I installed this myself 16 years ago. For most of that time there have been 2 people living here, but the house has a possible 5 bedrooms, which is why I got an oversize water heater (and, I am sure, because it was on sale). We have somewhat hard unconditioned well water and I drain some water from the bottom every couple of years, but have seen no sediment.

I purchased a new water heater from Rheem and had it installed. I never got hot water and it took almost 2 weeks for Rheem to give me a new one. Customer Service was horrific and the most incompetent people I have ever had to deal with. I spoke with them and told them that my water heater has never worked and they shipped out part after part and finally gave me a new one. My family was in a new place and had no hot water for almost 2 weeks!! There was nothing but an, "Oops, I'm sorry." from Rheem. I have never been so dissatisfied and so infuriated at a company before in my life! I will never buy anything from Rheem again. I suggest everyone save their money and buy from anyone but Rheem!!

Faulty hot water heater gas control valve/thermostat. Only 3 years old and started leaking. No company that sells the Reliance water heater carries any parts. The website only list a few dealers. Had to order from factory. Part is under warranty but paid $30 for overnight shipping. I should have read Consumer Review before purchasing a Reliance heater. Thought my local dealer/friend carried good products. Ace. Our last heater lasted 30 years with no problem. I'll read ConsumerAffairs before I purchase anything else!

The Kenmore 58250 is a sturdy, 50-gallon electric water heater with anti-corrosion features to lengthen its life. These features include two anode rods in the water tank, as opposed to the single one in most tanks.

I purchased a standard gas powered water heater from American Water Heater with a 6 year warranty. The heater failed in 7 years. The problem is simple, a failure in the electric gas feed regulator that results in the stop of all gas flow. Pros: It appears to have failed in a "safe" way - no gas flow. Cons: But there is no repair path - not because of the specific component that failed, but rather because this heater was designed such that even replacing the simplest component will cost almost as much as getting a new heater installed. Given that design, a 7 year life cycle is WAY TOO SHORT for an appliance like a water heater.

I love this water heater. I installed it myself. I have experience in plumbing, so I decided to save money by installing it myself. The install was what I expected since I have installed these before. This water heater is very quite, so I was surprised to hear about all of the people saying it is too loud. It is very quiet. You can barely hear it if you are next to it. In fact, I thought there was something wrong with it since it was so quiet. I highly recommend this water heater, you will save money and space.

I replaced an AO Smith water heater in 1996 with a Bradford White. The AO Smith lasted five years. I first thought the AO Smith was made in the USA, I saw one at a business I was working and it said made in USA. After that was installed, I looked at the info on the unit and found it was made in Mexico. I guess they decided to move to Mexico for cheap labor. So I wanted a new water made in America. The only one I found then was the Bradford White from a local plumbing company. So I bought a 50 gallon one. I just replace it in 2016. Yes it lasted 20 years. It started to leak at the bottom so I knew it was time to replace it. The plumber that replaced it told me the tank inside had dropped two inches, but it did not burst. The company that has install the Bradford White in my area no longer carried them. So I bought a Whirlpool from Lowe's that was made in America and came with an 8 year warranty.

Kenmore Power miser 12 electric water heater. Every couple of years the thermostat goes out. The part is under warranty, but will cost $181 to have Sears fix it.Tried to call manager in service about - 6 times, just kept getting transferred and dropped. Shouldn't this be considered under the lemon law for appliances. 4 times in less than 10 years! And I can't get anyone to talk to there. Called two different 800 numbers. Such a rip off. My next water heater will NOT be from Sears or a Kenmore that is for sure. We drain and do the proper maintenance every year for this. We never had any issues with our old water heater with the thermostat.

We purchased a home three years ago, and the previous owners had put in a new water heater the year before. It has a 6 year warranty on it and we are 4 years into it. The water heater failed today. When we contacted RHEEM, they said that the warranty follows the owner. WHAT??? This was definitely a ridiculous and clear way of avoiding the warranty, while not standing behind their product. BUYER BEWARE!!

Your company sucks and take advantage of their customers. You guys sold me a faulty unit. I followed your directions to a T. After months and months of back and forth emails I finally called today. Spoke to 4 people and the last person I spoke to was so rude and refused to let me speak to a manager. I'm out $1500 for a water heater that last 3 months. This is complete ** and not sure how you guys still have a company. I will do everything in my power to make sure everyone knows my issues. And after looking into it I'm not the only one with this issue. You guys should be ashamed to have such a ** company. And to take advantage of people in times like this. 100% the worst company I have ever dealt with. And to not be able to speak to a manager and I even let them know I have numerous emails since February 2021 regarding this issue. I have all my documents of all conversations. So this will be taken to the next step.
