The KitchenAid range oven is a great item, the only issue that I have is that the temperature in the oven seems to be hotter than the set temperature. Other than that it fits well with my kitchen and provides a modern look.

I purchased model KDTE104ESS1 in the Spring of 2017. The motor failed after 2 years of light use. We were advised that it would be $550.00 to replace the motor. The Service Tech was surprised the motor failed so soon. After some research, I discovered that this was a known problem, so I reached out to KitchenAid to see what they could/would do (especially given the cost of the unit, its light usage, short lifespan and cost of repair). Their response was swift and simple-- they would do absolutely NOTHING! No discount for a new motor/repair, no coupon/rebate for a new KitchenAid dishwasher-- absolutely NOTHING. They are completely unwilling to stand by their product. Makes my decision easy - I will never again spend a penny on any KitchenAid product. RUN- Invest your purchasing dollars with a company willing to do the right thing and stand by its Products. I will be purchasing another dishwasher and IT WILL NOT BE KITCHENAID.

Purchased this unit in 2010 with an extended warranty. The unit died in 2012 and was able to get it replaced because of the extended warranty. However an extended warranty was not offered to me on the replacement. The replacement was installed in November 2012 and failed to heat anything in 2015, approximately 2 1/2 years old. I called KitchenAid and spoke with their representative in Tennessee, I explained that this was the second microwave that failed in a two year timeframe. The lady was not very helpful. All she wanted to do was sell me a warranty or I could pay to have a technician come out and look at it. She advised me complaints on defective manufacturing are based on Service Technician calls since they did not have any for this Model then there is nothing wrong with it. I asked her why would 2 of the same units fail during the same time frame and KitchenAid would not recognize that something is wrong with the unit. I told her I could buy a microwave for less than $100.00 and it would last longer than this model. She told me I should have bought an extended warranty. Apparently I am to blame because I did not get an extended warranty from them for $329.00. At this point she stopped listening to my questions and proceeded in a very loud voice which can be heard clearly from 3 feet away that KitchenAid stands behind their product and there is nothing wrong with that Model microwave because there have not been any complaints. I told her to search the internet. If KitchenAid sold quality products and stand behind their products why would there be a need for an extended warranty. Very, very poor customer service. Therefore if you buy a KitchenAid appliance buy a very long extended warranty because their items are not cheap and the warranty is not cheap also.

I purchased an expensive refrigerator based on previous experience with KitchenAid. In 2003 I purchased a refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. No calls ever to the customer service for any problems. They lasted 14 years. Thats why I went with them again. BIG BIG MISTAKE. This refrigerator Model#KRMF706ESS has been a problem since I plugged it in. I have missed almost two weeks of work waiting for technicians. I have had many service calls for the same issue and Im still not sure if its resolved. The last technician came out last week and within days my refrigerator is broken again. We started seeing puddles on the floor. The ice was melting in the container. We emptied container and now it doesnt make ice. I called KitchenAid, nothing they can do, when is enough, enough with these people. There was nothing wrong with the money I gave them for the refrigerator. I purchased a new appliance and its been nothing but a pain. They have replaced the same part three times. It still wont fix the problem. I am beyond frustrated. If I could give negative stars I would. When I contact the customer service department its like I am bothering them and wasting their time. They are wasting mine. Customer Service is a thing of the past with their rude customer service people and they dont care now that they have my money. It wasnt working right from the start and it continues to be a problem. I have lost faith in my refrigerator. I dont know if I could go on holidays and leave this appliance on. I wonder if anyone else is having a problem with this refrigerator. The service guy said that they have had nothing but problems with this model. They didnt test it long enough. I guess whoever buys it is a guinea pig. I would never ever ever recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid again. This is the absolute worst service. Since Day 1 it hasnt worked properly. They tell me in order for it to be replaced it has to not be cooling. A technician has to report to them that it is unrepairable and then after he does that, they send it to their engineers and then they see if they can come up with a solution. They could care less how many days of work I miss. They are waiting for my warranty to expire so they can take me to the cleaners for the continued work I know will have to be done once it is out of warranty. Thats the day they are waiting for... class action... thats the day I am waiting for. I know its only $5000.00 but it has cost me more than that now with all the time off work. What happened to the days where companies actually cared about the customer??? I was told the first time I bought the KitchenAid back in 2003 was when it was KitchenAid KitchenAid, now it is KitchenAid Whirlpool and now it sucks!!!!

The problems started right after the 1-yr warranty expired. So first the top rack came off, the roller plastic part broke. Although the racks are supposed to be a 2-yr warranty item, only the rack itself, not the mounting parts are and therefore the roller part was not covered. Next, the Control Cycle lights for the 1-hour Energy saver wash cycle stayed on, dim when not chosen and bright if chosen. I called Customer Support and was not given any help except an offer to hire a technician starting at $180 to see what is wrong. I went online to see what was available, tried a few recommendations but nothing helped turn the light completely. Next came the detergent door latch not working. I ordered the part for $110 and it came with no installation instructions. I called customer service and nothing was available to help us install the replacement part. I managed to replace it and that works now, but now again, at only 1 yr and 7 months, the dishwasher now has additional lights that will not shut off completely and none of the wash cycles work. So I am without a dishwasher and just horrified to call them again. I wish we never got our KitchenAid Dishwasher.

Count me in the group of very angry KSSC42QTSOO refrigerator owners. My circuit board started to ting about one month ago. It was sent to CoreCentric 1 week ago, and Im hopeful to have a working refrigerator in another week or two. In my Google search of this problem, I came upon an interesting post (which I could not relocate today) that may be helpful to some. A realtor from Ariz posted her problem with the same circumstances; same circuit board part number (W10121049 and substitute board 10219462. She said her husband had experience with soldering and circuit boards and was able to repair their refrigerator with a $5 capacitor, purchased at Radio Shack. She said she had found out these boards had defective capacitors manufactured in South Korea. Sure enough, my repairman showed me the rounded top of the blown out capacitor on my circuit board... Dont scrap the fridge until you check all avenues. However, never buy a KitchenAid appliance again.

The caddy where the silverware is place into is all corroded making holes on the caddy pieces fall off. The stove door has fallen - have to unscrew the doors due to the style of the appliance. Food, grease falls in between the door and glass due to vents. The stainless steel which it is not stainless as they say is a poor type of metal that the appliance look smear all the time. I am able to stick door magnets on the door. Kitchen Aid will not take care of problem. The door and bins are the only good organization component. Unused space as too many high places. Ice maker the other day pumped water into the freezer area and leaked out onto the floor. The electronic control for the fan failed. Called a repair tech to fix. Was told that we needed part # W10219463 which showed a cost of 220.00 in his system. Told him to order part. Got a call later that part is no longer made by manufacturer and that we needed to call KitchenAid. KitchenAid told us to call a appliance parts company that they recommended. Quote from them was 805.00 and they had one in stock. When you add that to the cost to install the part with a repairman I am better off buying a new fridge from a manufacturer that has affordable parts.

Called about cracks on inside of door. Two horizontal cracks the largest about 10 long. They told me needed to have a service rep come out. Cost 99.99. I find out this is a common problem with KitchenAid refrigerators and is not covered by any warranty even an extended warranty would have expired in my case (6yrs). The repair is tape and screws or door replacement. This is obviously poor manufacturing that KitchenAid refuses to acknowledge. Shame on them.

I called the recommend repair service and was told it would be too costly to replace the control panel and to buy a new dishwasher. I called KitchenAid and was told to turn off the circuit breaker that provides power to the dishwasher. This works but must be turned off after each use. If I dont turn it off immediately after using it and try and do it later, it takes days before it operates again and the circuit panel must be off during the wait.

Kitchen Aid Refrigerator MOD # KSF26C6XYY04 Low quality - I bought this refrigerator from Sears as a slightly physically damaged product. That didnt bother me. What bothers me is that the cheap plastic draws inside the refrigerator side have all cracked and broken. When I called customer service in a right to work for less state they said that they would replace them, but that if it happened again it was a one time thing. Why I asked? They said the fronts of the drawers are cosmetic? Are you kidding me? You cannot open the drawer without the front on it. Can you open a cabinet without a handle, a front door without a door knob? I am incredibly disappointed with this company. We had a Kitchen Aid refrigerator we bought in 2000 and it was great. This is a $2000 sub par product. Stay away from companies like Kitchen Aid that build low quality products and then dont back up their own warranties. I will not buy from this manufacturer again.

We call certified repair and were told that the Tsunami had destroyed their plant and they no longer had the parts in order to repair the fridge. They told me they could rebuild the board but no guarantee would be given for the part and it would take anywhere from 2-3 months to rebuild. The fridge was 5 years and two months old. This is the worst customer service I have ever been given and the most rude responses by the executive offices. I will never - repeat never buy another appliance by KitchenAid or Whirlpool again. Buyer Beware!!!!

The door panel and control panel get too hot to touch. I had to wear my oven mitt to change the functions on the control panel. This KitchenAid oven (KSGG700ESS) is a safety hazard for anyone with children or others as the exterior becomes so hot, it is untouchable. I had the same oven delivered as a replacement, and had the exact same issue. Plus, KitchenAid is in denial, and takes multiple departments and calls to try to argue with them, this after a service tech came out, confirmed it was extremely hot, but wouldnt write the word defect. Did I mention that KitchenAid (KRSC503ESS) also delivered a new refrigerator that was a lemon with a freezer that did not get cold?

I bought a KSCS25INS00 side by side and in its 3rd year of operation, the center wall between the fridge and the freezer started getting too hot to touch. When I bought the fridge from Sears, it stayed in their warehouse for one and half year (paid for) due to some family issue and therefore, when the problem happened, I was told it’s out of warranty. A technician checked it out and claimed the control board is bad. To my surprise, some time later, I was told KitchenAid does not sell this part anymore and I have to send it to some rebuilder for the tune of almost $500.00 plus shipping and of course, labor (about $875.00). I don’t think this a fair deal, to spend nearly $3000.00 for a fridge (I figured buying high end appliance will have fewer problems). That’s not bad enough. I had bought a stove and a dishwasher as well. The stove shows an error message and I have to pull it out and disconnect and reconnect every so often. The dishwasher had broken basket pieces and broken door spring line and roller. Now Im in the hell of a mess. Do I spend $800-900 fixing what I have or spend $1200.00 to buy another piece of junk to replace my HIGH END KitchenAid?

Had the same thing happen with a potato that I sensor cooked this evening. I am so thankful that I was in the kitchen when it happened. The potato actually caught on fire and the flames were inside the microwave. I had to take the potato out of the oven and burned myself in the process. I dont dare use it now. If I had been in another room, who knows what would have happened? As far as Im concerned, its trashed! From what I have been reading here from you folks, it doesnt appear that KitchenAid is very helpful no matter what the problem. You pay top $ for what you think is a good product, lesson learned. I purchased the KitchenAid dishwasher model KDTM704ESS0, for around $1400 in 2015. After three years of light use (there are only two of us) the wash motor seized up and needs to be replaced at a cost of $500-$600. I called KitchenAid and they told me the motor was no longer in warranty so they would do nothing. This is my fourth KitchenAid dishwasher in forty years. None of my other KitchenAid dishwashers have ever needed a repair of any sort. In fact, I have never even had a service call on any of my other KitchenAid dishwashers. The previous dishwashers were replaced due to kitchen remodeling or upgrading, not because they stopped working. I cannot believe that a main component of this expensive dishwasher would last only three years. I would think twice about buying a new KitchenAid. I know two other people who have had their KitchenAid dishwasher motors fail after only approximately three years. Sad that the KitchenAid quality isnt there anymore! Also sad that the company is OK with a customer spending $1400 and having the product last for only three years!

My family bought this range as it was one of the few gas stove downdraft ranges that could be installed in the middle of an island. It is pretty in our island but it is a TERRIBLE and I mean TERRIBLE range. The oven cooks uneven so dont even thinking about trying to bake anything. Over the holiday, the only way I could get by without burning the food was to place the thickest part of the leg of lamb towards the back. Not to mention that it probably takes about 30 minutes to even get the oven to 350 degree heat. It is ridiculous that something this expensive would perform so poorly. To top this off, the self cleaning function does not work.I decided to use regular oven cleaner and that was a big mistake. Now the inside of the oven is peeling. I contacted Kitchenaid to see if it was safe to cook and their representatives are basically robots and would not provide me with an answer or anyone else who could help, they just kept repeating we dont suggest harsh oven cleaning products. I think 450 degree heat is pretty harsh, so how can an oven cleaner be worst? HUGE disappointment overall and would not recommend or ever purchase a Kitchenaid product again.

So disappointed. Worst fridge Ive ever had, at any price. Its runs so loud that it sounds like a machine gun. Seriously, it wakes me up. In addition, after only two years the ice maker broke. Its only got a one year warranty. I replaced it, and one year, ten days later, it started leaking, so my ice container constantly has a big block of unusable ice in it that I have to break up and throw out. Im not spending $300 annually to replace the ice maker, so I shut the thing off. Ive been making cubes in my $500 fridge/freezer thats in my garage. Kitchenaid obviously knows its an inferior ice maker, or they would warrantyit longer than one year. Its a piece of junk. Never again.

I purchased this dishwasher in October 2011 which was a Kitchen Aid model KUDC10IXWH4. This was installed in a basement kitchen which is only used at New Years and Easter and is run for a total of 10 loads per year. The control panel failed within the first five loads and we needed factory service. When the service tech arrived I was informed that we had to pay the labor and service call. This failure was in early 2102 after the unit was run for the New Year holiday. We were told by the tech that we should consider the extended warranty because these units constantly fail. The unit starts by itself. The thermal fuse fails about every 6th load at a replacement cost of $138 per trip. Kitchen Aid is absolutely useless in this process and deny any responsibility in this matter. As this unit has just been run enough to empty the sample bottle of Jet Dry and had for service calls I would tell anyone never to buy another Kitchen Aid appliance as we will not ever again. Their customer service is horrible!

I purchased a dishwasher from Lowes in 2015. 1st of all Lowes extended warranty runs consecutively with the manufacturers warranty so you really are getting 1 yr less of a warranty than you pay for. I had a service repair man come out and diagnose the problem and said it was $400.00 to repair. I called KitchenAid and they said it should still be under warranty because I had a 1 yr manufacturer warranty and I paid for a 3 yr extended warranty. WRONG!!! I called Lowes and thats when they said the extended warranty starts from day 1 of purchase, running the same time as the manufacturer. So I called KitchenAid back because the dishwasher does have a 2-5 yr manufacturer limited warranty BUT since I did not use one of their two service companies, both I have never heard of, to look at it, they will not cover the part needed and wont accept the other companys diagnosis because they are not an authorized service company with KitchenAid. The 1st customer service agent I had was very helpful, the 2nd call, the agent was not friendly at all. Said the 1st agent should have been more clear and have a good day. This is the first time I am taking out the time to write a review in hopes I can save people from making the bad choice of choosing KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. We have experienced several problems with several of their appliances but by far the worst is with our 42 side by side built in fridge (over $6,000.) Our first unit had so many problems within two years that Whirlpool finally replaced the unit. This was not easy but with good documentation, photos and me just not backing down, they finally did the right thing. We received the new unit on 12/3/08 (so only 4 years ago) and the icemaker which never really worked well is now broken and caused a lot of damage to our kitchen wood floor.Water dripped down through the bottom of the freezer door onto our hardwood floor. Unfortunately, water can do a lot of damage fast. After another frustrating experience with their customer service department, I finally got an appointment with a repair service. I wont even get into the details of that frustrating experience. Well, the ice making unit cannot be replaced because of insulation in the fridge door and we would have to purchase a brand new door. This would cost about $1,400 to replace and take 6 weeks to order the new door. Never mind the expense of replacing the hardwood floors. The Whirlpool Company could not care less. The door is rusted at the bottom, so this went on for a while but we did not notice it until it got really bad and the water started puddling in front of the fridge. Also just two weeks ago, we had work done on our 4 year old Whirlpool washing machine ($350 repair cost) and now it is starting to act up again. I assume that I will have to replace it soon since I am not willing to put any more money into it. These appliances are poorly built and dont represent the quality product they once were. I hope I was able to save someone out there from making the mistake of investing in any Whirlpool (or any of the other lines built by them) large appliance.

It was terrible. I purchased a dishwasher (model KUDS30CXWH) 10 months ago, and its been one problem after another. After a few months, the buttons stopped working. A few months later, it would rinse, then the rack wheels broke, and now it wont run at all. I replaced the card but I needed a bar. Of course, it takes a week to get the bar. KitchenAid doesnt care.

I bought the French doors refrigerator just 6 months ago and right away the fan was very noisy. Now 6 months in the temperature reading shows 125 on the freezer but yet it is freezing everything not just in the freezer but the fridge compartment. Called customer service and they took a week to send someone who just kept saying it’s the computer board. Even a non-technical person like me knew it was a thermostat issue. Takes another 10 days to come back with the new board and installs it and leaves. Nothing changed so I called back and then took another week to come back to test. Admits it’s the thermostat and says will order the part. 3 weeks after still no part and just fake promises, they are working on getting a thermostat. 5 weeks no working fridge and no sign of it being fixed or compensated for it or even replacement fridge. I actually don’t even want their garbage fridge or their lousy customer service! Just want my 5000 back. Do not get any Kitchen Aid appliances. They will give you a runaround.

We bought all new KitchenAid appliances in our new home 2 years ago. The refrigerator, French door, started having issues with the bottom veggie drawer not closing all the way. Ice was forming behind the drawer. Finally we went to the store where we purchased the appliances and they came out and repaired the problem. Cost $193. Wish we had purchased the extended warranty. I thought we were buying a better product because of the name and price. Next time I will buy GE $1000 or more cheaper than this brand. I wish things were built to last. Everything now is disposable and cost outrageous prices. Its sad that we pay such a high price and then have to pay 100s more to keep the thing working after only two years! From what Ive read in these reviews KitchenAid has really went downhill as a top of the line appliance. So as for me and mine no more KitchenAid.

I am deeply disappointed with KitchenAid, an appliance manufacturer whom I thought built high quality, reliable products and who stood behind their products. I have a model KSSSC48QMS03 refrigerator that constantly runs with 1 second pauses and pinging noise. Technician diagnosed as faulty Gemini board 2307028 (W10219463). I cannot believe that Kitchen Aid does not provide repair part 2307028 (W10219463)! My home is only 8 years old and a showcase of high-end KitchenAid built-in stainless steel appliances; 48 wide refrigerator, microwave, warming drawer, double drawer dishwasher and gas stove with steamer. This Gemini Electronic Control is for the refrigerator (and, according to the service technician, in the stove as well). There are all kinds of complaints on the internet about KA refrigerators running continuously with a sonar-like pinging noise diagnosed as this faulty board. It is unbelievable that I have a $9K refrigerator for which KA will not provide a replacement part. According to the KA recommended service company, the only solution is to send the board off to a refurbisher. I dont like to buy parts from someone that is not supported by the manufacturer. Not that they may not do a good job, but that its not a new part, factory tested with manufacturer warranty. If this is what I can expect from KA, then as these appliances need to be replaced, I will change to a manufacturer who supports their products. Unbelievable, KitchenAid (Whirlpool)! This is probably a $50 part to manufacture that they could sell easily for $300. How can they anger so many customers? One comment said that KA told them this was due to the Tsunami in Japan that wiped out the plant. We had a plant affected as well at my company and its not hard to take the design to another manufacturing location.

Kitchen Aid Gas Stoves seem to have issues with self-clean cycle. Shutting down cycle, blank display and door locked until thermal fuse is replaced. Kitchen Aid service representative who replaced control board (twice!) suggested not to use cleaning cycle. We have had two kitchenaid ranges in the last two years. The first one burnt up twice on the self-clean cycle and was replaced by a range with a higher speed blower fan that is extremely loud and annoying. Kitchenaid replaced the fan twice and have come to a conclusion that this is normal. When I first contacted Kitchenaid, their comment was we have had no noisy fan complaints. Service techs they have replaced many. Kitchenaid have told us they no longer going to help us with the noisy fan as it is normal. We are now stuck with a $2200 range. My husband and I bought a refrigerator from Gerhards at 9475 Roosevelt Blvd a Philadelphia, PA on 06/09/13. We also purchased the extended warranty thru them. Kitchen Aid model KF1S27CXMS, 27CF DR bam REF ICE KA, purchased from Gerry Gerhard, one of the owners. It was delivered about a week later, thought everything was okay. My husband noticed that the doors were not lining up, so service from Gerhards came out. First tech had no idea how to fix it so we scheduled another tech from Gerhards to come out. This time he said not only the doors were off, the right door was dented, he said he would recommend another fridge. So we had set up another date for a pick up and exchange. The next one was worse than the one we already had, so we scheduled another pick up and exchange. That also was damaged when it arrived at my house. So we called Jerry said we could pick out a different fridge but when we got there, he told us to travel to his Glenside store for a bigger selection. We picked out another brand but Jerry said it would be another $400.00 which we just couldnt afford, so we kept the original one with a $200.00 credit from Gerhards. Well about 2 months ago, the water and ice stopped working, so being under the warranty we were told to call Kitchen Aid and we were told to contact Quaker City which we did. The tech came out had to order a part, but in the meantime the fridge stopped being cold and the freezer quit. So Quaker City said food would stay good approx 48 hours. The part that was replaced didnt work so now there are 2 parts on order, and this was well before Thanksgiving!!!!!!! We had to throw all our food out! This has been and continues to be a complete disaster! We dont know who to turn to, I was so happy getting a French door freezer on the bottom with ice maker and water. Now I wish we kept our old no frills one! Communication with Quaker City is the Pits! I also called Gerry Gerhard and he wont return any of my calls! Great business ethics!!!!!

KitchenAid range KDRU783 - This stove has been a nightmare. First, the right-hand front burner was burning with an irregular, bright yellow flame. Called repair; their assessment Lady, you just need to use a bigger pot. (Pardon me, Im a chemist by training, I know incomplete combustion when I see it.) Called again, no better luck; spent several years putting up with carbon deposits on my pots. Finally, the burner became unusable; it literally burst into flame and sent up black smoke. This time I called the repair from the store where I bought it -- a well-known chain -- and they sent a technician who spent time investigating. Found the problem -- a connection to the propane line had come loose. Then, an additional problem occurred: the touch panel would start clicking when we used the left-hand front burners. It would flash on and off at 350 degrees, or 500 degrees, or some other setting but would NOT turn off. At worse, the entire stove -- both ovens -- would become inoperable. This second problem resulted in 3 trips by the repair people, who replaced the unit twice and then a third time with no change. However, the 3rd set of technicians think they have figured out whats going wrong -- and I have an appointment the day before Christmas, thank you very much. Right after they left, a third problem occurred: the left hand back burner next to the griddle keeps sending sparks; we have checked that one of the covers on the burners might be off center, but thats not the case. The result is that the only way we can stop the sparking is to keep the burner turned on low (so that we can use the other burners and the ovens) or to turn off the circuit breaker. I would like to hear from other people who have this range and find out whether this might be a common defect.

We purchased a new Kitchenaid refrigerator (dishwasher, stovetop and microwave) from Pacific Sales in Mission Viejo in July 2012. After three months, we noticed leaking from the refrigerator that ruined our hardwood floors and contaminated our kitchen with black mold! The technician repaired a cracked valve and we spent the next month living under construction to have our entire downstairs level repaired (new hardwood flooring, kitchen cabinets taken out and reconstructed, walls repaired and repainted). Flash forward two years, our freezer stopped working!! Kitchenaid referred us to Veterans Appliance in Garden Grove. They found a broken compressor and broken evaporator. After waiting three weeks for a repair, the repairman showed up with the wrong evaporator. We then needed to wait two months for this repair. Now our refrigerator is not producing cold air even though set at 34 degrees!!!! What proof does Kitchenaid need to REPLACE THIS DYSFUNCTIONAL REFRIGERATOR?!?!?! We have spent thousands of dollars and wasted excessive amounts of time dealing with Kitchenaid and their customer service. HORRIBLE!!!

The control panel has broken several times, the motor stopped working, the plastic utensil holders have melted and my dishwasher is not working again. I just had the panel replaced for close to $300 in February 2012 and the dishwasher does not turn on again! I also find that customer service is awful. I am waiting to hear a response from a representative but I wont sit by the computer. Another reason not to purchase a Kitchen Aid appliance is they use A&E Factory Service and they never show up. All of my other stainless steel appliances are over 10 years old and they are not rusting. The bottom line is KitchenAid is using a sub quality of stainless steel in all of their appliances. I called KitchenAid and they said there is not a warranty for finish on their appliances. How convenient is it for KitchenAid to reduce their cost of materials by using substandard stainless, then say there is no warranty on the finish? That is nothing but a ripoff by KitchenAid. I am very disappointed and frustrated with KitchenAid customer service. We purchased a $2,300 KitchenAid refrigerator on 6/21/13 and after 10 months of use, it started leaking and making really loud noises. Our freezer does not work. Our ice dispenser does not work. The water tastes bad. Water leaking on the floor has warped our wood floors and we have had to discard meat, ice cream and other frozen food. When we contacted KitchenAid about our defective refrigerator, we were told to make an appointment with Dan Marc.Dan Marc came out for the first time in May, 2014. I took off from work and waited for the repair technician. When he inspected the refrigerator, he said that it was the ice maker compartment. He advised that the ice maker wasnt sealing and warm air was getting in, but that KitchenAid had fixed the sealing issue. He advised that he would order the replacement parts and that it would take care of the problem.A week later, Dan Marc finally rescheduled for 6/9/14. My husband took the day off from work and at 7:30 a.m., Dan Marc cancelled the appointment. I contacted KitchenAid to advise of the customer care offered by Dan Marc, as we were unhappy with them cancelling on the morning of the appointment and the fact that I have an unusable refrigerator. I was advised by KitchenAid that we would have to wait on Dan Marc.On 6/10/14, a different repair technician came to the house and installed 3 replacement parts. He installed 2 replacement parts on the ice maker and 1 on the deli drawer. I took the day off from work and the repair technician took about 2 hours. He again said that the problem was fixed and that the replacement parts would take care of everything. He advised that there was a problem with the original parts, as they did not seal properly. Because it did not seal, warm air got into the ice maker, causing the leakage and host of issues. He advised that KitchenAid was aware of the problem and had taken care of the problem in the replacement parts. On 6/10/14 and 6/11/14, the refrigerator continued to leak water all over, and the freezer and ice dispenser continued to not work. I again contacted KitchenAid and was told that Dan Marc would have to come back out again to my house. As frustrated as I was, I again contacted Dan Marc and made an appointment for the next day. On 6/12/14, Dan Marc sent a specialist to my house. I again had to take off from work and waited for the technician. The technician told me that it is the compressor. He advised that he would have to flush out the system and install a new compressor and evaporator. He said that the job would take a minimum of 4 to 5 hours. He also advised that there would be no guarantee that it would work properly with a new compressor and evaporator, as oil and gases were sucked in. He also said that these refrigerators should last about 10 years and not 10 months. On 6/19/14, a specialist from Dan Marc came to my house and replaced the compressor and evaporator. I had to take the day off from work and he was there for 5 hours. So, the problems continue - Water leaks everywhere in the fridge. Water leaks from ice dispenser. Freezer does not freeze properly. We again contacted KitchenAid and now they are sending Morris County Appliance to my house. On 7/8/14, Morris County Appliance came to my house. They said that there is a seal system issue and that compressor overheats. They do not believe fridge can be fixed. On 7/10/14, KitchenAid is forcing us to allow Morris County Appliance to replace more parts. We are clearly frustrated and need a solution from KitchenAid. We do not want a defective refrigerator, as we clearly paid for a brand new, $2,300 refrigerator. We now have a refrigerator with replacement parts and cannot continue to add replacement parts to a clearly defective refrigerator. KitchenAid was clearly aware that the seals on the ice maker compartment were bad, as the replacement parts were modified and have different seals. Knowing that there was an issue with their product, KitchenAid sold me a defective refrigerator and is not willing to stand behind its product. The refrigerator has clearly failed to meet expectations and it is unacceptable for me to have to keep a defective product. The refrigerator has repeatedly failed to meet the standards of quality and performance. I have not been able to use my freezer, have any ice made or drink any water for almost a month and KitchenAid wants to add another Band Aid, by adding more replacement parts. It is unacceptable for me to keep taking off from work and to wait at home for countless hours, when the refrigerator was clearly defective when I purchased it. In addition, the water leaking from the refrigerator has warped our wood floors and Ive had to discard bags of food. I am clearly stuck with a lemon and KitchenAid refuses to replace their refrigerator.

My wife was having issues getting the upper rack on the Kitchenaid Model KD
My wife was having issues getting the upper rack on the Kitchenaid Model KDFE304SS0 dishwasher back into place. Problem was traced to the right hand upper rack trucks bearing retainer failing, releasing multiple bits of plastic and several small stainless bearings into the interior of the dishwasher. Closer inspection indicates that the manufacturer chose to use a nylon (PA6?) carrier which is degraded by moisture and heat eventually causing the carrier to break down. Why they chose that material when so much of the other components are POM which would have held up is beyond me. This will be a problem for others for sure if they use the heated dry. An additional worry is that not all bearings could not be recovered so there may be additional issues due to small metal bits traveling through the rest of the system. The unit was purchased from Sears July 17, 2015 so entirely too soon for such a failure. Clearly a poor choice in materials.

I am a very dissatisfied customer! I bought a KitchenAid Side-by-Side with Ice Dispenser Refrigerator (Model #KSRV22FVSS04) on 10/22/11 and have had to have 3 service calls within the warranty period (now about to end 1 year later) on the same problem with the ice dispenser. The dispenser chute mechanism is not strong enough to always close and will remain open and not properly dispense ice. When that happens, this allows warm air to get up into the auger mechanism and freeze it up completely, and water flows all over the floor. With the first service call, it was identified that we had been delivered an older model that had a design flaw in the chute mechanism that the company knew about, but didnt fix, and was also missing a part that had to be ordered and replaced in March 2012. We have maintained as per the manual, so any references to any manual maintenance are not applicable to this problem. However, on October 4, 2012, the same problem happened again, and I came home from work to find a leaking mess all over my kitchen floor again! I called their Customer Care for service, but they were unable to get someone right there for 2 days, and I had to take care of the mess to prevent damage to my kitchen walls and floor again! When the service person did come out today, they did not diagnose the problem correctly, and I still have this problem! To make matters worse, I immediately called KitchenAids Customer Care phone (now I understand why they are experiencing high call volumes) and again waited for 15 minutes, only to have to talk with a very rude Selicia who was unwilling to assist me in resolving my ongoing problem. When I asked to talk to her supervisor, Joetta came on the line and continued with the same rude, snobbish, refuse-to-assist-you attitude, almost calling me a liar; and when I requested for the service repair to come back out and fix the problem, she refused. She also refused to forward me to anyone else to enable me to resolve my customer complaint. For over 20 years, I had GE appliances, including a refrigerator with an ice dispenser, and never had any problems. This KitchenAid Refrigerator is my first and will be my last (and I will never buy another appliance that has the name, KitchenAid) because they sell inferior products that dont work as they are advertised, then they refuse to stand behind their products, and they do nothing to ensure good customer service and satisfaction. I will also be telling everyone I know about my horrible KitchenAid Experience and hopefully prevent others from falling victim to KitchenAids poor quality and service.

No luck.I have to show you how bad my glasses are, so bad my kids have stopped using them because they are dirty. A lot of it appears to be etching, some is a film that can be scraped off with a razor, but none will come off with a scrubber or soap. This build up is an endless cycle of more crap sticking to it with every wash! I hand wash glasses all the time and refuse to buy another set of new glasses only to ruin them.I must say other than the door hinge cords breaking I havent had the misfortune of ANY broken parts or broken controls (crossing fingers!). I use my dishwasher every day. I do have a tip on the door hinge. DO NOT pay a repair person to do it. The part is $15 and 15-30 minutes of your time. Also note that we installed generic parts and we ended up with the loudest creaky door you have ever heard. The fix was to put the OLD wheels on the new part, and it worked like a charm (apparently the new wheels are made from a different plastic!) My request from fellow consumers... What dishwasher will you replace yours with? I just want this to go away!!!

Bought a great looking KitchenAid oven last year, but it has an unusual malfunction of blowing hot air from the oven into the kitchen for extended periods of time while the oven is on, and most annoyingly, after the oven is turned off. It heats up the kitchen so much it is uncomfortable to be in there while cooking anything in the oven.Just now, we turned off the oven more than an hour ago, and incredibly, the fan in the oven suddenly turned on and for about five minute spewed more hot air into our kitchen. This is a major malfunction. Previously contacted KitchenAid, but the phone operator could not help and thought this was normal. This cannot possibly be normal. It probably heats up the kitchen by 10 to 15 degrees, which is a killer. DO NOT BUY THIS STOVE/OVEN.

I have a KitchenAid hood top microwave oven I paid almost $1,200.00 about 2 years ago. I just had a heating element replaced in March 2013. KitchenAid refused to help me and had to pay out of my pocket for repairs. It is 3 months later and the microwave heating element quit working. I called KitchenAid and they refused to help me. I now have to pay out of pocket expenses again to fix the same problem. I tried to reason with KitchenAid, but they refused to help a customer. You can tell there is something wrong with the unit if I need to keep replacing the same part. Its a very expensive microwave for $1,200.00. I thought KitchenAid was an honest company. I guess wrong. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again. Bad customer service.

We did a complete kitchen remodel and purchased the KitchenAid French Door refrigerator. It was installed in March 2018. First repair call was in October 2018. The ice machine stopped working. We contacted the company, a repairman came out and had to order a new part for the fridge (which took another 2 weeks for the order to ship and installation). Less than one month later, the ice machine broke again and the LED light on the shelf started blinking like a strobe light. Repairman called again, new parts had to be ordered again and another 2 week wait for the parts to come in and be installed. I wish I had never purchased this product. All of the other new appliances in our kitchen are GE Cafe. Buyers remorse; I wish I had bought the GE refrigerator instead of this poorly built KitchenAid “wanna be”.

My 1-year-old electric steam oven (KEBU107SSS03) blew the inner glass on self-clean mode. This was the first time I ever used the self-clean mode. I followed the instructions in the manual on self-clean in detail. The mode was set to regular and time given was 3 hrs 30 min. After 1 hr., I heard a loud explosion. The inner glass was shattered. I now await what KitchenAid will do.

On 8/12, I came home and loaded dishwasher (purchased 2/12), attempted to run. My wife said she didnt think it was operating correctly, so she tried it again. After a short time, she noticed it was off. I then went to check it out myself. I turned it on and at that time, I thought I heard water. I quickly turned it off and opened the dishwasher. It was dry. I closed the door and started to remove the trim panel and water started coming out. I then went downstairs (finished basement) and my ceiling was flooded and falling apart, carpet soaked and furniture wet. I was upset at first but thought, well, its just the basement, it wont affect us too much while repairs are being done. I called the insurance company and they sent out Water Mitigation Crew right away. They started to clean up in the basement and drying the floor joist. They then tested the kitchen floor and found that the water had seeped under the backer-board and they had to tear up half of our (less than 6 months old) kitchen floor/tile to dry it out properly. It had also worked its way into the living room area and cupped up some of my hardwood floor. So upon calling KitchenAid, they said they would send a certified tech out. He came out to see what went wrong and found the pump had came off at one of the factory clamp (crimp style). The tech called tech support, they said put a hose clamp on it. The tech did not feel comfortable with doing that, to be honest with you, neither does my wife and I since there are multiple crimp style clamps on the unit. The tech did not do the repair and recommended replacement. KitchenAid said they need a second opinion and that either way, they would not replace the unit and they need to install a hose clamp on it. Keep in mind, this appointment is now over 2 weeks away and my insurance company is not authorizing any repairs to my home until the defective dishwasher is replaced or repaired. Im just outside of Atlanta city limits and the best they can do is 2 weeks for service? I didnt mention the day this happened was the first day we brought home our newborn (really doesnt matter) but it adds to the stress level, and half of our kitchen is torn apart. Im not even going to get into how poor the customer service was over the phone with KitchenAid other than the fact nobody in that company can make a decision and you speak to someone different every time and they pass you around and you have to re-explain the situation. We are not sure what to do. We may remove the dishwasher and buy a different one (not comfortable with existing) so we can move forward with getting our home fixed. With what we paid for the deductible and what our insurance has authorized for the basement and new kitchen floor, we are at almost $11,000. The Water Mitigation Company is coming back out to check out the hardwood floors again and may have to replace that. We were not expecting an unscheduled remodel of our kitchen and possibly our living room floor. One of my biggest problems Im having is, when I ask customer support if a repair is done, what kind of peace of mind do we get knowing this wont happen again via house damaged/flooded, the answer I keep getting is, as long as its within 30 days, we will come out for no charge and fix the dishwasher. It seems to me they couldnt care less our home is damaged. I would imagine now that I have a water damage claim with insurance, I will have to disclose this when we try to sell the home some day. My insurance could go up. We are so upset/angry/dissatisfied. Words cannot describe. I have asked more than once to speak to someone above a supervisor in the company and I was told that person doesnt talk to customers. I want my house fixed back to the way it was and I really dont feel I should be responsible for the deductible and I dont think its fair to my insurance company either. Im very frustrated and dont know what to do.

After six years, our microwave stopped working. A service repairman said he could fix it for $375, something to do with the panel door message. I figured I could go without the microwave for a while. Then after cleaning the oven, the glass shattered in the microwave. Heat must have risen and too hot. The oven still works, but the glass is still getting into the oven and on the floor. Of course, this model is discontinued. Im looking at GE as a replacement. Too bad as everything else in our kitchen is KitchenAid. I would not recommend anyone doing their kitchen with this company.

Well for the send time our expensive KitchenAid Built-in Side by Side Refrigerator Freezer Failed. It is almost 10 years old. The refrigerator repairmen from Judd and Black Electric arrived about 12:00 and fussed around with our fridge for an hour. In my opinion they didnt have a clue really and ** thought they were rude. At the end of the process they said the main control module was out, KitchenAid didnt make the part, it wasnt available anymore and they couldnt fix the KitchenAid KSSC48QMS01 side by side built in refrigerator. Period. They said that Core Centric could rebuild the control board but they didnt offer to take it out or send it in to Core Centric. The entire afternoon I researched the issue and learned that there are several companies that will rebuild the control board for about $100, found a YouTube Video on how to remove it and learned the serial number (W10219463-119) of the offending part. I will NEVER buy a KichenAid product again.

I have a KitchenAid range. It is gas with electric oven. If you lean over it when cleaning you will turn on something. It goes off if you get to close to circuit board. If breaker is set off the whole panel where you set everything will shut down as if stove is broken. Sometimes after breaker is reset it still will shut down. After you do that three or four times it will come back on. I am always afraid the panel is out and that is a major cost. This is a problem somewhere in that control panel. Hopefully someone will find it since this is a 3500.00 range.

Model # KSRD25F Door Bin Holder: Today, I contacted KitchenAid in regards to my refrigerator door cracking from the bin holder and around the outside of the door. This is the part that is made to hold gallons of milk and jars that are glass. I spoke to **, the supervisor, after I was told that the bins are covered for lifetime, but the holder that they sit in would not be covered. I read the label on the inside of the door and I quote, KitchenAid is dedicated to providing quality engineered appliances that offer lasting value.” But thats just the beginning. “Our lifetime warranty on door bins is synonymous with long-lasting, worry free performance. This is what is right inside the door where you place the bins. I was told that I could purchase a new door by Ms. **. I asked how much the door would be as this could cause one of our children to get hurt. She came back to say the door is no longer available to purchase and that my only option at this point would be to purchase a new refrigerator. My refrigerator, at this point, is not long lasting and not giving me that worry free performance that they apply to the door. The bins were supposed to be designed to hold a gallon of milk, jars and two liter bottles. They lifetime warranty the bins that you put the items in, but not the holder that holds them in your refrigerator. If these fall from the refrigerator, they have the potential to severely injure the person retrieving the items from this refrigerator.

We remodeled our Kitchen and we bought a new oven, microwave, dishwasher, warmer all KitchenAid appliances. First time we heated up the oven to 350 degrees, it heated up to over 500 degree and burnt the bottom of the oven. The temperature settings are very off and wrong, everything we cook we have to use set it very low to get it to cook properly. Dishwasher does not clean correctly and it was leaking, they did come in and adjust it. It kind of works now. The Microwave has been repaired twice in the first year, and this model cost $1000. The warmer works fine.I will never buy anything KitchenAid ever again. We have had nothing but 3 years of issues, and the customer service repair guy did not have a clue on how to fix any of these appliances so he just keeps ordering parts and wasting our time for this $1000 microwave. Really disappointed in KitchenAid. They are the worst and most terrible customer service team. They never offered to replace any of the appliances and when we unpacked the microwave it had a ding in the front of it.

Bought this high end dishwasher in January. Immediate problems where washer stopped mid-cycle. Over six months had repairman out constantly. The fix never lasted a week. Couldnt get a replacement washer until June after a zillion repair visits. The replacement washer which was the same model worked 4 mos. now again having same problem. Repairman usually cant come for 10 days and then sometimes a part must be ordered and another visit made. In between time, we have no dishwasher. This is fraudulent and for customer a whole year of misery. The dishwasher model is first in the series. Obviously a lemon and should simply be replaced quickly with a different model. Super surprised a large company does not have a better service/replacement policy. It is unethical. The product does not work.

I was not using the meat probe, and have never used the meat probe thermometer. I cannot get the message to clear and cannot use my oven. My oven purchased ONLY THREE years ago!!! Will never buy another Kitchenaid anything! We thought we did our research – this oven received good marks from Consumer Reports. In addition while reading the manual that came with the oven shortly after purchase, it warned against using the self-cleaning feature. What?? Kitchenaid includes a feature and Im sure we paid extra for it – that can cause the glass in oven to shatter. And then warns you in their own manual against using it! I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (side-by-side with Ice Maker) from Lowes that was recommended by our builder for our dream house! I was so excited that I was going to have KitchenAid appliances, thinking that I would have something that was really going to last and be beautiful at the same time. Ha! In less than 5 months after we bought it, it was coated with ice in the freezer bottom and leaking water all over the floor. The repairman came out and said that a lot of times they are shipped with gunk in the lines. Stupid us, we actually believed him and thought all was going to be fine now. Now, less than 8 months later, it has been leaking water all over my kitchen floor again and it took us a while to get someone out. We are now told on a refrigerator that is not even 3 years old, that it has a defect, was made that way and that KitchenAid knows it and doesnt have a fix for it. Something to do with a valve that is too small and the heater and the line. He would defrost it for us for a charge of $220.00. Plus he informed us that this refrigerator that I (not a we in this case) paid $2,000 for will only last at most about 8 years and that the next thing to go out will be the compressor at a cost of $800.00 or more to replace, not including the service call. So I have this beautiful to look at refrigerator sitting in my kitchen that has the bottom drawer open, it is turned off at the breaker... Oh yes, that is what he recommended and we are hoping that after the past 24 hours, there is no more water in the lines that will freeze up immediately and the leaking will begin again, only sooner. I refuse to be taken advantage of on this. I think a BIG Class Action Lawsuit is in order. I have never thought of suing someone before, but now, I am not so sure.

The unit is 2 years old. The Control panel was always hot. The repairman said that was normal. It was so hot that the cupboard Above the unit was being heated. Eventually the control panel blew. The entire unit had to be replaced. Next everything was burning. The repairman came & told us, You didnt calibrate the oven!!! They calibrated it and then told me that the setting will not hold. we will have to continually monitor the temperature in the oven.I baked two pans of oatmeal bars for my grandsons football team. One pan burned, the other did not. When I called about this I was told, You should have used the convection function. In other words it was my fault. I just threw out 4 loaves of German stollen because 4 were burned on the outside and uncooked on the inside. The remaining 2 loaves are fine. This oven will bankrupt us if we keep bringing in repair men. My question is this, Any suggestions for replacing this unit? We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store
We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store gave us a 5 yr warranty which we used on 5 different occasions. Long story shortened greatly... 2 yrs in we had water leaking on the floor which was warping the newly done wood! Ahh! We couldnt figure out what was going on b/c it both seemed to be running/leaking as well as there was water freezing up in the back of the freezer, until it created a frozen pool in the bottom and started to leak out the front. So I turned off the water supply (stinks to have this huge fancy fridge and NO ice or cold water!) But that didnt seem to stop the prob. First they said it required the duck bill to help w/ draining the water inside the fridge which wasnt covered under the warranty- even though KA had HUNDREDS of calls on this issue at that point in 2012. Then later we found that we were experiencing 2 separate problems. We needed a faulty valve which was covered and the repair company was nice and thorough in fixing the duck bill for free. The valve we were told might have been b/c the water was freezing inside the ice cube maker in the fridge (our ice is not indoor but in bottom freezer on left side). He showed me how the water was frozen inside the hard plastic tubing. NOTE that we DID defrost it and that sorry to say didnt help. ALSO BE AWARE that for us these issues seemed to coincide via coincidence or not.. We are unsure... But seemed to occur when either someone left the freezer opened for a prolonged time.. OR we went out of town for over a week and the freezer remained unopened. Unfortunately, we have never gotten an answer on that one.. BUT we just came back from a 1 month trip overseas and bam! The prob was back! Grrrr.. Anyway... So that repair of the duck bill and double valve seemed to work for 3 yrs.. b/c now we are in 2015 and experiencing very similar issues again. I called our old repair guys again and they told me that KA has changed out the duck bill for a new piece called the goose neck/P-trap drain tube. We just ran out of the warranty of course last month.. So to fix this would be $110 labor, $80 service fee + part $25. I found this website that shows how to put it in yourself. I dont even cut my own grass or nail something in the wall myself.. BUT this looks so easy I will do it myself! See link to Repair Clinic! Not sure it will show up here but google it! Has a video. Im going to give it a try. ** Also check out the threads on this forum **. ALSO lastly.. Sorry.. Wanted to let you know that one of the other calls we have had to make on this which was NOT at difficult to figure out but would have been pretty costly had we not had the warranty was the condenser went out 4 yr after we bought it 2014. The thing just started not to cool anymore! But the guys figured it out pretty quickly and got the new part in straight away. OHH And lastly... Really it is.. Haha. The stainless doors are the WORST of ALL of our stainless appliances to clean. and EVEN are getting tiny rust spots which is crazy as our fridge isnt anywhere near the sink/stove. Anyway... SO FOR CLEANING them.. I have tried several different products and the one that has by far done the best at cleaning and keeping spots away is Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish. I agree w/ ALL that has been said re: this machine.. Looks great.. But a total lemon! I will NEVER spend $2300 on a fridge again. I figured it was my once in a lifetime. Im grown up and get the kitchen I want & have it last a long time.. Im a teacher... So the cash is not flowing like the water on my floor. But I will never buy something like this again. Sadly too much $$, hassle, and time.

I have tried to be patient, but a week after an oven fire, that had it happened when we were gone, would have started a kitchen/house fire. As it is I had to call the fire department because I could not turn off the oven. A malfunction allowed the igniter to heat and by the time I woke up (4 am), the house was filled with acrid smoke smell. I went out and thought I had finally canceled the igniter (the cancel button seemed to turn things off after several attempts). Then my husband woke up and wondered what was going on and why, after 1/2 hour the smell was still very strong. Come to find out when I went back in that the igniter was still on and the cover plate over the heating element was bright red with flames shooting out of the sides (of the plate). It was self-contained in the oven, but so hot that when the fire fighters came, they couldnt touch it. They had to turn off the gas and unplug the cord.As I said, its been a week and there has been no call back after the initial phone call to send out a technician (The technician was great and found where there was a short on the board). What is most sobering to me is that my husband is disabled. Had the oven fire started on a day when I was gone volunteering, he could have been trapped by a house fire. I explained this and still no response. I would highly recommend not buying anything from KitchenAid/Whirlpool until they have a better service record.

They failed on the same day?? This is a top of their line unit. (Not cheap). They came out and gave me an estimate of $600 for new digital readout unit. I am at 6 weeks and counting without the fridge and no one can give me a date!Original Review: Appliance was 4 months off first year warranty when compressor failed causing electric control panel to need replacing. Although compressor is covered in second year I was charged for the service call and new control panel (over $600). This was a $2400 bar fridge. I expected better quality and service after purchasing $20,000 in KitchenAid appliances. Not sure this will ever be my brand in the future.

I purchased my second KitchenAid in 2005 since we were renovating our kitch
I purchased my second KitchenAid in 2005 since we were renovating our kitchen and wanted the counter depth model. I already had a KitchenAid that I was happy with, though it was only 2 years old. Within 18 months, the ice maker stopped working in the new one. We didnt replace it right away and we just used the ice from our other one, which was now in our basement as a second refrigerator. We finally had a new ice maker installed in July 2009 at a cost of $200, parts plus labor. Again, 18 months later (with a 1 year warranty), the ice maker stopped working. We went 2 more years without fixing it but finally did on February 27, 2013 at a cost of $242 when we needed it for a large family gathering. It broke again last week, June 20, 2014. 1 year and not even 4 months from the install date. It was suggested by the repair company that there may be a recall and I should call KitchenAid myself. After speaking to a customer service rep and then her supervisor, I was told they only warranty it for a year. Period. I explained that there was obviously a defect in my refrigerator, but that didnt seem to matter. They would have a service person come out for the usual fee. Meanwhile, my 11 year old other KitchenAid has started freezing food - but guess what? At least the ice maker works!! So unless you want to buy two of them to work as they should, I would buy another brand.

A really poor finish, the high level of engine noise is noticeable in the day!! And a bad customer service. On May 27, 2016 at Home Depot I bought a KitchenAid Refrigerator which at the time of the delivery was damage by the people who delivery it. I kept the refrigerator for a few days until the next delivery. The new equipment started making unusual noise. We contacted KitchenAid again who sent a technician who did not find any problem according to him The sound is normal. Another technician was contacted since the freezer started making ice on one side not the other. He came to fix the issue, but resulted in burning the appliance for which we have evidenced of in pictures. According to him, the problem was fixed but a bigger damage was created on the lateral side of the fridge. The problem was reported to KitchenAid, who told me that another technician would be sent from another company. The last technician came, saw the unit and said that the problem could be resolved with an add on kit based on what KitchenAid told him because those units had several recalls and complaints for the same issue. The technician came with the accessory and this kit is not for this unit 2016. The kit is a fan that is located in the ice maker which is located at the top, not in the freezer where is the biggest problem, and the tech found more problems, filtration and dripping water in the drawers of vegetables. That waste of time and lack of knowledge and effectiveness by the representative of KitchenAid. I want a new unit or my full monetary refund. Ive had the unit only for three months and it is unacceptable. I have pictures of how I received the unit and the damages made by the technicians. I have contacted on several occasions 4 time technical visits and still have the same problem. I still waiting for any answer.

Appliances purchased by Mr. Kim **:
Appliances purchased by Mr. Kim **: Appliance Model No., Serial No., Cost Purchase Date, and Purchase Location Stainless Fridge KFIS20XVMS8 K13211668 $3039.07 9/20/11 Lowes (Saugus, MA) Stainless Range KDSS907SSS04 D11549850 $1889.95 11/12/11 Tri-City Sales (Salem, MA) Stainless Dishwasher KVDS301XSS4 F13511903 $809.95 11/12/11 Tri-City Sales (Salem, MA)Stainless Microwave KHMS2040W $584.32 12/18/11 Tri-City Sales (Salem, MA)I have been retained by Mr. Kim ** to retain him regarding his claims against KitchenAid relative to the above-referenced appliance purchases. Following Mr. **’s purchases of these appliances, all stainless steel Whirlpool branded appliances, rust quickly formed on the stainless steel facades. Mr. ** first reported the rust-damage to Tri-City Sales (262 Highland Avenue, Salem MA 01970) in July 2012. Tri-City arranged for L.A.R. Appliance Service (103 Albion Street, Wakefield, MA) to visit on 01/08/12 and inspect the appliances. (Apparently L.A.R. is subcontracted by Whirlpool to do local service visits.) The L.A.R. service technician told Mr. ** and his wife that he would order a complimentary replacement door for the range. However, upon noticing that multiple appliance doors had rust damage and were in need of replacement, the technician telephoned his office for advice, and was in turn referred by telephone to Whirlpool’s corporate representative who instructed him to refuse repair/replacement of Mr. **’s rusted new appliances. The L.A.R. tech informed Mr. ** that Whirlpool instructed that because the damage was cosmetic, it would be denied warranty coverage. He thereafter gave Mr. ** Whirlpool’s customer service telephone number, 800-422-1230. Mr. ** called the number immediately. After an extended wait, an incoming telephone call handler answered. Mr. ** explained that he had purchased these appliances to furnish a new kitchen and had simultaneously purchased a washer and dryer also manufactured by Whirlpool, which had a white rather than stainless finish and had sustained no such similar damage. Mr. ** stated that apart from the function of the appliance, the stainless finish was an aesthetic part of the design and therefore an integral part of the product which had failed by rusting. Mr. ** received in return a long winded reply amounting to a nominal apology, thanks for the feedback, and a statement that the rust damage is not Whirlpool’s problem and that all warranty coverage of this issue would be denied and Whirlpool would do nothing to cure Mr. **’s dissatisfaction.Mr. ** asked to speak with a supervisor, and was eventually transferred to one. The supervisor suggested a special “cleaner” that replaced “the lost oil” (to which he apparently by analysis over the telephone attributed the rust damage) and stated that provision of this cleaner is all Whirlpool is willing to do to address Mr. **’s concern about his new rusted appliances. Mr. ** explained that if oil had indeed been lost, and so rust damage was commenced, then the products were defective. Mr. ** rejected the customer service supervisor’s offer of a bottle of cleaner to repair his $6,000+ worth of rusted appliances, repeated his points of concern, and made a plea of his loyalty to the Whirlpool brand and requested that the company’s customer service team answer his concerns, and resolve this matter amicably. The supervisor again rejected his pleas but this time curiously modified the rejection with “at this point.”It is not clear what point Mr. ** has to get to in order for Whirlpool and/or KitchenAid to agree that it is not reasonable to expect customers to endure a home full of rusted appliances approximately half a year after new purchase. However, at this point, Mr. ** is disappointed that the warranty for these items has been repudiated and that KitchenAid/Whirlpool refuse to stand behind their products. While Mr. ** and his family were willing at the time of the service visit and telephone calls to accept replacement of the doors to these appliances (perhaps with a facade other than Whirlpool’s stainless steel), due to the stonewalling the company has subjected him to, he has retained me to defend his rights in this matter.Mr. ** did not receive any clear and conspicuous warning prior to purchase of these expensive appliances of an obvious substantial risk of rust damage to Stainless Whirlpool appliances. Nor are any such warnings included in advertisements for Whirlpool Stainless steel appliances. Were any such warnings made clear to Mr. **, he would not have made these expensive purchases. Accordingly, KitchenAid/Whirlpool’s policy regarding the concealment of the significant risk of rust damage (of which service technicians and customer service representatives have clearly been aware) constitutes a deceptive trade practice. In KitchenAid/Whirlpool’s failure to honor it’s warranty or to reasonably address Mr. **’s concerns, the company has committed breaches of warranty, the federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act, the Uniform Commercial Code, Massachusetts’ lemon law, and unfair business practices and other consumer protection laws. Accordingly, Mr. ** demands that his appliances be repurchased. Besides being sent directly to you, this letter is being submitted to the Better Business Bureau and to other Consumer Protection sites. Additionally, if swift action is not taken to repurchase these appliances, Mr. ** has instructed me to take all action necessary to enforce his rights including without limitation the filing of a lawsuit. Should this action become necessary, I will seek on Mr. **’s behalf all rights and remedy’s afforded to him by the law, including the payment of attorney’s fees and civil penalties for willful violation of consumer protection laws as may be appropriate. We hope for a swift resolution of this matter without the need to enforce the law and ask for a response to this claim within the next fifteen (15) days.

Update - In my November 5 complaint, I reported ice freezing on the floor o
Update - In my November 5 complaint, I reported ice freezing on the floor of my KitchenAid freezer followed by water on the floor in front of the freezer after the freezer floor depression filled up. In another customer review with the same problem, the culprit turned out to be a duck-billed grommet and it was the same solution to my problem. What mystified me about my problem was that I could find no drain in the bottom of my unit that would have the duck-billed grommet attached to it that was prone to freeze up and stop the draining. It turns out the culprit is not in the bottom of the freezer, but several inches up and behind the back panel of the freezer. Our responding technician was very well versed regarding our problem and had the fridge fixed in about a half hour. This was no job for a reasonably competent homeowner to take on as it required a lot of dismantling, ice-chipping and hot water to fix before a new, improved grommet could be installed, which by itself took about 30 seconds to install from around behind the refrigerator. It seems that maybe more than a few of my model refrigerators were shipped with a defective grommet that has since been upgraded, so maybe complaints such as mine will become a thing of the past. At any rate, our fridge seems to be humming along just fine now. Thank you, KitchenAid telephone person, for setting up a service call that seems to have solved our problem.

So the electronic panel on the front went out yesterday and the unit totally shut down. Repairman came out and guess what... THEY DONT MAKE THE PART ANYMORE! REALLY. How can you not continue to make a major part for an appliance that you made and sold only 6 years ago. So now it is totally useless. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID APPLIANCES! I hope this company goes the way of Sears.

I have a $2850 piece of fruit in my kitchen that is less than one year old.
I have a $2850 piece of fruit in my kitchen that is less than one year old. Its a lemon made by KitchenAid. I purchased the refrigerator KFIS29BBMS00 in brand new condition from a Texas appliance retailer in North Richland Hills in September of 2012. All was well until six months later, in March of 2013, the refrigerator stopped keeping the non-freezer items cool and ice was forming around the ice maker in the upper refrigerator, and also inside the door of the freezer. They, KitchenAid, dispatched an appliance technician for diagnostics. Lets start the count off for personal days of vacation stolen by these guys. (1 day) Evaporator fan ordered, and installed 10 days later mid April. (2 days) Load noise and additional ice build up 1 week later, service call scheduled. Same repair guy, different day. Parts ordered to replace faulty fan. (3 days) Two weeks later, installed firmware upgraded circuit board. (4 days vacation) In late June, the ice maker stopped working, service scheduled mid July with new service company and technician. (5 days vacation) Of course, parts ordered again... This time, the technician had them shipped to my house.About 12 days later, we received a parts shipment. We called KitchenAid when we received the parts package, asking when the service company was supposed to be back. They contacted them and they were out the next day. (6 days of vacation) Unfortunately, there were two additional parts being shipped and the repair could not be completed. Should not someone have known this dependency when we called? Fast forward an additional two weeks, now we are in early August and we called the service company again since all the parts are in. They cant come out until Sept 3, and in the meantime the refrigerator is making a very loud annoying noise. So, we called KitchenAid to report it and let them know we could not have the appliance serviced with the previous work order since the service provider stated they were only authorized to repair the ice maker. KitchenAid dispatched a third appliance repair company, who was scheduled by KitchenAid for 8/26, then no call no show. They said they did not receive a work order from KitchenAid, but assured me they could make it tomorrow, 8/26. (7 days vacation lost) The third repair company came out today, 8/27, and said they cant repair the refrigerator until the other company completes their work order. (8 days of vacation) Remember now, I still have another appointment scheduled for 9/3/2013, so count on another vacation day, totaling 9 for now and counting.
