Product Reviews:

We purchased a new Trane A/C 16 months ago and have had a few small problems. Now our A/C has quit working due to a coolant leak. Paid $349 for a leak test only to find out the leak is in the evaporator coils in the air handler. The part is under warranty but labor to replace it will be $999. I spoke to a Trane representative thinking they should foot at least a portion of the bill because if their product worked correctly I would never be in this position. They adamantly refused to consider even paying anything, intimating that it was the environment or installation that caused the problem. We had our last air conditioner 15 years before having any service problems and have barely made it a year with this unit. This will be my last Trane purchase.

I have owned a 31/2 Ton Trane over/under package heat pump since June 2011 and it has performed faithfully without the need for service. My electric bill is reasonable too. I have maintained the system by keeping the filter clean (permanent filter) and flushing the evaporator and condenser coils. In South Florida, when I needed heat it did the job.

3 ton 16 seer heat pump 15 kw heat pack and it's been awesome. All I can say is, treat the guys doing your install like family and they will do you a good job. I feed them supper and we watched a movie after. I live in Waco, TX. It gets very hot here. It was 113 last week with 60% humidity. We keep the air on 65 and it has no problem. It cycles on and off like normal. Our energy bill went from $340 to $360. Now it's $120 to $130.

My husband and I purchased a Trane air conditioner and furnace in 2009. Both came with 10 year warranties on parts. Since we have had both units, each has broken every 2-3 years. The air conditioner broke in June of 2012 on a 90 degree day. The furnace broke in November 2015 on a very cold Michigan winter. June 2017 rolls around more problems with the air conditioner. We are feeling a sense of complacency and BOOM, summer of 2019 and the air conditioner fails us on another 90 degree day. We consult their website and Trane sends their MOST incompetent technician. Moral to the story: Do not buy anything from Trane!

Complete system was delivered and installed in about 6 hours and does a good job of controlling our home climate. Can’t provide efficiently related to our energy cost because it was only installed to replace our old 24 year old worn out builders grade system this past weekend.

Got Carrier Infinity Greenspeed in November 2012. Got the 97.2% efficiency infinity modulating natural gas furnace and 4 ton 17 SEER air conditioning unit. I do love the low speed variable heating as it keeps a gentle constant heat. Cooling is also good and efficient. Both units, however, have been unreliable. In October 2014 the furnace broke. We needed a new inducer motor. They don't keep parts at Carrier, so it took several days to get the part. Cost me $400 for labor and other parts. In July 2015 air conditioning unit leaked and had to have coolant replaced. In May 2016, the unit would not start during routine twice a year maintenance service agreement we had with installer. There were multiple leaks and the entire outside unit and coil had to be replaced. The installer was great and didn't charge for labor since we had repeated problems with the unit. Carrier again did not have parts on hand, so had to wait a week on parts. Still cost me $600 in additional installer parts not covered by Carrier. So, on this supposed high end system, both the furnace and air conditioner have had major failures in under 3 years of use and these have cost me over $1000 out of pocket. Obviously, my conclusion is that Carrier Infinity Greenspeed is a piece of junk.

So, like you, I researched and YouTubed every A/C and type. Dual hose was a MUST for large rooms in area of the US where it gets extremely hot. This model I had to wait a couple months to finally be back in stock on every website but I knew I needed the Best Buy Warranty, especially in something this expensive. This thing happens to break, like other models do, I can take it right back to the store and get another one. So, I did curbside pickup and brought this home over 3 weeks ago. I live in the High Desert of a California, that place you pass with Tumbleweeds, on your way to Vegas. It gets up to 120, some days during our worst summers. Well, so far our hottest day while I had this unit was 107 degrees. It kept my almost 600 square foot room nice and COLD, it even turns itself off when it reaches your desired temperature. It has no problem keeping this large room cool and staying that way on the hottest of days and seems to do so with ease; so I'm extremely happy about this purchase. This was expensive and works as good as the glowing reviews say! And if it takes a poop on me for whatever reason I'll use my warranty and get another one, so the peace of mind with Best Buy Geek Squad added warranty makes me feel safe with my purchase and getting years of use out of this Whynter AC. If you had any doubts, just do it, it's awesome. Oh and I normally don't write reviews- so yes, these are my own thoughts, no I'm not sponsored, or receiving deals, discounts, or compensation for my review. (I wish LOL.)

In July of 2014 we purchased a Whirlpool "Gold Series" model #WRF990SLAM00 refrigerator from Lowes. Within 6 months there was ice and condensation in the top of the fridge. After repair came out and replaced the main circuit board we thought the worry was over. It hasn't worked right yet, making loud noise. It continued to never make ice correctly and now, 18 months later our freezer is out! Everything is unthawed and it will not make ice. We called Whirlpool to explain our problem and the only response we get from them is....they can sell me an extended warranty. We spent $2400 on a refrigerator and they won't even talk about fixing it. We don't want anything free, just ours working. Needless to say Whirlpool lost my business forever. They will not stand behind their products!

3-ton package unit, 16 SEER - Shortly after the unit was installed, we noticed water draining on our wooden deck. The unit was not placed on our deck, but it butted up against it. This was in June that it was installed. It is Nov. 9, 2017, and it is still drenching our wooden deck when the air conditioning is on. The company has tried everything they know to do, and they have spent hours and hours and hours here with many calls, 12 different techs. The guy yesterday and another tech said the unit is a poor design. The insulation was removed and was dripping water like a pitcher of water pouring out. We have condensation on top of the unit and rusting in one corner. We have not paid any money for all the hours and things they have tried. Next they are going to lift the unit and put in a drain pan. My husband is concerned that the water is still going to be a problem, and with winter coming, we will not be using the AC until spring to see if it is fixed. Goodman has been no help. NEVER gonna buy a Goodman product ever again!

Freeze notices sent in email - servicemen's visit confirmed bad fluid plugging A-coil. This is the 2nd service call on company recall for this area. Failures occur after first winter. Parts and tools on order. Wait and see about costs verses warranty. 362 days after new install of furnace and air conditioner.
