Our new refrigerator like others never made it below 50 degrees in the free
Our new refrigerator like others never made it below 50 degrees in the freezer. That refrigerator was replaced after one week (thankfully) but the new refrigerator has never made more than 12 ice cubes! We called and they replaced the icemaker. Now after one week, since that icemaker also doesnt work, we have called again and scheduled another repair service call. At that time, the operator told us to turn down the temp of the freezer (below the recommended temp) so that it will freeze faster. We will see or we will replace this refrigerator with a different brand. It makes me wonder about the brand new KitchenAid dishwasher and oven we purchased at the same time.

We purchased the dishwasher (plus five other appliances) as we understood they were a quality product. After 30 months of minimal use we woke up to a major leak from our dishwasher thankfully not reaching our finished basement. Call in appliance repairman of high quality and had the the whole pump system replaced. The repairman said it was very common replacement on KitchenAid and it was probably a manufacturing issue. Talked with customer service and was told under no circumstances would KitchenAid stand behind their product as we did not call customer service first for service. Without a paper trail they would do nothing. I hope this will help other consumers make a decision on what products they will choose.

3000.00 KitchenAid (purchased in 2014) refrigerator truly a loud disappointment. The buzzing sound from this fridge is so loud we can hardly hear each other talk. I have to crank the volume up on my tv to hear it. I can not afford to buy another refrigerator. This one is only just over a year old. Due to this experience my family has decided to never buy another KitchenAid product again. Our friends feel the same way. No one wants to waste their hard earned money on junk.

Purchased a KitchenAid KSSC48QTS00 about 4 years ago. New though purchased from a freight damage company so no warranty. Paid just over $3,200 when it retailed for $8,500+ so took the risk. BAD DECISION! Started pinging a few weeks ago, had the factory authorized repair person on site that and was informed of the bad board, no replacement problem so many have posted about. Getting ready to send the board to corecentricsolutions.com as theyve gotten good reviews from others with the same issue. No spare fridge so well sort through and keep what we can fit into a couple of coolers.Amazing how many people have posted online in various places with POOR to WORSE customer service from Whirlpool. Checked and just found **. Im betting we see a lot more of this kind of activism against them. I will NEVER buy another KitchenAid/Whirlpool/Maytag/Jenn-Air/Amana product and will do my best to inform anyone that will listen in an effort to get them to do the same.

I purchased my KitchenAid French door refrigerator in August of 2012. I am now waiting for service on the ice maker for the third time. That figures out to once every 10 months, although the last time was just in October 2014 and it is not working again. When I buy top of the line appliances and pay top of the line price, I expect it to work without repairs for a lot longer than that. What is going on with them? The serial # is VS20857521

This was a very expensive dishwasher. I live alone and only use it about twice a week. After only two years, the motor died and they want $350 to put in a new motor. And then they will only put a 90 day warranty on the new motor. Good grief. Im going to get rid of this and never buy a KitchenAid again.

KitchenAid range KDRU783 - This stove has been a nightmare. First, the right-hand front burner was burning with an irregular, bright yellow flame. Called repair; their assessment Lady, you just need to use a bigger pot. (Pardon me, Im a chemist by training, I know incomplete combustion when I see it.) Called again, no better luck; spent several years putting up with carbon deposits on my pots. Finally, the burner became unusable; it literally burst into flame and sent up black smoke. This time I called the repair from the store where I bought it -- a well-known chain -- and they sent a technician who spent time investigating. Found the problem -- a connection to the propane line had come loose. Then, an additional problem occurred: the touch panel would start clicking when we used the left-hand front burners. It would flash on and off at 350 degrees, or 500 degrees, or some other setting but would NOT turn off. At worse, the entire stove -- both ovens -- would become inoperable. This second problem resulted in 3 trips by the repair people, who replaced the unit twice and then a third time with no change. However, the 3rd set of technicians think they have figured out whats going wrong -- and I have an appointment the day before Christmas, thank you very much. Right after they left, a third problem occurred: the left hand back burner next to the griddle keeps sending sparks; we have checked that one of the covers on the burners might be off center, but thats not the case. The result is that the only way we can stop the sparking is to keep the burner turned on low (so that we can use the other burners and the ovens) or to turn off the circuit breaker. I would like to hear from other people who have this range and find out whether this might be a common defect.

Bought the micro/hood 3 years ago and have had nothing but problems with the micro. Starts beeping and the micro has started on its own. I think it is a safety hazard and will start a fire. Have put it on a power bar and turn it off when we are not home and at night. Had the controls switched out twice now to no avail as it still happens. Kitchenaid is sending their repair man again (Sears repair twice) and now Kitchenaid repair man twice. Both could not find the problem. Tired and scared of this darn microwave and want it replaced and out of my house before something terrible happens.

KitchenAid Dishwasher Model #KUDS40CVSS4 - After owning this dishwasher for 22 months the therma fuse has been replaced four times. Should I have it replaced for a fifth time or purchase a new dishwasher? On 5/27/2011, I purchased my KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears. On 5/31/2011, my dishwasher was not functioning. I called KitchenAid who scheduled a service call with Quaker City Service (215-355-4400). A service man replaced the therma fuse in the unit. On 10/12/2011, my dishwasher was not functioning. I called Quaker City Service and they replaced the therma fuse. On 9/19/2012, my dishwasher is not functioning. I called Quaker City Service. They indicated it was the therma fuse and would like to replace the circuit board as well. The repairman indicated the dishwasher could be a fire hazard. On 10/25/2012, the dishwasher was fixed with this special part. On 3/21/2013, the dishwasher overheated during the drying cycle and is no longer working.

It just stops working. The first time, they had to replace a fuse. Now, we are waiting for the repairman to come again. Our warranty will be running out, and this is the second time in the first year we purchased our new dishwasher. We bought a KitchenAid, because we wanted the best. We are very dissatisfied. Will we have to have it repaired every few months? This is unacceptable. I want a new dishwasher.

We bought a very high end Architect series very expensive side by side. Just moved into new house. Awful smell in fridge soaks through food and food then tastes bad. Exceptions are if food is in glass, aluminum, or heavy plastic (not plastic wrap/bags). Water undrinkable. Ice not usable. Smells terrible when opening the door. Purchased through very reputable large distributor who verified on two separate service calls this was fact and made sure not due to other issues. We are using a small backup fridge.Distributor has been calling frequently to KitchenAid rep/service to resolve. KitchenAid has not responded for 13 days since filed complaint. Since installed during building process, not simple to return. Have had other KitchenAid appliances in the past that we were very satisfied, but this is completely unacceptable. We have bought high end appliances from other companies several times and experience is completely different.

I loved the way this fridge keeps produce fresh. However, several months after the warranty expired the ice maker quit working. Service man (recommended by appliance store) replaced it but did not fix the problem. They then replaced the compressor, evaporator, and valves. Quit working again. Now they say that it is a sensor (or a board) and needs to be ordered but will take 1-2 weeks. Ive lost two full freezers loads full of frozen food because the freezer temperature wont go below 30 degrees. Repair man stated that this model has 6 boards that can go wrong and often do. Today, ice maker is not producing ice again! Have another call into serviceman. This is the most expensive ($3,700) and the most problematic refrigerator that Ive ever owned. Am looking for a new refrigerator and am sure that it will NOT be a Kitchenaid.

We purchased this fridge 7 years ago and it is built into our kitchen -- thus not easy to replace with an alternative. It stopped working one week before Christmas. An engineer said that it was the main circuit board that was faulty, We called KitchenAid (Whirlpool) and were told that it could not be repaired and they could not assist in replacing it. They claimed that the company who supplied these boards to them had been destroyed in the Japanese Tsunami and it was not possible to replace them. They actually said to us, You are on your own. How can any responsible manufacturer say such a thing!? Clearly they have no concept of who keeps them in business. They offered 25% off a new fridge (to replace would be $10,000) but would not put this in writing or tell us how we could access the discount. It was impossible to reason with them. In despair we turned to the internet and found 355 similar complaints (all negative) about the same fridge. However, we also found a guy in Florida who said he could repair the board for $120. We had nothing to lose so we sent it to him. He was brilliant, texted when it arrived, texted that he had tested and confirmed it was repairable, texted when he had repaired it, and then texted again to say it was on its way back. Brilliant, all within 24 hours! We fitted it on its return and hey presto, the fridge worked and has continued to do so. So why cant Whirlpool be as caring and offer this service, indeed even work with this gentleman? You can go onto eBay and find the board you need for sale at $1800 (supply & demand!) plus you may also find other similar people who offer to repair the board for around $120. We now have our fridge working again (and have not had to buy a new one and refit the kitchen). However we will NEVER buy a Whirlpool/KitchenAid product again. (They trade under more brand names than just these, so look carefully). Indeed having had a whole spate of other kitchen appliances also break down for various reasons, we have determined to NEVER buy a US-made brand again if we can avoid it. (Marvel are another one to avoid in our view). The only branded kitchen appliances we have that has never broken down is made by Miele and LG. Our kitchen engineer said that this Miele and other German brands (and Korean) are the models they are called out for least. On telling this tale to friends, 3 of them all said that they had the exact same problem with their Kitchen Aid refrigerator at about the same time. One had felt obliged to replace with the same product but 2 others said, Never again with KitchenAid, and purchased other manufacturers. It makes you wonder how any company can stay in business with this level of low quality products and poor customer service. I suppose if you have bought up most of the competition (at least in North America), you can feel that you control the market and thus dont need to care. Complacency is the beginning of most disasters!

After a thunderstorm and lightning storm our power went off. When the power came back on we had no control board lights - none. Oven not working. Called repair man - waited 2 days for new power board and replaced it. Same thing - no control board. Now he says he needs to change the control panel boards because he gets no power out from the power board he changed out that supplies power to the control panel on top. Well about $200 for a board he changed and they want another $400 for the control panel if we decide to order it. Those prices are w/out labor costs. Min $85 just for call out. Even if I replace this part that is no guarantee that the oven will work again. I could spend as much money as it cost me originally to buy it. It was not cheap for the Kitchen-Aide Superb gas range when I bought it. I can remember when people would replace ovens/ranges just because they wanted a newer bigger one. Not that anything was wrong with the one they had, they just wanted to replace something that had already given over 25 years of service and was given to someone else just starting out in life. Where is the quality of workmanship that used to be in the things that we build and buy? It seems like today the young people have been brainwashed into thinking that when something breaks it is to be thrown away and replaced. I guess the manufacturers have succeeded in instilling a real throw away society in our youth. It dont work, throw it away because it will cost you more to fix it than its worth. Rule of thumb should be if something is going to cost you about 50% of what it originally cost to buy it --- then throw it away. They dont make anything like they use to.

Purchased a KUDS30IXBL4 dishwasher. One year later it stopped working. Under warranty. $125 later repairman shows up, takes one look at the dishwasher and tells me hell be right back. He doesnt even touch it. He comes in with a new control panel and has it working in 10 minutes. So many of these fail that we keep them stocked on the truck now. Oh, and the worst thing is that the original is warrantied for 3 years, but now that you have a replacement part in it is only warrantied for 90 days. He warned me that I would have problems down the road. One year later and guess what? My 90 day warranty long expired, the control panel has just failed again. It is cheaper to order the part and change it myself. I bought Kitchen Aid because of the brand reputation and quality. Now I know where the AID comes from in the name. Never again.

Kitchenaid Microwave/and convection double oven MODEL KEHC309JSS - I have been very happy with this appliance until after years of use I have to replace the 12V 5W light bulb in the ceiling of the microwave oven component. Because it is not accessible from the inside (as the two in over are), it is necessary to pull the entire unit out and disassemble the top third of the sheet metal cabinet. I finally, after researching for a few days and spending 4 hours taking things apart, got to the light bulb only to find that it is not available locally. I have found it online for almost $7 and an equal amount of shipping. There is no reference in the documents from KitchenAid as to how to change a light bulb. It sounds like a joke, doesnt it? Believe me, I am not laughing. Perhaps the engineer who designed this mess should have to change a light bulb before the appliance goes on the market. If I had called a service man to do this, it would have cost near $100 to get this done! If there is a simple way to do this job, I would sure like to know about it for the next time. Believe me, I questioned all the way through the project if I was overlooking something.

I purchased a KitchenAid microwave model# KMCS3022GSS and trim kit in May, 2018 as we were in the process of remodeling our kitchen and the cabinet maker needed the dimensions of the unit to build the cabinets. I knew that I was taking a warranty risk as it was going to take 8 months to get my cabinets but I expected KitchenAid products to be high quality. However, in less than 8 months of actual operation the microwave has died and from what I’m reading on this site it can’t be repaired so I’m out over $500. I’ve been a loyal Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer but it’s time to look for another supplier.

I have replaced my stainless steel Kitchen Aid dishwasher twice in the past 9 years. The first time there were issues with the motor/electrical. My current one continues to have problems: electrical issues, wheels falling off, top basket not aligned ever. The product quality is so low. I cant believe I replaced it with another Kitchen Aid. The only reason is that I wanted to match my other appliances. I do not recommend Kitchen Aid dishwasher as their longevity is about 4 years max. Thats a lot of money to invest for just 4 years.

I have had a problem with my brand new KitchenAid side by side fridge since day 1 !! The ice maker freezes up within a few hours of producing ice. The dispenser wont dispense ice because the ice is a frozen mess, but a slight leak of water continues to drip through the ice maker onto my wood floor. I didnt break it, it came this way! KitchenAid has sent 4 different repairmen from 2 different companies and so far no one has figured out what the problem is. Now they want me to setup a fifth appointment for another repairman to come. The unit has always been broken.KitchenAid should stand by their reputation and heavy ticket price and replace my fridge. They can fix it in their factory, but taking 4 days of work off to await repairmen to fix a brand new fridge is enough. So I still have a broken fridge, as my wood floors are being ruined while KitchenAid continues to try to repair it . Kitchenaid is a joke of a company and I will continue to share this information and my story until they replace my fridge!

We have a KitchenAid refrigerator. This refrigerator is less than 5 years old. It started having problems keeping the correct temperature. Called my service guy, he comes out, checks it out and states it has a freon leak. This involves the sealed system, a repair he does not do. Whirlpool was called and this issue was discussed. An authorized service provider from Whirlpool was sent out and yes it is a sealed system leak but he does not do sealed system repairs. I pay him his diagnostic fee. Called Whirlpool again and another provider is sent out to ascertain that yes it is a sealed system problem and guess what I get to pay another diagnostic fee. Whirlpool stated they sent out the first provider because they are on the List. Somehow this appears to be my problem that they sent out a company that doesnt do the repair that was clearly the issue per my appliance guy. I called to see if Whirlpool would cover one of these fees but nope. I wasted one hour and five minutes on the phone and got zero satisfaction. I also want to add that this repair parts and labor are covered under warranty so it seems doubly ridiculous that I have to pay two service fees. There will never be another Whirlpool, KitchenAid appliance in this house again.

We own two model number KESA907PSS KitchenAid stove/ranges. We have replaced two control panels due to boilovers on the range - spills or boilovers run down into the electronic control panel and short it out, making the oven features unusable. We were able to turn on the oven, but we would have to turn off our breaker to turn the oven off. KitchenAid would replace the part while under warranty, but they would not pay for the service call. Service calls were provided at over market prices of $90 per call. It was easier just to call an independent. Additionally, the knobs on the front of the stove push in and turn on if you barely bump or lean against them. We have accidentally burned/melted items that were on the burner. This is a huge liability for Kitchen Aid I would think. We try to make sure nothing is ever left on our stove top and we check our stoves before we leave our home for fear that someone may have accidentally leaned against the knobs and turned the stove on. Very scary! I will never purchase a major appliance from KitchenAid again. I have smaller appliances for KitchenAid that I have not had problems with.

We have owned this refrigerator for 7 years, and it started to leak. Wood floor and all the other issues included. Since we had extended warranty, we contacted the company. Although it did take longer than I hoped to have them come out, but thank goodness we think the problem is fixed, thanks to a great serviceman from A&E. He was an older repairman, and I give credit to that. He seemed very experienced and it was fixed within one and a half hour. After I read all the reviews before he came I was very discouraged, but he explained what the problem was and it sure makes sense. When he came, he removed the panel, defrosted all the ice and blew air through the drainage hose. Once the drainage hose was cleaned out, we found in the drain pan a plug of vegetables (frozen kale) He explained that this must have fallen on the bottom of the freezer, ended up in the drainage hose and plugged it up.Once it was all cleaned up, we have not had a problem. So what is of great importance in the future is that a person does not let pieces of vegetables fall into the bottom of the freezer. Because it might get stuck again into the drainage hose. I hope I have saved other owners from this misery and maybe prevent you from the same problem we had.

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator/dishwasher and stove Sept 2010 at Lowes. There was nothing wrong with my appliances. They all worked at the time I was redoing my kitchen and but wanted all new appliances. I chose KitchenAid because I thought they were one of the top of the line products. Wow was I so wrong. I have had problems with my refrigerator, started about a year after having it. I would empty my ice bucket and could not get the door to close properly. Had them out here 3 times never got it resolved. So now I just slam it as hard as I can and it closes nice. Well now it is leaking underneath on my hardwood floors so whats that mean? My hardwood floors is now ruined. I made my first phone call on Wednesday Aug 17 2016 and spoke to a supervisor Ben to tell me to buy the warranty and he will have someone out here on Monday.Well thats not acceptable now he gets someone to come out on Friday 8-12 so my husband waits and no one shows up. I am at work and I am fortunate that I am able to make phone calls. I literally was on the phone for two hours trying to get this resolved to get nowhere except Im sorry. I appreciate the Im sorry but what are you doing about it? Nothing. They blame the service that is supposed to come out and the service blames it on KitchenAid. The price of repairing the first dishwasher twice would be $840 and the price of repairing the second is $405.When I called customer service at KitchenAid they said we cannot control when a product fails and offered me $185 toward parts for repairing the first dishwasher again. I spent an hour on the phone and spoke with three different customer service people. None of whom seemed to think a dishwasher should last longer than a year. So if you plan to throw out your dishwasher every few years, then by all means get a KitchenAid but if you want one that will last, you should definitely look elsewhere.

My top of the line, three year old, stainless steel KitchenAid refrigerator
My top of the line, three year old, stainless steel KitchenAid refrigerator stopped cooling. Main circuit board is defective. Exactly like Ians review, I was told directly by a supervisor that no replacement boards have been made since the tsunami. In over two years, KitchenAid has not obtained a US based company to make these replacement boards. They have to be mailed to a company that rebuilds the boards and it takes at least two weeks before the repaired board is returned. This is the worst and most shameful business practice I have ever heard of from a world wide company. I have the KitchenAid Extended Warranty, but a loaner is NOT part of your KitchenAid warranty. And you are supposed to be perfectly happy going without a refrigerator for over two weeks. I purchased the KitchenAid built in wall oven, convection oven/microwave combo at the same time, along with a top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher. After spending more than $8000 on this suite, I cant wait for the non-existent circuit boards to go out on these other appliances. My husband wanted to buy the Samsung refrigerator, but I insisted on buying American made since the US was in the middle of the Great Recession. I will be spending my money on Korean appliances from now on, now that I have learned that KitchenAid has knowingly left all of their appliance customers without a source for new, replacement circuit boards. Heres a suggestion KitchenAid... Jabil Circuit, a gigantic, world wide circuit board company is based right here in St. Petersburg, Florida, where I live. If you cared one bit about your customers or your reputation, you would have them or one of the dozens of other companies in the US that manufacture the same things, supply you with new replacement boards. Yours is a shameful business model. I am done with KitchenAid.

Six years ago, I purchased a 27 Double KitchenAid oven model KEBS277SSSOOO for my kitchen remodel. Shortly afterwards, the control panel failed. I had it replaced under an extended warranty program. Recently, I attempted to use the self clean function. Following the prompts, the door locked. When I pushed the start button, there was a bright flash from the control panel. It fried. I have contacted an appliance repair company that services KitchenAid to replace the control panel. I will be charged for the service call, plus the approximate $400 for a new control panel. I would not recommend KitchenAid double electric ovens to anyone.

We purchased a kitchenaid dishwasher kude60hx 18 months ago. We purchased the extended warranty with it. The dishwasher pump clamp failed and drained a large amount of water on my hard wood floors. I was at home which saved me from lots of damage to my floor. Its amazing how much damage could have been done. A and e came out and replaced the clamp and the motor which failed from the water. A second motor was needed because the first would not work. Another one was ordered and they came later that day to replace it. Dishwasher still not working. Now a control board would be needed. Part was ordered. I had to wait another week to get that. The new control board was put in. Dishwasher still not working. Now a wire harness would be needed. That part was ordered - or so I thought. It would take 3 days. I called on my appointment day. The part was not in. They would be back in a week to put in the wire harness. The day before the appointment I called because I still did not have the part. I was told that was ok, they were bringing the part. The appointment day arrive. The tech arrived and asked me what was wrong with the dishwasher. He did not have the part. It was never ordered. Now I have to wait a week for that part. I will never buy a kitchenaid dishwasher. Its amazing the damage that can be done by the pump clamp failures. I called kitchenaid to complain. They could care less. I think a class action suit needs to be started. The part that fails costs several dollars. A and E has been a challenge. 4 visits and still not working. Its a shame. No one cares. No one is responsible. Its amazing the junk that we as consumers purchase in good faith. Never again will I buy from hh Gregg, A and E appliance or kitchenaid.

We bought this refrigerator for our vacation home in Cabo and liked that it was a reputable American company with a local dealer if anything were to go wrong. Six months and four service calls later, KitchenAid has finally agreed that the unit is unrepairable and will replace it...but SIX MONTHS LATER? What if we hadnt kept the old refrigerator. This Kitchenaid doesnt get below 70 degrees, wont make ice cubes and doesnt keep anything in the freezer frozen! Basically it doesnt do one thing its supposed to do. Yet it has taken six months of aggravation to a least get Kitchenaid to own up to the fact that its a piece of junk. Now how many months till it gets replaced? I can understand that every once in awhile, a product gets through thats just not good, but thats where customer service comes in. The way that this has been handled is is a reflection of a complete lack of quality and integrity in every way. Beyond disappointing. While Id hope the majority of their projects work as they should, buying a product knowing how they treat the customer when the product doesnt work is a clear signal to look elsewhere.

While cooking a roast at 225, which should have taken eight hours, the oven went into the broiler mode at the two-hour mark. If we were not at home, we would have had smoke damage to the interior of the house. The door locked and could not be opened. All controls failed and we had to shut off the breaker. After cooling down for one hour, the door opened and we removed the black pork roast. The oven is still in the broiler mode on high and will not shut off.

The repairman came and opened the back of the oven and realized that there was a fuse (?) that hadnt been pushed in during the assembly and then thought this would be the resolution but the self clean feature scrolled across still saying, feature not available. So next the repairman felt that there must be a computer issue with the stove so he ordered a new panel after speaking to the engineers at Kitchenaid and the next time he came he installed the new one and again the self cleaning feature wasnt available. The repairman had spent at least two hours of time at my place on the two visits he made and I was stressed with what my bill was going to be. He left my house not knowing what to do next and told me he was going to speak with Kitchenaid on my behalf as something was extremely wrong with how this stove was working or should I say not working. I got a telephone call later that afternoon from the repairman who told me that the engineers at Kitchenaid had found what they thought was the problem. Apparently if the power to the stove is interrupted as in unplugging the stove (which was done each time the repairman did anything to the stove) or a power outage, the stove goes through electronic checks to prevent damage and will not self clean for 10 minutes after the power has resumed and will say the feature isnt available. This is not written in any manual, and apparently it was found by the engineers in a small written place in their information. This was a new problem they hadnt ever encountered because obviously no one has come in from a power outage and started cleaning their stove within 10 minutes of the power coming back on.In the end, it looks like the fuse that hadnt been plugged in was probably the culprit and the repairman didnt know to wait for 10 minutes after repluging in the stove to test the feature. Kitchenaid paid the entire repairman bill...my stove is working perfectly now. I can imagine that in the future that the repairmen will be informed off this 10 minute wait period, or that it will be written in the manuals...what a headache to resolve a simple issue but Im happy now with my stove and with Kitchenaid.

Model #: KUDS35FXSS3. Purchase Date: 11/26/2011. In the second year of having this dishwasher the motor seized. Also the rack adjusters had to be replaced three times. (This problem is well documented on numerous Internet sites.) On Sunday, August 16, 2015, the dishwasher was approximately one half way through a normal cycle. A very loud buzz was heard and this lasted for a few seconds. Then a pop sound was heard. Upon investigation, the black smoke was pouring out the front of the dishwasher at the top. A very strong electrical burning smell was also present. The electric breaker for the dishwasher was tripped. When the dishwasher was taken apart it was found that the electronic control board (motherboard) had shorted and melted the internal wiring. The dishwasher was deemed unrepairable.

After reading all of the negative reviews about Whirlpools Customer Service, I felt I had to post my very positive experience. We purchased a KitchenAid Architect series refrigerator in April 2015. Unfortunately, it turned out be a defective fridge which would not be repaired. We had several visits to repair the unit since it simply would not defrost, and several different technicians, but in the end they couldnt fix the problem. I was quite apprehensive about what resolution would be offered and was ready for a big battle. To my surprise, Whirlpool (KitchenAid) Customer Service couldnt have been better. They offered me an exchange or a complete refund without hesitation. Even through my repairs, each call was handled promptly and efficiently. I have no complaints and even though this refrigerator didnt turn out to be what I had hoped for, I would not hesitate to purchase a KitchenAid appliance again in the future.

I learned Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer service definition: The customer is responsible for serving KitchenAid/Whirlpool. I purchased a YKDSS907SS04 less than a year ago. The burners do not work correctly, heating unevenly and either taking too long to cook or burning food. I contacted Customer service, who gave the call to their local authorized service center. They called me back telling me they are not licensed to work on dual fuel ranges and would send the call back to Whirlpool/KitchenAid. Then the nightmare began. I received a call from Whirlpools re-scheduling department telling me to find a local repair shop and send them the bill. I refused. It is not my job to do their job. I followed up with a fax, received a call from their Executive Office - a woman named Carrie **. I could not take the call at the time. I called her back several times over the period of a week and only received a prompt return call after I threatened to contact my attorney. The story did not change - since Whirlpool cannot provide customer service, it is my job as their customer to provide service to them by finding a repair shop in the local Yellow Pages. Nothing changed. The story the same - different name. When I suggested to Ms. ** that Whirlpool should not sell their products in a market where they cannot service them, she told with a screaming tone of voice, that Whirlpool did not sell me the unit directly - but wholesaled it to Sears. Oh well. Forgive my poorly informed status. I initiated the service call reluctantly since I am uncomfortable about the fact that this is not a KitchenAid service provider. However, I will probably get much better service from them - since KitchenAid expect me - their customer - to service them. Carrie ** constantly interrupted me, screamed, and informed me that she would note my file that I refused to find a local provider, which would delay the warranty repair process and be noted in any legal action. BTW does a delayed return phone call qualify? Ms. **s voice mail states that she returns calls within 48 business hours. Well, she only works 8 hour days - I forgot - meaning it takes 6 days to receive a call.

I just spent $165 for yet another service call to replace the latch on my KitchenAid range that was purchased in July 2006 from Builders Source in Albuquerque, NM. This makes a total of almost $500 spent on repairs to a range for which we paid $1,346. This was the third call and the second latch for the oven door. The technician noted that the door hinges, replaced in November 2011, need replacing also. The oven door would not shut; it is losing heat and it couldnt maintain temperature and could not extinguish the light. Then, it would not open. All of these are safety and performance issues. There is no response to emails and calls to KitchenAids customer service.” Builders Source offered a discount if I want to buy a new range, but I dont want to shop for major appliances every 5 years. I dont want KitchenAids unsafe, over-priced, and unreliable junk in my house either. In addition to the range, the handle fell off my KitchenAid microwave, the compressor failed on the refrigerator, and the latch, springs, and door failed on the dishwasher. There was a time when an appliance’s longevity and dependability relied on being well-made, and buyers weren’t saddled with purchasing extended warranties. Until retailers like Builders Source insist that manufacturers stand behind serviceable appliances, consumers will be deluded and disappointed with shoddy merchandise and choosing between which brands will provide the least trouble and expense. I expect that KitchenAid will continue manufacturing unsafe, overrated products and unresponsive, uncaring service until their once-respected reputation and the retailers that push these shoddy products disappear.

I purchased this fridge in early 2013. The ice bin latch has not worked since last summer. The bin does not stay latched and come forward the next time the draw is opened. When I called Kitchen Aid, expecting to speak with a customer service tech about the problem, the only option they offered was to forward me to an independent parts distributor. I did not want to purchase a new ice bin or schedule a costly service call if there was something I could do with the help of an over the phone technician. The distributor informed me that Kitchen Aid does not offer over the phone support and my only option was to call for a service technician to come to the house. Is it true there is no customer service support? That is a huge disappointment. After paying thousands of dollars for these appliances the customer is on their own. Also the quality of the stainless steel is poor. I find it difficult to clean and it dents very easily. I had another band stainless steel fridge for fifteen years, when my kids were small and crashing into everything, and it never dented. Now there are only adults in the household and it already has three dents. It is extremely upsetting to have a dented appliance in my brand new kitchen. I was planning to purchase all Kitchen Aid appliances in my new kitchen, but fortunately decided to go with a Bosch dishwasher and a Sharp microwave, which are of much better quality. I will not recommend or purchase another Kitchen Aid appliance.

The ice maker went out a couple months after I got it and it was replaced and then 2 more times it was replaced in less than 6 months. I decided that maybe the water filter was the problem and didnt replace it. Took it out and didnt have any more problems with the ice maker. Now only 3..5 years later it started having more problems but not with the Ice Maker. It completely stopped cooling and everything in the freezer thawed out and had to be thrown away including things in the refrigerated area. I researched and they no one will provide an extended service on it because they dont cover french door refrigerators. Now I know why they require too much service and dont work well. I called a repairman and will have to wait a few days for them to come out. Lo and behold I was woke up this morning to the sound of ice cubes dropping into the bucket. It has started cooling again. Turned on machine and it was whirring loudly and repairman said sounds normal. Called KitchenAid to complain as well as Home Depot. Depot said not their problem but connected us to KitchenAid as they didnt answer the two calls I made and left messages. I wont bore you with any more details except to tell you to stay away from this brand and the parent company Whirlpool. Horrible customer service and worse product. Their people are rude and simply dont care. I had to give them a one star even though they deserve minus two, also beware of Home Depot. They couldve pressured KitchenAid but didnt. Worst appliance I have ever purchased, never again!!! Run from this brand.

I have a built in side by side KitchenAid fridge purchased in 2007. The water input valve, part number w10146431 stopped working but the part was discontinued and is no longer available so the fridge cant be repaired. Whirlpools attitude was I can buy a new fridge at a discount. There should be a law that parts have to be available for 10 years so major appliances can be repaired. I think Whirlpool deliberately discontinues certain parts to force consumers to buy new appliances. Based on that thought I would never buy another Whirlpool appliance.

Our Failed Kitchen Aid Refrigerator KFIS29BBMS02 Ser#K35102755 - We purchased this refrigerator January 2013. The ice maker went out right away and was replaced on under warranty. Then in 2016 it fell apart. Another ice maker (Two) more actually, new control panel, new compressor. Service Dealer in Omaha tried to fix it 5 times with new parts and recharge the system. Last repair was 1-3-2017. Sent a letter to KitchenAid & Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha. NFM called back and said they could do nothing since we did not buy extended warranty. KitchenAid did not respond. It went hot again this week and no ice and lost frozen food for the 5th time. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! They told my service guy that they know they have a problem but my serial number does not apply. If I ran my company this way we would be broke with no customers. Buyers beware of KitchenAid.

I was talked into purchasing a KitchenAid dishwasher by a sales associate. I went in to buy a Bosch (great product) but was talked into spending a little more because KitchAid is suppose to be the best. I am here to tell you it is NOT!! First, my heating element went out. It was a recall for that particular year so they sent me the parts free of charge but I had to pay someone to replace it! Then the wheels dry rotted on my top rack. That was another recall so once again, they sent me the part (top rack) free of charge, but it was up to me to install it. NOW...the wheels on my bottom rack dry rotted, not a recall (how odd bc the top rack did the exact same thing), this time they are not doing anything to remedy the faulty part!! This company is terrible! DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT buy KitchenAid Appliances! They are truly a waste of money and they do not stand behind their products!! Terribly Disappointed!

Just like the last poster, my KitchenAid KUDS30IX is the WORST appliance I have ever purchased. Just 4 months after the one year warranty expired the already very wobbly top rack started losing plastic pieces and falling off when it had dishes in it. I called and they immediately knew what my problem was. They already had repair kits available for the problem which tells me many others have the same problem. Some of the parts in the repair kit are metal. Now it is not getting water to the top sprayers which means the top dishes are not getting clean. All the interior parts are flimsy and unstable except the stainless interior. The grinder gets louder by the day. I am completely dissatisfied with this product. I had other KitchenAids which were better quality, but I guess KitchenAid does not worry about making a quality product anymore. Warning. Dont buy one, youll regret it.

Approximately 10 years ago I purchased a 42 inch Kitchen Aid Refrigerator model kssc42qmS01 for about $5500. Seven years later, it required a rebuild of the circuit board for about $400. Last month the overtemp warning light was coming on for both the freezer and refrigerator. The authorized repair guy and Kitchen Aid said they could not fix the board due to the Tsunami in Japan. This excuse does not hold water since there are several after market repair shops that fix these boards daily. Just Google Kitchen Aid Control Board and you will find an entire market place of repair shops and used boards. (They all love Kitchen Aid!) If you read the detailed accounts of other pissed off homeowners who got stuck with a large piece of unserviceable junk in their kitchen read on from this website. My favorite is the guy who fixed his own control card for $6. Blaming a Tsunami is a convenient excuse to not fix or service these refrigerators because of underlying design flaws. Unfortunately I wasnt able to fix my board a second time despite the $500 in service calls and emergency repairs. The refrigerator still cant maintain its temperature. Kitchen Aid says theres nothing they can do except offer me a special price which is not better that a good Internet price from an online deep discounter. Keep in mind that this is a built in in a custom kitchen. (The Kitchen was featured in a local Milwaukee Magazine) I cant just rip this 42 inch built in out and put in a stand alone refrigerator because there would be a large gap in the 42 inch cavity not to mention a 3 inch projection even with a counter depth unit. And why would I buy another Kitchen Aid / GE built in when they walk away from their own product? My advise is to stay away from Kitchen Aid / GE built-ins.

Everything on this dishwasher has been a nightmare since the first day. Like everything else we have purchased at Lowes, its pure junk. The racks have fallen apart, and the technician literally replaced every working part...and said lady you basically have a brand new dishwasher now. I had to replace every working part. Well its a year later and all of those new working parts are now no longer working. It is as if the thing is not hooked up to electricity. I will NEVER EVER buy another KitchenAid piece of junk no matter what it is. The reason I bought this in the first place was because I have a 30 year old KitchenAid mixer that runs like new. Regardless of this... I am done with KitchenAid. If only we could rate these fewer than one star!

When I bought my new house it had an awful dishwasher so we bought a new kitchenaid dishwasher and I love it. I have had very good luck with my kitchenaid dishwashers. Will have one in the next house too!

Purchased a Kitchen Aid side-by-side refrigerator as part of a new home purchase. Everything was fine for the first year but then the lights in the refrigerator and freezer began going out. I called Kitchen Aid and they scheduled a service repair. Two lights were replaced (at no cost to me) and about 3 months later, the same issue came up again; no lights. Again I called Kitchen Aid and they sent out the same service repair company and they again replaced two lights (at no cost to me). Now, 4 months have passed and the lights are out again in both the refrigerator and freezer.I called Kitchen Aid a third time and they said the refrigerator was out of warranty and I was on my own even though they didnt fix the problem when it was under warranty. I believe the LED light panel needs to be replaced costing several hundred dollars. Kitchen Aid quality is average at best and I would recommend not purchasing their product. My refrigerator retails for about $10,000, model KBSD608ESS, so I would expect much better quality.

I just came back from a weeks vacation to find my microwave had been on fire. It turned itself on while I was away and caught on fire! The entire thing is melted inside. The silver circular thing on top is hanging down and the door even melted. My kitchen cabinets have been damaged. Thank God my house did not burn down!

We had it fixed and again. We had to pay to repair the leak a second time and again water on my wood floors. Today, I came upstairs to find water all over the floors again! Plus, it hasnt really cleaned the dishes well in a long time. I am going out today and shop for a new dishwasher and will not even consider KitchenAid. And I had a KitchenAid stove for a very short time and had to go out and buy a GE because at Thanksgiving, the oven stopped working. I purchased, unfortunately, the complete upper end Kitchenaid appliance for our kitchen 5 years ago from Home Depot and with the extended warranty with Asurion. Within 2 years the dishwasher had many problems that required several repairs: new computer board, new pump, new door, new seals, new wash arms and more. The self clean for the oven never works at all and never fixed. The microwave often refuse to work at all and must unplug and wait 15 or more minutes to work and never fixed. The worse... the $3500 French door refrigerator freezer has died 4 times. Needs new defective wire system that the fix damaged interior parts that were never covered or fixed. Next the freezer fans died. Next the ice maker stopped making ice...still waiting for that fix. And now the water will not flow as well. And each time we must shut it down and lose lots of food. Asurion coverage is slow and limited and uses distant repair companies that break things and never follow through for many weeks. Do not buy their coverage. Home Depot never back these awful appliance either. And Kitchenaid simply does not care and says sorry its is not their problem. Worse appliance I ever had in over 50 years. Avoid at all costs.

The Inlet and outlet Bezel part replaced at least 8 times. Said it was a manufactures bad design. Inlet and outlet Bezel parts made of plastic, when taps broke, that meant water on the floor. Until now, Kitchenaid has been our choice in kitchen appliances. Two weeks ago, our Kitchenaid flooded our kitchen and four rooms in our basement. Obviously the Overflow protection float which was not impeded in any way, didnt work. Now the kitchen hardwood floor is being ripped out and replaced. Walls and ceilings have been repaired downstairs. Even the electrical system between the walls was damaged and had to be fixed. I called and spoke to a customer service representative and just wanted some answers. It is very apparent Kitchenaid doesnt care. I am so disappointed in this company and will never purchase from them again. The most expensive dishwasher.... Thousands of dollars for repairs!

The refrigerator is sitting in our front room needing a control board part 2307037 since October. We keep getting the run around pushing the back order date further and further into the future. We will probably end up getting a new refrigerator, and I guarantee you it will not be a Whirlpool or any other product that they make. They are very deceptive. When I updated my kitchen I bought a KitchenAid dishwasher in 2007 and it was installed in 2008. It was serviced once under warranty... smoke coming out of the hood. Since then I have had it repaired twice. Once for the chopper not working correctly. It took the service rep five minutes to fix it and he was embarrassed that he charged me more than $100.00 to fix it. The service advisor was recommended by KitchenAid. Since then I have had to replace the silverware dispenser and now I have to replace the soap dispenser because a piece of plastic no bigger than 1/4 of an inch broke off. The part was 68.00 with shipping 86.00... ripoff... and now I have to pay a repairman to install it. ALL over this piece of plastic. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again.... and hope that lots of consumers read this and follow my advice.

The electronic control for the fan failed. Called a repair tech to fix. Was told that we needed part # W10219463 which showed a cost of 220.00 in his system. Told him to order part. Got a call later that part is no longer made by manufacturer and that we needed to call KitchenAid. KitchenAid told us to call a appliance parts company that they recommended. Upon installing the replacement bins, I again noticed the bottom bin was skewed. I took it out and discovered that a air movement component was affixed behind the bin was not properly installed. I purchased a model KDTE204DSS0 KitchenAid dishwasher on 12/1/14 for $717.48. It has a stainless steel tub. Fourteen months later (2/16) we had water leaking from multiple pinhole leaks in the stainless steel tub where the base of the tub is molded to fit the screen and pump. I called Whirlpool and they said that the tub has a lifetime warranty but it can only be installed by an approved appliance repair facility. That cost $150.00 (I removed, delivered and installed the dishwasher again myself). On 9/8/16 (seven months later) the dishwasher is leaking again and has again the same pinhole leaks in the new tub. I get a slight shock when I touch the screen inside the tub and believe there is a galvanic reaction going on that is eating up the stainless tub at its thinnest area.Since I find no other reviews mentioning this problem, and it appears to be more than just a tub problem but a unit problem (i.e. a lemon), I asked Whirlpool to replace the unit. As you already know, they said no but would replace it for $17.00 less than I paid for the last one less than two years ago. If I paid another $150.00 to replace the last tub that would be about $500.00 a year to wash a load of dishes every other day. This negative review is as much about the manufacturer as it is about the faulty dishwasher.

On 2/4/12, I purchased a Kitchen Aid double oven microwave unit nearly three years ago, when doing a kitchen remodel. All the appliances are Kitchen Aid, thinking we were purchasing a good, reliable brand name. Yesterday, I placed the oven in the self cleaning mode. After about 2 and a half hours, the inner glass panel on the oven door exploded, sending hot, shattered glass onto the floor. The intensity of the heat cracked the new cabinet along the top of the oven. I called the service center, and they indicated there have been no recalls on this problem. I am horrified to think that if my grandchildren were present, they could have been injured. After reading other complaints on this website, I think Kitchen Aid needs to do a recall on this unit. By the way, they did not offer to replace the glass. They said the glass was covered, but not the two service calls to replace it, and the glass can only be ordered by a service technician.

I purchased 3 new KitchenAid appliances after having my Sears brand for many years 20 plus and not having one issue with them in that time period. I have had my KitchenAid appliance for less than 3 mos when I started to have problems with the french door model making funny loud noises when making ice. It took 3 service calls before they could resolve the problem. Now after a year, it is doing it again. Called the service dept and they are less than helpful to help remedy the problem, which is a defect from the start. My KitchenAid double oven after 6 months needed repair. During a Thanksgiving meal, it refused to heat up to the desired temperature needed. Again, another call to service man, time off from work to wait. The problem was covered under warranty. It took the service department two times to get the problem fixed. This should not be happening to a new appliance, unless it is terrible workmanship from the factory. Now, after a year and a half, my KitchenAid dishwasher is having leakage problems. It has not paid to spent the money they ask for these appliances and get such faulty appliances. We started having issues with our KitchenAid dishwasher, KUDS301XBLO, potscrub light staying on just after the one-year warranty was up, but we were able to reset it. Then we noticed the dishes were not getting clean and the potscrub light was staying on. It will not even complete a cycle. We have only had this dishwasher 1 and 1/2 years. I called to ask about the 2- to 5-year warranty that covers all parts of defective equipment and was told I had to pay $129 service call for them to come and look at it, then I would have to pay for parts. I was offered to buy an extended warranty for $259. That seems like a lot for a dishwasher that cost more than $800 a year ago. I have been reading that the control panels have been malfunctioning and starting fires. I am very upset that this higher end dishwasher is less reliable than a $400 one. I have also read that the manufacturer is aware of this problem and has failed to recall this product.

I am sick to my stomach... Just redid my entire kitchen in KitchenAid products thinking they were a good investment. The built-in wall oven is the WORST. I have used it once, for one batch of cookies - 350 degrees, bake time - 10 minutes. The first sign of trouble was how loud the oven was when cooking, seriously annoying. I figured I could get used to that, thinking it was just new technology at work. Was I ever wrong. The fan (and it is loud) has continued for an hour... As I write this, it is still as loud as can be. And we are talking only 10 minutes of cook time at 350 degrees! I am so bummed I cant stand it. I have never written a review for anything in my life, but because I know that I am going to have absolutely no recourse on this (I can hear it now... But there isnt anything wrong with the oven), Id like to prevent someone else from making the same mistake.

Just wanted to throw my $.02 in for what its worth. We bought a KitchenAid side by side refrigerator and have been totally dissatisfied with it right from the beginning. First, it is very loud when running. When we complained, the response was, to paraphrase, give it a few weeks, youll get used to it and you wont even notice it. That hasnt worked. Second, the ice maker is a joke. Very slow to make ice, cubes are small, and it wont keep up with the ice needs of only 2 people in the household. My recommendation is to trust the reviews and dont buy KitchenAid! Crappy products and crappier customer service!
