I’ve owned Viking Refrigerators for a while. Ive had my old one for 20 years and I bought a new one due to its brand and reliability. I also like its look. Ive had my new one for about three months. But the quality becomes questionable after 10 or 15 years and it becomes very expensive to maintain. Also, the issue with the two I have right now is that with the way they are designed, regardless of the temperature, everything freezes over in the top shelf. Everything gets slushy, especially beverages. It almost makes the top shelf unusable and I have to move all beverages to the bottom. I can only store limited stuff up there, otherwise, it’s gonna freeze over. They should at least have a cover on there. Also, they should extend the warranty.

When I shut the freezer door of the Viking refrigerator, it hangs up about a half an inch on one side and then I gotta slam it in. Its also overheating. Then every time I open the freezer drawer, the ice bin flips out on the floor, it goes backward. The machine rubs on the top of the ice because the ice bin is full and so the ice flips out. Now Ive got to open the door very carefully so I dont get ice on the floor because my floor is not in yet. But if I normally pull the door, it would do that. Viking could have designed this a little bit better.I called the retailer, Freds Appliance, immediately for repair and they said theyd get somebody out. A week passed and nobody called so I called again. The guy asked if somebody called me and I said no. He said that hed get right on it. Then another few days passed and we finally got a call. The people are not coming out till the 28th so Im dealing with the door being crappy. Im not happy that I paid a lot of money -- cause I bought the fridge, the oven, the dishwasher, the microwave, the icemaker, the range from Viking and then I gotta deal with this. Its not fair because Ive just had it for two weeks.

I purchased 27 Viking “professional” double wall ovens to replace old GE model in November 2010. I used them successfully to cook Thanksgiving dinner (I dont use an oven very much!). In 2011 around September, I cooked something that gave off a lot of steam and fogged up the analog clock which stopped. Reset it a few days later and it was fine. In January 2012, I roasted some wild mushrooms. The moisture from the mushroom stopped the clock again and I realized at that time it has also stopped the other timing controls. This time the controls stayed broken. I called Viking and I was told the ovens were out of warranty. I called for service and was advised to turn off the circuit breaker which may reset the controls. That didnt work. I called back and the operator was very surprised that Viking didnt “step up” and pay for the repair (they quoted $200 or so to send someone out). I called Viking back to ask again but couldnt reach anyone so I left a message. Then I emailed their customer support. I received a response that they would fix the controls for FREE. But after numerous emails and calls to Karen ** (senior customer support representative: **), I am still waiting. I will never purchase another Viking product! I love my Wolf exhaust fan and my Miele dishwasher and my very old Chambers gas cook top (I will never replace it).

The quality of our Viking Refrigerator is good. Its all metallic and easy to pull down drawers and wash and clean. But the thing that we are having an issue with is when you open the refrigerator, its very heavy because the door is custom-made. Then the stopper there broke last week. So we had someone come and replace it. But Im worried that its gonna happen again. Other than that, everything is good.

I have Viking in other homes, and this time, they were running a rebate which was a considerable amount of money. Also, Viking was acquired by another company and word on the street was their quality issues had been fixed. I also looked at Wolf and Thermador and read horrendous reviews about them, but they’re great products too. Ultimately the price point made the big difference for me and I bought a range from Viking. The qualitys pretty good. Upon unboxing and installation, there were two burners that were inoperable so that was not a good start. I then got a service call in and haven’t heard anything from them and it’s been two weeks. But I have been able to use it. I like the rapid heat oven which is very nice. I also like the true convection oven portion of it. It has three different convection modes, but the true conduct is very nice. And the overall appearance was very sharp. The dealer was good too. I did most of my research online and I have a rep that I used. I simply called him and said, “Order it.” Its a great product, well-made craftsmanship, and a value in the realm of high end, other than the burners. But I thought that may have been a shipping issue.

Just purchased a Viking refrigerator on Dec 15th 2018 and already have had to call for service. The very loud popping sound is annoying. The repairman couldnt do anything about it because it didnt make the noise while he was here (needs to know exactly where is coming from before he can make a diagnosis). I will continue to call until the problem is fix. After reading some of the reviews it looks like other problem. Does anyone know if theres a lemon law on refrigerators?

I purchased a Viking refrigerator in 2006 and have had nothing but problems. Weve had thousands of dollars of repairs including replacement for several plastic pieces for over $750. In 30 years, Ive never replaced an interior part on a refrigerator. Viking said the interior pieces are only under warranty for 30 days. Relays have been replaced, the motherboard, and in October the compressor died and was still under warranty. The part was promised by Hadco and then rescinded. It took well over 3 months for the part to come into the dealer. Meanwhile, I had to buy a new refrigerator. I was supposed to go through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a working refrigerator. After the part was finally sent, they sent a customer satisfaction survey. Why they bother, I do not know. They have the worst product and service I have ever encountered. I will never buy another Viking product. Ive shared my experience with everyone I can to spare them my inconveniences.

I knew Viking from the installation in multiple houses from friends but in this particular case, the builder had Viking as the official product to be selected from. We didn’t have an option but to select within Viking products. Its a good brand though and I like their refrigeration products look, that the drawers close softly and that it works. I would recommend them with a caveat of what the person might be looking for exactly. For example, this refrigerator doesn’t have the option to access water or ice from outside the door so it’s just practical issues depending on how you want to use it and what is your preference.

The builders of our home had already selected Viking, and we had seen the Viking appliances at a friend’s place and we were very happy with the appliances, so there was no regret. Most of our appliances are from Viking and I had to contact their customer service for the registration of the appliances. I had trouble registering the products once we occupied the house, and that was resolved. The customer service team was very helpful. They knew exactly what my request was and they were able to help me register the products. There were a couple of times it took me a while to connect to the customer service, though. The quality of our Viking refrigerator is great and it is easy to use. I like that the configuration of the compartments could be changed. There are many configurations that I could do to suit the container size that I am storing in the refrigerator. Thats the biggest plus for me. All the products are from Viking, so they are all coordinated. They blend very well together in the kitchen. Viking products are durable and they last for ages, so I’m very happy that we’ve made the right choice. Overall, our experience has been great.

Moved into our current house and replaced most of the appliances. The Viking French door refrigerator was a splurge. Soon after it was installed problems began. The refrigerator section began freezing all food. A tech was sent out several times. The problem persisted. They replaced the unit twice before one worked properly. It will freeze everything about twice a year. The second problem began about two years after installation. Water leaks out of the unit and the freezer section is constantly filling with water on the bottom. A tech said it was a common issue with the ice maker and that even if he replaced it the problem would return in a year. Once a month we break up the ice and remove it. No more water on the floor. Now the freezer door will not shut. When you close it and let go of the handle the door sags down and does not close. I have a tech scheduled but am fed up with the Viking brand. Never again.

The product performance and durability of Viking refrigerators led me to purchase from them. However, I’m very disappointed and frustrated because I have a French door refrigerator, and it is accumulating a lot of ice all the time. The service in Rio de Janeiro, where I live, is very poor. There’s only one authorized dealer that does customer service and he never has the time. He advised me to change the seal rubber that goes on the door, which I did, but the problem continued. I told him this, but there was no response. I was about to write a letter to Viking because this is unacceptable. I’m also not very happy with my experience with the dealer. They sold me one model and they delivered another. I had to keep the one they sent me but I want the model that I purchased. But since they refused to change it, I ended up having received a penalty from them.

The house I bought came with a Viking range already installed, and I like it in general. It’s got a few years on it and it wasn’t under warranty anymore. I’ve had nice, quality ranges so far in my life, and the Viking range is really good too. But I had to have service on it because of issues with the door not being aligned right. The person that fixed it knew what he was doing and treated me well. He gave me good information and did what he could to remedy the issue, so I was pleased with that. He was nice and did a good job, and I would call him again if I had any more issues. The range is mostly fixed but not perfect, so I’m a little disappointed but not heartbroken. I wish it had a little bit more durability, but otherwise, its all good.

I had a Viking Range that I bought 25 years ago. I finally used it up and got a new one. I like the way the lights in the new one work a little better and the simmer setting. And I like that the burner pans are sealed. With my previous unit, there was a drip tray underneath that we had to keep cleaning all the time. The improvements are nice. I liked Vikings name and reputation. The quality of the range that I got is excellent. I really like the six burners on the top and the control that I have when Im cooking. However, cleaning the range is like an event. I dont like doing it very often because its so much work. I have to take all the six burners off individually and have to clean them. Then, I have to take those little things underneath the burners that catch everything. You have to take all six of those off and clean them, then dry them after which you wipe down the stove. You then take everything out from the crumb catcher underneath.Ive had other ranges where the grates are one piece, you pick them, lean it up against your backsplash, wipe it down, put it down, and youre done. With this range, my husband and I always yell about whos gonna clean it. So, consequently, we just let it go. We would clean it maybe once a week cause I cant do that every single time I cook. I just wipe it down and wait until Sunday to clean it.

We bought a new house 3 years ago. The house came with all brand new Viking appliances, wonderful we thought... until we actually wanted to use them. We have a microwave, fridge/freezer, 6 burner range oven and dishwasher. Fridge/freezer and microwave have worked fine, so no complaints there.Oven and dishwasher however, are a bit of a disaster. First of all the oven - the gas was coming in too far from the flame, so it would never light properly, or it would light and then go out after a few seconds, just leaving the click click click as it tried to reignite, and the smell of gas everywhere. Called the engineer and he repositioned the pipe so it would work properly (the original issue might have been the problem from installation and not a Viking problem, Im not sure). Then after this visit, the fan in the oven makes a ting ting ting noise knocking against something if we try to use it - as wed had the engineer out for the dishwasher in the middle of this, I couldnt face getting him here again, so we have lived for 3 years without using the fan. Now onto the dishwasher which wasnt working when we moved in (brand new dishwasher), sometimes it would stop mid-cycle, other times it wouldnt go on at all. We had the service engineer out several times. First time he tried resetting everything, then second time he ordered a new electric panel on the front and came back and installed it later, then after that it seemed to work fine. Until yesterday, when the electric heater failed - at least this is the word on the Viking website talking about this very issue on a product recall (which doesnt include our dishwasher). As I sat about 3 feet from the machine, I heard a strange short circuit sound and a pop, seconds later there was smoke coming from the machine (which was running), I grabbed the fire extinguisher and switched everything off. Moved our two babies to another room, and pulled the machine out of the wall with my husband, smelt where it was coming from, and dismantled the thing to find a completely burnt out electric heater and wiring on the bottom. Very dangerous. We now have a semi-dismantled dishwasher in the kitchen and we are trying to get the part replacement - officially this is on a 6-week order lead time. More to come, but 100% sure that I would not purchase Viking again.

We built our home 18 years ago and ordered all new appliances. Didnt notice the latch was not working until a couple years later because I thought it was just me - learning to bake with a gas oven as opposed to my old electric. I was complaining to my brother-in-law who is Mr. Fix-it and he noticed it wasnt closing properly. The latch was bent. With all his tools and strength he was unable to bend it at ALL! We were replacing a refrigerator that was a certain size and Viking was the only thing we could find that would fit without having to redo my cabinet. There was a line or a seam that was in the door panel when it first arrived but it has already been replaced. The ice maker is terrible. Its a very rickety metal bar, whether you put it into on or off mode. I was so afraid to move it because it looks like its gonna break because it doesnt look like something that would be your on/off. It doesnt keep making ice until its full and it barely makes any ice. Everything in my freezer has an icy snowy look on it and anything you put on the top shelf on the left side of the refrigerator freezes. So, we just put a set of water bottles up along the left-hand side of the refrigerator and the top shelf. Weve had it for five weeks or so now because I kept thinking that there was something set wrong. The repair guy thought it could be the steel gasket that goes around the door that suctions on when you shut your refrigerator door. He put a new one on to make me feel better because the only way that I could have frostbite on my stuff is if some air was getting in there. So, theres a whole brand-new gasket installed on that that has nothing to do with it.I reached out to Viking through Friedman’s which was where we bought the refrigerator. Im trying to make the lady who I bought this from figure this out. She got whoever to come and address whatever issues that Ive had so far but the thing with the freezer hasnt gotten any better. They just said it was fine but it’s not. Everythings not being frozen at the right temperature. This refrigerator was the price of a car and its terrible. Its over $14,000 so, I am as unhappy as can be. I cant even believe a refrigerator costs that much in the first place. Then, to think that weve barely had it and its already like this, whats it gonna be like in a year from now. Refrigerators should last 15 years. I had the one that we had before for 14 years. I had it from the time we built our house. In the purchase of getting this Viking refrigerator, I was excited because they said that it was gonna come with a free dishwasher. The dishwasher is even worse than the refrigerator. Its so bad. I dont put things in there with gobs of food on them, but you have to wash them perfectly before you even put them in the dishwasher, because it doesnt get anything clean. Both of them are terrible and Im so regretful. Between the dishwasher and the refrigerator, this Executive Appliance, who Viking uses to service issues when you first buy something have already been here four times. So, I dont know what else to do.

We’ve always known about Viking Ranges, and personally, I didn’t want to buy a Viking range because it was too expensive, but we did because my husband wanted it for the quality. Also, it’s made in America, which was a huge factor for our purchase. In fact, I wanted an Italian made oven since it was cheaper, but then we went with the American made Viking range. The people at the Viking dealer were good. However, there was a conflict between the brochure that was on the display and what was actually available. So, that probably needs to get tightened up. Purchased this stove (VESC Professional 30 Freestanding) in April 2012 because we wanted a Viking Kitchen. Big mistake. Here are the comments I sent to the chairman and CEO of the company after using the stove for two months: At the front of the cooktop there is a small gap/crack between the cooktops metal frame and the main body of the stove. Crumbs and other waste accumulate in this space, which is very difficult to clean. The GE range and many others have a completely smooth top, with no gaps around the cooktop, making them much easier to clean. We ordered the optional backsplash, not realizing that it completely replaces the original vent grill which has become surplus. Rather than forcing customers to order both, it would be much more reasonable, and less wasteful, to substitute the optional backsplash at the factory and not send the vent grill, offering an corresponding price adjustment. Ranges costing much less have more features and are better designed. I cannot recommend paying Vikings very high prices (the stove cost over $5000) for a poorly designed product and this will be my last purchase of a Viking product.

We just bought the Viking 5 series. The grate started flaking when I first used it and left black flakes on the stove. And to make it worse the stove discolors with just the most basic use and it requires serious scrubbing to get the grime off the stainless steel part around the burner. This is absolutely not what I expected when I paid over $3500 for this cooktop range.

We just did a full-house renovation and I bought three refrigerators - a Viking and two Sub-Zeros. We bought through Ferguson. The saleslady was great and was good at advising but I was pretty clear on what I wanted and I also went with a decorator. I like the temperature management and the humidity drawers of the Viking and the only issue was if they had more storage containers at the top for the condiments, that would be great. But, otherwise, everything’s great and Im happy with it.

I purchased my Viking side by side built in refrigerator in 2011... I have had ongoing problems... The dealer sent out a technician with a list of problems we were having... Water freezing within the door to dispenser, rattle within the grille, door hinge catches and pings when opened and closed. After a couple of times with dealer technician, they sent me to a local authorized Viking repair business. Numerous technicians were sent out to work on previous problems and then we started adding additional problems... The back wall piece that ice tray connected to came loose, and again no ice or water dispensing. Auger motor broke. As to date, 2014 I am still contacting technicians to repair my frig. I just contacted Viking direct and wanted to know what can be done! She apologized and apologized and yet said that Viking will not take any steps to review and/or replace my messed up refrigerator... I was so displeased. The Viking appliances are high-end and I paid quite a nice ticket price for a kitchen full of Vikings... And being American made, which is why we chose Viking. We thought they would be a service quality company. Not the case in my experience. I would not recommend Viking appliances.

I purchased a Viking 30 electric cooktop Model RVEC3305BSB. It was installed and after they left, I turn on the stove to cook. One of the lights remained ON indicating that the heating element is HOT when the stove is not even on (the light stayed on since then, and it still on). I called Viking and they send someone to fix the issue. The guy said they had to order the part and it was going to take a week. His words hopefully thats the issue, if its not then Viking will switch it for another one. I called to get the status and this time they said 10 days! I called Viking to complain and they said it was expedited to a week. It is not what I expected from a brand like Viking. I bought a new appliance, and yet it has to be fixed, why not replace it with one that has no issues and save us all the inconvenience of all these calls and following up? I am frustrated and disappointed with how this was handle.

We went looking at different stoves and we were impressed with Viking by what we were getting for our money. Our place is propane/electric and we wanted a gas top and its got a convection oven in it. We liked that idea in case the power goes out. Were in the mountains and the power goes out here once in a while. This range is super expensive and I would never normally go out and buy a stove like this. But weve got a beautiful house and this stove fits the house to a T. However it was hard to get the kit to transform into propane at the top and we had to wait quite a while. We were cooking on our camp gear outside because they had to go back East for the kit and we had to wait over two weeks. That was the downfall and that wasnt very impressive. I was at the point of canceling the range because of it. Its a high-quality stove and they should have no problem getting parts for that stove. I wanted those parts flown to my house like next day delivery so we could get the stove into place and we couldnt even get that done. I also didnt like that I have to get my glasses on and look really close at the dials. The stove has got a switch on the side. You push the button and the light comes on and it lights up the dials. It shows you when you turn the dial, youre gonna turn it up to high or medium, but its very hard to see. Its got to upgrade. Otherwise, we love the stove. The stove is an awesome product, a very beautiful stove. It does a really good job of cooking and Im impressed. My favorite feature is the convection oven.

Ive had two repair guys out, one for the beverage center and one for the cooktop. They were both very lovely. I ran into a warranty issue with the beverage center though and that was a nightmare. I just gave up and paid for it. It wasnt expensive, but it was a waste of time. Other than that, Im happy with everything.

Im a general building contractor, so I research every refrigeration system I can find. I had an existing cutout where I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator from years past and the Viking box size was almost identical to the Sub-Zero that I removed. So far I like it very much. It keeps everything cold and crisp the way its supposed to, and its exact in the areas that its supposed to be and in the areas that its not supposed to be that way. Its an intelligent machine. I especially like the icemaker and the pizza box shelf at the bottom. Their products are good and as advertised. For the price and performance, Viking would be my number one suggestion.

The Viking appliances are made to last. Between this refrigerator and my old refrigerator, for some reason, the things wouldnt last as long as they do in this Viking. The different departments and the bins in the refrigerator makes it so you can put things in different temperatures. That’s a heaven-sent. When youre a chef or you like to cook, you need things right there. You dont need to be running around the kitchen. With all those different drawers, I got the vegetables in one thing and I even have wine in one of the compartments. So, its an excellent piece of equipment. It makes cooking easier. My favorite feature of the range is the simmer. But I like the one on the right-hand side in the front because I like to cook things and get the heat high on it. You could cut up two chicken breast that might be cold and put it in there, and it would get nice and hot where it would start to brown. In a normal stove, that would not happen. If I had to do it again, I’m definitely going to be using Viking. When you want something to last and you want to pay the money for a good appliances and good equipment, Viking’s the best. When you spend the extra dollars for something, it changes your life. I was cooking on just an electric stove top and I only had four burners. So, to go from that electric stove top to my Viking, its like getting a brand new Mercedes Benz. I cant believe how easy it is for me to cook things such as baked potatoes and big rib roast. Ive cooked them all. Viking is expensive but youre paying for the quality of it. If you want the best, you got to pay a little extra, and it’s well worth it.

I remodeled my kitchen in 2018 and purchased all Viking appliances. Less than 2 years later I already have problems with the dishwasher (the detergent door doesnt open during the wash cycle), the freezer stopped making ice and the door to my steam oven spontaneously shattered when I opened it. I know this sounds crazy but it is absolutely true. I was opening the door, heard a pop and all of a sudden the glass started shattering. When I contacted Viking I was told my appliances were out of warranty. They only warranty them a year but who expects these expensive, high end appliances to start having problems so soon? My old (non-high end) appliances lasted 20 years! I never once had a problem. Whats most upsetting is Vikings attitude. I thought I was purchasing high quality appliances from a reputable company but thats not the way I feel anymore. Their customer service is terrible. They are slow to respond to emails and phone calls and truly dont seem interested in helping their customers or standing by their product.I had one service company they recommended come and leave with out fixing anything. The service tech said I should just put the detergent pod in the utensil holder and he glanced at the ice maker, said there was an ice cube stuck and declared it fixed. So here I am, a month later with nothing resolved. My biggest regret is not researching. Before you buy: research, get recommendations from friends, visit different appliance stores and talk to the sales people. And read reviews on web sites other than the brands site. I noticed Viking has no negative reviews on their site.

Weve owned Viking products for years in different houses. Over the years, their products have improved. Weve just spent about $40,000 in Viking products, in building a new home. The refrigerator we got from them appears to be fine. They built a nice product. I dont have high expectations with a refrigerator. It either keeps stuff cold or frozen. We have a separate Viking ice maker thats not part of the freezer or refrigerator, and its a nicely constructed piece of equipment. My only issue was with their dishwasher that immediately leaked. Moreover, I was in a new home without a dishwasher for two months because they couldnt deliver parts. We just got the dishwasher back a couple of days ago. The Viking dealer was good, except with their service with the dishwasher. We live in a small town in Arizona and they are the only game in town. But theres no excuse for our spending thousands of dollars on a piece of equipment that comes defective from the factory and then it takes two months to get a replacement part. Its just not acceptable We havent had any issues so far with any of the other equipment, which is good. Our Viking products sometimes had service-related issues, so theyre not as durable as some of their competitors stuff, but they certainly are attractive in their features. Ive had both good and bad experiences with Viking products, so I’m holding my breath that we don’t have any other issues. Viking has been challenged publicly on the quality of their product. So, Im hoping that they have improved their manufacturing process and their items are more durable than they were in the past.

I liked how the Viking products were built. They seemed very sturdy and the quality was very good. I love the high powered burner. Theres one thats super high power so I can boil water really fast. But recently the timer broke on my range. I called the repairman who found damage to the door. The range was working fine but this was something that couldnt be repaired so it was a big deal. He then contacted his Viking rep but afterwards they sent me an entirely new range and covered the installation. They were no longer making the model that I had, so I ended up with an upgrade and I didnt have to pay for a thing. I was blown away. The issue with the timers is that when the oven is heated up really high for cleaning, that destroyed the timer mechanism. The ranges dont come with a timer anymore and they had improved the range since I got mine in 2012. They sell a kit in case peoples timers go out. But what they did for me was amazing. They stand by their product. I will be a Viking owner for life.

We have four different Viking appliances and we love their line. We also love the range. But with the refrigerator that we bought, Im not feeling super great about it. After less than two months of us installing it, the refrigerator died. There was a problem with the fan in the freezer portion that wasnt blowing air up the refrigerator, so everything was spoiled. We called the company where we purchased the Viking Refrigerator from and then they contacted Viking. Then they sent someone under the manufacturer warranty. However, that process took three weeks so we were out of a refrigerator for three weeks. The refrigerator is fixed now, although there is a popping noise that occurs occasionally. But even though the refrigerator is giving us some trouble, we still like it. We also like its size and the capability of monitoring the temperature.

We bought a Viking refrigerator 15 years ago. We purchased a new refrigerator to replace one that wasnt working anymore. We had no choice but to buy another Viking because we invested in cabinetry and it’s the only thing that would fit. However, it doesnt fit even if the specs said it would. It was a disappointment. The current model is two inches deeper than the original side by side that fit in the 24-inch cabinet. Viking would not take it back but the appliance company would, but we had looked at other side-by-side models. We would have had to use a stainless and our panel wouldn’t fit. In addition, nobody makes a counter depth refrigerator anymore. Wed have to invest in the columns to do that, and they’re significantly more expensive. We’re stuck with the Viking refrigerator. Also, they gave us a deal and we had gotten a dishwasher for free that came along with the refrigerator. Vikings specs need to be more accurate in terms of calling something counter depth when it’s really not counter depth. The refrigerator freezes things on the top shelf. Then we had a hinge problem. We had people out of here twice to fix the hinges. The door is also extremely heavy and has a metal compartment on the door. And it’s much heavier than the other unit. Although its a great refrigerator, I’m not enamored with Viking products. I also own a second Viking, a 36 inch with a lower freezer, which is still working after 15 years.

I like that the Viking ranges construction and the reports that I’ve seen about it, and being six burners with an extra-large oven made it a perfect match for the kitchen. The craftsmanship of the range that I got is beautiful and everything is enclosed. It has the proper sparkers to hook up the gas and the electric. And the burners are fantastic but Viking really did a great job on the engineering of the simmer. It’s beautiful. And I like that I can take the knobs off and wash them. Theyre metal and looks like they’re gonna be there for a long time.I bought my Viking range through ABT Electronics in Chicago. And the packaging was perfect and it came perfectly protected. Their giveaway, the Viking dishwasher, also helped me with the purchase and further rebates in another order is always a nice thing to have. All in all, the Viking range is a great product. And from what I’ve seen, it is really nicely engineered with all heavy cast iron components and burners, the knobs, and the interior enforcement. I haven’t seen a product that’s like this yet and the simmer is adjustable and its really nice that I can put it up or down. The range sits off the floor, too, so I can sweep underneath.

We’ve had our old Viking Range for at least 14 years. We did some comparisons this time but still ended up with Viking because of our past ownership. The quality of the new range is top-notch and it has the ability to do the low simmer on the burners, which is really nice. In the oven, the slide rails are really nice, for the racks, too. The Viking dealer was terrific, knowledgeable and very nice and we had done a lot of background research so we didn’t really have many questions for them. However, we had a problem with the oven igniter so we called them back and they had somebody out to fix it the very day that I called. They were completely supportive.I love the burners and the oven itself and I’m getting used to using convection. The old oven didn’t have convection so I’m playing around with temperatures. I really like the new ranges quality and some of the features but there could be some improvements. One of those is the oven fan runs for a really long time after I turn the oven off and it is annoying to have that constant fan there. The oven window and the oven light are really miserable. There might be better ovens out there, in terms of the oven light, oven window, and that annoying fan. But other than that, it’s really nice and sure is pretty.

When they do answer I get the run-around until I insist they send someone to fix it, which then takes two or three days. And then, three weeks later the same thing happens. I had some Viking products before and I love their products. I got a refrigerator and its very organized, compressed and is a nice statement in the kitchen. It also seems to be energy efficient because it doesn’t run in a cycle. It runs on and off a lot versus the thing compressing the air. It also maintains the temperature very easily and its quiet. The guys who brought the ref in were extremely careful and good at moving the big and heavy product. But I was offended by my experience with their dealers. They sent out a refrigerator which was boxed and I saw the delivery guys open it in front of my house and it was damaged in the box. They brought it in and they said the damage could be easily fixed by replacing one piece. I told them it was fine, I needed the refrigerator for the holiday. But as I installed the refrigerator, I noticed one packaging slip on the side of it so I removed it and inside the slip was the receipt that a new box had been ordered for this refrigerator. The refrigerator was sold to another family in a nearby suburb and returned by that family because it was damaged. But the dealer sold it to me as a new product.I immediately called the supplier and it was like the girl had been waiting for my call. They knew exactly what was going on and they ordered me another one. The other one came and they said, “Just use this one in the meantime.” I wasn’t really out a refrigerator for a long period of time, but it was just the idea of them trying to slip this damaged one past me. I would be hesitant in purchasing a high-priced item from this company again even though Im happy with the product itself.

I’ve seen Viking Ranges around, and Ive seen them evolve into a more sophisticated product than they were originally. They are robust, close to commercial in quality and performance, but have the benefit of being thoughtful of a residential home. They have convection, high heat, and different things one might want, like a broiler and a griddle, and you may or may not want it. And they have stood the test of time. I had a Garland for 25 years. It was commercial and rugged, but it didnt keep up.The reps were not knowledgeable at the store that I bought it at. But they were not unfriendly. I came prepared, having done my homework. And I felt a little rushed. But too bad for me, you have to have tough feelings. I had an insurance plan and something went wrong. And the insurance wasnt the easiest thing to work out. It was hard to get them and to get help. That was a little slippery. The irony of it all is my electrician rewired the kitchen and they had switched the neutral. The stove knew it, and was misbehaving, and we thought it was the stove. The people in Brooklyn who fixed it, top shelf. They could have told me anything. They diagnosed the truth. “You got the wrong polarity, fix it”. We fixed it, but the stove was never broken. That is more important to me than the sales people by a mile. Viking has excellent factory trained technicians. Love that. The reason I bought the Viking was it has a smart sensor. If the flame went out, it knew, and it lighted it. I was stunned at that. It may have been around a long time, but I didnt know about it. So it has everything I’ve seen in lots of places, but it has a smart technology that is lifesaving. It’s fantastic. The caveat is weve had it a few years. The quality is good, and the performance is excellent. We rattle the doors, turn the knobs and spill things just like anybody else. And so far, its just humming along. I would recommend that stove in a heartbeat. And this is a person who had a Garland for a long time.

I went into Ferguson looking for a 36-inch wide range that was a Wolf but they had that Viking Range model in there and they were trying to clear it out. The director of appliances of the whole chain was the one there and he went over everything. He explained the differences between the Wolf and the Viking then I called my wife who called the builder. It’s wider than what we planned out for the unit, but the builder said that if we wanted to do it, they would make it work. My wife came right over to look at it. She liked it and we ended up buying it on the spot right there. Then we had to buy the hood and the motor. It was a very good experience but we called in several months ago and they were supposed to send us the thermometer but we haven’t received it. Outside of that, it’s been a very good unit. We had the opportunity to use the Viking in summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. It works great for us.

I’ve used Viking for several years. I’ve had a 16-inch Viking range in one house and had some other Viking and Jenn-Air appliances as well. But Ive always gone back to Viking. My wife likes them because the big Viking ranges have removable inserts so when we spill and things flow over on the gas ranges, we lift the grating off and then there’s a pan that we can lift out on the older ones that makes it much easier to clean. But in my current house, I bought a Viking surface gas range and it’s a pain in the ass because I can’t pull those pans out to clean them.I also have a non-built in refrigerator and I had it drop shipped to my house. I unpacked it, installed it myself, set it all up, and it’s perfect. I like the LED lighting in them. Its just a nice touch to it when I open the doors. Also, the handles have a substantial feel which at times, feel a little better than industrial feel. Others are still in boxes and they’re waiting to be installed. One’s a built in refrigerator, built in freezer, and a built in wine cooler. And I have a construction project going on right now so they’re not going to be installed for another four weeks if all goes smoothly. One of the reasons I’ve gone overboard with Viking is because when I went a local supplier where I’m at to look at Viking and they didn’t stock them any more They said, “Well, we actually just had to pull them out because we don’t do enough business here. Viking is consolidated per dealership network. And so I called another dealer and they said, “Yeah. We’ve been buying up all the demo Viking stuff and Viking bought stuff from other dealers ‘cause they’ve gone through a dealer consolidation. So I ended up going to a dealer in Dallas, Texas and buying most of my Viking appliances from them. We got a really good discount because they had been buying up inventory from other dealerships in this consolidation so my timing was right.Nonetheless, I spent over $20,000 but Ive got three refrigerators, a wine cooler, two stove tops, one gas, one induction, and one Viking wall oven and two Viking warming drawers. My wife absolutely loves the wall oven because they’re French doors, and she’s short. She’s burned herself on oven doors trying to reach into the oven to pull things out and so those French doors are phenomenal for short people because they can get right into the oven without having to reach over the door when they open the door down in a conventional oven. Ive already recommended them to a couple of friends that were remodeling their kitchens. I even told them where to go and a couple of dealerships that I worked with that gave really good pricing.

I liked Viking's reputation and the quality of their products. They were pretty much at the top of our list with the exception of La Cornue. But La Cornue was very out of our budget and Viking was much more reasonably priced compared to them. We ended up getting Viking refrigerator and range as well as their microwave and dishwasher. The whole kitchen is Viking. Their products look great, function great, and you always get a compliment when people come to the kitchen. We got them from P.C. Richard and they were tremendous.

We purchased a full suite of Viking kitchen appliances (gas range, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher), which were delivered on 10/1/2019. Since they were installed, all four appliances have required service. First, the insulated glass on the microwave door was not sealed properly, so condensation formed between the glass. Viking’s fix for this issue was a new door, which took over a month to get. The front panel on the dishwasher was damaged when it was installed, so it also needed to be replaced. The panel came with the microwave door about a month after it was ordered. The gas range - which is supposed to be the flagship product for Viking - also required repair. The oven would not ignite consistently and would fill my home with noxious gas that had to be aired out. (The service technician found that the ignitor was too far from the heating element, which is why the oven wouldn’t light.) There are no bells and whistles on this range, which I knew when I bought it, so one would think it would do the one thing it is capable of doing... lighting... and it couldn’t even do that without a service call. Now the refrigerator is sounding alarms randomly and indicates that our freezer is varying temperatures, as high as 55 degrees. There is no way to disable the alarm and it has taken more than a week to get a service call scheduled, which means my family has to endure this loud beeping that goes off all day and night. To make matters worse, we have a special needs child who is terrified of alarms so this has been particularly distressing to him. Due to whatever error the freezer is experiencing, the compressor runs so much that our food in the fridge is freezing. I have had to throw out a bunch of produce, like apples, pears, lettuce, etc., because of the extreme cold in the fridge. Given we have only had these appliances for two months and experienced problems with all four of them, I would say I am extremely disappointed in Viking’s quality. Their service has been terrible, too. Despite multiple attempts to contact someone at Viking who can help, we have yet to receive a call back. In the meantime, I’ve had to reach out to multiple appliance repair companies, the retailer where we purchased the appliances, and taken time off work multiple times to have the appliances serviced. Had I known how bad my experience with Viking appliances and arrive would be, I would’ve saved myself the trouble and money and purchased non-“professional” appliances!

Our Viking refrigerators good. We built several homes and Im a cook, so the Viking range is what I wanted, and then they were doing a deal. You can get a couple of different things, so I went with that and got the refrigerator. My favorite thing is the very bottom shelf. You can put like pieces of boxes and weird things. Its a well thought out storage. Its a good use of space. As far as the quality, its what Ive expected for a built-in. Its good. One of the little doors where you put your butter in the door was cracked on the inside but that kind of happen.

In 2009, we replaced our 17-year-old SubZero with a Viking Refrigerator (15.2 cu ft of fridge and 5.1 cu ft of freezer). Aitoros in Norwalk, CT threw in a Viking wine fridge for free. The doors to the butter shelf broke very quickly after purchase and the cheese door is cracked. We also purchased an extended warranty. Bottom line, the service company after 5 attempts to fix the refrigerator told us we were keeping the door open too long. We are empty nesters who work all day and are nowhere near the kitchen. Calls to Aitoros did nothing. Calls to Viking Custom Service referred us to another store who does not service appliances purchased elsewhere. The service company who covers the warranty is unresponsive. For the last 6 months, our food is in the vintage, mustard yellow, GE refrigerator vintage 1977 (in the basement) which works like a champ. I would never, ever recommend a Viking appliance to anyone. I will never purchase another appliance from Airotos who we have used for the last 20 years. Whatever happened to customer service? It seems we have no other alternative than to go and buy a new refrigerator.

I heard about Viking Ranges online and from friends that had it. I liked the name, the look and the feel. There’s a lot of good parts, and as far as the performance, the heating elements of it, especially the oven, its very good. It heats up really fast and I really like the feature. However, the main issue I have with the range I bought is the door being so heavy. It has different panels and then those panels are latched to each other. I’ve been having issues with the door not latching all the way because it’s so heavy that it’s coming apart. And since the door doesn’t close all the way, now the heat is escaping. I had a technician come out here twice already who tried to repair that and rescue that back in there, but now it’s the same issue happening. They won’t replace the door. I’ve called everywhere and nobody gave me a satisfactory solution. At first I called from the retailer I bought it from. It was right at the end of the warranty period. So the first time they came out here, it was still under warranty. They repaired it and no charge. And then, six to eight months later the same thing happened again and the guy came out here again. So, he wrote it up and apparently they didn’t want to replace the door. They just repaired it. So, we’re having the same problem. And then I tried to call Viking directly and then I had under the warranty extended warranty go to waste. If you pay a lot for something you have high expectation and high quality, but it doesn’t seem like it. And then we call and don’t get the resolution that we expected. For that reason, I would never buy a Viking again.

We purchased a complete Viking kitchen with two dishwashers. The dishwashers, for the money spent, do not live up to Vikings reputation. The dishes are, for the most part, not clean nor are they dry when the cycle is done. Also, the dishwasher is always wet inside causing it to have a really foul smell. I am sorry to say that I have not referred Viking to friends who were building house and ones who were redoing their kitchen. I am sadly stuck with these worthless dishwashers. Had we only known!!

The Viking Refrigerator just came with my house and I dont really like it. If it were me, I would not have bought that one. I dont like the fact that I have to open both of the doors just to get something from the long drawer at the bottom. That drives me crazy because we had an old fridge that I didnt have to do that. I also dont understand why it doesnt have water in it. I dont know if thats an option I could have had, but this home did not come with that in it and its a nice feature.

We bought a brand new house and all the appliances were Viking. The original refrigerator that was discontinued was really substandard in the sense that the design was flawed. The freezer is at the bottom half so anything that tumbled from the refrigerator fell on the freezer and the freezer frame was dented. It kept getting dented. I wasnt very happy with the quality so I had to replace that with the model that came about after it was discontinued. I was trying to replace the bottom freezer and I called their parts department and one was better, but the other was charging me $2,000 just for the bottom freezer while a new model costs $3,500. Theres just no recourse as far as their customer service. In addition, somebody recognized that the design was flawed, so they changed it. The freezer frame was no longer stainless steel. It was very very hard plastic and it didnt jut out anymore. So, its horrible that such a design was at all created. There was no quality control. We then got a new refrigerator from Best Buy and they were pretty good except for the delivery that had so much bumbling all over the place. The first people who delivered it didnt know how to handle refrigerators because the foot was dented. Im very dissatisfied with all the Viking appliances we had and Im never going to recommend Viking ever.

In a shocked panic I turned off the oven and grabbed the baking soda. If I hadnt been still in the kitchen chatting, this event would of burned down my house. I called my insurance and they said they would not cover the oven because the house did not burn down. Called Viking and they acted matter of fact like this is an everyday occurrence with their customers and told me to call an authorized repairman. Five hundred dollars later and a lot of elbow grease, it works again but the experience was very frightening!

On 1/6/2005, I purchased a Viking 36 inch free standing range model VDSC3656BSS dual fuel, 6 gas burners open face, and a single electric convection oven costing approximately $7,000. This oven had no frills, no electronic digital displays, just a good basic heavy duty range. This was a major investment in a kitchen appliance for our 7th new home. My husband was very resistant to making that type of investment, but I stated it’s a “Viking” and very dependable. The 6 gas burners were great (and still function) and the electric oven (although was running cooler than other cheaper oven and had to increase the temperature settings by 25 degrees to achieve correct temperature) functioned. That was up until 3/8/13 when the electric oven failed; the heating elements will not get hot.The oven on light turns on, the interior light turns on and the electric convection fans work but no heat to both (top and bottom) oven elements. On 3/11/13, a repairman was out and identified the defective part, the oven control (not the thermostat or the elements). The power is getting to the control but not passing through. The part was ordered the same day. There have been several follow up calls with the parts distributor. As of 4/9/13, there is still no replacement part. Both the repairman (a certified Viking repairman who has worked on Viking ranges for over 10 years) and I have been searching the internet and warehouses for this part.I emailed Viking, no response to the emails. I called Viking customer support and related the repair issues specifically noting the lack of (availability of) a replacement part and asked if there is a problem with this range. Viking stated that there is no recall or safety notices for this range and provided a name and phone number of a parts distributor. I forwarded this information to my repairman; however to date, 4/9/13, no replacement part. From internet blogs, this particular model with an electric oven (no heat to elements) is a common repair problem resulting in down time anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. Imagine a restaurant with a Viking range that is out of use for 6 weeks to 6 months! I am an individual who loves to cook and bake; Viking is breaking my heart! Okay, so the range is out for a month, I shouldnt complain compared to others out 6 months. However, an extended outage of any duration is not acceptable for professional ranges. A cheap range can be fixed generally the same week it is serviced, arent expensive ranges deserving of something much faster than 1-6 months? So what do I do with a $7,000 paper weight? I find it extremely difficult to recommend a “Viking” range. As of my posting today, the Consumer Affairs website has 266 complaints about Viking, numerous ones similar to mine. Is anyone considering a class action suit on this particular model for this particular repair problem? Maybe that would get some attention! In any event, the oven is down and out for the count. Next stop might be the scrap metal dealer! Viking what happened to you?

At first, we were thinking about Thermador, but the package that Viking offered with the microwave at the time coaxed us to go the Viking route so that we could have a Viking range and microwave. Were very happy with the range. It cooks phenomenally and bakes pretty evenly, which is really great. Plus, the way the dials light up at night looks pretty cool. But my favorite thing is the blue lights that light up under the lighting on the external part of the range.

We went to Coffmans and we were looking for a new stove. We chose between Wolf and Viking and we settled on Viking because they were top of the line and their unit came with a dishwasher. Its a very high-quality range and its working very well. We like its induction-type heating, the convection cooking for the oven, as well as its low-profile appearance. The dealer was very nice and cooperative. We werent told about the free dishwasher and he helped us get that. However, my wife is complaining about it not having a timer. Updated on 11/10/2021: I was prompted to respond to a previous review “privately” and feel my response should be “public” so I am requesting that this be linked to that previous complaint or minimally be made public as Viking’s public response was a deflection. The claim that it’s been sent to their escalation team is false as I have already been told by their in-house reps it’s been “escalated” for a the past week. Transparency is a good thing.Thank you for your response. After 9 months and numerous eta postponements I have been working with representatives within Viking aka Middleby Residential and have been told that our order was already expedited to your escalation team as of Tuesday November 9, 2021. In addition to speaking and emailing your internal representatives I have left a voice mail for Kevin ** -Viking President at ** to no avail. As of this evening 11/10/21 I have been emailed to direct all further inquires and questions to my local (NC) appliance dealer. Hmmm????? What??? I have filed formal complaints with BBB as well as this forum of ConsumerAffairs. I have also been contacted by Mississippi’s state Attorney Generals office today at 5:30 PM EST to provide them with more documentation. Which I will gather and forward tomorrow 11/11/21 -no problem. The issue at hand is: I AGREE WITH YOU that because of the upside down and unprecedented supply chain disruption the world has limped through the past two years demand is up and supply is down. Where we part is: y’all should be clear and truthful with your valued customers. Good grief we love your slate blues and your apple reds and would partner with you unflinchingly but when you deflect and push off candidness with punting etas month to month to month ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You’ve had my $36,343.96 for 9 months and are asking to hold it without delivering for 10-11 or more months. 3 out 6 appliances I have received are defective or damaged and I’d like to have to parts expedited to the repairman you’ve scheduled.Be clear with your customers. Stop taking new orders on refrigeration products if you can’t fulfill them. Work on your current paid in full orders and field the questions your customers have. We’re all in this together. Quit hiding behind the retail and supply chain layers. Total looking forward to hearing from your escalation team personally. Make it a conference call and loop everyone in. Viking has all my contact information… I know Kevin ** Viking President does for sure.Original Review: We purchased a suite of 8 kitchen appliances from an authorized Viking dealer in Feb. 2021. Viking aka Middleby Residential requires customers to sign a contract acknowledging 16-20 week turnaround and payment in full. We complied knowing it would take longer than the stated eta due to the pandemic and unsettled supply chain as well as paid $36k in full at time of order. After 6 months of waiting I started to press for delivery so our contractors could wrap up our kitchen remodel. At the end of Sept (8 months later) I received 6 of the 8 Viking components and three (3) of them were defective or damaged; the built-in oven has a defective exterior cooling fan, the exhaust vent has a defective speed control knob and we forgave the dented side panel on the dishwasher as it is hidden (although it appeared to be damaged before packaging for shipment). The real problem is the non-delivery of the 36 5 series refrigerator and 18 7 series freezer. After many emails and phone calls this past week I spoke with a Viking inside rep (Hannah W) today and she conveyed Viking is unable to source grill kits for their entire 5 series refrigeration line and has no information on availability for the parts needed for the entire 7 series line of refrigeration. This is basically what we suspected since June and had been given vague excuses and phantom etas that came and went every 4 weeks. I have tried to email Kevin ** Vikings president without success so today I left a voicemail for him at ** with my contact information as he needs to hear his customers concerns first hand. How is it that this manufacturer can continue to place orders and demand payment in full on products they know they cannot supply?? Is this not deceit?? I have asked Viking to stop selling their refrigeration until all previous paid orders are completed. I have asked that they suspend their advertising of these units while knowing they do not have materials on hand to complete. I have also asked that they stop requiring 100% upfront payment knowing they cannot fulfill these orders and are basically able to use their customers cash as interest free loans.I have filed a grievance with the BBB and the state of Mississippis Attorney General Lynn Fitchs office stating the above issues. Had Viking been upfront in the beginning and honest about availability, adjusted their payment policies to reflect the uncertain supply capabilities and provided repair parts for defective shipped appliances this would have felt more like a partnership instead of a grab and go sales deal.

We did some research and we were debating between Sub-Zero and Viking. Because of the layout of our kitchen, we couldnt fit a bigger fridge so we decided to go with Viking. Were happy that the freezer is at the bottom, but if an improvement can be made, we feel that the ice maker is not conveniently placed. We have to open the whole freezer to get the ice and theres a lot of cold temperature while were taking the ice out as well as the ice cubes having a tendency to fall off. But its very well-built and it shows high quality compared to other products. Its also backed up by a great warranty. As far as the refrigeration, were so far satisfied and would certainly recommend Viking to other people. We dont have any issues like we had with the range.I was very frustrated with the gas range that we have. I had a bad experience with that way Vikings customer service work. Communication was what really drove everything off. I called and there was a service scheduled, which was supposed to be within a one-week time frame. It turned out that we were without a gas range for almost a month. The people that Viking originally set up a schedule with, apparently, were booked up for over three weeks. So I had to call in and there wasnt a Viking customer service. They called and asked me if I would be okay with sending a different company. I had to call in and follow up what happened and then they scheduled my service with another company.

Upscale equipment has always been nice. It doesn’t matter what company, everybody is going to have a problem at some point. But having Viking distributor just about a mile away works out good for me. However, the door on the freezer and door on the refrigerator does not match. The finish on the door is totally different from the cooler. Otherwise, it’s a superb product. I got a good feedback on it so it’s a great and nice looking product with the exception of just a few hiccups. My favorite feature is the dual-fuel oven. My husband wanted a Viking Refrigerator so we bought and paid for it. Best Buy brought and installed it. But they left me with a noise as if I was standing on a runway and an airplane is operating on it. We could not turn on the TV and hear it. We had to shut off all the doors, and even then, we heard it. It was horrible. I called the dealer three times to come. They came, claimed that they fixed it, but they fixed it for two seconds and left. On the third time, I lost them completely and they wouldn’t come back to fix it so I called Best Buy and spoke to everybody there. They transferred me to the Viking office. Some lady said they can send me a repairman, but not till next week. I told her that they have to send somebody right away, but they did not. The day went by and I couldn’t get anybody because it was already evening. I called them the next morning and they finally had somebody from Viking called me. He found a third party and they came. But they left me with a wire hanging into the fan. It was when they transferred it, and that made the noise. At this point, I had a lemon because the fan was damaged. At Best Buy, even the person who sold it told me that his hands were tied and can’t do anything. The manager who came back from vacation was supposed to call me to tell me that they were exchanging the refrigerator, never called me. I had to do everything myself and went back to the store. They said I can choose something else. I chose the JennAir and I wanted to upgrade already. They said that they would come towards me, but I have to pay close to $500 more. I thought about it and calculated it. I also spoke to my son-in-law who just investigated which refrigerator was the best. He said that as long as I have to pay the difference, I might as well pay a little more and get the Sub-Zero. At the headquarters, Lionel was the only guy who was very nice. I talked to him and he called me back the next morning. He asked me what was my decision and I told him to pick the Viking ref up and take it out of here. They left me with a hole for two days and some of my food got spoiled. I got my Sub-Zero on the third day, and we are so happy we made the change. The experience with Viking was a nightmare. We were very unhappy and so aggravated. I also think that Best Buy was at fault here, and their installers. I will never buy one more item from them. We moved into a new house and wanted to get a new cooking range. We bought one from Viking, which is our second Viking range, and its all gas. Its the smallest of the 500 series and 30 inches in size. I like the way it works for the most part and the fact that it doesn’t have a lot of electronics on the front. The soft-closed door and the roller-bearing shelves are nice, too. The quality of our new range is pretty good. However, we’ve had two real and serious issues in the last six weeks that we’ve owned it. The first problem was that the cooling fan had a bad bearing. It was making a total racket and it was an issue right out of the box. But Kimball Electronics, one of Vikings factory authorized dealers, was able to replace the cooling fan. The second issue was that the oven would not light and it was very temperamental about getting the spark for the oven. But Kimball Electronics fixed that this week by putting in a new orifice where the gas comes into the oven and adjusting the air so the spark could ignite without spreading gas all over the kitchen. Kimbal Electroniics have been great and so far, we have been very pleased with Viking. We have been for many years and with our new range. We got the dishwasher special with that as well and the dishwasher has been good, too.

We were in the middle of a remodel at our house so we were buying a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a microwave for the counter. We looked at the Viking ones and we were kind of disappointed with them. They didnt live up to the Viking quality. Also, the salespeople there told us that they are actually made for Viking by another company because people want the Viking line and matching appliances. Nevertheless, Ive always liked Viking gas ranges because theyre most well known for their commercial type features. Ive liked the cooktop most of all because I like cooking with gas. In sum, my experience with Viking Ranges has been fantastic.

I love the quality of Viking Ranges. My husband had a restaurant before so we had some of their products. We picked it because there’s no electronic stuff. It’s very simple. We tried different stoves and they have electronic components in them and they went bad quickly. On the last one we had, the little plastic with all the stuff that they have where they push the button burned. So, we got fed up with it. Our favorite feature so far with our Viking is the burners. You can put four pots and pans, big ones at a time, and have enough space to cook without having to move anything. Also, the lady who helped us at the dealer was super nice. Not only did she know what she was talking about when we asked for stuff, she showed us a couple of them. Viking is worth the money that youre spending on it.

I wanted to get a Wolf Range, but my brick vent was one-quarter of an inch too big. We tried to shave it, but it wouldnt work. It had to be a 60-inch range so I went online and found Viking Ranges. They had the features that I liked, specifically the grill, the griddle, and the two separate ovens and convection current. Ive had it for a month now and its been great. I bought it from Texas Appliance and they handle the Wolf, Thermador, etc, but Viking has the best features. The racks in the oven automatically slide, unlike all the other ones where I had to pull them out. I also like the burners because they catch whatever we spill so it doesnt fall inside and its solid. The last one I had was from Garland and the stuff would drip through, so we had to lift everything up to clean it out. The quality is excellent and its worth what I paid for.

I like the qualities that the Viking Range has as well as the look. I chose it since I wanted more of an industrial look in my kitchen and a product that was mostly made in America. But I had a little disappointment. When the range was installed, it wasnt installed appropriately. I think it was set to propane when my home is on natural gas. Beyond that, I had to have four service calls because the oven was not working properly. It would come to temperature and then it would just shut off. I questioned my judgment in choosing to pay a premium for that appliance and then I have to do so many service calls to figure out whats wrong with it. The servicemen checked the stove then talked to Viking. They decided it required a specific solution and put that solution in place. They went away and then the next time I used the oven, it was clear that it hadnt been fixed. They went through a process of elimination to figure out what the problem was but it took some time. The good news is that the range works beautifully now and I am pleased with it.

The range has had several issue since being installed. 3 of the grates were warped, 2 have been replaced and one is still on back order. The LED lights above the knobs stopped working after one day and now the fan is making a banging noise when I use convection. When the repairman came to look at that the LED lights he noticed some pieces were missing inside the knob assembly, which are also on backorder. Just poor quality for a $6000 appliance. Will never buy Viking again.
