I purchased a Samsung dishwasher in Jan 2014 model #DW80F600UTB/Aa - Do not buy this!!! First off it never dried the dishes then approx 6 month later it would stop in mid cycle blinking lights on panel. After a long hard researching & calling Samsung I was told the issue was the turbidity sensor, I replaced that & it worked for about 3 months. Then it started the same thing, now I am told its the main control panel.. (no I did not get extended warranty). I just got that part but unfortunately the part was bad so I have to send it back for a new one. The bottom line - do not buy this dishwasher. Its horrible. You should stick with G.E. - at least they stand behind their products.
My wife and mother in law purchased a Samsung refrigerator on a whim without doing their research. Consequently we have a fridge that has given us nothing but problems, the main one being that its not cooling. Had the service guy out (again) and three days later its not cooling again? Im back to putting food in my fishing cooler. Stay away from Samsung refrigerators at all cost! Gotta make yet another service call.
Bought my Samsung Stainless Steel Gas slide-in range #NX58H9500WS on March 26, 2016. Last week after the holidays on 12/27/17 decided to use the self cleaning oven for very first time (oven was only lightly soiled). I picked the short 2hr cycle since it was the first time using the cleaning feature. About an hour later noticed the display lights were all off and oven was not running. Oven door was locked. The knobs and display panel were hot. Waited for it to cool down for hours. Nothing changed. Luckily the stove top still worked! Called PC Richards for my extended warranty service. A week later the repair tech came and said he has seen this problem many times before and that it is a known design flaw of the range and suggested I clean the stove manually from now on! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing - after spending over $2000.00 on a new range I am supposed to clean it by hand? The tech ordered the 3 hidden thermal fuses and will return to repair when they come in. If that does not unlock the oven door he states it could be that the motherboard was also fried and need to be replaced. Luckily I have an extended warranty but if I attempt to use the self clean again will this happen all over again. I will be contacting Samsung for the answer. I am 60 yrs old and have never had to clean any oven manually before and don’t intend to start now! Apparently this is a known flaw and this product should be recalled by Samsung. I will wait until the tech returns with the parts (hopefully within another 2 weeks) and everything is fixed and then intend to contact Samsung again. This is a major inconvenience, not having an oven for at least 3-4 weeks. I hear the customer service and satisfaction at Samsung is less than adequate but I am relentless and will not accept this situation. I will keep you posted.
I and my family are extremely disappointed with a Samsung product (DMR78 Dishwasher). We bought it three years ago and it already stopped working. When asked for support, I was told that a defective part will be provided under warranty, but I should pay for labor to install it. On top of labor, Samsung wants to charge $100 for a service call. This is really bad! This is Samsungs fault, that a relatively new product stopped working (an old GE model worked in our kitchen for 10+ years without a glitch, before we replaced it with DMR). Now, Samsung wants to charge this ridiculous service call charge of $100 on top of the $80 for labor? The total $180 fee for our choice of this product? That’s a very disappointing way to treat your customers, Samsung USA!
RF263BEAESR/AA - We bought this fridge less than two years ago. I agree with the other reviews that it is a bit noisy but thats not the worst problem we have. The ice maker is awful! The ice remains in the chute (in the door) and then melts and leaks out of the dispenser! We end up with water dripping down the front as well as inside the fridge, in the door shelves and under the produce drawer. We have to keep a folded paper towel under the dispenser constantly! We also have to open the door and reach inside the ice chute with a small spoon to scoop out whatever left over ice remains there or else it will melt and leak everywhere! HOW can we all start a class action suit?
Dishwasher cleans great, but after it was hooked up for a couple months one day the dishes did not come out clean. (I must say right off the bat that the dishwasher was in place for a year before it was hooked up so, although it had not been unwrapped, the warranty was up before the problem started.) Thought there might be dirt or something caught in the bottom under the screen. Took the screen and spin wheel thing off to clean it and found the problem was a small bit of plastic from the top rack had broken off and was stopping the little wheel from spinning the arms the water comes out of. Thought it may have broken because I had moved the top rack up to accommodate a tall item. Did not move the top rack again after that, but a month later, had the exact same problem caused by another bit of plastic broken off the rack. It is very annoying since there are 13 or 14 long screws that have to be removed to fix it. Would hate to be paying a repair person every time this happened! Seems awfully cheap production to have the racks falling apart and causing the dishwasher to stop working!
The ice maker is poorly engineered as it stopped working within 3 years. (Froze up and jammed). We had a refrigerator repairman from a local reputable appliance store come to our home. It was $400 to replace the ice maker plus labor; we didn’t do it because the repairman said there was no guarantee the new one would work for long. Next the alcove where the drinking water station is located was not lined with stainless steel, so we have rust stains on the front of our white refrigerator!! Lastly, after calling Samsung customer service several times, they just said, “Sorry. Your warranty is up.” The refrigerator was $2,300.
RF267ABRS - Problems from the get-go. Ice in fridge under slide-out drawer, ice maker with loud periodic click, water on floor (and we have hardwood floors!), fridge and freezer not keeping safe temperatures. We replaced the seals with supposed Samsung seals at a cost of nearly $400. Did not fix the issue. Now causing marital issue coz I dont want a fride that doesnt keep foods at a safe temperature! If there is a class action suit, Ive not been notified. We bought this 7 or 8 years ago, has never worked right and still people with more recent purchases are having the same problems!!! Wow. Shame on Samsung.
This very expensive 4 French door refrigerator (over $3000) quit cooling within 2 years of purchase, and Samsung is non-responsive. My story sounds like the same thing others are experiencing. Samsung supposedly scheduled service with an independent contractor to come look at it and he never showed up because no one ever told him -- they dropped the ball completely. They cant be rescheduled for at least 2 more weeks. I have been receiving the same line, (its not my department) from Samsung for every call I make. Meanwhile, my food is spoiling and I am hoping we dont end up with food poisoning from improperly cooled food. I paid too much for this one to run out and buy another. So we use. It is apparent that once Samsung gets your money they do not care. In my experience, this is a terrible product and bad company that should stick to making televisions -- not refrigerators.
This is the second French Door Samsung fridge I have bought, and it will be the LAST Samsung product EVER to be in my house. The first french door one was perfect. I purchased model # RF263AEWP from Lowes in Dec. 2011. Bought an extended warranty, that was a waste of $. Cant get anyone to come out. There is only one company in the East Bay of San Francisco that will come out my way for warranty work and they have lots of complaints on Yelp. They must all know the problems and dont want to bother? The water pools at the bottom of the fridge, the icemaker works when it wants, frost buildup on the back wall of fridge, etc. Today the final straw was the horrific fan noise that stops when the doors open, and then resumes when the doors are closed. With open concept kitchens, the noise is extremely annoying. I am going to throw in the towel and get a new one, even though I cant afford it. Too bad there is not a designation for negative stars! I cant get to my receipts - the filing cabinet is stuck closed.
I bought My dishwasher last April but I received it in June. It was working good for few months till 1st week of Jan 2022. It showed code PC and stopped working. I called Samsung because I was still in company guarantee. The Tech came 3 weeks later. Its been more than 3 months. They send the Tech to my house to change one part each time. I send them letter and call them, They never call you. I was told they can just repair and they cant exchange or refund. I dont need to tell them I need functional dishwasher. They know but they dont care. I am working and I can accept the Tech in my house just on Saturday. I am waiting quiet every Saturday for Tech, till now they changed more than 5 parts. Do not buy their product.
Ice dispenser went crazy and was dispensing ice inadvertently into the kitchen floor. 542 dollars later, new front panel with control board, now will not make ice. A&E/Sears made an effort to repair and 3 days later, still no ice. Repair tech said there is a service bulletin if my unit was made 2 months earlier, but parts are still over 500 dollars. To schedule a Tech, usually takes another 2-3 weeks also. Junk is a conservative adjective for this refrigerator. I have read many reviews of consumers with the same problems. I think it is time for a class action law suit against the manufacturer.
I really like this fridge because of the price point. Although I do have a couple of issues. First being I hate that no matter what temp you put the fridge on you will have to eventually manually Defrost because there is no option to do it by itself. Second even after googling how to defrost it you have to basically take it apart and do it yourself no matter what. Thirdly I wish there was a way to either turn off the door open alarm or adjust the time. Overall, I’m pretty happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend as a good starter fridge.
During a heat wave mid January 2014 Victoria Australia this appliance decided to switch itself off. LED lighting on front panel showed no indication of this but the huge puddle on the floor sure did. All of the food in both refrigerator and freezer had to be thrown out. Repair people called, also call to Samsung who told me to try resetting the fridge, long story short. I followed their instructions to the letter, even cancelling the repairman.. What about all my food? Sent me forms, I sent back with photos of some of food on my tiled floor. On repeated phone calls was asked for receipts of food that was spoiled. Well slap me dead, please! Who keeps receipts on food, esp when frozen things could be 3 plus months ago.I was offered $100.00 compensation. I said that was not good enough. Do you know how expensive meat is? Anyway contacted consumer affairs here in Australia. They could do nothing except of advise to contact another govt organization and lodge a claim with them, VCAT, not to mention there is a cost involved with that. Three months on, no contact, no cheque and this last time I or my family will buy anything associated with Samsung.
We bought the Samsung refrigerator in 2011 and have nothing but problems. First the ice maker went after a month. Then it started making a loud grinding noise. Now it wont make ice, it will stop cooling, water dispenser does not work, and the control panel is flashing and cutting off and on. Model rs261mdpn. Biggest piece of crap.
When I purchased my expensive Samsung Refrigerator about two years ago, the installer recommended strongly that I purchase an extended warranty. My reaction was... since my 18 year old KitchenAid that I was replacing never had a single issue in its lifetime (it was just getting dated), I would think that the Samsung engineers would have really learned how to make a solid product. How wrong I was! A few days after the one year warranty expired, the ice maker started to quit. I would defrost it, and then it would work for a while and quit again. Now it has quit completely. Now it is making lots of noise because a fan is hitting an ice build-up on the cooling coils. Ive had to shut it down, move all the contents to our now 20 year old KitchenAid (working great) in the garage, and let the Samsung sit warm for a day before starting it up again. It works for a while, but this continues to be a repeating problem. The ice maker has crapped out completely, and I use the one in the 20 year old Kitchen Aid in the garage. My expensive Samsung is truly a piece of junk not worthy of being called a refrigerator. Never Again!
Weve owned this fridge since 3/29/10. Weve had nothing but problems with it ever since. Every time theres a power failure in our area, the digital panel needs to be reset, which has been a difficult process to accomplish. Last June, our freezer started making loud rattling type noise. I had to have the Defrost Sensor replaced as it was faulty and causing excess ice to build up on the fan in the interior of the freezer. Well, now the freezer is doing the very same thing. I called Samsung again last night expressing my frustration and dissatisfaction with this fridge thats only two years old! Since my unit is out of warranty, they originally told me there was nothing they could do about it. I told them thats what I was told last June when I called with the freezer issue and at that time, I was given a warranty extension and the repair was made free of charge. This time, after insistence on my end, I was offered again a free repair or a refund prorated of my purchase price. I chose the refund since Ive had enough with the issues with this fridge. I paid $899.99 for the fridge on sale from Sears, it was originally $1299.99. I was offered a prorated refund of $719.99, which reflects a 10% depreciation for each year of ownership. I said, I think Samsung should stand behind their product and give me a full refund of my purchase price since this fridge has been brought with issues for the last 2 years. I was told a prorated refund was my best option. I now am waiting for the refund check to come in the mail and then go shopping for another fridge. I will never ever buy any Samsung products again. Once I have my new fridge in place, I then have to cut the power cord off my fridge and mail that and the serial number sticker from the interior of the fridge back to Samsung. Their refrigerators should not be allowed to be sold any where.
We had the absolute worst experience with Samsung. We called because our freezer was 2.5 years old and both ice makers broken in addition to the freezer. Our freezer wasnt staying at the correct temperature. I called to see what, if anything they can do. They advised me that there is no warranty. I requested the information for an authorized Samsung repairer (they did not offer). I was told that I would need to call and set up the appointment since I was no longer under warranty. I expressed how disappointed I was that our refrigerator was broken and was under 3 years old. He continued to reminded me there is no warranty so that was the end of that. I then called the number provided by the Samsung representative and did not speak with anyone. I chatted with a representative over the internet and explained that I could not get in contact with them and explained that I am loyal customer of Samsung for over 10 years and am in need of assistance. He could not do anything other than tell me that my warranty has expired and that I should call the number provided. I called a total of 4 times and left 2 voice messages. I then contacted via chat to beg for help and he then provided a number to Samsung Emergency Help. However at this exact time my husband was at the house with an unauthorized repair company because we have now been 4 days without a refrigerator and have a house of 6 to provide for. The emergency repair representative said that they cannot help because an unauthorized has touched our appliance. The unauthorized repair man confirmed we had a freon leak which was the reason our temperature was not right in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments in addition to having broken ice makers. The Freon had a 5 year warranty and when a supervisor called me back she said I should have looked at the manual and that that was my responsibility. I reminded her that I told the rep I spoke with everything and I am not too savvy when it comes to diagnosing issues with my refrigerator so I did not know it was the freon, I clearly communicated that the freezer and refrigerator temps where not right and the original rep I communicated that too agreed but still told me I have no warranty so I believed I had no warranty.I was repeatedly blamed for not arguing with the rep about the freon and warranty issue. They blamed me for getting a unauthorized repair man, They said I should have kept calling them when I got no response from their authorized repair facility. The chat rep disconnected/hung up on me (still had questions), when I asked to speak with the supervisor - she stated, You actually spoke with my supervisor already, and went on to explain that her supervisor passed it to her to handle when I requested a supervisor and that I could not speak to anyone else. The supervisor blamed me for not setting an appointment up through them (even after I told her I was clearly told that I have to do it). I did not raise my voice nor did I at anytime use vulgarities or insult anyone that I spoke with.I reminded them that I was a loyal customer with over 14 Samsung products that includes appliances, phones, media equipment, and tables and it meant nothing. I suggested they at least give me a coupon to purchase something else and all was denied. I cannot and will not patronize a company that has such bad service. I talked to Samsung 3 times by phone when I called, 2 time when a supervisor called me, and 2 times by chat and I did not have an acceptable experience. I feel as if the product was defective if everything broke within a week of each other and it was only 2.5 years old. Terrible Service, no I am purchasing a new refrigerator and will not consider a Samsung product again.
This refrigerator has been nothing but a problem. After 3 years, we had to entirely replace the ice maker for over $200 in repairs (not covered by warranty). After 5 years, we had to repair the water dispenser. At exactly, 5 years and 4 months, the freezer died, 1 week later, the refrigerator died. It is out of warranty and Samsung does not provide any support. In our county, there is no longer a Samsung certified repair shop. No one will even touch it. Samsung finally referred us to A&E factory service, more than 40 miles away. They came out to do the diagnostic today (2 weeks after the freezer failed). The repairs for the broken evaporator are over $700. This was a $1,500 fridge purchased at Best Buy. Samsung has been very disappointing. They are not willing to cover anything or provide product support. Will not buy from them again.
Poor Samsung customer service! My dishwasher was broken after using it for second time. Fine! A technician came and reported it as an unrepairable issue in Jul. Then, it took 2 MONTHS to get replace approval! However, I got a call from Samsung after confirming with me to replace a new unit in Sep, said there is no available inventory near my area (Baltimore, MD), We (Samsung) are gonna refund you the dishwasher. So far (Oct), the case is still pending, the broken dishwasher is still in my kitchen! Never and ever buy Samsung products!!! Terrible customer service!!! Poor internal communication!!! Im running out of my patience!!!
We bought a Samsung French door refrigerator two years ago. Our ice maker has gone out and we need another one. Upon looking on the parts on the Samsung website it says It is NOT available. Really? How do they think the people are suppose to fix the ice maker? The last refrigerator we had the ice maker went out in a year. We called the Co. and they said It COULDNT be fixed. What do they think we are suppose to do? Keep buying refrigerator? The next one I buy will NOT have an ice maker in the door.
I like that the Samsung dishwasher cleans the pots and pans since I have bilateral carpal tunnel! Very seldom do I have anything that clings to anything. Then it is only because I have days that I will drop everything and need to let them set a day soaked in water.
We bought Samsung refrigerator (four doors, model number RF28HMEDBSR, order number ** from Home Depot) and it was delivered on June 9, 2015. On July 19, after we came back from a five day trip and found there was water on the kitchen floor and the ice maker didnt work when I wanted to get some ice, we did more digging and found that there was a lot of water inside the refrigerator and the ice cubes were melt and crumpled together. We cleaned the floor and inside the refrigerator and called the Samsung service center. They sent a guy to fix the ice maker two days later. He seemed to change the ice maker. But the new ice maker never worked. It didnt even make any ice cubes and only water leaked to the inside of refrigerator and to the floor. I had to call again and they will come to check it next week. I never had the experience of having a month old refrigerator not working correctly. The old one (Hotpoint) we had lasted almost 30 years without any problems.
My fiancé and I left our home with our daughter at approximately 8 AM this morning for work. We had both spent significant time in the kitchen before leaving and the microwave (SMH9187ST) was properly functioning (displaying the time, no one had used it since the night before.) When we returned around 5:30 PM, there was an electrical smoke smell emanating in the house. My fiancé immediately followed the smell to the kitchen, where he saw our Samsung microwave was smoking and the clock was not displaying. Upon opening the microwave, we observed more smoke and the scorched insides of the microwave. The glass turn table had shattered and there was a charred hole in the rear of the interior. There was obvious scorching up the back of the unit as well as on the top. He immediately opened the cabinet above the over-the-range microwave and unplugged it. There was no one in the house during the day, except our dog and 2 cats. The unit appears to have spontaneously combusted. After researching this model, I cannot believe it has been allowed to remain in homes this long after so many reports of damage, fire, and potential disasters. We are seriously lucky our home did not burn down with our pets inside today. Our daughter turns 1 tomorrow and is usually home with the babysitter, luckily she was not home today. I dont even want to think about how badly this could have ended for me and my family.
Two years ago I purchased a Samsung refrigerator (model #RS267TDRS). About a year after we bought it, we started to have problems with it NOT COOLING. Well needless to say, today it officially BROKE and all of our food has SPOILED. I immediately contacted Samsung and I spoke with Tiffany ** (operator #**) and Shonda ** (operator #**) of their customer service department. She told me that there is nothing that she can do to replace the refrigerator because it is out of warranty. After pleading with her that I have three small children under the age of five who need to have access to milk, juice and medication that requires refrigeration, she told me that she would schedule a service call (ticket #**). The problem is that I live in a rural part of Virginia. They wont be able to come to look at the refrigerator for a few weeks, let alone fix it on the spot or that it would be covered since it probably would be something that is not under their warranties. I need help! I cannot wait this long to get it looked at! I have already lost $500 worth of groceries and if I replace it with new food, we dont have a way to store that food. Please if someone at Samsung is reading this, take action to HELP ME. I am writing this post in hopes that someone at Samsung will see this and be able to get me a real resolution to this problem because I dont know what to do (maybe exchange for another used model or even a new one?). I currently work for the Marine Corps and we cant afford to buy another $1,500 refrigerator, especially since this one was purchased brand new 24 months ago from Lowes. I dont like dropping the we are a military family moniker, but the fact is I am a veteran who needs help. Again Samsung, please help! I am desperate since as a veteran, we dont make the type of money that most other families do. Not that any American family makes enough money to keep replacing refrigerators every two years. To be fair, I will update everyone if there is an amicable resolution to this issue.
The oven temperature climbs and lowers all during the baking process. Totally inconsistent. Horrible for baking cakes! I bought a portable oven thermometer to monitor it. I can set the oven for 350 and the actual temp in the oven will be 375 one minute and 325 a few minutes later. There is also a 25 degree temperature variance from front to back and side to side in the oven. Forget cooking more than one item at the same temperature. When you buy such a big oven you plan on being able to utilize the space by cooking more than one item, but beware, they will be cooking at different temperatures. The top low burner is not low at all. It boils everything. The long middle high burner is okay on one end and way too crazy hot on the other end with flames so tall they lap over my skillet. The Samsung name on the top front/center of the stove is stickers. Each letter gradually slides off from the heat of the stove.
I purchased the Samsung 24.5 cu. ft. Side by Side (RS25H5111SR). Retail is average of around $1600-$1800. I had to return it to the store after 30 days. Although it was functional as far as space, it not only hissed and popped at intervals, it also had a very loud and annoying gurgling sound that was very audible. It was making sounds about 90% of the time so this one had to go! Cant imagine why Samsung would even allow their name on this type of product. At least the store was cordial about returning the refrigerator and allowing a new purchase (with a different brand).
1000. Dishwasher has stopped working 2 times in a year. The first customer service call last March 2014 went ok. However now my dishwasher and hasnt worked for 2 weeks. Service quick makes appt and doesnt show, shows and doesnt have the parts. Horrible place. Never buying Samsung again.
Purchased a refrigerator both compressor and main circuit board broke after 2 years. Customer service wasnt helpful. Executive department told me to read the policy. They wouldnt allow me to speak with a manager. Poor product, poor service. $1800 unit garbage. I will NEVER purchase anything Samsung again.
Our Samsung started making this popping sound three weeks ago. (2-3 pops per hour). I did a web search and found that many others are having the same problem. I called Samsung customer service, and was told the sound was Normal. I guess I am not quite understanding normal when it never made this sound before. I just wish Samsung would take our complaints and concerns more seriously. The sound can be heard throughout the house, its as if someone was sitting behind the fridge popping balloons. We never hooked up our ice maker so its not that. I will say that the fridge works fine in every other way. Thanks.
RF266AEPN/XAA - Purchased 8-2012. Pbm began July 2014. The fan made a loud racket. Sears was great. Repairman said it was due to fan hitting against ice built up on drain tubes caused by putting hot food in refrig (steam turned to ice). Food safety requires hot foods must be refrigerated! I now have to defrost my refrig & freezer for 2 days to install a $200 kit to prevent this from happening again... It should have never happened in the first place. What an inconvenience. While Samsung denies having a problem, they conveniently have a repair kit specifically designed for the Non Problem. It is a beautiful and functional refrigerator but I am disgusted with Samsung. If make a mistake, admit it, fix it and people will respect you. Samsung responsibility is to reimburse everyone for the kit and the cost of installation.
First of all the vegetable draws very difficult to remove for cleaning. My 4 door unit is only 6 years old...and of course its out of warranty. The refrigerator part is forming ice and keeping a temperature of 50, where I have it set to 37. Will not deal with Home serve. They wanted 80 to walk in the door and another 80 for travel expenses. Live in Staten Island NY and they are coming from New Jersey...are you kidding. I told them where to go. Called an outside repair, which I have used before and now its the fan underneath the unit. And the repair is going to be expensive. DONT EVER BUY A SAMSUNG...EVER. I am just disgusted. I also have rust spots forming on the door of the freezer section and Samsung said its not covered. Really.
I purchased a Samsung French Door refrigerator (RF266ABRS/XAA) just a few years ago. It was very expensive. Over the past few years, we have noticed our food has gone bad quickly and the temperature in the refrigerator was not what the computer panel said. About 2 months ago, the entire refrigerator died. Both the freezer and refrigerator died. We called Samsung, who told us to call a local repair company. That was done. When the repair company showed up, they said that in all their years in business, they had never seen such a young refrigerator have all the internal workings die so quickly. Samsung said, to be able to repair under warranty, they needed the original receipt. I did my part and found the receipt. After 10 days time and 3 weeks without a refrigerator, the repair company was able to order the parts from Samsung. The only problem was, Samsung was having technical difficulties and couldnt send out the parts for the refrigerator. We waited another 2 weeks to get the refrigerator parts from Samsung. Once the parts came in, the repair company came out and fixed all the inner parts of the refrigerator. Two weeks later, the entire machine is not working again. There is water on the floor. The entire machine is up to 70 degrees. The repair company is coming back again to see if they can see what is going on this time. I called Samsung. I explained what has been going on and that this machine is so new. They said it isnt under the 1 year warranty and that all repairs are my responsibility. Their customer service was appalling. Clearly, this model, as it has been noted in a class action lawsuit in New Jersey, is a lemon. The coiling system was bad from their creation. Samsung, which makes billions of dollars a year, cannot comprehend the problems caused to consumers who buy a lemon refrigerator and are not willing to accept the consequences to producing a less than quality product. I sit here with a broken fridge once again, no help from Samsung and spoiled food. I wont be purchasing any Samsung products forever! Do not purchase a Samsung refrigerator. No matter what you read on any website. They are NOT quality refrigerators and youll end up like me sitting in your kitchen with spoiled food for the 5th time! My apologies, but I had higher hopes for Samsung.
As many others have complained - our Samsung fridge started icing up and filling crisper with water after a year and a half. Samsung states there is no recall and offers no extended warranty although it is obviously a design/construction issue. Their recommended repair service replaced the back panel - stated fan wasnt working (no way to verify) and drain tubes in back/bottom due to poor design and new ones have a better filter. For these fixes we were charged $475 and they only warranty for 90 days! Sad to say, from reading other posts it sounds like the initial problems will recur - probably in a year so no help from Samsung or their recommended repair service. I wish I had researched before purchase - too many complaints here - all with the same issues! There should be a class action suit to recover costs for their defective product! Boycott Samsung -- JUNK!
Hot surface light on stove top stays on. It needs a new sensor after 18 months! I paid 1300.00 and the stove top doesnt work very well after only 18 months! I called Samsung Canada and was given no satisfaction. This model should be recalled.
Bought a Samsung microwave almost two years ago, and this is the second time we’ve had a major repair. Just before the warranty expired, the fan went out. It was challenging to get Samsung to agree the repair was covered and then to schedule the repair. Now the magnetron tube and couple other parts need to be replaced, parts and labor costing around $275. I’m debating whether to sink more money into this thing. When it works, it’s great, but with this record of repairs, I’m hesitant to invest more $$.
Purchased electric range in 2018 and 2 months after the warranty expired things started going wrong. When I use a burner to cook no. 1 is way too hot and I have to remove the pan to a cold burner. When I set the timer on 5 min. after setting the oven temp. it reaches 400 degrees in 2 min. which means it does not heat properly. My husband advised me not to use the oven as it could be dangerous. When I used the oven all the cabinets on the side of the range, the top cabinets and the top of the stove were super hot. The microwave which is above the stove was just as hot. After reading the reviews I am amazed at how things go wrong after the warranty has expired. When we purchased the range we were told after 3 years if we did not call a maintenance man to the house because of a problem we would be reimbursed 1/3 of the price paid for the range. Good luck on that one. I am now fixing meals in the slow cooker or microwave. My husband called Samsung to complain and he was told the warranty expired and it would be $100.00 for a house call then we had to pay for parts. We are in our late 80s and should not have to deal with a lousy product and lousy service.
I bet we havent used the dishwasher 10 times. We bought it before the condo was finished remodeling. It sat there until the builder could finish so the warranty is right at a year. Even tho we havent been in our condo a year. Its a beach condo so we are not here all the time. You literally have to slam the door to get it started. It washes for 2.58 hours according to the button on top. (If you can get it to run). It stops and starts. We have called Samsung did everything they suggested by unplugging it. Nothing they suggest works. Piece of junk Dont by Samsung dishwasher. Exactly why they dont have a better warranty. Youre just screwed.
I bought my refrigerator at Home Depot. It is a Samsung. I have had it for about 5 years. Just recently the hose to the Ice Maker sprung a leak and filled my kitchen floor with water! I have tried unsuccessfully to fix it. I think I will have to go to Home Depot and buy a kit with all new parts and try again to fix it!
The 2 stars are given because they are beautiful BUT we did a complete kitchen remodel in 2018 and nothing is holding up. We spent over $5000 on a SmartHub fridge that wont make ice properly and freezes up every month or so, $400 on a microwave that broke 5 months ago, over $5000 on a double oven that wont hold its temp properly and now we have to pay fo fix the washing machine that we spent almost $2000 on. We spent well over 15,000 to have matching smart appliances that well end up having to replace within the next few years. Nothing has connected properly to the smart hub. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Bought new Samsung microwave (me21h706mqs) and after one week it caught on fire at the plastic piece in rear corner. Lucky we were at microwave watching or whole house could have caught on fire. Huge plastic smoke and horrible smell. Home Depot response was call Samsung. I asked them to come and take out as it is health hazard. Called Samsung, had to call three different numbers as they cannot transfer, phone technology?? Samsung was not impressed their unit caught fire and really did not care. Said they would sent tech in 2-3 days. UNACCEPTABLE.Basically they hung up on me after I requested someone come out on Monday to remove. Do you think if this happened to the GM at Samsung they would have treated it as routine maintenance? It is now 2 hours after Samsung was supposed to be here and no word yet. Going to replace with ANY other brand than Samsung. If you look at these reviews you see many fires. Cant believe they still are selling them. Buyer beware.
Beware of Samsung appliances. The only good outcome of the whole experience was that my refrigerator broke and could not be repaired 2 months before my 1 year warranty expired. Customer service was atrocious. I will never purchase a Samsung product, of any kind, ever again.
Dishwasher Model# DW80F600UTS/A. S/N B00AG9MD914188D. 4th repair ticket # **. We purchased a complete kitchen suite from Home Depot In Canton Ohio on 11/20/2013. They were delivered on black Friday and in the 13 months of owning this pile of appliance chunk I have lost 6 days of work, almost 8. Those lost wages could have gone to the purchase of a new dishwasher, not to mention dealing with the inabilities of Samsung Customer Service that couldnt seem to remember me and the same error 4 times (flashing delicate light). Of course they replace the parts, chasing an error that isnt in their manual because its an error that proves this unit is a lemon and they know it but they string you along telling you to unplug the unit for a couple of minutes and then plugging it in. Now I used to be a tech manager for a computer chain and that is the trick to reset the computer board inside the computer. Yes this dishwasher has some sort of motherboard if you will that needed replace on day 1 with all the other parts that were changed on this pile after this was built. In other words some people may have all the upgraded parts to the same model and are not having any issues, for the rest of us, were stuck paying for the recall. I have a complete Kitchen full of this Samsung junk, hell the phone Im using to type this review is a Samsung, which I thought was quality and comparable to an I phone. I will no longer support Samsung in anything they do. I will replace each and every piece of Samsung garbage I own and I will devote my energy into providing consumers with the reality of what Samsung is. They are a corporation that spit shines items to provide the illusion of quality, something that YUGO never did. People bought the car because it was cheap, same as Chrysler did with the K car. Consumers bought knowing that they werent paying for the name but for the car. Samsung has decided to have you pay for name because people recognize the name from cell phones and tvs. Trust me when I say this. They should not be in the appliance business, people should stick with the products their ancestors bought. Maytag, Amana, Frigidaire, and even Kenmore. I apologize to my late grandparents for purchasing this junk in the first place.Oh, and to you Samsung! You have lost another customer for life with your poor customer service and inability to relate to the consumer. By the way, your call centers need some help. Just another smoke screen for everyone to navigate. Good bye.
Approx. 4 yrs ago purchased a Samsung French door fridge. Recently the mullion bar became inoperable. After reviewing possible remedies IT became obvious that a new mullion bar had to be purchased. After purchase was made at a cost of $117.74 I tore the replaced bar apart and discovered the culprit to be a spring in the lower part of the bar. This spring could be made for no more than 50 cents at any reasonably priced manufacturer. I assume that the bar is also made by the Samsung corporation so it would be to their financial benefit to develop this spring as cheaply made as it is, so that additional financial gain could be made by their sale of this bar. My advice to any, who are considering purchasing this refrigerator is BUYER BEWARE.
We purchased our Samsung French door refrigerator (Model #RF263BEAESR) in March of 2013. What a piece of junk and to add insult to injury... poor customer service from Samsung. The unit does not defrost properly on its own. We have been experiencing ice build up behind the back interior panel of the fridge compartment. The ice builds up to such an amount that the fan blades can be heard scraping the ice build up, which is an unpleasant sound along with the motor groaning at times. In addition, we have been dealing with water leaking from the back panel onto the shelves and inside the bins.Contacted Samsung and they arranged for the only authorized service repair company in our area (40 miles away) to contact me. Set up an appointment with them. On the afternoon of the appointment (while Im sitting at home waiting for them during the time block they arranged) they call to cancel. Then when I try to reschedule they keep offering only morning times which I told them I could not do. I got so frustrated with the whole ordeal I simply told them to forget it. Then when I email Samsung with my frustrations they reply with bunch of B.S. that did nothing to correct the problem or stand behind their product. Now after only being 3 years old, I am replacing this giant piece of crap with a new refrigerator because I am so disgusted with Samsung.Go to YouTube and you will see how to videos on how to attempt to fix Samsung refrigerators with the exact same issues we are having. And there are countless horror stories on ConsumerAffairs.com of people having the same issues with their Samsung fridges. Not to mention in 2010 there was a class action lawsuit against Samsung for the exact same issues with some of their fridges. But yet Samsung has the audacity to tell me they are not aware of any such issues with their refrigerators. Funny how the appliance place we purchased our replacement fridge from no longer carries Samsung. Do yourself a favor, steer clear of Samsung for appliances... Period. They are a piece of junk and the company is horrible to deal with.
Seven service calls in the first 2 years. Repair man said Samsung does not design them correctly and the ice maker will never work. He was right. I have to use a blow dryer and an ice pick every weekend to defrost and keep it going so we can have ice. DO NOT BUY a Samsung refrigerator - do your homework and buy one that has good reviews.
Bought black stainless steel refrigerator two months ago. Thought black stainless steel meant black stainless steel, not covered with film coating that is starting to peel and I do not know what to do to stop it from peeling. Other people on internet is having same problems with black stainless steel appliances but cant find out any information how to repair.
We purchased a Samsung RF323TE French Door Refrigerator with a Bottom Freezer and Ice Maker in approximately November 2012. Things were working fine until we started noticing a foul smell (like urine) coming from the water out of the dispenser. The water and ice then tasting bad as well. I thought it was the filter, so I bought a new filter, replaced it, and flushed it with several gallons of water through the dispenser as instructed. This worked for about a week, and then the problem returned. I thought I just got a bad filter, so I put a new one in and repeated the process. Shortly after, the problem is now back. I went to the Samsung website to try and troubleshoot it, but I could not find nor enter the model number. I got an error message saying the model number was not found! I have not called them, and I am not sure if we bought the extended warranty from Lowes, but the reports I have read are very discouraging. I will definitely report back, and do more research before my next purchase. Samsung will be hard pressed to get any more of my business.
I would say Samsung makes a high quality refrigerator that I can trust this brand. I never have any problem with Samsungs refrigerator, temperature, frozen foods, ice-cream, vegetables, beverages. Im able to store them in the fridge without any worries. After being used for like a little over a year, the fridge still works like the first day that I purchased it. Performance and quality both still work perfectly.
We purchased a package deal at hhgregg in November 2015 including a Microwave Oven, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, and Gas Range. We are not at all satisfied with the range. We had the range service twice in August 2016 due to inaccurate temperature control. Each time they replaced the thermostat, and the also the control board on the second visit.Believing this was an anomaly and no need purchase an extended warranty, we let the warranty expire in November. In February 2017, we began to experience the same issues. The temperature would not stay within the prescribed/published range, the oven would not light when following the proper use methods, and despite following the directions in the manual, the problem persisted. We contact the service department and they sent a tech on March 2, 2017. He had never seen the problem we were experiencing before, contacted tech support and they told him to replace the control board. So now I must wait another week for the board to arrive and be installed. The warranty is expired and despite my protest that they replace the board in August, and it correct failure should be covered, they refuse to do so. Now it cost me $90 for the assessment and another $90 for the next installation service call plus the $150-$200 for the board. When I contacted Samsung they said sorry, nothing they could do. So my message to Samsung, Go to hell. I will bad mouth your product line until I take my last breath. Planned obsolescence is no way to build a future in the U.S. market. We are not fools.
Just purchased less than one year ago. After 3 months the freezer frosts my things so badly I cant identify what is what. Then the ice maker stops making ice from time to time. I called and they sent out a service guy. He said it was normal. I accepted that but then it got worse. I called Samsung cust. service and sent them pictures. They said I would be able to get a replacement fridge. They gave me a reference number to give to Best Buy. I did that and Best Buy said the number did not work. Whatever that meant. Since then I have called every month for 5 months and they always give me a bogus number. Yesterday I called again and they said I would be getting a call from their executive customer service center within the hour with a correct number. I never heard from them. Samsung has lied and lied to me and given me the runaround. I will never buy a Samsung product again.
We bought an RF267 series refrigerator. And like many on this site, we started to experience problems with the ice maker right away. It only makes ice when it feels like it. Sometimes we will go for a couple of months without any ice, and then it starts to make ice with no warning. Most of the time it just makes clunking and popping noises. This has gone on for a couple of years and after reading about all of the other problems, I am afraid to have it repaired. It seems I am lucky compared to most of you. I also have two Samsung TVs that after just a couple of years experienced pixel problems and then just simply wont power up when the power button is pressed. I can safely say that I wont buy another Samsung product.
On May 7, 2015 our Samsung refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling, and all our food was spoiled. The unit was under warranty so I contacted Samsung but they refused to honor their warranty. It took twenty days of emailing product support, service request, phone calls and live chats between Samsung and I, for them to finally send someone to look at the unit. It took another seven days for a repair man to show up with a replacement part to fix it. We went almost a month without a fridge. The working fridge only lasted a few days before it failed to cool again and I lost what I had stored in my fridge, again. A technician was able to mend the problem. But just a few days later it gave out again. Every time this unit failed I lost most of the food in the fridge. The Samsung authorized repairman doesnt even want to deal with my fridge and tells us to deal with Samsung. Samsung just sends us around in circles between their support pages. I have most of the emails and phone calls documented and saved.
We purchased this microwave (SMH1987ST) in July 2010 and never had a problem until a month ago. The microwave would just come on by itself randomly, usually in Baked Potato mode. Only opening the door would shut it off. It was terrifying because I had no confidence in leaving home or sleeping at night with it plugged in. I googled this issue and found common complaints of the same nature on many different forums, a good bit of them here. I then called Samsungs customer service line and got the run-around that it was no longer under warranty and theyd send a tech but it was on me. I then posted on their Facebook page with the issue and was told to call back and ask for the Executive Customer Service team. When I did, I got a little pushback on being put through to them but eventually was. I told the Exec team representative the issue, that they knew about it and that there were over 300 complaints on this website alone. That seemed to get their attention. They sent out a tech last week, he ordered the part and came back today and installed a new control board free of charge. He did say he frequently sees this same issue or the one where people get the dreaded SE message and the microwave panel doesnt work at all. My advice is to be firm and use social media to get their attention. They WILL make it right when pressed to do so. I never would have pursued it further had I not seen other posters say that asking for their Legal Dept. or mentioning the bad reviews got them satisfaction.
SMH9207ST - We bought this microwave and refrigerator from Lowes. We didnt get an SE error but 4 of my major button stopped working, (the power level, clock, kitchen timer, and the 0) buttons wont push in. Samsungs CS was awful, made me feel like I was to blame. We were 2 days off our warranty and had to pay for service. I wouldnt have paid $400 for a disposable microwave. $50 at Walmart and the thing will last forever. I WILL NEVER BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES AGAIN. Now the $2,400 refrigerator we got as well constantly thaws my freezer and refrigerator gets warm, so aggravated. I couldve bought American and would last me longer than a year!!!!
Samsung stove burners are defective!!! Once burners are utilized on high, you cannot turn down burner to low to keep food warm - you must remove pan from burner, turn burner completely off and wait for heat to dissipate before putting back on low and returning pan to burner. You cant walk away for any length of time as pans burn on high!! I am buying a coil burner to cook on as All stoves are built this way. Make sure if you are buying new to get a coil or old fashion stove rather than glass top - although they look great and clean easy, they SUCK!!!
I own a Samsung Refrigerator model RT33FARZASP/TL, purchased two and half years ago. The refrigerator bears 10 years warranty which is not cooling at all. I lodged a complaint with Samsung customer care, they sent their representative who said gas of the refrigerator has leaked out and I have to pay for the visiting charges and gas filling charges plus parts. When I said, its under warranty, he said warranty is only for compressor. I argued gas remains in the compressor only, and if it has leaked that means the compressor is not good but he didnt accept my argument and insisted to pay the cost of repair. Gas filling will be done by them on 30.04.2017. Earlier I had been using other brands, normally they work 10-15 years flawless.
Please do not purchase this refrigerator. I purchased this refrigerator and did not have it for two years before the ice maker went out, which was the start of the problems. I called Samsung for repair and they sent a repair tech out and he replaced the front panel with the touch buttons. I asked, would that cause the ice maker to stop functioning? And he said yes. So it began to make ice for about 6 months then the ice maker stop making ice again along with the freezer going out. So, I called Samsung again and they sent another repair tech out and he replaced the motherboard which did not fix the issue. So I called Samsung again and they sent out another repair tech this time. He went into the freezer and replaced a small cable and told me that it should be fine for 24 to 48 hrs. So, this did not fix the problem which completely made me upset with the refrigerator and regret ever buying Samsung brand and will never purchase another product other than a cell phone. Clearly, they need to get out of the refrigerator business.
Drives me crazy, repaired once at less than 2 years old, considering the price we paid Im disgusted. The doors have to be forced shut, as they dont close automatically. Butter holder doesnt hold a pound of butter! Shelves barely adjust and certainly not efficient. Water seems to pool in vegetable bins. To make matters worse the fridge and in particular the freezer is always covered in weird patterns as if the moisture is escaping somehow to just under the stainless steel. Will never ever purchase a Samsung anything again and I think Ill stick to low end because it seems like everything breaks down after 2 years regardless of the price.
I purchased this fridge because it was the best looking fridge on display at Lowes. I know now dont buy something based on looks. We had problems before we ever got it on. The ice maker didnt work on it as soon as we got it moved in. It was still under warranty then so they sent out a repair man to install a whole new freeze door because the ice maker is in the door. Even the repair man said they have more calls on Samsung than any other fridge. FYI, he said that Whirlpool is the best one to buy. We bought the whole kitchen set; hopefully, the rest last a little longer than the fridge. Needless to say, I will never buy Samsung again. Horrible product.
I bought my Samsung French Door fridge November of 2013. The ice maker has frozen up several times and has cost $700-$1000 to thaw. Its because the door flap gets turned in and you cannot tell the doors didnt shut. Samsung could replace the flap on the door with one that would latch like the newer models. Samsung needs to get out of the appliance business. Read the reviews. Their appliance products are terrible.
Word to the wise.. Never buy kitchen appliances from Sears as they have no service department. Their service work is subbed out to other companies. When you call them for service work you will be talking to someone who sounds like he or she is from Pakistan or Korea. They are extremely expensive and you have to work around their schedule. I have owned a new SAMSUNG Refrigerator for less than five years. We purchased the three-year warranty when we purchased it, but it did us no good as the Refrigerator quit working and couple of months, after the warranty expired. The unit started to make a clicking noise and then it quit cooling. The service guy shows up after going through the circus of getting him out there to tell us that the unit is frozen and he sees this issue quite often. He charges me $225.00 to defrost the frozen motor and he tries to sell me another one year warranty for $300 plus dollars. Its now 13 months later and we are experiencing the same symptoms. The fan motor starts the clicking noise and the unit quits cooling. I called Samsung to let them know what was going on and to see if they help me out because of the lemon that I purchased from them. They were not willing to work with me in any way. I have a KitchenAid refrigerator outside that I have owned for ten plus years and I havent had the first problem with the unit. I am done with the Korean Samsung Products.. Buy American made products!!
We bought our French Door refrigerator less than 4 years ago, for $1,500 from Best Buy, and it has already broke down. We tried to find someone to come fix it and the cost would be more than buying a new fridge. So we bought a Whirlpool from Home Depot for $600 (no frills this time) and hopefully it will last longer. We will never buy a Samsung Appliance again, complete JUNK! They should stick to cell phones.
We bought a Samsung side by side 25.6 CU FT refrigerator on 5-6-10 (serial # JJ5Z4GBZ400545J; model # RS261MDBP). We didnt have it a full year when he had to call for a repair service man to come out because the unit wasnt cooling and all the lights on the panel were all lit up. Something in the panel went out and had to be ordered. Then the last week in December we were having a birthday party and we had a house full of guests and had to buy 6 coolers for the party food as well as all the food we already had and I was never so embarrassed in my life as all my guest had to keep going out in the cold to the coolers for their drinks because the unit wasnt cooling and the freezer wasnt freezing. So I called service department again on January 3rd. After two service appointments, it was determined the mother board had to be replaced. So on 1-17-12 it was replaced and as of 1-21-12 the unit is still not working. I have another service appointment for 1-23-12. I have lost $300.00 in groceries because of this and have to buy ice and use a cooler in January in the winter no less and I have to go to the store daily to buy dinner, which is very costly not to mention very time consuming. I have two elderly and 5 babies under the age of 5 and that is so inconveniencing them as well as the rest of the family members and very costly. This is the absolute worse experience we have ever had. I will never again purchase any Samsung products and will tell everyone about this horrible, embarrassing, very costly experience.
The SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR RF260BEASR/AA unit I purchased on 11/2015 has the same leaking problems under the crisper drawer that other Samsung models have. I searched the internet and discovered other people have the same issue and upon contacting Samsung they advised its out of warranty and I will be charged $80.00 trip charge and $80.00 per hour service charge. Another design flaw my unit has is the freezer drawer dumps ice to the bottom of the freezer when its opened. Maybe a class action lawsuit needs to be started.
Weve had a Samsung French Door fridge RF323TEDBSR/AA for almost 3 years (still relatively new). And on replacing the water filter, the filter port began to drip leak with or without the filter. Because it was out of the 1 year warranty, we had to pay $158 parts and $130 labor to replace the entire filter port. The repair guy said that it was because we used an aftermarket (HomeDepot) filter. But comparing the replacement and original, the parts were identical. I think this is just poor quality construction in the water filter port. I would definitely think twice before purchasing another Samsung fridge.
DO NOT BUY Samsung French Door fridges! I have almost $3000 invested in a fridge that gave little, annoying problems at first, but as soon as the VERY SHORT warranty was up, the ice maker problems got worse and worse... Dripping water out of the ice maker flapper door, slushy ice cubes, ice dams in the ice maker itself, taking 1 minute or so to drop out 3-5 ice cubes, odd noises, not making ice at all... You name it.I tried to get a repairman, but no one returned my calls--then I discovered from several local sellers of the Samsung French door fridges, that there are so many problems with them, that repairmen dont want to repair them at all--knowing they will never solve their clients problems. The repairmen might take the call IF the unit is still on warranty, simply because they know theyll get more and more repair calls--all paid by Samsung. Once the warranty is gone, they dont want to deal with Samsung units.Consider this: I have a new millennium fridge and I make ice the way my Mom did in the 1950s--with ice cube trays! I think these units should be recalled--these are major expenses for a family--just like buying a car that is unsafe or poorly designed--or is an outright Lemon. Samsungs reply to me was a boilerplate letter with links pasted in to their WELL KNOWN repair bulletins... Each one I had already known about and tried! Then they linked to how to get a repair ticket started, but then repeated their warranty rules. Samsung customer satisfaction? Rate that at ZERO. If you know anyone considering one of these Samsung units, steer them away--- SHARE this post. PLEASE SHARE!
Samsung has eye-catching features on their refrigerators HOWEVER as the saying goes Just because it glitters does not mean its gold! In other words JUST BECAUSE IT LOOKS FANCY DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL WORK LIKE IT SHOULD! I purchased a Samsung (Model#: RF28HFEDTBC - bottom freezer) four (4) years ago (9/2014) with a 3yr warranty. I paid over $1800 ON SALE! Now the ice is building up in the fridge ice maker and in the back unit. A technician from the Network Group technicians came out to check why my fridge was not cooling like it should. The tech told me that the ice maker has a replacement unit and this is why the fridge back panel has iced up. He said that the issue with the ice maker NOT working properly is causing the other issues. That sounds like a defective part to me! REFRIGERATORS LIFE EXPECTANCY IS MINIMUM 14yrs!He recommended that I keep the top ice maker off and only use the freezer ice maker or this will probably happen again. The technician also recommended that if I did not want to pay the $300.00 for the ice maker replacement, $150.00 for the back panel defrost/replacement of the fan, $80.00 for labor, that I could just pay the $80.00 for his 10-minute visit and unplug the fridge for minimum 3-5 days to allow it to defrost myself. I have been without a fridge for a week now trying to make sure the ice has fully defrosted. My cooler with bags of ice is keeping my food colder than that SAMSUNG! Maybe I should have got a mini fridge and an ice chest! Anything would have been better than this SAMSUNG refrigerator! I will NEVER buy a SAMSUNG product again.
I have the Samsung French Door Refrigerator model RF217 series. It is 2 years old and the water is pooling under the vegetable bins and inside the bins. I called the customer service and of course, it is not under warranty. The repair person they recommend wants $180 to look at the refrigerator plus parts which could be anywhere from $20 to $250 depending on the problem. How can so many people have this problem and the company state there is design flaw. They should have a recall. I will never purchase anything from this company ever.
This is a horrible product (model #RS2530BBP). We purchased it in 2008. We have had nothing but problems. First, the ice maker has never worked right. We had it worked on so much that they extended my 1 year warranty by a few months just because I complained so much. We have also had trouble with the compressor fan. Its been replaced once and will have to be again. At this point, I am considering getting a lawyer and taking legal action since I dont have money to blow on a new fridge.
I have the same thing that happened to other Samsung owners in the reviews. We bought a Samsung dishwasher a year ago at Home Depot. As soon as it was hooked up, it wouldnt work. Samsung called in a repairman and he said it was fixed. But dishwasher comes on automatically on the heavy cycle and does a dry run but doesnt shut off. Called in another repair man for the same problem and he said this is happening a lot. He put on three new parts. Washer worked for five days. Woke up one night and heavy load running on a dry cycle again with no load of dishes inside, always have to turn off breaker. Have to call repair man in again. Called Samsung number and always put in hold. This time for over 45 minutes until a guy told me that not many workers there on Friday afternoon. If they have that many complaints coming in, then must be something wrong with the company. I would suggest before you buy, call any appliance call the companys 800 number. If put on hold for a long time, dont buy that appliance. What do I want... A new dishwasher and cost to install and a staff available to customers to listen To all of us with complaints. If I bought a new car and it broke it would be fixed. If I buy a new appliance and it doesnt work as soon as I buy it... Well what would be a reasonable answer? Please need help!
My hardwood floor is damaged - second time in two months! We found water puddling up on the right side facing the fridge. In searching for the source, we found a small puddle inside the fridge on the right side just under the large cold-cut drawer. On further inspection and upon taking the drawer out, we found a solid thick block of ice! In fact, it was very difficult to remove the drawer. We thought we were breaking something! That was two months ago. The Samsung authorized repairman told us that the back panel was frozen, we would have to turn the fridge off for 2 days and then he would come back, take the panel off and maybe find what was causing our problem. How do you store all your cold food for two days? Well, he said our fridge was too cold and that we caused the problem! Well, two months later the fridge was at recommended temp and the same problem happened again. Now, we find its a design problem and Samsung is sending out a bulletin to their authorized repair people in two weeks!
I have been sitting here on hold for about 40 minutes waiting to speak to a manager to find where my refrigerator is. Samsung has delivered two - and both were damaged. They tried to delivered a third which was supposed to be here two days ago. At this point, no one at Samsung knows where that delivery is; when it will be here; or even acts like they know whats going on. This has been going on for three weeks and I still do not have a fridge. This customer service is the worst - second only to Vivint Security. I am going to get my money back and I will never buy another Samsung product again for the rest of my life.
I bought a French Door, 2 drawer blue stainless Samsung refrigerator Model # RF25HMEDBSG 19 months ago. The icemaker started freezing up immediately after the 12 month warranty expired. I have deiced the icemaker 4 times in the last seven months. This week the fan in the back started making noise because it was rubbing on an ice buildup in the coils. This isnt what I expected when I laid out $ 2,088 for what I thought was a quality product. I didnt think I would need an extended warranty to cover the first three years. Wrong!! I looked at a YouTube video which saved me a service call which would have cost about $300 from Dish. What I learned was that there is a way to do a manual defrost for the coils that is not in the Users Manual. Empty your refrigerator. On my model, press the top item on the left side of the display which is Freezer and the middle item on the right side which is Lighting and hold for 12 seconds. It will go through a series of displays and stop on the last which is FD for Fast Defrost. This activates the heating elements to defrost the coils. It beeps for 30 or 40 minutes then stops which I assume means that the defrost is complete. I carefully defrosted the icemaker with a heat gun on low from a distance. That was 3 days ago and I have icemaker ice and no fan noise. We shall see how long it holds up. The YouTube showed an older model but by pressing the SAME LOCATIONS on the display twelve seconds, FF came up and he had to press a function three or four times until the Fast Defrost FD started. Use at your own discretion. I hope this saves you some repair $$.
First and foremost, Samsung does not have a clue when it comes to customer service. Theyre blinded by their policies. As a matter of fact, they have a department that goes by the name of Executive Customer Relations (ECR) which is intended to be there to help with escalated issues and even the manager of this department who goes by the name of Prosper, admitted to me that there is nobody in the company that we, as customers, can speak to that has the ability to determine if a replacement product or refund should be made. You may let this be a warning, if you are reading this, that Samsung truly does not have customer service support if you come across any major issues with your products. We have had our Samsung refrigerator for only 3 months and within the first 3 days we had our first service call for a defective water system. Then 2 months later the same issue and another major issue occurred and they plan to take our entire unit apart, and rebuild a brand new unit. I bought a brand new unit and do not wish to have a rebuilt unit as anyone in my shoes would feel. Unfortunately because they do not have a person who can help, I want to be sure that you, the consumer, has the chance to be forewarned about the reality of the customer service in this company. At the end of the day, there are multiple reviews about Samsung quality issues and service issues. Trust what you read as I wish I did when I was shopping for this. I love their TVs as I have a few and have not had issues, but their appliances are not their strong point. Just be careful with Samsung and really think about if you want to deal with this. They have only 1 star on this Consumer Affairs page, which should speak for itself.
My freezer stopped freezing & I called a repair man to fix it (Samsung is a hard company for repair people to deal with and there are very limited people that work on them). Upon looking at it he told me that it was leaking Freon (which should never happen on this unit because its sealed). He charged me $90 and suggested that I call Samsung and explain to them to see if they would help me because it would be a lengthy repair and it could cost $400 and to top it off there may be no way to located the leak if its too small to patch. So, I called Samsung and after several calls & several supervisors I got them to set up an appointment with A&E Factory repairs - to which they didnt show up for that appointment. Samsung called them again & set an appointment for later the same day - to which they did not show up again. Again Samsung called them (this time I required a 3 way call) & set up another appointment (for another day). The A&E Factory repair guy came, pulled the freezer out & determined that it was in fact leaking. He ordered the parts & two weeks later the repair guy came. He said he could not work on the unit because I had laminate flooring & he requested that I sign a waiver. I refused & they left. I then called to reset another appointment for three weeks later (after my vacation) and was told that that date wasnt available yet, Id have to call back next week.Samsung has not helped me with my freezer issue and I am not happy at all with their product or the warranty repair service. I will NEVER buy another Samsung product in my life! Repair people dont want work with Samsung products. Their Customer Service sucks! They use A&E Factory repair (Their Customer Service sucks!).
RF28HFEDBSR/AA: The ice maker worked good for about a year. After a year ice maker freezes up and ice cubes clogs up. This happens at least once a month. Then it takes 3/4 days to unclog. We had new ice maker put in but it didnt help. Its a beautiful refrigerator - too bad it doesnt have a good ice maker. There needs to be a recall.
We bought our Samsung fridge with icemaker in 2015 and loved the design for storage. We had several issues with defrosting and the fridge developing ice and the back and freezing food. We started to take a day once a year to defrost it over 24 hours and it worked for a couple years but we called it this year. It froze up again (early this year) and we defrosted it again but it never got back to properly keeping our food cool but not frozen. Our local repair person told us he wouldnt waste our time because hes gone to service Samsung fridges many times and bought new parts but it never helped. When we had our new fridge delivered the delivery person commented that theyve removed mostly Samsung fridges from peoples homes. They look good but not worth it. Ours lasted 6 years! Thats not long for over $2,000.00. Not to mention the environmental impact!
I had written earlier regarding Samsungs positive response for my request for service but they performed even better when I encountered additional service problems. The service tech they selected wasnt responding to my efforts to do the job. I called Samsung and reported the delay. After that call, they called me every day to determine if the rep had set up an appointment and offered to give the job to a different technician. I asked for another service center and they set it up and in 2 days, the microwave had the control panel replaced at no cost. The service rep was timely, called me in advance and finished the job in less than 10 minutes. Best effort by a major company ever!
What hasnt gone wrong. The latest problem is the handle on the freezer drawer. It keeps coming off. There are two bolts that screw into the freezer drawer that the handle attaches to. The problem is, the refrigerator has a latent known defect in which the threaded piece inside the drawer the bolt screws into breaks off inside the drawer. This is clearly a latent defect with the manufacturing of the product. Samsung considers this a cosmetic issue. Huhhhh, they would not honor the repair and wanted me to purchase another warranty. We have had many other issues like the ice machine, water filter and so on. I am so done with Samsung – a crappy product, bad service. Dont buy.
Our fridge is not 2 years old. Within the warranty period it started making really loud, scare the dogs, popping noises and the water dispenser began dripping. Samsung claimed this was normal. This continued and after 3-4 calls to Samsung with no change in their response the 1 year warranty expired. The ice machine went out 2 days after the warranty expired and we called Samsung once again and were told they needed to send someone out.Service repair company came out and told us this is a known Samsung issue and they wont do anything about it and we would have to purchase an additional warranty to the tune of $475.00 to have this covered. They made what repairs they could and said it would probably not work. Needless to say, the repair did not work and weve had issues with the ice machine and dripping water dispenser for almost 2 years now. Samsung refuses to address this issue. I will never buy a Samsung product again and suggest that no one else does. I have several friends with similar model refrigerators and they have the same frustrating issues.
This is ongoing problem since more than one month. I called Trail Appliances technician. First visit the technician said “problem with your filter” – totally wrong diagnosis. Second time the technician came he tried for 1 hr – no clue and he said will come again. Third time he came and he thinks it might be control panel (but he is not sure). When I talk to manager he said max the part cost will be $250 and they ordered the part even without my concern. Now parts came to their branch and was waiting for their call. When no call came I called them and they said we called on May 20/2016. No one has replied. Was just wrong. Now the part value is $500. Almost doubles. The customer service is very unprofessional from Trail Appliances. I feel like they are looting. With this problem there was a flooding on my floor and the wooden floor get damaged. Ceiling in basement also get damaged and estimated expense of $15000 for this faulty Samsung French door refrigerator and the technician they dont have a clue whats wrong. Talk to Samsung but they are also not cooperative and the worst service I have received from Samsung and Trail Appliances. Not sure what to do next. Any comments from these affairs guys?
There has been a class action suit filed against Samsung related to damages caused as a result of the poorly designed ice maker in side by side refrigerator/freezers and the resulting leaks. Repairs are now being made for free for some models made within specific dates. Our particular model is a part of the suit but not for the date on which ours was produced. However, the technician who came to make the repair stated that its the most common call he receives. Our ice maker leaks, the line freezes and the ice maker must constantly be reset. The ice maker must be totally replaced. No costs are covered so this is a $700.00 cost to us. This will be the last Samsung product that we purchase.
In July 2012, we had to buy a new refrigerator because the compressor on the old one died. We usually buy appliances from Best Buy but now appliances have been taken over by Pacific Sales. We got their cheap extended warranty and, to this day, the ice maker has failed to function properly. Warranty was called and out of the 4 times, they paid 3 and the last one I had to fight the warranty company (Warren Tech the worst company to deal with) because I kept saying that the ice maker isnt functioning properly because every month the ice builds up and no ice comes out. Samsung will not even help because the manufacturers warranty is over and the problem is now the warranty companys problem. If anyone else has had a problem with their Samsung ice maker please tell us what we could do to have the ice maker function the way it should.
After a year went up on this fridge I have had to replace ice maker and other parts, and Samsung will not do anything about it. Will never buy a Samsung product again!!! My model number is rs261mdbp, now the rubber tube that water comes in to fill ice tray freezes solid and I have to thaw it out to bust ice block off. This picture is of tube after I got ice broke off. Need help to sue Samsung.
On Feb.16, 2009, we purchased a 30 Samsung electric stove AND a 5 year warranty. Almost immediately, we knew we had a problem. We spent the entire 5 years of warranty, having repairmen from A & E Factory Service (Sears) come put bandaids on this very expensive stove ($1508 without the warranty cost). When the extended warranty ran out in February of 2014 the stove had all the same problems it had as a new stove. Since then, I always set the temperature too high (because it never reaches the temperature I set it at). I bought a good oven thermometer to put in the oven which I watch by shining a flashlight through the glass in the oven door, adjusting the temperature throughout the baking period. You see, I cant trust the oven to go to the temperature I need. The beeper that is supposed to tell you when the oven is hot enough to bake your food beeps when the oven is at least 100 degrees lower than I have set it for. This oven has ruined so many things I have tried to bake, including a ham that I served partly raw without realizing it. NEVER BUY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS!! I seriously cringe when I see full page ads for Samsung appliances. I will NEVER buy another one. But think of all those poor people who WILL! (We purchased the stove from a store in Loveland Colorado called Ji and Daves Appliance, Inc. which is no longer in business).
We have had a leak in the water everytime you use the crushed ice--cannot get it to stop, now the water works and no ice---I notice this is an ongoing problem with this Samsung RF23HCEDBS/AA Bottom Freezer. I have them coming out to fix this and it is 2 years old so it is out of warranty. I have seen that it may cost up to $600.00 to repair this, well we paid over $2,000 for this fridge and if it costs me that much I will dump it and buy a new one but never again a Samsung! This is very frustrating and when I tell them that this is an ongoing issue based on the reviews all they say from whatever country they are answering from thank you sir. Must be the first thing they teach them in India answering the phone!
Purchased a Samsung 800 series dishwasher from a local outlet store. It started smelling (like rotten decomposing food) within a month of purchase. We have tried vinegar and other odor control pods to get rid of the smell to no avail. When the door is open, we can wipe a paper towel along the interior edge and come up with a grey stinky slime. After cleaning and disinfecting, both the smell and slime return within two loads. Very frustrating. Regret getting rid of our old white 1990s model for this pretty, stinky stainless steel upgrade.
Called Samsung technician to repair leaking refrigerator. Every time it went into defrost mode it would leak water, a little when I first purchased it, then much worse. Refrigerator is nearly two yrs old, so is out of warranty. I am a retired Engineer, so did some reading and found the problem to be a smaller than required heat sink (Samsung calls it a drain clip). This heat sink is suppose to keep the defrost drain from frosting up. Took technician 30 minutes to replace this part with the correct size. Per tech, he gets a lot of this work. Here is my problem, should a company like Samsung be charging the consumer for their design flaw? The cost was $173, part cost was $10 dollars.Called Samsung ECR (Executive Customer Rep), explained that this was not a repair or a fix, but a correction to a design flaw. I thought Samsung would want to stand behind their product, but all she would say was that it was out of warranty. The model # RF263BEAESP/AA. There must be thousands of these out there with this known design flaw. I hope this review helps someone if they are looking for a new refrigerator. Needless to say, I wont be buying any Samsung products in near future.
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator, (Model #RS22HDHPNBC), June 16th, 2017 from Home Depot. The purchase price at that time was $2059.74. This was the second purchase of the same Samsung model which indicates that I was moderately pleased with the first refrigerator. Exactly one year and twenty days from the purchase date, July 6th, 2018, both the freezer and refrigerator stopped functioning. On July 6th, 2018 I contacted Samsung Customer Care to report the problem. I received an email from Customer Care notifying me of the assigned ticket number and an authorized service center. On July 11th the service center, Lakes Electronics, made the first service call to address the problem. It was determined the u/v dryer should be replaced and said part was ordered. On July 13th the repairman returned to replace the u/v dryer and recharge the system. On Tuesday, July 17th I noticed neither the refrigerator or freezer sections were adequately cooling. On July 19th the Lakes Electronics repairman returned and determined the evaporator should be replaced. He ordered the part and indicated it should be in the following week. He advised us that he would be on vacation and we chose to wait on his return for installation since he was familiar with all that had previously transpired. He was to return the week of July 30th. On July 20th the repairman texted me and informed me he had spoken to his office about ordering the evaporator and all should be ready for installation upon his return. On Monday, July 30th I was informed that Lakes Electronics did not have the part. Wednesday, August 1st I was told the evaporator would be delivered to the service center by Thursday the 2nd of August in the afternoon. On Saturday, August 4th the Lakes representative came to install the evaporator. He discovered the wrong part had been shipped from the Samsung warehouse and it would be necessary to reorder the part. Wednesday, August 8th the part was delivered to Lakes Electronics warehouse in Gainesville at 10:57 AM. On Thursday, August 9th the repairman returned to my home to install the reordered evaporator. On Friday, August 10th I noticed the unit was not sufficiently cooling or freezing and notified the repairman. On Tuesday, August 14th the repairman made another service call to conduct additional tests. He then determined the refrigerator was not repairable and furnished me with an exchange number, (**), furnished by Samsung. Wednesday, August 15th I called the Customer Care department and spoke to Linda. I was told I had no recourse since the refrigerator was just over one year old even though the sealed refrigeration system has a five (5) year warranty by Samsung. If the unit is deemed to be not repairable by your authorized service representative I would argue that it should be replaced or a refund issued under the coverage specified by the warranty on the sealed refrigeration system.I am extremely disappointed in Samsungs lack of concern and failure to stand behind their warranty. I have not even mentioned that I was without use of a refrigerator for 38 days due to the inefficiency of the staff or the service center. I can assure you that Samsung has lost a customer, (three major Samsung products), and I will no longer recommend any of Samsung products to anyone.
Samsung helpline said popping noises from my refrigerator (RF4267HARS) are normal. Im sorry but the popping noises are SO loud they cant be normal. Its like a firecracker going off every hour. Had repairman in. He said my fridge works and I should just accept the noise. Spent a lot on my fridge and will never buy another.
I purchased a 4 door Samsung refrigerator 18 months ago 01-21-17. The icemaker is defective, per the technician that indicates this is a known issue and not a recall, but basically the water spatters as it fills the ice maker, causing frost to build up, and eventually freezing the fan. This leads to melting of the ice and re-freezing and more frost and eventually locks up the entire ice maker. In some cases the ice builds up so quickly that you cant get the ice drawer out. This is not a gasket or seal issue. The issue is caused by a poorly designed water filling process that eventually fails, so if you want to piss away $2800 buy this RF23J9011SR piece of junk.
The fan began making loud noises and I called a repair man assuming that it was an interior problem and would be covered by the 5 year warranty. The Samsung refrigerator model RF263BEASR is slightly over two years old. It turns out that the fan must be replaced plus the fan cover. The Samsung person said that it wasnt under warranty so I am stuck with a $390 bill. I have had Sub Zeros that have lasted years without a problem. This is a huge disappointment and I would definitely not buy another Samsung appliance.
After just two years, like many others on this site, our Samsung SMH9187ST over the oven microwave that we bought for over $300.00 started beeping with an SE code. Now nothing works. I have little faith that Samsung will stand behind their products given what I have read here. If it is a choice between repairing the unit at my own cost and buying a new unit, I will buy a new unit, but it wont be another Samsung.
I bought my Samsung refrig in 2011 from Lowes and it needed repairs 3 times. First the control panel on door did not work. Second time it was a coil for the defrost. Third time it was a new motherboard. Now this is the fourth time and its doing the same thing. This item cost around $3000. I have lost thousands in food and waited weeks for parts. I want this to be replaced! Im at my wits end. Next step is BBB. I did buy the extended warranty from Lowes, but it will expire in January and then Im stuck with a lemon. Samsung, stick to tvs.
No working fridge for 4 months and counting. I purchased the Samsung 22.3 Cu Ft counter deep Side-by-side refrigerator with thru the door ice and water - stainless steel. Model RS22HDHPNSR on March 21st, 2015. This fridge was to be the center piece of my kitchen renovation. It was my one big shiny splurge, costing me $2100. My fridge worked fine from March 2015 until November 2016, when it stopped compressing cold air. Since the parts were still under warranty Samsung agreed to have technicians from A&E electrical come to my home in Northern California SIX times over a period of FOUR months to replace the compressor, a 4-way valve and a motherboard. They have also reduced the pressure on something and then the next time increased the pressure on that same part. According to my calculations Samsung has paid over $1400 to fix my fridge, which is inefficient for this company and extremely frustrating and time-consuming for me. Each time a technician comes to my home they try to fix it and they cant. When a technician does come to my home it is not trivial. I have to take time away from work and wait for them to arrive over a 4 hour period (9 am to 1 pm or 1 pm to 5 pm). There have been two occasions when the technician had to reschedule because he had overbooked his schedule and one occasion when the technician just didnt turn up and didnt even call to reschedule. When the technician does actually turn up and has attempted to fix my fridge and failed, I immediately call Samsung and then have to explain my situation all over again. I then have to wait for another 2-3 weeks before a technician can come out again. And then the same thing happens all over again! Im at the point now where I have had the fridge finally deemed as unrepairable by a technician and have sent in my proof of purchase and the technicians report to executive customer services by email. Ive also threatened to take legal action if I am not compensated immediately because 4 months without a fridge and two young boys is physically and mentally quite miserable. For me $2100 is just too much money to throw away so I have no choice but to keep fighting this corrupt company. I am very disappointed that Samsung customer service have threaded me along for so long.
1 month after warranty ran out dishwasher gave me error codes. After fixing 1 month later more error codes. Can not afford to keep fixing machine.
All of the negative reviews are true. This ice build up problem is real. I’ve had it fixed twice in 3 years since I bought it. Our washing machine has been shaking and making weird noises as well as the dryer. The dishwasher started leaking right before I started this review which led me to write it to warn people not to buy Samsung appliances. 3 years and nothing but headaches. I have a 20 year old Frigidaire refrigerator in my basement and it works better than my new one. Shame on you Samsung for not helping your consumers. I will never buy Samsung again.
I bought a Samsung French Door refrigerator (model #: R-260B EAEBC) back in Jan of 2015. It keeps leaking water under the large vegetable drawer and down onto my floor through the freezer. My ice maker is totally inconsistent and when it does drop ice, its very noisy. Samsung insists that it is NOT a manufacturing issue and refused to cover the cost of having anyone sent out to service it. Im furious with them, considering how much I paid for that refrigerator. I finally submitted a class action law suit against them.
Ive had the Samsung Chef Collection WaterWall Dishwasher for less than 1 year. When the new appliance suite (range, fridge, microwave, & dishwasher) were to be installed, the dishwasher did not work on day 1. They said it was electrical & ordered a new one. A few weeks later the new one was put in. I swear to God you need to wash the dishes before you put them in to be washed. I found out later that there is no heater in the unit to keep the water to temperature. The repair man told me to run the hot water in my sink before turning on the dishwasher, that may help. SERIOUSLY? My $1,600 dishwasher needs the sink water to run? Now Im 10 months in, loaded the dishwasher & nothing. No power again. Fuse is fine. Waiting for repair man to show.
