I have used Vikings many times in many homes in the past. I liked the way it functions, and it cooked even. I liked the way it looks, too. It is built well. The range tops and the ranges seem sturdy. I had a conversation with the regional Viking manager. Her name is Sue, local in Sonoma or Marin County. She was very helpful and very compassionate about our issues. As a result, she sent out a second technician to try to troubleshoot what we felt was the problem. They kept insisting that this was just how the Viking refrigerator sounded and sort of that was that.It would be nice if the knobs didnāt stick out so far on the rim. There is about a 4-inch piece of metal on the top that sticks out, so, aesthetically, it would be nicer if it fit back into the counter depth. Also, it would be nice if they manufactured some sort of a piece out of the stainless steel to go with the oven that fits in the crack behind the oven. I know that these ranges donāt all flushed to the wall because you have to have enough room for the plug to go into the outlet and enough room to attach the gas hose. So, it forces the range to stick out even a little further, then it creates a one to two inches behind where you are cooking. So, things can spill or splatter or go down in that hole. I could not get any help from anybody on that. We had to make something ourselves. They have a thing that they put underneath the front of the range to cover the gap where the legs are. They made something for that.
After being told by Viking, both to me and to Complete Appliance Service, that the electronic failure of both the griddle and left oven starters of my VGSC5486GSS Viking Range.would be covered, Viking denied the claim. It was to be covered under 3yrs plus 90 days on electric parts. This is my 2nd Viking range. I own a Viking dishwasher and wine cooler. I am building a new home and am concerned about Vikingās warranty. I have also called and left messages for Antonio.
The Viking Range works. My wife and I think its design looks really cool and shes heard great stories about the way it works. I also heard that the quality lasts a long time. My wife wanted a Viking, nothing else. She was shopping left and right for it, including seeing if she can get a used one. She walked into the Viking dealer where we purchased the range from and they had a sale of this particular range along with a free dishwasher. Our experience at the dealer was nice and easy. We just signed the bottom line and the range got picked up when we needed it to. Im not a professional chef, but with the Viking Range, it looks like Im in a professional kitchen. The controls on the burners seem to work a lot better than any other range Ive had before, starting from the simmer up to the high temperature. Im happy that I bought it.
I bought a refrigerator and a freezer from Viking Refrigerators because of their reputation. My favorite feature is the built-in lock. However, Im not satisfied with them because of the issues that were having and theyre coming tomorrow to fix them. The drain at the bottom of the refrigerator doesnāt drain correctly so it fills up with water inside below the meat compartment and sometimes it runs onto the floor. On the freezer, were having an issue with the icemaker. The service was the only contact I had with them. Our conversation went fine but the only problem was that Im in a rural area. I had to wait six weeks for them to come over to where this was located to do service. That part has been a bit of a hassle. It was frustrating just because of the service issue.
The range has had several issue since being installed. 3 of the grates were warped, 2 have been replaced and one is still on back order. The LED lights above the knobs stopped working after one day and now the fan is making a banging noise when I use convection. When the repairman came to look at that the LED lights he noticed some pieces were missing inside the knob assembly, which are also on backorder. Just poor quality for a $6000 appliance. Will never buy Viking again.
We were replacing our old Thermador and I assumed Viking was a fairly good product. I like the look of them but Iām a little disappointed. It is not very good and I would tell others to rethink their decision to buy one. My oven has been installed for two months and I have had repairmen here for the last two months as well. Hinges on the oven were bent. They finally came and fixed that. But they had to get the feet for the oven because they didnāt have them when they installed the oven. Now, Iām having a problem with my burners. It has taken me two visits and theyāre still not fixed. And every time they come out, there is a time period in between of two weeks. Then the repairman was telling me today that it is going to take probably another two weeks. When he came out previously, he seemed to have been of the forethought that what he was being told was not gonna fix it. And yet, he was still told to come out here and do it. So he came out here and did he was told but it still didnāt work. Now, they have to order all new burners. Its just ongoing after two months. Itās been a roundabout, circular motion here with this whole thing. I was very angry to begin with but now, I donāt even know anymore. Itās two months and $10,000, and I havenāt really even used the oven. Viking also needs to be more responsive. Initially, they kept calling to ask if everything was good and I kept saying no. It was great that they called but then it wavered and petered out. Viking has dropped off as far as calling to see if anything has been done and now, itās me dealing with the repair people.
Viking ranges are so expensive and buying one was not our goal. But we just remodeled out kitchen and when we went into the showroom to start buying all the appliances, we walked by a Viking range and it was the most beautiful thing we ever saw. My husband loves to cook and we thought we had to have that. So we spent the money and bought one because of how it looked. Also, the brand name is nothing but the best. Viking is synonymous with quality and youre gonna lay down some bucks for it but it is worth it.The reps at the Viking dealership were super great. It was a location where they sell several brand names but the rep that helped us couldnt have been more helpful, nice, and informative. We bought the one with the four burners and the grill in the middle. My husbands favorite feature is the grill and mine is the baking oven. I like the way it has the latch pull out which are like on rollers. The quality of the range is beautiful and our experience with it has been great so far. But Im concerned about the way that little vent that is at the back of the cook area is placed because when it bends out, it kinda hits on our backsplash and over time, that heat at the scene may be an issue. I wish the guy told us that when we bought the range, but that is not a complaint. We bought the Viking dishwasher as well. We had a guy come out and he said that they are great dishwashers but he hates to work on them because they are so complicated. Youve got to pull things apart. But he said that he doesnāt have a lot of problems with them other than it sucks when he has to work on them. As a consumer, we bought it because it has the bottom rack, the top rack, and this little rack underneath that you pull out where you can put utensils or knives. That is brilliant. I show everybody that feature and every person Ive shown it to said that they wish their dishwasher had that. So it had an extra feature that, for a consumer, is a winner. We almost bought an under-the-cabinet-microwave-drawer from Viking, too. But we didnāt do it because in the Viking ones, the buttons are on top so, there wasnāt going to be enough room once you put your granite countertop on. People donāt generally put those low so you cant really get your hand to touch them. So, we went with a Sharp microwave drawer because its feature was you pop open that little drawer for all the buttons. So, it was better and easily accessible. Aside from that, we would have bought all Viking.
Viking stove VES3064BSS electric 4 burner - Is anyone having problems with burning food? My oven runs really hot. I have to adjust the temperature and the time on all the things I put into the oven and its still over cooking my food. I had a repair man in for my dishwasher and he checked it and said it could be the hinges and also checked the temperature in my oven and it runs way over what the temperature is supposed to be. I feel the same as others, Viking does not back their product. I love to cook and bake and this stove has been a disappointment!
Viking has been around for a while. We knew about the quality when we chose it. The rep was very knowledgeable and had a lot of experience, but it probably came down to when we knew about the really good price on which we got it. The quality of the range is okay although its not as well-thought-through as we might have thought it would be. The inability to effectively clean it is the most disappointing part of it. The technician who came out and serviced it knew what he was doing. He once said this is a known issue, and it just came with the range. I love my grill though, and Iām satisfied with my Viking range.
We wanted a built-in refrigerator and something that would be good quality. We were gonna go with Jenn-Air but we heard that the compressors on the Vikings were better. We were also looking at Sub-Zero but we heard that there was a lot of maintenance that needed to be done every year for their compressors. The people that we talked to said that Viking didnāt have that sort of maintenance requirement and we heard that Viking was really good. So, we went with them. We were also looking for something that was fairly wide and the one that we got from Viking was a pretty big unit. We have it for a while now and our experience has been good. Its quality is okay although some things get really frozen at the top of the refrigerator. There was also a squeak in the door, and people came out and fixed it. After that, we havent heard as much squeaking as before and the refrigerator has been doing all right.
I liked the Viking refrigerator. I heard about it from a friend and the design is nice. But the quality when I first got it was awful. It had a leak in the freezer and they fixed it, but they replaced it and we ended up getting a new one. So far, its been great.
After reading these complaints, I feel really foolish being included in this massive collection of consumers who have purchased these products that perform so poorly. No one should ever have to make this error again. Stove, dishwasher, and range aggravate me on a daily basis. My only hope is a class action lawsuit for deceitful business practice that will redeem this unfairness.
I absolutely love the Viking range. Besides the look, I love the cooktop in it. I ordered extra racks and got all the rollout racks, which I love for baking multiple sheets of cookies at one time. I also love all the different ranges that you can put your oven on with the convection, which can be the low, the medium, or the high. It gives you so many options. All the burners come off so nicely and I havent had problems cleaning it. People should get Viking if they were thinking about it.
Purchased top of the line Viking fridge for 10K 3 years ago and about 9 months after purchase the crisper drawers were collapsing down onto the bottom shelf of the refrigerator making about half the fridge unusable. Viking sent out their service company and changed the middle shelf which the crisper drawers hang from and changed the slider brackets. Worked fine for about 3-4 months and then the same thing happened again. Viking came out and changed the parts again with exactly the same type of parts. Worked fine for about 4-5 months and then the drawers started collapsing down again when you would open a drawer. Well this went on for 3 more additional services and I think at about the 3rd or fourth service Viking said the fridge was out of warranty! LOL!I informed them that you cant replace defective parts with the same exact defective parts until the warranty runs out and then say the fridge is out of warranty. So they sent a repair company back out who charged me $149.00 to look at the crisper drawers laying at the bottom of the fridge and said yep theyre broke and left. Then they sent a different service company out and they changed the parts again and again it failed after several months. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and I rigged a plastic spacer and thick brass washer behind the middle shelf to kind of wedge the crisper drawers in place. That has held up but was only suppose to be a temporary fix until Viking came up with a permanent solution. Kim from Middlebery that owns the Viking brand said they are working on it, that was back in February and now its radio silence 3 months later. Kim asked me at that time do I want them to come out and fix the shelf till the engineers come up with a solution. I said no my Rig is working so far and no sense having Viking come out and waste both our time and money installing more defective parts. Well no good deed goes unpunished cause it looks like Im stuck with my fancy refrigerator being rigged up so that its functional. And oh by the way the crisper drawers are now all cracked and the sliders broken from falling down so many times. This is frustrating, embarrassing and not right, to spend ten thousand dollars on whats suppose to be a superior brand and have it fall apart and get no company support! Our KitchenAid fridge lasted 20 years and we could have bought the exact replacement for 2 k less! But we wanted to upgrade but instead got a tremendous downgrade. If you want a built in stick with Sub Zero. Thats why my son in law Vince The Builder only uses Sub Zero in his multi multi million dollar homes he builds. He will soon be doing a video of my fridge for his 200K instagram followers to show his clients why he wont use Viking appliances. I hope this saves the next person from going thru the same ordeal as me.
I have had my Dual Fuel Viking Range for almost 16 years. I love it. My only complaint is that the self clean function on the large side has never worked. I had it worked on several times in the beginning. If I had it to do over I would have forced the guy to make it right but we built our home and I had a million things to address. The self clean function of my range missed my radar screen. I tried it again the other day and shockingly, STILL doesnt work. :) But now I hear constant ticking. Any suggestions? I would love to stop the clicking and I wish someone had a suggestion for making this feature work. Thanks!
Its a New Year but I have an old and all to common complaint about a Viking Professional 36 Dual Fuel Range with an electric oven Model VDSC3676BSS. The ignitors for the gas range did not work when the stove was installed in 2007. They were replaced under warranty. Four years later, the spark module has failed again. I can see from all the post that this is far from unusual. I cannot recommend Viking appliances to anyone. Quite the opposite. Save yourself money and trouble and buy another brand.
I have had my Viking Range since last September and I have had technicians out here eight times and my 36 inch range is still leaking gas, they canāt figure it out, so if you want a range that works, donāt choose Viking! I spent $500 to have Thanksgiving delivered to my home, and Christmas wasnāt any better.... What holiday will I NOT be cooking for next. Iād like to say it looks good, but the front of it already has some rust spots/pitting marks right in front of the burners! I was trying to decide between Wolf or Viking; I work with high-end kitchens a lot in my business, clearly I chose badly. Donāt make the same mistake! And seriously never use Appliances Connection; they are awful, rude customer service and no follow-up, not a customer centric company!
My niece purchased a home with a Viking refrigerator under warranty. Freezer stopped working. Repair person said the parts are covered by warranty, but the labor would cost $1800 to repair the freezer!!! I have a 20 year old subzero that has only had to have the fan replaced...a $100 part. I have read over the complaints and Viking is a below standard fridge.
Viking Model VCBB536ELSS has been a nightmare. This is an $8,000 refrigerator. Constant ice buildup. Finally, it died completely after many visits from repairman trying to thaw the back of the unit out and replacing motors. Viking agreed to replace for free. They even extended the warranty for me because it was 8 months of dealing with this nightmare. I have had the new one since November 2020 and the SAME THING IS HAPPENING again!! I cannot stress enough what a pain and expense with wasted food this has been.
My designer recommended Viking, and weve already had two problems with it, so its really not my most favorite product in the world. Some type of sensor froze over and it lacked control. I had to throw all the contents of the refrigerator and freezer twice. Its been repaired now. But it took over a week to get it fixed. I would not buy a Viking again.
My wife got a superb deal on the Viking range that we bought. It was an open box-deal and we got it for less than half the normal price. Also, I like the shape, it looks good and it goes with the industrial look that we wanted to put in out kitchen. And the reps answered the questions I had and gave me the answers I was looking for. But there are some things that I would have changed on the range if Ive known it, but we did not have much choice when we bought this thing. For example, its difficult to tell when the oven has reached a certain temperature. Theres a little blue light but it goes on and off anyway. So were going to have to invest in another thermometer so we know whats the right temperature. But Im satisfied with what the range does. Its a good product and it has a good reputation.
The range is stainless, heavy-built, and more commercial than residential. I got it through a local distributor but it was damaged upon arrival. The stainless trim below the oven door was dented and it took about two months to finally get the part out of them. I was disappointed in the support I got from them. There was follow up, but then we had to get back to them after not hearing them for a month. They kept on ordering the wrong parts. But other than that, Vikings quality is pretty decent.
Had Viking stove top for 3 years without any problems. One day spilled about 3 tablespoons of water over a flame adjuster knob which somehow shorted the wiring inside!!! Then it seems in the entire Northwest suburbs of Chicago, there is only ONE Viking authorized repair service. So you guessed it... they charge astronomical prices. Went to a highly peer-rated appliance repair service that was a lot less costly. They stated Viking is slow as snails in giving up replacement parts unless you work through their authorized repair shops. Sure enough, its been almost 2 months without parts shipped. Dont buy Viking if living near Chicago.
I have been using a Viking range for a month. Its a good quality brand. I like the price too. The salesperson at the appliances store was knowledgeable in general. While its plain, it looks nice.
The refrigerator was packaged well. The wall preparation information for this cabinet depth model was not accurate in that one of the two bolts used for anti-tipping did not reach the block on the wall. Dimensions given were not correct for the block (2x4) installation. The refrigerator holds temperature very precisely and the interior LED lighting is terrific. Shelves adjust nicely and so do the drawer units. All shelves and cubbies in the door adjust nicely. The one objection we have is that the refrigerator is quite noisy as refrigerators go. Even the owners manual mentions the whirring and other sounds that the unit makes. For a product that costs this much, one would think that it could be quieter. We will just have to get used to it!!
I went into Ferguson looking for a 36-inch wide range that was a Wolf but they had that Viking Range model in there and they were trying to clear it out. The director of appliances of the whole chain was the one there and he went over everything. He explained the differences between the Wolf and the Viking then I called my wife who called the builder. Itās wider than what we planned out for the unit, but the builder said that if we wanted to do it, they would make it work. My wife came right over to look at it. She liked it and we ended up buying it on the spot right there. Then we had to buy the hood and the motor. It was a very good experience but we called in several months ago and they were supposed to send us the thermometer but we havenāt received it. Outside of that, itās been a very good unit. We had the opportunity to use the Viking in summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. It works great for us.
We love our Viking appliances. We dont regret spending that money. I like how high our refrigerator is. It feels like Im at a grocery store. Theres items at the top shelf. It makes it like I know whats in my refrigerator. And I love the design. The people at Viking were also very professional. But we had some issues with the installation because we went with a general contractor, and they installed some stuff wrong because they dont deal with Viking often. So if I were to do this over again, I would have somebody who knows Viking. The contractor couldnt open the door. We couldnt open the door. We couldnt figure it out. And we had to call Viking and then they sent somebody to open the door for us.
I love my Viking range and it is a very high-end quality product. However, not the customer service at Viking. When I had a problem with the warranty and me registering my product, the issue wasnt quickly resolved. I had made several phone calls before I was able to make a date for someone to come out and look at the issue that I was having. I was being pushed around a little bit because I never registered my product. So, they said that they were gonna register it. I called back a week later and they hadnt done it. Its something that I could have done on my end, but they said that they were going to do it. I had to say, Whats going on? And then they finally worked it out. So, once registering the Viking was taken care of, I was okay with it. But the customer service wasnt the greatest at the time of getting my problems resolved.
I have owned the Viking Professional gas range for about 16 years. When it was first delivered the oven door was adjusted wrong, the glass had slid leaving an 1/8 opening and closed improperly. Viking factory representative told me that the door adjustment wasnt covered under warranty. After paying $5,000 and no warranty for shoddy work. I called Viking representatives in almost every state. Finally found a dealer that gave me information how to correct the problem myself. I had a local serviceman out several times that charged for service and said, Dont expect warranty service. That is exactly why he stopped carrying Viking gas ranges. The range has never cooked or baked correctly from the day it was installed. Viking only gets a 1 star because it is the lowest I can give them. I would never buy another Viking product.
Weāve just moved into a new build and we got to pick the appliances, and the contractor ordered everything for us. I like the fact that the Viking ranges rolling shelf that can roll in and out and I can actually adjust the height of it because a lot of ovens that Iāve seen before were fixed in a certain place. So, thatās handy and it seems to cook evenly. We like everything about it - the way it looks, the little lights that come on it, where the knobs are, and it also functions well. Weāre very happy with it. Its of very good quality and its worth spending the extra money.
My brother has a Viking range in his house that he built 10 years ago, and they loved it. I was doing a kitchen remodel and looked at a few different options, and I liked the reputation of Viking and the look of their range compared to some of the competitors. Furthermore, their warranty was better than some of the competitors. Once I figured out that one of the burners on the top was meant for boiling water because it puts out a bigger flame, I have loved that feature.
I believe I can beat all negative reviews that I have read this evening... my Viking almost killed me tonight. It had been pulled out from its location into the kitchen because it had ceased to operate during the night... After a lengthy process we found a vendor to fix the problem. Whilst waiting for the part to be delivered tomorrow I said we must open the doors because as we have been told if a fridge is not functioning the doors should be open to prevent odors etc. As I opened the bottom drawer the fridge started to topple on top of me... my reaction was to try to stop it. However a 2 inch jut out in my counter caught the top door and prevented it from falling on top of me.Everything crashed out of the fridge and I was surrounded by broken glass etc. We tried to push it back in place but it is on wheels and the disaster was about to be compounded... trying to hold it in place we called the local fire dept... They arrived and carefully pushed it back into place. I have no words for this piece of junk... excuse me - very expensive piece of junk. Lucky to be alive tonight!
At first, we were thinking about Thermador, but the package that Viking offered with the microwave at the time coaxed us to go the Viking route so that we could have a Viking range and microwave. Were very happy with the range. It cooks phenomenally and bakes pretty evenly, which is really great. Plus, the way the dials light up at night looks pretty cool. But my favorite thing is the blue lights that light up under the lighting on the external part of the range.
I have bought Viking appliances for my past two kitchen renovations and I have to say I am disappointed in the quality of my latest Viking range; especially when I compare it to same Viking range we had before. The latest range makes a loud bang sound whenever we turn the oven on and it is heating up. It sounds almost like a small explosion and when it first happened, my wife and I thought something seriously happened with the oven and that it was faulty. We had a Viking technician come out to look at it and he informed us that it is becoming increasingly common with Viking ranges and that there is nothing much we can do about it.I have to say that paying a huge premium on an appliance and being told that there is little we can do about it is not a very satisfying answer. It is also embarrassing whenever we have company over and they hear the bang go off with our oven and are surprised to learn that is something we put up with every day especially after spending so much money on a high-end item. I am not exactly sure what can ever be done about this but I must say that if or when we renovate our next kitchen, I cannot say that Viking will be high on my list as appliances to purchase.
The many repair people we have met since we bought this Viking Dishwasher in 2014 love to tell us how its impossible to troubleshoot, and breaks all the time. We replaced our old and very good Viking Dishwasher- that dated back to 2005 or so with one from 2014 when it needed a new pump at the urging of a sketchy repair guy. For this newer one we needed to rinse thoroughly the dishes prior and use all kinds of boosting products. (Lemi Shine). We had frequent service calls. It now needs $800 worth of repair for possibly 1) Moisture sensors, 2) drain pump or a 3) new panel, maybe. If its all three then its more than 1,400 dollars. These are repairs no reputable company can do within 3 -4 weeks. But we did have one guy come, charge us $125 (less than the going rate so we were thrilled, for a moment) and ask for stop tips. But he didnt fix it. And then he left to go on a cruise. Literally. We use this place as a part-time house so this is the second vacation we have spent doing dishes for the whole household + guests by hand. That and calling Dishwasher repair people. Sometimes they come and fix it and it breaks again, a few moments after they drive away and lose cell service, conveniently. The consultations in our area with reputable companies a minimum of $150 without a repair -- just to look--even if you have had someone else diagnose. They still refuse to bring anything on the truck to help fix it in one shot. The old one was great. It was loud and sounded like a hurricane but it really washed dishes. Its 20/20 hindsight but I bet the repair guy knew all this as he counseled us so hard to take it off our hands. The new ones are not good.I heard Viking switched to a new manufacturer (I hear its Asko now, but I do not know), or to a lesser quality from that manufacturer. Once they are (expensively) repaired they can last a while--but this is all rumor. In the meantime they are impossible to troubleshoot and you can analyze the manual all you want, nothing works. You cannot even manually drain it. So I recommend only buying this if you are actually an appliance repair person yourself or have one in the family. Kind of like owning a vintage automobile. But not nearly as fun. Not exactly a wind in your hair kind of experience. More like a dishpan hands one. While you look outside thinking of all the things youd rather be doing. So in short, park your ego and do not buy this machine. Unless you really love to do dishes by hand while you look at a Viking label in your kitchen. You can thank me. We finally decided to buy a Sears Kenmore with a stainless steel front and a 5-year service warranty. I added that to never pay that $150 dollar service fee for no work for a long time. Including installation, delivery and the 5-year warranty it cost less than the estimated repair cost of this one. Oh and there were no guarantees on the repair. And I did tell you the repair guy is on a cruise until after we leave. This review was based on Viking Model 032715-0000. PS. Its hard to tell from the images I posted but the bottom is flooded. Drain is cleaned, as are pipes checked. You cannot reset it to get it to drain following instructions in the manual. Note huge pile-up of dishes on counter. This has been our life this vacation. Hurray for Sears. Thank you! We cannot wait.
Ive built a few houses myself and somewhat custom kitchens in them, and Ive known about Viking Ranges for years. I always liked the Viking product and the experience purchasing online was very good. Before I shopped, I went on the website and navigated through it, looking at what features they had and what I was interested in with respect to packages that were available. I bought the package which includes the refrigerator, a range, a dishwasher and an icemaker. After that, I was directed towards where I purchased. The supplier did a very good job of walking me through my options and my rebate options, which was something I hadnāt thought of, and it saved me some good money. Im putting a new kitchen in and the range is not up and running yet, but I have plugged it in. I love the LED lights that are displayed on the front, so that was really cool. I have a Wolfe upstairs in my kitchen and it doesnāt have the features this one has.
Ive had issues with igniting my Viking stove. Ive also had some gas smells from the oven. Still, Vikings reps were responsive and helpful. I had a good experience with their customer service.
I used to live in another house that was already built by someone else and they had Viking appliances. I am used to Viking and I didnāt have any problems back then and I was happy with the appliances. But now, Iām having trouble with the new appliances and mainly with the refrigerator. I had it replaced in March because of a water leakage and the new one is doing exactly the same. It is noisy, too. I tried to get the new one back in November from last year. And then, they sent me the fridge but not the freezer because the freezer was working right. They said they will match them because theyāre independent units, but when the guy opened the box, it didnāt match. The handle and a couple of things that you can see were different. If youāre having your freezer beside your fridge, you want the handles to be the same height.I had to talk to Viking for them to take back the fridge. They had to arrange if I had a new freezer because they didnāt have the previous model in stock since they stopped doing it. They sent me both a freezer and a fridge, and within four months, Iām having the same issue again. The technician who came to fix it was the one who came five times for the previous unit and he said there was nothing else he can do. He said he did everything that was possible to switch, to change, to check if itās working, and it is still the same. When he was here a couple of months ago, he said that Viking was having a lot of problems with the fridge and all their refrigerators were having the same issues. They donāt even know what is going on. The technician used to be a Viking technician and because Viking is having a lot of problems and customers are complaining about their fridge, he moved to another company. And the most recent time I called Viking, the same technician came to my house, but he was working for a third party who is giving service to Viking. Iām so disappointed and Iām tired of having a technician every four months and take everything out of the refrigerator for him to work on it for more than two hours.
Ive had Viking products before and I heard about the Viking refrigerator from friends and people whove had Viking appliances. My son-in-law works for a company thats owned by Viking, so I got the friends-and-family deal, and it was a great deal. I like the French doors. In fact, this is the only slide-in refrigerator that Viking makes, and it was perfect for my kitchen thats relatively small. I just couldnt justify going up to a commercial grade refrigerator with a small kitchen. I also love the components of the freezer units. There are different areas where I can freeze things. Its very compact and efficient.I had a few questions regarding the refrigerator and the rep pointed out how to do the adjustments. I had called the Viking headquarters in Tennessee and asked for a hard copy version of the manual, even though its available online, but I never received it. Thats an oversight on their part, but I should just go ahead and print out the manual off of the internet. But other than that, Im very happy with the refrigerator. Its great. Its perfect for my needs and its a good-looking refrigerator, too.
Weve had our Viking for years now since we renovated our kitchen. I love the look of it as well as the induction cooktop. It is incredible. But in the last year, we spent thousands of dollars on getting both the panels of our induction cooktops replaced. The guy that I called at Viking was awesome and he helped get it through. That one was covered under warranty. But there was a stocktake that happened right before Thanksgiving and Viking shut down for it. That meant that parts didnāt ship for weeks and weeks. Who shuts down a cooking warehouse for stocktake the week before Thanksgiving? Itās the most important food holiday in the entire country. What kind of management decision was that? It was insane. We didnāt get the part for our range until after Thanksgiving. We got the first side fixed just before Christmas. And then about three months ago, the other one went out and. That wasnāt under warranty anymore and that cost us over $1,300. The same thing happened with the part too. The guy gave the part but Viking sent the wrong one. The guy came and installed it, but it didnāt work. He then got another part. It came back and it still wasnāt working. He finally figured out that time that they sent the wrong part. The guy came back a third time. It was like a complete saga. I had to be home four times to get the second side fixed. Viking range is incredibly expensive. We probably couldāve bought a range for a third of the price. I expected this thing to last for 30 years and not have a problem with it. But since these induction panels started going out, it had been a nightmare. The other one that was replaced under warranty the other day is doing something funky. We have to keep an eye on it because it has a 12-month warranty on it. Also, my understanding from the text is that there are only a couple of companies in the world that make induction boards. Whatever products you buy, youāre basically getting the same induction board in there. And this one is the best. But it still seems like there are some issues with the technology. At this point in time, itās been very disappointing overall. You donāt expect to pay for a top-of-the-line range to have to then deal with this repeatedly. When the range is working, itās wonderful. I love it! I just donāt love that it keeps breaking and it cost me a fortune to get it fixed. It is unacceptable. The interesting thing is the company weāve been dealing, Appliance Pros, has been pretty great although it was frustrating having to call and be told that Viking was shut down or the part was not yet shipped. We felt bad for the guy who came and fixed the last issue we had. He made four visits for one repair that could have been done in two visits. Im dissatisfied with Viking.
I like the space of my Viking refrigerator. itās big enough and I also like the lights. There are a lot of drawers, and itās wide enough for a big tray, and for a box of pizza. And if you have a cake or something, it will fit. The people at the Viking dealership were also courteous and on time. Any question I have, they answer. Michael made it very easy to buy it and to deliver it.
I do like my range so far. It heats my food which the oven is supposed to do. It feels sturdy, reliable and doesnt have a lot of bells, buttons and whistles. It looks as though it will do what its supposed to do for the next 20 years. My expectation is that because it is expensive, Im going to have it for a long time. It is easy to clean. Im not a big cook, but my understanding from people who do is that its important to have the temperature consistent inside of the oven. Thats one of the things that Viking is known for - even heating. So if ever I take up baking, Ill find that to be true.
I havent used my Viking range enough yet, but the product quality is great. The team dealer was good and Id recommend them.
Installed a Viking kitchen including dishwasher 4 years and 11 months ago. Dishwasher failed just short of 5 years. Viking service came out & advised that electrical components, wiring harness and rubber seal failed. I paid $180 for service call and Viking refused to help in any way to repair the dishwasher. Service advised me that replacement was the only practical option as multiple repairs necessary would be cost prohibitive. We are very disappointed in Viking quality (except for range). Purchase Viking products at your own risk is my advice. Many better options are available in the price range they market their products in.
Viking dishwasher (we have an all Viking kitchen) has disappointed me twice now in 5 years of ownership. Hoses that are internal to the cabinet just come off which results in leaks. Since this model has a catch pan, a float will result in the dishwasher staying in drain mode. Ive found that short non-barbed plastic nipples will allow hoses to come off over time. Poor design on what otherwise could have been a nice unit since it did a great job cleaning dishes. I just purchased a new unit from another company.
I have a Viking four burner range with convection oven. In the 13 years I have owned this I have changed all the igniters twice, the igniter control module once and the oven door hinges twice. The latest breakdown is that the baffle under the oven floor detached due to rust, damaging the burners and ignitor. I called to make a warranty claim - Lifetime warranty against rust, it says in my owners manual. I called customer service and was advised with Viking this warranty only applies to the stainless steel parts... the parts that dont rust. Company does not stand behind their product. DO NOT BUY VIKING!!!
Viking Ranges is all over and I know itās a very good range so I went with them. Im happy with its quality and I like their six burners. Also, Iāve never had a gas oven so Iām happy with that too. The people I bought the range from was Ferguson, and I had some issues when it was delivered. There was a part where the oven door shut and we couldnāt get the light to go off. I had to call Ferguson, then they had to notify Viking so they could come out and fix it. It was evidently a factory flaw. It took about a couple of days to get someone out. Nonetheless, I had an excellent experience. I would encourage my friends to seriously consider purchasing Viking appliances.
I spent almost $1000 on a Viking Microwave/Convection Oven - this was a terrible mistake. Service techs have been out 6 times repairing fuses etc. The control panel also broke which trips my circuit breakers. A new panel costs around $500. Ridiculous. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT buy a Viking microwave, especially the ones that go over your stove. They get funked up with so much grease and dont ventilate at all.
I always wanted a Viking Range. I love it and its quality is really good. I love to cook and I enjoy every aspect of the range. Plus, the team at the Viking dealer was good.
Oven was purchased 2013, we had to move out of the house for a year after purchasing the range. Now Viking tells us we need a new motherboard to the tune of $657.00. Really? We can buy a different stove for that much. The oven goes on broil no matter what you set the oven on and the circulating fan runs even when the oven is off. Very disappointed in this quality product. Viking tells us the warranty has expired, just not right!
I bought a fridge and dishwasher back in 2011. The fridge was fine, however, the dishwasher was just dreadful. After going through several channels, a Viking rep told me to pull it out and sell it. Eventually, the store where I bought it ended up replacing it. I then opted for a Miele dishwasher. In June 2013, I decided to try again with Viking. I ordered a range top, range hood with fan, and warming drawer. The range top had to be replaced as it arrived very badly scratched and dented. It was yet another ordeal to get it replaced. The warming drawer is sitting all apart on my living room floor. Ive never had the chance to use it because the cabinet rubs against the drawer and screeches metal to metal when trying to use it.The Viking rep sent out a panel to be screwed into the base of the drawer to keep it flat but that did not work. Now we have another part ordered but Viking has the flippant attitude of telling us they have no idea when the part will arrive. In order to complete the remodel of my kitchen I needed double ovens and a microwave. I chose Jenn Air, and could not be happier with their products. Also, their customer service is outstanding. Viking is definitely the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is just horrendous.
When the door of the refrigerator in the house that we bought fell off when weāre opening it, we called Viking. They offered to replace the refrigerator at no additional cost, which was nice. So far, it is working well and the door is staying on. Other than that, our whole kitchen is all Viking.
We completely renovated our kitchen with new cabinets, marble counters, and all Viking Pro stainless steel built in appliances with the sole exception being the Bosch dishwasher. In the 10 years since we purchased the appliances, we have had repeated problems, year after year, with the double ovens (VED0127SS), microwave (VMOR205SS), nat. gas cooktop (VGSU1626BSS), cooktop downdraft (VIPR161SS), and refrigerator (VCSB423DSS). We paid $19,115 for what we thought were the top of the line appliances. Their service providers do not help much, and their customer service is terrible and useless. In hindsight, we should have kept our GE Profile appliances that came with the original home purchase and had no problems. Viking claims to have very satisfied customers but I have not encountered one. I will go out of my way to not recommend Viking appliances to all including my enemies.
We bought a new house and Viking appliances came with it. One of those appliances was a refrigerator and Ive found that the layout and functioning bit of it has been fine. Its of good quality and it has nice hardy doors. However, I have two issues with the freezer that will make me not wanna buy that product again. First, when I open up the door at the bottom where the ice maker slides out, the whole drawer comes out with it because of the magnets at the front. If the icebox is full, the little metal arm thing that comes down knocks all the ice off. Ice goes all over the floor and the back of the freezer and thats a major pain. We have hardwood floors and so when the ice falls on it, we cant feel like we can just leave it. Another issue I have is that when the pump turns on to pump water into the ice machine. Itās super loud, like really loud. You can hear it across the whole house. While we can tell itās filling, all the other pumps weve ever had for other houses that weve owned have been super quiet. We couldnt even hear the water running. I will not buy that particular model again because of these two issues. Nevertheless, the freezer keeps things cold and it works really well. I think itās a good quality product but the ice maker and water pump are poorly designed.
My family moved into a new home with nice-looking Viking appliances in the kitchen. We only experienced minor malfunction of the refrigerator in the 1st year. After 14 months, or about 7 weeks ago, the range knob that controls the range fan motor stopped working, and I contacted Viking warranty service a week later. A local authorized repair shop was quickly assigned the job and they determined they have to replace the knob, and they need to order it through Viking for that, in order to comply with Viking warranty policy. And I was told to wait about 3-4 days.A week later, I called the repair shop only to find out the knob is on back order, and I need to wait 2 more weeks. And 2 weeks later, it was still not invoiced through Viking parts, and now 6 weeks later, the range is still not repaired!!! And the shop has no idea/no control over when the part will come in. They also told me in one case, a customer had to wait a year and 2 months for some parts to come in! It had been very frustrating not having a working range in the kitchen! It is even more so to think Viking warranty service is so lousy and unreliable! I am so disappointed how long I have to wait (so far) for warranty service for a common appliance! If I have to pick new appliances, I will not pick Viking.
My wife had heard about Viking Ranges for years through word of mouth and she had always wanted one. We liked the fact that Viking had six top burners and a fairly good sized oven. We liked the professional quality of the range itself and weāre very satisfied. Purchasing it was quite a pleasurable experience. We had a very knowledgeable sales lady. She showed us several models and we selected one. She was helpful too in getting it purchased and delivered. The Viking range is a very nice product and we would definitely recommend it.
I have a Viking Dual Fuel range for 6 years and have had innumerable repairs. Recently, I spent $450 for a new igniter and saw how much different it was than the old one - the service man offered that the originals were no good. I have also needed parts in recent years and you are sent off to their distributor (Carl **) who never answers the phone. Do not buy Viking appliances!
I like the aesthetics of the Viking Range and the way it fits in the kitchen. Itās also decent quality. There are higher-end ones but Iām not one thatās gonna spend that kind of money, and even this is overkill. But this would be a better choice. Also, at the time that we bought it, there was a rebate on the range with the hood so that also persuaded us a bit.
Viking has top quality and I love it. Also, itās simple to use. I had a LG previously and it had all the million different settings and bells and whistles, but I never used any. I also had a LG refrigerator that was a lemon and it stopped working after about a year and a half, and the dealer was really difficult to work with. But every call that I made to Viking so far has been answered right away and theyāve been very helpful. I called them once to get the correct model numbers for the product registration and then I also did two follow-up calls to the parts department because my 1-year old slammed into the freezer and dented it. So, I had to order the freezer door. And it was really easy to do. I would highly recommend them.
I purchased a new Viking refrigerator model number vcff036ss in 2007. I need a replacement part, 021881ā000, which is the control panel, as the refrigerator wonāt turn on. Viking has had the part on back order for 5 months, essentially obsoleting my very expensive refrigerator after 11 years. Why would anyone take that risk?
We went to a showroom to look at the Viking unit and the reps there were very nice. However, the salespeople on the floor dont know what theyre selling because theyre not well-versed in the high-end units. Also, the delivery people left a lot to be desired. They couldnāt hook the range up so I had to get my own plumber. They wanted to leave the range right on the walkway or take it back. Other than that, Ive had my Viking Range for about six weeks and it works well. The oven heats well and its a well-built unit.
I used to have a Viking oven so I trusted Viking and that was why I bought the Viking range. My husband ordered it and everything was smooth. The range is a great product but the stove-top is heavy. I clean it after I cook but once I touch the water on that, it gets rusted easily. But thatās the only thing I donāt like. If I purchase the next one, Iām going to buy something thats easy to take care of.
Viking is a good higher end brand. Its not as expensive as some of the ultra-high-end brands. When we decided to do the renovation this year, we put in all of Viking appliances. Im really happy with them. As I was cleaning the stove the other night, I really like it. Its easy to clean. It looks more of a restaurant style kitchen. It looks impressive. It feels good. Its good stuff. It boils faster than the range that we used to have, which is great. I love it. We had a slight scratch on the door and no questions asked, they came out and replaced it. Everything worked with the rebate. I didnt have to fight for it. It was a great experience.
If you have invested in a Viking Oven or Range - you know that it is just that - an INVESTMENT. Or at least it is supposed to be. A $7,000 oven should not have any issues, not at 1 year or even at 5 years, frankly, with nothing but normal domestic use. I understand that the warranty is expired - and we didnt expect a completely free solution. Admittedly, I am severely disappointed that a name like this doesnt stand behind the product for ten years! Our expectation was that the company could at least have a certified service technician it recommends - at a reasonable Viking supported rate. Not referring us to a technician that costs $200 JUST to come out and look at the oven - not even DO anything!? They are viking certified and cant tell over the phone if there is any common problems - of course - it will be $200 to come out for what will probably take 10 minutes. Then there will be the time to order a part and then come back out at $50 per 30 minutes for labor. The reason we spend more up front on quality is to not have these issues. Its a shame that as I look online I see this Name is now riding on a reputation they no longer uphold. I see countless complaints about quality - and Viking is no different than ikea as far as standing by a product. Shameful.
We had a custom kitchen built in Texas that Iāve had Viking products. Of the high-end brands, they were the least expensive and they were very reliable. But the quality of their refrigerator is not great at all. I wouldāve been better off going to Home Depot. Weāre on our third fridge from Viking. The first fridge we bought, we were told that it was a floor model, brand new, so we bought that one. It was shipped to us and we installed it. Three months later it broke. I called the Viking service tech. There is only one service tech in the Colorado area, so it took a while for him to get to me. He opened up the back of the fridge and said that it is a used fridge and itās not under warranty. He looked up the serial number and he found out that that fridge was actually already warrantied by Viking and it was supposed to be destroyed. Then Viking West Coast and Viking East Coast, the two corporate offices got into a pissing match on who was responsible for it. So we were caught in the middle of food that wasnāt cold⦠while they tried to figure out who was gonna warranty it because Viking West Coast said itās already been warrantied and its not their problem because we bought it from an East Coast dealer. It eventually got up to one of the VPs at Viking corporate and they said Viking East Coast will take care of it. They sent me a replacement refrigerator that the shipper dropped off the back of the truck. And then we rejected that fridge. Then they told us, āIām sorry but that was the last fridge in North America.ā The next fridge was on a set of containers coming over from China. And thatās when I found out that Frigidaire made their fridge. I told them Iām not paying an extra thousand dollars for a Frigidaire then. We eventually got one that was supposed to be going to one of their preferred dealers to market. It was a new fridge - a new model, because they werenāt making the old model anymore. And itās been working ever since.
I put a quarter of a million dollars in my kitchen in the house to upgrade and renovate it, and I got a Viking story from hell. We bought Viking appliances for the name because they have a good reputation and my wife liked the way the Viking appliances looked. So we got the Viking stove, double-door French oven and dishwasher. The whole kitchen was gonna be Viking. But their refrigerator was a disaster. We got the house set up then realized you also buy appliances for the way they might sound. In fact, we donāt have a Viking refrigerator anymore. It was so loud that I didnt care what I ended up with but I was not going to keep it. My wife liked the look so much that she didnt wanna give up the refrigerator. We had even built kitchen cabinets to fit everything because it needs to fit the Viking refrigerator. But it was way too loud. And lots of people agreed. The oven also makes a lot of noise when itās cooling but it really doesnāt bother me because it will cool down. We know that I donāt have to live with it 24/7. But the refrigerator, when that compressor was on and it was on for most of the time, was very loud and annoying. I donāt think it was defective though. I think thatās the way they make it. The main sound that we were hearing was the sound of a fan that comes on in the freezer, blowing and cooling the refrigerator. I spent hours going back and forth with Pacific Sales, asking what was wrong. They sent people out to the house and tried to repair it to see if that was the problem. They even put another compressor in it. I was beginning to think every high-end refrigerator is gonna make noise like that because they put the compressors up on the top. On the old refrigerator that we had, a Samsung, just the kind you buy at the Home Depot, the compressor is down on the base of the unit and back so whatever noise it made was muted by the wall and the refrigerator itself. But when I went over to the Wolf store, I couldnt believe I couldnt hear anything. I ended up buying the Wolf Sub-Zero refrigerator and we love it. Itās got two compressors, one for the refrigerator and one for the freezer. The refrigerator is very quiet. So someone needs to fix the Viking refrigerator.
After 4 repairs on an original and 10 repairs on a complete replacement Viking double wall oven, we gave up. We couldnt spend any more time waiting the four-hour window for repairmen, and no correction to maintaining a constant oven temp. Two repairmen broke fingers during repairs, no lie. Viking warranty people lacked response often, and convinced me to keep trying. Also, the cook top grates have little rubber feet that kept melting and falling off. DANGEROUS! Replaced about 6 times. Ten years later, dozens of burnt or under cooked meals, cookies etc., we are finally able to and frustrated enough to get something new. The hesitation is the cabinet was cut larger to fit Viking. And what do you buy? This is a short version on the problems with Viking and Viking associates. I could go on and on. BUY SOMETHING ELSE and save your sanity.
I had my kitchen renovated and everything was working but I wanted everything to match. So, I replaced everything. I wanted the high-end appliances and I originally wanted Sub-Zero and a Wolf, but then I thought I wanted Vikings so they would all match. When I bought the products, the first guy knew about Viking but when I went back to purchase it with my husband, he wasnt there. So, I had to settle for the person that was there who eventually walked up to me. He was not a Viking expert and he couldnt answer any questions. There were a couple of problems with the order. He added delivery. When you order that much, you dont have to pay delivery. He had to go back and fix that so it was a little challenging.I have everything from Viking but Iām having problems with the quality. I already had someone come out and work on the refrigerator but it has not been fixed. I had someone come out and work on the stove which needed a new fan. I was also having trouble with the dishwasher and he had to help me with it, and the door is still not fixed.
Viking had a floor model refrigerator that was at a good price. However, when I open the drawer where the ice bucket is in the freezer, 90% of the time, it kicks ice cubes underneath the basket of the freezer. I have to get down on my hands and knees and dig to get the ice cubes out. I cant close the freezer drawer until I get the ice cubes out. Also, that time, they were including an above-range convection microwave free with purchasing a range. However, the Viking dealer was a little slow to respond to things. She was very nice and pleasant but it could take her days to get back to me. So far, the range seems to be of good quality and the induction cooktop has been my favorite. But then, theres a defect in the left front corner of the stainless which was noted on the day of installation. Theres also a problem with the mechanism that I use to open the microwave. Its not level. Viking promptly got people out to look at the issues. Theyve ordered the parts but its been well over a month and none of my issues have been fixed. Furthermore, the front piece of the range needs to be replaced and its still on back order. Nevertheless, Vikings products are well made. I looked at some GE Cafe French drawer type refrigerators and the pullout drawers were very teeny. It felt very unsecure when I pulled it out. On the other hand, Vikings appliances seem like good heavy quality products.
We heard good things about the quality of Viking Refrigerators as we have friends that have the product. Also, Im the type that wants everything to match and be all from the same manufacturer. When we were redoing the kitchen and updating everything, we wanted to check out all of Vikings appliances. The team at the Viking dealer was very helpful and accommodating. We found a great bundle wherein if we got the refrigerator and the range, we would get a dishwasher that was deeply discounted or free. Since getting our Viking Refrigerator, Ive liked the control panel where I can separate my temperatures. However, there was a piece that wasnt allowing the bottom drawer to close. Within a day of calling to schedule the repair, someone was out to look at the refrigerator but then the part took over a month. Their guy came this morning and was repairing the piece. He said that the piece was not even necessary and it was a piece that could create the same problem later on. It feels like theres some flaw in that design. Nevertheless, the refrigerator is amazing and were happy.
Viking Built-In Convection Microwave Hood - I have owned this appliance for less than 5 years and it is already inoperable. The machine started buzzing and burning. A repairman told me that it has defective parts. Nothing caused by us. Total cost for the repairs is $576. The warranty states that only one part is covered for 5 years - of course, not the parts I need. The company (Viking) wasted a lot of my time only to state the same, Sorry, not covered. Frustrating. I could have bought a $50 microwave from any big box shop that would probably still be working today. Viking is supposed to be top of the line. What a joke.
We bought a Viking stove, hood/microwave, and dishwasher when we remodeled for our dream kitchen. Each appliance has had problems. First the bottom of the utensil basket disintegrated. It was flimsy and brittle after a few months of use. Brand specific replacement, $70 from our local appliance store. Fewer than 20 months later the control panel on top acted up. The appliance repair person said it would be at least 6 weeks to get a replacement part, if it was even available. It would cost, with installation, over $300. The stove has had several problems, the microwave/hood has problems. None of this was covered under any warranty. For a low end product the performance would be poor. Because its expensive, wed say it was abysmal.
Bought an induction range from Viking in 2007... terrible experience... Actually I think they replaced some parts that were within the warranty period, with some persuading, but after the third time it broke in 4 years we decided just to throw it away and get a conventional range.
In Dec. 2013, I began to have an issue with my Viking Dishwasher, purchased the previous March. It made a honking noise when changing cycles. I called Viking, got the name of their local authorized service company, and had that company come out. That was visit one. Need a part. Part ordered and service rep returns (Visit two). Dishwasher apparently repaired, but malfunctions the next time I used it - this time the audible warning beep wont stop. Call the repairman, who comes back and, you guessed it, needs to order a part (Visit three). When he returns and installs the part, the beep still wont stop, so apparently it is the wrong part (This completes visit four). Today he came for the fifth time and, you guessed it, apparently the part he replaced in one of the earlier visits is broken.Compounded the fact that I have been without a dishwasher for seven weeks is the terrible response I get when I try to contact Viking. The only time I was able to reach the company easily was in December. Since then, I am rerouted, given the wrong person, put on hold, etc. More important, apparently Viking has moved the consumer service warranty department to various locations, none of which have access to Vikings warranty records for its existing customers. I have given my serial number to three different Viking company reps over the course of my phone calls to the company, but apparently Viking either doesnt have a system that records this information or its system is not available to the reps assigned to handle customer warranty calls. Now this may make sense to someone, but that someone is not me. I do hope that my Viking fridge, range, and microwave, all purchased at the same time as the dishwasher, never malfunction. I certainly would not have bought any of these products if I had know how terrible the warranty customer interaction is.
We purchased our under counter beverage center and were looking forward to the convenience of having this appliance. It worked for about two months and we loved it. Then it started freezing everything in it. After that, exploded cans and bottles caused puddles of liquids on the floor. (Thats how we knew we had a problem.) We tried adjusting the temperature control with no avail. We contacted Viking and they referred us to a serviceman. He wouldnt service our area. Multiple calls were made to Viking and we received the same thing - servicemen referred by them who could not or would not come to us for the repair. We began offering to bring the appliance to them - as much as 250 miles away. They still would not service us, and Viking still did nothing. Due to life threatening illnesses, we gave up. We now have a $1,000+ decorative item.
I like my Viking refrigerator. So far, the quality is good. We bought ours at Best Buy. They did a nice job, came in, and set it unit up.
I like my Viking range. Weāre having a little bit of trouble getting it adjusted properly. Some of the dials to adjust the flame stick. It just seems to take a long time to get everything right. Were waiting on parts and it seems to be a waiting game with Viking. We have a serviceman working on it. But its a good range and I really have no problems with it. We also have a Viking dishwasher and a microwave. The dishwasher does its job but I really dont like the microwave. You have to open the door to program it and the inside is small.
I had some Viking products before and I love their products. I got a refrigerator and its very organized, compressed and is a nice statement in the kitchen. It also seems to be energy efficient because it doesnāt run in a cycle. It runs on and off a lot versus the thing compressing the air. It also maintains the temperature very easily and its quiet. The guys who brought the ref in were extremely careful and good at moving the big and heavy product. But I was offended by my experience with their dealers. They sent out a refrigerator which was boxed and I saw the delivery guys open it in front of my house and it was damaged in the box. They brought it in and they said the damage could be easily fixed by replacing one piece. I told them it was fine, I needed the refrigerator for the holiday. But as I installed the refrigerator, I noticed one packaging slip on the side of it so I removed it and inside the slip was the receipt that a new box had been ordered for this refrigerator. The refrigerator was sold to another family in a nearby suburb and returned by that family because it was damaged. But the dealer sold it to me as a new product.I immediately called the supplier and it was like the girl had been waiting for my call. They knew exactly what was going on and they ordered me another one. The other one came and they said, āJust use this one in the meantime.ā I wasnāt really out a refrigerator for a long period of time, but it was just the idea of them trying to slip this damaged one past me. I would be hesitant in purchasing a high-priced item from this company again even though Im happy with the product itself.
Weve had our Viking Refrigerator running for about a month and a half now and we love it. The dealer had an excellent display of the various Viking appliances that was really most helpful to us. We bought the double-door model and I really like it. Its working very well, has no issues, nice and quiet, all the compartments are useful, and its pretty. We love the way its lined up and I love the freezer on the bottom because that means my head doesnt bump at the handle if the freezer was on top.
I love my Viking range and I am happy with it. The range is of high quality. The Vikingās team was great at getting the people to fix the little knick-knack that we had with the door, and they were pretty good.
Viking was recommended to me. Everything seems to be good so far with our refrigerator. I like its unique system about the vacuum pressure in it. The designās fine. Iāve owned Marvel, and Iāve owned Viking, and another one. Theyre all good but this Viking is a more modern one than what Iāve had in the past. The quality is so far, so good.
What I liked about Viking was the unwavering quality but I dont think thats true anymore. The Viking appliances that I have that were supplied with the apartment are of a much lower quality than I had come to expect from them. Theyre only a couple of years old but Im not happy with them. Im very disappointed with Viking and Im looking to replace the appliances that I have. With the open burner range, it feels very rickety and I have to take it apart to clean it quite often. But Im fearful about cleaning it. Looking inside, there are these loose wires and I need to clean the inside very carefully for fear that I will dislodge some wire or something. Also, I have a dishwasher and a microwave that have failed and the refrigerator freezes milk but doesnt have even temperature regulation. They replaced the microwave fairly quickly but when the dishwasher broke, I was without a dishwasher for almost two months. Viking seems to be able to replace things, but they dont seem to be able to fix things.
Purchasing a Viking range was the contractors decision, but we were asked if we were okay with that and to me its one of the best out there. The whole thing is awesome because right now in my other home, I have an electric range and theres no comparison. You can cook faster and you can turn it off and on and have the heat go away. We have the grill part in the middle of our range, which I havent used yet but I love that feature. Overall I havent used the range much yet since its our second home and we were only there over the holidays, but the little bit that I did, I loved it.
There appears to be a design flaw with the oven Ignitor to the burner assembly of the 30 Viking oven stove. I have had now 4 service calls in 7 months. I purchased from ABT with poor response.
We had a Sub-Zero at our last house and we didnt need to go to that level for this house because of how long well probably be in it, and Viking was our next choice after Sub-Zero. I was gonna go buy a refrigerator thermometer cause I feel like the fridge part is not cooling as much as it seems. In the last three or four days, it seemed like when I got the milk out, it doesnt seem cold. But it doesnt seem like anything is spoiling, so its not that severe. Other than that, it seems fine.
I like the efficiency and design of the Viking ranges burners up on the cooktop. Ive had two ranges over the years, and overall, the quality is good. Ive bought other ranges to try to save money, but they didnt measure up. So, when I was able to afford it, I bought my second Viking and I use it every day. And its wonderful. We just had a repair done under warranty to the current one that we have. It was an igniter, but it got totally handled for everything, and now its back in action. It took two weeks to get the part but the person who came to do the repair did a great job.
We got everything Viking here in the house. My in-laws have them and they like them. The double ovenās unbeatable. The quality of the fridge is really good. The tolerances on everything are good. Its solid. I close the door and I feel its not cheap. However, the compressor went out and I was shocked Viking couldnt give me a new compressor for the Viking. I had to get a replacement refrigerator, which I got a little bit of a discount but at the same time, I shouldnt have to buy a brand new Viking after it wasnt that long. Im not too happy and I found out its a Panasonic condenser unit that goes into the Vikings. I like to think weve got years and years of dependability behind it, but when I hear itās a Panasonic condenser unit, thats not too reassuring.
When we bought the house, it was a new construction. Apple Homes has been building since the Truman administration and we went with the quality and reputation of the builder. Ive had a number of different houses and appliances like Wolf, Thermador, Sub-Zero and LG. The appliances I was really satisfied with was Wolf but Ive always wanted Viking. Then this house had Viking and one of the considerations when we bought it was having the appliances we liked. We had used the Viking range for almost a year and then it freaked everybody out during a dinner party, because as my girlfriend opened it up, the door literally came off in her hand and when she let down, it hit the floor pretty hard. The range is a Professional and it has a heavy door. It was lucky it didnt land on her foot as the door couldve broken it. There was only one service tech in this area and thatās who came out and put the door on. He also said that when it was installed, it may not have had the door adjusted right because it was bent and it fell out. From what Apple Homes told me, the installer was Viking-approved because they got it from whoever could sell Viking. Yet they did it incorrectly so its like damned if you do and youre damned if you dont.Plus, weve had problems with the Viking refrigerator too. The ice machine goes everywhere when we use it and it doesnt click off. Its just poor design. I even thought it was a Professional but the service person told us it was actually another manufacturer that did that particular model for Viking. It wasnt really a Viking. Thats very misleading and I wasnt aware of that. The service cost us $100 because when the service person came out, they said he couldnt find our warranty online and we couldnt find copies either. We had sent all the registration and we dated it from when we first moved in. So we got it again from the builder and refilled it out. However, the service guy did say that Viking might reimburse the $100 service call fee. This happened just right after our first year and Im not sure but I think appliances got more than a one-year warranty. I hope so, for something that expensive. Hopefully it wont have any other issues because we like the way it cooks. We loved the stove and we wouldve recommended it until the door fell off. When that happened, we hated it.
The quality of Viking Ranges is excellent. When I called their customer service and asked them, Will your stove do this? Will your range perform this?, they were able to answer my question and point me directly, and they have always been like that. In all the 8 or 9 months Iāve owned the range, I have not had anything outside of that. It has been consistent and direct. Iām very lucky to have had that Viking. Itās a really great piece of equipment and I chose it for its performance. There isnt one thing that I do in there that is subpar. I had a JennAir for 20 years before that so I knew the professional-level range. I was expecting it to be good. I wasnāt expecting it to be great, and it was great. Somebody would say, āOh my goodness, you paid $10,000 for a range.ā I did, but it performs. It does exactly what it says it does. Itās beautiful to look at too. Itās like a work of art. One of the best features of the range is the clean-up because you get cooking, start grilling this, sauteeing this, doing a sauce here and things spill and oil starts flying. And I can have that stovetop and everything wiped down and done in under 10 minutes which is a blessing. The range has to be the easiest range Iāve ever had to clean. I cook a lot in the kitchen. I make everything - my own pastas, my own bread rolls, crackers, soups and soup bases. I do everything on that and I grill. I do pastries and brioches. I do all sorts of stuff in there that everybody says the degree of difficulty is extreme, yet the results on these things are superior in that stove. Dinners and everything are like works of art. Itās like somehow my cooking went from being good to superior, and itās that range.I also bake pies. As a matter of fact, I just made 12 dozen butter tarts. Never in my whole life have I ever baked a pastry at 325 degrees. Itās always 400 or 425. So, the first time I baked a pie, Iām looking at the Viking book, and theyre saying, 325, X amount of minutes. I thought it was insane. It has to be wrong. So I went to my old habits and baked it at 400. The results were abysmal. It was overbaked on the outside and raw on the inside. I did it again and I did it according to Viking. It was the best I have ever made in my whole life and that was where I then really sat down and started to read everything and anything I could on Viking and how to use this piece of equipment with optimum.I would recommend this range. My only thing is this is a professional-level range so theres a learning curve on it because it performs differently than a 799 General Electric special. This is like buying a Ferrari and thinking youāre driving a Chevy Volt. Theyre totally different things. The shame is that Viking is not out there more. They donāt have a place to really promote it. I looked at them all and I almost went with a Wolf. It was between Wolf and Thermador. What almost got me to go to Wolf was their pizza setting and they have a pizza stone. I sat down and I thought I really wanted that Viking, and I thought back of all the reasons why I wanted it. I had to search to see who was selling it. I couldnt find anybody in Canada. It was Bryan from Middleby Group that helped me.Bryan answered my questions immediately. If he said it, it was done. It was none of this backstepping or trying to fluff over or trying to play me like I was stupid. However, I will never use Corbeil, the company who they shipped it to, again. Their product knowledge and support were poor. Their ability to answer questions, even simple ones, was non-existent. And not only that, when I went into Corbeil and gave them feedback that the Viking Range is superior, the store manager said right to my face, Oh, this is a piece of crap. We wonāt even sell these.Because the feedback from Corbeil was so poor, I was really apprehensive and unsure of myself and insecure when I first got Viking. I thought maybe I made the wrong choice but I didnt. It bakes bread to perfection. Pizza, 375 on my pizza stone, is the best. It rivals a pizza oven which my in-laws have. And I can get better results in my Viking than they get in their pizza oven, so you donāt lose anything. On Viking, they have a defrost cycle and a dehydrate cycle which are fabulous. The top burners are also ever fabulous. I wasnāt gonna get the sealed unit. I was gonna get an all-gas unit. Bryan said to me, āBut you bake and you do this a lot. Get the dual fuel. Youāll be very happy with it,ā and Iām really glad I did. He listened to me and he was able to guide me into making my choice. He knew his product. He was just a joy. Heās VP for all of Canada, and he answered or returned my call. He was so good.I have nothing but great things to say about Viking and I donāt understand why the appliance centers are abysmal. And itās not just for Viking. Itās for all of them. They donāt know their product and itās whatever theyre pushing at the time. This is why you get consumers who get the product in their house, and theyre like, āWhat the heck is this? This is a piece of garbage.ā It degrades very quickly. The least little thing is a complaint, is a complaint, is a complaint. And it has nothing to do with these manufacturers but everything to do with those showrooms. I told my husband if I were new to the professional level, I would probably choose a Series 3. Thatās a very nice-looking range. Probably 20 years ago, thatās what I wouldve chosen. Today, Iām dying to get into that Series 7. Because weāre thinking of moving in the next year, Iād have to do that Tuscany one. Thatās a really beautiful one too. But Iām dying to get into the Series 7, the big honking one. My JennAir from my other home was quite large, but it was cumbersome, and the results were unpredictable. It was also difficult to clean. And Iāve experienced none of that with the Viking. Itās like coming out of purgatory and going into heaven.
My husband has always liked Viking. I replaced all of my appliances at my previous house three years ago because I also like the quality and the reliability. However, when I bought my first set of Viking appliances there was an issue with the dishwasher. It came without the kick plate. I had to communicate many times with the people at Pacific Sales and I ended up going through Viking directly to get the parts that I needed. It was really a great big headache. This time, there was an issue with the newest appliance which was the Viking stand-alone oven range. The door to the oven was not closing properly. I tried to get Pacific Sales to rectify the situation and I ended up going again directly through Viking because Pacific Sales is incapable of good service. My favorite feature of the Viking range is the easy way that it cleans on the top which has the little magnetic burner covers. Iām very OCD so itās very nice to be able to take that all off, clean it really well, put it all back together, and it still looks like brand-new. I really love my appliances. Somebody tried to talk to me into Thermador and I said that Im going to stick with the Viking because I like them.
We moved into a brand new condo and the Viking range was what was available. So far, I like the quality of the material, the ease of use and the look of it.
We have a couple of Viking appliances and the stove works great. However, the refrigerator keeps beeping the alarm. Weāve had it serviced and the techs told us that they fixed it. They tested it and got the temperature and it still alarms. Despite that, Viking has great appliances.
We worked with the person that our builder referred and he was really nice and helped us out. We purchased the Viking refrigerator as we like its look. We then picked out other Viking products to go with it. However, the refrigerator has leaking problems and Iāve been waiting for about two weeks now to get any sort of service from Viking. Itās been really awful. They only have one person in the Des Moines area who services the product, and when the rep called to set something up, she was really rude and refused to service my refrigerator. So now, itās supposed to be with the regional manager and I keep calling back every day and nobody calls me back. Its a very poor, runty service with Viking.
I had a Viking range when I lived in Southern California for 20 years and couldnt kill the thing. Initially, I purchased it for status. It looked so great in my house. With a culinary background, I quickly found out that this range was amazing. It performed. I moved and could not take it with me. We finally built our forever home and one of the requirements was that I bring that Viking back. I have a whole Viking kitchen. The window in the range in the oven part of it is not the same as it used to be. This seems like it needs some kind of gasket around it. I sometimes see steam between the glass. I was told thats normal but it wasnt like that on my other range. But all in all, it works really well. I love it. I had a GE in another home and it was like junk. You couldnt clean it. Itād scratch. I took the air filters out and washed them. They fell apart the first time. You dont get that with Viking. It is a lot more money but you get what you pay for. I tell people if youre going to invest in appliances for your house, this is the way to go. Its everything you need and Viking stands behind their product.
My friend had a Viking Range and had a good experience. Viking brand is also well-known so a level of trust comes with it however, I was a little disappointed in the overall experience of getting the range. I ordered it from ABT Electronics, an online store not local to my place, and the first time it came here, it was damaged. So we had to return it but it took a little bit of persuasion from our side to make them understand that if itās broken, itās not our fault. They shipped another one and we got it installed by a professional here who does Viking installations, even for the local store where we had seen the range. When we used the oven and the fan started, it started making a lot of buzzing noise and there seemed to be something loose inside the thing. So we asked for the warranty repair and it took weeks for them to schedule a repair. The guy who came was very nice though so I was totally satisfied with the behavior of the individual. He tried to fix it and it appeared, at that time, that it was fixed. He pushed it back and then he went away. But after that, the noise was still there. It was less but it was still fairly loud.
I have been familiar with the Viking brand all my life. I bought a 30-inch dual fuel range from them two months ago. It is the very first Viking appliance I owned. However, we had to have a repair immediately because a fan was defective on it. They were prompt in getting the repairman out and getting it repaired under warranty work. I was pleased with that. But I still need to figure out how to monitor the temperature to make sure itās calibrated right because my baking seemed to be different than in the past ovens. It doesnt seem to be baking as quick. So, I wonder if it might need to be calibrated that the temperature is running a little bit low. Other than that, the dealer and the technician were very good. I got a good deal on the product and so far, Im satisfied with Viking.
I am writing to publicly declare I could not be more disappointed in the 4 Viking appliances my family has purchased. I have the 48ā duel fuel range in my home. Both ovens are now not working after using the self clean features on both ovens. I am very upset. The fault is with the Viking appliance company. The cost of the repair should not be my burden. I would never recommend this brand to any of my friends. The one positive thing I have to say is that the range is beautiful. My brotherās family have 2 exterior refrigerators and an exterior ice maker both from Viking. Each appliance has required multiple repairs yearly. It is infuriating to spend so much money for a professional brand we trusted, that fails repeatedly. Itās a bitter disappointment to walk outside and not be able to have a cold drink with a glass of ice waiting for you, after investing so much money. Furthermore, the repairs were expensive and repeatedly done by certified Viking repairmen, using Viking parts. The fact that Viking cannot effectively repair their faulty product is pathetic. The Viking company should replace all these appliances free of charge if they are to have any integrity at all.
We got our Viking refrigerator through Famous Tate and they took care of everything for us. The refrigerator we got is very nice and Im pleased with it. It was an easy purchase and delivery, and the quality of the product is extremely high.
I researched for a long time which refrigerator I was gonna choose, and I ultimately chose Viking ācause I liked how it looks. Iāve always known about Viking and so I bought my Viking refrigerator from where we got our plumbing supplies. The people there were great and I always liked them. I like the refrigerators quality, its size, lighting and the soft closing drawers.
My Viking range has been a good investment so far for me. Weve had it since last summer and its a great range. I like it a lot. Itās very efficient and the oven heats really quick. Itās solid too. I like the fact that itās like a commercial range, so it gets really hot. But when you put it on the low setting, itās not very low ācause itās got pretty big burners. The only thing thatās odd is when Iām closing the oven door the enamel is chipping off of it ācause thereās this piece that sticks out. Otherwise, the quality is good.
