Purchased new counter top gas stove with vent that comes up behind it. Was installed in December 2014 and vent hasnt worked ever. Local contract repair company has been out 7 times and on the phone with KitchenAid techs and replaced parts and still not working. Last time KitchenAid sent parts but missing a screw on back order and wont be here for another week to 10 days and may still not work. We were told today that if it doesnt work this next time they will send out another contractor to verify that it doesnt work and then may replace unit. We will never buy another one of their products and suggest no one else does. Worst customer service ever! We own 3 homes and will never buy another KitchenAid product. I hope others read this.

Purchased new microwave (KMHS120ESS-2) in April 2016. Heating element failed in March 2017 and was repaired under warranty. Heating element failed again in May 2017. Element was under warranty but labor (greater cost of the two) was not. Believe problem not the element but something else that triggers the failure. Consumer beware of both poor quality of product and failure of the company to properly diagnose the root cause of the problem.

On September 30, 2014 we purchased a Kitchenaide 42 side by side refrigerator, Model # KSSC42QVS06, Serial #K43809168, Sales #5508519 from Pacific Sales in Escondido, CA. When it was delivered there was a dent on the right panel. We were desperate to have the appliance as our other refrigerator had stopped working and we had had several hundred dollars food loss. So, we were told that we would be able to have the door replaced within a reasonable time without a problem and an appointment was made to have a local repair and parts company evaluate the dent and order a replacement door panel. On October 3, 2014 the local repair and parts representative wrote up an order for a new right side door panel. It is now December 28, 2014 and the panel has yet to be replaced! I have contacted the local parts people and have called Whirlpool directly without success. There seems to be no definitive date of replacement available. How can you possibly operate in such a manner and expect repeat business? What has happened to you integrity? Please let me know when we can expect a replacement door panel as soon as possible.

The finish on the liner looks like orange peel and the oven does not cook like it is advertised using the convection oven. I will replace this oven with another manufacturer and I will never purchase another KitchenAid product ever again. Your customer service is terrible. You see the products and dont stand behind them. You hide behind a very limited warranty of 12 months.

We bought a whole suite of KitchenAid large appliances (from Fergusons) for our new home build. We have been very satisfied with the performance of all - UNTIL the dishwasher tore up. It was still under the factory warranty. We called the issue in and there was a local company (American Appliance) that arrived 3 weeks later to repair. They discovered that the heating element of the dishwasher was broken and needed to be replaced. They ordered the part. They said it should arrive in 7-10 business days. After that amount of time, I called to be told that it was on backorder. They didnt have any clue of when the part would be back in stock. Therefore, we started reaching out to KitchenAid directly. We have spent over 6+ hours trying to reach KitchenAid and to speak to their technical department, parts department, warranty group, and finally complaint group. We have been told multiple things - there was a recall on the part (cant confirm that one), the part was out of stock and would not be in stock until after December 30 (totally unacceptable), and that the part was finally now in stock. We were told on July 8 that the part would go out to us on a truck the next day. Apparently that didnt happen. We have been on the phone with KitchenAid complaints again today for over 1.5 hours (more time) to be told that the part has been ordered but has not been pulled and shipped yet and that it would take another 2-3 weeks for that to happen. We made the choice to buy Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) appliances for our new house because they are American made and felt that they would stand behind their products. We are so dissapointed in how this has been handled. We are going to be without our dishwasher for at least 2+ months (and we are a family of 6 people). Our disappointment comes from both the quality of the part but even more importantly the way we have been treated and the repair handled once it tore up. I would not recommend them today. I would be cautious because if you have issues it is not an easy road to travel! Our warranty has not been very effective up to this point.

We bought the dishwasher about 2 months ago, I have had Sears service out to check it out and the tech basically said it was all my fault. The dishwasher doesnt clean, it doesnt dry, you cant interrupt the cycle (add a dish) without starting over. I have to make sure the dishes are spotless before putting them in the washer. Many times the detergent door wont open and when it does the packet just sits in the holder and never gets into the washing area. I feel that I have wasted close to $850.00 which is something I can not afford. I would never buy anything they manufactured again.

Refrigerator Model KSC23C8EYY03 just a year old. Problem with ice forming behind bottom drawer in refrigerator section. Needs a new fan and thermistor. After waiting for parts and then put on the service schedule, the repairman came but had the wrong part. Now, again waiting for the part and to be put on the service schedule. Without a refrigerator for three weeks. Also, the fan is encased in styrofoam held together by tape. No wonder there is a problem. Also the reviews for the repair company sent by KitchenAid were not favorable. I found this out firsthand.Updated on 03/10/2016: In August I had ice built up behind the drawers in the bottom of the refrigerator. KitchenAid replaced the fan and thermistor. Seven months later, same problem. KitchenAid denied any problems with these parts.

Dishwasher model KUDS03CTWH2 - Have had this dishwasher for about 6 to 8 years. It never washed dishes clean from day 1. Had a repair man out twice while it was under warranty. His answer was it is energy efficient. In other words it saves energy but does not wash dishes. I now use Heavy Duty cycle along with Pro Scrub for one wash and first need to soak my dishes and silverware. Much of the silverware does not clean. It cost us $1200.00. I will definitely never buy Kitchen Aid again. We are not happy with our stove or refrigerator which were bought at same time.

After several calls to KitchenAid they sent our service to replace springs, better but not great. They say no remedy for the gurgling. Unbelievable....This is a $9,000 fridge. In 2007, I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator from Pacific Sales. The refrigerator made funny noises when it ran but I put a piece of tile on the interior metalwork and the noise went away. Seven years later in 2014, an alarm went off inside the control board indicating a problem with the evaporator cooler. As it turns out, KitchenAid or Whirlpool used substandard capacitors in their control boards leading to premature failure. Mind you, this is a $6,000 refrigerator. When I contacted KitchenAid, they informed me that the part was no longer available due to a tsunami in Japan. KitchenAid referred me to an aftermarket control board manufacturer that wanted $800 for the part. They said that they used to have the boards repaired but that was no longer an option. After following the instructions on Steve Jenkins blog, I was able to have the board repaired at Rockstar Computers in Upland, California. Total cost of the repair was $55.

Pretty much everything was covered, ad nauseam, in this blog. New house, new appliances - the repairman was here three times because our $7,000 SXS KitchenAid fridge/freezer (Model: Kss048FTX03) was not cooling. The repairman said the first time he was here that he installed the part that would solve the problem. Well, he will be back in 4-5 days with another part. It seems that the wall between the fridge and the freezer builds up ice that prevents cooling in the refrigerator. At least, that is what I am told. I was also told that he is very frequently called out to repair this issue.I mainly bought this product because we wanted to install custom door overlays to match our cabinets and a large unit. Not a lot is available in Hawaii and we were able to order this from Lowes. We are so sorry we did. Im glad that I purchased extended warranties on all appliances and am real glad that only two of them are KitchenAid! We, too, have lost all our food twice, not to mention the hassle of removing everything together with the thaw out and order process for parts. Should we have a class action here? We shall see. Im glad I found this site. My husband is a litigation lawyer with just such experience, so I may be back in touch with everyone when the next repair fails!

Purchased from Lowe’s 9/21/18 and bought 5 year extended warranty through Lowe’s. Kitchen Aid did not supply refrigerator to Lowe’s until 11/15/18 (they said they weren’t ready to manufacture that model until then). I noticed first of August 2019 (8 months after delivery) that the long deli drawer (under the crispers) was not shutting completely on the left side. It stuck out like something stuck behind it. Upon checking, I found a block of ice (maybe 15” long by 5” high) behind the left half of that drawer. It was still under Manufacture warranty and they sent repairman from local appliance repair in 8/6/18.They returned 8/23/19 to repair. I had to empty the refrigerator and freezer 24 hours before and turn it off to allow the ice to melt I was informed. I did this. A pain is in the neck of course to relocate everything. The repair was made. 6 months later, I notice the same issue with left end of drawer not shutting. Sure enough, the same block of ice had returned. Called Lowe’s and they had no record of first incidence because that was MANUFACTURE WARRANTY incidence. Was rudely told this would be the FIRST incidence of such issue now that under Lowe’s extended warranty.I am set for yet another Appliance repair store to be here 2/13/20. So I’m sure they will also tell me to empty it before they return for repair! And my fear is this will be a temporary fix just like last time. I’ll be reporting it again in another 6-9 months and eventually my warranty will expire and I’ll be out the money because I have a LEMON!!! I think Kitchen Aid should replace it. I also would like to know if this issue has occurred often with this model. Maybe I don’t have a lemon, but the whole model manufactured at that time (between Sept 2018-November 2018) are faulty???

The KitchenAid dishwasher I purchased in November 2019 is pretty, and its the quietest one Ive ever had. When its running, its hardly noticeable. But...its simply not good at thoroughly cleaning every dish and utensil, especially for the price point (≈$900), to warrant spending the money on it. Add to this, it is horrible at drying the dishes/utensils. I would not purchase again. I bought a suite of KitchenAid appliances when I got it as part of an entire kitchen remodel. The double-oven, dual fuel range and above-range microwave with vent are fantastic, and the cabinet-depth refrigerator is decent. But whoever designs and then builds KitchenAids dishwashers needs to go back to the drawing board. Next purchase will be a Bosch. Stay away from this model from KitchenAid.

3-1/2 year old dishwasher started failing to clean top rack about 6 months ago. Two days ago it completely stopped working. Repairman stated cant be fixed. Turns out wiring burnt (we did not abuse the product). I was concerned over burnt be charred looking wiring so called KitchenAid. It is out of warranty and was not calling them to replace it but out of concern of defect and a fire. After being put on hold for 10 minutes rep came back on line and suddenly knew all about how that happens to all appliances when the control board fails and suddenly remembered it had happened to her. No big deal attitude that it only lasted 3-1/2 years. Hung up as a never again KitchenAid customer. Wish I had researched the company 4 years ago.

In November of 2010, we had just finished our $18,000 kitchen renovation. Our $2500.00 side-by-side with freezer drawer on the bottom is a beautiful stainless steel. Was delivered and installed by Lowes. That is when the fun began. After about 2 weeks, we noticed that the food in the freezer was soft to the touch but cold. We gathered the children and told them of the importance of making sure the drawer was closed all the way. After several days and several lessons in proper door closing procedure, I noticed that there was never any ice when I wanted a cold drink. I soon came to realize after the food in the top part of the new $2500.00 beauty became room temperature that there might be a problem beyond my children and proper door closing procedure. Then the real adventure began. I called the customer service number in my trusty manual and spoke to one of the clear speaking people in charge of handling such situations. I was told that they would send a repairman to look at the refrigerator and the appointment was scheduled. When asked what to do about all the food in my stainless steel showpiece, I was told that they are not responsible for food loss in this type of situation. Maybe one of your neighbors could store your food for the time being. Yes, maybe I could have a neighbor store food for my family of 5 until I could get my metal closet repaired (midnight trips to get a snack are now more exciting). I then had the pleasure of meeting a repairman who was more than happy to look at my wonderful now skunky-smelling top-of-the-line food storage device. Mr. Repairman started poking and tapping and doing repairman type things. I will need to go through this section by section to try to eliminate possible causes to the problem, Mr. Repairman told me. When I asked what kind of time frame we were looking at, I was told, Minimum of 4 hours to dismantle, however many hours to do the repair once diagnosed and another 4 hours to re-assemble. Great, I said, My new state-of-the-art cold food making contraption will be spread out all over some repair shop for who knows how long?Oh no, said Mr. Repairman, We do it right here in your home. You what?????? You are going to take apart my appliance here, diagnose the problem, order the part, come back when the part comes in, repair it and then re-assemble it ????? Yes. How long are we talking about ???? 7 to 10 days if the parts come in. After a quick dial, I was back on with customer service telling them what I had just been told. Let me call the repair company, please hold. After a brief hold of about 20 to 30 min. I was told to have Mr. Repairman contact his office. When Mr. Repairman was done with his call, he printed out a slip from his little portable printer and told me that his office and KitchenAid determined that the repair was going to cost too much and that the unit should be replaced as totaled. Wow, what a relief. I was now put in contact with a customer service rep to arrange for my nice new right out of the box stainless steel replacement. Within 2 weeks, will have the new one delivered. What? 2 weeks? What am I to do for 2 weeks without a refrigerator? You can rent one until your new one comes, I was told. Anyway after my waiting period and lots of take-out, my new ice box arrives and is installed to numerous cheers from the kiddies. We thanked Mr. Deliveryman who left and we went on with our lives... until about 2 and a half months later. Honey, did you leave the freezer door open? Everything is soft. And there is no ice. Ring, ring. Hello, customer service. How may I help you? After an even more entertaining episode and even more trips from Mr. Repairman who used the term deja vu, it seems like I have been here before (long term memory is not an issue here). Mr. Repairman said that this was common and that a part needed to be replaced. He didnt have the part but it will be ordered. How long are we talking about? 7 to 10 days. Well eventually Mr. Repairman came back and replaced this little rubber part that lets condensation drip onto a pan so that it can evaporate. Problem solved... NOPE!!!!!! Several more visits from Mr. Repairman and several times telling him that yes, he had been here before KitchenAid decided that this unit also was too much to repair and authorized a replacement. And yes, it was going to be another 2 weeks. At this point I said, Hold on. Why would I want this thing replaced a third time? Can I get a different model? No, that is not an option. 2 weeks later, my brand new stainless steel right out of the box replacement replacement food keeper cold thingamagig makes its grand entrance. Mr. Deliveryman who also say it feels like he has been here before installs and again leaves. Wow what a journey. All this just to keep food from going bad even though twice it did. And after all this, I am still sane. I liked the refrigerator when I saw it in the store. It looked beautiful. Now all is going well and we still have our KitchenAid and it looks like everything is finally going to be... Oh wait I forgot to tell you that I just got off the phone with customer service because unit number three is doing the exact same thing. If anyone is interested in a stainless steel boat anchor, please let me know because I have one made by the good people at KitchenAid.

We purchased a KitchenAid wall oven KEBS107SSS in March 2012. This oven does not turn off and just keeps hot air blowing into the kitchen for at least an hour or longer after pushing the off button. The sales person at the high end appliance store we purchased it from said to turn off the power to the oven, which we did as it had a dedicated breaker switch. Then the oven just latched automatically, wouldnt open, and had a nice error message on the screen. Took the repairman over two weeks to get the part to fix the latch as he said that was the problem.... thats why the oven doesnt turn off efficiently??? I cant get anyone from KitchenAid to even answer my phone calls and I truly dont think the repairman has a clue as to why this oven wont turn off. Do not buy a KitchenAid oven. Bought a very nice KitchenAid refrigerator less than a year ago, was one of the better models (KFIS29PBMS00) and today it is repairable but according to the warranty service technician, it would be cheaper to replace it but that will take 5 BUSINESS days. WHAT? Surely that is a joke, this company makes good products and I thought would stand behind their warranty as in replacing something quickly. In 5 Business days when THEY make a decision, all my food will be spoiled ($600 down the drain). If they know they have an issue, and my issue is known, and they determine it is best to replace the appliance, why in HELL does it take 5 business days to make that decision? Obviously there is an issue with this model.Do yourself a favor, find a different brand, or expect any issues that are essentially recalls to take 5 business days to decide upon and who knows how much longer to actually get appliance in house. I have called them 3 times, and no remedy. Just the standard it takes 5 business days to go before a review board... WTF? That is BS. We should have bought the Sub Zero. KitchenAid has gone the way of any other use to be good product. The customer service rep thought it comical that I would get on the social media sites and provide this information. If you are in the habit of spending 3K for a throw away item and like to buy new major products every year, this is the one for you. For the rest of us, run and find something else and make sure the company will actually do as they claim on the warrant in a reasonable time frame. The issue is a known problem with the compressor that causes a leak of refrigerant over time. The company has determined it is cheaper for them to replace the product rather than fix it with proper materials. Yet, they take 5 business days to make this determination? If it is a known issue with all the same error codes and profiles of the same problem, the right thing to do is to apologize to the customer and ask them when they are available to receive the replacement. Now I am out $600+ on food.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator with French doors and a bottom freeze
I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator with French doors and a bottom freezer compartment for about $2,600 in July of 2013. By mid-2016, we began to experience problems with the refrigerator. There was water leaking onto the floor after water had filled the tray at the bottom of the refrigerator and had frozen. A certified KitchenAid repair person replaced the defective part. The repair person was very familiar with the problem as the company had replaced quite a number of these. KitchenAid supplied the part free of charge because of the frequency of this problem. There was a service charge of $125.00 and a labor charge of $89.00, bringing the total to $214.00. Within two months, we had another problem, this one with the ice maker. The KitchenAid recommended company sent its technician out again. This time the bill totaled $335-$125 service, $129 labor, $75 new ice maker, and $6.37 tax. We had given the service provider the exact make, model, and description of the problem. Again, they were very familiar with the problem, but sent a technician out who did not have the part on the truck! He is scheduled to return after the weekend. Frankly, after reading others reviews on this site, I have to agree that I would not buy a KitchenAid product again. Why should anybody be shelling out over $500 for parts and labor on a three year old, high end, appliance? Our last KitchenAid refrigerator, which we left at our former residence, was 17 years old and had never required service of any kind. KitchenAid is apparently not interested in providing a quality product, though were paying for one and, according to the reviews on this site, KitchenAid is not interested in providing good customer service. Im frustrated with this refrigerator, which never produced ice as well as my old KitchenAid. Im frustrated with the certified KitchenAid repair company, and Im not willing to become frustrated by contacting customer service because all these reviews have all made it clear that it would be a waste of my time.

I had the same experience as others on this site when I tried to get the extended warranty repairman to fix the freezer that quit cooling. After replacing the evaporator fan motor, he determined that the HV Board #2252159 needed to be replaced. This control board is no longer stocked by Kitchen Aid and the board has to be removed and sent to a company to rebuild it, which takes several weeks. I will have been without a refrigerator for 3-4 weeks and Kitchen Aid will give no explanation or apology for not finding another company to manufacture the control boards needed to keep their 8-year-old refrigerator operating. The attitude of the Kitchen Aid customer service is that there is nothing they can do about the lack of replacement parts and they see no reason why they should be concerned about their inability to fulfill the extended warranty that they sold me. Do not buy any Kitchen Aid or Whirlpool product. The company has no regard for its customers or the reputation of their products.

Called about cracks on inside of door. Two horizontal cracks the largest about 10 long. They told me needed to have a service rep come out. Cost 99.99. I find out this is a common problem with KitchenAid refrigerators and is not covered by any warranty even an extended warranty would have expired in my case (6yrs). The repair is tape and screws or door replacement. This is obviously poor manufacturing that KitchenAid refuses to acknowledge. Shame on them.

I purchased KUDC20CVSS dishwasher. After 9 months of service, it started making a horrendous noise. I had warranty service in several times and they could not determine the cause. Now, since its off warranty, and despite never fixing the issue while on warranty, KitchenAid wants me to still pay any labor. This tells me that there was purposeful delay to wait for the device to be off warranty.

We purchased a Kitchenaid model KUDS301XBL4 dishwasher about 2 years ago. It appears that the plastic inside the tub is deteriorating and the pegs that hold the rollers for the top rack have broken. I have found this is a common complaint among Kitchenaid dishwasher owners. The parts cost for the repair is about $28 per side plus shipping costs. I did send an e-mail to Kitchenaid explaining the problem and asking them what their solution is regarding the defective parts. No reply at this time. I dont expect them to acknowledge defects or offer a solution based on other complaints I have read . So, I took to finding a solution myself.I examined the mechanism and figured out how it works and had an idea that if I could find the right nylon and stainless steel parts at my hardware store, I could re-install the rollers on a different spot on the sides of the rack. I found all the parts for the four rollers for a total of $7.89 and proceeded with installing them. I had to use a Dremel tool to cut the broken roller pegs off and sand a small plastic ridge flat. I drilled holes and assembled my parts and attached them successfully to each side of the rack (see picture). For each roller, I used a stainless steel screw, washer and lock nut along with a nylon finish washer and a nylon bushing. It works great! It is too bad that Kitchenaid wont stand behind their product, as evident in other, similar complaints. I am not an engineer, but I engineered a solution in one-hour that will last longer than the rest of the original plastic parts in the tub.

Our side by side (high end) refrigerator stopped working. We called out a reputable service company and after trouble shooting, he determined the main power board was the problem. He traced it down to a built in relay(?). It was a part that could not be replaced. He needed to send it into KitchenAid to be repaired or replaced. In the mean time, the service man found a used one. A couple of weeks later the power board was returned by KitchenAid. The replacement part was no longer available nor were they repairing them! The used power board has a glitch which doesnt show the temp of the fridge on the control panel. At least it is working. My repair man is trying to locate another power board for us as a back up. It has now been 2 months and he hasnt found another power board. You have got to be kidding me. How can KitchenAid get away with this?

We bought a KA fridge KSF26C7XYY04 with an extended warranty service plan. Thank goodness! We have had 3 service calls in a 6 month period. The fridge is only 2 years old. The evaporator and ice dispenser motor had to be replaced. I just called again because once again the freezer is not working. I have thrown out food 3 times now. I have a 5-hour service repair window every time the company that services the warranty comes out. Last time the part took so long to come in that I waited for almost 4 weeks to get my fridge fixed. This purchase has been a total nightmare! If we did not have the warranty, KA would not even talk to me. There is zero customer service. I was actually told today that with the internet I should have done my homework by their own customer service! That says it all. Sad state of affairs. I will never buy a KA appliance ever again. Once the warranty runs out and I cant get them to continue to fix this fridge, I will take the loss and buy a new non-KA fridge. This company completely sucks. All 3 drawers on the fridge side are broken. Same issue where the face of the drawer has come off. I had one drawer replaced which broke again. KA wont stand behind their poorly made product. They want me to buy them for $125/drawer. I refuse to spend any more money on this piece of poorly made appliance. I duct tape them! SO sad.

This is the first time I am taking out the time to write a review in hopes
This is the first time I am taking out the time to write a review in hopes I can save people from making the bad choice of choosing KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. We have experienced several problems with several of their appliances but by far the worst is with our 42 side by side built in fridge (over $6,000.) Our first unit had so many problems within two years that Whirlpool finally replaced the unit. This was not easy but with good documentation, photos and me just not backing down, they finally did the right thing. We received the new unit on 12/3/08 (so only 4 years ago) and the icemaker which never really worked well is now broken and caused a lot of damage to our kitchen wood floor.Water dripped down through the bottom of the freezer door onto our hardwood floor. Unfortunately, water can do a lot of damage fast. After another frustrating experience with their customer service department, I finally got an appointment with a repair service. I wont even get into the details of that frustrating experience. Well, the ice making unit cannot be replaced because of insulation in the fridge door and we would have to purchase a brand new door. This would cost about $1,400 to replace and take 6 weeks to order the new door. Never mind the expense of replacing the hardwood floors. The Whirlpool Company could not care less. The door is rusted at the bottom, so this went on for a while but we did not notice it until it got really bad and the water started puddling in front of the fridge. Also just two weeks ago, we had work done on our 4 year old Whirlpool washing machine ($350 repair cost) and now it is starting to act up again. I assume that I will have to replace it soon since I am not willing to put any more money into it. These appliances are poorly built and dont represent the quality product they once were. I hope I was able to save someone out there from making the mistake of investing in any Whirlpool (or any of the other lines built by them) large appliance.

We purchased a stainless steel KitchenAid bottom freezer refrigerator in September 2013. It was fine for a year, but suddenly the PO sign showed up on display board and nothing has been right since then. Upon calling Whirlpool (30 minutes on phone) they suggested we call the repair companies listed on their website. First company we called was Diamond Repair and that guy fiddled around and since he could not figure out the problem, told us that the fault was with the outlet in our brand new built house! Ok, so we called the builder and they looked at it and declared it fine but changed it to a brand new one. Problem continued with the constant beeping and PO symbol on. Then I called Maytag company to look at it and that has been a nightmare. After the first tech left, our water dispenser that was working fine till then, stopped dispensing. They said that maybe it was a coincident that it failed and their tech was not at fault. What!!! They are simply unhelpful. Their techs come out and between the two visits they have changed each and every circuit board, to no avail. Much to our chagrin, whenever I call Whirlpool customer service center, and speak to a manager, they make me repeat the problem, promise me that they will call back and I never hear from them!! One time they supposedly ordered new door for this fridge, but the tech from May-tag came with new circuit boards and did know anything about any door being ordered. I wash my hands off Whirlpool company. The fridge was clearly a lemon. In all the years of owning several refrigerators, this has by far been the worst fridge we have owned but the Whirlpool customer service has been pathetic, to say the least. I will make sure none of my next appliance is even partly owned by Whirlpool!

My built-in microwave (KBMS1454SSS) stopped working properly while still under warranty. On advice from the KitchenAid customer service department, I took the microwave to the local factory authorized service center where I spent $234.85. I took the microwave back home and reinstalled it, but it still didnt work. I took it back to the local factory authorized service center and, after eight days, he told me there was nothing more he could do.I called the KitchenAid customer service department again, and they said my only option was to get a second opinion which, of course, I had to pay for. They sent A&E factory Service to my house ($128 for a service call) and the technician ordered a part, came out two weeks later to install it, and that part did not fix the problem. After six visits (each of which I had to take off work and wait at my home for the repairman), the technician finally deemed my microwave unrepairable. He put that in writing and instructed me to contact KitchenAid for a replacement unit. One month, twenty phone calls, numerous promises of call-backs, and several supervisors later, KitchenAid offered to replace my microwave (they called it a pro-rated exchange) for $990. I explained that I had already spent $400 to repair the $1100 unit that I had, and that an additional $990 hardly seemed fair to replace a high-end unit that did not work. They agreed to drop the pro-rated exchange price to $468. I told them that us unacceptable and they said, Were sorry, thats all we are prepared to do.This is a very attractive unit and I thought I was getting the best when I bought KitchenAid, but after this five month-long process of trying to get my problem solved, I could not be more dissatisfied with the KitchenAid customer service department.

I am sick to my stomach... Just redid my entire kitchen in KitchenAid products thinking they were a good investment. The built-in wall oven is the WORST. I have used it once, for one batch of cookies - 350 degrees, bake time - 10 minutes. The first sign of trouble was how loud the oven was when cooking, seriously annoying. I figured I could get used to that, thinking it was just new technology at work. Was I ever wrong. The fan (and it is loud) has continued for an hour... As I write this, it is still as loud as can be. And we are talking only 10 minutes of cook time at 350 degrees! I am so bummed I cant stand it. I have never written a review for anything in my life, but because I know that I am going to have absolutely no recourse on this (I can hear it now... But there isnt anything wrong with the oven), Id like to prevent someone else from making the same mistake.

We purchased KitchenAid model # KDFE204EWH1, paid $145.00 to have it installed, bought extended warranty and it has never cleaned a dish. We had two technicians out who gave us hints to help, i.e. put more soap in, run your faucet until the water is so hot that you cant touch it because the first rinse in the machine is cold water, use Jet Dry. Ive been using dishwashers for a long time and have never needed technicians to come to the house and instruct me on how to use it. KitchenAid has officially chalked the problem up to owner misuse. This is highly insulting and ridiculous. We even paid our plumber to come and see if the problem could be caused by our plumbing - negative on that. I called the company and was told that if I try another dishwasher detergent, that it might help. Other customers have found it to be very helpful.Give me a break! The machine is a piece of garbage and has never, ever worked. $1,000. of our money has been thrown out the window and we have been treated poorly by this company to say the least. Save your money, do your research and buy something other than a KitchenAid/Whirlpool. We now have to clean our dishes by hand. Horrible machine, horrible company to deal with. They will not send anyone else out to look at the dishwasher unless we pay for it. They have done all they are going to do and dont care that the machine doesnt work. Frustrated and disappointed with KitchenAid regarding refrigerator model number KSC23C8EYY03 bought new in October 2014. Purchased refrigerator in October 2014 for residential use. In May 2016, owners observed ice accumulation behind the crisper drawers of the refrigerator. Items in fridge were not being cooled to appropriate temperature and freezer cold but not adequately freezing contents. Not under warranty at that time, owners called a local service company to review situation and a part was replaced.Owner then purchases a warranty, which was enacted in September 2016 when the same issue presented itself. Since then KitchenAid warranty has been called - February 2017, July 2017, October 2017, February 2018 and now April 26, 2018 - all for the same issue. The refrigerator is essentially inoperable during each service request every 2-5 months, resulting in food spoilage and loss of money. Owners are aware of the Lemon Law, however, there is no recognition on KitchenAid Warranty’s part on customer frustration regarding the investment of money into a product that has simply proven 6 times over that it does not work. It wasn’t until speaking with a KitchenAid Warranty supervisor today (April 2018) that owner was informed about the option of filing a food loss claim (again, after dealing with KitchenAid Warranty 5 times since September 2016). We again are having the refrigerator serviced, with the expectation that any repair would prove fruitless, a part will be replaced that won’t get us closer to a Lemon Law review, and resulting in a temporary fix that would need to again be serviced in 3 months time. The service repair technician who has serviced the unit all 6 times is equally frustrated that the solutions given to them by KitchenAid Warranty does not fully resolve the situation.

In June, 2009, I did a complete kitchen remodel and installed all-KitchenAid appliances, including a side-by-side refrigerator model KSCS25MVMS which cost almost $2,500. I purchased a five-year extended warranty on all the appliances which, unfortunately, has now expired. I recently noticed water damage to the base of the cabinet surrounding the refrigerator and to the hardwood floor. I had an appliance repairman out and he determined that the water leak was the result of a crack in the evaporator drip pan under the refrigerator. He said he would order a replacement pan. A couple of days later he called to inform me that this part was no longer available. He said he could attempt to repair it, with no guaranty that the repair would be successful, or I could buy a new refrigerator. I think it is outrageous that a $2,500 6-year old refrigerator (which is otherwise working fine) is now rendered unusable because of the failure of a cheap plastic part that KitchenAid has discontinued. It sounds like KitchenAid is discontinuing parts availability in order to force people to buy new products. Well, all I can say is, if I end up having to buy a new refrigerator, it will most definitely NOT be a KitchenAid!!!

KitchenAid Refrigerator/Freezer, Model: KFFS20EYWH00 - Purchased in 2012, this model has double doors and a freezer drawer below. The gaskets on the doors include, at the lower inside edge, a flange. I dont know its purpose. In this instance, the flange on the right-hand door became torn simply from opening and closing the doors. We contacted a repair person, who collected the $95 price and ordered from KitchenAid a new gasket, but KitchenAid no longer offers it in white (like the original) so we had to accept grey. When it arrived he came to install it. It was about 1/4 inch too short in the length. We thought it was his error. We researched and found the gasket online, but also talked to a KitchenAid rep who agreed wed found the right one, so we ordered it. It came; it was exactly like the one ordered by the repairman- just a little too short. We returned it, with a letter (one copy sent with the return, the other mailed directly). We have heard NOTHING from KitchenAid. Thought Id share my KitchenAid experience. I purchased a refrigerator (KFIS29P), dishwasher (HUDS35FX), range (KGRS206) and microwave (KHMC185) on August 30, 2012. The first time we used the oven, an F30 error code popped up and it shut off. It came back on and would do this intermittently thereafter. I then tried out the new dishwasher and found that it didnt clean any better than the cheap one I replaced. On to the refrigerator, I noticed the seal between the door and icemaker was constantly wet and dripping water next to the ice bucket, freezing it in place. So after my first week with my new appliance set, I had to call service, something I didnt have to do for 15 years prior with my old appliances. One tech couldnt handle the different appliances, so separate appointments were needed for each individual unit. The repairman told me the dishwasher was fine, but unfortunately, the new dishwasher just doesnt clean as well as the older ones. It would have been nice to know this before spending $1,000 for an inferior unit. My friends Bosch dishwasher doesnt seem to have this substandard cleaning issue. Then Im told the refrigerator seal appears okay and it is probably due to the weather? Thats a new one. Not happy with this explanation and the constant need to dry the inside of the refrigerator. Another serviceman came out. He advised the seal was bad and a new icemaker door was needed. At that time, it was also noticed that the ice bucket was starting to rust in the bottom. A replacement was also ordered. The refrigerator issue is still being dealt with, while I even saw the outside stainless near the water/ice dispenser was starting to get a little surface rust. The range is requiring a new sensor and complete electronic panel to get it running properly. The microwave has been the only thing that has worked without issues, though when I bought the set, I was told it was all made in the USA. However, the microwave says Made in China. Maybe thats a good thing. The way Im asked every time I call about getting an extended warranty, its obvious its very much needed with the lacking quality of these appliances. My wife was so happy getting her new stainless appliance set, and I was happy about buying what I thought was a quality name - KitchenAid. We were both let down. So many problems in the first month of ownership, Im definitely concerned for the future. Paying over $5,000 for the set and now being practically forced to purchase an extended warranty to try to get a full life from them is disappointing. Im sorry to say I cant recommend KitchenAid to anyone nor would I likely purchase this brand in the future.

Our KitchenAid built-in electric/convection oven started a fire and burnt a turkey to a crisp because I made the oh-so-unthinkable mistake of basting it during cooking. The repairman came out and said its normal for the broiler to come on during the cooking cycle if the oven temperature falls, but I cant see how any appliance manufacturer can think this is a good idea. Aside from the fact that this feature makes conventional roasting and other types of cooking impossible, more critically, it represents a serious design flaw that makes the oven a fire hazard. I have contacted the CEO of Whirlpool about this hazard but I do not expect any satisfaction given the response KitchenAid had when a cheap relay on our 13-month-old refrigerator failed causing the temperature to rise and all the food within to spoil. They simply told us that since the fridge was one month past the warranty, it wasnt their problem. How can they justify making appliances that have the potential to harm people?

We remodeled our Kitchen and we bought a new oven, microwave, dishwasher, warmer all KitchenAid appliances. First time we heated up the oven to 350 degrees, it heated up to over 500 degree and burnt the bottom of the oven. The temperature settings are very off and wrong, everything we cook we have to use set it very low to get it to cook properly. Dishwasher does not clean correctly and it was leaking, they did come in and adjust it. It kind of works now. The Microwave has been repaired twice in the first year, and this model cost $1000. The warmer works fine.I will never buy anything KitchenAid ever again. We have had nothing but 3 years of issues, and the customer service repair guy did not have a clue on how to fix any of these appliances so he just keeps ordering parts and wasting our time for this $1000 microwave. Really disappointed in KitchenAid. They are the worst and most terrible customer service team. They never offered to replace any of the appliances and when we unpacked the microwave it had a ding in the front of it.

The oven was set on self clean - something that is a feature on the oven... and it got so hot that it melted the computer panel that sits between the microwave and oven. I was unable to unlock the oven - the latch was completely bent from the heat. The repair company came out with a new latch but when they saw the damage they said the oven is reparable. KitchenAid completely washed their hands and told me there was nothing they would do. Their words The self cleaning can surpass 500 degrees and can melt this area. So I ask you... then why put that feature into the system if it is going to ruin the oven? Incredible.

Tall side by side with brushed stainless finish and separate water and ice dispensers tall enough for glassware. Finish shows fingerprints and other marks, but cleans off ok. The top basket of my 2011 KitchenAid dishwasher has begun to fall onto the dishes below. I called the manufacturer but was told that despite the wording in the instruction manuals warranty section, Second Through Fifth Year on Certain Component Parts, the problem was not covered, this despite the specific inclusion of nylon dish racks and electronic controls. I also purchased an extended five year warranty from H.H. Gregg for $149.99 but they too refuse to honor it. In other words I bought a defective product which the manufacturer refuses to stand behind while the retailer ripped me off for an additional 150 bucks. Needless to say Ill never buy from either company again.

Whirlpool owns KitchenAid. BUYER BEWARE!! The dishwasher does a good job but God help you if you ever need to use the warranty. Mine has a door leak. The repairman came out 5 times and replaced the tub twice, the door liner, the door, the hinges and the latching mechanism. There is still a 50/50 chance it will leak depending on how hard you slam the door and I do mean SLAM. They have taken up almost 15 hours of my time. The warranty says they will repair or replace the washer. THEY WILL NOT. You are dealing with dishonest people with no integrity. They are like an insurance company and they will do whatever they can to wear you down and not honor their obligations. Do yourself a favor. When looking at products, pass up the KitchenAid items.

We purchased a KUDE40FXWH dishwasher in March of 2011. The top rack glides kept popping open letting the rack fall off. This probably was linked to binding due to breakage of the plastic pins that connect the glide wheels on the glide bracket. Three months out of warranty, the wheels on one side fall into the bottom of the dishwasher. Both sides have now been replaced for $250. The service technician said this is not isolated and they encounter this on these models. We called Whirlpool/KitchenAid and they politely noted the problems. But once they had the information, they made it very clear that they are unwilling to supply anything at their cost to correct our problem with their equipment. They are glad to have the info for engineering future equipment but are calculatingly unmoved about the predicaments of people who have bought their products to date. We paid for a higher end dishwasher to get reliability and service. KitchenAid is not worth the premium. I could just as well have bought a bargain brand and the repairs wouldnt have been any more than the glitzy one.

I have recently and angrily blogged about my KitchenAid dishwasher as well as the other appliances. That wasnt the only issue with the dishwasher either. The springs on both the dishwasher and the microwave broke leaving the doors to open precariously. My husband was able to fix the dishwasher with a $5 piece of plastic, yes, thats right, plastic piece that fit on the pulley system that opens the door properly. Of course, that would have been a $100 operation had we had a repairman do it. Where is our Consumer Ombudsman?

I thought, for that kind of $$, the KA DW would clean better and last longer than my moms $300 Kenmore. But the KA has never cleaned well, even with top-line Cascade products. This week, it would start but not complete a cycle. Nothing in the manual about this. Called customer service. Took them 20 minutes to tell me they have no troubleshooting advice for this problem. My only option was to pay for a service call and the machine is just 3 months out of warranty! I told the lady that I would be writing many uncomplimentary reviews. So dissatisfied with my Whisper Quiet + dishwasher that I sought out this forum to warn others not to purchase a Kitchenaid. We have owned this dishwasher for quite some time, and while it has been relatively trouble-free with regard to repair issues... it does not clean dishes! The ancient, used dishwasher previously owned offered far superior cleansing than this model EVER has. Tonight we are again pulling dishes from the machine to hand wash them, and this has been the norm since its installation. Such a disappointment... we used to think Kitchenaid products were high quality. I own 2 mixers which are great. This dishwasher is terrible (as was a pricey Kitchenaid blender we subsequently gave away). We have followed all recommendations offered for best operation to no avail. If I could afford to replace this model... I would in a heartbeat (widowed). Another deficiency is the long run time. A washing cycle takes well over an hour, and afterward most of the contents still require hand washing. Needless to say, when I can replace this machine it will not be with a Kitchenaid.

My wife just noticed now on December 25, 2017 that the top of the oven door and around the controls the white paint is turning Brown?!? I havent hardly used the oven but a half dozen times, a couple of pizzas and the turkey on Thanksgiving. We noticed on day one the stove top was more than just hot to the touch on Thanksgiving...more like untouchable!!! I will check the temperature now to see how hot it is getting. My guess is if it isnt a design defect, there may be some insulation missing in the door and or around the front of the stove top... Im not taking it apart to see why... This is more than disappointing. I will contact the manufacturer and the distributor ABT tomorrow to see what they will do. I have never seen anything like this before, this is the 3rd oven I have owned in my life, and never had this issue. I will post the receipt tomorrow if it lets me append this.

Model # KUDL021RBS4 - As two retired old folks, we use a lot of paper plates and have used our expensive all stainless dishwasher no more than three times a month. It was purchased from Lowes 2007. I build computer up from parts. Ill change out the part from Whirlpool. The washer worked once and the lights started flashing again. Washer wont run. The internet chat line person knew nothing about that. He sent me a copy of what was included with the owners manual that doesnt reflect the actual model. Question is, do I waste another $250 with further service calls and parts or do I buy a disposable one for only $247 and give up on those pretty premium expensive disposable appliances? We have had a KitchenAid dishwasher (model # KUDI01FLBL3) for over six years now. We purchased this dishwasher so we could mount a cabinet panel on the front to match the kitchen cabinets. After just one year, the plastic parts in the door spring assembly broke and the door came crashing down. Customer service told me that the parts would not be under warranty. After several hours of talking to different departments, I finally received the parts at no cost. Less than two years later, the same parts broke again and the door came crashing down. I talked to several technicians at KitchenAid stating that this was a design flaw. They said it was more than likely due to the panel I had installed on the front of the dishwasher being too heavy. I removed it and took it back to the cabinet shop. It was one pound under the recommended weight. I paid $100 to remove another two pounds of wood from it before reinstalling it along with new plastic door parts (which I had to pay for this time). The same parts have broken two more times in the past three years. I have had the cabinet company install removable panels in the cabinets on both sides of the dishwasher for easier access to replace the broken plastic parts. Now, the door latch will not hold the door closed. I called customer service for replacement parts. It was going to be over $100 for parts and shipping! They stated that there was nothing wrong with the original design but they now have redesigned the original parts. This was the same story I got for the plastic door spring assembly parts! Between the door parts, cabinet work and now the latch, Im now going to buy another dishwasher. It will not be a KitchenAid ever!

Model #KRFF707ESS01 Seriel#K63621163 - In March of 2017 we remodeled our kitchen. We purchased KitchenAid appliances due to the new industrial type of handles. As soon as we hooked up the fridge the water/ice dispenser was not working. When you would press the ice water would come out. We placed a call to warranty, they came out and could not find the part - about 3 weeks later they show up and replace the front panel with an older style front panel as the part on my fridge was too new. Then around a month later, the fridge starts making a horrible noise, we call. A company by the name of GGSL Appliance Repair (in Orange County California) comes out, the guy was very rude and you could tell he did not want to be there. He tells us we need to order our own part. He stated if he ordered the part it would take up to three weeks to get it in. We do as asked and order the part, it arrived the next day. Once the part arrived we could get a hold of no one to install the part. They were ignoring all of our calls. (In the meantime KitchenAid is aware of this. We kept calling them as well.) Finally the part is put in place. Then within a couple weeks the fridge will not hold temperature, the fridge is sitting at 60 degrees. Anyone who knows anything about food handling knows that bacteria grows if a fridge runs anything over 39-40. I have to throw away tons of food and meat including my condiments. I call KitchenAid complain my $3000 brand new fridge has broken THREE times now and they tell me someone will come out the next day. The company they then hired called and said, No. I am sorry we cannot come until Monday (even though my fridge is at 60 degrees). That day I call KitchenAid/Whirlpool and get an email to a clevland_resources@whirlpool.com. I email him as well as show him all my notes and receipt for the purchase of the part that should have been covered under warranty that was on 09/06/17 and he has not responded. The fridge repair people were at my house today and still not fridge (have to order the part). I asked how long they said they do not know because they need approval from warranty to order the part. My fridge is obviously a lemon at 3K and they dont care to do anything about it. I am beyond frustrated and want to warn others about the products and services they offer. I would have never bought this product had I known the outcome. Poor products, poor customer service.

We purchased two kitchenful of appliances, one was the Pro Series. Within a few months, the enamel on the KEBS208SSS top oven began to pit and chip away. KitchenAid sent out a new oven. We were happy. We should have known that this could potentially happen again. Meanwhile, the microwave computer board went out after the warranty date and it would have cost nearly as much as a new one to fix. The hood over the range has had issues with needing replacement bulbs, only to find out that this time the fuse connector was burnt. Too bad the warranty period is over and good luck, said the KA agent.Last week, I noticed that my replacement oven was showing pitting and wearing away of enamel once again (blue enamel). The KA agent was kind enough to tell me I was probably using it wrong and that I was supposed to clean up the large spills before running the cleaning cycle. I might add that a piece of the foil I used to line the rack for the large spills fell to the bottom of the oven and is now permanently attached to the enamel. I have not used the cleaning cycle in fear it will cause more damage. Again, the agent told us theres nothing KA can do and maybe search for an enamel repair kit and good luck with getting it resolved. I am shocked by KAs attitude and lack of support.

We purchased the KitchenAid KEBS109 Single Oven, in-counter unit for our new kitchen five months ago. Why, I have no idea now. It was installed and worked up until this weekend where it now is a dead brick. All power was verified but nothing on the control panel. We called KitchenAid/Whirlpool for warranty service and they scheduled service for this afternoon between 1-5. No one showed. Note: I took the afternoon off to meet the technician. We called multiple times to find when they would be arriving and the same response was given to us each time - the tech will call 30 minutes before he arrives. We called tonight and spoke to a supervisor who tried to get us to take another day off. In all my life I have never had a company tell me, in their words, to stick it until today. But if I do find that (per the other complaints I have read) this repair will cost significant money I will have no choice but have this oven removed and I will personally drop it off at the front steps of the dealership with a note that they can..., but first take a sledge hammer to it.

We purchased the top of the line in the KitchenAid dishwasher - KUDS301VBL3. This was the second KitchenAid dishwasher that I had owned. The first one I purchased was a workhorse. No problems, just got old and wasnt worth fixing. So I updated my kitchen and bought the new top of the line model. I am now waiting for a repairman to show up to fix the door that keeps breaking. This is the second time. There is something in the door that keeps slipping off and causes the door to slam down hard when it opened. I have a 16-month-old granddaughter who could easily pull on the door and suffer an injury if this door fell on her. I have called KitchenAid and left messages and so far have not been contacted by anyone. I had no idea that the quality of the KitchenAid appliances had hit such a low standard. This is the second time that this door thing has happened, so there must be a problem and KitchenAid needs to take responsibility and fix it before they have a lawsuit on their hands where a child has gotten hurt by this door malfunction. I am going to complain to all the consumer and product safety organizations that I can find on the internet.

As has been noted in other reviews, KitchenAid has issues with the ice makers not functioning correctly and prematurely breaking. Not even three years into owning the refrigerator, the ice maker has now completely burned up. Brought the issue to KitchenAid/Whirlpools attention and they just dodged questions about the issue being a known issue and inquiries if there have been other reports of the problem (which there obviously have been, as one can see clearly in the reviews). Instead, they tried to get us to contact the seller and ask them to cover the repair. $2400.00 for a refrigerator is not cheap... We wont be buying KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, Jenn-Air, or any other brand under the Whirlpool umbrella after this experience. (We have several KitchenAid appliances, as we used to think they were a good company.)

Had a new KitchenAid dishwasher installed a little over 5 years ago. Notice
Had a new KitchenAid dishwasher installed a little over 5 years ago. Noticed about 6 months ago that the top racked dishes were not getting cleaned. Then about 2 months ago noticed the bottom rack is starting to rust out. Called KitchenAid customer service today 6/23/15, gave them the model number and was told that it was just over 5 years old and it only comes with a 5-year warranty and they would NOT do anything (including discount parts) to correct this. Needless to say I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING from this company again. I will be going out of my way to review this company whenever given a chance.

Bought this refrigerator 6/13/12 after home power surge destroyed our other KitchenAid refrigerator Model KSC23C8EYY. We were very happy with the first one so decided to buy another, counter depth side by side. We had no problem the first year but shortly after the warranty expired, had an issue with hose connecting to freezer. After they realized it was a faulty part on the hose, they covered it. We have a wood floor in our kitchen so that also needed to be repaired. Thankfully, I decided to purchase the 5 year Extended Service Plan. We have used it three times, so far. We discovered water accumulating in bottom portion of the refrigerator and called service plan. In April, 2017, had the drain unclogged in fresh food side. Today I pulled out bottom drawer to find the same thing happening. It also had a lot of black mold on side of drawers and refrigerator. (I took lots of pictures). I set up appointment to have repair service come out to fix clog and also to check on why mold is appearing (probably related). Extended Service plan seems very responsive so I would recommend purchasing it.

We purchased all KitchenAid appliances for our new house two and a half yea
We purchased all KitchenAid appliances for our new house two and a half years ago. I thought by spending twice as much on American made products I would be all set for quite some time. The stove started by making HORRIBLE noise. When I would call kitchen aid they said it was normal. My husband was able to fix it. The fan was hitting on something. Then the refrigerator stopped cooling and making ice. We had a service call and were told it was totally iced up. We had to defrost the refrigerator for 4 days, and keep putting towels to sop up the water coming out of the bottom. Now 3 months later the same thing has happened, no ice and not cooling. Also the dishwasher stopped closing, the rack had pieces that had broken. We spent about $75 in parts. Never had these problems with Samsung. I cant believe after spending over $6,000 on 3 appliances that they lasted 2 years. DONT BUY KITCHENAID.

Terrible service, terrible appliance, bought the Kitchenaid French Door Sta
Terrible service, terrible appliance, bought the Kitchenaid French Door Stainless steel fridge. Initially doors rusted, blamed us, replaced one door then stated if it happened again it was due to our climate??? Both doors are now rusted and it constantly leaks. Repair man said typical of this fridge due to cooling system. He suggested defrosting and keeping fingers crossed. Great philosophy! Now the ice maker no longer works and it leaks out the front every 3-4 days as the cooling system ices up. Called Sears, called manufacture, no one is interested now that the item is purchased. Worst appliance ever purchased.
