Kitchenaid Duel Fuel Range Oven Problem Model KDRP407HSS10 - While baking oven door locked and went into cleaning cycle, food in oven was smoking and could not cancel cycle. Husband had to turn breaker off and let oven cool down and then turn breaker back on so electronics would unlock door and then was able to get food out. Tried to use oven again and did the same thing. Called Kitchenaid and they would not admit or even acknowledge they were aware of the problem. I told them they had to be aware of the problem because I have seen postings of the same exact problem going all the way back to 2005. Had to ask twice to talk to supervisors at next level to try and get their explanation of what it would take to repair the range. I explained I wanted to talk to someone who had knowledge of what it was required to fix the problem. Someone at KA has to know what is wrong. I am now waiting for the third supervisor to call us back. One posting I read said that in the state of NY there was a class action lawsuit filed against KA. This is an extremely dangerous situation and could cause a serious fire. Do not understand why this problem has not been addressed. The ovens should have been recalled.

We purchased four KitchenAid items for our kitchen to receive a $600 rebate. Our reseller showed us the KitchenAid screen where all items were available for deliver in less than 30 days. This was a condition of our purchase. That was 04/01/2021. They delivered our oven and microwave and dishwasher. They never delivered our refridge nor wine cooler. They now claim end of the year. Our sales rep indicates maybe even later since the manufacturer reps come and go and KitchenAid changes its mind on deliveries. I called them and asked if we could pay a little more and pick them up IN STOCK at Best Buy and still get our $600 rebate. They refused. They are making us wait for an unreliable delivery date. They misrepresented the purchase. I saw the manufactures computer screen that said they would deliver. DO NOT BUY from whirlpool or KitchenAid since they will rob from you and not give you any rebates. In addition, they will not live up to their delivery dates even on their own computer system.

Purchased our Double Oven July 29/11 from a local appliance shop (Herbs Appliances), authorized dealer for kitchen aid. From day one it did not work properly, convection fan made noise, in all fairness Herbs came back and fixed that. Then the electronics board failed. Had to turn breaker off and on, to reset it constantly. Well, now Herbs Appliances was not so eager to return and did not return at all. Excuse after excuse why he could not come. Then the upper oven failed totally. Called Kitchen Aid said it was no longer under warranty. Absolute nightmare from Retailer to manufacturer. To add insult to injury, we purchase a new cook top from Ikea. Nutid Induction cook top. It lasted 6 months, half the burners failed. To my surprise it was another kitchen aid product. To nobody else fault but my own, I have misplaced the receipt. No warranty. Big Box to supporting your local retailer, dont buy Kitchen Aid.

My counter depth side by side fridge model KSC24cEYY02 was purchased 12/12. At the one year point I began having problems with the ice dispenser motor. It has now been replaced 5 times. The extended warranty company has been a horror. The contract says that if the part is replaced more than 3 times, the unit is considered a lemon. Then they tell me that the Lemon Law is not valid in NY. They also say that no matter how many times a part is replaced during a 120-day period it is considered one replacement. What??? I have been without an ice maker for months. It usually works for a week or so after each repair. I have spent hours and hours on the phone and have to save out 2 Saturdays a month for the repair guy. It is a nightmare. I want a buyout so that I can purchase a functioning refrigerator.

IN 1953 my parents built a house after I was born. They had a KitchenAid dishwasher that was still working perfectly in that house when they retired to Florida in 1986. I figured that was a good reason to look at KA appliances when I remodeled the kitchen in my current house in 2011. BAD MOVE!! I bought a whole stainless KitchenAid kitchen (warming drawer, cook-top, double built-in convection oven, hood, etc.). Im now looking at the four repair tickets that document the three months it took for them to get the double oven model #KEMS308SSS04 brains working - thankfully covered under warranty as it was within weeks of installation that the troubles began - and thinking I didnt know how good I had it then compared to the dishwasher travails Im still going through!.The dishwasher - Model #KUDS30FXSS1 - has broken down four times. The first time was just after the warranty ran out and we paid for labor when they replaced the controller circuitry. The second was shortly after the first and we paid again for the part to be installed - both times having to wait several days, dishwasher less, for the part to be delivered after the diagnosis. On the third time the control panel went dark, about two months ago, I opened the unit (having seen techs do it four times) and after jiggling the circuit boards and re-seating the plugs it lit up and worked... until we loaded it after dinner last Thursday. Now the control panel is once again dark. Im waiting for some response from Kitchen Aid and Im warning you not to buy Whirlpool corporation stuff as it doesnt dont work and the company doesnt care.

The issue I am currently having is trying to get a new control panel for our built in refrigerator. The day after Christmas the refrigerator went out. The following Monday I called a local appliance repair business so we could get the refrigerator fixed. They showed up the following day and informed us it was the main control panel that was out and this part was not available. They suggested we either were going to have to have the control panel rebuilt or if that did not work the only solution was to buy another refrigerator. I found that hard to believe so I called KitchenAid and eventually got to the Built-In Department. I was told the part was getting ready to be available and would be ready for distribution on 1-7-16. Was also told until now this part had not been available due to the manufacturer being destroyed in a storm and it had taken them several years to redesign a part that actually worked. I also found that hard to believe. However, I now thought all issues were taken care of and excepted the wait. Well, yesterday I decided to call checking on things only to find the part did not go out as stated and there was still (0) showing in their availability. The parts distribution company that our repair shop orders their product from had not even placed an order because there was still 0 showing available. After several phone calls and talking to several different people my frustrations only grew. It appears that even though the folks in the built in department could see the inventory was available nobody was able to order the part because the part is still not showing up as available in their system. Finally, the part was made available for me to order, shipping at my expense, to be shipped to my repair Co. I also then found out that I would then be responsible for shipping the core back and that I would have NO warranty on a $350.00 part. If the part was ordered through my repair Co I have a warranty and no shipping expense. They were not even willing to ship next day or 2nd day mail. For a part this expensive and with as many issues it appears there have been with it, I decided I needed the warranty so Im back at the mercy of KitchenAid and the wholesale part supplier to get the part to my repair Co. I found the policies at KitchenAid and the procedure they go through to be very non-flexible and not consumer friendly. In addition, we put all KitchenAid products with the exception of our gas stove in our house. We have already replaced the built in Ice maker and the microwave. This will be the last KitchenAid/whirlpool appliance we ever purchase.

I purchased the KitchenAid Refrigerator KSF26C4XYY03 March 25, 2014. The unit is only 3 years and a couple months old. The refrigerator door pops open when closing the freezer door. The first occurrence was last summer and I should have addressed it then. This past month the refrigerator door pops open every time the freezer is shut. Called KitcheAid service to find out what it was and how to handle this. They scheduled me a service call. Did not offer any kind of warranty at that time and per conversation with KitchenAid today, they should have. Now its too late since I have already had a service man here and agreed to service with him.The service man told me both door closure cams were worn and that this was very unusual. He said this type of problem does not happen until the refrigerator is 10 to 12 years old. Also said that its usually bad on one door or the other and in my case, both doors are equally bad. It is going to cost me $280 for the repair. I called KitchenAid to register a complaint with their company and see if there is anything they could do to help out with the repair. No help with a relatively new refrigerator. Wont be buying this brand again.

We were newly married and wanted appliances that would last for our new family. I had always thought that KitchenAid was top of the line and it would be worth the money. Boy was I wrong! We completely furnished our house with stainless KitchenAid appliances and had problems with the fridge before we made our first payment. The Homecenter said they that they would get it fixed but before they got there to fix the fridge, the range quit working. They sent a service tech that I swear served me my Big Mac at McDonalds the day before. He worked on the appliances and damaged one in the meantime but denied it. The fridge continued to leak water and the dishwasher then also started to leak and get much louder with every wash. They brought me a new fridge that leaked worse than the one before so we resorted to just shutting the water off to the fridge. These problems persisted with the three appliances and I should have been more persistent but I was trying to be nice. As soon as my 1 year warranty was up, the store would no longer talk to me and since then, our microwave starts and runs on its own (fire hazard). The only way to shut it down is to unplug it. The Homecenter and KitchenAid dont care about the consumer or there safety. We have put many calls in with no success. We have started to replace appliances with cheap China made ones that work great as we get the KitchenAid ones paid off. What really bites is we have to pay to get rid of the KitchenAid ones. So the best I can do is to advertise against KitchenAid as often as I can.

I purchased a KitchenAid built-in dishwasher last fall and if it wasnt so difficult to take out I would not have kept it. Not only was it costly, the top tray does not stay in and you have to hold it while filling the bottom tray. The two trays are so close together that you cannot use the utensils box to hold a knife or spatula or a large spoon. Even plates and cutting boards will stop the sprayer from rotating. Truly the worst purchase I have made in years.

I need a dishwasher or a new wife quick. I have had KitchenAid dishwashers for all my married life, so far (45 Years). If this was a $250 machine I would chuck it and buy another. Kitchenaid French Door - I hate to give this one star when it deserves none at all. I paid over $3000 for this lump of useless metal 2 years ago and the repairs have been countless. Fortunately I also purchased a Sears Service contract. It is now on its fifth ice maker and has had fans, sensors and boards replaced. Admittedly all covered by the contract but the inconvenience involved is important. I just called for a service repair which will be in 8 days. When he comes, he will have to order a part and the appointment will be two weeks on from that. In the mean time we have to buy ice. I bought Kitchenaid because I thought they were reliable but never again. Surely someone makes a decent product.

For what should be the top of the line for the Whirlpool Corporation, you should run not walk away from any KitchenAid dishwasher you see in the showroom. We purchased a new home less than 3 years ago which had a brand new Kitchenaid dishwasher. We are a family of 6 who cooks at home most nights so the dishwasher gets a lot of use. In the less than 3 years we have had the control panel motherboard replaced 2 times (thankfully under warranty) and last week the dishwasher started to leak significant amounts of water ruining part of our kitchen floor. We had a technician come out and he knew right away it was the sump. He openly said this thing is a lemon which Whirlpool has known about for years and refuses to fix. We asked if we could fix it and his response was Sure, these are one of the parts I carry with me to all jobs because they fail so much. However the repair cost was almost $500 so we have decided to send this piece of junk to the curb and purchase another brand. Whirlpool has lost a customer for life.

I am sorry I did not use this site before I purchased my KitchenAid refrigerator. Apparently, they do not stand by their shoddy product. I have had the same issues as most. The icemaker broke two years after purchase. Now after 6 years, the two circuit boards are broken and need to be replaced. The total cost for this could go up to $800. I had a service person look at it and replace the inverter board at a cost of $450. Two days later, the fridge got hot and service guy came back. He diagnosed that the main board needed to be replaced. KitchenAid does not even have this part anymore. Now I have to send out my part for repair and be without a fridge for more than a week. I am disgusted! Never again will I buy KitchenAid products.

A KitchenAid KEBS207BSS01 Double Oven came with a new house we purchased. The first time we self-cleaned the oven, the blue porcelain flaked off the convection cover, exposing bare metal. KitchenAid Customer Service stated this was a cosmetic problem not covered by warranty, since the oven was still functioning properly. I replied that the self clean feature was a function that was obviously not designed to chip off the oven interior, and therefore not functioning properly. I purchased two of the same KitchenAid Dishwashers (KDTE204) in September of 2015. The first one began leaking in March 2019 and was repaired by the repair company that KitchenAid referred me to. This $405 repair bill. In November 2019, the second dishwasher began leaking. In between the time I placed the service call for the second dishwasher and the repair man coming, the first dishwasher began leaking again. When the repair man came out, he indicated that the repair would be $435 for each dishwasher. The price of repairing the first dishwasher twice would be $840 and the price of repairing the second is $405.When I called customer service at KitchenAid they said we cannot control when a product fails and offered me $185 toward parts for repairing the first dishwasher again. I spent an hour on the phone and spoke with three different customer service people. None of whom seemed to think a dishwasher should last longer than a year. So if you plan to throw out your dishwasher every few years, then by all means get a KitchenAid but if you want one that will last, you should definitely look elsewhere.

We bought the Kitchenaid Architect Series model # KDTE104DSS0 after much research for $800. 2 years later the motor is dead (typically lasting 10+ years) and KitchenAid will do nothing. The customer service rep got a supervisor but they refused to even help on the part cost. So now after spending $800 we must pay another $400 to fix. I could have bought another Bosch to last another 11 years (the last dishwasher in this house) but went with a domestic piece of garbage instead. Im appalled that they wouldnt even give a discount on the part - instead tried to sell me a NEW dishwasher at a discount! I will never ever ever buy KitchenAid again. So disappointed in their customer service. I understand, things break - but own up to it instead of relying solely on us coughing up another $200+ at the time of purchase. We could barely afford the dishwasher and trusted that the brand would hold up. Obviously a mistake.

I am very disappointed with Kitchenaid. Our dishwasher was purchased and installed 18 months ago. Our use of the dishwasher was very light, maybe using it 2-3 times per week. We were also very careful to remove excess food from the dishes before putting into the machine. After 18 months, the dishes were not getting clean. A repairman came to assess and found that the motor/pump needed replacement. The cost of the visit was 98.79. To repair the machine would be an additional 364.00 plus taxes. It is ridiculous that Kitchenaid is producing such poor quality appliances which are essentially disposable landfill objects and will not take responsibility. Their warranties (very limited) are only good for 1 year from purchase.

We purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator as part of an appliance package for a new home. We did not want the high-end option, so we were offered this package as an balance between cost and performance. We installed this refrigerator, a KitchenAid microwave, a KitchenAid cooktop and a KitchenAid dishwasher. Of all the four, the refrigerator is the worst. It broke down immediately after the 1-year warranty period ended. I had KitchenAid service people here on three occasions and they changed every computer component (board) in the machine. Each time, the machine would work well for a little while and then it would gradually degrade in performance. Right now, it is not cooling properly and not making ice. The gasket around the freezer is falling off so the freezer door will not close correctly, but the computer does not detect this as an open door for purposes of the alarm. At first, I was pleased to see the America sticker in the door - now I really dont care where my next refrigerator is made as long as it performs better than this very expensive paperweight.

We built our house 3 years ago. We chose a KitchenAid kude48fxss6 for our dishwasher. We chose the higher end model thinking it would be better. The dishwashers 1st issue was in our 2nd year of having it. A gasket of some kind went on the inside. The water during the cycle found the path of least resistance out, and cause a fair bit of water damage to our floor by the time we came home and saw. My husband repaired the dishwasher with a $5 part. The parts store commented that it was a very frequently breakdown on these dishwashers. Next came the plastic nub that connected the top basket to the roller. Each basket has 4 of these nubs. Plastic becomes brittle over time especially when exposed to hot Temps and water. So not surprisingly one broke. And now mother recently the entire connection piece that the baskets roll on has broke.Fortunately my husband has been able to fix these items but its extremely disappointing that we spent good money on such garbage and also have to still repair a damaged section of floor. There isnt any accountability for the disposable garbage these manufacturers make. The use the cheapest components designed to last just long enough though standard warranty so that you are stuck repairing and or replacing. It should be criminal. They should take notes from the Toyota production systems and learn about continuous improvement. Then people would be fistful to the brand and their businesses would thrive rather than their current model of cheat and deceit. I bought a new French door with bottom freezer refrigerator in July 2010. I had continued problems with the seals on the French doors and the doors not closing properly. Also, the ice maker is freezing over. After 4 warranty service calls, the problems were never fully resolved. Now, we have water which flows into the freezer compartment and freezes on the bottom. Once its full, the water flows onto our wood floors. This was a fairly new model for KitchenAid at the time of purchase and I would recommend do not purchase this style. The ice maker storage in the door is heavy and the doors do not seal properly, leading to a host of other issues.

Upon baking a heavenly apple pie for desert, (we live in the Okanagan Valley of BC) the well stuffed pie spilled over during baking. After the range cooled off, we set the self clean oven on. The next day, we proceeded to wipe the residue with a damp cloth and we noticed that the oven base was badly pitted. We reported this damage to the manufacturer (1-800-807-6777) and it went on deaf ears. Our range is only four months old. Burnt sugar will pit all porcelain surfaces, we were told. That is not so!! We have never experienced damage to our porcelain ovens from other manufacturers. Our VIP SUPERIOR PROTECTION PLAN also will not cover this situation. We would not recommend Kitchen Aid Ranges. We would appreciate a settlement.

In June of 2012 I renoed my kitchen and bought brand new Architect II Series appliances. I thought that KitchenAid, being a good, reputable name, would equate to a quality product. 11 months later my freezer sprung a leak causing the floor of the freezer to be a solid sheet of ice. Ironically, the customer service rep actually admitted to me that that common problem isnt usually seen until the unit is about 13/14 months old, not 11. RED FLAG!!!! Guy came (under warranty), fixed it, poo poo poo, no re-occurrence. HOWEVER, the OTR microwave vent makes a lot of noise but doesnt suck the air well at all. Technician said that although other units have a stinger suction, since it has something he cant fix it.The oven doesnt signal when the desired temperature is reached and that has NOTHING to do with the options. The dishwasher has had a technician out to my home twice. At $85 for 15 minutes how many more times can I afford to call him? First time was that the water apparently wasnt heating up (even though it was steamy) and the second time the panel was just flashing nonstop. No actual problem there! Goodbye ** + tax! Now, the damn thing will not kick into the heat dry cycle. It washes, rinses and drains perfectly but when it is meant to heat dry it just shots off completely. No flashing code, no green clean light. And to top it all off very nicely, all 4 wheels on the sliding upper rack are broken. The teeth that hold them in place have simply broken off. Because of course, thats normal!!!!!! NOT.I am so frustrated with KA. I will never buy anything more expensive than a blender from them again. In my opinion, I should not have had these many issues with appliances 2 years old. My grandmothers Frigidaire avocado green stove and fridge set from 1959 still work perfectly!!!!!!!! If only products made today were made to last. And by last I mean longer than the 12 month factory warranty. :(

We purchased model KDTE104DSSO November 29, 2014. It was professionally installed and cleaned everything beautifully until this summer. We called Whirlpool and were directed to their service provider under the warranty plan. The technician has been here 4 weeks in a row and still the dishwasher does not work. Our concern is it will be out of warranty in 2 months. I spoke with a customer service rep who had the audacity to offer me an extended warranty! I intend to file a complaint with our county consumer affairs office.

For the second time, I have replace the glass turntable, plastic arms, and centerpiece from my Microwave. I use it to defrost bagels, and warm up food, typically no more than 2-3 minutes. I JUST replaced the glass again and after reheating chicken for Easter, I noticed the fan was still blowing and the oven very hot inside. If I open the door it stopped, when I close it the fan starts back up. I left the door open thinking it was a cool down fan, but my boyfriend closed it when we went to bed. When I woke up this morning to defrost my bagel, the glass was crack and turntable parts melted. This has to be the WORST microwave on the market. It works great when it is on, but I have had it. It is expensive. The parts expensive. DONE!

We purchased 4 KitchenAid appliances for our kitchen and also a washer and dryer. 1 year later, the control panel went bad in the dishwasher so we called Whirlpool. They sent a repairman to service the dishwasher, upon his arrival he informed me the control panel was no good and this was a regular problem with this model and whirlpool is aware of this. He told us we would probably have to replace this yearly. Well 1 year later same problem again and we are getting stuck paying 180 dollars for labor on an appliance that is only 2 years old. Argued with Whirlpool and they said sorry its your problem.

We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store
We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store gave us a 5 yr warranty which we used on 5 different occasions. Long story shortened greatly... 2 yrs in we had water leaking on the floor which was warping the newly done wood! Ahh! We couldnt figure out what was going on b/c it both seemed to be running/leaking as well as there was water freezing up in the back of the freezer, until it created a frozen pool in the bottom and started to leak out the front. So I turned off the water supply (stinks to have this huge fancy fridge and NO ice or cold water!) But that didnt seem to stop the prob. First they said it required the duck bill to help w/ draining the water inside the fridge which wasnt covered under the warranty- even though KA had HUNDREDS of calls on this issue at that point in 2012. Then later we found that we were experiencing 2 separate problems. We needed a faulty valve which was covered and the repair company was nice and thorough in fixing the duck bill for free. The valve we were told might have been b/c the water was freezing inside the ice cube maker in the fridge (our ice is not indoor but in bottom freezer on left side). He showed me how the water was frozen inside the hard plastic tubing. NOTE that we DID defrost it and that sorry to say didnt help. ALSO BE AWARE that for us these issues seemed to coincide via coincidence or not.. We are unsure... But seemed to occur when either someone left the freezer opened for a prolonged time.. OR we went out of town for over a week and the freezer remained unopened. Unfortunately, we have never gotten an answer on that one.. BUT we just came back from a 1 month trip overseas and bam! The prob was back! Grrrr.. Anyway... So that repair of the duck bill and double valve seemed to work for 3 yrs.. b/c now we are in 2015 and experiencing very similar issues again. I called our old repair guys again and they told me that KA has changed out the duck bill for a new piece called the goose neck/P-trap drain tube. We just ran out of the warranty of course last month.. So to fix this would be $110 labor, $80 service fee + part $25. I found this website that shows how to put it in yourself. I dont even cut my own grass or nail something in the wall myself.. BUT this looks so easy I will do it myself! See link to Repair Clinic! Not sure it will show up here but google it! Has a video. Im going to give it a try. ** Also check out the threads on this forum **. ALSO lastly.. Sorry.. Wanted to let you know that one of the other calls we have had to make on this which was NOT at difficult to figure out but would have been pretty costly had we not had the warranty was the condenser went out 4 yr after we bought it 2014. The thing just started not to cool anymore! But the guys figured it out pretty quickly and got the new part in straight away. OHH And lastly... Really it is.. Haha. The stainless doors are the WORST of ALL of our stainless appliances to clean. and EVEN are getting tiny rust spots which is crazy as our fridge isnt anywhere near the sink/stove. Anyway... SO FOR CLEANING them.. I have tried several different products and the one that has by far done the best at cleaning and keeping spots away is Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish. I agree w/ ALL that has been said re: this machine.. Looks great.. But a total lemon! I will NEVER spend $2300 on a fridge again. I figured it was my once in a lifetime. Im grown up and get the kitchen I want & have it last a long time.. Im a teacher... So the cash is not flowing like the water on my floor. But I will never buy something like this again. Sadly too much $$, hassle, and time.

In December we purchased a complete appliance package from KitchenAid. When delivered the first problems were damaged interior of the dishwasher, fan on the microwave was hitting on something. KitchenAid sent out a service company to fix that problem. Next the interior of the oven start to fall apart. There were crack all along the bottom and pieces of the blue enamel started to break off. KitchenAid sent out another tech. And the stove top started having bubbles show up around the heating elements. KitchenAid sent out another tech. The tech said that the stove was bad and had to be replaced. KitchenAid fought us on the cooktop saying it was cosmetic and would not change it out. We told them no way. Brand new appliances should not be doing that after only a month. They only agreed to replace the glass top. The tech told us that they are experiencing a lot of problems with this new line of appliances. The new oven microwave unit came in yesterday and the microwave doesnt work properly. The tech said that he has to open up a brand new appliance can take it apart to fix it. KitchenAid has been absolutely unhelpful. My next step is to call up an attorney! We have brand new appliances that are breaking down after a few week and the same day. I have no confidence in KitchenAid.

Spent $3200+ on a KitchenAid Refrigerator model KRMF606ESS00 about a year ago. Weve had nothing but problems since we got it. The ice/water dispenser would stick open and wed end up with water and ice on the floor. The tech that came out to fix it said that theres a known delay between the ice/water paddle dispenser and the computer that tells the refrigerator to dispense the water. He did replace the unit because it was sticking as well as the delay. This helped. Would have been nice to know this before ordering the refrigerator. Shortly after that was fixed we noticed that our food was spoiling prematurely and the refrigerator seemed warm. I bought a thermometer and found out that the inside of the refrigerator was around 46-48 degrees when it was set to 33. This time the tech that came out said that the paddles werent opening to allow cold air into the refrigerator. Fine. Ordered a part that came in in a few days and installed it. The tech cleaned out pounds of ice that had built up in the back of the unit between the fridge and the freezer when he installed this part. Because of this, all seemed well for a week or 2 until the thermometer started climbing up again. However, this did not fix the problem. This time the tech that came out said it was a gas solenoid that needed to be ordered - something about the coolant not distributing properly between the freezer and fridge. He said it would be a few days to order the part. Five days later I call the repair people again and they said they had to order the part from the manufacturer and it would still be another week or 2. Um HELLO we have spoiled food here and it is the week before Christmas. Nothing we can do maam. We can overnight the part for $100. Call the manufacturer to see if they can do anything. Called the manufacturer WHIRLPOOL who proceeded tell me that theres nothing they could do - they got the order for the part - it IS IN STOCK but they havent shipped it yet. Well, can you overnight it? That is not our policy maam. What? Why not? Can I talk to your supervisor? No maam, that is not our policy. I can email my supervisor and they will get back to you in 24-48 hours. Are you kidding me?? You dont have a supervisor? That is not our policy maam. If he called me maam one more time I would have jumped through the phone. So basically, screw you, customer. Were not helping you and dont care if your food is spoiling. Oh, but were happy to take your $100+ per year to extend your warranty on this piece of crap. DONT BUY KITCHENAID IF YOU WANT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ARE THE WORST.

My house burned Oct 17, 2011. We rebuilt it and put in all new KitchenAid appliances. I was so excited to have something new, pretty, economical and what Id always thought was a top of the line brand. Boy was I wrong. I have had 4 cabinet depth side by side refrigerators from March 2012 to May 2012. None of them have worked. Feb 5, 2015 my ice maker quit. I paid the serviceman for a brand new one. It didnt produce ice at all for 5-6 days. I got up the 6th day and both fridge and freezer were hot. Lost all my food. The serviceman replaced the compressor on 2-26-15. It worked great for a day. I get up yesterday am and lost my food once again. Fridge and freezer are both hot and not working. Id like to add we have had problems with our dishwasher and double oven thermostat. All products are lemons. Very dissatisfied.

I used to use environmentally friendly dishwasher soap but had to go to a heavy strength brand now. The plates fall down in the dishwasher (I recommend taking plates and trying them before you purchase any dishwasher) and now I have all of these little rust looking spots all over the front - which naturally is not covered under the extended warranty!! This control panel went bad less than 24 months after we purchased the dishwasher. KitchenAid wanted almost $300 for the control panel PLUS a service call. We did without the unit for a few months and researched it on the Internet as we had time. After some clues & leads, we were able to obtain the correct part number and find a wholesale price for it. Although it tested our skills, we installed the panel ourselves and the unit returned to normal operation. We think that KITCHENAID intentionally creates sub-standard parts for assembly of its appliances for the purpose of selling service & parts. Our four year old unit has been serviced twice. An alarming fact that we are learning is that having paid high dollar for matching appliances and appliances which were toted as top of the line we only brought in units that carry this KITCHENAID name but in reality are Whirlpool & Maytag manufacture. Its all a game we think. An interesting side note: we bought this unit from SEARS & SEARS installed it. During the initial warranty of the unit, we smelled something burning and called SEARS. They came out and found that the wire nuts used to connect the washers electrical system to the black pigtail that plugs in the wall were at fault. The initial installers had rushed through the install and not connected them tightly enough. We were charged $130 for this service call. When I asked why the install event wasnt used to cover the issue, the SEARS service tech said that the installation was only warranted for 30 days. We have ceased doing all business with SEARS.

I bought the Kitchenaid 5 door refrigerator (French Door) in May 2016. The ice maker went out a couple months after I got it and it was replaced and then 2 more times it was replaced in less than 6 months. I decided that maybe the water filter was the problem and didnt replace it. Took it out and didnt have any more problems with the ice maker. Now only 3..5 years later it started having more problems but not with the Ice Maker. It completely stopped cooling and everything in the freezer thawed out and had to be thrown away including things in the refrigerated area. I researched and they no one will provide an extended service on it because they dont cover french door refrigerators. Now I know why they require too much service and dont work well. I called a repairman and will have to wait a few days for them to come out. Lo and behold I was woke up this morning to the sound of ice cubes dropping into the bucket. It has started cooling again. I am still having someone come out but am wary of this refrigerator and dont trust it. I spent over 3 thousand for it 3 years ago and never again will have a french door refrigerator or a Kitchenaid one.

We bought out KITCHENAID dishwasher for a few reasons, (1) we love our KITCHENAID small appliances and (2) they were recommended by the sales person in the store. Our experience with all of our KITCHENAID large appliances has been very disappointing. Quality for price is zero. We have repaired our dishwasher 8 times in 8 years. To the point where the repairman is like an old friend! Our other KitchenAid appliances have had multiple repairs as well. While wiping out the interior of the upper oven to my KitchenAid Electric Double Oven Range, after completing a 2.5 hour self-cleaning process and the cool down period, I noticed an area of the blue interior coating (enamel?) began chipping away. The oven is less than one year old and under warranty. A service person inspected the oven, stated this part is not removable for replacement or repair. The service person telephoned in the concern and was informed of a patch/repair paint kit and said it will be shipped to me. However, it was suggested I contact KitchenAid directly if I found this solution to be unsatisfactory. After the departure of the service person, I inspected the chipped area further. Cracking was noticed on both sides of the chipped area that extends out an inch to an inch and a half on each side causing concern that the issue will continue.KitchenAid customer service was contacted and this manufacturing defect was reported. The KitchenAid customer service representative stated that KitchenAid is not able to provide any help or assistance with this issue since these material and workmanship defects are excluded from warranty coverage after 30 days from the date of purchase.

One week after purchasing a new KitchenAid fridge, it began spitting ice all over the floor randomly. We had to put it in vacation mode every time we left the house otherwise we risked wrecking out expensive hardwood floor. After about a month, the part arrived (they replaced the main CPU) it was repaired. That lasted about 4 months then it began randomly puking ice on to the floor again. They sent out another CPU and the front screen and said that would fix it. In the meantime, the ice dispenser stopped working as well as the main freezer compartment. We lost all of the meat in our freezer (roughly $1000 worth). Our fridge has been down for almost 2 months now and now they tell us the fridge has to be gutted. It has a system seal leak which cannot be fixed on site. Our fridge will be sent out for repair and we will be without a fridge for 4-6 weeks. They offered $100 for us to purchase a small fridge to get us by! What a crock. Our refrigerator has a documented design flaw and they refuse to replace it. Their solution is to have someone come to our house and completely strip the inside out so we are left with a metal box. Then, the person is going to build one out of all new parts. I will have a frankenstein that will not be inspected by anyone, no quality control, and no idea if its being done properly. Our 7 year old KitchenAid Kss42QMSO1 side by side started chirping, the internal control panel lights were flashing and we could not adjust or control the temperature using the buttons. I first called the Kitchen Aid HELP LINE (that is an oxymoron). Talking to the fridge would have been just as helpful and all they were interested in doing was dispatching a service man, when he showed up we were advised that it was the control board # W 10219463 that had failed. When I asked the cost to replace it he advised that it was no longer available because the factory in Japan had been destroyed by the Tsunami. This was two years ago, and this huge company had done nothing to create a new supply?? Can you imagine Toyota or Sony using that excuse? Our only option was to send the control board to Chicago for repair and have the fridge / freezer out of commission for 3 to 4 weeks, also we had to sign some kind of a liability waiver. I thanked the service man and advised I would get back to him, then I started to surf the net and after some time I came across this web site and thankfully the blog from Chris in North Van. I live in White Rock and if I knew your address I would drop off a very good bottle of wine on my way to Whistler. Thank you, after reading your info I asked the service man to come back and remove the board. However he said he was prevented by Whirlpool / Kitchen Aid from doing this unless it was sent to Chicago. I contacted another excellent service man who is independent and had him do the removal. I would say unless you are very mechanical you would be better to go this route. He also advised that it was often the evaporator fan that caused the circuit board malfunction. Once it was removed I found it to be exactly as per the photo from Chris. I was able to locate the capacitor from SMI Industrial Electronics in the nearby suburb of Langley, it is a 22ouf 10X12 HI TEMP CAPACITOR 85 o and cost the princely sum of 36 cents (I even purchased a spare). I then took this to an electronics repair man who tested and removed the defective capacitor and installed the new one in less than 5 minutes, he would not even accept any payment. I would advise that unless you are used to working on circuit boards and have a very fine tipped soldering iron I would use an expert, even if he charges you. It would be easy to short out the wires with too much solder. I took this home and the service man came back and installed the circuit board and a new evaporator fan which for some reason is a stock item and in about 1/2 hour the fridge was humming, no chirping and we were able to set the freezer for 0 F and the fridge for 37 F. The temperatures both initially read the 70 F air temp. but started to fall quickly and a few hours later we heard the first ice being made and everything is working just fine. Our total bill including the fan was $260.00. Thanks again Chris, and like you I am amazed that the so-called help line would not advise of this. I am fairly certain our first service man knew of this option because when I told him about the info from Chris he was not the least bit surprised. He probably would be blacklisted if he went against the companys policies. Good Luck!

I bought my refrigerator in 2004 and started having problems right after the 12 months mark. The freezer would turn into a big iceberg. The refrigerator is warm and sweaty. First technician who came out said the board controlling the temperature had to be replaced for $300. Since the fridge started working properly again, I never replaced the part. After working on and off for several years, with me hammering ice from the inside of the freezer at least once every other week, now it totally stopped working. The freezer and all vents are completely frozen, including the vents in the refrigerator. The refrigerator is warm and moldy and I keep throwing food away. Technicians sent by KA hold me hostage in my own home with 4-hour window appointments and then show up out of that time frame and leave sorry, we missed you notes on my door. Every time I call Customer Service, I get a different answer going from sorry, you are totally out of warranty to only certain parts are still covered. Once you pay someone to come out and look at it, well be able to tell if the part is covered or not. I live in FL where everything has to be refrigerated. Im about to roll the fridge to the curb and buy another one... any brand as long as its not KitchenAid.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher came with our new house and it is indeed very quiet and does a good job washing dishes. The third rack is great improvement over the door-mounted utensil rack in our old Whirlpool (same company). However after two years st started blowing the circuit breaker and a second technician said it was a bad control board. These are back ordered 3-4 weeks. It has been down for a month and probably another month or more before it gets repaired. KitchenAid ought to keep a stock of parts that are failing on their products. It was the same problem getting the microwave fixed 6 months ago.

Our house (built in 2006) came with KitchenAid SS appliances. All of them have had issues. In 2010 our dishwashers thermal fuse burnt. We replaced it and it worked for a while. Then after about 6 months, it failed again. I had it replaced again and it worked for a while. I now have the flashing Normal and Cancel lights. Pulled the power plug and connected it back after 15 minutes. Still the same issue. Came to know that it is either a keypad or control board issue. So then we started using it to store manually washed vessels. Then one day, while opening the door, I heard a snap and then the door fell loose instead of going down gently. I noticed a cord sticking out of the bottom with frayed end. As I shone my flashlight through the bottom corner, I noticed a plastic piece which was probably attached to the cord/rope and I could also see a large spring lying on the floor underneath the dishwasher (on the side), which I am assuming this plastic was connected to. So the cord would pull on the spring and slow the opening of the door. It looks like the knot of the cord came undone and then the plastic fell off and came unattached from the spring. Such badly designed appliances. The torsion spring on my microwave broke twice and the door falls freely. Not fixing again. Never again will I buy an appliance of theirs or Whirlpool.

It is amazing to me that KitchenAid is continuing to stick their head in the sand when it is obvious that a problem exists with the oven shutting off. I preheated the oven to 375 and put the food in the oven for no more than 15 minutes and the oven shut off. I have tried shutting off the breakers, pressing 3, which I read on a blog resets the lock-out, and nothing worked. So, I googled KitchenAid Superba wall oven and sure enough found the same complaint on multiple sites. This does qualify for a class action lawsuit. I am not one for suing as the lawyers make out the best in the long run. But it is ridiculous that the company has not stepped up and helped out their customers. Shame on you, KitchenAid!

On 8/12, I came home and loaded dishwasher (purchased 2/12), attempted to run. My wife said she didnt think it was operating correctly, so she tried it again. After a short time, she noticed it was off. I then went to check it out myself. I turned it on and at that time, I thought I heard water. I quickly turned it off and opened the dishwasher. It was dry. I closed the door and started to remove the trim panel and water started coming out. I then went downstairs (finished basement) and my ceiling was flooded and falling apart, carpet soaked and furniture wet. I was upset at first but thought, well, its just the basement, it wont affect us too much while repairs are being done. I called the insurance company and they sent out Water Mitigation Crew right away. They started to clean up in the basement and drying the floor joist. They then tested the kitchen floor and found that the water had seeped under the backer-board and they had to tear up half of our (less than 6 months old) kitchen floor/tile to dry it out properly. It had also worked its way into the living room area and cupped up some of my hardwood floor. So upon calling KitchenAid, they said they would send a certified tech out. He came out to see what went wrong and found the pump had came off at one of the factory clamp (crimp style). The tech called tech support, they said put a hose clamp on it. The tech did not feel comfortable with doing that, to be honest with you, neither does my wife and I since there are multiple crimp style clamps on the unit. The tech did not do the repair and recommended replacement. KitchenAid said they need a second opinion and that either way, they would not replace the unit and they need to install a hose clamp on it. Keep in mind, this appointment is now over 2 weeks away and my insurance company is not authorizing any repairs to my home until the defective dishwasher is replaced or repaired. Im just outside of Atlanta city limits and the best they can do is 2 weeks for service? I didnt mention the day this happened was the first day we brought home our newborn (really doesnt matter) but it adds to the stress level, and half of our kitchen is torn apart. Im not even going to get into how poor the customer service was over the phone with KitchenAid other than the fact nobody in that company can make a decision and you speak to someone different every time and they pass you around and you have to re-explain the situation. We are not sure what to do. We may remove the dishwasher and buy a different one (not comfortable with existing) so we can move forward with getting our home fixed. With what we paid for the deductible and what our insurance has authorized for the basement and new kitchen floor, we are at almost $11,000. The Water Mitigation Company is coming back out to check out the hardwood floors again and may have to replace that. We were not expecting an unscheduled remodel of our kitchen and possibly our living room floor. One of my biggest problems Im having is, when I ask customer support if a repair is done, what kind of peace of mind do we get knowing this wont happen again via house damaged/flooded, the answer I keep getting is, as long as its within 30 days, we will come out for no charge and fix the dishwasher. It seems to me they couldnt care less our home is damaged. I would imagine now that I have a water damage claim with insurance, I will have to disclose this when we try to sell the home some day. My insurance could go up. We are so upset/angry/dissatisfied. Words cannot describe. I have asked more than once to speak to someone above a supervisor in the company and I was told that person doesnt talk to customers. I want my house fixed back to the way it was and I really dont feel I should be responsible for the deductible and I dont think its fair to my insurance company either. Im very frustrated and dont know what to do.

I have never complained publicly before but for the protection of other consumers, I must share what happened to me yesterday with my KitchenAid stove and oven that I purchased 7 years ago for $1,245.00 (model number KGRA806PBT). It is supposed to be the top of the line product with convection oven. First of all, I agree with many people who have written here. I tried the self-cleaning oven one time when I first purchased it and it overheated and the thermal protector failed. The part was covered but not the service call ($100.00). I have never used the self-cleaning feature since. Also, for the past year, the oven has not always worked. As it heats up, I will often get an error sign on the panel. So, I just have not done much baking. Yesterday, I was not even using the stove or oven, and I heard a hissing noise in the kitchen and then a popping sound and then fire! The printed circuit board started a fire in the oven which immediately filled the entire kitchen with black smoke and flames. If I had not been home, I would have lost my house! But I happened to have been home! My husband was also home, although he was supposed to be at work. Thankfully he had a fire extinguisher in the barn so before much damage was done, he had the fire out. Of course Elders Appliance in Grandville, MI, where we bought the stove and oven, (and all our other KitchenAid appliances) said they have never had any complaints! Ya, right! Please do not ever buy a KitchenAid product. Terrible!

Bought this June of 2016. Looks great and worked great. Received the ultimate error code. PO flashed every 10 minutes or so. Fridge shuts down and restarts. Fridge and freezer parts stopped working correctly. Replaced the pantry Drawer UI PCB circuitry board and the harness attached as instructed by Whirlpool through an authorized repair facility. Six hours later, error code returns and there are no noticeable changes. Had the evaporator motor replaced at a follow-up date, as the original part was wrong that was shipped. This cooled the fridge and freezer correctly, but the PO error code returned.$800 later, tech support at Whirlpool has 2 or 3 more ideas as to what else it could be. The fridge is out of warranty and customer support can only offer me $75 to help for the $3,500 spent. My 14-year-old Conquest fridge by Whirlpool in the warm garage is working better and has only cost me $45 in parts since new for a new fan motor. The design problem is that there is a circuit board under the water dispenser, and no way to keep any leaking water from frying the circuit if that was ever a problem. Im hoping the next dart we throw hits the problem(s) and fixes the issue.

I have had this fridge for three years. We have been seeing issues with every feature on it. The lights won’t come on, the ice maker is malfunctioning, it won’t dispense water or ice. The fridge will turn off completely for hours and sometime days. My only saving grace is to unplug the fridge, wait ten minutes and plug it in. When I do this, the fridge goes back to normal for about a week.I reached out to Kitchenaid and they sent a tech to my house. The technician told me that there is a common error with the circuitry stemming from the deli drawer. If you read all the negative reviews you will see I am not the only one experiencing the issue. The technician did all his diagnostics and found nothing. He called the tech hotline for Kitchenaid and they told him this is a common issue with this model. The deli circuit and wiring needs to be replaced. They have done it to hundreds of this model. (READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.) The technician told me that even though there are many models that have gone through this, it is not covered under warranty. The parts start at $600 not including labour. When I called Kitchenaid back and told them of the issues and how this is a common issue, they did not deny this. They did say that yes there are a lot of negative reviews on here about this problem, as there are a lot of negative reviews about any product on the internet. They advised that even though it could be a manufacturer defect, the warranty is one year on this and they will do nothing for me. Marie from the Whirlpool Hotline was very adamant that regardless how many people are experiencing this issue, the warranty is one year. Kitchenaid will not repair the fridge, and I am on the hook for what should be considered a recall due to manufacturer defect.I have since reported the issue to the consumer protection act, and advised them that Kitchenaid is aware of the defect, even acknowledges it, but won’t repair or replace. I am not asking for cash back for the food that was spoiled, nor am I asking for a new fridge. I just want the defect repaired, but that is too much to ask outside of one year.

Broken adjuster assembly KUDE40FXSS3 - Just under two years old and this is our third problem with this KitchenAid dishwasher. First the electronic locking latch stopped working properly. Then the dishwasher wouldnt drain properly. And now the rolling wheel mechanism of the upper rack (adjuster assembly) is broken. The design of the assembly is poorly done, since it will be under daily attack from soap and hot water and the small plastic parts that hold the wheels eventually break and cause the entire upper rack to fall.

I too purchased a KitchenAid KUD301X a little over 3 years ago and was told yesterday by the repair person that the motor needs to be replaced for approx. $350 on top of the diagnostic/service call ($111) to replace it and would only be guaranteed for 1 year. Unfortunately, this was not our first repair; we needed control board replaced once previously, not to mention the numerous parts we needed to repair the top rack (on more than one occasion the pieces would break off and the plastic would wear out and the rack would not be able to stay within its frame.I truly believe it is a defective dishwasher and am waiting to participate in a class-action lawsuit once one is created. I cannot recommend this product at all. I am very dissatisfied with the service center as well. I purchased this product based on previous good rating posted. However perhaps those owners had not had the product for 3 years at the time. Will NEVER purchase a KitchenAid product again.

We purchased KitchenAid KUDS30IVWH3 a year and a half ago from Lowe’s. All new dishwashers have a new connector that hooks the water supply to dishwasher. It simply screws onto a plastic piece. Over time this connector simply came loose. It flooded our kitchen and laundry room which has been three months of restoration - new floors, rebuilt cabinets, etc. And it cost many thousands of dollars for the insurance company. It has been a serious problem. The plumber said these new connectors are not safe and he gets nervous every time he installs one. He said they cannot be refit with a different connector. I am the second person he has had with major flooding in the home due to the new connectors. He said the European dishwashers still have the old brass connectors.

We contacted KitchenAid. They will not fix it unless we buy their extended warranty for $254 or they will come fix it for $129 just to show up and more for the parts! Its unbelievable that they set us up! They did not fix it, just delayed the problem until we would have to pay more money! I would never recommend buying their products! I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator. I could never get the ice maker out. Later found out it was stuck shut. At about 11 months I notices residue on the bottom of my glass after my drink sat. The volume of the powdery substance was quite substantial and noticeable. I really worked on the ice maker and forced it open. There was a pile of white powder inside the ice maker and on the sides of the interior. I cleaned it thoroughly removing all white power and thought the problem was solved. They just forgot to clean it before shipping it. After cleaning it the water/ice was clear. Within 3 months I noticed the white powder was back in my drinks. I cant believe how much of this powder I must have ingested. I called KitchenAid. Sorry you are out of warranty. I suggested they come out and get a sample of this white powder and identify it as harmless or toxic, if not for me then other who may have not noticed it. Sorry your out of warranty. Can I send you a sample of this powder and you can tell me what it is and if it is normal to be in my drinks. No. CAUTION!! LOOK in the bottom of your glass after the ice has melted. Dont let your children drink this substance. Write me if you have had similar experience.

In September of 2016 we purchased a very expensive KitchenAid fridge, almost $3,000. It was supposed to be the top of the line. Thank goodness we bought the extended warranty, because as I write this I am waiting for the repairman to come out for the FOURTH time. This will be the third time that ice has built up along the inside of the back wall, and to fix it requires the unit to be shut off, drawers and shelves removed, and the ice to melt away so he can open up the back and do his thing. The ice build up impacts the fan, creating a loud noise, and inhibits the ability of the unit to make ice. The other service call was for a malfunctioning deli tray control. I loved my Kitchenaid krff507e, until I didnt. Spoiled milk and sour orange juice is a bad way to start your day. I called Customer Service, and even though the fridge was just a little over a year old, they refused repair service. After much time spent on Google, I found the resolution for the frost behind the Deli/Cheese drawer and why the fridge wasnt cooling to acceptable temperature. The Temperature Sensor was in the wrong place. An actual appliance repairman was kind enough to post that this was KNOWN to Kitchenaid, that there was actually a technical service bulletin FOR this issue. Now, given that I spent $2500 on a fridge that I could only use for a year, I was not about to spend another dime for service, and since kitchenaid was not offering to repair what, in my opinion, SHOULD have been recalled, I fixed it myself. Hopefully my fridge and I will have many great years together, no thanks to Kitchenaid.

We purchased model #KSS048QTB02 in August of 2009. This was the second 48 KitchenAid built-in we purchased along with all other high-end KitchenAid appliances in our kitchen. On January 22, 2016 the refrigerator could not maintain temperature and I called for service - right before a blizzard was expected. The factory warranty service provider was able to schedule with me for the next day but my extended warranty coverage would not send that particular provider. Their provider could not come out for a week. We purchased a small refrig to get us through and figured it could be a backup. We still lost about $1,000 of frozen meats and food that could not fit in the small refrig. Their service guy could not handle the problem - determined to be compressor failure - because they are not qualified to do sealed system repairs. Whatever that means. The original factory warranty service provider had a tech injured and was no longer available to come out to fix. KitchenAid said part WAS available but 2 days later was no longer available. Apparently so many back orders, they went out right away. I have now ordered privately and should get one from next batch supposedly later this month. My appliance salesperson tells me KitchenAid is trying to protect the brand, but I have not seen any help from them or the warranty company they recommend - Federal Warranty Service/Assurant. I have been getting the runaround for weeks. Every time I call they tell me claims will be in touch with me in 4-5 business days. They say the unit is no longer repairable and they will offer buyout - I presume they mean buyout of my service contract which is nothing considering this was basically a $10,000 refrigerator that barely lasted 6 years. Never again. So much for brand quality. What a disappointment. In every way.

I used to love KitchenAid. I had a suite (dishwasher, refrigerator and range/oven) from them for 10 years in my old home and had no issues. Naturally, when I went to purchase appliances for my kitchen remodel in my new home, I bought KitchenAid again. A year after they were installed, the fan in the oven started to rattle and I began to notice surface rust on the appliances. Ive always used stainless steel cleaner, and I never had this issue with my old appliances. The rust will not even come off with the cleaner. KitchenAid sent out a service technician who fixed the fan and looked at the rust. He said the rust was a problem with all of the stainless steel appliances when they get any water on them. Seriously? A dishwasher, refrigerator and oven? When do they not get water on them? When I contacted KitchenAid, they told me it was a cosmetic issue and therefore not covered. They did call their service technician who said he only saw a small amount of surface rust on the stove and did not look at the other appliances. He also told them it was an environmental issue. (Totally different from the story he told me.). KitchenAid also said it was a cosmetic issue and there was nothing they could do about it as I had used the wrong brand of stainless steel cleaner and the environment was too moist. My home is 30 miles from the ocean in a desert climate, and my previous home (where I did not have problems) was much closer to the ocean, so how it that environmental? KitchenAid offered to send out a second technician out at my expense. I will never buy another KitchenAid product again.

As my daughter says, this isnt a dishwasher, its a sanitizer. What doesnt come clean? A coffee cup that sat overnight (coffee stains remain), a dish that was rinsed and 90% scrubbed that was put into the dishwasher immediately (before the food dries), knives with even a tad of peanut butter that was not 100% scrubbed off. Salesman told me it was their best seller and could clean the spots off a cat. They tell me that for my dishwasher to perform this badly, it must be a lemon. After nearly an hour on the phone with KitchenAid , I learned that if they send a technician out to check it, Ill owe $120 for the service call if the only problem is that the dishes arent clean. Yup, unless a service code/error comes up, Ill owe for them checking to see why it cleans so poorly. Cleaning dishes does not constitute a functional failure therefore dirty dishes are not covered by the warranty. Another call with a supervisor and theyre finally sending someone out and promised not to charge me as long as the technician can see how the dishes dont come clean (not a problem...since that happens every time).UPDATE: A trusted service technician came out today and ran it through its paces. No error codes. Nothing wrong though he agreed that the dishes that were not cleaned were something that hes experienced too. He said that the machine is as good as it can be and noted that the poor cleaning is probably from the new engineering that uses much less water. He suggested using TOUGH and HI TEMP every time and that it might cut the dirty dishes down to 10% or so. Not exactly a rave review and since its not defective Im stuck with a dishwasher that only sanitizes. The tech told me that any decent dishwasher does NOT require you to wash the dishes first; He said that a good rinse that removes the food particles is enough. He agreed that a dishwasher should actually do much better than the selection of still-dirty dishes on my countertop after the testing. But per KitchenAid, theres nothing wrong with my machine. If youre okay with COMPLETELY washing the dishes before putting them into the dishwasher OR rewashing about 1/4 of the load after doing a thorough rinsing before this machine, then buy it. Its very quiet and pretty. But if you expect a dishwasher to wash dishes well, dont say I didnt warn you. When you pull your dishes out after doing a load in this machine, you will remember this cautionary tale. Ill admit that I usually dismiss one or two bad reviews -- that person must be super picky or to the unit was a rare lemon. Im here to tell you that IF you get a machine like mine, and you go to KitchenAid for support, youll be logging on to write a review that continues my warning to others.

I bought all KitchenAid appliances at the beginning of 2013 and I have had to have the freezer fixed 3 times and now the cook top is broken. I have an extended warranty that I bought through KitchenAid. It is Dan Marc Appliance Repair in New Jersey and they are horrible. They either order the wrong part or the part comes broken. I always have to go 2 weeks without a refrigerator or freezer. And I also lose a freezer-full of food. KitchenAid, who is owned by Whirlpool, is horrible to deal with and I would not recommend them to anyone. And to me these appliances are new and to have them fixed 3 times in 2 years is not acceptable. They are also overpriced.

A little less than three years, we bought a high-end KitchenAid stove at Sears in Sarnia. I cook and bake a lot. I like to use the convection oven as well. However, right from the start, the fan seemed to be kind of noisy. When, after a cleaning cycle, the door did not open, I was very upset. They came out to repair it, and the repairman suggested that I should not clean it on a long weekend. He fixed it and the very bend fan from the convection.Today, remembering the affair, I did all my baking first and did the self cleaning. Once again, the door did not open at the end of the cycle; the front panel is also not lit at all. Paying this much money for an appliance and have such a let down is intolerable. Why is there no recall of such non-functioning appliance? These stoves should be taken back. I need to call them to come out and fix it once again. I have never had such unreliable appliance in all my life and I am certainly not recommending KitchenAid to anyone.

Tall side by side with brushed stainless finish and separate water and ice
Tall side by side with brushed stainless finish and separate water and ice dispensers tall enough for glassware. Finish shows fingerprints and other marks, but cleans off ok. Filter cartridge accessed from outside and at bottom vent area. Controls and seals good for this unit and energy consumption seems about right and reasonable. Still has limitations of side by side for storage and standard depth is not as desirable as counter depth.

First year microwave breaks, not getting anything hot. Have to pay for service call two weeks past warranty. Kitchenaid paid for parts not service call. Four months later, same problem, I have to pay again for service call and labor, not sure about parts. I’ve decided to never buy Kitchenaid or its other companies Whirlpool etc.. I have a total Kitchenaid kitchen, never again, bought a Samsung. It takes a long time to build trust and respect, it doesn’t take long to lose it. Good luck Kitchenaid.

I purchased the KFIS29BBMS French Door Bottom Freezer refrigerator in 12/13. On November 1, 2014 the refrigerator quit cooling and the freezer quit. Of course, we lost food. The dealership brought us a loaner refrigerator because it took several weeks for the part to be delivered. It was repaired on Dec. 12, 2014. On Christmas Day 2014 while we were gone, it quit working again. Again we lost food. It was picked up to be repaired by the dealership on 12/26/14. The old loaner fridge was brought back and I havent seen my refrigerator since. I have called Whirlpool corporation and have been given the standard warranty speech that they will repair it. I have asked for a new refrigerator to replace mine since it was less than 1 year old and obviously defective. Supervisor Chris was not helpful and said I shouldnt have bought the refrigerator if I didnt like the warranty. So count me in if a class action suit is started. I suggest we now go to social media and tell the stories.

Brackets keep breaking on the glass rack. Very unhappy with this. Currently can’t run dishwasher and only a year old. Other than that this has been a great dishwasher that we use every single day. I love the options. Not happy about broken brackets repeatedly.

I purchased all KitchenAid appliances with the thought that they were the best. Since the purchase, the dishwasher has been repaired three times and is currently needing repair again; the refrigerator has been repaired twice - once the compressor had to be replaced; the range has been repaired twice and still takes about an hour to preheat, in addition the surface knobs turn on so easily that just brushing against them turns the burners on accidentally - the dog has turned them on twice - once when no one was home - nearly catching the house on fire; the microwave currently makes a popping noise and has had to be repaired once before. All of these repairs are in addition to minor repairs like refrigerator shelves/doors breaking and handles coming off. I will never again buy a KitchenAid appliance. KitchenAid products are worthless and have a terrible design.

KitchenAid range was purchased then failed 13 months later. Appliance was fixed under extended warranty that I purchased. Now 14 months after being fixed, range has failed again with same issue. Research showed that this same issue has happened to multiple people with same results. Whirlpool/KitchenAid is in denial stating no recall, no service issues.
