Viking Distancia Modelo RVEWD330SQ
I used Viking previously since they had a good name before and I went with them again. But the quality of the fridge that I purchased from them this time is very bad. It breaks down a lot and the temperature doesnāt work properly in any manner. Also, the space is not very friendly and its so small inside, even though its a big fridge. I called Viking and the reps asked me to register my model, and if I had an issue theyd send a service company to fix the fridge. But my refrigerator only has one-year warranty, so thatās really bad because it breaks down so much.
Iāve known about Viking Ranges for a long time and I like the brand. When I bought my range, the representatives were terrific and very helpful. They were also prompt with the delivery, so I was very happy. The range I have is exceptional. I like everything about it including its appearance and the way it cooks.
My 36 gas range is 10 years old and the oven has never operated properly. I was told that the gas smell was because our propane was running low. The oven takes forever to come to temp. Now the oven is shot and Viking will not stand behind their product. The gas company came to my house last week and I discovered that two of the ignitors do not work. The heat shield is warped and split on the one side because that ignitor was working so hard on that side. The porcelain is chipped at the back of the oven. There are small holes in the burners, hence the gas leak. And if that is not enough, the springs on the door are not working. I sent pictures to Viking and their reply was, Sorry but here is the name of the repair company in my area (three hours away) and they can fix these problems as long as I pay in advance of their service call. Thank you, Viking!
I liked Vikings reputation for quality, specifically the range. I live in an all-electric home and adding gas wouldāve been pricey. I got a high-quality range still within the parameters of my house but purchasing with the Viking dealer was the one bit of a dark spot. Appliances Connection wasnt very good at communicating the timeline for the reception and the arrangement for shipping was not great either. The communication on that was poor. When they finally scheduled the delivery, they told me when it was going to occur and I waited two hours after the fact. I was waiting at our work site since I donāt live where I was renovating. I finally called them to see what was going on. They said that the shipment was delayed and that they werenāt going to deliver it that night. It was 10 p.m. after they told me I had to wait, so that was frustrating. Nonetheless, the range looks incredible and Iām very anxious to test it out in cooking. Also, we liked the color options. It was silly, but it was really nice. We picked the graphite gray and itās perfect. Although the dealer and the delivery were a little frustrating, everyone was professional when they delivered and they did a really nice job of getting it into the house quickly and safely. They had the tools to do it well.
We had a Garland in a big farmhouse 45 years ago, then we moved to Viking about 30 years ago. Its an upgrade cause Viking has the burners. This cant leak all the crud down around the burners, so this is much better. However, purchasing it was terrible. We were getting ready to do our renovation, and my husband had to spend quite a bit of time tracking things down. Our stove has just been installed and we love it. Its our second one and its beautiful. Its a good solid stove.
My wife and I have always wanted a professional level range. We considered Viking to be the best, especially for $5,000. Now were totally disillusioned!! First our dealer tried to fix the problems. When they couldnt, they turned us over to Viking and wouldnt come work on the range any more. Viking through their rep in Milwaukee visited us a couple of times and then stopped responding. The igniters have been replaced at least four times. One or more of them continues to fire for some seconds or minutes when turning on any burner. If the oven doesnt light on the first ignite youd better be right there to turn off the oven because on the second ignite the oven will blow up! Viking doesnt care. How they keep their reputation after reading all of the customer comments is beyond me. Id give them zero stars if it were possible. All we can say at this point is----STAY AWAY FROM VIKING!!!!!!
The range came with our house and the quality is not very good. It is not self-cleaning, which I dont like. It cooks food. But they can upgrade the design. Itās a large oven but its insufficient to put two standard sized cookie trays side by side. So you get this bigger oven but theres no benefit of the oven, only the benefit of the extra burners on top. We had to get an extra oven. Maybe their top-of-the-line models are better. This is an entry level model but its still a $5,000 oven. Its three years old and its already had two service calls. The warranty is only two years. The oven wouldnt light and the burners on top are sporadic in their lighting. Ive had cheaper ovens that are way better. Iād never buy another Viking. The service people were great to a degree. They were responsive. They came out and they charged me for the replacement pieces. They were gonna look into whether they could get a courtesy warranty on another part, but they never followed up. The people at Viking themselves who I contacted because there was a recall on some of these ovens confirmed my recall was not there. Even though I found some other parts that were not adjusted correctly at the factory and I had to pay to have the service guy readjust them, they said, āThats too bad. Itās out of warranty.ā
Our experience with the Viking dealer was touch-and-go. There was a promotion and the package deal for the appliances was better than their competitors. We committed to buying the appliances and knowing that we were doing a big kitchen remodel, we gave the best timeframe we could, but we missed the timeframe. There was a lot of patient pushbacks from the team at the dealer and when it finally came time for delivery, we ended up with a problem with one of the appliances. I had to call up to the home office of the appliance dealer and then they had to call Viking to get it resolved. It took about eight weeks for the defective dishwasher to finally be replaced which was disappointing. So far, the range seems okay and were happy with it. We like the size of it, the amount of heat that it generates, and how fast it cooks. The quality of the cooking surface is the most important thing so far. All the major stuff works and it cooks, but weve had to have a couple of minor repairs done to it within the first month.
We went to Best Buy and Viking Refrigerators was there. We have Sub-Zero and Vikings comparable. We bought Viking for our Florida property. There were little issues buying that from Virginia and getting it delivered in Florida, but it all worked out. The refrigerator is fine. It broke once but they were good to fix it. Its such a nice fridge and it keeps things longer. We like it. All the high-end appliance had been great. Theyāre all expensive but theyre all really good. We knew what we were getting.
I was looking at the features, design, haptic feedback, meaning how things slide, the soft close of the drawers, and layout. One of the things that I didnt consider was Viking because Viking and Thermador are usually premium, luxury, and mansion-type brands, until seeing at that price point-wise. They make for the regular persons reasonably-priced refrigerators. We didnt need a water dispenser in the front or ice sensor and they were one of the few manufacturers that didnt have that. I just dont like the gasket sealant. Im getting some frost where the gasket is peeling off the door. I havent had the opportunity to call Viking yet to ask them if they can fix it.
A friend of mine in North Carolina had a small Viking in her kitchen and I liked the way that Viking Ranges look and I wanted something that was a step above whats in a regular big-box store. However, it rattles so I had Midwest Appliance Repair come out for it. It was still under warranty so they had the fan fixed but I never called them back for them to fix it again, so now its out of warranty and having to put a new fan in there would cost around $300. Also, it wasnt cooking evenly on the front right burner. So when Midwest was out here, they told me that there were two missing silicon bumpers that were supposed to be on the grates to hold it way up from the flames to the proper height. I asked them to order me a whole set for all three grates so I can replace them if I lose one, but the guy called me back and told me that it was $28 a piece so I will just go down and find something else at Lowes that will do the trick. The parts are pricey especially given how much the cost of the range was. Other than that, my friends call it diamond mill because its fancy and Im happy with it. I love the quality in terms of the weight of the piece and the way it cooks that food. I also love that roll-out rack on ball bearings and the freezer doesnt dry things out and theres never a freezer burn. Overall, its the kind of stove that if I ever move, it will go with me.
The Viking Range in our house has been in it longer than we have and weve been here for maybe four years but its pretty good. I got it serviced last Friday to make sure all the parts are working in order and for the most part, everything is working fairly well. I like the griddle part of the range because its fairly easy to use and clean. The whole range is easy to clean because everything pops off fairly easy. Im not a neat freak but its nice to be able to get all the food out of the crevices. Also, cooking on it is fairly easy. But, I cant get the temperature low enough. The low feature is too hot and when I simmer, I cant seem to get close enough to it without igniting the pilot light again. For example, usually with rice, you put on a low simmer and the low setting is just still too hot for it. Also, I dont know if this would interfere with the flame but we have a gas stove and an overhead exhaust and it would be nice to have the exhaust where the oven outtake is. Because instead of having an exhaust over the food, it would just be more on the same plane as the food. Its also nice to not have the fan on because its so loud when Im cooking and I feel like Im in a wind tunnel. But other than those, the functionality of the stove is quite useful. The dual oven is also pretty nice but its cavity cant fit a turkey. You have the three-inch roasting pin, the elevation to that and then you have the bird which has a big breadth to it so Im not able to put it in the oven. But, for the most part, its pretty nice with the conduction and all those features. Then, we have an industrial professional grade, so its raised off the floor a good three inches. You could use that to gain more cavity space. In addition, we have a little warming oven to the side and the width of that is too narrow but the height on it is perfect. I would like it a little bit wider for most dishes and sheet pans.I think its very reliable and very consistent. However, my husband said that if he had his wishes, he wouldnt buy a Viking range again, but he doesnt cook and he doesnt get into the kitchen at all. I think its because its such a big piece of equipment but the actual components of it are very small. Wolf is what he really liked and the dial controls are a lot more flexible based on what youre cooking and the cavity is much bigger. But I would say some positives with Viking is that the cooktop space of the range is very open. I have a lot of big pans but Im able to put two big pans side-by-side without having problems. Also, I can put a small pan on top and not feel like its being swallowed up by the burner.
I like my Viking refrigerator. So far, the quality is good. We bought ours at Best Buy. They did a nice job, came in, and set it unit up.
Our Viking range has been pretty good and I like the griddle top, but weve had three times now where I donāt know if something is wrong with the board or the plug. It just stops working and we unplug it, put it in a different plug, and it still wont work. We had someone working on the washer and he was here three weeks ago. He said he was going to look into the range, but I havenāt heard back from him so I need to call them.
We had a GE before and it was horrible. We were looking at getting something else to replace it. My daughterās a chef and she works with a Viking type of oven at her work. Sheās the one that told us about Viking Ranges. Were very happy with Viking Ranges. We liked the look of the range. It was a very good one so we went with it. The person from Viking Ranges was very savvy. He knew exactly what he was talking about and he even compared the Viking to the Wolf and said they were very similar. Viking is a fantastic range. It cooks very evenly as opposed to the GE we had before. Also, my wife loves to bake with it. I would recommend Viking Ranges to everyone. I would tell them that it is worth the price you pay.
Weāve had a Viking Range in our prior house for 12-15 years now, and I like that we could get their range with the eight burners but not have the griddle. I love their burners. However, the grates in the top plates on top of the burners are hard to keep clean. But besides that, I like it.
My wife was looking at different brands and she was a fan. Thats why we started looking for Viking. The quality is impressive. We bought more than just the refrigerator. We bought a suite. However, the ice machine doesnt seem like its of a high quality. Its noisy and clunky. Everything else though seems to be quite good. It has a nice interior and has a lot of space in it.
Our 36 wide Professional 36 model Viking Range wouldnt hold the correct temperature and required six (yes 6) visits by the repairman to correct the problem. One might suspect that the repairman didnt know what they were doing, but its actually quite the contrary. They started the process by trying to eliminate the most commonly occurring problem(s) first, then moved on to the more complex issues. Bottom line, during the course of the multiple visits, the repairman said that it takes them an average of 4 to 6 visits to get Viking products working properly!!! (If I produced such an inferior product at my company Id have been out of business by now.) One big problem that still needs to be addressed is the obnoxiously noisy fan that Viking provided, to keep the oven cool enough to not melt the mother (control) board. Nothing like a roaring oven fan in the background when youre trying to have a quiet dinner conversation, eh? Personally, Id never buy OR recommend Viking to anyone, as the quality of their product is way beyond mediocre. Oh, almost forgot to talk about the problem were having with our Viking double door refrigerator, where when you close one door, the other pops open!!! Nothing like having quality (and pretty darn expensive) products in the kitchen to come home to every day, eh?
We had dinner with my sister and brother-in-law who have a Viking range. I got to cook on the range and I liked it. We saw an ad for the closeout on the stove at a local appliance dealer. We got the last Viking appliance that they had there. The range was sold to me at $1000 on the list. Itās a great cooking appliance and I love the heat control on it.
Knowing Viking through friends and knowing its a high-end brand, I got their range. I worked with the distributor during my purchase and it was pleasant. I like the look of my unit and its performance. The power output is nice and it is definitely higher performing. The quality is great and I like how its easy to clean.
I was so happy when we bought our beautiful (blue!) range and fridge in 2011 for our weekend cottage, which is only important because they did not even have daily use. Within the first 2 years the fridge started leaking, the ice maker broke numerous times, the drawers cracked (replacements were hard to find and ridiculously expensive) and now the temperature cannot be adjusted and everything in the fridge freezes. The range is no better. The temperature is uneven, one knob came off, the doors (both) came off their hinges. Now only the small oven closes properly and I have to lean against the large door to get an accurate amount of heat. Iāve spent hours trying to find somebody to fix these two items. When I did, they charged a fortune and the repair lasted no longer than a few weeks. Since about a year I have given up and am living with the expensive mistake I made 9 years ago. Iāve tried contacting Viking directly but they were no help either. I will never buy a Viking again.
Six years ago we bought a $10,000 Viking professional range. While it may look beautiful, it has never worked properly. The large oven door will not shut tightly. We have had the appliance store where we purchased it come out numerous times and I am regularly told that I am being too rough with the door. Well, the door has never closed properly, and because it doesnāt close properly the oven turns off whenever I set the oven to a temperature above 400 degrees. The appliance company insists that thereās nothing wrong with the hinges, and Viking has done absolutely nothing to help. I am now ready to replace a stove that shouldāve lasted my lifetime. If youāre looking for a stove, choose anything but a Viking.
Viking dishwasher inferior product model FDW301. After a flood caused us to update our kitchen, we decided on Viking appliances which had a streamlined look and a quality feel. 6 years later and 1 replacement later, the dishwasher is down again costing us $100/ per repair visit. First issue motor did not cycle. Repairman came in and cleaned filters and bottom water, which I do daily, and it appeared to work. First use, dirty dishes again. I am tired of emptying dirty dishes out of my dishwasher and cleaning the inside of a dishwasher. I have contacted customer service with no results. PRICING A NON VIKING REPLACEMENT DISHWASHER RIGHT NOW.
I have always dreamed of having Viking appliances. I moved into a new house and my wish came true, Viking refrigerator, Viking double ovens, Viking 6 burner gas stove and Viking warming drawer. This came with a hefty price tag but I was over the moon. A few issues with the appliance company, that was a little over 5 yrs ago. Then May 2014, out of warranty we were told by Viking and had to replace the motherboard in both ovens!!! To the tune of over $500. Viking had issues with this problem so extended warranty slightly on newer ovens, so they were aware of problems in past ovens. Fast forward 2 yrs and both ovens are down again. Big pop and smoke. Both ovens again. I have left messages with Viking. No response as of yet.
I needed a particular oven size and Viking Range has them. I like the burners to their double oven. but were now on range number 4. Their corporate guy came out when we had a problem and he solved it. After we got through the the second one, we were good. We had good help at solving the problem. As a matter of fact, they cut the manufacturing down on them until they figure out whats wrong.
Viking Refrigerators has a good appliance. It gave me good refrigeration and I like the overall sleek look of it. I was satisfied where I purchased it from. The gentleman that helped me was knowledgeable. He also found the product online because they didnāt have it in the store, so he was incredible. However, on the delivery of the first fridge, the item was damaged and we had a huge issue with that. Their customer service or delivery people gave us a really bad time, but Best Buy went over and above to rectify the situation, so I do appreciate that. It was very close to the holiday and it was supposed to be delivered at a particular time but it wasnāt, and so they gave us a temporary fridge to refrigerate my things.
WE purchased this to replace our 12yr old jenn air microwave. What a difference we love the control panel and soft lightening. Expense $$$ item but worth. We tried a 3rd party trim kit but looked awful. Ended up going w/ the Viking trim kit. Makes a huge difference.
I was in real estate for some time. Iām into remodeling and I love interior design, so Iām aware of Viking Refrigeration. We just redid our entire kitchen and put all new Viking appliances, everything from oven to a huge cooktop to the refrigerator, downdraft, the dishwasher, and I am not overly pleased with the refrigerator. I called Viking directly and they sent somebody out and repaired a couple of the things that were wrong with the refrigerator. But the main problem that I still have, which is something that I need to make another phone call on, is the ice maker. The refrigerator is a French door with an under mount freezer and when I pull open the freezer door, the little metal handle that comes down to regulate when the ice maker is on and off almost rakes the ice. And so, it all falls out through the back of the freezer. I have to literally army crawl and break my arm to get my hands at the back to clear out the ice thatās fallen at the back on the floor of the freezer or else the freezer door does not close properly. I wonder how many tens of thousands of dollars did I spend on all those appliances. I should have gone back to my GE Profile. Iāve been really disappointed.
I like that Viking has a gas range and its large enough for the six burners that I have. I knew about them through word of mouth and after looking online at different options, I chose to buy from them due to brand recognition and the more commercial look of their ranges. When I called Viking, their reps were very helpful, easy to deal with, and immediately helped me register my range so I could get the process started in the repair that I needed. Iāve had a couple of issues but theyāve been addressed through the warranty. They referred me to a local appliance repair company and theyve been responsive. It took a few weeks to fix the issues and there was a back-and-forth on getting the right parts in, but there had been no extraordinary delays. Currently, thereās still one remaining item for repair and theyāre ordering a separate part for that.
We sent back a previous refrigerator to Viking as the water dispenser wasnt working. The ice maker was working initially but it stopped working as well. A technician came first to evaluate the refrigerator and said he needed to replace some parts. It took weeks for him to get the parts and he finally came back saying that the refrigerator needed to be replaced. It took a while to get the issues resolved and we had to take time off of work to do that. The coordination was a little frustrating, but the process of getting their product replaced went smoothly. The guys who delivered the new refrigerator and helped set it up were great. However, it doesnt have a water dispenser and I wished that Viking had told us that because I spent money buying the charcoal filtration and I dont know what to do with it now. Other than that, their overall service was good. The installation of the refrigerator went fine and the ice maker is working okay.
Our Viking refrigerator is spacious and the shelves are usable. I use the temperature control a lot. My only issue with it is the ice tray location. If it self-fills too much and you pull open the drawer, a lot of the ice fall to the back and go down the floor. But overall, its a great refrigerator.
When I decided to redo my kitchen, I decided to go with Viking Refrigerators to try it out. I also bought Viking range, French door oven, dishwasher. I had the fridge installed and then I had a new cabinet put in and being a first time Viking Refrigerators owner I was very disappointed when the installers pulled it away from the wall and it bent the feet underneath. We did not know it needed to be lowered. Even the contractors who do kitchens all the time did not know that it had to be lowered first.I havenāt used my refrigerator in a month. I got a brand new kitchen but I canāt use the fridge because Iām trying to determine how to get this thing fixed. I called Viking Refrigerators, they referred me to a place called High End Appliances. I called them, they came out, looked at it, and when they gave me the estimate. They were saying it was going to cost like $1,500 to fix it and the Viking Refrigerator was $10,000. I was going to call Viking Refrigerators and share with them the situation in detail. Supposedly the issue was not a manufactures defect. I donāt understand why it canāt be a part of that warranty but as far as the Viking Refrigerators repair person says through High End Appliances, it could not be covered unto warranty. I think that the customer needs to know more specifically that it if a heavy duty item ever needs to be removed it will have to be lowered, because I paid for installation through BestBuy. They put it in and they knew that I was going to get my kitchen remodeled but who was going to tell me to make sure to lower it when I move it.For a major appliance like that that costs $10,000 I would expect that there should be something in writing if this item ever needs to be removed. I think there needs to be something very bold and written so that this wonāt happen to someone else again. I donāt know if that should be something that was made apparent to Viking Refrigerators owners not to move this 48 inch cabinet type fridge unless you first have it professionally lowered. Itās not normal so it was a little frustrating.
I like the look of my Viking refrigerator and Iām very happy with its performance. It keeps the temperature well and if I keep the door open too long, an alarm sets off. Viking has a very good warranty program too. I had a couple issues with my Viking oven and they sent a repairman under warranty immediately and fixed whatever the issue was at no cost. I would tell my friends that it would be a wise decision to purchase a Viking.
I have been very happy with Viking. The downside of the Professional range that I have, is that thereās not a small burner and theyāre all the same size. But other than that, I have not have any problems with them until just recently, when one of my ovens ran out. I looked online for a repairman and I was not happy with the first repairman that I saw. He came into my home, looked at my range and he called me back about a week later, and said that it was going to cost $1,700 for a new control panel, and two workers to repair it. Thatās not right.I did some research. I found another repairman that was Viking approved and it costed me just under 600 to repair my oven. There was a recall on it as well, so they did that. They took care of that in addition to fixing my oven. Probably, the biggest downside is that itās hard to find good and honest repairmen for Viking products. But I have no complaints from my products. Itās a quality product. Iāve got an electric wall oven that I use constantly and gracefully. Thank God that itās performing well. And Iāve used my products all the time. They all look pretty in my home.
I find the Viking refrigerator a steal of a deal. The quality of the refrigerator I received is good. I like its overall look, its aesthetics. The product was still under warranty and I tried to have it serviced because I was having an issue with it. It kept freezing up and then it would have to be defrosted. The service guy that they sent out said it was of a bad design and something that those refrigerators were known for. About a year, they had a bunch of them and it took a while to catch all of them. However, everything got fixed. The customer service has been fine too.
My handles keep loosening and tightening does not work. I would love suggestions as my fridge is less than two years old and to have handles that come off is rather bizarre. I was told I could have someone come out and checkout the price... over 200 to just tighten handles that no one can tighten... The allen wrench holes do not function.
I was doing a re-do and I didnāt do a lot of research. I recognized the Viking name and I expected it would be a quality product. Since the moment they went in, I find the customer service to be horrific. We had some issues. The stove was leaking. The refrigerator was leaking. The dishwasher hasnt been working properly. All kinds of things. Trying to get through to their customer service meant I needed to reach out to some third party contacts. It was very hard to reach them by phone, I had to email them. It took over a week to hear back before they even got in touch with me.Then they had to contact a service representative. The service representative from my area was horrific. He came into my home and said, āI cant really look at that for you. I cant really touch that because Vikingās not gonna pay me to do that,ā which doesnt exactly lead me to believe that theres a lot of support for anything that goes wrong. Some of the things would have been super easy fixes have they just been willing to say, āOkay, its a brand new product, and were gonna help you.ā But they didnt do that.My most recent issue was that the refrigerator is less than six months old, and the vegetable and fruit trays fell off the track. I couldnt get them back on. My husband couldnt get them back on. So we called and that was a month ago. To this day, we still have no answer on how they will rectify that situation. After two weeks, the horrific service man came, looked at it, touched it for one second, and said, āI think its cosmetic. It will be $325 to fix.ā That was the last I heard from him. I told him were not paying $325. Its brand new and its not cosmetic. A track on a brand new refrigerator is in no way cosmetic. I didnt smash the stainless steel on the outside of the refrigerator or even crack the glass of a shelf, which I could understand. But a track is a working part. Thats unacceptable. My husband said yesterday that it is a piece of junk. We bought an entire suite as a rebuild. It was a big investment for us. It wasnt an easy purchase, it was something that we did because we thought it would add value to our home and it would be quality appliances, and we wouldnt have to call service a million times like we might have had to call if we bought GE appliances. But I would have been way better off with that. I also had Sub-Zero refrigerators for 35 years before this. Two of them only over 20 years each, and I never had to call the service company. The dishwasher, which we have not called them for service, already has parts that have fallen off of it. Its the most disappointing purchase of my life. I would never buy Viking again. I would never recommend it. The refrigerator, over $10,000 just for the one piece of equipment, they got to have better service. This is not acceptable. Even if the customer ends up having to pay, which I should not have to pay for that, I should at least get somebody to answer my question. I should have a supervisor or a manager call me back to say this shouldnt happen.
Viking is in my budget range. Also, Ive read a lot where they say Viking will have good maintenance. There will be people who will come out and fix it when somethings broken. Maintenance is important. I like the consistent heat. The range has been cooking well. Every time somethings not working, I have called the dealer and they have helped to contact a local maintenance supplier.
Ive seen Viking ranges and other appliances and knew they were more in professional kitchens. And then, I was at Best Buy and they had a model there. I got their refrigerator because the way it was built. The layout of the interior had separate sensor controls for bins inside the refrigerator. I also like the way the freezer is set up on the bottom, and the adjustable shelves. So far, its good and Im completely satisfied.
Iāve had friends with Viking and I thought it was a really good one. But mine has had a lot of trouble. My range was put together wrong so it burned out wires. It wonāt work half of the time. Iāve only had it since November and I probably cooked on it three months out of all these months Iāve had it. Itās not really good. Viking sent someone to look at it and they worked on it one time, replaced some things, and got it going. But something else went wrong and maintenance people were sent to check it but Viking refused to pay for the service. They were supposed to get in touch with me to figure out what Viking is gonna do about my problem. The guys who worked on my unit said Viking just needs to send me a new one because mine never worked. Weāve spent a ton of time and I havenāt been able to use my range. Itās still sitting there. Viking got feedback from me and Iām still waiting on them to call me back. They wonāt return my phone calls. I used my unit when it worked but I waited two months to fix it the first time. Thatās so unsatisfactory. I need someone to fix my Viking.
I have purchased 2 Viking wall ovens within the past 12 years, one at a discounted rate because my first purchase with them only lasted five years with many, many repairs in between. First of all their hinges on the door break very easily, the door to the oven is very heavy and can withstand constant use. Once the hinges break, the oven door cannot seal properly and therefore the oven will not run. The broiler coils burn out very fast. The oven cooks well over temperature, so you can trust the exact temperatures. The lettering on the wall peels off very quickly. I did not use any chemicals on it and I always used a soft rag with water to try and clean it. The stove top I purchased as well and that is also in bad shape. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!
My favorite feature of our Viking range is the griddle. However, it takes too long to preheat which Iām not happy about. But the team at the Viking dealer were excellent. They did a great job walking through every feature and its capabilities.
From the time I bought 2 top-of-the-line Viking dishwashers, I have had problems. I am noticing that most people in this room experienced similar laissez-faire attitude from Viking who must have bounced me from one representative to another a good 5 times over the years, only to tell me that my warranty ran out. One lady tried to help me but was swiftly replaced and I never got the attention this needed. $4500 spent and most wash (all of them) end with error/fault codes and need resetting. This message, I hope, will discourage people from being lured into believing that Viking is a stand up company and that they place good emphasis on making sure the client is taken care of. Additionally, where I think they really should rethink the way they treat clients, is that in my case, I am looking to replace refrigerator, freezer and 60 inch cooking surface. They will be missing out on this (however small) amount of revenues. If anyone gets thru to management or customer service for any kind of help, I would like to know about it as I am not yet able to replace it for a competitor and would still like Viking to make me whole on this bad purchase.
I had a KitchenAid that was four years old prior to having my first Viking Refrigerator, and I had nothing but problems with their refrigerators. The Viking Refrigerator is beautiful. It was the only one that looked built-in and looked really like a professional grade refrigerator with the handles. It looks good in my kitchen and it cools the food. Thatās top-of-the-line so I was expecting it to be quiet but thatās not the case. The actual noise that comes out of that refrigerator is absolutely unacceptable and terrible. Its super high pitched, like a whistling sound. Its the loudest refrigerator Ive ever had. Ive had two people come out and look at it and they werenāt very helpful. One was here for five minutes and said, āNo, thatās just the compressor. No, its a little bit louder than most but thatās just normal.ā That was it and then he left. I had three homes and several different refrigerators and for them to act like it was normal but mine was a little bit louder than the rest made me wonder if there was really something wrong with it. Even my husband said that weve spent almost $4,000 on this fridge and its super loud. Im just going to have to live with it and maybe down the line, if it doesnāt break in, then Im going to have them come back out. And Id tell others not to buy one because they might get a loud one like mine.
Installed a Viking kitchen including dishwasher 4 years and 11 months ago. Dishwasher failed just short of 5 years. Viking service came out & advised that electrical components, wiring harness and rubber seal failed. I paid $180 for service call and Viking refused to help in any way to repair the dishwasher. Service advised me that replacement was the only practical option as multiple repairs necessary would be cost prohibitive. We are very disappointed in Viking quality (except for range). Purchase Viking products at your own risk is my advice. Many better options are available in the price range they market their products in.
I wanted upscale appliances and I wanted to buy American. I had a general knowledge of the Viking brand and I liked the products themselves. They were really pretty. I got a solid chef kind of a range. It was very attractive. It has good features and layout of the burners. But the range had a number of issues along the way. The last issue was the ignition wasnāt working in the oven. The repair people were prompt. They were good.
My friend had a Viking range and recommended it to us. We didnāt have a place for a double oven in the wall, so I wanted a large range and the Viking range happened to be available. We were looking at Wolf initially but the Viking range that we found and purchased was with the dual fuel and it was also the floor model. So it was over the top, but our kitchen is over the top as well, so it went with our kitchen. Also, the quality of the range is wonderful. I like the convection oven that Ive never had before and I use it all the time. It definitely works a lot faster than other ovens. We received a lot of appliances with different brands from the Viking dealer and the reps there were good. When we first had the Viking range installed, the convection fan was really loud and would rattle the floor when we put the convection oven on. They had somebody come out and replace the fan. It still gets a little loud, but it doesnāt do anymore what it did before, and we hope that we donāt have to ever deal with that situation again. They definitely rectified the situation promptly and that was really good. I will go back to Viking Ranges.
We noticed that on the refrigerator side, when we would open our Viking, the door wasnt closing on its own when we let go of the door handle. So, I called in the place where we purchased it and then they said we still had a warranty for the refrigerator itself for Viking. So then I called them and put in a claim. I turned out that the latch from underneath the door was broken. We waited two weeks for the parts to be delivered. It also seemed that the doors were not levelled. The freezer was fine but the refrigerator was a bit lower than the freezer. But thats fixed now and its working fine. I love that we have more room to place everything in.
Side by Side 29x79 Professional Viking Fridge and Freezer - Top of the line price and look. Worked well for three years and has been downhill since. Ice maker broke in freezer. Drawers split and fell out in fridge. All fixable until the seal started to tear on the door which as you would imagine, if not working properly it doesnt hold in cold air and temp rises. We ordered not one, or two but three times, went back and forth with Viking and three different appliance repair guys. Final analysis is that Viking no longer makes same seal and the replacement seal DOESNT FIT! IT DOESNT WORK! We have pulled our hair out trying to find someone whose fridge maybe blew up or fell out of the back of a truck just to nab the $100 seal from original fridge and have it snapped in 10 minutes. It is a CRIME that a manufacturer makes a 10K unit and then cant provide basic replacement parts and therefore deems the product obsolete.
I am not very happy with Viking Refrigerators. They are not at the level that I thought they were like Wolf appliances. It definitely compares with Maytag and KitchenAid and in that range, I think Vikings one of the ones that I would definitely go for. But price-wise, it is slightly expensive. They are also pretty small refrigerators. I wanted the 44-inch and has more options to choose but I did not see many so I finally ended up with the 36-inch ones. Although, its doing what a fridge is supposed to do and I think thats the minimum we expect to see. I like the compartment arrangement even though the rack arrangement in the lower compartment is small. Its also very noisy and I like to see a quieter appliance than what I have.
My husbandās company does construction and they work with Viking Ranges. I was redoing my kitchen, so I put Viking appliances in it. I like my refrigerator and my microwave, but Iāve had a lot of problems with the range. The first one I had, the motherboard kept burning out. They replaced it four times. It broke on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Yearās Eve and New Yearās Day. And then Viking replaced the oven back in January but thereās still different issues that keep coming up. I had the bake module replaced, but that did not solve the problem. I did manage to cook Easter dinner this year. At least when the oven shuts off Iām able to turn it back on. The other way, when it shuts off, there was no turning it on. So, I had to cook all my holiday dinners on the barbecue grill. So weāre back to square one. If this is a lemon, they might have to replace it again.I had some not so pleasant experiences with Viking, but Sheryl has been very helpful and good. They just cant understand whatās going on. They want to send another repairman from a different appliance company to see if a different set of eyes can see something different. But to be honest, Iām not holding out any hope for that. I would not recommend a Viking Range. Theyāre expensive appliances. When you go online, people arenāt that happy with the range either.
Our Viking refrigerator is of excellent quality. I like how heavy-duty it feels.
There was a technical issue with our Viking that led to it being replaced. It was an older model that had a very unfortunate habit of freezing over the freezer at the bottom. The customer service was quite good. My wife contacted a US service representative who referred us to a local repair person who came to our house and assessed the issue. Being that this was something that was recognized as Viking and something that warranted a replacement, he reached out to a Canadian representative who emailed us and spoke to my wife. We then signed a contract and an NDA and they replaced the refrigerator. So far, the freezing at the bottom hasnt happened with the new unit. It functions well.
We bought the new model of Viking Refrigerator that was a little less expensive than Subzero and got better reviews. We like it and my favorite is its lighting feature. Viking Refrigerator is okay but weāre not blown away. We noticed that the icemaker doesnāt know when to stop making ice, it just overflows. It does all right keeping things cold but sometimes itās freezing something and sometimes itās not. Itās just bizarre, itās like some things in a certain area of the refrigerator tend to freeze. Almost not solid frozen but get close to frozen. It looks great though. Its aesthetically pleasing. I have a cheap refrigerator in Florida that performs the same. Nonetheless, the Viking dealer was great. We got all of our appliances through them. If someone would ask about Viking, Id tell them to do the research and really find out what products work the best. Viking is a good line but I think refrigerators are overrated.
Have had a Viking range for 12 years and have been unhappy for 10 years. Bought it after much research, but unfortunately there were few reviews at that time and features seemed to be the best. Well, it is a piece of junk! It takes 30 minutes to heat. The door does not close right despite having 3 service calls regarding this issue. The self-clean only worked once and would never lock again. I hate this stove, but really hurts to throw away since it cost so much.
Weāve had Viking equipment in previous homes then we bought from them again and got a Viking refrigerator. Its good quality and it works. Itās doing very well and also looks good in the kitchen. The Viking dealer we got it from was very cordial and very easy to deal with. I would tell others to take a good look at Viking Refrigerators.
I googled stoves and ranges and we liked the looks of Viking ranges and the reputation that we had learned that they have. It has great good quality too and the griddle is my favorite. The Viking dealer were all real helpful. Ms. Jordan helped us, and she was real good and answered all our questions. They delivered the range, and then we hired somebody to have it installed. Overall, itās a great stove.
We purchased the DMOC in 2007 (no longer available). Beginning in 2009 the problems began. First, a fuse. Then the wiring circuit was bad, followed by the door switch which was faulty.. was repaired. Then replaced a fuse again (same one), and it quit again a week ago. We called the Viking Southwest President and spoke with him. Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! He stated he would get the record of repairs from their authorized service company (whom we did use!) and he would get back us. No call back. We called again and left a message 4 days after our initial conversation. No call back. Today, a new convection microhood from the competition was installed!
I saw Viking Ranges a few times and I liked the quality that it provided and how everything was cast-iron, durable. I like to cook so I told my wife if weāre going to upgrade the kitchen, Iām going to go all-out and get the stove that I want. Something that blended a little bit and had that commercial, restaurant look, and Viking was definitely a factor and their warranty was a big reason too. It is what I was looking for. I also looked at some of the higher-end products but I thought of just getting the one that I want with a higher quality. I got the 30ā Series 5 and I like its broiling infrared feature. I also bought a range hood for the top. I already told my wife that if we sell the house, theyāre either going to have to pay cash for the appliances or theyāre coming with me. I went through Elite Appliance and the shipping was free and the delivery was on time. They had it tracked for me. I got a good deal on my 5 Series. So, I was really happy with them. I would definitely recommend Viking Ranges to whoever is upgrading their house. I know itās hard. People donāt want to spend that kind of money on a stove. My wife still thinks Iām crazy, but every time somebody comes over, itās the wow-factor. They walk in and say, āWow, itās a beautiful stove.ā It makes the kitchen almost like a chef-style kitchen and thatās what I like about it.
We purchased a Gas and Electric wall ovens. I love the electric oven and have had no problems. It is going on 3 years and the Gas oven problem has yet to be resolved. Only used it 4 times. There is a strong gas smell and each time it got worse where my eyes watered. They know about this problem and still waiting for the 2nd repair company to resolve this.
The unit that I have has the 18,000 BTU gas flame cooktop and the infrared broiler is super strong. But recently, the front right burner will take a few seconds to fire up. Also, weve been waiting for a couple of weeks now to get the mounting bolts for the microwave. We had our kitchen remodeled and the contractor demolition team cut through some bolts.
The purchase and installation of the new range was very seamless and easy. Everything was delivered on time and in good shape. The only negative is that the glass panel keeps getting loose on one of our two Viking ranges. I have to keep screwing it back in. But everything works great. They all perform as advertised and we havent had any issues. Itās a good quality product.
Viking Refrigerator DDSB548SS - Bought the refrigerator on 2012. I live alone and am very careful with my things. All is working well except for the door shelves. These are made from plastic with a glass at front. Two months after the fridge was installed, the plastic on the door shelves started to crack and disintegrated into very small pieces. All broke within a year; theres four shelves in total. All are broken and cost about $250 a piece.
I have known about Viking Ranges growing up. Seeing them in houses, Iāve been really impressed with how they look. Iāve always wanted a Viking range and I did not know they also had a free-standing fridge that was huge. But, the free dishwasher was the main thing as to why I went with them over other companies. The Viking guy had to come up because we are at a different elevation, so he had to do something. When you turn it on underneath, it takes a little while to light up and I didnāt even notice that but he noticed it. Nevertheless, it looks beautiful and everything that weāve put in it has been awesome so far. Also, the rep I dealt with was great. I knew what I wanted so she didnāt have to do too much. However, as soon as the first range was delivered, it was all banged up. The lady had it exchanged out within a week and really helped me out with those little things.
Only two refrigerators would fit in my kitchen. One was Sub-Zero and I wasnāt in love with it. The other was Viking. It has more room at the top and I like it a lot.
I like the efficiency and design of the Viking ranges burners up on the cooktop. Ive had two ranges over the years, and overall, the quality is good. Ive bought other ranges to try to save money, but they didnt measure up. So, when I was able to afford it, I bought my second Viking and I use it every day. And its wonderful. We just had a repair done under warranty to the current one that we have. It was an igniter, but it got totally handled for everything, and now its back in action. It took two weeks to get the part but the person who came to do the repair did a great job.
I purchased a refrigerator, a stove, wine cooler and vent hood from Viking. The refrigerators quality is great. It looks good and it works well. But we had a cosmetic issue with it about its packaging. I guess itās from the factory like somebody had scoured through the packaging to get the handles attached. They basically cut the steel when they did so it got scour marks on the steel. Iāve already filed a warranty claim and somebody contacted me. They were supposed to schedule a time to come out but I never heard from them again. The last time I did was eight weeks ago and I just remembered recently that it never got done. When I was speaking with the team at Viking Refrigerators, the experience is generally pretty good. But it was a little frustrating that I had to go separately to register the warranty then come back to them to do it rather than staying to do it with them right then and there. It should have been a little bit easier. But other than that, the experience with talking with them about the problem seemed fine. But they havent followed up with the local contractor. I got a call from Viking shortly after being contacted by the local person asking me if the contractor finished it which I told them that they have not. Then they said to check back in with them but I donāt think anyone has. Other than that, I find it interesting that they dont have French door built-in refrigerator on the larger sizes. We got their 42-inch size and Viking doesnāt offer a French door refrigerator which we wouldāve liked. But at the end of the day, the cost difference to go for a Wolf or Subzero ācause they have that as an option on a built-in is not worth it. And I will still recommend Viking.
My son has a Viking range and I also saw it in other homes. I was pleased with it and I got one, too. I went to a company thats a distributor of Viking Ranges and their reps were very good and patient, so I ordered from them. Their salesman was not having to win me, but he kept in touch with me and was very good. The range was installed a couple of months ago and I love its sturdiness. I like its quality and burners, too. Its features are really simple. However, they set the igniter too far away and it wasnt adjusted properly from the factory. So, I had to call them to adjust that and my experience went smoothly. I would recommend Viking Ranges.
We bought a house in 2011 that had a 36 Viking gas range. The kitchen had been remodeled the year before so the appliances were all practically new, and the old owners asked us to pay for them separately. Im so glad we didnt, because this Viking stove is a piece of junk. We have twice had it stop working and it took a long time to get it fixed because the Viking specialists wanted to charge us an arm and a leg just to come look at the appliance. I have never known anyone who has had fuses just stop working on their oven -- this happened to us. Then, we discovered this winter that the igniter was melting onto the burner, which was triggering the whole unit to turn off for safety. This started happening when we were throwing a dinner party and I was trying to cook for 25 people. We got it fixed but it still sometimes doesnt heat up reliably. I would never recommend Viking products based on our experience with this stove. I never know if it will heat up as it should or if I will just have to figure out another way to cook my food. Its been totally horrible.
Got on this website to see if others have had issues with Viking Refrigerators. Our house came with a Viking Pro, but it had so many problems. Viking sold us a newer one at a discount. Now, the replacement is doing the same things - erratic temperatures, spoiling food, alarm goes off, constant calls for repairs (and expense) - such that we have not been able to use it for months. Thank God for an over 25 year old Hotpoint fridge that we have had in our garages in several homes across the country but has never has had a problem. I can see that others have had issues and while I am glad to learn that, I am at a loss as to why a company that once had, I thought, a good reputation, is not seriously concerned and doing something about it. Is the company going under?
I donāt like Viking appliances. Iāve had issues with the ice maker ever since I bought my refrigerator. They came out one time and replaced it because they said there was a fly in it. After they fixed it, it worked for about six months. And then I have to always pull the bin out, empty it out, clean it out and put it back in so it could work again. Now it doesnāt work at all. Iāve called Appliance Masters and theyāve been out many times. The repairman comes and he says nothing is wrong with it but I still have an issue. At this point, I have no warranty on it but I need someone to come out and actually fix it. I ordered the part to change it myself. The dealers were nice. But as far as when I emailed them, I got absolutely no response.Iāve had my dishwasher for seven years and when I turn it on, it runs over three hours and I have to open the door and see if itās clean or dry. I never know how long itās supposed to take. I never knew from the beginning because it never ran a full cycle. When I open it, I see all this water and soap in the bottom. I wash my dishes by hand. The water is sitting there. I have to spoon it out or cup it out because it starts to smell after a while. Itās a big issue for me because Iāve never been able to have a full cycle of clean dishes. When I called this last time to get somebody to help me with my appliances, the repairman told me he gets a negative call every single day and heās always apologizing to the customers when they call. Consumers like me donāt know who to contact to say their complaint to. The sales guy was telling me that he gets this kind of call every single day. Generally, Iām easygoing and I donāt really like complaining about anything. But when it comes to a point when somebodyās so top-notch, I get very disappointed because of the name.Viking has a name like Mercedes-Benz. I was thinking I was getting the best and I was very wrong because if Viking was so great, their appliances would work properly. And even if I get a lemon, I understand that at least it could be fixed when someone comes out to check it. I was disappointed. I would not recommend Viking to anybody. I would not recommend the places I called for service for Viking. They just canāt fix it. I used to have a GE and itās in my garage now. It works a lot better than Viking and Iāve had that a lot longer.
I wouldnt recommend Viking Ranges. We got it because of the brand reputation and the style. However, we have an oven that takes about 45 to 50 minutes to preheat to 350. We called Viking Ranges and they told us who to call. Then when we called the people out here in Los Angeles who are the authorized service reps, the rep thought it was normal. The second time we called was when the rep was really informative and checked with the service tech. She confirmed that it is normal to take that long for the oven to preheat. I went right to the stores. I wish someone would confirm that sounds too long. It seems like there would be way too many complaints to get away with that. We rarely use it but aside from the oven, the range also has a range top which is great.
I needed a Viking fridge that matched the stove I already had. I purchased one and I havent been feeling great about it. Recently, the whole freezer got clogged up and I had to shut the whole unit down. I also had to replace a part in the fridge which cost me around $600. Getting the unit repaired was difficult because the two places registered with Viking in my area were terribly reviewed. Plus, those places were not able to help me immediately.
The range is large and stainless steel. And it feels like it has high build quality. I coordinated a fix on a gas leak through email. Viking had to send the repair guys out a few times to figure out the leak. They were attentive and followed up.
There was not a Viking dealer close to me in West Virginia. So I bought a Viking gas range in Maryland and I paid to have it shipped. I had it for a few months now, but the oven quit working. I had it repaired five times and every time it died, it was the same part. Finally after about a year and a half, Viking offered to give me another range and another warranty. I got the same model but a year newer. They had the rollers on it where mine didnt. I used it for six months but the oven quit working. It was repaired twice, but what they decided after the second time was that it needed what I call a torpedo fan that would come on when the oven got hot and blow on this little electronic part that kept dying. It was repaired once after they put the fan on and in June of last year it died again. After about a year and a half, the store that was sending a repairman to me from Pennsylvania went out of business and all of a sudden I didnt have a repairman that could come. So Viking made arrangements with Bridgeville Appliance in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania to come and service. Each time that I had a service, I called up and then in two weeks the guy had come and sometimes hed have to order a part. The guy came from 15 miles away and when he looked at the stove, he had no idea how to attack it. I dont know whether they paid the guy or not but it was under a warranty. When the second oven died last June I told them, I absolutely wanted my money back and they did not offer me that. I told them, I do not want the same model. Ive had two and neither ones worked. They then emailed me and I talked to somebody in Mississippi. They finally put me over to somebody who offered me four models. I told them, I would be willing to pay a normal fee to upgrade but I wasnt going to pay the full price. I chose a gas top with electric oven and it was finally installed last December. So its been six months without an oven. Right now, the oven is still working but I havent used it a whole lot because Ive kind of got away from using it. But Its been almost three years playing with this.Viking honored their warranty but the first product I bought was not even self-cleaning. It was a basic stove and I dont think they had enough installation around the oven to protect that because that electronic part sat on top of the oven underneath the burners. And when they had to repair, they took the top off, different repairman did different things. After four or five repairs, you get a little disgusted. They kept telling me that I was the only one who had the part was dying. But that didnt make sense. There should have been a recall. When they put that little torpedo fan blowing on, I could hear the little fan go on.When they brought this last oven, there was a $6,900 and some dollar price tag on it and I only paid about $4,000 for the first one. So, they really upgraded me. Ive got really good service with the repair, except sometimes, getting someone here took a time. Each time the oven broke down, I had at least a month or six weeks without an oven. I was more without than I was with an oven. So I would not recommend this product.
I bought my first Viking in 2004 with my inheritance from my grandmother. I always dreamed of having a professional kitchen. I purchased all Thermador except for my Fridge. I have a Viking 36inch drawer freezer on bottom. Never ending recalls and issues then I purchased a new one from the company on a recall. The man showed up with the new unit and fixed the recall on the recalled unit. Well, that was in 2011, it is now 2017 and guess what? I am in the same shape as I was before. However, no deal. I have fallen on pretty much deaf ears. You can even YouTube funny skits about it, but the techs will look at you like you are the only person in the world. I have a mental block on that beeping noise when the compressor goes out and I am about to lose all my food. Good news though, I just found out they are indeed suppose to defrost themselves. So, if you are a gambler, like taking chances... maybe just maybe you will be lucky enough not to deal with what I have. Cheers!Updated on [05/06/2018]: I wanted to follow up with all the promises that were made to me. Well, that just did not work out so now I have a trusty 159.00 freezer from Sams Wholesale Club and my ice cream is now frozen. I found out that well they had also replaced the parts they replaced while I was ill for a pretty penny and they are still claiming no fault. However, my Thermador products are working like a charm and I will be investing in their products. Please learn from my experience... when you buy expensive products make sure the quality and customer support is behind you. I have no problem paying... but donāt give me Magic Chief with a Viking name on it. Not to mention treat me like a human being. I work hard for my money. Iām sure even Viking would not tolerate what they do to their clients.
The quality of Viking is very good. The stovetop and the oven get hot really quickly. I wish it was a little bigger but that was a decision we made and I didnt realize that it would feel as small as it is. But, it doesnt have any fancy electronics and thats a bit hard to get used to at first. We also used to have a griddle but its okay. We have a better functioning stove or oven and its definitely an improvement from what we had last. However, Im having some trouble. When the Viking arrived, it took some time to get it installed because our kitchen was under renovation. It was more than a month. We got a range, and with it, we also got a dishwasher and that came dented. When we called, the reps were like, āWhy didnāt you open it right away?ā And were like, āWe were told that it was going to be a very, very long wait because of COVID. And so we ordered it in April, knowing we were renovating in June.ā The company that we bought it through was very nice, and they ended up working with us on it. So it turned out to not be a problem. But they came to replace the dented door of the dishwasher and they brought another dented door. So then we waited again. It took a long time to get it all settled. On the oven, the light shows that its preheating or that its on. Sometimes, we can hear the gas lighting. Also, there have been numerous times where I come back to look at my potatoes and the oven has been off the whole time and this happens a lot. But itās not like it was smelling gas in the house. So weāre starting to be able to piece together that thereās something thatās not right. It has happened at least seven times where Ill start the oven, it will be hot, Ill put my food in, Ill go back, and then the whole meal is ruined because its not hot anymore. But its on 400.
I purchased all Viking products for my home. The exterior look is excellent but looks are deceiving! Almost every interior component of my refrigerator (VCSB483D) has had issues. Cracked butter covers, drawers that crack and fall off the track, track that wont support drawers, cracked freezer interior lining, ice maker issues, drain issues. The problem is Viking does not really seem to want to help you when its under warranty (loopholes like cracked components are cosmetic) why should that matter! Ive owned many non luxury brands that not only held up better, the manufacturers stood behind their products.
Refrigerator purchased 2011 (along with Viking ranges & ovens) and just ran out of warranty in August 2014. Since purchase, the refrigerator door hinge was recalled due to faulty manufacturing which might have caused door to fall off when opening. Next, the on-off light switch in the lower freezer compartment had to be replaced (just outside of warranty period) due to ice forming on the switch. Ice in a freezer??? Finally, rust has formed on the freezer door rails, again right after the warranty expired. Multiple calls to Viking customer support yielded no satisfaction...their warranty policy makes no exceptions for quality problems outside of the warranty period. Needless to say, not a happy Viking customer.
I have had a Viking stove for about 30 years. When I went into a store, I saw that there were Viking displays and the refrigerator really looked very nice. I needed the built-in one because I was taking out the bad old built-in. The Viking refrigerator had all the features I wanted and had good quality parts and interior too. The ice machine is in the freezer. And I like the ice to be in the tray where I could scoop it out. I got a side-by-side that looks good in my kitchen. I like the same feel and that it was constructed with a simple design. I also like the clean stainless steel doors and the way its very vertical and tall. I hope that it would last a very long time. If it does, then Id be happy. My experience with the dealer was pretty good but they dont use the best people to do the installation. Their people are not really specialized for Viking. They brought the first refrigerator in and installed it in such a way that they damaged one of the doors. And then they had to send another refrigerator to replace it and it was a big ordeal. Nevertheless, I would tell my friends that so far, I am happy with my Viking refrigerator.
I got a range, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a refrigerator from Viking. But Im not happy with any of them. I had a problem with the burners of the range. Its really easy to move the igniter if youre cleaning it and when you take the ring off. But if you move the igniter too close, it wont ignite. You have to bend it back into place. I had to bend it back in place initially to get it to work. Also, the finish on the grills that come with it on the top came off on it in four months. I called Viking and figured they would send me a new one. But they said it was not covered and that it was cosmetic. These things are supposed to be pretty sweet. In general, Iām super disappointed in the fact that itās 10 grand on a package and Iām not happy with any of the units.
Viking dishwasher (we have an all Viking kitchen) has disappointed me twice now in 5 years of ownership. Hoses that are internal to the cabinet just come off which results in leaks. Since this model has a catch pan, a float will result in the dishwasher staying in drain mode. Ive found that short non-barbed plastic nipples will allow hoses to come off over time. Poor design on what otherwise could have been a nice unit since it did a great job cleaning dishes. I just purchased a new unit from another company.
We bought our Viking 6-burner range used, with very low usage on it. It looked all pretty with the stainless parts, and worked well... for a year or two. After a while, Ive noticed the lack of stainless parts and fasteners where it matters. This thing is just a rust-bucket. We live in an area where steel is not particularly prone to corrosion - the lousy materials are to blame. Rusty, creaky door hinges (maybe that is why our door actually stays closed :-o). Rotting gas oven burner. The pan under the grates has rust-through. On and on. If I thought this was a long-term keeper, Id order a truckload of igniters for the oven, as they go out regularly. If I had to pay someone to work on this, it would be much cheaper to buy something else. Rubbish! Id rather have an old 55-gallon drum and scrap wood than another one of these.
My refrigerator has leaked for 10 months. I have a side-by-side freezer and refrigerator each freestanding unit, but they are mounted in together. My freezer was reinstalled crooked, and now Iām waiting to hear back from Viking to get it adjusted and installed correctly. I first reported the incident with my original refrigerator in July of 2018. It took me 10 months and 11 service calls to get my unit replaced, and many windows of times waiting for someone to come and service it as recent as yesterday because my Viking refrigerator and my Viking freezer had two different badges on them -- the tag on it that says Viking. One says Viking Professional, and itās 2x4 inches large, and the other one is 1 inch by 2, 3 inches wide, so they dont match. They sent someone out to fix the badges, and the repairperson was not able to because of the badge that was sent. So, I took time out of my day to be home during my service window, only for him to tell me, āSorry, I canāt do anything for you. Youāll have to call again.ā I would tell others to buy a Sub-Zero instead.
I had my Viking range and stove delivered and set up. I used the burners right away. They are fantastic, provide a HUGE amount of heat, are quiet, and easy to keep clean. The oven, which I would now rate a 5 out of 5, made a terrible grinding fan noise the first time I used it. Lakeview Appliance came out, their tech tightened a few things in the back, and it was quiet for 3 days. The horrendous noise came back, and this time we recorded the noise from several angles with my Wifes smartphone. This time when the tech came out, he listened to the recording, checked a few things on the back of the oven, and stated that he was ordering a new cooling fan. This did the trick! The oven is now quiet, powerful, and works like a charm! Overall I would rate the unit a 5 out of 5 now that it is fixed. It is a great looking unit, very professional in appearance, and the stainless surfaces are easy to keep clean.
We were home builders and we were at Pacific Sales looking at different ranges, and because of the design and quality, we went with Viking. We bought a double oven set for us. They are side by side and one is smaller and one is larger. However, the large oven did not work. I spoke to Viking, and it took five visits before they replaced it. They replaced it a month ago after I threatened to sue them.
The first two years with the Viking refrigerator was a nightmare. They came out 10 times. First, it was the wheels. Then it was the compressor. Then it was the coils. Something happened when it was put in. The people were inexperienced or they manhandled it. We told them to give us a new one and quit repairing it. It went back to Ferguson and they got us a new one. The install went better but the second refrigerator had a problem with the cooling fan. It was noisy from the second they plugged it in. Eventually, we got someone out. There were four or five different trips to repair this second one and sure enough, it was the fan. After two years, two refrigerators and 15 visits, the Viking refrigerator is working like it should. Its a nice refrigerator, but we went through a lot of troubles. Between two refrigerators and the repair, every time they repair it, you gotta take all the food out and I probably got scuffs on the floor. We wont get Viking again. We paid four or five times as much purely because Viking has such a good reputation but the worst thing about our house was this refrigerator. It got so bad that we called the attorney general of Minnesota who stepped in on the case. Vikingās been very polite when we call them up. The problem is there are different groups to work with - my contractor, Vikings, Ferguson, the person who installs it and a different person who repairs it.
I had a frustrating and disappointing experience with Viking Ranges. I chose it because of the style and cost but the range I received was horrible. The first time I used it, I turned on the burners and then I turned on the oven. Underneath the burner, it exploded into a flame so I got a fire extinguisher and put it out. I called Viking and they sent out a repairman. He looked at it and he said that the range was a total loss so they arranged to have it replaced. When they came out to replace it, they arranged the time with me.The night before the agreed time, they called me on a robocall and told me a different time. So I called them back and I said, Ive already arranged to meet at the time we agreed. They called back and said, No, we cant do that. They said that the only way I can arrange the time is to wait til 24 hours before theyll tell me when the time would be. Thats hard to do if youre working so that was a hassle. So I said, I dont know what to do because I cant meet that time you want cause Ive already arranged with my work to be the other time, which we already agreed to, well, I already made the appointment. That was a week earlier and they said at that time it was fine to have the time that we arranged. So I did, then they said they didnt have another day when they could tell me when they could come back. They called me an hour later and said, Okay, we can meet your original time. They came and replaced my range.Vikingās customer service reps were fine but their service people were a hassle because of the scheduling. The actual service man who came out was fine. What happened was very dangerous. The repairman even said that if I turned on the oven first, let it go for a long time and then turn the burner on, there could have been an explosion. But I had the burner on first and then I turned the oven on so all it did was catch fire underneath the burner. My Viking Range works fine now. Its just that I got a really bad Viking Range in the beginning.
One of the burners of my Viking range doesnt light all the time but its also 10 years old so thats somewhat understandable. It seems like its good quality. The most important thing to me is that it will kind of last. However, Im trying to buy a griddle cover and its an older model so its not super easy to tell if the griddle cover they sell now kind of will work on it.
Installed Viking appliances in our brand new home and it didnt take long for problems to start. The dishwasher model #VD8200SS started leaking and not drying after the first wash. I had the unit serviced twice to finally find out the entire soap dispenser piece needed to be replaced. The unit stopped leaking, but still wont dry. The serviceman was dumbfounded. The unit began smelling and stopped working all together. The service discovered it needed a brand new drain pump. Drain pump installed and turns on, but it still smells and the washer still refuses to dry anything. Double oven model #VED01302TSS now makes humming noise while the unit is off. The serviceman went back out to the house and said it needs a transformer and advised me Viking ovens are pretty much a joke and suggested to not use the self-clean function. He said it only greases up the inside wires and gadgets, and is very expensive to replace after the warranty expires. Out of the 7 Viking appliances I currently have, the stove top and toaster are probably the only two which didnt see a lot of problems with. Dishwashers, stoves, fridge, beverage centers and microwaves - forget it. Viking is simply overpriced and a total joke. Viking, you can pretty much stick it. Ill never buy another Viking product and Ill pass along my experiences with Viking every chance I get. Dont buy this crap!
I like to cook and nothing is better than a Viking range. It looks great, professional and it heats up super fast. I also love that there is no electronics on it and the convection oven is awesome. On the other hand, the delivery was a bit of a snafu. I was supposed to get set up for install and delivery. They came and they said they were only there for delivery. When I said no, the guy told me the price of the install and hauled away. I was not in town, so it didnt get installed and I had to reschedule. I also got the dishwasher with the range and the face on the top of the dishwasher got scratched. I called and called, and left a message to have the dealer fix it. The little flap where the detergent is put to soak off also needs to get fixed. Other than that, it all worked out because I got the awesome range which is quality.
Everythings been great with my Viking refrigerator.
We bought a house that had a Viking stove installed by the contractor. We are happy with the stove. The range that we have, the stove unit and the hood, is fine. It lights when I turn the gas on and works good, but we were a little disappointed that our brand new Viking refrigerator had to be serviced within a year. Plus, we have a dishwasher that has never worked at all. Thereās a warranty provided but its been a real disappointment. Weāve had much cheaper washer that performed ten times better than this one.
My designer recommended Viking, and weve already had two problems with it, so its really not my most favorite product in the world. Some type of sensor froze over and it lacked control. I had to throw all the contents of the refrigerator and freezer twice. Its been repaired now. But it took over a week to get it fixed. I would not buy a Viking again.
I am a advocate of buying American-made every chance I get. So, I was excited that our new place was equipped with all Viking appliances. That being said, I have been very disappointed with all of our Viking appliances, and wish we had something else. As we speak, our dishwasher is making an obnoxious beeping sound. It will not stop. It has been going on for an entire day. I have tried disconnecting, shutting of the main power switch--everything, but to no avail. Dishes are piling up and I am just angry at this stupid machine. What is the point of this stupid design flaw? What is the beep telling me and why cant I shut the stupid thing off. This is just one of my many complaints about Viking. The oven hood/exhaust is insufficient. The burners do not always ignite and when they do the click of the igniter will not stop. The heat distributes unevenly. The oven often just shuts off and ruins whatever I am baking. It will reach 400 degrees and then I come back and my bread is a gooey gob because the oven is cold. The refrigerator/freezer is very poorly designed and the plastic shelves and drawers break very easily. The freezer has basket shelves--it is a bottom freezer drawer under the fridge. So, you put stuff in and the stuff ends up slipping through. The refrigerator water dispenser does not have a light to indicate when the filter needs to be replaced. The dispenser doesnt work if you put the fridge onto the lowest temp available in the model. And, the company has a poor environmental rating because they use a lot of energy--a lot more than Sub-Zero or Bosch, and the filters are not recyclable. With our Bosch, we could send the filters back to the company for recycling. So I would never buy another Viking product. I have used Thermador ranges as a personal chef in other peoples home and they are far superior. I have also envied their Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances. In our other home we had Swedish (Aksa) washer/dryer and Bosch appliances. I miss them. A lot.
Iāve always been a fan of Viking appliances. I found the refrigerator on the website and I love its quality. I dont have to worry about needing customer service because majority of the time, the refrigerator is going to work like its supposed to and Im not going to have problems with it.
Please dont waste money on any Viking products! I have had two dishwashers in the past 10 years that fall apart and no longer work. I also have Viking fridge. The drawers broke, builds ice in the bottom of the freezer every few weeks that you have to hammer away to get the door to shut, and have replaced the ice maker twice which no longer works again! I buy bagged ice to fill my ice maker. Viking products stink.
I like the lighting of my Viking Refrigerator. Its much brighter than the other refrigerator that I had. However, I was disappointed that it didnāt have the same gold handle option that I had with the rest of my kitchen. Still, their reps were very good and they are able to provide me with whatever information Iām asking for. Im very happy with Viking and the quality of their products as well as the customer service that they provide.
Bought a brand new Viking two door, one drawer bottom freezer fridge. After a while the icemaker quit. They sent a tech. They told me they needed all sorts of parts from Viking. Then I got a call from Viking. Your fridge has been discontinued! Less than a year after coming onto the market. They told us they would send us a new fridge. We got the new fridge on 1 Sept 2014. Just before Christmas, the icemaker went out on this model. The tech called three different techs including Viking because he cant get the icemaker out of the fridge. The line frozen, too. I have to agree with everyone else here. Viking sucks and I have a full Viking kitchen that I wish I could afford to replace them all!
We love our Viking range. Everything is perfect. The dealer, however, told me that we were going to have our Viking stove at a particular date. I called up and they said, āNo. Its not here.ā And then they said it would be on this date. When I called them up again it still was not there. So, there was a delay action and then when the individual said, āOh, we donāt get shipments in on this particular dayā, in reality, yes, they did.
