KitchenAid fridge model #: KFIV29KPMS03, S/N K43117611. Delivered: 9-16-14. Price: $3,038.00, including $ 199.99 for five year warranty. Issue: Defective freezer seal causes frost ice accumulation, see photo, below. 1st warranty call to KitchenAid 10-22-14 recd appointment for 10-27-14. Repair tech made a few adjustments. 2nd warranty call 11-12-14 recd appointment on 11-14-14. Repair tech said the seal looked good and, based on his experience, the factory fix was to put silicon sealant on the fridge to seal any seams or gaps. He was correct. My position: I expressed to the repair tech and to the factory trouble call reps that silicon sealant is not a permanent fix. The freezer seals installation, or seal design, or seal installation, or structure alignment, or something else was defective and that I was not in favor of applying silicon sealant to fix a manufacture defect. I also called RC Willey, the place of purchase and where I also purchased a five year warranty and expressed my issues. They deferred to the factory. If silicon sealant fixes this defect, why dont the display/floor models have it on them?Photo 11-14-14. Can anything be done to force KitchenAid to replace this obviously defective product?

Regarding Model: KUDC10FXSS7. Despite our pre-rinsing all dishes well, using the Heavy Duty cycle, and never having any trouble with the other 3 brands of dishwashers we have had, the KitchenAid dishwasher just does not clean the dishes. The unit is less than two years old and has never worked well. Additionally, the cycle time for the dishwasher is at least twice as long as the other brands we have used in the past. My wife and I are very disappointed that we have wasted our money on a product that does not work.

This refrigerator is an expensive $9000 built in KBSN602ESS00. It is a replacement for another KitchenAid of the same size. I have had 4 service calls hoping for a tech that can stop the loud, disruptive shaking, rattling noises this unit makes. It is so loud it can easily be heard in the next room where I watch tv. I have spoken to Kitchenaid numerous more times hoping for a solution.Besides the loud ice maker filling with water, the obnoxiously disturbing loud noises from ice cubes dropping, the compressor humming loudly at two different speeds, this built-in makes a sound like metal being shaken and rattling. It can make this noise 6 times in 20 minutes. It does it in the middle of the night, during the morning, every time water is being added to the ice maker. Even if you push the ice maker arm into the off position, this refrigerator still makes the shaking, rattling noises. It wastes your time with tech appointments. Whats worse is Whirlpool apparently tells techs its a water line moving problem. Two techs have told me the noise is internal to the refrigerator. Each tech has called into Whirlpool for a solution, yet that expensive, disruptive unit is still sitting in my kitchen. It has also had temperature control issues. Thirty-four degrees is the coldest setting for this refrigerator. It does not always maintain this temperature on its shelves though. It also has the capacity to drop the freezer to -15 F. That wasted a good portion of my day. Waiting for techs, 4 times has wasted another 4-hour blocks I had to fit in to still be left with this disturbing refrigerator. The salesman quit working for the store I purchased it from about a month after the unit was installed. A second salesperson assured me she would contact Kitchenaid. I have heard nothing back.

I paid over 800 for this KitchenAid dishwasher - it was on sale and rated very high on Consumer Reports. I expected it to last longer than the 2 1/2 years I got out of it! It took me over a month to get someone out to look at it and they said it would be 350 for the part and another 200+ to put it in, he recommended we get a new dishwasher and not a KitchenAid. Very disappointed!

Do not buy KitchenAid gas range unless you are ok with cleaning the oven yourself using harsh chemicals. The Aqualift technology does not work one bit and this will deter me from ever buying another KitchenAid gas range again. The fact that KitchenAid has had this issue for so long and continues to sell these products like this will deter me from ever buying another KitchenAid product.

Ordered dishwasher (Model # KDFE304DWHO) 3-9-15, Lowes delivered & set up 3-25-15. Dishes not getting clean on any of the settings, scum accumulates behind the door on bottom, stainless steel inside stays wet & there is an odor. Repair man came 8-14-15, said I was using too much soap, told me to put soap in prewash cup only. Same day I called KitchenAid, Ester told me to put 1 dishwashing tablet in the main wash cup only, use a rinsing agent, run my dishwasher thru a clean cycle monthly (where is the clean cycle?) & do not prewash my dishes. Ester told me all about her mother owning the same dishwasher only a SS. I told Ester we have had dishwashers for many years & I have already tried all the troubleshooting that was required many times. I told her I wanted to exchange the dishwasher, this was not an option. She told me if I requested another service call, I would have to pay for it. I believe KitchenAid wants to stall you so your warranty will run out then say sorry.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2014 and purchased a KFIS29PBMS03. It immediately started frosting up in the freezer on the left side and ice and water would form below the ice maker and drip into main fridge. After three service visits the dealer replaced the unit. Again the same process happened again with multiple services and updates. Our dealer, Fergurson had another unit shipped out and installed that supposedly had been updated and fixed of these two issues. The third unit is actually worse with the frosting up and the drips and icing is about the same under the ice machine as the two others. Whats disturbing is the last service guy did order a new freezer door and gaskets but stated all these units do this and yours is not bad enough to fix as of now, but they do have another update to the top of fridge. I have ask just to refund my money and come get this jewel of design. The many days of scheduling services and deliveries and exchanges has become extremely time consuming and expensive.

Just have to add my .02 here too. I used to have KitchenAid everything in my kitchen. Our house came with KA appliances, except for the range, when it was built back in 1987. All the appliances lasted, without issue, until we had a remodel done in 2005. We got a new Dishwasher, Range, and Fridge. The fridge was a nearly 2000 dollars French door style fridge. The range was a slide-in gas/convection oven. It cost roughly $1800. The DW was about $800. The Dishwasher was a Bosch. The Fridge and Range were both KitchenAid. Of the three, only the Bosch is still going. Two years ago, the fridge compressor went out suddenly, and it would have cost 600 dollars to replace it. We opted to buy a new fridge for about $1600 - we went with a Samsung. Never did like the KitchenAid fridge. On the other hand, the KitchenAid range was actually a good piece of equipment. I liked it very much... That is, until I used the self-destruct feature, oops, I mean self-cleaning feature. Yes, we had never used the self-cleaning feature of the KA range until about a week ago. We usually cleaned it regularly by hand, as the messes were small. We decided to use the self-clean feature, for the first time, and guess what? It shut down in the middle of the cleaning. The door was locked, and the control panel was not responsive. I got online and found this was a very common occurrence for KA ranges, even ones that were nearly brand new, my range included, as we very rarely used the oven, we almost exclusively used it for the cooktop. So, thinking that this wasnt a wear-and-tear issue, and that the self-clean feature caused the failure, I thought Kitchenaid/Whirlpool would be more than willing to give me some assistance with this. Ha ha, silly me. After nearly an hour on hold, the first rep told me to reset the breaker to the range and wait for awhile to see if that fixed the problem. I reluctantly agreed, and, of course, it didnt fix anything. I called back and this time they told me they would have to set up a service call and it would cost me. Now, again, silly me thinking since the poor design/defect of the stove caused it to fail, I thought they would be gracious to give me a one-time call, or at least send a free part or something. However, no, they didnt care at all and basically told me to get lost and they wouldnt take responsibility for the defect, or stand behind their product. So, after two crummy experiences with KA, and over an hour dealing with customer NO service, I have decided to replace the range with a Bosch, yes, the same company that made my DW that is still going like a champ. I will never, ever, purchase a KA or Whirlpool product again. I hope anyone who reads this will decide to be thoughtful about your money you spend, and if do purchase KA/WP, dont expect any kind of customer service, or a company that stands behind their products.

I own a KitchenAid gas range Mod. KGSS907SSS01. Its only eight yrs old and I’ve only had problems since I got it from self-cleaning (which I decided not use this future anymore) because I was just wasting my money every time I use I had the same black down and paid for repairs, oven that doesn’t heat up or is inconsistent to cheap top insert elements the brick easily (i.e. insert for large left burner) it just fell apart while cleaning... I would not recommend anyone to buy this model thinking you are getting top of line. PLEASE STAY AWAY!When I contact Whirlpool for help or tip on how to replace parts myself they rudely offer me to contact their tech repair person to come to my place and basically ** me financially with high prices to repair my unit that is all I’m left with. I feel I paid high price for this unit and I expect to get better response from Manufacture since they are aware of the issues with this range. I’ve come across many complaints about this model As I searched for solution on web. Again, stay away from KitchenAid/Whirlpool ranges.

It is an average refrigerator with ice bucket in the door. However, the ice in bucket always clumps. Also, it is difficult to keep dust and dirt off the grill underneath the refrigerator due to tight distance between grill and floor space. It is hard to regulate the temperature controls for the vegetable bins. After cleaning the dirt and fuzz from the grill at bottom of the refrigerator there was a noise.

I purchased this Kitchen Aid Bottom Mount Counter Depth refrigerator. It was delivered on November 10th, 2012. I have had to put in 4 service calls to have this repaired. I believe their service technicians dont even know how to fix or advise about this product. I have spoken to several different people in their so-called Customer Care Department and all they advised was, “We have to send out a technician.” It always seems to break on the weekend when no one is around to come and see what the issue is. I called today Monday and no one was available until Tuesday. What kind of nonsense is this? But I can see why no one is readily available, because there are way too many complaints with only a small number of service people. I want a new refrigerator or my money back. Do not buy any of the Kitchen Aid Refrigerators. I want to see how the supervisor is going to handle my complaint. I will keep you posted.

Ok, here we go! I am writing this review in the midst of having to repair an only 2-year old KitchenAid KRFF507ESS01 refrigerator. I wish I had seen these consumer report reviews prior to purchase!! Please take my review seriously so that I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake!! The major issues started about 3 months ago!! First, we noticed a noise (maybe fan) coming from back of fridge... louder at some times than others. I also didn’t realize at time that water leaking from ice dispenser when in use had preceded the noise! I just previously ‘chalked’ that issue up because it didn’t occur all the time! After about a couple of weeks of the noise getting louder and softer, it went away! The bigger issue a couple of weeks later became that the fridge was not cooling properly... Supposed to be 37* in fridge. And at this point the ice maker was not working well; making a handful of ice cubes that were not fully formed! My husband and I ran through the manuals extensive list of troubleshooting advice but could not find the issue! We cleaned the front vent from dust thinking this may be the cause... This seemed to resolved issue or so we thought!! 2 days later the fridge and ice maker were malfunctioning again with same issues except the noise!! I also purchased a thermometer for fridge and freezer to see what internal temps were... 50* in fridge and 30* in freezer! I purchased these because there is no other way that fridge indicates internal temps??? Only set temperature is accessible from LCD panel!I called a repairman who walked in and immediately knowing the (common) issue from a bottom freezer fridge, pulled out the deli drawer which revealed ice formed completely covering condenser cover. He proceeded to tell me these are the worst refrigerators (bottom freezer) and also that they are not built to last more than a year before needing repairs! He said he recommends anybody purchasing one to get the extended warranty because the manufacturer warranty is EXTREMELY limited beyond 1 year as stated in manual. He then ordered a fan, wire and harness and cover (I imagine because he may break existing cover removing it). Boom! $169. For service call. He wasn’t sure what parts will cost yet because his iPad was not working and had to place order on phone through his employer. He then gave me instruction to empty fridge and freezer and leave doors open to defrost ice for 2 days! Thanks KitchenAid once again!! I had to throw out over $500 worth of food from fridge and freezer!! He then said that it will get down to proper temps and that I could use again but that buildup of ice will start again but hopefully be resolved with replacement parts. Hopefully doesn’t sound promising!!Unfortunately, I didn’t purchase an extended warranty but that isn’t the point I’m trying to make! The fact of the matter is that KitchenAid builds a crappy fridge!! Unfortunately, I purchased matching dishwasher and wall oven/microwave combo at same time so now I’m just waiting for issues with these (As a side note, the handle on freezer drawer loosens all the time for which I have to tighten with allen wrench every few days!)!! Well that’s my story as I wait for replacement parts and looking forward to that bill! Sincerely FRUSTRATED KitchenAid customer!

My brand new dishwasher leaked from the moment we got it. Kitchenaid took a long time to send not one, but two repair men out to check it out and we were told by BOTH that we should have the dishwasher replaced since the tub was damaged in addition to a marked front panel. Then it took them weeks to finally say they are replacing the parts and then they come to refurbish it and the tub they bring is damaged. I now have to wait an additional 12 business days to have them come back. This will make a total of 3 months without a dishwasher and I have a toddler. They are the worst customer service I have ever seen. I will never ever buy a product from them and I will never recommend them to anyone.

Called Kitchen Aid to advise that my stainless steel Kitchen Aid refrigerator began developing rust marks 2 years after purchase despite using stainless steel cleaning product recommended. Advised that cosmetics such as rust or discoloration after 30 days from date of purchase are not something they will address. Advised that they do not sell warranty for rust or discoloration. My Kitchen Aid stainless steel range which was purchased at the same time also has a spot where it is discolored. I expect this is only the beginning. The stainless steel used is manufacturing Kitchen Aid is obviously VERY poor quality. When I asked both the customer rep and the manager if Kitchen Aid considered it okay that their products should begin rusting after 2 years, they stated that they were only saying that after 30 days cosmetic issues like rust and other discoloration is not something they can help with. Nor is it something that they will warrant. If you are looking for your appliances to look good in your kitchen for more than a couple of years, I do not recommend Kitchen Aid.

In our fairly advanced years, my wife and I Splurged on a KitchenAid Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Gas stove, Warming drawer and a lot of other matching KitchenAid appliances and tools to complement our new kitchen. While a bit above our financial means, we purchased these based on KitchenAids reportedly High End quality and reputation with the expectation they would very likely outlast us. The stove, while being a self cleaning model, quickly experienced a failed control panel and we were summarily told that we cleaned our oven too often and the ovens heat fried the high tech front panel electronics. It’s fairly common. ARE THEY KIDDING? OVENS ACTUALLY PRODUCE HEAT? Whod O Thought! Then, our Top of the line Dishwasher went to scrap metal Heaven due to its being used too much... Water steam vapor damaged the doors inside control panel. Hmmm... As we have always done, we do our dishes every day as we strangely appreciate cleanliness and a healthy environment in our home which is evidently contrary to KitchenAid’s philosophy of product serviceability and durability standards. I think I get the part where an appliance would necessarily last longer if its not used, thats pretty simple even for me. What I just can’t seem to grasp though is how KitchenAid obtained its reputation for high end quality (as in durability) if their products require virtual non use to maintain any semblance of usability. Are They Kidding? Seriously? And as for the very expensive KitchenAid refrigerator we ordered direct from the factory? It was missing a plastic grill like air disperser part that subsequently caused a complete failure of the entire refrigerator and freezer shortly after the warranty expired. WooHooo... Im so happy, I wish I could say what I really think about KitchenAid and their products but the NSA would lock me up forever. KitchenAid obviously has their piece of the Corporate American Pie. Unfortunately, by most of the comments Ive read, it seems that consumer dissatisfaction will continue to be an ongoing experience for and at the expense of a growing number of very angry KitchenAid customers. Until that is, enough consumers educate themselves en-mass and RE-RATE KitchenAid products to accurately reflect the extremely poor quality and reputation they deserve. Seriously KitchenAid. ARE YOU KIDDING?

I have a brand new Kitchen Aid Conversion Oven/Microwave combo. The way the microwave is designed, you open the door down, like an oven, toward you. Thus, my child opened the microwave, took out some warmed milk, and spilled it on the door as he was getting it out. Some of the milk seeped in between the glass of the door. Apparently, there is no way to clean it! It looks terrible!I called KitchenAid customer service and they told me this a cosmetic issue but a repairman could come and take the door apart for $129 to clean it! Clearly, this is a design flaw! Spills happen all the time with food preparation. The owner should be able to clean it themselves!!! There are no warnings about this in the instruction booklet. How is the consumer supposed to know they cant fully clean the appliance? Why isnt the glass sealed? I want the public to know about the design flaw in the appliance.

I purchased the KitchenAid Gas/Convection Range with AquaLift Self-Cleaning
I purchased the KitchenAid Gas/Convection Range with AquaLift Self-Cleaning Technology. To put it simply - it does not work. It requires you to pour 1 3/4 filtered water on to the bottom of the range after you remove all racks. Click clean button and poof, in 40 minutes your oven is clean...NOT! I am not a cook. I purchased this oven almost 2 years ago. Ive used it less than 10 times. Mostly for holiday dinners. It just is not that dirty. Tried the self-cleaning feature twice. No difference. It just does not work. I am currently also questioning whether the oven is really working well at all. It takes forever to preheat and lately, more time than usual to cook food. I called customer service as I purchased an extended warranty. They wont come out until I troubleshoot all issues. Their recommendation was to unplug the oven and wait 30 minutes before plugging it back in - to reset the oven. Try cooking something and see if that solves the problem. Havent done that yet at the time of this review, however, I think this is an oven I would avoid purchasing. I know Im going to have to end up scrubbing the inside myself and be forced to use the recommended cleaners and tools or risk forfeiting the warranty. It is a great looking oven. It was recommended to me when I was looking to purchase all new kitchen appliances after a total kitchen reno. I just have a bad feeling about this appliance. Cant imagine what others with families and those that use this oven often are going through regarding the ability to clean it. This AquaLift, low-heat technology DOES NOT WORK.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher was purchased & installed about two and a half years ago (Dec 11). The model is KUDS35FXSS4 for over $1000 from HH Gregg Appliances. We also purchased the extended warranty which is thru Federal Warranty Service Corp. We are having the same, repeating top rake wheels failure (3 times so far - every 9 to 12 months) that many others are experiencing. 1st time was under warranty bought from them... Of course the ext warranty does NOT cover wheels and rollers so downtime, parts, labor, aggravation, etc is on us. Thought KitchenAid was a reputable brand like Maytag 20+ years ago (before they went out of business for poor quality and reliability).Wrote KitchenAid a letter explaining and complaining about our recurring issue over a month ago and have heard nothing. Like many others on this site wed thought there would have been a recall or a part redesign to address this design failure but we see no change in parts when we reorder, over and over again. Funny, the parts supplier acknowledged they are sending out a lot of this specific part to address this specific problem. Anyone know how to initiate a class action lawsuit? Based on all the responses read on this site looks like we certainly have the beginnings of one. With so many out of work lawyers right now it could be a way for some of them to get started. It goes without saying (but we are saying it anyway) we are forever done with any future KitchenAid appliances.

We did a complete kitchen remodel Jan 2012 and chose a KitchenAid double oven. Model #KGRS505XSS02. It’s been a super disappointing experience all the way around. The rubber feet broke on the stovetop grates. Kitchenaid and Lowe’s both said that’s not under warranty and they don’t sell the feet alone so we would need to replace the entire grate for much higher costs. It scratches the stovetop! Next the top oven igniter broke. It was repaired under extended warranty I purchased, not by Kitchenaid. Knobs broke next, would not turn. Again fixed under my extended warranty. Next bottom oven igniter broke but now not under warranty. Next top oven igniter broke again! We called Kitchenaid very angry but they offered no resolution. Now top oven igniter has broken for the 3rd time!! What’s up with Kitchenaid? We got a lemon for sure!

In September 2013, we remodeled our kitchen. I looked forward to having 30 double electric wall ovens, but over the years have been VERY disappointed! Preparing last evenings dinner really made me want to write & share my frustrations! The ovens take an inordinately long time to come up to temperature. Once it might be reached, it does NOT remain! The fan is noisy and sometimes seems to vibrate. Cookies become very browned in the back right corner. Last evening I started using the top oven to bake a pork tenderloin. Gave it a long time to pre-heat & it never really reached 325 degrees. I reset it for 350 which again, it did not attain. I finally tried the lower oven, using the convection Rapid heat to bring it up to temperature more quickly. Once it neared 350 degrees, I turned off the convection & used the regular bake. I had to rotate the pan several times to keep it from browning in the back. I have wasted too much mental time being frustrated with these! We did have a repairman visit, he adjusted the temperature & could offer no comments/suggestions re the fan, etc. Am looking for new ovens, but needed to vent.

To KitchenAid Dishwashers: Compliments and thanks! KitchenAid has stepped up big time, so I want to update my November 7 negative review of dishwasher model # KDFE204EWH. This morning, we got a very nice phone call from KitchenAid’s customer care people. They will pay for the part replacement and the installation labor. In a happy coincidence, their local authorized service operation happens to be the same (first-rate) dealer we bought the dishwasher from, so I know the follow-through will be there. Two takeaways: At least one of the “squawking platforms” that we used for our complaining this past week did the trick, so complain widely! And It likely also helped that we promptly registered our purchase with KitchenAid, so they already had all the details.

Stay away from KRFC300EWH01. Build up of frost around freezer door. Purchased from Home Depot on Warner in Huntington Beach, CA... They also appear hopelessly unable to do anything to replace the unit. Technicians come and go with glue, suggestions, and a new gaskets but the ice continues gathering like a snowstorm just swept through. I am referred Whirlpool Mfg. They refer me to the service center. The service center only services during the work week... in 5 hr windows... So they think no one works 8-5. Rotten family of products. Give me a 10 yr old fridge that works... no gadgets. This thing runs constantly... Electric bill up. I shall continue the battle. Watch the headlines!

We purchased a new KitchenAid KSBS25TVBL01 Side by Side with ice maker in the door. The design is lousy! The flapper valve is supposed to close after ice is dispensed but it is so poorly designed that it closes weakly. As a result, warm air flows into the ice bin area and starts to melt the ice. It slowly leaks and leaks. Our refrigerator has a wooden panel on the front and water builds up behind the thing. I just took it off today and the wood had swollen so much that I had to gently pound it off. We will call tomorrow and ask for another repairman. Initially we bought this thing because supposedly it was one of the best warranty-wise, but this part of it is junk. We are afraid to use the ice maker so will just shut it off. Based on what I am reading, it looks like the only solution is to dumb the thing and buy another brand. We paid a bunch for this thing and I think have been hosed!

In September of 2016 we purchased a very expensive KitchenAid fridge, almost $3,000. It was supposed to be the top of the line. Thank goodness we bought the extended warranty, because as I write this I am waiting for the repairman to come out for the FOURTH time. This will be the third time that ice has built up along the inside of the back wall, and to fix it requires the unit to be shut off, drawers and shelves removed, and the ice to melt away so he can open up the back and do his thing. The ice build up impacts the fan, creating a loud noise, and inhibits the ability of the unit to make ice. The other service call was for a malfunctioning deli tray control. Prior to this unit, for 14 years I had a Bosch unit in my other home which worked flawlessly. I would never buy another KitchenAid fridge again.

KitchenAid Refrigerator KSSC48QMS01 - Do not buy this refrigerator. We bought a home with a beautiful custom kitchen with this KitchenAid refrigerator and its just given us grief. Thank goodness we bought an insurance package to cover appliance repair. After three different repairmen and waiting weeks for parts to arrive, we found out most parts were not the right ones. Finally we got a Sr. tech guy to assess what was going on and we had to have the mother board sent out to be re-done. Well that seemed to do the trick, but 8 months later we are having issues again. Our insurance carrier would NOT insure the refrigerator. We ended up buying insurance from another carrier which should have told us something. We have rented a refrigerator while new parts are being ordered. We have lost several full freezer and refrigerator loads of food. No fun. I have no confidence with this unit ever being repaired. Its built into its own lacquer custom cabinet. Ugh. We now have another rental refrigerator sitting outside on our patio as we wait two weeks for parts. Would I buy a KitchenAid unit again. No Way.....there is no help out there to fix this mess.

We purchased a brand new refrigerator in May. By June, it was not keeping things as cold as it should and the frozen foods started melting. We contacted KitchenAid, which sent out a person from A&E Appliance who stated that it was not fixable and reported this to KitchenAid. We were then told that we had to have someone come for a second opinion, which we have never heard of with a brand new appliance. The second opinion said that it needs a compressor. We were then told that this persons assessment is still not enough and that a supervisor now needs to look at the fridge. By this time, we have lost hundreds of dollars in frozen foods and are unable to purchase food for the week, causing us to go to the store each day to buy what normally could be kept frozen. Months later, we still have no working brand new fridge! We were told a part has to be ordered which takes another few weeks. When it arrived, my husband called and they arranged a time for the part to be installed. The person never showed even though my husband and I made sure that one of us was here all day. The appointment gets rescheduled and the person did not show again. When he was contacted, he stated that he was from the business that made the first assessment and refused to put the part in. We want a brand new fridge, which we paid for, in our house within the next week.

Our 8-year-old refrigerator, KSSC36QMS01, stopped working just before the holidays. After struggling to identify the source of the problem, we found the comments and instructions from Chris of Vancouver to be exactly what we needed. I purchased an oven (KEBS177SSS) almost a year ago. The first time, food spilled over in it and I used the self-clean option. The next morning, the beautiful blue interior turned an unsightly gray wherever the food had spilled. The interior is permanently scarred. Im now ashamed to open my oven door! I contacted KitchenAid by phone and in writing. They refuse to do anything about it, saying this is to be expected and that the damage to the interior of my oven is only cosmetic. Ordered a KitchenAid refrigerator KRM706ESS01 just over a month ago. The refrigerator stopped working on Sunday the 20th and did not see a technician until the 23rd. The technician came to the house and told us we needed a part to repair which will not be delivered until the 31st and who knows when the technician will conveniently show up. Now we are out $1000 of Thanksgiving food for 18 people at my house and KitchenAid/Whirlpool offered $100 for the inconvenience, right!! I spent over 2 hours on hold waiting to talk to someone who could actually do something and when I finally was able to speak to someone they were of no help (Tim #**). Looks as though we will be out of a refrigerator for the foreseeable future. We purchased 6 years ago and have had non-stop issues with it. It stops working after about 10 min., then you have to push a few buttons and then it works for about 10 more min. until it stops again, and then finally you have to start the whole cycle over and then it will complete. Its like washing dishes twice! It takes about 2-3 hours for a complete cycle. Also there is a smell that is terrible and after trying dishwashing cleaners, it still smells. Finally, every few months Ive had to take the whole thing apart to clean out the filter area to try to rid the smell. Ive never had so much trouble with a dishwasher!!!! This was a top of the line and expensive model too. :(

He replaced part with warning that I should be careful about self cleaning in the future. Over next 7 years we had technician came five times for various problems. Last week my daughter inadvertently activated self cleaning - first time since 2007. The entire unit shut down again and KitchenAid wants $400 for repair. I argued that it is a defective part. We have a stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher. Its around 3 years old. Model is KUDK03FTSS0. It does a decent job cleaning the dishes, but Ive had to dismantle the filter mechanism to clean it out twice now, no big deal, but I did have to buy a special Torx screwdriver. The main problem, however, is the placement of the steam vent. Its located at the top of the door, which happens to be right under the countertop. Over time, the steam venting from the dishwasher has caused my counter (melamine) to swell and bulge and now its impeding the door from opening. What a stupid idea to place the steam vent right under the countertop! Well, its probably not an issue if youve got granite counters. I guess thats next on the list of household updates.

The dishwasher had to have the panel replaced within a few months of use (fortunately under warranty then). The gas range KAID KSGA906PSS00 has had nothing but problems. The “Gas probe on” message problem is perennial even though I never use it. I have to reset the fuse switch off and mimic the probe as if I was cooking. The control panel died last year and I had to pay $303.45 to get it changed. Now a few months later, the oven does not shut off; I get the Cooking complete message which refuses to go away and I have to reset the fuse switch. Perennial problems - paid a hefty amount on this set of KitchenAid junk. Wish I had chosen another brand.

To date, the handle on my microwave didnt just come off, the plastic broke. It just doesnt heat food quickly and is the noisiest microwave ever. The range has knobs on the front and the writing on all the knobs came off within one month. Im currently on my third set of knobs and they now have no writing on them at all. Therefore if anyone else uses the range they have no idea what they are doing. Also, unless you lock the unit, if you lean over it to get something out of a cabinet, you can easily turn it on with your body without knowing it. Overall, this is a dangerous unit to own.

We bought a KA frig in 2005. We should have learned from that experience. Week 1 everything in frig and freezer was freezing. Service came out 3 times. Finally they removed whole freezer side door (the brains of the unit) and brought a whole new door. Wouldnt replace whole thing just the door. While putting on new door they scratched and scuffed up unit. Yr later ice maker broke. Had to have new ice maker. We have continued to have trouble with it and it is messy. Ice gets hung in shoot, come home water on the floor. Finally stopped using it and went back to ice trays. We paid 2200 for this unit. We redid kitchen in Jan 2011. New slide in range above stove vent a hood vented thru the roof and microwave and new dishwasher. We dont cook a lot. We use the dishwasher maybe 3 times a week. It would not complete cycles but not consistent on which one then the panel lights started staying on, then off. Then it stopped working. After reading reviews we started the breaker thing. Now nothing. It wont be 4 yrs old until Jan 28, 2014 and remember used MAYBE 3 times a week. :( The writing on my knobs on the stovetop rubbed off the first time I cleaned them. The oven temperature has never been right. We have tried to adjust it but no luck. The oven does not cook evenly either. The vent a hood does not draw good. We paid a lot of money for these appliances. I previously was a Jenn Air fan... Loved loved loved Jenn Air. The ONLY reason we went KitchenAid was because the dealer in my town which we have always purchased from stopped selling Jenn Air. If we didnt purchase from them they dont work on it. So after they assured us how good KitchenAid was (even tho we had problems immediately with our fridge supposedly a freak occurrence) we went with the KitchenAid. BIG HUGE mistake. NOW the dealer we bought from so they would work on it for us has gone out of business after 60 yrs. They retired. :( Now I had to call 800 number to find someone. I have been waiting a week and a half and still no call for my appt date. We will never purchase KitchenAid again. Bad product and very costly. :(

Range KESS907XSP02 - Turned on brand new $2,300 range, wow can you say loud? KitchenAid arranged for a service call, turns out that is how loud this model is and there is nothing they will do about it, no refund or exchanges allowed. I would say us as consumers were not informed of this obnoxious feature. We would not have special ordered this model if KitchenAid would have disclosed this flaw. We sit and cringe when cooking in our new kitchen. The loud sound is not our imagination, friends and family agree. KFIS27CXWH2 - We purchased this French door style/bottom freezer style from ABT Electronics in July 2011. Within two years we had leaking under freezer under our wooden floors. We called one serviceman who couldnt detect the issue. Called ABT and they were out approximately 12 times to finally resolve the issue by installing a heater unit in ice maker which happens to be located in the upper left side of the ceiling inside refrigerator. Never again will I purchase a unit with an ice maker in unit vs. freezer. Just after a year and parts warranty expiration - it began leaking again and thankfully I was home to avoid a real disaster and could turn off water. Yet another serviceman was out 2 days again who left stating he couldnt find anything wrong with ice maker. As of today water is not running into ice maker although we do have water in the dispenser on outside door of unit. Has anyone else had this model who has experienced the same issue? This shiny, expensive bells n whistles model replaced a new and very similar Whirlpool which lasted only 6 days before dropping dead. Repair parts were several days away and we were w/o a reefer. Retailer (Lowe’s) very kindly stepped in and arranged this replacement which was actually a slight upgrade and delivered it the very next day. Looked great until the next morning when it seemed that ice maker wasnt working correctly. Within a day and a half the ice maker required service. It was leaking and freezing all over inside the door and top of reefer interior. This resulted in two service visits before a heater kit had to be installed (factory told repair tech it should have been installed at factory). Following this, continued leaks until new seals were installed. Now, 10 1/2 months later freezer quits. Service tech comes, advises this acts exactly like a service flash they received. Performs a number of diagnostic tests and calls KitchenAid as the service bulletin does not offer any fix only says to call for special instructions. Those special instructions were to give me a case number and Customer Assist telephone number. He was told by KA there was nothing he could do - that the matter was being submitted for review and disposition. Meanwhile no freezer and water gushing forth onto kitchen floor from dead freezer/ice maker. I call the number provided and am told that the team would be reviewing the matter and it could take five (5) business days for a decision as to whether it would be repaired or replaced. This being totally unacceptable I was referred to a supervisor who told me there was no way to expedite the process. I told her that five days was totally unacceptable for a replacement decision and then comes the kicker... The five days is only for the decision, if approved by the team any replacement will take an additional 10-14 days! In the meantime I have no working freezer and the refrigerator side, while working, is much warmer than optimal temp settings and compressor is making significant noise. Until this venture we have always had Whirlpool/KitchenAid appliances for 42+ years of marriage save for a short stint with a GE reefer that wasnt our choice. TEST QUESTIONS: Do you think well ever buy anything from KitchenAid/Whirlpool again? (Oh, and did I mention this year we plan to upgrade range, microwave and dishwasher?) Is it any wonder foreign appliances are flooding the market in a country where Made in the U.S.A. once meant quality, longevity and outstanding customer service?

My built-in microwave (KBMS1454SSS) stopped working properly while still under warranty. On advice from the KitchenAid customer service department, I took the microwave to the local factory authorized service center where I spent $234.85. I took the microwave back home and reinstalled it, but it still didnt work. I took it back to the local factory authorized service center and, after eight days, he told me there was nothing more he could do.I called the KitchenAid customer service department again, and they said my only option was to get a second opinion which, of course, I had to pay for. They sent A&E factory Service to my house ($128 for a service call) and the technician ordered a part, came out two weeks later to install it, and that part did not fix the problem. After six visits (each of which I had to take off work and wait at my home for the repairman), the technician finally deemed my microwave unrepairable. He put that in writing and instructed me to contact KitchenAid for a replacement unit. One month, twenty phone calls, numerous promises of call-backs, and several supervisors later, KitchenAid offered to replace my microwave (they called it a pro-rated exchange) for $990. I explained that I had already spent $400 to repair the $1100 unit that I had, and that an additional $990 hardly seemed fair to replace a high-end unit that did not work. They agreed to drop the pro-rated exchange price to $468. I told them that us unacceptable and they said, Were sorry, thats all we are prepared to do.This is a very attractive unit and I thought I was getting the best when I bought KitchenAid, but after this five month-long process of trying to get my problem solved, I could not be more dissatisfied with the KitchenAid customer service department.

We are in a new condo and wanted our new refrigerator to be counter depth. I always thought of KitchenAid as a high end brand than other manufacturers and they made a counter depth stainless steel refrigerator. The cost was a lot more but we thought we would get a quality product. In less than 3 months outside water dispenser came on each time we used the ice maker. The outside water ran for a short time each time. Because of the worldwide Corona virus we were not willing to call a repair person to come into our home. Each time the water would run down the front of the stainless steel refrigerator and I would wipe it up. In spite of polishing it the stainless steel door on the freezer side became stained with watermarks. Over a couple of months of polishing the the stainless discolored looks rusty.a It is not yet a year old.We called a repair person three weeks ago and we are being told the ice maker will be replaced under warranty. I plan to contact the store we bought this and ask for the front doors to be replaced or the refrigerator to be replaced. We live in Mexico and bought this at a well established store with a great reputation. Friends of ours bought a different brand refrigerator and the stainless steel is much heavier and a better quality. I have also compared the stainless on the front of other refrigerator manufacturers and many are more superior to the KitchenAid. What has happened to the KitchenAid brand? If I could rate my experience lower than one star I would. BUYERS DO YOUR HOMEWORK. ITS NOT WORTH BUYING A KITCHENAID REFRIGERATOR.

It took me a few seconds to notice the glow under the hood. By then it was too late. The vent fan was on of course, which only increased the intensity of the filter fire. The hood and microwave were totaled by the heat.

Bought our top of the line panel ready dishwasher 5 years ago, We have had 5 computer boards replaced and replaced the racks 2 times. Now the day before Thanks Giving the repairman says it is not fixable. Kitchenaid want $741.73 dollars from Us to replace it and the new one won’t be available for at least a month. This machine is a piece of crap! It started failing in the first year. DONT BUY KITCHENAID, they Do Not stand behind their products. So Frustrated! It has ruined the finish on our cabinets to the left of the dishwasher and buckled our floors in front. They can take their offer and Shove It!

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in September of 2010. The purchase price with installation and taxes $800.29. A service call was made March of 2013 with a broken latch. In 2015 the same problem occurred. This year 2016 in September the latch broke again and now its two months later and the panel of the whole electrical circuit board does not work. I am extremely dissatisfied with this product. I actually have never gone online and made a statement as far as dissatisfaction with an appliance. It seems like to me that not only are products made to break with being told I should have purchase an extended warranty which from many of the reviews is an additional waste of money. I wish I had looked at more reviews prior to purchasing the product. Dishwasher model number is kuds30ixbl. I was upgrading appliances and wanted a nicer product. I will never recommend a KitchenAid appliance again. When I spoke with people on the phone it was very dissatisfied. Basically Ill have to say that most companies are no longer concerned with customer service. I plan to look for the cheapest dishwasher I can find with as few electronics and things to break as possible.

I have a KitchenAid hood top microwave oven I paid almost $1,200.00 about 2 years ago. I just had a heating element replaced in March 2013. KitchenAid refused to help me and had to pay out of my pocket for repairs. It is 3 months later and the microwave heating element quit working. I called KitchenAid and they refused to help me. I now have to pay out of pocket expenses again to fix the same problem. I tried to reason with KitchenAid, but they refused to help a customer. You can tell there is something wrong with the unit if I need to keep replacing the same part. Its a very expensive microwave for $1,200.00. I thought KitchenAid was an honest company. I guess wrong. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again. Bad customer service.

We purchased four KitchenAid items for our kitchen to receive a $600 rebate. Our reseller showed us the KitchenAid screen where all items were available for deliver in less than 30 days. This was a condition of our purchase. That was 04/01/2021. They delivered our oven and microwave and dishwasher. They never delivered our refridge nor wine cooler. They now claim end of the year. Our sales rep indicates maybe even later since the manufacturer reps come and go and KitchenAid changes its mind on deliveries. I called them and asked if we could pay a little more and pick them up IN STOCK at Best Buy and still get our $600 rebate. They refused. They are making us wait for an unreliable delivery date. They misrepresented the purchase. I saw the manufactures computer screen that said they would deliver. DO NOT BUY from whirlpool or KitchenAid since they will rob from you and not give you any rebates. In addition, they will not live up to their delivery dates even on their own computer system.

We bought a KitchenAid stainless steel stove, dishwasher and fridge in February 2018. The fridge began to show rust spots within the first year. We followed all advice to treat and prevent them but they still occur and at this point, the fridge looks awful. I can only assume after all our efforts that the quality of the stainless steel in these appliances is at fault, and would not recommend this brand. I also find it odd that this issue is not covered by warranty. If something is sold as stainless steel then I expect that it should remain so as long as I am following the manufacturers instructions.

KSSO Built In Refrigerator - Today I received the word that the computer P/N W10219462 was manufactured in Japan and the tsunami destroyed the factory. The inventory of this computer part is zero. My $8,000 refrigerator just became scrap metal. It is less than 6 yrs. old. If there is a U.S. regulation that parts be maintained for 10 years, why are these not available from another sub-contractor? I am assuming they were defective to begin with or the computer assembly sub-contractor was so shortsighted they neglected to back up the specs. I am waiting to hear from the Whirlpool committee as to their solution or their offer. There is also a problem with a custom cabinet door to be considered. Merry Christmas! 12/15/14

I purchased 5 KitchenAid appliances 45 days ago during their big 25% off promotion. That was mistake one. I get a call yesterday 4 days before delivery telling me that my fridge is backordered until April. This is the biggest load of lies since Donald Trump on Twitter. Investigating deeper and talking with my sales agent at home depot it sounds like any counterdepth fridge with external ice water have been pulled and no longer is available for purchase. They have even pulled all these models from the KitchenAid website. Ridiculous. Calling customer service, the company line is that there is no recall and it is available for order. So I ask if its available why is it no longer on the website. Needless to say I need to cancel my entire KitchenAid purchase. Do not make the mistake of buying KitchenAid.

Bought a KitchenAid Dishwasher 15 months ago. Almost $900. Wife wanted it to match our KA fridge. I thought, for that kind of $$, the KA DW would clean better and last longer than my moms $300 Kenmore. But the KA has never cleaned well, even with top-line Cascade products. This week, it would start but not complete a cycle. Nothing in the manual about this. Called customer service. Took them 20 minutes to tell me they have no troubleshooting advice for this problem. My only option was to pay for a service call and the machine is just 3 months out of warranty! I told the lady that I would be writing many uncomplimentary reviews. Im convinced that KitchenAid is not worth the extra money. It is NOT a better product.

I purchased the extended warranty and had to go through them. An appointment was scheduled for Nov 19 and the guy never showed up after waiting all day for him to come. I was told after all day he had to reschedule for another 4 day wait. The repair man said it was the motor. It is completely shot. I was told the motor would be in Dec 8th and installed the Tuesday after. After not hearing from them once again. For my appointment. I spent an entire day on hold. 10 am to 4:00 pm to be exact to now be told they can’t find the motor (due to covid) and have 3-4 weeks to locate one before I will be issued a new dishwasher. It is now Dec 22. Still no answer. No one answering a phone and on hold for entire day. After now a month of dealing with this and no one wanting to help I would never buy kitchenaid again. Terrible service, no customer care.

In Nov. 2017 we installed KitchenAid double ovens, model KODE500EBS02. The ovens look very nice, but they are not for bakers. They take 10 to 15 minutes to preheat, they do not brown bake goods on the bottom, and they take longer to bake an item. The baked item is never done by the suggested time on a recipe. The ovens also bake hotter in the back. These were very expensive, so I am stuck with them, however, I would not recommend them to anyone else.

Either the top or the bottom oven will not heat, the igniters on the burners has gone out several times. When we tried to find a repairman, there is not one in available anywhere in our area. We have tried several local repairmen. They replace numerous parts and we have been charged $200 to $300 dollars each time. The website for KitchenAid has been absolutely no help at all. On June 27, 2018 my parents purchased side by side KitchenAid refrigerator model: KRSF505ESS. They made this purchase at Canadian Appliance Source. The product was delivered on Sep.20.18. The product has not performed well since opened, the freezer didn’t freeze and the ice maker didn’t work. To resolve the problem, we contacted WHIRLPOOL CANADA, at phone 1-800-807-6777 as they are taking care of the appliances after the purchase as a manufacture warranty. We scheduled an appointment for Sep.27.2018 and the technician appeared on the wrong address, even though he was provided with the address shown above and the postal code. We called to Whirlpool Customer service again and scheduled new appointment for Oct.1.2018 from 9am-1pm, Spoke to Brenda. We arranged the time and took time off from work, nobody appeared, no phone call made to notify us.When called Whirlpool on Oct.2.2018, they advise that the appointment from Oct 1st rescheduled for Oct. 2nd (without any notification to the customer) and the technical behind the schedule. The time of my call was 8pm Est. on Oct.2.2018. The tech didn’t come (spoke to Stephanie). I called Whirlpool on Oct.3.2018 stating that the technician wasn’t at the place and they offered to reschedule the appointment for Oct.10.2018 for 8am-12pm (Spoke to Tylor). At this time the technician Ram **, from “The Appliance Pros came. He did some maintenance and advised to wait for 24 hours to see if the fridge is working. The refrigerator didn’t work, and at this point both the fridge and the freezer weren’t operated.I was calling Whirlpool Canada on Oct.11.2018 and explaining that the fridge is not working. The representative after a long wait on hold explained that we are on emergency status but unfortunately she doesn’t have any records or documentations from the technician about the issue. I called Whirlpool Canada on Oct.12.2018 at 8:30am Est, and they said that the technician should come secondly to monitor the issue, and it is scheduled for Oct.16.2018, and again nobody notified us about this.I am very frustrated customer of being offered poor service, very long waiting times on hold, NO COMMUNICATION between the customer, the Customer Service and the maintenance team, and no resolution in timely manner. I would like to address it, since it is not the way Whirlpool should serve their customers. I would like to get faster response for the addressed issues, need to be notified about any changes that done by the customer support representative about any changes or updates about the service. Im not typically writing reviews but this situation should definitely be addressed. I hope my review will avoid people of dealing with CAS in particular and Whirlpool Canada in general.

I have tried to be patient, but a week after an oven fire, that had it happened when we were gone, would have started a kitchen/house fire. As it is I had to call the fire department because I could not turn off the oven. A malfunction allowed the igniter to heat and by the time I woke up (4 am), the house was filled with acrid smoke smell. I went out and thought I had finally canceled the igniter (the cancel button seemed to turn things off after several attempts). Then my husband woke up and wondered what was going on and why, after 1/2 hour the smell was still very strong. Come to find out when I went back in that the igniter was still on and the cover plate over the heating element was bright red with flames shooting out of the sides (of the plate). It was self-contained in the oven, but so hot that when the fire fighters came, they couldnt touch it. They had to turn off the gas and unplug the cord.As I said, its been a week and there has been no call back after the initial phone call to send out a technician (The technician was great and found where there was a short on the board). What is most sobering to me is that my husband is disabled. Had the oven fire started on a day when I was gone volunteering, he could have been trapped by a house fire. I explained this and still no response. I would highly recommend not buying anything from KitchenAid/Whirlpool until they have a better service record.

I have KitchenAid Refrigerator KFIV29PCMS/01 Serial K33102532 (Less than 2 years old). The unit wasnt cooling so we decided to call any service company to get it fixed. They found that there was a leak on the refrigerator evaporator. We tried to order the part but there was no record of the part number on the system, so we decided to call customer service and they told us that that part was not serviceable so we ask them to talk to a supervisor for an advice because we dont want to dump a refrigerator that was barely new. Finally they had someone from the service depart. calling and telling us that of course the unit can be service but it has to be service by them, because they warranty the sealed system for several years and that was part of the sealed system. They got all my info. Never heard from then. I tried to call back many times to find out for a solution. They make you wait... Then I tried the call me back option and yes they call you back and then they make you wait... and then they redirect your call and then they make you wait... and they redirect your call again. Conclusion Im stucked with a new broken refrigerator. They wont let you solved the problem not even if you pay for it and they dont freaking care. Really sad for such a big corporation.

Every time (9 so far) their certified techs come it goes over temperature again a day or two later. I purchased all new KitchenAid appliances for mothers day in 2013. My refrigerator worked for about a year, and since that time I have place 6 service calls. Yes, I bought the extended 5-year warranty for $300, but thats a joke too. My refrigerator has made loud humming sounds, the ice melted, and I lost all the contents of the freezer and refrigerator. The ice container has rust in it (company wont replace), and when I called for service like today, they say Oh we can get there in 2 weeks. After reading all the complaints on this site, KitchenAid must know that its customers are not happy. I will never buy KitchenAid again.I am surprised that in an industry where customer service is king (or should be), this company cares so little about its customers. I would be willing to entertain a class action lawsuit on this company for selling faulty products. I too have to take time off of work every time the repair man comes out. We purchased our home 11 years ago new, with several builders grade items, including a relatively cheap GE dishwasher. We got about 7 years of service out of it, and decided to upgrade to a quiet KitchenAid dishwasher we bought at Lowes. Within 2 years, the plastic pieces of the upper rack started to crack. When we called KitchenAid to get them replaced, they told us that a) they were now owned by Whirlpool; b) the rack and parts werent covered by a warranty. So they kindly offered to sell us the parts. We bought them, at about 1/4 of the cost of the entire dishwasher. Now its been two years, and those same parts have cracked again. The dishwasher wont even come on at this point. What a horrific experience. I always thought KitchenAid was a good brand. I will NEVER buy another KitchenAid, or Whirlpool appliance again. This was dishwasher model #KUDS30IXBL1.

We have an 18-month old KitchenAid refrigerator - high end model with the freezer on the bottom. It began to leak water that settled at the bottom of the freezer. After a time, it would freeze so much that it would eventually leak out onto the floor. We looked in the book - no help there. I found your forum and a problem just like ours (same model even). They said it turned out to be a grommet that was too small and that a new style had been developed. So we wrote to KitchenAid about this. They denied that there were any problems. After several conversations with them and a copy of one of your forum notes on this, they finally did agree to at least pay for the part. Well the appliance man came and fixed it. It was indeed the old style grommet. He said it happens all the time. We wrote to them again and asked them about paying the labor (part was about $12 and the labor is $100). No, they would not do this. Apparently, according to the repairman, this refrigerator is not the only one with this problem. This model is also sold by Maytag and some other - maybe Sears? Just slap a different name on them and they all have this problem. So buyer beware. Make sure that they check this out before you bring it home or you too will be paying the price to fix it. We really bought what we thought was a quality product (now that we are retired and didnt want to have to deal with repairs all the time). So much for that! KitchenAid support was of no help at all. Purchased KitchenAid refrigerator in Jan. 2013 for 2,500. Fast forward to Feb 2017, freezer defrosts food overnight. Freezer full of food lost. Next fridge no longer cooling. Call local appliance repair company. Comes out same day! Informs me he is unable to repair issue and advises that it is a recall issue and provides me all recall info. Well, calling Whirlpool customer service was the worst customer service I have ever received. After 2 calls and 2 hours later, finally got an appointment booked for a tech to come repair issue, but was told this repair would be at my expense as Whirlpool disputes the fact that this is a recall, even though I had the service point number quoted to me by a qualified repair technician. Regardless refrigerator needed repair. Was told I would receive call from agent evening before appointment date. No call. Appointment window I was given was 9am-5pm, by 2pm not even a phone call yet. Called CS line again and was advised no tech would be coming out to my home. No sympathy at all from any agent I dealt with, in fact, found them all to be extremely rude!! It is exactly only 2 wks. since we purchased a KitchenAid French door fridge. Last night clicking sounds were emitting from the fridge to which we could not find the source. This morning to our shock and horror all of the frozen food were thawing out, the refrigerator section did not feel as cold as it should be as well. Knowing we are under warranty we called KitchenAid to try and get service. However, their customer service is also horrible. Was put on hold listening to idiotic music for over 15 minutes with no one coming to answer the call. That is totally unacceptable. In the meantime, we read the internet information saying that clicking noises signify a faulty compressor. This is really astounding considering that the fridge is just a couple of weeks in our possession. We have never had any major appliance fail badly like this and so quickly too. To conclude, we are returning to that major big box store where we purchased this defective appliance from and will have it returned. And we will NOT purchase another KitchenAid product ever again, not even to replace this damaged, useless fridge! Also we do not recommend anyone to waste good money and precious time on considering purchasing any KitchenAid product. Ironically we were told by the delivery person that KitchenAid is a durable, high end brand. It definitely isnt!!

Thanks to Youtube, the repair is relatively simple, although the entire double oven must be removed from the wall to replace the fuse. Appliance repair is a minimum of $200- 250. EVERY time the self-clean is used, the fuse blows. Therefore, self-clean CAN NOT be used. Terrible design and useless self-cleaning.

Purchased in March 2012. Control panel goes blank, no power, lights and etc. Must go to the house breaker panel and switch dishwasher breaker to off and back to on to reset the control panel on the dishwasher. Operates fine for a while then goes dead again. Have to perform process over and over. KitchenAid says no repairman available in my area. Will get Sears to service and replace control panel which is under 5 year warranty. I have purchased my last KitchenAid appliance!

We spent $6000.00 for a built-in side by side 48 inches refrigerator. Nothing but trouble with the ice machine. First, it froze up soon after purchase. They sent a appliance person out. He said just break up the ice. How stupid was that? The next appliance person, the water is leaking into the motor of the ice dispenser freezing it up. When exposed, you could see all the frozen ice. A lot of it. No wonder the motor wont work, it was frozen up. When the new part came, it had a new part with it. This rubber washer was to stop the water from going into the motor and freezing it again. Now these motors are not cheap. So this was a design flaw. Here we go again: same problem even with the new rubber washer. It’s frozen up solid. It makes a lot of ice you just can’t get it out of the dispenser. I am sure there are a lot of people that have this same problem. This started before the warranty was out. This is a two years and 9 months appliance. There’s trouble with the ice maker all the time. They just tell you your warranty is out even though they made a flaw in the ice machine design.

I bought a kitchenaid 3 years ago because I thought it was an elite appliance brand. Little did I know this would be the biggest nightmare. I have in the last 3 years have had the refrigerator replaced 2 times. The last was replaced in April and then has once again gone out on me. A refrigerator full of brand new COSTCO groceries completely spoiled. Over $300 of groceries and I was offered $75. To top off the inconvenience of having spoiled food with 3 children they can not fix it for another 5 days. So we are over a week now without a refrigerator and a trash full of groceries. Beyond frustrating!!! Only wishing we could just have our money returned to us or yet replace it with another refrigerator that is not the same or like the same model we have been given.

I loved my two year old KitchenAid Dishwashers until it started falling apa
I loved my two year old KitchenAid Dishwashers until it started falling apart. Literally, we found disintegrated plastic pieces and ball bearings in the dishwasher. The plastic and ball bearings are part of the rolling racks. Seriously? The dishwasher is only two years old and it is disintegrating before our eyes. I couldnt believe it. Then I started to Google KitchenAid Dishwashers and ball bearings immediately popped up - indicating clearly other customers have had the identical problem. KitchenAid - what can we do??? Should I buy replacement parts? Advise us please!

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDC20CVSS4 in September 2010 to match all my other KitchenAid SS appliances. It will not totally rinse off top rack dishes and glasses of food residue, and as a result, food particles harden on them so bad that I must soak them in the sink to get them cleaned. I had repairmen out periodically since November 2010 to fix the problem. I have been told to run hot water before starting dishwasher, scrape/rinse dishes thoroughly before washing, switch to liquid Cascade from powder or tablets because H20 doesnt get hot enough to dissolve it, and to run dishwasher with 1/2 to 1 cup white vinegar on occasion. Nothing has worked. The bottom line is that we bought an $800.00 lemon with no recourse. Oh yeah, I was also told that new dishwashers are all made the same since the government enforced new Energy Use standards. I think its baloney being sold to me in order not to buy a new dishwasher (which we are considering). KitchenAid knows about the problems with this unit since it is now discontinued and replaced! I wish they would replace my dishwasher and start a class action suit against KitchenAid.

When my wife and I decided to do a complete kitchen renovation some six yea
When my wife and I decided to do a complete kitchen renovation some six years ago, we chose to install all major Kitchen Aid appliances based in large measure on their corporate slogan For the way its made. Since then, one of the two hinges securing the top of the deli drawer compartment in the fridge (KBFS20ETSS) had broken off. Because of the high price we were quoted for what is simply a cheap molded piece of plastic, we chose to forgo that replacement. Next, the ice cube maker became jammed requiring a service call that cost us $64.20 to repair. Then, several months ago, we saw that the soap dispenser door on the dishwasher (KUDT03FTSS) was apparently opening after the wash cycle was completed leaving the detergent packs that we use lying unopened at the bottom the washer. The result of course, was dirty, unwashed dishes. When a local repair service that I called in advised me (at a service call cost of $80.25) that the problem was likely due to a module failure, I was directed to a Kitchen Aid-authorized service facility, Alliance Appliance of Brick NJ. Between their initial diagnostic service call and subsequent repair, I was billed $405.10.Less than a month later, the same problem occurred once again, and again Alliance was called in. This time, we were told that a new dispenser assembly was needed and would be ordered by them. Having not heard from Alliance in weeks, I phoned them this morning for a parts status update. I was told that the part had never been ordered pending my authorization to pay yet another $60. I was never advised of this charge and apparently would have never been notified of the status had I not called. Frustrated and angry, I declined to pay any additional charge. This history of problems was sent to KitchenAids correspondence team on 10/17/14. On 10/28 I received a voicemail message from the company in response to my letter. The following day I called the number that was left thinking that it would be a direct line to the person that had left the message. Instead, the 800 number that I was given was a general one that had me waste yet time sifting through the usual menu of prompts and questions before I was able to finally connect to a live person who voiced her concern for my problems but refused to do anything about them other than to contact the factory authorized repair service I had used to relate my dissatisfaction. In total, service on the $5,000.+ we paid for our Kitchen Aid products has thus far come to just shy of $550. Not factoring in the time spent on the phone and waiting for scheduled appointments to show up. I think youd agree that having to spend this amount of time and money on Kitchen Aid appliance repairs makes a mockery of the companys slogan.
