant fix that either. The repair guy has been out twice for the stove. One of the dishwashers does a pretty terrible job of cleaning… not sure why but Im going to have the service guy look at that when he comes for the freezer leak. KitchenAid small appliances are awesome. Their major appliances are not. It seems in the last couple of years, the quality has gone down quite a bit. If you choose to buy their major appliances anyway, get the extended service plan; you’re going to need it.

The brand new, top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher I recently purchased leaked the second time I used it and ruined my hardwood floor. It has been a nightmare dealing with Sears, where it was purchased, their insurance company, and KitchenAid. I have been waiting six weeks so far for KitchenAid to respond to the insurance company. That is a long time to be without a dishwasher! KitchenAid customer service has been useless. All I can say is I will never purchase any otherKitchenAid or Whirlpool product. I guess customer satisfaction is no longer important. I wish I had purchased another Maytag!

We purchased a Model KSC23C8EYY side-by-side KitchenAid refrigerator in November 2012 for over $2,499. Immediately we noticed that it was loud and often made strange noises. We tried leveling it precisely, but nothing made a difference. Sometime in 2013, we noticed that water had been leaking behind the refrigerator. We called the factory service people recommended by KitchenAid. They came out and replaced tubing at a cost of over $250 and said that it was not covered under the warranty because it had been installed incorrectly. In June 2014 The freezer and refrigerator quit getting cold. We called the same repair people. We had to wait days for a service appointment. They showed up and said they had to order the part. Again, we had to make an appointment and take off work for the next visit. This time, there was a different worker who said that the wrong part had been ordered. Again, we had to make an appointment and wait for days for someone to service our fridge. By this time we had been without a refrigerator for over two weeks and used coolers to try to keep as much of our food fresh as possible. Finally, on July 8, 2014 a repairman came out and fixed the refrigerator. It required a new compressor and recharging the system. I had to miss an entire day of work to wait on the repairman and then be there for the 3-hour repair. Luckily, this was clearly under warranty and the total cost of $654.79 was covered.Less than three months later on September 30, 2014, our refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling again. Unable to miss more work in order to wait for repairmen that may or may not fix the problem, we decided to just go to Home Depot and buy a GE refrigerator. In 55 years the KitchenAid refrigerator was absolutely the worst appliance that I have ever owned! Our money was truly thrown away.

After having a KitchenAid dishwasher that ran well for 11 years, we purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears on 6/11. This was model KUDS30FSSX2. In November of 12, wheels came off the upper rack and soon after, the motor wouldnt start. It would hum and then not go further in cycle. We had a repairman look at it. He said the motor was bad and that KitchenAid would not replace it. We paid for a replacement (about $400). The wheels on the upper rack were replaced after we complained to Whirlpool. There was never one trip here. They had to call for parts which were sent in about a week. Now, the motor will again not start and we are waiting to get help again. We never talk to the same person twice. The reports above match our experience. This is the same experience we had many years ago with our SAAB auto. They of course are now out of business and their employees lost their jobs. Im sure the execs were well compensated. KitchenAid and their owner, Whirlpool, are headed for the same future. I feel sorry for the employees, but this is what will happen when quality and buyer satisfaction no longer counts. Needless to say, we will never purchase another KitchenAid product or a Whirlpool made product which are marketed under names like Kenmore, etc. Sears too has been no help.

I purchased the KitchenAid dishwasher model KDTM704ESS0, for around $1400 in 2015. After three years of light use (there are only two of us) the wash motor seized up and needs to be replaced at a cost of $500-$600. I called KitchenAid and they told me the motor was no longer in warranty so they would do nothing. This is my fourth KitchenAid dishwasher in forty years. None of my other KitchenAid dishwashers have ever needed a repair of any sort. In fact, I have never even had a service call on any of my other KitchenAid dishwashers. The previous dishwashers were replaced due to kitchen remodeling or upgrading, not because they stopped working. I cannot believe that a main component of this expensive dishwasher would last only three years. I would think twice about buying a new KitchenAid. I know two other people who have had their KitchenAid dishwasher motors fail after only approximately three years. Sad that the KitchenAid quality isnt there anymore! Also sad that the company is OK with a customer spending $1400 and having the product last for only three years!

Our stainless steel, French door, KitchenAid refrigerator is a year old. The ice cube maker stopped working, so we had to have a service person come out. The diagnosis is that the ice maker broke, due to ice build-up. The part is under warranty, but the first service charge is $189.00 and they have to come again after the part is ordered. How can they charge to fix a part that is still under warranty that broke because it is defective? I will never buy from KitchenAid again.

KitchenAid electric range # KERS807SSS00. I am very disappointed in KitchenAid! They don’t deserve a star! Because They sold out to Whirlpool to avoid covering their poorly built products that should’ve had been recalled or, came up with a seal to prevent control board burnout! This is my second spillover and the dash control panel is burned out again. At least the range does work because it’s independent from the oven, you do need the control panel to operate the oven. I called KA which is Whirlpool now. Whirlpool, simply have a way of not covering any warranties on KA. They always have an excuse. Or, there’s no record of a complaint by me or by anyone else on this issue!I find that hard to believe because I had a spillover and I called and complained to KA within two months of purchase about the faulty glass top (No Seal) to prevent spillovers from the glass top to the bottom of where the control board burned out. Which they did cover because it was during the warranty period. And their excuse was, “Didn’t you read the manual?” Well No Maam! I didn’t! This is the third one in my family, and there’s been spillovers and nothing was blown out!! I should have realized. They had General Electric ranges. At the cost of $ 480.00 plus labor for the part. We will rather buy a new range other than KA or Whirlpool or any other products made by them!! In the meantime, I’ll be grilling out on the grill ☀️????

Our KitchenAid dishwasher was purchased & installed about two and a half years ago (Dec 11). The model is KUDS35FXSS4 for over $1000 from HH Gregg Appliances. We also purchased the extended warranty which is thru Federal Warranty Service Corp. We are having the same, repeating top rake wheels failure (3 times so far - every 9 to 12 months) that many others are experiencing. 1st time was under warranty bought from them... Of course the ext warranty does NOT cover wheels and rollers so downtime, parts, labor, aggravation, etc is on us. Thought KitchenAid was a reputable brand like Maytag 20+ years ago (before they went out of business for poor quality and reliability).Wrote KitchenAid a letter explaining and complaining about our recurring issue over a month ago and have heard nothing. Like many others on this site wed thought there would have been a recall or a part redesign to address this design failure but we see no change in parts when we reorder, over and over again. Funny, the parts supplier acknowledged they are sending out a lot of this specific part to address this specific problem. Anyone know how to initiate a class action lawsuit? Based on all the responses read on this site looks like we certainly have the beginnings of one. With so many out of work lawyers right now it could be a way for some of them to get started. It goes without saying (but we are saying it anyway) we are forever done with any future KitchenAid appliances.

After Katrina devastated our home, we lost everything. My husband and I didnt have much to repair our home so when we had to select our major appliances we knew they had to last a very long time. We believed in the KitchenAid/Whirpool company. We purchased the stackable washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, stove and french door fridge. Within the first two years the microwave went out. The cost of the repair was half the cost of the microwave. After that the fridge went out. We paid $265.00 for the repair. The following year the fridge went out again with the same cost in repair. Year 4 our washer went out with a part costing over $300.00. That same year my oven thermostat became a problem with a bill of $100.00 just to look at it. Now today after paying $198.00 for a repair guy to look at my fridge (which continues to run at 54 degrees) we learned that it will cost over $800.00 to fix the freon hose which is located behind a bunch of other parts and compressor. We trusted this company but it has been an expensive nightmare!!! We can not afford the repairs and the additional cost of wasted food and trips to the local laundromat each week. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM KITCHENAID/WHIRPOOL!!!! IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY AND YOU WILL SPEND JUST THE SAME ON REPAIRS. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE MY FAMILY LIVES EVERY DAY!! THEY SUCK!!

I am deeply disappointed with KitchenAid, an appliance manufacturer whom I thought built high quality, reliable products and who stood behind their products. I have a model KSSSC48QMS03 refrigerator that constantly runs with 1 second pauses and pinging noise. Technician diagnosed as faulty Gemini board 2307028 (W10219463). I cannot believe that Kitchen Aid does not provide repair part 2307028 (W10219463)! My home is only 8 years old and a showcase of high-end KitchenAid built-in stainless steel appliances; 48 wide refrigerator, microwave, warming drawer, double drawer dishwasher and gas stove with steamer. This Gemini Electronic Control is for the refrigerator (and, according to the service technician, in the stove as well). There are all kinds of complaints on the internet about KA refrigerators running continuously with a sonar-like pinging noise diagnosed as this faulty board. It is unbelievable that I have a $9K refrigerator for which KA will not provide a replacement part. According to the KA recommended service company, the only solution is to send the board off to a refurbisher. I dont like to buy parts from someone that is not supported by the manufacturer. Not that they may not do a good job, but that its not a new part, factory tested with manufacturer warranty. If this is what I can expect from KA, then as these appliances need to be replaced, I will change to a manufacturer who supports their products. Unbelievable, KitchenAid (Whirlpool)! This is probably a $50 part to manufacture that they could sell easily for $300. How can they anger so many customers? One comment said that KA told them this was due to the Tsunami in Japan that wiped out the plant. We had a plant affected as well at my company and its not hard to take the design to another manufacturing location.

Purchased set of KitchenAid Refrigerator and Gas Stove six years ago. From day one gas oven failed to ignite and has been repaired several times. Called supplier and they refused to repair. Has been repaired several times now and was told it is an ongoing issue. KitchenAid failed to warranty as they said it failed beyond the warranty. Recently we noticed the refrigerator leaking, called a technician only to find the water tray had been broken and duct taped. This unit has never had service therefore this damage was repaired in factory and sent out broken. In 2012 I purchased my new home and upgraded to ALL KitchenAid appliances. It was costly and I wish I would have done better research on appliance manufacturers. Just before the warranty was up on the first year, my refrigerator was leaking water. KitchenAid came out and fixed the water dispenser tubing. The repairman suggested that I buy another warranty and to keep buying them. He added that KitchenAid appliances are constantly breaking and the refrigerator was the worst appliance for reliability. I purchased a new 1 year warranty and that was up 1 month ago. I did not renew the warranty this year due to recent unemployment. Now the thermostat is out and it is going to cost me $300.00. I am going to purchase the warranty on all of the other appliances and ride this out. BBB and Consumer Reports recommend Thermador. I will be certain to never buy KitchenAid again and will go with what is recommended by the experts. Thanks KitchenAid!

I experienced an issue with our KitchenAid hood microwave in July because it was not heating. I called KitchenAid since the microwave was less than four years old and was what I thought to be top of the line from a reputable company. They gave me A&E factory service to come out for the repair. On the first visit, while working on the microwave, the technician sold us a service warranty for $40 adding that there would be no additional charges other than the $129 service fee and that he would have the microwave running again. He said that he found the issue, ordered the parts, and was going to come back a week later to perform the service work. He returned a week later and installed the parts but the microwave still did not work. While working on this, I heard him make a phone call to his manager. He called me into the room to let me know that the service plan he sold me was not good. They were going to refund my $40 and the work he had done on the microwave was about $388. If i wanted to get the microwave working, he could go further but I was responsible for the cost. I requested that he remove the parts he installed and let him know that I did not want the $40 back as I would be checking into why the service plan was not covering this. After numerous phone calls to A&E, they stated that since the microwave was not working at the time their technician sold me the protection plan, they could not cover the problem. I did not ask for the protection plan, he sold it to me. To make a long story short, I contacted KitchenAid--talk about not caring. They could not care less that I had an issue with their less than four-year old unit and even less that I had been duped by their service company A&E (Sears).I bought all new KitchenAid appliances after a house fire in 2007, thinking that I was getting top of the line equipment. Turns out, I bought junk that nobody will stand behind and no one can fix when there is an issue--fridge, oven, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer. When I have to replace the rest of this **, I will not buy any Whirlpool-made junk. I most certainly will not buy anything else from Sears and will never have A&E service back to my house.

Wow, wish I had found this website the day before yesterday! Just cleaned my oven for the first time since it was installed in June 2010 - dont judge. Same story as everyone else - self clean worked really well but when I turned it on today to do Christmas baking - nothing! If I had read these a few days earlier, I would have kept my dirty oven. Purchased a KitchenAid Dishwasher 4 years ago and have had trouble with it beginning 2 months after purchase. It flooded my kitchen due to a faulty water valve. With it under warranty the repairman states, I have seen this on all of these and they know it is happening and continue to put the faulty valves on these dishwashers. Then within a year the bottom rack wheels came off and did this on 2 occasions. Then all the front panel light went out about 6 months later. 6 months ago the top rack fell off (wheels & welds broke and were rusty) onto the bottom rack full of dishes with several glasses. Last night I started up the machine with no water intake and nothing occurred except the smell of wires burning. I will be purchasing a new dishwasher and it will not be a KitchenAid nor Whirlpool! Totally giving KitchenAid and Whirlpool a 0 rating.

I have a $2850 piece of fruit in my kitchen that is less than one year old.
I have a $2850 piece of fruit in my kitchen that is less than one year old. Its a lemon made by KitchenAid. I purchased the refrigerator KFIS29BBMS00 in brand new condition from a Texas appliance retailer in North Richland Hills in September of 2012. All was well until six months later, in March of 2013, the refrigerator stopped keeping the non-freezer items cool and ice was forming around the ice maker in the upper refrigerator, and also inside the door of the freezer. They, KitchenAid, dispatched an appliance technician for diagnostics. Lets start the count off for personal days of vacation stolen by these guys. (1 day) Evaporator fan ordered, and installed 10 days later mid April. (2 days) Load noise and additional ice build up 1 week later, service call scheduled. Same repair guy, different day. Parts ordered to replace faulty fan. (3 days) Two weeks later, installed firmware upgraded circuit board. (4 days vacation) In late June, the ice maker stopped working, service scheduled mid July with new service company and technician. (5 days vacation) Of course, parts ordered again... This time, the technician had them shipped to my house.About 12 days later, we received a parts shipment. We called KitchenAid when we received the parts package, asking when the service company was supposed to be back. They contacted them and they were out the next day. (6 days of vacation) Unfortunately, there were two additional parts being shipped and the repair could not be completed. Should not someone have known this dependency when we called? Fast forward an additional two weeks, now we are in early August and we called the service company again since all the parts are in. They cant come out until Sept 3, and in the meantime the refrigerator is making a very loud annoying noise. So, we called KitchenAid to report it and let them know we could not have the appliance serviced with the previous work order since the service provider stated they were only authorized to repair the ice maker. KitchenAid dispatched a third appliance repair company, who was scheduled by KitchenAid for 8/26, then no call no show. They said they did not receive a work order from KitchenAid, but assured me they could make it tomorrow, 8/26. (7 days vacation lost) The third repair company came out today, 8/27, and said they cant repair the refrigerator until the other company completes their work order. (8 days of vacation) Remember now, I still have another appointment scheduled for 9/3/2013, so count on another vacation day, totaling 9 for now and counting.

KitchenAid KUDS30IXBL - Horrible product, barely worked right from day one. Never cycles through properly. I would recommend buying another brand than Whirlpool corporation products. Use the internet to find other brands. Whirlpool now owns/manufactures Kenmore, Maytag, Magic Chef, KitchenAid, among others. They are ruining these once great brand names. Read reviews, dont put up with it, find alternatives (LG, Samsung, GE all are superior quality durability) until they do something about their horrible quality and poor customer service. NEVER AGAIN, Whirlpool corp. I will not buy your products. For $630 I paid for this dishwasher I would expect 10 years service. Why make stainless steel inside and racking when all the rest of the components are so cheap, shoddy, they function for less than 6 months under normal to light use?

Called technician in and he said it was the worse dishwasher he had seen. The seal on the motor evidently leaked and blew out all the functions for operation. It would be too expensive to repair. Here is a picture of the dishwasher. This dishwasher was installed 2 years and 1 month ago.

I bought the French doors refrigerator just 6 months ago and right away the fan was very noisy. Now 6 months in the temperature reading shows 125 on the freezer but yet it is freezing everything not just in the freezer but the fridge compartment. Called customer service and they took a week to send someone who just kept saying it’s the computer board. Even a non-technical person like me knew it was a thermostat issue. Takes another 10 days to come back with the new board and installs it and leaves. Nothing changed so I called back and then took another week to come back to test. Admits it’s the thermostat and says will order the part. 3 weeks after still no part and just fake promises, they are working on getting a thermostat. 5 weeks no working fridge and no sign of it being fixed or compensated for it or even replacement fridge. I actually don’t even want their garbage fridge or their lousy customer service! Just want my 5000 back. Do not get any Kitchen Aid appliances. They will give you a runaround.

I own 4 KitchenAid appliances, all 7 years old and all have needed repair. The microwave door spring broke, as well as the dishwasher door spring after the warranty. The refrigerator needed the entire electronic board and fan replacement, of course after the warranty. Lastly, the oven. But it was repaired while under warranty. We are 2 adults, no children and live in this home 6 months a year. I asked KitchenAid if there was a recall. The answer was no! So, I am not very happy about KitchenAid appliances and will not recommend or ever purchase Whirlpool products again. Not happy to say the least.

Re: KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDE20IXSS8, serial # F22604005. In September 2012 my wife and I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (referenced above) that can only be described as a lemon. Here are the reasons: Within a month of purchase, the drain pump needed to be replaced. Less than a year later, the touchpad and left-side top-rack support had to be replaced (the touchpad was under warranty, but not the rack support or labor). Total charge: $193.78. Eight months later the top rack had come loose again. Total charge: $182.60. Just two months after that the machine sprung a bad leak -- the motor and pump assembly had to be replaced. Total bill: $399.00. Exactly one year later the top-rack roller needs replacing. The service technicians estimate: $275.00. In less than three years of ownership, our overall repair bill adds up to $1,050.38. Thats just $71.66 short of what we originally paid for the machine, installation and sales tax included! But we have decided not to make that final repair. This machine is clearly a losing proposition. Instead, well save our money toward buying a new machine of another brand.

I paid for the person to come and I paid for a new element on a new drop-in stove/oven and it made no difference at all. IT SUCKS!!! I dont cook/bake at all. We purchased a new KitchenAid side x side refrigerator model KFIS29PBMS00 in late 2013. The cooling system failed in July 2014. We have had 9 service calls to date each requiring a 1/2 day of our time waiting for the appointment at home. The freezer has failed totally 3 times and the refrigerator then fails a few days later. We have lost our food three times and had damage to the floor as a result of the ice maker defrosting. Our last service call replaced the last operating part, and it failed in three days. Today, KitchenAid will require 7 to 10 days to determine what to do. And if they decide to replace it, another 2 or more weeks. So we have no refrigerator again for at least a month!!!! We are not happy.

We purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (model KFIS29PBMS) with a 5 year extended warranty. We started having trouble with the unit after 1 year, in that the freezer compartment was making a lot of noise. About a year later, it started again. the problem was the freezer was not keeping ice cream hard. They diagnosed the problem to be the automatic defrost cycle not working properly. Ice would build up around the fan causing the loud noise. This time, the service technician replaced the control panel and another panel in the rear of the unit. The noise subsided, but two problems continue to exist. The unit periodically beeps (every five to ten minutes) and the refrigerator freezer compartment continues to not freeze ice cream.I called for extended service and was told they would NOT come out to fix the problem because it was already repaired. After an hour with their extended service rep, they agreed to find another service company but said I may have to pay for the repair. I have had KitchenAid products in all three of my homes in the past. The quality of their products has changed - unfortunately for the worse. When they refuse to stand by their extended service contract, then its time to find another company. After reading several reviews on this refrigerator, I found that I am not the only one who has had this problem. Do yourself a favor, when you look at a KitchenAid product in a store, just walk on by. Save yourself a lot of aggravation!!!

We recently remodeled our kitchen and because our old appliances were KitchenAid and we were happy with them we decided to go with the brand again. Such a mistake. Within a few months the finishes on the fridge and the dishwasher are discolored, spotty, and there is rust showing through on the fridge door in multiple places. The handle on the freezer door wont stay tight. The self cleaning oven is a joke. These are overpriced, poor quality appliances. We bought an extended warranty which is no help for these issues. In spite of the fact that I was calm and factual with the resolution specialist was sarcastic and condescending. Im kicking myself for not doing more research as there are a ton of negative reviews out there stating the same complaints. I will share this story with everyone I can to be sure this product isnt purchased.

The first time it took them 6 months to get the part they said was not working and when they finally showed up yesterday May 25 it only worked a few hours and died again. I called service again and they refuse to give me a new refrigerator and couldn’t come out today to fix it even though I have once again lost everything in my refrigerator. The person named Pat on their service line refused to transfer me to someone with any decision making authority and refused to do anything more than schedule service again. We bought a stainless steel, built-in KitchenAid dishwasher about two years ago when we were renovating our kitchen. It has been a huge disappointment ever since. It doesnt actually clean the dishes, no matter what setting we have it on. It leaves bits of food and random stuff on everything. It smells like rotten eggs when it runs. Plus, it runs for hours and hours - why? It does not effectively dry the dishes. We have had it serviced at least three times with no real improvement. Really, at this point, it is just a glorified dishrack and we end up washing almost everything by hand. Cost over $500 and is worse than the $200 dishwasher we had before. Dont buy, unless you just secretly want a fancy, stylish dishrack.

We purchased our top of the line Kitchenaid Gas Range/Oven in 2019. When we use the locking mechanism to lock the electronic panel on the top, it seems to work properly on the oven but it does not lock the range. As a result there have now been many times we brush by the knob for the gas range and it will begin leaking the gas without the ignite. This has happened numerous times even when my cat walks by, or we brush by the stove, unloading groceries. The knob turns slightly and the gas begins to leak. At one time we had the whole room fill up with gas bc we did not know it was on (we believe our cat must have brushed by) and the 12X24 room was filled with gas. In a nutshell, the same part on my fridge (the thermistor assembly) has broken down 5 times since I bought it (roughly every three months) causing the fridge to simultaneously ice over yet not keep the food cold. I have a warranty on it, and per CAs Lemon Law, they should have replaced the fridge by now. But every time I call, they keep coming up with reasons why that it doesnt qualify for a Lemon replacement. (This latest time was that the latest repair had the same claim number because it was technically within 90 days of the last time a technician came out. By this logic, they could give me the same claim number till the end of time and never replace the fridge).I can afford a new fridge, but at this point its a matter of principle. I have wasted thousands of dollars in food, not to mention days of my life dealing with this issue -- and have become convinced (based on my research of other consumer complaints) that this is an issue KitchenAid is aware of and that they have knowingly foisted a faulty product & loophole-ridden warranty onto their consumers and EXPECT us to give up when they give us the run-around. I have researched lawsuits against KitchenAid and their warranty company and have been contacted by lawyers who are interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit. If you are interested in getting more information/participating in a class action lawsuit against KitchenAid, please email me.

Model #KRFF707ESS01 Seriel#K63621163 - In March of 2017 we remodeled our kitchen. We purchased KitchenAid appliances due to the new industrial type of handles. As soon as we hooked up the fridge the water/ice dispenser was not working. When you would press the ice water would come out. We placed a call to warranty, they came out and could not find the part - about 3 weeks later they show up and replace the front panel with an older style front panel as the part on my fridge was too new. Then around a month later, the fridge starts making a horrible noise, we call. A company by the name of GGSL Appliance Repair (in Orange County California) comes out, the guy was very rude and you could tell he did not want to be there. He tells us we need to order our own part. He stated if he ordered the part it would take up to three weeks to get it in. We do as asked and order the part, it arrived the next day. Once the part arrived we could get a hold of no one to install the part. They were ignoring all of our calls. (In the meantime KitchenAid is aware of this. We kept calling them as well.) Finally the part is put in place. Then within a couple weeks the fridge will not hold temperature, the fridge is sitting at 60 degrees. Anyone who knows anything about food handling knows that bacteria grows if a fridge runs anything over 39-40. I have to throw away tons of food and meat including my condiments. I call KitchenAid complain my $3000 brand new fridge has broken THREE times now and they tell me someone will come out the next day. The company they then hired called and said, No. I am sorry we cannot come until Monday (even though my fridge is at 60 degrees). That day I call KitchenAid/Whirlpool and get an email to a clevland_resources@whirlpool.com. I email him as well as show him all my notes and receipt for the purchase of the part that should have been covered under warranty that was on 09/06/17 and he has not responded. The fridge repair people were at my house today and still not fridge (have to order the part). I asked how long they said they do not know because they need approval from warranty to order the part. My fridge is obviously a lemon at 3K and they dont care to do anything about it. I am beyond frustrated and want to warn others about the products and services they offer. I would have never bought this product had I known the outcome. Poor products, poor customer service.

The ice maker has been replaced 4 times. The last time the tech told us we had the freezer set too cold. Can you imagine? A freezer, too cold? There were many other service issues that I will not mention because I consider them normal wear and tear. These totaled about $1000 over 9 years, which I think is acceptable. It heats up the kitchen so much it is uncomfortable to be in there while cooking anything in the oven.Just now, we turned off the oven more than an hour ago, and incredibly, the fan in the oven suddenly turned on and for about five minute spewed more hot air into our kitchen. This model has a documented problem with the frozen fresh food evaporator - Google the issue and youll find numerous customer complaints about this very issue. Most recently, the ice maker stopped working and we were told itd be an additional $455 of repair. The authorized service repairman in our area (whom weve gotten to know due to the ongoing repair issues) even commented during this most recent visit that the KitchenAid models hes serviced last, on average, 8 years. When I explained the situation to KitchenAid Customer Service this afternoon, they offered to schedule a non-warranty service for me (i.e., something I could literally do by picking up the phone myself). After being transferred to a KitchenAid supervisor, I was then told that theyd offer me a 40% discount off a brand new product. After spending almost $1300 on a $2600 refrigerator! AS IF. I remodeled my kitchen in June of 2012 and installed all KitchenAid appliances. Two weeks after the warranty was up on my dishwasher, it stopped working. I decided to get a contract, in case something happened again. Well it did. In 2014, the panel needed to be replaced, and today I just had a service person in to fix it again because its not cleaning the dishes. So to date, I have spent another $600 on this dishwasher, in addition to its original cost. The next time it breaks, Im just going to buy a new one -- and it will not be a KitchenAid! One other thing to note. I complained and complained to KitchenAid about the problems, thinking that they would do something to make up for the issues. But all I received was a form letter that basically said, too bad!

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator 6 years ago from Contra Costa Appliance in Walnut Creek, California. The refrigerator stopped cooling. Contra Costa Appliance repairman came promptly. The control board has failed. KitchenAid has discontinued making the part and it must be rebuilt, which will take 2-4 weeks. I must be without a refrigerator during that time. Discontinuing parts for a 6-year-old appliance is UNETHICAL!! SHAME ON KITCHENAID!

We have 2 KitchenAid dishwashers, supposed to be made by the same folks, with the top rack for silverware. This model is awful, would not recommend it at all. You have to raise the rack up every time you put something in the 2nd rack. If you lower the 2nd rack so it doesnt hit the 3rd then you cant put plates on the 3rd or lowest rack. What a mess. Had the appliance folks come out and they say there is nothing that can be done. This is an expensive dishwasher to have such a lousy system. We know KitchenAid knows how to get this done. Bad on us. Dont do the same....

I too experienced the dishwasher top rack roller failure. The top rack rollers are secured by (2) cheap very thin plastic spreader clips. These clips are approximately 3/16 wide by 1/16 thick. If just one of these cheap clips breaks - the roller wheel will separate causing the rack to collapse along with progressive failure of the adjoining roller wheel clips. This deliberate design and manufacturing defect by KitchenAid is an obvious attempt at planned obsolesce. This once celebrated company is no longer interested in producing durable quality products. Avoid the purchase of all KitchenAid dishwashers!

To KitchenAid Dishwashers: Compliments and thanks! KitchenAid has stepped up big time, so I want to update my November 7 negative review of dishwasher model # KDFE204EWH. This morning, we got a very nice phone call from KitchenAid’s customer care people. They will pay for the part replacement and the installation labor. In a happy coincidence, their local authorized service operation happens to be the same (first-rate) dealer we bought the dishwasher from, so I know the follow-through will be there. Two takeaways: At least one of the “squawking platforms” that we used for our complaining this past week did the trick, so complain widely! And It likely also helped that we promptly registered our purchase with KitchenAid, so they already had all the details.

I purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher model KUDC031V on 2-15-10 for the price of $535.43. After owning this appliance for over a year and after much frustration, I feel compelled to voice my disappointment with this product. I personally have owned my last 3 Kitchenaid dishwashers and have always felt extremely happy with the product, however this is the worst appliance I have ever owned. I do not expectations from you. Just wanted to let you know how displeased I have been. This product does not clean dishes in the upper rack as well as on the bottom, it also is the noisiest I have ever heard. I will be replacing it with a Bosch, never again to deal with Kitchenaid.

I purchased a side by side Kitchenaid (KRFC704FSS00) fridge in April 2017 and was so excited for this beautiful appliance! It was their newest model, with all the latest features and upgraded interior and had a hefty price tag. After a few months our ice machine was not working properly so we had to have a technician come out. They told us this machine does not produce large amounts of ice and makes it every 3 hours. With a family of six this is not cutting it, there is never any ice!!!Woke up this morning to find our Fridge had DIED!!! No power and all the food was spoiling. The board blew out after 16 months of purchasing. Absolutely ridiculous. And of course since it has been over 1 year since purchase, so it is no longer covered under warranty. $500 later to have the unit fixed. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I will never purchase a Kitchenaid/Whirlpool product again!

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator in Sept 2014 for nearly $3000. On Oct 1, 2015 the refrigerator was warm resulting in loss of most of the food. I called my authorized dealer, Poirier Sales of Norwood MA, where I purchased the fridge and requested service that day. They came out and charged me $169 house call and found that the SEALED waterline was blocked which resulted in the fan freezing up and had stopped working. The fridge was 1 year 2 weeks old! I called KitchenAid and they REFUSED to pay the house call charge of $169. Why is shoddy workmanship the norm? I will NEVER buy a KitchenAid product again.

I purchased a five-door KitchenAid refrigerator model number KRMF706ESSOO that was delivered 9/23/16. The refrigerators top right-hand door had rust on it & the ice maker did not worked at delivery nor the day after. The ice maker has been replaced 4 times and the water valve 3 times. Today is December 22nd 2016 and after seven attempts of the service techs that Whirlpool sent to make the repairs so that we can have ice we still have no ice. Because the water has always leaking out of the Chute of the ice makers, that they keep replacing and the water valves that they keep replacing wont seal at all where the two grommets are located the water continually leaks out around the grommets and tubes that supply water for drinking and ice for the ice maker. I have to keep towels inside my refrigerator to collect to the water that comes through the vent holes and drips on the shelves inside the refrigerator or choose to turn the water off completely to the refrigerator. Therefore not being able to have filtered water (because of the seriousness of the defects we turned the water off today to the refrigerator). The repairman had to replace the electronic control board on the drawer that has the temperature selection for your meats, cheese, etcetera because the water linkage shorted out the control panel. The water leakage at the top is so heavy that the 4 light panels were fill with water. Today when the technician took the panel off, it took three full-size bath towels to clean up the water mess. My husband and I are exhausted worrying about the refrigerator electrically shorting out.We feel like KitchenAid company is guilty of neglect & have a defective product and unsatisfactory service technicians that they have certified and require you to use. The tech today a new company that repairs refrigerators (not the company that KitchenAid originally schedule the repairs & said that we had to use) told us that there is a manufacturer defect & theres a aftermarket kit that has to be put on this model refrigerator in order for the ice maker to work and make ice and prevent the water from leaking out of the front of the ice maker. First of all they have to put a defrost element on our ice maker!!! Can you believe that? When the tech took the back of the refrigerator off there was solid wall of ice so now we have to have a defroster on the icemaker. Next the temperature has to be below 37 degrees in order for the ice maker to work; therefore, and aftermarket installation add-on kit to keep the cold air inside the refrigerator compartment has to be ordered and installed. The repair technician showed us at the back of the refrigerator where the cold air is leaking out at the back of the refrigerator that we never noticed before or would have considered a manufacture defect and design flaw; we were just dumbfounded at the amount of air leakage out of the refrigerator compartment to the outside of the refrigerator. There should be a class action suit against this FOR PROFIT (in my personal opinion only) driven company that would put their customers /consumers through this. Greed is rampant. Weve spoken with the supervisor at KitchenAid (after not getting any satisfaction from the call center customer complaint center). We were told that KitchenAid makes NO lemons NOR defective products. KitchenAid MAY be in complete denial or must have a phone script that they are required to read from. They voice record every conversation for their benefit. To collect all the facts and then deliver the same tired phrases Were not going to do anything other than to replace parts. The food that I have lost theyre not replacing. The seven or eight days of missed work (that I didnt get paid for) too bad theres no compensation. The time Ive spent complaining taking pictures and documenting the neglect and defects and telling them has been in vain because they keep saying your only option is for us to keep sending repairmen and replacing parts; were sorry youre having a problem.Well if youre sorry make a decent product that people do not have to go through hell after theyve spent a fortune purchasing their brand refrigerator. My money is now in KitchenAid pocket and they refused to replace my lemon refrigerator nor give me customer satisfaction thus far. I will have to keep taking off work and work with repairmen unless I resort to hire an attorney to save myself time and aggravation. Ive asked them to give me a new refrigerator and they wont do it.

The light in the oven of our 8 year old kitchenaid superba stove doesnt light up anymore. Apparently we have to change the whole board? Total loss of function for the oven and the visible control area (lights, timer, programs) resulted. The cost of a new board in Canada is close to $500 + installation so it is not worth repairing. Kitchenaid offers no assistance in this matter. The stove cost us $2500. We thought we were buying the best but were we ever wrong.Fridge door bottom hinge is sinking in the door, the door is basically just foam there is. No support to hold the weight, very bad design. We have a stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher. Its around 3 years old. Model is KUDK03FTSS0. It does a decent job cleaning the dishes, but Ive had to dismantle the filter mechanism to clean it out twice now, no big deal, but I did have to buy a special Torx screwdriver. The main problem, however, is the placement of the steam vent. Its located at the top of the door, which happens to be right under the countertop. Over time, the steam venting from the dishwasher has caused my counter (melamine) to swell and bulge and now its impeding the door from opening. What a stupid idea to place the steam vent right under the countertop! Well, its probably not an issue if youve got granite counters. I guess thats next on the list of household updates.

I thought I was buying a quality product when I purchased my side by side KSF26C7XYY00 refrigerator. The refrigerator I had was very old and not cooling. Since I was renovating my kitchen, what better than to purchase a quality product like KitchenAid... Unfortunately that was not the case! After six months to the day, the freezer stopped working. I had to throw everything away the day before Christmas. Knowing no one would be taking calls on Christmas I waited a couple of days. In the meantime, the refrigerator side stopped cooling as well. I called the KitchenAid customer service line to go through the proper procedures and protocol for the warranty. The service guy came out on Dec. 28 and told me he did not know how to fix it and he would order the parts. Several days pass. I had to call them to find out where the parts were only find that they had no idea. There was a new tracking system and they could not track the parts in transit. After a week and a half and after speaking with one of KitchenAids corporate reps and some emails to the Brand Experience Senior Manager they finally agreed to replace the refrigerator. You would think this would be a good thing however they had to order it and it would take 7-10 days. After calling the delivery company I found that they had had the refrigerator and no information on who it belonged to, yet no one investigated this. I received the new replacement refrigerator on Jan. 20. Now, you would think that the saga would be over, but no. After nearly ONE MONTH without a refrigerator, the new refrigerator does not work! The freezer is not freezing and the refrigerator side is only slightly cool compared to the 37 degrees that it is supposed to be according to the manual. I called KitchenAid only to have the customer service person tell me I needed to make an appointment for a service call. At this point I am beyond frustrated and I would like to get my money back so I can buy something that works. I cant afford to replace food or eat out daily. I will NEVER buy KitchenAid or any of their affiliates again and will advise everyone I know and work with (the 9th largest school district in the US) of the same.

On August 13, 2012 we purchased a French door refrigerator made by Kitchen Aid. 10 months later we were seeing water running down the inside door from the ice maker. I called the company and they sent out technician to fix it who didnt seem like he knew what he was doing. He made several phone calls to ask questions about the repair. After he left my refrigerator was working properly so I was satisfied. Meanwhile, my neighbors were looking to get a new refrigerator and loved the look of mine so they purchased the same model. Months later my neighbor called me complaining of water leaking from her ice maker. They had to have it repaired but then a couple months later she told me their freezer stopped working and they lost hundreds of dollars of food. She called Kitchen Aid to come repair it for a second time. My husband and I went on vacation and we returned home to find our freezer stopped working while we were gone and lost all of our food. When I called Kitchen Aid they informed me I was two months past my warranty and since I didnt buy an extended warranty (which I didnt think I would need to on a fridge that cost almost $3000.00) there was nothing they could do. It could be repaired but at my cost. After a very heated discussion and much screaming on my end about their inferior product I got them to agree to fix it at their cost. I am sitting here now while a repairman is here and he is running dye through the lines to find the problem. He has informed me that it will be at least a couple of weeks until this is fixed. Meanwhile I have no working freezer and have a family to feed. I called Kitchen Aid again to see if they could do something and the womans response was there was nothing they could do and she actually suggested that I leave food in a friends freezer! I googled complaints against Kitchen Aid and was shocked to say the least. It seems they are known for these problems and customer service is not their strong suit. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid appliance again and will tell everyone who will listen about my experience.

Kitchenaid Gas free standing range. I always thought Kitchenaid was a dependable brand. I believe this range cost us $1700. I liked that it had convection oven and that the grates on top covered the entire top so no matter what size pan or griddle you used it did not wobble. This range turned out to be the worst range I have ever owned! The repair man knew us by name including our dogs! The other terrible thing about it is we had to order this range and had to pay in advance of receiving it. Purchased at Westar in Tucson Arizona. The range did not come in for 5!!! Months.AND to make matters worse our warranty started from the day we ordered it! Kitchenaid policy! I went on facebook and wished I had done that before the purchase because there were literally hundreds and hundreds of complaints. When I suggested we all get together and start a class action law suit Kitchenaid blocked me from posting on their wall. I will NEVER buy a Kitchenaid again. My advice would be stay away from Kitchenaid. They are not what they used to be. You pay alot of money for nothing!I now research completely before I buy any appliances. I take my time, I ask around. Sometimes the less expensive brands are 100% better. It took so long to get this range that after my complaining weekly (because every week they said it would be in that week) they finally gave me a GE use in the meantime since I had NO range. The GE they loaned me was a $700 range but after finally getting the Kitchenaid I realized the GE ran circles around the KA.

I purchased a KitchenAid French door bottom freezer for a long awaited, much needed kitchen remodel. I thought I did my homework on price, reliability and quality. Obviously, I did not do a good job. The fridge was purchased and shipped in late September 2010 and sat in the garage with all of the other components of the kitchen that were ordered and delivered. I wanted everything here before the contractor started work. The fridge was one of the last things to be installed late December, early January 2011. In the beginning of Dec 2011, I noticed some white water spots in front of the fridge, just thought I had spilled some water and hadnt noticed. Came to find out too late, since the warranty is one year from purchase date, that a sheet of ice was forming in the bottom of the freezer compartment (someone else on this site mentioned the same thing) and then slowly melted at the edge of the freezer door and dripping on the new hardwood floors. After pulling the unit out found the floor board under the edge of the door was warped.I spoke to customer service. Their solution was to pay over $300 for a six month warranty since the unit was less than 18 months old, which I did not do. They then set up an appt for a service call through AE Factory Service with a price of $130(any repairs made would be over and above that) for them to come out which would take 2 weeks. After thinking about it, I decided that was a ridiculous price for a service call and decided to cancel it. I called a local appliance repair company and they could have come out that day if I had been home. Price was $35 and that will go toward any repairs that are done. Makes you wonder why the company that KitchenAid refers you to such an expensive repair company. Do they have any interest in that company? Repairman that is coming out tomorrow said he has this particular repair down to a science, obviously having done it numerous times before. After spending over $2,300 for a refrigerator, the last thing I expected was to be having problems in less than a year of use from a company that I had always considered to have quality product and service. But it certainly seems like KitchenAid has gone the way of too many American corporations, that the quality of their products and the consumer is the least of their concerns. I will be mentioning to my contractor, who is very sought after for kitchen remodels in our area, that if his clients are considering any KitchenAid products they should reconsider their choice. Also, to anyone that mentions to me that they are buying a new refrigerator, buyers beware! After reading these other reviews for over an hour I am amazed that a class action lawsuit hasnt been filed yet. When will companies get it that all the consumer wants is value for the dollar spent and good customer service?

We purchased KitchenAid model # KDFE204EWH1, paid $145.00 to have it installed, bought extended warranty and it has never cleaned a dish. We had two technicians out who gave us hints to help, i.e. put more soap in, run your faucet until the water is so hot that you cant touch it because the first rinse in the machine is cold water, use Jet Dry. Ive been using dishwashers for a long time and have never needed technicians to come to the house and instruct me on how to use it. KitchenAid has officially chalked the problem up to owner misuse. This is highly insulting and ridiculous. We even paid our plumber to come and see if the problem could be caused by our plumbing - negative on that. I called the company and was told that if I try another dishwasher detergent, that it might help. Other customers have found it to be very helpful.Give me a break! The machine is a piece of garbage and has never, ever worked. $1,000. of our money has been thrown out the window and we have been treated poorly by this company to say the least. Save your money, do your research and buy something other than a KitchenAid/Whirlpool. We now have to clean our dishes by hand. Horrible machine, horrible company to deal with. They will not send anyone else out to look at the dishwasher unless we pay for it. They have done all they are going to do and dont care that the machine doesnt work. I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDC20CVSS4 in September 2010 to match all my other KitchenAid SS appliances. It will not totally rinse off top rack dishes and glasses of food residue, and as a result, food particles harden on them so bad that I must soak them in the sink to get them cleaned. I had repairmen out periodically since November 2010 to fix the problem. I have been told to run hot water before starting dishwasher, scrape/rinse dishes thoroughly before washing, switch to liquid Cascade from powder or tablets because H20 doesnt get hot enough to dissolve it, and to run dishwasher with 1/2 to 1 cup white vinegar on occasion. Nothing has worked. The bottom line is that we bought an $800.00 lemon with no recourse. Oh yeah, I was also told that new dishwashers are all made the same since the government enforced new Energy Use standards. I think its baloney being sold to me in order not to buy a new dishwasher (which we are considering). KitchenAid knows about the problems with this unit since it is now discontinued and replaced! I wish they would replace my dishwasher and start a class action suit against KitchenAid.

As a retired chef I have preference for gas cooktop but electric oven. We bought our oven in 2008 and paid about $1500. Immediately noticed that every time wed cook it would smoke furiously. Called the place we bought it from and were shunted back and forth between sales and repair people. Then we noticed that it was getting dirty - like super filthy with thick residue everywhere that could not be scrubbed, so decided to use the self-clean setting. I left the house and returned an hour later and the entire house was covered in smoke. Dog was literally choking, and cat had holed up in the basement. Had to open every door and window to ventilate. Called the place, we bought it and got the same run-around.Were not a wealthy family so this oven has been our ONLY oven since we purchased it and its a daily battle. The door has fallen off, the board has been compromised, the stove top is awful to clean and cant keep an even temperature. Every time we use the oven we end up having to open the doors and windows. Total nightmare. Surprised no one has sued KitchenAid since its apparent theyre aware of these issues. Read the reviews online and realized that this was a thing with KitchenAid ovens in particular.

I have had this Electric range KSEG950E for about 2 years and have had major problems with its self-cleaning technology. For starters, it simply doesnt work, even after repeated cycles. Cleaning out the water after the cycle is finished is tiresome. And the side and back panels never come clean. Its nearly impossible to scrub out these areas, as you can only use nonabrasive pads, and the oven is so deep, you cant reach in far enough to clean effectively. Even soil on the reachable areas is a challenge to clean, using only the recommended non-scratch scrubbing sponges and fresh kitchen appliance cleaner (the addition of which is recommended for hard to remove soil).Im not a heavy oven user and have tried to clean oven at the slightest sign of soil build-up. Once more, being 5 7, Id think that reaching around inside the oven to scrub should be easy. But after the lengthy clean-up sessions, I hardly need to go to the gym for exercise! Surfing the net, I see that Im not the only very dissatisfied customer! It may be good publicity to have low-energy cleaning technology. But if it doesnt work well, it cant earn high marks for the company.

Broken adjuster assembly KUDE40FXSS3 - Just under two years old and this is our third problem with this KitchenAid dishwasher. First the electronic locking latch stopped working properly. Then the dishwasher wouldnt drain properly. And now the rolling wheel mechanism of the upper rack (adjuster assembly) is broken. The design of the assembly is poorly done, since it will be under daily attack from soap and hot water and the small plastic parts that hold the wheels eventually break and cause the entire upper rack to fall.

Kitchenaid khms2056sss-2 microwave - Microwave keeps beeping for no reason.
Kitchenaid khms2056sss-2 microwave - Microwave keeps beeping for no reason. Often controls are frozen and cannot be accessed for several minutes. Randomly selects cooking task such as reheating pizza or melting butter with no input from owner. Even after the microwave is unplugged for 5 seconds, it still starts up its beeping without input or any reason. Each time the unit is unplugged, the owner resets the time and date as requested by the screen. The light for the microwave does not go on adequately to see what is cooking. Due to the design, the window is so high that it takes steps to see into the oven.

Warm up time of oven is very slow. The Baking (bottom) heating element lasted a year and is VERY DIFFICULT to replace. The thermostat is inaccurate and fluctuates with different amounts of error at different points in its temperature range. Oven door removal is not straightforward and can be jammed requiring replacement parts for repair.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (model KUDS530IXBL4) for $730 in 2011. By June of 2014, it had to be repaired 3 times and the 4th time the machine wouldnt start, I decided not to fix it anymore. The control panel was faulty and the 3rd time it broke, KitchenAid paid for the replacement control panel but not the labor. When it broke again just 5 months after it was replaced, I decided not to fix it again and buy a new dishwasher (Bosch) and write this letter. The salesman claims that Kitchen Aid knew the control panel was faulty but didnt change it.

I purchased three appliances from KitchenAid - a dishwasher, gas range and a microwave. The microwave died and I had to buy another brand. The dishwasher had to have the panel replaced within a few months of use (fortunately under warranty then). The gas range KAID KSGA906PSS00 has had nothing but problems. The “Gas probe on” message problem is perennial even though I never use it. I have to reset the fuse switch off and mimic the probe as if I was cooking. The control panel died last year and I had to pay $303.45 to get it changed. Now a few months later, the oven does not shut off; I get the Cooking complete message which refuses to go away and I have to reset the fuse switch. Perennial problems - paid a hefty amount on this set of KitchenAid junk. Wish I had chosen another brand.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher broke down after eight months. They replaced the water pump, which took three weeks. Two months later it broke down again. They replace a circuit board and water pump again, but still did not work. They again replaced the third water pump with no luck. The technician thinks it may be a wiring harness so now we are still without a dishwasher and are waiting for that part. By now I am asking for a new dishwasher from KitchenAid but they insist that my warranty only covers parts replacement and will continue to replace parts until they deem it necessary to replace. Dealing with customer service has been a very unpleasant experience. I have vowed that I will never buy another KitchenAid or Whirlpool or Frigidaire appliances again. We are now looking at replacing the dishwasher at our own cost.

We bought this refrigerator from our builder, Pulte Homes in 08/2017. It is model number KRFC604FSS00. Do not buy this or any other Kitchen Aid product. Every single person in our development is having the same problems with their ice makers. Kitchen Aid is owned by Whirlpool. They put you on hold for 45 minutes before they pick up the phone to schedule a warranty person to come out. The service company that they used had to ask me how to turn the ice maker on and off. They are completely inept, its been over a month with a broken product and Whirlpool could care less. So if you want to do yourself a favor, buy a GE... they are a superior product and not absolute crap like Kitchen Aid.
