We purchased a KitchenAid Superba Architect Series double oven (model # KEBC208KSS02) in 2003 for our new-built home. After using the self-cleaning oven, the display of the oven went completely out and the oven doors were locked. We had the oven repaired (we had to replace the motherboard which was over $800 once the repairs were completed) and 3 months later we had the mother board go out again. We were then told the board was only under warranty for 90 days (we were just out of warranty on the board) and that we would have to purchase another board. This is absolutely unacceptable.I have read so many forums and complaints online about this same problem and am disgusted that KitchenAid has not done anything about this. When we phoned KitchenAid about this problem to file a complaint, they would not do anything about it.

Terrible service, terrible appliance, bought the Kitchenaid French Door Stainless steel fridge. Initially doors rusted, blamed us, replaced one door then stated if it happened again it was due to our climate??? Both doors are now rusted and it constantly leaks. Repair man said typical of this fridge due to cooling system. He suggested defrosting and keeping fingers crossed. Great philosophy! Now the ice maker no longer works and it leaks out the front every 3-4 days as the cooling system ices up. Called Sears, called manufacture, no one is interested now that the item is purchased. Worst appliance ever purchased.

I purchased six appliances when I upgraded my kitchen: refrigerator, range, microwave oven, trash compactor, and beverage center to the tune of $10,000. At this point, I would never recommend KitchenAid to anyone. The microwave broke and the part was never available. After months of arguing, I had to get a new one. The refrigerator’s thermostat went out and they did not make the part. I had to get a new refrigerator/freezer. Now, I ran the clean cycle on the oven and the oven overheated and locked up for the second time. The oven is now not operable and I will have to pay a service man to put in another new thermostat. My research shows over 400 complaints. These ovens are a poor design and the self-cleaning feature cannot be used. In addition, I have had to have the trash compactor repaired. The appliances are 36 months old. And when I call KitchenAid, they really dont care to resolve the issues. Very frustrating!

We purchased a KitchenAid two drawer dishwasher in November 2011. Soon after install and a couple wash cycles, the machine began to make loud (heard throughout our entire home) noises during both the wash and dry cycles. Our dealer was contacted and our first repair completed. Now after three repairs with no success and multiple calls to KitchenAid, we are left with an obscenely loud machine that basically just houses dishes. The machine does not clean nor dry and makes such awful noises that we are left to hand wash our dishes. And when we absolutely must run the machine, we do so when we are leaving the home so we do not have to hear the noise. After yet another call to customer service today, I was told that our replacement request was denied and yet another service call would have to be scheduled. The quality of this machine and your customer service are unacceptable. If I could return all my KitchenAid appliances and never have to deal with your company again, I would.

I have 10+ yr old KitchenAid Superba double ovens. I was baking cookies at 350 degrees in top oven. I took one tray out after 7 minutes and cookies on top were burnt. Door locked itself before I was able to move other cookie trays around. Smoke in oven and perhaps oven fan not working. We turned the wall breaker on and off several times to restart the electronics, which seemed to indicate fan was working when electricity was on. After an hour of oven smoking, refusing to open and oven message of too hot, flames were seen through the door, like a smoldering fireplace. I ended up calling 911 for oven fire. After trying to open the door and let smoke out, the appliance cooled down apparently while firemen were in the kitchen so that the flames dissipated and door would open. Apparently, the flames were from the cookies igniting.

Our Failed Kitchen Aid Refrigerator KFIS29BBMS02 Ser#K35102755 - We purchased this refrigerator January 2013. The ice maker went out right away and was replaced on under warranty. Then in 2016 it fell apart. Another ice maker (Two) more actually, new control panel, new compressor. Service Dealer in Omaha tried to fix it 5 times with new parts and recharge the system. Last repair was 1-3-2017. Sent a letter to KitchenAid & Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha. NFM called back and said they could do nothing since we did not buy extended warranty. KitchenAid did not respond. It went hot again this week and no ice and lost frozen food for the 5th time. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! They told my service guy that they know they have a problem but my serial number does not apply. If I ran my company this way we would be broke with no customers. Buyers beware of KitchenAid.

I purchased an all new KitchenAid appliances in 2006 and have had major problems with them. The microwave was a fire hazard because it would randomly start on its own with nothing in it. A service technician was out several times to repair it (three trips in all). Now, the electric range (Model: KESA907PSS02) is not working again! We had the electronic range control and the touch pad replaced within the first year. They were covered under warranty. The same problem occurred this month and KitchenAid (Shari) will do nothing to remedy the problem. The cost to repair the range will be well over $450.00 if we have a technician do the work. I spoke with Shari from KitchenAid and she was not the least bit supportive or apologetic. She kept saying that it was no longer under warranty and there was nothing she could do. They have very poor customer service given my ongoing appliance issues. She was well aware of my appliance issues but was not at all concerned or helpful in providing assistance. We paid more money for the KitchenAid appliances than what we could have spent on other brands because we thought that we were getting premium appliances (definitely not so). Paying more does not mean that they are better! I will never purchase another KitchenAid product and will share my experience with others. They have horrible customer service and poor overpriced products. Shame on them for taking advantage of consumers and not providing a product that stands the test of time. I have paid for this range twice due to the repair costs over the years and I cannot afford to do so especially in these economic times. KitchenAid needs to address consumer satisfaction and produce a better product that warrants the high price tag.

KitchenAid is saying that they will not pay for fixing my gas range repair
KitchenAid is saying that they will not pay for fixing my gas range repair that I purchased a year and half ago. This is the second time that we used the self clean, and it just stopped working. They sent a repair guy out. The first thing he said was, oh, this happens with the self clean mode. Ill show you another way to do self cleaning without it breaking down. Now they are saying they wont pay for the repair because I had the racks from the stove top in the oven so that I could get them cleaned. It does not say in the owner manual to not clean them in self cleaning. And I dont understand why that would affect it??? Please help! I just purchased the extended warranty for another 5 years, and cant afford to pay $850 out of pocket! KitchenAid are really thieves!!! Model number KGSS907SSS03.

In the past 8 year I have built 2 new homes on the upscale side of the housing market. In both situations I used higher appliances from KitchenAid. For the investment made, I am very dissatisfied with quality of the produce drawers. On both drawers, the chrome deco on the drawer handle has come loose dueto faulty adhesive and both drawers have cracked in the center of the drawer handles. This is something I would expect from a 300.00 refrigerator, not one over 2000 dollars @ builders cost. In addition, I had the ice maker replaced in 6 months due to a faulty board, which is something you as manufacturers are aware of, but failed to advise the consumer. We have replaced the ice maker board and now will address replacing both produce drawers. I must say that after less than one year of ownership and facing the fact that all the other series of appliances are also KitchenAid products, I am waiting for the next problem to occur. I come from a family of builders, both residential and commercial and intend to advise them to consider other upscale appliance manufacturers on future projects. If this letter never goes up the management ladder I am sure I will receive the same reply as my last e-mail, indicating that your Customer Service Department also needs repair. Being an owner of several national companies myself, I am very aware of the damage that can be done by not reacting to a problem, where consumers are involved. Thank you.

Three years ago I upgraded my entire kitchen with stainless KitchenAid appliances, after much research - with a hefty price tag. I liked that the products were made in the USA and that they were considered high-end appliances. I even replaced a Bosch dishwasher (it did not live up to its reputation). The oven cost $1500 and change at the time of purchase, and the model is now over $1900. Two and a half years later my oven started having problems - it turns off during cooking and will not come back on. I had repair people out several times but they could not fix it. Turns out it needs a whole new keyboard, which is over $800 just for the part. I tried to contact KitchenAid customer service - yes, this was out of the 1 year warranty but I felt that it should not be having such problems after only 2.5-3 years (the oven that I replaced was 15 years old and was in perfect working order - and was a much lower-end appliance).Anyway, I have tried in vain to get KitchenAid to help me but they will not. My dishwasher has also had several pieces fall off that have had to be replaced. You would think this company would help their customers but no, they ignored my letter. All I wanted was to purchase a new oven at a discount - which they would normally allow but they will not let me do so because I have a home warranty plan (which I had not used to help in any way other than to diagnose the issue). Shame on KitchenAid for such horrible customer service, and for selling overpriced appliances that do not last and definitely are NOT worth the high prices. I have a KitchenAid stainless steel side by side built in fridge. In August 2015, it started beeping constantly. I had a KitchenAid service person to my home. Immediately, thereafter, my fridge stopped working completely. The service person came to my home again and got the fridge working but it still beeps constantly (24 hours a day). I called KitchenAid last week to follow up on my replacement part and I still have no answer from them. Very poor service for a very expensive product.

I called KitchenAid service and spoke to a supervisor. I told her that I have had one of their fridges for under 4 years, and had purchased the extended warranty. She expressed no interest in looking at photos of the hundreds of small rusty colored spots all over the front of my fridge. She did not seem interested in finding out what caused them. She told me I would have to pay for a service call, as they only warranty cosmetic damage for 30 days. I have always used stainless steel cleaner on my appliances and the fridge is the only appliance that has these dots. KitchenAid offered to help whatsoever. Terrible customer service; will never buy their products again.

I purchased a KitchenAid KDRP463LSS in August 2007 and have had nothing but problems. While it was under warranty, the fan/blower started making noise and had to be replaced. Now, some 4 years after I initially purchased the unit, I attempted to do a self clean, only to have it stop in the middle of the cycle. The control panel is dead and the oven door will not open. I see many of the same complaints on the internet with KitchenAid ranges. I will never purchase another KitchenAid appliance again and I would be very interested in participating in a class action lawsuit against KitchenAid.

I have purchased two KitchenAid gas ranges (yes, I should have learned my lesson the first time!). Both have been seriously problematic. Within a year of purchase, both locked up when I cleaned them for the first time, and I could not use them without a tech coming to my house to repair. One of those ranges had a faulty fan which did damage to another part due to overheating during the cleaning process, which resulted in damage to other parts! Most recently, the electronic range control on my Architect II went on my three-year-old gas range. So back to the repair techs. I will never purchase another KitchenAid stove. Based upon my experience and that of others, they are simply poorly manufactured and not reputable. Repair costs are ridiculous and I am thinking of replacing mine due to the high repair costs and lack of faith in this happening once again, at a time when I really need to use the stove!

I purchased the KitchenAid KESK901SSS Electric Slide In Range five years ag
I purchased the KitchenAid KESK901SSS Electric Slide In Range five years ago as part of a kitchen remodel. My experience is that the product is inferior and cannot withstand normal use, and parts are prohibitively expensive. A few years ago it cost me $600 to replace cooktop after a bottle fell on it and was not covered by insurance. More recently, after spilling water on the stovetop the oven control unit stopped working. Who would engineer a range that cannot withstand a water spill??? I was told by the technician sent by insurance carrier that replacement parts again were expensive -- in the $500-$600 range. Since I had insurance, I thought that this would be an easy fix. After waiting two months, it turns out that the replacement parts are unavailable! The best insurance would offer was a buyout at a fraction of the original cost of the product. I checked with a reputable appliance repair shop to see if I could have it repaired on my own. They wouldnt touch it... They said that parts were expensive, could not guarantee that it would even work, and that they have gotten stuck in the past. I am now forced with the inconvenience and expense of purchasing a new range at current prices which are twice as much as original model. In addition, since the original product did not slide in flush to the wall (there is a 3 gap), I need to have my custom granite countertop modified to accommodate a new range. I am very dissatisfied with KitchenAid (and its parent company, Whirlpool) quality and service.

Shortly after the initial warranty expired, I started having issues with all the appliances. $9,000 Fridge - the freezer is icing over and leaking on the floor. Dishwasher - cheap plastic bracket broke; cost me $300 to fix. Microwave oven - display panel malfunctioning and microwave light went off. Light stopped working after a year. You can buy a cheap microwave at Sears and the light wont go out for 10 years. Stove - this one is fresh, after you light the stove and walk away, the auto light clicker continues to go off. I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher a year and a half ago. When I moved in the house, there was a perfectly good working dishwasher in the kitchen, only problem was it was from the 1970s. I replaced it with a sleek stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher. It worked flawlessly until just after the warranty expired. First, the top shelf did not get very clean despite my efforts to clean the jets. Then the rollers of the top tray broke making it very difficult to operate the tray. I suspect this is why it is not cleaning well because the tray is misaligned. Now, the dishwasher often does not work at all. It beeps and nothing else. It even beeps if both trays are removed. KitchenAid was not helpful at all when I contacted them. Avoid!!!

Also, the ice maker is freezing over. After 4 warranty service calls, the problems were never fully resolved. Now, we have water which flows into the freezer compartment and freezes on the bottom. We bought a KA fridge KSF26C7XYY04 with an extended warranty service plan. Thank goodness! We have had 3 service calls in a 6 month period. The fridge is only 2 years old. The evaporator and ice dispenser motor had to be replaced. I just called again because once again the freezer is not working. I have thrown out food 3 times now. I have a 5-hour service repair window every time the company that services the warranty comes out. Last time the part took so long to come in that I waited for almost 4 weeks to get my fridge fixed. This purchase has been a total nightmare! If we did not have the warranty, KA would not even talk to me. There is zero customer service. I was actually told today that with the internet I should have done my homework by their own customer service! That says it all. Sad state of affairs. I will never buy a KA appliance ever again. Once the warranty runs out and I cant get them to continue to fix this fridge, I will take the loss and buy a new non-KA fridge. This company completely sucks. All 3 drawers on the fridge side are broken. Same issue where the face of the drawer has come off. I had one drawer replaced which broke again. KA wont stand behind their poorly made product. They want me to buy them for $125/drawer. I refuse to spend any more money on this piece of poorly made appliance. I duct tape them! SO sad.

I cannot believe that Kitchen Aid does not provide repair part 2307028 (W10219463)! My home is only 8 years old and a showcase of high-end KitchenAid built-in stainless steel appliances; 48 wide refrigerator, microwave, warming drawer, double drawer dishwasher and gas stove with steamer. This Gemini Electronic Control is for the refrigerator (and, according to the service technician, in the stove as well). There are all kinds of complaints on the internet about KA refrigerators running continuously with a sonar-like pinging noise diagnosed as this faulty board. It is unbelievable that I have a $9K refrigerator for which KA will not provide a replacement part. According to the KA recommended service company, the only solution is to send the board off to a refurbisher. I dont like to buy parts from someone that is not supported by the manufacturer. Not that they may not do a good job, but that its not a new part, factory tested with manufacturer warranty. If this is what I can expect from KA, then as these appliances need to be replaced, I will change to a manufacturer who supports their products. Unbelievable, KitchenAid (Whirlpool)! This is probably a $50 part to manufacture that they could sell easily for $300. How can they anger so many customers? One comment said that KA told them this was due to the Tsunami in Japan that wiped out the plant. We had a plant affected as well at my company and its not hard to take the design to another manufacturing location.

Very poor cleaning performance. To get clean dishes, you become the person in that commercial who must wash the dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher. As my daughter says, this isnt a dishwasher, its a sanitizer. What doesnt come clean? A coffee cup that sat overnight (coffee stains remain), a dish that was rinsed and 90% scrubbed that was put into the dishwasher immediately (before the food dries), knives with even a tad of peanut butter that was not 100% scrubbed off. Salesman told me it was their best seller and could clean the spots off a cat. They tell me that for my dishwasher to perform this badly, it must be a lemon. After nearly an hour on the phone with KitchenAid , I learned that if they send a technician out to check it, Ill owe $120 for the service call if the only problem is that the dishes arent clean. Yup, unless a service code/error comes up, Ill owe for them checking to see why it cleans so poorly. Cleaning dishes does not constitute a functional failure therefore dirty dishes are not covered by the warranty. Another call with a supervisor and theyre finally sending someone out and promised not to charge me as long as the technician can see how the dishes dont come clean (not a problem...since that happens every time).UPDATE: A trusted service technician came out today and ran it through its paces. No error codes. Nothing wrong though he agreed that the dishes that were not cleaned were something that hes experienced too. He said that the machine is as good as it can be and noted that the poor cleaning is probably from the new engineering that uses much less water. He suggested using TOUGH and HI TEMP every time and that it might cut the dirty dishes down to 10% or so. Not exactly a rave review and since its not defective Im stuck with a dishwasher that only sanitizes. The tech told me that any decent dishwasher does NOT require you to wash the dishes first; He said that a good rinse that removes the food particles is enough. He agreed that a dishwasher should actually do much better than the selection of still-dirty dishes on my countertop after the testing. But per KitchenAid, theres nothing wrong with my machine. If youre okay with COMPLETELY washing the dishes before putting them into the dishwasher OR rewashing about 1/4 of the load after doing a thorough rinsing before this machine, then buy it. Its very quiet and pretty. But if you expect a dishwasher to wash dishes well, dont say I didnt warn you. When you pull your dishes out after doing a load in this machine, you will remember this cautionary tale. Ill admit that I usually dismiss one or two bad reviews -- that person must be super picky or to the unit was a rare lemon. Im here to tell you that IF you get a machine like mine, and you go to KitchenAid for support, youll be logging on to write a review that continues my warning to others.

A 30 day warranty? Seriously? This dishwasher replaced another KitchenAid that never worked right & completely failed after 3 years. Now going to Bosch. KitchenAid will never be my choice again! If youre thinking of buying KitchenAid major appliances, read the letter I recently sent to KitchenAid below. I got a legalistic form response offering nothing, not even an apology. They even got my name wrong. Never again.I am writing about a series of problems I have had with several large KitchenAid appliances. I have never written a complaint letter before, but the coincidental problems with your products reminds me of the planned obsolescence complaints from 30 years ago about American made cars. I thought about just posting all of this on the internet, but thought I should give you a chance to respond first. Here is my story. On December 2, 2004, I bought three major KitchenAid appliances as a part of a high-end kitchen renovation. A built in refrigerator was the big ticket item, but I also bought a gas stove/electric range, and a silent dishwasher, all brushed silver. Together, the three items cost me $11,494.35.Everything worked fine until this past spring, but within six months, all three appliances have had major problems. The compressor on the refrigerator failed. You covered the parts, but I paid over $600 in labor. A hinge on the door of the dishwasher rusted out, and I replaced it for over $300. Currently, the washer motor on the dishwasher is screaming every time it runs. Ive been quoted a cost of about $500 to replace it. What about the stove? This past summer the small control board (near the dials) failed, and I had to replace that at a cost of over $400. Last week, the large control board misfired, turning the oven my 16-year old daughter was using to make cupcakes on to clean mode, locking the door, setting the cupcakes on fire, and sending plumes of smoke throughout the house. Luckily, I was home from work with an injury, and thought to flip the circuit breaker. The fire died after about an hour, and the door opened when I put the breaker back on. I just replaced the big control board at a cost of over $500.All told, Ive paid over $2,200 to repair very expensive appliances that are less than 10 years old, and I still have a screaming silent dishwasher. How do you explain this? Planned obsolescence? If so, you certainly have the timing down pat. So why am I writing? I am hoping you will do the right thing by me and in making appliances that last. What is the right thing to do for me? Cut me a check for $2,200? Fix my dishwasher for free? Give me all new appliances and install them? Send me a letter of apology? Im not sure. I will leave that to you. I do hope someone responds. It might be cathartic for me to post a bunch of nasty reviews on the internet, but I hope there is a more constructive alternative.

This is an update to my post here on 11/24/2011. KitchenAid dishwasher KUDE70CVSS2, 1.5 years old, sanitized light was blinking at end of sanitize wash, i.e. water was not heated up high enough to sanitize the dishes. Finally, it was repaired today, 2/8/2012, almost 11 weeks since it broke. We had 8 service repair visits made by 4 technicians from 2 service repair companies. During this period, the printed circuit board was replaced twice. We were told our hot water supply was not hot enough by one technician who didnt come prepared with a thermometer. A different visit and technician with a thermometer measured it at 142 degrees, well above the 120 degrees the KitchenAid manual says is needed. We were told the problem was in our household wiring. That was a miscommunication between one service repair company and the extended warranty company. Then the entire washer unit with pump and diverter valve was replaced, today, the 8th visit, and the unit now sanitizes and works just fine. Now Ill tell you how to navigate through the bad technicians, miscommunications and so on that I learned after being frustrated when the second service call did nothing to fix the problem. Inside the kick panel of the KitchenAid dishwasher is a large folded paper enclosed in a waterproof pouch. It a technicians debug sheet that describes how to operate and analyze the results of a built-in self test. Yes, these dishwashers can perform a rather complete self test that concludes with a code indicating what the problem is. Read the sheet in your washer to understand the proper sequence of front panel button presses needed to begin the self test. But beware, the test in my washer can be run to either display the concluding results, or skip the display. You will need to run it in the display mode to read the results, duh. Duh, because the first technician kind of ran it in the other mode and never saw the result. None of the other technicians even ran the self test. It takes about 27 minutes to run, and you have to sit and watch the lights flash so as to catch the final conclusion. Huh, KitchenAid? The technicians would rather just replace stuff than wait 27 minutes to find out whats wrong. But I ran it, not just once, but many times, and I always got error codes 4-1 and 4-4. And the documentation says that one of the causes of a blinking sanitized light is error codes 4-1 or 4-4. Duh again, only on the 7th service call did the technician say lets see what 4-1 and 4-4 are and the answer was an issue with the diverter valve, so he ordered a new one, replaced it on the 8th visit and the washer runs just fine. So run that self-test, get the error codes, then insist the repair company fix the error reported by the self-test. With each technician, I point to the KitchenAid refrigerator I bought in 1987 that still runs well, and, each has chirped, dont buy another KitchenAid refrigerator. Im not buying another KA dishwasher either!

Bought fridqe 5/30/13. First Geek squad guy was at our home in August due to water dripping inside fridge. Geek squad was out at least 7 other times, replaced everything inside stove too (kept turning itself off). Bought extended warranty from Whirlpool, but not really whirlpool. Assurance is extended warranty company? Started sending AAA appliance out, theyve replaced everything inside at least once, some twice. Still doesnt make ice and leaks. They call whirlpool but apparently should be calling Assurance. AAA can’t fix it, told whirlpool it needs to be replaced. Assurance knows nothing about it? What a nightmare. Ill never buy whirlpool again. Just want what I paid for!!

We have had a #kitchenaid fridge for 2 years now. The service techs from #PoirierSalesandService have been here at least 4 times. Each time I asked that they replace the fridge, and each time they elected to repair it, stating that my fight was with KitchenAid, not Poirier, despite the fact that they sold it to me. We recently noticed a leak coming from the fridge that has now damaged our cabinets and floor beyond repair. The technician said that theres a crack in the drain pan which you couldnt have caused, meaning that it has been there since the fridge was installed. We have an 7 month old baby girl, and now have mold growing from where the unit was installed. Poirier has at least agreed to file a claim with their insurance to address the cabinets and floor. This is however, apparently of no concern to Kitchen Aid as they have told me that replacing the unit is not an option. I urge all of you reading this to not buy from a company like Whirlpool/KitchenAid, who clearly disregards the well being of their customers, for the sake of profit, and as such chooses not to stand by their product, post sale.

I purchased a side by side Kitchenaid (KRFC704FSS00) fridge in April 2017 and was so excited for this beautiful appliance! It was their newest model, with all the latest features and upgraded interior and had a hefty price tag. After a few months our ice machine was not working properly so we had to have a technician come out. They told us this machine does not produce large amounts of ice and makes it every 3 hours. With a family of six this is not cutting it, there is never any ice!!!Woke up this morning to find our Fridge had DIED!!! No power and all the food was spoiling. The board blew out after 16 months of purchasing. Absolutely ridiculous. And of course since it has been over 1 year since purchase, so it is no longer covered under warranty. $500 later to have the unit fixed. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I will never purchase a Kitchenaid/Whirlpool product again!

Bought Kitchenaid Model #KUDE40FXSS5 in 2012. Within first year the top rack fell off the runners and had to be replaced. As that was under warranty Kitchenaid sent repair kit, but we had to install it. March 30, 2017 I started cycle. Within minutes water was pooling in front of the dishwasher. Turned off cycle. Drained water from dishwasher and called repairman. He knew immediately what the cause of leak was as he had seen it often. The ring that connects and tightens a water hose to the pump was not tight enough. The original ring could not be tightened as it was installed at the tightest possible connection allowed by that plastic ring. He replaced with a Bosch metal screw tightening ring. Called Kitchenaid and they refused to help with payment for repair. This machine cost $1200 new. This is inexcusable and I will never recommend this product.

I purchased a KitchenAid built-in dishwasher last fall and if it wasnt so difficult to take out I would not have kept it. Not only was it costly, the top tray does not stay in and you have to hold it while filling the bottom tray. The two trays are so close together that you cannot use the utensils box to hold a knife or spatula or a large spoon. Even plates and cutting boards will stop the sprayer from rotating. KitchenAid® 27-Inch Single Wall Oven, Architect® Series II - I purchased this Oven October 5, 2013. It was installed October 24, 2013. On December 31, 2013 it stopped working. I called for service and they could not get to me until January 6, 2014. The serviceman came out that morning and took a look at the oven and found that the fuse had blown in it. Lucky me they did not have one in stock and they had to order one. The fuse came in on January 8, 2014 and they came out and installed it. I did not use the oven again until January 14, 2014 because of some other issues in my kitchen. January 14, 2014 I turned it on and used it to bake something. It worked fine. I walked away from it after I was done baking and came back about 45 minutes later and it had died again. It will not come back on. My guess is that it is the fuse again. I would not recommend this oven to anyone!!!!! At this rate I will have a serviceman at my house every week to repair this oven. I called a supervisor at Kitchen Aid January 16, 2014 and they want me to keep the oven and they want to extend the warranty. This will happen when some place freezes over!!!!

Webster’s Dictionary defines “Self-Cleaning” as capable of cleaning i
Webster’s Dictionary defines “Self-Cleaning” as capable of cleaning itself”. In 1963, GE developed the first “Self-Cleaning” oven. After 63 years, Kitchenaid and their AquaLift Technology has turned back time by redefining “self cleaning” to mean: “If you want your oven clean, you’ll have to do it your-“self with a scrubby pad and manual dexterity”. Plain and simple, AquaLift does not clean your oven and does nothing other than soaking the bottom tray for 40 minutes in warm, filtered water. It produces no steam to speak of, which is the principal behind its cleaning method. After 40 minutes of steaming, the water in the bottom tray is lukewarm to the touch and any grease or oven grime in the oven is unaffected. We called KitchenAid about this on 11.29.2019. When you call and ask about their knowledge of this issue, they tell you they have never heard of this problem before, yet after a quick web-search, you’ll find numerous Class Action Lawsuits filed and customer reviews regarding the false claims AquaLift makes. When the sales people at the Big Box store where we purchased the oven were asked how the self-cleaning worked, they only provided positive support for KitchenAids superior technology.During our call to KitchenAid, they suggest to run the Aqualift process multiple times and then scrub the oven with a scrubbing pad between cycles. Kitchenaid even offers to send you a sample of cleaning power named “Affresh”? Why would a “Self-Cleaning” oven need to be run multiple times; need a scrubby pad; and a scrubbing agent if the self-cleaning worked? The best part of “self”-cleaning the oven yourself: To get to the back part of the oven’s walls and back panel, you will have to remove the oven door, unless you can suspend yourself in thin air to avoid laying on the open door to reach these areas. So, when Kitcheaid saying their oven is self-cleaning, it really means clean it your-“self”.

Email to Trail Appliance: I meant to email you earlier but weve been away. All appliances are in and look great. Were just wondering though if a support might be missing from the fridge. Ive attached a couple of pictures to show what I mean. The shelf above the two crisper drawers seems to be missing a middle support? Because as soon as you put any items on it, it really sags in the middle. You can see the glass shelf separating from its white plastic rim and then gap between two crisper drawers getting wider at the bottom. Are we missing a piece or is there anyway to fix this? It seems such an obvious flaw. Trails response: I have checked both units on the floor and neither have a little support... so sorry... It does seem odd that it does not though. My last email to Trail: So what are our options? I must say every time I open the fridge door - what I see (that sagging shelf) is unacceptable. I thought we were upgrading our 17 year old appliances - but it appears not, and Im sure that anyone else who has bought this fridge would be experiencing the same issue. So just wondering what my options are? Does KtichenAid stand behind the supposed quality (or lack thereof) of their products or are we on our own? And what about Trail Appliances? Where do they stand on selling crap (pardon the harsh language) like this? Suggestions? Waiting on response to this last email - but would NOT recommend buying this fridge for this reason.

We purchased a KitchenAid Dishwasher 1 year ago. Worked fine - quiet, clean dishes, etc until 9 months into the purchase. I began noting peculiar smell and dark scum near drain at front right corner. Store informed me that the drain line that went into the new garbage disposal under the sink may be too low. We raised the drain hose to be above and this seemed to work for a couple of days but the swampy odor has returned as well as a chalky haze on some of the dishes on the lower rack. I am now told that the problem may be in the control panel. Really?! This is too new an appliance to have this type of problem. I do not think Consumer Report truly assessed the quality of workmanship when they recommended this dishwasher.

This is a $3000 refrigerator and works far worse than the $600 one in my garage. KitchenAid refuses to do anything to assist so I am pursuing lemon laws.

I am writing on behalf of my elderly mother. She purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears in July 2013 Model KUDL15SXWH5. After two years it leaked water all over the carpet and floor. The problem was the motor and clamp fell right out of the dishwasher. Sears said warranty is over. The repairs will be $300-$500. This is unsatisfactory. She should get a new machine or the repairs no charge from Sears and they should go after KitchenAid. Apparently there are a lot of unhappy customers and no way to contact KitchenAid!

WE bought a complete kitchen set but after one year the 4 lights in the top of the refrigerator stopped working. The place where we bought it, Heber Appliance, could not fix the problem because of the way its designed. It wasnt the bulbs but the wiring. So they gave us a deal on a new one. Now the exact same problem is occurring. The 4 lights in the top of the fridge started flickering a week ago and now are out completely after one year. We will never buy KitchenAid again ever!

Two weeks before the warranty ran out on my Kitchen Aid microwave, the unit started humming by itself while it is turned off. I called warranty center and they came in and repaired it. After the warranty ended, within one month, the same loud humming happened. So I called and had a technician come in and repair it. The unit is now two years old, it starts to hum anytime I turn on my range to cook. I would have to unplug it. Another thing about it is it starts to hum in the middle of the night, and then would turn on by itself. I think that a product like Kitchen Aid should live by its word. I cannot use this unit with trust.

After a spill over from a fruit pie I tried cleaning my oven for the first time. I followed the directions...wipe up the spilled water in the bottom of the oven and the very short cleaning cycle. The water was not even hot when the cycle finished and absolutely nothing happened. The convection oven does not work so its a very expensive stove that I could have purchased in the 60s. Shoddy product.

Our KitchenAid Microwave #KHMS155LSS-4 (manufactured May 2006) has been beeping randomly and flashing the Lock key or F2. Nothing short of disconnecting will stop the beeping. Even after disconnecting the unit, I will power it back up & the Lock key or F2 will appear again & the microwave will not work at all. The beeping will continue for minutes on end. This product is dangerous and after having read the same complaints on Consumer Affairs website, its a major wonder why it has not been recalled as some consumers have stated that the microwave will suddenly turn on. I contacted Kitchen Aid & had a live chat with a rep who said, Based on the issues that youre describing, there are no recalls for the problem with this model and serial combination. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. We can only suggest for an accurate diagnosis and satisfactory addressing of any malfunctioning component that may be contributing to your concern that you contact a local factory certified care provider for further assistance. Would you like some referrals?. This is very disappointing to hear, Kitchen Aid is not doing anything about the issue.

In our conversion to stainless steel we decided on KitchenAid. We got a bundle deal and purchase three appliances from Lowes and, though I normally never do, I purchased the extended warranty. The microwave (MODEL # KCMS1655BSS) quit working within the first year, still under factory warranty. They brought a new one and out of the box, it did not work! They brought another one and it is still working. Shortly after the first year the oven (MODEL # KEBS179BSS00) was not able to consistently get over 400 degrees. After about 6 service calls and replacing two circuit boards and a temp sensor, it appears to be fixed. The problem is, anytime a part is needed to be replaced, it takes at least 2 service calls. The first one to troubleshoot the problem and say, you need a new (part), and then they order it and the second one to install the part. Jump forward a couple months and the refrigerator (MODEL # KFIS29PBMS00) stops making ice. This problem actually started while we were still dealing with the oven problems! I called in the fridge and before the tech even came out, I realized that it was a cooling problem as my ice cream turned to soup. I called Lowes extended warranty and let them know the problem was not the ice maker but a cooling problem. The tech still came out to troubleshoot the ice maker. I pointed out the problem was cooling, showing him the item in the freezer that were thawing. What does he do, order a new ice maker. After probably a dozen service calls and several replaced parts, I told them I wanted my money back. Reading the extended warranty from Lowes, it says that if the appliance is repaired three times for the same problem that they will buy it back from you. They cut me a check for my purchase price and I went to Home Depot and bought a new Fridge, GE this time. I was very unhappy with KitchenAid and very unhappy with Lowes service techs. I was an electronics tech in the Air Force and I was doing better at troubleshooting this problem than these people were. They were so clueless. Warning, KitchenAid and Whirlpool are the same thing! I will say that the extended warranty served it purpose and we did not have to spend a dime on any of these service calls, that is good. But for the three appliances there were probably 23 service calls in less than 2 years! Those are all days that I have to be home between 8 and 1 or 1 and 5. I always pick the earlier time slot. The vast majority of the time I would get a call around 12:50 letting me know they were on the way. They usually showed up well after 1:00, closer to 2:00, not leaving until 3 or later. My day is shot at that point. Thats 23 days of my life I sat in my house waiting for a service technician in just 2 years.

We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher three months ago. We have had at least two previous dishwashers which were fine. This model KDFE104HPS O leaves water on the dishes and the door. We had two repairmen look at it. The most recent said there seems to be no problem even though the dishes do not dry. He stated that 1) The stainless steel models seem to have that problem; 2) We need to get the water hot before starting the dishwasher so it does not lose the first cycle heating the water; 3) We should use a special rinse agent to aid the drying and 4) We should use the extra dry cycle. In addition, there is an odor that smells like a wet blanket and I think I have even smelled mold. I have owned five dishwashers over the years and have never had this problem. The solutions provided by the repairman actually will cost us more money to run the machine. The only good feature is how quiet it runs.

Kitchen Aid Wall Oven. Model #: KEBS109BSS00. Serial #: D23109017. This oven has been trouble since installing brand new October 2016 in our new home construction. Every year we have paid over $200 in repairs with blown thermal fuse, a new gasket, new fan, another thermal fuse, and now another thermal fuse. I have contacted Whirlpool/ Kitchen Aid and they do not stand behind their lemons. This is definitely a LEMON!. It is very SLOW to preheat. I can not use the full functionality of self-clean that we paid for due to blowing the fuse, and completely undependable. (MY OVEN WENT OUT ON THANKSGIVING MORNING!) To date, we have spent more on repairs than we paid for the wall oven. This is a complete disappointment! I would NEVER purchase another oven made by the company.

04/06/2018 - Purchased french door refrigerator (KRFF507E). 09/30/2019 - First repair. Refer making noise and not cooling. Evap fan hitting ice buildup Tech replaced evap fan and thermistor assembly (took over an hour to remove ice build up). Tech also reprogrammed defrost cycle from auto-detect to every 8 hours.02/19/2020 - Second repair. Same problem as first repair except evap fan not destroyed. Contacted KitchenAid service basic response was too bad, so sad. I explained that the problem was a design flaw, not a faulty part problem but that fell on deaf ears. After a bit of debate service stated that replacement parts (from 2/2019) were under warranty. Service tech ended up replacing same parts and a control board. Again, over an hour to remove ice buildup. 08/08/2020 - Third repair scheduled for 8/17/2020. Sour milk, refrigerator temperature running about 57 degrees F. Ice buildup again, waiting for Tech to diagnose. Again KA Service response was too bad, so sad. Service authorized a $50 reimbursement card, which covers about half of technician service charge (not parts). The refrigerator was purchased to replacing an ancient (15 yr+) kitchenaid side-by-side refrigerator/freezer that is still keeping my beer cool and my deer meat frozen! I will never purchase a kitchenaid refrigerator again (maybe anything from Whirlpool).

We had this oven when we purchased the house and it was perhaps the appliance that was least used. Over the past several months we have been getting an error in the control panel F6E0 - Lost Communications. The error would sometimes solve by itself, but this time we waited for about a month before calling a technician. He told us that the control panel would be $700 and the problem may be solved. It may require another control panel replacement which is in the $200 range. Why would Kitchen Aid design products that would last for 5 years when the good old Electric ranges with much less electronics lasted for 20 years. Where is quality? Where is reliability? I perhaps should not blame KitchenAid alone on this. Since we are all demanding (or receiving) products that look more like a computer - we replace it as often as a computer and trash the old ones in China. Further, they declined to post my review on their website - Sure they dont want to see it on their site!

In 2012 I purchased my new home and upgraded to ALL KitchenAid appliances. It was costly and I wish I would have done better research on appliance manufacturers. Just before the warranty was up on the first year, my refrigerator was leaking water. KitchenAid came out and fixed the water dispenser tubing. The repairman suggested that I buy another warranty and to keep buying them. He added that KitchenAid appliances are constantly breaking and the refrigerator was the worst appliance for reliability. I purchased a new 1 year warranty and that was up 1 month ago. I did not renew the warranty this year due to recent unemployment. Now the thermostat is out and it is going to cost me $300.00. I am going to purchase the warranty on all of the other appliances and ride this out. BBB and Consumer Reports recommend Thermador. I will be certain to never buy KitchenAid again and will go with what is recommended by the experts. Thanks KitchenAid!

Purchased KitchenAid dishwasher model: KUDS30CXWH7 in august 2012. I realize that is some time ago. I have been unhappy with this appliance since the first time I used it. The only positive thing I can say is it is more quiet than the previous dishwasher. I have the heavy duty cycle - it is no better than the normal cycle for cleaning pots or pyrex baking dishes. Please understand they are virtually clean when put in the washer yet not thoroughly clean at the end of the cycle. The heat dry cycle dries NOTHING so a dish towel or drying pad must be used daily.I also find it so odd that an appliance that is supposed to clean must also be cleaned with a special dishwasher soap otherwise it smells like a wet dog. I have had repair people here for a variety of dishwasher complaints - some have been remedied - but generally their comments are thats the way new appliances are. They dont clean thoroughly, they dont dry thoroughly, and they will smell unless you use dishwasher cleaner. An unhappy customer.

Refrigerator KSSC42QMS - I bought the above mentioned fridge in August 2004
Refrigerator KSSC42QMS - I bought the above mentioned fridge in August 2004 for $5788 plus tax locally. I had remodeled an older house and redid the whole kitchen, bought commercial grade appliances in stainless steel. The fridge was the top of the line in 2004. Right before Christmas 2014 - 10 years later the fridge started to beep. We could tell there was something not working correct. We called the number on the sticker and were referred to an appliance repair shop. They came out and checked it. I paid $75. I was told that the board was going out and we would have to pay around $200 to have it replaced. Then we received a phone call where we were told there are no more parts available. I was totally shocked. I can understand that that kind of fridges are not build anymore; but that you can’t supply replacement parts for a fridge which was $6000, that’s just not right. Thanks to my son Bernhard, who is very handy and computer savvy, I didnt need to buy a new fridge. He checked online and read all the comments about the boards and the fridges, which were built up to 2007. There were different options for him: they offered to get a new board for $1500 which is the biggest joke, you can buy a nice fridge for that money! Or he could pay $20 for directions to repair the board, or just order the parts to fix the board. Since he didnt need the directions, he just ordered the replacement parts for the board. Obviously anybody can order those parts, just not the Kitchenaid Service Department or the Repair company! What a poor service! To make a long story short: my son ordered parts to repair the board for $18. EIGHTEEN DOLLARS!!! And fixed it himself within 5 minutes! I’m very proud to have a son like him! I always thought Kitchenaid was a great major appliance brand, I guess I was totally wrong. I will never buy anything Kitchenaid.

What a piece of junk! When did KitchenAid allow their products to become inferior to the point of totally frustrating the consumer. KitchenAid used to be a quality product. Ive only had this for 3 years - in the first year the plastic clips broke on the back of the thing and I had to contact a supervisor to get them in time for the holiday. Basically the top rack is worthless - totally and completely worthless. All the plastic pieces snap off and break - clips, rollers, etc. When you try to adjust them to get the rack to go back in so you can close the door the plastic things break. I ordered extra plastic clips when I got them the first time and those have broken. By the second year the bottom rack was falling apart and would not roll back in. The wheels are broken. Furthermore, the electronics is crap. I will use a setting and come back 3 or 4 hours later and it is still running - or trying to run. Half the time the dishes dont even get clean. Im so angry. Im a single parent and spent my tax refund check getting this and it works worse than the 10 year old thing that I had before this junk. At least the 10 year old dishwasher didnt have plastic pieces breaking. Stop making this crap in China and make it in the U.S. with quality parts and quit making it cheaply so that you can blame the Chinese for your own design flaws. Quit paying your CEO a fortune and making crap. Concentrate on making something that lasts. Since KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool I assume the same will be true of Whirlpools quality.

Horrible manufacturing!!! KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDE20IXSS8. Motor only mounted with a very SMALL PLASTIC grommet. Further, from the motor is a rubber hose/gasket that is clamped with a one-time-use flimsy ring. This attaches to the plastic drain pipe. When the grommet failed (vibration, etc), the flimsy plastic ring could not hold the weight of the motor separating the motor with the rubber hose FROM the drain pipe. SEE where Im going here, yes, catastrophic failure. Yup, water gushed out all over my kitchen floor. Under flooring, cabinets, under refrigerator. Water/moisture mitigation was encouraged by insurance company before repairs. Repairman also mentioned he has repaired this same problem 5 times. I looked and looked at gas ranges - I was very excited to be able to use gas again. I selected this Kitchen Aid stove and was not told that the central oval burner, which I paid extra to have, would not provide more than a low flame. You buy the whole 5th unit for just pancakes only! The self-cleaning oven will not clean the sides of the oven, only the pan over the burner. The little top oven is meant only for warming, not baking or cooking because it cooks so unevenly that toast, food and cookies are done on the glass side and burned on the back side. I have had KA service people out twice and they say that thats the way it is and that it registers 350 degrees when checked. I could have bought an oven for less than 1/2 and had a better oven. My husband and I purchased all KitchenAid products for use in a new home we were building in late December 1997. In the first cleaning of the double-wall oven, it locked up; and we had to have the service man from Sears come out and fix it. Since that time, I have had some trouble with the touch pad working and then not working. About 2 weeks ago, I called Sears; and they sent a repair man out to fix this problem. He informed me that the part for my Superba KitchenAid double-wall oven had been discontinued and that I had probably paid $2,700.00 for this oven. Much to my amazement, because we purchased so many kitchen appliances, I had no idea we had paid this price. Nonetheless, he informed me he had other customers whom he had tried to get parts for and gave me very little hope of ever finding the part to repair this oven. So I called KitchenAid and was told it had been discontinued and hopes of finding part number 4451292 was going to be very unlikely. I proceeded to get onto the internet on Ask.com and found a repair site. I did some research and found it has been discontinued and that they dont have any idea of anywhere to get this control pad fixed or purchased. I feel that, after reading all the other complaints on these same malfunctions, there should be some kind of enforcement that KitchenAid or Sears should have warned the public at the time of purchase as to the approximate time you have to get parts for such expensive items. My oven is almost new inside and out. I and my husband (who is now deceased) worked out on the road for many years, and use of this oven was very limited due to us always being gone out on the road. The bottom oven has been used maybe 3 times, and the top oven has not been used hardly at all, compared to my KitchenAid microwave, which we both used all the time.when we were home. My guess would be that it would about compare a thousand or more to one. The touch pad on my microwave is still doing super. After viewing all the complaints on this model number KEBS277DWH1, part number 4451292, and the issues all of us are having with these ovens, I would hope that someone would stand up for us in a class action lawsuit. These products are very expensive, and nobody is helping the consumers on this product problem. Please someone stick up for all of us who need someone who can make this company responsible for such inadequate products. As of today, I have no ovens to cook Easter dinner in, because nobody has a part to repair this. And I am a widow and havent the money ($3,500.00) to buy another one. This is what repair.com wants for another one. Im very dissatisfied and angry with the outcome of all the work and research done and to get nowhere. Help!

KBFS22EWMS4 bought this refrig in late 2012. All seemed fine till 5/2014. Water started leaking from the freezer door. Water had been leaking into the bottom of the freezer and eventually started spilling out on the floor when the defrost cycle ran. I called a tech and he took apart the freezer, cleared the defrost drain, unfroze it and all seemed fine. 1 year 4 months later the same thing again.I called the same tech and when he got here, he pulled out the refrig and took off the bottom back panel and then removed the little rubber drain plug/funnel. He said this was the problem and now he just removed them when he sees this issue. Hes seen this before. It was very sticky (he said) because of the heat. The rubber funnel is about an inch long and about 1/2 inch wide. It has a slit in the bottom of it for the water to pass through. Not a hole, a slit! No wonder the thing leaked, it would get so easily gunked up and with the rubber being so sticky Im sure the slit would stick together and probably make it much easier to freeze. Id call this an engineering issue.Who in their right mind would use a pliable rubber funnel with a small slit in the bottom, it defies logic. There probably should have been no funnel to begin with or at least a hard plastic one with a hole big enough to drain without getting gunked up. Well see if this fix takes. If not, Im buying another (non-Kitchenaid) refrig. Im not putting $100+ each year on the same fridge for something that should have been designed properly.
