My experience with my Viking has been great so far. I enjoyed the guy who sold it to me at Finwood Appliances. Its so much better than KitchenAid for about the same price. I like the way it looks and it feels well-made. Ive had a stainless steel refrigerator before and I was constantly having to get fingerprints off. The Viking is better at not showing fingerprints. I also like the freezer and that there is no water dispenser because then I dont have water drips all over the front of my refrigerator. I just have a pitcher and I keep it in my refrigerator now for water. Thats cleaner.

My daughter-in-law has a Viking Range and I know that it performs well compared to other company. I love its very accurate cooking, the jets are very powerful and water boils quite quickly. Im just happy with the overall performance. Plus the Viking dealer was very thorough. Theyre just very straightforward and honest about things. They showed a lot of attention when I was there shopping and trying to find that information. Delivery was on time, everything was installed properly and the range itself performed very well.

We bought our range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator from Viking. Im not too happy with the refrigerator as weve had an issue from the very beginning when wherein we would get constant beeping. It gives an FR2 error code and beeps and beeps. We close and open it but its constant. Plus, the refrigerator is deceiving as its really big but kinda small on the inside. So, it doesnt fit a lot of things. It doesnt give me water either. We also had an issue with our range. Still, Viking fixed that quickly. The purchase process for my refrigerator was fine and the delivery went okay. Its a nice looking refrigerator.

I was looking for a larger stove, a 36 or a 48, and I wanted one with 6 burners. I looked around and I bought a Viking range. We love it. It would be hard to have a cheaper range now and to go to something without all the features that this one has. The burners are very hot and the oven is huge. The only thing is it would have been nice if it was a self-cleaning oven because I’m lazy.

I have a lot of problems with Viking. The oven is really loud. When you set the temperature for 300, it goes to 300, and then it tries to go on and off just to maintain the temperature. I can hear that on and off sound -- the clicking and the sparks -- in the living room which is a good 30 or 40 feet away. I dont know if I have a faulty unit or thats the way its built. Also, the dishwasher doesnt really clean really well. Ive looked online and at the manual. I tried to tweak things like settings and gears. I also make sure I use rinse aid and high-quality detergents but there have been some issues. One more thing was the fridge. When I set it at a temperature like 37 degrees Fahrenheit, things start freezing in the back of the fridge. If I put a jar of olives towards the back of the fridge, it gets frozen. These are very expensive appliances and theyre considered high-end, but I dont feel like I have that quality in them. Ive had a Frigidaire fridge in my garage and Ive had it for about seven years, and thats working perfectly. I dont think I would recommend Viking but that could change. Ive been meaning to contact support and once I get in touch with them and they can help me resolve these issues, I think maybe it would be different.

We like the design of the refrigerator. The range hood and the dishwasher were also included in the package which we liked. The quality is very good except that our range needed to have the boiler burner replaced through warranty which took probably three months. The technicians did everything they could. They just were waiting for the part.

We were doing a high-end kitchen renovation and there were only a few brands that were built in and have the look and were a 30-inch refrigerator column. We’ve dealt with a small appliance shop in the past that our contractor recommended. Its a family-owned business so we were quite comfortable there and got great information. They treated us well at that store and we had experience with them previously on another renovation. I wanted to buy the Viking refrigerator because it has the technology to help remove odors where the Thermador we were looking at did not. And it holds everything I needed to hold. But we’ve had a second service call for the refrigerator, so were a little uneasy right now.Theres been water leaking into the bottom of the refrigerator, so the tech came out about a month or two ago, and he found something that was wrong and fixed it. And then, they were out again today because it didnt stop leaking water. It was coming in from a different place now, so were waiting on Viking technical services to respond back to us and the appliance repair guys.Getting service is easy. We havent had to wait very long to get appointments when we’ve called. We had vacation in the middle, so we had to wait a little to get the second call put in. But theyve been good on customer service. When I called Viking customer service, it was really good. I emailed them because I was too busy to call and it took several days for them to get back. But then, they dispatched the repair people pretty quickly. The local repair service that is authorized is good so far. They even came into the newly renovated kitchen and looked around at all of the appliances and told us they could work on all of it. Theyve been pleasant and quick to show up, and easy to schedule.

Viking Ranges has been around for a while and we knew them for a long time. And we preferred Viking because of their reputation, style, and price. Their two-year warranty was also very attractive. We’re very happy with the quality of the range that we got and I really like that it has different size burners. The team at the dealership was great and they helped us out a lot.

I have a Viking four burner range with convection oven. In the 13 years I have owned this I have changed all the igniters twice, the igniter control module once and the oven door hinges twice. The latest breakdown is that the baffle under the oven floor detached due to rust, damaging the burners and ignitor. I called to make a warranty claim - Lifetime warranty against rust, it says in my owners manual. I called customer service and was advised with Viking this warranty only applies to the stainless steel parts... the parts that dont rust. Company does not stand behind their product. DO NOT BUY VIKING!!!

This house has a built-in Viking refrigerator and on the right is the all-freezer. The refrigerator is loud and the compressor was constantly running so the previous owner of this home had to have it replaced under warranty in 2016, which was only a year after he bought it. When we purchased the house in August 2017, and just before we closed escrow, he had to call Viking to get service because the temperature of the refrigerator was not keeping cold and there was a leak in the coil. The appliance is relatively new and that worries me but so far, the refrigerators been keeping cold so I’m thankful for that. But I am surprised at the compressor noise and we live in a development where the builder got Viking for all the units. I looked at several units when I was purchasing and I noticed the same noise in every kitchen because the floor plans are similar. It’s quite loud and it’s not infrequent. I even talked to the owner in one of the homes and she had changed out the Viking for a Wolf refrigerator. She said she did it because the Viking was so loud. Also, at first I was worried that there was a problem, but I looked at the freezer temperature and it’s constant at what it should be used. It just runs hard and it’s very sad to me because I’m going to end up having to replace it at some point. The refrigerators features are reasonable, but for that kind of investment, I would never buy one of this. I have an experience with a built-in Thermador and that has superior quality compared to this Viking.

We bought a home with an Italian Fhiaba refrigerator. We had a lot of problems with it and we had to replace it. It cannot be repaired and we only had a certain amount of money that the manufacturer had given us to purchase another refrigerator. The Viking was on sale and thats why I purchased it. It was not my first choice though. The drawers for produce, meats and cheese storage bins are so cheap and I was shocked at the interior for a Viking product. I was sad to lose my Italian refrigerator which was well-made and had beautiful interiors. I would not have bought the Viking refrigerator but it was at the right price, so I ended up with it. But would I buy another one? Absolutely not. We purchased a completely renovated home, and all the appliances were Vikings. The six-burner gas stove and the microwave are all okay, and they work great. But I would not recommend the refrigerator. When I knew I had to replace my previous refrigerator, I went onto several websites to read reviews, and very few of them were good. But my husband wasnt going to spend more money because we bought a house with a $10,000 refrigerator that ended up not working after two years. Even the plastic inside of a Sears Kenmore refrigerator is better. Viking has these soft close drawers for cheese and veggies, which are awful. I have to treat them with kid gloves, because Im afraid theyre going to break on me at any given moment. The company that owns Viking make commercial grade refrigerators and U-Line is one of their products. Its an amazing refrigerator. Why dont they use some of the same materials? Viking has been synonymous with high-end quality. But they really fell short on this one. Looks good on the outside, poor quality on the inside.

My Viking refrigerator meets expectations. Ive had a Sub-Zero before and it seems to be in line with my experience with Sub-Zero. I really like the pizza box feature. You could fit a whole pizza box on the shelf, which is pretty cool. I have one of those refrigerators on top and freezer on the bottom but it was fairly wide. Theres also some sort of ion sculpture. Im happy with my refrigerator. I also have the microwave, the hood, the range, and two ovens, and a dishwasher all from Viking. Ive been very happy with them. Its a well-made quality manufacturer of appliances and I would recommend Viking.

I like the look and size of my Viking Refrigerator. It works well in keeping my stuff cold. However, it leaks at the bottom and inside. Ive been with Viking back and forth numerous times. Theyve had three different service people come to my house and they dont know how to repair it. Im waiting to hear back from them because I want my refrigerator replaced. Its rusted, it has discoloration, and the inside parts, God only knows what they look like. My floor is warped and Ive had to stick Bounty paper towels under my refrigerator to absorb the water that pours out. Viking is a valuable brand and it conveys quality. Purchasing our range was super easy. We looked at a lot of local, brick-and-mortar stores here, but no one carried it. They werent carrying a lot of different things because of inventory issues with COVID. So, we ended up ordering it online through a website called Appliances Connection. We got it within six weeks. So, it was great. Install was seamless. Im pretty happy with the rebate. As far as the range itself, I like that the knob lights up and that I can change the colors on it. I like also the bronze gold colored burners. What I dont like about it is you cant keep the bronze gold color burners looking new. Theyre already discolored. So, thats frustrating. Also, in the oven, its hard to tell when its at temperature, as well as theres no broil setting, which is strange. Ive never had another without broil setting on it.

I wanted to get a Wolf Range, but my brick vent was one-quarter of an inch too big. We tried to shave it, but it wouldnt work. It had to be a 60-inch range so I went online and found Viking Ranges. They had the features that I liked, specifically the grill, the griddle, and the two separate ovens and convection current. Ive had it for a month now and its been great. I bought it from Texas Appliance and they handle the Wolf, Thermador, etc, but Viking has the best features. The racks in the oven automatically slide, unlike all the other ones where I had to pull them out. I also like the burners because they catch whatever we spill so it doesnt fall inside and its solid. The last one I had was from Garland and the stuff would drip through, so we had to lift everything up to clean it out. The quality is excellent and its worth what I paid for.

I own a heat and air company so we work on these refrigerator units and Viking is a middle-grade nice refrigerator. Then other brands, like Sub-Zero, have two pieces of refrigeration. They have a separate unit for a freezer. So I chose Viking. Besides, the floor-plan price for this unit was $7,500. I was going there thinking I was gonna spend about $17,000. But I bought this from Plugs and although this one is normally $12,000, the guy there said he would sell it to me for 7,500 bucks. I told him I didnt want a year-old model. I wanted to have a new one and he said that it was a brand new model. But I later found out that it was a year- or two-year-old unit sitting on the floor. The way it was sold to me is my only problem. But as far as the unit itself, it’s fine. I like everything about it.When we had a water leak problem, I had my son go look at it and it was bad water inlet valve. It was no big deal. But when I called the factory, they said that it was not under warranty. I told them that it was though. It was brand new and it had not been in the house for four weeks at the time. It took three months but I finally got a water inlet valve. The salesman from Plugs got involved with his Viking representative so he got it for me. However, if I have a problem tomorrow, what’s gonna happen with my warranty? I gotta call that dude back now at Plugs and ask about that. But now, I’m having a problem with everything freezing on the front shelf. It’s just on the top shelf though, where the air blows out of the evaporator. And they have a fix and it doesn’t cost me anything. I recently found out Viking actually makes a piece of duct, that I just need to call in the factory to get.

My 3 years old Viking oven start acting up. First the broiler quit working. The igniter try to light up but no flame. Now the oven is temperamental, sometimes it will work, sometimes doesnt want to work. For a three years old oven it should not be doing this. Feeling frustrated. Spend a lot of money for a lousy quality oven. Trying troubleshooting the problem but all result fails. This should be simple to fix. There is not much electronic that goes with this oven. Just switch, gas line, igniter & thermostat...what else is there.

I spent over $20,000.00 on a complete Viking appliance replacement for 15-year-old Whirlpool Gold appliances. Most expensive mistake I ever made. The dishwasher does not dry the dishes at all and the inside of the dishwasher is always wet after a cycle. The refrigerator is very noisy and the condenser fan is louder than a jet engine when running on full. Freezer items have frost on them and I can only hope it does not break down in the near future. The convection microwave does not even pop popcorn correctly (or at all) unless bag is placed on a bowl turned upside down? Convection cooktop seems to be working okay as does the oven thus far. I have had several repair calls on the refrigerator with no repairs. One repair person indicated it was supposed to be loud. Do yourself a favor and buy Kenmore Elite or something else besides Viking for 1/3 the cost and 100 times better quality. I want my Whirlpool Gold back (as well as my $20,000.00). Viking needs to wake up before they go out of business. Is there a lemon law for appliances. These are all appliance purchased in late 2013 and I am already looking to replace them all.

Its a nice refrigerator. The only thing I didn’t like was we had a repair guy here twice already for two fans and then the ice wasnt working either. The technicians were very knowledgeable and courteous. They had to order a couple of parts. The first time we had a fan that went out, it took about two months to get. But the tech rigged it up some kind of way and it was not losing any kind of coolness to it, so it stays running. It’s just made it louder. Then we just got that other fan replaced last week. The tech came out and fixed that for us. It took us about three weeks before he got that part in to get it fixed for us. So quality-wise, its not worth the price.

We wanted an all-gas oven and Viking had it. We also wanted self-cleaning, and the one we got came available with white on the front, which we wanted. The dealer was great. However, on the back of the range, we bought a separate piece for the air to come up from the oven, and it blows the burners when the oven is on and causes the burners not to be as efficient. That’s a big flaw. Because that air is blowing the burners and the flame is flickering, it takes forever to boil something. I wouldn’t recommend it because of that. If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t get it.

Viking has been on our radar for quite a long time and it was something that my wife wanted to buy again since our prior experience in another property. She liked the product and we had good luck with it. We purchased the refrigerator over a year ago and I’ve registered the warranty information in the last few months. I like the appearance of the stainless look to the refrigerator, the layout inside and its capacity. I like it much better than my refrigerator here at home. The product itself is excellent and the Viking dealer was great at selling it. However, the installation focus was not what we hoped for since we had some issues with it but we got that rectified. Viking vet on the dealers very carefully to make sure that they’re being represented well because installation will make or break someone’s view of the product sometimes. They have to make certain that they honor the warranty in case it’s ever needed and to stand behind their product.

We live in a small-town area and the closest dealer carried Viking ranges. Their rep showed me how the range worked. He had me pull the oven racks out to see how smooth and strong they worked and how the simmer on top would keep things warm but would not overcook the food. The range has five knobs. Four turns on the burners on top and one turns on the oven and sets the temperature. I like how simple it is and that it doesn’t have all the electronic gadgets in it. Also, I like the ball bearing racks in the oven and that all the burners are large burners on top.

Would NOT recommend to anyone a Viking dishwasher... Purchased Viking products for newly constructed home 2 years ago. Because it had the Viking name I thought it was a trusted brand. Lesson learned big time to do the homework prior to a purchase. My Viking dishwasher mirrors the innumerable complaints in this thread... Its loud, cycle lasts 3-4 hours (absurd), never dries OR cleans completely... and also has a funny smell. I must also mention the design internally... machines priced at 1K less are more functional and hold more.ONE MONTH AGO as I started washer it made a grinding noise. I located authorized dealer that handles Viking appliances still under warranty (mind you Houston 4th largest city in US and they have one (1) authorized dealer for entire city). It took one (1) week to get an initial appointment - tech arrived week two (2) diagnosed problem, drain pump broken and placed order for new part. Week three (3) I was phoned by authorized dealer and told part SHOULD arrive week five (5) and only given a TENTATIVE timeline as to when to expect tech to return. Needless to say I am not a happy camper, and it should not take over 5 weeks to service a dishwasher. More expensive is NOT always better and VIKING is a perfect example. My advice: DON’T BUY VIKING - do your research!!!

We installed all Viking appliances with a new house purchase, including a Viking Dishwasher that lasted for six years before it stopped working. Purchased a replacement dishwasher and it started leaking water after about 11 months. It also does not dry the dishes well and sometimes smells. It took over four months, several repair visits and complaints to BBB before Viking replaced the defective dishwasher with a new dishwasher. Barely six months later, the new dishwasher is again leaking. Contacted Viking and they scheduled for repair service with local repair dealer. Repair technician comes over about a month ago and diagnosed the issue and ordered the parts. Several weeks later, after I contacted them regarding the status of the parts, they scheduled a repair service appointment and changed the entire front door of the dishwasher. Technician ran the dishwasher for about five minutes and declares the problem fixed. Over the next few days, after running the cycle through (the dishwasher takes approximately 3-4 hours to run through a cycle), I noticed that the leak continues in the center of the dishwasher, albeit not as extensively as before the front door was changed, but definitely a noticeable leak. Contacted the local repair company who stated that I need to contact Viking directly as they have done everything Viking told them to do. Contacted Viking and I now being told they need to contact the regional service manager as to the next steps. In my previous experience, waiting on the next directive from the regional service manager took months. What I do not understand is the fact that Viking is well aware of the issue with their leaking dishwashers and they have not taken the time to find a permanent fix for the problem. I have had other dishwashers before from other brands and did not experience the issues and leaks that I am experiencing with the Viking brand. I also had an issue with my Viking refrigerator leaking 8 years ago.... They attempted to fix the leak, including sending the engineers who designed the refrigerator from Mississippi to my home to fix the problem; all to no avail. Viking ended up replacing the refrigerator when all their repair efforts failed. The replacement refrigerator has worked out fine for the most part. Cant say the same for the replacement dishwasher.Right now, the waiting game continues. I had to involve BBB the last time this happened to even get responses from Viking. I am thinking of initiating another complaint with BBB but will first give Viking a few days to see what they come up with. Not happy about the inconvenience that my family and I have been subjected to from Vikings defective products.

Ive been using Viking for the past 13 years but I dont think Im gonna buy Viking appliances moving forward. I was very happy but not anymore. I have lots of properties and in most of them are Viking. I like the design of the refrigerator but in the past three years, the refrigerators are very bad quality. They just keep breaking down and all the repair people would come in and say not to get Viking. I like too that the dishwasher can have the filter but it breaks too often. Last year, I spent over 20 grand but some stuff was on backorder. So, I told the supplier that bought one for me to put in my invoice that I bought two. Then, when I asked for the rebate, they said that I didn’t qualify because I have one invoice. Even though the guy who I bought it from said it was gonna be okay, I didnt get my rebate of 5%. They could have looked at my file and made an exception because they would be out of pocket fast and it wasnt my fault. They should have fought with the reseller, but I didn’t bother. So, theyve lost a loyal customer.

I have a large family, I cook a lot and I needed something strong and durable. I got the Viking stove and its very powerful. However, I have a problem inserting the racks. I make a cake, slide the racks out and the racks stick and go off the track. They dont slide in and out comfortably. And then, I have a vent above the stove and I have glass in the back of the stove instead of stainless steel. My husband pushed the stove too close to the glass so the first time I used the oven, the glass exploded. Also, its very busy to keep the top clean because it doesn’t have sealed burners. It has grates that I have to take in and out and steel wool in between every little crevice there on the top. I have adult sons that are slobs when it comes to cleaning so it’s an extra effort for me to keep this range clean on the top. I would have looked at something different and paid $1,000 extra and gotten a sealed burner. But I got what I got and I use S.O.S Steel Wool to keep the top clean every day. Otherwise, the stove is terrific and I like it.

I went to PC Richard and they were great to the point where I also got a Viking microwave and a wine fridge. I love pretty much everything about my range including its look and the evenness of the burners. Its easy to dictate the temperature. The oven is also easy to use. Everything so far is good.

I wouldnt recommend Viking Ranges. We got it because of the brand reputation and the style. However, we have an oven that takes about 45 to 50 minutes to preheat to 350. We called Viking Ranges and they told us who to call. Then when we called the people out here in Los Angeles who are the authorized service reps, the rep thought it was normal. The second time we called was when the rep was really informative and checked with the service tech. She confirmed that it is normal to take that long for the oven to preheat. I went right to the stores. I wish someone would confirm that sounds too long. It seems like there would be way too many complaints to get away with that. We rarely use it but aside from the oven, the range also has a range top which is great.

I have a Viking gas stove that does not turn off and continues to heat until I have to turn off the electric at the circuit breaker. I have had this repaired just a few weeks ago and it is happening again. I have been waiting for a call back from Viking since Monday and this is dangerous. My husband has called many times daily. The oven thermometer read over 700 degrees. Viking will be responsible if something happens. Weeks without an oven is unacceptable when you pay almost $5000 for an oven. I want this fixed. If my house blows up, it is well documented that this is part of the recall and I have called you guys. Im sure the insurance company would see Viking as responsible. Unacceptable!

In Dec. 2013, I began to have an issue with my Viking Dishwasher, purchased the previous March. It made a honking noise when changing cycles. I called Viking, got the name of their local authorized service company, and had that company come out. That was visit one. Need a part. Part ordered and service rep returns (Visit two). Dishwasher apparently repaired, but malfunctions the next time I used it - this time the audible warning beep wont stop. Call the repairman, who comes back and, you guessed it, needs to order a part (Visit three). When he returns and installs the part, the beep still wont stop, so apparently it is the wrong part (This completes visit four). Today he came for the fifth time and, you guessed it, apparently the part he replaced in one of the earlier visits is broken.Compounded the fact that I have been without a dishwasher for seven weeks is the terrible response I get when I try to contact Viking. The only time I was able to reach the company easily was in December. Since then, I am rerouted, given the wrong person, put on hold, etc. More important, apparently Viking has moved the consumer service warranty department to various locations, none of which have access to Vikings warranty records for its existing customers. I have given my serial number to three different Viking company reps over the course of my phone calls to the company, but apparently Viking either doesnt have a system that records this information or its system is not available to the reps assigned to handle customer warranty calls. Now this may make sense to someone, but that someone is not me. I do hope that my Viking fridge, range, and microwave, all purchased at the same time as the dishwasher, never malfunction. I certainly would not have bought any of these products if I had know how terrible the warranty customer interaction is.

I had my brand new Viking stove delivered on Nov. 28, 2012. I used the oven twice and, right before the holidays, around December 21st or so, my oven stopped working. Due to the holiday rush, I could only get the repairman from the store on December 26. He came, checked the stove and concluded that the spark unit needs to be replaced. Imagine that! Three weeks after the purchase, an essential part of the stove needs replacement. Today is January 7th, the store ordered the piece but Viking Company does not have it. It is on back order. The Gerhard Appliance store people have been reasonable but the Viking company has provided me with a useless appliance: a stove without a functioning oven and no part to replace the broken one. I am really angry and would never buy a Viking product again. I would like to return the stove and get my money back.

I wanted the Viking Ranges look and also wanted it for the resale value. Everybody says Viking is top of the line but its beat up and cheap. The quality was not as I expected. Ive had one for over a year now and am disappointed because Ive had cosmetic issues with it though the repairs have been great. I also have had troubles with the handles turning off. The knobs are hitting the screws that hold it going to the front panel so then I’ve got a really loud rattle with the exhaust fan. Its amazing when it cools down and the skillet pans rattling on it. It gets so loud it disrupts conversations. Luckily, its still under warranty and they’re gonna take care of it when they come back.Apart from that, I like the way it performs. It cooks well. Also, the whole customer service experience was overwhelming but was better than expected. I was doing a DIY project and had issues with the cabinets so it took a long time to get the range unpacked and installed. But they treated me very well. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my Viking experience.

We found out the range was damaged when it was installed and we had the local vendor, AllSouth, come out and look at it to see what the deal was. They said it could be fixed and it could be 5,000. But even if we replaced it, they were somewhat reluctant to say they feel safe with the internal portion of the gas part of it. That made us still somewhat reluctant to use it.They handed it off to Viking and Viking did not call us back so we had to call them and they apologized. They said they were sorry the other guy didnt call us back and that they have cameras that look at the production process so it couldn’t have been on their part. But the end result is we paid almost $7,200 for the range and its damaged. Im not real happy with Viking and I was real disappointed with them. If I had to do it over again, I would not go with them. Its been somewhat of an uphill battle with Viking and AllSouth and were hoping that it will be rectified.

I am not very happy with Viking Refrigerators. They are not at the level that I thought they were like Wolf appliances. It definitely compares with Maytag and KitchenAid and in that range, I think Vikings one of the ones that I would definitely go for. But price-wise, it is slightly expensive. They are also pretty small refrigerators. I wanted the 44-inch and has more options to choose but I did not see many so I finally ended up with the 36-inch ones. Although, its doing what a fridge is supposed to do and I think thats the minimum we expect to see. A repairman told me that it has defective parts. Nothing caused by us. Total cost for the repairs is $576. The warranty states that only one part is covered for 5 years - of course, not the parts I need. The company (Viking) wasted a lot of my time only to state the same, Sorry, not covered. Frustrating. I’ve seen Viking Ranges around, and Ive seen them evolve into a more sophisticated product than they were originally. They are robust, close to commercial in quality and performance, but have the benefit of being thoughtful of a residential home. They have convection, high heat, and different things one might want, like a broiler and a griddle, and you may or may not want it. And they have stood the test of time. I had a Garland for 25 years. It was commercial and rugged, but it didnt keep up.The reps were not knowledgeable at the store that I bought it at. But they were not unfriendly. I came prepared, having done my homework. And I felt a little rushed. But too bad for me, you have to have tough feelings. I had an insurance plan and something went wrong. And the insurance wasnt the easiest thing to work out. It was hard to get them and to get help. That was a little slippery. The irony of it all is my electrician rewired the kitchen and they had switched the neutral. The stove knew it, and was misbehaving, and we thought it was the stove. The people in Brooklyn who fixed it, top shelf. They could have told me anything. They diagnosed the truth. “You got the wrong polarity, fix it”. We fixed it, but the stove was never broken. That is more important to me than the sales people by a mile. Viking has excellent factory trained technicians. Love that. The reason I bought the Viking was it has a smart sensor. If the flame went out, it knew, and it lighted it. I was stunned at that. It may have been around a long time, but I didnt know about it. So it has everything I’ve seen in lots of places, but it has a smart technology that is lifesaving. It’s fantastic. The caveat is weve had it a few years. The quality is good, and the performance is excellent. We rattle the doors, turn the knobs and spill things just like anybody else. And so far, its just humming along. I would recommend that stove in a heartbeat. And this is a person who had a Garland for a long time.

Professional Refrigerator/freezer model #VCFF236SS002 - Purchased an existing home with barely-used 2012 Viking appliances. Within a week neither refrigerator nor freezer were holding temperatures. The shelves in freezer were also easily off-track. Took 3 days to reach Viking Corporation since it does not take calls on weekends or holidays, nor after 5pm ET. Once connected to Viking Corp service rep I learned that the appliance is under warranty for 30 more days. But the approved service provider/distributor for the state of WI is in IL, and the first available diagnostic appointment was one week out. The company rep at LV Distributors in IL gave a 50-50 chance that the service tech would be able to repair the refrigerator on the first visit, and could not estimate the time it would take to obtain necessary parts, nor when a tech would return for 2nd time. Calls to local high end appliance sellers & Viking owners about alternative service providers were fruitless. Reading Consumer Reports and other posts from owners in same circumstance makes it clear that this $3600 appliance is a bad choice if one wants a reliable, sturdy appliance.

WARNING!! YOU ARE ABOUT TO MAKE THE WORST DECISION OF YOUR LIFE IF YOU DECIDE TO BUY A VIKING APPLIANCE!! Keep reading: DO NOT waste your money!! We had a KitchenAid range/oven that lasted for years. Got tired of its look and decided to spend a lot more to show off our brand new renovated kitchen. So we went with Viking – possibly the worst mistake of my life! For starters the rubber feet on the top grates kept falling off. Then the oven racks stopped sliding followed by the electronic ignition never going off after the burner was started. Made a huge stink at PC Richard and they finally got Viking to send a technician. Needless to say that sent an independent service company who only showed up TWO weeks after we opened the service call. They replaced the grates and oven shelves... which lasted only a month!!Out of stupidity I had put a deposit for an almost $10,000 order for our second home in Vermont. The salesperson at PC Richard told us the D3 series was the economy Viking line. (Seriously??? $3G for it? Could have bought 4 KitchenAid ovens!) So he recommended their top of the line. However, after getting stuck with this disastrous lemon, I canceled the order. I never believed on reviews but the self-cleaning cycle JUST stopped working. I got so mad that I decided that I will do whatever I can do, for the rest of my life, to educate consumers so they do not get trapped by Viking into believing that Viking is a state of the art, top appliance manufacturer. WRONG!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!! DO SOME RESEARCH ONLINE. FIND A GOOD MANUFACTURER BUT NEVER, NEVER IN YOUR LIFE BUY VIKING.UPDATED ON 08/31/2016: This is a follow up after I posted a complaint here. After posting the complaint they were very quick to email me (customer service support supervisor Juanita **). An independent technician fully evaluated the Viking appliance and made a list of items that needed to be replaced. The list is 5 rows long - that by itself says a lot about the range. The technician was excellent in explaining everything to us. Upon his departure he said that Viking will need to approve the parts or decide to replace the range. This was on august 10, 2016. Today, three weeks have passed and... not a word from Viking. I called the service company and... Surprise!!!! Viking has not even responded to their request. So here is another important piece of information. Be aware!! They claim excellent service... Well you are for a big, big surprise. As big as the one you are going to get once you buy a Viking appliance. No matter which type, not matter where. Horrible company. Save your hard earned money and certainly dont spend it on a piece of garbage like it.

We quickly put in a call to dealer who sold and installed our refrigerator. They could not get to us for 3 days because of the Memorial Day week-end. We took everything out of the freezer and refrigerator and took them downstairs to a little portable unit. The service tech called us back the next day and told us to turn off the refrigerator/freezer and leave the doors open for 24 hours. The unit started working the next day so we put everything back in it. The service tech came and told us to keep things away from the vents and that would probably do it. Refrigerator/freezer worked for another 5 days and then it bombed out again. Once again we removed everything and brought it to the small unit downstairs. Once again, it took 3 days to get the service tech back. He put in new control boards and said everything was fine. And again, with great optimism, we moved everything back into the unit.Last night, while making dinner, the upper vent in the refrigerator started making a loud noise. I immediately grabbed my phone and took a video. The freezer temp was already at 16 degrees and going up. Guess what we did? We again moved everything out! We called the service tech right away and sent him the video. He will be here in 3 days. Obviously we are extremely discouraged about this $10,000 unit. And I am extremely tired of running to the little unit downstairs everytime I need something. Give us back our Sub-Zero!!!

The dealer I was buying from was having a weekend event and they had reps from different appliance companies. I didnt want the typical LG or any of the regular brands like GE Profile or KitchenAid. I had KitchenAid gas range before and I wasnt happy with it because the burner wasnt totally heating. It had a little gap, so I had to keep turning whatever I was cooking so it would cook evenly. I also had a GE refrigerator and that was awful. This time, I wanted something higher-end and so we decided to go with Viking. Also, Viking was still more affordable. I purchased a whole kitchen and all my appliances are now Viking. It looks great and it’s definitely high-end. The range definitely cooks evenly and Im happy with it. The stovetop has been my favorite feature as well. Overall, one can tell the quality of Viking just in cooling down the stove or the oven door. I can feel the quality compared to the other standard brands.

Use of 48 inch range - The Cobalt blue range is beautiful. The burners and oven works very well. Two flaws (1) the large oven has three racks with only one that completely pulls out making it difficult to clean the back of the other two. Cooking a large turkey looks to be a problem. (2) The all gas range does not have a self cleaning option. We smell gas for a few minutes when the oven is turned on.

For the love of God, do not spend your hard earned money on Viking applianc
For the love of God, do not spend your hard earned money on Viking appliances. I purchased an entire kitchen appliance set from an authorized dealer in 2009, spending about $20k. Within the first year of purchase, my top-of-the-line built-in fridge stopped working and it took them more than a week to repair and thank God it was under warranty. A couple of weeks ago, my dishwasher, which I have used maybe 20 times, stopped functioning. I called Viking and discovered that it only came with a 1-year warranty and that I was responsible for the labor portion. **, I spent almost 2 grand and you need to tell me that it only comes with a 2-year warranty. The following represents my email conversations with the Viking rep who basically doesnt give a ** about a customer who just 3 years ago gave them so much business:My first email to them: “Purchase Date: 08/05/09; Type of Appliance: Dishwasher; Model Number: VDB325SS. Dear Sir/Madam: Less than 3 years ago, I purchased an entire kitchen appliance set consisting of fridge, stove, hood, and dishwasher totaling close to $20k. However, I am writing to you today to express my dissatisfaction with the purchase of the dishwasher referenced above. While we have only used it about 20 times, I discovered that your company only warrants the parts for 3 years and not the labor portion. Consequently, I had to pay $305 in labor to repair the unit. To be specific, through Viking, I contacted Airflo in Van Nuys, CA, and their technician came out and upon inspection, he stated that, due to lack of frequent use, the circulation pump had gone bad. He said this was common for this type of model and to use the dishwasher at least once per week.”“The technician further stated that had I purchased the appliance just months later (early 2010), Viking would have covered both parts and labor for 3 years. Upon hearing that, I became extremely upset at the fact that here, I spent almost $2000 for a professional brand dishwasher that came only with a 1-year labor coverage which seems kind of unreasonable as this warranty is comparable to basic units costing $200. I honestly do not think I should be obligated to pay the $305 especially when months later, you decided to extend your coverage. In all fairness, taking into consideration the extraordinary circumstances, Viking should reimburse the labor charge which I paid. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.”Their response: Im sorry for the issues you have encountered with your dishwasher. As far as the warranty, the changes to the Viking warranty were implemented on 05/01/11 not in 2010. Im sorry for the misinformation you have received. Your unit would have a full 1-year warranty from your purchase date. At the end of your warranty period, you would be responsible for the charges. Thank you.”My response: I believe my concern was not the exact date when Viking implemented the change in their warranty policy but rather your company selling a defective product, specifically, the circulation pump in my unit. It seems this is a bit too common issue based on my readings online and according to your Viking authorized repair technician statements. In fact it is so common, that the technician always carries around a couple of circulation pumps in the van when he goes out for service as more than likely, this model dishwashers stop working because of the circulation pump. In any instance, this is not a monetary issue for me, but rather a principle one. Also I dont appreciate the corporate response I received from you since as a customer, I think I deserve more. Thank you.As of yet, it has been more than one month and no response. Anyone considering purchasing Viking Appliances better think twice. This company, through its retailers, promise you the world but when you have any issues, they are nowhere to support or address your concerns. I am going to make sure that all my friends, family, co-workers, etc. know about their dirty tactics.

Updated on 12/23/2018: Viking contacted me a few weeks after I posted the below review in May 2017, and asked if they could send a local area authorized Viking repair technician to come out and look at my D-3 Dual-fuel 30 (RDSCD2305BIB), which I agreed to. The tech came out not long after, I explained all the problems and prior two service repairs by the store I purchased through (Abt), showed him pictures of a pizza I cooked (I included photos with original review), the bottom was still pale and not cooked, the top was almost burnt. He assessed the oven, made a phone call and determined what parts needed to be replaced, including part for the burners, which spontaneously adjust the flames on occasion. He put the order in, but was not completely sure this would fix the problems. I waited several weeks until parts came in and technician came back.I was hopeful on this 3rd time fixing on an expensive oven, but to no avail. The oven temperatures are still not regulating correctly, they dont hold or get too hot, takes far too long to heat up, and still doesnt cook/bake food properly. My most recent baking fail was a homemade apple pie I made for Thanksgiving, a pie Ive made many times in many ovens with no issues. I followed my normal process, but within the first 20 minutes the top crust was starting to burn, so I covered with foil and kept baking because the rest and bottom still needing more time. When it was time to take out, it was a disaster, it wasnt an apple pie, it had cooked it into an APPLESAUCE pie! Ive never had this happen before, there was nothing salvageable and ended up in the garbage. This range is terrible and a complete waste of money, Im so disappointed since Viking used to be a quality brand, in hindsight I wish I had bought something different, Im glad I didnt buy Viking for my other appliances. Everyone I tell whats been happening says Viking should have replaced with a new unit by now.I will say again, I will never buy another Viking product again or recommend. I feel that I have been patient and trying to work through these problems, I enjoy cooking and baking, but not with this oven, its too frustrating and irritating, but I cant justify spending money to buy a new, different oven.Original Review: I did a kitchen gut renovation in 2013 with all new appliances. I wanted to do a dual-fuel because I read those were better for cooking. I researched a lot of options. At the time when I was shopping in 2012, the Viking D3 was still kind of new, but I didnt see any negative reviews and I always had heard Viking was a good brand. I proceeded to purchase the D3 dual-fuel 30 range in a color that is no longer an option and matching hood to coordinate with a color scheme in my kitchen (pop of color) and I dont like stainless, the range was $3400 and the hood $2000. The reputable company I ordered this through and who did the install, had a tech come out to make sure the ventilation parts were installed correctly on the hood, all was good. The range and hood were installed in 2013 and all seemed fine. Not long after, I was cooking something in the oven and the bottom was not cooked properly. I later cooked some pizzas, all them came out with the underside almost raw (pale colored too), but the top cooked fine. I called the company who I ordered through, technician came out and said the Molex(?) part had not been connected at the warehouse. It was still covered under warranty. Keep cooking things and still the same issues. I cooked a pizza once directly on the bottom rack, the underside should have been almost charred, but it was mostly uncooked, the topside was almost burnt (pictures shown).Called again (May 2015) and said it must be something with the cooking element and will order a new part, of which they called me back to say Viking told them the part would not be available until August, 3 months?! I felt that was unacceptable and emailed Viking directly telling them it was ridiculous I had to wait that long for a part when given how much I spent on this range and it doesnt cook properly, Viking rep apologized and shortly thereafter the part arrived in about 2-3 weeks.I also in this time experienced an issue with the vent hood, I was cooking something that kicked up smoke, I turned on the hood and the smoke curled around the hood not into it, I ended up having to open windows to air out kitchen. The technician came out, installed the new part, I told him about the vent hood, said all looked hooked up correctly and I told him what we had to do before installation, he subsequently called Viking who had no answers for him.So the new part was installed and it has made no difference at all. I have a separate temperature gauge for the oven and it never heats to the proper temperature, food doesnt cook properly, I have to monitor it closely. I have to heat the oven at least 30 minutes or more and theres no indicator of when its ready, the blue light on the front is useless except to tell me the oven is on. Once I was cooking something that needed to be cooked at 450(F), after 30 minutes I opened the oven and the gauge said it was over 525-degrees. The gas burners are average, they never seem to be at the correct level according to the dial, and the flames adjust themselves at times. I havent even tried the broil or convection options, too concerned what might happen. It has been extremely frustrating and not pleasurable cooking with this range as its so unpredictable, doesnt cook/bake foods properly. Ive spent all this money for something that looks pretty, and a total waste of $, I truly regret buying it and would never buy another Viking product or recommend it to others. People come into my kitchen and say what a pretty oven and cool color, which I tell them yes its pretty, but its a piece of crap. My other appliances (Whirlpool and GE) have been working great since I bought them through same vendor, no servicing since buying in 2013. I had better cooking experiences on my old, cheap all electric oven, even the cheap one before that, which was 20 years old. Of course the Viking range is out of warranty now and Im stuck with this hunk of junk and based on what Ive heard of Viking customer service and reviews, I dont expect them to be much help. They should replace it. I see they are still selling these models, but are just calling it the Series 3. I cant justify spending the money buying a new range and hood. Its an oven, it shouldnt be that complicated to manufacture something that works properly for that kind of money.

I had purchased a Wolf 30 gas range but the infrared broiler was not as good as 16 year old Viking gas range. Wolf is a very reputable and reliable company and took back the range that I had for a few months and returned my money (a first class outfit). So I purchased a new Viking range and am thrilled with some of the new features. The shelves in the oven roll out and one burner has more BTUs than the rest for big jobs. Also the infrared oven is excellent and the top is now sealed so liquid does not drip down into the guts of the oven and rust it out like the old one. The company is not as generous as Wolf and made me purchase a new set of knobs with the color of my choice (black) for better visibility and would not take back the silver ones as an exchange.

We built our house two years ago and put in over $60,000 in Viking appliances double over, two dishwashers, stove top, microwave, outdoor grill, fridge, and under counter fridge. I have problems with my dishwashers since day one. They have been serviced 5 times in 2 years. Last week when my one year old daughter opened the door of my under counter fridge, the whole door fell off and landed on her leg, trapping her under the 70 lb door. When I called Viking range to let them know and ask them to recall the fridge and replace mine they did nothing about it. I have had problems with my other Viking products. Do not buy Viking appliances. They are defective and Viking will not stand by their products. I have contacted a lawyer and am going forward with legal action.

I have all-Viking appliances in my kitchen and I had a custom refrigerator. It was 10 years old and I was having problems with it. Not all the parts were available and it cannot be fixed so it was time to buy a new one. If it had not been built-in with the cabinet, I would have purchased a Sub-Zero because a lot of people said they had quite a few problems with Viking refrigerators. And it was $2,000 more than the Sub-Zero. But I wound up buying a Viking because I had to put in this cabinet what would fit. I got the exact same size as the one they took out, which had wood panels that matched the cabinets on it. But they dont do that anymore. The new one is all stainless steel, and it looks good with the stove and microwave, which are also all stainless steel. They all look the same so it’s fine. Its brand new and it cools well, so I have no complaints. I like that there is LED light in it, because its bright. You could see inside well. At the bottom, you have that little area where you can put a normal-sized pizza box and just shelve it right in there and it fits. Viking has made some design changes from what we have had previously and I think they’re good. But my questions were around the reliability in the long term. Because refrigerators arent necessarily Vikings wheelhouse. Its more the stoves and stuff.

I liked the reputation that I read about them and bought a few things - a range, a washer and dryer, and a refrigerator. The Viking range is much better. It cooks much faster. It’s of good quality but the only thing I’m having a problem with is the grates in the oven. I can’t get it in and out easily. It sticks. Also, they didn’t explain clearly that I bought the non-self-clean oven. They didn’t go through everything for me. They didn’t tell me the ins and the outs of each of the ranges. If that slot could be made larger, it would make it easier to conceal the piping. Viking could also put in a smaller burner. Within 5 years we had about a dozen services on the Viking built-in refrigerator due to leaking water and icing up in the freezer. We are extremely disappointed with Viking products. We spent about $1500 on the dishwasher and $7,300 on the refrigerator. I would strongly discourage anyone from buying Viking products. We are about to buy a new refrigerator and it certainly will NOT be a Viking and we will not be buying our refrigerator from Pacific Sales due to their lack of customer support. Not only that but when Pacific Sales originally delivered the appliances their truck smashed a wall in our entry driveway. Viking should be sued. Its beyond me that this company that sells garbage to consumers for top dollar is still in operation. I guess if you never plan on actually using your appliances, then all is good and they look great. But if you would like an appliance that actually works and you intend to cook for family or friends, well then youre out of luck. You just flushed a chunk of money down the toilet! In 2009, we purchased all Viking appliances for our new custom built home. This included a refrigerator, separate stand alone freezer, 6-burner/griddle cooktop, double oven with warming drawer and microwave. This was quite an investment. However, since we cook and entertain so much, we felt it was well worth the cost for so-called top of the line appliances. Its truly unbelievable that every one of our Viking appliances has fallen apart, broken down and needed repair - which is not cheap by the way. Here are just a few of the problems: knobs falling off the cooktop, griddle on cooktop does not heat to proper temp, lock on oven for self-cleaning wont lock, microwave fuses blowing out (the inside is all GE), every drawer in refrigerator is cracked, freezer drawers cracked and racks dont slide out properly. I could good on, but I really just want to make sure that consumers do not invest their hard earned money on Viking appliance. Viking appliances are for show only, not for quality or function!

When the Viking range arrived we were extremely disappointed to discover the range rear panel exhaust fan was broke. Since then we have had repeated calls to the repair company for the same problem never to be resolved. The oven shuts off in the middle of cooking when at 425 degrees. The range will not go on until it cools down after 30-45 minutes. After the oven is turned off it makes a terrible loud noise. Our warranty has ran out and I will not pay out of pocket for repairs. That have been occurring since day one. I want my oven repaired as soon as possible. But the woman said no and never followed through with getting someone to repair it.However, the people I bought this stove from, Appliances Connection, stepped up and found a repairman. They organized the repair and now it is fixed. Im very happy. But someone needs to talk to Vikings service department rep. Purchased a complete kitchen full of Viking professional series products in 2008. In 2011 the microwave quit working. In 2011 the stove top igniters are always trying to light a lit stove. 2011, dishwasher spray arm fell off (plastic broke). Ongoing is my fridge freezer side by side. Too warm on top but frozen veggies in the crisper. The oven always seems to take a little longer to get to temp then in 2014 would never get to temp. Have called the Authorized Viking distributor and have always been transferred around. I have been pushed to an authorized repair company and been fleeced for labor and materials. Dealer came out for dishwasher and after talking on the phone for an hour told me it would be over $500 to fix. I paid him for the service call and found the part online, and put it in myself. Took the microwave out and just bought a GE. No one wanted to work on the micro. Pulled the oven out of the wall, called the technician and he came out to troubleshoot. Told me the lower element was out. He quoted me over $550 to fix when the part came in within the next few weeks. I paid him the 140 for the trip charge and service call and found the element online for 111. I put it in myself. An absolute hassle and this is unacceptable for appliances that are supposed to be top of the line. Never, I mean never... NEVER will I ever buy another Viking product. Pure 100% crap. I have a mother in law apartment that does not have a single Viking product. Never have issues. I have Kohler throughout the main house. Hardly ever an issue. Viking was high end, but cheaper than Wolf. Also, its relatively easier to clean than a Thermador. But Vikings quality is mediocre. If youre deciding between a Wolf and a Viking, you should spend the money and get a Wolf. But if youre deciding between if you want to go high end or low end, Id get the Viking because it is a nice brand. Everyone mentions it when they come in the house. The supplier that I bought the range from was amazing. They were so great in working with Viking to make sure I was under warranty.

All Viking appliances provided by the builder when house was purchased new in 2010. Have already had the dishwasher serviced 4 times, had to replace the interior racks, and finally had to remove it and purchase a different one. Now the refrigerator is acting up - service company selected by Choice Home Warranty has been out here 4 times (so far), replaced thermostat, sensor, ice maker, gasket. I have completely defrosted the unit 3 times since September. I am still getting frost in the lower part of the unit. In my consumer opinion, a $10K refrigerator should last more than 7 years. I have a smaller $300 Home Depot HotPoint refrigerator that has been running non-stop (except for 2 interstate moves) and I have NEVER had a problem with it. Seems to me the more expensive one should last longer. Save yourself the headaches and DO NOT get Viking branded dishwashers or refrigerators. And it is difficult to find authorized repair people.

Viking is a good brand. And we saw it at Best Buy, and we liked what we saw. The salespeople were very professional. The quality of our range is pretty good, but we’re a little upset with a couple of things. For the price of the range that we bought, it’s a pretty high-end range, and the burners are all stained up with the heat. It doesn’t very look appealing. As soon as we had it installed, we had trouble with one of the burners not lighting up, and we’re still having the same issue. Other than that, we like it. I like that it’s a six burner. And I like the BTU part of it the most.

There were a couple other brands that we were looking at that had added features that we didn’t need. We chose Viking for the price and it was what we needed. I really like the pizza pocket thing in the refrigerator, which is really awesome. Its cool that I don’t have to rearrange my entire refrigerator for that. I also like the humidity-controlled drawers because we don’t keep meat in the house, so we have a lot of vegetables. They tend to stay better longer than in other refrigerators through that. It seems like Viking has really thought this product through. Stuart, probably the store owner or a manager, was really knowledgeable and was able to direct us. He was able to show us the things that make all the difference with the price tag between Viking and the other high-end or low-end products. His sales technique was really good and he was very respectful. The only thing that was a little irritating was for the price tag of the refrigerator, better communication should have come from him. We seemed like an afterthought once he got the money and we werent sure when the refrigerator was coming in or when it was going to be delivered. We expected a certain level of service and Stuart seemed like he dropped the ball after we paid him. I had to chase him down and lock in a date instead of him communicating with us. Other than that, everything else was really great and were really happy with our fridge. The delivery team was amazing and they were quick and very careful with our house and with our refrigerator. There was a little hiccup with the installation. The guy said they’ll troubleshoot it and see if they can make it work, and they did. People are really impressed when they come over and see that we have a Viking.
