Ive owned Viking Ranges before in Nashville, Tennessee. However, I was a little bit disappointed in the workmanship put into the equipment. When it was delivered, the guys that installed it did a great job straightening one of the panels. I ended up having to get the wall oven unit replaced or at least theyd put in a new board. The stripping around the door that holds the heat in was loose and had to be pushed back in place. I complained to the store about the quality of the product and they sent me a new unit. The new unit looked better and its working fine so far. I havent had any codes on it. All in all, they dealt with all my issues and responded timely. They sent people back out to try to correct the problem. In that regard, the service has been great.

I’m in construction and I have seen Viking Ranges in the supply houses. The quality of the range I received is good. The team that I dealt with at the Viking dealer was good as well. I knew what I was looking for, but they explained everything. I’m satisfied with my experience with Viking.

Viking Ranges was one of the higher-end ranges in the store where we bought it. Having the same size burners on all four on top was attractive to us and the ability to clean up the top compared to some of the other ones. It didnt take long to install the range but we had problems with it for almost two months. The stove wouldnt light on the first try and it took several tries for it to light. We had a technician in. He had to come back four times before he was finally able to figure out what was wrong with it. It was easy enough to get the reps. They come and do it, and think they had it fixed. Wed call them back and then, it would take them a week to come back but they were good to deal with. Were generally happy. The broiler is amazing in it.

Six years ago we bought a $10,000 Viking professional range. While it may look beautiful, it has never worked properly. The large oven door will not shut tightly. We have had the appliance store where we purchased it come out numerous times and I am regularly told that I am being too rough with the door. Well, the door has never closed properly, and because it doesn’t close properly the oven turns off whenever I set the oven to a temperature above 400 degrees. The appliance company insists that there’s nothing wrong with the hinges, and Viking has done absolutely nothing to help. I am now ready to replace a stove that should’ve lasted my lifetime. If you’re looking for a stove, choose anything but a Viking.

I’ve heard of the Viking brand over the years and when I was redoing my kitchen I found them at Best Buy. I liked a few of the features and I was trying to buy a cheaper brand. But the main item I wanted was more of the double oven which has side doors like a baker’s oven. The oven was very nice however, I was a bit concerned about the cooktop because I can’t seem to find the right cook temperature. When you turn that on, you put it on really high and it heats up fast because it’s induction. I can’t seem to get used to it and I’m having a hard time getting used to the different burners. I either get stuff too hot or it doesn’t get hot enough. For what I spent for the whole kitchen, I’m not overwhelmed with all the quality. The refrigerator and the stove are very nice. The refrigerator doors open and close and keep the food cold. It’s very expensive though. But some of their other appliances are not up to par. The cook-tops should work better. I think it was a brand new design and with this induction, it’s a little tricky to use and it was very difficult to get service. I had to call up and they had to give me a company that would give me service. When I called, I was told that it will be a month and a half before they can come out. I called and tried another company and then I was able to arrange for them to come out a week and a half. Usually, with that kind of money, I should be able to get service in the same week, not two and three weeks for you to use outside service companies. That was a little disappointing. I would have expected better customer service. Furthermore, they offer rebates for buying certain things and I have to beg to get my rebates. With the amount of money I spent and with the company as big as Viking, I shouldn’t have to do that. It took weeks upon weeks and then they said I didn’t have the right serial number. They made me run through hoops and I had to wait and keep calling and finally, I got the money. We’re talking $1,400. All in all, I shouldn’t have a problem with the rebate nor getting serviced. I think the equipment set would be working a little bit better for the amount of the money I spent. I’m a little disappointed in the dishwasher but they told me that there’s not much they can do.

When I bought the house, a Viking range was already here. I had to have a repair done on it and they quickly put me in touch with the service repair person in my area. They seem very professional. The repair person then came out and replaced the door because it’s not shutting correctly. He then told me to use the self-clean feature because that would warp the door and burn off the electricals. The quality of this range is good overall, and the big gas burner in the middle is my favorite.

Weve been using Viking appliances for eight months and so far they have been okay. However, the oven was not working properly, which was a little disappointing given that it was brand new. We had it fixed and the guy who came out was good. I didn’t realize the appliances were registered, so when I needed someone to come out quickly to service the oven and I did the registration online, I needed to wait because the people that needed to accept the registration were gone for the day. It was a little disappointing that there wasn’t an automated process or extended hours because appliances are important and if they don’t work, its hard to wait.

I have a 36 Viking refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. Generally it does what its supposed to do -- keep food cold. But its rather noisy. I can hear it running in the next room. The refrigerator door has an annoying tendency stay open; it has to be closed with a deliberate push or it will swing wide and bang into an adjacent wall. I assumed it would be a simple adjustment to rebalance the door so that it would close with a slight nudge as most refrigerator doors do, but a Viking repairman said there was nothing he could do to correct the problem. The ice maker has also been troublesome. There is a thin metal bar that senses when the ice cube bin is full and shuts the ice maker off. The same bar also acts as a manually operated switch to turn the ice maker back on when more ice cubes are needed. However, the bar is rather flimsy and has a tendency to come loose from its socket, with the result that the ice maker runs continuously churning out buckets of ice cubes with no way to stop it (echoes of The Sorcerers Apprentice) other than by turning off the water supply -- not very well engineered.

Last night our Viking oven decided to self ignite, which resulted in a 911 call (electrical fire). The oven was off, and had we not been in the house, or in bed, then the situation could have been much more serious. I contacted Viking directly (this morning) to report the incident, but I am not entirely convinced that Viking is really that concerned - in fact the response was somewhat casual. They were more concerned about whether the warranty was valid.A colleague of mine had a similar issue a few weeks ago - oven (a Viking) self ignited. Again, this resulted in a 911 call. I got the impression that Viking arent too concerned, however, I would like to use this review as a warning to other Viking users to check your oven - make sure you know how to isolate the gas and power to the appliance - make sure your smoke detectors are working - make sure you have a fire extinguisher and is rated for an electrical fire!

I’ve owned three Viking Ranges before and it’s less expensive than a Wolf. For the dollar, the qualitys okay. I would probably have a different type of seal around the burner, a different oxider paint on the grating on the top, a more commercial look or feel to it as well as the balance of internal oven temperature to change its quality. But I like that it’s got a good clean look from the front appearance and its ability to find different configurations on the top burner versus flat top versus grill.Right now, I’m waiting 16 days for a service from the dealer for fulfillment on it. The hinges on the oven door are not working properly. They’ve passed me off to a secondary person, which is from elite to American which is their repair install group. Also, the first Viking fridge that I bought did not hit temp ever and it took over a week to get back up. I also bought a Viking refrigerator drawer set that as full and brand new box set, and it broke down, and they would not repair it. It was too expensive for the warranty to work, so they wanted to credit me back my money. It was a poor experience with their dealer.

Based on reviews online and their reputation with their consumers and my friends, we decided to get a Viking range. The cost of their range is twice the quality ratio. Im not quite sure what I paid the premium for and the quality of the range is in the middle: not great nor bad. The infrared broiler is my favorite feature of the range, but it does not work that well. I also like the convection and the high-BTU burner. The gas regulator stopped working. It malfunctioned and I couldnt get any gas output from anything including the oven or the burner. I made a service call for it and they took care of it pretty quickly. Overall, Viking range is overpriced with limited options.

The (Microwave/convection) oven was 3 months old when it started making a noise. Viking arranged for a service tech take a look at it. During that service appointment, the oven blew a circuit in our home and quit working. That was 6 months ago and I STILL dont have my oven. After 3 separate appointments and still no resolution, Viking still refuses to replace the oven and insists on yet another service appointment. I would NEVER recommend Viking to anyone! We are beyond disappointment and down right angry.

We got everything Viking here in the house. My in-laws have them and they like them. The double oven’s unbeatable. The quality of the fridge is really good. The tolerances on everything are good. Its solid. I close the door and I feel its not cheap. However, the compressor went out and I was shocked Viking couldnt give me a new compressor for the Viking. I had to get a replacement refrigerator, which I got a little bit of a discount but at the same time, I shouldnt have to buy a brand new Viking after it wasnt that long. Im not too happy and I found out its a Panasonic condenser unit that goes into the Vikings. I like to think weve got years and years of dependability behind it, but when I hear it’s a Panasonic condenser unit, thats not too reassuring.

We replaced our previous Viking Refrigerator, with model VC5B5483. The unit continues to give us problems, just as the previous Viking did. The freezer side continually has frost issues, and 3 times since we purchased, the temperature spikes high and we have to discard hundreds of dollars of frozen items. We have no confidence in this Viking and have Viking in the entire kitchen including: range, range top, compactor, dishwasher. We spent another $10K on this Viking and expect it be fixed or replaced. We could have gone with Sub Zero, but stuck with Viking, as we like the look. Hopefully this can be resolved, quickly. Thank you.

We were looking at all the high end range brands and went into Best Buy and had a look at Viking. We liked what we saw and the price was more economical for the quality that we get compared to the others. We had a very good sales rep who was able go into detail about a Viking range and what to expect from it versus a lower end priced brand. He explained things like how to clean the oven and how high heat with the self-cleaning ovens would typically end up destroying the integrity of the inside enameling. He gave a variety of information about little details that we would not think of.We got the series 5 which is easy to clean and does not deteriorate compared to the standard stove. It also cooks differently as theres an even heat. Plus, it also comes with the pull-out drawer in the oven which I love. My only two gripes is my particular series doesn’t come with a timer where I can time the temperature within the oven or have a timer right there on my stove if I’m baking a cake. We went back a second time looking for the timer and the salesman said it’s been discontinued and was only available to a certain model. The other one is I can’t seem to remove any stains from the golden-looking metal that extrudes from the surface of the stove top where the burner is without scratching it. I’ve used soap and water and I’m afraid to do anything else because I don’t wanna destroy the surface. Other than those, it’s a nice-looking range.

When we were searching for a range, some people were trying to sell me Wolf, Thermador, and Bertazzoni. There were some other brands they were telling me and I didn’t like what I was hearing. They were also telling me not to buy Viking but I stuck with my plan to either buy Wolf or Viking. I looked at Wolf first but then I didn’t like what some people were telling me about Wolf. They have good equipment but the price was extremely high. Then I found a guy who was willing to negotiate the prices so I decided to go with Viking. He did a really great job. He brought out all kinds of brochures that he had and gave it to me for me to look into it. Im gonna go back to his place because we are also interested in buying a refrigerator and we want to go with Viking. My wife and I are really happy with the Viking equipment that we bought. Everything’s working very well and we love that. Viking is the best.

We built a new home in 2011 and cook and bake regularly. Wanted what we thought were the BEST Appliances in the world but to our surprise the refrigerator and the dishwasher are the WORST!!! Our warranty ran out in August 2014. I called Viking to help us with the cost of the computer board in the refrigerator that doesnt work which means my refrigerator and freezer do not stay cold. We got several appliances at the same time, so I had to interact with Viking a couple of times. They’re doing great. If I had the opportunity to compare some side by side over the years, that would be nice, but we didnt, so we spent the money. Although there’s a little insulator flap on the door of our fridge, and it’s got a little rip in it, the fresh drawer that you could set the temperature to is a good feature. All in all, the prices are crazy, but quality-wise, I’m satisfied. Theyre durable goods.

Weve had our Viking refrigerator for eighteen years. In that time weve had three service calls and one recall. Now the unit needs a complete new cooling system costing thousands of dollars. Realizing that the unit was way out of warranty, I called customer service anyway to see if they would a least share part of the repair cost with me. They were adamant that they would not. When I purchased the unit I fully expected that it would outlast the less expensive brands. An independent repairman suggested that it would be worthwhile to forego repair and buy another refrigerator, not a Viking as he considers them as expensive junk. I guess cost does not equal quality.

Viking Refrigerators have a tough look. They dont have the look of a local GE but rather the look of a Sub-Zero Wolf, and I like it. Also, its quality is decent. The refrigerator that I purchased was only available in a French-door, which is a counter depth. I wish that option was available in a one-door as well. The shelves are movable. Its a tough refrigerator on the inside and its not clumsy. The freshness stays in there longer and things don’t spoil as quickly. But it is extremely overpriced and its so heavy compared to the others. The size could also have been a little wider.

Im from Mississippi so its not hard to hear about Viking Ranges here. I wanted to support a homegrown company and I cook a lot and have heard good reviews about it. I also had some friends that had them and enjoyed them. I appreciate the way if I spilled something on the top of the stove or something overflows that has a lid on it, the cleanup on that is not bad. Its pretty easy for me to clean up compared to the last stove combination I had. However, I have not been very pleased. I have a gas top and oven and the gas oven has been very difficult to regulate. It takes forever to heat up, way longer than ever expected for the oven to pre-heat. I have to turn it on a good 30 minutes prior to and sometimes longer. I put my own room thermometer in there because I dont trust the temperature setting. I hate the way the gas comes on and off. Early on, I was having struggles with everything being too dark on the bottom and light on the top. My appliance man said, Youre not waiting long enough to pre-heat. Youre gonna have to wait. Im also frustrated with the oven size. I have a big oven and a little oven side-by-side. The little oven is half an inch to an inch too small. And the big oven, when I try to get something in there like two pans or skillets, they dont fit well either. I cook all the time and I prefer large groups. We have work entertainment that I do all the time. I tried to do two big pork shoulder roasts at the same time. It was in there for hours and difficult to get both of them in there the way the pans were. I wouldve taken an inch out of the big one because its not helping and put the inch in the other one. Theres also the fact that its hard to clean on the inside. Viking makes a big deal about not scratching anything and not using anything harsh on it so Ive been very careful. I have to heat it up just a little bit and then have a wet rag and muscle it to get it off. When I spill something over, grease gets on the aisles of the stove and I havent gotten those off. I cant get those off without having to use something harsher than they recommend. We bought the vent that goes over it and Ive been hugely disappointed in that too. Its really difficult to get the grates out to wash them. I cant talk to anybody if I turn it on since it is obnoxiously loud. I also bought a warming drawer and thats been okay but theres a little spring-like lever that goes on it to make it click into place, and it broke for some reason. The appliance guy said, Well have to order that part. And then he went to order the part and Viking had stopped producing those parts for a while. He worked on getting a part to help with the regulation of the temperature in the oven and called me to come out and put that one in. But I dont think its going to help and I dont see what its going to do. Overall Im dissatisfied and if I could get rid of it, I would. If I hadnt spent so money, I wouldnt be quite as dissatisfied. But when you spend that much money, you expect a lot.

We had built a new home and were interested in top of the line appliances. Wolf and Viking Ranges stood out, but we decided to go with Viking since we got a good price from them and it fits what I was looking for. I got a six-burner range, a grill and two ovens from them. In my kitchen, I have a total of three ovens since we do a lot of the holiday stuff here. It works out beautifully when I’m doing Thanksgiving, Christmas or when I’m trying to cook a big meal. I have enough room for everything. The top is gas and the ovens are electric. I love the fact that I have a griddle there. Everyone can be working on something so it works out well for my family. We’ve had a good experience, up until were trying to get the small oven fixed. We had a problem with it and a chip needed to be replaced. So we had the workman out and were waiting for him to replace it. We had to argue a little to get them to come out to fix what was wrong and that was a bit of a problem. I got upset but my husband managed to calm down and get them to do what they needed to do to repair the oven. But Im still waiting for it to be fixed.

Being a homeowner for over 30 years, I have known Viking Refrigerator being a top brand. I was upgrading my entire kitchen and I wanted the top of the line. The refrigerator I got is great. There was a problem with the unit when it was delivered from a cosmetic perspective but Viking is fixing that. They were right on top of things, and the team at the dealership was great. I like the design of the refrigerator as well. I also purchased a Viking oven and a Viking dishwasher. However, my oven has had issues from the day it was delivered and Viking has not been helpful in getting those issues resolved. In less than 30 days I had two major issues. One is the convection motor and the heat does not work. When you put the oven on 400, it never gets past 300. Viking agreed to repair it and I asked why would they repair a unit that is less than 30 days old that has two major flaws to it? They would not replace it. That is pretty bad. The dishwasher, on the other hand, is great.

We researched Viking and Wolf, and we decided to go with Viking. The sales rep at Best Buy kind of talked us into it when we went and started pricing out and looking at all the different merchandise. Then when we heard that we could get a 5% cashback by purchasing them, that was the determining factor. The look of our Viking range is stunning. We love how it cooks everything evenly. We bought the range and we bought the French wall oven. We like both of them. Weve been trying to clean the wall oven and we are a little confused on that because you put water because it’s a steam clean, and it’s just different than what were used to how an oven cleans. My husband put some water in it and then turns it on to self-cleaning. It just didnt clean as much as we thought. We bought the hood, the range, the wall oven, the microwave and we have been waiting six months for a fridge and freezer that we purchased as well. But I left a message this morning because I have not received any of my rebates when I went online and did all that. I called at 9:00 and I chose mountain time because we live in Colorado, and they said that they were closed, but it was almost nine oclock and I havent heard anything back. Third time leaking & repairman said the motor is shut, the refrigerator coolant is low & thered ice buildup etc... Its a 3500 fix & I have no warranty. What a waste of money and everyones time. We just received a new Viking VDR5486GSS $13,419 dollar 48 Inch 5 Series Stainless Steel Dual Fuel Freestanding Range and we can’t even use it. Right from the factory it has two left the burners that leak gas, a main door oven that’s out of alignment and can’t be realigned as per service tech and a middle support piece that was missing screws and bent in. Called Viking and they are closed until January 2 which has ruined our Christmas and New Years plans. Then the 3rd party service company that does warranty work ** says the part will not be in until February yet the Viking rep I spoke to says all the ten parts are in stock but their company is closed until January 2nd. Customer service was nice and tried to get the parts expedited but failed to tell me that the 3rd party service provider needed to put the order in before 4:30 pm on Thurs Dec 20 because they closed the warehouse on Dec 21st.We just tried to bake biscuits in what is supposed to be the only working part, the oven in plain old bake mode. The top heating element comes on which burned the biscuits. The user manual shows that only the bottom element is supposed to come on. Extremely disappointed in this product and I just want to throw it in the trash as that is where it belongs. Something that costs $13,419 before tax should not have these rudimentary quality control issues. The Viking employees that built this trash should be ashamed of themselves! I can get a better quality product from the Big Box stores for a fraction of the cost.

I’d like to say it looks good, but the front of it already has some rust spots/pitting marks right in front of the burners! I was trying to decide between Wolf or Viking; I work with high-end kitchens a lot in my business, clearly I chose badly. Don’t make the same mistake! This is my first Viking Range. Granted, it’s one of the lower end models, but still not cheap. I was very disappointed with the incredibly loud vibration noise made by the convection oven. Repair/ motor and fan replacement was unsuccessful. Seems it’s the back vent that vibrates? Not the fan. Still can’t use when I have people over because it’s in my “open concept” kitchen. One knob had to be replaced because it stuck and I couldn’t easily turn off the burner. This all in the first month of use... not what I expected from Viking.

My experience with the refrigerator purchased from Viking has been a huge disappointment. Since my purchase I have had over 15 service calls on my frig. Although Ive contacted Viking to express my frustration, the best I get from their service department---- is well nothing! Since my warranty has expired they no longer care that the product is defective. I wanted to send the service records to show that we have had problems day one but they refused. You would think that an 8,000 dollar refrigerator would have been built better---not the case. I will never buy another Viking product!

Appliances were ordered through Ferguson Appliances and I do not have a Viking order number. The number above references the job number for repairs. I was very pleased with the design of my refrigerator and oven. Both required repairs within a few weeks of installation. The oven was overheating and shutting off. The refrigerator cooling drawer wasnt working and the freezer was not maintaining an even temperature. The repair service was efficient but it took quite some time to receive parts. I was very surprised both products began malfunctioning so soon after installation (within 1-2 months).

I had a Viking Range that I bought 25 years ago. I finally used it up and got a new one. I like the way the lights in the new one work a little better and the simmer setting. And I like that the burner pans are sealed. With my previous unit, there was a drip tray underneath that we had to keep cleaning all the time. The improvements are nice. I use my stove like a restaurant does and it has never broken down. Also, mine runs on propane and they lasted over 20 years. I dont know another brand that can do that.

We bought the top-line Viking refrigerator as well as Viking oven and microwave through Best Buy, and Best Buy has been horrible. The communication around the third party that Best Buy uses for installation has all been really poor, and getting my appliances installed was the worst thing ever. First, the built-in $9,000-refrigerator was installed incorrectly. The installers failed to put a kickplate on the bottom of this refrigerator and they probably threw it away. So we had to have someone come out and that took a while. We’re easygoing people and we’re not that tough to deal with. However, I bought that refrigerator in early June and to this day, I dont have the kickplate yet, so that has been frustrating.Best Buy has a customer service troubleshooter that was assigned to us. That person was really nice but has been lousy on follow-up so we called and left messages. When I finally got a hold of Best Buy’s case manager, he said that Best Buy was told that the manufacturer did not have the kickplate in stock. So I told them that I was gonna call Viking, which I should have done early on. When I called, I spoke with their customer service person who was great and a really nice lady too. I asked her about the kickplate that is missing and she said they had them in stock, which was what I anticipated the whole time. We havent heard anything back yet, but a company is supposed to call us. Still, Viking is a premium brand and they have been responsive to us and the experience with them has been great.

I got a whole kitchen package two years ago. Ive had some things break on them but every time Ive called, Ive had great customer service under the warranty in getting items replaced. So, its never been the issue. My husband and I put houses for a living and we decided to put Viking in one of our high end properties that we do. When we went to the International Builders Show, we stumbled upon the owner who was speaking at the first day to a group of people and were intrigued by his speech. So, we decided to solicit the package about trying to improve the quality of the product. Viking is comparable to Wolf but Wolf is still slightly ahead as far as quality. I have a 60-inch range, refrigerator, dishwasher and hood and theyre all Viking. I like the griddle in the range but I hate the indoor barbecue. I wish I had the double griddle. If I could switch it out, I would. So, that was my huge mistake but its fine. I just dont use it because its too much of a mess.

We wanted an all-gas oven and Viking had it. We also wanted self-cleaning, and the one we got came available with white on the front, which we wanted. The dealer was great. However, on the back of the range, we bought a separate piece for the air to come up from the oven, and it blows the burners when the oven is on and causes the burners not to be as efficient. That’s a big flaw. Because that air is blowing the burners and the flame is flickering, it takes forever to boil something. I wouldn’t recommend it because of that. If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t get it.

The purchase part was easy. But we went through three different units before we got the right one. The first one was defective. Theres a piece called a bullnose, thats where the knobs are on the front, and it wasnt seated properly on the range, and the door was crooked. The whole thing was shifted to one side. It was minor, but at that price point, it needs to be nearly perfect. And that took nine months to get. The second one came two and a half months later and it was also defective. It had some quality problems on it. It showed up, we pulled it out of the box, and the installer took it back. The third one came two months after that and thats the one we have and its fine. Its an electric oven. The temperature is off by 25 degrees. So, we bought our own thermometer that we keep installed inside of it so that we get a bit more accurate readout. Other than that, everything else has been great. It looks good. It works well.

We have had Viking for the past 12 years. I chose to buy Viking because I love to cook and I love the way you can cook and the refrigeration and the ovens work. This refrigeration we have has improved a lot from the one that we had before. My favorite thing about it is that the fruits last a little bit longer than a regular refrigerator and that the door works better because it’s make out of solid material. But I’ve been having a lot of trouble taking the stickers out of the inside of the refrigerator. I had tried everything and I still have two and a half stickers that I haven’t been able to take away. Also, its a little expensive but I will highly recommend Viking.

When we have other visitors that come in, they utilize our kitchen, so I want the best stuff. We have not had the full experience with our Viking range, but so far the stove top is awesome. I also used the broiler for some great T-bone steaks. I like that it’s so spacious and easy to clean. I had one bad experience with their team at the dealer, but that was in-house and the general manager extended a conversation with us and took care of that. The only thing I wish I would’ve gotten was the wheels, but that would’ve made it a little different configuration. Other than that, it’s perfect.

When we bought the house, it was a new construction. Apple Homes has been building since the Truman administration and we went with the quality and reputation of the builder. Ive had a number of different houses and appliances like Wolf, Thermador, Sub-Zero and LG. The appliances I was really satisfied with was Wolf but Ive always wanted Viking. Then this house had Viking and one of the considerations when we bought it was having the appliances we liked. We had used the Viking range for almost a year and then it freaked everybody out during a dinner party, because as my girlfriend opened it up, the door literally came off in her hand and when she let down, it hit the floor pretty hard. The range is a Professional and it has a heavy door. It was lucky it didnt land on her foot as the door couldve broken it. There was only one service tech in this area and that’s who came out and put the door on. He also said that when it was installed, it may not have had the door adjusted right because it was bent and it fell out. From what Apple Homes told me, the installer was Viking-approved because they got it from whoever could sell Viking. Yet they did it incorrectly so its like damned if you do and youre damned if you dont.Plus, weve had problems with the Viking refrigerator too. The ice machine goes everywhere when we use it and it doesnt click off. Its just poor design. I even thought it was a Professional but the service person told us it was actually another manufacturer that did that particular model for Viking. It wasnt really a Viking. Thats very misleading and I wasnt aware of that. The service cost us $100 because when the service person came out, they said he couldnt find our warranty online and we couldnt find copies either. We had sent all the registration and we dated it from when we first moved in. So we got it again from the builder and refilled it out. However, the service guy did say that Viking might reimburse the $100 service call fee. This happened just right after our first year and Im not sure but I think appliances got more than a one-year warranty. I hope so, for something that expensive. Hopefully it wont have any other issues because we like the way it cooks. We loved the stove and we wouldve recommended it until the door fell off. When that happened, we hated it.

My brother bought a Viking range. His wife is a really great cook and they loved the range. We had a range that worked off one of those panels and it broke down so we had to replace it twice. We wanted to get something that was totally manual and looked sturdy. the Viking range looked like the real thing. And it was a special with the dishwasher. We needed one of those so it all kind of worked out together. The qualitys great and its a real pleasure. I like the grill on top and you can slide everything across. However, I would never go back to the Viking dealer, P.C. Richards, again. Their guys came and I made the mistake of letting them install the unit instead of calling the plumber. They wound up cutting the heat shield at the back of the stove and they had to replace it. It was two weeks of back and forth and it wasn’t fun. That aside, we talked to Viking Ranges and they gave us a list of dealers since we wanted to get their runners. Our kitchen countertop is Butcher Block and the stove is sitting in the middle of the Butcher Block. I like the same stainless steel edging that I could put on the Butcher Block that would be alongside the side of the stove, like an angle iron. It would be attached between the countertop and the stove.

The house that my wife and I bought in 2016 has Viking appliances in the kitchen. Were disappointed that though the Viking Refrigerator that we had to get fit in the space for the one that we had without having to redo cabinets, it no longer has a water dispenser in the door. That was a big letdown. We also had to replace the door seal on a dishwasher and Viking had stopped making replacement parts for it. We ended up replacing the entire dishwasher. I was so happy when we bought our beautiful (blue!) range and fridge in 2011 for our weekend cottage, which is only important because they did not even have daily use. Within the first 2 years the fridge started leaking, the ice maker broke numerous times, the drawers cracked (replacements were hard to find and ridiculously expensive) and now the temperature cannot be adjusted and everything in the fridge freezes. The range is no better. The temperature is uneven, one knob came off, the doors (both) came off their hinges. Now only the small oven closes properly and I have to lean against the large door to get an accurate amount of heat. I’ve spent hours trying to find somebody to fix these two items. When I did, they charged a fortune and the repair lasted no longer than a few weeks. Since about a year I have given up and am living with the expensive mistake I made 9 years ago. I’ve tried contacting Viking directly but they were no help either. I will never buy a Viking again.

The builder selection for our new house was a Viking Model RVDR3301 Range. The range burners are very difficult to control and it is easy to overheat what you are cooking. The simmer functionality is very non-linear and if you’re not careful the burner will go out. Cleaning the range top requires dismantling the burners, which have some delicate parts. The oven temperature takes forever to preheat and the temperature varies quite a bit. Initially it would varied much as 50 degrees at 300 and the average temperature was off by 25 degrees. Even after two adjustments to correct the offset it still makes cooking delicate things like a cake difficult and everything seems to take longer to cook. The window in the oven door fogs up if you are cooking anything moist making it difficult to see what’s going on in the oven. And the chrome plating came off the oven racks and they needed to be replaced under warranty.

What a freaking mess it makes. The dishwasher is the worst ever made. It may or may not turn off. The repairman says to open it and let it dry out. Ok, but that doesnt work either. In 2007, when we had our hood installed, we thought the contractor installed it wrong because we could not get the waffle plates out to clean. A service technician was ready willing and able to come and take the whole thing apart, but thank God I also called another technician who came first and said that the motor was installed correctly but that there was something wrong with the design and the filters were not able to come out. I called Viking and they sent one of their technicians. This guy sat on the stove and told me to look carefully. He said, You have to punch in this side while pulling down and shake it around a lot.Needless to say, that idiot was out of my home in a flash. I had not yet paid for all of our appliances with the retailer: Viking 6-burner stove, two Bosch dishwashers, one Subzero fridge, one Subzero freezer, etc. A big bill. Eventually, a Viking big shot came to our home and redesigned pieces so that the filters could drop out easily. Customer service on the phone had asked me why I needed to take the filters out so often. Hello? I cook. Hate Viking. Today, June 5, 2013, the hood which has been turning on its own for a month with minimum heat blew. Wish me luck. Have to make one of many calls. I am a advocate of buying American-made every chance I get. So, I was excited that our new place was equipped with all Viking appliances. That being said, I have been very disappointed with all of our Viking appliances, and wish we had something else. As we speak, our dishwasher is making an obnoxious beeping sound. It will not stop. It has been going on for an entire day. I have tried disconnecting, shutting of the main power switch--everything, but to no avail. Dishes are piling up and I am just angry at this stupid machine. What is the point of this stupid design flaw? What is the beep telling me and why cant I shut the stupid thing off. This is just one of my many complaints about Viking. The oven hood/exhaust is insufficient. The burners do not always ignite and when they do the click of the igniter will not stop. The heat distributes unevenly. The oven often just shuts off and ruins whatever I am baking. It will reach 400 degrees and then I come back and my bread is a gooey gob because the oven is cold. The refrigerator/freezer is very poorly designed and the plastic shelves and drawers break very easily. The freezer has basket shelves--it is a bottom freezer drawer under the fridge. So, you put stuff in and the stuff ends up slipping through. The refrigerator water dispenser does not have a light to indicate when the filter needs to be replaced. The dispenser doesnt work if you put the fridge onto the lowest temp available in the model. And, the company has a poor environmental rating because they use a lot of energy--a lot more than Sub-Zero or Bosch, and the filters are not recyclable. With our Bosch, we could send the filters back to the company for recycling. So I would never buy another Viking product. I have used Thermador ranges as a personal chef in other peoples home and they are far superior. I have also envied their Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances. In our other home we had Swedish (Aksa) washer/dryer and Bosch appliances. I miss them. A lot.

Viking is really there when you’re looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. They showed me the Viking range and were not too technical about it. But when I saw the Viking, I said Wow. Its like a restaurant style range and I loved the way it looked as well as the capacity inside. So, I got it. Its also marked up at a reasonable price and so far, I had a good experience using it at home. I love how it heats up everything so fast and the knobs are good to work with. But I get confused once I use the conventional or the bake. I dont know what the difference is or how it works. Im not chef type person and Ive been Googling that to try to figure out whats the difference between that and the regular bake. The grills are heavy duty, too, which is good. We got to be careful when we take them off and clean them so we dont hit the actual stove with them. My wife cleans them daily and she scratched the front on top of it on the shiny part. It was stainless steel and she said it was heavy so she dropped it.

My sister has a Viking range and Ive cooked on it. For the quality that I know of a Viking, I got myself one, too. I went to PC Richard and they were great to the point where I also got a Viking microwave and a wine fridge. I love pretty much everything about my range including its look and the evenness of the burners. Its easy to dictate the temperature. The oven is also easy to use. Everything so far is good.

OMG do not purchase under any circumstance unless you want to overpay for a dish drying rack. Ive had it 2 years and it has gone down more than 8 times and it take an eternity to get repaired. They use breakable plastic in all stress points, the plastic latch keeps breaking, over and over and over again again again. Each time it breaks its a month of downtime and I hate doing dishes by hand. Been without a working dishwasher for over 4 months in last 2 years. Nightmare. It is a good drying rack after you have hand washed everything. Always breaks during major holidays. Plastic plastic plastic makes this a super unreliable low quality product. Do not buy.

I thought Viking has very good appliances. I’m learning more and more, theyre really not on top of the chart of being the best of the best. I dont like anything that I got from Viking. The fridge, I like the ice maker on the door more than the inside of the freezer ‘cause every time I open up the freezer, it always falls down. I also don’t like the stove. Its my fault for not spending 2,000 more on the self-cleaning oven. But I like the drawer microwave. That’s working well. My dishwasher is working well too.

I liked the way the Viking range looked. I bought one from Pacific Sales and the lady there that I worked with was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. I went back several times to look before I actually made a decision because I was also looking at Wolf and one other brand. Still, she was very helpful and not high pressure. I like my Viking range very well. Its very sturdy and I like the way the range top works. The oven bakes and roasts very evenly, too. The stove that I had was terrible and compared to that, I love the burners of my Viking range. They boil water for pasta real quickly and I can simmer things nicely. I recommend it to anybody whos looking for a new stove.

I bought a new home and theres a Viking Range in it. It took a while for me to get used to the idea of having a convection oven because I’ve never had that before but I like it a lot. It seems to be really good quality. But I’m not exactly enjoying the cleaning process of the surface on the top where the burners are. It’s got the grills under every burner and it’s not fun to clean all that if there are spills or things on top of the cooking surface. There are way too many little parts to clean and I was coming off of just a solid surface cooktop which was pretty easy to maintain. Other than that, I’m enjoying the gas. I like the fact that the burners light instantly and get hot faster than an electric stove. Also, when I had a service guy out from Viking for the door of my brand-new dishwasher that had a broken latch on the side, he played around with the oven, too. When it was running, the convection stops and starts, and stops and starts. I asked him if that was normal and he said yes. But he still made sure it was working right and tinkered with it a little bit.

I purchased a Professional Series Viking Range this past summer. Used it very little until the holidays came and day before Thanksgiving, it pooped out. So long story short, they got it working for a few days then 10 days before Christmas and all the house guests, the oven stops again. Parts ordered over 10 days now and no one seems to know where they are. The people who are contracted to service the oven are most definitely not the problem, it is Viking. This company has bar none the absolutely worst customer service I have ever encountered. They do not return calls, they put you on hold for literally hours. No one seems to know anything about anything. Even their supervisors are bad. All you can do is leave a message. It is a true shame that a company that is representative of how things are done in the United States of America has screwed it up so badly. They are apathetic. Too bad because not every American company is this bad. I have had a much better customer service experience with my foreign made TV. I would recommend that just because you pay top dollar does not guarantee you will get great service. They are the worst.

When I decided to redo my kitchen, I decided to go with Viking Refrigerator
When I decided to redo my kitchen, I decided to go with Viking Refrigerators to try it out. I also bought Viking range, French door oven, dishwasher. I had the fridge installed and then I had a new cabinet put in and being a first time Viking Refrigerators owner I was very disappointed when the installers pulled it away from the wall and it bent the feet underneath. We did not know it needed to be lowered. Even the contractors who do kitchens all the time did not know that it had to be lowered first.I haven’t used my refrigerator in a month. I got a brand new kitchen but I can’t use the fridge because I’m trying to determine how to get this thing fixed. I called Viking Refrigerators, they referred me to a place called High End Appliances. I called them, they came out, looked at it, and when they gave me the estimate. They were saying it was going to cost like $1,500 to fix it and the Viking Refrigerator was $10,000. I was going to call Viking Refrigerators and share with them the situation in detail. Supposedly the issue was not a manufactures defect. I don’t understand why it can’t be a part of that warranty but as far as the Viking Refrigerators repair person says through High End Appliances, it could not be covered unto warranty. I think that the customer needs to know more specifically that it if a heavy duty item ever needs to be removed it will have to be lowered, because I paid for installation through BestBuy. They put it in and they knew that I was going to get my kitchen remodeled but who was going to tell me to make sure to lower it when I move it.For a major appliance like that that costs $10,000 I would expect that there should be something in writing if this item ever needs to be removed. I think there needs to be something very bold and written so that this won’t happen to someone else again. I don’t know if that should be something that was made apparent to Viking Refrigerators owners not to move this 48 inch cabinet type fridge unless you first have it professionally lowered. It’s not normal so it was a little frustrating.

I really love it but the door doesn’t quite close. I needed to call and figure out how to fix that, but COVID screwed up everything. Other than that, it bakes well and the burners work well. I saw that the refrigerator was much better because in the beginning, I was close to buying Sub-Zero. But because all of my appliances were Viking, I didnt want to make a mix. That’s why I bought my own refrigerator. But by the day I bought it, it started to have many problems. The engine turned off by itself. It worked once in a while.Viking fixed it three times. When they were fixing the last time, the tech broke the main doors arm so he couldn’t close the refrigerator. I got more upset about it. He then made the refrigerator open and said, “You have to turn it off, and you have to wait like three or four days for us to have the part for me to be able to fix it.” I said, “Are you gonna leave me without a refrigerator, without a freezer? I mean, it wasn’t my fault. I mean, you are fixing something new, and now, you are telling me I have to wait four days without a refrigerator because you broke the arm?” And the fourth time, they again wanted fix it. I bought something new. I dont want it to be fixed all the time. So, I brought it to the place that I bought it, they spoke to me and they changed the whole refrigerator.Hopefully, I will buy the same Viking set because all appliances on my kitchen are Viking. It came with the house. But the ones they have in the house are the worst ones that Viking has. The cooking appliance turns on by itself too. It has the same problem. Almost all the people who have the same system said all of it came like that. So, if I want something better, I have to change the model and get something more expensive or higher quality. Also, I want something bigger because the one that I have is really small.

Purchased top of the line Viking fridge for 10K 3 years ago and about 9 months after purchase the crisper drawers were collapsing down onto the bottom shelf of the refrigerator making about half the fridge unusable. Viking sent out their service company and changed the middle shelf which the crisper drawers hang from and changed the slider brackets. Worked fine for about 3-4 months and then the same thing happened again. Viking came out and changed the parts again with exactly the same type of parts. Worked fine for about 4-5 months and then the drawers started collapsing down again when you would open a drawer. Well this went on for 3 more additional services and I think at about the 3rd or fourth service Viking said the fridge was out of warranty! LOL!I informed them that you cant replace defective parts with the same exact defective parts until the warranty runs out and then say the fridge is out of warranty. So they sent a repair company back out who charged me $149.00 to look at the crisper drawers laying at the bottom of the fridge and said yep theyre broke and left. Then they sent a different service company out and they changed the parts again and again it failed after several months. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and I rigged a plastic spacer and thick brass washer behind the middle shelf to kind of wedge the crisper drawers in place. That has held up but was only suppose to be a temporary fix until Viking came up with a permanent solution. Kim from Middlebery that owns the Viking brand said they are working on it, that was back in February and now its radio silence 3 months later. Kim asked me at that time do I want them to come out and fix the shelf till the engineers come up with a solution. I said no my Rig is working so far and no sense having Viking come out and waste both our time and money installing more defective parts. Well no good deed goes unpunished cause it looks like Im stuck with my fancy refrigerator being rigged up so that its functional. And oh by the way the crisper drawers are now all cracked and the sliders broken from falling down so many times. This is frustrating, embarrassing and not right, to spend ten thousand dollars on whats suppose to be a superior brand and have it fall apart and get no company support! Our KitchenAid fridge lasted 20 years and we could have bought the exact replacement for 2 k less! But we wanted to upgrade but instead got a tremendous downgrade. If you want a built in stick with Sub Zero. Thats why my son in law Vince The Builder only uses Sub Zero in his multi multi million dollar homes he builds. He will soon be doing a video of my fridge for his 200K instagram followers to show his clients why he wont use Viking appliances. I hope this saves the next person from going thru the same ordeal as me.

In 2012 we replaced a 14 year-old JennAir oven and microwave, which were old but working fine, with what we thought were upgraded Pro Viking products. We are sorely disappointed with both but I will focus on the microwave for now. VMOS201SS with trim kit came to over $1000 with taxes and looked lovely. However, the control pad is impossible to clean and the microwave oven, after 4 years of moderate use for reheating only, works intermittently. Sometimes it works... sometimes it is dead. Apparently there is a switch in the door that is malfunctioning. Repair company that services Viking charged $160 to look at it and ordered a new part from Sharp, who manufactured this piece of junk. That was in early January. I am writing this in mid March with no part in sight. Repair company is not at fault. Viking is stalling sending the part. It is not worth replacing the part at this point so I will reuse the trim kit and order from a different manufacturer. Frigidaire FGMO205KF looks like it will fit and has good reviews. I will never buy another Viking product.

We bought it at Best Buy and had a helpful sales clerk there. We happen to hit a sale which also helped out. They provided delivery service and that was seamless. We bought a Viking range, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. We redid our entire kitchen, and we bought all-Viking appliances based on reputation. The stove has been great. The induction cooktop is fabulous but Im not real convinced about convection oven yet. I don’t see the advantage of that being faster than normal cooking. But that could be that it’s relatively new to us, and we don’t know exactly how to use it yet. But I think we’re gonna be very happy with it. We actually have an electric stove because we don’t have gas in our area. But to see that you can boil water so quickly, the cooking has been incredible on the oven-top. The customer service has been good as well. We waited a long time for a range. The people that we bought the appliances from didn’t know why it was in such a delay. So I just called Viking myself and the woman I spoke to was incredibly nice and told me that the issue was they were waiting for parts from Germany. We waited like a month for it. But that was nobody’s fault. It’s just the way it was. The people that we bought it from, which was at Pacific Sales in Best Buy, have been pretty good. But the guy who installed our refrigerator worried me a little bit because he never heard of Viking. He never had installed Viking and he didn’t do it right. But the people that came out the second time were in and out of my house within 5 minutes because it was a very, very simple fix. The guy who did my dishwasher, oven, and microwave went to Viking training school, so he was very knowledgeable.

However, I found that Viking appliances as a whole are very simplistic. Its great in a refrigerator, but not so much in some of the other appliances. I had Jenn-Air previously and their appliances just had more features. But for refrigeration, it just needs to keep cool things cool and frozen things frozen. The refrigerator is the Viking appliance that we have that I like the best. It’s nice-looking and seems to be doing what it’s supposed to do. It also has a good amount of space. The lighting is nice. Im very happy with Viking products. I consider them very good and very well-built. Its very reliable. I had the previous Viking range for eight years and there were no problems at all. Its a very good brand thats why I wanted to have it. However, the process of this particular case of me getting this range on a deal (I found a great deal of a new unpacked range for almost half the price) and the things that followed werent great. I got the range, brought it home, installed it then there were some problems which I reported in my communication with the company. It was quite lengthy to get the proper technician to come and look at it. Theres a whole process that I experienced talking to the company and the company has another company hired for public relations. I got an email from that second company that the issues were being looked at. Then the same second company recommended the local tech but I wasnt happy with the tech that worked initially. The local company that was hired to look at the things that are not functioning reported something that wasnt complete. So, I had to recall the technician and another technician came. They ordered the parts that were malfunctioning and they installed it. The second tech finally solved it but it was about two months of smelling gas and its been quite stressful. The process could be something more straightforward like you talk to the company and get a response from the company. There are no middlemen and no broken chain of relaying the problems that are reported.

We’ve previously lived in houses and in rentals that had Viking in them and I know that it’s a good brand. And when we were looking at the appliances, there was a couple that fitted in our budget and we also looked at the style of the oven. We looked at Wolf and Sub-Zero, and Viking, just a combination of the style, price, and functionality, won out over those. We bought a Viking refrigerator and a range from an online company out of New Jersey. It came from the factory and it looked like it had been packed up with a dent in the door. It was underneath all the packaging and theres no kind of dents in the packaging. It was difficult to figure out how to get that repaired on someone else’s dime because it’s not our fault. The dealer was more problematic than Viking. It was like sending emails to a blank wall. I felt like they could’ve said that this was not their issue and they’re sorry for sending it to us. They were just searching to figure out who I needed to contact. After four emails and a handful of phone calls they told me to call Viking. And then Viking sorted it out as I could expect. They took care of it in a good fashion and took complete charge of its cost. Viking had someone came out and replaced the door. Then, something also happened when they installed the range. Some of the workers tried to move the range around and they pulled off the door of our oven and that had nothing to do with Viking. But we were able to get that sorted out on the same day. It’s good for it to all happen at once versus a couple of times. The quality of the range is good and it seemed perfectly functional, especially after the door was fixed. It works when it needs to work.

We like the quality of Viking. They had a wall oven, the French door design, and both my husband and I fell in love with it. We've had our Viking installed in November of last year and we have had several issues, but it they are all being resolved. The wall oven had a heating issue where it took too long to heat up. There was a panel that just got replaced this week, and that is not working. And then on the range, the glass in the oven door slid around a little bit. It took a while to get this issue resolved, but we have just found out they're gonna replace the entire range.
