We bought same KitchenAid model that we purchased 8 years ago. This one no longer has roller drawers and freezer opens with a clunk. More expensive but made cheaply. And, customer service at KitchenAid was terrible. Hands off approach. I will never buy KitchenAid again. We bought during Covid so couldn’t see and touch the new model. It’s 4 days old and they won’t replace.... even for the higher priced model!

Within the first year, the interior shell began developing cracks. It took hours on the phone to get a satisfactory response from the company. Its been about 7 years now, and the repairman said ...it would cost close to $1,000 to fix, and that it isnt worth it since it will likely break again. Because they always do. I spent a pretty penny on KitchenAid because I was told they are top of the line. Well, I feel cheated out of $2,000.... I have to throw this refrigerator away that literally looks brand new!!! It is absolutely gorgeous, and having to wheel it to the curb is a gross obscenity!

I was a builder in Atlanta for 30 years and used KitchenAid in my homes many times. I installed a high-end side by side just under 2 years ago in my personal home and it suddenly started forming ice. When the technician came he took apart the panel with the cooling element and found the sealer wire which was installed crimped had destroyed the thermistor which regulates the fridge. When I called KitchenAid their answer was over time, which could be anywhere from a week to years the parts or the way it was put together could break down. Really? I never would have used KitchenAid if I knew they weren’t responsible for the correct installation of original parts. It cost $325 to fix.

I purchased this french door refrigerator with a water dispenser inside the refrigerator 6 months ago. The first problem was the gasket around the freezer was not sealing so there was ice buildup in the freezer. The next problem was the door hinge was not installed correctly so the refrigerator doors were not sealing. Now there is water dripping between the 2 doors. Whirlpool purchased KitchenAid & I have heard the KitchenAid quality has since decreased. I believe the product should work. 3 problems with a brand new refrigerator tells me something else will most likely break. Im disgusted that Whirlpool wont just replace this defective refrigerator. If I wanted to take a chance on the refrigerator breaking, I would have bought used.

Second visit already by tech. Said it needs new motherboard for 4 year-old fridge (never had problem with old fridge!). Had to throw at least $100 worth of food. Got new motherboard, STILL NOT COOLING. Now fridge SMELLS. Im getting sick and tired of this stuff. Did I buy a piece of crap? Oh, BTW, tech said the motherboard comes with a 90-DAY WARRANTY!! Who are they kidding? 90 ** days!!!

Purchased four KitchenAid appliances three years ago for a complete kitchen remodel. Very disappointed. The exhaust fan on the microwave is extremely noisy. The handles on my fridge are always needing to be retightened. Happily the dishwasher is perfect. But my biggest complaint, if you slightly bump the knobs on the gas range (KSGB900ESS0) it lets out gas. You wont even know this until you start smelling it. So even cleaning it you have to be very aware to look at the knobs and make sure they are in the off position. This is a major safety issue. If I cant find a recall, Ill probably just throw it away and buy another brand. I bought all KitchenAid from its reputation/reviews but would not recommend to anyone...

We purchased a Model KSC23C8EYY side-by-side KitchenAid refrigerator in November 2012 for over $2,499. Immediately we noticed that it was loud and often made strange noises. We tried leveling it precisely, but nothing made a difference. Sometime in 2013, we noticed that water had been leaking behind the refrigerator. We called the factory service people recommended by KitchenAid. They came out and replaced tubing at a cost of over $250 and said that it was not covered under the warranty because it had been installed incorrectly. In June 2014 The freezer and refrigerator quit getting cold. We called the same repair people. We had to wait days for a service appointment. They showed up and said they had to order the part. Again, we had to make an appointment and take off work for the next visit. This time, there was a different worker who said that the wrong part had been ordered. Again, we had to make an appointment and wait for days for someone to service our fridge. By this time we had been without a refrigerator for over two weeks and used coolers to try to keep as much of our food fresh as possible. Finally, on July 8, 2014 a repairman came out and fixed the refrigerator. It required a new compressor and recharging the system. I had to miss an entire day of work to wait on the repairman and then be there for the 3-hour repair. Luckily, this was clearly under warranty and the total cost of $654.79 was covered.Less than three months later on September 30, 2014, our refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling again. Unable to miss more work in order to wait for repairmen that may or may not fix the problem, we decided to just go to Home Depot and buy a GE refrigerator. In 55 years the KitchenAid refrigerator was absolutely the worst appliance that I have ever owned! Our money was truly thrown away.

We purchased a new Kitchenaid refrigerator and double oven wall unit when we moved into our new home March of 2010. We have had issues with the ice maker/water dispenser not working. The temperature Not staying cold. The veggie tray LID fell off. Now its dead! The repair man did not have an answer, he made many phone calls and theyve decided its the motherboard, which will cost us $500 and a week to get in. Well then it started working, then it died, right now its cooling. The Ice/water in the door was so gross - from water and ice? Theres no way to take it apart to clean. After months of trying to clean the black mold out of it, I finally found a hand held steam pressure cleaner to clean it. I WANT TO SAY THAT I HAVE A 30 YEAR OLD REFRIGERATOR in my garage thats still working. Its NOT a KITCHENAID! Then theres the double ovens, that are self-cleaning thats a joke. When I lock the oven to clean it, it blows a circuit and we have to call someone to fix it. The last time the guy said I wouldnt use it. Its NEVER worked, and that was the reason I bought it. BUT I have to clean the ovens by hand because the advertised self cleaning was just a lie. At this point I would rather buy a refrigerator that I can rely on. I tell everyone, Do not buy Kitchenaid. They are the worst appliances on the market.

A KitchenAid KEBS207BSS01 Double Oven came with a new house we purchased. The first time we self-cleaned the oven, the blue porcelain flaked off the convection cover, exposing bare metal. KitchenAid Customer Service stated this was a cosmetic problem not covered by warranty, since the oven was still functioning properly. I replied that the self clean feature was a function that was obviously not designed to chip off the oven interior, and therefore not functioning properly. They suggested a purchase a blue pen from Amazon that could be used to paint over the chipped interior. Incredibly poor product quality and customer service.

Kitchenaid KRFF507ESS01 Refrigerator. Cost approximately $2300. We decided to upgrade kitchen appliances 3 years ago. Replaced our 2001 refrigerator (never a problem & still running perfect in our garage). Warranty expired after 2 years.Since then: 1. Coils inside form ice and then refrigerator won’t cool. Has happened 3 times. Must empty entire refrigerator & freezer and thaw. Takes more than a day because ice build up so bad. (Sent men to the moon in 1969 - can’t these KitchenAid engineers design an auto defrost like most other companies!)2. Water valve in back (plastic & cost $45) leaked in middle of night. Flooded basement below kitchen and warped/ruined wood floor in kitchen.KitchenAid is welcome to contact me and if they don’t - I will NEVER buy another KitchenAid product.

In a nutshell, the same part on my fridge (the thermistor assembly) has broken down 5 times since I bought it (roughly every three months) causing the fridge to simultaneously ice over yet not keep the food cold. I have a warranty on it, and per CAs Lemon Law, they should have replaced the fridge by now. But every time I call, they keep coming up with reasons why that it doesnt qualify for a Lemon replacement. (This latest time was that the latest repair had the same claim number because it was technically within 90 days of the last time a technician came out. By this logic, they could give me the same claim number till the end of time and never replace the fridge).I can afford a new fridge, but at this point its a matter of principle. I have wasted thousands of dollars in food, not to mention days of my life dealing with this issue -- and have become convinced (based on my research of other consumer complaints) that this is an issue KitchenAid is aware of and that they have knowingly foisted a faulty product & loophole-ridden warranty onto their consumers and EXPECT us to give up when they give us the run-around. I have researched lawsuits against KitchenAid and their warranty company and have been contacted by lawyers who are interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit. If you are interested in getting more information/participating in a class action lawsuit against KitchenAid, please email me.

Bought Kitchenaid Model #KUDE40FXSS5 in 2012. Within first year the top rack fell off the runners and had to be replaced. As that was under warranty Kitchenaid sent repair kit, but we had to install it. March 30, 2017 I started cycle. Within minutes water was pooling in front of the dishwasher. Turned off cycle. Drained water from dishwasher and called repairman. He knew immediately what the cause of leak was as he had seen it often. The ring that connects and tightens a water hose to the pump was not tight enough. The original ring could not be tightened as it was installed at the tightest possible connection allowed by that plastic ring. He replaced with a Bosch metal screw tightening ring. Called Kitchenaid and they refused to help with payment for repair. This machine cost $1200 new. This is inexcusable and I will never recommend this product.

It has received 2 service visits and both times the false, short starts have been judged normal. Strange... BUT it does recover automatically and works very well for 5 years now. Our problems with this dishwasher have been multiple over the 2 years and 5 months we have owned it. The electronic control board went bad almost immediately. This was fixed under warranty almost immediately. A few months later water leaked out of the machine and damaged our floors. We received a letter from KitchenAid owning up to the problem, with our model listed among the problem machines. When I called Customer Service to schedule repair I was told the serial number did not match up and that nothing could be done for us. The latest disaster is the warping, popping and breaking of almost all the plastic parts in the upper basket. Again, KitchenAid refuses to stand behind its miserably made product: I am told that I am out of warranty and that the Extended Service plan I purchased does not cover plastic parts. I will never again purchase a KitchenAid large appliance. I will not deal with a company that refuses to stand behind its product.

We purchased the KUDS30IXWH in November of 2014. The unit works perfectly to our great satisfaction. Extremely quiet and dishes/glass are sparkling clean. We have only used the Normal Cycle. Cannot vouch for the other ones. At delivery the unit looked great. No problems were visible. Suddenly three months later blemishes/spots/watermarks mysteriously appeared on the white front panel. We tried every possible way to remove them. When wet they disappear but all reappear as soon as the surface dries up. Very strange! We are trying to find out whether other people experienced the same problem before contacting the company.

My husband and I purchased a custom home in November of 2010. We wanted high end appliances in our new kitchen and have about $25K in KitchenAid products in our kitchen. The largest expense was our built-in refrigerator (model number KSSC42KVS). We paid $8,000.00 for this supposed high end refrigerator. 2 and a half years later, it sits completely dead in my kitchen. The past 3 months have been a nightmare. First, the ice maker assembly had to be replaced at a cost of about $400.00. The cheap plastic arm that closes the ice chute stopped working and allowed warm air to move into the freezer, then the compressor kicked in overtime trying to cool the compartment. 3 days after the ice maker was replaced, the refrigerator side stopped holding its temperature. The compressor would kick on, the freezer would drop to -10 and the fridge temp would go up to 56-60 degrees. The repairman was out again. This time he replaced the damper door assembly which allows the air to move from the freezer side into the the fridge side. Cost me $700.00. Again, everything was OK for about the 3 days and then the same problem happened again. The repairman was out again and this time replaced the thermistors. Again 3-4 days works properly, then compressor kicks on, freezer down to -10 and fridge up to 56. All this time my technician is conferring with Whirlpool technical support and following their recommendations. Now Whirlpool says the main circuit board is bad. It cannot be repaired because all of the inventory was wiped out by the tsunami in 2010. I will have to wait 2-3 weeks while my board is shipped out to a 3rd party vendor to be rebuilt. Now I am out another $600 as we had to buy a cheap fridge to put in our garage because my $8,000.00 is unusable. The board comes in, the repairman puts it in and within an hour after him leaving, the whole fridge just shuts off. The rebuilt board is bad. The repairman is back with a new board.. The fridge works fine for 3 days and then on June 27th, the same problem is back. I let it run for a couple of days and by the 29th, now the freezer isnt holding temp either. Both fridge and freezer are at 60 degrees. I called the repairman again and he tells me that Whirlpool is saying that they are out of ideas. My 2-year-old, $8,000.00 refrigerator has some electrical problem and it cannot be repaired. I will have to buy a new one. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? If I would have known what terrible quality KitchenAid is, I would have spent another $1,000.00 back in 2010 and bought a Sub Zero. Please do not be fooled into thinking that KitchenAid is high end and high quality!

We recently purchased a Kitchenaid stainless steel dishwasher from Lowes. It is the quietest dishwasher I have ever had but it stinks! I mean it SMELLS terrible a day after it has been run. Smells like stale garbage filled water. When I questioned KitchenAid about this I was told the dishwasher does not entirely drain as not to dry out the gaskets... Well, that is all well and good but the leftover water stinks. I leave the dishwasher open almost all the time, which is very inconvenient in my small kitchen, to try to get it to dry. I would never recommend this dishwasher to anyone because of this. I tried running the cleaning product (Affresh) thru it but that didnt work. After one additional use, it was back to the same smelly condition. VERY disappointed in the expensive dishwasher.

Extremely dissatisfied with the KitchenAid product, warranty and customer service. I contacted them Feb. 5th 2015 to inquire as to the procedure to resolve an issue with the door of my microwave not opening. After a considerable time of answering questions, I was told that my unit was no longer covered under warranty. I then expressed the following info to the KitchenAid representative and offered copies of documentation:1/31/2014: Ordered 1/31/2014: Deposit $5412.50 4/22/2014: $3252.91 final pay 5/15/2014: Appliances delivered 1/16/2015: Moved in 1/19/2015: Microwave installed by Vassar Electric 2/05/2015: Door would not openYour representative stated that it did not matter, KitchenAid’s warranty is based on date of purchase (1/31/2014), not date of deliver (May 15, 2014) or the date of installation (1/19/2015). We were told by C&D Appliance that we had a deadline to order or the price would go up. We explained to them that we would not need the appliances for several months as the house was under total remodel. They said no problem as they would store them until we were ready so all the appliances were ordered at the same time and stored at C&D Appliance warehouse. We get a call one day that they needed to deliver the appliances as they need more room in their warehouse so we stored them in our shop area. Little did we know at the time of purchase that the warranties started on the day we ordered them which was also the date of invoice. It cost me $660.33 to use the microwave for 21 days. I also have no warranty on the KitchenAid dishwasher, the Jenn-Air cook stove and the Jenn-Air refrigerator, all of which are product lines of the Whirlpool Corporation. Adding insult to injury, I filed a product review with KitchenAid that they REFUSED to post!

We purchased a KitchenAid microwave/oven combo in April 2013 while building our home. It was installed in December. It immediately experienced an error. We called to have it serviced, but the repairman could not find the problem. The error had disappeared! It is now May, the warranty has expired, and the oven is beeping non-stop at all hours of the night and intermittently throughout the day. When it is experiencing this problem, none of the keys on the keypad work. I thought KitchenAid made a quality product, but this is not the case. Very disappointed that such an expensive product could cost us this much trouble and sleepless nights. Its a holiday weekend, and no one at KitchenAid can be reached. We purchased a stainless steel KitchenAid bottom freezer refrigerator in September 2013. It was fine for a year, but suddenly the PO sign showed up on display board and nothing has been right since then. Upon calling Whirlpool (30 minutes on phone) they suggested we call the repair companies listed on their website. First company we called was Diamond Repair and that guy fiddled around and since he could not figure out the problem, told us that the fault was with the outlet in our brand new built house! Ok, so we called the builder and they looked at it and declared it fine but changed it to a brand new one. Problem continued with the constant beeping and PO symbol on. Then I called Maytag company to look at it and that has been a nightmare. After the first tech left, our water dispenser that was working fine till then, stopped dispensing. They said that maybe it was a coincident that it failed and their tech was not at fault. What!!! They are simply unhelpful. Their techs come out and between the two visits they have changed each and every circuit board, to no avail. Much to our chagrin, whenever I call Whirlpool customer service center, and speak to a manager, they make me repeat the problem, promise me that they will call back and I never hear from them!! One time they supposedly ordered new door for this fridge, but the tech from May-tag came with new circuit boards and did know anything about any door being ordered. I wash my hands off Whirlpool company. The fridge was clearly a lemon. In all the years of owning several refrigerators, this has by far been the worst fridge we have owned but the Whirlpool customer service has been pathetic, to say the least. I will make sure none of my next appliance is even partly owned by Whirlpool!

If I could rate this company any lower, I would. I have a Kitchen Aid microwave (TR71834046), Refrigerator (KRFF707ESS01), and dishwasher (KDTE334GPS0). All were purchased 3 years ago along with a range. I have had to file 10 different claims on the items listed above in those 3 years. I also have had to purchase several warranties and extensions to make sure I am not completely screwed. For how much money I have spent, you’d think their customer service would at least be worth it. Think again. You have to wait for at least 1 hour before ever talking to anyone. So I’ve spent well over 10 hours just on hold with this god awful company. Each time they then set up a date in the not so near future for a repair company to come out and sometimes even then the job is far from over. I am now awaiting a company to come fix 3 different things on 2 different appliances. This after they were just out 3 weeks ago repairing something else. I HIGHLY recommend you stay VERY FAR away from Kitchen Aid. This company is absolute trash and uses the cheapest of plastic to make their products. I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from them again.

I wish I had seen this site before we purchased our KitchenAid Stainless Steel range, Model #YKESS907. One year after buying, we tried the self-cleaning function for the first time. It blew out the thermostat, shut down the front panel, and locked the oven. I had it replaced under warranty and didnt think to try it out again, until one year later. Turned it on and exactly the same thing happened. My retailer picked up the cost of the thermostat but I paid the $175 service call. Once up and running, I turned on the self-cleaning function with the service guy still there. He left and 90 minutes later, it blew again.Sounds like I am ** in regard to Kitchenaid doing anything about it. I used to love KitchenAid. I had a suite (dishwasher, refrigerator and range/oven) from them for 10 years in my old home and had no issues. Naturally, when I went to purchase appliances for my kitchen remodel in my new home, I bought KitchenAid again. A year after they were installed, the fan in the oven started to rattle and I began to notice surface rust on the appliances. Ive always used stainless steel cleaner, and I never had this issue with my old appliances. The rust will not even come off with the cleaner. KitchenAid sent out a service technician who fixed the fan and looked at the rust. He said the rust was a problem with all of the stainless steel appliances when they get any water on them. Seriously? A dishwasher, refrigerator and oven? When do they not get water on them? When I contacted KitchenAid, they told me it was a cosmetic issue and therefore not covered. They did call their service technician who said he only saw a small amount of surface rust on the stove and did not look at the other appliances. He also told them it was an environmental issue. (Totally different from the story he told me.). KitchenAid also said it was a cosmetic issue and there was nothing they could do about it as I had used the wrong brand of stainless steel cleaner and the environment was too moist. My home is 30 miles from the ocean in a desert climate, and my previous home (where I did not have problems) was much closer to the ocean, so how it that environmental? KitchenAid offered to send out a second technician out at my expense. I will never buy another KitchenAid product again.

February 2020 everything in freezer is melted again-another service call. Now, there is rust on the outside of the freezer door, and the top left door doesn’t seal well at all. The seals on both sides are torn. I was told that might be expected on a 15 year old appliance but certainly not on an 18 mos old fridge. I suspect when they swapped out the door from the broken fridge it didn’t fit correctly. Also, KA said I must have used abrasive cleaners & brushes for the rust to appear. That has never happened. We have been extremely careful to use only water and soft cloth to wipe. Their insinuation is insulting.I have been given names, emails, phone #s at Whirlpool, at All South Appliance etc. The customer service is lousy, non-exsistent in fact. After sending multiple pictures to different people, I have been told they cannot extend warranty coverage (I had been told twice that was probably how it would be handled). To say I am irate is an understatement. Never buy a KA. It doesn’t matter that you spent $3000 for what you expected to be high quality. It is junk and corporate KA/Whirlpool could care less.

Each time I bake, I notice the bottom layer of the food is not baking, even after an hour in the oven. If I attempt pizza, the top is cooked. However, the dough underneath is raw pans. I am very frustrated. I bake daily and am wasting a lot of food. We have tried everything theyve told us to do, but yet still the top layer is being dried out and the bottom remains raw. Does anyone else have the same problem or had it resolved?

We have a KitchenAid refrigerator. This refrigerator is less than 5 years old. It started having problems keeping the correct temperature. Called my service guy, he comes out, checks it out and states it has a freon leak. This involves the sealed system, a repair he does not do. Whirlpool was called and this issue was discussed. An authorized service provider from Whirlpool was sent out and yes it is a sealed system leak but he does not do sealed system repairs. I pay him his diagnostic fee. Called Whirlpool again and another provider is sent out to ascertain that yes it is a sealed system problem and guess what I get to pay another diagnostic fee. Whirlpool stated they sent out the first provider because they are on the List. Somehow this appears to be my problem that they sent out a company that doesnt do the repair that was clearly the issue per my appliance guy. I called to see if Whirlpool would cover one of these fees but nope. I wasted one hour and five minutes on the phone and got zero satisfaction. I also want to add that this repair parts and labor are covered under warranty so it seems doubly ridiculous that I have to pay two service fees. There will never be another Whirlpool, KitchenAid appliance in this house again.

We bought a French door freezer on the bottom lovely refrigerator. 11 months from purchase it quit making ice and would not keep things frozen. The repairman replaced all of the parts in the refrigerator. It was as good as new. Yah right. Now six weeks later it is starting the same thing. I just called and demanded we get a new refrigerator. Oh they cant do that, they only repair their screw ups not replace them. I would love to get a class action lawsuit going. We spent more than $2000 for a piece of crap. I know reading other problems that others have spent much more. The company that is ruining the KitchenAid name should be put out of business. They used to be a high end appliance. Give me your thoughts. Thank you.

I experienced an issue with our KitchenAid hood microwave in July because it was not heating. I called KitchenAid since the microwave was less than four years old and was what I thought to be top of the line from a reputable company. They gave me A&E factory service to come out for the repair. On the first visit, while working on the microwave, the technician sold us a service warranty for $40 adding that there would be no additional charges other than the $129 service fee and that he would have the microwave running again. He said that he found the issue, ordered the parts, and was going to come back a week later to perform the service work. He returned a week later and installed the parts but the microwave still did not work. While working on this, I heard him make a phone call to his manager. He called me into the room to let me know that the service plan he sold me was not good. They were going to refund my $40 and the work he had done on the microwave was about $388. If i wanted to get the microwave working, he could go further but I was responsible for the cost. I requested that he remove the parts he installed and let him know that I did not want the $40 back as I would be checking into why the service plan was not covering this. After numerous phone calls to A&E, they stated that since the microwave was not working at the time their technician sold me the protection plan, they could not cover the problem. I did not ask for the protection plan, he sold it to me. To make a long story short, I contacted KitchenAid--talk about not caring. They could not care less that I had an issue with their less than four-year old unit and even less that I had been duped by their service company A&E (Sears).I bought all new KitchenAid appliances after a house fire in 2007, thinking that I was getting top of the line equipment. Turns out, I bought junk that nobody will stand behind and no one can fix when there is an issue--fridge, oven, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer. When I have to replace the rest of this **, I will not buy any Whirlpool-made junk. I most certainly will not buy anything else from Sears and will never have A&E service back to my house.

We bought a brand new, 48 built-in refrigerator kssc48qts02 in Aug. 2008. Two years ago the electronic motherboard had to be replaced to the tune of almost $1000. Now our thru-the-door water dispenser is leaking. Had 2 different companies look at it with the same diagnosis... 1). The water line is broken 2.) There is no way to repair the line as it is built into the freezer door 3.) The freezer door needs to be replaced 4.) THEY NO LONGER MAKE THE FREEZER DOOR!!! Come on KitchenAid, you used to make good products. What happened? The refrigerator is only 8 years old and was very expensive to begin with. Another thousand in repairs. And now they no longer make this product? MAJOR DESIGN FLAWS.

Exhaust vent with microwave does not remove steam from cooking. Stove top has not been bad yet, knock on wood. Side by side Refrigerator what a joke. As other reviews stated the interior was not designed by anyone who works in a kitchen. I had the repair man out to fix my dishwasher and he noticed the frig was making strange noises. What nice guy to even mention it, he stated they were having problems with them, got the frig fixed for free. One year later, upper frig not working. Kitchenaid, Whirlpool, your product sucks. Come from small community but Big family, I am ashamed to state you are an American made company. Will never buy them again! Also fridge is a stainless steel exterior, did not know stainless steel could rust. Consumer beware!

Our KitchenAid electric wall oven indicated temperature drops 50-60 degrees whenever the temperature is adjusted or if the door is opened momentarily. Then its necessary to wait 10 to 15 minutes for the temperature to rise and for the timing to begin or resume. Weve used other brand ovens and this has never happened with them. The KitchenAid Chat respondent says it was designed this way. Hard to believe, since they must have had numerous complaints about this problem. These days, with all the enthusiasm about home cooking, such a design problem is a very bad one, and very unacceptable for anyone interested in cooking at home. We certainly advise against buying any KitchenAid product if this indicates the quality of their designs and response to problems.

We just renovated our entire home, and I wanted a good, solid, basic dishwasher for the basement kitchen, thinking this a better option for my teens. This is not our main kitchen and it doesnt get the normal amount of use like our main, upstairs kitchen, and I didnt want anything too complicated. The KitchenAid dishwasher was installed and leaked from day two. It leaked out the sides and all over the floor, and ruined the brand new cabinetry that it was installed next to. In the two years that weve had it, it has been serviced 7 times, and tomorrow will be the eighth. It was barely nine months old and a pump had to be replaced.Early on, I begged the KitchenAid company for a new unit. I even offered to spend a little more and get a totally different unit, knowing Id have to have another cabinet panel made to match our cabinets. Anything to get this lemon out of my kitchen! Nothing doing. Im basically stuck with it, and now whenever I call (again) for service, they want to charge me the service call because its out of warranty, even though they have the service history. I ask for a supervisor and they finally agree to foot the service call, but for how much longer, its anyones guess. Thank goodness I chose two Bosch dishwashers for upstairs. They are quiet and work wonderfully, and they get a lot of use!

I placed a review on this site regarding a catastrophic failure of a door seal on our very expensive fridge 3 years to the date after purchase. After numerous conversations with the Canadian warranty department and being told the part was not warrantied after one year I ordered a door seal from another provider and replaced the seal. I then wrote the review.Much to my surprise on Dec 4 The manager of Canadian Operations for Customer Relations Whirlpool contacted me to advise us they were prepared to send a service technician out to replace the seal at no cost to us. I advised the Manager that I had already replaced the seal and what the cost was. The Manager advised me to send him a copy of my receipt and that Whirlpool would reimburse me for any out of pocket costs for the seal replacement. This was a very pleasant surprise indeed and has replaced my faith in the KitchenAid product as they DO stand behind their product. There may be a takeaway here for Whirlpool to make it easier for Canadian clients to escalate a problem. A customer relations email address, phone number?

We had a repairman at our house almost weekly for three months. He finally got the water to work, never the ice and then the entire thing froze up. We waited for him again to come to the house. He said to put a fan on it to thaw it out. Well that worked for a week and then the entire thing went out. The repairman even said that the refrigerator we bought was a piece of junk because he has like 5 calls a week for the same one. Long story short, we waited for another part, the part came in and the repairman said he wasnt qualified to put it in so we had to call KitchenAid for one of their people. 3 years ago we bought a new KitchenAid energy star KUDC101XSS. It has never worked properly ..The washer completes its cycle only 1 time out of 10. The 1st month that we owned it, Sears Appliance Repair came to fix the problem. Completed the cycle a few times and then back to cutting off mid cycle. Repair call #2: same result. Finally, a new Mother Board was installed. Even with a new control board (new brains) the machine continues to cut off before the soap has dissolved. We then signed up for the extended warranty and when the repairman came out again the $$$ coverage of our contract was used up. For 3 years, weve have to hit the resume button several times during the cycle or cancel/drain and then restart the cycle. It still will not complete the cycle and never dries the dishes. Recently, Sears had the nerve to call to renew our extended warranty. We have decided that when it completely stops operating, well just throw it off the back and watch it roll down our back hillside. If a class action lawsuit is ever begun against KitchenAid, we will certainly join the ranks.

Had dishwasher KUDS30IXSS a little over a year and two small plastic parts on the upper glider both broke after just moderate use. Outside of warranty by a few months and Whirlpool (Kitchenaid) sent their own repairman who said the two parts were $48. Took 10 minutes to replace them and then charged $130 for labor and an additional $85 for the service call. I have never, ever had a service where they charge labor and service charge. Its one or the other (Also, $130 for 10 minutes of labor?). Complained and repairman said its company policy and should take it up with Whirlpool which we are. We remodeled our kitchen in 2014 and purchased a KFIS29PBMS03. It immediately started frosting up in the freezer on the left side and ice and water would form below the ice maker and drip into main fridge. After three service visits the dealer replaced the unit. Again the same process happened again with multiple services and updates. Our dealer, Fergurson had another unit shipped out and installed that supposedly had been updated and fixed of these two issues. The third unit is actually worse with the frosting up and the drips and icing is about the same under the ice machine as the two others. Whats disturbing is the last service guy did order a new freezer door and gaskets but stated all these units do this and yours is not bad enough to fix as of now, but they do have another update to the top of fridge. I purchased a full set of Kitchenaid appliances 2 years ago. My purchase included a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and microwave. Close to $10,000 worth of appliances. My experience with the refrigerator and Kitchenaids support had been a nightmare. (For clarification, Im middle aged, this is the 5th home I have owned and remodeled in my lifetime, and I consider myself reasonably intelligent with reasonable expectations.) I have had issues with the refrigerator within the first month of installation. - The water dispenser was and is incredibly loud. You can hear it on the other side of house. The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done - The ice maker would randomly defrost and leak all over the floor: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done. If the left door was left slightly ajar, the alarm would not go off: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was the design, and that one particular door is impacted and there was nothing wrong with the unit. - The lights on the inside of the unit would randomly not work, but then work 1 hour to 2 days later: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a head-scratcher, But because it was functioning when he looked at it, nothing to be done.I decided to purchase an extended warranty because I was already nervous about the longevity of the unit. During that extended warranty time, the previously mentioned items continued. Three weeks after the warranty expired, the unit basically died. It would randomly defrost the entire freezer and only come back on by flipping the breaker several times. The interior lights would not work about 30% of the time and the water dispenser would randomly stop working. When the freezer would start to thaw, so would the ice in the icemaker... and leak all over the floor. I had a different repair person come out. I was not going to have the same useless waste of time company come out if it was going to be out of my pocket. They replaced the entire motor. It worked for two days, and started the process again. They then replaced one of the primary computer boards. $1100 later, it worked for 3 weeks and then started thawing, defrosting, lights off, etc again. The thing is either possessed or a total lemon.

Our Failed Kitchen Aid Refrigerator KFIS29BBMS02 Ser#K35102755 - We purchased this refrigerator January 2013. The ice maker went out right away and was replaced on under warranty. Then in 2016 it fell apart. Another ice maker (Two) more actually, new control panel, new compressor. Service Dealer in Omaha tried to fix it 5 times with new parts and recharge the system. Last repair was 1-3-2017. Sent a letter to KitchenAid & Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha. NFM called back and said they could do nothing since we did not buy extended warranty. KitchenAid did not respond. It went hot again this week and no ice and lost frozen food for the 5th time. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! To KitchenAid Dishwashers: Compliments and thanks! KitchenAid has stepped up big time, so I want to update my November 7 negative review of dishwasher model # KDFE204EWH. This morning, we got a very nice phone call from KitchenAid’s customer care people. They will pay for the part replacement and the installation labor. In a happy coincidence, their local authorized service operation happens to be the same (first-rate) dealer we bought the dishwasher from, so I know the follow-through will be there. Two takeaways: At least one of the “squawking platforms” that we used for our complaining this past week did the trick, so complain widely! And It likely also helped that we promptly registered our purchase with KitchenAid, so they already had all the details.

I have on three occasions spent over 30 minutes on hold. I still have hope that someone will eventually be able to help me with this repair but my experience so far is extremely bad or non-existent. Does Kitchenaid expect me to throw this microwave out? If so, I will never be purchasing another Whirlpool or Kitchenaid product again.

My husband and I bought this KitchenAid Dishwasher, Model# KDFE104DSS1 Serial# F52627380 in July 2015. It has not been cleaning the dishes properly for the last 6 months. We called KitchenAid and they stated that it was out of warranty and we could buy a new warranty for $350.00 and it would cover the dishwasher for another year. We spent over $600 for this dishwasher and bought it because of the name. My husband took the dishwasher out and pulled it apart and (after speaking with appliance repair representatives and the internet) figured it was the pump motor bearing. He went to the appliance part store and got a new motor, installed it and it worked. How can a dishwasher pump motor break after only 21 months and the dishwasher is only used twice a week? I would never recommend this dishwasher or any other KitchenAid product to anyone. The customer service only wants to sell you warranties.

I purchased 4 new KitchenAid appliances with my new house. In less than a few months, the finish on the bracket that holds the handle to the oven of the range started to flake and peel. As others have written, KitchenAid describes this as cosmetic and will do nothing about it. I talked with 3 customer service persons and emailed pictures. My emails and voicemail message are not returned. I, too, bought KitchenAid thinking it was a high end appliance company. KitchenAid is not interested in quality, not interested in customer service, and not interested in backing up their products! I recommend no one ever buy a KitchenAid product! I certainly will not do so!

I came to this site to see what others are saying about KitchenAid... it just made me angrier but justified my feelings! I, too, purchased ALL KitchenAid appliances for my renovated kitchen. HUGE MISTAKE! The appliances are less than 2 years old. My refrigerator has been broken for literally 3 months today, after MANY calls to KitchenAid and then Whirlpool - their parent company - I have a repair company coming to replace the CONDENSER! A huge job that takes 5 hours.. that is what I was told. The first time they came, they misdiagnosed so I had to make another appointment. The second trip they told me I needed a part. I make the appointment and have to take the day off of work (they wont do warranty work on Saturdays-- they actually said that) so Im waiting for the 12-3 window of arrival. At 11:45 THAT day I get a call its the wrong part... KitchenAid and Whirlpool has been NO help! I cant even talk about the stove and oven!! It just shuts off in the middle of cooking!!!! But yet the gas keeps blasting! So while I think something is in the oven cooking, waiting for timer... it shut off! I am afraid to even use this oven!! Again, no help, no assistance from KitchenAid. The Rep tells me to reset my breaker when this happens... I have no choice BUT to do that but this is not normal! My stove should not just shut off! And the dishwasher??? Please... more of the same! I will never again buy any KitchenAid or Whirlpool product or any product under the Whirlpool company! Nothing but issues since the day they were installed!I heard great things about GE but I wanted KitchenAid... my HUGE mistake. If only I had the finances to get all new appliances!!

KitchenAid Dishwasher Model KUDS30FXSS. As a consumer I am loath to leave a bad reviews, but I have to say I am very disappointed in my dishwasher and in KitchenAid as a company. Within the first year a plastic valve sprang a leak and flooded my floor. A year and a half later the upper rack is broken, and the motor has failed. The failure of the valve and the rack I ascribe to bad design and/or use of substandard materials, but the motor problem is more complicated. The factory service technician wanted to assign blame to me, by suggesting that something hard left on the dishes of a piece of broken glass ruined the motor. I have been careful with this machine, and always rinsed dishes before putting them in. Before this I had an Asko Cylinda which got me in the habit of pre-rinsing. Over the 12 years I owned that dishwasher I had to call for service two or three times when small particles would get past the filters and obstruct the flow of water to the spray arms. The remedy was simply to remove the obstruction, however. It never required a new motor. The KitchenAid is supposed to have a soft waste disposal built in. One would think that would provide more protection, but, in fact, it not only failed to prevent a particle from getting in the system but there was nothing to keep it from destroying the motor once it got in. That suggests bad design to me. Secondarily, I have an issue with KitchenAid itself. At every turn the company pretends that customer satisfaction is primary. Their people are always polite, but they are just the velvet glove that hides the iron fist. But the bottom line, in my experience with the company, is that its strict and narrow policies mostly let them off the hook and out of responsibility when something goes wrong. Their service personnel express sympathy but tell you they are bound by policy. Of course, they are KitchenAids people, and KitchenAid makes the rules that make it difficult for the technicians to do right by the consumer. A company that values repeat business (I bought a KA refrigerator from the same designer series first) should barricade itself behind its rules only in the most flagrant cases of consumer negligence or abuse. I paid over $900 dollars for what I thought was a best-quality, USA-made product that would last and had an excellent company name behind it. I used it regularly and took good care of it. A year and a half later, the company will only fix half of whats now wrong with it, and informs me I am responsible for replacing the motor at a cost of $450. For that much money I could buy a Maytag (also made by Whirlpool) or I could triple that amount and get another Asko or a Bosch. Certainly, I will never trust KitchenAid again.

We have had KitchenAid dishwashers for 20 years. I got this dishwasher three years ago after six months, it wasn’t cleaning the dishes. The repairman came out and told me that I was using the wrong detergent. I switched to Cascade. The fact that you need to buy a special detergent to go with these dishwashers seemed pretty peculiar, but I did it. Since then I’ve had a repairman out three times because it leaks, wasn’t cleaning the dishes, water wasn’t emptying, and now all of the wheels have dissolved and fallen off the dishwasher on the bottom rack. They have melted onto the drying bar. I am grateful they didn’t start a fire. The repairman came out and told me that I was using the detergent Cascade and that dissolves the plastic on the dishwasher wheels.... WHAT???? I finally called kitchenaid and she told me that have never heard of this ever happening and that my warranty was out. I told them that not have if any wheels on my bottom rack was inexcusable and I demanded they send me wheels. Finally they said they would. That was 7 days ago. They said they would send them but if I couldn’t put them on I’d have to hire someone, they would not pay for that. I am very disappointed in kitchen aid, and will never, ever buy another.

We purchased a KitchenAid stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and over the stove microwave three years ago. All stainless steel (except for the plastic parts that are colored to look like stainless steel). So far the refrigerator and dishwasher have not been a problem. In the case of the stove, I was very disappointed with the quality of the stove, particularly the drawer below the oven. You cant describe it as anything other than flimsy. I should have checked out the drawer in the showroom model, but who would think to do that. However the microwave Model YKHMS 1850SS2 is the biggest problem. Having read the other reviews I realize that my complaints are shared by many other customers and that they have not been successful in resolving their complaints with KitchenAid. The first problem was with the vent grill. As others have found the plastic grill is so poorly made it cracks and snaps when you tighten the screws to hold it in place. In fact I discovered beyond the warranty period that the grill was damaged on delivery. Within the last month, the door handle, which looks like stainless steel but is in fact plastic literally broke apart under normal use. I was interested to read the reviews and learn that this is not an uncommon problem. I went online to see if I could get a replacement handle. Replacement handles are readily available for most microwaves, including earlier KitchenAid models at around $45. However, KichenAid will not supply a replacement handle for this model. They will gladly supply a new door for $350. This is unacceptable. Based on the many problems reported in the customer reviews it would be stupid of me to invest in a new door and then be faced with some of the other problems consumers have had with a KitchenAid microwave. We will replace it with a new microwave that is not a Whirlpool product. And we will never buy another KitchenAid stove, refrigerator, dishwasher or other Whirlpool appliance.

I installed a KitchenAid Dishwasher KUD101FL SS3, Type 577-0, during my remodel. I have to wash the dishes before I put them into the dishwasher or they leave dried food on them. The cable pulley broke and came crashing down on my leg. The door is very heavy. I was very fortunate that I was bruised rather than fractured. Also, there was a very loud clashing noise when the blade goes around. Now, I am not using it at all and must call a repair person. Of course, it is no longer under warranty. Ok, so for the 2nd time in less than 3 years, the wheel clips on the top wash basket broke, which in turn makes the basket fall down and the washer inoperable. For the price I paid for this dishwasher I will tell you that I was a little more than miffed. The last time it happened, I called my home insurance company out because I did not have the time to deal with the washer (that cost me $70). This time I went online to see about ordering parts. I found this site (and after reading through numerous comments) I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in KitchenAid, especially when I see so many people experiencing the same problem as me. This is obviously a design flaw that needs fixing. So, why did I give them a rating of three? Because upon calling the company to lodge a complaint, I talked with a VERY nice, young lady who worked with me to figure out exactly which part I needed. No stalling, no dodging, she took care of business, put my parts on order and all with no charge to me. Her professionalism is the reason why I gave this a 3 star rating. I have found from experience that when a company has a problem with a product, if you call them (and stay courteous) 9 out of 10 times they will do what it takes to make it right. The lady I talked to was named ** and I am hoping that her supervisor sees this email. Again, thank you ** for your help and professionalism. Semper Fidelis.Updated on June 13, 2015: To be fair to KitchenAid, I am following up from a post I made on June 6th. My parts for the top rack wheel assembly arrived and I just finished installing them. I am happy to see that they have modified the wheel assembly actually using a metal plate this time and it looks like more solid connections for the wheels. I will give them a four star for now as I wait to see how well this modification holds up. Thank you KitchenAid for getting the parts to me in a timely manner. Semper Fi **.

Bought the Kitchen Aid Dishwasher Model KUD301XSS9 in July 2013. 13 months later, like many of these other reviews, had to replace the plastic tabs on the top rack on both sides. Of course, they were on back order (apparently a lot of replacements of those parts on the top rack). I went ahead and ordered two sets for each side, anticipating this will happen in another 12 months or so. The plastic does not appear to be able to stand up to the high temperatures generated by this dishwasher. Had I known that Kitchen Aid was owned by Whirlpool, who also owns Maytag, which, in my opinion, is absolutely the WORST appliance manufacturer since the beginning of time, I would not have bought one. The old slogan from the 1980s about the Maytag Repairman being lonely would not be applicable today... Apparently neither would the Kitchen Aid Dishwasher repairman. Heading over to GE the next time, at least They Bring Good Things to Life, and one of those Good Things will be in the form of a better dishwasher to my home. Now this model is not all bad. The good thing about this model is the same thing that probably cause the problem to begin with... it does dry very good. What KA needs to understand is no consumer wants to be replacing ANY part after only 13 months of service. From reading the reviews, I am not totally convinced they are able to grasp that concept.

I too experienced the dishwasher top rack roller failure. The top rack rollers are secured by (2) cheap very thin plastic spreader clips. These clips are approximately 3/16 wide by 1/16 thick. If just one of these cheap clips breaks - the roller wheel will separate causing the rack to collapse along with progressive failure of the adjoining roller wheel clips. This deliberate design and manufacturing defect by KitchenAid is an obvious attempt at planned obsolesce. This once celebrated company is no longer interested in producing durable quality products. My family bought this range as it was one of the few gas stove downdraft ranges that could be installed in the middle of an island. It is pretty in our island but it is a TERRIBLE and I mean TERRIBLE range. The oven cooks uneven so dont even thinking about trying to bake anything. Over the holiday, the only way I could get by without burning the food was to place the thickest part of the leg of lamb towards the back. Not to mention that it probably takes about 30 minutes to even get the oven to 350 degree heat. It is ridiculous that something this expensive would perform so poorly. To top this off, the self cleaning function does not work.I decided to use regular oven cleaner and that was a big mistake. Now the inside of the oven is peeling. I contacted Kitchenaid to see if it was safe to cook and their representatives are basically robots and would not provide me with an answer or anyone else who could help, they just kept repeating we dont suggest harsh oven cleaning products. Since I was renovating my kitchen, what better than to purchase a quality product like KitchenAid... Unfortunately that was not the case! After six months to the day, the freezer stopped working. I had to throw everything away the day before Christmas. Knowing no one would be taking calls on Christmas I waited a couple of days. In the meantime, the refrigerator side stopped cooling as well. I called the KitchenAid customer service line to go through the proper procedures and protocol for the warranty. The service guy came out on Dec. 28 and told me he did not know how to fix it and he would order the parts. Several days pass. I had to call them to find out where the parts were only find that they had no idea. There was a new tracking system and they could not track the parts in transit. After a week and a half and after speaking with one of KitchenAids corporate reps and some emails to the Brand Experience Senior Manager they finally agreed to replace the refrigerator. You would think this would be a good thing however they had to order it and it would take 7-10 days. After calling the delivery company I found that they had had the refrigerator and no information on who it belonged to, yet no one investigated this. I received the new replacement refrigerator on Jan. 20. Now, you would think that the saga would be over, but no. After nearly ONE MONTH without a refrigerator, the new refrigerator does not work! The freezer is not freezing and the refrigerator side is only slightly cool compared to the 37 degrees that it is supposed to be according to the manual. I called KitchenAid only to have the customer service person tell me I needed to make an appointment for a service call. At this point I am beyond frustrated and I would like to get my money back so I can buy something that works. I cant afford to replace food or eat out daily. I will NEVER buy KitchenAid or any of their affiliates again and will advise everyone I know and work with (the 9th largest school district in the US) of the same.
