The control panel for our double wall mounted Viking range went out two months ago. Since then we have been trying to get it fixed. After a delay of 7 weeks, the part came. The part was defective and we have heard nothing since. I have twice talked to Albert Lee sales people about the company and the miserable record they have for repair. They said they were aware but will continue to sell Viking. When I asked about warning people I got no reply. The repair people are slow but are at the mercy of the company who bought Viking. Mr Selim Bassoul is the culprit at this company Middleby. They bought Viking and immediately the problems started. They closed the Distribution company in Washington and moved all parts supply to California. They bill themselves as the supplier for the entire Southwest. When I tried to explain to the parts tech about my problems, he curtly told me to be quiet and to move ahead. He didnt seem to care what the customers were going through. Its really too bad as they were a great company. Now they are the worst. Stay away at all costs from them and the people who support them.
The first two years with the Viking refrigerator was a nightmare. They came out 10 times. First, it was the wheels. Then it was the compressor. Then it was the coils. Something happened when it was put in. The people were inexperienced or they manhandled it. We told them to give us a new one and quit repairing it. It went back to Ferguson and they got us a new one. The install went better but the second refrigerator had a problem with the cooling fan. It was noisy from the second they plugged it in. Eventually, we got someone out. There were four or five different trips to repair this second one and sure enough, it was the fan. After two years, two refrigerators and 15 visits, the Viking refrigerator is working like it should. Its a nice refrigerator, but we went through a lot of troubles. Between two refrigerators and the repair, every time they repair it, you gotta take all the food out and I probably got scuffs on the floor. We wont get Viking again. We paid four or five times as much purely because Viking has such a good reputation but the worst thing about our house was this refrigerator. It got so bad that we called the attorney general of Minnesota who stepped in on the case. Vikingās been very polite when we call them up. The problem is there are different groups to work with - my contractor, Vikings, Ferguson, the person who installs it and a different person who repairs it.
My family has Viking range for a while and Ive also been using it. I like its quality. I received the professional series, and the only downside was that I didnāt like that there are pre-heat indicators, its not very intuitive. Other than that, its a great range.
I purchased close to $30,000 of Viking appliances. I bought two under cabinet refrigerators, wine coolers, a cooktop, a built-in microwave, and built-in oven, but never had a problem with them. The main problem was the refrigerator as it constantly broke down. We were very dissatisfied with it. We had to contact their technician three times to come out and fix the problem. But their repair guys were always good. They came with the knowledge of what the problem is and they fixed it. We also had a very bad experience with their dealer Pacific Sales at Best Buy in San Jose. They kept blowing me off even if I purchased extended warranty. They told me I have to contact Viking directly. Why did they sell me the extended warranty if they will not cover the problem?
We bought 4 appliances from this brand - Viking. Three of them already have problems. Professional microwave oven - doesnt work. The fridge that we thought made in USA and we paid such money would work for at least 10 years without problems. The plastic in the fridge is of terrible quality. Dont spend that much money thinking that their products will work very well.
Purchased one three years ago and are currently on our 7th repair visit. Reached out to customer support and there is none. Our latest issue was with the heat pump. Just melted the wires. Checked and they had a recall but it started with models later than ours. This is truly a safety hazard. Not to mention we paid twice what you would normally pay for a dishwasher based on the name and reputation of Viking appliances. We totally regret that decision. No product support, no customer support, how embarrassing.
I had purchased a Wolf 30 gas range but the infrared broiler was not as good as 16 year old Viking gas range. Wolf is a very reputable and reliable company and took back the range that I had for a few months and returned my money (a first class outfit). So I purchased a new Viking range and am thrilled with some of the new features. The shelves in the oven roll out and one burner has more BTUs than the rest for big jobs. Also the infrared oven is excellent and the top is now sealed so liquid does not drip down into the guts of the oven and rust it out like the old one. The company is not as generous as Wolf and made me purchase a new set of knobs with the color of my choice (black) for better visibility and would not take back the silver ones as an exchange.
The knobs on my Viking range that turn on the burners scrape pretty badly. You hear them and feel them scraping as you turn them. They donāt turn easily. There are eight of them and a couple of them do. The range was installed by the builder of our home. Itās a brand-new home, so we didnt get to pick out the stove. I like that itās nice-looking and itās big. But Iām used to having a clock and a timer and a cook time on and cook time off, and underneath, to store stuff or have a warming drawer. It doesnāt have any of that stuff. Itās just a stove with burners and itās a commercial grade.
Weāve always used high-end appliances and we have always used Viking. For the second house we purchased, the appliances came with it but with the first house, we purchased appliances and it was either Viking or Wolf, and we just went with Viking. The refrigerator is usually good. I also liked the size our refrigerator. Weāre a little disappointed that it broke and to have a repair so quickly after moving in. The refrigerator stopped cooling, which is a pretty big thing for a high-end refrigerator. For appliances that are so expensive, we expect, number one, not to have as many necessary repairs as we have had in the past; and number two, we expect the experience to be more seamless when we do have that.
I purchased a Professional Series Viking Range this past summer. Used it very little until the holidays came and day before Thanksgiving, it pooped out. So long story short, they got it working for a few days then 10 days before Christmas and all the house guests, the oven stops again. Parts ordered over 10 days now and no one seems to know where they are. The people who are contracted to service the oven are most definitely not the problem, it is Viking. This company has bar none the absolutely worst customer service I have ever encountered. They do not return calls, they put you on hold for literally hours. No one seems to know anything about anything. Even their supervisors are bad. All you can do is leave a message. It is a true shame that a company that is representative of how things are done in the United States of America has screwed it up so badly. They are apathetic. Too bad because not every American company is this bad. I have had a much better customer service experience with my foreign made TV. I would recommend that just because you pay top dollar does not guarantee you will get great service. They are the worst.
Oct 1, 20 -- The dishwasher stopped working and requested repair through customer service center. Oct 23, 20 - The repairman visited and he failed repairing machine and ordered major parts. Nov 20, 20 -- The major parts arrived and the repairman changed almost every parts and the machine failed to work and he said the whole machine should be replaced. Nov 23, 20 -- I called Viking customer service center and they gave me a new reference number. As of today (12/08/20) -- Any information received from Viking and still waiting their response. Nobody care of customer who needs their concern & action. Do not buy Viking dishwasher if possible.
I wanted a matching kitchen and since I wanted a Viking Range, I wanted everything else Viking. It was bought for a house that is currently being built and the refrigerator is basic as far as features go. I just have to keep my food cold and so far, the quality seems great. Also, the people that I bought it from were awesome. Iād recommend it.
Side by Side 29x79 Professional Viking Fridge and Freezer - Top of the line price and look. Worked well for three years and has been downhill since. Ice maker broke in freezer. Drawers split and fell out in fridge. All fixable until the seal started to tear on the door which as you would imagine, if not working properly it doesnt hold in cold air and temp rises. We ordered not one, or two but three times, went back and forth with Viking and three different appliance repair guys. Final analysis is that Viking no longer makes same seal and the replacement seal DOESNT FIT! IT DOESNT WORK! We have pulled our hair out trying to find someone whose fridge maybe blew up or fell out of the back of a truck just to nab the $100 seal from original fridge and have it snapped in 10 minutes. It is a CRIME that a manufacturer makes a 10K unit and then cant provide basic replacement parts and therefore deems the product obsolete.
My friend recommended Viking Ranges. I purchased one from their dealer and it went very well. However, when I turn off the burners, there is a really loud sound of the gas turning off. Also, the burners are big. I burned myself a couple of times, so I have to be careful. I cannot put any small pot on the burner, as well, because obviously, the red of the burner is bigger sometimes. And sometimes you just need to use smaller pots as you cannot use the big ones all the time. But, I like everything else about the Viking range.
The dealer I was buying from was having a weekend event and they had reps from different appliance companies. I didnt want the typical LG or any of the regular brands like GE Profile or KitchenAid. I had KitchenAid gas range before and I wasnt happy with it because the burner wasnt totally heating. It had a little gap, so I had to keep turning whatever I was cooking so it would cook evenly. I also had a GE refrigerator and that was awful. This time, I wanted something higher-end and so we decided to go with Viking. Also, Viking was still more affordable. I purchased a whole kitchen and all my appliances are now Viking. It looks great and itās definitely high-end. The range definitely cooks evenly and Im happy with it. The stovetop has been my favorite feature as well. Overall, one can tell the quality of Viking just in cooling down the stove or the oven door. I can feel the quality compared to the other standard brands.
The Viking Pro dishwasher we had was recalled because the heater would start fires, apparently about 20 of them! So they sent a tech to fix it - that took 3 months! So we washed dishes by hand. Then after they supposedly fixed the dishwasher it would give error codes like flooding, but it was not doing that it just would stop mid cycle - sometimes. So they came again after much complaining and could not fix it and suggested it MIGHT be a control board problem. Even though when they ran diagnostics there was nothing found to be broken. It was clear to me that fixing the heater problem caused the machine to randomly stop, yet they refused to fix it. Viking wanted to charge me for a new controller board so adding $400 to a unit I already do not trust. Clearly if it worked before they took it apart and replaced the wiring harness and heater then something they did during the repair broke something else!
My wife chose our range. Its the smallest Viking one with four burners on it. I bought it online and I like the size of the burners. Weāve only had it about a month, but it seems to be good.
I wanted to pair up all my products with the same thing. I was choosing from Viking, Wolf, and Sub-Zero, and it was a comparison between them. We chose Viking over the Sub-Zero line cause Sub-Zero has a dishwashing machine that has an interior that I wasnt completely satisfied with. In addition, Viking should also make a wine fridge so that my entire houses appliances would be a Viking. I have their range, the hood, and the dishwasher cause thats pretty much the only appliances that they offer. The range is good, but its burner tends to leave a lot of watermarks which is like a darkening stain. And for whatever price Im paying for them, it shouldnt be something like that. The appearance on the burner of a Viking should have been a little cleaner. The main effect that just blows me off. No matter how much I do, it looks like its dirty but its not. From my experience, I have heard of lots of people telling its gonna do that, and I already knew about it before I bought the product. I even asked the person where I picked it if there was any way to prevent it. I was told Ive got to replace it. I called Viking up and replaced the little lid. But the main thing is that it heats up all my food and I love that its flame. Its so powerful that everything just heats up twice as fast compared to a regular Sears product that I would have bought. I have a close relative that owns the Wolf line of the same exact products that I have from Viking, and I have used their products before I bought the Viking products. The Viking does everything like a commercial grade appliance would do but its not commercial grade so it does the effect for our household, in general. And it does work 20% faster with me cooking on a Viking than on a Wolf. But at the same time, the Wolf that I used was three years older than the newer series that most probably came out with the changes that they have. As for the dishwasher, its great and it matches all my appliances but I wish it was more fancy enough. If I have to pick a dishwasher all over again, I would have gone with Sub-Zero. Even though I didnt like the interior much, it is a little bit nicer in the features that Ive seen on the newer ones. Other than that, everything else seems fine and well-warrantied.
We went shopping for a refrigerator and Viking was highly recommended. It also had good reviews. The qualityās fine and I like the amount of space it has. Id recommend it overall.
Ive known Viking Refrigerators for so long. I like the look and the style of the refrigerators. They also have a better quality than the rest of their competitors. The refrigerator that I have bought is average and Ive spent $9,000 on it. However, Iāve already had a service call out here because the thing wasnāt working properly. Based on the fact that they had charged much more, their product and service should have been stellar. Even so, somebody quickly got out here and that guy was great. I also Iike the construction of the solid door. And also, I like the fact that the inside thing is made of metal. Purchasing from Viking was a good experience up until the point where they were to deliver the item, but then it all went to crap. When they delivered the item, they gave me a delivery date, but they didnāt meet that. And then they gave me another delivery date and didnāt meet that as well. So it was just a big fiasco. It took three days to finally have the item installed. Since that was a Monday, they didnāt even have it installed and so I installed it myself. Also initially, Viking was responsive. I had bought three different products. I bought a Viking Refrigerator, the beverage center, and the ice machine. And two of them were delivered on one day. The beverage center was deemed late by Viking. They said they didnāt have it yet. So, once again, the second time they came in, theyāre supposed to deliver it but they didnāt show up. They called me and told me that it wasnāt gonna be delivered for another couple days. And then again, it was supposed to be delivered between 12:00 and 5:00, and they showed up at 9:00 at night. The second time they delivered, the service level just sucked. These dealers are representing Viking. I know its difficult because theyāre not just selling Viking, theyāre also selling other products. But at the end of the day, it puts a bad taste on my mouth that Viking works with these people. If Viking wants to say that they are a service-oriented company and believes in their customers, then they ought to pay attention to whoās actually selling this product and whoās delivering the product in the homes because it only takes one experience to turn somebody off. So I donāt know if Iād ever buy another Viking again. I would also tell others that if they ever want to go buy the product, that would be fine but I would also tell them to make sure they do their research.
Iāve seen Vikings advertisements in home building magazines and I went with them because of the expected quality. The stove and the microwave-convection oven were delivered dead on arrival, and itās now six weeks so Vikingās trying to figure out if theyāre gonna replace them or not. Theyāve had three technicians out and I have not heard back in two weeks despite repeated follow-up attempts. The interactions are fine, but all the parts unfortunately are on backorder and are parts that they donāt stock. And thereās no definitive timeline for when the parts will be in stock. Every time I call the call center, they say Iām supposed to expect a call from a director or BT level that can make that decision. And they keep passing along the message, but I do not get a call back. I spent a ton of money on these appliances and itās very unfortunate that the service and quality arenāt there based on my experience so far.
The range is amazing. It has the highest quality out there. I like the the overall durability and the ability to have dual-fuel as well. I also like the multiple oven with eight burners. When we bought the range, the dealer was very knowledgeable, informative, and got us what we needed.
20 years ago we went with a Vulcan, a true industrial appliance and after years with that, we decided that we wanted something more refined. Viking Ranges features and design fit what we wanted so we bought it. I wish it was more affordable but we love it. I have three favorite features of the range. One is the thermostatic griddle because that was one of the big things that the Vulcan did not have. We had the combination broiler griddle so we had to manually manage the temperature on the griddle, which was a ridiculous amount of effort. Thus we didnt use it much. Having the thermostatic griddle now makes it very usable because it makes it simple - turn it on, set the temperature, wait 10 minutes and cook. Another favorite feature is the convection. I use it almost all the time. The last one is actually an accessory but I do really like it and thats having the wok grate. There was one defect with the range and we worked through the dealer that we bought it from and it was good. They thought at first that it was a defective grease trap so they just sent out a replacement. When that didnt fit, they decided to look a little closer. In the end, it turned out that the griddle assembly was not welded together properly, thus the reason that the grease trap didnt fit. The problem was addressed and weve had no other issues.
Worst oven ever!!! Do not purchase. Had it for 1.5 yr 5 times repairman was here. Oven does not cook even. Top rack it cooked bottom rack food was raw. Viking refuses to take responsibility for their product and will not cover repair costs.
Viking was high end, but cheaper than Wolf. Also, its relatively easier to clean than a Thermador. But Vikings quality is mediocre. If youre deciding between a Wolf and a Viking, you should spend the money and get a Wolf. But if youre deciding between if you want to go high end or low end, Id get the Viking because it is a nice brand. Everyone mentions it when they come in the house. The supplier that I bought the range from was amazing. They were so great in working with Viking to make sure I was under warranty.
When we bought the house, the Viking refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave were there. The issue that we have at the moment is that the refrigerator is not installed to the end. The water is not connected. For us, itās very difficult to find a way to connect. When itās installed the correct way, itās great quality.
I believe I can beat all negative reviews that I have read this evening... my Viking almost killed me tonight. It had been pulled out from its location into the kitchen because it had ceased to operate during the night... After a lengthy process we found a vendor to fix the problem. Whilst waiting for the part to be delivered tomorrow I said we must open the doors because as we have been told if a fridge is not functioning the doors should be open to prevent odors etc. As I opened the bottom drawer the fridge started to topple on top of me... my reaction was to try to stop it. However a 2 inch jut out in my counter caught the top door and prevented it from falling on top of me.Everything crashed out of the fridge and I was surrounded by broken glass etc. We tried to push it back in place but it is on wheels and the disaster was about to be compounded... trying to hold it in place we called the local fire dept... They arrived and carefully pushed it back into place. I have no words for this piece of junk... excuse me - very expensive piece of junk. Lucky to be alive tonight!
Ive been very familiar with Viking for many years but Im very unhappy with their service, and the service who I bought the Viking from. I knew it was a floor model at the showroom and they told me that it had been out there for less than a year and had never been used, and it was like new and would have the full warranty. But several pieces broke within 24 hours of me getting this $10,000 refrigerator. It keeps things cold but all of the door inserts, such as the shelves in the door, all were broken. When I called Viking, they said that this was a five-year old model. It had been sitting on the showroom for that long, which was never disclosed and they wont cover anything. It was a very disappointing experience and makes me want to avoid using Viking. Itās a nice refrigerator. Unfortunately, they are selling it through dealers that dont understand their process and theyre not standing behind it and not willing to stand up to their dealer. So, its not a company I would want to do business with again.
I have always dreamed of having Viking appliances. I moved into a new house and my wish came true, Viking refrigerator, Viking double ovens, Viking 6 burner gas stove and Viking warming drawer. This came with a hefty price tag but I was over the moon. A few issues with the appliance company, that was a little over 5 yrs ago. Then May 2014, out of warranty we were told by Viking and had to replace the motherboard in both ovens!!! To the tune of over $500. Viking had issues with this problem so extended warranty slightly on newer ovens, so they were aware of problems in past ovens. Fast forward 2 yrs and both ovens are down again. Big pop and smoke. Both ovens again. I have left messages with Viking. No response as of yet.
We got several appliances at the same time, so I had to interact with Viking a couple of times. Theyāre doing great. If I had the opportunity to compare some side by side over the years, that would be nice, but we didnt, so we spent the money. Although thereās a little insulator flap on the door of our fridge, and itās got a little rip in it, the fresh drawer that you could set the temperature to is a good feature. All in all, the prices are crazy, but quality-wise, Iām satisfied. Theyre durable goods.
We have a relatively new Viking wall oven that smokes terribly. We have used self-cleaning and then wiped out the residue, and it smokes terribly on the next use. Were not talking cooking odor; we get smoke so thick and fast that our fire alarm (not just smoke alarms) goes off and we are called by the monitoring company. Weve had Miele wall ovens in other houses with none of this trouble at all. The Viking is poorly designed in some manner. Maybe it greatly overheats, but there is no way to tell because there is no temperature gauge and no reliable indication (other than a flaky and useless light) that the oven is maintaining the set temperature. Unless Viking can fix or replace this terrible appliance, we are going to get rid of it and never buy Viking again.
Weve had a horrible experience with Vikings customer service. I got a brand-new fridge from them and it came scratched up. I told Viking about it and I sent pictures. But its very hard to show pictures of scratches, and they said they couldnt see the scratches. They sent somebody to fix it and clean the scratches, but they never really came off. A brand-new refrigerator should be perfect, yet it was leaking as well. It was a nonstop leak and everything was wrong with it. It was a lemon. Also, the door broke and wouldnt close, and we needed a new spring in the door. The refrigerator was under warranty, and we had many customer calls and bad experience. Whenever I called in, I sat on hold for half an hour. The contractor came here and said they couldnt fix the refrigerator. So, after 20 visits, we got a new Viking refrigerator. I had a GE before this that was a cheap refrigerator, but then, this was the worst incident Ive ever had. I wish they would make their customer service better. We have all Viking products but wouldnt recommend Viking to anybody. The product does not live up to its name and standard.
My comments echo the thread. I bought a Viking dishwasher in 2009. Im on my third repair. It worked poorly when it was up and running. Many of the electronic controls failed (e.g. did not run on pots and pans setting, but did run on normal). Now it simply does not run. I went into the repair shop on 5/14. As of 6/17, still waiting on parts from Viking. Customer service talks a good game, but thats about it. Its talk has not resulted in action. I have made a demand for a replacement washer (good luck right?). Ill update the thread on the outcome. For anyone who is thinking about a Viking, this thread speaks for itself. BTW, reliability issues aside, the parts do not fit (i.e. the rack attachments fall out of their fittings and develop rust. The silverware basket bottoms wear out, thus, allowing silverware to fall through).
I have a 6 burner dual fuel in TX and a 30 gas Viking in Seattle. Love cooking on both! The temperature control on all burners is far superior to the Dacor we gave away. Even heat in the oven is great for baking.
My first issue was that EVERY drawer cracked and they refused to replace them when it was clear that the initial cracks happened at installation. Pirch, where I bought the unit, did the honorable thing and resent new ones. This was in the 5th moment of ownership. Thanks Viking! My Viking fridge is now completely out after 9 months and they will get to me after 10 days because they are busy, despite the fact that I told them I have small children. They use 3rd parties who dont care about anything, except to bill Viking. They allege to have fixed their issues and service with the ownership, but that BS as the product is not impressive and the service is a zero. I gave 2 stars for the products good looks, but its all downhill after that, especially after 13k spent! Pos note: Customer Service lady was friendly/respectful.
We got a Viking Range when we purchased our home and it was recommended by the builder. Its been good quality so far and it cooks quicker and more even than the previous range we had. Im very happy with it and Id recommend Viking Ranges.
The Viking refrigerator has been excellent. However, the experience with the third party dealer was lousy. Three of the five pieces that I ordered had damages. They were cosmetic and not in a location where anybody would see but were pretty significant damages.
We built our new house in 2015. Purchased a Viking range, microwave, and dishwasher. Within one month, the dishwasher door pulley broke. Took 3 months to get repaired and the door actually ended up breaking so we had to get a new dishwasher. That took another 2-3 months. Our new dishwasher has now been repaired twice, and is once again malfunctioning. We had the repairman out over a month ago and still no new circuit boards have arrived. I would love a refund and would trash this dishwasher. We have had zero issues with our range and microwave, but very upset with the price point and quality of the dishwasher. BUYER BEWARE.
I wish I had read these reviews before I bought my brand new Viking refrigerator this year. Here is an excerpt from my letter to the editor of Consumer Reports Shop Smart Magazine about Viking. They had a piece in their latest October 2012 issue on recalled dangerous products and the Viking refrigerator is among the top 10 and clearly verifies the companys lack of responsibility.Letter to Editor: I wanted to thank you for your recent coverage on the top 10 Dangerous Recalled Products and the companies that are in the Hall of Shame. I am a very dissatisfied Viking customer and was an owner of the refrigerator that was on recall. The fridge was recalled because of faulty and dangerous door hinges. Viking replaced the hinges and then soon after, the replacement parts themselves were on recall! The Viking recall center called me to offer me a new fridge at 50% off. I took them up on the offer because my fridge was over 10 years old and is a built-in. I thought it would be nice to have a new fridge that would be similar to the old one and fit into the built-in space in my kitchen. I got the new fridge in February of this year and have constantly had problems with it overheating and spoiling my food. I have had it repaired many times under the warranty but it continues to have the same problems. The Viking techs seem to be at a loss as to how to permanently fix it and have now been slow in getting back to me. I continue to have a fridge that I cannot count on and a company that I cannot count on either. I have had to purchase a small dorm-size fridge to put in my high-end kitchen right next to my high-end Viking fridge that doesnt work properly. I was not surprised and somewhat relieved to see the article in your magazine about Viking. I now know that I am dealing with a company that fails to report defective products and continues to produce defective products. The lack of responsibility that this company shows to their customers and to the consumer is appalling and they deserve to be in the Hall of Shame. I am writing to their President and CEO and am enclosing a copy of your article in my letter. Thank you again for looking out for the consumer.
A friend of ours referred Viking Ranges to us, and itās probably the best product and we like it. It was easy enough to use. The filter on the fridge isnāt working properly and I hear a buzzing sound every now and then. I called Viking to let them know and I also replaced the filter, but I still hear that buzzing sound, so I donāt know if thatās an issue that they have. Still, Viking is good.
When we were searching for a range, some people were trying to sell me Wolf, Thermador, and Bertazzoni. There were some other brands they were telling me and I didnāt like what I was hearing. They were also telling me not to buy Viking but I stuck with my plan to either buy Wolf or Viking. I looked at Wolf first but then I didnāt like what some people were telling me about Wolf. They have good equipment but the price was extremely high. Then I found a guy who was willing to negotiate the prices so I decided to go with Viking. He did a really great job. He brought out all kinds of brochures that he had and gave it to me for me to look into it. Im gonna go back to his place because we are also interested in buying a refrigerator and we want to go with Viking. My wife and I are really happy with the Viking equipment that we bought. Everythingās working very well and we love that. Viking is the best.
In the later part of September 2016 we purchased a Viking Range model # VGIC 53014bss with high expectations only to find problem after problem with this range, as a matter of fact its a laundry list of problems and too many to mention. I could write a book in less time, its just not believable!!! My theory is and its verifiable that some of the more important components (parts) they install are sourced from China, Mexico etc. They are not manufactured in the U.S. or Europe and this is where the PROBLEM lies. This might not be politically correct but its a matter of fact, if you use inferior parts you should expect problems, and the words (made in the U.S.) becomes ambiguous, it should state assembled in the U.S. Its like buying a Cadillac only to find it has a Japanese motor. Buy cheap you get cheapNow onto the Viking customer care reps, these poor people are subjected to more abuse from disgruntled customers and their complaints, its as if they were part of the manufacturing process, I personally have had only good if not excellent experience with them! They can only do so much and have no options other than to say theyre sorry when problems arise, the executives are solely to blame (Accountability). It seems they must be distant from the overall process i.e. quality control, part supply, etc, etc, in actuality they should be embarrassed. Why should any Viking customer have to wait weeks or even months for service due to a lack of part availability? This also reflects on the service people and their small companys service job becomes protracted and customers like myself get disgusted.Ive recently dissuaded two of my friends from making a Viking Range purchase and not for any reason other than reliability, I am not going to be embarrassed. I just say dont judge book by its cover (oh but its beautiful). I agree but it does NOT live up to its name, its so sad especially when you spend big $$$s and thats for low end of the Viking range line. In summary and again I will not recommend Viking, hence to be forewarned is to be forearmed!!!
Viking Ranges had long-term warranty and they had reviews of how it cooked meat, so I chose them. There were multiple dealers so purchasing it wasnāt too difficult of a process. But youd need some plumber to put it in because it was so heavy. It was lifted not from the bottom and I donāt think they did a particularly good job of it. There was that kind of lip that came out and too often that was used, that was not reinforced enough to handle the weight or sometimes the door was also used incorrectly. It should not to do it that way, but it looked like a handle and people invariably lift and pull on it.In the two years and a half that Ive had it, weve had the thermometer broke and weāve had that replaced, but it was under warranty. We called them and then they called us back and then they made a stress test, but eventually we got through it. The process wasnāt super-fast, but weāre easy-going, so we managed around it.Im not really happy with the baking. Itās inconsistent. And with the stuff that got on the burners and spilled on it, you just canāt get them cleaned after a while. This is sort of the nature of the stove itself. There are certain parts that are more difficult than others. Everything that weāve read about it is pretty much true and that has been consistent. So, we knew what we were getting, that it was gonna be expensive, that it didnāt cook real evenly, but it still looks cool and they have a roadmap of how to get it better.
Viking refrigerator is very expensive at $13,000 plus tax. However, it was not that great because within a few months it stopped cooling down. On the contrary, it was warming up so it was losing a lot of food a couple of times. Luckily, it was under warranty so they replaced the fan, but that shouldnāt happen with a $13,000 refrigerator. I was not happy with that at all. We chose Viking because when we bought this house, they had used Viking professionals. We just wanted to match it when I replaced the dishwasher and the refrigerator. They have a good brand name thatās supposed to be really good quality, but it isnāt. Im building a house in Malibu and I donāt think Ill get another Viking because of that experience.
We bought USD 38K of appliances from Viking, and there is one advice: Never buy any Viking products. The Fridge stopped three months later. The wine cooler was fixed 5 times. The oven door paint peeled after 3 months. Worst service ever.
We were in the market for new appliances. We were at a store, and we liked the look of the Viking range and everything about it. So, we went that route. The quality of the range is great. Everything is what we expected. However, it took a long time to receive our product. Iām not sure if it was because of Canadian standards because we are in Canada, but the process of receiving it was quite long and dragged out. Iām not sure if that was the retailer or Viking, too. Also, I am not sure if there is a light for pre-heat because I dont see that on there, so I just guess as to when the ovens ready. But, other than that, everything has been fine.
The home that I bought came with a Viking range. It cooks evenly and its quality is really good. Its a great product and it makes cooking enjoyable for me. Their customer service is also top-notch. I had a small issue and they took care of it quickly.
The construction manager who helped us through the renovation recommended Viking and I was familiar with the company itself. As a profession, I have dealt with them professionally for hotels and restaurants. I knew the brand and the quality has been very good. However, I have issues with the dishwasher because it takes two hours to do what a normal one does. Also, the keyboard is not customer-friendly. There are a lot of buttons to push and usually, it takes a while for it to get to the program it needs to be washed. On the other hand, I love the refrigerator, oven and microwave. I wish the ice maker is larger but everything I have is good and I just have to master using the dish machine. The Viking dealer did a great job. They walked me through, helped me to get a credit line and delivered when they said they were gonna do it, so I was very pleased with them I appreciate everything Viking has done and I will recommend them to friends.
I had a Viking Range that I bought 25 years ago. I finally used it up and got a new one. I like the way the lights in the new one work a little better and the simmer setting. And I like that the burner pans are sealed. With my previous unit, there was a drip tray underneath that we had to keep cleaning all the time. The improvements are nice. I use my stove like a restaurant does and it has never broken down. Also, mine runs on propane and they lasted over 20 years. I dont know another brand that can do that.
The house that my wife and I bought in 2016 has Viking appliances in the kitchen. The refrigerator was a 2012 model that was installed and purchased in 2013, so we were a little disappointed that it released all the Freon and was unrepairable by 2021. Were disappointed that though the Viking Refrigerator that we had to get fit in the space for the one that we had without having to redo cabinets, it no longer has a water dispenser in the door. That was a big letdown. We also had to replace the door seal on a dishwasher and Viking had stopped making replacement parts for it. We ended up replacing the entire dishwasher. The repair service is a real pain in Connecticut because theres only one authorized company. To get them out to actually look at our refrigerator, even on an emergency basis, was a matter of weeks.
I had a Viking Refrigerator in my last house and I liked it. itās great! The only thing is at my old house, the drain at the bottom plugged real easy but you canāt really move it in and out because itās built in, so that was a little bit of a drawback. Itās expensive to get that repaired when it plugs so I finally learned how to do it myself. I put towels all over the place but it freezes up. I got a good deal on floor model for my new house. I got the whole suite of products. Its one of the nicest fridges Ive ever had and Im really happy with it.
The Viking dealer was great to work with and I had a very good experience. It was good customer service and quick delivery. Also, I like the power burner on the range.
I thought Viking has very good appliances. Iām learning more and more, theyre really not on top of the chart of being the best of the best. I dont like anything that I got from Viking. The fridge, I like the ice maker on the door more than the inside of the freezer ācause every time I open up the freezer, it always falls down. I also donāt like the stove. Its my fault for not spending 2,000 more on the self-cleaning oven. But I like the drawer microwave. Thatās working well. My dishwasher is working well too.
Ive known about Viking for years but its always been out of my price range. I was able to find a good deal at Pauls Appliances in Newark so I went for it because it is the best for sure. The dealers there were just great. They were very helpful and was telling me all the great things about Viking, so I chose it. They were very knowledgeable about Viking. I love my refrigerator. I like it when you open the doors, the lights come on slowly. And I also like that it has a separate door that I can program for like wine or something else. It is great and I ever move, I am taking it with me.
I researched on the website a while back and to me, Viking products were outpriced out, so I didnāt care for Viking at all and I was looking more into BlueStar and Wolf. But then this year I went to Best Buy and I saw the Viking range, and the customer service guy there, Cary, started telling me about it. I was looking at it and ended up buying it. And I was surprised because I never thought I was gonna have a Viking. But I love it and Iām happy with the customer service. Now the only thing is the cleaning portion of the ceramic part where I canāt get some tough stains out. And customer service doesnt have anybody that I can call and walk me through it or give me ideas. I have to look on the web, and thatās the only bad part. The baking feature of the range is great but itās a little bit slow. If I have a cake that is a 30-minute cake, the baking time goes close to an hour. I love to bake and a pound cake is supposed to be 45 to an hour and 15 minute and Viking goes close to the two hour time. The oven turns off and it comes back on, so baking takes longer. I may be doing something wrong but I donāt press the button for a convection oven. So Iāll ask the technician when they come. The dealer in the Pacific Department at Best Buy was an excellent help and Viking Ranges is excellent. Go ahead and purchase one if you can do it.
We had to replace our former slide-in in a rush because we were expecting holiday cooking soon. We purchased a Viking D3 after glowing reviews by our saleswoman. But the D3 has never worked right including a month after we purchased it. We had to cook the holiday turkey in the microwave, one part of the bird at a time. After contacting Viking, they sent out a certified repairman who had to order a part from Viking to make the oven usable. That took two weeks. From then on, the temps seemed to be accurate (we had to buy a hanging oven thermometer to tell), but the oven took forever to heat up. Even then, we couldnt cook anything then or now other than one item at a time and have it cook in the desired time. There are three racks in the oven... the instructions even show and explain how to cook using the three racks at once. However, the oven temps will not support using all three racks. We are also dissatisfied with the five upper burners. The center burner can only be used if the cooking pot/skillet is smaller than the large burner size indicates IF you are trying to use the other four surrounding burners simultaneously. You either use the four outside burners OR you use the large center one, but not all five at once due to size of the cooking containers. I am so disappointed. I wish I had purchased a low-end quality stove. This one sure isnt it. DO NOT BUY A VIKING APPLIANCE!!!!!
The range is expensive, but you get what you pay for. So, Im very happy. I love the grill top. The Viking range works great, but it doesnt have a couple of key features. There are two things that I would love to see incorporated into the range. One, theres no clock, which makes me a little bit crazy because Iām obsessed with time sometimes. Two, being able to program the oven. Theres no programming feature. With the old oven I had, you could put something in the oven and program it to start baking in an hour or two hours. The range is a professional system and itās designed for professional kitchens. So maybe some of those retail-oriented features dont come in that model. But it would be good if it did.
We have Viking in our primary home and we like the quality of the appliances as well as the pricing for the quality that we get. So we got the whole package, wherein if you pull up the stove you get the dishwasher, and if you buy the refrigerator you get the hood. We like all of it and how the refrigerator looks in addition to how it functions. We also had a very good experience with the dealer.
My Viking wall oven was purchased in 2010 and has needed many repairs. The ignitor switch two times and the DSI module 2 times. The DSI module that was replaced three weeks caught fire and the oven is now toast. The customer service is a No Customer Service dept. Also many problems with my Viking dishwasher that have needed many repairs and is now leaking water from below the door due to a design problem which No Customer Service refuses to acknowledge. The Microwave light panel is now so dim it is almost unreadable. DO NOT BUY VIKING!!
I had a Viking range that lasted for 18 years, which was great. When we replaced all our appliances, we stayed with the whole Viking line, ācause we got a discount. They included the refrigerator if you bought the range. However, when they plugged the refrigerator that they installed, it didnāt work. It didnāt even come on. Then we got into a little argument with the guy and told him that they gotta take the refrigerator out if it doesnāt work because P.C. Richard, where we bought it, said that they should not leave it there. But they made good and they came back the next day with another refrigerator. At the same time, the range didnāt work either. I had gotten into a big argument with Viking headquarters and P.C. Richard that the range doesnāt work and they didnāt believe me so I had to wait a couple of days to get a Viking repair guy to confirm that it wasnāt working. Then, I had to wait four days for them to take the range out of my house and bring a new range. Also, theres a minor issue with the dishwasher. So, overall, the appliance purchase was a very bad experience because the guys were in my house installing everything half of the day and I gotta wait for them. We wasted five days on the whole process. Moreover, they have a Viking pots and pans set, which is $500, and I told them that they should send me a gift certificate for all the hassle that I just went through, but I never heard anything back. Lastly, the customer service reps at Viking knew everything that was going on but no one from them ever got back to me even though they told me I had to keep going to the retailer, and that was a nightmare because of the way P.C. Richard set up with inventory. Given my feelings with Viking, I have mixed emotions about recommending their products.
My refrigerator has leaked for 10 months. I have a side-by-side freezer and refrigerator each freestanding unit, but they are mounted in together. My freezer was reinstalled crooked, and now Iām waiting to hear back from Viking to get it adjusted and installed correctly. I first reported the incident with my original refrigerator in July of 2018. It took me 10 months and 11 service calls to get my unit replaced, and many windows of times waiting for someone to come and service it as recent as yesterday because my Viking refrigerator and my Viking freezer had two different badges on them -- the tag on it that says Viking. One says Viking Professional, and itās 2x4 inches large, and the other one is 1 inch by 2, 3 inches wide, so they dont match. They sent someone out to fix the badges, and the repairperson was not able to because of the badge that was sent. So, I took time out of my day to be home during my service window, only for him to tell me, āSorry, I canāt do anything for you. Youāll have to call again.ā I would tell others to buy a Sub-Zero instead.
We owned a Viking in our previous home, and we are familiar with appliances, so we wanted to have a Viking suite in our new kitchen. We were the happiest with the double oven in our previous place. We had a different model, and the convection ovens were great. So that was our starting appliance, and then we just said that weāll go with Viking. We thought about Sub-Zero and Wolf but we decided to go with Viking again. We like the size and the look of the refrigerator. In terms performance, everything is fine for now. Iām happy with the way itās performing. I like the feature that you can control temperature in different compartments in the refrigerator, and thereās ample space in the freezer. The whole suite is the reason that we wanted to incorporate the refrigerator as well. But I would go with a different dealer next time.
I always liked the look of Viking ovens and since Viking always seems to have a package deal sale, we got suckered into buying the package and āsavingā some money. The Fridge is awful. The door is too heavy and constantly breaks. They will send someone to fix it, but it is a temporary fix. A band aid. We have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of food because this fridge door will not close right (very bad design way ā too heavy). They will not do the right thing and replace the fridge. I wish we bought the other brand thatās a bit more expensive but actually lasts and is built right. Donāt fall for the bundle deal. Thereās a reason they offer it.
Friends recommended the Viking refrigerator, and its name-brand and model made me go with it. It has a feature of ice in its door, and its my favorite. The quality is okay, but I had to do one repair recently. Ive also changed the refrigerator once since 2004. There was an issue with something and they offered to upgrade, so we did to get the ice and water in the door. Then, I had to replace the solenoid valve once for the ice-maker and the door stop. The parts of the refrigerator are expensive but other than that, they have very good customer service reps who are very helpful. I told them what was wrong and they sent the service guy out. They were able to fix it and they didnt have to come back twice.
I purchased a Viking range a few years ago. Two of the stove top burners have stopped working. The replacement boards to fix problem are $1200.00 just for the parts, and Viking cannot guarantee they will work, AND they will not let us return parts if they dont work. I would NOT buy these overpriced, underperforming units again.
We liked the Viking brand name and the look of their products. So, we redid our whole kitchen with all Viking and got their products through a dealer. Our Viking range is good and powerful but it is so much stronger than what I was used to, so I burned a pot early on. That has been a learning curve for me and I dont know if thatās in the materials because itās sort of overwhelming when you get all new appliances and unpack from a renovation. That might be my fault but that could be somehow highlighted for other people. Also, there was a problem with the ranges starter from the beginning so I had to have that repaired. One of the grate panels rusted, too and it was replaced. But the black on the replacement is a little different though and it doesnāt match the others if you look at it. Plus, a little piece fell off of one of the grates and I still have to glue it. I paid for it and Viking was supposed to send us two pieces of that but they sent only one. I also find it difficult to clean or get stuff off the stove top, although I try to not worry about it as much. That has been a bit of a learning curve as well. We have the Viking range for a little over two years so far and I donāt think that these problems should have happened. That is not what I would expect.
Ive known about Viking for years and they have always been a commercial line. My wife and I have always enjoyed cooking. We thought we would take a step up in quality so we got one. We are enjoying the Viking range. We had a different range for a few weeks but we decided to have a cast plate into our house. So I did that first then, I ordered the Viking range from the retailer inside Best Buy. We bought the 30 inch, which is the smallest one that Viking makes but it makes a heck of a difference in cooking. However, I wish we would have a larger space. We wanted to widen the kitchen, take some cabinets down and put in either 38 or the 42 but we just couldnt scrape up enough pennies because Viking is not a cheap stove. We also got the combination which we like because the oven is larger to do the cooking. The oven is electric and the top is gas so its really nice because the oven is all hidden and sealed. I also love the idea of the quick heating. It has the solid, medium and the consistent heating where you just set it and its awesome. Unlike when itās electric, the heat is always coming off and on in order to maintain a certain temperature. Were really happy with the Viking range. We love the feature of the sealed burners as well. Its so easy to clean. The stainless steel takes fingerprints that bad but with just a couple of wipes, its all cleaned up. Viking range is beautiful but itās not for someone who doesnāt cook that often or not a good cook. Itās an overbuy for them. But I would recommend it to anyone who has the enthusiasm that my wife and I have when it comes to cooking. We really appreciate it and we love it. Its worth every penny.
When it was time to replace my range, I went with Viking because the other brands gave me a hard time. The rest of the range worked, when I got it, except for the infrared broiler. So, I registered with Viking and they sent service techs from R&E Appliance who were able to take care of the problem right away. It was a little disappointing that the range needed new parts right away. Other than that, the range has been working ever since it was repaired. I love the quality of the range and I like the way the lights light up across that I can see my knobs. Then the burners are on high right away when I turn them on, so I donāt have to fiddle to get them on high because they usually donāt cook low. Also, things roll out of the oven easily, so youāre not fighting against trying to pull it out.
I bought a house that had Viking appliances and one of them was a range. Its quality is great and I like the size. Plus, the burners are easily adjustable and I can find the exact heat I need. The appliances are good but they need to have more knowledgeable repair people and a more formal contact procedure in Canada. Ive had experience with other larger companies where you call a head office and they provide you with your repair. And it was not the experience I had with Viking. I had to find my own and I found an excellent repairman, but it took a long time for me to find him.
We wanted to get a high-end range that had good reviews. We then found a great website that had a good deal on getting a package, because we were replacing everything essentially. We knew that Viking Ranges was a really good brand and wed seen them in some houses we looked at. The range has been amazing, and the hood has been great. I really liked its quick heat control.
Viking Ranges is all over and I know itās a very good range so I went with them. Im happy with its quality and I like their six burners. Also, Iāve never had a gas oven so Iām happy with that too. The people I bought the range from was Ferguson, and I had some issues when it was delivered. There was a part where the oven door shut and we couldnāt get the light to go off. I had to call Ferguson, then they had to notify Viking so they could come out and fix it. It was evidently a factory flaw. It took about a couple of days to get someone out. Nonetheless, I had an excellent experience. I would encourage my friends to seriously consider purchasing Viking appliances.
Our house came with Viking appliances. The refrigerator/freezer VCSB423SS started thawing food in the freezer. The Viking authorized repairman diagnosed the problem as a floating restriction and quoted us $4,000 to decontaminate each unit that uses freon (evaporator, heat expander, etc.). That amount is only for labor since the unit is still under the 12 year warranty. I cant believe it will cost $4,000!!! Can someone from Viking verify this amount?
We bought Viking Professional which we thought would have been their best of the best and weāve not been happy with it. I was really excited about the purchase and itās been a disappointment. With the first fridge we had, water was pooling. We had three different service guys out, the last one being a Viking service person who couldnāt figure it out. They ended up replacing it, and with the fridge that they replaced it with, the door is not aligned correctly. Weāve had two people out to try to fix that and that has been unsuccessful. After three service calls, a fridge replacement and two additional service calls, six different times Iāve spent the day in the house waiting, weāre done. I would tell anybody else not to purchase it because itās a lot of money and weāre settling because Iām truthfully just tired of it. I wouldnāt purchase another one.
We purchased a 30 Viking range. It is all gas. We have experienced extremely hot wall tile directly above grate that lines the back edge of range when gas oven is on. Water droplets run down the tile for first few minutes of preheating. I am worried to use the oven since tiles at back get very hot. I rarely use oven and we spent so much money to purchase Viking. Also there was a recall on a oven part and we had Viking service is already 3 times. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
All Viking appliances provided by the builder when house was purchased new in 2010. Have already had the dishwasher serviced 4 times, had to replace the interior racks, and finally had to remove it and purchase a different one. Now the refrigerator is acting up - service company selected by Choice Home Warranty has been out here 4 times (so far), replaced thermostat, sensor, ice maker, gasket. I have completely defrosted the unit 3 times since September. I am still getting frost in the lower part of the unit. In my consumer opinion, a $10K refrigerator should last more than 7 years. I have a smaller $300 Home Depot HotPoint refrigerator that has been running non-stop (except for 2 interstate moves) and I have NEVER had a problem with it. Seems to me the more expensive one should last longer. Save yourself the headaches and DO NOT get Viking branded dishwashers or refrigerators. And it is difficult to find authorized repair people.
Im satisfied with the quality of my Viking Refrigerator. I had three Viking appliances and when the dishwasher was having an issue, they replaced it. I was satisfied with their customer service.
This is the one and only online product review I have ever written, and in spite of the many that precede mine, I feel compelled to chime in and advise other consumers to avoid Viking refrigerators (and dishwashers too, for that matter) like the plague!! We spent 2 1/2 yrs. on a complete state-of-the-art rebuild of our official historic landmark Victorian, to which we returned in July, 2007. As a Realtor who specializes in the sale of luxury properties in the San Francisco Bay Area. I had been recommending top-of-line Viking products to clients who needed to refurbish and stage their homes for resale. Today, I feel badly for ever having done that!We have a built-in custom paneled upper/lower Viking fridge that acted up immediately. Within a matter of months, the fresh produce in the lowest pullout semi-froze and had to be discarded. I believe (but am not certain) that special heater was installed under warranty to prevent this from happening again. Before the year was out, another problem (forget the details) and was fixed. Then, right after the warranty expired, the contents of the freezer melted and we paid for the installation of another heater... At some point thereafter, water from the fridge started pouring out onto the hardwood kitchen floor. Thank God we were in town when this happened and able to towel up the leakage for a few days until another heater could be installed. The entire bottom of the unit was frozen solid, and the floor boards immediately against the unit had warped.. Under duress, Viking paid for this repair. Finally, within the past year, the cooling of the refrigerator compartment ceased and we were without refrigeration for 4 or 5 days before -- you guessed it -- yet another heater could be installed (the cooling ducts had frozen). Additionally, we got a recall notice for the defective front door. The dealer who enthusiastically sold the Viking appliances to us stated in response to my expression of distress & disgust: Demand a replacement from Viking. Theyve had nothing but problems with those refrigerators (and dishwashers) -- they suck! I requested a replacement, without success... As for the dishwasher, while all the interior components had to be replaced and I must basically hand wash everything and use the unit for sterilization purposes only, at least its performed better than the refrigerator. Enough said!
I always knew about Viking from reputation. We purchased homes in the past and my brother is also a chef so hes used to the Viking products and higher end appliances. I was in San Francisco and our home builder had Viking as all of our appliances. I have my whole kitchen, as well as the dishwasher, the refrigerator, the stove, the microwave, and the oven with the Viking line. The refrigerator is great and I like the look of the French double doors. Ive had the refrigerator for two months but its not working at its optimal level. The ice maker doesnt work. But it was a good experience when I called Viking about it. They were able to set me up with a local provider. However, the local provider just came out a week ago. And it had taken them almost two weeks to come out to fix it. And they still had to order a part and its gonna take a little bit longer so I had to go to Starbucks to get ice.
Bottom freezer floor has 1/2 of frozen ice. Bottom of refrigerator leaks all over wooden floor which is now ruined. Had nothing but problems with this refrigerator from day one. Dont buy a Viking product ever! Dont know what to do at this point. Any suggestions? Can it be fixed? Is it worth trying to fix if possible? Need someones help!
We heard good things about Viking. They have good refrigerators and good warranties on them, and we thought it would be good to have one of their refrigerators. The quality is great. Itās got the bottom refrigerator on it. We like the bottom freezer and the French door top-to-bottom. It has the water on the inside. Weāve only had one problem with the fridge though. The compressor went out. It would run but it quit cooling. A man came up, checked it and ordered the compressor. It was covered, and it only cost us $149. He put it back together and within three hours, it was cooling again. Id definitely tell others that they wont find much better than Viking Refrigerators.
Vikings price point was within our target range so we decided to go with them. The Viking dealer was good. The product looks cool and people think it looks cool too. The quality is fair but Iāve got some issues and Iām hopeful that those will be fixed.
Viking is reasonably priced and is a decent-looking commercial brand. I like my refrigerator. The quality is fantastic. I like the size of it. Itās big and bulky, and probably a waste of time and money but I like it. I also got a stove, a little 30- or 36-inch, the hood, the microwave, the dishwasher and then I have a wine cooler. But I wasnāt that happy with the people. They didnt take me seriously, first of all. I went and spent like $20,000 or so and then I spent more, and they were acting like idiots. They didnt know half of what was going on with what they were selling. They didnt sell anything, actually. If I hadnt known what I was gonna get, I wouldnāt have a clue. But I had done all my investigating ahead of time. Iām a contractor too so Iāve seen stuff. The delivery service was terrible as well. They dropped my fridge when they delivered it and if I hadnt been there that day, it wouldve rolled over. I thought people who would sell this material would be told they better put their heart into it and act like they know what theyre doing. But they didnt actually have that. So Viking is not being represented so well where I bought it from. That was not a Viking dealer that I went through though. It was just a store that sold their products. It wasnāt actually Pacific Sales or Snyder Diamond. The Pacific Sales store over in Burbank is very attentive. I just donāt like going so far but when I do go, theyre all over you.
On 4/10/18 our new Viking appliances were delivered and installed in our home. The side by side refrigerator freezer did not cool at all. The following day the salesperson came and tried to get it working without any luck. He called Viking who informed us they would come out the following week. We also discovered that the Downdraft to our brand new Viking Stove did not work as well! The following Monday a supposed Viking technician came to our home to check both appliances. He had no computer to run diagnostics and no email acct to his phone. The Viking phone operators had a difficult time discussing the problems with him. He informed us that BOTH appliances needed parts and that it would probably be around 10 days. Here it is the 25th and I havent heard from them. Over $20,000 spent on appliances and half of them dont work from day 1!!!
Vikings range is a great product for the price. Its quality is beautiful. I also like the look of it. Its six burners have been my favorite since I get a true heat and I do a lot of cooking.
Viking had been recommended by several people including our son and daughter-in-law who had one for a long time. The range we received over two years ago turned out to be just froth with a series of problems and we had various Viking repair out there. We received a factory replacement about two months ago and theres been one little igniter issue. But that was fixed and were back on board again. If it wasnt for the repairmen who knew our problem, we still wouldnt have one. We would have thrown it away. It was terrible. We just plainly could not continue with a device that was so unpredictable. The oven knobs got incredibly hot and the fan was really noisy. And it repeatedly would shut itself off. I would never buy a Viking stove again. And the one we have now is working much better. It shut itself off, but it was the igniter and the repairman fixed it. But the knobs dont get hot and the fan is extremely quiet. And thats so much nicer than we the one we had that was extremely noisy which almost shake the house.Viking made some changes with their service and repair facility and model. They went to an outside supplier that made multiple visits but had no knowledge of Viking as far as training. But when we finally got to the Viking employee that takes care of the State of Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska, he has been great. If it wasnt for him, we probably wouldnt have that stove anymore. We went through a lot and there was not a lot of support from Viking. I started keeping a log on Microsoft Word and its now over eight pages. And of all the various different calls, their replies, the kept emails that are incredible. But anyway, its just been a long journey. You got more than what you want to know.I went on Facebook at one time on their website to say how much trouble I had had and they replied with, Oh, well call your Viking such and such. We dont want this to happen. But it didnt do any good.
I like the refrigerator but the doors and the freezer door are damaged. I had the company that Viking uses come out May 4th. I called them and they still do not have a time on when the refrigerator door and the freezer door will be replaced. Also, the bottom part of the stove was damaged. So, Im not pleased. I did not expect products of that quality and cost to arrive damaged. The other issue I have is that their plastic covering is horrendous to come off. They need to do something better about that especially when people have issues with their hands. I still have plastic on it, in the corners and underneath. People should not accept the refrigerator unless its totally perfect and they have to take all the plastic off to make sure it was perfect.
Our designer and the manager of the store we went to highly recommended the Viking range. We love its look and the small oven is awesome. My husband is the main cook and he loves how it simmers where you can get it really low and then also for making meatballs. As of this moment, our Viking isnt working properly. Parts are needed and the appliance repair company said that they have been waiting on it for over a month now. But other than that what works is great. The only suggestion I could make is for them to have a childproof type of lock. They got plastic covered knobs but those dont look good. The ones where you can push in and turn would be awesome, but I could not find any.
Weve been very happy with our Viking range since weve had it. Weve spoken with a lot of friends about the dual fuel and were really happy that we did. It cooks really evenly and we still got the gas on top. Its fantastic.
Our neighbor has a Viking refrigerator and I like the appearance. It also seems like they last longer. We bought one through Best Buy and the specific sales person was really good. I like that the fridge has more shelves than usual, but when we had it installed and opened it, the drawers were cracked and I am frustrated with that. It would have also been nice for the fridge to make crushed ice, instead of the big ones.
Less than 2 years old is making noises and doesnt clean. Called Viking, they dont have anybody in Erie that wants to repair it. Everybody runs away from my dishwasher. The same people that have serviced my Gaggenau, Bosch and Sub Zeros dont want anything to do with my Viking dishwasher. Professional, what a joke. We have barely used it and is already broken. The worst part is customer service. No help at all. Im cutting my losses and ditching this piece of junk.
We previously had a Sub-Zero refrigerator and we love it. We had the long handles with the furniture door front on it. My wife wanted to have something that evoked that look. We knew that we did not want to go for Sub-Zero appliances again in this remodel in Florida so we went with the Viking refrigerator because there was a point price differential and it was attractive. Plus, the gas stove was decent, too. However, our problem with the refrigerator has been directed towards the cosmetics. The skin is just ridiculously thin and every door that we had delivered had dents in it. In the light, you can clearly see the dents and there are also obvious manufacturing issues such as the bottom freezer door. The top lift of it has the same three dings on the upper lift, through every door that weve seen in the same spot, so its clear that there is something on the assembly line that ticks these door fronts up and moves them along the line. My wife went online and spoke with somebody at the local Viking place down here. The authorized Viking dealer where we bought it and we dealt with has been wonderful and the refrigerator is working fine. But its just so aggravating to look at the refrigerator and see these little reflections off of dents and it really makes it look like not a quality product.
We bought a home with an Italian Fhiaba refrigerator. We had a lot of problems with it and we had to replace it. It cannot be repaired and we only had a certain amount of money that the manufacturer had given us to purchase another refrigerator. The Viking was on sale and thats why I purchased it. It was not my first choice though. The drawers for produce, meats and cheese storage bins are so cheap and I was shocked at the interior for a Viking product. I was sad to lose my Italian refrigerator which was well-made and had beautiful interiors. I would not have bought the Viking refrigerator but it was at the right price, so I ended up with it. But would I buy another one? Absolutely not. We purchased a completely renovated home, and all the appliances were Vikings. The six-burner gas stove and the microwave are all okay, and they work great. But I would not recommend the refrigerator. When I knew I had to replace my previous refrigerator, I went onto several websites to read reviews, and very few of them were good. But my husband wasnt going to spend more money because we bought a house with a $10,000 refrigerator that ended up not working after two years. Even the plastic inside of a Sears Kenmore refrigerator is better. Viking has these soft close drawers for cheese and veggies, which are awful. I have to treat them with kid gloves, because Im afraid theyre going to break on me at any given moment. The company that owns Viking make commercial grade refrigerators and U-Line is one of their products. Its an amazing refrigerator. Why dont they use some of the same materials? Viking has been synonymous with high-end quality. But they really fell short on this one. Looks good on the outside, poor quality on the inside.
I had a Viking range when I lived in Southern California for 20 years and couldnt kill the thing. Initially, I purchased it for status. It looked so great in my house. With a culinary background, I quickly found out that this range was amazing. It performed. I moved and could not take it with me. We finally built our forever home and one of the requirements was that I bring that Viking back. I have a whole Viking kitchen. The window in the range in the oven part of it is not the same as it used to be. This seems like it needs some kind of gasket around it. I sometimes see steam between the glass. I was told thats normal but it wasnt like that on my other range. But all in all, it works really well. I love it. I had a GE in another home and it was like junk. You couldnt clean it. Itād scratch. I took the air filters out and washed them. They fell apart the first time. You dont get that with Viking. It is a lot more money but you get what you pay for. I tell people if youre going to invest in appliances for your house, this is the way to go. Its everything you need and Viking stands behind their product.
Ive been using Viking for the past 13 years but I dont think Im gonna buy Viking appliances moving forward. I was very happy but not anymore. I have lots of properties and in most of them are Viking. I like the design of the refrigerator but in the past three years, the refrigerators are very bad quality. They just keep breaking down and all the repair people would come in and say not to get Viking. I like too that the dishwasher can have the filter but it breaks too often. Last year, I spent over 20 grand but some stuff was on backorder. So, I told the supplier that bought one for me to put in my invoice that I bought two. Then, when I asked for the rebate, they said that I didnāt qualify because I have one invoice. Even though the guy who I bought it from said it was gonna be okay, I didnt get my rebate of 5%. They could have looked at my file and made an exception because they would be out of pocket fast and it wasnt my fault. They should have fought with the reseller, but I didnāt bother. So, theyve lost a loyal customer.
Our kitchen looked beautiful. Viking appliances look great but dont last. Bought a wall oven in 2006 and had it fixed twice and then had to replace it with a Maytag in 2012 because the self-cleaning option burned up so much of the electronics that it was cheaper to buy a new oven. Our microwave, also bought in 2006, has been repaired twice and now we are going to replace it because it needs to be repaired again. Our beverage refrigerator either freezes anything close to the sides or can only keep things above 40 degrees, nothing in between. The thermostat was replaced but it made no difference. We are now using it as a cabinet for extra housewares. Our dishwasher works GREAT since we only use it about five times/year. The oven door on our large 6 burner stove has never been level but it works well enough for my use. My calls to Viking have produced nothing but oh sorry, you are just out of warranty but here is your closest authorized repair shop. I will NEVER buy another Viking product and will not recommend them to anyone.
Our Viking range is an older one and has got black porcelain. I dont like that and I rather it be all stainless. Weve gotten some things replaced on it such as the black cover on the range top. Right now, the door springs are broken and the techs are coming tomorrow to fix them. It took way too long to order the parts. I called in June and I still dont have an oven. I have the professional series and I thought it would have been bigger. But I got just a regular sized cookie sheet and it almost scraped the walls of the oven because of the way they have the handles on the edges. I have to get rid of that now and get smaller ones.
I just got my oven from Viking a couple of weeks ago and the rebates were bigger than Wolf. But, I realize it doesnt have a clock which isnt a big deal. Ive cooked two meals on it so far and its a great oven.
Th experience with Viking has been good so far. The silver is fantastic but itās funny how things are made nowadays. The old Viking stove was a lot heavier and solid compared to the new one. But the stove works great and I have no issues with it. When it first came out, they had to come and fix the seal on the front glass. During manufacturing, it was smooshed and not done right. But they fixed it quickly. I like how quickly and evenly the range cooks. But in trying to clean it up, I take the grates on and off and I noticed that the shiny part thatās the top of the stove scratches super easily. My last one didnāt do that so the coating isnt as good as it used to be.
I didnāt get my Viking range until March and a couple of months later, my kitchen light was always on. I realized the door wasnt closing properly, and so I called the person I bought it from and they said that within the first year, I have to go through a a service person. The tech came and had it fixed but I had to wait six weeks. Also, one of the four burners and the middle burner were not working, and the tech must have ordered parts for that too because he came to fix those. Theyre all resolved now and Iām happy that itās working. I love the cooking quality level of the burners. Weāre personally having a struggle ācause I need to get the range installed with a hood to vent it properly because it sets off my fire alarm. The person who installed said that I cannot use the clean setting ācause it would be too hot. I cleaned it out by hand, and then the person who came to fix it said that its not true. Within 20 minutes of using the clean setting, it set off my fire alarm again, even with a cover. Thereās something about using it that it canāt do that. So, itās on my to-do list to look into buying a hood. Otherwise, I love my Viking range.
We love our Viking appliances. We dont regret spending that money. I like how high our refrigerator is. It feels like Im at a grocery store. Theres items at the top shelf. It makes it like I know whats in my refrigerator. And I love the design. The people at Viking were also very professional. But we had some issues with the installation because we went with a general contractor, and they installed some stuff wrong because they dont deal with Viking often. So if I were to do this over again, I would have somebody who knows Viking. The contractor couldnt open the door. We couldnt open the door. We couldnt figure it out. And we had to call Viking and then they sent somebody to open the door for us.
