The refrigerator was broken so we called the warranty company. It didnt resolve until one month later so we didnt have a refrigerator for a whole month. I guess everybody was busy. We just wish that Viking will have warranty people who come a little earlier to get the problem resolved. But they changed some part, including some sensor somewhere. It was defective, initially. It has been working since the repair was done and we havent seen any similar issue coming up.

We went with Viking because it was highly recommended but the doors of the range we got were off and they would stick out to one side. The quality was horrible. They brought me another one and I told the guys to make sure that the unit is okay before they remove the one that I had. When they opened it, the guy said it’s worse than what I got. They took it back and brought me a different one. The one I ordered was a Series 5 and when the man came from Viking, he looked at them and said he was gonna move me up to a Series 7. It still had a little bit of a problem but their guys came and removed the bottom plate and kind of played with it. Now, it works perfectly. It took about a year until I finally got the one that I presently have. I had to go and buy an induction hotplate. Whoever is putting these things together, their quality control people are not doing a very good job. The range is wonderful but the experience was terrible. After paying so much money for a range and then have to deal with so much drama with it, I wouldn’t do it again. My son is building a new house and I told him to not get into a Viking stove.

There was a technical issue with our Viking that led to it being replaced. It was an older model that had a very unfortunate habit of freezing over the freezer at the bottom. The customer service was quite good. My wife contacted a US service representative who referred us to a local repair person who came to our house and assessed the issue. Being that this was something that was recognized as Viking and something that warranted a replacement, he reached out to a Canadian representative who emailed us and spoke to my wife. We then signed a contract and an NDA and they replaced the refrigerator. So far, the freezing at the bottom hasnt happened with the new unit. It functions well.

Where do I begin. 4 and half years ago, we remodeled our home and bought Viking appliances which we have been very happy with EXCEPT for the horrible, horrible dishwasher. It has NEVER worked properly, EVER. So much so that after 2 years, I got Viking to replace it with a new one and its still doesnt work well. It spontaneously starts beeping, non-stop, the cycle takes FOREVER. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. A friend recommended to get a less expensive one, stainless steel but that will work better. Thats all from me.... Grrr.

I do like my range so far. It heats my food which the oven is supposed to do. It feels sturdy, reliable and doesnt have a lot of bells, buttons and whistles. It looks as though it will do what its supposed to do for the next 20 years. My expectation is that because it is expensive, Im going to have it for a long time. It is easy to clean. Im not a big cook, but my understanding from people who do is that its important to have the temperature consistent inside of the oven. Thats one of the things that Viking is known for - even heating. So if ever I take up baking, Ill find that to be true.

Im a furniture upholsterer, so I have a lot of friends that are decorators. I go inside other houses when they decorate and I see the Viking ranges and I like it. At Costco, they have NXR, which is almost the same range but the reviews are really bad. The quality of my Viking range is excellent and Ive got what I need for this moment. This is the first time I bought a range and its a nice piece. Its unbelievable.

This range is everything that I would hoped for when deciding this high-end purchase. Looks fantastic and performs equally as well. Only gave 4 stars because it’s difficult to clean and oven rack placement could be a little better. There is very limited spacing between the three racks. Additionally, the center rack that has the bearings in it is rather difficult to remove and then replace. I’ve been impressed by all of the functions that I’ve used so far on this oven.

I always liked the look of Viking ovens and since Viking always seems to have a package deal sale, we got suckered into buying the package and “saving” some money. The Fridge is awful. The door is too heavy and constantly breaks. They will send someone to fix it, but it is a temporary fix. A band aid. We have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of food because this fridge door will not close right (very bad design way — too heavy). They will not do the right thing and replace the fridge. I wish we bought the other brand that’s a bit more expensive but actually lasts and is built right. Don’t fall for the bundle deal. There’s a reason they offer it.

Just purchased a Viking refrigerator on Dec 15th 2018 and already have had to call for service. The very loud popping sound is annoying. The repairman couldnt do anything about it because it didnt make the noise while he was here (needs to know exactly where is coming from before he can make a diagnosis). I will continue to call until the problem is fix. After reading some of the reviews it looks like other problem. Does anyone know if theres a lemon law on refrigerators?

My Viking refrigerator meets expectations. Ive had a Sub-Zero before and it seems to be in line with my experience with Sub-Zero. I really like the pizza box feature. You could fit a whole pizza box on the shelf, which is pretty cool. I have one of those refrigerators on top and freezer on the bottom but it was fairly wide. Theres also some sort of ion sculpture. Im happy with my refrigerator. I also have the microwave, the hood, the range, and two ovens, and a dishwasher all from Viking. Ive been very happy with them. Its a well-made quality manufacturer of appliances and I would recommend Viking.

The installers didnt convert my unit from natural gas to propane. And that caused a lot of problems for us and the oven. The oven produced a lot of soot on the backsplash and that led to me calling about it. And then they discovered that it hasn’t been converted the right way. Though Viking did not install it, they ended up replacing the unit. Since then, its been just fine. My builder was involved in the negotiations to get a new one. I dont know how Viking responded to that request but I got a new one and I didnt pay for it. And before it came into my house, it has been converted. We like it, and it seems to be working. Im relatively pleased with the product itself.

I’ve called Viking Range several times for various questions since we bought a house with a Viking built in refrigerator. Unfortunately, the previous owner did not leave any of the user manuals behind and unable to locate the model & serial numbers. Hope from customer service and Stuart from the service side were a huge help. I was able to find out when my refrigerator was made and some of other mechanical information I needed. Our refrigerator is just over 20 years old and beautiful. Love the simplicity and clean lines. I would never have gotten this type of support from any of the mainstream appliance companies which I have tried in the past with other kitchen appliances that I have owned.

I read about Viking Ranges and compared it with Sub-Zero and Wolf range. Then a friend of mine who had Viking boasted about his range so I decided to try it. However, the delivery team bumped the range on one of my walls and one of its knobs broke off. I called the company to replace it and it took them forever to find the part. The authorized repair centers also took forever to place the order for a particular part. Other than that, the range has been performing as expected.

We built a new home and bought a Viking refrigerator floor model through a dealer. I had a built-in before, and I was happy with it, so I went with that particular refrigerator. I like the built-in because it’s not deep and things don’t get lost in the back of the refrigerator. I love my Viking refrigerator, but I’ve had eight or nine service calls on it and the people who came and serviced it have been excellent. When the refrigerator arrived, there was an issue with water coming out of the bottom of the door, and they replaced that, and then it wouldn’t make ice or water, so they changed out a harness, the water pump and the icemaker. It makes ice, but after they put in the new icemaker, the lever stops when the ice fills up, so a part was ordered and the people are coming this week to replace that. The dealer has been absolutely awesome on service and responsiveness and their staff has come out and dealt with every single problem I’ve had. However, I bought an eight-burner gas range through Pacific Kitchen & Home and I would not purchase through them again. When the range was delivered, the door needed adjustment and it’s been a nightmare to get somebody to come out through Pacific Kitchen to service it. I had to reach out to Viking directly to get any kind of service and they’re coming out this week as well. Hopefully, once everything is all in good working order, it’ll be well worth it. I also have a Viking dishwasher, which is fabulous and Im very happy with it.

Purchased a complete kitchen full of Viking professional series products in 2008. In 2011 the microwave quit working. In 2011 the stove top igniters are always trying to light a lit stove. 2011, dishwasher spray arm fell off (plastic broke). Ongoing is my fridge freezer side by side. Too warm on top but frozen veggies in the crisper. The oven always seems to take a little longer to get to temp then in 2014 would never get to temp. Have called the Authorized Viking distributor and have always been transferred around. I have been pushed to an authorized repair company and been fleeced for labor and materials. Dealer came out for dishwasher and after talking on the phone for an hour told me it would be over $500 to fix. I paid him for the service call and found the part online, and put it in myself. Took the microwave out and just bought a GE. No one wanted to work on the micro. Pulled the oven out of the wall, called the technician and he came out to troubleshoot. Told me the lower element was out. He quoted me over $550 to fix when the part came in within the next few weeks. I paid him the 140 for the trip charge and service call and found the element online for 111. I put it in myself. An absolute hassle and this is unacceptable for appliances that are supposed to be top of the line. Never, I mean never... NEVER will I ever buy another Viking product. Pure 100% crap. I have a mother in law apartment that does not have a single Viking product. Never have issues. I have Kohler throughout the main house. Hardly ever an issue. If there is one, I talk to KOHLER and they send me what it takes to fix. I cannot wait to remodel my kitchen!!!

The refrigerator appeared to be nicely made, and it had a very nice exterior finish and design. It also had a good price point relative to other built-in fridges and a very nice incentive plan in effect when we made the purchase. I went from a freezer combo to this 42-inch side-by-side refrigerator. I love opening a smaller door whenever I go into the refrigerator. I really like the interior lighting and the space at the very bottom which allows you to put in a full pizza pie or deep-dish thing in there. Even though its a very shallow fridge, its got a fairly open spot at the very bottom, which I like a lot. All the bins seem to be very nicely made. Im pretty happy with the fridge. The only issue I have with the freezer is that the cold air from the freezer compartment coming into the refrigerator comes in at one spot at the top. So things next to that will have a tendency to freeze, especially if something warm is put somewhere else in the fridge.I bought the Viking refrigerator from Best Buy and they were helpful. They had difficulties in the delivery mostly because of supply shortages and also in terms of getting here in the time frame that my association allows. The biggest issue I had was that they didnt install the refrigerator properly. They never screwed it in. They left about a 3/4-inch gap above the fridge in the cabinets. I went online and figured out how to jack it up, which I did, and leveled it and screwed it in. So all looks great now. But I did most of the installation myself because the guys didnt know how to do it. It didnt bother me that much because I didnt pay a separate installation fee. But it would have been more helpful if they told me the truth that they arent gonna install it and I should hire someone to do it.

My last refrigerator did not break twice but the new one did. The freezer and the refrigerator doors should stop at about 100 degrees and both of them broke, which happened twice. I had some Viking products before and I love their products. I got a refrigerator and its very organized, compressed and is a nice statement in the kitchen. It also seems to be energy efficient because it doesn’t run in a cycle. It runs on and off a lot versus the thing compressing the air. It also maintains the temperature very easily and its quiet. The guys who brought the ref in were extremely careful and good at moving the big and heavy product. But I was offended by my experience with their dealers. They sent out a refrigerator which was boxed and I saw the delivery guys open it in front of my house and it was damaged in the box. They brought it in and they said the damage could be easily fixed by replacing one piece. I told them it was fine, I needed the refrigerator for the holiday. But as I installed the refrigerator, I noticed one packaging slip on the side of it so I removed it and inside the slip was the receipt that a new box had been ordered for this refrigerator. The refrigerator was sold to another family in a nearby suburb and returned by that family because it was damaged. But the dealer sold it to me as a new product.I immediately called the supplier and it was like the girl had been waiting for my call. They knew exactly what was going on and they ordered me another one. The other one came and they said, “Just use this one in the meantime.” I wasn’t really out a refrigerator for a long period of time, but it was just the idea of them trying to slip this damaged one past me. I would be hesitant in purchasing a high-priced item from this company again even though Im happy with the product itself.

Sales communications could have been better, as when the range arrived the installation was not scheduled. There is a bow in the bottom panel, and the gas ignites in the oven only %50 of the time, the other $50 of the time only smell gas - unfortunately two whumphhh! booms occurred inside which is how I discovered the gas does not ignite well - obviously a small explosion occurred and I will not use the oven. The result so far after several months since I placed the order?: Service took two weeks to get scheduled for a repair date that is an additional three weeks out. I still have no idea if this is covered under warranty or if it can be fixed, I only know I waited for ever and have a nice looking range that is only %50 useful, and in general underperforms vs Thermador, which I would have bought had I not had my heart set on a specific color. I still have no oven to use, not worth it after several months experience (so far).

I used to work in the restaurant biz and I’ve heard about Viking for a long time. I knew it was gonna be a good stove oven and I liked the way it looked. I keep on telling everybody it’s like my whole life I’ve been driving a beat up Datsun and now I’m driving a Volvo or Rolls-Royce. You can just feel how the quality is and it’s excellent. Also, I like its sturdiness, the rollout shelves, the LED lighting over the little controls, the handles and everything about it. My husband was good with Viking. He is a contractor and he did the installation. My plumber had roughed out the gas line, according to the install directions, and then when the actual oven showed up, you couldn’t install where that gas line was. My husband called Viking and explained the problem about their drawings. That went well but we had to move the gas line which was not great. Still, people should go for Viking Ranges. It’s an expense and it’s gonna be more expensive but it was the biggest choice I had to make. I love the amount of space of my Viking refrigerator. It’s really good for an office. However, it wasn’t getting to the appropriate temperature. So, the serviceman came in and replaced the fan and something else. Those parts were not under warranty anymore, so we were looking at four years with the refrigerator. The freezer was working fine, but the two parts that he replaced didn’t do the trick. He had to come back, and then it was something that he needed to fix. He came out a couple of times before we finally got everything back up and running. So, we were without a refrigerator through most of the holidays, which was kind of a pain. And it made it hard to get him in. The serviceman was great. The only issue we had at one point was finding out when the parts were coming in. We waited and waited and finally, I called the serviceman and they said that they were having a hard time getting the parts. So, I ended up calling one of Vikings customer service numbers to find out what the issue was, and the part was in the following week. But there was this waiting time where we didn’t know anything, and it was because the part was taking forever to come in. Viking needs to set interaction between whoever provides the parts to the technician, and then the technician’s communication with who’s waiting on the part and the repair.

We went through an open house and we saw one with Viking as one of the stuff they put in their kitchen. My parents really love Sub-Zero and we were wondering if we’d go with Sub-Zero or Viking, and we picked Viking out of price. I like how cold it is and I like the fact that food doesn’t go spoiled as easily as with my traditional $2,000-range fridge. I bought a floor model and I called Viking ‘cause it had an installation issue. They sent a third-party company fast, which is good in terms of their customer service. However, the company who did the repair was not as good as I would like them to be because they couldn’t do it right and they put on the report that it might be a different issue. They scheduled it for another three to four weeks ‘cause of the parts. Overall Viking is pretty solid, but from the design point-of-view, it’s a bit outdated compared to others. Sub-Zero is better but it’s a little bit pricier and it’s harder to find a floor model than Viking.

Purchased a high end Viking Refrigerator in Oct, 2008 for just under $5,000. In August 2015 it stopped cooling due to a Freon leak. Local appliance repair fixed it temporarily by recharging at a cost of $541. Permanent fix required replacing defective Viking parts that were covered by warranty and ordered on Oct 1st. However labor costs of $1,800 plus tax were NOT covered.By Nov. 5 the parts had still not arrived. I contacted Viking customer service and got no satisfaction or assurance, so I wrote the COO of Viking a letter with the facts and expressing my dissatisfaction. It takes over 5 weeks to replace defective parts that are covered by warranty! It costs me $1,800 in labor to replace Vikings defective parts! I received NO response whatsoever from the COO or anybody at Viking. Eventually the parts arrived at the end of November and the refrigerator was repaired on Dec 7 -- OVER 2 MONTHS after the parts were ordered! With that kind of quality and their non-existent service, Ill never buy another Viking product and have recommended the same to every person and appliance seller I know.

Double oven, heat warming tray, 2 oversized units, one refrigerators, one freezer, ice machine dishwasher, hood, and 6 burner stove top. Within two years the refrigerator started leaking. We complained to the company we purchased it from and he said it was the seal. They ordered a new one from Viking but what Viking failed to tell them was that the refrigerator we had purchased was one of the first 100 off the assembly line and they had recalled this item. The continuing leakage from the refrigerator ruined our hardwood floors. We finally had a rep come out and look at the refrigerator and believe it or not we got a new one after this continuing over a year. The ice machine in the freezer went bad so he ordered us a new one while he was there. The ice machine that was self standing the board went out after 4 years and it cost almost as much to fix so we threw it out. Now our freezer only freezes halfway. There is a hole in the condensing coil that they can not locate. Now the refrigerator that was replaced the door keeps catching and it will not close properly. The dishwasher would not drop water after 5 years. Could not figure out why it would not and just ended up throwing that away.

Ive had my brand new Viking refrigerator since September 8 and it has been a lemon. It’s the third icemaker that’s been gone into it. The doors were supposed to come and before they could, the inside of the doors just started falling out of it. I had no icemaker during Thanksgiving and Christmas. They put one in one week and immediately it went before Christmas day. Weve been waiting and waiting and waiting, and a new icemaker came yesterday. And after 2 months, the icemaker decided to start working. This is a very sick refrigerator. I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator before and it was wonderful. But on my Viking refrigerator, every time I close the door, it dumps ice on the floor. The repairman said yesterday “Well, all refrigerators do that.” But my Sub-Zero didn’t. I was led to believe that Viking was a better appliance than the Wolf packages, but its not. I am very disappointed in what I thought was gonna be a very good product. And another thing was Ive had to ask for books to operate it. I called and told them I didn’t get any manual to work with me. They told me I can go online and print it out but it was 30 pages to print out.

I went to Barry’s Appliance in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and they had all different brands on there. I liked the style of the Viking range. It looked nice. I thought it fit well in my kitchen that we had just put in. We got the hood, and it was very good. I like the convection oven a lot and the quality of the range is excellent. However, the door doesnt look like it closes all the way but they told me that’s ‘cause of the gasket that’s on it. It almost looks like it’s a little open on the side but they said that all the Viking Ranges are like that. There was also a problem with one of the gas jets when we first got it. There was a loose connection inside. They sent a repair guy down and took the whole stove apart. We tightened every connection in it. He was there for three or four hours and I haven’t had problems since. My experience with Vikings is great and I would recommend the Viking range.

When redoing our kitchen we decide to purchase all Viking appliances: dishwasher, 36 inch gas range, commercial grade fridge, freezer, wine fridge, and microwave. From the time of installation there was issues with every single item. After repairing the dishwasher control panel twice for 800 dollars each time no warranty on that part we finally replaced it. Unfortunately I have a gas range and the only thing that works on it is two burners. I have never been able to use the grill and no one was able to repair it. My fridge and freezer is now turned off and no one wants to touch Viking products and to replace them is too much. In the beginning Viking had said they would replace all the products. After numerous calls then they disappeared and I was told my warranty was up and I was on my own. They never fixed it while the warranty was still good, they just waited and dragged things on. Worst experience ever. Beautiful kitchen with nothing working in it.

Viking VMOS200 died after 7 years of very little use - repairs quoted in the $200-$250 range... not worth it. So now had to find exact same size replacement because of its existing Viking Trim Kit ($400+ by itself) and which matches other trim kits in kitchen. Anyway, only new Viking unit that fits our trim kit is the VMOS201 unit - at a fixed price of $689 plus local tax. Took old unit apart and discovered its basically a Sharp 2.0 cubic foot R530ES model... also obsolete. Note that the current Viking VMOS201 is also Sharp inside.Did some research and found that Frigidaire uses the same Sharp box, model FGMO205KF - and its half the cost of the Viking/Sharp VMOS201. All you give up is the heavier Viking stainless steel door and the Viking emblem. And if you must have the Viking emblem to match other appliances, just remove it from your old unit (use a hot hair dryer and saw the adhesive away with dental floss) and swap with the Frigidaire label. Hope this help other folks that dont want to pay $400. Too much for a commodity Sharp microwave.

When we first took delivery of our Viking stove (double oven, 4 burners and grill) the larger of the two ovens didnt work and the computer motherboard had to be replaced. The company servicing it was great so the impact was minimal. Within the first few months, the black finish on the grease trough, although never used, started to peel, exposing the shiny metal underneath. Since it is so visible on top of the stove, I reached out to Brigade (the new name for Viking in Canada) for a replacement part, under warranty. After much waiting on hold, and back and forth emails, they agreed to send the replacement part.I waited five months only to find out that the order was never placed and a new company has taken over their parts distribution. They have informed me that since my warranty has now expired, they will SELL me the part at a discount. How nice! This stove, which looks beautiful, was meant to be a once in a lifetime purchase. Not only is it showing early signs that it wont stand up to normal use, the lack of customer service is disheartening! I wish I loved my stove but I dont and would not recommend a Viking/Brigade due to the poor customer service.

Gas Range model VGCC5366BSS installed Oct. 2013. Oven continually failed due to fried control module. The module was replaced over a dozen times, and during one period where we were waiting for parts, the company installed a temporary 30 range of the same model, and it failed within 2 months for the same reason. The repairman set up surge protectors, ran a new electrical circuit, had the utility monitor for electrical surges, and had us use a door wedge to hold the oven door tightly closed (the last theory was that heat was escaping from the oven and burning the circuit board). I just found out today (not from Viking!), that there is a huge recall on Viking and Brigade freestanding gas ranges (US & Canada), including my model. So, we’re trying not to use it until it’s fixed. They had a guy out a week ago who said that they needed to order parts. I follow the instructions as to how to get that stainless cleaned and it doesnt do what the manual tells me. It doesnt really look like I would want it to look, which is to look uniform. It doesnt come out even and the surface is so bad to clean that I keep those fiberglass things so that when I open and close the doors, I dont have to do the handles constantly. And the other thing which we didnt know when we purchased it was we just assumed it had an ice maker and it doesnt have an ice maker.

I walked into the store looking for a Sunshine or Vikings traditional gas range. Ive heard of Viking but I didnt know about their products. Their sales reps were not really educated. They showed me the Viking range and were not too technical about it. But when I saw the Viking, I said Wow. Its like a restaurant style range and I loved the way it looked as well as the capacity inside. So, I got it. Its also marked up at a reasonable price and so far, I had a good experience using it at home. I love how it heats up everything so fast and the knobs are good to work with. But I get confused once I use the conventional or the bake. I dont know what the difference is or how it works. Im not chef type person and Ive been Googling that to try to figure out whats the difference between that and the regular bake. The grills are heavy duty, too, which is good. We got to be careful when we take them off and clean them so we dont hit the actual stove with them. My wife cleans them daily and she scratched the front on top of it on the shiny part. It was stainless steel and she said it was heavy so she dropped it.

I got a range, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a refrigerator from Viking. But Im not happy with any of them. I had a problem with the burners of the range. Its really easy to move the igniter if youre cleaning it and when you take the ring off. But if you move the igniter too close, it wont ignite. You have to bend it back into place. I had to bend it back in place initially to get it to work. Also, the finish on the grills that come with it on the top came off on it in four months. I called Viking and figured they would send me a new one. But they said it was not covered and that it was cosmetic. These things are supposed to be pretty sweet. In general, I’m super disappointed in the fact that it’s 10 grand on a package and I’m not happy with any of the units.

My dishwasher was recalled due to fire hazard. It stopped working. They would NOT fix it for free. Then silverware basket fell apart with very little use. I called Viking in Concord, CA and spoke to a woman who works for Viking. She said she could order a replacement silverware basket for my tenant (The house and dishwasher is hundreds of miles away so I had no idea of its size.). I paid for the basket and was told it would arrive in 3 weeks. After two MONTHS, it had not arrived, per tenant. I called the appliance store and they called the lady in Concord and she said it had been shipped out twice. However, this proved not to be the case at all. When I spoke to her, she said that due to the fact that the dishwasher was 4 years old and discontinued, she couldnt find any baskets. She had none available and had made no progress in finding me one. She never once bothered to contact me, or the store for two months to inform of us of the situation. She could not give me the size or any helpful information so I could search for it myself. I went out online and found a website that locates parts and I had one ordered in 5 minutes. After I spent $20,000 on VIKING appliances, I have much regret. I will never buy from them again and beware, this is how they will treat you, too.

We bought our Viking range when we built our house and wanted good range. So we purchased a 36 with a griddle and 4 burners. The problems started 3 months into the lift of the range with the oven igniters failing. The serviceman said these do wear out and this is common - not something you really want to hear this early in use. This happened a couple of more times under the warranty period and as soon as the warranty period ended, I have my first $300 service call to replace them. After 2 of those calls ($600), I started replacing myself with Viking parts, and soon switched to non OEM parts from Ebay that actually lasted longer. Spent some time on the Viking service/support line on the root cause and was told that I probably had dirty power, so I had a electrician check it out and reported all was fine. I have not mentioned that the burners also burned through and needed to be replaced twice in the course of this as well as well as the burner igniter that never stops sparking after the burner is lit. The hinges on the oven door have now broken and rather than spend a couple of hundred dollars on this, we have decided to finally invest in a new range. It is most disappointing when you spend nearly $6000 on a range, but when you have to put in $500/ year to keep in working properly, it is just ridiculous. So today, we have decided not to invest one more penny in the stove and go shopping for a new range. Sad to say, but the experience of the top notch Viking was a very bad experience. I long for the old gas range from our last house. The best part is that this is my first online review. As I was looking for new ranges, I just happened across this discussion and if I can prevent one other person from wasting their time/money on a Viking range, I have done a service. I wish someone had saved us.

I have been using Viking products for a couple years now. However, one of the things that I’m having a problem with, and this is the second kitchen we put in, is it seems like every time I buy Viking, it comes in broken. Last 2012, we did the kitchen and the refrigerator came in and they had no compressor. I told them to take it back, but they wouldn’t take it back. So, I bought a rebuilt. So, I have a broken refrigerator there with the door that is not working. Then, they got to come back and then the dishwasher got a bulk. As soon as the guy came out, I’m like, “What is wrong with you guys? Every time I get something from you guys, is it just my bad luck or what?” Out of four appliances, two of them broke. That is ridiculous. I also said that we do our kitchen every four years and I’m doing a kitchen down in Florida. That was to start this month and I’m behind and I told him I can’t be bringing in stuff that I know I got a way to get it fixed and I’m not there. I said I can’t do this. Viking had issues with this problem so extended warranty slightly on newer ovens, so they were aware of problems in past ovens. Fast forward 2 yrs and both ovens are down again. Big pop and smoke. Having a Viking Range is something that Ive always wanted for quite some time. Theyre expensive, but at my age now, I am finally able to afford it. I enjoyed cooking and never had this stuff with a high-end range before. I enjoy Viking a lot. I like the six-burner. I never had that many burners before. I could do simultaneously more things on the stove instead of taking turns before. Theyre all have nice sizes too. With the classic, it is just a four-burner range, you only have two small ones. You couldnt put a big pot on it. Then youre limited only to two larger ones. With Viking, theyre basically all the same size. It gave me a lot of options. We had some issues with the installation from Monark Appliances which is the store where we bought the appliances. But after that, when we contacted Viking, they were quite helpful. We had four appliances we got from them and they helped me register all the products online. We had nothing but trouble with the Viking Range that we first received. It was a gas range, the simplest model that Viking makes and I felt like I got a lemon unit. We were without an oven for five weeks. I contacted Viking and I spoke with a gentleman named Tony who should have been responsible for resolving these kinds of issues. Basically, he said that Viking would only come and replace parts on the unit even though we had had the repairman out three times. He also said that they would restart our warranty once the range started working. Tony was nice but he had a very condescending attitude. He should not be dealing with end-users.Viking never got me a new range and I am rather disappointed with them. They were exceedingly stubborn with replacing it. I didn’t even wanna go with the same model and I wanted to get a different one. I wanted to go to a dual convection and I wouldve paid the difference if Viking wouldve stepped in and did something about it. It took a lot of work and coordination that the consumer and the end-user should not have had to go through. I have never dealt with a more frustrating company and I’m astonished that they treat an end-user like that. It ruined my opinion of them. The dealer I purchased it from replaced the range, and that was before Viking agreed to make the transfer. This was all done through the retailer. They brought a new one out and it worked right away, and it’s been working since then. Viking is a very good range while it’s been working, but with all the experience I had with the last unit, I was not happy. Any time that somebody will ask me about my range, I will be more than happy to tell them the story of how Viking basically did nothing.

We purchased out Viking refrigerator at Atlantic Appliances and should have listened to the salesperson who told us it was really an AMANA refrigerator with a VIKING label on the door. He was insulting AMANA because this brand was worse! Not less than 2 months later, the top of the cold cut drawer snapped off. The produce drawers cracked shortly afterward. Obviously the interior was sub-optimal and did not live up to the Viking brand. Overtime, I realized that the storage is not practical either. I cannot fit all of my produce in those two tiny drawers, and the bottom freezer cannot hold a large turkey. Also, the freezer drawer does not come out enough so that you have to bend down and INTO the freezer. Finally the entire refrigerator crashed this weekend and we need to buy another, after owning it for 6 years. Went to SEARS and fell in love with a Kenmore french door... price 2000.00. Price of Viking 3560.00. Do the math! I will never purchase high end appliances again.

Viking was having a deal where if you buy three of the main appliances, there would be a discount so I bought their refrigerator. It has a little space on the bottom that can fit a whole pizza box and I like that. It also has a wide freezer that has a lot of storage space in the separate freezer. But the unit has been with me for less than two years and it already needed repair. There was an electronic component on the defroster that went out. It was still under warranty, so I went back to the appliance store and got the name of the person that they recommended. I had to go online and make sure they had the warranty information and had to schedule a repair. Then they had to order the parts and the repairman had to come back a second time to install them. Aside from that, every one of the plastic drawers that pull out has hairline cracks. I talked to them about getting those replaced and Viking told me that since its a cosmetic issue, its not covered by the warranty. Also, when we were doing the repair and were taking out the glass shelving, the glue on the bracket that attached it to the glass came off. Its not a big deal because it sits on the glass, but it’s another example of why I dont see the unit as high-quality, like how the repair and appliance people described it. I also bought a Viking range and it works well but the preheat cycle takes a long time. I wish that there was more versatility and I would do away with the grill and just have a griddle that was two chambers wide. I was also disappointed that it doesn’t have a clock or automatic cut. So I feel that for what I paid for, I got a very low-tech item.

I’m sorry to say that this $7000+ refrigerator is the biggest piece of crap I ever owned as an appliance. I spent $1000 for custom panels too when I bought it in 2009 for my kitchen remodel. It broke so many times that it made me cry. I took care of the recalls with the door, had a new seal, had to change all the electronics on top, freezer always breaks and leaks, changed the fan too. I really want this replaced with something else. It’s all built-in too. Kitchen-aid made the same size in 36.” Wish I got that instead. Everything in my kitchen is KitchenAid and I’m quite pleased with it.

When we bought the house, the owner bought all Viking appliances but have never used it. When we came here in the house, everything was brand new. We have the Viking refrigerator for three years now and it is a good quality appliance. But I was surprised that within those years, there was some water leaking from the freezer and then the refrigerator was broken. But the Viking team was very helpful and someone came here and fixed it. Other than we have to have the service, its door has more spaces compared to other refrigerators and they have a bunch of options. And we can also cool fast with it.

I owned a 4-burner Viking range back in 2005 and they were good. When we built our house, we tossed back and forth with other ranges. But we went with Viking once again. I couldnt settle for something else and it seemed like I was settling if I got something different. I like the different top for the broiler. We use it daily and were very happy.

When we went looking for a refrigeration system for Thanksgiving the salesperson showed us different brands and the Viking appealed to us. My wife liked the configuration of the shelves inside. She also likes the openness of this refrigerator. Its not cluttered and we could adjust the shelves. Diana, the person I dealt with at Viking, was super. The only thing is that they were so busy that they couldnt deliver the refrigerator so I went to pick it up.However, were having trouble with the icemaker. The refrigerator takes a couple of days for it to generate. It was making a little bit of ice and then all of a sudden it didn’t make ice. So we called the repair facility and that was not a happy thing for me because we had to find different dealers that would service Viking. We finally found one and they came out and worked on it. But after four days it had spit out about five ice cubes and that was it. We had the repair technician come out again and he said that theyll order a new one. I said okay and were waiting for the part to come in. Viking Refrigerators is one of the best ones a person could get. The biggest features would be its reliability and functionality.

The control panel for our double wall mounted Viking range went out two months ago. Since then we have been trying to get it fixed. After a delay of 7 weeks, the part came. The part was defective and we have heard nothing since. I have twice talked to Albert Lee sales people about the company and the miserable record they have for repair. They said they were aware but will continue to sell Viking. When I asked about warning people I got no reply. The repair people are slow but are at the mercy of the company who bought Viking. Mr Selim Bassoul is the culprit at this company Middleby. They bought Viking and immediately the problems started. They closed the Distribution company in Washington and moved all parts supply to California. They bill themselves as the supplier for the entire Southwest. When I tried to explain to the parts tech about my problems, he curtly told me to be quiet and to move ahead. He didnt seem to care what the customers were going through. Its really too bad as they were a great company. Now they are the worst. Stay away at all costs from them and the people who support them.

We bought a home a year ago. It’s not a brand new home and we needed to update its kitchen. We liked to cook, so we were looking for some of the well-known brands. I have a younger sister thats a chef, so she told us about the usual Viking, Wolf, Sub-zero, Cove kinda thing and we began to research those brands as we were preparing to replace the appliances in our kitchen. The Viking refrigerator seems like a nice durable unit. I have noticed the difference from a GE or a KitchenAid in here before. It seems to preserve the food longer as they claim with the freshness system, preventing spoilage. So, that was quite noticeable. It does seem like the fans run a lot although one of the installers explained to me that there are several fans in there to balance temperature and things like that, but Im never sure which ones going so Im never sure if this thing is running all the time or just frequently. We had to put a side by side built-in in because of the way the kitchens designed and there really wasn’t, at least at the time, an option to have the water and ice dispenser together. It does have the ice dispenser, but there really wasn’t any option for the filtered water which would have been nice. And even though it does make the ice, there is no water filter in the fridge itself which isnt really a concern. We have good water in the community, but for constructive feedback, itd be nice to have that option even if youre just making ice.The representatives were very helpful. I worked with Grand Appliance for the refrigerator. And they had a unit that was ordered for a job and then the customer changed their mind and went with a French-door unit, so they gave me a nice deal on this one since it was still brand new and just misordered. But they did a nice job with that in getting it here and installing it. So, that part went well. I did have one follow up because right after it was installed, one of the little pins that keep the door from swinging had broke off and I called Viking and since it has only been a few days, they sent someone right out to replace that little pin. I would recommend Viking Refrigerator. Its a high quality product.

I had an excellent experience with the Viking dealer. Their professionalism and knowledge of the product were good. The Viking refrigerator is good overall, but we had issues when we got it. It was leaking so it damaged our floor. I still have to file an insurance claim for that. I think there was a damaged part, and when I had a claim, the company wasn’t expedient in their response.

We have a 2 year old Viking range that unfortunately required service. We called Viking and they gave us 2 companies that they recommended. Oceanic Repair was one of them. Not to sound silly but living by the water made me choose them over the other one. They did such a great job I wanted to let others know. They went through all of our appliances with us, I feel like we got a lesson instead of a service call. I saw a lot of bad press about Viking, I no longer agree with most of it. We now understand the reasons why our range was built as it is and now that were are using it with our new found understanding, our level of joy has gone through the roof. Remember the internet is full of people who have had issues, most people forget to say the good things as well. I would buy a Viking again and if it needed service I know who to call.

I wanted a more professional range and for the price, Viking offered the most features in the budget that I was comfortable with as far as PTU, capacity, and self-cleaning. Testing was not offered by similar brands in this price range. The cooktop is great and the baking has been great. It was quick to get it from the company that I bought it from but I wasn’t thrilled with the third party delivery service they had. But it’s all fine. I’m happy with it so far. Viking accommodates different budgets, styles and features so it’s definitely worth looking into.

In the last month (September 2018), I have had three door containers fall off the door and shatter on the floor when I opened the refrigerator. All three door containers broke about one week apart. In addition, my cold storage drawer handle broke (plastic). What is going on with these components? Has anyone else experienced failure. This refrigerator was purchased in 2012, along with five other stainless Viking appliances. No problems with them. Viking says there is no recall and my warranty has expired. I would Viking to step up to the plate and assist. These are solid pieces that have appeared to fracture after six years of use. I would expect other things to malfunction but not solid plastic pieces.

Our Viking sealed 6 burner cook top is about 8 or 9 years old. Five of the 6 burners are fine. One burner (front right of course) ignites, but keeps clicking the starter for all 6; after it ignites. Called Viking and then their genuine parts distributor for suggestions and parts. Bought a new sensor (with only comes with ring) for about $90.00 with shipping. Although they wanted me to buy a $50.00 tool to remove/install, I rigged my own special wrench to unscrew and screw in the ring/sensor. In short, the burner does the exact same thing it did before. A lot of time, effort and $90.00 wasted. As an FYI: when we did this kitchen, we also got a Viking built in side by side refrigerator. After 3 defective units in less than 6 months, they gave me my $$ back. All units were bad in multiple ways. Gotta give them credit as they really tried to satisfy my wife and me, but they just could not. I hope I have better luck with this professional style range top. To be continued....

I bought a fridge and dishwasher back in 2011. The fridge was fine, however, the dishwasher was just dreadful. After going through several channels, a Viking rep told me to pull it out and sell it. Eventually, the store where I bought it ended up replacing it. I then opted for a Miele dishwasher. In June 2013, I decided to try again with Viking. I ordered a range top, range hood with fan, and warming drawer. The range top had to be replaced as it arrived very badly scratched and dented. It was yet another ordeal to get it replaced. The warming drawer is sitting all apart on my living room floor. Ive never had the chance to use it because the cabinet rubs against the drawer and screeches metal to metal when trying to use it.The Viking rep sent out a panel to be screwed into the base of the drawer to keep it flat but that did not work. Now we have another part ordered but Viking has the flippant attitude of telling us they have no idea when the part will arrive. In order to complete the remodel of my kitchen I needed double ovens and a microwave. I chose Jenn Air, and could not be happier with their products. Also, their customer service is outstanding. Viking is definitely the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is just horrendous.

I bought a house and it had an older Viking range and a Bosch dishwasher. I needed to replace my refrigerator so I wanted it to be Viking. I chose Viking because I wanted it to match the stove. Besides, Bosch did not have as good reviews as Viking. And I was a bit limited as I live in a very old house and it’s a standalone refrigerator. It’s not a built-in and there aren’t a lot of those high-end available and Viking had a nice one. So I purchased the refrigerator through Best Buy and they were very nice. They didnt have the refrigerator on the showroom floor and this guy named Ryan found it for me when I told him exactly what I needed. When I bought the French Door refrigerator, it was fine. I like the way it looks, as well as its lighting. But then it began making high-pitch tinging noise that was driving me crazy. I had an appliance guy come in to check it and I pointed it out and he took a video and told me that its no good. It was not the fan which a lot of people thought. The fan makes a fine sound. Almost a comforting sound. But this was a metal on metal and it was the condenser. They put me in touch with Viking and they sent out a technician and he put some sound deadening material on the condenser which has solved the problem. Thing is, it should be designed that way in the first place. Its silly. And also right there in the back of the fridge is a crazy piece of cardboard which doesn’t make any sense. It should be a metal panel. But overall, its a very nice fridge with a very good price. I would recommend Viking.

We had an oven fire over Christmas, and so we bought a new one from Viking. The oven fit and I had a hood already that was Viking, so it was just as simple as replacing what was there. I needed an oven fast, so I went online and found whoever was closest to me, who could bring it in and who had a good deal going on. I got it through Appliance Connection. I spoke to somebody about which one to get and they sorted it out. It was okay. But the installers were a little half-assed. Even so, the quality of the oven is good and solid. There was nothing wrong with it except one of the igniters wasnt working, but I fixed that myself. And there were a few loose parts on it when it came that needed to be sorted out. But Ive had one in the past, and its fine. Its better than most.

When it was time to replace my range, I went with Viking because the other brands gave me a hard time. The rest of the range worked, when I got it, except for the infrared broiler. So, I registered with Viking and they sent service techs from R&E Appliance who were able to take care of the problem right away. It was a little disappointing that the range needed new parts right away. Other than that, the range has been working ever since it was repaired. I love the quality of the range and I like the way the lights light up across that I can see my knobs. Then the burners are on high right away when I turn them on, so I don’t have to fiddle to get them on high because they usually don’t cook low. Also, things roll out of the oven easily, so you’re not fighting against trying to pull it out.

I have all-Viking appliances in my kitchen and I had a custom refrigerator. It was 10 years old and I was having problems with it. Not all the parts were available and it cannot be fixed so it was time to buy a new one. If it had not been built-in with the cabinet, I would have purchased a Sub-Zero because a lot of people said they had quite a few problems with Viking refrigerators. And it was $2,000 more than the Sub-Zero. But I wound up buying a Viking because I had to put in this cabinet what would fit. I got the exact same size as the one they took out, which had wood panels that matched the cabinets on it. But they dont do that anymore. The new one is all stainless steel, and it looks good with the stove and microwave, which are also all stainless steel. They all look the same so it’s fine. Its brand new and it cools well, so I have no complaints. I like that there is LED light in it, because its bright. You could see inside well. At the bottom, you have that little area where you can put a normal-sized pizza box and just shelve it right in there and it fits. Viking has made some design changes from what we have had previously and I think they’re good. But my questions were around the reliability in the long term. Because refrigerators arent necessarily Vikings wheelhouse. Its more the stoves and stuff.

I purchased 27 Viking “professional” double wall ovens to replace old GE model in November 2010. I used them successfully to cook Thanksgiving dinner (I dont use an oven very much!). In 2011 around September, I cooked something that gave off a lot of steam and fogged up the analog clock which stopped. Reset it a few days later and it was fine. In January 2012, I roasted some wild mushrooms. The moisture from the mushroom stopped the clock again and I realized at that time it has also stopped the other timing controls. This time the controls stayed broken. I called Viking and I was told the ovens were out of warranty. I called for service and was advised to turn off the circuit breaker which may reset the controls. That didnt work. I called back and the operator was very surprised that Viking didnt “step up” and pay for the repair (they quoted $200 or so to send someone out). I called Viking back to ask again but couldnt reach anyone so I left a message. Then I emailed their customer support. I received a response that they would fix the controls for FREE. But after numerous emails and calls to Karen ** (senior customer support representative: **), I am still waiting. I will never purchase another Viking product! I love my Wolf exhaust fan and my Miele dishwasher and my very old Chambers gas cook top (I will never replace it).

I purchased an entire kitchen of Viking appliances minus the fridge. The appliances were installed approximately 3 months ago, but have never been used because we are just moving back into the house. So far, we have had a repairman out for the stove, the microwave and most recently was told that the wine cooler has to have the control panel replaced. Are you kidding me? I haven’t had the first glass of chilled wine. I called corporate and was told that sometimes it happens. Not much concern was shown. They made sure that I knew that the cooler has a 2-year warranty. There are 3 reasons that I bought Viking products: first, they are beautiful; second, they are made in America; and third, I thought they were a good company with a very good product. I was wrong on everything except the beautiful part. Who protects us from these predators?

My friends introduced me to Viking Refrigerators and we specifically bought this brand because we heard how good they were, but now I feel that their customer service is terrible. Ive only had my refrigerator for not even a year and it broke four times now and it has taken at least two to three weeks to get it fixed every single time. Nobody at the Viking dealer would pick up the phone, so it was hard to get in touch with somebody. When I finally do, the only way somebody would call me back is if I was rude and talked to the manager at the place that I called. It was a horrible experience. I couldnt be more upset about it.
