I have two pairs of the dishwasher drawers with custom wood panels and one pair started to make loud whirring noises and then would beep incessantly, resulting in us turning off the breaker switch to get it to stop. Then, the bottom drawer stopped draining and held water in the tub all the time. The repair man quoted me over $900.00 for the repair. He suggested that I not repair it, and I agreed with him. Now, my second pair is making loud noises and I am afraid it is on its way to death as well. I am so disappointed in these dishwashers. I am going to start a Facebook group to see how may others have defective dish drawers.

KFIS27CXWH2 - We purchased this French door style/bottom freezer style from ABT Electronics in July 2011. Within two years we had leaking under freezer under our wooden floors. We called one serviceman who couldnt detect the issue. Called ABT and they were out approximately 12 times to finally resolve the issue by installing a heater unit in ice maker which happens to be located in the upper left side of the ceiling inside refrigerator. Never again will I purchase a unit with an ice maker in unit vs. freezer. Just after a year and parts warranty expiration - it began leaking again and thankfully I was home to avoid a real disaster and could turn off water. Yet another serviceman was out 2 days again who left stating he couldnt find anything wrong with ice maker. As of today water is not running into ice maker although we do have water in the dispenser on outside door of unit. Has anyone else had this model who has experienced the same issue? Every time I decide to replace the unit - I want to try one more time to remedy this problem.

Horrible French door fridge model KBFS20EVMS. We have had many problems since we bought this less than six years ago. The refrigerator portion is set on 44 and still freezes the food. The icemaker stopped working. The fridge leaks. Ive had that cosmetic rust issue on the exterior. The seals are shot and I cleaned mold/mildew from the rubber seals. Avoid KitchenAid products.

Twice, the microwave glass door on my Kitchenaid electric high speed microwave/convection oven unit has shattered into a million pieces when I have used self clean on the oven below. What is the value of a self cleaning oven if you cant use the self cleaning part? In addition, the spring on the oven door broke for no reason. This combination oven/microwave is a lemon!

I am Kosher and when I redid my kitchen put in 2 identical KitchenAid dishwashers... They both stopped functionally fully after only a year. The same issue, only a short wash. How ironic... You can not tell me that isnt an issue with the model. KitchenAid said not my Problem. Have to pay for a service call. They didnt even have technical support... for DYIs. I would never buy a KichenAid anything again.

I loved the way this fridge keeps produce fresh. However, several months after the warranty expired the ice maker quit working. Service man (recommended by appliance store) replaced it but did not fix the problem. They then replaced the compressor, evaporator, and valves. Quit working again. Now they say that it is a sensor (or a board) and needs to be ordered but will take 1-2 weeks. Ive lost two full freezers loads full of frozen food because the freezer temperature wont go below 30 degrees. Repair man stated that this model has 6 boards that can go wrong and often do. Today, ice maker is not producing ice again! Have another call into serviceman. This is the most expensive ($3,700) and the most problematic refrigerator that Ive ever owned. Am looking for a new refrigerator and am sure that it will NOT be a Kitchenaid.

I purchased a second Kitchenaid microwave KMCS1016GSSo after my first one lasted about 11 years. My custom cabinets were built to fit this microwave and trim kit. I purchased the extended warranty coverage although this model received poor ratings. But it fit perfectly into my cabinets. I specifically asked 2 years ago when purchasing the second unit if anything goes out on microwave would I receive a replacement. I was told “yes, we’ll replace the microwave since we don’t repair countertop models.”About 2 weeks ago the lcd display digits started to burn out. I checked online and found this same model is still being produced. I called Whirlpool who’s the parent company to discuss my options since I had 2 more years on extended warranty. After escalation to 3 levels of supervisors I was told they would only send me the depreciated amount of the microwave. The terms state replace or give cash settlement. But I was told at this time they are not replacing the microwaves. This is very upsetting and breach of what I was told when I purchased the extended warranty because this model fits my cabinet and trim kit.

Purchased this unit in 2010 with an extended warranty. The unit died in 2012 and was able to get it replaced because of the extended warranty. However an extended warranty was not offered to me on the replacement. The replacement was installed in November 2012 and failed to heat anything in 2015, approximately 2 1/2 years old. I called KitchenAid and spoke with their representative in Tennessee, I explained that this was the second microwave that failed in a two year timeframe. The lady was not very helpful. All she wanted to do was sell me a warranty or I could pay to have a technician come out and look at it. She advised me complaints on defective manufacturing are based on Service Technician calls since they did not have any for this Model then there is nothing wrong with it. I asked her why would 2 of the same units fail during the same time frame and KitchenAid would not recognize that something is wrong with the unit. I told her I could buy a microwave for less than $100.00 and it would last longer than this model. She told me I should have bought an extended warranty. Apparently I am to blame because I did not get an extended warranty from them for $329.00. At this point she stopped listening to my questions and proceeded in a very loud voice which can be heard clearly from 3 feet away that KitchenAid stands behind their product and there is nothing wrong with that Model microwave because there have not been any complaints. I told her to search the internet. If KitchenAid sold quality products and stand behind their products why would there be a need for an extended warranty. Very, very poor customer service. Therefore if you buy a KitchenAid appliance buy a very long extended warranty because their items are not cheap and the warranty is not cheap also.

KitchenAid? More like KitchenFRAYED. Yesterday morning as we performed our regular cleaning on our KitchenAid fridge, a food takeout bag inside (not plastic) began to smoke. After several minutes of searching the house, looking for the fire, we checked inside the smoke infused fridge, noticing a charred bag as a result of the clearly DANGEROUS light bulb inside. What was a charred bag of smoke and ashes QUICKLY BURST INTO FLAMES!!! We had to call KitchenAid the following day (today) as they clearly do NOT take safety as a priority and have their phone lines open on Sundays and were immediately told it was our fault, not theirs, and completely BLAMED FOR the high-risk situation their fridge caused. Had we left the house or left the bag to smolder unknowingly, our whole HOUSE could have caught fire!!!There is pets and CHILDREN in this household but we were just informed it was our fault for leaving our barbeque takeout bag in the fridge it was required to be in. Horrible customer service, RUDE, unwilling to take responsibility and even wanted us to PAY to have it looked at after we couldve suffered the loss of our house, pets and family members inside. TRULY unbelievable and disgusted by KitchenAid. This fridge has had its issues from DAY ONE. We had to get a replacement immediately as it began to rust on its exterior within its first week in our house.Soon, bins began to crumble, plastic shards filling the interior as we suffered to obtain replacements. Of course, they were highly reluctant to send replacements and sent the bare minimum. HAZARDOUS, RUDE and IRRESPONSIBLE most definitely sum up the company as a whole. Do not recommend, especially if you wish to live your maximum lifespan and preserve your family, pets and friends.

DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID PRODUCTS. They look nice in the store, but are actually poorly built and worse, performance is awful. I have dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator and all 3 have deteriorated in quality after just a year of use. Their customer service is the absolute worst. Ive seen other comments on this site and they are accurate. Customer service will not help in any way. Their only answer is Im sorry. Our refrigerator has a documented design flaw and they refuse to replace it. Their solution is to have someone come to our house and completely strip the inside out so we are left with a metal box. Then, the person is going to build one out of all new parts. I will have a frankenstein that will not be inspected by anyone, no quality control, and no idea if its being done properly. The model is KFIS29BBMS00 -- but dont worry, because of the known design flaw they dont make it anymore. Kitchenaid is horrible and their customer service is worse. Buy ANYTHING else.

We purchased a KitchenAid Superba Architect Series double oven (model # KEBC208KSS02) in 2003 for our new-built home. After using the self-cleaning oven, the display of the oven went completely out and the oven doors were locked. We had the oven repaired (we had to replace the motherboard which was over $800 once the repairs were completed) and 3 months later we had the mother board go out again. We were then told the board was only under warranty for 90 days (we were just out of warranty on the board) and that we would have to purchase another board. This is absolutely unacceptable.I have read so many forums and complaints online about this same problem and am disgusted that KitchenAid has not done anything about this. When we phoned KitchenAid about this problem to file a complaint, they would not do anything about it.

Kitchenaid Oven Model # KEBC177K5503: This was the second time it quit working after using the self-clean feature. We paid to have it fixed the first time but called KitchenAid the second time. After seeing all the other complaints, we thought they would at least send out a DIY kit to replace thermo piece that keeps the oven from working. They would only charge me for a service call and then any necessary parts. Their reasoning is that they wont fix something that hasnt been recalled but who has the authority to recall the defective ovens? KitchenAid! I will never, ever purchase any KitchenAid product again! And I will spread the word every chance I get. When I see how many complaints there are out there for this product and KitchenAid is laughing all the way to the bank, it makes me angry.

Called about cracks on inside of door. Two horizontal cracks the largest about 10 long. They told me needed to have a service rep come out. Cost 99.99. I find out this is a common problem with KitchenAid refrigerators and is not covered by any warranty even an extended warranty would have expired in my case (6yrs). The repair is tape and screws or door replacement. This is obviously poor manufacturing that KitchenAid refuses to acknowledge. Shame on them.

11 months into the purchase of our KitchenAid French Door Bottom Freezer, water started leaking onto our NEW hardwood floor, from the bottom of the freezer. Because of how new this was and no VISIBLE problem, we assumed it was an ice cube that dropped out, or something from the filtered water spout on the fridge. At 12 months, we investigated further and noticed the ice build up on the bottom of the freezer. The water was coming from here. The warranty on this had expired, of course. But, who could imagine that a pricey refrigerator such as this would only last 1 year? We got this repaired at our expense thru a certified dealer, so any other warranty would still be valid.Well after keeping careful watch on the bottom of the freezer, and scraping ice when we could, we have the very same problem again, a little more than 1 year later. Thick ice now, and of course water coming from the bottom. It seems this problem is systemic to the design of this product. This is not satisfactory to the consumer!!!

KitchenAid needs to do a recall on this dishwasher. We have required repair to the top rack tracks on the left and right sides! The circular piece on the track that pops into the dishwasher rack keeps breaking. I am now going online to find replacement parts to (temporarily!!!) fix it myself. When I asked the repairmen who covers KitchenAid warrantees about the rack, he said he had not seen problems so I showed him the hundreds of comments and reviews from people who hate this dishwasher for this very reason. KitchenAid does not care and they can forget this customer forever.

Had dishwasher KUDS30IXSS a little over a year and two small plastic parts on the upper glider both broke after just moderate use. Outside of warranty by a few months and Whirlpool (Kitchenaid) sent their own repairman who said the two parts were $48. Took 10 minutes to replace them and then charged $130 for labor and an additional $85 for the service call. I have never, ever had a service where they charge labor and service charge. Its one or the other (Also, $130 for 10 minutes of labor?). Complained and repairman said its company policy and should take it up with Whirlpool which we are. We recently had our Kitchenaid side by side built-in go out as well, luckily under warranty. Their products and service have gone steadily downhill year after year. We were loyal customers at one time but no longer. Check all the reviews out there on any appliances you are considering before you buy another Kitchenaid.

I have had this stove for 5 years. It is stainless steel but the top griddle area has all rusted! Also, when I used the self clean program it fried the entire control panel which was expensive to replace even under warranty as they did not cover the service charge and it took 2 months to receive the part. I had a repeat of this problem again, so the panel needed to be replaced. I now have to steam clean my oven which does not work effectively! Also, measuring the oven temperature is NEVER close to the temperature on the display panel. I would never buy another KitchenAid stove again. The fan is very loud as well. I thought I was buying a quality product when I purchased my side by side KSF26C7XYY00 refrigerator. The refrigerator I had was very old and not cooling. Since I was renovating my kitchen, what better than to purchase a quality product like KitchenAid... Unfortunately that was not the case! After six months to the day, the freezer stopped working. I had to throw everything away the day before Christmas. Knowing no one would be taking calls on Christmas I waited a couple of days. In the meantime, the refrigerator side stopped cooling as well. I called the KitchenAid customer service line to go through the proper procedures and protocol for the warranty. The service guy came out on Dec. 28 and told me he did not know how to fix it and he would order the parts. Several days pass. I had to call them to find out where the parts were only find that they had no idea. There was a new tracking system and they could not track the parts in transit. After a week and a half and after speaking with one of KitchenAids corporate reps and some emails to the Brand Experience Senior Manager they finally agreed to replace the refrigerator. You would think this would be a good thing however they had to order it and it would take 7-10 days. After calling the delivery company I found that they had had the refrigerator and no information on who it belonged to, yet no one investigated this. I received the new replacement refrigerator on Jan. 20. Now, you would think that the saga would be over, but no. After nearly ONE MONTH without a refrigerator, the new refrigerator does not work! The freezer is not freezing and the refrigerator side is only slightly cool compared to the 37 degrees that it is supposed to be according to the manual. I called KitchenAid only to have the customer service person tell me I needed to make an appointment for a service call. At this point I am beyond frustrated and I would like to get my money back so I can buy something that works. I cant afford to replace food or eat out daily. I will NEVER buy KitchenAid or any of their affiliates again and will advise everyone I know and work with (the 9th largest school district in the US) of the same.

The repair guy came here, quoted $109 to come in, $200 for the motor, and $150 for labor, saying the motor is not under warranty. I paid him and threw him out of the house. Easiest $109 he ever made for the 3 minutes he was here. I called KitchenAid and asked why the motor was not covered. They told me only the computer and the racks themselves are covered. We were both commuting long distances to work, trying to get moved in after putting our stuff in storage to have all the floors redone, have otherwise busy lives, and agreed my husband would fix it or call to get it fixed. To make a long story short, we put a cup under and forgot about it until after the warranty ran out. The extended warranty is $309.95 for a year, which did not seem worth it since it was a manufacturers defect - we did not want to give them any more money. My husband and I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher 2 years ago and had our first problem when we opened the dishwasher for the first time. The bracket holding the third shelf was broken. The dishwasher had already been installed so we could not return it without a lot of problem. KitchenAid sent out a technician and he replaced the part. The rack opened with much difficulty but he said he could do nothing about that. Over the next two years the dishwasher had a slow leak that was not detected until we noticed black mold growing over the side and front of our cabinet next to the dishwasher. We called kitchenAid and they sent another technician who informed us that the leak was a result of the replacement bracket being installed incorrectly. When we again called KitchenAid to rectify the problem that they caused we were informed that it was not their problem and we had to pay for the part as well as a large bill for labour. We are completely dissatisfied with KitchenAid and their total lack of support of their customers. I would never recommend a KitchenAid appliance to anyone. They do not back their product unless you are willing to pay again and again. As I have noticed on some of the other complaints filed with consumer affairs re: KitchenAid dishwashers, we also have noted a bad smell from the dishwasher if the door has been closed. I was unaware that it was the result of the dishwasher not having a fan motor. What an inferior product it truly is. Had we known we would never have spent so much money to purchase their product.

We purchased a new KitchenAid KSBS25TVBL01 Side by Side with ice maker in the door. The design is lousy! The flapper valve is supposed to close after ice is dispensed but it is so poorly designed that it closes weakly. As a result, warm air flows into the ice bin area and starts to melt the ice. It slowly leaks and leaks. Our refrigerator has a wooden panel on the front and water builds up behind the thing. I just took it off today and the wood had swollen so much that I had to gently pound it off. We will call tomorrow and ask for another repairman. Initially we bought this thing because supposedly it was one of the best warranty-wise, but this part of it is junk. We are afraid to use the ice maker so will just shut it off. Based on what I am reading, it looks like the only solution is to dumb the thing and buy another brand. We paid a bunch for this thing and I think have been hosed!

To date, all but one set of rack roller parts have been replaced under warranty, and the problem with the jammed motor/pump was also fixed under warranty. HOWEVER - the repeated breaking of the rack rollers in an ongoing and unacceptable problem. Despite the evidence, KitchenAid customer service claims there is no known issue with these parts. The only way to restart the oven is to pull the unit away from the wall, unplug it then plug it back in. Unfortunately this is not a viable solution for our 91 year old mother. We cannot find anything in the manual to help solve the problem. It would seem from the website that this is somewhat a common problem.

I installed a KitchenAid Dishwasher KUD101FL SS3, Type 577-0, during my remodel. I have to wash the dishes before I put them into the dishwasher or they leave dried food on them. The cable pulley broke and came crashing down on my leg. The door is very heavy. I was very fortunate that I was bruised rather than fractured. Also, there was a very loud clashing noise when the blade goes around. Now, I am not using it at all and must call a repair person. Of course, it is no longer under warranty. What a shame that I paid so much for a worthless appliance.

When I pulled the top rack out to unload it, the left side collapsed without any warning, spilling dishes and glasses down onto the crockery in the bottom rack and out onto the floor. When I looked for the cause, it was obvious that one of the two flimsy plastic “spring” pegs that retain each wheel of the upper rack on its axle had broken. This allowed the wheel to pull off the axle and thereby allow the entire left side of the top rack to collapse. It seems to me the axles on the rack adjuster (part number W10350376) are very poorly designed and is not made as solidly as the wheels on the lower rack. This is despite the fact that both upper and lower racks are of the same dimensions and so to me as an average consumer, both should be able to support a full load of dishes.

Had purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator new in September 2013. On January 3 the refrigerator broke AND WAS LEFT WITH NO REFRIGERATION. Being under warranty KitchenAid sent out their service repair service. On January 8, the service repair came and said they had to order a part. On January 14, service came back, installed part and that was not problem, had to order another another part. January 22 came, installed part, didnt work, said had to order another part. January 29 returned installed another part, still didnt work, said that new part installed was defective, had to order another part. On January 30, I called KitchenAid and stated that I wanted a different repair person and they would not do so because their repair service are qualified technicians. January 31, installed yet another part, didnt work and said it was unserviceable and wouldnt come back and refrigerator had to be replaced. KitchenAid said they would not replace but wanted to get another opinion. February 6, 2nd company came out and wanted to order more parts. In the meantime, we have Four children and have been LEFT WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR for excessive amount of time. Never seen service like this before. Please help because in the middle of all this more than several phone calls transpired and its obvious that no one at KitchenAid could care less that a family is left without a refrigerator.

I purchased what I thought to be my last refrigerator in 2007, a KitchenAid KSSC48QMS03. I built my house and was able to maintain and solve any issues that arose and they were minor. 12.23.2014 my refrigerator stopped cooling. We trashed at least 500.00 worth of food and have been living out of an ice chest and an under counter refrigerator. I hired an independent repairman 12.26.2014. My cooling system was leaking but the control board was fine and the 12-year warranty was in effect. He referred me to Kitchen Aid factory service 12.29.2014 for 95.00. They told me it would be 1,200.00 out of my pocket to fix the WARRANTY coolant leak but they would not stand behind the repair. He also offered the tsunami tale. I went home and watched the evaporator fan run at full speed so my control board and refrigerator do not have the problems he outlined. I am now waiting for a call from Whirlpool to entice me to spend more on another of their wonderful products. This is criminal.

Dear FOLKS, please read this review. WE FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION!! My wife
Dear FOLKS, please read this review. WE FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION!! My wife and I remodeled our upscale homes kitchen 2+ years ago. Granite, all brand new top of the line Kitchenaid appliances. We wanted to buy American, since I have had a 35 year + career in US based manufacturing sales. Well, the KFIS29PBMS refrigerator was unbearably loud from day 1. We had 4 warranty calls right off the bat. They replaced the DC fan motor, the compressor and some icemaker components. This did nothing to relieve the very loud whiny electrical motor sound that was on almost constantly. This took us to the end of our 1 year mfg warranty. We called Kitchenaid several times and they basically showed us their corporate middle finger. They suggested we purchase the extended warranty, which was several hundred $ more! No way, we are not that stupid or foolish. 5 different factory authorized service people visited us. By luck, or I think, Gods grace, repairman #5, who had 18 years as a tech rep, finally solved the issue. The problem was the sealed refrigerant system had a leak. The compressor was kicking into the highest gear (hence the loudest noise level) to try and keep the freezer & refrigerator cool. Our bottom drawer freezers coldest temp was at 20 degrees, when it should have been 0 degrees. The icemaker requires 15 degrees to make ice. It could not do this since 15 degrees was colder than the freezer temp, and the icemaker is located in the refrigerator section! The sealed system has a 10-year warranty, so the final repair cost $0!! Our refrigerator is now very quiet, much to our delight. There were times when we could not deal with sitting at our kitchen table. So, justice was finally done. Call your factory authorized repair people and make them check the temps in the freezer. Kitchenaid needs to stand behind their substandard products. The repair people advised us that Kitchenaid will no longer pay for warranty calls based on noise. If their customers make them replace the expensive sealed refrigerant system enough, perhaps they will spend the extra $ to install better quality units from better quality suppliers. I was told by every tech rep that the quality of todays appliances have deteriorated significantly in recent years. The big companies wants your $, but dont care if they send you bad products. Thank you, I hope this helps many people.

We recently bought a used KitchenAid stainless steel stove. The control knobs are at the front of the oven and we discovered that they are easily turned on with even the slightest touch or bump. Unfortunately, when working in the kitchen, I did not notice that I had lightly touched the control knob which turned on the High setting. Within minutes the high setting ignited the oil in the pan on a front burner and flames were shooting up hitting the over-the-stove microwave oven. The flames covered the bottom edge of the microwave and the plastic edge melted.Luckily I was able to extinguish the fire, but my house has extensive smoke damage and could have completely gone up in flames. As well, the microwave oven is no longer useable. The stove knobs are a serious safety hazard as they can too easily be turned on with a light touch, a childs hand or even a dog sniffing the front of the stove. We are going to throw the stove out and never buy a KitchenAid appliance again.

We purchased two kitchenful of appliances, one was the Pro Series. Within a few months, the enamel on the KEBS208SSS top oven began to pit and chip away. KitchenAid sent out a new oven. We were happy. We should have known that this could potentially happen again. Meanwhile, the microwave computer board went out after the warranty date and it would have cost nearly as much as a new one to fix. The hood over the range has had issues with needing replacement bulbs, only to find out that this time the fuse connector was burnt. Too bad the warranty period is over and good luck, said the KA agent.Last week, I noticed that my replacement oven was showing pitting and wearing away of enamel once again (blue enamel). The KA agent was kind enough to tell me I was probably using it wrong and that I was supposed to clean up the large spills before running the cleaning cycle. I might add that a piece of the foil I used to line the rack for the large spills fell to the bottom of the oven and is now permanently attached to the enamel. I have not used the cleaning cycle in fear it will cause more damage. Again, the agent told us theres nothing KA can do and maybe search for an enamel repair kit and good luck with getting it resolved. I am shocked by KAs attitude and lack of support.

I bought a Kitchenaid dish washer (KUDS30IXSS8) based on my experience of decades of reliable, high quality product ownership. If you are reading this, you already know what a complete piece of junk your dish washer is because youre once again repairing the thing. My upper dish rack height adjustment mechanism self destructed after only one year, sending small pieces of plastic into the water flow. Of course they ended up in the food chopper and thus, trashed the blade and plastic shaft assembly. Whirlpool refused to send the part, even though the flawed design from the rack mount is what caused the damaged. They wanted to order a service call, at my expense, or they offered me an extended service plan for $270. The part only cost around $12 from from Amazon. There was plenty of how-to videos on the web to show you how to fix the part, so I opted to fix it myself. The new part looks exactly the same with no structural improvements so Whirlpool continues to put out inferior parts to go perfectly with their inferior products.

Purchased our Double Oven July 29/11 from a local appliance shop (Herbs Appliances), authorized dealer for kitchen aid. From day one it did not work properly, convection fan made noise, in all fairness Herbs came back and fixed that. Then the electronics board failed. Had to turn breaker off and on, to reset it constantly. Well, now Herbs Appliances was not so eager to return and did not return at all. Excuse after excuse why he could not come. Then the upper oven failed totally. Called Kitchen Aid said it was no longer under warranty. Absolute nightmare from Retailer to manufacturer. To add insult to injury, we purchase a new cook top from Ikea. Nutid Induction cook top. It lasted 6 months, half the burners failed. To my surprise it was another kitchen aid product. Kitchenaid refrigerator model ksrg25fvms - I bought this appliance in 2009 for $1,765. When I received it, I immediately started having problems. In the first 90 days, there were problems with the freezer. When the repairman came to fix it, he didnt do anything. He just said to unplug the fridge and it will fix itself. We continued having problems with it, and recently there is an accumulation of water in the fridge under the bottom compartments. We called to get it fixed, and KitchenAid said that we would have to buy a one year extended warranty to fix it. We did. The repairman came and said that a small pea was blocking the pipe, and that’s why there was water. That is not accurate and he charged $349 just to give this stupid diagnosis. We are extremely unsatisfied and would advise people not to buy KitchenAid fridges; it was quite expensive and defective. It has been giving problems since the beginning, and customer service is of no help. Instead of making people buy expensive warranties, they should just make products that are built to last and that are highly functional.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in June 2011, model number KUDE70fvss2, and I have had nothing but problems with it. I bought it because KitchenAid is notoriously quiet and I live in a smaller home and I did not want to hear noise all over my house. Nothing has fallen off or apart, but this dishwasher has never and I do mean not one time cleaned my dishes properly. All dishes and glasses are left with stuck on food. Lipstick never comes off of cups, glasses or silverware. All glassware is cloudy with all kinds of drinking matter still inside. I have to wash everything by hand when the cycle is over... I have had the repair and warranty people out too many times to mention. Water that runs through is scalding. I use recommended products and have even made my own hoping something would help. Alas, this seems like nearly $2k down the drain. Anyone else with this problem? Im a senior and should have written Kitchen Aid a long time ago, but now that I plan to buy another dishwasher, I think I will deal with them. Has anyone else out there gotten their money back?

I have tried to be patient, but a week after an oven fire, that had it happened when we were gone, would have started a kitchen/house fire. As it is I had to call the fire department because I could not turn off the oven. A malfunction allowed the igniter to heat and by the time I woke up (4 am), the house was filled with acrid smoke smell. I went out and thought I had finally canceled the igniter (the cancel button seemed to turn things off after several attempts). Then my husband woke up and wondered what was going on and why, after 1/2 hour the smell was still very strong. Come to find out when I went back in that the igniter was still on and the cover plate over the heating element was bright red with flames shooting out of the sides (of the plate). It was self-contained in the oven, but so hot that when the fire fighters came, they couldnt touch it. They had to turn off the gas and unplug the cord.As I said, its been a week and there has been no call back after the initial phone call to send out a technician (The technician was great and found where there was a short on the board). What is most sobering to me is that my husband is disabled. Had the oven fire started on a day when I was gone volunteering, he could have been trapped by a house fire. I explained this and still no response. I would highly recommend not buying anything from KitchenAid/Whirlpool until they have a better service record.

Also had a bad taste in the water that took over a month to clear up. Then the ice maker stopped working. Had the same repairman out. He was unable to repair said it needed a new ice basket. This has been ongoing for four months and I have yet to talk to the correct person for the exchange. Purchased in April 2013 in BrandSmart USA, model as per attached photo (french door) began showing signs of ice in the back upper left corner. A continuous noise (zzzz) non stopping, louder by the day until I called BrandSmartUSA service. One technician came and, after taking out the lower big drawer and removing the interior back cover, found a ball of ice covering the upper part of the evaporator. He removed the ice and said the evaporator needed to be changed. A few days after, he came back with a fan. Looks like his service experts didnt agree with his assessment and changed it to change the fan.He came back, upset when he realized instead of an evaporator, he got a fan. He removed again the lower drawer, the internal back cover to find out a perfectly functioning fan but an evaporator that is already forming ice again. Im the mean time, another technician came and his diagnostic was that the assembly behind the ice maker/water disposal (see picture, located on top, left inside corner) needed to be replaced. According to him this is the assembly that controls the cool air distribution and its malfunction causes the problems I am experiencing. According to him, it is a common problem of this model. So, after three visits of the technicians a less than two years old refrigerator still doesnt work properly. One theory: change the evaporator, Second theory: change the upper assembly. One thing is certain, I wont buy ever again a KitchenAid refrigerator and will think three times before buying appliances from BrandSmartUSA.

We used the Aqualift feature for the first time this weekend on our Kitchenaid oven. The oven really wasnt that dirty, but we wanted to get the glass door cleaner. The Aqualift process did nothing to clean the oven door. No matter how many times we ran the process. We ended up using a half of box of Brillo pads to get the oven door glass clean. This is not what we expected for the price of the range we paid from a kitchen specialty appliance dealer. This experience was unbelievable. The inside of the oven wasnt that much cleaner either. But the 2 cups of water were still sitting on the bottom of the oven like the manual stated. Note: We did not use the Brillo pads on the oven cavity as we did not want to scratch the finish. We have used the pads on other glass items without scratching the glass; therefore did the oven glass door only. It took about 2 hours of manual labor to get the glass cleaned. This will be the last Kitchenaid product we purchase as a result.

We have a 42 KitchenAid refrigerator and have had the Tech out 3 times for repair. We were told by the technician that the fan motor had shorted out and caused the main control board and another fan to go out. So 748.00 dollars later, we still have no refrigerator working and this is after the Tech removed the board and the fans and said the board is not being made and so it has to be sent out and rebuilt...should be 2 weeks. They would ship the product to us and then we call them and set up another appointment. When the 3 items came couple of weeks later, the one fan that was a heavy metal blade is now being replaced with a thin...black plastic one. Note: when Tech opened the box, the fan was broken…one blade completely broken off and 2 other blades were cracked…Now mind you, a kid’s plastic toy can be thrown, dropped, kick and abused by the kids and not break, but this fan got all this damage just being shipped to us and this is supposed to run and operate my 9000.00 refrigerator?? The Tech said, “Well they changed to plastic because it is lighter. Are you kidding me? Lighter? Are we going to carry this refrigerator around? No, it’s cheaper...and also a piece of junk...not even a heavy plastic. If it cant survive shipping, I have to wonder how it will run my refrigerator. Now the Tech puts all the parts in and tells us that will be 748.00+ and also we can buy a warranty to protect us from other repairs for 210.00…Did it and he left. 3 hours later, I decided to check it to see if I could start putting my foods in and if it was cold enough...Not working...flashing lights on the panel...from 60 to 30 and no ice maker working either. I called them back ASAP...they said we will make another appointment for you...Are you kidding? Send back the Tech. After much discussion with the service people, they came back 4 days later...Tech says board is no good...has to be sent back to where it was re-built and he (Tech) spends most of the time on the phone with someone...telling him what to do (I guess). He states he has been with the company for 31 years but both times he is on the phone with someone most of the time. So now we are supposed to get the board back in a couple of weeks...and then call them again to have it installed. Meanwhile, they have received 748.00 plus 210.00 for the service warranty and I have nothing...no refrigerator for over a month. This is unreal…like the product does not have enough problems...they change out the metal parts for these thin piece of crap plastic and control boards being shipped out to the customer without being tested to see if they were rebuilt right before they send it out to be installed. So I lose all our food and pay for a rental fridge while this mess is still going on...Service and Quality...RIGHT...I dont think these Techs know what they are doing or why would they need to spend most of the time on the phone with whomever it is they are having walk them through this service...

Its a nice oven, I just have to remember that it heats up very quickly and to be careful when Im working around it. I do like having the double ovens and I usually use the smaller one on top. It was a new purchase last year.

I purchased the KitchenAid refrigerator Model Number KS3C23C8EYY02 after building a new home which required new appliances. The date of purchase was May 2014. Today is April 5, 2016. Several months after purchase ice machine didnt work. This was summer 2014. After several visits from tech, it was fixed. Now, ice accumulating in my refrigerator and the fan is continuous on sounding like a twin engine in the kitchen. Tech said I needed a sensor. For a new refrigerator and may I say it was an NOT inexpensive appliance, I very discouraged by the quality. My warning to future buyers... Stick to another manufacturer or if you insist on purchasing, be sure to purchase extended warranty.

My husband and I bought a refrigerator from Gerhards at 9475 Roosevelt Blvd a Philadelphia, PA on 06/09/13. We also purchased the extended warranty thru them. Kitchen Aid model KF1S27CXMS, 27CF DR bam REF ICE KA, purchased from Gerry Gerhard, one of the owners. It was delivered about a week later, thought everything was okay. My husband noticed that the doors were not lining up, so service from Gerhards came out. First tech had no idea how to fix it so we scheduled another tech from Gerhards to come out. This time he said not only the doors were off, the right door was dented, he said he would recommend another fridge. So we had set up another date for a pick up and exchange. The next one was worse than the one we already had, so we scheduled another pick up and exchange. That also was damaged when it arrived at my house. So we called Jerry said we could pick out a different fridge but when we got there, he told us to travel to his Glenside store for a bigger selection. We picked out another brand but Jerry said it would be another $400.00 which we just couldnt afford, so we kept the original one with a $200.00 credit from Gerhards. Well about 2 months ago, the water and ice stopped working, so being under the warranty we were told to call Kitchen Aid and we were told to contact Quaker City which we did. The tech came out had to order a part, but in the meantime the fridge stopped being cold and the freezer quit. So Quaker City said food would stay good approx 48 hours. The part that was replaced didnt work so now there are 2 parts on order, and this was well before Thanksgiving!!!!!!! We had to throw all our food out! This has been and continues to be a complete disaster! We dont know who to turn to, I was so happy getting a French door freezer on the bottom with ice maker and water. Now I wish we kept our old no frills one! Communication with Quaker City is the Pits! I also called Gerry Gerhard and he wont return any of my calls! Great business ethics!!!!!

On June 27, 2018 my parents purchased side by side KitchenAid refrigerator model: KRSF505ESS. They made this purchase at Canadian Appliance Source. The product was delivered on Sep.20.18. The product has not performed well since opened, the freezer didn’t freeze and the ice maker didn’t work. To resolve the problem, we contacted WHIRLPOOL CANADA, at phone 1-800-807-6777 as they are taking care of the appliances after the purchase as a manufacture warranty. We scheduled an appointment for Sep.27.2018 and the technician appeared on the wrong address, even though he was provided with the address shown above and the postal code. We called to Whirlpool Customer service again and scheduled new appointment for Oct.1.2018 from 9am-1pm, Spoke to Brenda. We arranged the time and took time off from work, nobody appeared, no phone call made to notify us.When called Whirlpool on Oct.2.2018, they advise that the appointment from Oct 1st rescheduled for Oct. 2nd (without any notification to the customer) and the technical behind the schedule. The time of my call was 8pm Est. on Oct.2.2018. The tech didn’t come (spoke to Stephanie). I called Whirlpool on Oct.3.2018 stating that the technician wasn’t at the place and they offered to reschedule the appointment for Oct.10.2018 for 8am-12pm (Spoke to Tylor). At this time the technician Ram **, from “The Appliance Pros came. He did some maintenance and advised to wait for 24 hours to see if the fridge is working. The refrigerator didn’t work, and at this point both the fridge and the freezer weren’t operated.I was calling Whirlpool Canada on Oct.11.2018 and explaining that the fridge is not working. The representative after a long wait on hold explained that we are on emergency status but unfortunately she doesn’t have any records or documentations from the technician about the issue. I called Whirlpool Canada on Oct.12.2018 at 8:30am Est, and they said that the technician should come secondly to monitor the issue, and it is scheduled for Oct.16.2018, and again nobody notified us about this.I am very frustrated customer of being offered poor service, very long waiting times on hold, NO COMMUNICATION between the customer, the Customer Service and the maintenance team, and no resolution in timely manner. I would like to address it, since it is not the way Whirlpool should serve their customers. I would like to get faster response for the addressed issues, need to be notified about any changes that done by the customer support representative about any changes or updates about the service. Im not typically writing reviews but this situation should definitely be addressed. I hope my review will avoid people of dealing with CAS in particular and Whirlpool Canada in general.

The issue I am currently having is trying to get a new control panel for our built in refrigerator. The day after Christmas the refrigerator went out. The following Monday I called a local appliance repair business so we could get the refrigerator fixed. They showed up the following day and informed us it was the main control panel that was out and this part was not available. They suggested we either were going to have to have the control panel rebuilt or if that did not work the only solution was to buy another refrigerator. I found that hard to believe so I called KitchenAid and eventually got to the Built-In Department. I was told the part was getting ready to be available and would be ready for distribution on 1-7-16. Was also told until now this part had not been available due to the manufacturer being destroyed in a storm and it had taken them several years to redesign a part that actually worked. I also found that hard to believe. However, I now thought all issues were taken care of and excepted the wait. Well, yesterday I decided to call checking on things only to find the part did not go out as stated and there was still (0) showing in their availability. The parts distribution company that our repair shop orders their product from had not even placed an order because there was still 0 showing available. After several phone calls and talking to several different people my frustrations only grew. It appears that even though the folks in the built in department could see the inventory was available nobody was able to order the part because the part is still not showing up as available in their system. Finally, the part was made available for me to order, shipping at my expense, to be shipped to my repair Co. I also then found out that I would then be responsible for shipping the core back and that I would have NO warranty on a $350.00 part. If the part was ordered through my repair Co I have a warranty and no shipping expense. They were not even willing to ship next day or 2nd day mail. For a part this expensive and with as many issues it appears there have been with it, I decided I needed the warranty so Im back at the mercy of KitchenAid and the wholesale part supplier to get the part to my repair Co. I found the policies at KitchenAid and the procedure they go through to be very non-flexible and not consumer friendly. In addition, we put all KitchenAid products with the exception of our gas stove in our house. We have already replaced the built in Ice maker and the microwave. This will be the last KitchenAid/whirlpool appliance we ever purchase.

Two years ago I bought what I thought was a beautiful new refrigerator (Model KFFS20EYMS01). It was a lot of money for a teacher. However I was excited to replace my 20 year old Whirlpool. What a dumb mistake. I thought Id done my research but apparently not. Six months after the warranty had worn out the machine began to over chill and making a racket of noise. After jumping through hoops and many many angry phone calls to KitchenAid and their repair contractors they agreed to pay for the repair. But it didnt fix the problem. This went on for two months. It was a nightmare. Now a year later, again the machine is building up ice. Do not buy a KitchenAid. I will never again.

I bought all KitchenAid appliances at the beginning of 2013 and I have had to have the freezer fixed 3 times and now the cook top is broken. I have an extended warranty that I bought through KitchenAid. It is Dan Marc Appliance Repair in New Jersey and they are horrible. They either order the wrong part or the part comes broken. I always have to go 2 weeks without a refrigerator or freezer. And I also lose a freezer-full of food. KitchenAid, who is owned by Whirlpool, is horrible to deal with and I would not recommend them to anyone. And to me these appliances are new and to have them fixed 3 times in 2 years is not acceptable. They are also overpriced.

Let me begin by saying that when my husband and I built our home 8 years ago, we researched and thought Kitchen Aid was the best product and value for our budget. We have had nothing but trouble with all three of the appliances we bought from Sears that were Kitchen Aid! Our Kitchen Aid stainless steel Dishwasher that we paid entirely too much money for worked for about 3 years and then we had to replace several parts on it. It lasted about another 3 years and we finally decided to throw it away and purchase the cheapest Kenmore dishwasher we could find! It has worked perfect! When our stainless steel Kitchen Aid fridge was 7 years old, the ice maker went out... We have yet to get it replaced! Our stainless steel Kitchen Aid double oven has been giving us problems for about 2 years when it was 7 years also! The bottom oven went out on us this past Easter so we have only the top oven working... So now Christmas Eve, when I preheated the top oven to cook my Christmas Eve dinner, the oven began to smoke at 240 degrees! Oh my goodness....whose appliances go out on major holidays! We paid a ridiculously large amount ($10,000.00) for all 3 of the appliances and are so disappointed that now we have to either pay a repair man to fix our double or just go ahead and buy a cheap double oven. I will never buy or suggest anyone buy Kitchen Aid for sure!

In the past 8 year I have built 2 new homes on the upscale side of the housing market. In both situations I used higher appliances from KitchenAid. For the investment made, I am very dissatisfied with quality of the produce drawers. On both drawers, the chrome deco on the drawer handle has come loose dueto faulty adhesive and both drawers have cracked in the center of the drawer handles. This is something I would expect from a 300.00 refrigerator, not one over 2000 dollars @ builders cost. In addition, I had the ice maker replaced in 6 months due to a faulty board, which is something you as manufacturers are aware of, but failed to advise the consumer. We have replaced the ice maker board and now will address replacing both produce drawers. I must say that after less than one year of ownership and facing the fact that all the other series of appliances are also KitchenAid products, I am waiting for the next problem to occur. I come from a family of builders, both residential and commercial and intend to advise them to consider other upscale appliance manufacturers on future projects. If this letter never goes up the management ladder I am sure I will receive the same reply as my last e-mail, indicating that your Customer Service Department also needs repair. Being an owner of several national companies myself, I am very aware of the damage that can be done by not reacting to a problem, where consumers are involved. Thank you.

The glass window on my two-week-old KitchenAid Superba double oven with convection exploded last night during the cleaning cycle. Glass flew out all over the floor, clogged the vents of the oven, and terrified me. Thankfully, I was home and able to turn off the unit before anything else happened. I purchased the Kitchen Aid model KUDS301Xss and had it installed in Jan. of 2011. In the first year, under warranty, I had the rollers on the rack replaced (they are plastic and after heating in the dishwasher, they get brittle and break) and then I had the control panel replaced. Shortly after the year warranty was up, the rollers on the rack broke again, and I was told that it was not covered, so I spent $50 to purchase the parts and I repaired it myself. I was offered an extended warranty, and I purchased it because I had already had so many problems that I thought it would be a good idea. So now, I have had the dishwasher for just over 2 years and the rack rollers are broken again! I called to use my extended warranty, dont bother. Its not covered! The rack is covered, just not the rollers; this doesnt even make sense to me! So I called Kitchen Aid Customer Service and after talking with a supervisor, I was told that they could offer me the parts for 50% off - $75 + tax! I explained that I paid $50 for them from a local distributor and they could keep their parts. All I wanted was for them to give me the parts; I was willing to fix it myself! I will never purchase a Kitchen Aid appliance again and I will tell everyone I can to do the same! I wouldnt be so upset if the company would stand behind their product. Its a poor design and poor customer service makes for one unhappy consumer!

For the second time the transistor/computer board has malfunctioned. We bought the appliance in set 2006. After two months we had a terrible leak due to a faulty stab fitting in the water line. In Feb 2010 the transistor blew and was replaced. It happened again and now we need to get a rebuilt one, not new because of the tsunami knocking out the plant that used to make the parts. Why would I trust the part? Also they say turnaround is 48 hours, we will see. If it werent for the custom wood panels I have on the fridge, I would switch to a new brand!

The thermal fuse has blown out several times over the last two years, and is costing money each time. KitchenAid could care less - they are raking in the money as exclusive supplier of the parts. We have other Whirlpool and KitchenAid products, and the process is always the same. Theres no help from the company, no cheap parts, and theres aggravation at a simple machine that is designed to break down. Our Whirlpool dishwasher is designed with too small of a draincock, and it constantly blocks up. I am a repairman, and I am tired of coming home and fixing these ** things. I went over to Maytag and Sub-Zero, and have not regretted it. I now tell all of my customers and friends to not use these products as they will constantly be fixing them because they are designed to fail.

I have owned a KitchenAid Gas Range/Convection Oven KGSA906PSS for several years. I attempted to use the self-clean feature for the first time ever yesterday. I wished I had searched for KitchenAid complaints on this website first. Apparently, I am one of many who has burned up the oven control panel by merely using a feature of the oven. How is this possible that there is no recall or product support from KitchenAid for such a common problem and obvious product defect? I called KitchenAid and as you can guess from their low ratings on this and other sites. They were zero help and I got the impression they could care less if any of us ever buy a KitchenAid product again. They should be happy to know that I in fact would never buy another KitchenAid product or recommend that anyone else ever does. The repair (punishment) cost is estimated at $600. This is a repair for attempting to use the oven clean feature one time. One of the features we looked for on an oven although for some reason (thankfully) we didnt use. This represents a full 45 percent of the ovens purchase price and yet KitchenAid has no assistance or comment. Good Job, KitchenAid. I hope this experience helps somebody make a wiser purchase decision.

I can not use the full functionality of self-clean that we paid for due to blowing the fuse, and completely undependable. (MY OVEN WENT OUT ON THANKSGIVING MORNING!) IN 1953 my parents built a house after I was born. They had a KitchenAid dishwasher that was still working perfectly in that house when they retired to Florida in 1986. I figured that was a good reason to look at KA appliances when I remodeled the kitchen in my current house in 2011. BAD MOVE!! I bought a whole stainless KitchenAid kitchen (warming drawer, cook-top, double built-in convection oven, hood, etc.). Im now looking at the four repair tickets that document the three months it took for them to get the double oven model #KEMS308SSS04 brains working - thankfully covered under warranty as it was within weeks of installation that the troubles began - and thinking I didnt know how good I had it then compared to the dishwasher travails Im still going through!.The dishwasher - Model #KUDS30FXSS1 - has broken down four times. The first time was just after the warranty ran out and we paid for labor when they replaced the controller circuitry. The second was shortly after the first and we paid again for the part to be installed - both times having to wait several days, dishwasher less, for the part to be delivered after the diagnosis. On the third time the control panel went dark, about two months ago, I opened the unit (having seen techs do it four times) and after jiggling the circuit boards and re-seating the plugs it lit up and worked... until we loaded it after dinner last Thursday. Now the control panel is once again dark. Im waiting for some response from Kitchen Aid and Im warning you not to buy Whirlpool corporation stuff as it doesnt dont work and the company doesnt care.

Our Gas Range/Oven is a little over two years old. It has a self cleaning feature, that you would think I should be able to use. The first few times it worked fine, no issues. I used the self cleaning feature in November of 2017 and received an error message, but didnt really tell me the problem, after it was done the oven door locked and I could not get it to open, even after I tried to cancel and reset. I had to call a repair person, since KitchenAid wanted no part of it, since it was no longer under warranty, how convenient. $180.00 dollars later it was repaired, I needed a new part, since the technician said that with the self cleaning feature it tripped something in the electrical system, and he also added that it will probably happen again. So I have this self cleaning and I cant use it. Unbelievable.Anyway, I did use it again, and no issues, but last night I set to self clean for one hour and guess what, it happened again. My door is locked and the inside oven light is on, and I cant turn it off. I reached out again to KitchenAid, and they were very sorry and would refer this to their support team, but no recalls on my appliance are on file, therefore, they cant do anything for me. Unbelievable, now Im waiting for the repair person again to fix the issue again, and Im the one paying for it. NEVER EVER again will I buy a KitchenAid product. We had this oven range delivered in early December 2019. By Dec 26, the inside top oven enamel had shattered. My comments are reflective of everyone elses complaints on their dishwasher. I must be going crazy because I can hardly believe that a dishwasher cant wash dishes! Ive been pulling my hair out for 4 years trying to figure out why my dishes are so bad. I have convinced myself its our hard water (although we have a water softener) or the lack of phosphates in the detergents (I only use powder) and I even bought some contraband phosphate commercial detergent form amazon... No luck.I have to show you how bad my glasses are, so bad my kids have stopped using them because they are dirty. A lot of it appears to be etching, some is a film that can be scraped off with a razor, but none will come off with a scrubber or soap. This build up is an endless cycle of more crap sticking to it with every wash! I hand wash glasses all the time and refuse to buy another set of new glasses only to ruin them.I must say other than the door hinge cords breaking I havent had the misfortune of ANY broken parts or broken controls (crossing fingers!). I use my dishwasher every day. I do have a tip on the door hinge. DO NOT pay a repair person to do it. The part is $15 and 15-30 minutes of your time. Also note that we installed generic parts and we ended up with the loudest creaky door you have ever heard. The fix was to put the OLD wheels on the new part, and it worked like a charm (apparently the new wheels are made from a different plastic!) My request from fellow consumers... What dishwasher will you replace yours with? I just want this to go away!!!

Wow! I am completely dumbfounded at the incompetency and lack of customer service KitchenAid provides for warranty work... Start to finish, it has been a horrible experience and my very expensive, 3 1/2 year old fridge still isnt working. I dont even want to go into all the details because this has already wasted so much of my time. I just wished I had read all the other reviews prior to purchasing this fridge... very disappointing and I will not recommend nor purchase any more of their appliances.
