A model that is cabinet facing, only ice making, no water, unfiltered water
A model that is cabinet facing, only ice making, no water, unfiltered water in the fridge is hard to find. Only two companies had the configurations I wanted for my refrigerator and Viking was one of them. The refrigerator is fine and I like it. I love the amount of room I have without the water component which was very difficult to find in other refrigerators. But Im having problems with the trim kit. Either its not installed right or its just not a good product. Its been months and I havent gotten the new trim kit to see if the issue was in the installation. We chose Viking over GE because of the trim kit, but thats where were having trouble with and the design may not be so great. Customer service had short answers like they just want to get me off the phone and I felt it was rushed. The rep called me to let me know the scheduled appointment date, but its still not fixed. Id rather just have it direct and get it fixed.

If my Viking professional gas range were a car the lemon designation would apply. My dealer stopped handling Viking because of repair needs records. Mine has had three new oven elements, four new switches. Mine has 6 top burners and a griddle. Dont ever buy a griddle. Impossible to keep clean when used. It rusts!!! This oven is a lemon first class.

Weve had our Viking fridge for five years now and our experience has been very good. We had a problem with the compressor and because its under warranty, we called Viking Refrigerators a few weeks ago to have the piece repaired, and we had a very good service. Initially, we were renovating the kitchen and we wanted a fridge that is not too deep and that is bigger than the standard and we thought that the Viking was the one we needed. We like that we can easily find things in the fridge because its only 24 inches in depth. The only thing is we were a bit disappointed with the cheap drawers because theyre plastic and everything was cracked. So for the price we paid for the fridge, the drawers should have been of a better quality. The person who came to change the compressors said that it would cost us a big amount to change the drawers, so we will keep them with all the cracks.

Less than a year ago, when we needed a new refrigerator, we were talked into buying a new Viking (as opposed to a Sub Zero that served us so well after many years). Worked fine for the first 8 months or so but 3 weeks ago we realized that our freezer temperature (and then the refrigerator itself) was going up. It got up to almost 70 degrees. We quickly put in a call to dealer who sold and installed our refrigerator. They could not get to us for 3 days because of the Memorial Day week-end. We took everything out of the freezer and refrigerator and took them downstairs to a little portable unit. The service tech called us back the next day and told us to turn off the refrigerator/freezer and leave the doors open for 24 hours. The unit started working the next day so we put everything back in it. The service tech came and told us to keep things away from the vents and that would probably do it. Refrigerator/freezer worked for another 5 days and then it bombed out again. Once again we removed everything and brought it to the small unit downstairs. Once again, it took 3 days to get the service tech back. He put in new control boards and said everything was fine. And again, with great optimism, we moved everything back into the unit.Last night, while making dinner, the upper vent in the refrigerator started making a loud noise. I immediately grabbed my phone and took a video. The freezer temp was already at 16 degrees and going up. Guess what we did? We again moved everything out! We called the service tech right away and sent him the video. He will be here in 3 days. Obviously we are extremely discouraged about this $10,000 unit. And I am extremely tired of running to the little unit downstairs everytime I need something. Give us back our Sub-Zero!!!

We had Viking previously in North Carolina and liked it very much. We bought a brand-new Viking French door oven and a stove top. But the refrigerator, we bought second-hand from a friend of mine. She ended up buying a brand-new pair for almost $20,000 and we’re like, “Good God! We can’t afford that.” We asked what shell do with the others and she said shell just donate them so we bought them from her. We’ve only been using them for two weeks but we like how it’s not deep. So, everything’s not buried in the fridge. Plus, the quality is second to none.

We got a nice Viking oven and my wife wanted a Viking fridge next to it. Ive had many fridges in my life. But with this fridge, they’re coming out the sixth time to try to repair it and they’re kind of slow to get it. I threw out two batches of food. I had ruined my cabinet and my floor since it leaked water all over it. I have asked Viking if they can fix that or if I have to pay for myself. The whole kitchen is brand new. This fridge came in a year ago with the whole brand new kitchen, new floors and new cabinets. I have never had a product this bad in my life. I thought I would be paying for quality but either I got really unlucky or something else is wrong.

I purchased all Viking products for my home. The exterior look is excellent but looks are deceiving! Almost every interior component of my refrigerator (VCSB483D) has had issues. Cracked butter covers, drawers that crack and fall off the track, track that wont support drawers, cracked freezer interior lining, ice maker issues, drain issues. The problem is Viking does not really seem to want to help you when its under warranty (loopholes like cracked components are cosmetic) why should that matter! Ive owned many non luxury brands that not only held up better, the manufacturers stood behind their products.

The installers didnt convert my unit from natural gas to propane. And that caused a lot of problems for us and the oven. The oven produced a lot of soot on the backsplash and that led to me calling about it. And then they discovered that it hasn’t been converted the right way. Though Viking did not install it, they ended up replacing the unit. Since then, its been just fine. My builder was involved in the negotiations to get a new one. I dont know how Viking responded to that request but I got a new one and I didnt pay for it. And before it came into my house, it has been converted. We like it, and it seems to be working. Im relatively pleased with the product itself.

Back in 2003 we remodeled our kitchen and put in Viking appliances and we have nothing but trouble with all. The only appliance that was not Viking was the microwave because at the time Viking did not make them. We have not had any trouble with the microwave except to replace a light bulb. The refrig has had to have 3 ice makers and the door needed 2 new sets on hinges and appears to wearing out again and there is concerns of the door falling off, the convertible meat savor drawer has had repairs done to drawer glides multiple times and still not working properly. Just in the last week the refrig evaporator and compressor went out and I have a quote to fix it for over $1500. The cooktop we have had to replace the stainless trim around the glass once and it is in need of replacing again. The oven clock, timer or the self-cleaning has not worked since the time we bought the appliance. The dishwasher has worked but the control panel on the inside of the door has cracked and it has holes on the panel from what appears to be dry rot. To replace all these appliances would cost well over $15000 this does not include the cost to have someone install. Furthermore the refrig, dishwasher have wood panels on them to match the rest of the kitchen cabinets and Im not sure whether these cabinets and the color can be recreated without costing thousands more. For a product that promotes itself as being a top of the line company I would have to rethink my branding.

The Viking range is nice-looking and Im very pleased with it. Right now, Im still trying to get used to it. Its a little bit different than the previous one I had. Also, I had to make a few adjustments because the back was a little above an inch higher than the one I had. The only thing I dont like is the color of the tops of the burners because if anything drops on them, they spot and it looks speckled. It doesnt look clean. If those could have been black, that would have been great. I dont know if I could buy replacements for them and if theyre in black. Ive paid a bunch of money for this and Im not so sure that I want to put a whole lot more into it. Other than that, its a beautiful piece of appliance and I would recommend it. Its the focal point of the kitchen and I did not swap out the vent that I had because the range matched it perfectly. Also, the company I bought it from is fabulous. They were there with me the whole time for delivery and installation. All the guys were wonderful when they came in and they were so careful in bringing it in. Then, I had a follow-up from Viking. After the range came in and it was installed, they called to ask me if everything was okay, if I was able to get it, if it was working, and if I was pleased with it. I have been totally pleased with the company.

They got it for me earlier than I thought I was gonna get it. One of the cast-iron grates was cracked and they got it replaced through Viking within a week. I like everything about the range. It fulfills my expectations and does what its supposed to do. It looks great and Im very happy with it. The fact that we just took off all the top panels to wash them is a miracle in itself. It lights when I want it to. It keeps the temperature where I want it in the oven.

We met with the district sales manager of Viking Refrigerators and it was a great meeting. We switched from Dacor and purchased from them. But when the first appliance that we bought came though, I sent him an email with pictures of the problem and never heard one word. Weve had trouble with the refrigerator and with the oven, and now we’ve got a service call in for the dishwasher, and it hasnt been a great experience. Our interaction with the customer service reps has been a disaster and they handled the situation poorly. I was spending 20,000 bucks and I wanted to get the issues resolved, and I didnt have time to mess with them. So, we went right to the retailer, Abt, and we dealt with them and they responded very promptly. The Viking product is great but getting it here in one piece is the issue. Were very satisfied with the final results, but there was no response from Viking from May until now to get the issues resolved. On the other hand, Abt was great and Id go to them any day of the week. But dont go to Viking.

My wife got a superb deal on the Viking range that we bought. It was an open box-deal and we got it for less than half the normal price. Also, I like the shape, it looks good and it goes with the industrial look that we wanted to put in out kitchen. And the reps answered the questions I had and gave me the answers I was looking for. But there are some things that I would have changed on the range if Ive known it, but we did not have much choice when we bought this thing. For example, its difficult to tell when the oven has reached a certain temperature. Theres a little blue light but it goes on and off anyway. So were going to have to invest in another thermometer so we know whats the right temperature. But Im satisfied with what the range does. Its a good product and it has a good reputation.

Ive known about Viking for years and they have always been a commercial line. My wife and I have always enjoyed cooking. We thought we would take a step up in quality so we got one. We are enjoying the Viking range. We had a different range for a few weeks but we decided to have a cast plate into our house. So I did that first then, I ordered the Viking range from the retailer inside Best Buy. We bought the 30 inch, which is the smallest one that Viking makes but it makes a heck of a difference in cooking. However, I wish we would have a larger space. We wanted to widen the kitchen, take some cabinets down and put in either 38 or the 42 but we just couldnt scrape up enough pennies because Viking is not a cheap stove. We also got the combination which we like because the oven is larger to do the cooking. The oven is electric and the top is gas so its really nice because the oven is all hidden and sealed. I also love the idea of the quick heating. It has the solid, medium and the consistent heating where you just set it and its awesome. Unlike when it’s electric, the heat is always coming off and on in order to maintain a certain temperature. Were really happy with the Viking range. We love the feature of the sealed burners as well. Its so easy to clean. The stainless steel takes fingerprints that bad but with just a couple of wipes, its all cleaned up. Viking range is beautiful but it’s not for someone who doesn’t cook that often or not a good cook. It’s an overbuy for them. But I would recommend it to anyone who has the enthusiasm that my wife and I have when it comes to cooking. We really appreciate it and we love it. Its worth every penny.

We heard that Viking Ranges was one of the best but my wife and I dont feel that way anymore, and well never buy a Viking again. It was a terrible experience. We bought our range and had it over five years. Something happened to the temperature button so that we could only cook at 350 or above. They came in to fix that button and it was gonna be $1,000 to fix it.When they went to fix the button, they moved the stove and they said that on the bottom theres electronic wires that shorted out the oven when they moved it. The service people said it was a defect on the way they made them and now they make them with some type of insulator that protects the wires from shorting out. But thats not available to our range so we had to purchase another one, and we wound up getting a newer model that has that. But we had spent over $2,000 on the newer model that doesnt have a gauge that people can see the temperature on. We have to put something inside of it to see the temperature. There was also no clock on it. And It was more expensive than ours. Its ridiculous.I could buy something for a quarter of the price that I would be more happy with because weve used Wolf before as a higher-end unit in a lot of our rentals. Weve used much less expensive stuff which weve had for 20 years and we didnt have these kinds of problems. Viking is just a name brand and they probably shop out all their service and have no parts after five years on a unit people purchased. Its unbelievable. I dont know how they got their name but Im sure not from what weve experienced. Its just an oven and it doesnt do anything special. It cooks like everything else is supposed to. Name brands impress people. We could have bought a new oven from somebody else with the money we spent to fix our situation.

The refrigerator that I had was not a counter length and depth. It was huge. I loved it but my kitchen is small. Viking fits a lot better. Just describing facts: you can judge if you want to go through this headache. Bought in 2011; Model # CVDSC548T64SS. First problem: noisy vibrating fan required between 2012 and 2013 several service. First replacement fan had same problem needing replacement again. Now, in 2015 (oven is just 4 years old!!) the Temperature selector switch not working. Needs to be replaced (cost 435 $ + tax + service call). The service company has had to change this part 4 times already for other customers. I called BRIGADE but they refuse to consider this a defect.Considering that this range costs at least 10,000$ I CAN NOT RECOMMEND SPENDING THIS MUCH MONEY FOR POOR QUALITY OF PRODUCT AND SERVICE. Just found out Viking no longer called Viking but BRIGADE! Daniel came a few times until June 6, 2013 to solve the problem of the noisy oven. Now Sep 11, 2015: control knob for temperature and mode not working clockwise only counter clockwise.

I wanted all my appliances to match. So I went and got the Viking refrigerator. My stove is really good but I see the refrigerator and I dont see the same quality. Im not very satisfied for the price I paid. The refrigerator has some issues. I have spoken to customer service and the year was going by and I thought I need to call them again. The refrigerator freezes food in the refrigerator area. But even at the bottom of the refrigerator, Im starting to see some sort of accumulation. The maintenance people are not very familiarized because the rep told me that down where Im from, there are not many people that own Viking. But the lady that does also had the same issues of food freezing. The handles are very wobbly. I constantly have to tighten them up. It doesnt have a feature in the ice machine where it stops after it feels that it has made enough ice. For such an expensive and quality brand, those features would have been looked into. They had to also repair, just within purchase, the deli meat door because it was off. It was crooked. Right away, they sent the deli door. But the guy hasnt even called me. He was supposed to check into that whole freezing of the food in the refrigerator. But Ive been lenient because I said it was a holiday.

I unfortunately bought a Viking gas range from the local dealer Warner Stellian since the Wolf range I wanted was on indefinite backorder. This range has proven to be the worst gas range I ever had the mis-fortune of owning. Absolute piece of junk nothing but problems from day 1. Oven door that doesnt lock in cleaning cycle, spark modules and ignitors that dont work, door hinges that break, etc, etc. And forget about getting ANY satisfaction from Viking you call they ignore you and treat you like your stupid. I recently bought some much cheaper GE appliances for my mothers house in FLA and they performed flawlessly and at 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Viking P.O.S.I think Im not alone see the other reviews on this site and they are all very consistent and UNHAPPY. DONT fall victim to the hype and salesperson B.S. Save your money and buy ANYTHING other than a Viking! Overpriced, poor quality, non-existent customer service, expensive hard to find parts, lousy, pathetic customer service from the manufacturer. Other than all that, youll love them...

I read the review from C of Cleveland, OH Nov. 21, 2019 and decided to provide my own feedback. We installed a Viking Double Oven over 10 years ago and it stopped working correctly after 3 or 4 years. We havent been able to use the lower oven for over 3 or 4 years. It keeps giving a cooling error, then stops working. The Birmingham Viking certified service people have replaced several parts including the control panel. Now Viking is trying to say that it was installed incorrectly which is total baloney! Just an excuse from Viking to get rid of us. We made SURE the contractor and cabinet builder followed the specs when it was installed and the installation was approved by the Viking Dealer. So this $6,500 unit can’t be repaired? Spend a third of the price and get the same quality with another cheaper brand!

Viking refrigerator is very expensive at $13,000 plus tax. However, it was not that great because within a few months it stopped cooling down. On the contrary, it was warming up so it was losing a lot of food a couple of times. Luckily, it was under warranty so they replaced the fan, but that shouldn’t happen with a $13,000 refrigerator. I was not happy with that at all. We chose Viking because when we bought this house, they had used Viking professionals. My brother does kitchen remodels and installs appliances and I used to install Viking Ranges with him. As Ive seen those ranges coming out of the boxes and see them perform I said to myself that when I do my own kitchen Im going to get one. Ive installed some of the KitchenAid ones and I always went back to the quality of Viking. Our dealer held our oven for us until it was ready for delivery for almost three weeks which I was appreciative of. The installation was done by Jose and it went smoothly. He advised us where we had to put the level of the gas line for that particular model. I like the condensing fan in the oven when I’m baking at two different levels. It rotates the heat. Another thing is the burners are strong at high and I can adjust it to where I need it to be. There was a manufacturer defect though. On the bottom part of the oven there was a scratch all the way to the rear. I didnt notice it until I was cleaning it about three months later which is over the warranty period already. But this defect is more aesthetic than performance and the oven is still running great. My wife who doesn’t know anything about a Viking Range is totally convinced that we made the right choice. She was leery about $3900 for a range but now when she uses it she can see the difference in the way it cooks versus regular stoves. Id recommend Viking to a friend anytime.

Viking Ranges has a good name and their product was what my wife wanted. The quality of the range that we bought from them is fine and we like its looks. Weve only had it for a month or so and we haven’t done a whole lot of cooking or baking on it, but we’re happy with it. The Viking range, though, is very expensive.

One of my friends bought a house that had a Viking Range and I was out of a range for three months because I couldn’t find anything I wanted, so I researched Viking. The people that installed the stove was fantastic and it’s a rarity now to find that anywhere. They were Justin and John and it was called Bald Eagle Delivery & Home Service. They were a father-son team and they were incredible. They worked together very well. I live up in the mountains of Colorado and I can’t get anybody out here to do anything. I got the stoves that are 410 pounds, the smallest one, and they took their time, installed it correctly and showed us how to use it. The overall experience was amazing. As opposed to going to Sears, Lowe’s and Home Depot, I won’t go to any other place but Mountain High Appliance in Colorado Springs because the service was good. We’ve had four ranges in the 20 years that we’ve lived in this house and they keep going out. My husband did not want me to get a Viking Range because of the expense, but I told him that I was getting it. The roll-out trays inside the oven are great. I love the cooking experience, having a propane range and the fact that the oven is electric. I got the dual range and I just cooked the most beautiful rhubarb strawberry pie yesterday. It was wonderful. I love Viking Ranges.

We wanted a high-end range. We needed something ultra dependable and something with great reviews. I cook a lot and I use good quality pots and pans. We use a lot of cast iron skillets and Le Creuset. Everything thats out there right now is even broken in the store. We went to Lowes a couple of times and the grates of some of their higher end ranges were snapped in the store. It was pretty dumb. Another big factor for us is we did not want a display board. Our previous couple ranges had that kind of electronic stuff and we wanted dials we could turn. We understand there are electronics in there but I dont need a pizza setting or anything like that. We bought the Viking range professional model so its an open burner and we love it. We are now calling it the turbo stove and turbo oven because the stuff cooks so fast. But we had to have a guy come out and check it because some of the igniters werent igniting right away on the stove. When we would turn it off, it would go poof and there is a big flash of flame. We had converted to propane. He checked everything and said it was fine. He explained something about the valve that lets the gas in is further back so we are gonna have that. Its not a problem though as it’s not dangerous. Its just something that had to get used to. And then the guy figured out what we could do where it wont poof. Right now, I have a Le Creuset on the stove and I’m making a bone broth. If I put the two back burners on the simmer function, it’s really nice and low. My broth simmers nicely. It kinda huffs but it doesn’t do that on the front burners. I got a huge stockpot on a front burner. It’s in the lowest setting and its beautiful. Our range works fantastically but it is different from what we were used to. Were adaptable though. We’re gladly working with it. Also, the range doesnt have a timer but Im okay with that. I baked a sourdough loaf this morning and it’s beautiful. The oven is consistently 25 degrees off according to my Amazon internal cheapo thermometer in there. But were also at 4,200 feet. As long as I know that its 25 degrees off, I can deal with that. Our last range was all digital and it was so unpredictable. Thats why we wanted something predictable. Our Viking range is, so far. It’s beautiful and it’s a work of art.

Im in the culinary industry and I always knew that I wanted a more professional series. I knew Viking was a good way to go because they have a great reputation. I like my Viking range and Ive been happy with it. It has a better coverage on the burners which I love. They burn higher more than the average range. My water boils faster and food cooks faster. We had a few bumps in the beginning but Im okay now. I also had a good experience with their dealer. They were professional and had good knowledge of the products. When I had issues, they were pretty very responsive and directed me to the right places.

I also love all the different ranges that you can put your oven on with the convection, which can be the low, the medium, or the high. It gives you so many options. All the burners come off so nicely and I havent had problems cleaning it. People should get Viking if they were thinking about it.

8 years ago we did a total renovation to our kitchen and chose to put in a 48 Viking range/hood. This undoubtedly was our most expensive purchase. In the last 7 years I have had nothing but problems. 2 of the burners never light unless done with a match. I am now on my 3rd thermostat for the broiler, I have been waiting 3 MONTHS for this part... Again!!! The oven thermostat has been replaced 2 times. Of course these repairs have cost us $500-$1500. This has been the most disappointing purchase I have ever made. Terrible product and terrible customer service. Dont DO IT... Buy something that backs up its product for more than a year!!!

In Memphis, a lot of the really nice and elegant restaurants choose to use Viking products because of their quality and service. I purchased the Viking products from one of their suppliers, Metro Appliances, out at Jonesboro, Arkansas. The salesperson was great to deal with. He was very positive, upbeat and promotional for Viking and all other varieties that they’re carrying. That was a wonderful experience. But upon receiving my brand-new kitchen suite, the refrigerator had to be repaired instead of completely replaced. The doors were out of alignment and will not be fixed and upon the receiving my ice maker, it didn’t work and had to be completely replaced. I have had issues with my refrigerator going out already. I had to wait over a two-week service while all of my food was spoiled. Also, I currently have a problem with my microwave where the screen has gone out. I have already waited a week and a half and have yet to see the first person come and see what the problem is. I’ve made phone calls and chased all of these people around and I get very poor service for a $25,000 kitchen suite, professional series. But that’s the way they choose to run their business and promote their products and services. I would have been better off going with Whirlpool or Maytag.

I purchased a Viking Refrigerator DTBB363R had several repairs. Now, I get a recall with the option to purchase at $3,600 plus tax. The Viking representative caught me off guard with offering a new refrigerator which is configured exactly the same with a new warranty at half the original price. My receipt from Sun Appliance shows we paid $4,490 on October 7, 2003. We are retired on a fixed income and feel this is unjustified. We feel we are caught between the eight ball. We do not want a defective product that could injure someone. And since the refrigerator has custom panels to match the custom kitchen design, we have no other choice but to purchase another one. We purchased a new Viking all refrigeration unit and it has been nothing but trouble. Ice forms on the back wall and around the fan unit. The fan started to make a terrible noise because it was hitting the ice. Hadco (the Viking rep in Florida) has sent repairmen a number of times, but the issue is still not solved. It appears to me to be an engineering problem as there is no positive seal when the door closes. This would allow humidity to build up inside the unit. We have used Sub Zero before, but the Viking unit appeared to be better designed - it is not. I am in the process of trying to arrange for a replacement refrigerator.

Like many of the reviews here, our Viking French Door fridge was a lemon and so is the new one that showed up after 6 months of service calls and spoiled food. I have now heard from a service person and the appliance delivery men that I am not alone in my issues, which are detailed by many other reviews here. I have wasted 16+ hours of my life talking to Viking and waiting for service calls. Not to mention the $100s of lost due to spoiled food from the freezing in the back of the fridge. The fact that ice spills out onto the floor every time I open the freezer is a design flaw I could have lived with, but this is unacceptable. Built my entire kitchen around this fridge and now I need to figure out how to replace it. Do yourself a favor - the reviews are true - dont buy this fridge. I always liked the look of Viking ovens and since Viking always seems to have a package deal sale, we got suckered into buying the package and “saving” some money. The Fridge is awful. The door is too heavy and constantly breaks. They will send someone to fix it, but it is a temporary fix. A band aid. We have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of food because this fridge door will not close right (very bad design way — too heavy). They will not do the right thing and replace the fridge. I wish we bought the other brand that’s a bit more expensive but actually lasts and is built right. Don’t fall for the bundle deal. There’s a reason they offer it.

Built a new home in 2011, my ex wanted an elaborate kitchen that would be functional and fun to entertain in. We purchased Viking refrigerator, freezer, 2 dishwashers, 12 gas burners and 4 ovens, because our impression was Viking was top of the line. Turns out the line begins at the rear. The dishwashers never worked properly and I discarded them after 2 years & numerous service calls. The burners took several trips and replacement of the castings to get them level. The ovens take forever to reach temperature and each one takes a different setting to maintain required temperatures. Both doors on the refrigerator and freezer have sagged and required adjustments. Currently, we have been waiting for a month for a part for the refrigerator, in order to get the temperature under 50 degrees. Called yesterday again and was told that the part was on order and coming from the factory. I asked if it was coming by Pony Express, hello Viking have you heard about FedEx yet? Good thing I kept the 15-year-old Whirlpool or we would be eating out of a cooler.

Also, the range takes a very long time to preheat and get to the right temperature. I had a Miele in my former house and it did the same thing. Our 30 four burner Professional Viking range is a handsome appliance, but I bought it for cooking and not for looking. Its been a huge disappointment given its cost. The burner ignitors were immediately erratic, continuing to spark after ignition or refusing to spark. Then the oven ignitors failed, something that has to work in order to use the oven. We got them replaced at a ridiculous expense. The Viking-certified repairman was quite forthcoming with details of the Viking scam as he laughed all the way to the bank. Now the burner ignitors do not work, but we simply use a butane lighter. No problem. However, now the broiler ignitor is failing and I have to reach in with the lighter to light it with a nice whump. Im worried about my eyebrows. Dont buy Viking products. Poor quality companies like Viking deserve a quick death.

A repairman told me that it has defective parts. Nothing caused by us. Total cost for the repairs is $576. The warranty states that only one part is covered for 5 years - of course, not the parts I need. The company (Viking) wasted a lot of my time only to state the same, Sorry, not covered. Frustrating. Viking refrigerators had the designs we were interested in so I bought from them. But the quality is very substandard. They had to replace the first refrigerator because it was defective. It took eight service calls with countless calls back and forth over a period of seven months to finally replace it. Then, they shipped a new one and before they installed it, the installer scraped off the insulation on the outside of the door. It was a custom ready refrigerator so we installed our own custom panel on the outside of the refrigerator. So now, we’re getting water drippage between the refrigerator door and the inside surface of the custom panel onto our hardwood floors. And the food is freezing inside the refrigerator.I’ve been going back and forth with Viking for a couple of weeks about this and I found out that they changed the engineering on the door. They’re saying that they can have new doors installed but they can’t be held accountable if my custom panels won’t fit the door. They’re not giving me any help. I called Juanita, the supervisor in the customer service department and she doesn’t answer our calls and doesn’t return calls readily. It’s ridiculous. My whole kitchen was breaking. I have this very expensive 42-inch side by side refrigerator, the dishwasher and the warming drawer. All the appliances are Viking. And then I don’t get straight answers from them at all. It wasn’t a good experience. I would not recommend it.

The store I went to had the Viking refrigerator at 18 months with no interest. But I had a horrible experience. They had a typical salesman who was just selling a product. But Im not very happy with the refrigerator. The door was bent a little and when I called the store for the warranty, they told me that I had to call Viking myself. A store should have a department to take care of the warranty for the product and not me calling 200 people to the warranty service. It was difficult. And the process that Viking had with their warranty made me feel like they didnt care about their customers. I called several times and they didnt know which companies in my area could take care of my appliance and they asked me to call the companies. I called several but they said they didnt work for Viking warranty. There was a lack of communication. If I’m a company and a customer that buys stuff in San Diego, Id know exactly which to call. It took several calls for me to get what I wanted. I had to wait for a company to come from LA, I live in San Diego, to come to my house to do my repairs. The tech showed up two weeks later. ut because he said there wasnt anything wrong with it, I had to fix the fridge myself. I work in the maintenance division.I will not buy another Viking in my life as I would have paid something cheaper with the same quality. I could have bought a GE or an Electrolux and I would have gotten the same result or better. Availability of parts is better too. I’m a reasonable person. If you spend about $14,000 on an appliance, they should treat you better. Right now, I try to order parts for my refrigerator because parts are not available. We keep kosher as part of our dietary restrictions and our meat is rather expensive. Weve had to throw out hundreds of dollars of meat because every night, my freezer stops being cold and goes up to 7,8,9, 10 degrees above freezing so it all thaws. I purchased a Viking refrigerator in 2006 and have had nothing but problems. Weve had thousands of dollars of repairs including replacement for several plastic pieces for over $750. In 30 years, Ive never replaced an interior part on a refrigerator. Viking said the interior pieces are only under warranty for 30 days. Relays have been replaced, the motherboard, and in October the compressor died and was still under warranty. The part was promised by Hadco and then rescinded. It took well over 3 months for the part to come into the dealer. Meanwhile, I had to buy a new refrigerator. I was supposed to go through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a working refrigerator. We were remodeling our house and I needed a bigger refrigerator. Viking was one of the better ones on the market so we got their 48-inch refrigerator. We also ended up getting all Viking appliances (a range, a hood, and a stove) because I wanted to stay with the same brand for resale purposes. However, we’ve only bought the refrigerator in November and in February, the mechanism that defrosts the coils in the freezer went out, and trying to get that fixed was not pleasant. I called Viking on a couple occasions and they said they had three contractors for us but two of them didn’t service refrigerators down in South Florida. The third company sent a guy out and he said he’ll defrost it. I told him we’ve been defrosting it every other day for a month while waiting for him to come out. He said “Well, I got to try this anyway and if it doesn’t work then call us back.” He defrosted it and two days later, it was icing over again. So I called the company back and they said I needed to replace the mechanism that defrosts it. They have it back ordered and I had to wait another month for them to get the part. I spent two months with a $10,000 refrigerator and I had to take a heat gun every other day and defrost the coils in the freezer so I wouldnt lose everything in it.After the mechanism went out, my husband read on forums that our refrigerator’s issue is a common Viking problem. And the tech they sent out didn’t speak English, which is fine because I speak Spanish. I kept asking, “Well, what is actually the problem?” And he said, “Well, it just needs to be defrosted.” He wanted me to sign all these forms and I said, “Look, I am not paying for this because this should be under my extended warranty that I paid for.” He said I had to sign it and that’s the only time I got him to tell me what he thought was wrong with our fridge. When I had to call back, I told them not to send the same guy but they did. He had no social skills. He didn’t even introduce himself when he showed up and left without saying anything. I had to track him outside the driveway and ask if it was already fixed. He said, “Well, just watch it. If it frosts over again then you’re gonna have to call another service ticket on it.”Though the Viking dealers were nice and helpful, the service could be way better. The number that I was provided for servicing in my purchase packet was redirecting me to the store so I had to call them and try to find servicing for it. I sat on hold trying to get someone for almost an hour to answer the phone. If I’m gonna be on hold for a long time, they should send my call to a voicemail and call me back. Other than the mechanism going out in less than a year, everything else has worked beautifully. The refrigerator keeps my fruits and vegetables fresher way longer than the last refrigerator we had. I liked that I always have space in it, and I also love the other appliances that we bought. I wouldn’t recommend the refrigerator for the price, but the other appliances, I would.

We bought a Viking refrigerator based on the quality of their stoves. Within the first two years, the ice maker had to be repaired, and then again a year later. Not only were the repairs expensive ($500), it took two weeks for their preferred repairman to get here. The most expensive appliance we ever bought, needed the earliest repairs, and for the most money-not a smart purchase.

Viking Ranges popped up as being nearest to my house when I did an online search. I like the brand. The stove is great, reliable and is a beautiful piece. They’re known for that but unfortunately, that’s the only thing they’re known for. I have the hood on top of the vent but it stopped working so, I called them. The customer service was very short. When some guy came out, he said that he had to change the whole part and he was going to overcharge me for something. But I was able to fix it by myself and it was just a loose wire. I grabbed a screwdriver, took it apart, took the thing out and then was able to put the wire back in place and now it works fine. It was pretty evident what was going on where it was a failure in the switch but they tried to scam me and make me buy a whole new piece which is ridiculous to me. I also have a Viking dishwasher and I figured that they could fix it. The technicians came out, was very nice and he did his best trying to fix the problem. He accomplished it ‘cause the dishwasher started working again but it was for half a day. The next day it stopped working and continued to be clogged. When I called back the technician to see if he could come back and repair it again, he never showed. He said he would call back and see if he would reappear but he never did. Eventually, I stopped calling him and I had to call a new place. I had to pay for somebody who will fix everything that the Viking technician wasnt able to fix. I was charged twice to get the repair. After that, I was reading reviews online and thought I should’ve gone with the different dishwasher. Viking doesn’t seem to have a very reliable dishwasher. The dishwasher is terrible. It keeps breaking down, flooding, it’s not easy to use, and it’s a disaster. On the whole, Viking is known for being exceptional and I have no complaints with the stove. Its phenomenal and it always works out great. But I would totally advise others to buy a different brand of dishwasher.

We were looking for counter-depth refrigerator design and there werent many options out there but Viking has one. On Monday, we actually contacted the store where we purchased the Viking refrigerator to let them know its having some trouble and to check the temperature because our freezer is over freezing. We adjusted the temperature and its still over freezing. We have a lot of frost in the freezer. My husband was to get back with the rep after we had adjusted the temperature. They said that they were gonna send someone out and have that checked for us so well have to call them back and have them schedule someone.

We were renewing our kitchen and we wanted something to upgrade our stove. My wife pretty much knew what she wanted. She looked at it online and she talked to our contractor. Then we purchased a Viking and during the installation, there were many glitches. The gas pipe was making the stove come out a little bit. But we called our gas company and they changed the fitting then it made everything fit fine. So far, the product has been great and my wife loves it.

We researched Viking and Wolf, and we decided to go with Viking. The sales rep at Best Buy kind of talked us into it when we went and started pricing out and looking at all the different merchandise. Then when we heard that we could get a 5% cashback by purchasing them, that was the determining factor. The look of our Viking range is stunning. We love how it cooks everything evenly. We bought the range and we bought the French wall oven. We like both of them. Weve been trying to clean the wall oven and we are a little confused on that because you put water because it’s a steam clean, and it’s just different than what were used to how an oven cleans. My husband put some water in it and then turns it on to self-cleaning. It just didnt clean as much as we thought. We bought the hood, the range, the wall oven, the microwave and we have been waiting six months for a fridge and freezer that we purchased as well. But I left a message this morning because I have not received any of my rebates when I went online and did all that. I called at 9:00 and I chose mountain time because we live in Colorado, and they said that they were closed, but it was almost nine oclock and I havent heard anything back. They have not returned my phone call, too.

We wanted the kitchen to be more of a showplace than just an average functional kitchen. We ordered all of the appliances at the same time in January 2021, but they werent delivered until end of May. So, there was a long delay in the arrival of the appliances. We had them all there at the same time before they would start the remodel of the kitchen. Everything was on backorder at that time. There was a lack of inventory everywhere. We knew that going in, and most every appliance brand we looked at had some sort of delay on it. And we wanted all the appliances to match so we ordered accordingly and waited, which put us farther down the list on the contractors list, which was a long delay. The range works great. My wife loves it. The only real incident we had that we didnt know we would have was when we got everything installed, the icemaker didnt work. And that didnt get fixed until January of 2022. Once we got it in, we had to go through the customer service thing because it wasnt making ice. Viking sent somebody out. He checked it out and had to order a new icemaker. When it came in, they installed it and everything worked fine.

I was very familiar with The Viking Commercial Ranges and when I remodeled my kitchen I decided to go with the Viking and expected to get same quality product. I have owned it now for 3 years and been sorry about my decision ever since. The oven doesnt have a temperature display and you never know what the temperature is. The controls are mechanical and connected to a electronically controlled board that fails after short use. The oven does not retain temperature and takes extremely long time to heat up. The cooking time is much too complicated for normal use and even the clock and timer are no simple task. To top it all, it is price at double the price of a Kitchenaid or a GE that do a much better job. I would stay away from Viking, save some money the agony.

I didnt like that the Viking refrigerator that I had was difficult to defrost. I also had to call customer service because the refrigerators light was not working and somebody said that the motherboard was not working. So, there were three times that they came and changed, and then they replaced the fridge altogether. The technicians were fine, but it took me a long time. I got the refrigerator in February, and finally, the replacement came and happened in April. Still, overall, Im satisfied with Viking.

Electronic control in door failed within the first year - replaced under guarantee. After 2 years water leaked because of a torn rubber door seal. At 3 and 1/2 years, while replacing another rubber door seal, discovered that the metal internal bar to which the bottom of the door attached had rusted and sealing screws no longer attached. Am completely disgusted with this supposed premium and professional dishwasher (actually, according to its back, made by Electrolux as is the Viking Pro refrigerator) - no one at Viking will discuss this, and at least one customer service person told me I was out of guarantee and out of luck. Will NEVER purchase a Viking appliance again! Their quality is suspect but the lack of customer support is evident.

Viking is a good brand. Its made in the USA and we like the look and size of their refrigerators. Ours is working great so far. The temperature control is nice and the doors open and close easily. Its like a French door refrigerator, but they dont hit each other. My sister has a Sub-Zero but its doors would hit each other if they didnt close them the right way. As with ours, the doors seem to be pretty seamless, which is good. However, the freezer in our fridge is like a pull out drawer and if I pull the freezer from one side, it gets off the track a little bit. Sometimes I have to straighten it out and push it back in, which is a little weird. Also, it would be cool if there was a water dispenser inside the fridge, though Im sure Viking has that on some of their high-end refrigerators. As for the Viking dealer, their team was on-time and they answered all my questions. They were absolutely friendly and respectful as well. It was an easy experience overall.

Viking was on sale and that led us to have a look at it. The construction of the range and the write-ups on it seemed generally good. Although, the one in Consumer Reports sucked and so it caused us to think about it. But I chose to ignore their relatively negative reports on the range. The sales representative was a very knowledgeable guy and took us through not only the Viking Ranges, but several of the other competitor ranges to look at the different features, trade-offs, and sort of helped with getting rid of some of the marketing stuff that doesnt matter as much as the functionality. We love it. Its been nice to use and cooks really well. The only thing that were having some trouble with is a piezo igniter on the front left. I was wondering what to do about that because it doesnt work very often at all. I might need to have somebody come, have a warranty look at it. But other than that, its fabulous. Were enjoying it and would recommend it certainly to other people.

We absolutely love Viking Ranges. My dad had a Viking range and hood for about 15 years and he loved it. He’s an avid cooker and that’s what sold us on Viking. And we’ve not been disappointed. They’re wonderful and fabulous. We went through Best Buy in Fort Lauderdale and they ordered everything for us. We’ve got the range that’s gas, which we were thrilled to get here in Florida since there is no natural gas. We had to put in propane to get that. We’ve also got the hood and the Viking microwave. We didn’t have the microwave for a period because of a problem with the display, but it works fine now. Other than that, it’s great.I also love that the stove top is incredibly easy to clean up. I just have to take the grates right off. We had a dĂ©cor stove top in our previous house in New Mexico and that one was awful to clean. I like that the gas stove, as well as the oven, seems to cook evenly too. We’re always showing off our Viking appliances. We have pictures of them which we show to people.

We got a Viking Range and one of the burners is not working. The place where I purchased it, Ferguson in Pasadena, sent a repairperson to come and it turned out one of the modules was not working. They were surprised that the module wasnt tested before it left the factory. We ordered a module and they are scheduled to come out and replace that. Also, some of the knobs with which I turn the range are starting to become really sticky and its taking a bit of force to turn them. Usually, when I turn the range on, I push it in, turn and then Ill hear the clicker start and the burner will come on. Now, I cant feel whether Im pushing it in or not and the turning isnt as smooth. Otherwise, the burning is fine. Ferguson was very helpful in getting the repairperson and with scheduling. If something like this occurred after maybe a year or two of use then I would say Well, maybe the product was kind of defective and using it made it fail. But this is right out of the gate, less than 30 days. Im having to deal with these two situations in a premium range. I have the Viking hood and microwave oven. Theyre all working fine except for this range which is not living up to the Viking reputation.

I have owned a Viking range oven, microwave and refrigerator for over two years. Although I did not purchase them I was very excited when we found out they would be included with the purchase of the house. Since then I have been less than impressed. The refrigerator constantly leaks from the bottom of the pullout freezer. I have taken it apart myself and had multiple repairmen look at it to no avail. It has ruined my wood floors and constantly has to have a towel placed under it to soak up water. My oven was working ok for longer however now the fan constantly runs. Regardless of what mode its in (including when its off.) This has made my kitchen a very noisy place. I have yet to take a part and diagnose this issue. Lastly my microwave constantly blows fuses. The clock is too hard to see on the small screen and when it does work it is very inconsistent. To add insult to injury, the cost of fixing any of these issues by certified Viking suppliers is absolutely outrageous! For the time being we are dealing with what we have until we can save money to replace each product in the kitchen. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this company to ANYONE! Buyer beware.

Purchased Viking stove and built in Viking microwave VMOS200 while kitchen was being remodeled so it sat in warehouse for around a year. Microwave installed and worked fine for about 10 years, and then it stopped heating the food. Researched cost of repairs and found them to be way high in cost because of labor and the cost of parts needed. Researched for similar issues, to find out that other with same problem as a result of some switches behind the keypad that were bad and needed to be changed. As per Viking the little switch would cost around $22.00 ea. I worked as a purchaser of electronic components and I thought it sounded fishy for a switch to cost that much. I used to pay pennies for some switches and granted there are different types for different uses, but nothing could justify $22.00. I took the switch description and specs and fed it into Google and like magic had a list of them including the one from Viking. Found the one that matched my needs for less than $3.00 ea., sent description of it to Viking and asked what the difference was.Vikings response was that there wasnt any difference between them and either one would be perfectly good to solve the problem with my Viking microwave. I purchased over $25.00 worth of switches because I wanted free shipping. Also, this model has 4 switches behind the keypad and I was not sure if one or more switches were bad. They are ripping off consumers with their high prices for appliances built by Sharp and sticking their Viking name on them and selling their made in China switches for $22.00. If this is not illegal, it should be!??? Does Consumer Affairs look into things like this? Wish they did.

We wanted a commercial stove for our upscale dream home. So we settled on a VIKING 6 burner/griddle stove with a double oven. The quality of the oven is poor at best. The doors dont line up and close properly and the oven has had to have all the igniters replaced within the first couple of years. The small oven makes a god awful noise when it ignites. We got a stove and some other appliances. The stove, we had issue with. Its a gas stove. The proper gas nozzle apertures were requested when we ordered it but they were not sent. And there were some issues between our local dealer getting that correct nozzle. That took time. And during the installation, the installers broke a piece of the stove or the oven. And it took two times to get the correct part. They got it the first time and they installed it, and the local people who were our installers and our repairer as well, said, “This isnt right.” So it went back to Viking. We talked to somebody. Got it right. And same thing with those nozzles. It wasnt done correct the first time. I dont know where that issue lies, if it was with our local person not being able to articulate what was properly needed, or Viking not understanding or sending the wrong piece altogether. We chose Viking for several reasons. The aesthetics of it, how it looks, the way it would fit into our kitchen, the design, and its reliability, that it was a very good brand. I like how, when we open the doors, they feel substantial. Most refrigerator and freezer doors, you open them, they feel lightweight and not put together well. The Viking, when you open it up, that door is heavy. Its not heavy like I cant open it. But it feels very substantial, that I have something there that would hold up and done well.

We wanted a happy marriage of performance and utility so we figured wed buy Viking. One of the big things involved in my purchase was BTUs, the power of the burners. I had something which was similar but the Viking range outperformed anything that Ive ever used. Its so much more efficient. I also have their microwave and we’ve had zero issues with it. Were super happy with it. I had paid for installation and delivery because that was part of the whole package. But with COVID, they couldnt do it. I just got my handyman to come and install it and it was super easy. The performance has been amazing. I love cooking on it. Its one of those free-standing ranges. However, the convection oven button blew out in about a month which kind of surprised me. I had used it once. Once I turned the convection oven on, I could not turn itself off. It was still under warranty so I did call Viking. The people at Viking were amazing. They were like, “Yes, absolutely. Its all covered. Its a brand new appliance. That should have never happened.” The service technicians that they contracted out to, not so much. I live in Austin and it took them forever. It ran for two days straight before they could come out and turn it off. Then they told me that there was some circuit that was broken so they needed to order a part. They came out and said they had the part. Five minutes later, the guy said it was the wrong part and left. I received no communication to the point where I had to reach out to Viking. I wrote them a very lengthy email saying, “Im not happy. This is not what I expected out of a premium product. This may not be you directly, but this is your contractor. I havent heard from them. Theres no timeline and its been months. Finally, it got fixed after multiple trips three weeks ago. That was not super nice.

We own a 5-Series Viking Dual Fuel Range which we purchased approximately slightly more than three years ago. (Largely on the strength of its so-called superior warranty). We are by no means heavy users of this appliance. Recently the electronic control unit failed, and rendered the stove useless with the exception of standard Bake at 350. The Service Dept told us its out of warranty, and the technician wanted a kings ransom to repair out of warranty. After all we read, wed hoped the new ownership would have turned this around, or at least stood behind their product. Neither has happened. This is so disappointing. We have purchased a genuine Pro-style Range with our local Dealers sound advice. This three year old piece of garbage is headed to the dump next week. The truck people looked it over after taking the plastic off and put it right back on the truck. They rejected it before I did. It was 10 days until I got a new one and the second one has been good so far. We like it but I have one minor complaint. I have to turn off the ice maker because if I let it fill completely, opening the freezer drawer will knock a bunch of ice on the floor. I dont use that much ice and the ice tray is oversized anyway. We moved into a new house and wanted to get a new cooking range. We bought one from Viking, which is our second Viking range, and its all gas. Its the smallest of the 500 series and 30 inches in size. I like the way it works for the most part and the fact that it doesn’t have a lot of electronics on the front. The soft-closed door and the roller-bearing shelves are nice, too. The quality of our new range is pretty good. However, we’ve had two real and serious issues in the last six weeks that we’ve owned it. The first problem was that the cooling fan had a bad bearing. It was making a total racket and it was an issue right out of the box. But Kimball Electronics, one of Vikings factory authorized dealers, was able to replace the cooling fan. The second issue was that the oven would not light and it was very temperamental about getting the spark for the oven. But Kimball Electronics fixed that this week by putting in a new orifice where the gas comes into the oven and adjusting the air so the spark could ignite without spreading gas all over the kitchen. Kimbal Electroniics have been great and so far, we have been very pleased with Viking. We have been for many years and with our new range. We got the dishwasher special with that as well and the dishwasher has been good, too.

There was a Viking Range in the house that we just bought. It exhausted and we bought another Viking Range to replace it and its excellent. It did exactly what it advertises it does and you know its well. It looks good in our kitchen and it works. We have three young kids so for us whats important is the functionality and having no issues. As long as the burners go on and we could cook things and use the oven like we do every day, and as long as its high functioning thats great for us.However, Snyder Diamond did not do a good job of communicating with us. They quoted us a certain time frame where the range would be ready but it wasnt ready then. They had the company that they recommended install the range go pick it up at the factory wherever they were holding the stoves and it wasnt there yet. They miscommunicated so it took longer than it should have and it was Snyder Diamonds fault, not the people who installed it. I thought they quoted me in when it will be installed by and then that was pushed by a weekend into the next week. Also, it was hard to get them on the phone or going through that process. I had an email back and forth with the guy from Snyder Diamond cause I was like, Can you give me a call? and he just wouldnt respond. And then I had to literally track him down. We needed the range and Ive never been frustrated and I dont understand why I cant get a callback about this. We were then about to spend $8,000 or $10,000 on this range and I deserved a callback in a timely way.It was top of the time because my wife was pregnant. We needed a stove for heating milk and everyday things, like for breakfast, and every day that passed was getting tenser for us. Its unfortunate for me that theyre the closest distributor of all these parts or products thats in my house now because Im trapped when it comes to dealing with them. On the other hand, the installers were excellent and they had their stuff together. They called me and they got to the bottom of it. They were problem solvers and Snyder Diamond was not.
